No Reply. Called and described the work I needed for an estimate, lady that answered the phone said a project manager would get back to me. No reply. I wonder if the owners know how much money they are losing because of poor communications with in their company. To your reply....no you did not!!!!!! The lady I spoke with said a project manager would contact me....I WAS NEVER CONTACTED!!!

Saw these guys had great reviews on Yelp so decided to try and get a quote. They came out and gave us a fair estimate on replacing some old outlets at our new house. They didn't try and oversell us on something we didn't need and were very reasonable when giving us advice on moving forward.

The estimate came quick and I was able to schedule someone to come out quickly after that. On the day of the outlet replacement, they brought 3 people! So they were able to efficiently change the 7 outlets we needed replaced and were in and out in about an hour. They also offered some additional guidance about the wiring and outlets in our new home. The guys were all super nice and professional. They definitely did quality work.

Feeling much more comfortable now with the new electrical outlets. You definitely get what you pay for with BV Electric. I would hire them again!

I had a pretty bad experience with these folks. They were way over budget and didn't even get all the work done.

I called them about installing a couple of outlets, and other misc repair work. One of the new outlets was going into near some drywall, the other was in tile wall. Their guy Miro came by to give an estimate. He said their guys can handle cutting the tile, no problem. He also said that they could do all of the work they needed without opening up drywall anywhere. He quoted me a price number, though he was vague about whether it would be one guy doing all the work, or two guys to parallelize the work.

So, a week or so later, two guys show up. They instantly tell me that they can't do tile, and that they would have to send another person later. Ok, fine, let's get the other work done. They work away, and end up hacking up part of my wall. When I asked about it, they looked at me like I was crazy, and told me that there is no way to do work like this without opening the drywall. It ended up taking them twice as long as Miro said, even though they didn't even get all the work done that we wanted. To make matters worse, the last 45 minutes or so was just one guy working, while the other sat in his truck on the phone, which they billed me for an extra hour even though he wasn't doing anything. He could have cleaned up some of the debris around the drywall that they tore up, or something. They also over-charged me on parts. Like, they billed $50 for a GFCI outlet, which is like $11 at any decent hardware store around here.

A few days later, another two guys show up, supposedly to do the tile work. However, they told me that they don't usually work with tile, and can't guarantee that they could do the work, or that they might crack the tile, etc etc. I decided to send them home. I ended up doing the tile work myself, and hired a different electrician to to install the outlet.

The work that these guys did seems solid enough, but they were a hassle to deal with, and were way over their estimated budget, and gouged me on parts. I say find yourself a different electrician.

Recently, we returned from a weekend trip after a rain storm to discover a bank of lights out in the stairwells in our multi-story flat and a circuit breaker not responding. Based on a neighbor's recommendation, we called BV Electric for the first time.

Stefan and Carlos came out the next day and immediately started diagnosing the issue, first replacing the circuit breaker then going floor by floor all the way to the roof, where they discovered the cause of the outage: a plug outlet and light had short circuited during the storm and actually caused a minor fire on our roof wall (!), which, fortunately, didn't flare into something disastrous while we were away.

I can't say enough about the professionalism and savvy of Stefan and Carlos--a dynamic, friendly duo. They inspected and ripped out the damaged outlet and housing, capped the exposed wiring (after confirming it will still work in the future) and put temporary face plates over what was left, then sealed everything to prevent further damage ahead of the next storm.

When the weather is drier, we are going to call BV Electric back to completely replace the plug and damaged light and have them inspect all of our neighbors' plugs in our HOA complex.

Again, I am so glad we called this business -- the peace of mind they left us with is impossible to beat.

Rigo is the man! I bought an Ecobee Smart Thermostat not knowing that my HVAC system was old and only had 2 wires. A c wire (or common wire) was needed. BV Electric was able to send Rigo out in short notice to assess the situation and give me an estimate. Then he came back the next day to install the wiring. Wiring was exposed (cheapest option) but is tucked along the walls/baseboard in the closet so I don't notice it at all. He actually came earlier than the scheduled appointment, which was a pleasant surprise and also not a big deal since we're WFH nowadays. It took him about an hour to install the thermostat. He's also very friendly and funny. Would highly recommend!

Spectacular service!
A bank of plugs in my kitchen stopped working. I contact BV and got a prompt response with a commitment to come-out the next day.
Service tech pinged me half an hour before scheduled arrival time to reconfirm the appointment.
Service tech arrived and did a thoughtful diagnosis of the problem. Throughout his work, he was careful not to damage anything and worked diligently. Once he determined the cause of the problem, he explained the repair options to me. We agreed on the best method and he completed the repairs, timely and efficiently.
I could not have been more pleased with the service I received from BV Electric!

BV required $650 just to provide a quote, and then took so long in providing the quote I got someone else to do it. BV never provided the quote, nor did they provide anything of value, nor did they return my money. Miro preferred to argue with me about it, and refused to either provide the quote or the money back. I don't understand how this is different from a scam?
How can you trust these folks?

Go anywhere else.

*Adding to this post to respond to Miro's bs response: the allegation that we were doing work without permits is COMPLETELY FALSE. Miro ought to be ASHAMED of treating customers this way. I was trying to keep this work Local. No good deed goes unpunished.

I wanted a relatively simple EV charger (NEMA 14-50 outlet) install in a shared garage. I gathered a large set of quotes and was shocked at the wide range -- between $1200 to more like $6000 from start to finish. Discussions with individual electricians ranged from wildly overblown builds, to unclear reasoning, and more. Worse, scheduling and planning was a pain to turn around quickly and easily.

I ended up picking one that fell through last minute, but they recommended BV Electric as a trusted partner to use instead.

From the first to last interaction, the team at BV Electric was on top of all aspects of the install, a total breath of fresh air. The appointment for the quote was on time on the dot (low bar, but rare and appreciated!) and Jaime walked me around the space explaining what he thought made the most sense. That included talking me through the components he'd add, explaining some potentially confusing aspects of the quote itself, and explaining the nuance of EV Charging wiring and outlets.

The scheduling back-office with Dusan was as easy as I could ask for. Clear emails, a very easy and usable portal with HousecallPro, and prompt phonecalls at all times. It took me over a month to sort details with my HOA, and BV kept on top of the project and was responsive to inquiries. Especially, they were willing to supply all the necessary insurance and licensing documents required quickly and easily. I've had to drag that out of other contractors before.

Finally we got to the day of install and the team showed up, even called ahead to see if they could start early. The install was fast and effective, very clean result, and they walked me through everything. We did a last minute check with the actual charger I had, which caught a quirk of Tesla chargers (they're upside down from normal!) and we fixed it in 3 minutes.

The whole process was excellent and I'd work with BV (or recommend you use them) in a heartbeat. I've had some true nightmare contractors and even just some perfectly mediocre ones, but BV was pretty much perfect scores,a cross the board.

Rigo and Omar did a great job fixing a couple of light outlets and installing a new 220 volt outlet in our kitchen. It was a pretty complex job and they were fantastic. On time, friendly, and professional. They did a great job installing the line and cleaning up afterward. They went above and beyond in fixing a flakey fixture rather than just suggesting we replace it. We're going to have more electric work coming in the future and we'll definitely call on BV Electric to do it.

This is such silly nonsense. I contacted you SEVERAL TIMES after this incident directly and privately. You never responded. You have only responded to this public place.

And - that's my point. You ignored me when I tried to handle things privately. Probably because I am not a deadbeat and paid my (unbelievably high) bill immediately. You got your money and that's all that mattered.

This incident should tell future customers that they'll only get a response from you if they go public. I'm pretty sure that's not what you want.

One of our electric baseboard heaters stopped working. I ordered a new unit and was able to get an appointment with BV Electric for installation.
The electrician named Rigo and his associate Gus arrived promptly to do the work. They protected my hardwood floors with a pad and did an excellent and efficient installation. They made sure the new heater was working before leaving. This was my first experience with BV Electric and I was very pleased.

First of all, I have to say that the technicians they sent out were great and they tried their best to help me. However, there was a disconnect between whoever read my email request and the technicians. I wanted a gas line connected to my stove. When the techs arrived, they said this wasn't what they were expecting. However, they did attempt to help out, but they just didn't have the equipment for the job. They told me that a plumber is the more appropriate person for this job. So essentially, I paid $169 for this advice, when this could've been determined if my email was read more carefully.

BV sent 2 technicians out who stayed 2+ hours, and finished 1 of the 3 tasks they came for - could not fix the chandelier, could not fix the bathroom fan. Only changed 3 light bulbs, and gave me a bill for $383.. After I complained to their office, they dropped to $150.

The chandelier that BV can't fix turned out to be a dimmer switch issue, the bathroom fan that BV replaced was off balanced and became louder after they touched it.

Rigoberto and Gus were fantastic! They were friendly and nice people! They hung our flatscreen, put in all the electrical wiring hidden in wall and did it with minimal impact, no mess. They also installed a plug outside and some motion lights. The Ring cameras were even positioned perfectly. I recommend them and will be using BV Electric for more projects!

Great experience with BV electric. We needed our doorbells rewired. The doorbells had been integrated into our mailboxes. BV was able to remove the mailboxes and install the new doorbells directly into the wall. They were fast, efficient, and did a great job.

I selected BV based on their reviews and
hourly/consultation rate, which was much more reasonable than competitors. They were accommodating to my schedule, and sent Rigoberto Ochoa, who was knowledgeable, patient, and super nice. He identified the problem right away, noting that I needed to get a replacement under cabinet fixture. He then was willing to wait 15 minutes while i ran to buy the new light. Installed the new fixture quickly and tightened a loose socket for me too. Would def use BV again!

Highly recommend BV Electric. We hired them to replace 3 GFCI outlets and remove a security system. Price charged was exactly what was quoted by the electrician when he arrived. They were prompt/on time, fast to schedule, explained exactly what they were doing and didn't try and push me into doing unnecessary work (which I've seen from other SF vendors). I have had 2 projects done by BV electric in last year. The first time they installed underground wiring to my garage for an EV and recently they installed an electrical panel and upgraded my service to 200A. The field manager Sam Castillo is fantastic! He is extremely knowledgable, patient, and reasonable. His team (Namanja for the underground cables and Jonny and crew for the panel) are professional, courteous, and clean. Jonny and his team did a lot of work removing older indoor panels, rewiring, etc. and I would highly recommend them. They were punctual, prepared, and cleaned up after themselves. So why the 4 stars - the front office at BV electric is a bit clueless. They want to only communicate by email (even though they send texts for scheduling etc.) and are often not sure what the field team is doing or supposed to do.

Oh, friends, it's the little things (that aren't really little to us) that mean so very much. New to us, very old San Francisco home with every tiny electrical issue you could think of: doorbell that not working, electric door buzzer not working, burned-out transformer, no GFCI plugs in the bathroom, and what's an SF house without grounded plugs and a non-working on switch for the furnace.

And no, I don't mean the thermostat smarty-pants, I mean the on switch on the actual furnace unit burned out.

Long story short, yeah, the furnace switch needed to be replaced but that didn't fix the furnace, the buzzer needed to be repaired, and the bell and transformer needed to be repaired, yet that total job took about 25 minutes. The tech was so sweet he even changed a few cheap burned faceplate covers for me and made sure I knew which plugs were grounded and NOT grounded so that we wouldn't burn down the house! I mean he had to justify charging me $500 for something, right?

I had them run two outlets, one for electricity, one for coaxial/ethernet in a tight space in a utility closet which on the other side has a washer/drier. It was a little pricier than the task rabbit guys, would recommend for anything more complicated.

Being a former commercial building manager I've had my share of working with many different contractors including the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly...lol.

BV Electric surpassed my expectations in every way! I was referred to them on Nextdoor.com as I needed licensed and insured electricians to figure out and fix my bedroom ceiling fan and lights that stopped working. I also needed 3 light fixtures removed and replaced and 1 hard-wired smoke alarm deactivated.

I called and they asked me to email them the list of work I wanted to be done so they could get me scheduled. They quoted me an hourly rate of $159 per person and kindly sent 2 electricians instead of one to get through the work faster. To my surprise, electricians Jaime and James showed up at 8:00am on the dot as scheduled! They even called to tell me they were out front so I could buzz the gate. They were professional, friendly, considerate, and respectful of me and my belongings. They wanted to be sure I was happy at the end of the day...which I certainly was!

They were both neatly dressed, brought all their tools with them upstairs, put blankets down on the floor under wherever they were working to catch dust, screws, and dirt, vacuumed everywhere they worked, they broke down all the boxes the new lighting materials arrived in,do so they could schedule me and took everything downstairs to the recycling and garbage bins when they were done.

The services and the manner in which it was provided should be the goal for every contractor. To say that I am thrilled would be an understatement.

I was looking around for some quotes for a 240V installation (planning on installing an EV Charger) and some other electrical work. Of those, BV Electric was the most suitable option for me. They were super responsive via e-mail and were open with availability. Rico and John took a few hours to route a conduit to my garage and install the 240V and also worked on another electrical issue. They noted that a fixture needed to be replaced, which I ended up picking up. I contacted them again and Rico came by to get that resolved. He also went above and beyond to review the EV Charger installation and noted really tight wiring between the 240V and the EV Charger, which he ended up remediating by moving the frame a few inches closer to the 240V.

