We had a slow leak coming from somewhere upstairs which caused drywall damage in our kitchen dripping down through the wall. I was worried that
It would be major work and being a day before thanksgiving, quotes and work would be outrageous. Plumbers we called wanted $125 just for a quote! Based on yelp and nextdoor reviews we contacted Bob the Plumber on Black Friday and made an appointment that day. Within an hour, he located the problem, which was behind another wall he had to cut open, repaired the leak and even installed a new shower head we were going to install ourselves. He said it will take me 2 minutes and it was done. Him and his wife are real nice, and do honest work. The cost of repair was a relief due to the drywall ceiling damage the water caused. I am grateful that we caught it in time and that his prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend his services.

I only call Bob the Plumber whenever we have issues with plumbing and/or toilet and sink repairs. We have lived in two homes now in the past 12 years and Bob has been the only plumber that my family trusts. He never fails to maintain and apply his extensive professionalism, efficiency, expertise and responsiveness every single time we need him. He never overcharges for his labor and parts needed--he has been fair and honest on what he charges. I dread the day Bob will finally decide it's time to retire, but he has been keeping his business close to his family--over the years he has been showing the ropes and know-how to his wife and daughter as well. I can't say enough about how much I respect Bob and his business.

I needed to have a garbage disposal replaced.

I purchased two units since one had a longer warranty and more horsepower.

Friends of mine had recommended Bob. They used him a few times and really liked his work. They said he's honest if he can do the job or not.

Bob was on vacation when I called so I left a message. He called texted me on Sunday asking if I still needed a plumber. I asked for the quoted price and his availability. He said he could be there by 2pm on Monday.

Bob called to see if he could come earlier since he was able to so I agreed and had my tenant available to let him do the work. He finished before I arrived. He installed the 1/2 hp instead of the 3/4 hp. He explained that the 3/4 would have destroyed the sink since it wasn't that big or strong enough to handle the horsepower. (I loved that he explained the reasoning to which one was installed. I'll explain a previous experience in a moment.) Overall I'm happy about his work and will keep him on my books for future repairs.

(I had a different plumber (California Plumbing) the week before who said that the install of the new unit was missing a piece and that it would take him an hour to go to Home Depot to get it. Home Depot is less than a 10 min drive (less than 2 miles.) His price was going to double so I declined. Plus, he said I could install either unit when I learned from Bob that this would have destroyed the sink with the 3/4hp and it would probably cost me over $1k to fix it if I had this guy install it.)

Call Bob for your plumber needs. Honest guy who knows what he's doing.

WOW! That is all I have to say! I called Bob on a Thursday after 5pm thinking he might be able to help us the next day or over the weekend. No, he was over here 20 minutes later and solved our stuck garbage disposal issue in minutes. He is professional, friendly, responsive, and I will DEFINITELY tell all my friends about him. I love YELP for helping me find him in the first place and am happy to pay it forward by providing this great review for a truly impressive professional.

Over a decade ago, I called Bob off a craigslist post. As a property manager, I can't count the number of other (different trade) techs I've gone through owing to incompetence, over-charging, apathy, or any number of other documentable reasons. Not Bob.

He's solved problems with picky tenants. He's solved problems with slovenly tenants. Big problems. Small problems. Water heaters. Sink faucets. Stem valves. Pressure regulators. Leaks. Not actually leaks. Waste lines. Gaskets. Anglestops. Gunk. Muck. The shits. He's found corners to cut on rentals and elevated the marketability of sales. He's always had solutions. He's always stood behind his work. He hasn't flinched when I try to pinch pennies--embraced it even! Never had a problem. All of it: solved, by Bob. Just an invoice. No whining.

The only hesitation I have in leaving this review is that, once Bob realizes just how much value he adds compared to his competition, my clients might not get *quite* the deal they have been.

It's getting harder and harder to find someone willing to provide honest labor for an honest wage. That's all Bob's ever given. Thank you Bob.

Wow! When I called Bob the Plumber and explained I was having plumbing problems he told me he could be there in 20 min. And he was! It took him less than an hour to finish the job. His prices are amazingly low and affordable. I'm going to have him do some other plumbing jobs around the house that I was going to hold off on beacause I can afford it with Bob. I'll never call anyone else again.

Nobody wants to need a plumber. Stuff happens. I hoped Bob would live up to his reviews today when I needed a plumber.
He did. The man is an absolute PRO. He fixed my shower fixture and replaced my pressure valve in record time at at an affordable & fair price.

Bob the plumber is awesome!! After purchasing my new home I had some issues with the cold water in my showers because of some new fandagled fancy faucets I had. I told my Uncle Manny about my troubles and he refered me to Bob the Plumber!

I called Bob and after explaining what was going on with my showers over the phone he knew exactly what the problem was. Bob came out the next day and was in and out of my house in about 30 minutes and got the showers fixed!!

Bob is a really nice guy and his wife is his assistant. He was very reasonably priced and honest. He explained everything to me and didn't try to overcharge me for anything I didn't need.

I'll definatly be calling Bob the Plumber again (hopefully I don't have to, but if I need a plumber again he's getting my business!)

Bob came in to snake the tub however wasn't able to successfully drain it due to it being a bigger issue so he only charged $20 for travel and labor which was very reasonable. I also had a wall heated that I was scare was leaking, bob made it clear from the outset that heaters are not his speciality but he ended up curing the gas to the heated anyway. He came and did the job in less than 10 minutes. Great service

I've found Bob on Yelp a couple of years ago and now call him for any plumbing issues. Always on time and honest. He has worked at my house to fix toilets and replaced our water heater also. He has also come out to our family's house to do work. He is clear and to the point. He has even suggested a few DIY suggestions that would save us money.

I was hesitant on calling a plumber. I knew that my sink disposal was broken and I was thinking my entire kitchen faucet had to be replaced. I saw all of Bobs great reviews and thought hey why not give him a try. He showed up 1 hr after I called him and he fixed and replaced the disposal in less than 30 minutes. Licensed and insured: two words every HOA management company would like to hear before a plumber steps foot into one of their units.

