ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER
Ron Degner began working for small, independently owned plumbing companies right out of high school in 1994. He attended a four-year trade school during his plumbing apprentice period, and after completing the apprenticeship he passed the City of Cincinnati Journeyman exam.
As a journeyman plumber Ron continued working with small plumbing companies. In 2006 he joined a national plumbing chain as a field manager. After one year on the job he was promoted to general manager of a branch, a role he held for seven years before purchasing a national franchise location in 2015.
In 2015 Ron started a new phase in his career when he bought Affordable Plumbing, Rooter and Water Heaters, now Zest Plumbing and Drain. The company continues to stay dedicated to providing our customers with top-notch service at reasonable prices. We recently got bad news that the old poly pipe needed to be replaced throughout the house, I had spoken with three different plumbing companies for second and third opinions when I decided to go with the zest guys. Will not lie it was not cheap but they started it the next day and swore they would be done in three days. On day three it was getting late and still had a long way to go. So the guys on site called in reinforcements. Next thing I know we had a swarm of plumbers on site. True to their word the third night we again had water. Would not wish this on anyone, but if it does these guys can handle it. Professional friendly and even patient with my questions.
Affordable plumbing has been to my home a few times-unclog main line. Replace the water heater and fix dripping faucets. I've always been happy with their work and the employees attitudes. customer service is their top priority-this is who I call for all my plumbing needs

My gas hot water heater went out over the weekend due to a leak, so I called Zest Plumbing and Drain to come out and take a look.
The field tech from Zest, Ronnie Thomas, was outstanding. He was quick to diagnose the source of the leak, he then quoted the job for me and talked through all the options I had. Ronnie was knowledgeable and prompt with a response on each topic we discussed. I would highly recommend his professional services to anyone that is in need of plumbing and drain work done.

No matter your plumbing concern, these are your guys. We discovered a pretty bad leak the first day in our new house (not ideal) but Zest made the repair process smooth and painless. I was able to easily schedule an appointment online for the very next day. Paris and Len did a wonderful job, took the extra time to make sure their work was quality and even more time explaining everything to me. Could not have found a better company. After dealing with another local plumbing contractor for over 30 years who could not fix my problem, I found Affordable on Nextdoor . They gave me next day service, arrived at the time frame they stated they would, and fixed the problem within a half hour. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Very professional and reasonable prices.
Really good service and good work. Gave me a high level estimate over the phone. When I postponed the work, they were very flexible. They came back and completed the work, answering all of my questions about maintenance and construction of the water heater. The estimate allowed me to do some comparison shopping easily and there were no surprise charges added on. I would definitely call them again. The scheduling app was easy to use and I got text links to my request which made it easy to verify the service requested.
We've used this company for our water heater and plumbing services and both times they have been amazing. Both of the men who came were honest and helpful. We will use them every time! Super happy with their service.
Called Zest plumbing as I had a back up in the drain from the washing machine. They quickly diagnosed the problem all for a fair price and started work the next morning. They were efficient, polite, and when they were done, everything was cleaned up immaculately.

First time with Zest. Made an appointment online and a tech was able to come out the same day! Really great how they provide free estimates for everything so you know what you're getting into. Dalton was very friendly and knowledgeable with our small fridge issue. He fixed everything quickly and answered all of our questions before leaving. Affordable plumbing is the best. We are landlords and we just discovered this company recently.
We have used them 3 times now and our experience has been great each time. The owner, Ron, has put together a company that is 100% focused on customer service and trust.
Both of the technicians, Curtis and Ben, have been great. They are professional, courteous and capable.
The name is also very appropriate. Their charges are very reasonable and you know what you are going to pay, before they start the work.
As landlords, we have been disappointed with many other plumbers. But Affordable Plumbing will continue to be our go to company for as long as we own rental properties.
Do yourself a favor and call these guys next time you need a plumber.

Ben has been out to our home several times since we moved in last May and he's always top-notch. He's not only a good plumber, but incredibly professional. I have been looking for a reputable plumbing company for what seems like forever and I've finally found them! I was so impressed with their service. The owner Ron actually answered the phone when I called! Plus he was happy to provide me with an estimate over the phone. My plumber Curtis was prompt, professional, courteous and efficient. Affordable Plumbing, Rooter and Water Heaters (AP) is on my list of vendors to call. Yep, I created a list of go to vendors so that I'm not scrambling when, not if, our home needs servicing. I love how responsive/communicative AP is. I get a text telling me the time slot I am in and providing a picture of the service person that will be in our home. Now, as to pricing...I don't know if I would say AP is the most affordable, but I am a firm believer in the mantra You get what you pay for. I will always call on AP, unless/until I can afford them. LOL.

