Every time Happy Tree Landscaping comes on here and lies I will update my review. This is what they said WE offered to fix this but you and your husband removed ALL THE TURF AND DEMANDED FULL REFUND. THIS VOIDED YOUR WARRANTY.
This is an absolute LIE. Another LIE.
We have NOT removed the turf. Never have. It still looks just as crappy as ever. We NEVER demanded a refund. We requested they repair the turf and remove the sod underneath (which they NEVER did).
Someone suggested I get ahold of News Station 5 on Your Side to report them, which I probably will due. Companies like this should be held accountable.
If you like throwing money down the toilet or crappy workmanship Happy Tree is just for you. Otherwise, don't even think about giving them a shot. There's a good chance you'll regret it.

Paul was very friendly, professional, and the crews were always on time. Paul and his team installed a complete outdoor kitchen with an aluma wood pergola with motorized slats so we can control wether it's open or closed for more shade. Paul also redid our entire pool and patio area with travertine pavers. My backyard looks phenomenal and constantly getting compliments. Thank you!
Run....Do Not Use.... is the best advice I can give you. he workers destroyed my bird house and melted the handles on my grill which they paid for but still WTF. I used them to install a raised deck and turned into a nightmare.
They sloped the deck so the water would flow towards the house even though I told them I didn't want that. They had to correct the job but then installed a bunch of cracked tiles that they had to replace. They installed a bunch of small pieces together instead of cutting the tile correct. They had to fix it. So up until then, I would have given them a decent rating because at least they were willing to correct the mistakes. Here is the unprofessional part.
I told them I wanted drains installed in the deck which they agreed but didn't put in the contract. They poured the concrete without putting them in so now they had to be drilled out. They would not take responsibility for it and then wouldn't fix any of the other mistake they made and demanded full payment. Then things got ugly and they threatened me constantly with a lien on my house. Eventually we worked it out without going to court but I probably would have faired better if I did.

Made 2 calls to schedule for someone to give me an estimate. Lady answered the phone and took my call back information, stating someone would give me a call back within the hour. NEVER received a call back. Went with someone else that responded within 15 minutes.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY -
My wife and I live in Oro Valley. We own a home in Tempe that two of our children live in while attending ASU. We hired Happy Tree Landscaping to rip out the grass in the yard and pour concrete slabs abs put in artificial turf. While they told us they would take out the grass and put a base layer down they laid the concrete over the grass and did not tear out any grass. Once the monsoons came we realized what a horrible job this company did. We have repeatedly tried to get them to fix the issue and they are ignoring us like they have with several other people on Yelp who they provided sub par service to. Now we have a huge mess we need to fix and this company is taking zero responsibility. Can't wait to see what Paul's repo she is. He says they took the grass out and we found pictures to the contrary.
Paul and his team were great to work with. They were very responsive and helpful during the initial design discussions. They acted with professionalism and attentiveness throughout the process and quickly responded when we had questions. They were able to construct our back yard with in a couple of days and were efficient and clean throughout construction. We are very excited to spend some time in our back yard now that is has cooled off. Thanks to Paul and the Happy Tree team for making our back yard dreams come true. I would defiantly recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their yards.

At least three of the other companies that had 4 star reviews never bothered to call me back.
Contracted for landscaping and dripper system upgrades. Didn't finish the work. Doesn't return calls, makes appointment and then no shows. Leftover work includes
1. Replacement of dead plants delivered and installed but did not survive. Guaranteed but dead ones still in place.
2. Finish planting original inventory of plants.
3. Fix leaking drippers they installed.
4. Will not return calls.
5. Made appointments for finish work and stood up three times.
I do not recommend this company.
Owner responded to this review. We spoke about the additional unfinished work and we agreed on the additional cost to finish the project. He has been impossible to contact to complete the work at additional cost.

