Needed a fix for a clogged kitchen sync. Was quoted $325 which was on the higher end of the market but they could do same day so I went with it.

Crew came on-site as scheduled, did a review, and confirmed the $325 quote. Team got to work, unclogged with snake, but this is where the problems began.

Crew couldnt put pipes back together and water kept leaking from drain. Spent 1 hr trying to fix our pipes and ultimately was told we had to replace our kitchen disposer because it was too old. To add this service, was an extra $425...a kitchen disposer typically runs $100-150 for the one they provided, but to charge $200+ for install just seemed ridiculous, and we didnt have a choice.

Lastly, tried to use 10% discount code on yelp, but crew spoke no english, only spanish. As such, wasn't able to use the code.

Quite disappointed overall. Able to fix our plug in the end after 3 hrs but overcharged quite a bit...total $750 just to fix a drain plug...

Leo and Juan are great, they fixed a leak in my ceiling from a shower drain, and I would hire them for any plumbing problems that arise in the future.

Leo arrived on time in the afternoon to give a quote, and once I agreed, he called his coworker Juan and it was fixed in the same afternoon. Leo explained to me the issue and they seemed thorough -- after fixing the obvious source of the leak (the pipe had a hole in it), they checked for other possible leaks.

The entire experience was great and I felt the price was reasonable.

Used their service in past, when contacted them again this time they were a total disaster, very unprofessional. Didn't show up for the appointment, an hour later after no show called them and told me they can't make it today, will be tomorrow and wanted to charge double the price they charged me last time for exactly the same work.
Either they changed management or built confidence and trying to rip customers. Not recomendemos at all!

I called Commando Plumbing about 3 months ago and got excellent service. I called yesterday (November 27, 2022) for an appointment for this morning between 10-12 because of a dead garbage disposal.

Leo showed up about 10:11. Did a few tricks, one of which I knew, and had it running again. Surprised me a great deal, I was prepared to pay for a brand new unit and installation cost.

Surprised me even more when Leo told me the price for this morning's call (which fixed the problem) was on the house.

I think I have just found a plumber for life!!!

Leo from Commando Plumbing was very transparent throughout the whole process.

We had a leak coming from below our 2nd floor bathtub and a clog in the other room. He informed us that they were two separate issues and we decided to just fix the leak since it was the highest priority issue at the time. After inspecting the leak, he informed us that it would be a much bigger job because he would have to replace all the piping because whoever did the initial installation didn't put enough plumbers clay for the pipes.

Leo suggested we call our HOA if they were the ones to replace those pipes and fix it. Otherwise he would try to give us a discount because the pipes were basically brand new.

After the assessment, Leo kindly unclogged the toilet for free for us, which was greatly appreciated after the occurrences of the leak.

I Reached out to have our on-demand HW serviced. I scheduled with Abraham based upon their own availability. I work M-F, so my wife stayed home waiting for them to arrive. After 3 hours, and a call from me, we learn they simply decided not to show up. no call. My wife is a nurse who works nights, and she has precious few daylight hours to waste on irresponsible contractors.

I called two months later, thinking it must have simply been a bad day for Commando Plumbing. I scheduled a visit when I had a day off of work. they told me 9 AM, Thursday. I worked my day's schedule around Commando's requested 9 AM Thursday appointment time. On Wednesday I get a call from one of their guys asking where I am; he is at my house waiting. I told him the appointment is TOMORROW, THURSDAY. He tells me OK. On Thursday I race back to the house to be ready for their 9 AM appointment by 8:30 AM. At 9:10 AM I call to ask what time they will arrive. Abraham tells me yeah, they dispatched him yesterday . I again ask what time the tech will be here. Crickets. He then asks about sometime in the afternoon. Are you kidding me. My response: you know what? Forget it.

Whatever you do, if you value your peace of mind and your precious spare time, just say no to Commando Plumbing

The water pipe betwee my house and the water meter bursted. Found Commando / Victor via Yelp and they delivered wonderful service with very fair price.

It's so easy to book a time with Victor as he's very responsive.

The tech he sent over started digging to identify the issue right away. This step is all free (while some other vendors require a non-refundable fee for initial investigation); then I received a quote from Victor which is pretty fair.

Once we have received the approval from HOA, we called Victor to start the job. Even he didn't have everything ready to start (pending for some measurements), he offered to connect our house and the water meter with a hose - so that we can have water.

