Heron W. called to let me know he was on his way. He arrived promptly, was courteous, professional and well prepared. He asked to enter the home, put on his shoe covers and asked where the thermostats and entry to attic were located. He explained what he was going to do to each system both inside and outside. He would always inform me if he was going back outside and would call my name when reentering the house.
He was very detailed when he went over the inspection. If I had question he answered them quickly and completely. He discussed what could be done in regards to duct sealing, pressure testing the ducts, as well as duct cleaning. I also asked about having the attic reinsulated. He quickly got the prices for all of the above services.
Heron was very pleasurable to work with, he was professional and complete with all paperwork. He made sure that I was aware of when additional services could be scheduled and when payment was to be made.
Overall I'm a very satisfied customer with the job that Heron did. He is a great customer orientated service provider.

After today I would NOT recommend George Brazil to anyone. I've been in the HVAC and construction industry since 1984 and NEVER treated customers with such disregard as I've received today.
Yea they are jolly on the spot to replace a unit or sell you something new but warranty and aftercare is severely lacking.. I paid them almost $20k not long ago and even purchased the extra warranty that wasn't cheap. Since then my unit has gone out twice, once in the summer now again when its freezing outside. They have even had to add freon to my system because of a small leak they can't seem to fix, that's still leaking.
It became obvious very early this morning that they take on too much work and can't take care of the customers they have. After talking to three different people and the customer resolution person I realized I would get further taking to a wall. Never again will they get a dime from me.

An amended review...  We purchased a new heat two weeks ago and we had to have a portion of the new heater repaired.  It was covered under warranty, but this should not have happened.

I just want to save anybody who needs a new unit or service from going to this company. I am extremely disappointed in the service that this company gives to their customers. They are clearly invested in money and not in customer service. I bought two new units 2 1/2 years ago, continually schedule for annual check ups, (which is a selling point for them and buying the units), I have since only had one appointment that they kept and actually showed up all of the other appointments have been rescheduled. I was supposed to have a appointment today, they called today and rescheduled me till September because they want to service some members who have issues which I totally understand, but they need to accommodate the customers that they have, I would recommend you using a different company. It's a lot of money for no customer service.

My unit was getting older after a service call was talked into buying a new unit with service contract.  Great idea or so I thought have the hardest time getting service appts frequently cancelled for variety of reasons . But worse the new unit never has worked right in summer blowing hot air ( bad reversing valve they said) in winter freezes I think their (new) units must be refurbished  I have only had this new one for two years I have a tech out here now and its is again not working I will NEVER used GB again  and think I will send in a complaint to BBB as well.

I had another regular maintenance service visit scheduled yesterday between 12:30 and 4:00. Took another day off from work and waited. And waited. And waited. At 4:15 with nobody showing up or calling me with an update I called them and was told they couldn't make it due to scheduling conflicts once again, and that they would be happy to reschedule me for a day that works for me. I told them that like the last two times this happened, the day that would have worked for me would was the day I took off from work. I spoke with a manager who apologized and I have been rescheduled for next week.  I'll update again next week when they undoubted won't show up.

Very frustrated with GeorgeBrazil a/c service. We bought new a/c units from them in mid-June at a cost of over $26,000. One of the units was shipped with a defective part. That took a while to correct, and that unit has never functioned properly. The latest issue occurred on Friday, 9/16.  It was finally fixed on Thursday, 9/22, so we were without a/c in the bedrooms for the better part of a week. I woke up at 6:30 this morning to hot air blowing on me.

The biggest frustration right now? Despite their advertising (award-winning service! 24/7!), I can't get anyone out here until 1-5 this afternoon. I called at 7 am, heard back from the answering service at 8 am and got no further response. I called around 9 and finally got on the schedule -- for this afternoon. I called back and was told all the techs were out. They were out at 7 am?! I can't get anyone there to treat this as urgent. Some poor schnook there just got a piece of my mind, because I've been patient for 3 months, and I'm out of patience.

Don't call these guys if you need any service. Needed garbage disposal replaced, so I called them and was scheduled for the next day between 8am and 6pm. Around noon I received a call that they had not forgotten us and we'd hear from a tech soon. Around 3pm I called to get an update. Was told the tech was not going to make because the previous call was taking longer than expected. We rescheduled for the next day and the same scenario, exactly, occurred. I cancelled with these losers and went elsewhere.

100% DON'T USE.  On Saturday (02/25/2023) when a service tech came to inspect my unit, I was quoted $511 to change a capacitor (it would have been $620 but apparently I'm a VIP).  I was told if I don't get a new capacitor prior to summer I would be purchasing a new $13,000.  That's how important this capacitor is.  I told him I would schedule the replacement in the future as this was a lot of money.
Luckily even though I look like a young naïve single mom, I'm a 20 year paralegal who looks like she is 12.  I was born at night but not last night.   When he left I googled the price of the capacitor WHICH WAS $12.00.  George Brazil was really prepare to charge me $500 in labor costs for a 10 minute, if even, fix.
I called today, Tuesday, February 28, to discuss pricing and changing out my capacitor.  First, I was quoted a VIP price of $520 (which is HIGHER from the price I was quote on Saturday).  Second I was told their practice is flat-rate pricing.  When asked what justifies either a 1000% markup on a part and/or his tech's expertise that would cost $500 for 10 minutes.  I then reminded him that attorneys charge $495/hour and you will get a full hour of work for that money, not 10 minutes.  He proceeded to tell me that George Brazil is flat rate pricing and their expertise justifies the cost.
I also asked the  man if he would be comfortable with his daughter and/or grandmother paying $600 for a capacitor and he conveniently would not respond.  When pressure to respond if he would be comfortable with his OWN daughter or grandmother paying that price for a capacitor he said, We do recommend out services to our friends and family.  BE CAREFUL IF YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO WORKS FOR GEORGE BRAZIL BECAUSE FROM HIS ANSWER THEY WILL SCAM THEIR OWN FRIENDS AND FAMILY. Period.
They have over charged other similarly situated to me.  FYI to all the single mothers and grandmothers on a fixed budget.  Contact me and I will replace your capacitor for $50 ($12.00 for the part and $48 for my service).  LET'S ALL PUT GEORGE BRAZIL ON BLAST AND PUT THESE SCAMMERS OUT OF BUSINESS!

Hideously unprofessional company, I wish I had looked on here before booking them. I called Saturday to schedule an emergency AC appointment, they said they would be at my home between 7-11 PM that day.

They called at 7:01 to advise they would not be coming because their technician that was scheduled did not have the correct ladder on their truck. I was rescheduled for 10-2 Sunday. Before their tech even arrived he was already calling me to say that he wasn't sure if he had the right ladder either. He arrived anyway with 2 ladders on his truck. I showed him where he could place them to get to the unit and he said stated that he would need different ladders to do that...

Having worked in many different industries, some with ladders, I know he was just being lazy. So here I am, still without AC on day 2 and searching for another company to do the work...

Also don't trust their google reviews. I tried posting this same review 3 times, google will not allow you to post a negative review about them.

I called regarding my 240V outlet not working. On opening the main panel, it was quite apparent to me and the electrician that the wires to the breakers were disconnected. Instead of just connecting them, the electrician first tried to sell me an entire new panel for $4500 and then when I didn't want to do that, said I needed new breakers for my 240V (I don't know why) for $365.  Total ripoff and a very unhappy customer. I would never call again.

My new 2 ton AC unit had a fan spinning problem. I called GB and they had a tech here the next day. Garrett and Charles showed up in the allotted time window. I appreciated the call letting me know they were on their way. The unit was working fine when they arrived. I described what I saw and heard from the unit from the day before. They did their AC detective work and discovered the problem and fixed it. This was all covered under the warranty. Thank you Garrett and Charles and GB.

No stars.  I will not use this company ever again.  It took over a month to solve a heating problem.  No one at the company communicates with each other.  They say to call back in a week for answers. Managers are never available at a given moment nor will they give you a number to call back.  They give you information and don't back it up and then manipulate their answers by lying.  They are dishonest and try to take you for more money.   Don't use GEORGE BRAZIL HEATING AND COOLING. You'll regret it. Bad business.  Dirty and dishonest! Reporting to BBB.

I scheduled a warranty service 4 months ago and they called the day they were supposed to come to tell me that they need to reschedule me 2.5 more months out due to high call volume that day. What a joke. Take your business elsewhere.

This is the 2nd time George Brazil has called me to cancel my annual maintenance service for that day!  When we purchased our new air conditioner, we also signed up for a 10-year service contract!  Boy was that a mistake.  I tried to fire them today and the customer service person said that I had a maintenance contract and couldn't do it!  In June 2021, my air conditioner fan kept running and would not shut off.  It took a number of days to get someone out to repair it.

Not happy with George Brazil ---   buyer beware!  Lousy service......

Update - they didn't reschedule on us this time (yay). The technicians were very kind and knowledgeable. They did a thorough job performing much needed maintenance on our unit. It's unfortunate that it took having to complain to get them to do what was included in the price when we bought the unit. ‍

Beware.., it was Sunday night about 500pm when I noticed our air conditioning was not cooling the house. Our regular person was out of town for the weekend. So we called George Brazil A/C Company. They showed about 930pm. An overly confident man came to my door and said oh don't worry I got this let me see what it would cost to get you up and running. Five minutes later he indicated it would be $1800 or did I want a new A/C? Well we needed it fixed right?!? So I said we'll just fix it please.

He return 20-30 minutes later with the bill for $1800. I later realized he CHARGED me for a starter kit (not necessary) and a 3 year Maintenance Plan!  Really?!? I just asked to have my A/C serviced that's all, but he underhandedly felt the freedom to just escalate my bill to His Own Advantage!

Beware people -- don't trust George Brazil A/C company - lessons learned!

It is a gift to even give 1 star to this business!!!   After contacting them when an AC unit failed in Phoenix's 110 degree temps, they confirmed the need to replace both inside and outside units, pre-approved loan-worthiness, waited through the weekend.  Then when contacted again, informed us that they could not find funding and we're cancelling the order.  Crappiest organization I have ever experienced !!!!

Bought a brand new unit the most expensive one they had and to be honest it had some issues and we're still dealing with it, but these guys have gone above and beyond to try to fix it they came out twice on a Friday or Saturday night and have been in great moods. The thing I like the best about the company is they make no excuses they have owned up to the mistakes and they have showed up and tried to fix it with a smile on their face. That's what I love about a company is when they admit their mistakes and want to do everything they can to fix it. Most companies i deal with have an excuse of this or that but these guys are up And honest.

Turns out the window is 8-12. I would not have chosen them if ai knew that was the case. I am assuming he told me close to 8 in order to get my business. This is already off to a bad start.

Holy Moly this company deserves ZERO Stars! They are 100% rolling thieving liars!

Ok, so here we go, buckle in. Had AC go out at 8pm, called next morning and their team was pretty dang spot-on responsive. Appointment was for 1-4 and as requested, the tech called to tell me he's rolling to my humble abode. Dude arrives (Lance.....oh boy.....) and seems like a good legit guy. Me being the curious one who knows little about HVAC, follows old Lancey boy up the old ladderoo. Ask him if he needs me to turn the system on so I can save him trips up and down the ladder. I do so. I get back up there and he says it's the blower motor, but there's a problem....uh oh....So what's the deal? Well, I'd already have it fixed..but see here...this here unit uses a proprietary motor and we don't carry those....

Man alive is my bullshit alarm starting to go off.... But, I ask how much it'll be and I get the old well, i gotta call it in and see if we can find one.....oh shit bro, alarm is ringing louder.

So, he comes back and hand me the estimate sheet that says blower motor bad needs replaced and tells me if it's under warranty (which of course it won't be but I'll expound upon that next) it'll be $925 and if its not it'll be a whopping $2083!! Holy Fuck-a-roonies!! I know motors are expensive, but dayam!

So, warranty was never registered with manufacturer.... of course it wasn't Lance, you silly boy.

Sooooo. I tell em I'm going to think about it and he's says he'll look for the part and try to get it tomorrow. Ok pal. Bullshit Alarm is at DefCon 5!

Sooooo. I go up the ladder after he leaves, get the part number of said proprietary motor and fire up the ol' Google Machine. Well, well, well Lancey Boy...shockingly I was able to order the exact motor from Grainger for...ready???...$284 bucks. I shit you not! With overnight shipping it was $380 & delivered by 10am today.

I then fired up the YouTube Machine and low and behold, there are HVAC guys showing how to, step by step, install this bad mo-fo! This guy was all like I'm making this video because the industry is anit-DIY!...so, literally 6 screws and 3 bolts later and in 35 minutes guess what? I HAVE COLD ASS AIR pumping all up in this bad ass mofo home!

So in closing, Lance is a fuckin ass liar and obviously G.B. encourages this shit to happen. Its certainly ok to make a profit, but this is Unethical Bullshit. 700% mark up!! I'm going to file a complaint with the state. Do not ever even consider these thieving pricks.

Worst service I ever had for HVAC service. I spent two weeks freezing because of poor service personnel and no management assist. That was Jan. Today, mar 1, I was screwed again by having a checkup cancelled with no notification.

STAY AWAY from this company. Very, very dissatisfied here.

I have a maintenance contract with George Brazil for my two air conditioners. They also installed my units 8 and 10 years ago. I want to keep my units running which is why I purchased the maintenance agreement. The maintenance needs to be done every 6 months. They were out here Jan of 2022. My next maintenance was supposed to be scheduled around this time (July 2022). I called on Monday the 18th of July and was told a technician would call me back to schedule an appointment. It is July 20th and no one has called. I called customer service today and was told he could schedule the appointment. (why couldn't Mondays Customer Service schedule the appointment?  I was told they are totally booked up and no appointment is available until Sept 29!!  I am very dissatisfied with the run around and hope my AC holds up with no maintenance for two more months.

There was a pact made between myself and another person that if there's no good review to be posted, then post nothing at all. The actions of this company and their representatives are so egregious, and so outrageously dishonest, that I can not let it pass unannounced publicly. We were advised our twenty year old unit's compressor is completely bad, and your unit is R-22, so you will need an entirely new unit! This my friends is and was a complete lie. The problem with the unit could not even be confused with a compressor problem it all, by the most rudimentarily trained HVAC tech. The claim the compressor was bad and cannot be repaired and that the unit takes R-22, thus the only resolution to buy a new unit, is a complete and total fabrication. This company needs investigation by our undercover agents of the Attorney General of Arizona. What a disgrace. The sales men, whom they have the gall to call repair technicians, are indeed trained to do this very thing word for word, I've a suspicion George Brazil in Phoenix probably hires felons, as they would be highly unlikely employees to raise a stink and lose a job that's hard to come by. What a disgrace, what a shame. This is incredible this company is doing business like this in this day and age, it reminds you of the old old days before State regulations and laws were put into place. Shame on you, George Brazil. Shame.

Why does this ALWAYS happen...? Come 4th of July or some other holiday, when you plan to have a lot of friends over: your fridge is full of food, and you decide to have the party indoors because the weather forecast  predicts 107 to 110° F.... One of two things happens... GUARANTEED..!
Either the fridge breaks down... or the A/C stops working...! This year it was the A/C..!
We always have LIKED George Brazil -- because their service is really very good and -- most of all -- they are honest!  But from now on WE LOVE George Brazil --  the reason being DANNY VAN ECKHOUTTE!! He arrived in a great mood with a smile on his face,  and after carefully listening to our account about the demise of our A/C unit, he answered confidently Then let me get up on the roof now and see what we can do to get it up and running for you again! And then he added something very important: You see, although my job is to repair and install A/C and Heating units, I see myself most of all as being in the 'helping people business'! When we heard that, it showed us right away that not only was this man a highly qualified service specialist in his field, but also a kind and thoughtful human being. He spent quite some time up on the roof -- in brutal heat -- in order to diagnose the cause of our A/C unit's breakdown and to draw up a solid repair plan. In order to speed up the repair, DANNY said he would personally pick up the necessary parts at George Brazil headquarters, instead of ordering them (which meant saving several days that we otherwise would have had to spend either at a hotel or in our hot house, surrounded by all possible sizes of fans....!!) Instead, DANNY returned to our house 4 hours later, went straight up to the roof -- repaired, what could be salvaged and installed all necessary new parts.
What a relief it was, when our A/C unit
kicked in a few hours later.... and cold air began flowing through the air vents again... When DANNY  got down from the roof again, he was as happy as we were. When we thanked him for his great and fast work, he explained that while he is on a emergency-call job, he considers his customers just like family, because he does for them the exact same quality  job  he would do for his family members! And nothing gives me greater pleasure than seing my customers happy! That makes me smile and I know I did my job right!, DANNY added. Like before, George Brazil A/C & Heating Service is the Repair & Upkeep Service of our choice. We highly recommend this honest and very professional company! But now you understand, why we now  -- after having met DANNY -- LOVE  George Brazil!  Because he is not only outstanding at his job, but an exceptional and kind person!

My air conditioner was making a small noise so I called the company. And the technician came out and lied about it needing coolant and oil. Then they quoted $14K to replace it. How stupid do you think your customers are? This is probably the most unprofessional and unethical company I've ever dealt with!

Since my last review, George Brazil was called out to make a repair on my unit. No upselling which was fantastic! The repair was done in a timely fashion with high quality. A positive resolution was reached with regard to cost factors and causation. In conclusion, I was very pleased with the outcome. They really went the extra mile!

We have been loyal platinum members for many years which entitled us to reasonable response time.  Suddenly, this has become a nightmare.  I now receive a day (not a two hour or four hour block of time) when I can expect service.  They refuse to tell me whether or not it will be in the AM or PM!  If I am first on the list great - they will come and then I can go about my day.  If I am late on the list that's OK too.  With this new policy I am a prisoner in my home because I have no idea when to expect the technician to arrive until they call me and tell me that they are on the way.  

They are very expensive and the least that I can expect is a block of time shorter than an entire day.

I am severely disappointed in the service I continue to get from George Brazil. My Air/Heat Combo unit was installed by George brazil in June of 2016. Today during a maintenance check I was told there is growth in my unit and that it has been there a while. The technician sent me a video text to my phone. I texted him back and asked if he was going to be cleaning that. No response. When the tech came down of the roof I told the technician that my unit is serviced regularly by George brazil and he asked me if the last tech said anything. When I responded, No, he said sometimes techs are not that great. He then said he sees growth on Trane units all the time The fix is to install an Air Scrubber for $1600.00. I did my homework on Trane units and that statement is not at all what I found.
I asked if he cleaned the growth of the unit he said, No it's not part of the maintenance package, but if it I wanted the air scrubber installed he would clean it all.
I appreciate that UPSELLING might be something the company trains its technicians to do but my unit is less than 5 old and I've had regular maintenance on it since install and it's always been with George Brazil and I think it is ridiculous that the cleaning growth inside the unit is not part of maintenance. In Arizona we live in a dry climate for most of the year so I do not agree that it's been there for a long time and if it was, why would the previous tech not acknowledge and frankly if memory serves me correctly the previous tech needed to complete a repair of sorts as well. The previous technician had installed a trap to my condensation line as he stated the installers did not complete it correctly. I starting to believe it is the companies practice to upsell the customer every time.
When I contacted George Brazil customer service, I was told that my maintenance package would have not covered cleaning as it was probably not available when I purchased the unit. However I renewed the VIP maintenance package in the last 6 months in the last visit. If it was renewed recently than any service in the current package should be included.  The customer service representative said they would send a warranty representative out to look at the growth. When the representative came to the residence, it was the same story, its not covered. If I do not want to install the air scrubber there would be a cleaning fee of $215.00. I informed the technician that I was not going to be paying an extra charge for maintenance on a unit that was installed and never touched by another company.
George brazil calls the maintenance package their VIP package. However, there is NOTHING VIP about it. They run a hose over the exterior of the unit and give you readings from the unit. They do not even come inside and measure the Splits between the temperature going in and out of the unit! How is that making sure the unit is running at 100% operation? And if this growth gets to circulate in my home that now is a health hazard!

My son moved into his 1st home. A small 900 sq feet duplex.  Upon bringing things in found A/C would not work. Since it was a Weekend called George Brazil.  They sent out a young man who found the wiring to the thermostat were not properly attached.  He went up on the roof and checked the wiring up there, came down and said it would $215 or we could pay $185 and have them come out again (for nothing) and check A/C again next year. What part of this B.S. don't I understand?  

Since this has happened I have talked to several customers who also said they were charged high prices for little work. I have found that their Tech's work on commission and get a cut of the profits.  1st time and last time for George Brazil.   REMEMBER GEORGE BRAZIL, YOU CAN'T PUT A PRICE ON WORD OF MOUTH ADVERSTISING !!!!!

By far the worst service ever.  Put in a brand new unit. Bought the very expensive service plan.  Called to schedule regular maintenance, couldn't get us in for 4 months.  Now the 2 year old unit is down, been calling then since Thursday, no part available, no ETA to fix and no other options offered.  Promised us a temporary cooling unit, then told us it's not available.  Would never recommend again to anyone.