The Good:
They did the job and left the area clean. Price was competitive and the owner responsive quickly via Yelp. Payment easy via QuickBooks.
The Bad:
One very large branch hit the house/roof hard enough that I felt it shudder. No visible damage from the ground, but I can't inspect roof. Crew showed up and started work without any contact or effort made to explain the type of pruning or request my feedback.
Before and After Photos attached, I'm no tree expert so you can be the judge of the quality.
They came back to fix issue with branch over neighbors house, so I updated review to 5 star due to customer care. Updated with 3rd picture as well
Paul cut two trees that were encroaching over onto my property for me. They cleaned up very nicely afterwards as well.

Response to Paul G. comment. The only quote I received and opened was 10 minutes after I posted the review. NEVER received a quote prior to the comment today - and today I get a response on Yelp, phone and text all within 10 minutes. You never responded to the 9/25 message when I followed verifying my contact info and asking for the quote until today.
I'm not sure what's up with your 'system' but the lesson here is to just followup when a message and quote is sent.
The quote I received today was definitely reasonable and if it's any consolation I would have gone with another vendor anyway.
Thank you for your time coming out and I've updated the review based on your followup today, sometimes things slip through the cracks, no hard feelings here...

I asked to have trees cut, rocks racked and yard cleaned for a client of mine and Happy Trees work was unacceptable. I was on a time crunch and relied on them to be accountable. Paul was not responsive when I asked to confirm the day and time of work. His crew came and left with little to no work complete. I had to call Paul and describe how little work was done. Weeds still in the rocks, bushes overgrown not cut, never blown, and rocks on the grassy areas. Super disappointing and insult to injury the price was three times what a normal landscape cleaning would have been. I do not recommend ever using Happy Trees. Service made us very unhappy.
They did a fantastic job on our backyard that was so overgrown!!!! We were very impressed with their hard work, especially in the Arizona heat! They did a great job of trimming everything beautifully and cleaning up the mess. We highly recommend them!!!

They came out in September 2020 and did some work for us pulled a stump, trimmed the trees, cleaned up did a great job negotiated a fair price.
Needed to hire them again to clean up the yard and trim some bushes and things, set up a time to get a quote, got a no-show from on the day of the quote texted and called the contact and three weeks later still no response.

It's been one year since we had three trees removed. Apparently Happy Tree did not put a root killer on the roots. Now we have a lump growing under our artificial turf. Do not recommend.
Update: Seconds after posting this review. Paul wrote a response. Saying that they are not paid to put root killer on the roots and that they don't offer free services. I told him had I known there was a possibility of the tree growing back I would have tried to prevent it. However, he as the tree expert should have let us know this. He is rude and unhelpful. He wrote back as I was writing this. This makes me further not recommend him. Before writing this whole review I did reach out to him in an attempt to get it fixed. He made two excuses and did not take any responsibility for the issue. I assume the latest message is the same.

Had an amazing experience with Happy Tree.
I work for a business that had multiple trees that needed grooming as well as yard clean up. Paul came out within a day to quote me on the work and gave a very reasonable and fair price.
The work was done around our construction crews that we have onsite which was a stipulation of mine. They came in on a Sunday performed all work asked and did a stellar job. The place and trees look great!

We had Happy Tree come out to give us a quote on irrigation and an area of dog turf. Their price was fair and the did a great job. They were quick to respond to any questions prior to the install. You could bare tell where they had to bury the new irrigation lines. The turf looks great and we would definitely use them again.

Showed up without appointment to quote on removal of a tree. I needed sod installation.
Requested a quote and didn't even get a common courtesy response bid no bid even if they were busy.
After this review Owner said they replied to my email. Nope. Have everyone which comes from Yelp since that's where the request was sent through. Don't worry you weren't the only company that didn't respond. Actually the ones with way less stars and worse Yelp reviews way outshined you and others with high ratings. I might believe a mistake can happen but I reached out to this company a second time asking if they were interested in quoting. I think I went above and beyond giving you several opportunities that's why you get this poor rating.