A few days later, when all things are ready, Commando guys showed up in the very morning and got things done quickly and nicely.

I feel so fortunate to use their service. Will definitely recommend them to others.

We needed to have our tankless water heater flushed for maintenance. I used yelp to get quotes from several businesses. Commando plumbing gave us the best price and I contacted using Yelp. The owner replied very quickly and I was able to get an appointment next day. Caesar came on time and wore booties to enter our house. I requested him to show me how to do it since I am considering doing it myself next time. He took time to explain and showed me as he worked. He was kind and knowledgeable and it took about one hour to finish. Thank you!

We happily used Commando once before. Though we found Victor friendly but flaky, his crew was great. They did a major overhaul of our sewage pipes under the house.

We later scheduled him for snaking a drain, got a clear confirmation...but they didn't come. We called. Nothing. We pinged him via Yelp asking what happened. No response. We had to get a different plumber, which made for two more days of no shower. So disappointing.

Great crew but very unreliable. After one good experience we will go elsewhere in the future. Handy Plumbing Man has been reliable across two jobs with a great scheduling system.

Absolutely do not use. They replaced a shower valve in an Apt building my family owns , 4 hour job for 1 man , almost a $2,000 bill , amazing . They did not have or give any sort of estimate. I thought them to be trustworthy as they had replaced a water heater at my home 2 weeks before at a fixed price . Unfortunately we live in an up-scale neighborhood and my guess is they figured I would pay anything because of where we live.

Our master bedroom shower clogged, initially I called Pro Roto first thing in the morning, but they were all booked so they gave me Leo's number. Leo responded right away. He was fully booked as well but squeezed me into his schedule within 3 hrs. He also gave me a heads up 20 min before he arrived. He and his working partner came properly masked and had shoe cover on. They were able to unclogged our shower drain in no time. (Clogged drain caused by large clump of my long hair) So grateful for their help!!

Leo recently installed the plumbing for my two bathroom vanities and my kitchen, both of which were dated from the 80's.

He provided a free on-site consultation and kept to both the quote and the timetable that he gave me. During the consultation, he was incredibly clear about what needed to be done and patient in explaining the trade-offs of the different options. He is licensed, bonded, and insured. (As a side note: I obtained quotes from 4 companies and he came in at about half what anyone else quoted)

In the bathrooms, he changed all the feed line valves as well as rebuilt the drain line to fit with the IKEA p-trap which goes against the wall, so that the vanities could have full-sized drawers in front. He also caulked the IKEA vanity sink into place. In the kitchen, he changed all the feed line valves, rebuilt the p-trap, installed the garbage disposal, and installed the dishwasher.

He was meticulous in his work, checking and rechecking everything until it was perfect. His work was of the highest quality and he was polite, calm, and attentive to every concern and question.

I have no hesitation in recommending him very highly!

I am really happy with Commando plumbing and would recommend them to anyone looking for an excellent plumber! I had a bad leak under my sink and unfortunately discovered it on the weekend. I kept scrolling through Yelp and trying to find someone who could come out immediately and fix it. Victor came to the rescue! He was there within a few hours and immediately figured out what the problem was. Yet he did not stop there...he asked about other water issues in my house and took a look at my water heater, where he discovered that the last plumbers who installed it had not properly vented the gas out of the house. Without him, I would still be breathing carbon monoxide in my house! He came back a few days later to fix that problem. It was a bit more expensive than I thought, but he gave me a small discount for which I was grateful. I was surprised reading other comments here that he is not responsive...he responded within hours whenever I texted him and always followed up. I think he is totally reliable and what is better is how proactive he was. I can't thank him enough for discovering my water heater problem...totally thorough and professional. Thank you, Victor!

We've used Commando Plumbing for several issues over the past few years. They've been excellent. We had a leak under our kitchen sink last night, and called them up this morning. Leo came out promptly to diagnose the problem. He clearly communicated the issue and several possibly solutions. After picking one, he got it finished quickly, and also went under the house to make sure that we didn't have any additional water damage. I was extremely pleased with the service, and while I really hope we don't have another plumbing emergency any time soon, if we do, we'll be calling Commando.

I will give these guys five stars due to their customer focus and unrelenting effort for service excellence. The owner, Victor was professional when I was looking to replace my kitchen sink garbage disposal unit. He not only gave transparent and competitive price, but he also scheduled the visit proactively. Very similar to established big businesses. Victor was not the cheapest but I chose him due to his proactive steps to get it done.

