These guys are the best. I had a situation at home and another electrician from a different company made things worse and tried to overcharge us, so I called B&K in desperation. Leland was really helpful right from the beginning, being very communicative, even tried to troubleshoot with me over the phone. Their pricing was transparent and reasonable. They sent someone to fix the problem very soon, and when the same problem occurred on the same circuit a day after their initial visit, they sent someone same-day to fix it again with no additional charge. The electricians were also very respectful and communicated with us very clearly. My experience with B&K has been very positive so far and I'm very thankful of them.

I reside in a 10 unit TIC (condo complex) in Rampart Village. Moved in 9 months ago. At the time we had awful festoon (aka string) lights in the common area, installed by the builder/remodeler. They needed to be replaced and properly installed this time. Also have a wonderful old 1920s concrete column with an orb (sphere) globe atop. It needed wiring installed to work.
A member of our board knows the folks at B & K, decided to have them do the install. We're not the easiest folks to work for as there were several opinions on how things should be done. Bottom line? We got a WORLD CLASS professional installation, the lights look and work magnificently.
The orb was a special challenge. They had to run UL class 2 (low voltage) cable under the walkway, install a sensor + transformer. It was not easy; however, they came up with the perfect way to do this and got it done.
I have spent over 40 years of my life working in the electrical industry. I've seen 1,000+ contractors do work. It's rare that I personally am pleased when it comes to electrical work. But this time I am 100% satisfied as these folks exceeded my expectations.
If you need electrical work done and you're as fussy as I am? Call them.

Here's the thing I had a great experience when Leland sent David out to my property for a light install.. I wanted to hire them again, but Leland ghosted me. Never responded to text never responded to calls I don't get it.. I just now read reviews saying that he had done that to them as well. It's so odd. I had the best experience on the first job but the second job I guess it was just too small or they were just not interested sad I really thought they were great company..
Very disappointed. Leland seems a great guy. Came out and had a solution to a complex problem and sent quote which I accepted. Then ghosted with family problems the reason. Absolutely no reply to any calls or texts.
Feel badly for his situation but wonder why he simply disappeared.
Wondering why he answered a similar complaint on Yelp with same excuse.
The least you can do, pal...
I needed a new motion detector security light installed and B&K came right out the very next day and did an excellent job! I wish all contractors were like Leland, he's dependable and honest!
Hands-down, best experience with a contractor ever! I will absolutely refer him to anyone needing electrical work in the future.

I've worked with Leland and B&K for years, at home and for businesses, there's no one better for any kind of electrical job!
You know how some people have lawyers and doctors and therapists? Well, I have electricians and they are B&K. They communicate. They are professional. They show up when they say they will. They are clean. And THEY DO THE WORK!
Completely ghosted me on a medium sized job. If you need a small item installed- probably OK, but not for anything needing knowledge of electricity.

We had a wonderful experience with Leland and his team at B&K electric. They ran electrical to our fountain in the front yard. They were prompt, clean and affordable. Will definitely use them again!
Incredible service, always. I've been using Leland for a long time, and he is super knowledgeable and responsive! Highly recommend!
Our HOA recommended them so we called but he told us to text them to schedule. We did and he did not respond... we pinged again and all he responded was Tomorrow PM ... we requested specific time and he never responded nor showed up nor followed up.
We reported to HOA and will be scheduling with someone else. Terrible experience before the actual service. Being non-responsive is the easiest and they screwed up on that one. I don't trust them.

I couldn't recommend B&K more. I had a grounding issue on an overhead can, a burnt out dimmer, and mis-wired landscape lighting. B&K was right on time, friendly, professional, and did fantastic work. Not only did he take care of all the issues immediately and bring exactly the right parts, he even noticed an error on charging me and came back right away to fix it. I hadn't even noticed and he said his math had been wrong and I actually owed less, amazing. One of the most honest and professional experiences I've had with a company in LA. I would highly recommend them!

These guys came within 2 days and fixed a tricky issue with my outlet under the kitchen sink and the outlet above the stove where the main wire had been cut by the previous owner who was a wannabe handyman. Very professional and efficient. Price was fair. Will definitely call again!

