I just had my whole A/C replaced and wow what a pleasant experience. First of all no one wants to get this done and yes the expense is up there. These guys showed up early and got right to business. The owner even stopped by to make sure that things were on task. I have heard of these taking all day to install and these guys got it done in 3 hours. Cleaned everything up as if they were never there and explained what they were doing along the way. This is a big expense but as they left I was glad I chose Fountain Hills A/C. Great experience I will definitely be telling my friends. Thank You for easing my hesitation. I have had other companies come and they were pushy and I felt like I was buying a used car. These guys were easy going and great!

Completes 90% of work and will gladly charge more to complete the job.

During our HVAC inspection/service and altered tech to wiring concern on the roof. Thermostat wire from roof penetration to the unit was exposed, sun damaged and frayed, also assessed by tech requiring replacement as could short the system. Asked him to cover/protect wire (PVC pipe) but can only assume tech thought no one would look at the covered up wire. Not all wire on the roof was replaced, as we found old frayed wire by roof penetration upon review of work completed.

We alerted the company and tech came back out and said that is how they correct it as he can't replace all the roof wire as it would put a hole in the roof, although the wire comes through a hole in the roof. He talked to his supervisor and said he could splice the new wire in the attic, creating that hole in the roof he couldn't do before (he wouldn't be able to seal it), but that would cost another $300 approximately to not have any damaged wire exposed on the roof; already paid over $400 for the incomplete work. If you like a job almost but not quite done, then this is the HVAC company to call.

This is either the busiest business in Phoenix or the most incompetent.

They very quickly and efficiently came to diagnose an issue with a leak and recommended a remediation company.

They collected our 50% down payment on July 29 and removed our defective air handler and outside unit on Aug 4.  And now I am struggling to get them to schedule an install.

The customer service staff is very friendly but my opinion is that there is a massive communication problem within the company - every phone call requires a call back which, in my experience, never happens.

I believe I am a super friendly and reasonable person and i have called every day and have kindly asked them to give me any information about an install date. Nothing. Just a version of someone will get back to you shortly

I am prepared to cancel the installation but since they have $6000 on my credit card it's unclear whether I will get that back so at this point I'm being held hostage.

Beware.

I would NOT recommend this company!

Last week, my AC unit stopped working. Hot air was blowing and and the temperature in my house was quickly rising. It got to 91 at one point.

I called my AC company but they couldn't come out right way so I called another company.

I was hoping it was an easy fix.

I  called FH (Fountain Hills) Air Conditioning & Heating.
They were at my house within an hour and a half.
The tech check out my unit, took pictures then called his boss. They told me that I needed a new compressor, a new phase-shifter and new evap coils. The tech said the coils were rusting and leaking.
The cost to repair these items was $6000- $7000.
But, they recommended that I get a new unit with a warranty for $8500 - $10,500.
I told them that I wanted to get a second opinion.
They said that they can get my unit started, temporarily, so that I would have air until the new unit came.
$700 to get it going. I declined.
Again they said, we can't have you staying here without air conditioning.  We can install a new phase shifter for $199 to get you air for now.
I declined again.
Then the GM told the tech to write on my receipt that I declined. He wasn't too nice about it either.

My AC company came the next day and after a thorough diagnostic, found that I needed a new Fan motor and a new Capacitor.
My AC unit is 15 years old and still in great condition.
I have cold air again and paid an extremely reasonable price.

Worst company in the world. Had them install a new unit and they replaced it twice . Didn't apologize just made excuses about You know parts go bad sometimes They had to come out 10 times before they got it right , YES 10 times and have the receipts to prove it.  They came out for almost a year  before they got it right. Replaced 2 units. No refund no discount. They won't even come back to service the unit anymore , they   will not talk to me. So no warranty , No customer Service . Terrible.