However, what I liked more about them is their effort to do it right. After the guys came and installed the unit, it was still leaking a drop or two (slow leak). I called them and they came back immediately. But they could not fix it. Victor himself landed up within an hour and fixed it. Amazing professionalism.

Amazing and above and beyond service! We had a clogged bathroom toilet and sink in danger of overflowing. Called Vic at 9:30AM, he gave us a 2 hour window 10AM-12PM and arrived exactly at 10:30AM. In this day and age, punctuality is like trying to find a needle in the haystack. Vic figured out the root of the problem very quickly and explain the procedures to us in a clear and concise manner, so we, the laymen, can quickly grasp the situation at hand. The installation of our new subzero fridge (not by Box Appliance) left us with a problem -- the dispenser delivered ice but no water. A previous Box Appliance customer recommended them to me. I called on a Friday and they solved my problem on the following Monday. For the appointment at my house, Steven showed up 6 minutes after the start of the appointment window (wow) and fixed the problem within minutes. Since the fridge was in warranty, the appointment was free.

Steven was among the best service personnel I have ever encountered and he provided helpful info regarding care and maintenance going forward. Prompt, courteous, friendly, knowledgeable -- he was all of these. These guys get an A+ all the way.

I rarely leave reviews but this is a MUST! The garbage disposal in my home stopped working as if the electricity is disconnected. I contacted about 6-8 places on Yelp and Commando was 1 of 2 places that offered a free quote.
I met Alex the very next day. Turns out the problem was resolved with a simple reset. Took him maybe 1 minute to fix it. And then he walked me through how to do the resets he did. I also asked him of few more questions about maintenance and life span of the disposal, he was very knowledgeable and answered my questions directly.

We had an emergency situation in our home where none of the toilets were flushing. Victor agreed to come in early morning the next day which was a Saturday. He quickly assessed that we had a major blockage in the drains going out of the house and that we would need to install a cleanout as part of fixing it as our house did not have a cleanout.
He and his crew were able to fix the whole thing within a few hours - This work included cutting through concrete to get to the pipes, installing the cleanout, unclogging the drain and pouring new concrete back.

After that, we had Victor come over again to fix a few more things in the house and were once again very happy with the quality and speed of his work.

Victor is very detailed in his work and knows how to get any type of plumbing work done quickly and efficiently. I would strongly recommend him.

As originally mentioned, they do a project fee which is greater than competitors holiday charge. Ask for cost before they show up.

Plumber left glue primer stains on our color-coated stucco wall and powder coated steel roof. Neither could be repaired.

In attempting to discount the cost because of the damage, Victor stated a figure but the bill was different (higher)

UPDATE; now a few weeks later, the joint we paid to repair leaks again. We've contacted another plumber.

I had a toilet clog that I needed cleared, and I also wanted the toilet replaced. I contacted nine plumbers via Yelp's Request a Quote.

One did not reply at all. One was unavailable for the requested service date (three days out). Five wanted to schedule an appointment to assess the situation before giving a quote. (I understand why it makes sense to come on site for the quote, but getting the quote and then needing to decide on the spot whether to proceed with that company isn't great.)

Commando and one other company were willing to quote a price based on my description of the situation. Knowing the price beforehand (instead of having it sprung on me last-minute) gave me peace.

Victor (with whom I had been chatting over Yelp) arrived promptly and got right to work. He accommodated our shoe-free household by laying down fabric runners from the front door to the bathroom. He emptied and removed the old toilet, verified that the clog was in the toilet (not in the drain below), and installed the new toilet, all in about an hour! He verified that everything was working perfectly before we settled up. The price was exactly as he had quoted.

Victor even asked if I wanted to touch up the wall paint before he installed the new toilet (since the old toilet was flush against the wall, making it impossible to paint behind it). This was really considerate, and I appreciated the care he took in our home. I hope to never need to hire a plumber again... but when it inevitably happens, I'll go with Commando again.

I had a leaky 1 water shut-off valve going into my home. I contacted Commando Plumbing via Yelp messaging and they responded quickly. Victor came to my house and looked at the issue and gave me an estimate for $540. The price was equivalent to other estimates (including one for $180/hr who estimated 3 hours) and I asked him to repair the pipe.

On the day of service, he called to say he was going to be early. He came to my house, was friendly, and repaired the issue by replacing the valve with a new ball valve. The result looks good and works as expected.