I definitely appreciate their service and look forward to contacting BV Electric should I run into any future problems. Thanks!!

Every Christmas season, the outdoor lights I take the time to put up stop working with the first rain. This January I decided to hire an electrician to fix the problem. BV electric came out and fixed the problem with weather proof covers. They also made sure the outlets are working, restoring power to one of them. They also helped troubleshoot one of my Ring devices and came back a few days later to install the new one. They are friendly, they listened, and cleaned up after themselves. I will definitely hire them again and recommend them

I was thoroughly impressed by their efficiency and good communication but BV Electric is not cost-effective. Two workers came for a one person job, worked for 41 minutes and charged me for a full hour of labor each. Was then charged $60 for a $20 photocell. Not sure what reasonable profit margins are but this seems kinda steep!

To make matters worse, it was a repeat visit - I had them come before to fix the same light fixture. Their last photocell lasted for two weeks before failing, and I just paid a 200% markup for the replacement. If cost isn't a concern for you, BV Electric is great!

BV Electric just completed a subpanel replacement for me, including fixing an old circuit for the furnace which had unsafe/illegal flexible conduit. Everything went smoothly, from the original (no-cost, no-commitment) estimate visit to the actual work today. The two workers went a bit over their ETA, but the work is top-notch, clean, and they even switched the furnace to be hard-wired, with a switched junction box (to meet code, though I didn't opt for an inspection since it wasn't required).

I'd highly recommend BV Electric, and I'll be using them for 2 more small jobs I have.

My house is going electric. I decided to replace my gas stackable with an electric combo washer dryer.

At the time of installation, I found out there was not 240 volt outlet in the100+ year old house.

Rigo and his helper Lucas came by the day after I called to inspect and provide an estimate.

They went to work right away and made a true work of art. They even made sure the appliance's prong fit the outlet.

Professional, compassionate, and friendly - they hit the trifecta.

I could not be more pleased. They truly were worth the money.

Now, this electrician is different. I have a doorbell that not working. I explained to him that I don't know if it's the doorbell, doorbell receiver, or transformer. I said that the transformer may be in my laundry room or attic. I don't know. Their immediate response is he's not checking my attic, he says I have asthma. I explain I have spray foam insulation in my attic that is nonallergenic. He cancels the job on the spot. Wow...

Good guys to work with, but ever since they rewired my entire home from knob and tube, my gfci outlets trip throughout my garage and shut off my spare refrigerator, Wi-Fi modem, and laundry machine monthly.
I had my electrical rewired in 2013 and tried a few times back then to have them fix it with no luck. Just sucks to come back from vacation to come back to that stuff off every time.

So our office had a couple of light fixtures that has been dead for quite some time and getting an electrician to come over has been difficult. It is either the job is too small or some are just unresponsive.

BV Electric is different. For them, no job is too small and they responded within an hour of my inquiry.

They sent over Stefan and Gustavo to do the job and went straight to work. Both of them are very professional and know exactly what to do which resulted in a very clean job that included replacing a very stubborn light fixture. We didn't have any issues with the price as it was well explained and were transparent with the labor rate and cost of materials.

I will definitely hire this company again.

UNPROFESSIONAL and POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I've scheduled an appointment for an electrician to come out to do a site survey since this is a custom install for my client. They scheduled the appointment, then a day before the appointment, they rescheduled it for the following week. That's fine, we'll chalk that up to a miscommunication.

I provided them with all the electrical information needed in order for them to provide me with a quote. I requested for a quote. Still, customer service said that they need to do a site survey to provide a quote.

Today was that rescheduled appointment just to provide me with a quote. I messaged them two and a half hours in advance to confirm the appointment. It was raining in SF and it took me 1.5 hours to get to the site. BV Electric still has not emailed, not texted or called to confirm. I called the number that sent the text confirmation for the appointment. She seemed a bit confused why I'm calling her. I informed her of the appointment and I'm outside of the client's building. She said she would check and call me back.

Someone else from BV Electric called me back saying that the electrician can't come to the appointment due to ahhh....... rain. I was livid. **I drove in the rain to get the appointment that they've botched twice just to give me a quote.** I asked the BV Electric customer service person to make it right and have someone come out to follow through. He said No, we can't. I even said, ok, then can you please at least have an electrician look at the pictures and the information I sent to provide me with a quote. He said umm.... we can't do that. Absolute piss poor customer service. They wasted 300 dollars of billable time.

Electricians that are afraid of driving in the rain is the worst excuse to waste someone's time. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND HIRE REAL PROFESSIONALS

We had BV Electric do several complicated jobs for us over a two day period. Rigo came with his crew first to evaluate what needed to be done and give us an estimate. His estimate was very reasonable and we had him do the job. I wish I could give them MORE than five stars. Both days they came exactly on time. They did an amazing job. They installed a new circuit breaker box, installed a Ring device and installed all new outlets in our kitchen. Rigo explained everything he was doing in detail. He and his crew were very professional and accommodating. Very pleased with their work and would recommend them enthusiastically.

I want to UPDATE this review and give credit where credit is due.

Firstly, Miro BV's Owner is a real human being, exceptionally nice man, a caring father, and just an all around considerate professional person.

How many times have you had someone say: all I want to do is make you happy. And he did. He was disappointed (as was I) with my experience (see prior review) and all he wanted to do was make it right.

Secondly, Miro then came over. Inspected my job. Made apologies. Sent two incredibly competent electricians to install my two light fixtures (in a week from said previous bad experience) and in 3 hours at a VERY reasonable rate...poof! Pendant light and ceiling fan installed!!

No hassle. No pathos. No price gouge. Just a can-do, polite as pumpkin, clean, tidy, professional install.

As for the first guy, we'll let's say Miro learned him something. You don't get to treat customers poorly and expect no consequences. I will leave it at that.

Prompt and professional from start to finish. Old house that needed a lot of work, and had a hard time finding someone to do the work. The team at BV came in and showed and explained to me what needed to be done. They handled everything, permits, contact with the city, inspections, everything. Found on yelp. Emailed back and forth with them about date and time, they confirmed by email and asked for address. Sent address. But no one showed up. When I called to ask why they said there was nothing on the books and acted like this was just a misunderstanding on me. I read them their own emails. Don't recommend.

BV electric did a fantastic job with our 17 foot high dimmable ceiling track lighting installation. Would highly recommend!!

Byron's team did the initial assessment/estimate but was replaced by Rigoberto's team due to last minute scheduling changes. Fortunately, Rigoberto's team already knew what we were looking for and used our input (Pinterest photos, google image photos) to turn our vision into a reality. They even texted me photos while they were at the lighting store to make sure the lights were what we wanted.

They followed strict social distancing and masking protocols and took extra care to protect our hardwood floors and furniture. By the time they left, all of the furniture was placed back in its original place and the floors were spotless.

We were thrilled with their work and would gladly use them again for any future electrical needs!

I had several projects around the house that I needed to get done - installing a 240V external outlet for my new plug in hybrid, a broken outlet box, a broken light, and removing some devices that were hardwired in the house. After reaching out to a few electricians, I could immediately tell the difference in service with BV Electric - they were super responsive and friendly to work with. They sent someone out to first do an in person inspection of the work I needed done so they could give me a more accurate quote. The guy I worked with was Sam. He was very informative and took the time to describe the work that would need to be done to install what I wanted. Given that some of what I wanted done were relatively easy, he said there wouldn't be an additional cost to add those into the overall service. I got a quote back from BV Electric the next day and was pretty happy to see that the price quoted for all the services combined was comparable to the price I got from another company for just one of the services I needed. It was a no brainer for me to move forward.

Once I approved the quote, they were able to schedule an install appointment for me for the next week. I was assigned two guys - Gabriel and his associate. Over the next several hours, the two of them got right to work. They were friendly and communicative during the process and made sure to clean up after themselves when they were done. I noticed that one of the guys didn't wear a mask when he came into my house which I was a little annoyed at given that the Delta variant is in full swing right now but at least he wasn't indoors for an extended period of time.

A couple of days afterwards, my level 2 charger came in the mail and I realized there was an issue with the external outlet they installed. The box didn't have a hole cut into it where I could insert a cable and with the way level 2 chargers are shaped (cable is at the bottom of the prong), there was no way I could plug my charger into the outlet as it was. In addition, I noticed that they had installed the outlet upside down. I immediately emailed the company again and they were responsive in getting back to me and getting a second install appointment scheduled for the following week. I had the same team assigned to me and they were able to rectify the issue in 30 minutes. So while it was inconvenient that they had to come back twice, I'm happy with the final result and glad that they were able to fix the issue quickly.

Yelp has never let me down. BV Electric was just the ticket and came the day I called. I described over the phone the work I needed, (we had just moved in.) They upgraded the electrical panel, ran new a 220 outlet across the garage and best of all ran the wiring, connection and set up a junction shut/off box for a jacuzzi and then working with our spa installation crew, they connected the new line to the new spa. I cannot say enough about their responsiveness, attentiveness and ability to work with other contractors. They communicated and stayed in the loop through the whole process. Rates are reasonable and fair. When any question arose, they called me on my cell first and immediately confirmed my preference. For example, rather than add a breaker, they suggested changing the panel altogether and explained how it was less expensive and would upgrade the panel at the same time. Thanks so much,... for a job quickly, completely and professionally well done! Definitely will use again!

I needed some outlet and lighting replacements. BV Electric was able to schedule the assessment quickly. They send Rigoberto Ochoa who gave me a number of options after assessing my areas of need. They needed to order parts to match what my condo unit had, but returned fairly quickly on my schedule and did a great job. I will use them for future electric needs.

BV Electric was quick to come out and provide us with a quote for new plugs and breaker boxes for car charging. I was able to get them out soon after I ok'd the quote. They arrived on time and finished the work that day. Their work was clean and neat. When we came across a discrepancy on the location of the new panels and plugs, they had no problem moving things to where we needed them to be. I'd recommend them to anyone needing electrical work.

BV replaced an old thermostat with a Nest thermostat.

The work itself was 4 to 5 stars. BV is prompt, punctual, polite, professional and their staff explained each step while they were on premise. They were prepared in terms of tooling and it was clear they have experience.

The cost was a bit outrageous. I was informed there would be a minimum charge of 1 hour. No problem here. However, they brought 2 technicians for a 1 person job. The job lasted about 15-20 mins. Little did I know that their 1 hour minimum applies to both technicians so I was charged $300+ for 15-20 mins of clock time, or 30-40 mins of cumulative time. I'm pretty confident either one of the technicians could have knocked the project out, solo, in about 7 mins. Be prepared to pay 2 hours if you have a tiny job that you think should take less than an hour.

Samuel was 50 minutes late to our appointment which made it a huge rush for me to make it into a meeting in 10 minutes. I purposely scheduled the time I did because that's when I would be available. We talked about upgrading/replacing our sensor network in the building. I told him this was an urgent priority for us. I sent him a count of the types we had by text 2 days later and never heard back. Very disappointed. It's been extremely difficult to find professional communications in trade-based businesses. I would've appreciated any sort of estimate or at least a we can't do that kind of project right now.

Rigoberto and Gustavo, and the entire team at BV Electric are true professionals. From my first inquiry online to the estimate to the service date. communication was timely and great, the service was outstanding, and the attention to detail like none other. Rigo and the team helped me upgrade my electric to be able to run a dishwasher in my kitchen. They also ran wires so I could install a Nest Learning Thermostat and a Nest Video doorbell. They were careful with the holes they had to make in walls, etc. and expertly hung everything measuring with a tape measure to make sure things were even. The owner himself came over in between jobs given the emergency situation and examined the situation quickly, explained everything he was doing, and fixed it that same afternoon. Ah, good old BV Electric! What can I say. We did a whole house rewiring project with Miro and team, and we have nothing but good things to say.

Miro was clear about explaining the current condition of the wiring in the house, and provided us a clear agreement about the scope of the project. He was also responsive to any issues that came up, and honored our initial agreement throughout the process even when that involved a few extra visits from his team.

Overall the entire team was professional, and was able to get through the entire project with little to no trouble. There was a period of time in the middle where we were out of town on an emergency and had to pause the project; Miro was super supportive and understanding, and even periodically visited the house to make sure everything was ok in our absence, and video called us when he did. Definitely a trustworthy guy!

Jelena, Sean, and the entire office team were always respectful about scheduling visits, and sent clear emails about each step, which we appreciated.

The on-site team was ethical in their approach, and made sure all the work passed the city inspections and met a high bar. Armando, Jose, Carlos and all of the others did a good job of explaining how the electrical lines are set up and were flexible to our requests as they worked. The new electrical panel in our garage is also well labeled and clear.

TLDR: Miro and team are trustworthy and communicative, and completed our whole house rewiring project to a high standard. Keep up the good work!

BV completed another small project for us this week. A faulty GFCI that was tripping unexpectedly. Scheduling was painless. They replied quickly; showed up promptly, were professional. Diagnosed the issue correctly and replaced the faulty socket that was overheating quickly without even disrupting the power. I estimate it was 15 maybe 20 mins end to end. No mess and everything working properly now. Would recommend them in a heartbeat. I think this is our 5th project with them and all have been outstanding

They have a reasonable but more stellar reception team to get the ball rolling on whatever you are looking to do.

The quote we received for installing three ceiling fans was $650 each. It's about 1.5 hours of work which, we eventually paid a retired electrician to do instead. He charged $180.

