Mexican Tile & Stone Company

This review is based on two online purchases. This company offers a very wide selection of Spanish and Mexican designs, both very modern, traditional, and traditional with a modern twist. Their website offers chat, messaging and phone guidance.  They are quick to respond. If you desire a product not found on the website, they do their best to find something that accommodates your wishes. And the quality of their tiles is superb.

For my second purchase I bought wall tiles for backsplash and part of a wall, 37 SF.  The tiles were individually bubble-wrapped in bunches of 5 tiles, tightly sealed and placed in huge boxes stuffed with peanuts.  These travelled from Arizona to Alabama in four business days.  Fast, safe and sound!

I spent a lot of time with the designer and they gave me little to no guidance when choosing tiles and so I ended up choosing tiles that couldn't go together due to different thicknesses. By that time, I had been there AGES and I felt like the designer watched me go through the decision process and was just waiting for me to do all the brainwork.
Not going back.

A lovely SeIection of oh, so many Mexican tiles. There's literally something for every decor. Yes, of course, Spanish style, but so much more! You can go bold and beautiful or soft and demure. A bit more spendy than the big box stores, but maybe worth having that statement....and the people there are very helpful, letting you browse to your hearts content or helping you along with suggestions. It's a great little place!

Unique tile ! Nice customer service! My mom needed 16 linear feet of tiles for shower decor! Would def recommend id you want unique designs.

Terry the owner was so detailed and helpful to make my vision come true. Wade in sales was so thorough and so accommodating  in scheduling.  And, their product selection fabulous. So happy to have this resource .

I own a tile installation company. Anytime a client requests Mexican Tile in their home design I go to Mexican Tile and Stone. Terry is helpful with selections and layout and pricing. If a client calls with Saltillo questions Joe and Wade are my go to guys. Everyone working there is always helpful and knowledgeable.

Jose, one their subcontractor tile guys, did an expert Saltillo tile replacement of 32 deteriorating, cracked pieces in the patio floor of our old AZ Territorial. Jose fit and blended replacement tiles imperceptibly. Expect to be put on a long wait list. But believe me, it's worth the wait.

I have used Mexican Tile & Stone as my supplier of beautiful handmade Mexican tile for years.  Terri Fortuna and the rest of the team are simply amazing!  If you are looking for a one of a kind custom look for your home, I would highly recommend them!

Would never recommend this business to anyone, would give it 0 stars if I could. This company cares 0% about customer satisfaction and makes money by ripping it's customers off. Their sales supervisor (Shannon Orth) is very unprofessional, led me on for several weeks about my sample tiles being sent to me. When I called about the status she said they would arrive "end of the week or early next week". Way too many run-a-rounds and misleading statements which I called her on and which she completely denied in a glib and sarcastic tone.

Apparently it takes weeks for them to generate a simple in-house shipping form to be able to send out a few stocked sample tiles so be prepared to wait weeks, even if it's just for a couple of tiles. Also be prepared to be told such stories as "your tiles are sealed and drying that's why they haven't been sent out yet" only to get an email a week or so later telling you to sign waivers so they can begin making the very tile that you were just told a week ago was sealed and drying and and would be shipped in a few days!!!  And when you go "Wait .... whuh???!!" to be told (many times), "No, I never said that". Well Shannon, I didn't just make it up, how would I know about the process of sealing and drying tiles if I didn't get that info directly from you????!

Their handmade tiles are beautifully painted but very poorly constructed! I have purchased many handmade tiles from other companies and there is something wrong with their process. They won't give refunds for flawed tile because no matter how you try and explain to them that the tiles they shipped are UNUSABLE (because of how warped they are) they could care less as they apparently get around taking back $%#&* tile by hiding behind their "handmade tile irregularities" clause so they can take advantage of the customer. Typically tile irregularities refers to irregularities in size, pattern and color but for this company it apparently also includes tiles that are completely flawed/warped and unusable (the corners aren't even level so the tiles teeter horribly and puff out in the center).

Sad for them they lost out on about an $8,000 tile order. I am soOOooOOooo glad that I only ordered a few sample tiles, what a disaster if I had placed a full order.

Client just loves her new bathroom.  Complete renovation: floor, shower, vanity,  top and tile wainscot.

This place has a fantastic selection. Prices are fair and excellent customer service.

Encompassed in a total remodel of our home for the past year, I have had the extreme pleasure of working with the entire team here.  From design ideas to mis haps in old houses, they have been with me every step of the way.   I love the variety of tiles and quality of product.   They are open to changes mid way and all about fulfilling the clients wants.  I couldn't be happier with my house and all of the beautiful tiles they helped me put together. More photos to come when it's all done!

So many types of decorative and functional tiles in stock and they offer great specials! Also the showroom has very creative ideas for using tile throughout the home, definitely stop in for some inspiration!

