I'm having a washer and dryer delivered/installed today. Or rather, had it delivered but couldn't have it installed because I need the floor pan, which hooks up to the drain, replaced. Sears suggested I call a plumber, so I called Bill Bragg -- the reviews are so great!
Whoever picked up the phone just said, Hello?
Uh, hi, I said, I think I need a plumber.
Okay, he said. Long pause. Am I missing the memo about secret plumber telephone code?
So I explained the situation and without taking the time to ask me what my timeframe was or letting me know when he was available he simply said, Nope, we don't have time for that. Thanks, dear, and hung up.
Dear? Well, Muffin, next time you don't have time, please don't waste mine answering my call. It just felt all around not-professional is all I'm sayin'. It sounds like his work is great, I just won't even bother trying him in the future.
[Edit: I just called 24/7 Rooter and the guy who answered the phone was friendly, told me someone could be here in half an hour to give me a free estimate, and told me that yes, they do accept credit cards. Whoo!]