Bob was quick and cheap! I'm basing this off of quote I received from Courtesy. They were going to charge me $850 plus the cost of the hardware for what Bob did for $251 including hardware. It would've taken Courtesy 4-6 hours, Bob 2 hours....

I recently bought a house in Chula Vista , CA.

I was in the middle of replacing a utility sink faucet unit and supply line, but felt a bit uneasy when I saw how corroded the old supply lines and valves were. I checked Yelp! for a major SD plumbing company, but saw it got only 3 stars on average, and lots of complaints among the comments.

I scanned other listings and found that Bob the Plumber had 45 reviews with an overall rating of 4.5, and many were 5 stars raves.

I called and Bob responded quickly, and set up an appointment for two hours later. He was prompt, courteous and got everything fixed and working within a half hour. He did a neat, quick and efficient job at a reasonable price.

I'd certainly call him again. My only regret is that, when I put the extension on my house, he does not do that type of work. I would have hired him in a flash for that job.

I had the unfortunate event of my water heater bursting on a Sunday morning. I had used Bob before so he was first on my list of plumbers to call. I called an left a message for him and withing 5 minutes I had a call back. He said he could be at my house within 2 hours. 1.5 hours later he showed up and had my water heater replaced within two hours. Bob saves the day!!!

I have used Bob on three different occasions and each time he provided quick outstanding work. I have also recommended Bob to others who have used him and they had nothing but great things to say.

Bottom line: If you need a plumber call Bob the Plumber.

I hired Bob's service after looking at Yelp's reviews and I really thought he would not only provide me the best service possible but also the price he'd charge me. I can pay however much it is for as long as they provide me the great service I deserve. Sorry but this Bob pissed me off. He charged me $85 after installing my brand new Moen motion-sensing faucet in half hour. That's not bad! As a matter of fact, when my mom was telling me he finished it that fast, I was pretty impressed (I was at work when he was doing what I paid him to do) and I was initially happy when he did it in less than an hour. Now here's the worse part: I came home and see it for myself how it went. Great! It's working. Now when I asked my mom why the soap dispenser wasn't installed, mom told me that Bob told her that we could do it ourselves and it would only take 5-10 minutes installing it. The reason being is that Bob didn't have the tools to take it out cuz he said its full of rust. I called him and he said the same thing to me. I'm really getting pissed at this guy because I told him that his service is to install the faucet and whatever comes in that box would be installed including that soap dispenser so I insisted that he has to come back and install it cuz I wouldn't have spent $85 if he would have told me right from the very start that he wouldn't install the soap dispenser. This Bob told me that he would come back the next day to install it but he would charge me half the price which is $42.50. Are you flipping serious??? So I told him very calmly that I would do it myself! Hung up the phone and I was about to make a review at Yelp when after 5 minutes, Bob called again and said he would not charge me and would come back the next day to install it. Pretty cool, he did. But why would you tell me you'd charge me extra $$$ when i called you? Tryna rip me off or something? Next issue: my old faucet was missing! Asked my mom where it went. She said she could not find it, so when I was talking to Bob over the phone I asked where he put it. His answer was he threw it away! I'm sorry mister but last time I checked if you don't own something, you'd ask the owner first for his or her permission. That's a blatant lie cuz we have our own garbage disposal at home, why would you have to take it and throw it yourself? You should have asked for permission bcuz that old faucet isn't that old and that was expensive, too! I needed that for my other house. Sorry but this guy's ethics is lacking. I would hire a different plumber next time. Beware!

Terribly disappointed after so many reviews. Bob and Wife the plumbers. Hmmm I have never seen a plumber show up with his wife, she just held the flashlight and gots tools for Bob.
I just needed a re-adjustment and fitting added to a garbage disposal, not installed correctly. Bob said, that won't cost you anything to be adjusted. Well after 20 min of readjustment, Bob and Wife charged $90 for a garbage disposal that was already installed! No, I do not recommend Bob and Wife. Bob is a terrible rip off!

My bathtub drain plugged completely after some clearing attempts with a plunger. Tried my hand crank snake and got nowhere. Checked Yelp and liked what I saw about Bob. I called late afternoon and got an appointment for 9 next morning. Bob quoted $85-100 based on my problem description. Bob arrived at agreed time, cleared the drain in short order and also took the time to answer my questions. The charge was $85 which is very reasonable considering the overhead (truck, supplies, tools, travel time) involved. Highly recommended.

After calling three other flakey plumbers, I called Bob to come out for a clogged kitchen sink. He was able to come out that day and was on time. He brought his assistant, Sylvia, with him. Bob the Plumber is great! Scheduling an appointment with him was easy. He answers his own phone, which is great. He and his wife arrived promptly at the time we agreed upon. Bob showed up a few minutes early to fix my clogged kitchen drain.
In 10 to 15 minutes he fixed the problem (a kinked sewer auger/snake) I took four to five hours to create. He then cleared the clogged drain, put in some new traps and connectors, tested the results, cleaned up, and gave us a tremendous preventative maintenance tip to keep the kitchen drain cleared.
Start to finish, about 30 minutes. The price was what he quoted me on the phone plus parts. Saved me hours of pain and frustration.
Bob will be my go to guy for basic plumbing issues.

I had a toilet that would run and waste water. I called Bob and made an appointment for Friday at 4. Due to unforeseen problems, I had to reschedule for Monday at the last minute with no problem being the response. Four o'clock on Monday the doorbell rings, right on time. Bob quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem and was on his way and I was no longer wasting water. This is the third service we have received from Bob who has always been punctual and professional. Bob has always hit a home run with us. We would recommend him to our friends and family.

Bob was great! Called him around 9am with a broken water heater. He quoted be way less than the other 4 places I called. He was here about 45 minutes later with a new water heater. Even with having to go get an additional part because the old one wouldn't come off of our old heater, he was done by 1pm when I had told him I had to leave for work. Bob's glowing reviews are well deserved. I called him at 6am expecting to leave a msg and he picked up the phone. We had a running leak in our bathtub faucet and he said he could arrive that same afternoon. I had an emergency at my DR's appt (8 mths pregnant) and had to reschedule. He kindly made himself available the next morning & fixed the problem w/ his daughter who assisted him during her spring break. I have used Bob a few times, all good experiences. Bob installed a whole house carbon filter and water softener that I bought. He also redid my kitchen under sink plumbing. He installed a reverse osmosis drinking water filter system that I bought. He redid my refrigerator water supply filter setup in the attic. He replaced a bathroom faucet. Fast response and done quickly, at a fair price.