One of the dumbest  excuses I ever heard was today. I've had a scheduled appointment to check my AC system before the summer kicked in over a month ago. I'm being proactive and smart to make sure my AC system is in good health before before it becomes a million degrees. I literally got a call yesterday today to confirm my appointment.. As of today I get another call saying that my appointment is going to be rescheduled to September and then put on a waiting list and hopes that someone is available to Maybe complete be complete my AC check up. Their excuse was basically saying that there are more important matters at hand with peoples ac's failing. I'm like I'm making sure my ac is in good health so I don't have any issues when it really gets hot.   They had no response to logic.  I cannot wait until my warranty is up so so I can find a better company that's willing to take care of their customers.  I took time off of work and had an appointment for a month. This is absolutely stupid and unnecessary.

We bought a very expensive heat pump from George Brazil because we wanted something energy efficient. It's still under warranty. I appreciate that it isn't George Brazil's fault that it's broken literally every year, but we've been really unhappy with it. On the upside, George Brazil has been very responsive in getting someone out to fix it. They even put us in a hotel for several nights when they couldn't get a part in a timely manner. My main issue is how the routine maintenance appointments have gone. While some techs are great, most try a really hard sale on duct cleaning and other questionable services. They always start with something that is the customer's fault--you use an air filter that is too restrictive, just buy the cheap ones, but if you do that then you are not changing your filter enough (we change it once a month, always) and your ducts are really dirty followed by a hard sale. If you say no, the techs get really snippy. This time in addition to what I've realized is a scripted sales pitch, I was told our unit was pulling too many amps and that an after market part could fix this and save us money. Unlike duct cleaning, if our under-warranty unit is pulling too many amps, that seems like something that should be covered by warranty. I feel like over the six years I've been doing business with George Brazil, they've really incentivized sales with their techs (they play a little victory sound for techs who get a sale in addition to who knows what else) and it makes for really unpleasant customer interactions. When it's time to replace this horribly unreliable unit we'll likely go in another direction.

The electrical in some of our home just mysteriously stopped working on a Saturday morning. We called and a technician was at our home within a couple of hours. He told us the approximate cost would be depending on what he found.

He was very thorough and explained everything he'd be doing to investigate the problem. Every step of the way, he told us what he was checking.

It took a little over an hour for him to find and fix the problem. He was very personable and efficient.

We will definitely be calling George Brazil for all our electrical needs!

I'm in sticker shock.  I bought their Ultimate Home Care package in May 2022 on a new York Gas Pack and now I have Buyers Remorse. The price of my Unit plus the Service and Warranty is $6000 more than just installing the Unit!!   How can their Service Plan be worth that much money over 10 years?  How did I let myself get talked into that kind of money? The last AC I bought before this unit, I paid $1000 for a 10 year Warranty!   At least George Brazil  did do a great job installing the new York unit. Hopefully this INSANE price I agreed to will be worth it.  Do yourself a favor.  If you need a new AC unit call about 10 to 15 companies to get price comparisons.

What a disaster. I purchased a new AC unit in July from them that went ok. I needed to replace my second unit in August and what a cluster. These guys are incompetent. The new unit was installed on 9/7. Immediately we knew something was wrong. They sent a warranty repair tech to our home on 9/9. This is what is taken directly off his workorder. found blower speed set to 1800 instead of the required 1600 cfm. Lowered the fan speed. Coil box was not properly supported on buck corner. Water was not draining properly and overflow into secondary. I added iso pads to correct the pitch and correct drainage. Will follow up to rotate condensor (they installed the condensor unit outside wrong) and install correct filter grill. It took over a week to get them back out. In the meantime, I received 2 phone calls from their collections department requesting payment in full. Each time I told them I would be happy to pay once the work was complete. Before they returned to fix everything, I received a letter from them threatening to cancel my warranty, put a lien on my property and send me to collections among other things. On the day they did come and fix everything I did pay in full. They also did a good job of trashing my home. Water all over my carpet, nicks in the wall, etc. As you can imagine I was not happy. I called them and asked for the President of the company's email so I could write him my frustrations but they refused to give it to me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Never been treated so poorly by a company in my life. Pretty sure they don't care by the attitudes their employees project.

So these guys are running a commercial right now for free diagnosis. Call them on Friday evening, they came out on Monday morning.  

My house is only 2 1/2 years old so I didn't really think anything would be wrong with it but I was totally surprised when Jason educated me on things to keep my HVAC running smoothly, that I would've of never known.

It's great when you have someone that you can trust and I guarantee I will not go anywhere else.

This morning at 6am, I noticed that our water heater was leaking.  Nice, brown, ugly, water leak marks flowing down our nicely white painted wall in the garage.  Jokingly, I knew it was going to be a great Sunday morning!  One of my biggest fears as a homeowner is entering my garage just to see that the water heater has leaked water everywhere.  Thankfully, my darkest fear was not realized, but I had reason to be alarmed.  Not only did I need someone to fix this problem quickly, but I knew I was going to be out of a lot of money, which most definitely added to my stress.  I called around to see who in the valley would quickly respond and help drain the water heater, which was not draining at all, and help me avoid further water damage.  I spoke with a number of companies, but by far George Brazil Plumbing was the best.  They immediately answered when I called and started to help.  I was placed first in line and received a call when they opened at 8am that a Certified Technician was being dispatched immediately.  I could feel a sense of calm - help was on the way.  I was able to track the Tech on my iPhone as he made his way from the west valley to our home in Scottsdale.  This is a great feature, by the way.  Mr. Thomas Keane was assigned our call.  This is where things went from great to excellent.  I'm not sure in my entire life I've ever met a more professional and customer focused service leader than Tom.  He immediately brought calm to the situation.  He took time to really listen to my concerns.  He then began bringing solutions to the problem and told me everything would be ok.  He was great about answering my questions.  He never once made me feel like there was a bad question.  He was patient and understanding and even taught me things about how best to maintain my new water heater.  My experience with Tom was wonderful and he is truly an asset to the company.  He's also extremely humble.  I told him how much I appreciated his great help and committed that I would write a positive review, as I often like to do.  He is extremely humble and commented that a review on the company is always appreciated, although, he never asks for reviews.  Ironic, but I suspect Tom gets plenty of great reviews on his own without even needing to ask - just a sign of the great customer service leader he is.  On behalf of my wife, I want to extend a sincere thanks to George Brazil for providing great service to the valley.  And a special thanks to Mr. Tom Keane (Certified Technician) for taking such great care of our family today.

I do not recommend GB for any AC and Heating Work. PHX executive for 12 years and have had a horrible experience.  Purchased a new $13K AC/Heating unit. It took 4 install appointments to install. Every tech had a different reason why it didn't work and that it was now working. 30 days later the AC stop working. Not one day but 3 days to get a tech. He came and everything is working great. Went on vacation to Maui and returned to the upstairs at 88 degrees. Called and so sorry but we can't get out there for three days. Tech came out and fixed the problem, everything is working great. Less than thirty day later, upstairs is 89 degrees. Called and two days to get a tech, really? Then says oh no I can get someone out there tomorrow afternoon.  Ok.  Can I talk to a manager, this has been a poor experience?  No, but you can talk to a retention specialist, but they leave at 4pm and it is 4:05pm.  They are gone for the day. I can request a call back, but I can't tell you when they call back, it is first come first serve. I said, I have had 7 trips on this piece of junk. She said, sorry but I will request a call back.  Waiting for the technician tomorrow.  I have owned 8 homes and replaced 5 units. Worst experience ever. DO NOT USE GEORGE BRAZIL!

Worst customer service I have ever experience and trying to make a quick buck. I just moved into my house as a first time homeowner and noticed the AC was weak coming into two bedrooms. I am new to everything when it comes to homeownership and still learning.

I called and got a same day appointment and the tech showed up to my house asking me what's going on and I told him that the two rooms were getting barely any airflow to the rooms. His response? So what do you want me to do about it? I don't know! That's why I called you guys to come out in the first place. I told him if he could look at the air ducts to see what's going on and he did for about 5-10 minutes and said that they would have to replace all the air ducts in the house which would be $15,000. To top off the horrible experience he left insulation all over the ground after he said he vacuumed it.

Today, I brought in actual professionals and they took a look at the ducts, were here for about 45 minutes, identified the problem and said that all they had to do was add a Wye splitter and that's all I needed to get air flow into the two rooms, costing a total of $3000.

Worst $79.95 I've ever spent and will never take a second look at your company and will do my due diligence to make sure no one I know personally even considers using your service.

Bought 2 units, 2 and 3 years ago. Going to start charging them rent because they are here so often! Both a/c units go down multiple times a season and a week later they go down again. Don't know if it's technicians or junk product but I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!!

Would not buy from or utilize their services ever again. Had AC's installed by them and had nothing but problems. Literally had techs out 10+ times for various problems; including the installers forgot to wire the furnace. Every time an issue occurs, they want to try to charge for services that should be warranty. Takes no responsibility for tech/installer/equipment problems. Call takers are rude and condescending.  Nearly $20k in equipment and more problems than any other AC I've ever owned.

On August 30 my air conditioner was not working properly, the unit was running but the blower was not working. My oldest son went to the attic and found the pan under the blower upstairs was full of water. He drained the water, came down and suggested we call a service. We tried a local service but they did not have a person available so we called George Brazil because my son had seen their tv commercials. They agreed to come out the next morning at 8 am. The service person was Named Brian, he was here on time, professional and listened to my description of what happened with the air. The house was cooling still but at a slower rate. He went into my attic. Was up there quite a while. And when he came down he told me that it didn't look good., that it was the original (1998 ) unit and that there was two parts up there that would need replaced and each would cost at least $2000.00 each. Of course he said I needed a whole new Ac unit at approximately $12000.00 I told him I would speak to my son and also get a second opinion. He acted like he was insulted and told me he had been doing this for over 30 years. He also told me i needed to decide and call him within the day or he wouldn't have an appointment open to replace the unit. Needless to say I called another Local company called Mason Pro services, they came same day told me the unit could be repaired, also told me it was not the original unit but a 2008 model and that the first repairman had not told the truth. It wasn't even the parts he mentioned that needed replaced for $4000.00. Anyway it is fixed and running nicely and it cost a few hundred dollars, not $12000.

I want to like this company, but when we rearrange our schedules to be home between 8 and 12, and they never show up, and we have to follow up to find out they are short staffed??  Seriously, customer service is only good when you buy an air conditioning unit, but then falls apart after that.

After a very long night of 95+ Temps in our home and trying to find a emergency service repair place with no luck, I called George Brazil at 630am.  The voice on the phone was courteous and helpful, didn't try to upsell a maintenance program like the Melvins, and assured me a person would be out between noon and 4.  At 11:45 I got a call that Chris was on his way.  He was able to diagnose the issue, replace the part and assured my hubs that everything looked good.  We are now trying to cool down the house and George Brazil has a customer for life.  Thank you for not taking advantage in a tough situation, for sending someone right away and for being the gold standard business model.

We have a a/c unit on our house that was bought and installed by George Brazil. We have the warranty and maintenance contract. Approx 3 weeks ago we called because the unit was not blowing any air hot or cold. When it did try to come on the whole house vibrated . Two techs from the company came out and said the blower motor was bad. They did not have the correct part so they installed a different motor so that we could have a/c. It has worked perfect while waiting on the correct motor. Yesterday I received a call that they were on the way to install the correct motor. After they were done with the job and gone my wife called and said the a/c was vibrating and not blowing cold like before. When I got home I had to turn the unit off. The compressor was coming on but no air flow. I did not want to ruin the compress. I asked my wife how long were they on the roof and how long was the unit shut off? She said the unit was never off the whole time the techs were on the roof! The company must have the best magicians known! I do not know how you can install a new blower motor and wheel with out shutting down the unit! I called the company at 11:30 today and the girl said she would have someone from their customer complaint group call me. I just called back because I have not heard from anyone. The guy told me sorry they have been on the phone! So 4 hours later and no call! They must be on the phone all day with customer issues! I do not know if the whole company is shady and crooked or if it was the 2 techs that came to us yesterday. Crappy way to deal with customers in this heat!                John fletcher

We contacted  George Brazil based on their impressive advertising and reputation. We just wanted annual maintenance on our AC unit. The appointment was 3 weeks out. I took the day off work to be available. On the day of the appointment they said they had to cancel due to a large number of emergency requests. That made sense but they were unable to reschedule my appointment. They said they would put me on their call back list but over a month later I have not heard from them.

Not a great experience...i never actually received service from them.  I made my appointment about a week ahead of time for them to do a seasonal AC check.  The appointment was supposed to be 4/5/2021...called and said they had a number of customers that had ac outages and they couldn't make the appointment for today which is understandable but when they asked to reschedule they said they didn't have another appointment until 5/6/2021.  I would think since i had an appointment on 4/5 and that THEY rescheduled due to not being able to make it they would find time to get me in sooner than that.  Oh well...they lost out on a potential life long customer as i will be seeking out another company.

ALL I CAN SAY IS BUYER BEWARE!!! I had them to my home for an estimate to add six electrical outlets,  install a ceiling fan, 2 light fixtures and up lighting for my kitchen cabinets which I was told was a 1 person/1 day job and I was supplying the fan and lights. They were pushing me to have the work done on the spot during the visit and all they tried to do was upsell me services that were not needed including all new circuit breakers in my electrical panel (house is only 20 years old and beyond maintained) along with other items. And their estimate for the work was...... **$9000** including 2 charges of $465 each for the USE of a 16' ladder!!! That means they wanted me to pay an electrician more than $1000 hour! THIS SHOULD BE CRIMINAL since it is quite obvious that they prey on people who have not gotten other quotes from other established licensed and insured electrical contractors!!! SHAME ON YOU GEORGE BRAZIL. And to all their employees, don't check your ethics at the door. Find a job that has ethics,  morals and respects both their employees and customers!

Stolen deposit of $5k on work that was never performed. canceled HVAC install 2 days after quote and 1 day prior to install. HVAC new system install quote done by Emmanuel Diaz on 6/3/22. We decided to schedule install for Monday 6/6/22 with a clear understanding that it can be canceled because I wanted a few days to research a few things. After I left to go to work my wife remained to wrap up the scheduling. She gave Emmanuel $5k deposit. I cancelled the install the day before on Sunday 6/5/22 as I had another quote scheduled on Monday 6/6/22. Decided to go with Goettl instead. We called George Brazil to have deposit refunded and were told it was no problem. Chris said the refund system was down and was it okay to send a check?  We said yes. After verifying our address a check was sent Per Chris on 6/7/22. The check never showed up. 4 Calls later still no resolution. They will not let me speak directly to billing department. They promise to call back and never do. They said the check was sent without tracking information. It seems like they are doing everything possible to avoid this refund on work never performed. Saying the system is down then saying they mailed the check without tracking 3 weeks ago is fishy. I have been repeatedly denied the ability to speak with billing department directly. They have stolen $5k from me

DO NOT trust George Brazil for Air Conditioning. Customer Service was non-existent.

Service tech came out on 7/7/20 to assess why my AC unit is not cooling. He pumped 2 lbs of refrigerant into it at $140 a pound. He then quoted the repair being $280 which my wife agreed to with the understanding this would fix the problem.  He told her AFTER he put the refrigerant in that the system was leaking. Upon knowing this, she questioned his decision to put expensive fluid into a leaking system without first determining where it's leaking and repairing it FIRST. So-$280 was the charge at this point. We agreed to pay the charge.

I arrived shortly later and service tech told me the system possibly had a flow restriction, was icing up and was leaking leaking from an undermined source. I immediately wondered why he recharged it with fluid!  He didn't bring a ladder to examine the remaining system in the attic. I supplied my own ladder and systems filters, so he agreed to check the attic unit and place the filters in the unit.
After coming down he advised he pumped another 2 lbs of fluid into the system again without finding the leak, and WITHOUT my knowledge he was putting more fluid into it. My wife and I questioned the leak issue again, and he quickly said there are NO guarantees with his service whatsoever. He never checked his work.
He said the charge is now $560 which I reluctantly paid.

He never checked the proper operation before leaving and we realized the system wasn't cooling in the days to come. Nothing was fixed.

I'm raising this concern with regards to the 100% satisfaction guarantee written on my invoice.
It's very unethical as a professional AC service to not fully explain the problem and advise us NOT to waste refrigerant in a system that is believed to be leaking, not been repaired first, or is unable to be repaired, and ultimately cannot cool the house. We depended on the expertise of the service technician and as a result we were charged $560 without any positive outcome whatsoever.

HERE'S THE BIGGEST ISSUE:

My wife and I called George Brazil repeatedly for over a week, voicing our concern with BEING CHARGED $560 AND OUR UNIT STILL DOESN'T COOL.

We were promised a call back by management- no calls. Not one over two weeks.
At one point they told us they couldn't find any visit to our home in their system and so asked us to send an email describing the problem. I sent a detailed email, gave them the invoice number and again, NO REPLY.
We are extremely dissatisfied with GEORGE BRAZIL and soon realized asking about their 100% satisfaction guarantee results in no answer, and zero concern for us.

We had a tech come out for our AC unit, just before he arrived our puppy had an accident, we cleaned it up and moped the floor before he had arrived.
We he came in I apologized to him, he was in the house for two minutes, he went and got his bag and went to the gate to walk to the backyard.
He said we need new AC units and he would get a sales person out this evening.
I get a call from the company about an hour latter telling me that the tech said he was feeling sick from the smell, and he would not send anyone over to the house until we cleaned up the smell!
This entire experience has been humiliating!

AC started blowing hot air at 104 degrees.  Called other companies but no same day service.  Talked to Chris at George Brazil in the morning and he had a technician here by 12:30.  The technician called ahead and was on time, courteous and professional.   The call was free as part of a promotion, the problem clearly explained and estimate provided.  I spent under $1,000 for the repairs and chose some future maintenance calls.  In short, I was very happy to have the AC working in such a short turn around time.  Will use them again.

Quick and professional service but get a second quote my friend--these guys were thousands more for one residential AC system...thousands of dollars more than their competition, over 30% more and they were not willing to give any type of discount and no ability to discuss price, take it or leave it. Over priced - always seem to find a $2,000 problem every 6 months on units turning 8 this year.  Today, they came for routine maintenance but the guy comes in and tells me I need 4 parts - each $450 (plus tax) for prevention items - one is to prevent the units from not starting hard so electricity does not jolt the system.
That was the first $1,000 he wanted me to fork over.  The second was to replace the unit that ran the fans on each unit because they had wear and tear.  That was going to cost me another $1,000.  I asked to see pictures and he shows me the photos below - 2 are the same but it's supposed to be from 2 separate units.  The other is supposed to show signs of burning - don't see that at all and even the guy looked sheepish trying to explain his way out of it.  
I said I was going to get a second opinion before forking over 2 grand for what I'm thinking are problems that don't exist and suddenly he brought up - the discounts.  
At that point I could not think of anything but getting this crook out of my house and away from my units.  
Seriously- RUN from this place!  The work might be ok but you probably don't need any of it to start with.  If you have to pay $2,000 twice a year for maintenance items on your A/C units, you could just buy new units every 4 years and skip the slow painful bleeding they inflict on your finances.  
With a company like this - looking to gouge for every little thing - you never know when they are telling the truth and you really need something.  And if you need it, it will still be overpriced.
Stay away!  Ask friends and neighbors who they've used and get a good recommendation.  Good luck!

Really disappointed in their service. After spending $16,000 with them on 2 AC units I practically have to beg to get a service appointment. Last year they put me off for 8 months before getting over their covid-phobia and sending someone for spring maintenance in October. This year I had to wait 2 months for an appointment for spring maintenance only to get canceled the day before. Unable to rebook for yet another month. I wish I would have stayed with the other company who didn't over-promise.

What in the hell kind of place is this ?
With hidden camera, we watched this guy tighten one washer and try to charge our elderly grandparents $1200 and up sell them to hell and back.
After much protest, the bill was lowered to $400 but OMG what ripoff artists.
Run like the wind away from this business.

I called George Brazil Air Conditioning as my upstairs A/C unit was blowing warm air.  The technician, Manny,  showed up on time, was polite, and in 10 min diagnosed the issue as a bad capacitor in the outside unit.  He gave me a quote to replace the capacitor of $400 to $600.  I asked him 3 times to make sure I understood the estimate.  $400 to $600 to replace a $35 part that takes 10 minutes to fix!  Thank goodness I was home and knew how much a capacitor cost and since he pointed it out with the panel open, I knew it was a quick swap.  What a ripoff.  And, it just so happens I ran into a neighbor later in the day who had his replaced for $60 from a mom and pop operation.  I will never call George Brazil again!!

Just had the company out as our air conditioner went out. Had called a few places b4 connecting with them. The order process was good except the really don't seem to train their people even when a trainee is taking the order with a trainer at the side. So, I was told that the service fee/travel fee would be waved/added to the service bill if service was needed. Service was needed. Nothing was said that it didn't apply to after hour calls. TRAIN YOUR PEOPLE. TRAIN YOUR TRAINERS. So this was a 2 fer.......1st and last time I will use them.