Benjamin (and Ron) handled things professionally, neatly and on-time. If you need plumbing repairs check others first then have Affordamble in to do the job quickly, cleanly and expertly!

I was going to post a 5* review for Affordable Plumbing and the plumber, Ben, just for coming by and giving me an estimate before we even had them do any work for us. The reason for this is I contacted Affordable Plumbing on Monday asking for an estimate of replacing our water main gate valve with a ball valve. I said I could send them pictures and maybe they could give me an estimate from those. Diana, I believe was her name, said no, they want the plumber to come by and look at the job. My first thought was that meant an automatic $49-99 service call, whether any work was done or not. I was pleasantly surprised to hear there was not a service call fee.
Ben showed up on time, after receiving a text saying he was on his way. He gave me an estimate. I then asked if he would also look at the leaking water bib in our garage. He politely did and said he could fix that easily with a tightening of a bolt, which he did. He said think about the estimate and then left. (it was a complicated job as the house stucco had incorrectly been built around the water main plumbing. It was not a simple job to fix. Ben clearly explained everything that would need to be done.)
After Ben left, I had my wife look at the plumbing. I went up and touched the water main valve which immediately came off shooting a powerful water stream. I quickly called Affordable Plumbing and asked for Ben to come back as we had a big problem. Ben showed up quickly and did a temporary fix on the water main valve. He said he could come back Thursday and fix it, but it would involve having to break into the stucco. We said yes!
Thursday, Ben did a great job in replacing the needed pipes and valves while moving the pipes out of the stucco. He did it quickly at what we felt was a reasonable cost. He answered every question we had. The day before, he had explained why we needed to get the job done but was not pushy whatsoever.
Ben also helped show us how to properly use our swimming pool's autofill, at no charge. It is a rare time that we have had a professional act like he truly cared about our well-being. And I guarantee you, Ben was not acting. He truly had concerns that the job was done properly and well.
Any future plumbing jobs we need will be done by Ben from Affordable Plumbing. He is the best we have ever seen! Thanks, Ben!

I hired this company to replace a main water line that had sprung a leak. When I met with the estimator/repairman I specifically told him I wanted a single piece of all copper pipe from the meter to the house. The reason the original line failed was that it was cheaply done with copper and plastic by the builder. I told him repeatedly I wanted ALL COPPER.
When the crew came out to do the job they tried to do a rip off job by using pex plastic and copper, saying oh it's as good as copper. Fortunately they were being supervised and their scheme was witnessed. I confronted the estimator/plumber and forced him to come back out and redo the job with all copper.
The crew also left the yard and the neighbors yard a mess.
AVOID THIS COMPANY!!

Excellent service!!! Our home warranty brought these guys in on few minor jobs. They were great. Later on, unfortunately, our warranty didn't cover some things; we called them up because we trusted their advice and opinion. Curtis was very informative and knowledgeable. The best certified plumber I've seen. Prices were reasonable, considering the work put in. They are very considerate and respond in a timely matter. We will always use this company for any plumbing or pipping issue!
My local handyman referred this plumbing outfit for a job. I couldn't write this positive review fast enough. Ben, the plumber that showed up assessed my situation which has been troubling me for months remedied the problem and the pricing was extremely affordable as the name suggests! Tyler was great to work with. I was out of town when I was notified that my outside pipes were leaking water. I called Zest Plumbing and had Tyler, a plumbing tech, at my home within an hour. He kept in contact with me by phone. Tyler finished the job within a couple of hours. I would highly recommend Zest Plumbing.
I don't generally do reviews, but I had to because Ben Thomas is simply great. As a engineer who has done a lot of contracting, I have worked with a lot of plumbers and plumbing companies. Hands down, Affordable Plumbing is the best in every regard. By the way, give Ben a raise, he is the only plumber I want working on my projects.