I bought a Wemo smart switch and hired BV to come install it. I'm normally willing to DYI but I have old wiring and didn't want to mess with it.
Rigo came out and expertly installed the switch.
Only after he left did I realize I needed / wanted a smart DIMMER switch, not a regular one. D'oh!
I decided to fork out another visit fee because I was very happy with Rigo. I scheduled it, he came back a week later and did the needful. I wanted to move the regular smart switch to another switch. He attempted but discovered the wiring was so old I'd need to pull new wire so we tested another (bedroom) switch that seemed more compatible and he had it installed quickly. Both the new dimmer and the relocated regular smart switches are installed and happy, and I am too. Rigo worked quickly, cleanly and confidently and came prepared for each job.
I was very happy with BV's service and I would hire them again for minor electrical work.

GREAT COMPANY! After trying to get an electrician to come fix my track lighting for over 2 weeks I was about to give up but contacted BV Electric. I'm glad I did. I messaged them at 10pm the night before...they got back to me within minutes and said they could come by the next morning!! They showed up ahead of the scheduled time....found the issue within minutes ( I needed a new dimmer switch) replaced that switch as well as another. In and out within 45 minutes!! Great work by BV Electric. Rigo, our electrician, was terrific. We needed an old ceiling fan fixture removed and a new one installed. I left a message with BV on a Sunday, when they were closed, but nonetheless, someone got back to me that evening, and we got the job scheduled for the next day! Our electrician Rigo was a joy--professionally he was knowledgeable, experienced, and very efficient--and personally, he was charming, polite, and left the space cleaner than he found it. I will definitely use BV for future electrical work.

This company is a joke. Up the price high and doing the most. I was a customer and wondered how did $755 was calculated for an internet cable replacement, the answer was all over the place. The electrician was rude and even talked shit to my tenant who put me on the speaker phone at the moment. Truly disappointed. Unacceptable. I got many properties in the Bay Area have been managing for the past 5 years and have worked with so many companies, they are all honest and professional. But this company ain't it. Do your business elsewhere people.

Miro responded to my call for help on Yelp on Saturday night (8PM), and drove to my house the next morning (8AM), which is incredible - over and above his expertise.
His responsiveness to me in a short term crisis (lost power in a key part of my house) was exceptional.

Stellar service from start to finish! I submitted an inquiry for the work via Yelp and got a reply from BV Electric in less than an hour. It was super easy to schedule an appointment via email, and then I got both a confirmation email and a text that the work order was created.

Today, Rigo and Jose came right on the dot at the start of the 30 minute appointment window with masks on. They took care of the work quickly, efficiently and walked me through every component of the repair they completed when they were through to demonstrate that everything was in working order.

I would highly recommend BV Electric for any electrical needs, and am so glad I was able to support a local small business that employs highly skilled and friendly electricians like Rigo and Jose.

Edit 1: Nina from BV reached out to me and profusely apologized for my poor experience. I'm going to get an estimate for the work and I'll update my review based on my experience.

I had power go out in half my apartment. I needed help and reached out to BV Electric. They were able to make time for me the same-day and diagnosed the issue. Felix quickly figured out that my building had an old electrical breaker that went out. He recommended an electrical panel upgrade, which made sense because it was really old. As a stop-gap, they replaced the breaker with one that had on board and asked that I follow up for an estimate to replace the panel.

I called and was told that I would get the estimate in a day or two. A few days later, I followed up on the phone and was stalled longer. I emailed two weeks later and was told they would get back to me ASAP. Three weeks later, I still haven't gotten my estimate.

Came out for a quote and we asked for an itemized quote since there were things we really needed done and a few things we were curious about. It took a while to get them out and a while to get the quote. When we got the quote it was all bundled up in one big number. Now they say they will need to come out again if we want it broken down. I was on a time crunch to get something done on my must fix items. Wasted nearly a month waiting on BV and I'm still in idle!!!

We used BV Electric for two major projects on our new house - upgrading the electrical service, and rewiring all the outlets (which still had the original knob and tube wiring). From the beginning, they were very professional - they gave reasonable quotes, and were happy to break down and explain the costs when asked.

For the electrical upgrade, they were very fast - barely a week from the initial quote they had a full team around, and within a few days we had a new main panel and subpanel connected - it was a fairly big job due to needing to run conduit through the length of the house to connect the panels, but they quickly completed the work to a high standard, and minimized the electrical outage to a few hours.

Based on the good experience we had, we continued to use BV electric for the rewiring. They took just over a week to do the whole house, and we're really happy with the end result - wiring a separate circuit for each room (in some cases multiple), GFCI outlets in the kitchen, and all new wiring up to code. They did need to cut some large holes in the walls in some places, but they recommended a great dry wall / painter who restored everything so well you'd never even know that any work was done!

All of BV Electric's work was up to code and approved by the city inspector with no problems. We did have some major issues with PG&E due to the meter location (there was no location that fit all of their criteria, given the age of the house and neighborhood), and we spent nearly a year arguing back and forth with them. In the end, PG&E demanded the meter to be moved, and BV Electric came in and spent another full day doing all the requested changes at no extra cost. I was impressed that they followed through on their commitment to complete all their work to code, even through the unreasonable demands and lengthy process of dealing with PG&E.

Miro was very transparent throughout the whole process, and the whole team was a delight to work with. They are really conscientious in doing high quality work, and I would highly recommend them!

Miro was referred to us by our plumber, Sam did a great job today replacing 2 of our outlets in our apartment. He even went the extra mile to call us ahead to see if he could get a black outlet and ultimately we went with white because we needed it done asap.

I cannot give enough praise to the professionalism of everyone at BV Electric. I am upgrading a rough building that is almost 120 years old, with tough tenants. The job called for plenty of difficult troubleshooting. Miro and Mina came to see the job with a can-do attitude. They were super helpful from the beginning of the project all the way to the end. I ended up added more work, big and small, and they knocked it out fast and efficiently. I then hired them to install security cameras / timers or sensors on lights / and upgrade the intercom system.

Basically, there wasn't anything that they couldn't do. They were always on time and came with the right size crew -- who are ALL extremely knowledgeable, hardworking, and trustworthy guys. I highly recommend you give them a shot.

I thought this would end when my wife left a review for this company but the owner started private messaging me making threats if I did not take my post down. The owner came out to our house and scared my wife and I by telling us that our house was dangerous and needed a complete re-wire for $40-50k. 4 other opinions later and a visit from the inspector and we realized this was not true at all and the work was completed for $2.5k. Miro may have good reviews, but he is obviously willing to put it on the line recently. Hope he learns a lesson from this and goes back to the good work it is obvious he used to do.

Update: the owner has proceeded to continue to threaten and harass me to take down my review. It is actually pretty scary. If you look at other 1 star reviews, it's clear he has a habit of trying to bully people and scare them to remove bad reviews since he knows where they live. Going to leave mine up, but everyone should be aware of his tactics. I feel lucky that my next door neighbor is the chief of police in our town and my aunt, else I would actually be pretty scared given his erratic behavior.

Upgraded my original 30A service and fuse box...yes, fuse box, with 200A service and brought our house to the 21st century. The process went great from initial consultation with Miro and the city inspector to Armando and his crew coming out and doing fantastic work. Power was only off momentarily for a major upgrade! I also really really appreciate that they used top quality components - Eaton breakers and panels. It's an area where a company could cheap out with cut rate components. BV does high quality work all around and it's evident.

I always try to get a minimum of three estimates for a job and this is why. Someone from BV was supposed to come by to take a look at what I needed done between 10-10:30 a.m. When I didn't get a phone call to say he or she would be late by 11:15 I texted to say cancel the appointment. I never received a reply. Then at 2:30 I get a call that he was on his way over. I told him to forget about it and reminded him that I was expecting him at 10 a.m. His excuse was that he got double booked. Not a good business practice and not a good enough reason not to inform me of the 4 hour delay. Respect my time like I'll respect yours.

I had 3 appointments that day and only one person showed up. Thank you Cyrus Technology.

The office quoted me 1 electrician at $159/hr for 3 hours to hang a kitchen light, bathroom light, 2 bathroom fans, and an outdoor light.

An electrician and his helper showed up at 8:15. They were done at 10:30. They also did not install 1 of the bathroom fan even though they had 45 minutes left. Good workers but they tried to charge me $159 x 2 electricians for 3 hours even though it was 2.25 hours and it was 1 electrician and a helper to sweep up. What a joke!

I do not recommend them not because of their work but because they tried to charge me almost $1000 for 2.25 hours of work by 1 electrician.

BV Electric is excellent to deal with, far superior than most of their competition I have used in the past and the work they perform turned out to be perfect. When I called to schedule an appointment someone actually answered right away. A real voice!

Jelena took down my requested time and followed up within 15 minutes and confirmed the time she would have an electrician come to my unit on Mason Street in SF. So much better than leaving a voice mail which may never be returned. She followed up with a written email.

Carlos and Jose showed up on time. Really nice guys, detailed in their work and professional.

They replaced 6 recessed lights. All the transformers had failed in my 16 feet ceiling. They also helped me with re wiring a light fixture in a fan unit above my stove.

Within 24 hours the General Manager Mina Taylor followed up with a personal phone call thanking me for the business and making sure I am completely satisfied.

I am extremely pleased with the services of BV Electric and the attentive personal service they provide. I will absolutely use them again.

I finally found a tech-savvy company, BV Electric. When I called, they asked me to send them email describing what work needed to be done, which was great because I could include a photo of the burned-out outlet and give them the details and photos of some Nest Protect wiring issues. They responded with email saying when they could be there. We exchanged further email about the price estimate, and they've confirmed the arrival date & time in both text and email. Rigoberto Ochoa and another electrician showed up on time and knew exactly what to do. (The installation instructions from Nest Protect were wrong.) They had everything fixed within 30 minutes. I was very impressed, and the next time I need an electrician, I'm calling BV Electric again.

These guys are great. Received a referral to them from an emergency-only electrician (who was also great) and I was not disappointed. They've now done a few jobs for me:
- Replaced old knob and tube.
- Troubleshoot failed outlets and lighting.
- Repaired questionable work from other electricians.
- Rewired a few outlets to modern specification.

Third Job
My lights were flickering in the kitchen, especially under high load. They were able to locate the above box in the laundry closet where the all the kitchen wiring was hooked up. It turns out that there was a neutral wire exposed and sparking against the metal junction box. Thank goodness they came and treated it like the emergency that it was. They stayed past 8pm to make sure we could sleep soundly. They were able to cap the loose neutral and then came back today while I was gone to add 2 additional neutral lines (we were too low for the kitchen). They did all of this by only cutting one small rectangle around the junction box in the laundry closet. They saved the (heavily plastered) drywall and screwed it back on when done. Now I can have someone clean it up and paint it whenever I get around to it. Nice work again!

Second Job
We had BV Electric out to replace our electrical service after we found out that it was corroded inside the panel. Miro and his team are absolute professionals and do very clean work. They made the permitting and inspection process painless for us. You could tell that they have done a ton of this work.

Out by the ocean, the salty seaside air can do a number on your electrical (and other systems). Make sure you check things out and get it fixed properly by a professional company like BV Electric!

First Job
BV Electric is the company you need to help you fix your crazy SF electrical. They can take on the big jobs and the small. I need to get a circuit run to support a smart thermostat, and I'll be calling them for that job (or better yet, I'll just request a quote directly on Yelp)!

This time, I had a hell of a time trying to figure out how to replace the 3-way switches on my knob and tube circuit. Apparently, it's really complicated if you don't know the tricks. Well, BV Electric sent someone out and they used an extension cord and a multimeter and had it fixed in no time. I was literally working on 2 of these circuits all day and just had to give up. Thanks BV Electric!

Fast in responding back. We had flickering lights, and sometimes the lights would get brighter. Sam came down and checked our circuit breaker which was fine, he tightened some screws that were loose. He also replaced an old receptacle in our kitchen, and fixed loose receptacles in our bedrooms. Very happy with their service. Sam was very nice and professional, and the cost was reasonable. I blew out some sockets trying to fix a blow dryer. As a result our doorbell and buzzer didn't work. Rigo showed up with a helper at 8 am. right on time. It took them about 30 minutes to fix all the problems. That'll teach me to try to rewire a blow dryer. Everything works now... they were in and out in 30 minutes. Worked well together. Very professional. I'll hire again if need be. Fair price as well.

I contacted BV Electric this afternoon (July 16, 2020) to correct some power issues that I am having with some kitchen appliances. Mina, the office manager, took the information, explained their policies, assured me that her company employees follow the Covid-19 rules and checked her schedule. She noticed her employee, Rigo, was already in my area in a neighboring town and rechecked her schedule. Mina said he could be at my house within the hour.
EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE !!
Rigo arrived promptly handed me his business card and introduced himself. I explained the issues with my appliances and watched as he checked the outlets and went outside to the circuit box. He said everything in the box looked good and was in working condition. He pointed to the 3 electrical power lines up by the road and explained that sometimes a partial separation can occur in the connection to my house line due to wind gusts. He advised me to call PG&E right away to have them come and check. Rigo also noticed a line from my outside house light was not properly grounded so he encased within a box. We returned inside my house where he checked a concern I had under the kitchen counter. He put my mind at ease.
The service I received from both Mina and Rigo certainly goes well beyond anything I even anticipated.
PG&E responded to my address within the hour and did confirm what Rigo suspected...wire separation due to the wind.
I AM MORE THAN PLEASED WITH BV ELECTRIC.

