First let me start off by saying that their customer service is what made me decide to use them for upgrading my garage electrical to support charging my Tesla. When I say customer service I mean Kirsten. She answered all of my questions and made suggestions when it appeared I didn't have any options. I live in a townhouse and so working with our electrical panel has many issues not associated with a single family home. I initially had Dr. Sparks' team come out and they determined nothing could be done to add a 220 circuit to my garage, without upgrading my entire electrical panel which would be a lot of money. One of the team members (Lance) even stopped by on his way home from work to see if he could come up with any options. He couldn't but again that is part of their customer service. A few months passed and Kirsten called me out of the blue to discuss a new option. This option adds a unit in the garage that allows the electrical system to charge my Tesla but if the electrical demand in the house exceeds the capability of my main electrical box it will cut the charge to the Tesla and let the house function uninterrupted. Once the house electrical demand is reduced the charge to the Tesla can then restart. We discussed this option and although the price for the unit is a little high I decided to go ahead. The team of Warren (Dr. Spark's) and Lance came by and performed the installation. The installation took about 6 hours but it works flawlessly. So now I am getting about 30miles/hr while charging.
If you live in a townhouse and can't get a 220 outlet installed in your garage call Dr. Sparks and ask about the DDC-9 unit I described above. They will walk you through the installation.

Given the power outages have continued to increase in frequency and duration, we decided to get a manual transfer switch installed so we could more easily run power off of our portable generator (a transfer switch allows you to plug the generator power directly into your electric panel instead of running extension cords from it).

I did a lot of research and fielded several quotes.  Dr. Sparks prevailed and got the job.  Kirsten was friendly, polite, and professional while I was gathering quotes and answered every question she could.  Anything needing further clarification was taken care of by Warren.  He was patient, answering my (many...) questions, and worked with me over the phone and via photos to nail down my needs and capabilities.  The price was competitive and fair and they got me right onto their calendar.

Warren was here early and ready to go.  They were done in a couple of hours, gave me a tutorial on the new equipment, and answered (even more...) of my questions.  They cleaned up and left everything looking better than when they arrived and billing and permit we're handled through Kirsten.  Road tested two days later after everything had cured and it worked perfect.

If you like our community as much as I do, we need to support our local businesses that deliver quality work at a fair price - Dr. Sparks is a great place to start.  I highly recommend, especially for these transfer switches.

I was looking for an electrician to install an electric vehicle charging station in my garage. A Tesla employee recommended we get a NEMA 14-50 outlet and order an adapter from Tesla. I did some research and this was the most cost effective way to charge our new Tesla @ home. I reached out to Dr Sparks and a few others. Their communication was the best of all the electricians in the area (Conejo Valley was good too) and since they are both in my city of Agoura Hills, I decided to go with a Dr Sparks after an email with them. I asked how i could save some $$ on my quote, and they suggested I pull the permit myself from the city. I went down to city planning and after getting the right information I received my permit that week and made an appointment for the install. If just so happened to be on the day we received the call that our vehicle was ready for pickup. Warren from Dr Sparks came out with another electrician who were super friendly and started their work. After a few hours they were all done and other than a new 220v Nema 14-50 plug, it didn't look like anything had changed. Come to find out 2 of my breakers were unused and they were able to use existing conduit to run the wires to the new plug. I set up an inspection the next day and passed with flying colors. Thanks Dr Sparks! The invoice was emailed to me and I paid through a link I received from them. Super easy.

I connected to Dr Sparks as a Tesla certified electrician to install our in garage charger. The process was super simple to initiate. They ask for some basic info and pictures via email and provided a quote. Once we agreed to the work, they pulled permits and called to schedule install. The workers were early and really nice. They explained the work they'd be doing and where everything would go. They did a really neat job and cleaned up extremely well after. They finished quicker than they expected and we are beyond satisfied. I plan to use this company again for other work. Highly recommend!!