Had FH come out for AC service and was told that coils were corodid and small leak but could not find it because it was in the back. Had them come out a month later said that I needed a new system for $6500. Came to replace AC unit and tech said the prior tech did not measure and there was no way to get the unit up in attic. After some research I got a 2nd opinion and was told by two different companies and told just need coils replaced which is still under warranty. Contacted FH and and asked why there was no communication regarding previous warranty and got the run around. Asked for a refund of my deposit and was given an option to have the unit replaced for $2700 and not $6500. 1. Why would I want it replaced if it doesn't need to be? 2. How can you offer me 50% off a unit?  Apparently this company is about making a profit rather than servicing their customers as all over websites list customer #1.

Spoke with Chad about refund and as this was $2,700 that they have for my deposit, I wanted the credit card used to be credited. He advised that I could not do that and a check needed to be mailed out. I did not want $2700 floating around in the mail and offered to come to wherever their office is and pick it up. Was suppose to get callback from Chad on Monday, no call. Called Tuesday morning and received callback Tuesday afternoon saying check would be mailed on 31st.

Long story short, don't trust your first pick and always get a 2nd opinion.  Hopefully knowone else gets screwed as I did so please look around.

Proceed with caution if you chose to use this company, they are unethical and use bad tactics to get what they want. My AC started blowing hot air and needed to be serviced. I do have a 13-year-old unit, that I know has a small leak (hence the need to have coolant added) and I do need to replace it soon. However, this is not the time I was planning on it and was hoping to get one more season out of it and I also told each company I know the unit is old.

When the tech showed up he went up to the roof for about 5-10 min. During that time my AC started blowing cold, but then warm again twice. When he came down I was expecting him to tell me the problem since I could feel the cold air while he was up there. He immediately pulled out his phone and proceeded to show me pictures of how bad my unit was (age, leak, etc.) along with how low my coolant was. To which I said, I know it has a slow leak, can you at least charge it for now so that I can get through this summer? You did something when you were up there and the cold air started blowing twice. To which he told me he has to call his supervisor on speaker.

Once the supervisor got on, the tech asked if he saw the pictures he sent him of my unit. He hadn't and started to review them with the tech on speakerphone. He repeated EVERYTHING the tech had already said, with extra emphasis on how bad my unit is. He said with leaks and the age of the unit I couldn't he also told me that the type of coolant that my AC takes isn't even available any longer so even if there weren't leaks there was nothing he could do. He then told me that he could get me into a new unit for only $120/month.

He proceeded to tell me about the unit, the benefits, and everything else he could think of. When I asked what $120/month equaled the quote was almost $9,800. I thanked him for his time and then informed him that I had two more companies coming out over the next two days and if I need him I will call again. He then jumped into comparison pricing and offered to come to sit shoulder-to-shoulder with me Thursday to compare offers because he won't be beat on price. I again said thank you, but if I determine I need you I will call. He gave one more attempt and he now remembered there was a unit in the warehouse that could be available for as low as $7K. I once again said thank you, if I need you I will call thank you for your time.

I had a different company come out the next day and told me the same thing, Your unit is old, and has leaks which is why you need coolant.  You could probably squeeze one more season out of this though. I can recharge it for you. It's expensive because you have an old unit so $60/lb. You will probably need 5 - 7 pounds. I agreed and he charged it. When he came back down to check he noticed it was still blowing warm and went back up to see if he missed something. Shortly after I felt the cold air coming out. When he came back in the house to check he said there was a piece of insulation that was blocking airflow preventing the cold air. Remember when I said the FH Technician did something and the cold air was blowing. The previous tech knew there was a piece of insulation blocking airflow and when removed cold air would blow again.

This company lied to me and it cost me $37 to hear it. I have requested a refund, and I am hoping to hear back from them soon.

I do not believe this company can be trusted. When it comes time to replace my unit the company I will be using the same company that charged me $360 to get my AC back up and running.

We had an emergency on Saturday night. AC unit caught on fire. I got a reply back in less than 10
Min. They sent a technician in less than two hours. He repaired all burnt wires and cost  was very reasonable! I totally recommend FH Air Conditioning, and will definitely use them again in the future.