I needed two new electrical outlets put in. Sam explained that he needed to cut holes in the wall ahead of time. He had to run wiring from one side of the room to the other, down two different walls. Not an easy task. He took his time and did everything right. When he was done everything was clean and tidy. I really appreciated his hard work (it took several hours) and his positive attitude. He even went above and beyond, and changed out the light switch to match the rest of the switches in the house. That level of service and attention to detail was amazing. I hired BV Electric to upgrade our dilapidated 100 Amp panel to a brand new 200 Amp panel.

I want to state upfront, because it is so important to highlight, that BV stands by their work 100%.

In the course of upgrading our panel, we had a huge miscommunication with PG&E. Miro - the electrician we worked directly with throughout the process - did a beautiful job installing a new panel in place of our old and working around the schedule of our roofers who were also replacing the roof above the panel. When we needed PG&E to come approve the panel, they requested that it be moved.

This came as a surprise to Miro given his prior communications with them, and he pushed back on them for quite some time to see if there was a way we could avoid having to rip out his existing work and relocate it.

Unfortunately, after some months of back and forth, PG&E began threatening to disconnect our power if we did not relocate it, claiming that no other solution could work. Miro took responsibility for the costs associated with the panel relocation, including the costs of redoing the roofing around the new mast location. He was very transparent about our options. We wound up only paying a bit of extra cash on our own accord to perform some cosmetic changes to the installation.

I do not believe this is a common occurrence, but I believe it represents something about how they run their business and the brand they are building. We experienced a particularly outlandish circumstance and Miro stood by and defended the customer.

I consider BV Electric to be our electricians. They have more than earned our business, and if you have any electric work needing to be done I suggest you give them a call, too. Their front of office staff are more than responsive and kind, and their competitive prices are worth every penny.

This review is not only for BV Electric, but for the specific technician who came to do the work as well, Sam. During this appointment, Sam installed a new kitchen ceiling light, two pendant lights, and a vanity light in the main bathroom.

Sam arrived on time and completed the service request efficiently and without any issues. In my view, Sam is the kind of person you would want in your home doing the kinds of repairs and installation that he did. He answered all questions I asked of him completely and was thorough in his explanation of how the light installations would proceed. A year and a half ago I had BV electric replace an old dangerous 100 amp circuit breaker with a new 200 amp model which also necessitated redoing the external connections to the power lines on the outside of my house to bring it up to code.

They handled everything including the permits. The job was scheduled one week out and completed in 2 days.

I found out after the fact that they also were so nice as to help my neighbor install a new light switch for free. He was very happy!

Everything has been working splendidly since then and I'll happily work with them again in the future.

BV Electric completed re-wiring of my house and installing new electric panel. The work was done very fast since they have large crew (which also means be ready to have at least ten people running through your house). BV arranged permits and inspections. They listen to customers requests and try to address them if possible. I appreciated the flexible payment plan in installments. The team is very friendly. One thing to keep in mind is that they don't do patching up and painting after the electrical work is done and you will need a separate contractor to do it for you. They provided a great recommendation (Carlos Martinez) though.

I had painters at my home finishing up what had been two months of work to restore my condo after the upstairs neighbor's plumbing leaked.
The painter tried to screw in a lightbulb in the recessed light on the hall ceiling, not realizing the metal base of a lightbulb had broken off and was still in the fixture. He was almost electrocuted. The painters needed the light to work in order to finish painting. I called BV Electric. I requested a quote via Yelp and was quoted $150 / hour. No one contacted me about the appointment so I called them. They told me to email my quote, so I did. They still didn't setup an appointment. I called back the next day and finally was able to setup an appointment. When the guy called he told me he was only available to come out for an emergency appointment at the rate of $250 / hour. My situation is not an emergency. I guess after several attempts to make a normal appointment they only work for emergency rates so I wasn't willing to pay almost twice as much for the same work several days later.

I didnt have a good experience from this company. I called BV Electric out for a new PGE closet redesign for a commercial application. This was the only company that came out and made a big deal of the job. When I first talked to their office over the phone, without even seeing the job site, the manager told me This is not going to be cheap. From all of the contractors I got estimates from, this company was the only one that made a bid deal of the job. I have been in the commercial property business for years and it seems that they make the job seem like a big effort to squeeze more $$ out of the unknowing customer.

And even after they saw the job, I never got a quote. I kept getting side texts from the owner asking if I still needed the quote even after the job was done. It doesn't seem like this company knows how to do business.

Update: The owner Miro, called me right after I posted this negative review. He was insinuating that this job was done without permits and threatened to go to the city. He also has been texting me and threatening he will go to the city to investigate if the job was done right. I filled a police report against him. I he has a record with a similar behavior we another negative review.

Update: Here is a direct quote from his reply:

And also I will go to bottom of this problem and find out from city inspectors if this job was done with proper permits and inspections as I've being told.
This is just to satisfy my ego and to make sure everyone is ok with this review. Nothing personally just business.

Note: BV Electric did not do the work and he is threatening to go to the inspectors office to see if the work was done right. This is not his property and he did not do the work. What this is, is intimidation so i can remove the negative review.

Last week one of my kitchen outlets died. After I checked the other outlets and fuses, all seemed okay but that outlet was dead and it was connected to my microwave. I called BV Electric and they told me to send them an email with the issue and photos if I could. I did. They sent Rigo to fix my problem. He came on time, was very professional and personable, and diagnosed and fixed the outlet -- the problem was with another outlet. (I have not yet run anything on that other outlet, but all appears fixed.) Repair was completed within less than an hour.

This week, BV Electric followed up with an email asking me if I had any issues and if all was okay. I think their customer service and communication with me is great - I would recommend Rigo and BV Electric!

We had an electrical fire resulting from old, over loaded wiring. The fire department can and turned off the electricity. The owner of BV Electric came to our home the same day as the fire and made sure that we were not in any danger and turned the electric back on. He sent one of his electricians to upgrade all of our electrical plugs. Since that time his team has done several jobs for us. They installed 3 dedicated plugs in the kitchen (this was a very big job) and installed a fan over the stove that vents out to the roof. We are so happy with BV Electric. They are knowledgeable and efficient. My only recommendation is to ask for a written estimate before the work is performed.

It was a pleasure working with Miro at BV Electric. It's really hard to get contractors out for repairs these days, and the ones you do get often do sloppy work because there's so much demand. I called about a dozen electricians before anyone was willing to even come out and look at our issue.

I had to wait about a week for BV Electric to come. But when Miro came he was helpful, quickly able to see that the problem was on PG&E's end and not ours, and gave me detailed instructions on how to sort it out with them. There was no upsell or sales push or attempt to sneak in a bunch of extra work, as I've often experienced with other contractors. It was a really pleasant experience. I'll definitely call these guys again if I have electrical needs.

I'm so lucky to have found Miro. It was a Sunday night and I had partial power loss that needed to be fixed ASAP since I have daycare kids arriving the following morning.

Miro sent me a text that night and followed up first thing the next morning saying he was on his way and would be there by 9am. Big relief!!

He was very professional, kind and was able to fix the issue with the power quickly.

It's very hard to find an electrician in this city, especially on an emergency basis. Others I have dealt with recently, didn't return calls, were no shows, showed up in a dilapidated truck, didn't have the right equipment, milked the time and were unprofessional.

Miro a good guy with integrity. You won't regret giving him a call.

Very, very pleased with BV Electric. Some companies did not not want such a small job of creating 3 dedicated lines for the appliances on the ground level, but BV Electric provided good service - from the initial inquiry, to the in- person estimate, to scheduling a timely appointment and finally to the work done, this company was customer focused - professional, courteous, friendly, efficient, skilled and respectful of my home (cleaned up well after finishing)....I only wish that I had asked, during the estimate meeting, if the company gave a senior discount, but still the price was fine.

Miro, the owner of the company, is AMAZING! Great guy to work with - he knows allllll of the inspectors in SF and the best part is that the inspectors respect and like him! This makes a HUGE difference when you're trying to navigate NOVs, fixing improper work and code violations. Miro came over to our apartment the day after thanksgiving to isolate a short that was causing half of our outlets to be out. He was prompt, explained everything he was doing, and within an hour was able to block the part of our wiring that was causing the trouble. New homeowners beware - they will try to take advantage of you! He came to our house and told us that our entire home was done incorrectly and was dangerous and would cost between 40-50k to correct. We used BV Electric to replace our high ceiling flood lights and chandelier bulb with LED lights. The entire process from start to finish went smoothly. Nikoleta in the front office was very responsive to my email inquiries and my request for an appointment on my schedule. The electricians Rigo and Jose arrived right on time and with a very tall and heavy extension ladder that they carefully carried and positioned throughout the house so as to not damage the surrounding walls or furniture. We really appreciate the care they took working in our home. They were knowledgeable and courteous and even wore the cloth booties on their shoes that we gave them to protect the carpet from dirt. We really appreciate BV's service and will definitely be calling them for our next project.

Had an emergency issue with our tenants lights going out. Tried to call multiple electricians but either no one was available for the next day or they didn't reply. Finally got referred to Cole Hardware and was told they had a referral program. They referred me to BV Electric and Miro come out the next day during the 3 hour slot he quoted met. He even shot me a text when he was on his way. He did the work fast and gave some tips regarding a possible future project. Miro was pleasant to talk to and communication was great.

Had an appointment for them to come out between 3PM and 5PM to take a look at a dual doorbell issue.

I called and made an appointment...the earliest one was 2 days away in the late afternoon, but it had to be done and Yelp had a great rating on these guys...what could go wrong.

At 4:50 still a no show...so I called. The dispatch person said that the electrician was supposed to have called us, but he will contact him to have him call. At 5PM, the electrician did call and told my mother that he will be there at 5:30.

He did show up around 5:25...he spent about an hour troubleshooting and did fix one of the doorbells, but the other doorbell had a break in the line somewhere and that I need to call back and schedule an appointment to rewire the doorbell to the chime. It would take about 4 hours and cost about $800 (his estimation).

I called back 2 days later (since I was away for the weekend) and talked to the dispatcher to make an appointment for the job. He said that he was with another customer and that he will call me back on this number. I said OK...thinking that he had caller ID...he then hung up. 4 hours later still no call.

Needless to say, I decided that it might be in my best interest to find another electrician to do the job...since I already have an estimate.

My mother suggested another contractor (I will provide a future review). Mr. Tam came out the next day on time. Spent about 30 minutes TOTAL and fixed the problem with the doorbell. The Chime was broken....with Labor and Parts...total cost $150.00. We asked about the rewiring...he asked why? He said most of the time it either at the button or at the chime...the wires in the walls don't move and unless there are rodents there should not be a break.

BV is only getting 2 stars from me, only because they did fix the 1 one doorbell...otherwise it would be 1 star. I would like to thank the dispatcher for not calling me back...it saved me $650

While trying to figure out why my dryer wasn't working, the dryer sparked and triggered the local circuit breaker to totally shut down. All the lights and power wasn't working on a Saturday morning. I called BV who was opened. After explaining the situation, I was told that I might have triggered the main circuit breaker to shut down. I was told to 1) unplug the dryer and 2) check main circuit breaker. I didn't know where the main breaker was and was told that it was probably located where the power company would check the meter. So I told BV that I would try to find it and call them back if I couldn't locate it. Fortunately, I did find it. Noticed one of the switches was off. I flipped it and the power was restored!! YAY! I didn't need anyone to come out and he saved me from being charged.

Prior to calling BV, I texted another electrician that I had previously used with the information I had given BV. (Since I wasn't able to reach that person, I called BV.) After a power was restored, I finally received a reply text from that electrician - asking me if I wanted him to come out for an emergency visit. I thought, wow, the fix was just to flip a switch - what would that electrician charge me for coming out for an emergency visit?

I will definitely call BV for any future electrical needs. His concern was that the solution was possibly an easy fix and that I could probably take care of the situation myself than to make a needless call to just earn some easy money. Thank you, BV Electric!

Called for an appointment to fix our broken doorbell on a Saturday. Someone answered the call immediately and was able to make an appointment for a few days later. Said the electrician would arrive between 10-12pm and the electrician was on time.

Byron, the electrician was terrific! He called around 9:30 to let me know he was on his way. He arrive a little before 10. Byron provided a quick and concise consultation. Once he identified the work to be done he left to obtain the parts. It took him less than 1 hour to get the parts and begin the job. Byron is a clean, competent and diligent worker. Would definitely hire him again. Very nice guy, too.

The cost was $149 for the first hour and $99 per hour after that. Time accounts for consultation, retrieval of parts and work performed. If you have a small job I would call BV. Otherwise, it's a little pricey.

This shop I had recommended to me by local hardware store, and I was amazed. We had an emergency loss of power at our dental office Saturday night, and they came out Monday 7am, and again in the afternoon to complete diagnosis and to fix it. It was a major job and I was desperate. finding the location of the short of the negative wire in a basement junction box was remarkable, and they showed me where it had had little fire in the box. We avoided a major fire in our major box.
They are straight shooters, honest, and EXTREMELY competent!!!!
Open and honest, and educated me on electrical issues.
A+ I can't recommend them more highly, and they have displaced my prior electrician.

