Working with Ronaldo, Hector, and one other technician was awesome.  They were responsive and worked in partnership with us to determine the scope of the work.  We had them replace the kitchen can with LED retrofits, check the wiring in the attic, install dimmers and install 10 GFCI three-prong outlets in place of two-prong outlets.  Hector and his partner were responsive by email and text.  They are a nice local company and we'll use them again for future work.

I initially contacted SOS as one of my bookshelf lights had become stuck and wouldn't turn off. They were able to get the light turned off while they located a new switch so it would work properly. I then hired them to replace the final nine in-ceiling halogen lamps in the house, a remnant of the remodel in 2013. Hector showed up on time and worked diligently but due to supply chain issues delaying the installation of the trims, the job stretched on interminably, with no lights in any of the home's bedrooms for around a month. They apologized and offered me a credit on the bill for the long delay and I'd have no problem hiring them again. I especially appreciate Hector, who's a very hard worker and very up front about what it'll take to get the job done. I like that this is a business founded by immigrants who go the extra mile.

I highly recommend SOS electric. They upgraded our electric panel and installed an electric car charger. They are personable and polite. They arrive when they say they will and do the work that was agreed upon efficiently. They are not in expo but their charges are fair. I would use them for other electric issues we might e.

I was having a window removed and replaced and needed to have the electrical conduit,  junction box, timers etc. on the adjacent exterior wall temporarily removed while the work took place. SOS Electric gave me a competitive price for the job, and the work was completed in a timely,  competent and very professional manner.
I certainly recommend the company and will be using them again if the need arises.

I am not a particularly easy person to please, I admit. But this company exceeded my expectations. They did have to reschedule my appointment for later in the same day because a staff member called in sick-that stuff happens. But the crew arrived promptly at the rescheduled time, was efficient, and made sure none of my property was damaged during the job, which was swapping out seven recessed halogen bulbs for more efficient LED bulbs in a sixteen foot high entry way and stairwell.
I will use this company again if the need arises!

I got estimates from four electricians, and their pricing was on par with the other estimates I received. Work was exceptional - I highly recommend them.

Ronaldo ghosted me after sending a man to do an estimate. Last year in December I communicated with him about installation of new plugs throughout the house. I reminded him that SOS worked on our house in 2008 and did a good job and that was why I reached out to him again. Communication with him was good initially when setting up the estimate appointment. Then after his man left, I heard nothing. I waited until after the Holidays, didn't hear from him so I requested his estimate and months later, still no reply. I even wrote him separately that his man can come back and retrieve a tool he left behind but still not a word and nobody returned. In short, I still don't know why he is not interested in the job. No professional courtesy.

This company is fantastic. I called in the am and had an electrician at my house within two hours. Fair prices, quality work and super responsive. Gary the electrician was great to work with and performed quality work with attention to detail. Can't recommend enough.

This is the second job I asked SOS Electric to help me with. I needed a motion sensor light fixed, a bathroom fan installed, and a vanity receptacle installed. I am completely happy with the work this company performed (again). The quote I thought was fair. The team arrived on time and completed the projects expeditiously; and they kept the work area clean. They even replaced an additional switch not on the original contract at no extra charge (to be fair, it took them about 10 minutes to do it). After the project was completed the manager (? owner?) Renaldo called me to make sure that everything was working OK and that I was satisfied with the work completed. If I need more electrical work done I will definitely call this company again!

SOS is a very professional, honest, and on time team. They did all the electrical work in our house and it's working great after four years. I highly recommend working with Ronaldo and his team.

I have struggled to find a good electrician for years. Recently an acquaintance recommended SOS, so I contacted SOS for an intermittent electric problem in part of our house, and they responded with an appointment within the week. They were scheduled to come between 2-3pm, and at 2:18 the technician (Gabe) texted to say he was running a little late. He arrived well before 3, diagnosed the problem and replaced several old, corroded breakers, and cleaned up our old panel within an hour. Ronaldo called his technician during the service to make sure everything was done to the highest standard. The work was thorough, careful, and efficient. I will not hesitate to call on SOS the next time we need any electrical work!!