I will not spend a penny here. We walked through several times without acknowledgment. A simple hello? NOPE!

The job was done on time and at the budget we set.
This is the 3rd time they have exceeded my expectations.

Four years ago, we hired Joe Fortuna of Mexican Tile and Stone for an updated to both of our bathrooms, including laying new tile in our master bathroom. We couldn't have been happier with the results, and really liked how they had all of their own workers, specialists, and  kept us updated on each stage of the project. When we reached a problem, Joe was there to figure it out. I always wanted to update our kitchen with a new countertop and backsplash. I even spoke to Joe about it 4 years ago but wasn't ready to proceed. Now that we had the time to do it due to the pandemic, we re-contacted Joe and from that moment, start to finish we have been happy. Robert Peddle is their lead designer and he offered great design ideas and suggestions. We chose a quartz and love it. The fabricator is excellent and their installers were meticulous. Always wanting to be sure we were happy with the product and installation. Chuck oversaw the job, did the prep and demolition, and supervised Oscar with all of the drywall and paint touchups. Love Joe, Robert, Chuck and Oscar.

After another trip to Mexican Tile and Stone on Broadway I am frustrated, angry , and disappointed. "Mexican Tile and Stone Co. does not allow any sorting or handpicking of any material"  Inside of the box of tiles were randomly placed tiles of the same pattern, but different painted colors.  These random tiles did not match.  On the return to Mexican tile new tiles had to be bought so the bathroom remodel could be finished.  I have spent over $5000.00 with this company.  Beware and knowledgeable about what you sign with the company as there are no refunds, only store credits with original receipt and restocking fees.  Yes the tile may be great, and the employees try to be helpful, but be fully aware of the store policies.  I am pleased with our projects and very happy not to go back to Mexican Tile and Stone.  BE AWARE...

The is the greatest company, my first experience here was fantastic. We wanted to add tile to the exterior of our home to trim around the windows. They had a great selection of tiles, we took samples, chose what we wanted and returned unused samples. It was painless and the quality was good!

I hired Mexican Tile and Stone Company to design and install a new kitchen and dining room floor, and backsplash, to go with the new kitchen I was putting in.  They did a wonderful job - creative and artistic, and their craftsmen were outstanding.  The end result is beyond beautiful.  They were timely and fast, clean and organized, and collaborated with, and were considerate of, the other workmen (and their schedules) who were simultaneously installing cabinets, lighting and plumbing.  I can't say enough nice things.
Their owner and creative designer was on the job site regularly, and went above and beyond not only in making sure this project proceeded according to plan, but in helping with a lot of the details related to the kitchen installation generally, when my kitchen contractor fell down on the job (as he did regularly).  The owner, the creative designer and all of the workmen were friendly, respectful and a pleasure to work with.
I am planning on hiring this company for several other projects, and strongly recommend them.

I had given these guys a bad review a few weeks ago because they over estimated materials and would not refund my money. Im happy to say that after several weeks they not only refunded my money but sent someone out to pick up the excess materials I had purchased. I wish had not needed to try so hard, but in the end they made it right and for that I give them a thumbs up!

If you are looking for Mexican or southwest style tile this is the place to go. They have a product range for all budgets.   They have samples throughout the house that give great ideas for application.  Not all products are available to view but thier website is more comprehensive.

We were extremely pleased on a Saltillo repair job that they did. Wade Richholt provided a clear quote, the team came in and did exactly what they promised.  We ended up as a very pleased customer and highly recommend them.

I did buy some tile here, but would only do it again if I was in a hurry.  There are other tile stores in town that carry much of the same merchandise, and their staff was much more helpful at helping me find items in their stores that they thought would meet what I was looking for.  I had to aggressively engage the sales girl here twice during my visit just to get some attention.  If I had a couple weeks to wait for the other stores to order my tile, I would have saved about half and been treated better.  Mexican Tile & Stone had what I wanted in stock, so I paid full retail prices to get it.  Paying such a premium I mistakenly thought I'd get a premium product, but much of it had serious paint and/or glazing defects requiring me to rifle through the supply in their warehouse to get tiles that didn't look significantly different from each other.  Before this last step, the sales girl had made sure to have me sign TWO waivers about these being hand-made tiles and that I should expect variations.  Variation is one thing, and in the QC world variation has an acceptable tolerance range. Many of the tiles they tried to send home with me were downright defective and unquestionably outside any range of acceptable variation.  There weren't enough of the "good" tiles for my project, so I took a few of the best of the bad and had my tile installer mix them in the project so they weren't so visible.  However, I notice them every time I look at it and it really bugs me I spent full retail for these tiles.  Definitely a lesson learned by me - build enough time in a project to pick out materials from a different tile store and have them ordered.