Quick response: I requested a service call one afternoon and BV sent two smart clean-cut guys my way at 10 am the next day.

Quality work: No fussing around. They replaced a single circuit to my laundry closet with separate circuits and outlets for the washer and dryer, replacing the old wire with brand new. The conduit was attached to the outside of my house.

Sam and Johnny were excellent. They communicated their arival time to me and were professional throughout the visit. They explained what was needed during the rewiring of a doorbell on an old house with 2 chimes and to install a new nest hello video doorbell. They helped me reduce viewablewires without having to open up any walls. Unfortunately the repair was more complicated than we were hoping for but they worked quickly to help keep the cost down. I put in a request via Cole Hardware. They called me back right away. I asked for their license number and they provided it. When I looked them up on the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) I noticed that they did not have Workers' Compensation insurance, a requirement if they have employees. Consequently I asked if they would be sending out the owner, the only person that can legally perform work without providing workers' compensation insurance. They said the owner would not be doing the work and claimed that they indeed had workers' compensation insurance. Nevertheless the CSLB indicates that they have claimed not to have employees since 2010. I wouldn't hire them until they take care of this problem.

I had PG&E came to update my meter and found the pervious contractor left a piece of metal ring in the main panel. So PG&E took my meter and left me without power. I needed an electrician asap to remove this hazardous thing from the panel otherwise PG&E would not restore power to my house. I called a least 10 electricians and only few are available but would charge me big bucks and some were suggesting changing whole panel. (Don't know why that's necessary)

Miro was nice and willing to come even after normal working hour to make this quick fix for me. And after realizing the repair was taking less time than he anticipated, he offer to charge less than we agreed on. That's amazing!! He is the most honest contractor I ever came across.

I was searching for an electrician to do a simple repair at my house. I had tried to replace a three-way switch and a light fixture but was having extreme difficulty. I turned to Google to try to find some local electricians to come out and help me with this problem. Two of the three didn't reply, but BV electric replied within 24 hours and within 48 hours I was able to book an appointment with an electrician that worked for my time schedule.

On the day of the electrical visit I received a courtesy call 30 minutes before arrival. Upon arrival Rigo showed up and was very friendly and helpful. I was able to show him the issue and he was able to diagnose the problem and get started right away. One of the great things that Rigo did was he allowed me to watch and participate in his install. by doing this he help me gain further insight and understanding of the electrical work that was being done on my home.

In the end the visit from Rigo and BV electric was an A+ in my book Rigo was friendly, informative and very professional. He did his work quickly, accurately and safely. I will definitely be using them again in the future for all of my electrical project needs! If you are in need of an electrician you should definitely consider BV Electric they do a great job.

I have had not one but TWO electricians over to address a specific issue - a power outage in one room of my home. One failed to address, and the other put in a fix that lasted just four months.

On take three, I contacted six electricians. BV was the first to respond promptly, and was able to schedule within the week (whereas others were weeks out).

Rigo came and was great. He quickly identified the issue, explained the source, and had a fix in place quickly.

Most surprisingly, the bill was much less than the prior two electricians who had been unable to fix my problem!

I hired BV a few months ago to install a Nestcam and to move some switches around at the back of my house and install an outlet outside on the deck in the back.

The technician was friendly and accommodating and did good work.

During the job, a plumbing line was hit and BV spent an extra day at my place working to fix the damage caused by it and also replaced a few places in my sink that got damaged due to contamination when the pipe was drilled into and had insulation pollute the line. They owned up to their mistake and fixed it to my satisfaction.

Just had work done by Sam C. Terrific worker - handled a bunch of jobs quickly and efficiently and was extremely good about explaining what the problem was and the fix needed. It wasn't cheap, but Sam was exceptional and I will use BV and will ask for him in the future.

Contacted BV for some work on our house. It needed to have some wiring redone, added breakers, and added outlets. An electrician came out and I called the office afterwards to get an estimate. I talked to the owner and he gave me a very high estimate. I asked him for a breakdown of the charges and he told me he would have to talk with the person who was at the house since he did not see the property. Generally he said it would take 2 people 10 hrs each to do the work. I never got an itemized estimate. I hired another company to do the work. The work was done in 3.5 hr by 2 guys and the cost was 1/3 of the estimate he gave me. It seemed to me like going to a car dealer for a repair and the charge was decided by what the book said, not the actual time involved.

They have been working on an intercom system for our building since July. The team that visits the building is professional and easy to deal with, but it is November and we do not have a working intercom. The last time I asked for an update the office told me they could not provide a timeline given that the manufacturer was replacing a part. In my opinion, since BV Electric chose this system and manufacturer, they should be pushing them for a timeline for resolution. It pains me to provide such a poor review because I like Rigo and the team on site, but they are not working hard enough to resolve our issue.

We had an electrical emergency at home late at night. We contacted couple other electricians and they were not able to help. Miro, from BV electrical was able to troubleshoot the problem via a video chat in a few minutes and was super helpful. We could not have had a peaceful rest of our evening without him. Nicoletta callee me to keep me updated when the electrician would come. That helped tremendously because my schedule was quite busy that day. Rigo called me to let me know he was 20 minutes from arriving and he waited for me because traffic was really bad.
Rigo took a look and said the panel was really outdated and needed to be replaced. He assess the problem and disconnected a transformer that connected the doorbell which has burnt out. Unfortunately he could not fix the electrical problem as the job was bigger than expected.

Miro and his team were absolutely fantastic. They met with me pre-construction, reviewed the plans, and went over the specialty lighting materials I had purchased on my own. As many projects have change orders, Miro and team were extremely flexible and worked with me and the city inspectors. to address all of the requirements. Sam on the team was an expert in LEDs and colored LEDs and was able to quickly solve for how to work with the latest and most complex technologies including WIFi controlled LEDs. When I had a hiccup with the installation of a shower head that interfered with an LEd can light, Miro and team were quickly able to come back to remedy the situation. Miro was extremely fair in his contract pricing and while there were a number of items which we did not anticipate, Miro was exceptionally gracious and kept to our contract. I am extremely pleased with the quality of work and will use him as my go to electrician in the future.

Called to install a porch light at my parents house that already had the wiring set up and to also give an estimate on replacing a switch box. They definitely know what they are doing- bad thing is they are VERY overpriced. They charge about $100 by the hour and I was told by Boris that it was a very simple job and would only take an hour. they sent two techs who only had to install the switch and the light itself since the wiring was already done by a previous electrician. They left to get a missing part and came back almost two hours later, then they took their time doing the job itself. They charged me $500. They gave a crazy estimate on the other project as well- and were using scare tactics on me to get the job done through them. i didn't call them back. Two stars for being knowledgeable in their craft and minus 3 for shady business.

I had a super positive experience with Miro.

He not only was punctual and provided excellent communication, he displayed superior knowledge.

Also, it struck me that the work that he did for me, compared to how I perceived the problem, was very honest. IE He found a simple solution and charged me fairly, rather than making it seem like a bigger problem which he easily could have done.

Those guys are super fast to reply to email messages through YELP! I received a call in 5 minutes after sending a message. I provided all information about project and got a quote over the phone. Unfortunately I wasn't able to hire BV Electric. They quoted $129/Hr and it was over my budget.
Update: This guys are serious about providing an excellent service. I got a follow up call from Miro and he dropped by to provide me with an exact estimate. Per his opinion the project should be limited to troubleshooting and this definitely changes a lot. They are bonded, licensed and insured. Will update my review again if I decide to go with BV electric.

Miro, the owner came out to look at my electrical outlet that stopped working and a fan light that only works with a remote control. I appreciated his detailed explanations, what it would cost (lots!) and why.
He told me I might just run an extension cord for a lamp (saving thousands) and just use the remote until I want to replace the relatively new fan light and new wall switch - it's programmed.
I appreciate his honesty and will call him in the future, and refer him to others.

Had a very good experience Miro at BV Electric.

We hired them for the major project of a complete re-wire of our house. We had a scare where we smelled some kind of electrical burnout, but couldn't find the source. We called BV as they had done some small projects on our house before, and completed them well. At first, we had them out to diagnose the problem, and they offered to charge an hourly rate to hunt down the problem. However, thorough additional conversation we just decided to bite the bullet and go for the very expensive re-wire to get the house completely off the old knob and tube wiring, and get it up to code.

They were very quick in turning around an estimate and then contract. It was expensive, but it was a major project, and I knew it would be. I really wanted to have peace of mind that I wouldn't die in an electrical fire, so I was willing to pay for experts that I knew would perform the job correctly.

They started the job ASAP as I was leaving the country so I could make sure we were in agreement on the placement of new outlets and lights before I left. They continued the job onward with my husband supervising. Due to the holiday and scheduling constraints, the job took longer than expected, which was an inconvenience. However, they made sure to cause minimal disruptions and to ensure that we had power at all times, and extensively cleaned up the job site at the end of each day.

BV was completely by the book the entire time, making sure we were fully up to code, and having the appropriate in-progress inspections. At the end of the project, we easily passed inspection, which was my main goal. So happy to have everything now safe, legal and with many more useable outlets in this 90-year-old home!

I think the best thing about BV, and why we selected them again, is their ability to finish a job completely, including any follow up. As things came up, or difficulties arose, they didn't nickel and dime us, which I really appreciate when I'm spending tens of thousands of dollars already.
The office staff was also very efficient in terms of scheduling, and invoicing (and also appreciate that I was able to pay with a credit card). Would use them again for any other future projects, though I think we're fully set for a while!

I should have read reviews before I called Miro. Especially. Brandan S, Bill V and Samantha S. My experienced was the same. After agreeing to put Cable from outside to inside for $950, Miro tried to bully and scare me as well. All I wanted was the cable wired into the house. He told me I need to moved my PG&E meter to the outside as I would get radiation poising. He said my PG&E connection to the street was not up to code. My home passed inspection for work inside house. He refused run the cable. I don't write negative reviews, but Miro is over the top. If Miro harnesses me I will serve him with a criminal restraining order.

I called BV at 10:30am because the electric base board heater in a condo I was selling and scheduled to close the next day suddenly stopped working.
They were awesome, the woman on the phone asked me a few questions and checked on her guys in the field to see if anyone was ahead of schedule in the area. She told me someone would be there by Noon. At 11:50am Rigo arrived, early! He promptly looked at the problem, did some testing, then explained the results to me clearly. Gave me a written quote and then I approved it. He completed the work, showed me how to use the new controller and did a great job. Rigo did an excellent job and I would recommend anyone use them.

Two men showed up precisely at 8am as promised, covered the floor with thin plastic for any debris, went quietly to work replacing a ceiling fan and finished in an hour with hardly any noise and left the room spotless. This was absolutely amazing! I am a former facilities manager and I have never seen a job done so fast, with meticulous care and done perfectly (it wasn't an easy job). HIGHLY recommended!

I had the best experience with Miro and his team. They truly saved the day for me. I had them scheduled for a job that happened to be at the same time I had a new washer/dryer installed. It turned out that the old one used 240V and the new one 120.

Though I had called them for a different job they accommodated me and took care of the issue so that the installation job could proceed. Contacted Miro to get a quote as I had lost power that day, and before even accepting the appointment he had given me advice to contact PG&E first to have them take a look first. His advice solved my issue and I am very surprised that he would even let me know I could fix it for free, I would have happily given him my business. Such a nice guy. I'd not use BV electric again without looking for an alternative first and would not recommend them to friends.

On the plus side: their phone service is fabulous (as other Yelpers have commented) and they could fit me in much sooner than competitors.

However the job they did was sloppy: they made no effort to try (through knocking or other exploratory means) to figure out the orientation of the beams in walls or ceiling: they just cut away. The result was a wrongly placed hole (one that needed to be re-cut) in both. They also only half-plastered the (now over-large oval hole) in the ceiling. When I asked them to fill it the electrician said he'd run out of plaster. A second indication of unpreparedness was that they didn't have the correct (thin/pancake) junction box so had to run out and buy one.

I suspect the positive and negative are linked and they're taking on too many jobs to do them well.

If I could give half stars I'd give 2.5: this was a true mix of good and bad.

These guys are great! I spoke with Miro on 7/6, told him we needed to run an electric line for our new range hood & emailed a couple of photos. Miro called me back within 1/2 hr. & gave me rates. Byron came on 7/7 & showed up 15 min. early! He was very knowledgeable & told us exactly what needed to be done. Not only was he efficient & friendly, he also hooked up the range hood, cleaned up & it all took 1-1/4 hours. He gave us great advice on sealing a few areas around the hood. We had originally scheduled Best Buy to install the hood on 7/11 (the soonest appt.) for $110, but they required us to have electricity available at the hood. BV's rate was $129/hr. + $10 in materials for this job, but I was given a senior discount. We got 2 jobs done for $29 more than the cost of just the hood installation by Best Buy.

We'll definitely use them again. I got a few business cards to give to friends/neighbors needing electrical work.

Just used BV Electric to replace a 40 yr old door entry system in my 3 unit building. They picked out the perfect unit for the job. A very upscale looking Italian system. We hit a couple of snags with getting unit programmed as the directions were in a mix of IKEA-like diagrams and fragments of English but Rigo and Mori were amazing figuring it all out. The system is not fully operational and my tenants just love being able to see who's at the door as well as being able to buzz them in. I'd use BV Electric again in a heart beat!

