I've had Penna do 2 separate jobs for us over a 6 month period.

Once to install some recessed lights, run a new circuit in my garage and some GFCI outlets. Second time to install an EVSE to charge my car.

Both times communication has been clear, cost and time estimates matched expectations they set, plus the crew has been communicative and respectful around noise, mess, etc.

Guillermo was at my house for 4 days doing job #1 and was really great to work with.

We had a small project in our attic and acquired estimates from three electricians. Penna Electric was not the cheapest but by far the most professional and courteous during the estimate visit on. We signed the estimate proposal on October 14th and received a nice 'Thank You For Choosing Us' email on October 21st from Denise acknowledging receipt and a comment from her that We will be scheduling your job soon. That was the last communication received until today a month later.

During that 4 weeks I sent two emails requesting an update on where we were with scheduling. Then a third email yesterday again requesting an update and commenting that I hadn't heard word one from them in the past month and that if I didn't hear back that I won't contact or bother them again.

Received a text today that said, Unfortunately our free estimates don't get automatically scheduled the same week or same day. Due to shortage of staff and health concerns we cannot schedule electricians. We have to refer customers to YELP at this time. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Our project was not urgent and never did I demand to be scheduled quickly. What I asked of them was to let me know where in the scheduling process we were. I am far less annoyed about the lack of scheduling and much more annoyed at the complete ghosting for a month and then a 'thanks but no thanks' text. I don't typically spend much time on YELP, but since they suggested that is where I should go....well here I am. I can't comment on their work, only their communication, or lack thereof. Maybe our project was too small. One star for actually showing up to give us the estimate, one star for a really nice site visit, after that nothing really.

I know they're going to try to chalk this up to a miscommunication as the reason they didn't keep the appointment (which is completely inaccurate), but they made NO effort to reschedule. NONE. This tells me there was no real intention to come out even without a miscommunication. ZERO stars from me.

UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO PENNA'S response below: You say you're not sure if I'm addressing the right company (I am), but then go on to acknowledge misleading details of our conversation. The truth is that I set one appointment, and then someone on the team called shortly thereafter to push it to the next day at the same time, which I confirmed. One important, but omitted, detail: when you said that I didn't confirm the date -- again, inaccurate -- I asked for an alternative date, but you offered nothing. You said you didn't have the manpower for the service call. You basically said GOOD LUCK. You didn't show any willingness to reach a decent outcome. You sent me on my way. That tells me that even if the appointment was confirmed, you didn't have the people to fulfill the request. Is that right? You didn't really have an intention to make the service call.

In looking at other reviews, this is a common theme. Shame on me for not catching that sooner. You live and learn, I guess.

We purchased an EV and needed a charger installed. Got a few estimates, but Penna was the only one to come out and look at things before giving us an estimate, which was assuring. Daniel came out when scheduled and installed the charger, and he also took some time afterward to look at some loose wires we had from a demolished water feature to confirm they were safe/dead and could be cut, and looked at a broken porch light for us.

Penna Electric does first class work and takes the time to get it right.
They recently completed a main panel upgrade and new recessed interior; and exterior lighting throughout my home. Memo the project lead, and his team were super helpful. The suggestions Memo provided and his openness to refinements along the way helped make the overall outcome for this project even better than expected. The whole team was very supportive (and patient) with my questions and suggestions as the project progressed. Penna Electric, Todd, Denise, and Memo all exceeded my expectations. Great work for a fair price, great customer service, and a job well done!

I had high hope for this company. They sent their technician to my home right away after my inquiry. The technician were very friendly and knowledgeable as well. I was told that I would get a quote the day after. I waited former than two weeks, called multiple times and sent multiple messages through yelp, no response at all. Not sure what happened.

I sent a quote request to Penna Electric via Yelp and received a response to schedule an estimate appointment. I spoke with a lady named Jaime (JAY-Me) for a week later as their next available opening.

I was visited by Todd Penna, founder and CEO, which I greatly appreciated as it showed that the ownership is still hands on when dealing with potential customers and is more than willing to get dirty because their name is more than who they are. Todd acknowledged my need to upgrade my service panel and add a sub-panel to the garage, along with the possibility of doing a complete home rewire. Todd and I went over everything and he itemized all that was requested along with detailing what would happen such as space required for his workers, access and the possibility of opening holes in walls. After we finished he said I would receive a proposal via email that is itemized. This allowed me to see what the total cost would be for everything I wanted and pick and choose what I needed due to budget.

I called Penna Electric office and spoke with Jaime to set-up a Phase 1 proposal for only the 200 amp service and 100 amp sub-panel. A Penna Electric crew of 2 showed up on the scheduled date in the morning and after some rain shenanigans began work on the outside after installing the sub-panel and running conduit. They did enough to get the old panel out and install the new panel and neatly wire it up so we power after they finish. The same crew came back the next day to wire the sub-panel, stucco what they cut out and patch a cut-out of drywall. They also checked and labeled the panel before cleaning up and finishing for the day. They gave me a call while I was at work to report they finished. I appreciate that they were very respectful to my mother who was there to give them access and deliver final payment.

While I do not care about COVID-19 protocols, they did show up wearing mask and being respectful of social distancing.

Overall, this was my first time using Penna Electric and it will not be my last. I will definitely give Todd and his crew the work that I cant handle. Highly recommend

I installed a ceiling fan yesterday and today all my electricity went out! Called two electric companies and got voicemail... That most likely ended up being a blessing in disguise because my third attempt was a call to Penna Electric and Todd DID answer. He told me he was on the other line though with a different caller, but that he'd call me right back. I honestly thought I wouldn't hear from him again, but he called me right back and actually talked me patiently through all the potential scenarios for my blackout. I sent him photos of my ceiling fan and circuit breaker and he was able to diagnose the problem fast and and efficiently. Definitely will be using Penna for all my electrical mishaps and projects moving forward!

Penna Electric is an anomaly in the current environment. Lately, it seems that one can hardly get a call back from a repair person or contractor, let alone someone to come out and do the work. I was so grateful to find Penna Electric (thank you all you yelpers). They truly live up to their high ratings. Sean answered all my (many) questions and scheduled two great electricians to come out to do the work. The electricians showed up when they said they would and did an excellent job. I'm very happy with this company and highly recommend them.