It started out great..
Paul came to look over things and give us a quote, we needed some TLC and were looking to plant some citrus trees and remove some plants that had over grown. Him and his team showed up on the appointed day at the time agreed. The work was done efficiantly, trees were removed, new ones planted, and it looked really nice. The price was hefty but worth the labor. Once paul recieved his payment he said he would return to check on the yard and newly planted tress in a few days.
Long story short he didnt come back for almost two and a half weeks to check on anything. I reached out and had no response until a 2nd attempt from my husband was made. To make the situation even more twisted, he sent a 2nd invoice for basically stopping by to look at the dead plants and said that he had adjusted our drip system timer.. but little did he know while planting the new trees he busted our water lines and killed two more palms in the front yard. My front and backyard look worse! I do not recommend Happy tree landing. Be extremely aware of your verbal aggreements with them if you choose to do so.

They showed up as planned. Finished the project in one day. Had a couple of communication snafus, but were resolved quickly. Workers were very courteous and very professional. Would absolutely recommend them

Happy tree is an amazing company . They installed artifical turf , travertine , rock, drip system, and a pergola at our Scottdale property. They've met and gone beyond our expectations. I will recommend everyone I know to Happy Tree whenever they need any outdoor landscape services . They were on time everyday , professional and courteous . Paul is great at what he does in understood our needs for our outdoor space ! Him and his team are talented ! Hire them!
I had a large area in my backyard that I wanted to have covered in decorative rock like the rest of my yard.
I live really close to the local rock quarry, however they won't deliver if their trucks have to cross driveways or sidewalks. I didn't want three tons of rocks sitting in my driveway.
I didn't want to rent a truck and/or a trailer and risk it being damaged when it was being loaded so that meant I needed a middle man.
When I'm looking for someone on Yelp I use the shotgun approach because some contractors aren't quick at getting back to you, making an offer and scheduling you. Of the 10 or so people I contacted Paul got back to me quickly, with an ok price and scheduled me right away.
I didn't need to be home. I left my back gate unlocked and they delivered right where I wanted it. I just spread it myself to stay within my budget. He sent me a picture showing that it was delivered and then I was able to pay online minutes later
A very easy project to get done. I'd definitely give them a call in the future.
They showed up on time, did a fantastic job (trees look great) and not only cleaned up the branches, but they raked up all the pods from the mesquite tree. We were impressed and will hire them again. Job scheduled very quickly too!
Called to get an estimate on remove and turf put in my backyard. I was excited since the reviews seem so great but I was disappointed in the level of customer service. Paul was on time asked what I needed to have done. I explained removal and turf put in. He goes to the backyard 3 minutes later comes back tells me I should put down fabric to prevent grass from growing again and says $7200 which was 3k more than another estimate I received.
Loved how fast they were in responding to me and giving me a quote. Their pricing was fair and I was extremely impressed with how quickly they were able to come and remove our dead palm tree and clean everything up. I would definitely recommend using them!

I was in desperate need to have my backyard cleaned for the sale of my house. I contacted several companies and I decided to use Happy Tree Landscaping. I am normally a person that does all my own work, so this was a strange experience for me.
Due to my work schedule, I could not be home when they did the quote. I was kept updated and given a quote over texting, which was needed due to my occupation. We decided on a date, but another repair took a lot longer than stated and prevented Happy Tree from working in the backyard with the other company. I totally understood the liability of the situation and we rescheduled for the following Monday. My realtor was at home and told me that they were there and working in the backyard. From his estimate and the time that I received the text that the yard was done was over four hours.
When I got home I was astonished on how well my backyard looked. I know that if myself and my son were to do that work it would have taken a whole weekend and three to four trips to dump. I state without any hesitation that I would use Happy Tree Landscaping again in a heartbeat.

Wonderful job! Responsive, on time, trees look great. The crew did a wonderful job cleaning the entire yard upon completion. Definitely recommend.
Hired Happy Tree to trim my six large palm trees, and they did a great job. Trees look great and the guys were very thorough with cleanup and hauling away the trimmings. Will definitely work with them again!
Reached out to Paul of Happy Tree Landscaping to trim 3 palms and I tree in the front of the house. He gave me a fair price and committed to being here on Monday at 8:00am. The team of three were right on time and did a good job of trimming , picking up all the palms and bark , swept the area , picked off palms off the roof , picked up and skimmed the pool. They worked hard and did a great job. I would definitely recommend and use them again.

