I happened upon Preventative pest control in an unusual way. They were having a meeting in my restaurant.  I interrupted their business breakfast to ask them for some advice about a rat problem I was having in my Phoenix home. I have owned my home for nearly 15 months, and have had two different pest companies and several thousand dollars spent trying try to solve our roof rat issue, but have had no luck.  This morning they came out with a contractor to perform a plumbing line smoke test and within an hour they located two different entry points for rodents. These guys know what they're doing.

I have this pest control company once a month and they spray my whole yard everything. I've had other companies that will spot spray which does nothing, NOTHING! If you want results, I suggest you call the best, in my humble opinion, company.

We've been using Preventive for years. It's an easy, no-hassle service that keeps the creepies out of our house. If pests do slip through, they will come back for a spot treatment. The technicians are always friendly and provide great service! They also follow direction well, which is important because we try to keep the spray away from where the cats spend time. The cats can handle their own hang-out spots just fine (and provide an A+ scorpion control service of their own).

Preventive was quick to get out to do the termite inspection on my property, great communication.
Was quoted $1,470.00 with 5 year warranty on a 1,200 square foot house!
I assured the inspector that that was way above what I expected and would shop around, much to his frustration.
Went to a competitor, also local and family-owned, who quoted $800 for the same full service and warranty.  Went with them instead.

I noticed some termite tubes coming from my ceiling and so I called Preventive on a Friday morning, and was told an inspector would come out the next week. When I gave them my address, I was told they had an Inspector who lived not far from me and a few hours later, he was at my house. He was polite, explained to me the process they use (Termidor Injection), gave me a quote that I was comfortable with, and so I booked them. The very next day, on Saturday, several of their employees came out and prepped the house. They were polite, professional, and patient with me as I asked numerous questions. Within a few hours the work was done, they cleaned up after themselves, and while this was just last week and it takes 90 days for Termidor to eradicate termites, I obviously don't know how effective it was yet, but given that the work is warrantied , I'm confident.

In addition to using the injection system, they also drilled into the concrete pad on one side of my house, and did spot treatment with foam inside of my house where needed. I highly recommend them.

Was a customer 3 years ago on a monthly plan pre Covid. Called to get a quote to have my house sprayed once. The lady I talked to started to try and set up a monthly service. I said I just want a one time service. She then stated they could do a evaluation one time deal for $159.00. I said no thanks. Other companies that I called  and are used in my neighborhood  charge  a one time spray fee of inside and out between $40-$60. I have 2500 sq midsize home with no real bug issues. I'm sure they will claim we have such a better service and use higher grade chemicals.

I signed up for a service but then two months later I didn't like the service so I called to cancel, Stephanie on the phone told me that she was charging my card cancellation fee because I don't finish that year contract! But when I signed up  I asked about 3 times before I sign if this is a contract and the guy says no there no cancellation fees or contract and he says you can cancel anytime! They are willing to loose customers and businesses over 20 dollars!

Called preventative pest control for a quote. They sent out a lead inspector to do the inspection & give me a quote, during the process he asked for a. access to attic, he brought his ladder and did his thing & left, later I saw that he had left the attic access open, not sure if this act was deliberate or an oversight, in either case it evokes the question would I trust a company which works with poisons who's lead inspector can do such a thing.. what do y'all think...

Nice people. Ineffective service. Months of multiple calls, reminders of my ongoing rodent issue and a few CSI worthy investigations have done nothing to diminish the amount of rodent poop on my front porch. It took multiple conversations to convince staff that mouse poop was mouse poop, not seeds, not organic matter, just old school mouse poop. Apparently MY mice don't like their bait, so I am stuck. Thankfully my contract is up. More effort to coordinate with this service than just deal with problem myself.

We have been a loyal customers since we moved into our house in Arizona 2 years ago. They were great as far as pest control goes- we never had any issues and we live next to a green belt.
We finished landscaping our backyard in July and were having a tough time containing our weeds so the pest control technician recommended for us to have Preventive come out for weed service. We really liked the company and thought we would give it a shot. My husband was tired of pulling weeds so we opted for them to pull them and spray them for our initial service and pay extra for the service. The Friday prior to Labor Day weekend the technician came out and instead of pulling the weeds, he weed whacked them and made a HUGE mess, leaving the roots in the ground. Had I known that they were going to weed whack instead of pulling the weeds the proper way- we would've done it ourselves. I called Preventive Pest Control and spoke with a manager named Mike who swore he would make it right, especially considering we planned a Labor Day BBQ and our yard looked terrible. After calling multiple times, he finally told me he wouldn't charge the initial fee to remove the weeds and wouldn't charge for the first 2 services. I was really impressed and satisfied- until I received my bill and realized that wasn't the case. I called the office again a week and a half ago and finally received a reply today via email that I needed to pay $110 (which wasn't agreed upon). My yard is STILL a mess. So today I paid my bill and cancelled all of my services through Preventive Pest Control, which of course is tough because I was very happy with the pest control services provided. Hopefully they can figure out the weed control portion of their business so they won't lose any more loyal customers.

