Our microwave kept tripping our breaker.  I left a voicemail regarding the repair and Mike Trumbley returned my call almost immediately and walked me through the process of checking to see if my issue was in fact electrical because he did not want me to pay the $300+ weekend fee for his visit.  It ended up being the microwave and not electrical.  Thank you so much Mike for your kindness and help!  I really appreciate  integrity!

Rarely do I leave a five star rating on anything however my experience with this company certainly deserves it. We needed to install a 220/240 volt outlet in the garage for electric vehicle charging. After receiving several bids which were literally all over the map, I felt comfortable hiring Aleco to proceed with the installation.

Technicians Damien Cruz and Elias Rodriquez showed up on time and proceeded to determine what exactly needed to be done and went right to work. The job was ponderous however I could tell that this wasn't their first rodeo and that they had everything well under control.

At every juncture they kept me apprised of what they were doing and made recommendations that they thought were appropriate which I very much appreciated, as with electrical - safety is always the primary concern.

Not only was the cost competative, at the completion when I plugged in - everything worked perfectly. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking to install a Level Two electric vehicle charging station at home or any other electrical job they might need. Thanks Aleco for your terrific work.

Thank you Chris! My grandpa was so thankful for the help you gave him with his electrical issue that he made me write this review LOL. The outlets on an entire wall in the kitchen weren't working and we suspected it had to do with some wiring which Aleco confirmed but because it was a more complicated issue that they weren't prepared to do, they suggested we call our electrical serve provider instead. And the best part was they didn't even charge us for the diagnoses while I bet other electricians wouldn't have hesitated to take advantage of my grandpa and charge over $200 for pretty much showing up and checking things out.

Their kindness does not go unnoticed!

I am so pleased to have an opportunity to write a review for Aleco Electric.  Jayson came as scheduled today and what a great guy!  He was very professional, courteous and communicative.  He was able to fix my issue and since he was here I asked him to look at something else.  He sent me a quote to my email in less than a half hour.

I will definitely will have Jayson return in the near future to fix the electrical issue in my sheds.

Keep up the good work and thank you again!

BEWARE! My parents received a call from an Aleco manager named 'Tony' who told them IF THEY REMOVED the NEGATIVE YELP REVIEW - ALECO WOULD RETURN THEIR MONEY !!!
On behalf of my elderly parents and the awful experience they had with Aleco last week I posted a yelp review.  Aleco Jorge Valledares tried to insinuate their home would burn down if they didn't replace all electrical outlets asap. He wanted $7500 to replace every outlet in their home and $785 to repair one outlet!
Their home is in immaculate repair and it cost only $200 for a reputable electrician to FULLY inspect their ENTIRE home and fix One faulty outlet.
The audacity of Aleco to call them today and pressure them to retract the review ( that I placed) in return for their money back is unprofessional and possibly illegal ( according to yelp guidelines). I leave it to yelp to decide and happy to speak and give the full awful story.

I used Aleco Electric several years ago to install a heater and to rewire the house, on one of our properties.   I also had 3 other properties rewired as well.  On the first house that was rewired, we were having problems getting the outside lights and a new doorbell to function.  This was after the old lights and doorbell were disconnected, while the house was being stuccoed.  I called Aleco Electric. They came out under warranty and performed work so that all of the lights functioned as well as the new doorbell.  They were polite, professional, timely, and very accurate with their work.  They came out after the original work was done 6 years previous.  I highly recommend them.

Elias Rodriguez and Damian Cruz did an outstanding job installing new recessed lights in our home. Very pleased with the advice they gave us, and the work they did. They were prompt and completed the job in the amount of time estimated. We will definitely call on them in the future. Excellent job -- very happy!

I am very disappointment on their work. The guy that came was very nice but he didn't do anything. So they charge 299 after 5pm  and then 67 for half and hour and minimum 1 hour so I payed 437 but all he did was try to locate where the problem was. he didn't even take out any outlets or checked anything he just looked. And said the problem might be up in the attic with the collections there that he can't go there and that was after 15 minutes of just looking. And charged us 437 for that. Absolutely insane ! I wouldn't recommend this electrician to anyone ! A waste of time! And money! And now I still have to figure out why I don't have electricity in my living room.
They never clarified on the phone anything so I assume they would fix it or not charge me if they can't. So that was my bab but still HE didn't do anything !

SAVED ME $500-$1,000
I had an idea of installing an outlet in my garage. Mike can to look and suggested a way to do it that saved me a lot of money and time. I had an estimate from another company but, being retired and aware these are times of inflation, I realize it helps to get a second opinion. Mike was more concerned about me than making a sale so you can believe if I EVER need an electrician I'm gonna call ALECO and ask specifically for Mike.

