I have been a plumber in east county since 2006 doing service and repair. Before then I was in new construction plumbing custom homes/remodels/commercial buildings for 5 years. I have never ran across a plumbing issue I couldn't figure out or fix. I have done custom homes in Del Mar, Point Loma, Rancho Santa Fe, many commercial businesses including restaurants. If you need a plumber, Chris at CML Plumbing is your guy! We have had numerous plumbing issues in our condo, but we finally needed to get professional advice when something just wasn't right with our hot water heater. I found CML on Yelp, and I sent a long email to Chris about all our past plumbing issues, and he called my husband to set up an appointment in the next few minutes. Chris and his associate came out a couple days later, checked out our fixtures, gave us advice on how to get off hard water residue, and installed a new hot water heater. The next day something was still not right, but Chris came over within a couple hours at no charge to us. He figured out we needed a new water regulator, and since that was installed everything has been great! My husband said Chris was an extremely nice guy, and we were so impressed with his level of work and professionalism, especially when he needed to come back. We like to use smaller businesses, and it was also great that Chris, the owner, was the person we communicated with and that came out each time. We will always use CML Plumbing!
I'm going to write a review. Why? Because I'm so tired of contractors coming out to my home after scheduling a time out of my precious days off from work only to have them not even give me a written quote. Maybe it's my airline pilot/engineering background that intimidates them into not wanting to work with me - that stereotypical difficult customer. Fine. Then tell me to find someone else. Chris came out to my house and gave me a verbal quote of around $4000 to upsize my gas line from 3/4 inch to 1 1/4 inch. Chris told me he'd follow up with a written proposal afterwards but nothing came of it. Not even a followup afterwards. We are in contract with another plumbing company, but I figured I would write a review to reflect the annoying lack of followup from companies that have established reputations with Yelp because they pay them more money to be placed at the top of the search list.

When Home Depot delivered my washing machine they immediately said they couldn't install It because the valves were frozen. Said I needed a plumber. Rescheduled me for next Tuesday.
That's when I called Chris. He came a couple of hours later put the new valves in and installed my machine! I will be asking HD for a refund on their installation...

CML ...most notably Chris and his son... came to my water rescue in a very timely manner. He even made time to pop over to my elderly neighbor who was also have some water issues. He put me in contact with a restoration company (wait for their review Flood Busters. haha) and am so pleased with what could of been a disaster in my home. He then came back and finished the temp fix and didn't charge me a armandaleg!! Thank you Chris and CML. Highy recommend this company for your plumming needs.

Our water heater broke and Chris was very helpful and knowledgeable in getting it replaced. Service was very quick and professional. He inspected the situation the night before and he and his team were able to get it all replaced and running the next day!

COMPETENCE MATTERS A LOT!
I recently contacted Chris when the main fresh water line to my house started bubbling up through my driveway. He suggested Pulse Leak Detection to pinpoint the location, then get back to him if I was still in need of help. Within a couple of hours, the source was located (fortunately under asphalt) and I was able to dig it up and repair it myself. Although I did not ultimately use Chris for the repair, he impressed me with how he handled the situation. I will keep him in my bookmarks for any future plumbing needs.
Chris was able to come out on short notice. He saved the day! Great work and trustworthy. Nice guy, too! I will definitely call him again.

Chris came to my home within a day of me calling for a slab leak. He was kind and professional over the phone. He worked right away on three different options and quotes for my insurance company. The day of the repair, I trusted him and his team in my home alone. He contacted me right away with issues he found and gave me great direction on what he believed my insurance would pay for. This was less then another option but he looked out for my family and guided us and was spot on. He completed the task within his time frame! Josh came out and installed new washing machine shut off valves for my mother in law. The price was better than quotes from other companies and he was very professional. Will be using CML for future plumbing needs.
I found CML with search on the internet and decided to try them after reading many of the reviews, they turned out to be be spot on, CML did a great job for me. Most surprising was the problem that I thought was a plumbing problem wasn't, as explained to me by Chris, it was what I was doing that caused the problem so there was nothing for him to do. Another pleasant surprise was that he didn't charge for the house call. I mentioned to him that the house had no outside drain clean outs and that I had trouble with a toilette. He looked into the clean out situation and found a way to get access to the clean out without much trouble and he also recommenced a much better toilette. CML is now my go to plumbing company.

