Established in 2002.
Caldera Power Services was open on nights and weekends servicing primarily residential customers while owner Chris Caldera worked full time in the commercial lighting industry. In March of 2013 the Sylvania Lighting branch where Chris was working closed. He decided to run Caldera Power Services full time. Caldera Power Services now services residential and business customer's electrical, lighting and signage.

Owner Chris Caldera worked for Best Fluorescent, Amtech Lighting, and Sylvania Lighting. In those roles, he handled more than 13,000 assignments as simple as ballast changes for fluorescent systems and as complicated as managing high profile high-rise building, government and financial institution projects, some valued at over $1,000,000. In his 30 years of experience, Chris earned numerous certifications and credentials including:

I had Chris come out to install a NEMA 14-50 in my garage for charging an electric car. Chris got back to me immediately and worked around my schedule for the installation. He arrived on time and was extremely courteous. He was very open about pricing and gave me different options about cost depending on the placement of the outlet. Install was done and everything worked perfectly and the last step was getting the city inspector to approve the work.
Long story short the city inspector mistakenly claimed that the work Chris did was not up to code. It surprised the both of us. But working with Chris we were able to find the electrical code that proved the work was in fact done correctly and he was able to contact the inspector the next day to get the permit in the end.
Overall just an overall great experience with Chris and appreciate his responsiveness to everything.

We hired Chris for the third time a few days ago and he did another masterful job. This time he installed for us floodlight security cameras around the house and it came out perfect. He's masterful at installation and it came out seamless. The floodlight cameras look like a part of the house. The thing about Chris is that he's a perfectionist. So not only did the installation come out amazing, he also cleaned up afterwards and it looks like he was never there. We're already planning our next project for him early next year. He's so good at what he does, I wish we could give him 10 stars!
I previously had a 10-50P receptacle in my garage from previous owner. I use an adapter/converter to a 14-50 for my Tesla. Well, after 4+ years of usage, it finally burned. Based on other reviews, I gave Caldera Power Services a try. Chris answered the phone and with some photo exchanges, provided suggestions, and scheduled an appointment. He was on time, courteous and professional. I now have a NEMA 14-50 receptacle with some safety cautionary measures which Chris suggested. Initial test with charging looks good. Chris, the business owner, was quick to respond and easy to communicate with. He sent a friendly reminder the morning of the appointment and was punctual (that's HUGE for me!). I had outlets in my living room that stopped working. I contacted Chris, and he was able to come out the same day. He was great at explaining the tests that he ran and what the results might mean. He found the problem and fixed it quickly. He did such a great job that I have two other projects I've asked him to work on! He's very professional, helpful, and reasonable.
My LED lights have been flickering now and then for a while and I wanted to find out why/make sure it's nothing serious. Chris came on time and helped me check voltage & amp here and there, offered professional suggestions and shared his experience on dimmers and lighting. He is very courteous, noticed me upon arrival, wore shoe covers inside the house, and answered all my questions patiently. We didn't do much change in the end but we were able to eliminate some major concerns. I really appreciate his time and him having a high standard for his own work.
Chris Caldera and Nico replaced two electrical panels in our older home. It was a big job and we were impressed how organized and neatly they did the work with minimal electrical down time. Every night they cleaned up everything and made sure everything was working properly. Chris figured out the best way to handle everything and corrected some things that weren't done right also. We had accumulated several small electrical jobs at our house that needed to be addressed. We were glad that Chris was willing to help us with them. I spoke with him just before the holidays, and Chris said he was already booked up but would contact me in case anything opened up. He kept his word. He arrived promptly at our home. He listened to what we wanted done and offered solutions. He helped us locate parts & fixtures that needed to be replaced and went to get them for us. He worked efficiently and cleaned up afterwards.
I had read Chris's Yelp reviews before calling him and they are true to our experience working with him--Chris deserves all of the great reviews he receives. We recommend him highly and would not hesitate to call him again for future electrical work at our home.
Chris transformed our dark, uninviting garage into a garage flooded with convenient light! And he also did it under a time crunch.
My husband and I are doing a big garage fix-up project and asked Chris if he could wire our garage with a new switch, outlet, and lighting all within a very limited amount of time (which was very unrealistic of us), and we had a budget constraint too. Despite that, Chris graciously and patiently worked with us, providing power-ful wisdom and en-light-ening advice.
We are extremely happy with his high-quality work as well as his honest and helpful communication, and are so thankful for the nice bright lights that we have in our garage now. I am no longer as reluctant about going in there in the evening to do laundry...haha.