Dr. Sparks installed a 240 volt outlet installed to charge my Tesla Model 3. Warren, the owner, was very informative and responsive over phone and text. After I texted him photos of my panel set up and he asked me a couple of questions, he quoted me a very competitive price over text and never deviated from that once work was completed. He was able to come within two days of me contacting him, and the work took about 3 hours. This company is certified by Tesla, and to maintain that certification they take photos throughout the process to send to them. The outlet works perfectly.

It's a pleasure to write this review of Dr. Sparks Electric for the great work they did installing an electric car charging station at my home. They were listed on the Tesla website as a qualified Tesla Wall Connector installer. I reached out to them through the Yelp app. I provided details & photos about my home and I was promptly provided with a very reasonable quote for both a Tesla and additional 220-volt charging station for our other electric cars. We scheduled an installation date about one month after my initial contact. Kirsten was always prompt & professional in her communications with me. They took care of the permit process and came to my house on the appointed day. Warren and Lance did a great job installing both charging stations & linking the Tesla unit to my car through my Wifi. The units look great & have worked just as I expected, providing worry-free & fast car charging at home. I highly recommend Dr. Sparks Electric!

Recently purchased a Tesla vehicle and quickly needed a 240 v outlet to be installed at my house. I was referred to Dr Sparks Electric after we struggled for hours trying to rewire a switch in a bathroom. I was very pleasantly surprised when they had it rewired and a new switch and plate installed with the painted screws to match (we had lost a few) in 10 or 15 minutes!  It is really worth it to have a pro do the job!  Highly recommend them!

What outstanding service from Dr Sparks when installing my Tesla wall charger. Courteous, professional, punctual, and knowledgeable. From making the appointment to cleanup after the job, these guys were perfect. Qualified, friendly staff that from now on will be my go-to electrician.

We wanted to install an electrical car charger in our condo, but due to a small circuit breaker it became almost impossible and  the breaker could not be increased because of HOA guide lines and regulations.

Had a great experience with Dr Sparks - so nice, personable, easy to work with, and professional.  Called a few electricians and some didn't even get back to me! I heard back from Warren same day and we were able to set a time that worked with my busy work and travel schedule.  

Lance and Warren showed up on time and did a great job! I needed two wifi wall switches installed and they were able to handle a few challenges that popped up with some crazy existing wiring. They made sure that I was able to connect the devices myself and ensured that everything was working.  They also made a point to clean the work space thoroughly & put my furniture back in order.

Warren and his team have excellent customer service. Very polite, responsive, and professional.  He's installed a number of EV chargers for my neighbors and came over to give me a quote for mine.  I have some pre-requirements from the city before I can proceed.  But I'm very satisfied with Warren and will use him for my electrical needs in the future.

I must say Dr. Sparks a.k.a. Warren and company (Greg and Lance) is top notch. Most places just have a tag line and that is where it ends but Warren truly lives up to all of it (Prompt. Professional. Priceless) and deserves the great reviews you see below.

Recently he rewired my garage for me, adding a bunch of new plugs and lighting options. The job went longer than initially foreseen due to some additional complexity but Warren did not use it as an opportunity to gouge the situation and in fact quite the opposite occurred. He stayed true to his original quote, communicated very well about finishing, showed up on time or ahead of schedule for agreed work times and, more importantly, did the job right despite the extra time required. Did I mention showed up on time and came back promptly to finish. A contractor that comes back? Amazing!

We have all had a contractor who misjudged a job or had a great front sales pitch but when it came down to getting the work done the quality was not there. However, this was not the case for Warren and his crew. Despite the additional time needed Dr. Sparks finished the job better than right with some small touches that made my lighting and power needs really great. After all of the work was done and the bill settled he calls me to follow up that evening (Warren had to leave for another appointment and let his guys handle the finishing touches) to make sure I was happy with the work. Then the next day he calls me out of the blue and comes over to finish a small item I asked about before the job as a curtesy.  I had totally forgotten about this and not even put on the scope of work.

