Full Spectrum Artworks

Paul has created some beautiful structures on our property, 3 to date.   All beautifully constructed, functional and designed as planned.  We have had so many compliments about Paul's structures and he is a great, professional designer.  I do appreciate all he has done for us.  He's a busy guy and works solo, be patient, he'll get to you and give you an honest answer to your questions.  I highly recommend Paul and his Full Spectrum Artworks.  A few photos have already been posted of our projects, but needed to send one more with yard almost complete.

Note:  to the person who said he isn't an artist, that's an opinion on her part...he has skills to create original ideas out of steal, he can transform thoughts into sculptures.  Paul is an Artist...and I highly recommend.

We absolutely love our gates!! And Paul was incredible to work with. He listened to our thoughts and incorporated them with an artistic eye. He knows what he is doing! I have nothing but praise for Paul and the quality of his work. His technical range and artistic eye are both masterful. He has completed two projects so far on my property (over the past 6 months) and I hope there will be many more. I included pictures of both projects and I get nothing but compliments from family, friends, co-workers, contractors (too many things break in my old house), and delivery people.

If it's relevant, I can compare working with him to working with a skilled tattoo artist. For the best experience possible, you want an artist with incredible range, understands the subject matter, asks you the right questions to understand your own vision, and the ability to make the right edits to your idea and make it even better than you could have imagined. Similarly with Paul, I felt he preserved the things that inspired me in my original description but - leaning on his skill & experience - improved it tenfold, both structurally and artistically.

When the inspector for the city of Phoenix showed up to review the fence Paul built, he looked it over and said Huh, that's different, smiled, tried to shake it as hard as he could and then concluded with Well, that's not going anywhere and filled out the approval form (or whatever it's called).

Paul completed a fence for my front yard (steel and masonry combined) and my backyard (steel, mounted on existing masonry), and in both cases produced structures that are extremely strong. The original backyard fence he built over left a lot to be desired, but Paul found a way to work with the strongest pieces of existing masonry, columns and footing (where it did exist) and not only vastly improved the strength and beauty of the backyard fence but also kept the cost down significantly.

I wanted to give a shout out to an amazing artist who replaced my ugly rickety old gate with this beautiful electric gate. His first name is Paul and his business is called Full Spectrum Art Works. He is absolutely the most polite and responsive person and I would highly recommend him to all of my neighbors looking to upgrade their gates or just looking for unique metal artwork.

EXCELLENT WORK!!!
After contacting several fence and gate companies and getting expensive quotes to replace my old RV gate and another gate on the side of my house, I contacted this gentleman/artist/owner Paul and he offered to come the next day, after finishing another job, to see what he thought could be done. Paul texted me to let me know he was on his way, arrived on time and was the ONLY COMPANY who suggested that he could work with the existing framing and modify it with some fabrication to help keep the costs down, rather than just replacing everything.  
His quote was surprisingly reasonable and considerably less than 3 other companies.  
I agreed with Paul's suggestions and pricing,  
Again, he texted me on the day he was starting the job to let me know when he would arrive.  
He's a true artist and perfectionist, changing out old hinges with newly welded hinges, changing the clearance at the bottom to make certain everything opened and closed smoothly, fabricating the framing to add height and width and replacing the wood fronts with welded sheet steel.  
I chose to have Paul paint it all flat black, as a clean and dramatic contrast to my white house, rather than having him do some of his beautiful patina work.  
Giving Paul the respect he deserves as an artist and professional, I highly recommend him and his work.  I could not be happier with the end result and apparently, neither could one of my neighbors who stopped by and asked for Paul's business card because he loved the look of the new fencing and gates.

November 2020 - Once again Paul exceeded our expectations and did a spectacular repair on our old falling down gate to the carport.  He is extremely focused while working on his project. He took the old literally falling down gate that had to be dragged and lifted to force it closed - and transformed it into his own style of a cool item still fulfilling the need to keep our tiny dog from getting out.  He's really something.  He comes, sets up to do his work, cleans up after himself, is a fair and kind person you would be happy to have on your property working. We made a video of some of the project will try to load it here in Yelp for others to see what you get if you call upon Paul from Full Spectrum Artworks.  You will be glad if you call him to quote and work on your next project or home improvement.

I am so happy with the gates Paul created and installed. I wanted heavy duty durable metal gates for my front and back. Paul did not disappoint. He designed exactly what I had envisioned. From the onset of communication to the day of installation Paul was very professional and accountable. I found him on Yelp and messaged him. He returned my message promptly same day. He came over the next day to discuss and measure the job. Within 2 days he emailed me an estimate. He showed so much more initiative than any other contact that I had made for the job. Not only that, I really like his reviews on Yelp. I am going to have him do some additional work for me in the near future. I highly recommend Paul for your home improvement needs. His craftmanship is spectacular! I have added photos of his work to this review.