Got one of those postcards in the mail and the repairman  right off the back said both of my air-conditioners were old and bad and needed to be replaced.
The air coming out of the vent was at 78 degrees according to an instrument.
Called another company and was told the exact opposite.
Ended up paying $75 for a relay switch and the cost of three pounds of Freon.
The Freon was a mere $75 a pound, and I was quoted $250 a pound. Quite a difference!
How can a small town company not even take the time to see that the relay switch was bad?
That is why the temperature was coming out at 78 degrees.
I am making a complaint to the Better Business Bureau to see what the company says to me.
I have to fine running air-conditioners and it's almost 100 degrees out.

Wish I had seen some of the prior reviews earlier.....
Received a call to have my AC inspected/serviced and agreed.  When the representative  showed up he quickly looked at my system in the attic and then came down and showed me the photos he said he took showing how corroded the coils were and that the blower was leaking oil which if not repaired immediately would require a whole system failure. He then got his supervisor on the phone to tell me I needed to replace the air handler and blower and it would cost $5400.  He was quite pushy on asking for an immediate decision, which I refused without getting another opinion.
I also asked for a copy of the photos and the proposal be emailed to me so I could review.  That never happened.
Yesterday I had another recommended and experienced AC technician check and it appears there is nothing wrong with my system at all.  In fact, after this technician had me come up to the attic to look, the photos the FH Air technician showed me do not appear to have been from my system at all!!
Very disappointing for a local company to stoop to this level to sell services.  Beware....

Worst experience I've had with any home service company in my over 18 years of home ownership. First, a tech came to my home and stated that unfortunately he didn't have the necessary parts to repair my AC but promised someone would be out the following morning to get us squared away. The following day, another tech arrived as promised but stated he could only do half of the job and it would be a bit before anyone could get back to finish the job. When I questioned this stating it was not the promise that was made by his colleague the prior night he stated, those sales techs will say anything to close the deal.  The tech left and stared someone would call to schedule the completion of the job. Over a week passed and still no call so I started calling, it took over another week to get someone to my home. They were loud and crude throughout the job and left my home in disrepair. I will now have to hire someone else to come and repair the damage they did to the framing around my crawl space. Not to mention the $10k plus I've already paid for the repair and the two plus weeks of elevated electric bills thanks to their half fix. These people are a joke. Just steer clear.

I used to have a contract with this company, but today they charged me $279.00 to install a capacitor  on a 2 ton air conditioner  they installed in 2106 that was under warranty.  Their list price is $125 for labor, so they just doubled !!! So much for honesty!  I would not do business with this company again.

I would not recommend this company. We had a leak at our rental house. Chad came out and said there was no way to get to the unit in the attic and they needed a hole cut out. My husband, 53 years old goes over to check, because how can you have an ac unit that you can't get to, and he got up. When we told them this they wouldn't even let another service man to come out and look. Call a company that wants to do businesses
We called the Cool guys and had it fixed within 2 hours after they refused. They did not have to cut a whole, and it was so much cheaper.

What a rip off! Got sucked into phone solicitation for $39.00 service on my air conditioning unit. All the repair person did was try to up sell me on services that I did not need!  Was charged 159.00 per unit for cleaning with a solution that smelled like CLR or Lime Away.  When I stated that to the repair person, his response was oh no this is much stronger then
that, and the public can't purchase it  I really should have read all the reviews before I ever let them step 1 foot on my property.  DON'T USE THEM!!!

My AC was not running well. The air was not cold and did not blow very hard. I noticed that the fan on the outside portion of the unit was barley turning when it attempted to turn on. the tech looked at the unit and diagnosed that the started was bad. Took about 15 min to put the new starter on and he quoted me $750. When he finished he said he would cut me a break and lower this time to $365.

I watched the repair, it looked pretty simple... He detached three wires from one starter and attached them to the new one. After he left, I looked up the price of a starter, was between $30 - $50. I am upset at the tactic of quoting me over $700 just so I would not be mad about his actual inflated price of $365. I have since had the job quoted by other AC repairmen in my area, the result was over $100 cheaper..

Sales tactics like this are what used car salesmen do to sell a lemon. Come on...