In the past few years I've dealt with a lot of contractors and technicians - most with a negative experience, so Penna was a welcomed surprise. I gotta say, I LOVE these guys and it is the best experience we've had with a service technician in years. We called the office, got an appointment for an estimate, signed for the estimate, and they sent Guillermo our technician out today. He was running late and gave a courtesy call. Showed up, did the work (and did it well) in 15 minutes and was out the door. We will now be calling on Penna for all our electrical needs.

I just moved into a my new home recently and I went in knowing there was some work to be done. Most notably, most of my outlets were out of date and ungrounded, as was indicated by my home inspector. I called Penna Electric in August and got the work done in September.

When I called, they were straightforward about how backed up they were, but Todd came over the next day to provide an in-person quote, which not many would do, understandably, due to the pandemic. He was punctual and donned a mask at all times. This common courtesy is not what surprised me though--as he wrapped up his inspection, we had a very detailed and lengthy discussion about what he saw, and how he would tackle each issue. He never talked down and didn't push to sell me anything beyond what was very obviously wrong. This solidified my confidence in choosing Penna. We then set time with Jaime for 3 days to bring my house up-to-date.

About a month later, Guillermo and Keith show up right on schedule, and each day they were just as prompt as Todd. They conducted themselves professionally and were very personable. At the end of each day they provided me with updates. In the month between as I became more attuned to the house, I began to think beyond what was originally proposed and wanted to do a bit more, and expressed this to the team. Without a hint of hesitation or grimace, they worked in the additional things I wanted into the current project. They still managed to finish on time and on my budget. As the project completed, they also showed me their work and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves (as well as whoever did the work before them).

The Penna team truly went above and beyond my expectations. As I shopped around, they were also among the most affordable options, but only because Todd took the time to assess what I truly needed. I'm incredibly happy with the work and will absolutely recommend Penna Electric to my friends, family, neighbors, and anyone that mentions anything remotely related to electricity.

Todd had his 2 employees do the job we had agreed to
I had made some additional changes to what I originally
thought I wanted...and his workers added the extra work
as well and of course the cost was higher than agreed but I
have found over my 85 plus years that for me I soon
forget about the cost when I can see great changes to the
good...when I do not have to squint when looking for something
in the garage..when my rooms light up with bright and less expensive
electrical bills in the future.
IF you are looking for good work and meeting electrical code
this is the place. If not - certainly get the guy in the truck with the
magnetic sign..4 day beard..you get the point.

Todd came by, we had a good run through of work to be done to the house such as installing LED replacement lighting and fixtures, old switch replacements, relighting the garage, not to mention redo of garden lighting, and more. No small job this....labor and supplies right around $3 to 3 1/2K. Great guy, wife is terrific on the phone. Said he'd get back to me with figures in day to two. Never got an estimate. After not answering my calls they called me almost 2 weeks later saying they didn't want to do the job. So I lost all that time waiting on them. Heck of a way to run a business. And just so you know, I am actually a very nice guy lest you think I'm some curmudgeon that scared him off.

Penna redid my electrical panel. The professionalism and the knowledge of the staff was superb. The on site workers even took the time to check my house and we discovered some issues that a GC home inspector does not look for thus discovering the house was not grounded and whom ever redid the lighting violated electrical codes. I was really happy with Penna Electric the first time I used them, so they were my only choice when I bought my current home that needed a completely new electric panel. Jermin and Juan were here bright and early every morning and worked all day long for 3 days. They were both super respectful.

The new electrical box is labeled correctly, unlike the nightmare old box they replaced. They wired up my garage to handle charging 2 Teslas. Jermin told me what NOT to do in my kitchen if I don't want the breakers tripping due to the original wiring of the house. Basically I can easily overload certain areas where the outlets that should have been individual are shared =/.

The owner Todd comes out to give you the bids. He is very pleasant. He has given me two bids and has always been on time. He calls when he is on his way. My work cost $6,680, so certainly NOT cheap. Their phone person, Vanessa, has a lovely voice and is on top of things. I am very happy with Penna and will continue to use them in the future!

Slam dunk of a job. Exactly like the one my neighbor had done. We will never know because it seems they don't need jobs right now. Can't say how good these guys are because they don't have the back office support to keep their appointments straight. I called and they didn't have me in their system? But I spent all that time and effort giving them all my info last week only for them not to have it when I followed up with them today when nobody showed up. If their office is this messy, it's difficult to trust that the work would be any good.

Penna electric is the best!

I just moved into my new townhouse and my wife hates chandeliers (she's from Japan where earthquakes happen all the time and they don't have anything hanging from the ceiling). I decided I might as well upgrade all my lights to recessed lighting and install smart dimmers to control my lights using Google Home and Amazon Echo. I went on yelp and saw the great reviews for Penna Electric and decided to give them a call for a quote.

Todd came out to do an estimate and was very thorough at explaining every detail of the install and what I can expect. He even recommended a brand that he likes and let me tell you, they light up my house like the sun is out even during the evenings! Of course they're dimmable so that's a plus.

His team arrived on time and were very careful during the install. They asked for our input before doing anything permanent and were very tidy the whole time. They worked hard all day and the install time took less than I thought (just 1 1/2 days! ) including my vaulted ceilings in the living room!

If you want to do your (smart) lighting done right, or any kind of electric work, give Penna a call because you won't regret it~ Awesome price, great workmanship, and even better customer service!

From start to finish Penna Electric provided top notch service. Todd came over for our estimate and you can tell he has a wealth of knowledge. His team came to rewire the house, add new smoke detectors, install light fixtures and add some outlets in the garage. Everyone was super helpful, insightful and even finished a day early! Also, they are VERY respectful about wearing masks and making sure that there was electricity available for us while they worked as we are working from home during the pandemic. Nicest guys ever!

I had to change from using a gas dryer to an electric dryer (long story) and wanted to have my electric panel updated. After hours of looking for the right electrician, I found Penna and decided it would be the best company to work with. Todd Penna came out and did the inspection himself and left me felling confident that I had the right electrician! The crew came out and finished the job in two days, and completed the work faster than expected. Most important of all, when I noticed a small detail that needed to be corrected, the company sent out a crew and fixed the problem right away. We are so happy to have an electrician that we can call on for future jobs!!