We've used SOS twice now. First time was a decent chunk of repairs that needed to happen, new breaker box, we had an old Zinsco which are a huge liability, needed to prep the house for solar, and add an EV outlet in the garage for our electric car, these guys came in at a competitive price, very responsive, got permits done quickly. Speaking of that, when the inspector from the city comes out and tells you, Oh nice, you're using SOS, these guys are good, this will be a quick inspection you know you made a great choice. These guys also moved our breaker box inside the house to be way more accessible (it was inside a cabinet before) and did a really nice job keeping it tight and clean in the drywall.

Second, time is more recently. Small job, installing a couple new ceiling lights and also, fixing the crappy old fluorescent bay lighting we had in our garage. Here's why these guys are good, rather than replace every bay, they said they can install a small device that bypasses the breaker in the bay and put in LED lights that are brighter for one, and use way less energy.  Additionally, we had some miscommunication on the initial appointment, a tech got sick, some calls were missed and Ronaldo the owner was on top of it, apologized for the miscommunication (and btw, all good Ron, we know y'all are busy!) and just charged us the service call rate for the ceiling lights.

We got more electrical work that needs to happen down the road, I mean it's a 70 yr old house nearly and I'll be coming back to SOS and Ron for help, these guys are pros and do fantastic work.

Really impressed with SOS and their technicians. Ronaldo was highly responsive and great with giving us options for indoor lighting. Prices were reasonable. His team was punctual, thorough and polite -- I appreciated that they explained what they were doing throughout the process of installation and were knowledgeable about what would be up to code (which I am admittedly less familiar with). I had such a great experience with their team that we plan on using them again for future house projects.

Ronaldo was VERY generous, and saved me a great deal stress and money, by simply explaining what the issue was.    Basically, he provided a repair over the phone.   That is an example of Professionalism and Talent, personified.   much thanks to him, I will be calling on SOS for future electrical repairs/needs.

We started working with SOS electric right as the pandemic started. Our lights were flickering and we were concerned about the dangers of an electrical fire. Ronaldo agreed to come to our home within a couple of days while other electricians could not fit us in for over a week. He fixed the problem and stayed until all of our concerns were allayed. We have been using SOS Electric ever since. Whether it is Ronaldo or one of his staff  we have always found the service to be exceptional.  We highly recommend SOS Electric.

Alan came out to install a new ceiling fan in our master bedroom.  It turned into a bit of nightmare for poor Alan --- he had to go up into our attic in order to complete this job.  And it was a 93 degree day -- he was in the attic for an hour.  What a trooper!  He was about the most pleasant person I've ever met.  Never complained.  He even found a cracked beam while in the attic and took a picture of it to show us.  This beam had nothing to do with the job of installing the new fan -- he could have just not mentioned it but he was so very kind to let us know about it.  I highly recommend SOS.  Fabulous to work with.

We had 4 electricians come out and quote our job which included Installing overhead lights and fans in three bedrooms, two humidistat bathroom fans, moving the electrical box, wiring our fireplace for gas conversion, and wiring our entire garage + track light install.

Ronaldo was the most thorough during initial project scope, and very competitive from a price standpoint. He was also the only electrician who provided a quote without a follow up. Scheduling was a breeze. The SOS team showed up on time every day, they were pleasant to work with, and very COVID safe.

With all the work involved, we were envisioning ripped up sheet rock and the holes all over our house. This was not the case at all. The SOS team wired everything with laparoscopic precision resulting in very little patchwork. Very highly recommend.

I used this company many years ago and they went the extra mile. When I needed help again I called. Ronaldo came and was so kind and did excellent work. I am so grateful.