I called them out for my heatpump that was inop. This young guy comes out connects his gages and says my unit is out on low pressure and that
I have a refrigerant leak and he says he can hear it. He then says he can
set up another call for leak testing which cost much more money. So he
charged me $49.95 a service call for nothing. So I called another company for a second opinion the second company came the young man went thru all the proper diagnostics located the problem a fixed it cost $49.95  service call, no leaks no parts! I personally observed both technicians. One was properly trained the other was lost in space. I will never use this company again, I paid for service I got nothing my final rating is 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000.

When I was called and offered the opportunity to have Fountain Hills service my air/heat pump,  I almost declined because they told me they were taking over from the last company that had serviced my system and tried to sell me what I didn't need...I hate that!
I'm so glad I gave them a chance. I was so impressed with specialist Dan Santoro, he was friendly, professional and reassuring. He showed me what issues needed attention, explained why it needed to be done without any sales pressure; completed the work quickly and even cleaned up after (I have never had an A/C technician do that!). I'm so happy that they will be caring for my system for the next 3 years -it's a relief to find a quality company with integrity and knowledgeable staff!

After dealing with this company for about 4/5 years I put a lot of thought into my review.
They abused me from day one. They overcharged me more than once. They lied and told me many parts were bad and that I needed to replace them day after day of supposedly fixing things. They convinced me to go ahead and buy their club package. I did so. It was just a way for them to come out and make it seem like I needed more products. Upselling constantly. The poor techs. They aren't in sales. They are techs. Yet told to sell and upsell.  Nonsense.
I've now not got a maintenance package and this is after years. I feel ok now. I'm happy to move on and hopefully find a better company to deal with.

Thanks.

If there was a no star, they would have earned it.  The call started with them promising me a call within 30 minutes of arrival.  I had asked for that due to an appointment.  Lo and behold, my wife calls me and states that they have looked at the thermostat that my son had put in for me and it was not functioning, the real reason for my call to have them come out.  She tells me that they had to call a supervisor in and they found that the furnace igniter was bad and needed to be replaced and that the thermostat was the wrong one.  Fortunately we rent so she told them that she would have to contact the landlord.  For this she paid them $225.  When the landlord sent a AC gentleman, I was home and within 20 minutes told us that there was no issue with the igniter and he fixed the mistakes (incorrect wiring by Fountain Hills Air) that they had made while assuming that it was the wrong thermostat.  The cost to repair what they assumed was the wrong thermostat was $150.
My phone call the following morning was going well as I was passed to the operations manager.  He then told me that they never said the igniter was bad.  I asked him if my wife was a liar.  He insisted that they never stated that the igniter needed to be replaced.  At that point I told him that the choice was to not dispute the charge that I had put a dispute in and also that I wanted the $150 to fix what they had done to the thermostat. When he said no, I told him that I would report him to the BBB and that I would also write a letter to the FH Times.  He did not care so I hung up.
To me this was a typical bait and switch.  I have since learned that this is a common practice from this company  Do NOT use them.

A phone salesman called me and offered a safety check, and I took them up on it.  The technician arrived and proceeded to do the check.  I was told there was a leak, that R-22 was illegal starting next year and all systems using it would need to be replaced, and that I needed two new air exchange units.  Timothy, the technician, got his supervisor, Chad, on the phone and Chad proceeded to try to sell me the two units saying I had just hours of life left on this system.  I told them I wanted to consider for a day and the super high pressure continued.  At that point I did cave to the pressure but then changed my mind again and told them I did not qualify for the financing.  Timothy packed up and left and shortly after I noticed that the AC upstairs was not working.  I scheduled a second opinion with Parker & Sons, (you'll find my highly favorable review on their page) but sadly he could not get to us for a few days.  So we went several days with no AC upstairs only to discover when Richard from P&S came out that Timothy had disconnected the wires to make the system not work.  Richard reconnected everything and the AC worked fine.  He did all system tests and determined that the things I had been told by this unscrupulous company were not true.  R-22 is being phased out next year and it will get more expensive to replace as supplies go down and no new is made, but systems using it do not HAVE to be replaced.  If the system does have a  leak, it is so small that the pressure from last year to this year is virtually the same.  And, finally, I was told I had just hours of life left in my system, with the second opinion stating I had years left.  Whatever name this unscrupulous company is going by, Fountain Hills Air Conditioning, or FH, save yourself and call somebody else.