I scheduled a inspector to come out at no charge. For a black widow and wolf spider problem. The inspector offered a very very competitive rate I could not turn down the 1 year contract . Just had a tech come out a day after.He was very professional and clean also had shoe booties which I thought was very considerate.  Most importantly he seemed to be very thorough and did everything that was explained what would take place.

Their Door to Door Sales Staff is annoying, Pushy and DO NOT take NO for an answer!!

If I was looking for a new Pest Control Company, It would DEFINITELY  NOT be them, if their Customer Service is as bad as their Sales Staff, they're NOT worth the trouble!!

After signing a contract with them nearly a year ago telling them that our huge problem were scorpions they assured us they could take care of it... several months later we still had scorpions crawling on our kids backpacks,  in kitchen drawers and on the floors. I repeatedly told them until I couldn't take it anymore.  Cancelled contract,  they came out sprayed our property again and charged the credit card on file.  They said we apologize for the miscommunication but we're going to have to get paid for the last time we sprayed. Unbelievable... oh but they were gracious enough to not charge us $120 to cancel our contract that they couldn't keep they end up on.  Thanks Preventive. - Real special service.

Awful service. They scheduled an appointment for 2 days ago. Never showed but called me at 5:30 pm. Then set up another appointment for 9 am. Never showed. Spoke to the office to schedule for 2-3 pm today. It is now 4:20 pm and no show. This company does NOT care about the customer or their time wasted. Office is less of a help. I just called and said we wanted to cancel our contract and she said we already did so

Terry is an excellent technician who is very knowledgeable, courteous and efficient. He know our needs, especially with us having multiple pets...[and they like him too ; ) ]
Today he was training a new technician. It was neat to watch because Terry never skipped a beat while he was directing/instructing him. They were very thorough, yet they completed the treatment in great time.
These are some of the reasons my wife and I had requested Terry as our regular technician.  Thank you.

*updated review* The owner of the company came to our appointment today. He was very apologetic regarding our no show appointment yesterday & even gave us a gift card to his favorite restaurant.  It was very considerate of him to do this.  

*original review* Preventative Pest Control has no concern for people's personal time. We had an appointment scheduled for Friday from 8-12. They never showed & never called. When we contacted them, they told us they were running behind & could be at our house by 4 pm. Just what anybody would want to do (sit around for 8 hours waiting). We rescheduled for 8-12 another day. Yaaaa for wasting another 4 hours of our day. Btw, the Preventative Pest Control person who took our call never apologized. I strongly suggest going with another pest control company. The $70 per spray is not worth it.

I've been using Preventive for at least 6 years. I like their timely response when I see an issue that needs taking care of (the West side can do it same day which is something I missed when I moved to the East side).

Most impressive to me is that my new home came with one of those metal outdoor sheds...the kind with the doors that won't completely shut and that fills with water when it rains. Even though I dreaded going in it, I NEVER saw a single spider or bug. We just had it removed from the property...no bugs, spiders, scorpions, rodents or pests of any kind.

I have roof rats here in Fletcher Heights, and Preventive is saving the day! Their customer service is great, and as much as I hate traps, they work. I refuse to touch the traps, let alone a dead rat, and their technicians do all the dirty work. It's just gross having rodents in the yard, but this company makes it livable.

I started service November 2016 because I found a bark scorpion in my pantry the first night in our new house.  All of the technicians have been friendly and effective.  Since starting service I have not seen a scorpion or cricket in my home or out.  I have seen a few small spiders in the yard, but not near the house.  I am very pleased with the service we are receiving.

I switched to Preventative Pest from another provider a year ago after the other company increased their price. Preventative cost less and it seems like they provide even better service than my old company. They are also all pleasant and easy to work with, in person and on the phone. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We've been using another company for years and battled scorpions every summer no matter how many times they came out. Figured it was time for a change to see if things would improve with another company. Called Preventive and they sent out a great inspector who made a few recommendations. We signed up with them in May and barely see a scorpion when we use to see them often on the walls of our yard. Thanks Preventive! Really appreciate being able to walk around without fear.

