Mister Fixit

Woke up to no hot water and called Mister Fixit--he sent me a video on how to re-light the pilot and offered to walk me through it via video chat. I ended up not needing the chat but appreciate Mr Fixit's willingness to help me out for free and on the spot! He's a nice guy and now I have hot water, so 5 stars!

Ted assembled and installed some items I was replacing in my home. One of them was a complicated assembly and he did a great job with it. I'm pleased with his work and will call on him again.

I reached out to Ted while looking for a handyman to replace an old vanity, wall cabinet, and mirror in our bathroom. He was very responsive and generous with advice on where to get materials and what kind to get even before I had hired him.

Once on site, I found him to be super friendly, adaptive, and communicative. The project ended up increasing in scope (including tearing out and replacing some drywall) because of unforeseen circumstances. (It's an old house, so honestly I went in expecting a surprise or two.) Ted was great about laying out the options, being mindful of the unexpected increase in cost. Throughout the process I felt I was kept in the loop and consulted on all the decisions I wanted to be consulted on.

This was my first experience with a handyman and I'll definitely be calling Ted when I need one again.

Ted is not only a super cool dude, he is very thorough and reliable. He does his work quickly and most efficiently without skimping on quality. We hired Ted to come by and fix our janky light fixture that was placed by our homes previous owner, and all I can say is that I wish Ted was hired for that job in the very beginning!

Several items in our home were in need of repair, including a kitchen light, doorbell and thermostat. Ted (Mr. Fixit) is a great troubleshooter and easily found the source of the problems, getting them fixed one after the other. There are plenty of times when a specialized technician is overkill, and it's better to find someone who can take care of a broad range of smaller tasks quickly. Ted is a perfect handyman. He was also clear about things that were better handled by a specialist.

Basically, Ted was very professional throughout; he even brought indoor shoes to wear while inside our home (something noted by another reviewer). I appreciated the time he took to explain what he was doing while sharing the pros and cons of different approaches to resolving the problem.

We won't hesitate to call him again and would highly recommend him to others!

Ted was fantastic - professional, courteous, kind and did excellent work! He installed a new faucet and repaired a broken window expertly and quickly, and was able to accommodate my schedule, despite contacting him on short notice. I'll absolutely be calling him again! Highly recommended.

Ted helped me with an electrical emergency. He was responsive, prompt and was able to diagnose and remediate the issue with the circuit breaker like an expert electrician. Started a project with Mister Fixit (Ted) and so far he's been responsive, transparent, and detail oriented. He demoed the drywall of my shed to repair a leak and is coordinating with a roofing company to solve the leak in the roof.

Me. Fixit is responsive, timely and efficient. He has helps us multiple times, with our garage vents, air conditioning, and other home projects.

We had a great experience with Ted last week when he fixed a bathroom door that kept coming off of its track. He was responsive, deliberate and thorough, finishing the job the same day after making sure he had the right materials and we were aligned on his approach. Thanks so much, Ted!

My in-wall heater had stopped working, and after checking the pilot and circuit breaker I had exhausted my ability to resolve the issue. HVAC companies wouldn't service in-wall heaters, so I thought to try a handyman.

I contacted Ted and he responded quickly, asking for photos of the thermocouple--a part inside the heater, which he correctly guessed was the issue. He had me order the part and scheduled a time to fix the heater when the part was due to arrive.

When he came, Ted replaced the part and while doing so found a separate problem with the igniter. He explained that the heater would still work, as we could ignite the pilot manually, but would try to clean the part of its corrosion first to mitigate any need for a replacement. That worked! No need to order another part and wait. He explained that he always tries to fix things first--within reason--before replacing them, an approach I greatly appreciate.

Not only is Ted very skilled and professional, but he's great for conversation and polite. We don't wear shoes in our house and I didn't even need to ask him to remove his, he already had.

I will absolutely hire Ted again for other projects, and recommend him to others.

Ted was very responsive and provided a timely quote for our wall heater issue. He helped diagnose the issue over text and gave us multiple options on how to best solve the issue. It was clear he had a lot of knowledge and took the time to search for components used to replace our old wall gas heater.

I hired Ted to assemble a large and complicated office desk. Ted was wonderful to work with!  He patiently worked through assembly instructions that were unclear and unhelpful, but Ted managed to assemble the desk beautifully in spite of the poor instructions.  His rates were incredibly reasonable and he was efficient, responsive, and professional. Sook is great! He was communicative, reliable and got everything in my house fixed that I needed. I'll be referring him out to my real estate clients. It's always nice  to have a great handyman.

I bought a '41 cottage with sweet original millwork. Unfortunately a previous owner had done a '90s bath remodel. ugh. Ted came in and restored it to my detailed specifications, giving me design input along the way. To my surprise he personally knows carpentry, plumbing, electrical, tile setting (tiniest grout lines). And he completed the work with minimal disruption to our lives (it's our only bathroom!!) Yes I recommend him.

I had given him one star because he never showed up, but he finally sent a text telling me that he had been sick. I found someone else to do the job, so I never worked with him. I'll upgrade my review to three stars for getting back to me.

Prompt communication, got the work done on schedule and within the estimate and cleaned up afterwards. Also very COVID conscious which is appreciated!

He was on time, and helped me with extra stuff that wasn't apart of this job. He goes above and beyond.

Great job fixing the bathroom fan and running out to get spare parts for unexpected issues. Also tolerated the job while our dog barked from the next room over. Professional and would recommend

I had many people say they were either going to call me back or show up for an assignment, but Ted was the only one who kept his word. No shade, but shade...I had no idea how unreliable people are in this line of work. It was a relief to find someone who is trustworthy. In one meeting our door got fixed  and that was that, thanks buddy.

Ted and team are great. They have done a variety of projects for us from a full kitchen remodel, tiling the basement, insulation and drywall, electrical and painting. He is very knowledgeable, responsive and does great work. I highly recommend him.
