We specialize in custom, artistic finishes, such as Venetian and other fine, Italian plasters, rustic/distressed effects, faux wood garage doors, faux concrete, faux marble, granite, stone, suede and leather effects, oxidized metal finishes etc. If you have a vision, we can work our magic and bring it to life on your walls, furniture, fireplaces, columns, kitchen/bathroom cabinets....pretty much anywhere. We will work with you to create the perfect effects and colors for your home, and we always provide samples before we start the job.
HISTORY
Established in 2003.
Owned and operated by Annie, who has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Arizona State University and a background in faux finishes for luxury jet liner interiors. She has been creating faux finishes for various projects since graduating from college in 1999. The company is named after her first pet frog, Boo, who she called, The Frogstar. She raised him from a tiny tadpole! Frogstar Faux Finishing is licensed, bonded, and insured ROC #234715.
ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER
Graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.F.A from Arizona State University in 1999.
Began her career in faux finishing by creating faux marble, granite and stone finishes inside luxury jet liner interiors for a large company in Tucson, AZ.
Has a great eye for color and decorating.
Has a talent for matching any kind of stone, marble or wood finish, so it looks just like the real thing.
Is also very good at matching existing finishes and plasters when there is a repair that needs to be done.
Is inspired every day by the magical, loving circus that resides at her home; her husband, son and daughter (both toddlers!), rambunctious Cattle Dog and 7 noisy frogs. Best kind of chaos you could ask for! : )

I cannot say enough good things about Annie and Frogstar Faux Finishing!
I have been wanting to do a faux wood finish on my garage door for an eternity!! I had some structural water damage to a window ledge in the front of my house and needed to hire a carpenter to repair and rebuild. Because my house had not been painted in 5+ years, I decided to paint the entire house instead of just the new ledge.
When I met with the painter, I asked him if he did faux painting and he didn't. He quoted me less that I had budgeted for, so I asked him not to paint the garage door and started doing my research to find someone to do the paint treatment and PRAYED it was within my budget.
I came across Frogstar Faux Finishing and emailed Annie to get a quote. She was very responsive and gave me the basic information I needed to set up an appointment time.
She arrived on time to meet with me and we talked about what I was looking for and she gave me some suggestions and the estimate which was exactly the number I had had in mind.
I emailed her some photos of what I was hoping for and answered some of the questions she had for me and we booked the date.
Prior to the date, she stopped by with some samples which both were exactly what I had asked for.. one a few shades lighter than the other.
The first day was prepping and priming and the second day was finishing. She was so sweet and sent me photos along the way of her progress!
The finshed result could not be more perfect! It was EXACTLY what I asked for and has given my house so much character, charm, and curb appeal... Neighbors are stopping by to give us compliments all the time!
Annie has the greatest personality and is incredibly talented! I can't wait until I have money in my budget to do some distressed-look paint treatments to my kitchen cabinets... Annie will be the ONLY one I call!!!
We remodeled our kitchen and had two electrical outlets that spoiled the beauty of our counters. I contacted Annie to paint them to match my very intricately patterned granite and she did a fabulous job!
Annie is quite an artist and I would highly recommend her services!
I had this whole Indiana Jones weathered adventure map look I wanted for the bedroom but didn't know how to execute it. Annie helped me with examples and suggestions until I found exactly what I was looking for! It's a GREAT canvas to hang adventurey artifacts on. 10/10 would have paint rooms again
We just had Annie come out and refinish our garage door, and could not be happier. It looks AMAZING! We recently updated our house, and the garage door stood out as really orange and dated. After lots of research, we chose Annie based on great reviews and beautiful samples of her work. She and Liz did the work in 2 days, getting our input along the way, and the end result is better than we had imagined. It's a rich brown that hits all the right notes, and looks completely like real wood. She is truly an artist and also delightful to work with. We'll continue to recommend Frogstar to all our friends and neighbors!
Highly recommend Frogstar Faux Finishing! Annie is fabulous! She listened very carefully to what I wanted and the look I was hoping to get on my large entryway columns. Since I was not 100% sure she offered to do samples of a few looks so that we could discuss and I could make a decision. I could not be happier with the finished product! She and her assistant were excellent and made my columns look exactly like the marble ones you see in Italy. LOVE THEM! They are extremely talented artists.
Also, they have terrific, friendly, positive personalities so they are a joy to have around. A plus was that each day they cleaned up the area and they love dogs so I did not have to worry about putting up my dog each day.

We already loved our new house but Annie transformed our garage door into a thing of beauty. We went with the faux wood finish and it looks amazing. Our family, friends, and neighbors all compliment us and have asked for Annie's contact info. In addition, we had to change our schedule a couple of times due to construction delays. Annie was accommodating and juggled numerous other projects to keep us from waiting. We received samples to compare which finish we wanted and then on install day, Annie made a couple other suggestions. Our boring beige garage doors have been bothering us for years. We live in a beautiful neighborhood where the houses are being updated all around...so we decided to call FrogStar! Annie came out and did an absolutely beautiful job making our doors look like real wood. It completely updated the entire front of our home. Worth every penny! Thank you Annie. You are so talented!