We used Dr Sparks to install a 240V outlet in our garage for charging a tesla. We selected them from the Tesla website. I rarely write reviews online. The only time I write them is when the caliber of the service or product is so exceptional that I feel compelled to let people know.

For this reason, I am writing this review of Dr. Sparks Electric, because the service they provided me was top notch, and I was extremely impressed with their professionalism, trustworthiness, speed, pricing, and the end product they produced.

A few months back, we had some major damage to the ceiling in our home. Due to the damage, we had to remove part of the ceiling and bring in an electrician to fix wiring problems. Additionally, since part of the ceiling was removed, we also decided to go ahead and take the opportunity to have an electrician install recessed lighting throughout the ceiling on the entire downstairs level.  

So we contacted some friends to ask whether they know any good electricians. In response, two separate friends of ours gave raving reviews of Warren and his crew from Dr. Sparks Electric. So we decided to give them a try.

From the very first meeting with Warren and his crew, we were instilled with confidence in them. They looked through everything with extreme detail and gave us a very reasonable and transparent offer for the cost of their services. They estimated the job would take only 2 days, and guaranteed to stick by our agreement even if things were discovered to be worse than expected. So we hired them for the job.

After they began, it was clear we made the right decision. They installed 42 recessed lights and fixed all the electrical problems over the course of only a couple days. They made sure to perfect the alignment of the lights with lasers, and worked tirelessly to route electricity throughout the entire ceiling downstairs of which 60% was done through small holes in the ceiling. It was difficult and time consuming work, but they did it perfectly and with an attitude that made it pleasant to have them at our house each day.

Moreover, Warren was a man of his word regarding the pricing. Despite the need to take an extra day to compete the job due to unanticipated issues in the ceiling, Warren stuck by his original agreement to us and did not charge us anything extra for the additional labor. In short, he made a promise and he delivered without even trying to change the agreement based on the additional time that was required. Moreover, even with the extra day that was required, they still finished the entire rookie year within 3 days of work, which was exceptionally fast and efficient based on what they had to do.

In other words, Dr. Sparks Electric is the real deal. I cannot imagine using any other electrician than them in the future. They are fantastic, efficient, reasonably priced, adept at their craft, and trustworthy. If you are look for a quality electrician, then look here.

Warren and his guys are awesome!  I needed to get my Tesla wall connector charge unit installed in the garage up near the door so that I wouldn't have to pull my car into the garage every time I had to charge it.  I found Dr. Sparks listed as a certified electrician on Tesla's website.  We spoke over the phone a few days beforehand, I described everything to him, and he told me what it would cost to get the job done.  He showed up with his guys ON TIME and they did the job.  Very clean.  Very honest.  Very professional.  I highly recommend hiring Warren if you need any electrical work done.

I was looking for a new place to live and I needed to find a place where I could have my high voltage electric vehicle charger installed. Every time I looked a at place I emailed Warren to ask his opinion on the ability to install the charger. He always replied quickly and accurately.
When I finally moved into my new home I had no hesitation to give the job to Dr. Sparks.  The work was done quickly, the installation was neat and tidy, and when I got the bill I was surprised at how reason all and how far below the quote it was.

I had met Warren at a training course and was impressed with his honesty and openness. I had asked for his help as I needed some work done on my garage (outlets & lighting), my hall lighting needed updated as well as fitting a new ceiling fan in my bedroom.

WOW what an impressive crew, just acquired an 11000 square ft facility that had little offices that we requested be torn out prior to our move, the mess that remained was a wiring disaster.
Called in Warren and has professionals, they whipped the place into shape, he knew what to tear out and replace, suggested and followed through with ways to solve our electrical requirements, always helpful and always a straight answer.... Showed up on time, clearly labeled every outlet, circuit breaker and power panel. Warren and his team installed a cell phone booster (and fitted a steel mounting rod for it on the side of our house). He admitted it wasn't something he'd done before but they worked tirelessly (long over the estimated time frame) until it was completed and still stuck to his original quote. The work was done so neatly and professionally. Happy to say we now have full bars in a remote place in Malibu where previously we were totally unable to make calls! Fantastic service :)

In July of 2012, Dr Sparks installed four 42 flat-screen displays for the campus information system. Dr Sparks was chosen as the contractor, not only because it carried all the insurance certificates required by the university, but also because the promptness in appointments and timeliness in providing quotes.

