I found out my Grandmothers house needed to be painted in a affluent bay area town. She let me do it even though I had no experience. Was a 2 story house. I tried 2 bean poles together and a roller rolling down from the roof and then rolling up from the ground. Painted all the window trim,doors and garage door. Hand brushed iron work up 2 flights of stairs them the stairs down to the side walk.lpng story short started staying busy in the neighborhood and then worked for many contractor learning many application's. I started painting in the 80s and have always enjoyed doing it. Learned ma y applications and stained and finished cabinet for ten years. Missed painting and staining house's and wanted to get away from toxic coatings so returned to house's and cabins. Enjoying life in the big pines.

Our poor cabin was in desperate need of re-staining.
After a pleasant exchange with Robert, the owner, and a reasonable quote I scheduled the rehab/stain of our wraparound balcony and decks. When Robert had an earlier opening and was looking at the rain forecast he moved us up and got the job done before the weather could thwart us. Was extremely impressed by the visual improvement of our cabin.
Going forward I will only be doing business with United Paint and Stain for any indoor/outdoor stain/paint projects. Thanks Robert and Team!

I reached out to Rob at United Paint and Stain to get a bid for painting the exterior of my home in Truckee. Unfortunately Rob was not available at the time to do my job but he spent at least 30 minutes on the phone discussing my project with me and giving me suggestions and educating me about the work that was going to be involved in my project. I truly appreciated the time he was willing to spend on the phone with me and point me in the right direction. It would have been easy for him just to tell me he was not available but that is not his approached and while he is not able to do my job he certainly helped me in moving forward with some decisions I needed to make.
Rob and his team did a great job re-staining our home in Truckee. They were super communicative, easy to work with, and they left our house immaculately clean when they were done. They went above and beyond to make the house look good, and we couldn't be happier.

Had United Paint and Stain stain the entire exterior of our home in Truckee. They did an amazing job. Rob was a pleasure to work with - very flexible and accommodating. Rob is now my go to painter in Truckee! He came in and transformed my recently purchased condo which was in need of a major refresh. He uses Kelly Moore paints and expertly helps you choose colors and finishes that match your interior room needs. There was a snafu with my cleaners not cleaning as promised, but Rob was able to work around their shoddy cleaning to complete the paint job ahead of schedule! The previous paint job wasn't professionally done and you can see the difference with the clean lines left by Rob and his crew. Thanks Rob! I'm finally excited to be in my renewed condo!

I was helping my mother (in her late 70s) look for a contractor to stain her Lake Tahoe cabin. I reached out to a handful of businesses in the area and while we didn't end up going with United Paint and Stain, I did feel compelled enough to write a review due to the great experience with dealing with Rob (the owner)!
Rob was one of the first to respond to my inquiry on Yelp. I ended up calling Rob and he spent 30+ mins with me on the first call and gave me a lot of very insightful and thorough information on their process as well as what to look out for, regardless if we decided to go with him. Was definitely awesome to deal with a business that isn't just there to sell you their services!
Bottom line my mother decided to go with someone else that was local to her neighborhood (Rob was further away but willing to drive over), but we would have gone with United Paint and Stain and would highly recommend you at least checking them out if you have a painting project in this area.

Robert at United did a great job with painting my cabin. He responded quickly with coming out to review my project and giving me a quote with timing of when the job could be complete. His quote was very reasonable and the final cost was exactly what he quoted. He finish the job on time and did excellent work.

Rob and his team did a fantastic job staining our Tahoe Donner home. It was the first time we'd had our cabin re-stained since purchasing it in 2014, so it was definitely in need of some care. Rob managed to find the original stain color that was used on the exterior and decks. As a result, our home has never looked better.
Rob was very easy to deal with -- he's a friendly guy, with a focus on customer service. As the work dates approached (and once the work commenced), he stayed in regular touch with me by phone, which was helpful since I was down in the Bay Area while he was doing the work.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that Rob also provides great work at an excellent value -- he gave us the best quote of the 3 companies we reached out to, and completed the work on-time and on-budget.
We will not hesitate to use United Paint and Stain again the next time the exterior of our home needs a little TLC. They're great!

United Paint and Stain did a fantastic job re-staining our wood office building in Crystal Bay. It was in dire need of painting as it had been over 10 years since the last stain. Robert gave us a very fair bid and even suggested only doing the most necessary areas in order to save money.
Well he ended up staining even more areas than were in his bid to achieve a balanced and professional look at no additinal charge. We are very happy with his work. He got the job done very quickly. I would highly recommend his work to anyone!
Rob and his crew are PHENOMENAL! The best contractor experience my wife and I have ever had. Thoroughly professional, on time and with the highest quality work imaginable. They are very courteous and kept the site immaculate. You can tell they are passionate about what they do. We can't say enough about this crew. They stained our home that had been neglected for 15+ years and it looks great!! Highly competitive fees that are reasonable. Do whatever it takes to get on their schedule for 2021!

I would highly highly recommend this company for staining. We had a 1000sqft redwood deck that needed staining last minute. They came out immediately and did a beautiful job!! They have a few stain colors for redwood and I sent a picture of what we wanted to match and they matched it perfectly! I was so pleased with the work they did and it is affordable too. The house we own is a vacation home in Carnelian Bay and I was 100% comfortable having them go to the home without my being there.

Robert and his crew are true professionals. In the span of three days they had my house pressure washed, scraped, sanded, stained, and painted, and I think they left the yard cleaner than it was before they started! I can't BELIEVE how good my place looks, I've been going out just to stand in the driveway and admire it. The meticulous attention to detail these folks put in is simply amazing, and their rates are fair and competitive. I'd recommend United without a moment's hesitation, you're going to LOVE the work they do.