A+++ guys!
Lets just say home improvement is not my forte so I ended up calling B&K to ask them about a sparking outlet. They were so nice and walked me through what is a apparently a very common occurrence. Here I was about to spend $150 on some guy knocking a whole in my wall when all I had to do was replace a switchplate and buy a new chord. Thank you for being so honest and helpful. I may not have needed your service today, but I will certainly be calling you in the future. You guys are the best!

These guys were very timely - came out the same day (within a few hours) to fix my kitchen light fixture that went out! I would definitely recommend!

So glad we called these guys - one of the few electricians to pick up your call and keep in touch with call backs etc. Half our house was out. Alexis scheduled an onsite eval very next day and within one hour the guys identified and fixed the issue. We are on a budget and they we so understanding and saved us heaps of cash - what a breath of fresh air - its companies like this that put big business to shame - go BK you guys are the best !

Excellent work. I have called them now 3 or 4 times and each time has been professional, top quality service. Leland will come out to quote you and then he sends one of his crew to do the job. If there is a problem or they are going to be late, he calls. Couldn't be happier with the results. You're in good hands.
Great service from B&K Electric. They were right on time and installed two lights in our condo hallway quicky and efficiently. Will def use again next time we need some electrical work done.
My experience with B&K was great - from the quick response for a quote, to the quote itself (very reasonable), and the work performed. Leland was wonderful, was able to make a same day appointment and promptly was able to diagnose and take care of the repairs he could do at the moment. I'm waiting for a replacement controller/ receiver for my ceiling fan and will call him to fix and replace right when I receive the part. Would recommend him to anyone.
Leland is totally UNRELIABLE with POOR COMMUNICATIONS skills. 2 appointments completely IGNORED, does not call back.

I was stood up by another electrician. While in North Hollywood Hardware, I asked Jack if he felt comfortable in referring an electrician. He gave me B&K's card.
I immediately called and Leland came out the next morning.
Nice, Prompt, Courteous, Fairly Priced.
Based on my experience there is absolutely no hesitation in recommending B&K

Have used Leland for 15 years. Not only thorough, competent, focused, and professional, but a terribly nice guy. All of the crew who work for B & K are always good. Very reliable and responsive.
I first hired B & K after having suffered through 3 or 4 different lifelong electricians, two of which had been through a home warranty service. In one instance, they all blamed a faulty light fixture; one knew it wasn't but couldn't figure out how to fix the connection. Leland showed up and immediately identified the problem and fixed it in ten minutes. I've never used any other electrician since.

Called Powell electric and they just were not helping me at all!! Called b and k, literally an hour later our power to our business was back on! They saved the day! Thanks a lot you guys!!
In the past, I've often found Yelp reviews to be very useful, but never felt compelled to write one of my own ... until now.
I've had two different lighting problems in my home for months. Two switches simply stopped working: the overhead lighting in the master bedroom, and a switch for a chandelier in the dining room. I contacted two different electricians that I found Yelp for help. One showed up, explained how difficult my problems were, and then promised to get back to me after the holidays because he was so busy. I never heard from him again.
The second electrician made an appointment with me, then promptly cancelled that appointment, also claiming to be too busy. It was hard to believe they'd be so busy when they treat potential customers so poorly. Who would put up with this?
At the end of my rope, I called Leland and B & K Electric, with zero expectations of any better treatment. Boy, was I wrong. Not only did Leland give me an appointment for the very next day, but he had me text him pictures of the switches to get a head start on the problem.
Minutes later, I got an call from Leland saying that, in fact, he was in the neighborhood and if I didn't want to wait until tomorrow, he would come right over and help me out!
In the span of 30 minutes, (about an hour after I first called), Leland showed up AND fixed BOTH my problems with ease and expertise. And, the service charge was beyond reasonable.
I have NEVER had a service experience regarding home repair that ended with a result as pleasant and completely satisfying as this one.
As I told Leland, B & K has a customer for life with me. If you need an electrician, I can't imagine you will find a more friendly, dependable, and expert company. I wish I could give him 6 stars.