I'm taking two stars off because of the price. It only took him 50 minutes to do the repair. It's about $20 for a valve and a few more bucks for copper and solder. Let's call it $500 for 50 minutes of work. That's lawyer-level hourly wages.

I asked him if the cost would be lower because it wasn't as difficult as estimated and he said no, the estimate is the price. The invoice describes the work done but doesn't list costs for either labor or parts.

I can recommend Commando for the quality of work, but the pricing left me feeling uncomfortable. Make sure you negotiate prices beforehand.

Sorry I can not longer modify my previous review. New news: after agreeing to a proposed solution to the ' no show' issue, we rescheduled the service. The guys showed up on time on a holiday (July 4 th).

To make a long story short, the initial estimate proved to be low-balled and the amount of labor and materials would probably be way higher. We mutually agreed that the risk of that required more thought. So we cancelled the work order.

The response of everyone at Commando was very professional. I would now tend to recommend them. Sometime it takes a problem and its resolution to judge a company.

I purchased one of those fancy Toto Washlet bidet toilet seats from Amazon, hoping that it would be a breeze to install it myself on my existing Toto toilet. But when I got it, I realized I had to unscrew the water line from the tank to attach the T-valve that supplies water to the Toto Washlet seat. Unfortunately, the design of the Toto toilet has the attachment point way up in the back of the tank and I could barely get my hands to reach up there, much less unscrew it.

So my options were to either return it back to Amazon and call it a day, or to get some professional help, as I suspect this might require removing the entire toilet from the ground to get the hose to unscrew.

I decided to give Commando Plumbing a go based on the nice reviews and the proximity late on Wednesday night - I was surprised that a few seconds after I submitted my strange inquiry that someone called me from Commando Plumbing - it was Sam, the owner! He was familiar with the problem and said he'd be able to get someone out there the following morning!

Come the next morning, Michael showed up (very courteous and attentive) and sure enough, figured out the only way to do this was to remove the entire basin. I was fine with the quote he gave, and 30-40 mins later (while I was still on my work call), he'd finished - not just removing it, but installing the Toto Washlet seat with everything all wired up and tested! Everything was clean and spotless as well, and couldn't tell that we did any work on it. Now my wife are enjoying warm butts while having our bottoms cleaned!

I would definitely have Commando plumbing on my quick-dial moving forwards for future plumbing needs - I think have may have a few more projects coming down the pipe!

They did an incredible job at a reasonable price! We had a broken offset mainline under the house with a very tight crawl space. The estimate seemed reasonable so we said go ahead. Commando showed up with three people and all the tools and material to reconstruct a day lighted main under the house, and dig a deep hole to connect to the old main past the break. They worked hard all day and finished early evening. Recently I crawled (slithered) under the house to run an Ethernet cable and was astonished at the amount of work they did. Real professional work. Highly recommend this contractor.

I had requested a quote for this problem: Toilet base is leaking and standing water in shower. Toilet previously plugged on Monday.

And I received a quote for $245-270. However, after servicing the toilet clog, Victor said it would cost another $263 to replace the toilet wax ring to seal the leak. Very unfortunate and disappointing.

I would advise potential customers to reclarify the problem(s) and estimate before the work actually begins.

I never leave any reviews before but I have to do this for Commando Plumbing. Victor is so responsible. He came the next morning after I reported a leak in the water pipe that they put in for me few months ago. He tried his best to help me solved the problem and replaced the broken part without charging me. He said that's under the warranty. Our second toilet clogged at around 6pm and we called multiple other 24 hour plumbing companies and all gave us a really hard time and either wanted to go the next day, told us to all use the one working toilet (there are 5 of us in the house + one Air BnB guest), or said that because it was after 5 pm that it would be around $480 - $600 which is too expensive.

Commando was so nice and I spoke to Victor. We got his cell number and he was at our house in less than 15 minutes. He unclogged our toilet in less than 5 minutes and it costed only $225.00

I called Commando Plumbing last year for a quote on connecting bathroom downspout to the main pipe. Victor came and went to inspect the crawlspace. I wanted to say thanks to Sam for helping me deal with a dead rat in the crawlspace!

A few months later, my toilet got jammed up and disposal stopped working. I called Commando Plumbing and they were very prompt in replying. They came and fixed everything. They were very clean in finishing up too!