Awhile ago we contacted SOS for a breaker issue in our panel.  Ronaldo came out quickly and diagnosed the issue, but then told us our panel was not code and suggested it to be moved to be within code.  We had a few other small things so he gave us a bid for $5,500 for a new panel installation and some small other jobs like putting in a bathroom fan and fixing loose switches.  At the time of the bid, he suggested relocating the panel to an unfinished part of our garage and said his guys would apply drywall.  It took us awhile to decide whether to do it, but we then were going to start a remodel and thought a new panel was needed.  When we called to say we were remodeling and wanted to schedule, he kept the same bid ($5,500).  They set a date and showed up on time, but this is where the issues started.

We were told the project would take one day.  They were only able to install the panel the first day.  They left our garage a total mess which was fine because I thought they would come back to finish, but they didn't come back.  In addition, they had no idea how to apply drywall.  They cut random pieces and slapped them up on our wall only covering the wires.  I was told that was all that's needed to pass code, but that's not what we were told (verbally) and the way it was done would force me to remove it in order to do it correctly for the remodel.  Unfortunately I said these things verbally, more on that later.

They told us Ronaldo would call to set up a time to Finish.  I asked if it would be soon so I could leave the garage messy and they said yes.  We waited a week with no calls.  I sent an email, no response.  We waited another week with no calls.  I left a message or email (can't remember) and no response.  Since we didn't pay yet, we just started joking about if they would ever come back.  

About 60 days after they started work, I get an email saying he needs to set up the inspection and collect payment.  I responded that the work was not done and that it's illegal to try and collect full payment for work not completed under CA law.  I was expecting an apology and some sort of discount or just some accountability, but he basically said oh your job got lost in our system so we'll come out and finish.  He said he got no emails or calls and seemed to imply it was on me for not calling.  Where I'm from doing business means you take care of the customer, not the other way around.  How did it get lost for finishing, but not for billing?  Hmm?  Never got that answer.  When I asked for a discount for the inconvenience he said they were still going to do the work so they were entitled to the full payment.  I then let him know about the drywall and I have to say I've never dealt with someone who refused to put things in writing this vehemently.  He always wanted to just say things verbally that couldn't be documented.  Over and over he kept telling me to call to discuss, but I kept explaining that is what caused the issue in the first place and I needed him to communicate in writing.  What we were told verbally was not what we expected and we wanted assurances.  He kept refusing to discount and we went back and forth for a few days before he finally knocked $400 off.  Part of that was because they installed a fan we purchased that they were supposed to purchase.  Part of it was because I had the right to cancel the contract after 45 days under CA Law, but I'd still have to pay for work done.  It had nothing to do with good will.  They never purchased the fan and that was actually on the bid!  Needless to say, we were not happy with SOS, but we wanted to move on.  They came back, finished the job, and Ronaldo redid the drywall himself to our satisfaction, but again this is 60 days after they were supposed to get it done and they were all acting like it was our fault.  They forget a job for 60 days and seemed to imply the customer is at fault for not badgering them more.  It was extremely frustrating seeing their trucks all over our neighborhood when our job wasn't done.  And the only apology we ever got was sorry, looks like we lost your job in the system.

You'll see even more lies in Ronaldo's response below.  It has nothing to do with my review.  Yes there was more to the story and he's already lying about it.  He kept emailing me calling me a bad person for the review to the point I had to contact Yelp.  If this is the type of person you want to do business with, go ahead, but everything is 100% true.  He didn't finish a one day job for 60 days and yes after that 60 days and endless emails borderline threatening me, he finally came back and did the work to satisfaction.  If that's what he considers good service, you can decide for yourself.

The electrical system in our house was original, aka from 1948 and the main breaker box looked self-made (scary.....). In order to get Solar installed, we first had to have our main panels replaced and got quite a few quotes. SOS not only provided one of the most competitive quotes, but they gave the best advice regarding placement of our new main panel and really tried to make it work the way we wanted it. The crew showed up early and worked tirelessly for almost 12 hours to get the job done in a day to make sure we have power at night. While at it, they replaced some key wires to our clothes dryer and other high powered equipment right next to the new panel, something I had not asked for, but obviously they did not like what they saw and just did it. I did not get nickel'd and dime'd. Then they came back another day to label all breakers and replace all breakers in a sub-panel. Outstanding people, outstanding service, and a strong dedication to quality and customer satisfaction. Highly recommended!