I had a need to get a very large number of trees trimmed very quickly on a property that was almost an acre large. Not only did they respond quickly to setup the appointment, they came by the next day to do a very professional and complete walk through of what we needed, and the team was out within days to do the job. A massive amount of work done quickly, cleanly and leaving my yard looking awesome!
They were on time and did an amazing job being careful of houses and cars around our large tree. They were tailored to our needs and what we wanted done. They were thorough. I can't believe the monstrosity that was our tree looks like something I'm proud of now. They cleaned up incredibly well after and were the cheapest price for trimming I could find.

Absolutely cannot recommend these folks enough. We got three bids when we started planning to have our back yard done. They technically weren't the cheapest, but we know we picked the best company and we can definitely see the value for the money. Mauricio was fantastic. He was the only one who followed up with us after providing a quote. On top of that, he's very friendly, knowledgeable and patient (being first time homeowners, we had a ton of questions). His crew was always friendly and they did great work. If you need a landscaping job done, skip the other guys and go straight to Happy Tree.
Wonderful experience... we had a huge willow acacia that needed to be removed from our backyard. Paul and team were friendly, responsive, arrived on time, and did an awesome job removing and cleaning up the tree.

Paul is great! My husband and I needed to have some major work done in our backyard for our new home. We needed pavers around the pool, new turf and needed a 2 trees cut down. He was able to get us on schedule quickly and had the project completed in only 3 days
I will definitely be recommending him to all my friends and family.
I called and talked to them in Sunday. He said he could get simeone out in Monday. Asked me to send picks of tree for a quote. I didn't hear back after I set picks. I called and he said he would get back to me in a little while when he was at lunch. He never called back. Hopefully you have better luck than I did.

I was very Happy with the quality work they did. They redid whole drip system and planted the plants I picked. They left everything very clean. I would recommend them to others.
Same day service. Paul is a stud. Removed some poisonous oleanders to keep our dogs safe as well as cleaned up both the front and back yard. I was disappointed in the weed removal at first, however; Paul ensured me that they would be gone within a few days. He was correct and now my yard is weed free and looking top-notch. We had recently added an addition to our house and a pool to the back yard. During that process, the front and back yards were completely destroyed. We called several landscape companies to discuss ideas and project costs. Paul and his team at Happy Tree were the most professional, responsive and accommodating to work with. Paul was very patient with our questions as we worked through the design process and offered insightful and practical solutions to our requests. They were able to schedule the job quickly and completed both yards which included pavers, paver borders, a combination of natural and artificial turf, plants, irrigation and lights in a very timely manner. Paul and his crew were amazing! We had several facets to the job we needed done, including grading a driveway and reconstructing a flood-irrigation system. Paul is the unicorn of contractors: he was responsive, on time, and on budget. His crew did a great job, and left the job site spotless. Can't begin to thank him and his crew enough for a job well-done.

They did an excellent job trimming up my 2 very tall Queen Palms and especially on my huge Ficus. Trimming the inside ang the crown. Scheduling was a breeze. The crew showed up early and were done in two hours. They cleaned everything up. Wouldn't even know they were there, but for better looking trees.

Happy Tree Landscaping provides attentive and personal customer service no matter how big or small the problem is during the construction process.
We started our project in August of 2019 and installed artificial turf, pavers, small plants, and trees. Over time, several plants died due to the extreme conditions. As a result, I contacted Paul regarding the issue and Happy Tree quickly serviced our plants beyond the letter of the Happy Tree Landscape plant warranty.
Moreover, this last winter we experienced considerably more precipitation than previous expectations. As a result, our artificial lawn settled, thus causing the lawn to be wavy and bumpy. Consequently, about eight months later, I contacted Paul regarding issues with the artificial turf. Fortunately, Paul and Happy Tree Landscaping took care of the artificial turf issue by leveling the entire lawn and removing the waves in the grass and bumps.