I received a visit from Aleco Electric for an estimate for all new smoke detectors.  George V. was great!  Very friendly, professional and explained clearly everything I needed to know.  I am all set for installation and am thinking of the next electrical job I have in mind.  Everyone from the first phone call was intended for good customer service.
Thank you, Roxanne S.

Aleco redid the electricity for the pre-war building I live in SF about two years ago. I was having issues with one side of the apartment (the outlets were not working) and the doorbell wasn't ringing. Armando came by to check everything out and was so professional. He tested the GFI and it turns out I didn't quite push the reset button all the way. I felt so embarrassed that it was something so simple and he let me know that it required a screwdriver to depress. That solved the electric issue. He also redid the wiring on the doorbell box and it worked again. He was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I appreciate that Aleco guarantees their work and would recommend them for any electrical needs.

I  wanted a large, heavy chandelier re-hung in my entryway.  It was difficult to find an electrician willing to take the job because it required scaffolding and 2-3 guys to lift the chandelier.  Aleco took the job.
When the Aleco electricians were finished, there were a couple issues I had with the chandelier:  mainly, it was hung too high.  The Aleco customer service representative later scheduled a new crew to come out and correct the problem.  They did a good job, and made sure I was satisfied with the height of the chandelier before finishing the job.

We first did business with Aleeco a few years ago when they rewired our house.  They did a great job for us.  Last year we did additional electrical work and they came back and did an excellent job on that project.  Today, I needed warranty work done and they came right out to take care of the issue.  George V. Was assigned to take care of the work for us.  George had a can do attitude, explained the problem and was extremely helpful.  It's because of electricians like George V. That we stay with Aleeco.  Aleeco is a first rate company and has a true commitment to customer service.  They treat their returning customers well and take care of warranty work in an expedited manner.  I would recommend Aleeco to anyone seeking electrical work!

I wanted to leave a quick review about my service today.  I found this company in the Home Magazine and they offered a free quote for the work.  I gave them a call and they made the appointment and showed up on time. The gentleman was so nice I told him what the issue was.  He took a look and turned out that the outlets were working fine and I had no issue.  I was so embarrassed that he made the trip for nothing and he laughed.  I got to speaking to him about some other work I wanted done.  He provided me a fair quote and made recommendations.  I thinking wow, where did this company come from.  All the other companies were charging just to visit.  Yeah, I will be doing business with this company for all of my electrical needs.  The keys to a great company.

1. Showing up on time.
2. Not charging you for something that is not needed.
3. Making recommendations that make sense.  This guy made suggestions that would save me money over the long run.
4. Flexible, The products that I want installed in my home he told me what to look for and told me that I can send him a picture.

Love service like this.

I wish there is like a zero rating cause that's even more than what this company deserves. First. They had worst customer service experience ever. They hang up the line on me just because I'm trying to negotiate the price. Please do yourself a favour and don't even bother calling them to hire. They will probably do you harm than good. 2nd, they increase the price on me when I tried to revise the job. There is no transparency so they likely will be taking an advantage of you.

Being a professional property manager, it is my responsibility to make sure we get the best work for the best price. I called Aleco Electric for an estimate on replacing our LED parking lot lights and defective timer. We're in a complex of six buildings and this is no small task. I was contacted back promptly by Tony who scheduled to come out the very next day.

Tony arrived early in a clean service truck, the company name and license number on the vehicle. We discussed the issue and I could tell right away that he is very knowledgable and honest. He gathered the information he needed to provide me with an accurate estimate. I found him to be polite, professional and friendly. I look forward to working with this company now and in the future.

Emailed the address given. No response. Messaged them 8 days later to follow up, no apology for dropping the ball, just asked to call or submit another email to their link. I already did that, How about check your emails?
Edit to the response:
You emailed the exact same thing your Yelp request stated. Additionally you didn't provide your email nor a phone number....
1) some people prefer to communicate via email.
2) you emailed....you didn't provide your email

I have had noting but problems with this company. They left the work unfinished, had to call multiple times to get them to finish the job.  After the rewiring my solar didn't work correct. When I called the company that installed the solar panels said the wiring had been changed they would not fix it, Aleco wouldn't take responsibility for it. When it rains, I have some areas that go out. I finally got  Aleco come back out and it was the same guy who installed the panel. When he arrived, he was very defensive stating he didn't do anything wrong, before I could finish explaining the problem. I told him that I have lived in this house since it was built and the bathrooms and the outside outlets didn't used to be connected. I felt like he thought I was just a just a stupid old woman. I was very frustrated and asked him to leave. Worst $5000 I've ever spent.

Aleco installed our Generac in June, 2020.  We are happy with its performance.  There were some glitches in the installation that were corrected, but they never set up the WiFi connection.  It was due for maintenance service this year, but Aleco does not provide that.  We spent over $500 with another company to set up the WiFi connection and service the generator.