I have never used this company. I have been receiving phone calls from them for 3-4 years, from different numbers, soliciting business that I do not want nor need from them. Absolutely pathetic that a company would harass people for years at a time with unwanted solicitations. A legitimate company would NOT do this.

After calling one of the companies that advertised 24 hour service, and not receiving a call back from the technician (it has & Sons in the name), I called Fountain Hills Air Conditioning and Heating at 10:00 pm on a Monday night. A live woman, who was very polite and seemed concerned about my predicament, told me someone would be at my home the next morning at 10. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised to meet Chad at 8:00 a.m. He diagnosed the problem within 15 minutes and we went over options. I felt fully informed and he did not up-sell me even though he had the opportunity. A crew led by Omar showed up bright and early the next morning. They were courteous, competent, and knowledgeable. The new unit including handler was replaced within three hours. This company exceeded my expectations. The experience also taught me to be wary of these companies that advertise 24 hour service. When that other company called back, Chad from Fountain Hills AC was already at my front door. What fantastic service!

The prior owner of our house used Fountain Hills A/C & Heating and had a club membership. Fountain Hills called to schedule a FREE inspection. the FREE inspection ended up costing me $462. They replaced a capacitor in the unit for $296 and cleaned the coil for $165.

The capacitor can be purchased at Home Depot for $15. If they marked up the part 100% to $30 the labor charge for 1/2 hour work was $532/hour.

Cleaning the coil cost me $165. Walmart sells the condenser cleaner for $15. Allowing them 100% markup, their labor charge was $270/hour giving them a half-hour labor.

The maintenance guy (salesman) also checked my evaporator coil (copper) for leaks. He found no leaks but tried to get me to switch to a more modern aluminum coil for who know what cost. The only reason newer coils are aluminum is due to the cost of copper. Copper is much more efficient in transferring heat than aluminum. He pointed out the soldered connections trying to convince me it was corrosion.

I felt pressured to make a quick decision regarding the work. I wanted to check online prices but he said he couldn't wait for that. Now that I did check A/C part prices, my opinion is that they charge confiscatory rates and I will find another company for any future work.

If this rating were zero or less, I'd be glad to use the negative star. Before the business was sold about 2006, the company was good and reputable. After that, not so much. 2014 - Had west side ac and heat exchange replaced because of carelessness  in their maintenance and the unit became rusted and damaged. Had to have new thermostat as well, and discovered on a cold winter's day that it was hooked up incorrectly. Only the ac worked, no heat on 30 degree nightsfor a week. 2nd units on east side went so were replaced 4/2016. The west side thermostat was also replaced a second time and incorrectly hooke d up again. So back for correction. Ditto the east side thermometer - hooked up with ac and heat connections reversed. Of course every time FH techs came, they continued with their upsell techniques. The units on both sides of the house were pronounced in perfect order in November, 2018. April, 2019, the reverse valve on the condenser went and their was no Freon as well as a damaged valve. Rheem would replace the part under warranty after 2 yr and 51 weeks of use but the rest was on me. Tech said Rheem was no good even though FH SOLD ME ALL THE UNITS. because I am such a good customer, FH would replace the valve and do labor, etc., for $1,370 instead of $1,750. What a deal. I did ask for a line item invoice and said I would think about it. One of the more interesting items was the huge charge to drain the Freon, even though the tech said the system had no Freon. The tech wanted a check and 50% non refundable deposit. No thanks. Oh, they could replace the entire condenser for only $5,000. No more. I will never do business with them again and will tell anyone who asks me the truth of their operation. My east side condenser was replaced for much less by an honest man and his heating and ac company. They techs also sealed leaks from the heat exchange unit to the vent system. No wonder my ac bills were so high the last few years. The vents had not been sealed in that area from 4/16 until last week in 4/19. Stay away from Fountain Hills Air.

Everyone is very nice including the repair man.  I was charged $704.36 for a condenser motor and capacitor.  I looked up the motor they installed and retail was $85 and the capacitor was $16.  The repair took an hour.  I always try and support Fountain Hills businesses but this really feels excessive and I will not be using them again.