We will definitely call Bob the Plumber for any future problems (crossing my fingers that there are no problems but just in case). We made the mistake of calling another plumber who had us wait 2 days for an appointment that they never showed up for and never even called us back. We called Bob just after 10am and he showed up that day a little over an hour later. He quickly found the problem with our toilet (a terrible tree root and a previous plumber didn't set the toilet properly so it wobbled and broke the seal) and fixed it in less then 30 mins. We were pleasantly surprised at how fast it was. The work also cost less then we thought so that was another plus. We should have checked Yelp first and seen all the great reviews, it would have saved us time and headaches.

do not hire this guy!!

I hired bob to add new valves for bath and shower. 450 dollars. he finished in less then 2 hours and was leaving when I drove up. my wife had already paid him. when he showed me the work and ran the water, the one new valve leaked and he had to adjust
it . He also did not install the shower pipe thru the wall because he said I did not ask for it to be installed, so I said I would do it.so he left and I installed the pipe ( 2minutes of time). when I went to install the new bath spout a few days later it would not fit the new pipe bob put in. I had to buy an adaptor spout to fit his pipe.Also The valves were set to far out and I had to refit them before I could install the hardware on them (faucet controls etc.) I would not recommend this guy ever!!!!!!

Had a leak develop at my home and called a local Chula Vista plumber to inspect. I was told by this plumber that I needed to replace my entire shower valve and do a considerable amount of modification to fix my leak. I then called Bob the Plumber for a second opinion. Bob promptly came out, assessed the problem and showed me exactly why I was having the leak issue. Bob was able to fix the issue and make things as good as new in less than 30 minutes and at about 1/5 of the cost that I was quoted by the other plumber. Super personable and comes to fix the issue at hand not to upsell you on unneeded parts. We can't thank you enough Bob!

A couple of days ago I had (what I thought was simply) a clogged kitchen sink. Based on reviews here I gave Bob a call and he gave me a very reasonable estimate over the phone and came the next morning right on time.

Turns out my situation is MUCH more complicated than a simple clogged drain---Bob cleared that and when I called to say I was having other problems---came back that very same afternoon---braved a very difficult access trying to locate my main drain access.

He advised me to hire someone who specializes in (main) drain clearing. He didn't charge me anything for the extra consultation and physical gyrations he had to do to get to the problem.

Without any hesitation I give Bob the Plumber the highest possible recommendation. He is very knowledgeable, capable and more than fair in his prices. I don't have enough good things to say about him. Wish I could give him 10 stars!!!

I get nervous when I need a plumber. Too many times the scale of the problem and the price of the work seem out of alignment! Not so with Bob.

He's super responsive, returned my call and was at my place within 2 hours.

He's straight up, simple and clear description of what's needed.

His prices are really fair. Plumbing is hard work and he deserves to get paid for it. You won't get ripped off, just an honest price for an honest job.

Give Bob your business, you won't regret it...unless you like overpaying. In that case, call one of the big chain plumbers.

Had a leak from the second floor shower showing through the ceiling on the first floor. Read about Bob on yelp, called him up and he said he would be here at 8 am...7:58 am he was outside my door. He came with his assistant/wife and together they fixed my problem within 45 minutes. He ran a bunch of tests to make sure the problem was fixed, he cleaned up after himself, and charged me an EXTREMELY FAIR price.
I read some of the bad reviews and I have to say, this man is honest. It's been two weeks since he has been here so I had to wait to make sure the job was done right and it was. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of plumbing work. Thanks Bob!

Hoping your Christmas was a joy and that the New Year brings you everything you ask. Now on to the review: I had an issue with a Delta bathroom faucet and a leaking hose bib (for years). I went on the Nextdoor Neighbor to get recommendations from neighbors and Bob the Plumber came up with very favorable reviews. Next, checking the Yelp reviews, all 5-stars! Could not agree more! Called in the morning and Bob said he would be here at 3 pm. An hour later Bob called and said he was in the area and would be here in five minutes; no problemo. Retired navy CPO with a really cool belt buckle and his charming wife/assistant. The job was not as easy as I thought, Bob had to become a human pretzel to get under the sink and adjust the cartridge from underneath and on the top to properly adjust the cartridge. Done! On to the next project: fix a leaky hose bib. This was easy peazy compared to the cartridge repair. Remove the old hose bib, and replace with a new part that will last until h*** freezes over! All work was clean and the price was reasonable. Could not be happier. Thanks for your service (Navy), Bob.

I had called another plumber the day before had an appointment window from 2-6 they arrived at 7:30 pm. Just echoing the other 5 star reviews yelpers have given Bob. He's been our plumber for 7 years, and our only concern is that if he retires, it's gonna be hard to find someone else. He's done faucet repair, toilet installation, water softener removal, pickup & installation, garbage disposals removal&installation, and drain clearing for us. The only plumbing emergency we've had since we've worked with him is when we were notified while we were out of town that we had a large pool of water in our backyard. He doesn't do irrigation systems, but he came over anyway and fixed it. Service above and beyond. He and his wife are a great team. And, as many people have said, he's responsive and his service is fairly priced. Can't ask for anything more.

Bob the Plumber to the rescue!

I had a clogged toilet last November and spent a lot of money trying to fix it myself. Bought an auger, a special plunger, chemicals....nothing worked. Finally called Bob. He had somewhere to go that day but he fit me in early in the morning. He and his wife came in, fixed the problem within minutes, and even cleaned my toilet. I wish I had just called them in the first place and saved myself the time and money. He charged 85 bucks, which is super worth it for me.

I had a recent issue again and called Bob right away. Unfortunately, this time the problem was bigger than he could fix. So he only charged $20 for coming in....which we again found more than reasonable. He told us exactly what was wrong and what kind of service to look for.