My parents are seniors that reside in my second home.  They were having issues with the main switch, as well as a few outlets in the house. They found Aleco in the phone book.  Aleco came out and told them that the electric box was very old and that it needed to be serviced (which requires permits from city and cooperation with utility company).  The cost to service the box and replace outlets with a senior discount was approximately $9,500 (not including the nonrefundable service charge we paid Aleco for coming out).  Since insurance does not cover these costs, I had two other certified electric companies take a look (without telling them what Aleco had advised and quoted). Both independently said the electric box was on the newer side (about 10 years) and one of the best you can buy on the market. It turned out that only wires needed replacing and the box was still in great condition.  The problem was resolved for a couple hundred dollars.

Since the advertisement showed a nice family and the gentleman who came to the home was very professional, nicely dressed and in a nice truck, my parents had no reason to feel misguided.  Perhaps this was just a really bad misquote of the issue, but I recommend getting second opinion before proceeding with any costly projects quoted by this company.

If I could leave a 10 stars I would instead of five. I used yelp to find a good electrician in my area of Novato California and five stars came up for electro electric. The gentleman / electrician that responded to my home his name was Al. He was on time well dressed and he knew exactly what the problem was and one part was missing and he had it in his truck to fix the switch. I am a 100% disabled veteran and I wouldn't even of tried to fix it. It was done in a very timely matter and I am very very pleased by his work. Very professional well spoken and I told him if I ever had an electrical problem again I would call his company and ask for him in particular. He said he has been working for the company for 30 years and it showed in his work. I can't recommend him and his company high enough and I am thankful that I use your help /Yelp to find the company. Thank you again and they deserve 10 stars.  If someone reads this review I want them to trust me because they were contacting the best.
Sincerely,
Stan B

I worked primarily with Mike as the estimator. We had out-dated wiring in one of our rooms, and I wanted outlets replaced at a price tag of 4,500 dollars. 2,100 for the new outlets 2,500 for the branch circuit and hooked up a door bell for 275. Mike was somewhat pushy, wanting us to sign up for the work immediately instead of allowing us to get other bids, and was quick to get a down payment and the work scheduled for January 12th (the bid was done on the 6th of January). I don't mind that necessarily, as finding an electrician in our area was taxing, but he didn't need to hard sell me, I knew I was in a tough spot.

Mike didn't seem to give a good enough description to his guys about the parts that were needed or the work to be done, because they had to confirm it with me and had to run out to grab additional dimmers. Additionally they seemed to be surprised by a lot of what they encountered throughout the process. It would probably have been good to spend an extra 30-60 minutes truly examining the house and documenting exactly what I wanted to have done, instead of just ball parking something and having someone else worry about it.

They guys some really good work throughout the day, gave me a full day of replacing outlets, and wiring to the extra bedroom. At one point, they said the crawl space was inaccessible to just go under the house, so they had to Mickey Mouse to two different parts of the room, he also let me know that there were a ton of junction boxes under the house. One of the things I would have preferred were to have those additional boxes condensed (which I had mentioned to Mike) as I really wanted the old wiring to get pulled out entirely. But I'm not sure if it was quoted correctly, so I'll have to wait to get a second electrician in here for the work I didn't necessarily get quoted at.

The guys were pretty cordial, and did a good job answering my questions about my panel and even threw in a doorbell chime for free. I will say that the doorbell transformer, and the extra hole (more like a 2x3 inch box) they drilled don't look professional (looks like a handyman would have done it) but I understand that houses can be weird, and we can't always have perfection.

They did leave some screws around the house where they replaced the outlets which we seem to keep finding even two weeks after they had left, and they accidentally tugged on a wire that made our stove hood stop working. My mom had died on the 13th, so I was taken away to Arizona to work through that and when we came back, we thought they had never called us back so we called them trying to get something set up to have the stove fixed.

The individual who answered the phone was put on the defense instantly when we were like, nobody called us which I can somewhat understand, but in a customer service situation a better response would have been, Hey I know you're going through a tough time let's figure this out. I know I could be asking for a lot here, but some basic customer service training would have just put us more at ease. They ended up fixing the hood in 15 minutes, so it wasn't too big of a deal, but they took a situation that could have been surprise and delight and just made it sour.

Anyhow, TL:DR,

They will charge you 4,500 for a full day of work to install a branch circuit and get all your outlets replaced, but there's a communication issues with multiple individuals. Whether that be talking with each other about the work to be done or communicating with a high level of customer service in mind, they simply are Good enough, and not something to blow your socks off.

I recently worked with Adam G. and Aleco Electric to install emergency lighting at two of my NAPA Auto Parts locations. Adam was quick to respond when we contacted the company for a quote. I explained our tight deadline to get the installations  and other small electrical work completed and Adam had electricians at both stores within just a few days.