This afternoon, Donald at NorthBeach Hardware connected us to BV Electric for a problem outlet in our garage that had started humming. (We googled humming outlets and it's a bad thing.).

The electrician wasn't even fully in the house before he tried to sell me on a full rewiring at a $25k cost. He didn't take time to understand my issues before pushing the most expensive option on me.

The BEST. their crew is incredibly thorough, hardworking and knowledgeable. Armando, Isreal, Carlos- the highest quality electricians. they installed recessed lighting, rewired switches and changed out multiple sconces in our new home. We lost power in half of our home due to a damaged power line, a number of major appliances fried. Miro and his crew came by and checked every outlet and wiring in the house. BV Electric upgraded several two-prong outlets to three-prong grounded outlets, replaced several sconce lights, and installed a pull-chain closet light for me. They came on-time (early even), did the work flawlessly and quickly, and left everything looking and working great. A representative of BV Electric came by today named Miro. I had a loss of power to half of the outlets in my home when I disconnected a power cord and it caught on fire. Great experience with BV Electric installing two sconces in our bedroom. The job was to install two new boxes, hard wire in the sconces and connect both boxes to a light switch near the door. Rigo arrived on time and got working immediately. Very professional and handled a couple of unexpected situations (like finding a metal stud right behind one location) quickly and efficiently. We will use them again when we figure out the lighting for our guest bedroom.

FYI - they charge $140/hour plus materials, which we found very reasonable.

We had a scary close call involving a smoking doorbell chime and a visit from SFFD. After several calls to electricians (with no answer) for emergency service, BV Electric was able to connect me with Miro over the phone to assess the situation, and he was able to come first thing the following morning to disconnect the old, faulty wiring. We also scheduled a follow-up service and all the billing was handled seamlessly between Nikoleta and my landlord.

Rigo arrived at 10AM on the dot, was friendly, professional and got to work right away to install a new doorbell system and relabel our fuse box, which was illegible and inaccurate. Rigo discussed all the options for the new doorbell installation so I felt confident that the work being done was exactly what we wanted. When the work was completed, he showed me all the new wiring and patiently answered all of my questions. He also discovered an issue with one of our circuits that we were unaware of. I would absolutely use BV Electric again in the future. Save yourself some time and call them first.

Rigo from BV Electric was fantastic! He replaced our track lighting fixtures with new LED fixtures. He was prompt, professional, and very helpful. We have 14 ft. ceilings and were unable to do this job ourselves. Rigo explained everything as he worked. He also replaced our dimmer switch. He arrived at the agreed upon time. I originally met with this company back in 2012 to receive an estimate on some electrical work that needed to be done at my house. While meeting with the gentlemen ( I do not remember his name anymore) our conversation turned from electrical work to what he did not like about my property and what I SHOULD do to improve it. I was also told a bunch of things needed to be done that I later found out were not necessary by multiple other companies.
After the unfortunate meeting for an estimate, I decided to Yelp about my experience. After my review was posted I received dozens of phone calls with in a very short amount of time ( I did not answer due to the fact that I was working). I was being told to please take down the review, I was hurting their business and to call them ASAP. I originally intended to not take down the review but after numerous phone calls of a harassing nature I decided to take it down so I would be left alone.
I am now writing this post since the first should have been left up to begin with. I do not believe they are an awful company, but I received a very poor experience and do not believe someone should be basically bullied into taking down a post. An opinion is an opinion and a review should be left up whether or not the company likes it.
I can not comment on their pricing because I refused to receive a final bid from them.
Hopefully I will not receive phone calls or Yelp messages from them this time. But if I do, this post will not be taken down by me again.

We hired BV 3 years ago to redo the electrical in our new kitchen. We have had many many issues with the lighting. Our dimmers don't work anymore and one of our under cabinet lights burns out once a month. I just made the trip today for a replacement bulb. When I've mentioned it to Boris he says it's the city's wires outside that are the cause. We paid more than top dollar for our electrical remodel and we have never been happy with the work.

It's all because my husband can't cook bacon.
Every time he cooked bacon, he set off our fire alarm down the hallway, even if he opened up the window. So we resolved to get a hood over our stove. See our review of our roofer, and once we had that solved, we thought we had everything we needed.
Sadly, no. We had the hood installers come, look at our wall, and say, where is your electrical source?
Sigh. We needed a new line brought up into the kitchen for our hood. After calling around, not reaching anyone, we looked to Yelp for help and found BV Electric.
They answered the phone! They came when they said they would for our estimate! They booked the job for just 2 days later! It was like we had hit the jackpot in Electrician service!

I originally met with this company back in 2012 to receive an estimate on some electrical work that needed to be done at my house. While meeting with the gentlemen ( I do not remember his name anymore) our conversation turned from electrical work to what he did not like about my property and what I SHOULD do to improve it. I was also told a bunch of things needed to be done that I later found out were not necessary by multiple other companies.
After the unfortunate meeting for an estimate, I decided to Yelp about my experience. After my review was posted I received dozens of phone calls with in a very short amount of time ( I did not answer due to the fact that I was working). I was being told to please take down the review, I was hurting their business and to call them ASAP. I originally intended to not take down the review but after numerous phone calls of a harassing nature I decided to take it down so I would be left alone.
I am now writing this post since the first should have been left up to begin with. I do not believe they are an awful company, but I received a very poor experience and do not believe someone should be basically bullied into taking down a post. An opinion is an opinion and a review should be left up whether or not the company likes it.
I can not comment on their pricing because I refused to receive a final bid from them.
Hopefully I will not receive phone calls or Yelp messages from them this time. But if I do, this post will not be taken down by me again.

We hired BV 3 years ago to redo the electrical in our new kitchen. We have had many many issues with the lighting. Our dimmers don't work anymore and one of our under cabinet lights burns out once a month. I just made the trip today for a replacement bulb. When I've mentioned it to Boris he says it's the city's wires outside that are the cause. We paid more than top dollar for our electrical remodel and we have never been happy with the work.

It's all because my husband can't cook bacon.
Every time he cooked bacon, he set off our fire alarm down the hallway, even if he opened up the window. So we resolved to get a hood over our stove. See our review of our roofer, and once we had that solved, we thought we had everything we needed.
Sadly, no. We had the hood installers come, look at our wall, and say, where is your electrical source?
Sigh. We needed a new line brought up into the kitchen for our hood. After calling around, not reaching anyone, we looked to Yelp for help and found BV Electric.
They answered the phone! They came when they said they would for our estimate! They booked the job for just 2 days later! It was like we had hit the jackpot in Electrician service!
And then they came to do the job, and they also did an additional line for our fridge, patched up our walls nicely, and had cleaned up the mess and were done by the time we came home from work/school and actually needed to use our kitchen. I am so impressed! I had an electrical problem on a Friday evening. I called BV Electric and the woman who answered the phone was very patient and helpful--even though I was a bit stressed out, and probably not too pleasant to her. I eventually fixed the problem myself and called BV to tell them not to come. But, as it turned out, they had just arrived. Miro from BV was very nice even though he had wasted a trip on a Friday evening. He looked at what I had done, gave me some advice and didn't charge me a thing! Amazing! I hope I don't need an electrician again, but if I do, I'm definitely calling BV Electric.

Our entry way light had gone out and without lights it was completely pitch black if it weren't for our sky light. With sunrise being much later, walking down the stairs before the crack of dawn proved pretty dangerous. (Thank you iPhone flashlight app).

I called over this past weekend and scheduled a time that fit both our schedules. Although we missed our targeted time I got light before the sun went down. They were quick and efficient once they got to my house and best of all they are local. It's important for me to know the people working on my house are familiar with the neighborhood homes.

Miro was a delight to work with. The electrician I hired cancelled on me last minute to install a complex chandelier. I called BV and they sent an electrician right away. Rigo -- an exceptionally pleasant chap -- came to our place to diagnose a bad exterior-light circuit. BV Electric are true professionals and did a fantastic job on a large (for us) and complicated project. I recommend them to anyone who needs any electrical job, on any scale, from a fixture install to a full rewire.

We smelled burning plastic in the house and could not identify the cause. Our house had antique 1920s knob-and-tube wiring for most of the light fixtures and outlets and the previous owners did a horrid hack-job of rewiring the kitchen. So, expecting an electrical fire to break out at any moment, we called BV Electric for an emergency consultation. We picked them because they did a small job for us years ago (installed a bathroom fan) and we were impressed with their skill and professionalism. Miro was our contact, and he gave us an option of either trouble-shooting the burning smell cause and attempting to fix it, or bringing our house electrical into the 21st century with a full rewire.

We opted for a full rewire. We also added about 10 additional outlets throughout the house and three additional recessed lights in the kitchen. Our project manager was Miro, and the work was done by Jose, Armando, and Carlos. Originally, Miro predicted that we'd be done in three days. However, a series of scheduling snafus combined with a long 4th of July weekend to drag this project out to 2.5 weeks. This was an annoyance to me personally, since I had to work from home on some days and live in a disaster-zone of a house for a bit, but I don't see how that could have been helped, given the scope and the timing of this project.

Aside from that, BV Electric impressed me with the professional way in which they handled a large project in a difficult, old-timey house. Specifically, they:

- Took great care to cover all of our furniture with plastic to minimize the impact of the swirling dust cloud generated by their work
- Scrupulously cleaned up at the end of every day
- Created a minimal number of holes for fishing wire, in spite of many unexpected beams of solid wood in odd places inside the walls. (Again: 1920s house.) As the guy who gets to patch those, I appreciate it!
- Somehow managed to rewire our kitchen *without* ripping out the existing wall tile. This significantly reduced the cost of the project.
- Meticulously brought everything to code, including installing dimmer switches for every light fixture in the house and replacing all the halogen bulbs with LEDs.
- Graciously answered all my questions, even when I inconsiderately interrupted their work.

Overall, while this was a bit of an ordeal, BV Electric did their job well and their work passed inspection with flying colors. Very happy to be living in a house with good wiring again, and heartily recommend BV Electric for any job, big or small.

I can't say enough about BV Electric. Twice within two weeks we had electrical issues. Through a methodical process of elimination, Miro determined that we needed to replace a cable in our main box and repair & protect an outdoor outlet on our third floor deck. The second time he determined that an outdoor light had been compromised due to rain getting into the box. Both times, he explained to me what the problems were. He could've opened up our walls and convinced us that we needed new wiring, thus costing us many hundreds of dollars if not more. Instead, he was honest and did only the repairs needed that cost us a few hundred dollars, which earned my trust and loyalty as a customer. Had a great experience with BV Electric when I needed to get a flourescent light fixture in the kitchen fixed. Called in the morning and quickly got someone on the phone to make an appointment.

A guy showed up as expected and examined the faulty fixture to confirm it needed a new ballast. He had one in his truck and was able to replace the old one and get things working again without a hitch.

He was even nice enough to agree to take off his shoes before coming in the house when we asked.

I had BV Electric install track lighting in my living room, and I could not have chosen a better vendor. I highly recommend BV Electric!

First, Miro came by to check out my place (he was running 30 minutes late, and called to let me know -- much appreciated!) and helped me choose the right lights to buy.

Setting up a time for installation was easy. They were very responsive via e mail.

Then, Rigo came to install the lights. He was right on time, super fast, super professional, and 90 minutes later I was good to go.

They even came in under budget on the installation costs. This was as good as it gets when it comes to home improvement projects!

Once again, YELP proves to be an excellent resource. I called BV electric earlier last week to have an outlet dropped for a new dishwasher we were installing. The job was done on time and professionally.

Now....the reason this is a Five/Five Star Business: On Saturday, I decided to play electrician and replace some light switches. I screwed something up, and blew a switch...and couldn't figure out what went wrong...the switch would not work and i thought i really screwed somehting up (1/3 of the house was without power).

So I called BV again (Sat around 7:20 PM) and spoke with Miro. He understood my situation (after I stumbled through my explaination) and offered to come out Sunday morning. He arrived, troubleshot the situation and had me fixed up in no time. I fully utilized him for an hour as he did more replacements and fixed some of my prior ameteur attempts.

Mrio was so personable and friendly (our dog loved him, and she is an excellent judge of character). He was honest, hard working and I trust him. In fact, we are going to be using BV for the remainder of our improvement project.

So I learned two things this weekend:

1. Do not do electrical on your own with limited knowledge, or pretending you have knowledge, or thinking you have knowledge because you watched You Tube.

2. Call BV!

I can't praise or thank Miro and his guys ENOUGH! Miro was determined to help us when, literally, NO OTHER company in San Francisco would help. We had a roof-mounted blower for our Thermadoor hood that had failed. Thermador came out and determined everything inside was working fine. But they don't work on anything on the roof. Called the original installers, Kitchen Experts of California - DON'T EVER USE THEM FOR YOUR REMODEL!!!! They would not help and THEY are the ones who and INSTALLED the roof blower!!! Finally Miro. And Miro actually referred me to others who he thought were more appropriate to do the work. NOPE. NADA. NOTHING. NOONE. But Miro. I ordered a $750 new blower because we all thought it must be that. Miro and his guys came over late on a Friday afternoon and installed the new blower. YAY. Nope, still didn't work. Miro literally said we aren't leaving here today until this is working! And he and his guys through sheer determination figured out the problem had to be the connectors but they were hidden away in the ceiling of the pitched roof....for which we have no access. But the guys wouldn't give up and decided to cut into the ceiling in the hall closest - so as not to ruin our kitchen ceiling! Et Voila!!! There was the duct work, connectors and all. And they were right. It was the connectors. Yeah, they weren't fully plugged in! The lazy, corner cutting Kitchen Experts of California crew didn't PLUG THE CONNECTORS IN PROPERLY and then sealed the duct work into our ceiling! Well good thing the final resolution was easy if not cheap. But now we have a hole in our ceiling. No problem. One of the guys knows a guy who can cover it with providing future access into the ceiling for us. They were out early Saturday morning and the project was completed in an hour! I will never use ANY other Electrician for any needs ever again in San Francisco other than BV Electric!!! I will refer everyone I know to Miro and the guys at BV Electric forever!! And I will say once again to never, ever, ever use Kitchen Experts! Thanks Miro...more work, real electrical work, coming your way.....!!!