I'm so glad there are people like Bob and his wife because I sure as hell don't know much about toilets and plumbing.

I just called Bob the Plumber and got off the phone with him. I had just had a washer delivered from Home Depot and the guy said he couldn't install it because I needed to have my valves replaced, by a Plumber, because the hot water was corroded. So he said if that's what it looks like on the outside, then the inside is the same.
So that's where Bob comes in. He pretty much predicted what the delivery guys said and said that he gets a lot of business cuz Home Depot, Lowes and Sears have one excuse or another not to install it. I guess that's good for him. Bob said if he replaces the valves he has to cut open the wall and replace the plumbing just because the pipes are probably plastic. I have no idea what they are. So he first suggested i try to get the hoses off myself without replacing the valves. he suggested a product so I'm going to go give it a shot. He said if that didn't work or if I had problems to call him back.

He was very nice and helpful and I do prefer trying something else before having to make a hole in the wall.

Lets keep our fingers crossed. I suggest you call Bob for your needs cuz he seems helpful and nice and all the reviews had nice things to say!!!!

Our first foray into the Yelp-world proved successful! We needed a plumber to check out a leak under our kitchen sink and found Bob's listing right away. I called Bob on Thursday for a clogged kitchen sink. Explained we had snaked it both down the sewer line & sink line & used water pressure but to no avail. Bob had no availability for same day service but gave me a next day timeframe between 2-4pm. Bob was here by 2:15 and had my sink in working condition by 3pm. This is the second time we have used Bob the Plumber and wanted to give him a Excellent review. We are moving and in escrow and needed some work done quickly before we move out. I called him in the morning and he was here by mid-morning and did the work quickly and efficiently. He also gave us an estimate for some more work that needed to be done, came back the following day and did it in less than an hour. I called Bob last minute to come over because I was having both of my bathrooms tiled over, and there were valve leaks in both toilets. Bob came over and checked out the toilets and found that my pressure regulator wasn't working, which is why the valves had both failed. He swapped out both valves, replaced the cheap nylon hoses with braided metal ones, removed my old reverse osmosis system that was leaking, swapped out my pressure regulator, and replaced my cheap water main turnoff with a heavy duty one in the process. All of this cost way less than I would have thought, and he was full of information on everything I asked him along the way. I'll definitely call Bob again for all of my plumbing needs.

Very expensive, poor customer service skills. I would not use him again or recommend to anyone. First time I used Bob to fix a pressure regulator, it took him 20 minutes to replace the part (cost $150 for materials according to Bob). He charged me $400 cash (would have been more if I paid by check). So $250 for 20 minutes of labor. Ok, so shame on me for being too lazy to call a different plumber the second time. I called Bob to fix a very slow drip on my bathroom faucet. Told me over the phone it would be $125 total to replace both cold and hot water faucets if necessary. Arrived and told me it's just the cold water faucet, so presumably it should be half of what he quoted. Took the faucet apart, took the faucet with him and told me he can tell me exact amount once he is at the store (nearby) to get the new part. Calls from the store and tells me it will cost me $145 total to replace it. I told him I had an identical problem in my apartment a few years ago and a different plumber (who now lives too far away from me) charged me $55 total for parts & labor. Bob's ultimatum to me was pay him $145 to do the work, or pay him $85 for returning to my house to put back my original part. So much for free estimate and good faith. Took him less than 5 minutes to replace the part. His cost for labor alone was $100 (for 5 minutes!!). Too greedy, not pleasant to deal with and way over-priced. There are much better choices in the area. Don't be lazy like me, call more than 1 plumber and get a free estimate.

Without a doubt, Bob the Plumber is definitely our new plumber!!! He answers and returns calls very promptly. No charge for estimates and is quick to get out to review the issue. Bob was the third plumber I called to get an estimate on what I was told was going to be a very large job. Our regular plumber told us that the repair in question could not be done the normal way due to rust and corrosion. What originally was going to cost around $150.00 to fix, was now being quoted over a $1,000.00 and that was not even going to cover any drywall repairs.

Second plumber I called I think just assumed what the first plumber said was correct . He took a different approach on how to make the repair but his estimate was still over $700.00.

Then I called Bob to get his opinion. Chose him due to his great reviews on Yelp. He came out, took a look and said he thought he could do the repair the old fashion way. We went with Bob, HE FIXED IT in no time, he cleaned up his mess and he was able to trace the plumbing issues we have been having back to something that was never even addressed by our other plumbers. If it had been, it would have saved us a lot of time and money over the past couple of years.

This repair only cost us $160.00. So much better than the $700.00 and $1,000.00 estimates. Yay for Bob and for his knowledge and professionalism!!!

When it came time to sell my house, I had a few issues that needed attention. I found Bob on yelp and he had good reviews so I decided to contact him. He emailed me back the same day and I told him the issues I was having. He gave me a quote over the phone and scheduled an appointment for a few days later. Bob was very accommodating to my work schedule. On the day of the appointment, Bob showed up on time and got right to work. He quickly discovered my issue and it was much simpler than expected. I had a repair man come out prior to Bob who completely missed the small problem. Bob fixed the problem really quickly and while he was there, noticed a few other small issues that I overlooked. He offered to take care of them for me and I agreed. After he was done, he had only been at my house for maybe an hr and gotten so much accomplished! And his price was very low, right on track with the quote despite the extras he performed. Bob was very nice and polite and if I ever need a plumber again, I will definitely call him.

I have to say, our faith has been renewed, in honest people. Bob and his sweet wife got here within a couple hours of our calling. A burst pipe under our house and all we saw was dollar signs. He charged less then half of what we were expecting it to be and was mud from head to toe, after he was done, crawling under our Mobile Home. Before coming in with our bill, he noticed the kick plate on our screen door was loose. Out came his electric screw driver and zip, he put screws in and fixed it. The handle of our shower broke, so water wont stop flowing. I called bob in the morning and he came in really quick. Once again Bob has done an outstanding job! My pop-up bathroom sink drain had rusted out. Even though I have a pedestal sink, it took Bob and his assistant less than an hour to get it fixed. The first instance was when we had problems with our disposal leaking and it turns out the flip company that did our home cut corners and improperly installed the pipes underneath the sink. The second time was an issue with our bathroom; the valve under the sink split causing water to spray everywhere almost flooding our bathroom. Bob was at our place within 20 minutes. Not only did he fix the issue but kept the water damage to a minimum and installed a new valve that was much higher quality than what the flippers used to install the sink. Hands down a true pro and always has the customers interest in mind. My wife and I are continuously grateful and refuse to use anyone else.