We used George Brazil because they were the first company who could get here on a Sunday that eventually reached 115 degrees.  The Tech was here when promised and communicated that arrival on two occasions.  He was clean and presentable and came off as knowledgeable and competent.  
Our 15 year old machine needed a capacitor and a hard start kit, both of which can be had for under $100 from a reputable appliance parts supplier.  It took the tech less than a 30 minutes to install them and I paid $1200 for the service.  They do not charge by the hour but if they did that'd be a ridiculous amount compared to other home services, I would argue.  It is outrageous to say the least and I felt burned, taken advantage of. I would also say tht the tech was as adept as selling that high-priced service as he seemed to be at fixing the unit.
So, I think a 3 is a fair appraisal on my part.  It's probably about what I'd give myself for the way I handled My Air Conditioning Emergency.
They are very good, as far as that goes, but you need very deep pockets to afford that quality and I would recommend a hotel and some research before you call these guys in an emergency,  and ask for a price estimate before the tech does anything.  A lot of AC companies are good and many are reasonably priced. These guys are not.  Be forewarned.

My AC was out on one of the hottest days of the year, and of course other AC companies said they were all booked up and couldn't fit me in until who knows when.  The folks at George Brazil answered their phone (which others did, too - I'll give them that) AND were able to come out to my home in less than an hour.  It was an easy fix, thank goodness, and I wasn't changed.  The service tech Rose was great and very reassuring and efficient.  Two thumbs up!

I want to give an amazing thank you to Hank Wesloski for his professionalism and customer care service he has shown us.  Me and my husband talked to Hank with George Brazil and different companies before we had a new 5 ton York air conditioner installed on Thursday....previously we had a 4 ton that was not cooling our backrooms which were added on 10 years ago.  We thought we were going to have to buy a splitter or another A/C unit for the back of our home but after Hank came out on a Saturday and looked at everything possible he came up with a solution that no other company did that saved us a ton of money.   Hank made the process so  easy and followed up with us every step of the way like measuring everything like the returns, electric panel, and calling us to keep us updated on every step.  He even called 3 days prior to let us know the exact date and time and then as a bonus his office called to make sure we knew when the installer would be arriving.  When Hank was at our home I mentioned that our youngest daughter just bought a house and that the A/C was running all the time and to my surprise he asked if he could look at it and we gave her Hank's number and she called him and he came out on a Sunday and got her set-up to have the coils and ductwork cleaned.  I wish more companies had employees like Hank.  
The day of the installation we had Tourin C  who called ahead of time and let us know he was on his way with the new A/C and crane. Tourin was also very professional and polite from start to finish. He showed us how to use the the new thermostat, replaced 2 new returns, redirected the drip line, just did so many things to mention.  
My experience has been wonderful beyond words and I highly recommend calling Hank with George Brazil and having Tourin install.  If you need to know anything or having doubts about who to call it's worth the phone call to George Brazil but make sure you ask for Hank and Tourin.  You can also contact me if you need a real person experience.

First they called the morning they were supposed to be here to tell me they were too busy to check my air conditioning units that they sold to me three years ago for lots of money! I then called a supervisor to have the time rescheduled as I had already taken three hours off from work to be around for them the first time. Then they called me a week later and gave me a different time they could arrive which is not a time I could be here. Then the passive aggressive response I got from someone was they could check my units months from now. I have used George Brazil for numerous jobs in my house and spent thousands of dollars. Never again and I will not have them come to the new home I just purchased. Shop locally!

Upstairs A/C unit only blowing ambient air. I called to make an appointment.  The lady that answered the phone was so unbelievably rude and did not want to help me. She said they were completely booked. I understand these things but asked to get on a schedule when they could make it out. Having a bad day is really no excuse for berating customers and poor service.  I'll try again tomorrow and hoping to get a receptionist that will book an appointment.

The Service Technician Joe is top notch and takes the time to explain things and provided great service.  Maybe the Technician can give some pointers on customer service to the receptionist. I gave a good rating due to past experience with Technicians.

Had them come out for a quote on a new AC system and they quoted $22k for two 4 ton units. Sent me a quote with just the cost and the manufacturer and their terms and conditions. I sent them 12 questions asking about specific information about the specifications of the system they are quoting (product information etc) and they responded with non answers and then withdrew their proposal. This is the cost of a car. How could they not expect someone to ask questions about the system they are spending this kind of money on?  I called their office to inquire about why they would do this and they totally blew me off. So very disappointed in George Brazil. I have used them for all of my maintenance for the past 7 years and to get treated like this is totally baffling. Needless to say I won't ever be using them again.

UPDATE: A representative from George Brazil did in fact respond to this review and sent me a message on Yelp stating that they will be contacting me to rectify the situation. However, no one ever did contact me and it is obvious they are only concerning with appearing to care about the customer on Yelp when in fact they truly don't. After reading some of the other unflattering reviews for George Brazil I have to unfortunately agree with them. Too bad too, because I used to consider them as a very reputable company. My recommendation is don't waste your time with them.

George Brazil service is corrupt - don't use them. I had them out for an annual AC inspection and they said the fan was leaking oil and needed to be replaced - the price was $700 with parts and labor. Then I found out the fan was under warranty (after they told me it wasn't) and they said the price was $600! Only $100 off for the entire new fan?! He said it would take less than 2 hours so the price is over $300 per hour!!

He also said our filter was dirty and needed to be replaced. We showed him it was replaced last week (the filter was marked with the date) so he changed his recommendation and said it just looked dirty in the light.

We called and asked for a manager but the manager never called back, because he was at lunch. He did seem to have time to call the technician, however, and he ended up putting the old motor back in.

This is my second incident where George Brazil was over charging for service. The first time I let it go as a misunderstanding but now it is clear they intentionally overcharge and look for reasons to overbill!

Do not use George Brazil in Phoenix, AZ.

Refinanced a new ac unit for 7000 dollars for it to be installed. The next day I came home from work to find my hallway up stairs soaked with water and my wall wet. Upon my arrival in the attic noticed the drip pan was completely caved in and water was running out into my roof. All three bed room lights and the two restroom lights weren't working due to breaker being busted. Called George Brazil they sent someone the next day to fix the problem which he did. They said they would fix everything else that they damaged and all they did was send someone to set up two big fans and leave them on for five days. After they picked up there fans never heard back about anything tried calling and got the run around.

It took almost 2 weeks bit George Brazil sent an outstanding young man that was courteous and knowledge to fix our original installation problems and promised to pay for the charges incurred from the competition that had to come do the makeshift repairs till Brazil came out... So all in all everything is turning out OK.

As a follow up to the follow up.... Our issues were finally resolved and we were reimbursed by George Brazil for the amount of the service fee from the competitor. It is 112 degrees outside and our home is cool so all is good.

I was just getting ready to call them to check on the cost of doing a furnace and air duct cleaning.

Very disappointed! Overcharged on a simple fan replacement. Charged 1275 for a job that should have been 500. Will never call George Brazil again. Sad. This company has not lived up to its past reputation. They are being dishonest in there practices. If you decide to use them be very vigilant and careful.
So George Brazil has an opportunity to fix the situation and they respond with a joke. This is an example of a company that treats its customers with disdain. You have a complaint and they mock you. So sad to see a once great company become just another bad actor. Sad.

$79.99 to show up during regular business hours to do an ac check. We figured it was a blown capacitor and even mentioned when scheduled.  Sure enough a blown capacitor was bad.  I figured they would charge me $100-$150 for the 5 minute fix and a cheap part.  I was BLOWN AWAY when George Brazil wanted $406 to replace the part.  Part ended up costing me $17 for the part.  Will NEVER call them again.  They could have warned me they charge outrageous pricing for simple fixes.

DO NOT do business with this shitty company. They use to be a good company but these last 4-6 weeks two out of three technicians that they have sent out to look at my AC have been unprofessional, jerks and are simply dumber than a bag of rocks. The first clown that they sent out whose name is Kelly the first words out of his mouth to my wife when she answered the door was Are you going to buy the service contract?  I said can we get our AC checked out after all that is the reason why we asked you to come out in the first place. He goes up to the roof where the AC is located and less than 2-3 minutes he comes down, comes in the house and immediately asks are you going to buy the service contract? I said first of all did you find anything wrong with the AC? I said this was supposed to be an inspection as part of my annual check up. He goes back up to the roof and spends a little more time up there and then comes back down and says there is nothing wrong at this time. I said well how much is the service contract and he said $325 and I said well I can't afford that today and that I thought it was cheaper the last time I bought it. He was so quick to leave the house. He was disinterested in a long time customer after he learned I wasn't buying the service contract. I was so annoyed that I called George Brazil and told them how shitty Kelly was. They were apologetic and gave me a free winter check up and said they would send someone back out to do a proper inspection. We asked specifically for Roy because he has been a good technician over the years. He came out and did an inspection and identifies a problem and does a courtesy fix on the same issue we have been having off and on over the years. Well here we are about 4-6 weeks and we noticed water leaking from the AC both inside and outside. So who do I call? George Brazil!

We again specifically ask for Roy because he has been a good technician. The visit is scheduled for 1PM to 5PM and I give them my wife's number to call when they arrive because I will be at work. So at about 420PM I am at work, receive a call but I can't answer because I am work. When it was time for my break about 20 minutes later I call the number back because there was no voicemail. The person that answers the phone said George Brazil and I said I received a call from this number who is this? He said Jason I was just probably calling you because I couldn't get ahold of your wife. I said well why are you there because we asked for Roy and he begrudgingly said well Roy declined to come because he wanted a different set of us on the unit. I said ooookay why didn't anyone call and let us know. He said I don't know I guess they didn't have your number. I said you have my number!!! You just called me about 20 minutes ago. I said well what's wrong with the AC (Not knowing he had just showed up) he said he didn't know because he hadn't gone up the roof yet But first of all your filter is filthy and I said well admittingly I don't change the filter every month but it was changed like two months ago. He said the coils are probably freezing because not enough air flow is getting up there and I said how can we fix it and he cut me off and said I have not been up on the roof yet. He said if I am going to give him attitude (I cut him off) and said you think this is attitude?  You haven't seen attitide. He said maybe I should just leave then and I said yes you should leave my house right now and he hung up. I called George Brazil and told them what happen this time with their piece of shit technician. Now they don't want to do business because the technician Jason said he didn't feel safe. I was at work. He was at my house trying to talk mess in front of my wife and kids and then he wants to say he doesn't feel safe. What a loser. George Brazil is a horrible company. There employees are rude, unprofessional and cry babies. I will make it my mission to let everyone know via social media how crappy this company is.

They canceled twice the way to the very last minute to call you bunch of chickens! After shopping around for a secondary ac unit (the primary unit was a bit too small for the entire house), I met with Ken (sales rep) who came out and presented some options for me.  He was aware that I was shopping and he took a no-bs approach to beat other offers that I had received.  We settled on a deal and the next day, the installers were here.  While these guys did a good job, there was some tweaking that was needed a few days after.  Enter Joe.  Joe came and resolved all of the issues and did an incredibly thorough inspection of the previous work, admitting that he changed some things.  And that's something that I really appreciate - a company who is willing to admit that something could have been done better, and to resolve it.  He was very knowledgeable and informed me (in detail) about what he was doing and most importantly; why.

We have used GB in the past. We have had several issues with our AC that was brand new when we built our home in 2012. The service Technician Roy, that came out in early July told us it would be another 1200 dollars to fix a capacitor. He then proceeded to tell us we need a new unit. The unit would be $14,200. I thought this seemed very high. He also wanted to sell us a $2,000 extended warranty. I thought for that much money the warranty should come with it. He coincided and gave us an extended warranty of sorts. I wrote out a check for $14,200 for the job to be completed on 7.14.2020. The AC crew came as promised on 7.14.2020. They started taking the old unit apart. Before we knew it a technician that shouldn't have been in the attic, stepped on one of our surround sound speakers and it came crashing through the ceiling and almost hit our 6 month old puppy. See pictures attached. When my husband called Roy, he was not very nice and proceeded to use racial slurs against my husband. The incident was reported to GB and we were told that he would be terminated and this was not tolerated, unknown if this really happened. It took them two weeks to repair the hole in our ceiling ( which the guy did a great job) and another week and a half to fix the speaker ( did a great job again, same guy). The be fair for all the chaos they caused the did give us a 2K credit. Fast forward to one month later, 8.14.2020. The AC unit went out at 2pm on a 115 degree day. A tech was sent out and arrived, surprisingly earlier than promised. He was at our home for a total of 20 minutes , blamed the installers for not tightening up a conductor. The AC started to work and all was good. Well for 13 hours, The next day on 8.15.2020, we noticed the house getting warm again ( 115 degree day again) called back to GB, another technician came out and said the guy last night should have replaced the capacitor along with the conductor. He replaced the capacitor and off he went . The AC unit was working again, for 19 hours this time. On Sunday 8.16.2020 ( today) it is currently 113 degrees, we noticed at the same time of day, again, the house was getting very warm. Called GB again and they tried to put us off until tomorrow. The scheduler , finally came back and said a tech will be here between 5-9pm today. I asked to speak with a manager and was told no managers work the weekend. WHAT? There should always be a manager on call for these services.

I KNOW l have been taken advantage of and not treated with respect , to have an expensive, overpriced unit not working after a month is ridiculous. GB is  having technicians come out and put bandaids on it and not fixing the issue. If it is not fixed properly today and I do not hear back from a manager by 8am tomorrow,  8.17.20, I am hiring an attorney and will sue for a full refund plus aggravation and will have an AC properly installed by another valley provider.

The tech showed up on time and with a mask. Although, I have American Home Shield Insurance, I was impatient and wanted the A/C fixed. I am an Electrical Engineer by profession and knew the issue was the Capacitor, a $20 to $30 price for the part but never knew George Brazil charges 20X the part price of the Capacitor to install. After around one hour, my bill was $650.00. Expensive beyond belief. I checked online and all  other A/C companies will charge $100 to install. Do your home work and call around before you settle on George Brazil.

Made an appt. 3 weeks for today (07/20/19) for between 8am-1200 noon. They called this morning saying they were busy and not able to come out until between 10am-2pm. It is now 1240pm and still no service tech has arrived to service my a/s units (4).
I will never use them again or recommend them to anybody.
When I called the office, the man answering the phone had MAJOR attitude as though I was annoying him.

If I could give zero I could I bought two of their highest end units from them three years ago and we have had techs out over 10 times for the heater and air not working. It broke in May and guess what it stopped working again tonight and they can't get anyone out until late tomorrow afternoon. I owned my old unit for over 10 years and had an issue maybe once or twice. I have owned with them and have had issues every 2-3 months. I also have a contract that they won't comply with

Terrible customer service-after a tech broke our fully functioning unit on a standard check-up call, GB had to come out 6 additional times for issues. Smelled burning, AC not working, AC won't shut off-has to turn on our heat in August. Worst customer service and pure incompetence. No transparency and constant excuses. We've never had anything but good service from this company.  Bought a new ac/heating unit from them when our old one went out, and went with the 5 year maintenance contract (twice, since it's been almost 10 years). Staff is thorough and pleasant to work with.  If I forget to call to make the semi-annual checkup appointment (once in Spring, once in Fall) they call me.  

I'm a bit baffled by the low ratings, but I do know that people who have problems are more apt to post reviews than people who have things work out fine.

Thanks to George Brazil my house passed the buyers inspection.  I have had their twice a year maintenance contract for over 10 years.  The inspector showed the buyer pictures of the two attic units and how well maintained they are.  Clean and with obvious repairs.  The inspector said it is the consistency of maintenance that makes the difference.  Thank you to all the George Brazil technicians who have made sure my two units run well and have kept them pristine.

After getting a response from George Brazil, they came at the time agreed to. He spent about an hour checking and cleaning the air conditioners and then about 15 minutes on the furnaces. He left the filters and I put them away after he left. I found that one box he left is the wrong size. Oh well....  I just hope they come this year without me having to get aggravated to get them here.

My mother called George Brazil after our air wasn't working. They came out and checked everything out and said it would cost $1700. My mom wanted a second opinion so she scheduled an appointment with someone my grandma recommended. When this company came out they said it would cost $75. The gentleman that came out said either the guy from Brazil was trying to rip us off, or he just didn't know what he was doing. I would not recommended this company, and my family will not be using them again.

Turnaround for HVAC service is 24 hours in 112 degree heat. When I explained we have a toddler who is not feeling well and fish tanks overheating, the suggestion was to call a different company for service. Our system is 4 years old, was installed by George Brazil, and is under warranty. Maybe - if we use a different company that warranty may be voided. Also not George Brazil's problem - I checked. Just be aware of the risk - techs have always been very polite.

Still have not done business with them, still have not contacted them, still tell them to stop calling me, but they must be as stupid as they are persistent. 02/12 new A/C from George Brazil.
One year free maintenance, lots of problems. Most tech were good while others pushed the maintenance contract.  After almost eight years we paid $2935.00 for maintenance contracts.  Last maintenance contract it was the second visit, different problem.  Over $850.00 for another maintenance contract or purchase a new unit. They would put in a better unit, a York..  Gee, the old one was a York.  We are elderly people, just a sad thing.  After the fact, I hear stories about how bad George Brazil is.

Disappointed.  George Brazil uses a flat rate system which can and did cause an exaggerated charge. I knew they charged a basic charge just to show up and the service tech was good but when the A/C issue wasn't wiring which caused the $250 flat rate, I was told it was a $3.00 fuse. At least the tech didn't charge me for replacing the fuse. So, over $ 250.00 to change a fuse.

To many other A/C companies out there to use good ok George again!

What a bunch of incompetent buffoons. My retired Dad watched too much TV and bought one of their lifetime preferred customer plans. I couldn't get through to a person and left a callback request ( using my cell number) with their service, went around three times where they kept calling the property instead of my cellphone to set up the service call. Three times I sat in queue to reach someone, three times leaving a message. I gave up, threw out my cold dinner, and called a local contractor. Useless company. All advertising, no money left over for customer service.

We've used this outfit a few times, only because my spouse grew up with them and thinks the world of them.  First, we had one of our 2 ac units die.  I was out of town.  The technician replaced it with an over-powered HEAT PUMP instead of a gas pack as we had before.  They gave us what I  believe is a commercial grade  unit. That side of the house is either freezing or, if heat, boiling with the incredibly dry air associated with heat pumps.  Next our water heater died.  Again, I was out of town.  I asked that they install a catch pan underneath the heater (its located indoors in a hallway).  They did not.  They simply took the existing  pan and set it aside.  These folks are awful, overcharge, do not itemize estimates.  It's a crooked outfit.. Avoid unless you want to be their ATM.

Have dealt with GeoBrazil many times before and have 3 ACs in our house, one being a 1-ton unit that cools our 2000 bottle wine cellar.  After being away for 4 months, we come home to find the 1-ton had failed and our cellar was  80F.  Called GeoBrazil immediately, and when the technician arrived, he refused to service the unit, called his boss, who also refused to service the unit. Are you kidding?  It had to be fixed immediately, and these bozos walked away?  That's the end of Geo Brazil for us, we'll take our business elsewhere in future. It was even their guy who serviced it just before we left.  Just disgusted with this company. They said it was too small of a job.

We just had a new AC unit installed today. It was 116 outside which broke a record!! We felt so bad for the 2 guys installing our new unit. But boy did they do an awesome job!! Hediel and his partner Julian were super!! They arrived on time, they completed the work in a timely manner and we now have a beautiful new unit that's blowing cold air!! I would highly recommend George Brazil to anyone needing a great AC unit install!! And I also want to recognize the repairman that came yesterday and realized we needed a new unit. He was awesome and very truthful!! Thank you George Brazil for a job well done!!!

The AC was working, but not that great, so we call George Brazil & set an appointment. This guy shows up, looking like he just broke outta the pen; not the 1950s clean-cut milkman they have depicted in their ads. This character starts snooping around, making comments on items he sees in the house. Oh, ammo? you guys have guns?  NICE. Then he gets to why he's here. Looks at our unit, doesn't go in the attic, and casually hits us with Yeah, you guys need a whole new system. $18,000. I kid you not. So of course I sent him packing.
Later called a medium-sized place, they sent out a guy, he did a much more thorough inspection, and goes, Yes, your system is old. but it's still working. I'll clean the metal fins (forget what it's called), change the filters, and refill the freon. that will make it blow cold again, you'll be good. $375 out the door.
George Brazil is a scam, do your homework, read reviews, Google, Yelp, BBB.

My AC broke late at night. By 4 AM I couldn't take it anymore, searched for Services making calls 24/7. Answering service at George Brazil let me know if I could wait, the regular office hours would start at 7AM.  At 7:01 I made an appointment By 11 AM Jason showed up and quickly got cold air flowing then went up on the roof to finish the job. Great service, excellent price. Very happy. By the way, the other 2 services I called never returned my call. Highly recommended.