I had 4 different plumbers come assess our problem. Not only was Chris the nicest and easiest to talk to, but he also had the lowest quote. Chris and his associate arrived promptly every morning and stayed all day through the duration of the job (full house repipe). Very professional and high quality work.
Chris gets an A+ for service. So easy to call and schedule - called on Saturday night and he made it out Monday morning. He gave me a 20 minute call ahead so I could make it home. Chris from CML came out to look at a shower faucet that wouldn't stop leaking in my master bathroom. I had other companies give me outrageous estimates to cut open the wall and change the valves but I didn't want to go that far if possible. Chris was able to find the replacement parts and repair the faucet so it stopped leaking and even better he gave me a great price to do it all! Chris replied to my Yelp message right away and arrived at our agreed time even before I did. He solved my issue immediately and was very pleasant and helpful. He didn't even charge me for his trip and that is not something you find very often these days. I will definitely call him again if/when any other issues arise. I highly recommend. If you want to hire a Plummer with integrity, then you found the right place! Chris is a man of his word, very knowledgeable, and reliable. I called him yesterday and advise him of a water leak. Chris told me if he had time he would swing by my house to take a look at my pipes. To my surprise, Chris arrived at my house, access my water leak, and gave me options for repair. I have to say I was expecting a huge bill but to my surprise Chris quoted me a fair price. I totally would recommend Chris to for all your minor and major Plummer needs. I talked to Chris at 7:30 on a Saturday night on a holiday weekend when my bathtub backed up. He was very helpful, spending time to help me fix the issue. It turned out the issue resolved itself and he didn't need to come out, but I appreciated the time and effort. I will be using him in the future for any plumbing issues that I end up dealing with.

I have needed Chris' expertise twice now - once was a landscape plumbing emergency and he was able to come out within a few hours. Problem was fixed quickly and price was reasonable. He gave me detailed post-care instructions and I have had zero issues since.
The second time, he saved me close to $1k by letting me know an easy fix around my issue. I don't know much about plumbing so he could have taken advantage of that and gotten a good sized job out of me. He is honest and fair and great at his job. I can't recommend him enough!
We had a gas leak and due to emergency circumstances a few days before Christmas, regrettably went with friend's recommendation instead using YELP. Quickly realized we needed another plumber and called CML based on their good yelp reviews. Chris was very professional and knowledgeable. Chris responded within an hour of requesting a rate. set the date for working and was on time. he worked diligently all day and I felt safe leaving him alone while I had to go run other errands. He had to redesign my whole wall to add a sink to my service porch. He is very friendly, easy to talk to, and very conscientious. He even looked at a toilet in the house that wasn't flushing well and quickly fixed the problem. When all was said and done the job looked magnificent and we have a plumber for life!

I am new at this but just had to let it be known the Chris is what old fashioned service was. Friendly, considerate, capable and helpful with ideas on how to make it workable until he can fix the problem. He came out at 5:00 at night to repair my main line in the front yard that was leaking very fast. He is a man of his word. I recommend him for quality work reasonable prices and timely repairs.

Our master shower drain needed to be jack hammered out and replaced. Chris came out and quoted us a price for this which was inline with our final price. Josh performed the job and was pleasant. The job took longer than expected because of an error in shipping made by their supplier. Once the product came on they got back to our house the soonest they could. Definitely got the the most honest and up front feeling from Chris than other plumbing companies that came out to quote us.