Terrible to work with, unreasonable, overly sensitive when given feedback that he made something different than what I asked for.  He had the nerve to say it's my best piece yet! after I told him that something wasn't what I wanted and talked about that there's a certain level of artistic license that he can take...hate to break it to you Paul, you're a metal fabricator not an artist and I hired you to fabricate something for me the way I WANT it not the way YOU want it.  
See pics of planters he made and less than a year the top coat is peeling. and when I reached out to see if he could fix it....ABSOLUTELY NO ANSWER! Completely unprofessional! Do yourself a favor and use one of the other 5 metal fabricators in the area..they can't be any worse!
Update: as you can see..overly sensitive to feedback! I didn't pay the remainder because you did not deliver what I asked for and 2 of the things you made for me I had to ask you redo and PAID TWICE FOR IT bc of your mistake and that best piece yet gate of yours was the worst piece and no longer exists bc it was hideous and was replaced with a much better one from a more professional and talented fabricator.

We raised the height of our fence and wanted a new gate that matched the height and provided some additional security. We also decided to replace our front gate to match. We love our new gates...they really add style to our yard. Paul was super responsive to our request and was able to start our project quickly. He was respectful and clean. We had some additional requests upon the completion of the work, and Paul responded right away.

So glad we found Paul! We recently purchased a cute 1930's house that had a deteriorating wooden gate and Paul's artistic touch was the perfect addition to the exterior of our home. The corrugated metal panels and patina are such a perfect fit for the house's aesthetic. He really is a true artist and such a great guy! The cost was comparable to wood which seems insane when you think about the longevity of metal AND having such an artisan doing the work.

We asked Paul if he would design and build a 'watertight' gate for our back wall.   Since it was not visible to ourselves nor others, we only needed a plain, utilitarian gate that would just keep water out.  
Paul was very quick to respond to my Yelp message, he texted me a sketch of the design, a price estimate, and approximate timeframe to complete.  He kept us informed about his progress and installed the gate within the timeframe given and the cost was a bit under his original estimate.
The gate he built is perfect!!  There are no gaps wherein water could seep and he put silicone rubber behind the frame and door seals.  We couldn't be more pleased.  
It was a pleasure working with Paul and we highly recommend him!

Our backyard fence was damaged without our knowledge, which led to our dogs getting out. We called Paul and Full Spectrum Artworks and he returned my call very quickly (within an hour probably) and was able to drive out to the East Valley for emergency work to fix our fence. The price was reasonable and we appreciated his response to our urgent problem.

He even gave us some DIY tips to try to solve the problem in case he wasn't able to make it out or we wanted to give it a try ourselves. He was very knowledgeable and thorough and most importantly, **he wanted to make sure we were satisfied with the job**.

Paul replaced an old wooden fence along with designing an RV gate and privacy section. He also repurposed an existing gate and removed excess chain link fencing, increasing my yard access. This was done in June and the fencing is rusting naturally and beautifully. The previous wood fence wouldn't have withstood this year's monsoons. We didn't flinch at all with the new one!  My yard is a work-in-progress and I will definitely ask for Paul's assistance throughout. Gracias Paul!

I had been researching replacing my RV gate and two side gates for over a year. Two out of the three gates were pretty much non-functional and all of them looked terrible. My goal was to just replace the gates with the same type of wooden slatted gates I had before. After getting several quotes from some of the larger gate companies in the Phoenix area, I found Full Spectrum. Paul came out to give me a quote and in 10 minutes explained more about the install process and possible options available than the two other companies that came out previously.

While meeting with Paul, I mentioned some of the install concerns one of the other companies had about the foundation of one of my walls that would have to hold up the RV gate. Instead of agreeing that my entire wall needed to be demolished/rebuilt and giving me an open-ended quote due to unforeseen costs during demolition like the other guys, Paul came up with a reasonable alternative that ended up working perfectly and not only offers more than enough support for the gate but also is helping support my 60 year old wall.

I went into the project just trying to regain functionality of my gates at a reasonable cost and I ended up with very sturdy and highly functional works of art. I recommend that anyone planning a project involving metalwork contact Paul.

I had other companies in the valley come out, but he was the most professional and his artistic vision really sold us. He is also very prompt, only a few weeks to get everything prepared where other companies said a minimum of 6 weeks. Give him a call, he will turn your home into a secure art piece.

Paul came through like a champ.  I had a difficult project that I was fairly picky about and he brought his best...and then some.  This was the first phase of the backyard remodel project and can't wait for the entire thing to be completed so Paul's work can be the highlight.  Paul was punctual, responsive in all communication, and even put up with one of my crazy dogs taking a quick swipe at him.  Sorry Paul!  I look forward to more projects with Paul in the near future.  His work is creative, flexible to the customer request, and he really takes pride in making his projects both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Paul did an excellent piece of work installing a gate on my property. The gate is facing my alley.
The quality and timing was perfect; he even ensured I did not have an open and exposed wall overnight as this was a 2 day job.