This company will take u to the cleaners! I called George Brazil to check my heater that was not heating. They came over and checked the unit and checked the thermostat. They said it was the wrong thermostat. It took them 5 min. to tell me that and charged me $40 for the visit. I got another opinion on it and they said that it was just a wire that needed to be connected in my thermostat. It only took the other guy 5min.
George Brazil is very unexperienced! They don't know the most simplest problems. But what they do know, is how to ripoff customers.

I had a service person come out for our regular six month check up for my Air Handler and A/C unit.  The guy told me the Air Handler was terribly dirty and needed cleaning or it was going to ruin my unit.  He told me the dust was going into every room in my house.  He said it would cost $450 just for the top portion of the unit.  I didn't ask him what the bottom part would cost.  I told him we wouldn't be doing that and he slammed the unit door closed.  Foster came out and said it was in really good condition but he would clean it anyway for my peace of mind and charged $65!!  You can't trust George Brazil!  I'm in Scottsdale, AZ.

Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Avoid them at all costs. 4 years ago we called them when our AC unit broke and it was in the 120's. They came right away next morning and the following morning they came out and replaced the unit with an extremely overpriced one. It supposedly came with free maintenance and service. Well, good luck. They will never come to service your unit. I have been trying for 3 months. It isn't working correctly and they refuse to come look at it. Every time I schedule with them, they reschedule me. When I called to complain they hung up on me and when I called back the lady proceeded to speak to me as if I had a learning disability. Terrible customer service, and completely unacceptable. Save your money and run far away from this terrible company!!!!!!!

I was referred to George Brazil via SRP for an AC tune up.  Fabulous service.  There's was a part on my unit that didn't pass their test. The service tech called Carrier to see if my part was under warranty,  which it was.  Saved me over $300. I've dealt with other AC companies and this by far was the best experience. He explained everything to me,  walked me through what he was doing & why. I'd definitely recommend calling this comedy for you AC needs.

6/7/18 Update:  Service manager contacted me regarding a refund for the unnecessary leak search.  After reviewing invoice from 2nd HVAC company we used for second opinion he stated he would be refunding us $255 and it would be back on our card in about a week.  This was on 5/24.  As of today(6/7/18), there has been no refund and no further communication.

Vinny, the service manager reached out to me after he read my yelp review. He was able to set up joe r. To come out today to do the second check up maintenance appointment and I am happy I can finally put this issue to bed. I'm glad that after a year of this back and forth, I finally received what I paid for and signed on. Joe R did a great job servicing our unit and we are happy that everything is now complete.

Don't do it. I loved George Brazil when we bought our first home. We bought an A/C unit and bought the maintenance package- great job. Next, we moved into another home- I called them to have them do the duct cleaning and they did a great job- this is when the issues began. I signed a contract to have them do the winter and spring maintenance and checkup- they never came- they canceled every appointment they scheduled and rescheduled about 10 minutes before they were to come telling me I was not their first priority. Can't honor a contract that I paid for? Horrific. So, we sold that home and moved to another home. I get a follow up from George brazil asking about buying another package. I say no, you couldn't honor your contract. I took days off of work to be here and you never showed up-6 times!!!! So, the guy says, let me fix this for you. Since we did not honor our contract, let's give you the appointment you were supposed to have at your last house at your new home. I was happy- that is (just like before, I take a half day at work to receive a phone call 10 minutes before telling me they aren't coming because I was not a priority? Not a priority? I paid for this. After this I have received multiple phone calls and all of which I say please never call me again. All in all, we spent about $10k with this company of you include the A/C, duct cleaning for entire home and maintenance. But yet, we are never a priority. Every time they call, I feel this sadness again. Stop calling! Don't ever used this company- they were great several years ago, but are not focused on existing custom

We have been using George Brazil for several years with good service, this year it is awful.  First I went on line to schedule an appointment (so I thought) only to be told it wasn't on the schedule.  I then scheduled another appointment, which I had to wait over 3 weeks to get, confirmed yesterday, only to be called at the beginning of the window of the appointment and it would have to be rescheduled again on October 1st.  We have insurance with our air conditioners otherwise we would go with another company  Their service has certainly gone downhill.  By the time they do come out to service our units we won't need the air conditioners.  Really disappointed in their service for a VIP customer paying a premium.  Hate to hear how a regular customer is treated.  I would not recommend them to anyone.

BEWARE OF BEING MASSIVELY OVERCHARGED.  
Through the marvel of google and you tube, we self-diagnosed that we needed either a new a/c capacitor or a new fan motor, or both on one of our 2 units. I called George Brazil because my mom recommended them, but they would do absolutely no price quoting over the phone.....none. They insisted someone has to come out. So a tech came out, attached a device to detect whether the parts I indicated were bad. It took 10 SECONDS to confirm new fan motor (and subsequently capacitor) are needed (so my self-diagnosis was correct). It would be a 45 minute max job. They quoted over $950 with some warranty plan.....750 - 850 without it. I am not even sure what the real quote was because the tech went back and forth and got his specials confused. I went inside, looked up that the part costs around $100, and the additional part like $10-20 more. I asked why the 45 minute job would be that much money. He claimed something about overhead and trucks and insurance, etc. I told him I could not justify paying that much for the repair. He charged me $79.95 for his quote. I was livid....I still am.   I want that money back.  

I then called a friend to tell them about it. Got the name of their a/c person. It was a $340 job that he completed in 30 minutes.

My parents are no longer customers, and neither are any of our family members now. Oh, and I love sharing my experiences on social media with all of my friends and neighbors, so I am spreading the word far and wide.

I will never EVER even CONSIDER wasting my time with these large companies again. If I have to pay that much for every single repair on everything, I will no longer be able to afford to live in a house....plain and simple. I feel like I was robbed by George Brazil.

By the way, in case of doubt that this is a real occurrence,  my receipt lists job# 892075, with the incorrect date of 9/30/16 (should say 9/30/19, and I am sure my credit card records showing date of transaction can prove the correct date).  My name on Yelp is an alias. But my receipt and credit card transactions can prove I am real.

I did get $50.00 credit on my credit card. I bought my a/c unit from them in '14. It was $6k + with warranty, for my small condo. So, now they've made up to me for technician leaving outdoor compressor unplugged. She came to do routine maintenance, and i sweated in heat all night. Jose didn't show up till end of following day. It wasn't even treated like an emergency. I did get small refund off yearly maintenance fee, gift card, and movie tickets.

Soooooo disappointed with George Brazil and would absolutely not recommend! We contacted GB because they came recommended but we are still dealing with an issue which started 3 weeks ago! First, they came out on a Thursday and said they had to get a part so would be back on Friday between 12-5.  When they hadn't arrived or called by 230 we decided to make sure someone was coming. At that point we were told they didn't get the part and basically had no plans to come out...really no courtesy call?!!! When it is over 110 degrees outside, there was no way we could accept that response so our call was elevated to a supervisor.  The supervisor handled it to our satisfaction and assured us someone would be out by 7.  The technician arrived by 5:00 pm and it gets better. After about two hours the technician said he was done and told us we need need to give it a couple of hours for the house to cool down. By the next day, our house still was not cool.  So here we go again, making a call to GB. They sent another technician out on Saturday and she immediately said she would have never replaced the blower because the unit should have been replaced. She tried to sell us a new AC before she even assessed the unit....only for $9k and she made sure we knew that GB could finance it. When she did look at the unit she discovered the tech on Friday punctured a hole in the capacitor which caused an oil leak. There was also a chunk of insulation on the new part (blower) he replaced which was causing the blower to overheat. The tech replaced the capacitor and removed the insulation. She then went outside to look at the compressor, hooking up an instrument to the compressor and she broke a little stem which resulted in the Freon leaking. She claims she put 2 1/2 pounds of Freon but here we are again 3 weeks later and we are back to square one! Looks like their is an oil leak where the last technician broke the stem and we are Sitting in the heat despite paying $1200 for the repair! Horrible experience!!!!!!

Was having a recurring issue with breaker trips from my AC. I suspected the breaker was bad due to the age of the breaker.  But, I decided to have the unit checked out, just in case something else was going on. I called Geroge Brazil, whom I used once before and was satisifed that time.  This time the tech showed up, johnny on the spot, which was nice.
I explained what was happening and my suspicion about the old breaker.
The tech got on the roof, opened the panels on the unit and I fired it up at his direction.  When he got off the roof after looking the unit over, I was presented with a virtual horror story of how old unit was, how many problems he identified and told me it was time for a new unit, to the tune of 7500 bucks or more, depending. I was mortified, obviously.  I didn't bite.  To be sure, I changed out the breaker and fired the unit up.
It has been operating perfectly for more than a week now on the new breaker.  It cools properly and cycles properly with the only repair, the new breaker.  So, that was 80 bucks wasted for the service call.
Will never use George Brazil again, ever

We had incredible service by this company today! We placed a maintenance call but found the coil to be leaking.  The issue was covered under the warranty and so was the freon! Not only that, they ordered the part and came back to install the same day.  This was super important as the homeowner is on medical-equipment and heat can impact his health.  I am super appreciative for both of the techs we met today.  Thank you!

Bought a new ac/heating unit from them when my old one went out. I went with the life time warranty on the unit.  When the came to my house because I had some issues....The tech called manager and said Yes we are stuck with her for 30 years.  Omg...I couldn't believe it.

We have been in our house for almost 4 years had the house built so everything is brand new. So we got our AC unit checked because it was making a loud noise when the AC would kick on! Our service guy checked it out and we had some panels loose so he tightened it up and everything is Perfect!!! I highly recommend George Brazil!! They are so honest and very reasonably priced. And it's good to get your units checked even if nothings wrong. I want to prevent a broken unit. Oh and I can't say enough about the customer service!!! 5 Star!!!!!

Sent my phone number via private message. Have not received a phone call and more importantly a receipt for work done. Why $370 for a 30 mins service call and a $10-15 part. Based on other people's complaints, my bill is on the high side.

UPDATE #2 - a manager named Vinnie called me and he was able to work with me to reduce my original charge. I appreciate that they did that and am glad that the yelp platform opened the door to receiving some effective customer service in the end. Thanks Vinnie.

I gotta say we had the worst dang experience ever from a top notch rated company. We had two new units installed (3 ton and 4 ton) and the crew was sloppy (insulation EVERYWHERE), dirty (handprints on the ceiling) careless (thermostat installed not level) and inexperienced (the air was BLASTING out of the bedroom. They must have been new. We had to have the restoration team out twice to fix the mess the first crew made. We love our new AC units, and hope to never do business with this company again.

I called GB of Phoenix because my AC unit was down during the brutal heat wave of June 2016. I had ben authorized to pay for all expenses up front by my home warranty  company and then submit the bill to them when done. Once I told the Customer Service rep that I had a home warranty he refused my business. He indicated that it happens all the time where someone states they can pay up front but it ends up not being the case (?). I mentioned that it would not be an issue and asked him what that has to do with me having a home warranty company, especially since he would not have to deal with them? Getting paid was between myself and the warranty company. I then said - ok. I don't have a home warranty. Will you take my business? He said no.  

So I called another - Cool Ace Air - and paid for everything in full, up front. They were at my house within 2 hours.

Stay away from Georg Brazil. I had heard of very questionable experiences prior to calling but thought that they may be one offs. And then I saw the other reviews on Yelp and realized I was not alone.

We returned from a trip to find our air conditioner was out on the hottest day of the year!  . We called George Brazil. Our home is less than 1200 sf and they charged us $5400.00!   Waaaay to much but we were desperate!  We didn't have time to shop around.  They did a very sloppy job the pipes were sweating and dripping.  They had to come the next day and tried to fix the leak!  The job was so bad it had to be completely redone!  Terrible customer service!  I would NEVER recommend them!  
Shop around!  What a rip off!  I believe they took advantage of our situation!

Completely disappointed in George Brazil.  I am a pretty technical and capable person but since my heat didn't come on and I'm extremely busy the next few weeks I ordered a service call to check the wires on a recently installed thermostat(they didn't install).  I'm certain 1 wire is just in the wrong spot on the thermostat since the AC works fine and there is a wire that is labeled different than its color so I assume it is mixed up. Even by the tech's own admission there are only two wires that could be wrong but still says he has to charge $200 to put those two wires in the right spot.  He acknowledges he knows which wires are in the wrong spot at the thermostat.  

This repairman talked down to me the whole time like I am an idiot and even threw the company name in my face when I questioned the $200 price for swapping a wire or two.  His response was We are George Brazil!! Um you are who?  I hadn't heard of you until a Google search.  Great first impression.  

Let's not get into the $200 price he wanted to charge for a separate part that's only $12 through anybody else.

BEWARE OF POOR SERVICE AND OVER INFLATION OF PART PRICES!

Keep me waiting.  I blocked 4 hours for you and ate up 1/2 of a day off to be called at 11th hour telling me to reschedule tomorrow or continue to wait for a technician.  I was on a VIP service plan and this is not what I call VIP service.

Prior to this failed attempt-had a plumber come out to install a reverse osmosis system.  I sent the guy away because I was being gouged by the technician.

Had a guy come out before this and sell me a very expensive thermostat which did not fix the problem. He had to come back out and found a clog in my unit.  He could not take the thermostat back because the box had been opened.

Three Bad experiences in a row.  I will not recommend or use this company ever again.

My 17-year old AC unit went out. I got 4 quotes to replace the entire unit and George Brazil was the cheapest. Plus the salesman was very nice and professional, and he had done his research on the house before our meeting.

The install team were also on time, polite and courteous, and did a great job cleaning up afterwards. So far everything works great!

Don't be fooled by their advertisements for serving deals. Most recently, their advertised service deal didn't include anything but paying someone to look at the AC unit...no cleaning. We were quoted 700 bucks for 5 lbs of coolant for a leak, extra for some sealer that may or may not solve the problem.

I called an independent, licensed, and insured contractor who serviced the unit included cleaning (even cleared a clog on the drip pipe, no charge). He also charged the coolant (only 1 lb was needed) and found and fixed 1 leak ( a common spot for leaks). Total cost was much less than George's quote.

I had a 2 year contract for 4 inspections. Only 3 inspections were made and at the last one I was told the air conditioner compressor was not working well and probably would not make it through the summer. That review was given after 10 minutes on the roof.
I called another company for a second opinion. After being on the roof for at least 30 minutes, I was told nothing was wrong and all parts were working correctly.
I have tried to talk to someone, but no one takes my call or calls back.
I am VERY DISAPPOINTED with this company.

Haven't seen a George Brazil truck in a while and I was out with some friends when I saw it and I told them about an awful experience I had with them a while back. Been meaning to write this review by never got around to it. If I could give them zero stars I would've.

So the owner of the house I'm living in told me about some yearly inspection George Brazil needs and to make an appointment and she'll be there when they are to take care of things. Well I set the appointment and the day comes and she is unable to meet me and so I was there to handle the situation, totally fine just never worked with them. Anyways, the guy came and inspected my AC unit and noticed our wires were a little chewed and came in and told me that to fix it (AC was running fine) and make it so my dogs stopped chewing on it would be around $100.00. I agreed because after telling him the AC is fine he said any more chewing on this one wire my AC would be down. So he repairs it and literally 10 minutes later comes in says, all done! Just need to go write up the bill comes back and shows me the bill total: $256.00!!! I pay it because, well I didn't know any better?? I then call the home owner and she said it has never been that much, even with the $100.00 repair.

Real quick let me tell you about the repair, it was poorly done and he did nothing about what he said he'd do so my dogs would stay away. The homeowner's son looks at it because he's handy in electrical work and he said what he did was about $5 in parts maybe $10 at most. He rewired the chewed ones, and ELECTRIC TAPED the wires to the nearest bar on the AC unit.

Back to their service, I then call a couple days later, spoke with the manager I believe and he said that they were able to refund me about $50 and a check was on its way. Well we are at about 6-8 months later and never got the check.

Worst service, worst professionalism, and I hate to say it but I totally felt like I was taken advantage of since I was the only one at the house and I am a female who knows nothing about electrical work.

Anyways, I do not want to be contacted, you had your opportunity to make it right and all these months later I still have a bad taste when I see anything affiliated with this company. DO NOT USE THEM.

We used George Brazil last New Years eve because we really didn't have a choice. They showed up quickly and replaced our hot water heater and we were back in business. After the fact, found out they charged us more than several other places would have but we were under the gun so that was fine.

So, a couple weeks ago on the hottest day of the year, our AC goes out. After hours. We were charged $80 for them just to show up. Ok, I get it. He replaced a part for us and charged us $190. I have a nephew in Michigan that said at his cost, the part is $7. I understand they have to mark up parts but seriously with 15 minutes of labor $190? He also said we needed $500 more worth of work that we could schedule at a later date. We had another company come for a second opinion. He charged $80 for labor and parts. He also said he used to work for a company just like George Brazil and they are told to up sell as much as possible. They never returned my call when I called to discuss my complaint.

They are a bunch of crooks and I will be reporting them to the BBB as well. Please trust me and do not go with this company. There are so many other honest, small business owners out there that are eat more ethical.

Poor customer service.  Failed to provide quote to my wife because she might not understand.  I had to come for the quote and it was high pressure sign up now sales approach.  I'm glad we didn't use them because they were twice as high.  At our meeting the rep wasn't prepared.  He just wanted to see what other quotes I had.  I asked if he could provide a quote and he made us feel like it was burden.  I called the office manager and he said that it was just his style.  He is old school and doesn't like dealing with women.

Our AC went out in the middle of the night. I called George Brazil and in the morning Caleb arrived. Caleb was friendly, professional and funny, which was a nice surprise since our house was 93 degrees and we were not in a very good mood . Caleb checked out our unit and then walked us through everything he found and everything that needed fixed. He provided costs up front, so there were no surprises. Within a short time, Caleb had our system up and running, blowing cold air. At the end, his estimate did not change and the quality of work was exceptional. George Brazil and Caleb, will be the only one we use to service our AC. I would recommend George Brazil to everyone, without hesitation. They are a company you can trust.

THE WORST COMPANY. Started 6 months ago when they said my system was low and suckered me into a 1yr VIP plan. $400 that day. My plan included 2 maintenance checks. Well before my summer service my AC would not cool my house. Mykel comes out asks me 3 questions or so about the last time they were there then said he's been out here 8 years and knows these units, we likely need a new one he said. An entire 7k unit.. He checks the coils outside he checks the unit in the attic and says your coils are leaking. Rusted through he said. Copper rusts? Anyway, I was blessed by Wheeler mechanical. They do everything mechanical. They spend 2 hours checking my system and I DO NOT HAVE A LEAK. Just a bad TXP or TXV whatever it's called. So 6 months ago I didn't need 2lbs of r22 you guys lied then tried to get me to buy a unit through you. $500 roughly STOLEN by George Brazil. Stay away from them.

Very nice, very professional, VERY expensive.

I had George Brazil come look at a malfunctioning AC unit. I was able to get an appointment the day after I called. The technician showed up on time and was extremely nice and professional. (He also seemed very knowledgeable.) After examining my unit, it appeared that the blower motor and capacitors were going bad. He estimated about $1200 to replace the motor and capacitors. However, because the unit was still operational (it simply had inconsistent fan speed and an occasional burning smell), he suggested I wait a bit and see what happens.

I am a fairly handy person and these parts are among the easiest to replace on an AC unit, so after the technician left (spending over an hour with me on a $40 service call, which was nice), I decided to look to see what the cost would be to replace the parts myself. I was shocked to find that I could buy a new motor, motor mount, and two capacitors for $170 from a local supply store. Taking all precautions (disconnecting electricity, discharging capacitors), I replaced everything myself in just under an hour. The unit is working great, and I've saved over $1000.

So while I appreciate the time and attention that the tech from George Brazil spent on my issue, it is clear that they are subsidizing this by charging an outrageous amount for parts and labor.

You disgust me George Brazil!!! I moved into a house 1 1/2 years ago and the AC was only 5 years old. I explained this to our technician and said I wasn't sure about it having any warranty. He came back telling me it would be almost $3700 to replace my EVAP coil. I luckily posted on social media and a friend referred me to a reputable company. They came out and were able to find out that the unit is under warranty and explained that when a unit is installed by a licensed technician, they register it's serial number, which activates the warranty. I'm now have the part replaced for free..... Only having to pay for labor and the recharge of refrigerant. Living in Phoenix, I consider air conditioning a necessity. If my AC were to go out again and George Brazil is the only option..... I'd rather suffer a heat stroke then call them, ever!!

I have lived in this home for 4 years and I have a Home Buyer's warranty on the house and I felt that my a/c unit needed maintenance/tune-up. But since there is a home buyers warranty on the unit, George Brazil would not even come and do the tune-up! This tells me that they are only interested in finding something wrong with the unit so that they can sell me stuff.

UPDATED 6/9/2015:  My home warranty does NOT cover ongoing maintenance and it is NOT voided if I have it performed.

Called to get a tune up for my new AC at the beginning of May, no appointments until the end of May. That's fine, made an appointment. I get a call the Friday before my appointment saying they need to reschedule because of all the no cool calls and the next open appointment for me would be 6/26. I rescheduled because my AC is working fine. My new window was today between 10-2. I called at 11:30 to confirm my window as I didn't receive any sort of follow up. I was told that there were too many no cool emergencies today and that I would have to reschedule again. This is unacceptable. I understand that ACs break but you need to learn to hold appointments. I will never use this company again, but what do they care, they already got my money.

