Alternative Plumbing Services

I've used Alternative Plumbing before because the owner, Gene Smith, is not only competent but will not try to oversell you. If you ask for information, he will educate you on your request if you want it and will suggest what he sees as the best solution which isn't the most expensive. He respects your property and cleans up after himself.

I recently had Gene install a Grunfos comfort system in our home. This system works by providing hot water to the furthest hot water faucet reducing the need to run the water till it gets hot thereby saving water. He can better explain the system but it works great. It only took about 2.5 hrs to install and it's great to turn the hot water faucet on in our bathroom and within 10-15 sec get hot water instead of waiting 30-60 sec for the water to start warming up.

Our water heater started leaking and was 14 years old so I knew it needed to be replaced. I called Gene's answering machine on a Thursday and actually got him directly, told him the problem and said I thought it needed to be replace SOON. He said he was loaded with jobs but he got to it immediately after the weekend, which was earlier than I was expecting. Showed up with his helper and got the tank replaced in a couple of hours. Did a highly professional job. But the recirculating pump started making noises that night, so I called him back, shut off the pump, and he showed up the next morning, diagnosed the problem and fixed it in 30 minutes. Great service!

Gene was great......responded right away and changed a leaky water tank in no time at all.  I was during the hurricane florence so I did not expect help right away.  I will now only call Alternative Plumbing

Gene has always responded quickly to our calls for service.  He communicates with us and keeps us appraised of his arrival time and always is punctual. Has fixed many things in our house and all repairs have been very satisfactory. His charges are certainly fair for the excellent service he provides. Strongly recommend Gene for any plumbing needs you might have.

Our toilet was forming a puddle after each night when a large group came over. I called Gene Smith and he and Michael came and found out it was user error, not a plumbing issue. I'm glad they didn't try to charge me for some mystery repair, but told me the truth! Great folks.