I have used Affordable Plumbing three times now and would never call anyone else! They are easy to schedule, send a confirmation email/text, then let you know when someone is on the way. The first time more work than was quoted (plumbing hidden in the walls) and the technician was more than happy to put in extra time to really address the problem. FINALLY found a plumbing company I can use again!
First convenience! You can order services online 24/7. You can call (and they actually pick up) and make an appointment and having both options was fantastic.
Second service! You will get email and text confirmation of your appointment. When it's time for the visit you'll get a text 30 minutes or so in advanced with a picture of the rep AND A LINK FOR LIVE TRACKING OF THE VEHICLE! I was really amazed to see this. It is so nice to be able to track deliveries on the phone so why not repair people?
Third value! The repair I needed was a new garbage disposal. Sure I could order one online myself and have them instal it. That would have only saved a little and wasn't worth it. I would have bought an under powered version too. They had the real brand ISE disposals and it was much nicer than what the last plumber installed. They gave me a good price, arrived the next day as promised and it's even quieter to boot.
5 stars, they'll give you a quote for free. Give them a try. Look at all the 5 star reviews, that's how I found them!

Responsive, knowledgeable, and a fair price. At 5:30 PM my water heater decided to let go. I called and spoke to Ron, he was out to my house in 20 minutes and replaced the water heater in an hour and a half. I would highly recommend this company

I have used Affordable Plumbing in the past, and had a great experience, so I used them again without hesitation. This time, I had purchased a Bosch dishwasher from HomeDepot, and used a 3rd-party delivery and installation company, who delivered the dishwasher to my house but wouldn't even attempt to perform the installation. (That's another story.) So, I called Affordable Plumbing. I was able to schedule an appointment right away. The technician called ahead of time when he was on his way, and arrived right on time. First he replaced a faulty valve, and even more of the plumbing under the kitchen sink, making it a much better set-up. Then, he installed the new dishwasher, including a custom wooden panel (matching the cabinets), which ended up being a bit tricky, but he was able to figure it out and make it work. Professional, friendly, highly skilled, and reasonably priced - what more could you want! I will use Affordable Plumbing for all my future plumbing needs, and I highly recommend.

Len came out on time and was very knowledgeable and friendly. He explained everything very clearly and installed a new faucet and parts quickly.
There was no mess left behind and he also took time to ensure I knew how to shut off the main water valve for emergencies.

Have done many different things over the past few years - repairs, install new toilets, several new faucets, etc. Very responsive to calls and diligent about their work. Competitive on pricing. They make a big effort to be convenient - on time, tidy. Owner Ron is always responsive and so pleasant to deal with. Tempe is a second home, so we are often not there when work is done and feel totally comfortable trusting them to go in and work without being present. Good people.
We had a small slab leak in our utility room from our water heater to our kitchen sink. Mike and the owner quoted the job with a military discount and was over to repair it the next day. I am a repeat customer of Affordable Plumbing AZ. This time we had noticed a decrease in our hot water output. We had them come out to take a look. I told Paul the first plumber technician that I had also noted a warm spot in our hallway. He discovered that there was a few leaks in the slab and plumbing in our guest bathroom. He recommended a leak detection company that was able to determine the leak location and recommend a fix and Affordable was able not only able to fix the next day (Thank you Richard) but changed out the old copper piping to newer PEX to avoid a repeat issue. This was especially important as it was going to be the first day of the school year for our daughter. In the end we also needed a new hot water heater but if they did not find that leak that day we could have had much worse damage than we did. I should add that when we found a hot water heater that had more of the options we wanted they were honest and told us it was even better than the ones they stocked and gave us a fair price for installation.
Richard was professional, timely, did what he said he was going to do, and did not push extra services. Even when there was an issue by breaking into our stucco to try to get to some lines that did not need to happen, Affordable Plumbing made it right. The work was not cheap but the cost seemed fair for the work that was done overall. I will continue to utilize them.