Edit: since I can't reply directly here. No, I won't be giving my information. You lost a customer in me and several others that I've told to stay away. You screw over your current customers for the bigger money jobs. I regret using your company in the first place and will take my business elsewhere in the future (already used another company to replace ductwork and add insulation). Your prices are ridiculous, work is shoddy at best, and your customer service is horrendous. In the end, yeah you'll stay in business, but I'll keep referring people to other, better companies.

I am happy to report that after a few stressful days, my story has a happy ending.   One of the managers, Vinny called again today and was able to offer a full refund.  I explained that I was willing to accept a partial refund, since work was done,  but Vinny insisted on refunding the full $386 for the job.

Their guarantee is not honored. I am buying a house where they repaired the AC for a price tag of $3800 for the seller less than 6 months ago. It failed the home inspection and they WILL NOT honor their supposed guarantee by even looking at it. If you had honored your own guarantee you would have gained me as a customer, never mind the former owner. As is, I will find someone else to follow up on the AC and you lose a potential customer and presumably the former owner will not be happy to have spent $3800 for nothing but you can take that up with him. I will not be giving you a chance for my business in the future.

Had them for 3 years when I moved to AZ never had AC before , every time they came out it cost me money . Ultimately I needed a new unit , they quoted me $7500  .  I got the same unit from Honest Air for $ 5000 installed  . Never would I recommend them to my worst enemy. They are into sales and upgrades

My brother recommended George Brazil to me as our AC died while my husband was on a business trip and he was unable to fix it for me as the damage was to great.  With my first visit with Phil S. deciding what unit to go with and the financing portion he went above and beyond what I could have ever expected! The most important thing to me was knowing my husband was on a business trip and never once did Phil or anyone else try to take advantage of that.  Friday morning when they came to install the unit everything went perfect!  Once again Jorge V. went above and beyond and explained everything in detail for me! Jorge and his guys were great!  I can't thank them enough for all the help and understanding I received.  I would recommend George Brazil to anyone looking for a new AC!!  I can't thank you enough!! :)

Unit down, over the summer and visiting from out town. Guy shows up, (charges to do so) then looks it over and says it will be $2,200 to fix or I could just pay the visit fee OR they could give me a 50% rebate if I signed up for some plan where I pay a monthly fee. Seemed like a huge scam. Another company (AC BY J) and was fixed in less time for about $300, than it took the George Brazil guy took to lie to me and rip us off

Called for service on AC. Said they would get back to me within 30 min. Didn't. Called back an hour later. Said they would get someone to call me within the hour. A full hour later I got a call. A total of 2hrs 15 min from my first call to them.
Within that time I called someone else, was called back in 5 minutes, and scheduled for later that day.
I will not call George Brazil again. If only they were as good as their commercials suggest.

I wish I could give 0. Worst service ever. Being 24 hours we called them midnight last summer when our ac stopped working and didn't get anyone show up until 10 next morning. The technician came in and when we asked about installing new one since he came up with a big amount to fix it, he said he has to send a senior technician since he has no clue and senior guy can arrange for some temporary cooling if it can't be fixed same day. While we were dying in heat and waiting for senior guy to show up he comes late afternoon while temps were rising to 110 degrees. He was not only inexperienced but he was pushing us to sign for installation even for equipment might not be needed which was base and something he mentioned. And when we asked him to check he was annoyed for ac being on roof and him being scared to go up and check out our unit. But to his rescue he was happy that we had another guy for quite and he took pictures for him. Strange seems like they don't care if you are suffering in heat instead of sending technician they will send marketing folks to take advantage of your situation. Am glad we didn't hire them.

! because you can't mark it lower.  Do not believe all these made up reviews they are misleading   I knew these guys were bad, and we left them over a couple years ago  They never honored their warranties, over charged more than anyone else, and would actually tell you something was wrong when it's not, just to up sale you.  I verified this several times by having honest AC people come in behind them.  Now here's the kicker they sold us a York which was defective and later brought a class action suit against Johnson Controls for it's defectiveness.  Wait it gets worse, now after 2 years of my much better AC guy keeping this unit on life support, it died. It was originally an insurance claim and was suppose to be a 5 ton unit to replace the old 5 ton unit that was damaged, at least that's what George Brazil told me and the paper work said. Turns out it was only a 3.5 ton unit and the cause of our high utility bills.  Straight up they ripped us off, to pocket extra money and obviously did this more than once.  Please don't make the same mistake.

I don't like to complain but felt the need to warn people when purchasing an air-conditioning unit from this company. Both my daughter and mother purchased a York Unit last year from George. My daughter had installation issues which the company promptly fixed to her satisfaction. Now just a year later both of their units went our during our recent hot spell. One was due to too much freon in the unit (which was set by the company) and the other just completely seized up, so new parts had to be ordered and the problem temporarily fixed. The service guy actually told my mother to start saving her money because these units were very termpermental and the warranty was only good for 6 years. NOT GOOD!!!.

The customer service was excellent from the company, but the product they are selling is horrible. When you spend over $7,000 for something you expect it to last for at least the warranted time. This does not.

This company installed two new units in our East Mesa home in mid March of 2018. They were well supervised, extremely hard-working, professional and pleasant to deal with. They did not leave a mess behind. The company also provided excellent follow-up by another professional tech who reviewed (quality control) the work that was performed by the installers and to explain more things to us about the operation of the system and the new thermostats. Even prior to doing the installation, when they came to our home to scope out the project and bid the work (one of four bidders) they were extremely thorough and credible. Although we had bids from other fine firms who were also very professional we are very satisfied in having gone with George Brazil.

Just prior to Thanksgiving I had Jason and Chris from George Brazil plan out the job of replacing my homes ducts and adding an additional duct to the Arizona room.  Jason and Chris were obviously very knowledgeable and dedicated to the performance of their job.  They spent a considerable amount of time asking me questions about the house and the amount of use each room receives.  They took temperature measurements in each room and checked the attic several times.  Early the following week, they returned with Gorge and Chuck, to replace the ducts.  The crew did an impressionable job of moving the furniture and protecting the walls and furniture with drop cloths.  Then the crew went right to work removing the old ducts.  Since my home has a very shallow attic, the work conditions were difficult and uncomfortable.  This didn't deter the crew from working carefully, courteously and cheerfully.  This was a day-long job.  Without me asking, throughout the day, the crew informed me on the progress of the job and what they were doing.  I'm sure these gentlemen worked in accordance with the Arizona labor laws.  Nevertheless, I can't say I ever saw them take a break until the job was complete for the day.  The crew did a superb job of cleaning up and removing the old ducts and debris from my front lawn.  They swept and vacuumed the house before leaving.  The house and property were left so clean, that one would never have guessed the scope of the work that had been done.  Jason and Chris explained to me what had been done, they checked the operation of the system, instructed me on how to make any minor adjustments I might want to make, and briefed me on what would be done next week on their return visit.  Jason and Chuck returned the following week and completed the job exactly as they said they would.  My home has never been so comfortable and dust free.  Thank you, George Brazil.
Throughout my seventy-year sojourn on this earth, I have served in many different capacities and interacted with innumerable individuals.  Until I met Jason and Chris, I never had the pleasure of meeting two individuals who are not only knowledgeable but work with their heart as well.  It was clearly evident, that these two gentlemen have a passion for what they do.

Great service. I have been battling a problem with a new Trane A/C and Heating unit installed last year by another service provider. Went through last winter cold most evenings. George Brazil diagnosed the problem after only two visits. They also followed up with a call once the problem was fixed. They were very responsive no matter what time I called and had very experienced technicians, especially Garret. I change all my service over to them immediately had have had a great experience so far. Also, their prices are competitive. I highly recommend them.

In May 2020, Angel L and Gelson R did a fantastic job removing my old units, air handler and thermostats.  I was very impressed by their professionalism, work ethic, methodical precision and how nice they were. The units were installed on two different days due to one being on the roof and one ground unit. These two gentlemen were so efficient and you could tell they have worked together for some time. Everything was explained to me, and there were zero surprises.  I initially called the company out for repair, but based on the age of my units , I chose to replace them. It was an expensive decision but I feel great about choosing George Brazil.  I chose the All in One Comfort Plan.  I waited to have a few months to see what my savings were and I am happy to say that my SRP bills are much less this summer than the last 2 years, even though I kept the temperature lower than I have ever had before. This last month from mid July through August was the hottest ever on record in Phoenix.  I am super happy with the York units. They are quiet and efficient.  I would highly recommend this company and these individuals. I appreciate great work so very much.. I also had my ductwork cleaned, pressure tested and sealed by a different team.  It took an entire day, but was worth the time and money. SRP rebates for high efficiency units and ductwork dealing were helpful in defraying the costs too.

Buyer Beware!  Very Expensive and not accountable. Spent $16,000 on a new air conditioning units after our old 8 seer system failed after 17 years. No savings in utility bill and after 4 check ups and maintenance at my expense, not to mention a home that was not comfortable and cool, we finally found out there was a refrigerant leak in one of the units for over a year later. When asked to be compensated for a portion of my over $700 a month a/c bill for three months over an AZ summer, we were offered $250 and a coupon to dinner. No thanks! Take responsibility for your damaged product and/or faulty installation and compensate your customer. Waste of time and money, this is a large corporation out to get rich on the back of hard working people. Contracts are vague and fail to disclose a break down of costs.

Michelle J. came to our house the same day we called to schedule service, anticipating it'd be later in the week - no extra charges or anything. Fixed our heater and thermostat and was really up front about the fact that the heating/fan unit is super old and probably not going to last much longer. She took the time to go over replacement options for us so we can start to plan on that, she even looked at our AC unit to confirm that it uses old Freon and will also need to be replaced soon. Not sales pushy or anything, just matter of fact info and options after she fixed our problem, cost was reasonable, repairs guaranteed. Oh, and she was really nice to our mean cat.

renter here in EXTREMELY hot Arizona.  My landlord purchased a new A/C and Roberto Q and Rhino F were the installers from George Brazil.  This condo is ancient with very bad construction and of course bad wiring. Plus this State puts compressors on top of the roof..go figure...so a huge crane has to hoist them up.  Everything went smoothly until the guys had to connect the compressor with the air flow mechanism inside and the crap wiring wouldn't allow it.  They had to be VERY CREATIVE...I never saw any frustration between the two of them...but instead were very engaged to fix this problem  and they DID!!!!  They were here I believe close to 8 hours .   I was very impressed!

Amazing company! Were able to accomadate a Sunday service call and able to complete service the very next day. They offered to put me in a hotel room for the night so we wouldn't have to stay in a hot house. I will never use them again nor will I ever recommend them. I thought because they are such a big company they would be trustworthy, but they are extremely shady. I am sure if you are spending thousands of dollars with them they will treat you like  gold, but for a $60 maintenence service for your AC they make it clear they would rather be elsewhere. The guy who came out to our house ripped us off and thought he could get away with it. I scheduled a maintanence service for my AC where they add freeon and do all that kind of stuff to tune it up. We sure were charged for it, but the guy didn't do any of that stuff. All he did was look at our AC and tell my fiancé we needed a new one, then left with our $60. I was at work at the time so I couldn't question him at that time. But I was extremely confused what we just paid that money for seeing as how he didn't do anything he was supposed to do. My fiancé called customer service and asked what he was supposed to do for a task 22. She names off a number of things he didn't do. Fast forward to that guy calling my fiancé, and pretty much telling him what he did was a diagnosis for our AC which is a completely different task, and we found out nearly $30 cheaper. So we were charged for a tune up service and just given a diagnosis. When he was at our house he said he couldn't read any of the numbers on our AC to check freeon levels and all then, then on the phone he says he checked on all of that stuff and everything was fine. He blamed it on our AC which doesn't have anything to do with the fact that he overcharged us and he knew it and thought he could get away it, and when confronted he started back peddling. We got our money back which is all we cared about seeing as how my fiancé's time was wasted and we had paid for absolutely nothing.

**Update** We were able to get a referred guy out here from a different company who confirmed the fact that our freeon levels were low, and the capacitor for the blower motor was reading 4.2 when it should have been 10, yet the guy at George Brazil said he couldn't read any of the numbers. So this guy fixed those two things and now our air is way colder than it was before and our house cooled down a lot faster which tells me these were the problems the whole time.

My AC stopped cooling and they came right out but estimated repairs very high. So I opted to really pay up and put in a complete new system $7k. They installed in two days but the quality of work was terrible. They had a quality control guy come out a week later and clean up the mess. If I would not have climbed in the attic we would not have known. But the high utilities would have pointed to the poor install. I will never use them again.

I'm always satisfied with the service that I receive from George Brazil and this time was no exception.  On Monday I had a scheduled maintenance for our air conditioning unit.  Rose was my technician and I was pleasantly surprised to have a woman working a position like this.  I was called shortly before arrival to let me know when she'd be here.  When Rose got here, she put on the signature little booties to keep the house clean and had their little red carpet in front of my door.

Rose was knowledgeable, efficient and also made recommendations for surge protector, explaining to me why it's a good idea.  I did not purchase one at the time, but it's good to know about these things.

I appreciate that George Brazil is hiring women to do the job that I typically see a man doing.

I am very surprised at the previous ratings because I had an excellent experience with the plumbing and electrical division. Fernando with the plumbing division and Tony with the electrical division were more than amazing, and I am very happy I went with George Brazil to get my electrical and plumbing needs taken care of. there was an extremely quick turnaround for scheduling my appointments, Fernando gave me a quote and repaired my plumbing issues same day, and was there to answer the million questions I had with my new home, and he really knows what he's talking about! Tony also with tremendous customer service, and gave me a quote and was able to do the quoted work the next day to install lights in two rooms, and add outlets and diagnose outlets. Tony also really knew what he was talking about, and did an excellent job. He went above and beyond for me and I will be requesting Tony again for any electrical needs. If I could give this more than a 5 star review I would, but outstanding service!

Update: It took them a just under couple of weeks, but they refunded my $200, cancelled the warranty, and promised to speak with the employee who did this. They also agreed to send me something in the mail as an apology which I am still waiting on. Management (or whoever called me) obviously wasn't happy with the negative experience and bad press. I know they can't know for sure berceuse they weren't there, but their employee went out of his way to rip me off. I don't believe the company encourages this.

In the end they fixed my problem for an ok price. I trust that the work is good. If you decide to use them do not trust what the tech says, no matter how many times you ask. Make him explain every line item on the bill and what he's charging you for.

108 degrees in July and the AC failed at 2:00 am on a Saturday night. I called GB at 2:30am and they said someone would call me once they open at 6:00am. Around 7:00 am Sunday morning I received a call from GB saying a tech would be at the house between 1:00 and 5:00pm that day. Around 1:30 Caleb showed up and checked out my system. I can't say enough about how professional and experienced he was. We discussed the pros and cons of repairing my 20 year old system and agreed  replacing it would be the best action. Caleb addressed all my questions and at no time did I feel like he was pushing me towards something I didn't need. The install took place first thing Tues morning as promised. Techs were very professional. No complaints with GB. Overall great experience.

On May 4th, 2016, I submitted and request for service through their website. The automated email response that I  immediately received stated that a representative would contact me shortly to address my needs. It's now 6 days later and I haven't heard from the company at all. I called and spoke with someone today. She stated someone called and left a message. It's funny but with all of our smart phones we can see missed calls and or voicemail. Not a single missed call or voicemail from the company. Despite all their advertisements, I will now go somewhere else and pay a little more without it bothering me!

I bought a new central air unit in 2016.   Had some issues after it was installed, but they fixed it to my satisfaction.   I am updating my review from 5 stars to 3 due to the fact the representative told me they are 24x7 and I would get same day service if I purchased a lifetime warranty.   I did and have gotten all the service checks.   Tonight my unit made an extremely loud noise when it shut off like metal on metal.   I called to find they only have phone reps that can't even tell me if it's dangerous to leave on.   I'm turning it off, but am concerned as I have small birds.   The rep also said they may not be able to come tomorrow.   This is not good as I woke up this morning to the house being in the 50s.

Don't use this company. We had them out for our annual AC inspection because they were offering a special pricing. The tech came to the door and said he was going on the roof to take a look and do the servicing. He then came down and asked if I knew that my blower was not working. I said it was working fine and the house was nice and cool. He then went over to the vent that was blowing fine before he went on the roof and it was no longer working. He said he could fix it for $900 or we could replace the unit for $7,000. I had already been shopping for a new unit and knew the price for what we had was $3,500 max so I said no thanks. They then called and said since it was summer they could offer me a special price of $6,000. This is the most disreputable company I have ever dealt with. First, the break and AC that was old but sill working fine and they try to gauge me for a new one. Needless to say, we went with another company for our new AC and we were very happy with the service and the unit we got.

Just when the heat advisory came out, our upstairs unit went on the fritz, and of course it was Saturday! We had no choice but to call. I was prepared to hear that I would have to pay extra on Saturday for a call, but did not. Louie arrived and was very professional and friendly. He put on his shoe covers before coming in my front door - which is ok because I think the shoe covers actually cleaned my floors! Lol. He never once tried to sell me a new unit - which was also part of why I hate calling these type of repair companies.
The bill was less than I expected, too. I rarely write reviews but I do read them, so I wanted to make sure Louie was acknowledged and George Brazil recommended.

---REVIEW OF THE FIX A FLAT LEAK FIX METHOD----

This past week went to switch the unit to heat.  The unit has been off for about a month now.  The unit would not fire up.  

Called up another HVAC company.  Checked the unit pressure.  No pressure.  Unit has no freon in it.  

Initial service was done by George Brazil.  I was sold on this fix a flat leak repair.

I don't recommend the fix a flat freon leak repair method.  As in my case when it doesn't work you end up paying in more in the end.

On top of the fix a flat, freon, and service cost I know have to pay for the following:
-Isolation pressure test
-10lbs of freon

So I am not recommending the fix a flat freon leak method approach.  

This is review is in regards to the fix a flat method.  Some online reviewers swear by it but in my case didn't work.  Should of went with the real way first.  

So for the fix a flat method I give it zero stars.

This place is actually the biggest scam! Our a/c was turning on but no air coming from the vents. I called GB and they came out within the hour (which was great). The tech was on the roof no more than a few minutes and then came down and said to replace the relay switch, it would be $1700. That would just be a bandaid though, and he gave us two pricier options going all the way up to $9700 for a whole new unit! On top of that, the tech, Mike Jolly, unplugged our capacitor wire while he was up there. Doing this would eventually burn out our motor, essentially guaranteeing we'd have to get a new unit. We paid him the $79 service fee and sent him on his way. I called another repair company, Klee's Climate Control. He was out within the hour and replaced the relay switch for $200, and he discovered the unplugged capacitor wire. He truly saved us (and our pets!) and I will never again use George Brazil for anything. Klee's also has earned the business of our two restaurants. George Brazil is a scamming, sleazy, underhanded POS business. Taking advantage of people and marking up services 850% is atrocious horrible business. I don't know how they sleep at night.

I'm a native of Arizona and there's nothing worse than having your wife text saying the air isn't working in the middle of August. Within two hours of calling George Brazil Josh Wildermuth arrived with a red carpet and booties ready to help. He saved me a ton of money by actually taking the time to diagnose the issue CORRECTLY. Todd Robinson came to our home and did a thorough analysis and review of both of our systems.  He spent a great deal of time looking at tgebteo systems in the house and then walking us through the options of systems looking at technical as well as service data
We had both 4 ton units replaced
Ivan and the team were prompt in the installation and worked through record heat in Scottsdale
Finally Taurin was terrific showing us what had been done re explaining the paperwork and thermostat

I called them out to figure out what a couple rooms weren't cooling effectively. They took a look at the HVAC system, made sure things were sealed and working properly, and suggested rerouting those air ducts so they weren't so far down the branches and were instead on a main duct trunk. Their quote wasn't cheap, and I opted not to have someone else do the work, but I appreciate their time and effort.

I came across a tune-up coupon and decided to give George Brazil a call. I recently purchased my home and wanted to make sure the A.C. was working properly since it is 13 years old. Mike Fetters was the technician and he was very courteous and thorough. When he was finished and going over the inspection results he mentioned that the filters were a little dirty. I pointed to my calendar to show him that they were due to be changed tomorrow. Without hesitation he asked if he could change them for me since he already had his ladder out. While changing the filters he even cleaned the fresh air  filter as well! I would recommend George Brazil, and specifically Mike Fetters to anyone needing A.C./heating related work!

I don't understand how a company can refuse service due to having a home warranty. Only thing I can think of they must charge more then what a national warranty covers.. They won't even take a service call from disable person saying they will not use warranty. Poor business  practices.

I purchased an expensive maintnance plan for my unit after I had a regular service performed as the tech sold me on the regular maintenance that comes with it plus the priority service appointments if you ever have an emergency. Well tonight I have an emergency as my unit is blowing hot air. Upon calling to request a tech I'm told that they can't service me tonight. I asked about the fact I had a paid service plan on the units and it didn't give me any sort of priority.