Came home and found an inch of standing grey water in my home. Called CML and Chris came out within half an hour. Quickly diagnosed the cause and corrected the issue. However, he didnt stop there. CML is terrific! My husband and I were so grateful to Chris the owner and Jimmy. We had a cold water slab leak under our staircase inside the house. This had been our 3rd leak in 37 years so we decided to bite the bullet on expense and once and for all reroute all the remaining water lines to above ground. Their quote was very reasonable. It was a challenging job because none of the manifolds and lines were in logical places. Chris was EXTREMELY methodical in calculating where to cut the drywall as to minimize the damage and cost to repair the drywall and paint. He cuts straight lines and makes it easy for the the repair. They worked in our home for four and a half days and each day they were conscientious, polite and very professional. They treated our home like it was their home. Chris and Jimmy are a great team working together. They are like brothers.
We are so happy we went with CML because they did a fantastic job. It is a relief not to worry whether a pipe might break in our slab any longer. We sincerely want to thank them for making an unfortunate situation doable.

Chris really pulled through in my time of need. I called after dark about a sewer blockage, and he came after finishing a job, after working all day. He offered me a free quote, advice, and even a little labor. He called a friend of his and they made a quick fix to get me through the night. They did all this without charging me an arm and a leg. Chris is good, and reasonably priced, so he is busy. He was not able to help complete my project for a few days so I had to, regretfully, hire someone else to finish the job. Please call Chris for an honest, affordable plumber.
I have had plumbing problems for many years due to root intrusion in my sewer main line. I had several plumbing companies out to bid the job and after learning how costly this job would be, I decided to keep searching for someone more affordable. I called Chris at CML, he came out, gave me a quote and explained the entire job to me. After talking to him I knew he was the man for my big job. He stood out from the rest. He was very professional, knowledgeable and confident that he could do the job. His price was very reasonable compared to the other outrageous quotes I received.
We scheduled the work and everything went as planned. He replaced my entire sewer line (110 ft). Without any hangups. There were no hidden cost or surprises that came up. He went above and beyond including working after dark to make sure I wasn't without a bathroom or running water. I will use CML for all my future plumbing needs.

It doesn't surprise me to see all the five star reviews on here given my experience with CML Plumbing.
A pvc pipe joint connected to my pool fill started leaking. I tried to fix it myself using my below average plumbing skills, then decided to call in a pro. I found CML on Yelp and called them up. Chris called back within 10 minutes and came out to my house the same day. He fixed the problem in no time. I found Chris to be professional, respectful, and very reasonable price wise.
I'll be using CML for my future plumbing needs.
My husband called on a Sunday and they were able to diagnosis our problem over the phone and provide a reasonable quote upon request and our shower was fixed on Monday morning. Great response time, very professional, personable and reasonably priced. Plumbing is definitely something we don't try and fix ourselves, so having a reliable plumber is a necessity. I will be passing this information along to family and friends. I highly recommend them.
A friend recommended CML Plumbing to fix a leak in the line leading to one of my toilets. Chris responded promptly to my call and was able to send Josh to inspect it the same day. Josh fixed the leak but also informed me that my toilet was cracked, and that that was a safety hazard. I didn't know that, so appreciated the information. Found out a second toilet was cracked, so arranged with CML to replace both. CML installed one toilet, and it works perfectly. Need to wait to install the other, as Josh showed me that there is subfloor damage near the pipe; have to fix that before CML can come out again. I am very pleased thus far with CML's work and heartily recommend them.
Chris was awesome! He's very knowledgeable and knows exactly what to do with most all concerns at hand. I called him at last minutes notice due to ARS Rescue Rooter couldn't make the scheduled appt they gave me after waiting all day. Chris arrived even quicker than he indicated, which was an A++ in my books, and he reccomened some other things I should do with my laundry room plumbing and was nice enough to say he'd do the work upon request. I'm very confidant he'd do a great job. He's extremely reasonable in his rates as well. I will most definantely use him again.
Chris was Great! He immediately responded to my call and told me it would be a couple days before he could do the repairs ( It was not an emergency situation). He explained everything he was doing throughout his repairs to our bathroom faucet and toilet. Chris was polite and professional.
Sunday night (of course) figured out there was a broken pipe in our front yard. My husband did a quick patch to at least let us shower and while he was doing that I was on Yelp asking for quotes, Chris replied within about 20 minutes asking a few questions...then said he could be there 9am the next morning. Another company quoted $450 without asking any questions and the 3rd company didn't reply. Chris called about 8:30 saying he'd be there in 15 minutes. Showed up on time. He looked at the pipe said it would be $175-$200 for the repair. 20-30 minutes later repair done...$175. We have a house built in 1956.....we've had other plumbing issues and imagine we will again, our first call will be to Chris next time.
Chris offered us so much knowledge & assistance with good options for replacing our water heater! He was very informative & honest about what options would be best and helped steer us away from unnecessary purchases. We really appreciated his help!!
Chris is the owner and the absolute model of a hardworking, skilled American.
We had a leak in the upstairs bathroom that damaged the downstairs ceiling. When I asked for a quote on yelp, Chris was the first to reach out, explain that he didn't do any of the damage control, coordinated a water damage company to call us and get the process started.
Once everything was opened up and dried out, he communicated clearly with the wife who was home during the day, came out, fixed the leak within an hour and was on his way. All the while explaining what he was doing so there were no questions.
Unluckily for us, there were MULTIPLE leaks. Again, he coordinated with the damage control company to open the walls up further, came out and fixed the second leak within an hour again..
And lastly, while the subfloor was exposed in the upstairs bathroom, the kids were taking a bath and we started getting more water leaking to the downstairs. Chris came out with less than 2 hours warning on a Sunday night just to find that the kids had been splashing and it had leaked down between the toilet and the exposed subloor, not plumbing at all.
Chris is a rare breed of person who is looking out for you and takes pride in his work. Hopefully a long-ish yelp review encourages you to contact him for any type of plumbing work you need because we definitely want to see him succeed as much as he wanted us to be happy with his work and we are DEFINITELY happy!