I needed a connection installed for my natural gas bbq. They called me back promptly and were available to do the work when I needed them. Curtis my tech knew what he was doing, was quick and did a great job. Their fee was very reasonable. I will use these guys again and highly recommend them!
I do most of my own work and like to think that I know what I'm doing. I also know my limits. My new construction home uses PEX piping, which isn't something a homeowner really shouldn't be messing with.
I needed a 1/2 FPT fitting sweated on to a 1/2 toilet supply line. The problem is that the 4 copper stub was connected to PEX. I didn't want to sweat near my PEX, and didn't have the expansion tool or expertise to remove and reconnect the copper.
I called Zest late yesterday afternoon. They scheduled an estimate and explained that, if I agree with the estimate, the work could be done then. This was in contrast to the other three plumbers I had called, none of whom have gotten back to me yet.
Zest was to be out between 8-12. Randolph was here at 8:00 AM. Their estimate was 50% of the minimum quoted to one of the other top 10 plumbers here on Yelp. I agreed and the job was complete 10 minutes later.
Randolph was extraordinarily friendly, and even let me watch him sweat the fitting, and explained what he was doing every step of the way. He was just a fantastic guy.
I received an invoice in my email with pictures and a detailed explanation of what was done. Their use of tech from appointment setup to Randall's arrival was leading edge, and very convenient.
Not only was my job done quickly, and at a really fair price, but I've now got a plumber that I can call and depend on when I need one. That's worth a lot.
Affordable Plumbing sent out Ben in December to update several items on an older home I had recently purchased (new shower knobs, metal angle stops, hose bibbs, metal lines to the washing machine, etc.). The work was exactly what I was looking for.
However, over time my shower knobs started getting loose and last weekend one came out of the wall. I had never seen that before, but I called the company back on Monday and they sent Ben (same one as before) here on Friday to fix the shower knobs (free of charge). He showed me how a plastic piece had broken, and got a replacement from his truck to take care of it. Now they are good as new, and I enjoy taking a shower again.

Reached out to them about an issue with my garbage disposal. Received a text after making an appt with the tech's picture and details. He showed up promptly and was very polite and helpful. The problem was minor and he didn't even charge for the service call as a result. How many companies do that? Will use Zest for any plumbing needs in the future!!
Really good service and good work. Gave me a high level estimate over the phone. When I postponed the work, they were very flexible. They came back and completed the work, answering all of my questions about maintenance and construction of the water heater. The estimate allowed me to do some comparison shopping easily and there were no surprise charges added on. I would definitely call them again. The scheduling app was easy to use and I got text links to my request which made it easy to verify the service requested.
This company was sent out to me through my home warranty service.
The guy came out, gave me his opinion, and left me still with a leak - in order to go back to the office to work up an estimate.
2 days later, they gave me an estimate for $1900 for an issue that cost me $200 to repair 9 months earlier. (And, after he left- since he left me with the leak-i personally went to home depot, spent $30 and 2hrs time, to stop the leak he left me with)
I would definately get estimates from other companies before using these guys -I'm sure this price gouging is not a fluke.

I have used Affordable Plumbing in the past, and had a great experience, so I used them again without hesitation. This time, I had purchased a Bosch dishwasher from HomeDepot, and used a 3rd-party delivery and installation company, who delivered the dishwasher to my house but wouldn't even attempt to perform the installation. (That's another story.) So, I called Affordable Plumbing. I was able to schedule an appointment right away. The technician called ahead of time when he was on his way, and arrived right on time. First he replaced a faulty valve, and even more of the plumbing under the kitchen sink, making it a much better set-up. Then, he installed the new dishwasher, including a custom wooden panel (matching the cabinets), which ended up being a bit tricky, but he was able to figure it out and make it work. Professional, friendly, highly skilled, and reasonably priced - what more could you want! I will use Affordable Plumbing for all my future plumbing needs, and I highly recommend.

This is an amazing company and I can't say enough great things about their work and the entire staff! We had a huge plumbing situation that took several days to complete. Our entire house had to have new plumbing. In spite of having our floors opened up with cement and dirt everywhere, they kept everything covered, organized and cleaned up each day. I needed the two water valves under my bathroom sink replaced. Calcium build up prevented me from turning them off all the way. This morning I broke one trying to install a new faucet and water flooded my room until I found my water shut off. I called Zest for an emergency repair and spoke with a very pleasant lady. She was able to send a technician out, early afternoon. Soon, she texted and emailed me his photo and arrival time. I met with my technician, Paris Psarros, when he arrived and explained what I had done.
He was very professional and put me at ease; so much so, I asked him to complete the installation of the new faucet as well. He gave me a bid for each one, and discussed the repair and installation with me for approval.
He was outstanding. The work he performed was perfect. He took the time to take before and after photos, which he sent to me. He left the room meticulous. Before leaving, he made some safety checks and was able to increase my water pressure (we enjoy showers). I could not be more pleased and definitely recommend both he and Zest.