Super happy with our experience with Rob from United Paint. Not only was his quote reasonable, he was very responsive and fit our project in very quickly. His attention to detail is amazing and he went above and beyond in this regard, even staining our little carved bear outside and painting the footings around the house. Since this is our vacation home, he sent update photos as the job progressed, and when complete, the crew left the surrounding area spotless. In fact, cleaner than before they arrived! Rob and team did a fantastic job at staining our house. They worked in a clean, precise but accurate way. Rob helped us find the stain we really liked, came up with creative solutions on some tough spots and the execution was impeccable. Cost came in as quoted and they worked every from early morning to the evening day in order to complete the job within the agreed deadline. We definetly recommend United Paint and Stain.
I called Rob to get some advice on a problem we were having on a knotty alder door. He spent 40 minutes of his time talking me through the cause of the problem and brainstormed solutions for me too! Rob is old school in the best possible way: professional, knowledgeable about his trade, on time, and on budget. Honest, stand-up guy. Takes pride in his work. He was super-responsive, and great at distance communication. For a homeowner, that's contractor nirvana. He did a spectacular job on the cabin. Looks far better than when we bought it. This guy was great and helpful. I called from Reno not realizing United is a Tahoe area painter. He still answered questions and took his time to explain the expected parameters of a likely painting bid. If his painting is as good as his customer service...you've got winner! Rock forth!
We bought our house in Truckee in September and really wanted to have the exterior stained before winter/snow as the house already had some weather damage. Rob gave us a very competitive quote and managed to get the job done before the weather changes. Rob and his crew did a great job and they were very flexible with regard to scheduling. We met Rob as we were preparing to take ownership of our new home and agreed that he would paint the interior once we closed escrow. He and his crew were there every day until the job was complete, and when we arrived a few days later our home was beautifully painted, cleaned up, and ready for us to enjoy. Rob is phenomenal. I recently purchased a second home in Tahoe Vista that needed cleaning and staining. Rob did a great job with quoting, scheduling and staining the home. Rob was great to work with, he was quick to respond to calls and texts - he texted updates along the way so that I knew progress was being made. Everything was completed above expectation, within the estimated time frame and cost.
Rob also cleaned the roof, found a bee hive, fixed woodpecker damage and completed accent painting - all within the original estimate.
I highly recommend Rob and his business.
We had the inside of our house painted by Rob and his crew. They were great. The quality of the job was top notch and the crew was fabulous. They did a terrific job. Did our entire interior and exterior, cabinets, trim, doors. Did several test samples to get the stain color we liked for the Alder cabinets, doors, and trim. Made a real effort to make sure we liked the colors and finish for our newly constructed home in Tahoe Donner.

It's rare anymore to find people who truly take pride in their work and craftsmanship. Rob and team at United Paint and Stain did a fantastic job on our Tahoe Donner home. We have a dark stain and lighter beams and Rob & team really recognized and then outdid themselves on the way those elements of the house complement each other. They don't scrimp on product so the thirsty wood gets as much stain as it can possibly absorb. The customer experience is great with a comprehensive consultation, honesty and fairness with pricing and once you get going text/pics and clear communication throughout which is particularly valuable to the part time homeowner. They ran into some complexities with our house and simply stepped up to the plate and hit a home run. To top it off, Rob personally came by a couple times and did us the favor of hand watering our lawn when he realized we were having an unrelated sprinkler problem. All a rarity in this day and age. Can't wait to move on to the painting of the interior to complete our transformation!
As a side note, we did our diligence and compared 4 companies. Although Rob's pricing is competitive, the winning factor was clear once you meet him. No arrogance or condescending comments and clear, have you thought about this communication goes a long, long way!
On the east shore of Tahoe, it's difficult to find contractors willing to drive so far to even give us quotes for work needed. Rob was prompt, thorough, and FABULOUS!! His bid was prompt, and the work his crew does is exemplary. They know what a job well done is! They handled every detail, performed great work on our deck and house, and cleaned up completely. We got very lucky that Rob agreed to stain our cabin because it wasn't an easy project. He educated us about all possible options on how to treat the exterior and prolong the life of our old cabin. For many years I've worked with Rob on many projects at my house and he never disappoints, from paint, stain, filling woodpecker holes, to snow removal. Contact him if you need someone for any of these jobs.
I highly recommend Rob and his team. They did a great job repainting the interior of my condo. I requested quotes from yelp and Rob contacted me shortly afterwards. He really understood what I was looking for, how much my budget was, and what time frame I needed to get the job done by. The scheduling was easy and it was done within 5 days from when we first spoke. The place looks great and it was done at a very reasonable cost. Robert and his team did a fantastic job staining our cabin. Robert was very informative when he came by to look at our cabin and provide a quote. Robert and his team did a fantastic job painting our Dollar Point home. He's professional, responsive, and his price is very fair. We were not in Tahoe when he painted our home, but our neighbors made a point to tell us how impressed they were with him and his team. Rob is just a million $$ find! I was in a bind to have my cabin cleaned and detailed before my next Airbnb guests arrived, I live in Walnut Creek and could not get to it. Called several people and he was the only one who could do it on such a short notice! He went that same day to look and see what he needed and cleaned and detailed my cabin the next day! And a t a reasonable price to. he is just wonderful! he is prompt, responsible and detail oriented and communicates well. I would strongly recommend him.