Fantastic work and very professional throughout the whole process. I called many local electricians and contractors to get a quote to install recessed lighting through out the house and it amazes me how so many didn't take accurate notes during the walk through, completely got the details wrong in their quotes and took them an age to provide their numbers. Not the case with Penna. They were detailed, very responsive, polite, and the second cheapest option (some came back double the price than Penna). The team that did the work were here on time every day, were very diligent in prepping and cleaning throughout the project, and did top notch work. Every part of working with them was a big step up from my experience elsewhere.

I called Penna Electric to get a quote on running a dedicated circuit to a gate operator that was already operational but running on house juice being shared by a number of outlets and switches. It should've always been on its own circuit, but I took a shortcut five years ago and now I'm rectifying that. So what I needed to do was run this dedicated line from the far corner of the front of the house where the panel is, to the far back corner of the house and splice into the existing line. The line would need to go 57' under the house and 25' in a trench I dug out. I called several places and Penna Electric was one of the lower bids I received over the phone. Todd then came out to do a more thorough review and his knowledge and expertise were well on display. I decided to go with them.

The guys that came out were very professional and workmanlike. I showed them what I had discussed w/Todd (there were some wrinkles that I'm not going to mention because it's just too much minutia, but suffice to say they accommodated all of it) and proceeded to do an amazing and very precise job. I couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend to anyone.

I needed an electrician and based on Yelps reviews I contacted Penna Electric through Yelp. The owner Todd responded within an hour of my post. A meeting was set up; Todd was very thorough, explained the scope of work, gave me a few options and did not pressure me to use his service. A quote was emailed to me, the pricing was reasonable and I agreed to the proposal.
Every day his crew came on time and the job was completed within the time frame I was given. I am very pleased with the work done. Penna' team was prompt and worked quickly and precisely. I had four light fixtures installed and wiring for two new ceiling fans. I was told that holes would be patched but not paint ready, so I prepared myself for a lot of work, but the team only made one 3 inch hole and it was left perfectly patched! These guys are true PROFESSIONALS.

From the initial phone call to schedule a quote, Jamie was very polite & flexible.

Todd called me day of & showed up early. He was extremely knowledgeable, & clear about his plans for this project at my Mom's house.

She just needed recessed lighting in the living room and kitchen, as well as a transformer wired to power her Ring doorbell.

Todd took me step by step, explained all the possible hang ups (light spacing, existing switches and fixtures) & how they wouldn't be a problem for his crew.

When Carlos & crew showed up...My mom realized she had invited family over for dinner that night & might have to cancel her party. The crew was never aware of this & just got to work.

They placed tarps over furniture and carpets, & used trays around their tools to collect the popcorn ceiling & drywall dust. Only a few hours later: doorbell was wired, lights were up, new dimmer switches, holes were patched...& work areas were vacuumed & cleaner than when the crew arrived.

My mom was amazed at this level of courtesy & attention to detail. She had her dinner party that night & was so excited to have a well lit & inviting home. Big thank you to Penna Electric!

I was exhausted after calling several electricians in the Los Angeles area, but I thought, let's try one more outside of the city. Best decision ever!

All of the quotes I got for replacing an out-dated and not up to code electric sub-panel was $1,700+. But I called Todd and he did a great job for a fraction of the price. After searching the internet for a reliable Electric company I decided to call Penna Electric. One of the best decisions I've ever made. Todd and his team are awesome. Todd came by Friday , looked at what I wanted to get done and sent over an estimate the same day. Called him Monday and I scheduled the work to be done that same week. His team were on time and did an amazing job replacing that old dinosaur electric panel that I been trying to get rid of for the longest. The guys are very professional and they take pride in their work. Penna Electric has performed three large electrical jobs on our home over the last 5 years. In Feb 2020 (yesterday) Penna installed canned LED lights in our living room, replaced external lights and repaired or added electrical outlets inside and outside. The indoor lights completely change the feel of our living room, while the exterior lighting brightens the out door appearance and safety of the home. The external outlets enable decorative outdoor lighting. Penna's crew are master electricians and knew how to quickly upgrade ancient wiring to modern codes. They arrived on time, left the place spotless, adjusted to wiring challenges and executed to their original bid. I highly recommend Penna Electric.

If you've had trouble finding an good electrician then look no further. Penna Electric is the real deal!

After trying to get multiple home electrical problems fixed unsuccessfully with two other electrical repair services, I lucked out with Penna Electric. I got a clear explanation of how the repair charge would be determined and scheduled the appointment.

The electrician showed up on time, walked through the issues with me and proposed the fixes. Seemed perfectly logical to me, so I gave him the green light.

20 minutes later everything was fixed and the price was very reasonable.

I wish every home repair could be this easy!

Don't you just hate it when your electrician retires? Well suddenly I find myself looking for a good one. And I'm a real perfectionist. I called about 3 electricians and Todd Penna was the first to show up. The others were no shows. Great guy who knows his business. Got the work scheduled and Carlos and another great worker;whose name escapes me showed up on time. They were excellent: no mess, and even improvised on a lighting fixture so it would work. This review is long overdue. I had penna electric clean up my decades old electricity to my garage.

Bottom line. I got a fair quote within a week. He matched a $50 lower quote for the same job. His workers were at the house within a week and finished in one day. They were polite and cleaned everything. Also did some patch work where necessary.

I am glad I found Penna and will be calling them exclusively for all my future projects.