I purchased a Kohler faucet for my master bedroom bathroom to replace the very old faucet which became an eye sore & had a broken hot water handle. Zest sent out Dalton for the installation who provided service that was beyond outstanding. He was on time, replaced the faucet and also replaced the very old shut off valves (which were difficult to turn) with the newer quarter turn types. He was so nice, efficient & professional with excellent communication & technical skills. He checked the faucet & valves multiple times before leaving, left my bathroom sparkling and made sure I had his contact information for any issues or questions. Responsive, knowledgeable, and a fair price. At 5:30 PM my water heater decided to let go. I called and spoke to Ron, he was out to my house in 20 minutes and replaced the water heater in an hour and a half. I would highly recommend this company

Affordable plumbing is the best. We are landlords and we just discovered this company recently.
We have used them 3 times now and our experience has been great each time. The owner, Ron, has put together a company that is 100% focused on customer service and trust.
Both of the technicians, Curtis and Ben, have been great. They are professional, courteous and capable.
The name is also very appropriate. Their charges are very reasonable and you know what you are going to pay, before they start the work.
As landlords, we have been disappointed with many other plumbers. But Affordable Plumbing will continue to be our go to company for as long as we own rental properties.
Do yourself a favor and call these guys next time you need a plumber.

My gas hot water heater went out over the weekend due to a leak, so I called Zest Plumbing and Drain to come out and take a look.
The field tech from Zest, Ronnie Thomas, was outstanding. He was quick to diagnose the source of the leak, he then quoted the job for me and talked through all the options I had. Ronnie was knowledgeable and prompt with a response on each topic we discussed. I would highly recommend his professional services to anyone that is in need of plumbing and drain work done.

Hired them to fix a septic smell in our house. Their employee did a partial smoke test of one vent and found a problem with the toilet. He said that should fix it, but if not, he'd come back free of charge and do a smoke test in the other vents. It did not fic the problem. The company manager told me that he's not responsible for this employee because he was fired. I pointed out that I relied on the employee and that the company took my $$. The manager insisted they had no responsibility for anyone they fired. BEWARE -- they do not honor their commitments.
The technician, Paris, with Zest Plumbing, who came out yesterday, provided excellent service. He was detailed, professional and exceptionally skilled. We will continue to use this business for any of our plumbing needs.

Our kitchen sink was leaking and the garbage disposal was broken. Zach, the technician from Zest, was great. We called Saturday afternoon and he came Sunday morning. Very polite and professional. Had everything fixed at a reasonable price in less than an hour. I would definitely use them again.

Called Zest plumbing as I had a back up in the drain from the washing machine. They quickly diagnosed the problem all for a fair price and started work the next morning. They were efficient, polite, and when they were done, everything was cleaned up immaculately.

I used Affordable Plumbing to install a gas line, because I hated my electric stove and wanted a gas stove. I first called a well known company and I was quoted a ridiculous price. Decided it wasn't worth doing the project. I decided to call Affordble Plumbing, and it was 1/2 the price of the 1st quote, so I decided to move forward.

I had Affordable plumbing out to replace some fixtures, Ben was knowledgeable, friendly and a great communicator explaining the steps required. I experienced great customer service from the beginning to the end and responsible pricing. I found a plumber for a long time, will definitely use them in the future.

These guys are GREAT! We would use Affordable Plumbing again and again! We had a major backup of water and determined it was the main line to our septic system. We had Roto Rooter out first. They wanted $375. Then we had the $49.95 guys out and it was lots of BS and now we need to put a camera down the llne - then we had a third guy out who was told the entire details and we were quoted $99 but again we have to use the camera in the line for $200 more. Then we found Affordable through and online search and good reviews on Angies list.
Their young tech Curtis came out first. He had a hard time clearing the line but he at least found the cleanout (the first three guys could not). He recommended we have the septic pumped which we did (after 15 years) and it still was sluggish so Larry came out in the evening and spent an hour working and working on it and got it!! And, he was a gentleman and did not charge additional over the first service call. $120 was all I paid. I felt guilty!