I had a set of outlets in the kitchen that went out.  Ronaldo and Alan were able to come out the very next day.  They immediately diagnosed the problem as a bad GFCI outlet.  I watched Alan replace it and was impressed by the care he took.  He even improved the insulation on the accompanying garbage disposal switch.  Meanwhile, Ronaldo helped me to understand my circuit breaker better, and taught me a bit about testers, magnetic low-voltage dimmers, and many other things I asked him about.  They will be our go-to electricians going forward.

Amazing! We had a size blow on a Sunday mod shelter in place right after I braved the grocery store to stock for 2 weeks. As I started to freak out about our groceries and losing all that food my husband called SOS and the owner was at our house within 15 minutes, solved the problem and charged us less than he quoted.

Ronaldo and his team at SOS are by far the cream of the crop when it comes to electrical work. They have a great sense of vision for both the interior spaces and outdoor spaces that they transcend to make your home warm, inviting and beautifully lit. Showed up the day I called and fixed our problem on  the spot. I will use them again without hesitation and have asked for a quote on installing additional lighting.

My kitchen ceiling light's transformer stopped working, so I reached out to a few electricians via Yelp and SOS was fastest in getting back to me. I was able to schedule an appointment for the following week -- unfortunately, SOS almost stood me up. When I called after the appointment window, there was no record of my appointment or plan to swing by, though the Yelp messages jogged some memories. Luckily, it wasn't too late and Ronaldo from SOS stopped by. Really nice, confidence-inspiring guy. Seemed to know what type of transformer to order to get me back into the light. This seemed like an easy transaction. Perhaps I had finally found that rarest of unicorns: the electrician who actually shows up. My last guy, appropriately named Elvis, proved so elusive, I may have just dreamt that he actually existed. Keep an eye out for Elvis sightings! I want to believe! Back to Ronaldo:

When I didn't hear anything for two weeks, I reached back out. He was still waiting for word from the supplier. He said he'd get back to me the next day. Radio silence. I reached out again after two weeks. When I didn't hear anything, I ordered a replacement transformer myself and let him know. I was informed that he was out of the country but would send one of his associates in two weeks on July 8. When the transformer arrived ahead of time, I let him know and he asked if someone could come the next day. Hurrah! Would light return to my kitchen? Nope. Nobody came. I nudged a week later. July 8 came and went, too, and nobody showed. Ronaldo let me know he was still out of the country, but a Hector would visit in two days. I took the day off to be at home -- for a third time -- no Hector. I reached out and haven't heard anything 10 days later.

Look, mistakes happen. I was ready to forgive the almost-missed first appointment. Mix-ups happen. But it's now been two whole months and 10 days, with considerable effort and flexibility from me -- and missed appointments in return.

Whatever the reasons for the missed appointments or the inability to just hand me off to another electrician, he seems like a nice guy is all I've got to show for. Other reviewers here seem to have had better luck, but I've moved on.

I called at 1:45PM on a Friday, and Ronaldo made sure Hector showed up in 15 minutes to repair a problem with our electrical panel.  Hector was polite, respectful and knowledgeable.  He identified the problem quickly, worked very efficiently and did a quality job.  He also let us know of some optional preventative maintenance without trying to upsell us on everything.   We will definitely use SOS in the future.

SOS Electric was great. They called ahead to discuss my electric issues and were able to move up my appointment time. The arrived on time with masks on and kept them on the whole time. Our issue was not an easy task but we greatly appreciate their hard work and getting it taken care of so quickly for us.