I just started up service a few months ago with them and initial service I wasn't to happy with, ants didn't go away outside and inside and he didn't bait the inside which was odd because I knew that spray wouldn't take car of ants on my bathroom counter top :/ they came back out for a trouble call and was going to spray bathroom again and told him I want bait because spray wasn't working, so he baited bathroom and was going to granulate backyard again and I told him I don't want it but did it anyway. He got it all over my backyard patio and in my babies pool. Also didn't notate it on his report that he used bait and granules and last time I checked. That's illegal. Customer service tried to tell my wife that he never did that because it wasn't on his report. Manager came out and was nice to my wife and cleaned the patio and pool and comped our service. I thought things were on there way up until an inspector came out and was rude to my wife when she didn't want to purchase 4 rodent station (which is a minimum purchase) at $40 a pop which is way over priced. When we purchased the service we were told that scorpions won't be a problem then inspector tried to sell a scorpion service for $285 which dusted brick wall and attic voids when other pest control companies will dust for free. So right now I'm not too happy and ready to cancel. Haven't been satisfied since I started my service. Been nothing but problems. Manager has been friendly and that's it. When I signed up for pest control I wanted someone honest. Not someone that would take advantage of my wife like that. Btw I'm a branch 2 & 3 licensed pest control technician.

We've been with Preventive Pest Control for approximately 6+ yrs & they've been absolutely outstanding!!! They spray & don't need to come back for another 90 days, which is AWESOME & extremely convenient!!!  If there is an issue - they gladly come back to spray again! Love that.

Also love that on our initial treatment - they sprayed on the inside & outside. Ever since they only spray on the outside, unless necessary they spray inside. Which is extremely rare!!!

Anytime we have any kind of ants - the tech traces the ants back to the colony!

They're also extremely reliable. Never have had a problem with any of the tech's - always friendly & willing to spray anywhere I request them to. Also the ladies on the phone are always so pleasant & call ahead as requested so I know what day the tech is coming. As we have dogs & I need get them squared away.

Everything about this company has been a great experience. I've told several solicitation companies to take a hike as great service & no hassles is far superior to a free gimmick anything. Been there, done that. Thanks!

I did some research and felt that Preventive was the company for me for weed control based on their guarantee for 6 months after they spray.  I have had a contract now for a few years and have been completely satisfied.  They spray every 6 months, and even if 1 weed sprouts in that time, they will come take care of it.  I, of course, don't bother them with that, but, my weeds were so bad in the beginning, that they did have to come back a few times when we got started.  I thought that maybe I could skip a 6 month period this year, but around month 7,  my home looked unoccupied.  They came and did their thing- I didn't need to be home, they sent me a bill, and everything is once again good.

Very dishonest company and when they didn't do their job and I refuse to pay them they Zapped my credit report so be aware.. you may have been out to my house five times but you didn't kill one bug you loser not to mention that was Specific Instructions Not to do service if I wasn't home and you were doing service when I wasn't home and the most important part about your job is to kill the bugs it's nice that you show up and fed them and furthermore to hit my credit report for $95 makes you a scumbag you will never get that money and I will continue to bash company for the rest of my life.. perfect example why your company has less than 4 stars and everybody else is close to five stars the custom is a speaking I can hear them apparently someone else had similar problem has nothing to do with money it's all about your lousy service my house is paid for you moron.. as far as you calling me and telling you I was having tough times that is an outright lie what's furthermore proves you're very dishonest but now a liar. They did in fact lie about handing over my contract to a collection agency when in fact they are the ones that hit my credit report from in house

Very let down.  Preventative has been my pest control company for over 6 years.  They have done my weed control on and off for 3 years.  In the last 6 months their quality has been terrible. The first 5 1/2 years I had no issues, NEVER needed a respray or had any problems. Now it's not only constant issues,  but their customer service is suffering.  I called and asked to have Tyler call me back (suppose to be a manager). Never got a call.  Called again and had them personally leave him a note, and have him call me back. No call. Finally called them and told them I was dropping their Pest service and would be dropping their weed service too when the contract was up, because they refused to get back to me and try and resolve some issues. THey didn't seem to mind and said okay, sounds good.  
  This sucks, because I really liked the guy that normally sprayed (owners son, not the creepy guy that asks personal questions and shows up unannounced), and now have to hire another company I know nothing about to start the process over and fix the issues that Preventative has neglected.  I hope you all have a better ending than I do.