On 6/22/12, I had an electrical outlet installed in my laundry closet in my condo and the electrician accidently severed a water pipe in the wall. My boyfriend and I had just moved into a new condo and a week in we were already having plumbing issues and having to run across the street to the grocery store to use their restroom. After seeing all the great reviews, I called Bob and he said he would be at the place at 8am the next morning. Sure enough 8:01 the doorbell rang (which is even more impressive because we live in a gated community so I was sure I was going to have to open the gate for him). Fixed the bathroom clog in under 10 minutes, and believe me I was counting as I wanted to go back to sleep. After I had a quick panic since I only had my credit card and no cash, he eased my worries by pulling out a portable credit card machine. Sunday noon, because of OT it's my only day off and I already had special honey do's going when low & behold, the washbasin is backed-up & water coming up in the tub as well. I could've rented a snake @ Home Depot and did it myself but it's my only day off & too much to do. Went on-line to find a plumber all of which wanted to charge me an emergency service fee because it was Sunday.
Then I happened upon Yelp and found Bob the plumber, called him and he said he could be by in 20 minutes, charge would be $75 bucks. By 1:30p our drains were clean, washing continued and our Sunday projects were not put on hold. What a life-safer, thank you Bob, Yelp and all the reviews that made my Sunday less stressful. I will use Bob for all my plumbing needs and will recommend his services.

Short and sweet review here. Just to let everyone know I called Bob based on the reviews here on Yelp.

He showed up here quickly even though there were two jobs ahead of me. He fixed my problem quickly and gave me a lot of useful information as well. Gave me a great price for the visit too!

Although I have not had a lot of extensive work done by him yet, I am definitely 100% positive I will be calling him again to do some work in my bathroom and some maintenance work that needs to be done. Bob was very friendly and polite too.

Called Bob who was very nice on the phone, after buying my gas dryer for my home. He called me the morning of the appt and let me know he wanted to know if he could come by earlier then scheduled! Of course I said yes and about 10 minutes later Bob was there. I let him know what the issue was and he told me exactly what I needed and how much it would be. 30 minutes later, after hooking up my dryer, replacing some parts for the valves for my dryer and checking out my fridge he was done.

Bob is nice but straight to the point, hi how you doing, whats the issue, fix it, pay and leave kinda guy. No BS here or warm and fuzzy stuff, which is EXACTLY what I want when something goes wrong in my house.

Yesterday I had water coming up out of my 1 year old water heater in the garage. Did a quick search on YELP found Bob, read the reviews and called him up. He was busy but made time to meet me at the house a few hours later. He got in touch with the company that made my water heater, got them to exchange it under warranty and brought the new one in less than an hour. He also fixed my pressure regulator as my PSI was off the chart. He and his wife are very nice people who made time to fix my problem and the price was way lower than I expected. I have to say that Bob the Plumber was great! He and his assistant were very professional and personable. He replaced my kitchen faucet, which is not standard, quickly and efficiently! His prices were VERY affordable! Not only did he show up on time, but he called to see if he could come a little early. They cleaned up their mess and there was no sign of them after. He gave us some recommendations about covering some sink holes, the plate that came with the new faucet wouldn't fit due to the lip of the sink being raised. And told me what was wrong with my garbage disposal, two previous plumbers couldn't identify the leak or what was causing it! I would definitely recommend them for your plumbing needs!

First and foremost, Bob the Plumber is what has become increasingly rare in the modern plumbing/electrical/carpentry world: an upfront and honest craftsman.
I wanted to install a stainless-steel utility sink in my garage, but I didn't have a drain or dedicated water source. I did have a small laundry room on the other side of the wall from the spot I'd place the sink (however, the floor in the laundry was a foot higher than the garage floor). Bob came out and assessed the situation. He patiently described the extensive work that would have to be done, especially the problems in installing a drain pipe for the sink. In layman's terms, he explained what made my particular job difficult and the extensive modifications that would be required.
I asked, is it worth doing? Bob gave a cost-to-benefit analysis and told me it was not practical. There you go, an honest and straightforward answer.
So while I'm not getting the utility sink I wanted, I did find my new plumber.

Wow! I can't believe what great service I just got!

I noticed yesterday that my toilet wasnt flushing quite right. It would flush, but it would go eeriely silent right after and would eventually fill back up with water to be usable again...but this was a very unsettling prospect. I knew I had to call a plumber.

So, this morning, I look on Yelp and found glowing reviews for Bob the Plumber! I call him up about a quarter past 8, and he tells me he can be there around noon, giving me an estimate of $105. He guesses that calcium build-up is the problem here. I then get a call back from him at 9 saying he can be here in 20 minutes! Wow! When he arrives, (right on time), he diagnosed the problem and had it fixed in under half an hour! And it only cost $85! I will definitely be using his services again and i highly recommend him to anyone else looking for a plumber!

I needed a new shut off valve under my kitchen sink. I am a DIYer and just couldn't get it off. I finally called Bob after reading reviews. The plumbing was so tight and the hole cut into the cabinet so small that the only possible fix was to repair the old valve. Bob was able to remake the entire valve. Great work! I have another frozen valve and Bob isn't available for 2 days. I'll wait till he gets back to have the work done!

I spent years getting overcharged by operations like Bill Howe Plumbing. One day I had Bill Howe out and they estimated a job for $275. I thought it sounded fishy and I found Bob the Plumber. He told me the work estimated was not necessary and fixed it for $65.00. I own 3 buildings and I won't ever call anyone else. The one time I had to call someone else when Bob was out of town, the company charged me double what Bob would have for a hot water heater.