Wow! Chris responded to our request quote within 5 minutes (it was 9pm). He quoted us a very affordable and fair amount for our stopped kitchen sink. Being local to El Cajon he mentioned that he could have a tech out tonight. Being a bargain hunter that I am I decided to take a moment to get a couple other quotes. Needless to say, I'm a stickler for a prompt response. I decided to go with CML Plumbing.
Chris said that he was about 20 minutes out, but he knocked on the door within 15 minutes. He was very courteous, professional and quick. I had a disturbing leak and drain clog happen all at once. Chris did not hesitate to respond to my concern. He was there in less than two hours. For one guy this is not always possible but it when there is an emergency I know he'll find time.

I dislike the large companies that over charge and make you wait and really act as if they do not need your business. They may not but they are in the wrong business when plumbing issues are sometimes of the highest priority.

I sent a service request via Yelp and Chris responded back quickly. He arrived within the time frame stated and when he arrived, he quickly went to work. Had to give CML plumbing a call after my spouse and I took it upon ourselves to fix a shower valve late at night(FAIL) after a couple frustrating hours we called, spoke to Chris around 9PM. We text him photos of the issue and he gave us quotes/options. We requested for him to just come on over on short notice which he said he was more than willing and told us his ETA. I would highly recommend CML plumbing to anyone. Chris called me back immediately after I inquired about a leak issue in my home. He explained all of the possibilities given my description. Though he was extremely busy, he still answered all of my questions thoroughly and even came to my home that same day. He and Jimmy were extremely knowledgeable and professional. They saved my home from further damage due to a slab leak. I can't thank them enough and they are the only plumbers I will ever call!

Yet another plumbing problem and involving my bathroom subfloor prompted me to call CML plumbing to come to the rescue. As I said in my previous yelp, I really trust CML; the owner Chris is now part of my service provider team and I am a lifer.
Chris really goes above and beyond to help his customers. My subfloor problem prompted me to talk to him about a new bathroom I am adding. He gave me excellent advice about the location I was considering, advising me not to do it in that area due to how my plumbing is in the crawl space. This changed my whole remodel idea to a less expensive, and more doable design.
On top of all that, when I told him of the subfloor bids for the existing bathroom, for which he was fixing the toilet leak, he referred me to a good contractor he works with to do the demo part of my subfloor at a price significantly less than what I had bids for.
I highly recommend Chris, and would trust his expert advice.