We had a slab leak and the first company wanted to just jack hammer up the slab and start looking. Caesar came out from Zest and was here two hours and quite meticulous to ensure even at the city inlet meter there was a slow leak. Our leak wasn't consistent and he took the time to reproduce and be 100% sure where it came from. 2 days later Zest were back and did a reroute to that portion of the house. Professionally done, meticulous in getting it complete and were thorough.
Their scheduling process is always fast and you get updates, tracking of the plumber on a map in route, pictures of all the work, etc.
We've had several poor (or worse) plumbers since living here, but finally glad found someone we can trust.

This is an amazing company and I can't say enough great things about their work and the entire staff! We had a huge plumbing situation that took several days to complete. Our entire house had to have new plumbing. In spite of having our floors opened up with cement and dirt everywhere, they kept everything covered, organized and cleaned up each day. The work quality is outstanding. The owner Ron even came out to see the progress and asked us how things were going. Don, Bill, Tyler, Len, and Paris are extremely knowledgeable and professional. I needed a connection installed for my natural gas bbq. They called me back promptly and were available to do the work when I needed them. Curtis my tech knew what he was doing, was quick and did a great job. Their fee was very reasonable. I will use these guys again and highly recommend them!

First convenience! You can order services online 24/7. You can call (and they actually pick up) and make an appointment and having both options was fantastic.
Second service! You will get email and text confirmation of your appointment. When it's time for the visit you'll get a text 30 minutes or so in advanced with a picture of the rep AND A LINK FOR LIVE TRACKING OF THE VEHICLE! I was really amazed to see this. It is so nice to be able to track deliveries on the phone so why not repair people?
Third value! The repair I needed was a new garbage disposal. Sure I could order one online myself and have them instal it. That would have only saved a little and wasn't worth it. I would have bought an under powered version too. They had the real brand ISE disposals and it was much nicer than what the last plumber installed. They gave me a good price, arrived the next day as promised and it's even quieter to boot.
5 stars, they'll give you a quote for free. Give them a try. Look at all the 5 star reviews, that's how I found them!

I used Affordable Plumbing to install a gas line, because I hated my electric stove and wanted a gas stove. I first called a well known company and I was quoted a ridiculous price. Decided it wasn't worth doing the project. I decided to call Affordble Plumbing, and it was 1/2 the price of the 1st quote, so I decided to move forward.
I loved everything about my experience with Affordable plumbing from the quote, the customer service by Benjamin and the people in the office. They were always very attentive, responsive and professional. They were able to get the job done way quicker than I anticipated which is a plus.

I hired this company to replace a main water line that had sprung a leak. When I met with the estimator/repairman I specifically told him I wanted a single piece of all copper pipe from the meter to the house. The reason the original line failed was that it was cheaply done with copper and plastic by the builder. I told him repeatedly I wanted ALL COPPER.
When the crew came out to do the job they tried to do a rip off job by using pex plastic and copper, saying oh it's as good as copper. Fortunately they were being supervised and their scheme was witnessed. I confronted the estimator/plumber and forced him to come back out and redo the job with all copper.
The crew also left the yard and the neighbors yard a mess.

Our kitchen sink was leaking and the garbage disposal was broken. Zach, the technician from Zest, was great. We called Saturday afternoon and he came Sunday morning. Very polite and professional. Had everything fixed at a reasonable price in less than an hour. I would definitely use them again.

Excellent service!!! Our home warranty brought these guys in on few minor jobs. They were great. Later on, unfortunately, our warranty didn't cover some things; we called them up because we trusted their advice and opinion. Curtis was very informative and knowledgeable. The best certified plumber I've seen. Prices were reasonable, considering the work put in. They are very considerate and respond in a timely matter. We will always use this company for any plumbing or pipping issue!