Three of the four screens were mounted outdoors, with the fourth screen indoors, and all required hidden power and data cables. Some screens needed power re-routed to reach the location and two screens were installed on brick surface.

Warren Shook was onsite for all site inspections and was excellent in staying in touch about timelines and potential challenges. In the end, the screens were installed perfectly and on-time.

Dr Sparks wasn't the lowest quote received for the project, and quality of their work reflects that premium. I wouldn't hesitate in using them again for future projects.

My plumber highly recommended Dr Sparks.  A technician came by to fix an outlet that wouldn't reset.  The outlet didn't need to be fixed and was actually working fine.  (The technician told me that some dirt or grease may have gotten into it which caused my toaster oven not to turn on).  Dr Sparks did not charge me for the service call.  The next day the owner called to make sure that I was satisfied with the service.  I thanked him for not charging me for the tech's time.  I would recommend Dr Sparks and plan on calling them again the next time I need an electrician.

Last April (2013), Warren and the crew at Dr. Sparks went Above and Beyond when they installed our roof-mounted 10K Solar Array.  Clean and Beautiful, the system has been so effective that as of our Solar Anniversary it had produced 16% more electricity than Warren had promised...........  I now drive a Chevy Volt.

Recently, I had a bad experience with a local electric company and I had to have someone else come up and redo everything. This included trenching and running a sub panel to the garage and repairing the outdoor LED lights other company installed four months ago.  Warren of Dr. Sparks did an great job, he really was, as his card promises....punctual, professional and perfect .  His prices were fair as well.  If you really have a nice place and want it to stay that way call Warren.  It was really a pleasure dealing with him and he really knows his stuff.  He can even install a lightning rod for you if you are so inclined!  ( that is my next project!)  This guy will never have a bad review because he takes pride in his work!

My husband and I recently had Dr. Sparks out to do some work. Warren and his crew were amazing. On time and very professional. Long Story: I'd been helping a friend gets bids for work on some remodel work she wanted done on her new home.  While I personally had not had Warren perform work for me, he and I were in a networking group together for a few years and I had heard testimonials from others who had and got to know Warren from our weekly meetings.  When I was asked to get bids, he was the first call that I made.

The Bid Process: I talked to three people - Warren, another electrician and a general contractor (there was other work needed so why not).  The other electrician was a tool!  Had to beg give to give me a bid and was just an arrogant ass as he was doing it.  The GC gave a fair bid but I wasn't getting the warm and fuzzy that he knew what he was doing.  While all the bids were similar, Warren gave that little extra effort in answering my questions, explaining options and also going the extra mile to make recommendations to save time and money.

The Work:  The day the job was to start, I pulled up to the house 10 min early and Warren was waiting on me.  PROMPT.  We did another walk through and review of the project and work was started.  My friend needed two bedrooms wired for ceiling fans with the associated wall switches, added electricity for lighting above a closet, added power for a new microwave, needed power over the fireplace for a flush mount TV, and additional lighting in the vaulted kitchen ceiling.  The other guy said the walls would be tore up in order to get the power needed to all the locations.  The drywall repair actually needed was so minimal the painter needed to rebid the job because she over bid based on the other guys input.  Minimal mess and it was all cleaned up prior to him leaving.  Even the screws on the new switch covers were perfectly aligned. PROFESSIONAL.  Work started at 10 am and, even with re-walking the job, install and clean up, done in one day!  The recommendations he made help to achieve my friends function and decorative lighting goals on time and under budget.  He asked questions about the TV install and cable which made it easier for the AV guy to do his job which I found so thoughtful and proved Warren was not just there for his piece; he cares about the entire project.   PRICELESS!