I had a couple of plumbing projects I'd been putting off (the water shut off to the house was no longer working and a hose bib needed replacing but I couldn't get it off). I'm not a procrastinator by nature but the last time I had a plumber out I had a major disagreement with the company. In the end they refunded part of the overcharge but it left a bad taste in my mouth and a wariness of plumbers and the potential for price gouging.

After reading a recommendation for Bob the Plumber on the NextDoor app I decided to stop procrastinating and give him a try. Lucky for me he had some time between appointments and was able to come out right away, along with his helper wife. He gave me a totally reasonable quote for the jobs and quickly set to work. Before I knew it he was done. His work ethic and honest pay for his skill and time have restored my faith in plumbers. Well, this plumber, anyway. I hope he stays on the job for a long time since it's always good to be able to count on someone you trust.

Been using Bob for almost 3 years now. Always reasonable with pricing. However, I am so disappointed with him. He came out to my house because we were selling and had a few requests for repairs. He fixed our gas line in 5 minutes. Literally. And then we supposidly had a corroded water shut off valve, per the inspection report, but since it was behind a cabinet, Bob didn't want to wait for me to move the cabinet, and asked for me to move the furniture in front of it and he would return later. Of course it took me 5 minutes to remove the furniture. When he returned, he looked at the shut off valve and noted that nothing was wrong with it after all. He ended up charging me $120, and all he did was spend 5 minutes changing a simple gas line. When I asked him why so much, he explained that he had to come to my house twice. I said that was his choice, because he didn't want to wait a few minutes to move the furniture. He didn't care. He didn't care how much work i had him do over the years. He actually said don't bother calling him again. I was dumbfounded. Talk about bad business. We were moving into a new house, still in Chula Vista, bigger then then one we were moving from, and he just lost a customer that he probably would have had for life, only because he tried to nickel and dime us. SMH!!! I already had over $1000 worth of plumbing work done at the new house. Sorry Bob! You better start to treat your regular customers with a little more respect next time.

I had a leaking pressure regulator valve in my home, located in the garage. It failed such that pressure was very high throughout the house. The water heater was leaking too through its pressure relief valve due to the high pressure. Bob came by in about 30 minutes on a Saturday even though he was on his way to a family function. He had the exact part I needed and fixed everything in 15 minutes. I was amazed. I'd recommend him to friends and family.

Bob called before he showed up, he said he'll be early which was even better.

Very reasonable price for the work he did, to snake a kitchen drain with a line out access, it wasn't clogged it was just slow.

Took him a few minutes to do, might have taken him more time to do aftercare to clean up his workspace
before they left.

I posted for quotes on yelp to maybe 100 plumbers, half responded in 10 minutes, out of that maybe 20 gave an actual price for the job and bob the plumber was the most reasonable. And no unwanted advise to hydro jet, or send a consultant, or minimum hourly rates.

Other plumbers if you are reading this, if someone on yelp ask for a specific very simple job just tell them your best price offer, because the message was probably sent to 100 other plumbers.

Wow. I don't remember the last time a called a plumber and didn't bang my head on the door after closing it. Bob is awesome.

Backstory: I first got a reference from my sister for her plumber. When he heard that I lived in a high rise downtown he was relatively snarky about it. As he was hemming and hawing about what a pain in his butt it is to park in my neighborhood (YAWN! yes, that was his reason for passing up the job), I remembered he had also passed on a previous job because he didn't like the make of my refrigerator. I'll make sure to consider him the next time I'm appliance shopping.

So I Yelp'd a new plumber and thought the reviews of Bob sounded great. He returned my call- on a HOLIDAY evening, no less. And he made himself immediately available the next morning.

My sink, which had ruined my weekend, was fixed a mere $75 later. He also fixed the hot water on my kitchen sink, which I hadn't noticed was a problem. For $75 total. That's right, folks, DOUBLE DIGITS.

As I handed him the check I knew I'd go running to my computer to spread the word, and here I am. I know, I can't believe I'm so excited either.

Friendly, fast, responsive, economical. This guy is awesome.

I sent a request to four or five plumbers over the weekend due to a leaking shower cartridge. I wanted to get it fixed, but didn't want to pay a huge premium for weekend work. A previous local plumber I've used (and like) wanted a major premium to come out on a weekend.

Bob was quick to respond and came out within an hour. He quoted a reasonable rate and stuck to it. He didn't complain when the screw to remove the handle was stripped and just handled it, only adding $10 to the bill to cover the replacement handle. He cleaned up after himself and was on his way quickly. I'd definitely use Bob again.

I just have to say Bob the Plumber is amazing! I had a plumber come out that was recommended by my Condo Home Owners Association to see if the issue was my responsibility or there's due to water damage in my closet coming from my upstairs bathroom. Long story short, the plumber wanted a small fortune to just figure out the problem and give me a quote. I realized this was something I would have to cover.
At this point I just wanted the guy to leave.
I then called Bob, he had done some work for me before when I first moved into my condo. He came out on a Saturday, and fixed the problem within an hour. It was the seal from the toilet leaking. You can trust and feel confident with his top notch plumbing skills. I would recommend him to all my family and friends!

I have used Bob a couple times in the last few years. He changed our water pressure regulator and helped with a couple other plumbing issues at the time. He returned just today to check on an issue. I thought it was going to be my water pressure again. He checked the pressure, made a couple adjustments, and then said that everything is fine for now. Who does that? And to top it off, he didn't even charge me this visit. I don't know if that's his protocol or if that is something you can expect him to do, but that is pretty much unheard of for me. I kind of feel bad just letting him go without paying him. I am paying him back the favor by writing this review, referring when friends are in need of a plumber and being a return customer when we do have issues. Thanks, Bob!