I am not a frequent Yelp reviewer but when you are so lucky to have found someone as great as Chris, it's worth sharing. I was so lucky to have connected with him. He is kind and honest and incredibly professional.
What I thought was going to be a pretty straight forward job turned out to be much more complicated - and maybe not even possible - but he figured out how to do it and his fee was reasonable considering the amount of work it required. (He installed a Tesla brand car charged on the side of my house.)
Other people I had called were either too busy or extremely expensive or both - mostly both. Chris came when promised and did the job beautifully without rushing off and being completely transparent with me as to what it was going to cost and how long it would take to complete. I wish him continued success because he deserves it.
Chris came highly recommended by someone who gives me great referrals. He did not disappoint! Chris was on time , professional, trustworthy, knowledgeable, patient, and kind.
I'd like to start by saying a couple of electricians wouldn't even touch the job that I needed done. I showed Chris what I thought was the most challenging part of several electrical tasks. He was willing to take the job.
Not only did he complete all the tasks I needed done, he did it in such a way that he was cognizant of saving me money as well. My house was built in 1924. You can imagine the crazy stuff that was ok back then. My house is extremely large and has many different levels. He searched high and low for all the different ways in which to resolve these tasks. I have more than three electrical panels. I could go on and on about his skill professionalism and amazing work ethic.
I will definitely recommend him to all my clients friends and anyone who asks me for a referral. If there were 10 stars I would've given them to him.

Chris is an amazing master of his trade! He was very kind, professional, and reasonably priced. He laid out my options and did not try to up sell me in any.
He was booked solid for the next few weeks but offered to keep me on standby in case he had some time free up. He contacted me one weekday around 4pm and offered to come by. Thought he was just coming to take a look but he was willing to do the job right away and spent the next couple hours getting it done. Tesla charger installation came out just the way I hoped it would.

I can't say enough good things about Chris and he comes with our highest recommendation! He was busy and had a conflict, but he came anyway, made accommodations, and after an exhausting, four-hour, fact-finding mission, discovered the underlying problem, and solving our very puzzling electrical mystery! he was very patient and exhausted all possibilities until he found the problem. Thank you, Chris! You saved our home from a potential fire! Note, this socket was in a closet behind a row of clothing so it was not visible.
Chris helped us install a hidden outlet behind our TV for a much cleaner installation. He advised us of all the possible things we could run into during this job beforehand. He used a number of tools to plan out determine the best possible route by which to move the outlet wiring, and only then did he start the job. Though he had discussed a number of possibilities that could have complicated the job, everything went perfect and was done quickly and cleanly.

With an uptick in mail and package theft in my neighborhood, we decided to install some Ring products to monitor our house. I had all the products Chris needed for the install, but one turned out to be a dud and caused a buzzing sound. Fortunately Chris had a spare and everything turned out alright. After troubleshooting that one piece, all the other installs were a breeze.
I had to wait a month or two to get scheduled in, but there's a reason why Caldera Power Services is this busy. They're worth the wait for their customer service and professionalism.
Chris was very prompt, very courteous, professional, and helpful. He diagnosed my problem quickly and repaired it on the spot. He went beyond this, however. I asked if he might explain the situation, and he proceeded to take the extra time to draw two wiring diagrams to help me understand what had changed and why the former wiring no longer worked. I not only got a quick repair, but I also got an education. Excellent service!