I had an entire house(2bd/1ba) rewire and electrical panel replacement/relo done by Penna Electric. Entire electrical work was done in four days.
Having seen a home years ago in the South Bay with large holes throughout the interior because of a complete house rewire, I was expecting something similar to occur in my home. Todd Penna, the owner, said I would be surprised at how small (if any) the holes would be. He was right. Some rooms did not have any damage. Those rooms that did have some wall damage were very minor. I even requested the electricians patch some holes I created myself removing two non-working doorbells and a doorbell chime and it was done for me.
I did have a few code violations in the kitchen. Honestly, I thought some of the violations were rather silly. But I did some research online and Todd was absolutely right. I needed more kitchen outlets. The additional kitchen outlets are perfect and no damage to any glass tile. Each major appliance needed its own outlet. The wire connecting the exhaust fan and the outlet were both not up to code. All kitchen electrical issues now resolved.
Of the six estimates I received, Penna Electric was the first to recommend moving the electrical panel. This never occurred to me and his reasoning made perfect sense. Todd is very meticulous, knowledgeable and not afraid to get out his notebook and take notes.
All six electricians gave 100 percent while on my property. You can tell the six electricians are personable, friendly, and can work independently as well as part of a team.
I have all new interior and exterior light fixtures; all the switches and plugs now match/coordinate throughout my home and garage; closets have new LED lights and switches (no more pull chains); two new 4 ft. garage LED lights installed and relocated. I have additional outlets in my home and some outlets were removed/relocated. I no longer need five power strips and two extension cords. And I now have two exterior plugs in front and rear of home. Yay!
Honestly, this feels like a totally different home inside and out and I couldn't be more pleased. Todd's experience, knowledge of the business and quick turnaround with the proposal was delivered when promised. It was my fault that the proposal had to be revised when, after speaking to my insurance company, I was advised to do the house rewiring work along with electrical panel replacement/move.
Yes, there were a few hiccups here and there, but, overall, it was a job well done.

Todd of Penna Electric was incredibly knowledgable and helpful!
My handyman had cut some corners, and I ended up with an Air Conditioner that wouldn't work. I wanted to understand what had happened, and Todd was patient enough to explain to me why one cord worked and one didn't, how a 20 amp receptacle is different than a 30 amp receptacle, and exactly what needs to be done to fix the problems. Now I'm on the road to enjoying my air conditioning, thanks to Penna Electric!

We just got our electrical repairs done by Penna Electric and everyone was super friendly and very professional. Todd, the owner, came out and did a walk through to assess what needed to be fixed and gave us a couple of options that worked for our budget. He gave us lots of valuable info and tips which we greatly appreciated!

We decided on updating out panel, adding a surge protector and one dedicated circuit and Todd had his electricians Carlos and Jesse come out to the house the following week. Carlos and Jesse were awesome! Super quick, professional and very courteous. They even helped make repairs on the fence surrounding the electrical box which was so nice of them to go above and beyond the job at hand. My husband and I couldn't have been happier. We will come back to Penna Electric for all our electrical needs.

The only experience I've had with Penna is when they answered the phone, and said they'd call me back to set up an appointment. That was about 3 weeks ago, still no call, and no response to additional requests I've made to contact them. I don't get it, just say you don't have time, or some kind of RESPONSE would be nice.

Penna Electric did a great job installing an atttic fan and bathroom exhaust fan. They even pointed out and fixed a problem left by another electrician. Todd and his team were professional and did quality work. I was impressed by how clean they left the job. They covered the floor and taped painter's plastic on walls and mirrors to minimize dust. Prices were reasonable. All of the great reviews are well deserved. I would definitely hire them again.

These guys are the best. I've lived in this home for 48 years and hired a lot of contractors. I called for an estimate on 3 jobs. The owner showed up and explained the process it would take to meet my needs and be up to code. The bid seemed very reasonable. A few days later two contractors showed up and did a wonderful job. Their attention to details was amazing. They worked for several hours and I couldn't be happier.

They installed brand new recessed led lights in the house and every room looks beautiful!!! They have great electricians, because we had all kinds of electrical issues in the house, and they fixed all of that too. Prior to this amazing upgrade, there were no lights in our bedroom and living room ceilings. And there were cheap ugly 1980's lights in the bathrooms, hallway, and living room. They removed all that, patched all the holes, added new lights and it's great. Thanks guys!

Penna Electric did an awesome job on a very large, complicated & challenging job. I oversee a 60-unit apartment building in Torrance, & we needed to replace outdated electrical panels in nearly every unit -- plus several more around the property. Penna Electric finished job on budget, as quickly as was reasonably possible over the year-end holidays and in the midst of a pandemic. What's more, their work is impeccable, and we got so many compliments about their friendliness and professionalism that I'm surprised their ears aren't permanently singed. In addition to getting tenants to trust letting them into their units, the Penna guys had to convince every tenant to let them shut off their electricity for half a day -- just as parents were working from home & kids were doing school from their bedrooms. Some of the work also required rewiring badly or dangerously done previous jobs, sometimes across multiple units. Owner Todd Penna was communicative and available throughout the roughly 1-month process. I'd interviewed multiple electrical contractors, & selected Penna based on Todd straightforward manner, stellar reviews & midrange pricing -- not the cheapest, but certainly not the most expensive. If they did plumbing or babysitting, I'd definitely hire them for that, too. Highly recommended!

Todd and his team have a great attitude and do an excellent job. We needed several 3-way dimmers installed, and he came out to size up the job two days before Thanksgiving (when we had a big party scheduled). While he was as it, he fixed the one switch I had messed up on my own, no charge.

While it seemed like we would have to wait for an opening after Thanksgiving, he called when he had an unexpected hole in his schedule the next day, picked up the parts from his wholesaler, and came out to do the work immediately. Incredible service from a terrific team--their dimmer installation made our Thanksgiving party a lot more special. AND he gave us a 10% Yelp discount on service!

We took quotes from a handful of vendors on our recessed lighting job and Penna Electric came out on top in both price and presentation. Todd came out in the early evening (I'm sure it was his last stop of the day) and gave my wife and I a detailed estimate, as well as some much-needed advice on configuration. Scheduling was easy, and once the guys were here, installation was quick and the access points were small and precise. We had approx. 20 lights installed, as well as 2 exhaust fan/light combos in the bathrooms and the whole job took less than 2 days. Penna Electric was a breeze to work with, quick to come out one more time for some final adjustments, and billed us exactly what we were quoted. I hired Penna Electric to install a new sub panel box and 5 new circuits to our old house in Hermosa. We were constantly tripping breakers when more than one appliance was running at the same time. Penna Electric came out and listened to me explain the problem. I mean really listened. He was very patient and understanding as I am no electrician. WOW! TODD IS SIMPLY AMAZING!

this morning, a circuit blew in our condo and the whole power to our kitchen went out...fridge, dishwasher, oven and everything. i could smell the smoke from the burnt circuit.

i tried looking on yelp and see if any electricians were available... called Penna Electric and TODD SHOWED UP IN 5 MINS!

at first he was going to take a look at the issue and give me an estimate...then eventually just fixed the issue for me!