BOB!!! The great reviews on YELP are real! This man has been a blessing to me & my plumbing issues! Being a home owner one of the main things you need is a good honest plumber & I lucked out & got one, good OL Bob! First I like to say I called 7 plumbers & 3 of them were name Bob, so if you have a little boy & his name is Bob he just might be a plumber one day & if he is hopefully he's as good as this Bob. Any who out of those 7 plumbers only 3 called back one recommended me to another one because he was off that day, the other guy never answered his phone or called back I guess he was off too. 3 of them who I did talk too charged me more on weekends & charged me more then Bob charged me & Bob charged the same on weekdays or weekends! I also communicated with Bob on Yelp & phone, very pleasant & professional.

I called because my washer machine was backing up with water he told me it might be because of my garbage disposal because their connected so I took care of that myself (I'm a bit handy) & I asked if he can come snake my washer & check my water heater & toilet that both had slow leaks.So he came right on time & he fixed my washer in less then an hour & told me what I already knew I needed a new water heater, I knew that would cost money no way around it but his price was better then the other plumbers.So I made an appointment for it, his really nice wife came with him & she was very kind & very helpful to him. I saw someone complain about her being with him, bro her being there helps him work faster so that saves you money so stop complaining! He did my water heater for the price he told me, he brought the heater installed it & took the old one out of my house then fixed & adjusted my toilet & didn't charge me just charged me for the water heater job! At the end they cleaned up after themselves at a timely fashion I thanked them & they went on their way. Fast, clean & efficient!

I found Bob through internet searches and found him here on Yelp, which I had never used before. His perfect five star rating with over 20 reviews was enough for me. I contacted him and was not disappointed. He replaced a kitchen faucet and garbage disposal, wired a drain pipe that was being held up by wood blocks, and even had to go into the wall to do some copper soldering due to very old, corroded shut off valves. Everything came to just over $300, and that is including a kitchen faucet that he had on his truck that I liked better than the one I had bought. He is personable and freely answers questions. I will without a doubt call him for any plumbing needs in the future.

Have you found it difficult to find honest, competent, and reliable people who provide trade services (i.e., plumbers, electricians)? yelp! is changing that, as I confirmed yesterday. Bob the Plumber installed a dishwasher in our home. His estimate was reasonable and matched the bill. He showed respect for the customer's time by calling before coming over for our appointment, and offered to arrive early. The work was done carefully and skillfully. He made no mess nor left one. Bob was incredibly quick and honest. I called at 4:00pm on a Monday and he was here the very next day exactly when he said he'd be here. He's very honest because he didn't charge me a penny. He looked under my sink and told me that I needed a new faucet. I said I'll run to Costco and get a new one. Bob said he loves it when people ask him to install a Costco faucet because he knows they'll be calling him back shortly to install one that doesn't leak. He said I could go buy one and do it myself or give him a call and he'd come back the next day. It turns out that he was right. Buying a good faucet made it so much easier to install. Most other plumbers would have charged for coming out and wouldn't have given free advice BEFORE they started working.

Large amount of water was dripping from a shower in our rental condo which has 2 little children. My husband tried to fix it; but ended up shutting the water off completely for the night. Okay, my husband found Bob on Yelp and he saw all the reviews. So, He set up an appt for Bob the Plummer to come and fix some items (possible gas leak (yes), change out cartridge for our sink, shower might be leaking) in our home. He called and stated he was at my home. I was not. He was actually early, which was unexpected for me. as I usually wait for people. Anyways, Bob and his wife came in and I explained what needed to be done. Also, asked to check on the valve of the toilet. He went straight to work. Bob was done in an hour. Why call him?

1. Because he is reasonable. - Not because his labor/hr is cheap because he fix everything so fast so even though his labor is not cheap, the total cost charged to you will be half of the other guys. Yes he is that good.

2. He always answers your calls. - I have called him maybe 10 times. Always answered. You know how important it is.

3. Puntual - Never late. He values your time. I sent him to my house for my tenant and he never turned me down.

Bob (and his wife) are trustworthy, efficient, professional and dependable. Bob has done many smaller jobs for us over the years (ex. fix leaks, unclog toilets), and recently I decided to replace all three toilets in the house. I got 5 other estimates for the job through Yelp, then remembered that I hadn't called Bob to get a quote from him. His quote was best; he and his wife and came quickly to do the job; and they knocked it out the whole job in less than 2 hours (and hauled away the old toilets). I also needed a water spigot in the garage replaced and he came back to do that the next day. I am ALWAYS calling Bob the Plumber first for any future plumbing jobs in my house.

We have a broken water pipe and the insurance company is sending a plumber out tomorrow rather than today. This is the 2nd day without water in our house. Called Bob the Plumber and because we are in Spring Valley, he couldn't do it and I because he is in Chula Vista and then his response Good luck with my problem. Then came Bob, took my call, he said he had a couple jobs but can swing by after and to text him my details. I think the common denominator is most of the reviews here are from people who yelped this guy before-hand...hence the great service vs yelp results. first, i found bob to be non-friendly upon entering my girlfriends home; as i was there to give him the check since she was un-able to be there when he came. after he finished, he said he replaced the main floor seal of the toilet and there was a clog in the mail line. (the toilet had been backing up and leaking through the floor as well) he was there about 30-40 mins and charged $105.00 after quoting my GF 85.00. but he said he quoted her an 85.00 minimal. a couple of days later, the toilet backed up again and he said it would be another 145.00 to come back and snake it 100 feet. shouldn't he have done that in the first place? i called another plumber i know, but was not available. he told me that if bob was going to remove the toilet to change out a seal, he should have went ahead and snaked it at that time.... in order to really do the job right. anyway, we got another plumber through my friend, who did the work for 120.00. also, he made note that the seal bob replaced was of low quality and put in another higher quality seal. so besides the fact this guy not having the friendliest personality, he doesn't stand by his work either. i was going to call him and ask him to justify his work but why bother?

Called Bob based on his yelp reviews and he lived it up to them.

I had a couple of leaky values that I had been putting off, but I knew they needed repaired. First call was quick, scheduled me for the next day. Showed up on time handled the issue very quickly, too quick, I just need to tighten a nut...embarrassing. Anyway, other value ended up being replaced and changed some piping, looks much better and more importantly, no leaks.

Overall Bob was timely, straight to the point and price was reasonable. I would recommend his service.