Caesar came out from Zest and was here two hours and quite meticulous to ensure even at the city inlet meter there was a slow leak. I am a repeat customer of Affordable Plumbing AZ. This time we had noticed a decrease in our hot water output. We had them come out to take a look. I told Paul the first plumber technician that I had also noted a warm spot in our hallway. He discovered that there was a few leaks in the slab and plumbing in our guest bathroom. He recommended a leak detection company that was able to determine the leak location and recommend a fix and Affordable was able not only able to fix the next day (Thank you Richard) but changed out the old copper piping to newer PEX to avoid a repeat issue. This was especially important as it was going to be the first day of the school year for our daughter. In the end we also needed a new hot water heater but if they did not find that leak that day we could have had much worse damage than we did. I should add that when we found a hot water heater that had more of the options we wanted they were honest and told us it was even better than the ones they stocked and gave us a fair price for installation.
Richard was professional, timely, did what he said he was going to do, and did not push extra services. Even when there was an issue by breaking into our stucco to try to get to some lines that did not need to happen, Affordable Plumbing made it right. The work was not cheap but the cost seemed fair for the work that was done overall. I will continue to utilize them.
Kane Clark from Zest Plumbing and Drain is amazing! I'm an out of state landlord. The hot water heater broke and my tenant was without hot water. Zest Plumbing was able to visit the property and replace the water heater the next day. It was easy to schedule an appointment via their website. Hired them to fix a septic smell in our house. Their employee did a partial smoke test of one vent and found a problem with the toilet. He said that should fix it, but if not, he'd come back free of charge and do a smoke test in the other vents. It did not fic the problem. The company manager told me that he's not responsible for this employee because he was fired. I pointed out that I relied on the employee and that the company took my $$. The manager insisted they had no responsibility for anyone they fired. BEWARE -- they do not honor their commitments.

We recently were having problems with our hot water heater and, as fait would have it, it went out the day before we had the worst snowstorm (yes I said snowstorm) at our home in north Scottsdale which overnight dropped seven inches of very wet and heavy snow wrecking many of our trees and other outdoor plants. We were relatively traumatized with two major problems happening at once. Affordable Plumbing basically went the extra mile getting a crew out to remedy the issue and our concerns the next day. Their attention to caring included me calling the owner of the company at home at night on the weekend to ask questions about the old heater and what I should be doing about the heater noise and failure and then sending a crew out the next morning to get the process of putting a new water in. These guys are GREAT! We would use Affordable Plumbing again and again! We had a major backup of water and determined it was the main line to our septic system. We had Roto Rooter out first. They wanted $375. Then we had the $49.95 guys out and it was lots of BS and now we need to put a camera down the llne - then we had a third guy out who was told the entire details and we were quoted $99 but again we have to use the camera in the line for $200 more. Then we found Affordable through and online search and good reviews on Angies list.
Their young tech Curtis came out first. He had a hard time clearing the line but he at least found the cleanout (the first three guys could not). He recommended we have the septic pumped which we did (after 15 years) and it still was sluggish so Larry came out in the evening and spent an hour working and working on it and got it!! And, he was a gentleman and did not charge additional over the first service call. $120 was all I paid. I felt guilty!
I own a small family business and these guys are the same. They get it that customer service and get the job done without the upsell - like all the big guys - is how it should be done.

Michael presented well, and therefore represented his company well. He parked in an appropriate place, kept his tools and belongings in a small and manageable area, and left no mess behind.
The price was surprisingly affordable, and I'll surely use this fine company in the future.
These folks are on my speed dial. Yesterday a plastic valve in a PVC line on our patio broke and started spraying water, and Ben was here within an hour. He explained all the options to me clearly, quoted extremely reasonable prices, did good clean fast work, and didn't mind me watching and learning. (I know I've called them many times before, but I don't remember those details- just that they're worth calling again!)
They were willing to come out and give me a free quote. The plumber I went with gave me a quote based on photos I sent him. So they were basically out bid.