I had some palm trees that were in need of professional help. I got a quote really fast and was able to get on the schedule for the same week. The guys showed up, worked fast, cleaned up well and the trees look good.
I had a 30 foot tree that needed significant dead branch removal. Paul and his crew were fantastic to deal with. Multiple tree services came out and then told me they couldn't do it. Or their estimates were 2-3 times higher than Happy Tree. Great business. Quick work. I will definitely call back when I need more tree work. Thanks!

Paul and his team were very professional! They were prompt, efficient and did exactly what they promised. They even removed a large mesquite root system that had been left behind when the tree was cut down several years ago. Good job! Highly recommended!
Our backyard needed a complete overhaul and Happy Tree delivered! We reached out requesting a quote and Paul came out the very next day. The quote was competitive and they were able to get us on the schedule the following weekend. We initially thought we needed to lay all new sod but Paul assured us that they could bring back our existing grass which allowed us to direct that money in other areas of our yard. Our existing patio (which was cracked and stained) is now larger and covered with beautiful pavers, we have a fire pit area and a rock border making our yard lower maintenance then it was before. We couldn't be happier and would absolutely utilize Happy Tree for any future landscaping needs.
Very fast and very responsive communication. Moved from out of state, our entire yard and palm was taken care of within two days from quote. We just moved in to our new home in Gilbert and were in need of landscaping in our yard. After doing some research online we reached out to Paul who quickly responded and came over and provided the most reasonable estimate we received. Even with a kink on our side, (had to get approval of the design from our HOA) he got the job done quickly as soon as the HOA approved our plan. Such an accommodating guy to work with! I'd highly recommend him and his team.
If you're looking for a great landscaping company, look no further. I received an immediate response from the owner Paul who came out to personally asses the work that needed to be done. And this was a BIG job. He had a crew out to my home just 2 days later to start clean up of my front and back yard. Everything was overgrown and covered in debris. I needed several trees trimmed and all new rock. Paul and his team gave me my beautiful yard back. Professional, courteous and attentive and so much more. When I asked for a few slight changes it was not a problem. Paul listened to what I wanted and made it happen no questions asked. This company cares about their customers which is very hard to find these days. A big thank you to Paul and his team for an amazing job!!! I would reccomend Happy Tree to anyone.
Excellent, I can not say enough good things about my experience with Happy Tree Landscaping. I highly recommend them and will be sure to share my experience with all of my friends, family, and co-workers. From the very start Happy Tree was courteous and friendly, returning my call immediately and setting up my quote promptly. Even though my job was a small one requiring tree trimming for two small trees and two bushes in our front yard, they treated it with care and professionalism. The landscaping team showed up a few days later and the rate was $50 less than the competitor. The team was courteous and professional and the results look great!!! Our trees look so much better and they did a great job cleaning up the gravel yard under the trees and bushes they worked on, I really did not expect that and it exceeded my expectations with great service. Two of the other competitors that I called seemed uninterested in getting my business because I had a small job and they had lots of excuses, gave me a high get lost price, and couldn't schedule me for at least a month. Not at Happy Tree, they were great and treated my small job with the same care and respect as their big jobs. If you need a landscaping service who treats you with respect and provides great service this is definitely one to call. When its time for the bigger job of redoing my back yard, Happy tree will be my first call. Thanks Happy Tree team for a great customer experience and good work at my home.
Paul, was very easy to work with. As an out of town landlord he assisted me in a providing a thorough clean up and irrigation fix. He worked in my fairly urgent timeline and communication with Paul was easy and prompt! Very happy for the yelp reviews that helped guide me to Happy Tree Landscaping.
We had the BEST experience with this company! The owner and employees are professional and super friendly. Any questions or concerns I had were answered quickly. After our initial estimate, we hired them remove the gravel from our backyard. They showed up on time and did the work quickly and professionally. When I mentioned one small area of concern they were back a few days later to fix it, no questions asked. Very happy with their service!! I had 8 trees that needed to be pruned cut back they did an excellent job.. cleaned up and now my trees are happy. Highly recommend them!