Our power was knocked on an early Friday morning and Ronaldo, from SOS Electric was the only electrician who bothered to reach out to us on a stormy weekend.  He immediately came to access the situation and promptly had his crew do the necessary repairs.  Further, he facilitated getting the inspection permit that was required so that PG&E could turn the power back on immediately after his work was completed.  He even bothered to phone after our power was restored to assure everything in our home was functioning properly.  The quality of his work was excellent but the personal care he showed towards us and the situation was even more impressive.  He deserves 10 stars but only 5 are being offered.  We feel most fortunate to have found Ronaldo...

The power in my hallway bathroom went out but the circuit breaker in the electrical box did not trip and the rest of the house was fine.  I called another electrical company who came out and spent over 3 hours trying to trace the wire and power to that bathroom.  They even cut into my wall.  They couldn't find it and said only other option was to split the power with my washing machine which was right outside of the bathroom (Eichler house).  I wanted a second opinion so found SOS on Nextdoor and emailed Ronaldo.  He responded with some helpful tips but said they didn't have availability until the following week.  I called him the next day and asked if he could just find some time to swing by to confirm that I had no other option.  He was able to schedule Thiago Oliveira for a troubleshoot that afternoon.  Thiago arrived a little after 2pm and within 15 minutes traced the wire back to the bedroom next to the bathroom.  The hair dryer was the culprit and Thiago fixed the GFI wiring in my bathroom and electrical power came back.  He was amazing and so friendly and courteous!  I was so relieved and thankful that I found SOS Electrical.  Thank you Ronaldo and Thiago!!

So happy I found him. I was sad that our previous electrician no longer does work so I wasn't sure who I could trust. He came highly recommended via my Next Door neighbors and he didn't disappoint.

I had tripped the power when I had my vacuum and space heater on at the same time. I couldn't tell if my stove stopped working or if something happened to its outlet. Ronaldo gave me an estimate and came over within the appointment window on time. When he came over, he saw right away that I didn't flip the switch right. In less than a minute, my stove was working again!

What I appreciated the most about Ronaldo was that he didn't charge me for the visit. That tells me a lot about his integrity and honesty. He didn't have to do that but he did.

Ronaldo from SOS Electric 415-328-3773 came out and did a great job for me. I liked that he was available quickly, on time, was really a nice guy and helped me out a little beyond the scope of the job. Just a solid reliable good guy I will use over and over.

I needed to replace an outdoor sprinkler box which required installation through stucco and wiring a GFI outlet.  Probably could have done it myself, but you know famous last words.  Called SOS Electric and Ronaldo got me a technician (Hector) out that same afternoon.  He also gave me a discount off their minimum because this was such a small job.  Hector was extremely knowledgeable, a stickler for accuracy and detail, and a fast worker.  Whole job took less than an hour.  This company is now going to be my only choice for any future electrical work.  They are great

I asked for a visit to diagnose an issue. The guy showed up and told me it'd be $185 per hour.

I asked him to do a diganosis first and how much would that cost and he said only the hourly fee would apply.

Having no idea what the real issue was or how long it would take to fix, I sent him away.

Be aware of how this company engages, and make sure you understand their fee structure before inviting them out to assess your issue.

Problem with exhaust hood on Monday, called Ronaldo, scheduled Hector for Wednesday, problem fixed within an hour. Excellent job, recommend Ronaldo and his team highly and will definitely use them again.

Had these guys add a couple outlets, a switch, and a jbox for a light for in a closet that I'm converting to an office. They were the only contractor I had bid that took the time to walk through the loads on the existing circuit an determine if I needed to add a new circuit instead of tapping into an existing. We determined that yes, a new circuit was probably a good idea and they came in around $100 lower for that scope of work than the other contractors were coming in for tapping into existing. Ronaldo communicated the work to his team perfectly between the walkthrough and the day  of. They showed up and fully understood the scope of work, walked me through everything they were going to do to confirm expectations, locations of boxes, switches, drywall cuts, etc.  They then performed the work quickly, well, and without interruption to our WIFI (critical since we work from home now) and were out of my house by early afternoon!  They even took a first pass at the drywall patching since I had some spackle on hand.  Really really great crew, very professional will 100% recommend them to a friend and look to them for repeat business.