I was going to post a 5* review for Affordable Plumbing and the plumber, Ben, just for coming by and giving me an estimate before we even had them do any work for us. The reason for this is I contacted Affordable Plumbing on Monday asking for an estimate of replacing our water main gate valve with a ball valve. I said I could send them pictures and maybe they could give me an estimate from those. Diana, I believe was her name, said no, they want the plumber to come by and look at the job. My first thought was that meant an automatic $49-99 service call, whether any work was done or not. I was pleasantly surprised to hear there was not a service call fee.
Ben showed up on time, after receiving a text saying he was on his way. He gave me an estimate. I then asked if he would also look at the leaking water bib in our garage. He politely did and said he could fix that easily with a tightening of a bolt, which he did. He said think about the estimate and then left. (it was a complicated job as the house stucco had incorrectly been built around the water main plumbing. It was not a simple job to fix. Ben clearly explained everything that would need to be done.)
After Ben left, I had my wife look at the plumbing. I went up and touched the water main valve which immediately came off shooting a powerful water stream. I quickly called Affordable Plumbing and asked for Ben to come back as we had a big problem. Ben showed up quickly and did a temporary fix on the water main valve. He said he could come back Thursday and fix it, but it would involve having to break into the stucco. We said yes!
Thursday, Ben did a great job in replacing the needed pipes and valves while moving the pipes out of the stucco. He did it quickly at what we felt was a reasonable cost. He answered every question we had. The day before, he had explained why we needed to get the job done but was not pushy whatsoever.
Ben also helped show us how to properly use our swimming pool's autofill, at no charge. It is a rare time that we have had a professional act like he truly cared about our well-being. And I guarantee you, Ben was not acting. He truly had concerns that the job was done properly and well.
Any future plumbing jobs we need will be done by Ben from Affordable Plumbing. He is the best we have ever seen! Thanks, Ben!

At that time they came out and installed a new unit and the technician was very professional and friendly. We started having an issue with the unit not heating fully so I had them come back to look at it. I was put on the calendar for the very next morning! When the technician arrived he was very pleasant and on time. After about 15 minutes he knocked on the door and told me that all that was needed was to flip the circuit breaker!! Apparently someone (and I can't figure out who that could be) turned it off!! He turned it on, heard the unit gear up and showed me where to find it for next time. The best part is NO CHARGE!!! I apologized for bringing him out for such a silly oversight and he said It's my job! Don't apologize. Zest will be our recommendation to any who ask and will be our go to from now on!

The guy came out, gave me his opinion, and left me still with a leak - in order to go back to the office to work up an estimate.
2 days later, they gave me an estimate for $1900 for an issue that cost me $200 to repair 9 months earlier. (And, after he left- since he left me with the leak-i personally went to home depot, spent $30 and 2hrs time, to stop the leak he left me with)
I would definately get estimates from other companies before using these guys -I'm sure this price gouging is not a fluke.

Affordable Plumbing, Rooter and Water Heaters (AP) is on my list of vendors to call. Yep, I created a list of go to vendors so that I'm not scrambling when, not if, our home needs servicing. I love how responsive/communicative AP is. I get a text telling me the time slot I am in and providing a picture of the service person that will be in our home. Now, as to pricing...I don't know if I would say AP is the most affordable, but I am a firm believer in the mantra You get what you pay for. I will always call on AP, unless/until I can afford them. Affordable Plumbing sent out Ben in December to update several items on an older home I had recently purchased (new shower knobs, metal angle stops, hose bibbs, metal lines to the washing machine, etc.). The work was exactly what I was looking for.
However, over time my shower knobs started getting loose and last weekend one came out of the wall. I had never seen that before, but I called the company back on Monday and they sent Ben (same one as before) here on Friday to fix the shower knobs (free of charge). He showed me how a plastic piece had broken, and got a replacement from his truck to take care of it. Now they are good as new, and I enjoy taking a shower again.

Don took great care of me. I needed a quick plumbing inspection on a home that we were purchasing and he was able to schedule a tech to come out in just over a day. Price was reasonable.
Zest plumbing and drain was so friendly, easy to work with, reliable and very responsive. This is our second time using them, and Tyler as a technician. We are very picky about who we have in our home, and we could not have been happier with the work Tyler did!! 10 out of 10 would recommend. We will be lifelong customers. We had two old toilets replaced after 23+ years of usage. We bought upgrades at Lowe's ( American Standard Champion models); Our tech, Ben Thomas was very efficient and honestly performed an excellent job. We are very happy with the service provided and look forward to future projects with this company.

Great experience with Affordable Plumbing. Easy to make an appointment online. Notified when the tech was on the way with a text message. The tech Curtis was on time, professional, quickly and efficiently put in a new water heater. Have us a quote before moving forward ortho any repairs and stuck to that quote. I am pleased with the price, work and professionalism. My go to plumbing coming from now on!
These folks are on my speed dial. Yesterday a plastic valve in a PVC line on our patio broke and started spraying water, and Ben was here within an hour. He explained all the options to me clearly, quoted extremely reasonable prices, did good clean fast work, and didn't mind me watching and learning. (I know I've called them many times before, but I don't remember those details- just that they're worth calling again!)