Todd is really knowledgable and knew what the issue was right away and fixed it in less than 10 mins!

We bought a house that was supposedly fully updated on most of the electrical wiring. Upon further inspection, we found out a lot of the wiring was ungrounded and some of the outlets are malfunctioning. We reached out to Penna Electric for a quote to update all the electrical wiring and use the opportunity to add a ton of outlets to our home.

The team sent out to our house did an amazing job, and we made some requests in the middle of their work, such as adding or modifying even more outlets, and they obliged immediately with no impact to schedule. All of the old wiring was removed, replaced, and correctly done with a cleaner layout.

Super happy with the results and feel much safer in the home with proper wiring.

We re-wired our entire home and updated our electrical panel with Penna Electric. This is a BIG job...and especially so because our house in on a concrete slab, so all the new wiring had to be strung through the attic and pulled down into the walls.

Todd gave us a very fair price and kept us in the loop as the job progressed. He has a very knowledgeable and friendly team of electricians that work for him. They did a professional job, courtesy patched all the holes, and cleaned up after themselves.

The job took a little longer than expected, but this was because Todd wanted things done properly...this even meant throwing in a few things for free that weren't part of the original quote.

Tried Penna a second time, they (admin/assistant) called the day before the work was planned and indicated they didn't have the right wiring. I took the day off from work for this! We re-schedule for a second appointment when the wiring would be available...a day before the second appointment comes around I'm called (by owner) and told that the estimate didn't include cost for wiring - even though the estimate on the second home (exactly the same job) was $100 more than the first job. I took a second day off work for these idiots! Get your shit together. Penna will never get a call from me EVER again!!!!! Incredibly incompetent assistant and owner. Beware. You've been warned.

We didn't use Penna Electric for our hot tub installation, as we ended up going with a bundled install for the hot tub, but my experience with Penna Electric was nothing but top notch. Todd showed up precisely on time, and made complete and accurate measurements. We discussed various options for running the line, and he gave us a bid that fully explained the work, what was needed, and what would be done.

I couldn't recommend them enough, and the next time we have an electrical issue they will be the first people we call!

My husband and I have had Penna Electric come out several times just because we love them so much. We had all our light fixtures replaced, vanity's replaced and all the light switches replaced. We selected Penna Electric based on their stellar record/reviews on Yelp. Todd came out to give us a quote and was very knowledgeable about what we wanted to do. We ended up installing 14 recessed lights, hung a chandelier, changed out numerous trims on existing recessed lights and added a few dimmers. Our 1960's era home has a flat roof but that presented no challenge to the Penna Electric crew. On the first day a crew of three (Carmelo, Eric and Fabian) came out to start the work. They were all knowledgeable, professional, hardworking and really exemplified what one would expect from a quality company. Work extended to a second day with (Carmelo and Fabian) finishing up the job. Todd came by to ensure that all was well which I felt was a nice personal touch. The crew was a pleasure to work with.

Penna Electric is the only call you need to make if you're looking for electrical work to be done in your home or business. After having numerous electricians leave jobs half-done or being unreliable, I wasn't expecting much from Penna. I am happy to say I couldn't have been more wrong!

I called the office, unsure if what I even needed done as so many electricians had left the place in shambles, and Todd was able to quickly fit me in and was a pleasure on the phone. Jermin arrived to do the electrical work, and did FAR beyond what I could have imagined. He went above and beyond, and the job was much more complex than I originally had projected. He stayed hours beyond the scheduled call time to be sure to complete the job, and was friendly and helpful throughout the process.

Due to the complete mess that had been made by other electricians, a problem came up with a light switch controlling a different light. I called Todd at 5 pm on a weekday evening and told him about the problem, and he was there by 5:30 pm to personally fix the problem. I can't imagine any other electrician being so thorough and helpful.

We just had a chandelier and bathroom light fixture installed by Penna Electric, and the work was great. Two electricians arrived for the job, they were prompt, polite and easy to work with. The job wasn't the easiest in the world as we have a vaulted ceiling with no existing wiring. Fortunately it was no problem for these guys, and they did a great job.

A former project had been left unfinished and I called Penna to get a quote. Within minutes of discussing the job with Todd I knew I just needed to have his team do the work. I would give 0 stars if I could. We had done business with Penna before which we had such good luck but this time, the three or four phone numbers on various internet sites all went straight to voicemail - left several messages to schedule appointment but never for a call back. Finally used the Internet form on their website to get an email back. After agreeing to a mutual appointment time and date, no one showed up. We waited for an hour but not a phone call or email. Left messages to follow up on the voicemail prompt and emailed to inquire - a reply was sent after 2 hours stating that Todd has something come up. But i received an email from Penna that was supposed to go to another person scheduling for same time as my appointment after we received confirmation. We had to take time off work and our real estate agent as well. We didn't even get a phone call message back until an hour after the appointment stating they can't come and want to reschedule. This has been such a bad experience. I haven't even spoken to a live person through this entire process. Use Penna at your own risk!!!

Penna Electric is hands down the only way to go. Form the second I met Todd, it was love at first sight. He came to give me an estimate and was very kind and knowledgeable. He told me what I needed to do to get my old house up to code. Also, we were doing a kitchen remodel and Todd had better ideas than the three previous electricians. He has been doing this for a long time and knows exactly what needs to be done. I was very pleased with meeting him and talking with him.

When the work started, he made sure that his guys did exactly what I wanted. We were doing a kitchen remodel and he made our kitchen look absolutely beautiful with the various lights they installed. On top of that, they looked at existing lights that were installed and wired incorrectly and was more than happy to fix them, so that I would not have a house fire. All of the employees were very kind and easy to work with.

The day I was having my cabinets installed, I asked Todd exactly where he needed his low voltage wires to run through the cabinets. The cabinet installers did not understand, because of a language barrier, however, Todd stopped what he was doing to come over and show them what he needed. The cabinet installers were very challenging to work with and were unwilling to drill a hole where Todd requested. So, Todd (the owner and on a Saturday), took over. He cut the drywall where it needed to be cut, drilled the holes and made sure his wires were where they needed to be. Even after the cabinet installers were yelling at him, he made sure that the job was going to be done the correct way. He took time out of his SATURDAY to come to my house and do the physical labor himself. To me, that speaks volume. He truly has the customers best interest at heart and is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that the work gets done correctly the first time.