I contacted Commando to diagnose our leaking dishwasher. Victor (the owner I think) contacted me on a Sunday, just a few hours after I requested a quote through Yelp, and offered to stop by to take a look. He was honest in letting me know that his company specialized in plumbing and the issue could be one that required a dedicated appliance repair shop. Victor showed up the next Monday early within the agreed upon window and quickly determined that the issue was outside of his company's specialties. I was happy to pay him for the visit but he generously refused to accept payment. For such great customer service, I would definitely put Commando at the top of my list for any future plumbing issues.

We had an ongoing problem with our kitchen sink which got clogged all the time. We called Commando Plumbing and they sent Alex to give us an estimate. He went into the crawl space and found that there was a bigger problem with our pipes being old and leaking. Through my conversation with him, I found him very knowledgeable and experienced. He was able to explain the root cause to me and also answer all my questions with great patience. I trusted him right away. Since this became a much bigger project, we also called a few more plumbers, all highly rated by yelp. However, they were either being pushy, or sent someone rookie, or quoted a much higher price . We eventually decided to go with Commando Plumbing.

On the day of the project, Alex and his team arrived on time. They worked on the pipes the whole morning and fixed the problem. My kitchen sink now works great and I have brand new pipes. Definitely a high five to Alex and his team. Thank you, Alex! You'll be my go-to person in the future.

I agree with the rest of the reviews. Victor is great! Honest, fast, won't rip you off (did I mention honest?), and is available for same day fixes. I originally called for a quote for a busted garbage disposal and clogged drain - he came out to look at it same day, and what he quoted was so reasonable I didn't even bother to clear it with my landlord. He was able to fix it then and there -
in all of 15 minutes (maybe less) problem was solved. Oh, and he takes credit cards. Will absolutely call Commando first when my next plumbing emergency strikes. Thanks Victor!

I've had three different plumbing companies fix the plumbing under my kitchen sink. In one case the pipe fell off after a fix. The pipe began leaking and Victor at Commando explained how the configuration was forcing water to flow upwards before it went down. He said best to access the main water-flow-away pipe by cutting into my bathroom wall behind the kitchen sink and reconfiguring the pipes so water would drain down and away instead of having to loop upwards and away. It made sense to me. Victor fixed the pipe configuration, showed what he did and how it worked. He called a drywall guy who came at the end of the day and patched up the bathroom wall so you couldn't even tell it had been cut into.
Victor was professional, polite. I'd call him a logical plumber, and I'm happy he works in the Redwood City area.

I received a quote from Victor by email the day after I my email request. Mario from Commando arrived on time today. He was very friendly and professional. After listening to my need of having my 2 sewer clean outs to prevent backups (I had a bad one 3 years ago), he suggested a better and cheaper way of achieving it. He also recommended to use a camera to inspect the pipe. He finished in a short time. At the end, I the pipe was cleaned and I learned the condition of the sewer pipe for less money than I had originally estimated. I will call them back again!

I had to have it done and ran down the list on Yelp. I got an immediate response from Issac who sent Leo, a very comparable plumber who spelled out the work involved and cost. I opted for just the repair of my kitchen plumbing which he converted from a hodgepodge of different materials. (I'll deal with the garbage disposal later) I'm relieved to say I was able to leave the house with no leaks for my wife who was still at work while I left to visit our granddaughter in Sacramento. A week ago I noticed a fairly good leak coming from the pipes in my basement. This is not ok! My photo albums and old Halloween costumes are down there!

Anyway, I call this place up because the name of the business to be honest, and get ahold of Sam, he owner. He is able to come out in an hour, Which is just terrific. He fixed it no problem and the pricing was very reasonable.

OMG, Alex was amazing! I called three plumbing companies, because I had several jobs around the house that needed doing. I was afraid it was going to be expensive, and I wanted to get several quotes. The first company wouldn't come out to look, but gave me a base price of $600 based on my description of the jobs, saying that it could be a lot more than that and would take a minimum of two to three hours. The second company still hasn't called back.

Alex was out here two hours or less after I called and took care of all of the jobs in half an hour. Even better, he actually showed me how I could fix one of the problems by myself. And best of all, the price was way less than what the first dude had quoted me. I AM SOLD ON COMMANDO PLUMBING, and especially on Alex!!