We used this company for our community's electrical work previously and it was fine, but this time it took him 4 weeks to send someone over to replace our gated community's street light bulbs and when his worker arrived, he didn't have the proper equipment to do the job. When I called to complain he simply said Get someone else to do the job. I have his text to prove it. After waiting for 4 weeks and continuous delays I wasn't expecting that kind of treatment. All I can say is that he's very unprofessional and unorganized and we will NEVER EVER use him again.

Had partial electrical loss in my home.
Called at 12:30, electrician dispatched to my home by 1:00.
Leland trouble shooted and fixed it. Out the door by 1:30 (or less)! He was professional and curteous as well!

We discovered that we needed an electrician to make an adjustment to a built in BBQ before we could move out, and I needed someone to come within the hour. I phoned them about loss of power to the loft of our house in the Hollywood Hills, they said they would be over in about 1/2 hour, and they were here in less time than that. Checked various potential problems, and found an outside GFI plug had been wired incorrectly and water had tripped it, shutting off power to the entire loft area! Good detective work!! They rewired this, problem fixed, minimal charge. I am VERY happy. Polite, courteous and professional. I will use them again as required, and highly recommend them.

Leland and his team saved the day! On very short notice on a very hot day- Leland returned my frantic call within 30 minutes, had me text pictures of the problem, sent his team to grab parts and was at my home within the hour with a successful fix! I cannot thank him enough for coming through in a moments notice. Customer for life!

My real estate agent recommended B&K Electric for my home inspection. Leland came out and was very friendly. He found a major issue that the grounding stake was not attached. He also found a bunch of outlets in wet locations that were not GFCI. I remember Leland later when I stuck an outlet tester into a 3 prong outlet and found that some outlets were not grounded. I called him and explained the situation. He said he would come take a look at it. He made an appointment, but never showed up or ever called me again. It's been over two weeks! He seems like a competent electrician even though he missed the fact some outlets weren't grounded. However, I think there is no excuse for making appointments and never showing up or calling.
Jesse and another young gentleman (sorry, I can't remember his name) installed two fixtures in the kitchen, as well as some other random work around the house. They were on time, quick, and did great work. They checked with me to make sure everything was where I wanted it, and they cleaned up after themselves. Fantastic rate too for all the work. If you need electric work done, look no further.
B&K was great. Everyone was friendly on the phone and in person, service was prompt and price was very reasonable. The tech fixed our landscape lighting, installed an outdoor plug and light fixture, and lowered our ceiling fan. Very very happy with everyone at B&K.

Absolutely the best. On time, very professional, high quality work, fair price. Leland is very knowledgeable, patient with all my questions and his co workers have the same professionalism that is SO rare these days. The job they did was no easy task. Older home that needed a new panel, burying wires and complete rewiring through out. Lived up to the days quoted for the job. Always arrived on time, cleaned up after themselves. Completely satisfied 5 stars!
I have used these guys for 15 years. They are reliable, quick to respond, and actually know what they are doing. I have come to know Leeland- the owner- and I truly respect his work ethic and skill. Before I met Leeland, I was at the mercy of horrible electricians and had to have wiring redone. I really recommend these guys.
Was having an electrical problem in my office that needed some immediate attention. I found B & K on Yelp and called them at 12pm. A short while later they had a really nice guy come out (probably the nicest electrician I've ever met) and assess the situation. He needed to get a part and arranged to come to the office before we opened the next day. Problem solved. I will use this company again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.
I had several small electrical problems and called them on Monday. I was asked what would be a good day for someone to come to my home. I made the appointment and Jimmy arrived on time the next day. He looked at every thing I needed fixed, even replaced a couple of Malibu lighting bulbs out front and proceeded to do an excellent job with all minor problems. I called on Sunday evening and spoke with Leland about a low voltage landscape lighting problem. He fixed it Monday morning. He was courteous, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The price was right, too. I will definitely use him again.
I was having a problem with a ceiling fan and feared their was a fault in the wiring, and called Leland based on Yelp reviews. Given how hard it is to find a good, reliable electrician, I'm very grateful I found B &K. I will definitely be using them for all my electrical needs from now on.