Penna is a very professional company that is easy to work with. Every experience I have had with them have been more than pleasant. The entire staff was kind and willing to go above and beyond for the customer. I am so glad that I decided to work with Todd and his guys for my kitchen remodel. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone looking to have electrical work done. Everything was done professionally and up to code. WAY TO GO PENNA...you guys are awesome.

Had Penna Electric install LED Lights replacing my old cans in my home office. They chose very good LEDs that do not flicker at low dim settings and kept the warm look of the old cans. Just want to give a long overdue shout-out to Penna Electric for a job they did for me last year and again for a job they did for me a couple of weeks ago.

Last year I needed to replace the electrical service panel at my home. I contacted 6 electrical contractors to get an estimate for the work. Of the six, 4 showed up to look at the proposed job. Of these 4 only Todd Penna, the founder and CEO of Penna Electric, gave me a written quote-and that was given to me at the conclusion of the job survey. Further, Todd explained fully all of what the job entailed and the time it would take to complete the job. Additionally, Todd did something the other contractors did not do. He showed me a binder that had documentation showing that his licensing and insurance was current. After reading Yelp reviews of Penna Electric it was a no-brainer selecting them to do the job. That job was started and completed on time. Sergio was very professional and did the work efficiently, respected my property and cleaned up at the end of the day. I was fully satisfied with the job Penn Electric did.

So when it came to adding a couple of new dedicated circuits to my home a couple of weeks ago, I didn't think twice about who to call. My first and only call was to Penna Electric. Linda was great at setting up an appointment for Todd to come by and do a job survey. When Todd came by he told me what my options were for adding the new circuits and upgrading 3 receptacles to GFCI protected. Before Todd left he gave me a written quote and an itemized list of required materials for the job. I soon received a call from Linda giving me the date that the job could begin. Guillermo was the electrician who did the actual work and he was very friendly, professional and neat. The job was done to my complete satisfaction.

I have mixed feeling of my experience with Penna Electric.
First impression of this company was good, because of Amanda's cheerful and helpful correspondence, and estimate of $385 for new installment for two outlet and other work. ( I wanted increased the amount of electricity I get in my bathroom so I can use my hair dryer) I was told that each outlet installment is about $100+ ( forgot exact amount) times two, and other work for about $150+ and total was $385.
But my appointment was canceled day before :-( It was't cool because I opened my busy schedule for that appointment so I can stay at home. my appointment was rescheduled to 2week ahead...the guy answered my call said that he is sure something will come up earlier than that so he'll have Amanda call me, so I made an appt two weeks ahead.
as I thought, no body called me so I called them to check if something came up. Amanda told me that they have opening this afternoon! I was happened to be off that day so I took that appt. I was told that tech will be in my place between 1-3pm.
Tech came around 2:40pm. He was a neat, professional, and nice guy! After he checked the site, he gave me an estimate of $500 ( $250 for each outlet installation, since we found out that the other work that I originally estimated for $150, is not necessary). I told him that original estimate Amanda gave me was $380ish for all together, then he went outside to speak with company on the phone, came back to tell me that they will do it for $385.
wait a min... wasn't each installment $100+ each? if we don't do the other work then $150+ should be deduct from $385? the estimate he gave me doesn't quite make sense to me. I wasn't happy about what I heard and became little suspicious how Pinna Electric runs their business......but since tech was at my place, so am I, everything was ready to go, I didn't wanna go through this all over, and the fact I don't have to pay more than what I expected, I agreed to pay.
I was satisfied with his work :-) he was efficient and hardworking. I impressed the fact that he didn't forgot to clean up the mess he made while he is making a hole on the drywall.

so having said that , my overall experience with Penna Electric is OK.
It would have been 5 star Excellent if
#1. my appt wan't cancel at the beginning,
#2. they did the work accordingly their first estimate, which should be $200ish for installation of two outlet since I didn't order the other work.

I always do between 3 and 5 quotes for any work I do. I did 3 quotes for this specific job; replacing a vent in my bathroom. I had 3 quotes: $385, $385 and $450. I went with the $385 from Penna Electric based on Yelp Reviews

Amanda, the Office Manager had given me the quote based on my instructions, which were detailed, as I am a licensed engineer in the state of California.

After the initial quote, she confirms the price, and the replacement unit for installation:
We have recommend 2 different Panasonic exhaust only fans.
The first one is recommended for standard 6x8ft bathrooms
Model number FV08VQ3 has a CFM of 80 and the sones are .3 this is the one I quoted you for $385.00 for a swap out......

The Initial Quote said as follows:
Per our conversation to swap out your exhaust only fan in your bathroom will be $385 including a super quiet Panasonic Exhaust fan. As of now our lead time is about 1 week out. Please feeel free to call or email to schedule.

So I scheduled this. They then came out and decided to re-quote the work, and changed the quote to $595. Considering the quote I had via email constituted a binding contract, I requested that the guy call and verify, because I was unwilling to do it for the increased price. He was called back, and told the guy it would be a 3-4 hour job because he didn't have a part. The person offered me to talk to the owner as well.

I refused, and they offered me $20 cash card in apology, which I refused & showed them the door.

The next day I was able to have the same job done in 60 minutes at the same price ($385).

I apreciate the effort made to make this right. The job is already completed by another company.

On time and fun to be around. Shai took care of business. He took the time to make sure the job was done right. He manages other workers and works hard himself too. There was a minor mistake made after some miscommunication which caused some minor damage, but shai did not complain about having to fix it. In fact he paid to repair the problem and made sure everything was right as soon as possible. I commend his integrity. Many contractors would place blame on others and not admit to having made a mistake, not to mention paying for it out of their own pocket. I thank shai and ASI electric for running an honest business and making sure the customer comes first.

I had a problem with a ceiling light that was going on and off, I did not know if the problem was the fan, or an electrical problem. Although I really thought the problem was electrical, Todd advised that I purchase a replacement fan in case the fan was the problem. Sure enough, it was the fan, I am glad he suggested the purchase before the appointment, gave me time to find the right one I wanted, and not scrambling to find one at the last minute during the repair.