We had a new tech today his name was William V he is from the Glendale location & my husband and I loved having him as our tech today for the first time. He was very professional and he listened to our concerns when I called in to pay my bill after the service i asked for the rest of my services to be with William we are very pleased with the service today :)

Had high hopes as they provided a every other month service. Unfortunately trying to get them to do what they promise to do, and/or show up is a different matter.

Initial phone call was told that they will always call to confirm your appt.  Will treat both inside & outside of home. First tax. Never knew about it. No call. Found out because I found the crinkled, dirty receipt in my front yard bushes. Weeks after the date indicated on the weathered receipt. Called and asked how they could've treated the backyard as there is a lock on the gate?  Office worker who answered the phone was friendly, and worked with me in regards to my bill, and sending someone out a few days later to treat my backyard.

Never received a confirm phone call, but figured as I had Just talked to them four days earlier it was not too big of a deal. Well, I should've confirmed because no one showed up. I couldn't believe it. I left work early to be home & a no show. As it was after hours for the office I left a message.

They called back two days later. Again the office gal was friendly and apologetic, we rescheduled for another date and a later time so I would not have to miss any more work than I had to.  I got out of work late & knew I would not make the 415 time so I asked my mother to go to my home and wait for the pc guy. At 5:00 pm my mom calls to say they hadn't shown up, so she had called them. She was told by the office person that the appt. was made for between 500 and 600 pm and someone would show up. I arrived home at 545' still no one had shown up. I called the office then and at 630pm to let them know no one had called, nor had shown up and I would NO longer be requiring the use of their services.

It is terribly frustrating to deal with such unprofessional, inconsiderate, and non-communicative companies and the people they employ, who could care less about serving their customers.

I would NOT recommend this company at all.

WOW i was referred by my aunts and I'm so happy I went with this business. They were extremely friendly over the phone when I called, she even tried to get someone to our home sooner for a consultation. (which they did) and our home was sprayed the same day!! We had a cricket infestation- those things are not only scary looking, but extremely annoying! Next morning after being sprayed I saw 6 dead ones. YES!

Have been using them for pest control for over 10 years.  Always there when needed, do a great job! They will come in between services if there is a problem but really I have never had one.
I also use their weed service.  They will send someone out in between services to take care of pop up weeds.  Damon was here yesterday to pull a bunch of weeds and did a great job as always.

We've been using Preventive Pest Control since we built our home in 2004.  Couldn't ask for a better company.  Always courteous and pleasant.  When we have called them because of ants in our dishwasher, they sent someone out within a few hours.  We recommend them to every one!  The ONLY complaint (If you can even call it that) is I wish we could have the same tech come out on a regular basis, instead of different techs all the time.  I realize employees come and go, but I really like the gentleman who came last time - we've had him in the past.  I'm sorry, and embarrassed to say, I don't know his name.

Rough. They were nice when I called. They were even nice when I interacted with them when they came out to the house. My issue was pigeon control. I had them on every ledge. When the guy came out he said he could get rid of them. He did a great job of pressure washing the house and putting up spike strips. The problem was he left a bunch of ledges with no strips. So of course the pigeons moved from the place with spikes to the place without. I was at work when he started working so I couldn't inspect his work. So I called a few days later and the same guy came back out. He put up a few more strips for an additional fee. I still have pigeons nesting on my house. They are just nesting near the spikes. I need a company to come to my house and spray on a monthly basis but I cannot trust/ use this company.  It's a shame too because they are nice people who simply do sub-par work.

My wife now fiance at the time ordered service from Preventive pest control in 2011 through the door to door solicitation over the phone while I was at work and talking with them at my door. After she signed up for service the technician would show up during work hours or schedule a several hour window and not show during the scheduled time. After several times of this happening  i cancelled service. I was advised by Preventive pest Control that the tech had jumped my gate(without my permission) and sprayed the outside of my house and i was being billed for the services. I asked how was I billed if I didn't sign for the service nor get the inside of my home sprayed as agreed and told i was to pay or be sent to collection. I would never recommend this company and i would like to warn any potential customers to be aware of their shady business practices. Nothing worse than finding fraudulent charges on your credit report for services not rendered. After speaking with the owner of the company on 10/17 we agreed he would remove the collection account thus removing the derogatory account on my credit report and I would remove my review and BBB complaint.  He sent me an email confirming our agreement shortly after. I removed the review from yelp shortly after and awaited confirmation from the owner that he had done as we agreed. This morning 10/18/16 I received an email from the owner stating he would not remove the collection account and instead he would reduce the charges to my account. He also sent me an attachment of the signed contract with my name and not my signature or phone number. I asked him again to honor our agreement as I did my part and he refused. This is the only review I've ever wrote and I do this to hopefully protect any one else who might avoid going through a similar situation with this company. I have pursed legal action and will update this once all is completed.