As a real estate professional, I'm always looking for responsive trades people. Chris at CML is that man! Called him for a replacement of a water heater for one of my clients. He not only responded, but did so in a timely, courteous manner. Then completed the job within a day or two of my call without the homeowner present. His pricing was very fair. So happy to to connect & will be calling CML again any time I have a plumbing need.
Chris and his apprentice came out to work on my washing machine drain. He texted to give an eta, and came promptly at the time. Brought out the tools to do the job and got to work. Unfortunately, it wasn't resolved.
Chris recommended jetting my pipes and recommended another local company to do the work. He also didn't charge me as he left. Chris is very ethical, honest, and commendable. He definitely has my business in the future.

I had a water leak from the upstairs bathroom. Chris called and recommended a water damage cleanup company to come out first. He then showed up later that day to evaluate and provided an estimate. He worked directly with my home insurance claims adjuster as well. When the first repair exposed additional problems he kept me informed the entire time. Chris definitely goes above and beyond for his customers. I hope to not need his services for an emergency again but if I do he's my first call. And if I happen to do any remodeling in the future I'll insist that the general contractor uses Chris for the plumbing work.
Chris is absolutely amazing! He came out to my house to help me with an emergency. He was very thorough and knowledgeable and did an excellent job! He even removed the debris from the project that he worked on. I would highly recommend Chris to anybody who has any type of plumbing issue. You won't regret it.
Chris came out promptly after spending time discussing my plumbing job on the phone. We had him install a gas line from my roof down into my kitchen so I can replace my electric stove with a gas one. He was extremely thorough and is very competitively priced. I had several other plumbers quote me the job and Chris' was the most impressive. His advice was right on and his work was very high quality. He made sure when cutting holes in my drywall to keep everything clean. I highly recommend CML Plumbing!
Thank you CML Plumbing! We found out that we had a propane leak and I needed a plumber asap. Chris the owner came out and pressure tested our line at 7:30 at night and figured out where the leak was. He was very informative and called 1st thing the next morning with an estimate. Based on his Yelp reviews I didn't bother shopping around for more estimates. He was out a few days later and replaced the whole main propane line feeding our house. Thank you for your help we appreciate it!
After being stood up by another company, I contacted CML at about 6pm on a Saturday when my water heater went out. I have 3 young kids and having no hot water is a huge inconvenience/problem. Chris, the owner, was at my house within the hour and promptly completed the necessary repair. I was ecstatic- fair price, exceptional customer service, and best of all my water heater is working again! Chris was truly great, I would definitely use CML again and I highly recommend this company.
I found this company on yelp and contacted Chris I was able to get super fast service scheduled for the next morning. Chris and his worker came on time. Very nice people! They got to work right away and finished super quick. I'm 100% satisfied and I'll be using them again for any plumbing issues that arise in the future! Ps. The price was very reasonable as well!
The sink in our bathroom has been draining slowly. My husband tried to fix it himself but couldn't figure out the problem. My husband found CML plumbing on Yelp and messaged Chris on a Thursday. Chris told my husband he would be able to come over and look at our sink the next day. I was surprised at how quick Chris was willing to take a look at the issue. I was expecting him to not be able to come out until at least that following Monday. Chris called before he came to give me a timeframe of when he should be at my house. Chris showed up, took a look at the sink, cleared the drain pipe, cleaned the faucet spout and readjusted the stopper. We've been living in this house for over a year and I didn't even know the stopper could be adjusted. He then informed me about the pressure of my water. He even tightened the pipes under the sink. Chris was very friendly and informative. You can definitely tell he knows his stuff. He also gave me tips and tricks on how to clean my faucet spout, shower and shower head and how to remove any calcium build up around my shower and sink fixtures. We would definitely recommend him to anyone!
Excellent professional workmanship at a very reasonable price. They installed a new hybrid hot water heating system and a new touchless kitchen faucet for us. We plan on using these professionals in all of our future plumbing jobs.