After the repairs were completed I walked the job and everything looked great and the work that was performed was exactly as requested. I also appreciate the quick response so my I could complete the project before the deadline.

Thanks to Adam's professionalism and the quality of work that was performed we will be using Aleco Electric for any future repairs.

Had two bathroom fans installed. I bought the fans separately. The installers showed me how the ceiling opening was larger than the fans and that they could add drywall to close the gap. They did that and everything looks great! They even textured the drywall for me. Very well done. My only problem was the cost, 2 men for 2 hours 40 minutes, cost $1758. 5 stars for the workers, 1 star for the price.

I've used Aleco three times now after recently moving into this house built in the 50s. This house is a mess to say the least.

Just today Mike came by and helped troubleshoot and resolve yet another wiring fiasco we found in our kitchen. He knocked it out quickly and I can easily say it was not something I wanted to fix on my own.

We have our kitchen back in working order and if anything else is needed again I'll be sure to request Mike for another visit!

Thanks again, Mike and Aleco Electric!

Be careful for their charge. I put my first review that they over charge and Adam updat that they should charge $128 for the doorbell be repaired. After I called them, they said it is an error, $128 is just trouble shooting. you will need to pay more to get doorbell repaired for more than extra $100. It is just bad transformer. Can you image  that they charge more than $300 to get a doorbell repaired. Also they don't care the customer's unhappiness of their service.

Mike was awesome.  He came out and offered to fix for a higher price or said I could do it for the price we were at already for him coming out.  He verified that I just needed a new AFCI outlet and then walked me through exactly what I would need to do.  He even gave me his cell phone for if I got stuck, took out the outlet, and turned off the power to that outlet.  I did end up paying $125 but his advice and support was worth every penny.

The electrical panel on the side of my house had a fitting that cracked and let rain water corrode the inside to the point where I couldn't reliably juice up my house.

Aleco came out, gave me a quote ($5500) and then threw some discounts at me to make things more palatable.

They worked hand in hand with the Planning Department and PG&E so when the day came when they were allowed to start, they were ready.

As soon as their truck pulled up, the two electricians jumped out and hit the ground running.  I've been in heavy construction for 50 years now and was impressed with their work outlook, their ability to work as a team and their efforts to get me juiced up as quickly as possible.

I watched them throughout their time here to make sure they weren't checking for YouTube videos on how to install the panel.  They didn't need the help.

I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of this experience and would not hesitate to call them again.

They completely understood that this was a serious financial burden for an old retiree and made it as easy as possible.  That was truly unexpected.

They even cleaned up after themselves (something I refuse to do).

Many thanks to the owner (Pete) and his two electricians.

I called this company, and was pleased that they could schedule a visit in 2 days.  Other companies offered 2 weeks.  The service man was delayed, and arrived 1.5 hours after the scheduled time.  He then looked at what I needed  done, and told me they would send me an estimate and I could schedule the work.  They had not made clear that this person was a troubleshooter not a repair person.  I begged him to fix at least one of the problems, and he did, but the price was over the top!!
I called the next morning to get a quote on the remaining work, and I am still waiting for the quote, 1 week later.  I would never use this company again!

Our time frame was from 8-11. The technician called around 8:20 said he would be here at 9, he didn't show up until almost 10. When he arrived he sat in his truck for about 5 minutes texting on his phone. Then walks to the porch stands there a bit more and continues texting. He finally rings the door bell and when I open the door he has no mask on. He is clueless of what he's supposed to do because when he walks inside he states, what am I supposed to do here. I then tell him and he has us move the stuff from the bar table so he can put a covering on our furniture, which I thought was great. But then he said that he's not sure he can install the new bracket for the ceiling fan because our ceiling is wobbly, he says this as he's hitting our ceiling. We have had a fan in that place and never had any issues so I told him the ceiling was fine and to proceed. He installed the new bracket and the fan and light worked just fine, no wobbling. He picked up the furniture covering and left all the mess on the floor. The first technician who came out and did the troubleshooting for us discovered that there was nothing wrong with our wiring, we had just bought a faulty fan. It was because of Alan's professional customer service that we decided to have Aleco Electric come back and do the installation in a new fan.

I understand nobody is perfect, but a call stating they were going to be late would have been nice. I understand that there are times when you have to make a call or text someone, but it's professional to park away from the customers house view to handle personal business. It is also being professional to clean up any mess you make, so that you leave the customers house exactly like it was before you came. It would be nice to have the technician read the work order before entering the home, instead of asking the customer what it is they need and look unprepared. However, none of these things took place, and for me that is a poor customer service.

I had to call them back since the orientation of the plug was not the best for my charger location. They came out to fix the orientation without any hassle, very quickly and as a warranty call at no charge. Great service! I will be calling them if I need any electrical work done in the future.