I have used Caldera Power Services for two major electrical jobs in my home: adding a 240v line for my EV charger and an electrical panel replacement. I started by requesting a quote from Chris to repair a couple of outlets at my house that had reverse polarity as well as install a GFCI outlet in one of my bathrooms (all issues carried over from prior homeowner). Chris was quick to respond to the RFQ with a very reasonable quote and he was able to schedule me in the following week.
During his repair/installation, he took good care of the delicate and old (circa 1942) wiring and educated me on the health of the wiring for future reference. Additionally, he made sure to clean up after his work was complete, which some contractors often times neglect. Even though there were some challenges along the way that required him to install additional parts, he kept to his original quote.
I would definitely recommend Chris for any of your residential electrical needs!

I contacted Chris several weeks before to make an appointment to install 2 lamp post lights on brick posts and replaced 3 dusk-to-dawn outdoor lights near my garage. At the time I contacted him he was extremely busy but based on the reviews I decided to wait. It was definitely worth the wait.
Chris remembered when I was interested in scheduling him to do the work and called me several days ahead to confirm our appointment. Initially I wasn't sure whether I needed to replace the outdoor lights or there was a problem with the electrical but he was able to determine by removing the fixture and testing the power it was a problem with the fixtures. After he replaced him he confirmed all the lights were in good working order and what impressed me even more he added silicone around the fixture to ensure water wouldn't seep behind the fixture to cause potential issues in the future.
I've been reluctant to hire an electrician based on Yelp reviews as I've had some bad experiences in the past. But not this time!!! Chris is my go to electrician for all future needs!!!

Had Chris out to the house a few weeks ago for an issue with my new garage door. He installed the wiring necessary for the opener to run on its own switch. In searching for a local electrician on Yelp we decided to try Chris based on the reviews we read. We were satisfied with his work and it was first class.

Chris was AMAZING! never heard of him until we looked on yelp and saw he had 5 stars and over 40 reviews! He came to install a Tesla charger, 1450, at our house. He came around 4 pm and finished around 7 pm. I just can't believe how nice, professional, and smart he is! At first the breaker kept going off when we tried to turn the charger on, so Chris took it upon himself to go to Home Depot and get the part and finish the job. We had a outside panel upgrade done by Chris. The man is meticulous in his work. He is the first worker that came to our home with his own trash bucket. No dirty fingerprints left on my walls, or tiny pieces of wiring left around either! His work is top quality, as is his work ethics. It was an A+ job.
On Chris's recent visit he added a new service line for our pool pump and made several additional electrical upgrades to the pool system. He added a few electrical plugs in our living room and a few outdoors with weather proof covers.
You will always get superior and reliable service when you hire Chris. He goes the extra mile to assure the customer is satisfied with the services he provides.
Chris came over and assisted with an automatic light switch I tried to fix. He helped fix my mistakes and did it in an extremely professional matter. He took the time to fix my problem and did it a lot more efficient than I could. I would request his services again. Chris did an excellent job on repairing a lamp post for our HOA. It was late in the afternoon and he went out and got the parts that he needed for the repair and worked to finish the job even after it got dark.

I had a breaker go out on me. I have an older home so the breaker that I required was a bit olderanf harder to find. Chris was able to locate the breaker since the major hardware stores didn't have it in stock. He replaced the breaker and secured the cover to my breaker box which had become loose over time. Extremely friendly and professional. I would highly suggest him for any of your electrical needs.

Chris is a very professional, honest and exceptional electrician. I had some challenging electrical issues in my house and he went well beyond my expectations and solved them all. I am about as particular about my house as they come, and everything was completed to my satisfaction.
His prices are very reasonable and fair.
Very reasonably priced and very fast.
We needed him to fix some poorly installed lights with weird electrical connections that was done by someone who was either lazy or didn't know what they were doing. He fixed it, checked the rest of our electrical lines, and installed a light switch all under 2 hours. Love him.