Even though I was given a window of time for the appointment, they arrived just minutes within the beginning of the time frame. The gentleman was friendly and knowledgeable, and even helped me verify something I asked him about another ceiling fan in another room, and he took the time to open it up to verify for me, and gave me suggestions on what I can do if I don't want to replace the entire fan. Some people would just not care, or charge you more, so I appreciate the little extra help that took him only a few minutes to help me with.

Based on my experience, I would definitely recommend and use them again if or when I have another electrical problem.

Penna did a great job adding an electric outlet and some lights in my mother's house. She initially got an estimate from another contractor but the cost was quiet high so I found Penna on Yelp and gave them a call. Amanda was very friendly and helpful on the phone. She gave me an estimate and was able to have a worker come out the same day to do the work. They did the work for less than the estimate. Very professional and honest. I wouldn't hesitate using them again for another project.

I too had an appointment with Penna Electric. As the date approached, the called me and said the quote was no longer valid and that it will now cost more. Really? I have never heard of such bait n switch tactic. I found someone else to do the job for nearly the same price with excellent results. I don't recommend using them and they have lost me as a customer for life.

Todd is a knowledgeable guy. He came to install recessed lights for our bedrooms which have sloped ceilings. He and his crew did a great job on the installation/patching up his work, and be careful around the home. Nice and polite guy. His rate is also fair. I recommend him.

They did the installation of my 240v outlet in the cleanest way possible, which I hadn't even considered, and Todd came by to make sure the work was done properly. I am very impressed with the service I received from Penna, specifically from the owner Todd. I called to get an estimate on installing a ceiling fixture in my office (I gave up after shocking myself 10 times), Todd quoted me an hourly rate which was a great price but not what I was willing to pay to install one light. So instead of charging me to send someone out, Todd assisted me over the phone and walked me through the installation. Todd's assistance amazed me, that kind of service towards someone who is not a customer is unheard of. Now that i know the character of their owner I will refer anyone in need of an electrician to them and will definitely use them in the future.

Todd is highly recommended. He's honest and thorough, diagnoses and corrects the problem quickly, and his rates are fair. Called him up from work, after reading reviews on Yelp, to see if he could investigate a power outtage affecting a portion of my house. He gave me a detailed assessment of his investigation and the necessary repairs, then performed the work in a very timely manner. Although I was at work and never actually met Todd, I felt very comfortable allowing him access to my house and would not hesitate to call him again for future work.

Thanks again Yelp. Had a collection of smaller electrical issues I needed handled based on a home inspection. Appointment was booked and they made sure they had the right equipment the first time by speaking to me in advance and getting photos before arriving (i.e., no charges for parts runs). All work was completed quickly, and they were definitely not trying to troll for extra charges like some places do (the pointed out some work that did NOT need to be done and could have easily just done it and charged more).

Penna did the 50A install for my air conditioning system. They had to cut concrete to find an existing power run, untangle some unexpected complexity (it is never simple), and run conduit along the base of a wall across my patio. Final job turned out great and within the bid. The missing star is due to some technical uncertainty about how to run conduit along the ground, which could have resulted in a run higher up on the wall - a less desirable solution. Fortunately, one of the guys knew of the required conduit spec (not commonly used) and the job turned out great! I definitely recommend them.

I cannot recommend these guys enough. We were in a bind with out washer/dryer overloading and Todd troubleshot the problem precisely within seconds and explained everything very thoroughly. The work was completed next day and Todd even did a followup which was great. Very personable and definitely one of the good guys in the South Bay. He takes the time breaks down answers any questions which is perfect for someone who has no knowledge of electrical like myself. Would recommend to my friends and family in a heartbeat.

I have had nothing but excellent customer support and service from Penna. Always fast to respond, quick to schedule, and excel in everything they have installed. We have used them to fix dead outlets, replace bathroom fans, and most recently replace all of our recessed lighting (about 60 bulbs) into LED, which has saved us close to $75/month in electricity bills. Todd and his crew are fantastic, and I highly recommend them. They are our go-to electricians.

After some initial problems with appointment coordination and the business cancelling an already set--up appointment one day in advance, the electrician, Sergio, showed up as promised on the second attempt. He made a very positive and respectful impression, and was able to locate and fix the problem in a reasonable time frame. All in all a positive experience.

The main circuit breaker at our business was tripping several time during the day. In the mean time I called Penna Electric explained the situation. He came just after the shop closed and diagnosed the problem. He stayed about an hour to make sure the problem was actually the main breaker and not something else. After explaining the possibilities, I chose to have him replace the breaker. This was not just a small item. Looking on the internet, a new one would cost around $500 and may have to be special ordered. The next day, we continued working but shut off whatever we could to lighten the electrical load. The breaker tripped a few times. About the second time it tripped I called Todd to find out his progress. Much to my relief, he said he found a re-furbished one and more importantly, one that we could get right away.
After tripping a few more times, I called Todd again telling him the situation. I also wanted to get a status of when he could replace the breaker. He said he was on his way to pick up the breaker and that he would come back in the afternoon to replace it. In the mean time, we had to shut down early but not before shipping what we needed to.
Todd returned just about an hour after we closed up shop. He removed the old box and upon inspection, we had the confirmation that it was the culprit. There were burn marks on the bracket. It took about an hour to replace the box - he made sure that all his connections were tight. Once the new box was install, we were back in business. We were only down for an hour. I did call another electrician but he said it would take him at least a day to get the box. He also said that the box wasn't cheap.
Overall, experience with Penna Electric was good. Thanks for responding to my emergency and keeping us running.

Sergio came out the same day to install two bathroom vanity light fixtures and did a great job. He arrived on time, was courteous, and successfully installed the lights. They also honored the $98 for $125 deal, which was a great deal! And Vivian who answers the phone is very well organized and helpful. Very happy with their services and would recommend.

Found Penna on Yelp and Todd was over the next day to give an estimate. Vivian called within an hour after he left to schedule an appointment that worked with my schedule. The guys came over this morning right on time, worked efficiently and did a great job. We are new to the area and we're not happy with the electrician who works with a contractor we used for some remodeling. I normally would ask a friend for a referral but i barely know anybody yet so I trusted the Yelp reviews. Glad I did. Penna will be our go-to next time we need an electrician.