We had a circuit breaker that tripped and wouldn't reset. Mike T. came by shortly after 9a. He troubleshot and fixed the problem in about 5 minutes. He advised us that the age of the house (20+ years) contributed to the deterioration of the electrical devices and wiring. He left us with a estimate to take care of the situation. We got into a bit of disagreement when he declined payment for his services. Mike was a great start to the day, a credit to himself and the company. Highly recommend.

The person who replaced our kitchen light was very professional.  The work was done in a timely manner and the price was fair.   When calling either the engineer or calling the company, they were responsive.  Was able to get what information that I needed with a phone call.   Thank you for doing a great job!

Called this company because my AC kept tripping breaker, causing fan to shut off, it was Labor Day weekend and this is the only company that was available. Jayson/technician came out, checked voltage of breakers (did not check anything else) and said everything was fine and to contact AC company, so I paid 400+ since it was off hours for him to basically to do nothing. Company called me back to try and schedule  another appointment  to change whole panel out and quoted me 4000+. I told them I do not need the whole panel changed I just need the AC breaker and they refused to do it.

Had a different electric company come out today, actually TOOK BREAKER OUT to see if there was any issues, breaker was really bad and had some corrosion on it, which actually slightly melted the bus, WHICH WAS CAUSING BREAKER TO TRIP.

Wouldn't recommend this place

Ps
They also quoted me 400+ for the breaker to be changed, other company did it for 250.

Do not use them, you'll be SO sorry. They talk a good talk, but they
up sell people. They are especially good at taking advantage of seniors and disabled people. That is their specialty. Selling people more than they need, by lying, and collecting huge deposits up front. See older reviews on this page, there are plenty of persons who were wronged, just like myself and my elderly, very sick husband who is on hospice care, and oxygen. Believe me, they do not care!

They did ok work at first glance. But when I came to inspect the job, the installer started telling me how I needed $25,000, yes 25 thousand more of more work done! He didn't even bother to show me the sub panel box that he finished installing just that day! I was so distressed and distracted by what he told me, I forgot to look at my control box that I paid $2500 for! And Juan didn't bother to show me. He just kept asking for the check, didn't want me to look around. Then I discovered one whole room didn't light up! They had their truck running and were ready to go. Turned out, one of the new breakers was faulty right out of the box. That tells me, they didn't even bother to TEST THEIR WORK before starting their engines and hopping in their truck.
By this time I forgot all about getting my new breaker box being labeled. And Juan, was more than happy to conveniently forget that also, it saved him another hour of work! He just let it go! I didn't know what any of the switches operated, a minor detail, you think?
Ma'am,.....Where's the check, again and again...I stalled another moment.
I explained it would be post dated by 3 days, as per our original agreement with the office, employee Eric; when they persuaded me to have my job done 5 days early to fill a cancellation hole in their schedule.
They cashed my check immediately upon leaving my house. My bank account became overdrawn! Turns out, Eric stated to me on the phone later, that he has absolutely NO CONTROL over when checks are cashed. Then why did he okay my post dated check and lead me to believe that all would be just fine. Stress!!!
That same installer, Juan, cashed my check. Or so the office said, but they lie at the office too. They promise, and they lie, and then they lie some more. They do NOT follow through on their work. It was a nightmare, for myself and my elderly husband who is on oxygen. He was so distressed, he had to take more Ativan that day and call his hospice nurse. Aleco did not care!  He could've died on the spot, those people would not care. No heart, no customer ethics here.

There was never an apology for any of this. They treated my like they thought I was an entitled bitch. And I assure you, I am anything but. I like a job done well, and my concerns listened to. They do not listen, they do not care, but you damn well better have that credit card ready pronto, because they DO CARE about their money. That is all they care about.

If you like respect from service workers, don't hire them. If you like to be listened to, don't hire them. If you like your home cleaned up when they are done, don't hire Aleco. If you like the work you paid for explained to you, to your satisfaction don't call Aleco. And they never returned my calls, not once!
I have owned my home for 40 years, and I have had innumerable service people out here during that time. This was, by far, one of the worst experiences I have EVER had.
They did offer a senior discount, so that was nice.
But, as it turns out, it wasn't nearly enough to cover the pain and suffering we went through, trying to get the job finished properly. They sent George to finish the work. George was awesome.
Beware of their whippersnapper salesman Steve Daly, and Juan the installer, and Eric at the desk.
Eric will promise you the moon, and deliver nothing.
Save yourself some trouble, and keep looking down the alphabet further.
Do NOT HIRE Aleco Electric.
Had they made any of this right for me, or apologized, I would never have written this review. But they didn't apologize, and they didn't even cover my bank fees for cashing my check early. Said they would send a check and they did not.
And of course, they did not wear masks. Aleco Electric. Put them on your do not call list. And thank you for reading reviews. We all help each other right?