I meant to leave a review much sooner. Chris has been a great electrician and has helped us over the past year or so with our houses different electrical repairs or updates. Today he helped us with restoring power in the back of the house and replaced our outdoor outlet. In the past he replaced a bathroom exhaust fan, replaced a broken light switch, installed a new ceiling light, and replaced several of our outlets, installed a floodlight to the garage, and fixed the doorbell chime while installing our new Ring doorbell. He also had caught a wiring job done wrong going from the house to the garage and fixed that one of the times. We have an old house also, so it's nice to have a reliable electrician. Thanks Chris.

Called tonight expecting to leave a voicemail so that someone would call me back first thing in the morning. Surprisingly, Chris answered the phone. I explained that there was a loud buzz in one of the outside walls of my house. It had been going on every 1 to 2 minutes for an hour prior to me calling Caldera Electric. After 38 minutes on the phone, we figured out the issue was my pool pump/motor which kept trying to turn on. As a result of the electrical in the metal conduit, that was apparently creating the noise. I turned off the breaker and no more noise. Had thought we were going to have to punch a hole in the wall in the house. What a relief that we found the issue! Pool man is coming tomorrow. Cannot thank Chris enough for his patience and his endless questions which kept prompting me to continue to search for the source of the noise. THANK YOU!!!

Chris is the consummate professional! I was getting shocked in the bathtub for reasons I couldn't begin to understand. Chris came out and inspected my fusebox, conducted some tests, got suited up and crawled under the house to find the problem. The source of the problem eluded him (we'd have had to have gone into the walls in the bathroom to further the investigation), but the Chris DID solve the problem and even provided pictures of the fix.
I'll definitely be calling Caldera Power Services for any future electrical needs!
Chris Caldera did an amazing job today. He solved a very difficult problem caused by a sloppy/unprofessional work by a previous company. He was very thorough in his problem solving. And he never gave up to the challenge. I thought my electrical panel issue was a hopeless case. All I could do was pray that he figures out a way. Wow!! I finally have found the electrician I've been looking for! Chris does great work, is on-time, prices his work fairly and is meticulous. He installed two outdoor security lights and a programmable light switch all done with a high level of professionalism and care.

I can't say enough good things about Chris, who recently completed a massive update of all the electrical wiring in our (old) house. He is thorough, explains things clearly, consults you often, makes suggestions without upselling you, and provides extremely clear and thorough estimates and invoices. He had some great suggestions for us that we were happy to take (tamper-proof outlets for our small children, a few spots where an extra receptacle would be handy), and he was really considerate, cleaning up after himself, patching, and even working on quiet tasks during our kids' naptimes. It was so appreciated, and made a month's electrical work go as smoothly as it possibly could. Chris's rates are reasonable, and he was also open to working with my father-in-law assisting, which helped keep costs under control as he discovered that our old house had way more problems than we'd known about before the walls were opened up. We're really happy with the quality of the work (it passed inspection with flying colors), and grateful to Chris for his stellar job!
One of my favorite aspects of Chris's communication is his estimates and invoices. You can see a clear breakdown of estimated costs for various items (both parts and labor), and in his invoices, he shows you a comparison between the estimate and the actual cost and an explanation of the difference. It's awesome. I highly recommend him!

We needed two new outlets on a wall to mount our new television. I had a few electricians come asses the scope of work. The other electricians came, looked at my wall, said they would email an estimate and left within minutes of arriving. The other electricians never even sent an estimate.
I looked for other electricians in the Monrovia area on yelp and Caldera Power Services came up. I called and Chris answered. He stated he has a lot of work but is always willing to take on new customers. He came that night to look at our wall. He then looked at the attic and then worked his way into the crawl space beneath the house.
To my surprise Chris had an estimate sent to my email within 12 hours of his visit to my house.
I decided to proceed with the work.
Chris Caldera did a fantastic job. He has a very calm demeanor and is an easy going guy. He seems to enjoy the work he does and he has made a lifelong customer in me.
Caldera Power Services is the way to go.