So long story short is George Brazil will tell you whatever you want to here to get your money, but doesn't really give a crap about you. Customer service at it's finest.

Awesome first time experience with George Brazil. Our A.C. went out over the weekend when I tried to upgrade our thermostats with a new digital one. The units started blowing hot air instead. After requesting an appointment online, a customer rep called me Sunday to schedule an appointment the next day. On Monday morning, Mike called before arriving and showed up 20 minutes later. He was very professional and respectful, as he looked over our system. It turned out to be a setting on the thermostat was incorrect, which he corrected. He offered us a VIP package to have our system routinely checked throughout the next year. I was so impressed by Mike's help, that we went ahead and purchased the package. Now when we have problems we know exactly who will be coming by to help us out. Thanks Mike, and thanks George Brazil!

I was contacted by management at George Brazil A/C today and got a better explanation of the repair bill I contested.  Their initial bill did not break down parts and labor but was flat rated.  Actually, they added nearly 10 pounds of R22 refrigerant to the system.  The current pricing on R22 can go as high as $50.00 a pound.  Had I been told this to begin with I would have not complained.  This one line flat rating system they use leads to a lot of missunderstanding.

So, i felt the need to write an update to my review. Seems there must have been a miscommunication between management and their night time call center, which led to the majority of my issue. That said, I did receive a call from Mick in the customer service department first thing in the morning. A technician Phil) was dispatched and did a full check on my unit. Once the unit was deemed okay, and refrigerant topped off at no charge, Mick again called to ensure that everything was taken care of and that I was happy. Mick really did go out of his way to ensure the matter was solved, and for that I am extremely appreciative.

I'll preface this by saying that I have used George Brazil twice in the past and received decent service, one of those guys was actually very customer service oriented & didn't charge me a dime to change a bad fuse. So it's no surprise that I would call them again to get a diagnostics on my a/c unit that was running good all day but would shut off at night.
I spoke with the rep, Hector, before he came over and specifically told him to wait for me if he got there before I did and that the teenage boys at the home could not authorize any work. I got there 4 minutes late and to my surprise he was already in the back yard dismantling the a/c unit. The guy spent about 2 minutes (if that) inspecting the unit which was running and told me that I needed a new fan motor ($900), thermostat ($?), thermostat line ($200), and capacitor ($200). I told him that seemed excessive considering I paid $140 for a new fan motor + $65 trip fee on a different unit at a different property and that the unit was only 6 yrs old. He said George Brazil was not the cheapest company and that it was more expensive because they have more overhead. Really, that's your excuse for price gouging???? I told him that was TOO MUCH and he quickly said he could do the fan motor for $799 then when I said that was still too high he broke out the calculator did some figures and said the lowest he could do it for was $733. I told him no and he got upset and starting having a bit of an attitude. Apparently the person that installed the unit didn't use wire nuts to connect the cables, they used electrical tape. The technician said this was a safety hazard so I asked him if he could replace the tape with wire nuts before he closes it up and I would pay for that but he said that he would have to charge me $199 because he would have do the work to change out the line. At this point we were definitely not seeing eye to eye. I had to tell him I wanted the unit closed up again as he found it because he was getting ready to leave and leave it open.
Long story short....definitely not at all impressed with G.B. today. Very pushy salesman that clearly works on some kind of commission because he was wanting to change out a lot of things on a unit but at the end of the day couldn't tell me WHY it was failing.. the whole reason he was called out in the first place.

Many years ago, I first decided to use them because an old TV program showed that one of their technicians was the only honest guy in the TV program. However, their service has been getting worse and worse. Two years ago, after they fixed one of my ACs, they left the AC uncovered, and I had to call them back to fix it. Last year, they charged me ~$400 for replacing an AC capacitor, which generally only cost $120-$150. Within 9 months, the same AC unit stopped cooling again. When I called them, they said that, since I did not buy the VIP service at that moment, their service only had 90-day warranty. ~$400 for replacing a capacitor is not considered a VIP service for them!  
[Update: I later used another company to do the diagnostic, and they confirmed that the AC malfunction was NOT because of the AC capacitor that they replaced. I want to be clear about this.  Meanwhile, I still think charging ~$400 for replacing a capacitor is unethical. ]

Recently called the company to ask questions because my air conditioner broke down. A woman answered the phone and didn't say their name, so I asked her if she could tell me her name so I would know who I'm talking to and she hung up on me. How can you answer the phone and say your greeting and not introduce yourself to a potential customer who may be looking to use your company. I would never call here again and am glad to have found a company that takes care of and respects their customers, that's called customer service, which this person was lacking that day.

I have used George Brazil a couple of times.  At first I thought they were great, but NEVER again.  Way too expensive and the rep was b.s. on part he said I needed.   Was told fan motor out and would be over $900. Then when I didn't jump on that dropped it to $677. Still didn't take it. Called 2 other companies who both told me it was the capacitor and finally went with 3rd company because I was so hot. Called a parts supply place. You can get a 5 year capacitor for about $50 and is really easy to install. Fan motor was $275.  Next time it goes out I will check with supply house first.  Sorry George. To lost a customer!

When our AC went out, I called this company mostly based on it's excellent reviews. After the initial assessment, I had some concerns and began to wonder if I had made a mistake in going to this company. When I reached out to voice my concerns is when I realized why this company is rated to highly. The ladies in customer service, Stephanie and Chandra( I hope that's right) were patient and listened to my concerns and did everything they could to help me. Vinny, the service manager, I have no words to thank him for his kindness and demonstrating that this company is truly invested in making sure it's customers are happy and taken care of! I will never forget your kindness! The technician Mike F. Was kind, courteous and knowledgeable. He communicated well with us and went over our options and did a great job fixing our AC. I am in healthcare and pride myself in the service I provide my patients. This is the first time in a long time that I have felt the same care given to me. Thank you!

Our home's central a/c unit's fan went out at 1:30am when it was a mere 92F out. We immediately called George Brazil, because they claim to have 24/7 service. The person we spoke to said there was no one available at 2am, but someone would be out at 7am the next morning. Suspicious, ex-New Yorker that I am, I immediately called at 7am to confirm the appointment, only to be told by the dispatcher that no one takes calls at 2am and nothing had been set up in the appointment books (well, why would you bother looking at the appointment book if there wouldn't have been anyone around, liar?). He then set up an appointment for someone to be there between 8 and 12 (I figured, if they're like COX, that means after 3pm). I immediately looked here to read other reviews and that convinced me to call someone else and schedule with them. When I called George Brazil to cancel, they didn't even ask why I was cancelling (something tells me, they aren't strangers to cancelled appointments).

Next time you're thinking of calling George Brazil for work, call Brazil instead. No doubt, you'll be able to rely more on a technician arriving from Rio de Janeiro to fix your a/c than someone from up the street in Phoenix!

George Brazil contacted me & said they would like to take responsibility for their tech's wrongdoing.  They said theyd like to investigate which they did then they told me they were going to refund me 50% of the money I spent with the firm that came and actually fixed my ac unit.  It took a few weeks but they did send the check.  I was happy to receive a partial reimbursement of my cost. George Brazil requested that I place this update on the record.

We purchased a new AC system last July, and the system is already not working! They came last night (June 16) just to cool the house until they could fix the problem which wasn't going to be until tomorrow. Today's high was 115 and again no cool air! We called again today to say it wasn't working and they said someone would be here between four and nine but nobody showed up at nine so we had to call back still waiting for someone to call us. We paid $10,000 for this system and its not even a year old! The service man told us that York knew about the faulty part and has been trying to fix the problem, but if they've known about this for months, then why haven't they contacted customers to replace the faulty parts BEFORE THEY BREAK AND ITS 115!!!! Extremely poor customer service!

Approximately one year ago on July 8, 2016 George Brazil put me and my family through an absolutely horrible experience. They sent two young men ( one in training) to install a new AC unit. After an hour, water begins pouring through my ceiling in my closet, laundry room and kids playroom. Most of the items were a total loss including all our electronics. Our home was unlivable so Tyler said he would comp a hotel. It's been nearly a year and after 3 months of shoddy repairs and living in a construction zone they have done nothing to replace our personal property. My 3 small kids saw their playroom and possessions destroyed. I have since contacted a lawyer and am now slowly making headway to get the reimbursements . I have also spoken to three on your side and they are very interested in my story. George Brazil stopped returning calls long ago. I had to share this awful experience in the hopes no family has to go through what we did. Awful company with even worse customer service. Two and a half stars on yelp collectively is far too generous.

George Brazil came to my home and looked at my A/C unit and said the unit leaked out the refrigerant and that the coils needed to be replaced. This was going to cost 7000 dollars so I might as well replace the entire unit for 10,000 dollars. I called Airtime Cooling and Heating and Travis came out and said my unit needed a capacitor and fixed my unit for 189 dollars. Travis also said the refrigerant is not leaking and was fine. I highly recommend that you do not use George Brazil unless you want to replace your unit. Apparently they don't know how to repair them.

Very horrible experience with getting a quote over the phone! I have been in the market for a couple weeks now for a new AC unit for my home. I have received a couple other quotes from companies around the Valley but decided to give George Brazil a call to get a final quote! MISTAKE! Being a young homeowner, I am not very savvy when it comes to purchasing something of this matter! I was speaking with the gentleman over the phone about what I was looking for, he was very pleasant until I had mentioned the 3 other quotes I had previously received and I wanted to compare those quotes to the one he could give me.. Then it got nasty.  He stated I am getting quotes on trash The unit I will get if I go with a different company will be garbage Never go to those cheap mom and pop companies. I understand George B needs to make money, but an experience like that will not help you retain or attract new customers. I am sorry to say I will not be calling this company again, no potential customer should be spoken to like that.. Imagine the treatment I would get if I called to report a problem with a unit they installed... YIKES!

Just purchased new Trane AC.  Great company.  Sales guy was NO pressure. Gave best price and offered either a Trane or (I think) a York unit. Chose Trane. Install was next day. Guys were right on time. Professonal. Covered everything. Took their time. Cleaned up every ounce of dirt. Waited until I got WiFi thermostat account set up on line (they really did not have to do that).  Great craftsmen ship on sweating pipes, duct work, etc. Perfect example of how a service business should be run! Can't say enough good things. (Pete D and Justin P were my techs). Dave was the Sales guy.

Had my AC go out. I completed what troubleshooting I could myself. Confirmed that the compressor was working properly, checked the breakers and fuses. Isolated it to the blower motor was not working for some reason. I even went as far as changing the capacitor. Since it was now getting beyond my scope. I carefully considered who I was going to call to assist. I read tons of reviews and decided on calling George!  They were able to send out a Tech last night. He was pleasant enough and came in to look at the blower.  Much to my dismay, he climbed the ladder looked at the unit and declared yep, $1000! As he hadn't done any testing, I asked specifically for what? He said the blower motor was burned out and needed replacing. But more importantly my system is old and I should replace it instead of paying $1000 for the replacement motor, I could get a new one for $8000.  When I didn't bite he went outside and looked at the compressor and said well think about it, he could do it for $6500. I told him we would think about it but for now let's go with the fix.after he charged me the $79.95 service charge. He said, he would order the part and call me today to schedule the repair. To my disappoinment I never received a call. Not wanting to go another day without AC, I called AC Experts and got Sam. He was awesome. Not only was he able to get my AC repaired. He took his time to diagnose the problem and discovered the circuit board was bad (hmm, I even asked about that to the other tech). He not only fixed my issue so now I have AC, He saved me HUNDREDS of dollars. Thanks for absolutely nothing George Brazil! You have been a pure disappointment and I my book a complete fraud.

I just had new of install 2 new AC units with heaters and new blowers. They arrived at 630 am and left after 12 grueling hours of work. The crew was amazing. In addition we were quoted for 2 York units which they were out of so we were upgraded at no charge to 2 trane units. I will recommend George Brazil to anyone without reservation!

Our A/C went out in the middle of the night.  I called George Brazil the next morning at 7:30 a.m. and we had Mike out by 10 a.m. the same day.  Our A/C had a lot of issues as the builder had not put in the correct unit for our square footage.  Mike laid out all the facts and gave us options.  We ultimately decided to purchase a new unit to correct all of the issues we had with the old one.  The next morning Greg came out to start the installation.  Greg and his team were INCREDIBLE!  I don't think I've ever met a nicer guy.  He was kind and respectful.  I got updates throughout the day.   And Greg went the extra mile and took my dogs out for a walk and made sure they had water and food.  I was so impressed!  Our A/C is working great and while no one wants to spend that kind of money unexpectedly - I'm grateful that I reached out to George Brazil because they made the process easier to deal with.

One of our AC units wouldn't start and we called George Brazil.  They were able to get a technician out within a couple of hours, but instead of fixing the issue, the technician pushed the up sell of a new AC unit in which he said would cost upwards to $10k.  He left without fixing our unit. We called another HVAC company and they came out the very next morning.  Instead of needing a new compressor or replacement of unit, all we needed to get the unit up and running was to replace the capacitor, which only costs about $40 to replace for material alone.  I'm disappointed that George Brazil tried to up sell when they clearly knew they could have fixed our unit easily.  DO NOT use them, because they will take advantage of people that don't have the time to get a 2nd opinion.  We basically wasted the cost of the service call to a company with no integrity. I wrote to George Brazil and no response back.  It's been a week now and my unit has been running fine with this heat we've been getting.

After seeing their ads on tv I thought they were reputable.   Instead the lady that came to service the ac was so busy going to upsell vs. repair.  I unfortunately had to get firm with her and ask if she could or could not clear the drain lines so that it would stop leaking water.  She said yes for $450 but to add freon would be $1170.    She ended up only charging $250 as in her words was afraid I would complain to the company but no freon, just to clear the clogged drain line.    She still over charged for her time and I would never use GBrazil again.  I called Red Wolf Mechanical the next day and what a professional organization they are without up selling and they explained everything and added the freon that GBrazil quoted $1170 to add the freon.   Actual cost $65. This was for my home in PV, not my Tucson home.

Way over priced. Our AC unit quit working at 9pm on a Saturday night. We gave George a call because they were available 24/7. The tech arrived within an hour, which was pleasing. After looking at the unit for a couple mins he said we needed a new fan motor and capacitor and said it would be $750 plus $50 for the service call, so basically about $800 total. I told him that price seemed way too high and he said he'd get approval to lower it to $650.  That price is still well over the avg cost that I found by other AC repairman which should be between $400-$500. The labor on this job takes 30mins and parts run a total of $200.  In the end, I found another company on yelp that was able to come to my house on a Sunday and swap out the fan motor and capacitor for $300.  Be careful and call another repairman for a 2nd opinion or price quote before hiring George Brazil

Brandon W from George Brazil Air Conditioning & Heating was very friendly and still professional in his approach to servicing my air conditioner in mid July 110+ temperature. He located the problem and provided the solution, explaining the issue to me in easy terms. He offered an additional one year extension on my service contract for a reasonable fee. At the end of the appointment, he remembered to reset the thermostat back to the appropriate temperature and to open vents that I had closed in error. He was a good representative of the company.

Have a warranty on the heat pump unit and had a maintenance agreement. They stil wanted over $1200. to clean the coils and replace the blower motor contactor.  Just gave me a song and dance why nothing was covered. I let them put in the probably $40. part for $350. Horrible experience. I hate to even give them 1 star. They are worth none at all. Do business with them at your own risk. Pathetic customer service. Update: Had another service tech out. He said both sets of coils do not need cleaning. Everything okay

I had called this company (after seeing and hearing all the ads) when my unit wasn't performing the other month.   The tech went up and right away got it working but then told me it was working for now.  Told me  two things needed replacing (due to a bug getting snapped???)  and the cost were around the same as a five year service contract.  So I thought the service contract would be better and did that.  Having buyers remorse and getting a call from my normal guy after the weekend (he was out on Friday) and him telling me what he would  have charged (I also checked out these repairs on the interest)  I was livid.  I called up and cancelled the service contract (thank goodness I don't have to have them coming out twice a year and who knows)
and got the employee discount for the repairs.  I learned a BIG lesson....second opinion and who not to call!

called george brazil.. my ac unit was blowing warm air. I had to rent a motel room for the night for my dogs and myself.
George brazil sends out a tech he was courteous and very much on time.
he told me I needed a capacitor he said mine blew out.
literally 30 minutes later, the work is complete
he reads off my invoice very fast.. and in words I do not understand due him being a AC tech and me not being one.

Ten minutes after he left my house, I called him. Told him I was curious about the charges. He told me the 199.99  was a warranty for 1 year..  he told me that I also had to pay for a starter kit and If I had not purchased the 199.99 warranty then the charges would have been higher.  I still was not satisfied with this.
I called George Brazil air conditioning @ 602-842-0009  a man named chris answered just like this:  is this Kelli, btw that's my name, yeh.. I said yes it is.  I said did he.. the service tech just call you and discuss our conversation? he said no I was JUST ON THE PHONE with another Kelli, I said oh, how strange. I told him I was interested in hearing about my charges, he was on the defense I could hear it in his voice. He said:  if you are looking on the internet for pricing on ac work, we charge differently. Don't get me wrong I know things cost money and sometimes things are expensive, I have NO problem with this, I do however have a problem with these charges being vague. I work hard for my money and I'd like to think.. I have been charged fairly.

What a freakin horrible experience. It was the middle of August and my AC broke on a Wednesday night. I was under the impression that George Brazil was a good company so I called them first. The repair guy that came out was friendly and helpful, but I wasn't really planning on getting it repaired. It is too old, turns out the repair guy doesn't handle new installs, I have to pay him $90 for coming out and then wait for a sales guy to come out.
Luckily the Sales guy came out the same day, this was Thursday. Well this sales guy was a huge jerk. He comes in and spends a couple minutes looking around and then tells me that I need to replace all of my ducts. I don't and I know that. It was pretty clear that he was here to sell me new ducts and that was his job. I told him I didn't want the duct work and he got pissed and stormed out of my house. I was in shock, he didn't even want to sell me the AC without the new ducts, which by the way made it a $10,000 plus job. Well, I'm not and idiot and I'm not going to get bullied into wasting money, so I let him leave. In the middle of August, I was obviously committed to using them and the shady sales person was using that to force me to get new ducts. Luckily, my family knows a trustworthy AC guy named Bob over at Aireco and he came out right away and got me set up with a better AC unit installed for $5400.
The problem is, the day I wasted with George Brazil meant that Bob didn't come out until Friday and it was too late for him to get it done that week, I had to wait till Monday. So I went 5 days with no AC. Of course, it saved us thousands so it was worth it.
The moral of the story is, make sure you know someone trustworthy before your AC breaks. You don't want to be stuck dealing with someone like these guys. Of course Bob can charge way less than these guys. He's not spending a ton on advertising, in fact he doesn't advertise, he only need word of mouth. And he doesn't employ a bunch of shady sales people. Well, to be honest, you can't blame the salesperson. I'm sure he has to be shady cause he works for a shady company.

I wanted to take advantage of their special Check-up price and was advised that a service tech would be at our home between 12 Noon and 4:00 PM. After waiting all day, he actually showed up past 4:30 PM, looked at the unit on our clay tile roof and stated that he was fairly large and if he steps on the tiles, he will probably break them. Is it odd that an HVAC unit would be on the roof in Arizona? He suggested that he will have another smaller tech come out for the service sometime in the future. I called to reschedule and received a callback stating that they were too busy with the hot weather to send anyone out at this time and would get back in touch with me. The special tune-up coupon never appeared again and they never had the courtesy to call me back. I always thought this company was customer oriented, but found out from personal experience that they are NOT.

Horrible service. I do not understand how people like this stay in business. It must be due to all the bad advertising.
We made an appointment for a week out per their request with an enormous service window of 4 hours. Not being the worst of it they NO SHOWED an NO CALL to reschedule.
Don't waste your time and money here it's best spent elsewhere.

GEORGE BRAZIL IN GOODYEAR (DRIVER EDDIE) DISHONEST AND UNCARING:

The driver came to do a free diagnostic on our a/c unit that stopped working the night before...it was now 102 outside.  His written estimate was $376.08, he pressured me to call my husband at work and see if he could stay to do the repair.  I told him I would discuss it with my husband later in the day and call the office if we decided to go with them.  He proceeded to use scare tactics about the heat,  saying I'd better not wait.  I saw him to his wan.

The DETAILS of the VISIT:
He came in the house, checked the Honeywell programmable thermostat and I let him know that my mom who is 88 lives with us.  He went out back to the a/c unit while I tended to my kids (6 and 8).

When he was leaving I asked him two questions,  What caused the a/c to stop cooling? and Did you make any changes outside?  Well, SPEAKING TO ME LIKE I WAS AN EIGHT YEAR OLD he used phrases like these things get tired and they just don't like the heat, then he admitted to shutting off the main, but not to disconnecting wires on the unit itself.  

Our house was built May 2011, we moved in that July, so the unit is only 4 yrs. old and no one before Eddie had opened the unit this year.