If you need any electrical work done, you should try Aleco electric.

The reason I have given them a one star is because they tried to upsell us.   They were going to charge us $3600 for $120 job.   We had a circuit  go out , my husband and I changed out and put a new breaker in, we checked every plug and light outlet for any loose wires and did not see any.   When He came out we told him everything we did and he told us Well the bad news is that were going to have to change every plug and every light outlet in the entire house to figure out what was wrong. Of course I questioned this because we only had one circuit out the rest was fine so I wasn't understanding why they have to replace every outlet in the house for one circuit problem.  It turns out there was a loose wire in the junction box, that was it.  So even if they were going to do what they said they needed to do for $3600 that would have not fixed the problem. So I feel if prior to just jumping into up selling us there should have been some troubleshooting going on prior to that.

What fantastic, professional service! Tony and his crew are very friendly and caring. During the recent storm a client of ours (Visiting Angels Home Care) power was lost due to falling branches. His team demonstrated that they really care for the customer. I recommend them highly for any electrical needs.

Got very fortunate today. Tony is someone you can trust, and very knowledgeable.
I recently moved into my 1950 house, and got my first electrical problem yesterday. Half of my kitchen went unpowered.
Next day, Tony came on time, and quickly assessed that a breaker must be down.
Surprisingly all my sub panels looked ok, and we just couldn't understand. While my wife and I had in mind to get a full electrical redo, we were not ready to do it now. That's when Tony said hold on, there must be another sub panel that breaks down elements in the kitchen.
And within 5 min we found it hidden behind the moving spice rack with a good laugh.
Everything works just fine, and I can now plan for a more advanced electrical redo.
I really appreciate how Tony focused on solving my problems and look forward to leveraging him and his team for my future needs.
Thank you!

Do yourself a favor pass on aleco electric. They sent a salesman to my house just to talk about an electrical outlet.  It went from something small to my entire house needing to be reWired. Talk about chicken little with the Sky is Falling. Well, anything can happen and anything is possible. But, they need to get their act together, and not be so dramatic just to land a sale.

I live in San Francisco and recently had Aleco come out to take a look at an electrical problem I have.  When the electrician arrived he advised me that they do not do repair work on homes with knob and tube wiring and charged me $125 for the call.  I posted a complaint on Yelp and received a very nice email from the owner who refunded my service fee, which I appreciated.  While they couldn't solve my electrical problem they certainly showed they are a quality company who will work well for others.

My aunt just had a horrible experience with Aleco. She has dementia and lives with a disabled son. The estimator gave her a price of $24,000 for a job and took her check $1500 deposit without giving her time to speak to any of her other children or get another estimate. The estimator did casually tell another relative, when we called them to figure out what was happening, that she had said she might have to take out a loan to do the work. They began work immediately and kept the deposit even though her son pulled them off the job as soon as he heard about it. They left the house electrical in an unsafe state. Another electrician has since done the job for a third of that price. I consider this preying on a vulnerable senior citizen.

As with some of the reviews below, I definitely did NOT have a good experience with Aleco Electric. I was assured that the electrician was going to follow the Covid safety procedures including wearing a mask. Electrician did not put on his mask until I asked him about it and then asked him to put it on. Electrician was not very helpful in helping to resolve my main issues so I ended having to go to the hardware store to get a piece to resolve it. Electrician was very terse about answering questions which I had. In the end he did but with some attitude. I did call Eric at the main office who listened to my complaint and lowered my fee for poor service. (I was not interested in the money but just wanted thorough and friendly service). I will never use this company again.

I had what presented as a dire situation on a Friday morning when my power completely went out and I had family coming for 4 days from out of state with a 7-month-old baby. Desperate to remedy the matter, I picked Aleco out of a small yellow pages publication with a large ad with a cute blonde family featured and emergency service offered. Mike arrived a few hours later and immediately proceeded to be very aggressive and critical about my electrical panel etc. To cut to the chase, he was here for a number of hours not really doing much except testing breakers, banging on the panel supposedly to dislodge corrosion, and by and large, giving me a bums rush intense sales proposal to accomplish anything that day. He had me in tears over the must do e-signing on his Tablet for a thousand dollars that day and 15 thousand to rewire my whole house with the work to ensue the following Monday. Having no other immediate alternative and the dread of no power for days with company arriving, I under duress e signed and gave him my credit card. I am retired and on a fixed income. He seemed actually gleeful at my situation and my signing up for 15 grand. He told me he could probably do something to get some basic power up that day prior to the whole job starting on the next Monday. He accomplished nothing at all except banging the devil out of my panel and breakers. He then put in a call to PG&E. They were actually very prompt and sent a veteran guy out with a big truck. Mike left at this point with my credit card immediately charged for a grand and the 15k so-called contract. What happened then was after a lot of inspection, PG&E discovered that the total problem was on their lines and equipment. They stayed until after dark to get my power back on, said I didn't need a new panel nor my house rewired and in addition, sent their guy back on Monday to run a whole new service to my home. I attempted to call Mike, emailed him to cancel the contract which had a 3-day cancellation clause in it etc. advising him that his attempt to extort me with a big unnecessary bill was null and void. I never heard from him. I then filed a claim with Chase Bank regarding the thousand dollar amount for the inception of the bogus contract, to be disputed. I am happy to say that, upon investigation, the bank ruled in my favor and I wasn't out that scamming sum of money.
This was a nightmare experience that I would not anyone else out there to be victimized by. So beware of Aleco and the ilk of the high sales pressure, rude clown that in an apparent conglomerate, responded to my emergency call.