Ronaldo and his team did a great job at my house. Like the other reviewers mentioned he was very easy to get a hold of, responded quickly, and got the work done in a timely manner with everything looking exactly how I want it. He also found some other legitimate safety issues in our garage that needed to be addressed and had that completed the same day.

Most importantly to me they were professional and I felt very comfortable with them in my home in contrast to some other services I had done recently with another company. Will definitely use them again!

I had several electrical issues to troubleshoot, and SOS figured them all out, so the lights all are working again!  
Chiago (sp?), an SOS associate sent by Renaldo, was super nice and knows his business. He changed a GFI, fixed an outdoor outlet for the up-lights, ensured the electricity was getting to the pond, and got the driveway lights functioning-- all in about an hour.

I will call SOS again to do a new lighting project in the backyard.

Last Saturday, we lost power to about 1/5th of our home, after a combination arc & GFCI breaker tripped in the substation when a housekeeper was cleaning our home while we were gone.  Throughout the weekend, as much as I tried, I couldn't get the breaker to reset. The units that were down included the master bath/walk in closet lights and receptacles, the upstairs' HVAC and the home security system.

I called several electricians whose businesses were open during the weekend, but the best appointment I could get was for Wednesday of this week.

On Monday morn, at 8:30 AM, using Yelp, I called Ronaldo at SOS, who asked me the problem over the phone.  After explaining, he said he would send someone by 3:00 PM the same afternoon.

10 minutes early, at 2:50 PM, Chiago of SOS came to the door.  After expressing pleasantries and going over the problem, he asked me to show him the failed breaker.  Looking at it, he gave the breaker's toggle a sharp pull to the left, which turned it off.  When he snapped it to the right, our lights came on, the AC started up and my house alarm started ringing.

It took Chiago just 5 minutes to fix my 3 days of down time.  I felt absolutely embarrassed that, as a retired project engineer who had designed and built massive electric plants and high voltage substations during my career, I hadn't solved this problem myself.  Chiago laughed, saying that, based on experience, he recognized this particular breaker and knew that this manufacturer's toggle required above average force.

Chiago spent another 15 minutes, looking through the home for other problems.  With the sub breaker reset in the panel, he saw that that GFCI wall receptacles in the master bath had tripped, and reset them.  He guessed that they had probably tripped when the housekeeper had used them trying to vacuum the upstairs, and the surge further tripped the breaker in the sub.

Less than an hour into our house, the problem was solved and logically explained.  The cost was very reasonable, and Chiago was extremely professional and courteous throughout.  Expert knowledge like Chiago has was worth every penny.

For all the above, I heartily endorse SOS Electric, and will use them again should the need arise.

I turned to yelp* to find a good, local electrician.  After carefully reading many reviews, I decide to call SOS Electric.  The reviews seemed consistently good and authentic.  My instincts were correct.  The consistency in the positive reviews was well deserved.  The aberrational negative review was...an aberration.  

Ronaldo and Tarciso each made visits to my home, to replace smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, and to install new overhead light fixtures and corresponding dimmer switches.  They troubleshot (is that a word?) the issue with the overhead light fixtures and guided me in the correct direction to purchase replacements and the correct dimmers.  I am really pleased with the direction they provided, and the work they performed.   The new smoke detectors, light fixtures and dimmers all work beautifully, and I feel like I paid a fair price for competent professional help.  Plus, they were both very kind and patient with my overly-affectionate 70 pound dog, who demanded belly rubs upon entry to the home.  This is a good, highly competent business...with good people.  5 stars.

Fast Efficient and responsive.
I called SOS to help diagnose a problem with 2 outlets. We had beed away for a few weeks and on our return these 2 outlets were not working.
Ronaldo showed up on time (with a call 15 mins prior to confirm he was on the way), quickly determined what the problem was, replaced a couple of outlets, tested the system to make sure everything was working well, and left with the understanding that if for some reason the problem was not resolved to let him know.
Ronalso was personable, attentive and responsive. Very happy with SOS and will use them again.

