First Iron Repair

We had been looking for a company to repair the rusted out latch on our iron and wooden gate for a few weeks.  We looked around online and came upon First Iron Repair. Michael's reviews were impressive so we took a chance. We called and left a message on Saturday and he contacted us right away.

After sending him a couple of pictures of the latch, we agreed on a price and he came out. He and his team did an excellent job in fixing the latch and servicing the gate.  He did great work and finished quickly. We wI'll highly recommend First Iron Repair to our neighbors and friends.

Michael responded quickly to our request to replace our rotting backyard fence. He not only sent an estimate but promptly came to our home to explain every step that was needed in the removal, fabrication, which was done on our property, & installation.  His company is top notch as far as my husband & I are concerned.  He stuck to the schedule, did a fantastic job removing & cleaning up every day that he & his workers were here.  We Highly Recommend Michael to anyone who is seeking fence repairs or installations.  Honest, courteous & very detailed in his work.

I reached out to Michael to get a quote to fix a broken gate. He looked at the gate and explained how/why it was broken and the steps that would need to be done to repair the gate along with a price for the repair. I agreed to the work, and we set up a day for him to come out. He and his son came out and did a wonderful job repairing the gate. The final price ended up being a little less than the price we agreed on which I was happy about. Michael was very friendly and did excellent work. He went above and beyond and even adjusted the gate to get into the yard (not the one he was paid for) because it was difficult to open. I will absolutely use his services again!

Working with Micheal on my gate restoration was a pleasure. He was prompt to respond to my request. He and his son were on time to perform the job and easy to work with. They were helpful in picking out the stain and the quality of work was first notch. He provides a three-year guarantee on his work. Which is very unusual in day and age.

I needed my gate lifted and the boards replaced, so I called Michael and sent pictures of my situation to him. Within minutes he provided several quotes with our options, all which were reasonably priced compared to my expectations of the work involved to do it right. I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome what little effort from my end. The job took about 4 hours, he raised my gate, patched the old holes on the wall, cut and welded a new piece of metal that was rusted out, refinished the metal, replaced the wood and old screws with bolts. We have a full backyard fence that had a tree that rubbed up against it. The tree caused the mounting bolts in the concrete to pull out leaving a very wobbly fence... Mike came out gave a fair estimate, showed up on time, did the work quickly with no drama!

As my wife and I were nearing the end of our balcony remodel, there was just one thing left to complete it: a new railing. We were frustrated with the experience trying to find someone to do the work, as we were met with places that were inflexible on when they could work with us (my wife and I are both teachers and routinely encountered places that simply refused to send anyone out after 3 o'clock) or they didn't even offer to send anyone out and just wanted to give quotes over the phone without taking measurements or even asking us what we were looking for. The difference between everyone else and Michael at First Iron Repair was night and day. Not only did he work with us on our schedules but was insistent on coming out and taking measurements and surveying the balcony to find what would work best based on our balcony's construction and the tile we had. Because he put an emphasis on both, he discovered quickly that the saltillo tile we had meant that it would be better to mount the railing to the side of the balcony, instead of trying to drill into the tile to mount it. He also asked us what we wanted the railing to look like, instead of pushing a basic design on us because it would be easier or more at least more convenient for him.

When it came time to do the work, he laid out for me the exact time frame for the work from start to finish, and he was true to his word. Michael and his team had the frame for it up after the first day, the rails on it with the design we wanted done after the second day, and it completely painted after the third day. Before leaving on the last day, we went over the basic upkeep we would need to do to ensure that it lasted for years to come and even left me with a can of the specific paint we would need for occasional touch-ups. What really made Michael stand out to me, after all the hard work he and his team had done, was right before he left that day, he noticed a tiny spot on the underside of the frame that they had missed paining; a spot so small I would not have even noticed it had he not pointed it out to me. He went and retrieved his ladder, even though they had put everything up, climbed up, and painted the spot. Again, had he not pointed it out to me before doing so, I never would have noticed, but Michael noticed and because he clearly takes pride in the quality of his work, he was not leaving until he had painted it.

Amazing work done by a friendly and honest person who definitely prides himself on being timely and professional. We inquired about a quote, got a response and an assessment appointment set up same day. The appointment, which was the next day, was insightful with no salesmany pitches to upsell or gouge prices. We had rust issues, an improperly set gate from when the house was built - our front gate was literally rusted out of the ground- and the cement walls that hold our side gate shifted so close together we couldn't even open the gate anymore. We had our two gates fixed within a week and have had no issues (its been about two months). Everything looks brand new! Our neighbor, who has worked on construction sites for years, even commented on how good of a job First Iron Repair did and asked for contact info so he could reach out.

Michael was quick to respond to my inquiries. I had sent him pictures of my double gate to make sure it was the kind of work he could do and we set up a time for a physical inspection and a quote.

Michael arrived on time for the job and replaced the hinges and end plates of both sides of the gate. He made sure that the doors swung easily and that the latch securely closes.

Michael and Anthony arrived on time, were professional and efficient and did a fantastic jobs. My metal railings had rust and were in dire need of repair and paint.  My house backs onto a lake so the railings were in quite an awkward position.  I am beyond happy with the work.