I had the pleasure of working with Aleco after a stellar recommendation from a close friend. My wife and I own a home in South Lake Tahoe with an in-law unit we wanted to rent out. We found out that the electric service connected to the unit was undersized and we could not get insurance on it as a rental without getting it upgraded. After one phone call explaining the issue Aleco staff took it from there. They handled everything. Called the county and pulled the permits. Did a beautiful job on the construction and even net with the county inspector to prove all work was done to code. It was and the first time. The gentleman who came up to change out our service also installed new modern outlets in the main house. I was not home but my wife said they were so nice and professional. I would recommend this company for anything. Good folks and the price was very fair and much less than the other two quotes I recieved even from companies closer to our house. Thanks

After posting a less acceptable review earlier, due to cracks and holes in the plaster when two Aleco Electric electricians installed some canned recess lighting, I was contacted by the Owner.  I told him in detail the problems and shortcomings of his two employees.  He said he would look into it and get back to me.  I just received a refund check for more than the repair by an outside company cost me with a profuse apology and a promise to to better by me in the future.  Hurray for an American company that will stand up and do the right thing!  I am a fan of Aleco Electric now..

Run away, don't walk! I called Aleco for what I thought was a loose wire. I was told it would be $59 to come out and then $66 per half hour there after. If I had the work completed the $59 would be waived. Pretty sure it was the wire I agreed. Jayson went in to the attic, traced the wire (about 4 minutes) then worked for another 3-4 minutes and said ok, check it. I checked and it was working. Jayson came down and confirmed it was a loose wire. Then proceeds to tell me the total is $291. I thought he was joking. I questioned it and explained I was told it would be $59 to come out and then $66 per half hour there after. He said no, that's for trouble shooting. I explained that was not what I was told. He said nothing could be done. It was $66 to trace the wire an and $225 to tighten the wire nut. I have never seen such an abusive case of price gouging. I am the owner of two small businesses and I could not sleep at night if I gouged people like this. I will be filing many more complaints and reviews.

Excellent experience with Aleco when I called about a problem with my 40-yr-old circuit panel. They responded quickly; Brian came out to diagnose that specific problem, and asked enough questions to check and identify additional problem with several electrical outlets.  The service team, Fabian and Jaimie, were also great, working speedily & professionally to complete the work in less time than expected ... and thus getting my power (and A/C) back on before mid-day on hottest day of year to date! A couple months ago, I was cleaning house for my elderly mother, when my vacuum suddenly stopped, so I went to where it was plugged in, and noticed the freezer's power light was also off. The freezer uses the outlet directly behind the wall plug my vacuum was using, but they are on the same wall. Whatever happened it killed the outlets and we had to get someone over to fix it or risk losing a freezer full of food. I called Aleco Electric, talked to Mike, who first explained their rates, then said someone would be there within a couple hours. I had to leave but my mom was home when Al from Aleco arrived, my mom had misunderstood which outlet I told her had the problem, and she said after spending more than an hour looking for the problem without finding it, he noticed the outlet that was behind our back door, he tested it, and found it had no power. He only charged my mom for the service call and the replacement of the blown outlet. My mom told me Al was friendly and  professional, and only charged her for a service call and the outlet he replaced. My mom was ecstatic! She said they could have charged for an hour of troubleshooting but were understanding about the confusion, she had shown him the wrong one by mistake.I really appreciate the patience and great service they gave her and didn't try to take advantage of her. Aleco earned a permanent place in her book of service companies for household repairs! Thanks Aleco Electric, you guys ROCK.

We are writing this letter to acknowledge the professionalism, integrity and warmth of Michael Trumbley, one of ALECO's employees, and to say what an excellent company the owner has created.
We contacted  ALECO because we had an outage of electricity in about a third of our house.  The day before, our heating system failed, so we were depending on electric heaters to provide warmth in the house.  Our house was cold and we were cold and desperate.
Mr. Trumbley shows up, checks the main electric panel, within five minutes tells us all our electricity was back on.  We then asked him if he could check our heater, he did and said the problem was a blown fuse.  We changed the fuse and now our electricity and heater are working.
When we thanked Mike, he statedI'm just reflecting the mission of ALECO, to give all our customers professional services with total integrity.  He said the company reflects the values of the owner.