After the Sale:  Work was done on a Friday.  Saturday morning, it was discovered that the week old gas dryer was not turning on.  After reading the manual for trouble shooting and checking plugs and breakers, I text Warren to ask any ideas?  We was quick to reply and provide not only suggestions on what to check to make sure it was not a power matter but also provided a referral for an appliance repair person if needed.  

The Piece de Resistance:  The Monday morning phone call to see if the dry issue was resolved,  SERVICE AFTER THE SALE!

So, if you haven't figured it out by now, Dr. Sparks ROCKS!

DISCLAIMER:  The only, ONLY, thing that could remotely be considered bad about my experience was that we had to wait a week to get on Warren's calendar.  He gets booked FAST so you may have to wait but I PROMISE it will be worth it.

Every once in a while you get lucky and find a skilled, reliable and reasonable professional and Dr. Sparks is it! Warren and his team have done a ton of work in my home and I'll never use any other electrician. Every person I've referred has come back and thanked me! On time, as honest as the day is long, and a local family man. Don't hesitate to call.

Dr. Sparks electric is awesome!! Warren set me up with a new lighting system with switches at each entrance to the building. He installed much needed extra outlets too. He cleaned everything up afterwards. Very good experience. He had great suggestions about how to set up the system. Very intuitive design. Oh and he showed up on time :) thanks guys!!

This is my first ever review and I couldn't not review the work of Dr. Sparks.

My husband and I give Dr. Sparks the highest of accolades for their work and communication.  Warren and his team installed recessed lighting in our kitchen/dining room/hallways/entry way, in addition to correcting a previous electrician's work on the outside of our home.  

Everything about Warren was and is professional.  From the moment we connected with him (found him online) through project completion, all things were done professionally and the attention to detail was an A+++++.   Aside from a call to make sure we were happy with his work (and great communication with us throughout the work process), he also recommended a patch guy (who was fantastic as well), Warren even followed up with us after the patch guy finished up to make sure we were happy with those results as well.  The icing on the cake was about 2 weeks after everything was done when we received a postcard from him thanking us for his business and how much of a pleasure it was to meet us and work with us.  WHO DOES THAT ANYMORE?  So refreshing to see top-notch customer service these days.

Oh, and I didn't even mention that in the middle of the process, I ordered a new chandelier for the dining room and Warren came back the next day after his crew was all finished up to hang it for me  simply out of the goodness of his heart.  

Stand up guy.  Top quality work.  Team was professional, always on time, cleaned up every day, and were very cordial.  A complete professional business all around.  Need I say more?  Well, other than that he's just a cool guy - someone that you find yourself saying to yourself he'd be fun to hang out with.

These guys did a great job with my office. Professional, detailed, on time. I waited a couple of weeks to get an appointment with them. I am happy I did. Warren is on my rolodex if I need any electrical work done in my office or home.

I am a real estate professional and property manager and have dealt with many contractors over the years.  Dr. Sparks, aka Warren, and his team are by far one of the best I have ever worked with.  They definitely live up to their tag line, punctual, professional, perfection, that describes them and their work perfectly.  My job was at an apartment complex to trouble shoot failing electrical systems.  Warren isolated the problem and repaired and replaced the system, even upgrading it and making it better than it was to begin with.  I will definitely be calling Dr. Sparks again.

I've gotten quite cynical about quality and competence in the workplace. But Warren and his co-worker are a throwback to bygone days and have renewed my faith! They are fantastic--personable, prompt, dependable, and responsible. Their work is superb, and they helped us out with a complex problem that my usually extremely handy husband simply could not solve. They were also very friendly; it felt as if friends had come to visit. They even sent us a thank-you note after the job was done! Who does that?! I don't know how the price compares to other electricians, but I thought they were very reasonable considering their expertise and all the work they did. I can't recommend them highly enough. Totally worth it.