It wasn't until Mike from MAH Air Conditioning (who performed the repair the next day) showed me a pair disconnected wires that I realized what Eddie did.  I was so angry, I expected this guy to be professional and honest, he was neither.  We'll never call George Brazil again.

Mike was only at our house maybe 10 minutes and I was able to stay outside while he did the repair of replacing the worn out compressor, no bigger than a kids cup.  He was kind enough to show me the difference between a bulging worn out compressor from a flat new one.  

My bill was $45.00 (deductible for our home warranty) and that's it...$45.00.

He was great... he even got a tip($) for being honest, respectful and true-blue.  My recommendation for honest a/c repair is MAH Air Conditioning...ask for Mike!

do not call them, they sent out garret, he did not take apart the fan area, but wanted to charge me for a new motor, 700.00, and also wanted me to look at 6000,00 to 10,000 unit, the scheduler said it would be a free estimate, he said I owed him 79.95, he did nothing, he then insulting me that I am not sorry, and I told him to leave my house. So guess what I had my husband order a part online, total was 13.00, guess what it works, This company has gone down hill since Tony left, he was the best service man around. All they care about is taking your money. His supervisor should read this.

I was taken aback that a scheduling person would have the nerve to ask me to change may Appointment less than 3 hours before my service time slot. This is very poor customer service, and I have just spent $9000 to purchase and install a new heat pump in November 2016.
I expect a lot better service than to be harassed by their scheduling people, for asking me to reschedule my appointment. I would have never bought the heat pump in the first place if I would have know that I would have been treated this poorly. To make matters worse the scheduling person told me when she called at 2:39pm that a service tech came to my door and that I was not at home. I told her she was mistaken since I walk to the door when she called me and no service tech was there. She basically was calling me a liar and was not professional​ in her demeanor. That's when I told her, I am tired of your scheduling people calling me and being totally disorganized. I have never in 30 plus years of scheduling AC service have seen such a disorganized mess. I was called by at least 3 different customer service people four times today.
Any other place I have dealt with in the past regarding AC services, they call once before the appointment, then the service tech calls before they are going to show up, it's not rocket science folks.
I truly regret that I am ever bought the new heat pump from George Brazil. I am very frustrated that I was told that I need to get a year service check from you guys every year, otherwise it might void my warranty.  This information from George Brazil is not true, as long as the Heat pump is serviced by and authorized York service company.  I will try another authorized York service company on my next yearly service check so that I don't void the warranty.

I recently purchased a new AC unit from G.B. The salesman Monte was excellent (on time, knowledgeable, friendly & low/no pressure). The unit was priced at what I expected. Install was scheduled 2 days later. The install crew showed up Sat. morning on time & were courteous. That's where the feel good ends.

The next day the air conditioner stopped blowing cool air & started blowing room temp air. Made several attempts to contact their office but their phones were down. Luckily I had Monte the saleman's cell phn# & he was able to get Chris from their office to call me and schedule a service appointment for the next day @ 4:00pm. However since their computers were down Chris couldn't enter it into their system but that I had his word someone would be at my house @ 4:00.

4:00 the next day I call to confirm that I am scheduled for service that day but find out that my appointment was never entered & I am NOT on the schedule. However they will send a tech as soon as possible (no guarantees about time). So I'm typing this review as I'm waiting (well into my third hour) wondering how much longer I'll have to wait & thinking that I should remove one star from their rating for each additional hour I wait.

Bought a new unit and it has gone out 6 times in 2 months.  What a joke.  I would give them zero stars as it always takes at least a day to get out here and they can't fix the problem.  Time for a new unit.  I would not recommend them for anything at this point. Can never reach a supervisor.

I have been a George Brazil customer for several years. We have never had a problem until a few months ago. I had some repetitive bad customer service issues with them and I would have thought they wanted to resolve them, especially since they provided us with a quote for total AC replacement and we were considering them. However, I was wrong. The last conversation I had I asked for a supervisor to call me. It has been 2 months and I'm still waiting on that call.  It's unfortunate.

We had had our AC unit break on us twice. Both times we call and they give us an estimate of times they should arrive. The first incident we told them not to call the home owner (my brother) because he was deployed and wouldn't answer the phone. We gave them the number (my number) to call. They called the home owners number to confirm the appointment. Because nobody answered the phone they decided to cancel the appointment. They had my number to call but they didnt call me. Today our AC is blowing hot air so i call them to have them come out. They refuse to talk to me because im not the home owner when i have called them before without the homeowner. So i called my brother who is stationed in another state to call them for me. So they told my brother they will arrive between 3-7. Well its now 7:22 pm and nobody has shown. My brother calls to see what happened. They told him that they called but nobody answered so they canceled the appointment. My brother never received a call. They told my brother the # they called him at. They apparently called the # that we told them the last time to remove because its no longer in service. First of all why do they need to call to confirm when its an emergency. Of course someone is going to be home. Its the middle of summer in AZ. I am beyond pissed. This is the most unprofessional business i have seen. If you guys need emergency service good luck in getting anyone to come out. I naw have to wait up till midnight and pray that someone will show up.

So where to start, George Brazil not the company i thought they could of been. Shady, sleight of hand, over charge, whatever else you can think of along those terms you nailed it. I called to have my A/C unit serviced that means looking and telling me what is wrong and we take steps from there to fix it. Now before a George Brazil rep gets on here to tell you it was to old i understand it is old i wanted to know more than ITS OLD! To start it was 60 bucks to service my unit and on my service that was MAYBE! (That is a strong maybe) 20 min on my roof and 20 min telling me my unit old and a new unit starts around 7 grand. Sorry i didnt know you where a technician and a salesman. The tech can only tell me there are no numbers, to get readings and rules it as an extremely old unit. So there is the first thing. The second i was charged for task 22, which is a tune up, where the tech is suppose to give you a sheet of numbers that he took from pressure reading and temp reading but on my service since there was no numbers to get readings and my unit was extremely old i didnt get anything. So after telling me it is old and saying new unit is 7 grand starting still charges me 60 bucks. Not happy about the service i called the customer service number to ask what the tech was SUPPOSE do and finding out he did do what was required. I Became infuriated. Requested the tech called me back and demand my money back. Fast forward to the tech calling me he then becomes apologitic saying he is sorry and he can refund me and then to end it tells me my unit is extremely old again.

Cut to monday night my A/C stops working, having to get someone there to fix ASAP as my house was 96 degrees, we got very lucky and at 7:45 another guy came out and come to find out my caps to the high side and low side A/C lines were off just sitting on the bottom of the A/C unit and the low side line had freeon leaked all over the line. The new A/C guy found out the capacitor for the blower motor was reading 4.2 when it was suppose to read atleast 10. Shooting new freeon in and replacing the capacitor unit is back up and running and running cooler air.

Moral of the story watch out with George Brazil not saying all techs are bad but when they are the face of the company it leaves bad rep. It is unacceptable in my opinion to charge 60 bucks for MAYBE! 20 min on the roof and another 20 min trying to up sell a unit and never tell me any readings that he took but when coming back after calling and double checking his work he says the readings are all good and everything is good and freeon is good. How is that trustworthy information.

I will not reccomend George Brazil or do anymore work with George Brazil.

My only advice is good luck to those that do use them.

They advertise all this nice stuff on TV. I have asthma, called to request a quote to have my vents cleaned in my apartment. Got a curt We don't do apartments mam. Sorry for being a second class citizen living in an apartment. I imagine this is a great loss of money for them with all the apartment buildings going up in the area.

Thanks for nothing, George Brazil.  Our A/C was out on Saturday morning.  We called George Brazil.  We were on hold while, and then we spoke with a message taker.  That person said a dispatcher would call back later.  Three hours later, a dispatcher called back, and said they could schedule a call for that night.  So we waited.  That night, a technician called before ever coming to our house.  When we described the problem for the third time, the technician refused to come over.  An entire day and night wasted by George Brazil, and no visit, much less a repair.  George Brazil could have saved us a lot of time by turning down our call in the first place.  Well, at least it wasn't hot -- oh wait, August in Phoenix!

WOW - No thanks!!  I just called to see if I could get an estimate as to approximately how much it may cost me to replace the drip pan in my attic and blow out the clogged pipe.  I called their office number and talked to I think it was Lauren, I do understand her position, and knew that she would not know, but asked if she could have someone call me with a ball park price.  She abruptly told me no that they could not give me an estimate over the phone or have someone call me back, that I would need to have a tech come over to do it - UMMM OK  - how much would that be?  We have a special of $39.95...  So there is no way to have someone just call me to give me a ball park over the phone without having to pay?  No, do you want to talk to my manager?  Sure - transferred to Nick, short and abrupt, he threw out $750.00 to replace a $75.00 drip pan and $150.00 to blow out the pipe.. I asked why is it so high for a $75.00 drip pan - he couldn't say - as I started to say, OK thanks, he hung up on me... Wow - Great customer service!! I don't think so!

So it's been about a year since I had a tech out from George Brazil.  My AC quit and had no idea why. It is an old Carrier unit but built like a tank.  The tech inspected the unit on top of my roof.  His final assessment was that the fan motor was bad.  He insisted that the unit was so old I should consider replacing the  whole system.  I went over basic numbers and received his contact info.  I scheduled another company for a second opinion but decided to take a look for my own curiosity. I propped the ladder and climbed on top of the roof.  Upon a very basic inspection, (I do not know much about an AC unit) plain as day I can see the ground wire has deteriorated.  All that was necessary, was to use the existing ground wire and just strip it back.  It literally took 5 minutes.  I reconnected the newly stripped ground wire and boo yah, the unit was purring like a kitten.  I cancelled the scheduled tech from the other company and enjoyed conditioned air again.  I complained to customer service of George Brazil and asked why their qualified techs were able to make such a poor assessment of the status of my AC.  All they could respond with was an apology and a comped dinner and movie.  The only issue with this response is they never even sent over my dinner and a movie compensation. TLDR do not trust these guys. They are just glorified salesman trying to push service with no consequence.  Buyer beware.

On April 18, 2017 I was scheduled to have my A/C unit serviced by George Brazil.  This was part of an agreement that was offered as part of the coil replacement expense on the same unit.  That service technician refused to go up on my roof to service the unit.  I want everyone to consider the fact that George Brazil was on that same replacing a $3200. coil.  they were also up on the same roof in November for a 6 month checkup.  Please also consider that I have lived in this house for 22 years.  Two rooftop units were replaced 9 years ago and routine service calls have been made on the HVAC system over the past 22 years.  All of a sudden in April 2017 there developed a fear of going up on my roof.  Where did this come from?  No mention of concerns by anyone else until April 18, 2017...22 years after we moved in!!!!
The service call was reschedule for first call, 8 am, on Monday May 8, 2017 by Michelle (she was part of the installation team).  This date, time  and technician were offered by the scheduler from George Brazil.  Then on Friday May 5, 2017 I received a call confirming my appointment.  Now all of a sudden I was told that the appointment would be sometime between 8am and 12 noon and Michelle was NOT the technician assigned.  I directed the scheduler to get me the time and technician previously committed and to call me back to reconfirm.  You guessed it....no return phone call.
At 9:15am on May 8 I had not seen or heard from anyone at George Brazil.  I left the house and returned at 10:05am.  Michelle was now at the house and she went to the roof to service the unit.  Afterwards she said that I needed to have a part replaced at my expense of $180 but that she would not extend the service agreement.  I told Michelle that I would not be spending another penny with George Brazil.  WHO WOULD CONTINUE TO DO BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY THAT CONTINUALLY FAILS TO FULFILL COMMITTMENTS MADE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS?  To many competitors and so little time

The guys at George Brazil are awesome, it was a long hot day for them but they got the job done faster than we expected. They were neat, clean, polite and professional. I had no clean up after they left, inside or out! Our new AC is great! I highly recommend them!

Very pleased with service tech Conrad at George Brazil!   My furnace was blowing just cold air.  I first called a different heating contractor out of Tempe on 12/28/18 who arrived and said my compressor & capacitor needed replaced & the fan was making a lot of noise so he felt the shaft was broken.  He said cost of repairs would be close to total replacement so he recommended that.  (My system is 8 yrs old.)  He said the cost would be $9100 but if I signed that day he would give me a $2500 discount.  He refused to give me a written estimate also.  I pretty much escorted this scammer to the door at that point.   I then called George Brazil who sent Conrad out the next day. He took photos of all needed repairs to show me in advance and gave me a complete estimate.   He said he would replace the capacitor & if that didn't resolve the issue he would remove it at no cost. Once he opened everything up, the refrigerant was leaking of which he showed me a video of.  He then welded the leak & refilled the refrigerant.  All for less than $1300!  Plus he said my system is good for a minimum of 10 additional years.  I highly recommend Conrad at George Brazil!

I'll start with the good. They showed up on time and was professional. Once the tech looked at my AC unit I was told that I needed a fan motor, and this information was correct this is what I suspected was wrong. The George Brazil tech also told that me the AC  coils needed cleaned,  this made me suspicious as I had just had them clean 2 months prior. Then the tech looked in my AC return vent, took out the filter and told me I needed my ducting sealed. The quote for the ducting was $1133 , the quote for the replaced fan motor $781. I chose not to go with the company that night.  The next day I called a different HVAC company, a small business owner, this tech verified that the coils were fine and clean. My ducting was sealed and insulated and did not need this service. I was able to get the fan motor replace for $274 including labor from my second company. If you feel like somethings not right, it's worth the time to get a second quote, and in my case it saves me a lot of money.

Way overpriced!!!! Told me I needed a gas valve- that alone was $854 and couldn't get the part right away. The repair man I used was $500 and went to a warehouse and got it in 30 min.  George Brazil told me that they would not do the repair unless I got a crane to move my unit over two inches. That was $700. FOR A CRANE! The repair man I used didn't use a crane. He used himself and another man, plus they replaced my bolts and repositioned my stand. Price for that was $100. My repair man said that there was no reason to use a crane for that repair. The guy I used also found my ignition was faulty. Something that was not caught by GB. So I would have been $1600 in and would have no other choice to get something else fixed. I paid $900 total for all my repairs and repositioning. THAT IS $700 + that I saved. This place is a joke. And yes my repair man was lic. and bonded.

We purchased a new AC unit just over two years ago.  The install was great and the unit itself has been wonderful.  My reason for not giving them a perfect rating is the follow up service and communication.  My latest service appointment was cancelled right before they should have arrived.  The reason was that they had too many appointments for failed units.  I'm sorry...but we had an appointment so this should have been priority.  I would never do this to a customer.  Part of my purchase agreement included twice a year service.  This is two in a row that will be missed now.  In the future I will go with a company that stands by their service appointments.  I'm sure that if my appointment was to buy another unit it wouldn't have been cancelled.

Our heat went out 2 nights ago. A worker from George Brazil came over and did the inspection. He said the compressor, refrigerant, filter, capacitors plus labor would be $3848.28 and that the warranty on the work would be good for a year. If we bought a new unit it would be around 9000 but it would include duct work and all the other bells and whistles. Not having the money and not sure I really wanted to finance for a new unit I told him we would think about it. He wasn't pushy and he said he wouldn't be and that was nice.  So now I am sitting here in my WARM house and i still have money to feed my family, my mortgage, my car payment and utilities. All it ends up being is the blower! The BLOWER!! How can you guys that work at George Brazil check the unit if the most basic part doesn't even WORK?! I trusted this company. I trusted you and you committed the ultimate sin and I do not trust you guys at all. I don't trust you with my family, friends and anyone else who thinks they are getting a good deal and end up getting ripped off. I am so upset. My kids were cold last night when all that needed to happen was replace a new blower!!! I bet that would have cost about 1000 dollars to do right? Pathetic.

I just talked to these people about re-running my cooling lines from my ground AC unit to my air-mover in my attic. I happen to have an AC unit that is covered by my home warranty but all cooling lines are not and I am free to hire whomever I choose to do any work on them. I was informed by the people at George Brazil that they DO NOT SERVICE HOMES THAT CARRY A HOME WARRANTY. PERIOD. So, I guess if you happen to have a home warranty, you needn't bother even call these guys. Business must be pretty good over there, as I can't remember the last time I called a contractor to hire them for a job that flat out said no. I suppose they have their reasons, and I understand not wanting to work FOR home warranty companies, acting as their repair techs, but I don't understand why you wouldn't want to scoop up all the work that ISN'T covered by anyone's warranty. It's like a plumber saying that though your home warranty doesn't cover the waste-water line from your house to the street, they flat out refuse to even consider fixing it for you because of your home warranty status. I guess the economy in Brazil isn't as bad as I thought it was.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could! It's not every day that you come across a company that goes so far above and beyond in the name of customer service. I have been a member of the VIP program that includes inspections, priority scheduling, part discounts, etc. and have felt it is worth every penny (especially living in AZ where not having A/C is an emergency)  I have an 8+ year old A/C unit and they were able to recommend maintenance work to help me get some more years out of it before replacing. During the maintenance work some unrelated things stopped working and George Brazil replaced them complete FREE of charge. Fast forward, I am now a landlord to the house instead of living there and was disheartened by a call from the tenants that the A/C wouldn't turn on. A part that was replaced 3 month prior went out, and due to a technicality the warranty was voided. I  was of course not happy about this, but agreed to pay them to replace the part. When the air is out in the middle of summer you need it fixed ASAP. Later that evening after they replaced the part I received a call for what I thought was to pay the bill. Instead I was informed that some calls we made and they would honor the warranty and cover the cost 100%. I am impressed by a company that would do that after I had already agreed to pay. These guys stand behind their work. A special shout out to Conrad and Mike, you guys rock!

A/C Unit installed today by Jason and Calvin.  Notified they were coming, and they arrived on time (wow, isn't that appreciated!).  Excellent job of covering floors in the house while the work was done in the attic.  They were efficient and cleaned up when finished.  No complaints - would use them in the future!

Having seen an advertisement for George Brazil's $59 special for a 21-point A/C tune-up, I went on their website where it said that there are two different tune-up options -- a 21-point and a 59-point tune-up.  I called the phone number and spoke to Haley.  I asked her what the difference is between the two options.  After a several-second pause, she asked me for clarification.  I repeated that I wanted to know the difference between the 21-point and 59-point tune-up, and what the price is for the 59-point tune-up.  Clueless, she said that she is new and needed to ask someone else in the office.  After a brief hold, she came back and informed me that no one in the office knows about those.  Perplexed, I said, Really?  This is George Brazil Air Conditioning & Heating, and you can't answer my question about a standard A/C unit tune-up??  She said, Oh, so you want to schedule a tech to come look at your system? to which I replied, Well at this point your lack of knowledge about something as simple as an A/C tune-up is a really big red flag.  That's like calling a pediatrician's office to schedule a check-up for your kid to get immunizations are and them telling you that they don't know what immunizations are!  I said, Haley, to be honest with you, I really think you need to learn about the services your company offers if you're going to interact with customers.  She said, Allright, thank you and then the call ended.  SCARY!!  This is first AND LAST experience with George Brazil.

I initially wanted to give this a 4 star; however, Yelps categorization of Yay, I am a fan isn't exactly appropriate. Quite frankly, I don't trust George Brazil. For clarification, The customer service and office personnel are GREAT! They really do try to work with the customer and they really do try to make things right... however, it is their service personnel that I don't trust. Two of the four that have came to my home have tried to sell me a new a/c unit and made rude remarks like, Well I hope it lasts you another 4-5 years. This is odd because the unit air handler is under 15 years old and the heat pump is under 10 (there are houses from the 1970s with still working air conditioners on them and they are trying to tell me that a less than 15 year old (total) unit is already on the brink). I realize it can all be related to how well the system was maintained; however, I'm not buying it.

That being said, they were not overly pushy... just rude about it. Secondly, we never had any A/C problems at all until we decided to get on their maintenance plan. Then all of the sudden things started going out. Is this proof positive they did something wrong? ...no. In fact, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and chock it up to coincidence.

My biggest problem with George Brazil is the service personnel don't seem to know what they are talking about when it comes to company policy. Case in point, I was told in the winter that my refrigerant was a bit low (not horrible but a bit low) and that I would probably need to have someone top it off when spring/summer hit (as temperatures affect the volume). I asked the guy how much they charged for that? He informed me that if I spent another couple of hundred and get their service plan that it would be taken of. I mentioned that would be fine as I was also concerned that the drain pipe may be plugged and need blown out. He said that would also be included. Thinking this was a win-win, I paid the additional amount and put my mind at ease until spring/summer.

When spring/summer rolled around I was called by George Brazil to schedule the service (as per the contract). Lo and behold, the new service guy arrived and stated the refrigerant and blowing out of the drain pipe would be an additional charge. I informed him that this is not what the previous guy said and proceeded to pull out the paperwork. He then argued with me about what the paper said. Since he was a bit rude about it, I called the main line of George Brazil (who reiterated what service guy stated but agreed to perform the tasks if I would agree to give up one of my service calls). This was fine (as that is what I thought we were doing anyhow). The management and phone service personnel were great about it and they were truly trying to make it right. Which is fine; however, the first service guy apparently suckered me into a contract on a lie (whether intentional or not), and when confronting the second guy he was rude about it. He even made suggestive remarks about what a nice home, television, and car we have. What's wrong with complimenting that? Well... it was done in a sarcastic manner with the insinuation that we could afford to pay him for blowing out the drain pipe and topping off the refrigerant (and it concluded with a remark of, I sure wish I had those things.). Maybe we could afford it, maybe we couldn't... but when we bought into a contract on the basis that services were included... we expected what we paid for. He was just plain out RUDE about it!