Got ripped off today by these jerks. My stepfather paid $852 upfront for nothing, we paid them to fix the problems that we were having with our electricity, along with changing out all of the plugs and light switches in our house. They said that the full price would be $1,652 altogether. Which already seemed high to me. Two younger guys came by and did a piss poor job. A third guy was here, but was suspiciously called away to Vallejo, about thirty minutes into the job. Not only did they leave 13 of the old plugs and light switches, instead of swapping them out for new ones, as agreed. But, they also left wires, screws, and chunks of wall on the ground. On the few plugs and light switches, that they actually changed out. When they finished, they didn't offer to show us the work they had done, they pretty much bolted as fast as they could. When we actually noticed the shoddy work that they had done, it was too late. Now, we are trying to get the check cancelled, so that these scammers can't get all of our money. We should have read the Yelp review on here. That guy knows what he is talking about. These guys aren't licensed, they don't have a website, and they use a generic company name that a lot of other electrical companies in the bay area use. Buyer beware. They don't even have a rating on the Better Business Bureau.

I used ALECO Services last year for a kitchen outlet that stopped working. Mike Trumbley came out and gave us an estimate of over $5,000 to fix our outlet and bring our old electrical box up to code. They came late. They said they got lost on the way here. I live in San Francisco and I found out after the fact that they are not located near here. Foolishly I had them update our electrical box. I had to wait awhile to get it done. They were late every time they came. When it was time to show up so a SF PG&E guy could explain what rules they had to follow, ALECO was a no-show. After the work, when they had to come meet a SF PG&E guy to OK their work, ALECO was a no-show. The PG&E guy said I should have hired an electrician actually located in San Francisco, and dissed their lack of professionalism. Now a few months later, a circuit breaker keeps shutting off. Rather than deal with ALECO, I called an electrician actually located in SF. I recommend you do the same.

Fred Ochoa, one of their technicians, came over to look at some outlet + fixture work I needed done. He said he'd get back to me with an estimate but then never called me back. Talk about the run around.  I contacted this company to give me a quote on some rewiring for my church.  Met with Tony who talks a good game, but does not deliver.  Let's just say the initial meeting/walk-through was in May.  It's now July and I have yet to receive the quote.  One run around after another.  The secretary has been out, I should have it to you by the end of the week, Let me follow up with the office to see what the hold up is, I'll get back to you today.  Needless t say none of this has happened because I wouldn't be writing this review if that were the case.  I don't think they had any intentions of providing a quote. Spoke with a man in the office last week (Mike), who made it seem like I was inconveniencing him for calling to follow up on a quote that should have been done two months ago.   A sad way to do business.  I just talked with Tony today (of course he had a bad cell connection...hadn't used that excuse yet) and he asked me if he had my email address.  Yes Tony, I gave it to you in April.  I then had to ask what was the hold up, to which he replied I wanted to get you the best price because he thought it was too high.  When I asked weeks ago in June what the round about figure was, he replied, he didn't know off the top of his head.  Well Tony, how did you know it was too high if you didn't know the amount was when I asked?  And to add insult to injury he said, that he would fine tune it and send it over today.  Tony you told me it was done two weeks ago.  Nothing but lies I would say.  I can't say enough bad things about this company, but I will spread the word across the internet to get my point across.  I wouldn't do business with this company if it was free.  They are horrible.  They don't deserve the one star you are forced to give them on Yelp!  I just wanted a quote....is that too much to ask?  If you don't want my business say so, so I can stop wasting mine and your time.  Somebody is willing to take my money!

I can't say enough about the crew that responded to my desperate plea for help. I lost power the day of my mom's memorial service. I had a house full of guests and a refrigerator stocked full. Aleco was the first company I could get hold of on a Sunday morning. They were there in 2 hours and Peter immediately identified the serious problem. He was able to get a temporary patch in so that my refrig and some lights would work. He returned on a Tue, after a rainy Mon and gave me the bad news that not only did I need a new panel (the 1951 was out of code and broken), but that the city permit process would require a complete rewire and the house had to be brought up to code. I had to do it, but it was made so easy because the crew was so professional. They had the entire house rewired, even put up a new dining room light for me, in three days. They were kind, were very considerate when moving furniture to place new outlets, and cleaned up after themselves. There was no down-time. They came back after they were done when I had some areas that needed more work and there was no extra charge. It was an extremely stressful time in my life and they made it smoother. Thank you Mike, Chris and the rest of the crew here in Sacramento.