I had a flood in my apartment and Bob was the first one to come up in my search engine. After all his great reviews I called him up. I tell him I'm having problems with my plumbing backing up and I need an estimate for how much to come take a look at it. I again tell him my plumbing is backing up and he says he can't help me because he's off for the day and refers me to a couple of corporations. Why even answer the phone if you're not going to work?! Due to this ridiculous customer service, I won't be calling him for future business.

I learned a plumbing lesson a few years ago. Different plummers have different expertise and equipment. I was looking for a new plumber to clear a main drain on the house, and found Bob via Yelp. I called and he answered the phone right away, and after listening to my problem told me that he would like to call me back in about 10 minutes when his was finished with his current job. About 10 minutes later he called back and asked a few more questions. He then told me that I needed to call a drain cleaning company (That work with 3 pipes).
Thank you Bob for your honesty and for your advice. You saved me a great deal of wasted time and money. I used Yelps' Request a Quote system and within a few minutes was able to find a plumber who could handle the problem. Everything was fixed a 'flowing' again within a few hours. Thanks Bob.

I had a shower drain that was not draining. I tried the vinegar and baking soda solution and that did not work to unclog it. I then broke out my snake and ran it but after 10 feet or so it would not go any farther so after about 5 times (with the same results) I decided to call a plumber.

I checked on yelp and seen another plumbing company with good ratings so I decided to give them a call. When they answered the person on the other end said hello but did not state who they were so I had to ask in order to ensure that I was in touch with the right company. I then explained my situation and what steps I had done in order to try and unclog the drain. The person informed me that it would not accomplish anything if they were to come to my home since I had ran my snake 5 times and it kept getting hung up on something. I explained to the person that I have a small snake that can be attached to a drill. They still insisted that I should go to home depot and buy some hair and grease drain cleaner pour it in my drain let it set over night and if I had the same problem to call them again and they would know further on what actions to take. Now I am no rocket scientist by any sense of the imagination but I do know that if you put drain cleaner in your drain over night it can cause nothing but more harm to your pipes. I informed the person on the phone of this but he insisted that it would be perfectly harmless. That is when I decided to search for another plumber.

I found Bob the Plumber who had mostly good reviews and decided to give him a call. He answered the phone stating who he was, and I explained to him the steps I had taken to clear the drain. Bob informed me that he could be at my home in a couple of hours and asked for all of my contact information. I asked him what the estimate would be and he informed me that it would be $85.00 if he was able to complete the work in an hour or less. I asked him if he too debit/credit cards and he said only if the job would cost over $100.00 which sounded pretty good to me. In about an hour I received a call from Bob and he informed me that he would be there in about 15 minutes. Sure enough in about 15 minutes the door bell rang and it was Bob and his wife. He asked me to show him where the shower was and he turned on the water and looked down there with a flashlight. Well, after about 3 minutes it was still draining good so I am thinking to myself here I am looking like a fool because the shower drain isn't backing up and I am going to end up paying him a fee for just showing up to the house. Well, after a couple of more minutes with the drain working properly he said that I must of been able to clear the drain with the snake. I asked him how come the snake was hanging up in the drain and he said that sometimes that happens. I asked him what I owed him for showing up and said that he did not do anything to get paid for and was glad to come anyways.

So even though I did not need his services I will be sure to call him if/when I am in need of a plumber again. Most plumbers will charge you a minimum of $50.00 just for showing up to your house and at least $100.00 - $150.00 range for just a drain cleaning. The only reason I do not give him 5 stars is because he did not have to do any work so I could not rate him on his workmanship.

Called two of the most highly rated Yelp plumbers -- sent them same picture of the regulator to be replaced -- Bob knew exactly which one it was and quoted me with labor cost -- he was 50% of the other quote -- both with the exact new replacement part -- he was here in 30 minutes and finished in another 40 minutes with testing and adjusting the pressure. Anytime I get a quote 50% of another I am suspicious of add-ons but he was right on the money! Nice guy also.

After being completely disrespected and haggled by another plumbing company, Bob came to our rescue! Our water heater broke on a Saturday evening and he was out to our house in less than 45 mins. Ok, I've hired Bob about 4 times now and I've finally gotten around to a deserving review for him. If you want very responsive & professional plumbing service for a fair price, then this is the guy to call. I've always been able to reach him immediately and schedule within 24-48 hrs for a non-emergency plumbing issue. Fast, efficient, no-nonsense, straightforward work. He's my one and only plumber.

Fast efficient and honest. When you call Bob you can count on those three things. He does exactly what you ask and doesn't try and squeeze extra money out of you. I highly recommend him. If you are not satisfied he will come back out and make it right.

He was kind enough to come up to Mission Valley on a Sunday to take care of a non-emergent plumbing issue for me. He was on time, very friendly, knowledgeable and affordable. And, when you call.. he picks up.. no answering messages or online forms... just plain good business.

Bob the Plumber was great. Called him at 710 am and he arrived by about 830 am. By 1030 am he was done installing my new hot water heater. The price was right and the service was fast. We had an emergency last Saturday august the 6th. and had to shut off the water , we were in a panic , but I called Bob and he came within the hour like he promised , fixed the problem , reasonable rates , he does his own work , we were so satisfied and will use him from now on . We realized our water heater had stopped working in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. Found Bob on Yelp and called him. He was out here in a couple of hours and fixed the problem in 15 minutes! A previous repair man I had called on Craig's list had told me we would need a new water heater. Bob replaced the bad part and the charge was only $125! Knowledgeable, professional, expedient, and honest. What more could you want? HIGHLY recommend! So good to know that honest repair professionals are still to be found.

I called Bob yesterday to fix a clogged toilet. He said he could not do it yesterday, but will be here today at noon. Sure enough, noon time came and he was here. He addressed the issue quickly for a very good price.

I am a return customer. The first time I used his service several years back, I was extremely impressed with his service - on time, great person to deal with, reasonable price, quality work, straightforward. These are qualities that are hard to find nowadays. I am so delighted that he has not changed. I told him way back then that I found my personal plumber; that is, Bob the Plumber.

You can never go wrong by using his service! On another note, he is a Veteran too.