WOW! I am a big fan of Yelp and saw the ALL 5 stars for Commando. I Called and.....Impressed with fast response from Victor.
Then David and Chris came shortly after to install a new toilet. They were diligent in cleaning the area before installation. Heaven know what was living under a 30 year old toilet. They brought a better quality seal. They installed new flex line and valves. They hauled away the old toilet.

The guys did such a good job I went through my list of other delayed plumbing problems with David to look over, anticipating another appointment. I had a kitchen sink that would always back up. Dave advised me on some solutions to my problem and take one step at a time. He re-plumbed the kitchen drains that were horribly clogged , installed new better pipes, checked out my garbage disposal to be sure I didn't need a new one. Solved most everything in a day at a very reasonable price. Other plumbers charge monster hourly cost plus travel time. NOT Commando.

I especially want to give my money and business to Vets who served our country. I am so impressed with the professionalism, service, courtesy, expert plumbing knowledge and honesty with pricing. Neighbors are always seeking contacts for HONEST services and COMMANDO will be on the top of my list . If I could give 10 stars I would. I will be calling again for further plumbing needs for sure.

Several months ago, the inlet line to our septic tank got plugged by roots and the system backed up. In the course of getting it fixed, we noticed a large pipe in the crawl space with a 1/2 inch crack in it that was leaking sewage. I asked three plumbers for repair bids. The first two quoted around $3000, not including sheet rock repair and possible stucco work. Michael of Commando came last and to my delight said that repair was not really necessary. The crack was in a vent pipe and would only leak if the system backed up again. The solution then is to roto-root the inlet line periodically which will cost way less than $3000.

I had a really good experience with Commando plumbing. I did a lot of research and decided to have them replace my garbage disposal. Of all the places I called, the seemed like the most genuine plumbers. They didn't ask me specifics about garbage disposals-Other places I called asked questions unnecessarily detailed questions which to me seemed like avenues for them to make more money. Commando plumbing asked me what service I needed and they gave me their rate.

When their technician (Marin )came in, he was very knowledgeable,and had very good communication skills. He informed me of any possible concerns and kept his promise to notify me of any extra work and costs so that I could knowledgeably consent before he took action.

Overall, the replacement was quick and hassle free.

I have no doubt that I will come back to Commando plumbing for problems that are within their realm of expertise. Without hesitation, I highly recommend them to anyone considering inquiring for their services.

1.5 years ago my kitchen drain was clogged up. I called up Commando after 3 different plumbing services had come to the house and given me all types of excuses for not being able to fix the problem. I have a Rheem water heater at home. One day it stopped working and the indicator light suggests flammable vapor sensor lockout. I called Rheem customer support to get the part number and ordered a replacement sensor on Amazon. I installed the sensor but still no luck, no hot water in the house. Then I turned to Yelp for a good plumbing service in my area and called Commando Plumbing. They returned my call shortly after I called and gave me a price estimate over the phone. Not only that, I talked with an expert on the phone about the problem I had. He was very knowledgable and experienced, and very honest about what needs to be done to solve the problem. He gave me many tips how to resolve the issue over the phone, and how much it would cost him to come over and fix it for me. I have always been very curious about fixing things myself, so gave it another try based on his tips. And it worked!!! This is by far the most honest and helpful plumbing company. Next time I have something broken in the house, I would definitely hire Commando to do the job for me.

I wanted to give Victor a high rating for fixing our re-circulation system. His crew showed up on time on the scheduled day and all seemed in good order when he left. However, the sensor Victor put on the system to regulate the pump was not working properly. I have called Victor three times and left messages asking him to come fix the problem. He has not returned my phone calls and, now, in addition to the sensor not working, we are experiencing increased pipe noise which Victor supposedly fixed. I'm sad to say that I cannot recommend Commando Plumbing for plumbing repairs.

I had a leak in the main water line that another leak detection company could not find and yet charged me $345. Victor & crew took the time to isolate the leak and repair it. Not an easy job as the meter is a very long was from my home. It took two days locate the break. They then had to trench & reroute piping around a large Redwood tree. Mario and Victor did a great job for me. I had a sewer pipe backing up, and Mario came right out, talked it over in depth with me, and gave a thorough, knowledgeable quote on the spot. After some unexpected headaches (ridiculously deep pipe that took 2 full days to dig down to, complicated y-joint, old-fashioned clay pipe fittings) they needed to modify their quote before proceeding. This made perfect sense, and they even allowed me to climb down into the trench to see the situation for myself. The new figure was fair, and they completed the job nicely. Our sewer line backed up and we found out it was broken. It was an old ceramic pipe that the tree roots had finally broken up in several places. I got 3 estimates for a trenchless replacement sewer pipe from our yard to the property line and decided to go with Commando Plumbing. Victor came and did the estimate and also was willing to do the asphalt repair after the replacement since it went through our driveway. Victor was always professional. He responded quickly to any messages I left. He got the permits and supervised the inspections (that all passed). It's now all up to code and operating properly. We only had to have our water off for a couple of hours one day. Our yard was not dug up nor the tree roots much disturbed. Any unexpected delays were met with persistence and a positive attitude. I would use Commando Plumbing again and recommend them to others.