Remove and replace a ceiling light fixture?  Easy for me to write, but more than I wanted to deal with myself.  (Have you ever tried to juggle a temporarily wired ceiling fixture while pushing it up against the ceiling to attach it to the box?)

I called on a Friday afternoon and received a return call on Saturday morning offering to come out right then and there. An estimate was offered on the phone after a brief description and Tuesday worked best for me, and right on time, the doorbell rang.  

Two hours later the job was done to professional standards.

Ronaldo and his crew transformed my kitchen and family room. Before the installation Ronaldo walked me through the process, making suggestions for light placement and what type of pendants to use which was key because what i thought i wanted wouldn't have worked. I called SOS in the morning and told that Hector would be by at 1:30 pm later that day! Well at 1:15 pm Hector showed up. Hector knew exactly what to do. He worked non stop for the next FIVE hours without a break and completed all the work perfectly. He found several problems with the original wiring in the house and quickly corrected the problem. I called Ronaldo Silveira on 10/15/15 in hopes of getting a bid for a bathroom heater installation. He came over to the house several days later to see our bathroom heater and the directions for the install. This is what we needed done: (bathroom fan replaced - the same size/manufacterer as the one installed originally - just changed out; a heating panel installed on the ceiling in the toilet room and one installed in the sink room; also, an additional outlet/thermostat plug installed). He informed me that he would email me a proposal and would come on 11/5 to install. I gave him my contact information and he left.
He never sent me a proposal.
After emailing and calling him last week, he still did not send me the proposal. My Installation date is in 2 days and I didn't even have an appointment time for the 5th. I called him and texted him this morning, to which he responded with a half-assed proposal that I couldn't understand at all. What was his hourly rate, how many hours would it take to complete the job? I wish I could upload the proposal for you, so you could see it but it basically said:
Scope of Work
-Pull dedicated 20amp circut to feed power to ceiling radiant heater
-Install Thermostat, 2 electrical boxes to mount heaters
-Replace exhaust fan

                                                                                              Total $950.00

Anyway,
  I called him to get more clarification and he told me that he (the owner) charges $95/hr for every hour that he is there. He then told me that his 'electrician' chargers $65/hr for the electrical installation; Why is he here if the electrician is doing the work? Does he want me to pay him for being an owner of an electrical company? He also said that the job would take 6hrs to complete, which for 2 people is 12 hours; for 2 ceiling heater to be installed and a fan replaced?

I recommend ANY AND ALL people who need an electrician to contact Steve Johnson at Millenium Electric (415) 342-4013. At least he will only charge you for the correct amount of electricians that it takes to complete a job.

We recently had extensive work done by SOS. Ronaldo Silveira, the owner, estimator, and electrician-worker, came out more than once to establish what needed to be done, and even made a multi-color map (based on my wife's schematic) of which circuits and lights were where in the house, and where new ones would go. The detailed questions he asked enabled us to obtain exactly the results we wanted. Since he lives in our neighborhood and also in an Eichler (flat-roofed mid-century house) like us, he was well aware of the obstacles and issues that would need to be addressed. He and his men (including John) demonstrated experience, expertise and flexibility. They worked around a roof job that was going on concurrently. At the end, Ronaldo gave us a laminated list of the circuits to go on the breaker box. Finally, he came out a couple of times after the job was done to answer questions we had, no extra charge.
 A perk is that Ronaldo is trilingual in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
 One thing I should also mention is that although SOS will cut holes where necessary to install new circuits and appliances, they don't do finish work so you will need to either patch up yourself or hire a handyman or carpenter and painter to do so. No complaints - just need to be aware.

We heard a POP! and one of our hall lighting fixtures filled with smoke. It smelled electrical. Based on reviews, I called Ronaldo, who was able to tell me over the phone that it could be the fixture itself and that a service call is $135 for the first hour. So, he came, he saw, he conquered! It WAS the fixture, which he replaced with one I had gotten just in case ~ and even found me a bulb from his truck when I saw I didn't have the right kind (had given my spares to my son the day before). He seems like a really good, honest guy and seems to know what he's doing.