I just started using this company and each time they have come to my house they have been courteous to me,  I have those pesky black ants that seem to be hard to get rid of, But preventive pest control has finally got control of them.  Thank you Tony for being so nice and the customer service people were also courteous to me as well.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is...   well...   I'm just not sure I could love a pest treatment.  But the service we receive is always very prompt, efficient and professional.  We couldn't ask for anything more.  And if we ever see insects between treatments Preventive Pest is always immediately back to treat again and address the issue.

Really great service! The guy who comes to spray is very personable, funny, and professional. And - what counts most - no bugs! Haven't seen anything - I mean anything - since about a month after service started. A year later, all is well.

They do a good job and they will come back out to retreat if you see any bugs.  From time to time I have needed them to come back because of scorpions which they gladly do.  I have used them since I moved into my house in 2001 and their prices seems fair.

I've been using Preventive Pest Control for years.  We dont have monthly service because we are cautious with the amount of chemical we use on our home and they are very accommodating.  They use an organic pest control solution that is derived from the chrysanthemum flower which is great because we have kids and pets that we prefer to limit exposure to.  They are really knowledgeable and can schedule me when I need them.

We've been using Preventive Pest Control for a year and they have always been prompt and courteous on every visit. Anytime we noticed any bugs between visits, they have been quick to come out and spray again. That's only happened once but it is good to know that they stand by their guarantee. Also the service people are very friendly and a good reflection of a professional company.

I've utilized this company for almost a year now.  They are prompt, courteous, and very professional.  They've taken time to educate me on ways to decrease the potential for pets.  They've returned to re-spray (at no additional cost) if a pest is noted after they've sprayed.  They've addressed a couple concerns in a very timely, almost immediately, manner. And, when they initially offer their service, there is NOT a high pressure sales pitch (Thanks Wes). I've had service through a couple other smaller companies who have eventually sold out to Terminix and have been very unhappy.  This company (Preventative Pest Control) has been amazing in all aspects.  I hope they are around for a long time to come.

I purchased a Living Social voucher for inside and outside pest treatment.  As I work out of state, I asked for a weekend appointment.  The technician for my area was not always in Scottsdale on weekends, so it took several weeks to schedule the appointment. I provided the office with the gate code for my community, as well as my telephone number. I was given a window of 9am to noon, and waited for the technician all morning.  He did not appear, and I only got voicemail when I called the office.  During a follow up phone call with the office, I was told that the technician could not get in the gate.  I noted that I had previously provided the gate code, and that no attempt was made to reach me by phone,  I agreed to reschedule the appointment.  again, I waited more than 3 hours - no show.  I left a voicemail at the office, and was later told that my house was not put on the technician's schedule due to a glitch.  As I have already wasted two days waiting for the pest service, I cannot recommend this merchant.

Wife was sold package by door to door sales man. When I came home I immediately wanted to cancel service because of the large cost and the fact that I normally do all the pest control spraying myself. I called the company to cancel and paid for the one service they did provide. Company cancelled year contract for us ( not without negotiating half the cost price which I declined) and everything should have been settled. Just today when My wife ran her credit report we find out that she has one account in collections. When we call collection agency they tell us it is from preventive pest. Wow! Not only did they overprice the service to my wife then offered me half the cost when I called them, they assured me service was cancelled and I know it was because no one comes to our home to spray every month. I called company and they told me that I did not cancel in time and now have to pay 89 dollars  to clear myself with collections. At the time I cancelled nobody said this and they assured us that as long as I paid that first service the contract is cancelled. After talking to owner here in Phx area, he went ahead and waived any pending fees and assured me he would contact the collection agency and give the all clear. Justin was very understanding and said it must have been a misunderstanding. This just happened so Ill will have to update yelp if he does not contact collections to clear account. If he does I will also update. Moral of the story? Make sure accounts are cancelled and clear with some sort of confirmation instead of just someone on the other end telling you it is cancelled and clear. Ill will give it a aok for now, but we will see.