Victor and Commando Plumbing came out to look at a potential broken pipe situation - we had water coming through our floor. In 10 minutes, he identified that the problem did not seem to be a pipe, but was actually a sprinkler misfiring water through a gap in the wood siding of the house -- a $2 hardware store repair. He was professional, courteous, and responsive -- Victor picked up when I called on Memorial Day. We'll definitely call him next time we have a problem. Thank you Victor!

Commando Plumbing did a great job fixing our leaky toilet. There was a bit of a scheduling problem--they forgot we had an appointment--but when they sped over anyway, they did an outstanding job. They explained what they were doing and did it expeditiously and with courtesy. THey also explained what problems might be expected going forward and how to manage them. Overall, a very positive experience.

We have used him 3 times for different things over the last year: changed a water heater, changed a kitchen faucet and installed a water purifier, and last time (yesterday) a clogged sewage line. Great every time. Highly recommended.

We had a leak under the kitchen sink from a rusted out drain pipe in a 1960's condo in San Carlos. We called multiple plumbers because the fittings were older and didn't how to fix it ourselves. Mario was the first guy to come out, he was respectful, on-time, prepared with what he needed, had shoe covers to protect our floors, assessed the situation and gave us a quote in about 10 minutes, including best case and worst case scenarios with information on how he would approach it. He specifically recommended against cutting into cabinet (lots of layers of material, harder to repair), saying in the worst case he could cut into the drywall on the other side which could be easily patched. Later the day, another plumber team came by to give us a quote - in contrast, they were unprepared, missing tools (had to borrow my flashlight, no screwdriver). They sounded confident and said it was an easy job, just had to get off the old fitting, and they gave us a cheaper quote. So we said OK. They tried but failed to get the fitting out, then proceeded to cut into the cabinet (which Mario had recommended against), and low-and-behold, found many layers of material (just like Mario had said). That wasn't working, so then they recommend going in the drywall on the other side, and then say it's going to cost 2x what Mario's worst case estimate was. Nope. We called Mario again, he came out SAME DAY, was able to quickly pop the old fitting out (best case scenario), not needing any of the cuts the other guys put down, rebuilt the drain with some of his own fittings, and honored his original best case price despite coming out twice.

If you want an honest, skilled, professional plumber who will try and solve your problem as responsibly as possible, call Mario. He's the only one we're using from now on.

My initial interaction with Commando wasn't great--they delayed the appointment, then didn't show and didn't let me know. However, in talking with the owner, it appears it was a one-time, personal family situation that caused them to miss the appointment, and very much against the grain of normal business practices. We re-scheduled, and when they came, they did a great job! Courteous, professional and competent. We look forward to working with Commando again next time something goes wrong.

Victor and Commando Plumbing were, by far, one of the most professional, qualified, and knowledgeable businesses I have ever dealt with. I called Commando Plumbing with a water leak at 4pm, and he was there that evening to assess the damage and suggest the repair. He and his assistant returned on Sunday to repair the broken pipe, which was located under the house's foundation. The work required considerable jack hammered removal of concrete in my garage, pipe repair, concrete replacement and more. It was a very complicated process because of the original placement of the pipe. Victor repaired everything and cleaned up after all work was done. He is FANTASTIC. I very highly recommend Victor and Commando Plumbing.

I cannot recommend Victor and his company more. Their responsiveness to plumbing needs is extremely quick. He has always been able to come out either same day or next day for my issues. He has corrected a gas line that was put in incorrectly by the previous owner, fixed toilet issues, kitchen sink issues, and laundry issues. He even installed a new laundry sink in my basement and built a wood box to lift it so it was at the same height as my old one. He cleans up after himself nicely, and is polite and has extremely fair pricing. I will continue to recommend him and his company to my friends and use him for any plumbing needs!

our water heater stopped working. pilot light wouldn't stay on. requested quotes on yelp to replace the thermocouple. victor gave the best quote. made an appointment with a 2 hour window. mario came at the beginning of the window, which was awesome. he patiently listened and explained everything in a straightforward manner, and he got the job done in a short time. overall, it was a pleasant and smooth experience. highly recommended.