I called BV after getting an outrageous bid from another electric company to do a bit of DSL wiring from our office down to the panel in the basement. Had an emergency when a tree branch fell taking out our power lines. PGE couldn't restore our power until the city signed off on repairs and the city won't sign off until everything is up to code. Our circuit breaker was from th 70s - these guys came in within a few hours and got it all done, including multiple calls to both PGE & the city to get the right guys with the right stickers to my house. Power was restored within 36 hours - try getting the city permit guys to show up at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon. These guys did just that. Plus the work looks great, workers were polite and on time. Turned a lousy event into a good experience.

i was not able to be on sight as i am fighting cancer and have been displaced for over 2 months do to a flood caused by others. these guys did exactly what i requested and spoke with me as they initiated the work on the phone. they worked quickly and very professionally.

I am 100%, completely and more than satisfied with BV Electric.
More importantly, I am ECSTATIC with the level of service Boris provides.

Boris came to the house today (1/2/12) promptly at 8:30am as we had discussed prior to New Years. Boris is a true professional. He worked to understand my specific issues, the cause of the issues and the events that lead up to the issue (my uncle had offered to help in the garage so that our two lights would turn on simultaneously vs. having to turn them on separately. Despite what appeared to be best efforts from my Uncle, there was an issue that was causing the circuit breaker to pop every time we turned on the electricity to the garage.)

I thought we were in for a BIG service call.

Upon inspection, Boris identified that my Uncle had indeed done a professional job running wires, etc. The only issue was that one of our circuit breakers had been damaged due to an inconspicuous wire cut that was causing a short.

Boris provided additional insights on how best to finish out the garage drywall so that the electrical would be 100% up to code.

And what I was thinking would be big money turned out to be under $200.00.

Ok people, so far, so good. Called BV, spoke to very nice and accomodating woman with a lovely european accent. Charging minimum 1 Hr = $90 plus 15 minutes travel time. Willing to come tomorrow at 7:30 am (pending confirmation of availability). Happy to have Boris call me about what he thinks is involved in the job.

UPDATE: Boris called, confirmed that the job (moving a 220-Volt receptacle 5 feet along a wall, surface mount) is a small one, and should take no more than the 1-hour minimum. Told me his employee Francisco would be covering the job

UPDATE: Francisco came on time, did the job in 1 hour, and (from what I can tell) did a great job. Courteous, clean, efficient and effective. $135 parts and labor, entirely met my expectations based on what I was told.

I contacted several contractors, and it was difficult to find a licensed electrician to conduct a big electrical job in a short timeframe in this city. BV Electric came through from the get go and agreed to schedule an appointment on a Saturday, within two days of my request. BV completed a rewire of a home, and additional work. Miro, the lead electrician, was always professional, knowledgeable of the latest technology, provided excellent customer service, and obtained the city permits (that's a job in itself). The only negative was there an aesthetic issue with conduit, but it was resolved after further discussion. These guys are great. After a disaster with a handyman trying to hide flatscreen and sound system cables behind lath and plaster walls, BV Electric saved the day. Miro was on time and gave an estimate, the work was scheduled within a week. The guys came on time, did the job perfectly and within the estimated time frame. Not sure it was the cheapest option but I just wanted the job done properly and now the wall looks great.

I would absolutely hire them again. Could not be happier with the results.

Boris and Vesna are an amazing duo -- very efficient, extraordinarily thorough and reliable, and easily among the best contractors we've encountered in our initial home improvement efforts. I had competitive bids from 3 other electrical contractors -- BV's was very competitive, but what made me choose them was that the definitive advice and recommendations Boris provided were pragmatic, realistic, and clear to someone like me who had a bevy of complex and inter-dependent home restoration challenges.

Boris and his talented crew removed an aging fuse box, upgraded electric to 200amp, and worked with me (and PG&E's much, much slower team) to relocate service from the rear to the front of my home. He also provided an ample number of updated wiring so my wife and I could live comfortably, and checked the existing wiring on the remaining outlets / lights to ensure we could live safely with the new power supply. It's set us up nicely to follow-up with more wiring upgrades on our timetable as we continue our projects over time.

BV Electric came recommended to us by Cole Hardware's referral service -- from my experience with them, I couldn't more highly recommend them. Amazing and reliable electrical contractors and just excellent people to work with!

I took down a ceiling fixture to get it repaired and when I went to reinstall it, I discovered that the junction box was not secure.

Rigo came out as scheduled and on time. He determined that the braced junction box was improperly installed and had come loose. He replaced it with a proper retrofit bax and reinstalled the light fixture. For me, it would have been an all day project, for Rigo, less than an hour - a testament to his knowledge and skill!

Moved into a house with very old wiring. Called Miro and got a quote that was less than any of the other ones I called. He was also nice on the phone and not so grumpy like the other ones. These guys are not afraid of big jobs that need to be done fast.

The team showed up two days later and completed the job on time. Very hard working and nice people. Installed several lights for free. Always nice about talking about price changes and additions. I would definitely use this crew again for any electrical. They also fixed our doorbell for free and come out whenever we need new lights installed right away. Several electricians work with this company and they can do big rewiring jobs much faster than smaller groups.

I scheduled an appointment to replace a very old--possibly from the 1920s--outlet, repair/replace a malfunctioning 3-way switch, and replace a malfunctioning dimmer switch. We'd been living with the last two, but as long as an electrician was coming....
While Rigo was here I remembered that one of the outlets (only about 25 years old) in the kitchen was unreliable, so I asked Rigo if he'd have time to deal with that as well. And he did.
He did have to do a parts run, for a 3-way switch and a dimmer switch. He was also working with some original button-style switches on the lower floor end of the 3-way, although it was a newer switch on the upper floor that he determined needed to be replaced.
The whole shebang, including the parts run, took 1.5 hours. $240.50 well-spent.
I got the referral from a friend, who had used BV Electric after a referral from Cole Hardware.

Very horrible service, overpriced, and scammy. I had an electrician come out to do 2 projects - install a 220V outlet for my dryer and an outlet for my microwave. I was quoted 1 hour for the dryer project ($129) and 2 hours for the microwave ($258). An electrician came out and took 2 hours for the dryer (1 hour of that was driving around gathering parts) and decided to charge me $592 ($205 for parts - and after he left I looked it up and that outlet cost $35 and 20' of romex cost $12). He said he wasn't able to do the work for the microwave because it would take 6 hours so after using some scare tactics (saying it's impossible to do this simply and needs to be done right), he quoted me $1500 for 6 hours of work and would come back later - so I chose to trust him and said ok. He came back a few days later and completed the project in 2 hours and still charged me $1500 - FOR 2 HOURS OF WORK. I must be in the wrong business if I can charge clients $750/hour for simple electrical work. After I complained about the price, he said that if I went to him directly instead of the company that it would've been cheaper and tried to give me his phone number for future projects (HAH!). I will never use this company again. Avoid them at all costs!! Sadly I can't read the electricians name on the receipt so I can't let you know who to avoid.

When I called the company to dispute the cost, they apologized and admit that it was wrong but *very generously* offered 10% off my next project with them. Never use this company.

**EDIT** The company replied with some more lies. They claim that 2 electricians were at my house for 4 hours for the second project. In reality - 1 electrician was at my house for 2.5 hours (arrived at 9am and left at 11:30). I called them at 11:40 (in my phone logs) to dispute the transaction costs. The second electrician only showed up for an hour (and I doubt he really did anything). This company is ridiculous. The total for the second job should've been closer to $600 including parts (even though I was quoted $260 on the phone).

Great experience! The technician who assisted me was Rigo. He had an appointment finish early and was able to start by job sooner which worked out better for my schedule (called to confirm I was available before coming over). I have worked with BV Electric previously and was very satisfied with their work. Now I needed a new dedicated grounded outlet in an old house. I was under a tight timeline due to medical reasons. I called on a Sunday and Miro answer the phone. We set up an appointment for the estimate. They are always on time, which is very important to me as I have a tight schedule, as most people do these days. Miro arrived on time. All communications by telephone and email were prompt. They squeezed the work in, came on time, were finished in the time frame they stated. Everything was cleaned up upon completion. I received both the written estimate and the paid receipt by email from Boris. Nicoleta handled the office communications promptly. I highly recommend them. My experience with Boris in helping install a common panel (we are going through a condo conversion) and bringing our electricity panels up to snuff was excellent. He was knowledgeable, trustworthy and did the job in a very timely manner. The bill did end up being more expensive due to some last minute shenanigans from the city inspector who required some additional items that couldn't have been foreseen but these guys spent the extra day and time getting it done quickly. When PGE needed a call, Boris called them several times dealing with busy tones and finally getting through to them and delivering the information needed. The only thing I can't comment on is how well they do finish work on drywall holes, etc... BV rough patched up the holes but then we had our painter do the finishing work.

BV Electric is a family owned and operated business. They work extremely hard in building an honest hard working company. Talked to Boris before the Labor Day weekend, who told me the holiday and weekend rate is $150.00 an hour, regular weekday rates are much cheaper. As it wasn't an emergency we scheduled appointment for a non-holiday weekday. however, The bill was $145.00 an hour ($99.00 an hour for each additional hour). I thought when he said the rates are lower I didn't know he meant only $5.00 lower.
Following my review I got a call from BV Electric at 7:20AM asking me to take off my review, as it was damaging his business. What I wrote is the truth and I don't think I should be bullied to erase it.

These guys are great! We had a serious electrical issue occur on a Sunday. We called BV Electric and Boris called right back. He asked us a bunch of questions. His advice, which was right on the money, was to speak with PG&E first, as it sounded like the cause was likely from the lines outside. Sure enough, that was the problem and PG&E fixed it. While that was happening, Boris called us back to see if the problem was resolved! He then came by the same day to fix the electrical panel, which had been damaged. I couldn't ask for better service or a more competent electrician.

Miro and his crew did a great job re-wiring my old victorian flat. They even came back months later after the painting was done to make sure all the light fixtures where properly installed. The prices were very competitive with other electricians that we got estimates from. The job at our house was kind of tough. Old wiring. Previous electricians had left a mess which we caught late and needed someone to sort out. Subsequent contractors had built over connection boxes making them inaccessible. BV handled all that with grace and determination and did a great job.

So, why the four stars? Little things were left for me to do: light switches reinstalled upside down or left unscrewed from their boxes. They aren't hard to do. I just don't think they should have been left that way.

Still, I would hire them again. But, I would also check their work more closely.

The service was terrific--professional, very competent, efficient--repaired two broken switches and another minor issue with a fluorescent light tube that was malfunctioning.
I would definitely call again. My only issue was that I was told the fee was $145/hr, which was fine. But, I was not told that if 2 men came, it would be $99. more/hr. I don't think my job required 2 people. I was pleased that my problems were solved but next time, will make sure to request only one electrician.

Regarding this response. I am a reasonable person and made every effort to communicate and clarify the issues in this regard. I found the discrepancies confusing, and frustrating.
1) on the first visit all I needed was a call regarding the times and was not given an update regarding the tardiness whi8ch transpired. I had to follow up personally and at that time was told that the electericians would be late.

2) I was in fact told by tony that boris was sleeping and i even asked twice about this and was clarified.

3) what i was told originally was based on incorrect information.
a) that track lighting in the kitchen was not up to code which was not correct according to boris track is possible
in the kitchen. he also amended that recessed lighting as tony presented to me had to be done a special
way since there is an upstairs unit which requires special recessed fixtures which are more expensive
b) that two light fixtures were on the estimate when only one was verified at the time, two tracks (one in the kitchen and one in the living room), one light fixture in the bedroom, to look at a transformer in the downstairs unit

I am disappointed with the time it took me, the discrepancies, the confusion and the time it took to get back to me regarding questions required to straighten all this out. The 2nd electrician who was called came out on time, offered his opinion, gave me a correct quote the first time and there was no confusion at all.

I am sorry that this had to happen, it was certainly not my intention nor my fault. again, as i said before, tony and boris and you are polite and nice, but the service was not acceptable and i wouldn't be able to trust that the job would be done properly either.

I am renting a 2 bedroom apartment and no one could figure out how the porch lights and the outlets in the 2 bedroom were connected. I went through 3 electricians, and then I contacted BV Electric (as a referral through the local Cole's store). BV electric fixed my electrical problem giving me instructions over the phone. BV electric was very patient and to my surprise they did not charge me anything. Very happy with their professional service. Prior to calling an electrician, we called a plumber who told us we need an electrician and charged us $80.