The back half of my house lost electricty. I called Penna Electric this morning and this evening my house is back up and running. I really appreciated Todd calling to give me their ETA and then he himself showed up as his guys got stuck on a job. Not only did he fix my electricity problem but he also prevented my house from possibly catching fire as there were live wires resting on my roof. I now have a good reliable electrician; such a relief.

Just had Mr. Penna out to install a 220 outlet we didn't realize was missing (long story). He was able to provide a fair estimate and was able to get out the same day to do the work. He inspected the wiring found that it would in fact be cheaper then he quoted and was finished in about 45 minutes. Needless to say we'll be using him in the future.

I contacted Penna Electric based on very favorable Yelp ratings. Todd came out and we discussed what LED lighting should be placed in each room and he provided a very reasonable quote. Jermin and Todd performed outstanding work and even recommended changing the dining room lighting while work was in progress. This recommendation came out wonderful! I would highly recommend Todd and his people for electrical work on all home remodeling and electrical jobs! I will be contacting him for more work such as under the cabinet lighting in the kitchen, since he did terrific work on all recessed lighting throughout the home!

We moved into the Palos Verdes neighborhood recently and wanted to use a local electrician. We found Penna Electric on Yelp and it had great reviews, so we thought we'd give it a try. WOW! we hit the jackpot! Every step of the way was smooth, professional and perfectly executed. Amanda answered the phone with such a friendly, positive manner. Todd then came out to give us our estimate and was helpful and knowledgeable - very nice and professional. Herman and his helper, Tomas, arrived a few days later for the installation. They arrived on time and had the best attitude, and were super intelligent. Herman was determined to do the installation as best he could and wanted to install the wiring through a super thick beam, instead of using an exposed casing, as all the other electricians (who gave us estimates) had said would need to be done, given the thickness of the beam. They used lasers to balance and center, and then they cleaned up every possible piece of dust. They also installed a hanging pendulum lamp in our dining room. They did a beautiful job all the way around! Thank you, Todd and your team at Penna Electric!

I called Todd today because light in my restroom broke. When I spoke to Todd he quickly contacted his people and sent someone to help me out right away. Within 2 hrs my light fixture was replaced and fixed. The guy cleaned up after his work. I can not believe Todd's company is so efficient especially it was Friday afternoon after lunch time when everyone else was getting out ready for their weekend. I really appreciated their help. Todd and Penna Electric just finished installing a Electric Vehicle Charging station in my garage and a few wall sconces in my daughter's room. Even though my original appointment was on Friday and Todd called me to reschedule (because he was stuck on another job), he made it up to me by completing the work on a Sunday! He and his guy (Lorenzo) are very nice guys and were prompt and knowledgeable.. They even put plastic down to keep the areas clean. They completed the work as planned and Todd's pricing is very reasonable. I highly recommend them and will be using Penna Electric again with some repairs in my offices.

We are completely satisfied with the work Penna Electric did at our house. After getting a couple of quotes, we felt Todd's estimate was the most honest and reasonable. Estimates from some of the other electricians included a price range for some of the work which seemed to open the door for cost creep. Once we decided to go with Penna Electric, the work started quickly and was completed quickly. We now have a new, upgraded service panel, a new dedicated line for the kitchen, a couple extra outlets in the living room and new decorative lighting on the outside of the garage. I highly recommend Penna Electric and would hire them again.

We have had 4 outstanding experiences with Penna Electric. Both Todd and Jerman are experts and go above and beyond. And not to mention, their customer service is incredible. We recently moved into a new house and had remodeled our bathrooms and kitchen. We needed new light fixtures installed in many of those rooms. Jeman installed 2 pendant lights above our island, a chandelier in our breakfast nook, a lantern in our hallway and 2 light fixtures above the vanities in our bathroom. They all were done perfectly. We asked if they could install a new central vac outlet for us as well. They said they don't normally do this, but they researched how to do it and it also was done perfectly. The most recent visit was truly an example of going above and beyond. The power went out close to 8pm one evening. We didn't know what the cause was. Before we could even determine that it was a neighborhood power outage, Todd was over to check everything. Knowing that there is someone out there with our best interest in mind and someone we can rely on in an emergency, is worth 5 stars in itself!

I highly recommend them for their expertise, honesty, reliability and customer service.

I am extremely impressed with Penna Electric and will always use them for my electrical work. Todd and Jerman are both very knowledgeable, efficient, and accomodating. I had them install recessed lighting in my kitchen and bedrooms. I didn't think it would be as easy as it was since the first two electricians I got a quote from acted lke it was going to be quite the project. Todd assured me it wasn't complicated at all and got it done in a snap. Such a great experience. On top of that, Todd's prices are very reasonable. It is so nice to have an electrician that knows exactly what he's doing and doesn't take advantage by overcharging. I have already recommended Penna Electric to my neighbor and my friends. Everyone should use them!

I bought an older house that needed a new service panel and additional circuits for a kitchen remodel and install grounded outlets throughout the house. I was very apprehensive in getting the work done because I knew it may cost a lot...especially since I was on a budget. Penna Electric came out and they were able to provide a solution that fit my budget. Other companies were recommending me to replace all my electrical wiring and that would cost $18k plus, which was not an option. They did all the work in a couple of days. After the work was done the city inspector came out to review the job and there was an issue/questions about the work. But Penna Electric was there to take care of the inspector's questions, which in the end there was no issue. The inspector just wanted someone to walk him through the work that was done. I would highly recommend them for any type of electrical work,

My experience of Penna Electric was pretty unusual. I had a friend helping me out to change the kitchen outlet to a double gfci outlet and he was stuck, not able to figure it out as simply as he thought. He left the house to get some fresh air and take a break before he tried it again. While going down the street my friend saw Todd had been working on another job and he approach him and asked him if he could be of assistance and tell him how to switch them out properly. Todd was friendly enough to pop over after he completed what he was doing. He explain what my friend was overlooking and what needed to be done. My friend still a little confused, Todd was generous enough to jump in and quickly switch them out while explaining the process of what he was doing. I really appreciated him taking his time out to do that and share not only his knowledge, his skill. I could tell by the way he was talking and his actions he took pride in his work and worked from a place of integrity. After he was complete my friend asked how much we owed him and he said don't worry about. In my experience this was a beautiful act of service.