Highly recommend Sam and Victor. Our water heater developed a leak and Victor came in the same day to assess the situation. Found out the replacement and gave me a reasonable quote the very next morning, despite it being the weekend. By Monday afternoon, Sam came in and did an excellent and professional job. I received exceptional service yesterday from Mario of Commando Plumbing. Late the prior evening our toilet and bathtub backed up and we could not take care of ourselves with plunging and a snake. It's awful to be without a working toilet and shower, which really puts a homeowner in a difficult situation. In the morning our local plumbing company was booked for several days, so I was on my own to find someone else. Being a single woman plus living up in the mountains makes finding reliable and trustworthy services a real challenge. After making a handful of blind calls to other companies and being told they' don't service La Honda, I finally called Commando and spoke with Mario. With a reasonable fee for the extra travel time, he arrived within about two hours as promised and spent hours helping to locate the trap which was buried (he dug without complaint), relieving the clog with a snake, and then showing me from various locations the condition of my pipes via the video camera. He was very knowledgable, kind and patient as I asked many questions. He also evaluated my overall plumbing system which needs more work, and I'll definitely be hiring Commando to do it. Don't hesistate to use this company!

Excellent work performed by Victor. On a Saturday morning (due to the recent storms) we sensed a cracked outdoor gas pipe. PG&E immediately shut off the main gas line & recommended to have an experienced plumber come by & replace the pipe. We contacted 3 Plumbing Companies neither would come out on weekends. We contacted Victor & he was in our house in less than an hour. He assessed the situation & explained to us what repairs needed to be made, gave us a quote & said he would start right the next day. Sunday morning he showed up right on time, him along his assistant worked tirelessly under the rain digging a 40Ft long/ 2ft deep trench, in addition they also had to remove about a 4ftx15ft space of pavers. We were amazed at all the labor that it took to replace that pipe (the quote did not change). Monday afternoon Victor completed the job, cleaned up, PG&E came by to finalize the safety inspection & approved it with flying colors. Cannot Thank Victor enough for all his hard work and his commitment to satisfy his costumers. I would recommend Victor to anyone who needs an experienced plumber, reasonable quotes, prompt service & mainly exercises safety. Thank you Victor

I needed a plumber quickly as my tenant was going to have guests arriving within a couple of days. I had water leaking from the second floor into the first floor, which is a garage. Based on reviews and their website I called Commando Plumbing of Redwood City. My return call was made in an acceptable time frame. I told Victor the problem and he said he could have someone look at the issue late that afternoon. Based on reviews and initials calls I believed they were going to be reasonable in their pricing so I agreed to have them examine the problem. Victor sent over Leo that afternoon as stated. Leo diagnosed the problem; after testing the bath/shower and cut a hole into the sheetrock. As it was late afternoon he said he could make the repairs the next day about the same time in the afternoon which was agreeable to me. He returned the next day as planned and made the repairs as stated. I agreed to the pricing before work started and was given a senior discount as I am retired. Leo used shoe covers every time he entered the house. All went as planned, no surprises. I am satisfied by the work and pricing. Thank you.

My toilet seriously clogged on a Saturday late-afternoon. It was not a simple plunger job: I removed the toilet, snaked it with my 15 feet manual auger without reaching the obstruction. Called Commando Plumbing based on their location and yelp reviews. My phone call was immediately answered. I was given a reasonable estimate - without knowing exactly the issue, they obviously could not guarantee anything - which is very understandable. They factored-in the fact that I had removed and wanted to reinstall the toilet myself. I was scheduled for Victor's next job. He arrived within 1 hour, as announced. Victor used his professional equipment, with great care to my floors. He unclogged the drain pipe on its full length, rinsed it, ran a camera to confirm the condition of the pipe. Victor is very polite, careful, efficient. I was very pleased to be able to reinstall the toilet the same evening, with confidence that roots were not the problem. If I ever need any plumbing job - for a new construction or remodeling - I have no doubt that I will call Commando plumbing. The quality service I got deserve my repeated business.