A few weeks ago on a Friday evening a truck hooked the power line coming into the building and tore it down along with the conduit and electrical connections. Miro came out the next day (a Saturday) and explained exactly what it would take to repair and upgrade to current code standards. Miro's crew was here Monday morning and finished by Tuesday evening. Then Miro came back for separate inspections by the city and PG&E.

Good job. Good workmanship. They made a bad situation come out as well as possible.

Boris kept it simple on the phone, Raul came out less than an hour after I called, told me the price-ranges up-front, then identified the problem (previous owners'/renters' Mickey Mouse wiring) and fixed it within the first visit. He kept me in the loop on what he was doing and what was wrong, and gave advice on other issues in the house he wasn't even going to be working on.

These guys continue to rule! I needed a combined ceiling fan/heater/light unit replaced in my bathroom. I was gonna do it myself, but there was a maze of wires up there because of the three separate circuits. BV came by on short notice, and did an excellent job for a fair price. They are professional, polite, and knowledgeable. If you need a small job like that done, call BV. They won't disappoint.

These guys made an appointment to meet me at home at 3 pm. I leave work early to meet them. No one shows up. They call at 3:45 saying that they can be there at 6 pm! I didn't make an appointment at a certain time to sit around for three hours waiting for them. Don't have your time wasted too.

BV electric did an excellent job repairing recessed lights in my bathroom. I had several halogen recessed lights in my bathroom that weren't working. They were able to replace them with energy efficient LED lights. Granted this wasn't a cheap repair, but I felt their estimate was fair based on other estimates I received. The lights turned out great and would definitely use them again for any electric repairs I may have.

We were thrilled by the good service provided by Miro and Carlos of BV Electric, and the price was reasonable when compared with two other quotes. They installed 4 fixtures efficiently including one that needed a new box, replaced a 3 way switch, evaluated a fifth fixture and found that we need to have a gas line capped, and checked several sockets that turned out to have wiring issues. In each instance, they explained the situation clearly and were eager to please us. Miro was called to another job on an emergency that he resolved without delay. We will definitely call them again should we need further service.

We hired BV Electric to redo all of the lighting in our new home in Montclair. They did an amazing job and were a couple thousand dollars less than another bid we had received. They came in and put in recessed lights, outlets, a cable lighting system, and a bathroom fan in two days time. We could not be happier.

Our non-profit needed to intall a new electrical outlet for a dishwasher. We used Cole Hardware's referral service to get a recommendation. They said BV Electric is who you want for the job. Within the hour, Boris had contacted me!

Boris was available the next day. He arrived on time and completed the job within an hour or so. Boris is professional, curtious and very trustworthy. And he's a nice guy!

We have used him for subsequent jobs and will continue to use him. You should too!

Having dealt with two no-show electricians on a tight-scheduled project, BV was recommended to me by a local Cole's hardware store. They have been by far the most professional and trustworthy company I have encountered yet.

They arrive EXACTLY on time - request Francisco, he is a genius. All their work is done in a timely manner and they are willing to go above and beyond to ensure the customer is satisfied - no joke. I called once with an emergency and Vesna had an electrician rush over within fifteen minutes - amazing!

Vesna runs the office and couldn't be easier to work with. She's incredibly organized, friendly & knowledgeable and seems to always be looking out for the client's best interest, which is unheard of these days. I have worked with her on a hi-rise condominium project requiring lots of paperwork to pass through an HOA committee and she provided us with all documentation/support we needed, no problem.

I could not be happier with BV's work - I've used them several times and will most certainly be calling them again. What a relief to have a company you can count on - I highly recommend them!

I recommend BV electric.

I called Boris late on a Friday afternoon to help with an old pendant lamp that was flickering and making scary crackling noices, and a bathroom exhaust fan that had stopped working altogether. Boris offered to have someone there that Saturday, but due to conflicts in my schedule we arranged an appointment at 1:00 on Monday afternoon. The electrician called me around noon to say he had finished a prior job and was available to start earlier if I was. When he arrived, he quickly diagnosed both problems, found a replacement fan at a supply store across town, drove across town to get it, and worked late to get it installed that evening. He had been unable to find the right part for the lamp, but got it the next day and was back the next afternoon to finish the job. All in all, very good, dedicated and friendly service. The price seemed reasonable for the amount of time this job required.

The only reason BV Electric gets a less than 5 stars is some of the communications regarding scheduling could have been improved. Although I was told by the office that the electrician was scheduled to come back and finish the second day, he apparenlty did not get the word until I called that afternoon to follow up with him directly. To his credit, though, he followed through and got the job done that day.

I'll use BV in the future.

We couldn't be happier with BV Electric. We called in an emergency because of a power failure caused by a burned out circuit breaker. They assessed the issue, cost, and time it would take to repair and were dead on. They explained the issues and fixed the problem in no time. They were super easy to deal with and quick to fix everything: we couldn't recommend them enough.

These guys worked with me over several visits to install some tricky LED under-cabinet lights which required a transformer. One of the parts shipped from Lamps Plus was defective, requiring a return visit from BV which I was not charged for.

The electricians were highly skilled and very pleasant to be around.

after 2 years of TIC to Condo conversion and a nightmare of contractor misrepresentation, finding Boris and BV Electric refreshes my faith in contractor integrity and contractor humanity!

(Electricians I called a week previously yelled at me when I asked for an estimate! Really guys, its not smart to yell at us girls when we are the one's with the check book!)

These guys were great. I don't write a lot of yelp reviews, but I feel like these guys earned it. Their estimator Nero came out and gave me a fair quote for wiring up a new tankless water heater as well as some lighting work. They weren't the cheapest quote that I got but they seemed the most competent. They were prompt getting their guys out there and their services were quick and professional. They cleaned up a lot of my conduit and ran a new thermostat line for me that was tucked cleanly through the crawl space up into the wall. After some miscommunication (probably on my end) about what work they would do and what the plumbers were responsible for, Nero came back out and spent an hour of his time in the rain to tie up a couple of loose ends. On top of that, my plumbers initially had a hard time firing up the new tankless and suspected that the electrical was faulty, so Nero sent his guys back out after hours to confirm that everything was wired up correctly (it was).

In short - great electricians, fair price, and really go the extra mile to make sure their customers are satisfied.

The fabulous problem-solvers at BV Electric were able to move an outlet so that I could relocate my microwave and not have to climb on a stool to reach it. Additionally, they wired and installed a new range hood, which means that I can serve dinner to family and friends without smoke alarms going off! Simply the best emergency response ever. We bought an electric Smart Car thinking all we had to do was plug it into whatever outlet we had in the garage. Wrong. Miro from BV came early the morning after I called, assessed the situation, and not only created a safe plug-in for our car, but rewired our entire garage, replacing burned out outlets and outdated wiring with 4 circuits where there had only been one. The price was extremely reasonable, everything was clearly explained, and I almost hope I have an electrical problem in the future so that I can call them again.

When my older Sunset district home with original wiring and fuse system had problems, I looked on YELP for a local electrical contractor and BV seemed a perfect fit. Miro answered my call first thing in the morning and made arrangements to work around my crazy schedule to evaluate the problem (a big one). He had a permit and crew on site the next day and they upgraded my panel, took care of some wiring issues, added new grounding and developed a master plan for the older outlets in the house. Added to that, they took special care to make sure my prize possession (the cat) did not get out while all the work was going on. Miro and his crew were prompt, professional and made sure that our safety was their first priority. I am so grateful! BV Electric is my new electrical contractor!

After two very expensive bids plus an impossible verdict from another electrician, I contacted BV Electric through Cole Hardware referral service (that says something in itself). They found a creative solution, got it done quickly, AND for less than the other electricians. Also, I'd like to point out that they made a small mistake. Mistakes happen, but what is important is how mistakes are handled. BV Electric was gracious and quick to get it fixed with maximum honesty and integrity. What a pleasure. I actually hope I have another elecrical problem soon!

I needed to replace a 240 volt dryer outlet to be up to code and compatible with our new dryer. Boris scheduled an appointment for 8:30 the morning after I first called. Raul showed up early, diagnosed the problem, bought the right parts at Home Depot, installed the new outlet and relocated it to a safer location. Very satisfied and will use them again.

I had a very good experience with BV Electric, which was recommended to me by the facilities manager at our condo complex. We needed a buzzing light fixture fixed and Miro came a couple of days after I called, on a Saturday, and assessed the problem as well as some other questions that I raised about how to improve on the original lighting design of the kitchen, which is surprisingly dim. He came out today to replace the fixture--problem solved--and has suggestions about what we might do in the future to improve one the kitchen's insufficient design. The cost of the repair was reasonable, and if we later decide to do some improvements in the kitchen, I'll definitely call BV. Miro and his helper were also very pleasant.

I would highly, highly recommend BV Electric. Miro is great. I had an issue with an outdoor light and I didn't know if it was a simple fix or if it was something significant. On the phone prior to coming over, Miro told me that if it wasn't a major fix, he'd do it for free. If there was an actual issue, then I would pay him the hourly rate. Well he came on a Saturday morning to check it out and it ended up being really simple. Took him about 10 minutes to check it out and the issue was resolved free of charge. Found BV Electric through yelp recommendations and you were right! BV is highly responsive and fair. I recently had a circuit blow out - they tried to help over the phone before coming over in order to save me the in-person charge. Once there, they acted fast and efficiently to fix the issue; and rather than billing me an hour of work for a 2 min fix, they used the time to install my new range hood. Fast, friendly, efficient and fair - call BV Electric!

BV Electric saved our house from a potential disaster! We were having power surges and had to call PG&E. They came out and told us that we had what they called a worst case scenario. The weather head had become useless and the wiring was burned. They told us we were lucky our house didn't go up in flames! I called my regular electrician but he was out of town - lucky for us, because he told me to give BV Electric a call. Miro came out right away, saw what the problem was and said they would get on it right away! He and his crew came out the very next morning bright and early and worked all day until they got the problem under control! By the afternoon our power was restored and everything felt a lot safer to us!! Miro is a very nice person and his crew is just as nice. We definitely have a new electrical company to call from now on!! If you are in need of any electrical work, they are reasonable and they want to accommodate you! Give them a call!!

Raul showed up on time, even a little early and immediately was able to figure out what needed to be done. I just wanted to remove the baseboard heaters and replace them with outlets. He made it easy to install a new furnace with the extra electrical circuit. The quote was right and the work excellent! These guys are great!

Excellent experience with BV Electric. Our recently purchased 1930 house needed a complete electrical overhaul--complete rewiring eliminating the old knob-and-tube, 200 amps pulled, new outlets and switches throughout, and new circuit panel w/ meter installed in the garage. This is very invasive, messy work. Boris' crew (headed by the incomparable Tony) performed the work efficiently, surgically, and as neatly as possible. Communication was effortless--if someone doesn't pick up your call immediately, it's returned within ten minutes. Pricing was reasonable, and the work was performed to the highest standard. In addition, the entire BV team is friendly, courteous, and professional. We'll certainly have them back for an additional work that arises.

I learned of BV electric through a referral and after my experience I feel it's appropriate to continue to relay the much deserved good-word. I worked with them on modest size project, and of all the disciplines involved, BV Electric was the most dependable, creative, diligent, and punctual. On several occasions we called them hoping to schedule an electrician on site ASAP, and within moments they called back to say that the same electrician we had previously worked with was on his way. Due to such a rushed appointment, they could have easily (and understandably) sent out an electrician who was not originally assigned to the project (after all it was not a large job). However, they instead worked to reorganize their schedule in an effort to have the electrician familiar with the project show up instead of another. This simple act was one of many that helped to make things easier to manage. They efforts are greatly appreciated, and I highly recommend them for any job.

Also, I have yet to hear them complain about anything - a trait I consider valuable, and rare.

I was referred to BV Electric by my local Cole Hardware friends after I failed to receive callbacks from any electricians I contacted. Boris called me back almost immediately after I left my message and told me when the electrician would be at my house. I was very pleasantly surprised when Raul arrived EARLY (this NEVER happens with repair contractors!!!) Raul was amazing. He confirmed the problem (the ballasts in all my fluorescent fixtures needed to be replaced), quoted me the rates and took off to get the necessary parts. I also asked about a possible rewiring of a light switch leading down to my basement and Raul came up with a quick, easy solution and did the repair on the spot. I couldn't be happier with the service I received from these folks. I would absolutely use them again for any electrical needs.

Tony and his crew came to update our old 2-prong outlets to 3-prong, repair a couple of light switches and install 2 fluorescent fixtures this past September. They were punctual, courteous and very professional. The quality of the work was excellent. He was very patient answering any questions we had. During a partial renovation of my house, we opened up the circuit breaker panels and several walls and discovered a number of unpermitted and illegal electrical upgrades from the previous homeowner. The electrical inspector was very unsatisfied with the state of the electrical wiring and called for a complete rewiring of the house. I surveyed a number of electricians and had the most confidence in Boris and his team. They spent several days upgrading the service to the house, rewiring the circuit breaker panels, upgrading several of the circuit breakers, upgraded all of the outlets, installed hardwired smoke alarms, and relocated the hottub circuit breaker panel. I enjoyed working with Boris's team and felt that they were hard working and honest people. They documented everything and were extremely responsive at all times. I can highly recommend BV Electric for even the most demanding jobs!