They are now calling me to schedule another maintenance (probably with more hidden costs). I told them I wanted to cancel the service call but they still keep calling anyway. At this point, I don't even care if we are reimbursed for the unused service call.  I just don't trust whoever they are going to send out (and I don't want other things going wrong within 2-3 weeks after the visit). I'd rather them keep the money and not touch it again. The company itself is great and customer focused but the service personnel need more training (and to understand their own service agreements, regardless of which service person was telling the truth). Plain and simple... I don't trust them anymore.

Wow! Just called to schedule an appointment to have them come out and do an inspection/tuneup before cranking up my heater. They asked if I had a home warranty and I said yes. They won't do business with me. Told me to call one of the warranty company's contacts. I told her I don't plan to use the warranty company and they said doesn't matter they will not service anyone with a home warranty. So I guess if you want to do business with be sure to tell them you have no home warranty. Makes no sense to me.

Horrible! Kept us waiting all day (then tried to charge $39 for after hours call) and totally ripped us off!! Did some research after the repair was done (and the bill was paid) and realized that the part (AC transformer) was between $15-$50. It took technician less than hour to replace it and we were charged $495 - so over $400 for less than an hour of labor. Dishonest, reprehensible, disgusting, etc!

I give would give this company less than 0 stars if it was possible. Lance came out, looked at the unit for 2 minutes and decided he wanted to earn commission on selling a brand new unit. They prey on people who don't have AC knowledge and when it's over 100 degrees just need cold air for their family. I will never use them or recommend them to anyone. Call Reeds Crew Services instead, they are honest, fair and fixed our unit in 30 minutes. A job George Brazil wanted $9,500 for.

We had George Brazil come out to service our unit. Instead of service we got a sales pitch for thousands of dollars worth of equipment and services. We told him no. We knew the condition of our unit and it just needed some routine maintenance. He argued with us for 20 minutes. We finally told him that we weren't buying anything from him and asked that he please complete the service as promised. After this he became very rude. When he left, we went on the roof to check the unit. We discovered that all of the insulation had been removed and left on the roof. We called the business office to get someone to come back and do it right. The woman on the phone said that she didn't believe us, and that the service person we had was one of their best. ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. NOT TRUSTWORTHY. QUESTIONABLE ETHICS. We told them that we were going to file a BBB report againt them. The gentleman on the phone informed us that he would just tell the BBB that he tried to resolve our problem and that we were being unreasonable. He said that he had a good reputation with the BBB and our complaint wouldn't matter anyway we were just one family and they service thousands.

I can't say enough positive praises for Service Pro Charley L.   This is our first time needing any air conditioning services. Charley called ahead to let us know when he was arriving & he was prompt. Not only was he courteous & professional,  but he was genuine and honest with his inspection and was not pushy. We had the HVAC unit in our home replaced with a new unit we purchased through George Brazil. Otis and Hiram were the technicians who performed the install.  They both worked very hard and did a great job making sure everything was done right and woking properly. They were polite, curtious and knowledgeable and truly lived up to the company's reputation for quality service.

I've had a good relationship with the HVAC maintenance person for years but over the course of the last three weeks things have soured significantly.  The motor on my AC was replaced on the recommendation of the maintenance person.  By 8pm that day it was obvious that the motor was a dud.  I called Geo Brazil, they sent someone out in the middle of the night with a rescue motor; all still good.  About 4 days later they came out and replaced the rescue with a permanent fix.  Within 2 weeks that motor also went out.  This time the response from the office wasn't so good.  The woman on the phone could only ask me about how I was going to pay for the replacement...now remember, this is is the replacement!  Paying for it should not have been part of the discussion at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I finally screamed at her, I never do that, she just wouldn't listen to me, it was all about the money.  Her supervisor finally came to the phone...oh you shouldn't have to pay for it, he says, duh.  They replaced the second dud later that evening but the lack of concern for my comfort and safety was appalling.  My unit is still under warranty so I'm stuck but I wouldn't willingly sign up for GB if I had a choice.

I was referred to George Brazil from a family member who got a smoking deal on a new Trane air conditioner and the install.  They were able to match the deal for me and I've had no complaints.  They completed the full install, provided me with a reusable air filter, and even replaced some of the duct work in the process.  They always call me to schedule an inspection on the system every six months, like clockwork.  Reliable, honest, and they stand behind their work - that's all I could ask for and I'd recommend their services to anyone.

Calvin and Jose, great guys, very professional, extremely detail oriented. They arrived on time, took great pains to cover and protect everything in the house. Once that was complete they went to work preparing to test the ventilation system for leaks. The system was good, so carefully cleaned and sealed everything, took all the grills outside and washed them off, and after putting everything back together, ran anther test. They difference between the before and after tests, about a 55% improvement in the air flow efficiency.  Money well spent, strongly recommend George Brazil.

We have been using George Brazil since they installed our HVAC system about 5 years ago and did a great job.
Since then we have had them out regularly for service checks, never any problems, just don't want any problems.
We have always felt safe and always very pleased with the service tech's that have come out, however today we had a new tech, Charley. As I mentioned above we have always been very pleased but Charley really went above and beyond, he asked if we have ever had our duct work checked and/or cleaned, and the answer was no. He asked if he could take a little extra time and look them over. Needless to say the duct work has a buildup of dirt/dust/dog hair... Charley also mentioned that SRP was offering a substantial rebate on duct work testing and repairs, he then mentioned how the testing is performed and what repairs will be done.
No pressure to do anything, he simple mentioned some of the other services GB offers and how duct cleaning, testing, repairs, may help with the systems performance, and help reduce some of the dust that is coming through the system.

If you care about your family and finances do not use this company!
We needed a new ac unit installed in our residential home because our old unit stopped working &  needed a costly compressor . It wasn't worth fixing so we opted for a new unit. George Brazils initial quote was  $15,000 but was quickly negotiated down to $9695.
Thankfully their blatant display of horrible customer service & total disregard for their customers well being was exposed prior to the installation, but not before they charged me for the full $9695, 3 days prior to the scheduled installation. The problem was that my name was not listed with our county assesor because my home is privately financed and my mother in law is the lendor. George Brazil was arguing over who owned the home. I emailed legal documents ,signed notarized copies of our home contract and was told it was worthless and did not prove ownership. I had property tax statements, home owners insurance etc...
My mother in law also communicated the facts via email and multiple phone calls. I reached out to the corporate office multiple times failing to reach anyone. Finally a manager called me back a day later and stated that they would refund our money within 2 weeks ( unacceptable). No empathy, no offer to rectify the situation. We called our credit card company to reverse the charges. We found another company to install a superior unit for $6500!!!
This is the short version. Please trust that I am more than reasonable and a very patient person that has never taken the time to write a negative review but the way these people conduct business needs to be known. My family had to suffer 4 days needlessly in 112+ degree temperature due to these clowns!
Save yourself thousands of dollars and many headaches by choosing anyone else.

Yesterday I had the $19.95 tuneup on my air conditioner, sorry to say it was a horrible experience.  The tech showed up and said we do no maintenance on your system.  It cost $79.95 to come out but our advertising budget is paying for this special promotion.  I am here to sell you our services.  What a ripoff.  I will never use this company again.

Consumers beware, do not use George Brazil for any services especially Air Conditioning. My daughter called them as her house was warmer than usual. George Brazil sent a technician, who charged my daughter $80 for the service call. He then tried to sell my daughter a new AC unit and Air handler, which as it turns out was a dirty air return filter. Can you imagine? What kind of sheister outfit is this George Brazil? Guess how much it would have cost her? 128 per month for 10 years for a 3 ton unit and air handler. She was frantic, she called me for advice, I said get a second opinion. Second AC service came an No charge they said since the George Brazil charged you $80 already, we don't think it's fair. Second company said AC was old but still worked fine, call us when you need to replace. I felt the need to write this to warn others about these AC scams. Please protect your family's. If George Brazil had any scruples they'd refund my daughters $80, but like the crooks they are, they won't. I would have given them a zero rating, but I wasn't able to.

We have a medical clinic in Scottsdale. On a Saturday we lost power due to an issue with the breaker box. We literally had clients getting medical treatment. No one was in jeopardy but we needed emergency servicing ASAP. I contacted George Brazil and I explained my emergency. The woman started going through a HUGE script before she was able to get me to scheduling even though I interrupted her and begged her to get to scheduling and I would be more than happy to listen to the required advertisements and policies. She said she could not and that this had to be done. I waited. She then put me on hold and went to service. After a long hold she came back and told me before we can set scheduling we need to collect a credit card. This was very unsettling and insulting since I had used GB before...they even knew it was me by phone identification when I called! I told her that I didn't have time for this and we needed to get someone out here. She said there was no choice. I told her that I will call someone else and write a review on Yelp. She said, That would be fine.

GB spends quite a bit of time on marketing and branding as do we. We have a well known business in Scottsdale and refer business to other businesses on the regular. I don't like writing bad reviews but I would caution you if you plan on calling GB if you expect to have your service needs attended to expeditiously. It seems they put their needs far before their clients needs. Common sense would have indicated that this could have been a medical emergency and it was clearly made we had active patients at our establishment. I am very disappointed in the treatment and GB's need to put their needs above all else. I mean...come on.....there is a time and a place when exceptions can be made but SHOULD be made to benefit clients and the public. This was a very upsetting experience. I will never use them again and I will actively campaign for others not to use them.

After I hung up, I popped up electricians on google and had someone here in about 20 minutes. Please feel free to PM me for a SOLID electrician referral.

After upgrading my thermostat I found that I had no power going to it. I replaced it with the old unit for the same problem. I called George Brazil after looking at positive feedback on the web.(At second look they were all GeorgeBrazil.com. I was told since it was after hours it would cost $80 for them to come out. I said no and scheduled an appointment for first thing in the morning. The technician showed on time at 8am. I explained the problem and showed him the thermostat. He popped the cover off and promptly said that I had wired it all wrong. I responded that it was wired exactly as it was before because I had taken a picture of it before starting any work. He seemed to get an attitude at my response. I told him I had checked on line and thought that it was a fuse on the control board. This seemed to irritate him even more. He then went to his truck to look up the price estimate, even though he had yet to look at the unit.He came back and said that if it was only a fuse the cost would be $300, and if it was a transformer, which he was sure it was it would be $550. I told him that it was way too much. He then responded with a smirk,It's too much to fix YOUR mistake. I asked him to leave, which he did, again with a smirk. I went up to the attic and pulled the panel with the control board and found a 5 amp fuse blown. I pulled it and went to Auto Zone and bought a 5 pack for $3.00. I replaced the fuse and everything worked.
Not only was this guy an ahole he tried to rob and fleece me. Had I not known a little bit about electronics I would have had him fix it, probably to a tune of $550, for a 60 cent part. I will never call these people for anything EVER.
These guys prey on people that are desperate, and after they rob them the people are HAPPY, just because the A/C is working.

My wife and I decided to replace the HVAC unit on our home. This was a big decision for us since we are retired and living on a fixed income. We called local companies to start the bid process. We selected George Brazil Air Conditioning mostly because of the great reputation.  Monte, did a great job verifying that the unit size was appropriate, explaining payment options, and discussing unit options. He was very patient answering our questions. We completed the paperwork and he called to set the installation date. Later  another rep did the pre-installation inspection of our home. This step was new to us and we thought it was a great step to avoid last minute issues.
We received a confirmation call the day before the installation date to verify the work schedule. The crew arrived on time the next day. They completed the installation by midday, reviewed the operation of the new programmable thermostat, and answered our last minute questions.All members did a great job. They were professional, knowledgeable, patient, and most of all dedicated to doing a great job. We'll recommend George Brazil Air Conditioning to our friends!

Tech came and within 10 minutes told us we had a leak in the evaporative coil. Replacement of it and recharging would be about $2300 with the warranty. Said no thanks, especially after he gave us his cell phone number to call him personally. Had another company come out and our units are in great working condition. This company or its technicians have no integrity and we will never use them again.

Decided on this company after dealing with issues from another. They were polite and helpful, although messed up several times on scheduling, but quickly fixed one of the mess-ups. They offered a good price, and when there was an issue after install they came right back out and fixed it, no questions.

4/30 had a Brandon come out to my home for their 19.55 special...company opened then, regardless, my father is an ac guy told me units can last 10-25 years. I do not use my unit, very rarely since  have been in my home 5 years. Face N/S and double-pained tinted windows. Came out telling me I needed to replace my unit in the home due to BEARINGS not good on the motor.... It rained and leaked for the first time in my home. I called got a rude person o the phone and said I wanted to talk to a manager, told sure when they get in. Told her I would be missing work and could lose my job.. asked if they could come out after I got home at 535pm. TOLD 75.00m after hour fee, TOLD HER nope. Then got a call from a sales mgr Mr. V who was very apologetic and accommodating AND willing to refund my19.55. Mr. V wanted to make this right. He sent out Mr. C who was a seasoned guy and went over everything with me and suggested ways I could save myself money when asked. He was the most helpful guy I have ever encountered. I unit leaked due to a rust hole in my pan, which the first guy never even alerted me too, But with talking to Mr. C., I got some rust-oelum leak seal... worked great!  Very helpful and will use them when I need a new unit...which will be NEVER.

My A/C was blowing warm air, so I called George Brazil.  The service guy was there about 10 minutes and told me that there was no refrigerant in my system.  Instead of looking for a leak, he tried to convince me that I needed a complete new unit.  As it turned out, I had a very small leak in the coil.  George Brazil is a rip-off that is always trying to up-sell you.  I would not recommend them!

I believed that setup that ran on tv a couple years ago about finding honest ac repair company's,silly me.
A guy shows up on time a+,takes the corner panel off of my ac unit and quickly discovers a bulging capacitor,lucky you he says.
We begin discussing prices and he quotes me $750 for a capacitor and a hard start relay capacitor that he thinks is also bad...
I said there is no way I could afford that,so he says reluctantly they hate it when we do this and lovers the price to $650 total,lucky me right?
He installs the parts and nothing,the compressor is not kicking on,probably the best thing that could have happened at that point.
Quotes me $4000 for the compressor,$10000 for a complete 3ton system...takes his $100 service fee and leaves disappointed that he didn't get to rip off another customer today.
I then found both capacitor-$15 and booster-$30 on line,GE replacement with numbers matching for the capacitor.

Stay away from these crooks.

There are still good honest smaller company's out there,just don't panic and do your research.

We had George Brazil come out in June of 2016 when we were having issues with our AC. The company charged us $2,553.51 for repairs which included 3 years VIP for $549.00. For the $549.00 it included 2 check ups a year. The tech came out for September 2017 check said everything was running smooth. However when we return from our vacation last week we noticed the auto switch was not turning off and our fan was running 24/7. This was never an issue before the service call. Tech returns and all of a sudden our switch board should be replace and heat exchange should also be replaced due to rust. First sign this was rather suspicious was, if this was true why was this not noticed on the free inspection. I was charged $39.00 again for them to scare me into thinking I needed a whole new system. Well I called another AC company my neighbor uses,  they came over and for $65.00 told me that my whole system was fine. They also took photos and a video showing the heat exchange rust, yes, 6 little specks that would probably take 10 years to actually make a hole in the exchange. The board was tested and no issues. Not to mention the tech duct taped my safety switch so when we opened the panel, the unit would not shut off.  I was told these techs make commissions on work they get you to sign off on.  BEWARE - If you use them and they say you need big replacements, get a 2nd opinion saved me thousands. I now wonder if the first work they did in 2016 was also not necessary.  Live and learn!

Great service, very friendly, and explained everything.  Paid a little more than I wanted, but got excellent service.  They were on time and got the job done correctly the first time.  They were flexible on scheduling as well.  I would definitely use them again if my air/heating has any issues, but don't expect it as I just got a new unit!

Mick and Ferris did a great job on the site replacing an A/C unit.  They showed up on time and finished close to the estimated time frame. They were very professional and answered all my questions.  Prior to doing the work, they laid out tarps inside to ensure my carpet did not get dirty and they even cleaned up after themselves by vacuuming the installation area.  They walked me through the new equipment.  I was a bit surprised at the entire cost of the project as I do believe it was steep.  Nevertheless, in AZ summers, there isn't a lot of time to waste collecting estimates when the temps reach triple digits.

The service pros did everything a customer could ask in an AC installation - they were clean (leaving no dirt or trace of having been there), on time, polite, and very proficient.  I would certainly call on them again

I was given a call by the service manager Vinny, who said he contacted two Carrier distributors with my model number, and confirmed that the capacitor they placed, the 55uF is the correct value. Based on his information, I called Carrier, who told me that the compressor they use is a brand called Copeland Scroll, and the run capacitor for the unit is written directly on the compressor itself, and is also available on Copeland Scroll's website. I went outside and looked at the compressor through the grates, and also took down the model number (ZP36K3E-PFV-130) to look up the run capacitor value online. I verified Vinny's number of 55uF as being correct. Therefore, I stand CORRECTED by Vinny the service manager. I have called the new company that serviced my unit recently and replaced the 55uF with a 50uF run capacitor, and they say they will come out today and try to see if they can get the 55uF to work, based on my input (which is very kind). However, this does not excuse the fact that this run capacitor only lasted for less than a year. Vinny pointed out the fact that they install 1000's of capacitors a year, and some of them fail; unfortunately, I am one of those unlucky/dissatisfied customers that had one of these run capacitors fail within one year of getting it at the cost of $320US to replace it. I upgraded my review rating to two stars based on Vinny's input, but I cannot say I am satisfied with a run capacitor that only lasts for less than a year, regardless of whatever reason it is.

Marco G. and Chuck W. performed service on my air conditioner today.  They were respectful to me and my home.  Marco explained the details of what they were to accomplish repairing my system and the timeline. It was finished on time which i really appreciate. Job well done!

I woke up on Saturday morning and my house felt rather warm. The thermostat is set at 76 yet the temperature read at 78. I fiddled with the thermostat and an hour later it still read the same. I called a company I had used before and they could get to me 'some time next week'! Well that wasn't going to work so then I called George Brazil. The answering service said a tech could be at my house in1-3 hours! I happily accepted and about an hour later I get a call from the office. She just wanted to let me know that the tech was finishing up a job and will be calling me shortly to let me know when he would be out. Sure enough about 15 min later I got a call from Mykel and he would be at my house within 10-15 minutes. He showed up shortly after that and identified the problem (bad compressor), gave me the price and replaced the part all within about 15 minutes! My AC unit then worked awesome and George Brazil now has a customer for life! Thanks so much!

amazing experience, started with dan howell there comfort adviser, after 5 estimates he made me feel as ease, great pricing and great product went with York. the install team greg d, Jorge r angel l and martin q were on time extremely courteous and hard working. they covered there shoes and covered all areas. they were all very professional and knowledgable on there craft, put me at ease, overall entire team worked and completed job of 2 new ac units flawless. I know they will  be there  for me with annual check ups or any issues in future. a huge thank you to George brazil and team, great job  a company you can trust.

We used zilla for a few years for electrical, plumbing and AC.  Each repair costing a fortune.  They break out this three ring binder pricing model at every appointment while they try to sell some crazy priced warranty that only discounts future repair.  (discounts still don't bring the repair cost into a reasonable range)  We just had them out for AC repair on our 2 year old York that we bought from them.  We were told that the unit was a cheap model and that the coolant was overcharged.  Ultimately, it was a common problem, outside fan motor needed replaced.  With our parts warranty, that we probably paid a pretty penny for, the quote was like $775.00.  (That's with the warranty)  We had a different family-owned licensed contractor out and the total came out to less than $300.  I highly recommend shopping around before using a big name company like George. I know that I will going forward.

In March 2015, we chose George Brazil from a recommended service provider list from SRP, to inspect our AC unit in a recently purchased home in Arizona. We just wanted to be sure the AC was in good condition although it seemed to work just fine. A very personable service rep. showed up and proceeded to tell us all the things that were wrong and dangerous with our unit. Taking the bait, we ended up purchasing a new thermostat, capacitor and several other essential items to the tune of $1022.16. (No typo here, that is one thousand, twenty-two dollars. Now, less than a year later, we are back in AZ and GB calls to set up an appt. for our FREE AC inspection. Today, another personable tech arrived, checked the system and discovered that we now need to install a Hard Start Kit that if done today would only cost $346.00, but more if we requested it later. My husband declined the generous offer. I agree w/all the other negative reviews in that George Brazil's primary goal is to sell, sell, sell, new, overpriced, often unnecessary equipment to gullible homeowners like us. We will NEVER use them again. How the SRP keeps them on a preferred list is a mystery.