We were remodeling a house that was over 50 years old and was concerned about the electrical wiring. We found exposed and outdated electrical wiring in the attic, which is major no no. Our entertainment system and TV's were also plugged into outlets that were not grounded.
We found Chris through a recommendation from our local handyman. We called him up and he was able to come the following day. Chris was able to explain the challenges with the current state of wiring and made recommendations.
During the rewiring process, he patiently worked through a claustrophobic-type environment for hours on end, both in the crawl space and attic. It took about 2 full days to complete the job and made sure the area was clean before he left. He also sent before and after pictures to show the work he completed.
On a side note, we also had a mechanical gate opener installed at the same time from a different vendor and Chris found the wiring was done poorly. He even went above and beyond and discussed with the gate installer to get the job done right, in which they complied. He certainly pays attention to detail, always thinking safety, and cares about his work.
Chris is courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable about electrical systems. We'd hire him again in a heartbeat.
Chris is prompt, fair and good at what he does. He has done numerous jobs for us at our business and several homes and has had great reviews from anyone whom I've referred to him.
Chris has worked on my electrical problems several time and each time his response time is prompt and his work is impeccable. He is thorough, thoughtful and skilled in his work such that once I hand the electrical problem over to him, it is solved and remain solved. His price is very reasonable for the quality of work performed. He is now my go to electrician .
Chris provides excellent and honest service and I appreciate his willingness to respond quickly to an inquiry and his ability to fit a project into his schedule, even after 5 pm. Just this week I had an outdoor light fixture with an obsolete bulb, and Chris was able to tinker with a new housing so that we could salvage the fixture but update it with a newer bulb.
Back in May, I had a long list of items for him to investigate, repair or replace, and he worked through that list very efficiently. What I especially appreciate is his ability to troubleshoot and offer options within different budgets (good, better, best). That's important for my apartment complex budget. He also identified a somewhat dangerous obsolete electrical wiring in a crawl space and was able to eliminate that problem.

We had a small repair - needed a new GFI box on an outlet. I logged onto YELP and got the name of six electricians. Three never answered their phone. Two had voicemail, but didn't call back for six hours. Chris answered immediately and took the job. He came on time. Worked fast. Identified the problem immediately and fixed it. I am very happy that we now know who to call any time we have electrical needs. Excellent service, nice fellow and consummately professional. You won't go wrong with Chris.

I called Chris yesterday morning for an emergency installation of an outlet. I could tell he had a busy schedule, but he made the time to come out that very day. Chris is the consummate professional and I was EXTREMELY impressed. He even fixed a faulty outlet in my kitchen. I write very few reviews on Yelp but the quality of service compelled me to share my experience. Chris will definitely be my go-to guy on anything electrical related. He is top notch.
Chris retrofitted our fluorescent lights to LED lights on 9 fixtures and did a great job!! Two lenses broke and he returned to fix the situation. He also worked on our hall light that was out. He found a short behind the fixture and fixed it. He was very professional in his work and was a joy to work with. He did everything requested at a reasonable rate. I highly recommend him.
Chris has done work for my wife and me at our home, and most recently here at my office. We have always been beyond satisfied with his work, and have never hesitated to refer him to others. He is the consummate professional and operates with a conscientiousness that is very rare to find these days. The work he completed last week at my office was complex and required intricate configurations and wiring. The price he quoted and the time he said he would be spending at my office were spot on. I needed an electrician to install a ceiling fan in the bedroom. There was no power source so he had to tap off the closet light. I had tried several times to find someone that would do this job, but never had any success. I decided to call Chris after reading all the reviews on Yelp and I am so happy I did. He responded the same day with an email estimate and was able to schedule the job in about a week. He arrived exactly on time, did an excellent job, and explained everything to me.. Chris did an expert job installing garage lighting, running wiring through conduit and hooking the lights to a combo switch and receptacle. He showed up at the time he promised, completed the job with attention to detail, and cleaned up afterwards. I couldn't be happier with the work he did for me.