Renaldo is a fair and honest guy, I do not know what I would do without him. He has worked on my home, my business and always had a great solution. Also worked late at night and on a Saturday morning just to be helpful. He is a great guy.

I had a fairly large job of upgrading my home service from 100 to 200 amps, and replacing/consolidating all the circuit breaker boxes with a modern one. I got bids (using Yelp) from five of the local electric contractor companies. SOS came in almost 20% lower than the other lowest bidder. (Two came in almost 100% higher than SOS, so I encourage people to get multiple bids). SOS delivered on budget and on time, plus were genuinely good guys. We passed Tiburon building inspection without a problem, even though the inspector was very detail oriented. Although I've never met or done business with SOS before, they're my new go-to company for anything electric! (This is also my first Yelp review, which I usually don't bother with, but feel strongly about how well SOS performed).

Ronaldo is a lovely, competent guy.  He walked me through resetting a recalcitrant circuit breaker without having to make a house call. He also rescued my plumber who needed help installing the electricity to the water heater after the electrician the contractor was using proved to be less than useful.  I'd call Renaldo again in a heartbeat.  Nice to know that he is available to deal with electrical needs in the future.

I've used Renaldo and SOS Electric for a number of installation and repair jobs and am so happy with their work.  Usually easy to schedule and more importantly, the work is always done right.  We have an older home and it seems like something is always breaking.  Out of all the contractors I work with, SOS is the best.  I enjoy working with them and know I can trust them.

I needed an electrician last week and i needed one right away  so I called a number of electricians and only got answering machines  Finally I called SOS Electric and Ronaldo the owner answered. he was fantastic. Told me he could stop by later in the day. He called me twice to give me an update as to his eta (unheard of) and arrived as promised. He had also made a hardware store stop to buy for me some motion on switches that I said I needed.

Everything you want in a contractor - smart, fast, efficient, kind, knowledgeable without being condescending, gets the job done right the first time, receives high praise from inspectors, and needs no supervision.  I wish everyone worked like SOS Electric.  I recently gave a complex emergency job to Ronaldo and his team, (bought a house that had multiple surprise issues), and they have come through brilliantly despite juggling a number of other projects.  They've also worked seamlessly with my other contractors.  This house has been very challenging (over 15 companies), and SOS has been the easiest to work with by far.  As a woman, I particularly appreciate their honorable and straightforward ways.  In a difficult situation, they have been a breath of fresh air - you can hire SOS Electric with confidence and without reservation!

We continue to use SOS for all of our electronics needs: additional lighting inside and out; internet cabling; and maintenance. SOS is always there. An example - Several days ago at 6:00 am on a Saturday we had carbon dioxide alarm that SOS installed trip telling us we had an issue. It operated as planned but I did not know how to turn it off and trouble shoot the issue . We called Ronaldo on the phone at 6:30 am on a Saturday. He returned the call within 30 minutes to walked us through the solution. Needless to say we were happy the system worked and followed up with our furnace manufacturer on a furnace issue. Thank you SOS. Not only installed but installed correctly.

Ronaldo and his guys are excellent!  He went out of his way to check out my electrical issue quickly (a faulty breaker that, unbeknownst to me, was creating a real risk of fire), and once he discovered that danger, he arranged to have the permit pulled and the panel replaced only a couple of days later. He's a truly nice guy and explains everything in detail.  Raul and Rafael did the work and were polite, engaging, industrious, thorough and knowledgeable.  All around great work and attention to detail!  The bill was entirely reasonable to begin with, and ended up low because they had to do some unexpected carpentry work to move the panel box to a more convenient place for us--but Ronaldo didn't change his estimated price even though the work took longer than expected.  His kind of service and honorable behavior means he will always get our electrical work, as well as our best recommendation.