Paul just did a second job for my home. He'd already installed a beautiful and functional fence and gates. He just added a shade/privacy screen on my home. It faces south so can become an oven in the summer. The structure is clean and mixes wood & steel and all straight lines for a modern look that still suits my mid-century home. We own a house with a decent sized backyard in central Phoenix and are looking to purchase a trailer, which we want to store in our backyard.  We decided there was a section of fencing that would be perfect to replace with a gate, so we went to Paul to have something built from scratch and put in.  From the very start to the end of the project he is great to work with.  Good communication and followup, great ideas and he got the whole job done just as envisioned, quickly, and right on budget.  We couldn't be happier with the gate and just how the whole process went.  Not only do we have our gate now, but we have something that is truly unique and beautiful - really adding something to the backyard (and curb appeal) other than just the functionality (which is also top notch).  Highly recommended, and I will not hesitate to give him a call again for my next project!

Paul created custom metal awnings for the windows and doors on the exterior of our house. Not only is the work beautiful, but he's incredibly easy to work with and does an amazing job. Also he's quick! Within a week of having him come check out the house, we already have one of our projects finished!

Paul turned an old termite-eaten wood fence into a beautiful, artistic expression with our metal fence. He was great at communicating updates and was thorough with the job. We invited him back to create a decorative cover for our water softener.

Paul truly does beautiful work. Using only a couple references he was able to create exactly what we were looking for. His fabrication is top notch, but his patina and finish work created a true one of a kind product. He communicated clearly throughout the process, and actually listened to our responses. I contacted Full Spectrum Artworks through Yelp about our residential RV gate that was no longer in alignment. Paul responded almost immediately and offered me a couple of options after emailing him some pictures. We elected to go with a repair. When Paul arrived he offered a third option that was appropriate and was even more reasonably priced. He probably could have milked the job for three times what it ended up being if he had been so inclined. I felt that he was a straightforward kind of craftsman which I can greatly appreciate in this day and age. I communicated with other businesses that do this kind of work and they either didn't respond or weren't interested in the job because it was too small. My wife can now open the gate easily. Paul replaced three yard gates and an RV gate. My new gates are simple, functional and have a beautiful patina that will last! Paul gave me a very reasonable estimate. I had gotten estimates for composite gates but Paul was able to fabricate four new gates for a better price! He listened to my concerns and offered solutions to some of the issues I had with my old gates. All projects were completed in a timely manner, on site. Paul communicated well throughout the process, showed attention to detail, and cleaned up the area when finished. I would recommend him to anyone and will contact him for any future projects.

Did not end up going with this company, but I can say the owner was prompt. Even though I did not choose his service, he still took the time to tell me if other companies were overcharging me for the job requested.

Love my new front gate , decorative fence . Driving up to my place I'm thrilled at the new appearance.Now I need to paint to make the house look better for the fence. Paul made our vision come to life with his talented craftsmanship and experience! We were looking for a massive corrugated back fence with an 18' RV gate and Paul came through. Paul also replaced both of our side gates to match our new back fence. We had some special request with the way we wanted to complete the project and Paul was extremely open to working with our ideas. Paul and I collaborated on a 16' RV gate build, and he is clearly an experienced and resourceful welder, especially fabricating on-site in the field. Paul has the skill and experience to complete your project on time and on budget.

Called and Paul came out same day to assess our gate repair. He then came back the next day on a weekend to do the metal repair onsite (hard to find!). He was very fair and reasonably priced, even pointing out the other repairs our gate had received previously so we knew what to expect for the future. His craftsmanship top notch. After literally spending 4-5 months trying to find someone to build custom cabinet frames for the inside of my VW Bus, and having professional after professional waste my time and jerk me around for weeks on end, I called Paul. I had little hope after all my past attempts with these professionals. I sent him the measurements and was shocked to find he was more than willing to come to me and take his own measurements to make sure. I was pleasantly surprised to see his hippie/Buddhist appearance and demeanor, because to me, it meant decent morals. He came over and installed them and they are rock solid and actually noticeably stiffined the chassis of my tin can on wheels, 73 VW Bus. I'm truly happy to know I have someone like Paul to go to the next time. Sadly its rare to find professionals like Paul, I confidently recommend him to anyone I know needing ANYTHING to do with metal.

we had an amazing experience with this company, they were courteous, punctual, reasonably priced. we had to deal with overly priced no shows that were giving us all kinds of reasons to inflate the price. This company was honest and forth coming with right information and got the job done the very next day. We would definitely hire them again. in fact we have to get new gate for the backyard and we will gladly give them our business.

I reached out to Paul to repair an existing gate. I could barely get the gate to move. When he was done I can open the gate with no effort now. Paul came out and did a repair on my 110 year old cast iron printing press. I was nervous about it as an antique but he came out quickly, put my mind at ease, and did a great job. The weld should hold up well. I won't hesitate to call him if I have any other issues with the press. Thanks!

Paul brought his mobile welding service to our home for exterior gate door repair. He fabricated a new bottom railing to replace a badly rusted one. He replaced several rotted out boards and door hinges, replaced the latch, and then reinforced all remaining hardware. Very satisfied with the finished product and the quality of his work. Paul was prompt with communicating, arrived on time, and a very good craftsman. Highly recommend him.