FOUNTAIN HILLS AIR CONDITIONING & HEATING is the worse rip-off company out there that is taking advantage of the public during these trying times.  They performed work at my tenant's house for about $350 that cost less than $100.00 anywhere else.  They charged me $88.00 for a part that cost about $15.00.  They charged me over $100.00 to rewire about 2-3 feet of wire, which took less than 15 minutes.  Their labor charge was about $250.00 for about 30 minutes, which is absurd!  To make matters worse, the A/C unit that was repaired is less than 3 years old and is still under warranty.  They took advantage of my tenant who clearly did not understand what was going on and in need of help.  They did this despite being on notice the A/C unit was still new and under warranty and that my tenant was not the owner of the house or A/C unit.  Stay very far away from FOUNTAIN HILLS AIR CONDITIONING & HEATING as they are dishonest and charge exorbitant rates!

If I could give them a 0 I would. Worst - worst - worst. I wish I would have read the reviews before hiring them. They have a poor rating for a reason. They kept trying to sell me their service plan. They over-charged me (over $600!), did un-necessary work and didn't fix the problem. The repair tech told me we needed to replace the AC motor and that it would cost $3,000! And it didn't need to be replaced. I know this because I had 2 other AC specialists come out, and they let me know what the real issue was. And the AC in my house went out completely 3 days after FH serviced it. Run far away from this company - it's a scam. And I feel they took advantage of an old women.

STAY AWAY!!!
USELESS MAINTENANCE PLAN!

How can I make you smile? is how they answer the phone, but be sure that in the end you will have a frowny face!

I signed up for a maintenance plan, and the first time they came the technician said that they could re-tune the entire house with duct work, zoning so the entire house would be comfortable all year. I accepted it and after many delays and reschedules they finally finished the work and my problems started.
The system was not working as it was supposed to, and they would send different technicians that would discredit the work and solution offered by the previous technicians, which in my opinion is not only unprofessional but also makes me question the seriousness of the company.

This month we turned back on the air-conditioning and it was not working. I called them and the diagnosis was that something in the furnace was not working, and it would cost $864 to fix it. I asked what was the part that was broken, and they would not give any specifics. From what I could tell that they would replace was the furnace mainboard that prices started at $54 on the Internet, and the technician did not take 2 full hours to complete the entire work. I complained about their pricing even with the owner John, but there was just not a reasonable explanation for such a VERY SHADY PRICING!

A/C went out.  Called Fountain Hills Air Conditioning.  When I called I was told that they had all parts in stock and could fix my A/C the following day (it was late in the day when I called).  They came out that evening but couldn't find the trouble using the $49.95 trouble call so I had to spend another $139 for advanced diagnostics.  The compressor needed to be replaced, someone would get back to me the following day with a price and installation time.  Luckily I called another reputable contractor who replaced the compressor a day later because F H Air Conditioning & Heating was apparently happy enough with the $188.95 I spent because they NEVER called me back with any information about replacing the compressor.  What a rip off!

Charged us $286 to replace a $20 part (capacitor) and it took less than 20 minutes to diagnose and replace.  WOW!!

I should have called around since anything over 150 is a ripoff for a capacitor replacement.

Please don't make the same mistake I did.

My mind is clear. I only want the technician Bill Smart to service my home. He was very thorough in doing his check up of my system, and gave me clear concise instructions that made great sense! Perfect example of customer service.

I have used Fountain Hills AC & Heating for the past few years for preventative maintenance. However, I am extremely disappointed that the company did not find or notify me that our evaporator coils had extreme rusting and deterioration. The coils have been rotting for quite a long time. The house is only 5 years old as is the AC unit. Once my system failed I found another local company who could come out right away to get my AC running again. This is when I was notified of the issue and was explained that had the preventative maintenance been done properly, this could have been rectified prior to the failure. I could have saved money and the time my AC was down had Fountain Hills properly completed their inspections. I have requested a partial coverage or refund of their services and was told no. I would not recommend  Fountain Hills AC & Heating!

Mixed bag. I cannot complain about the quality of the work or friendliness. We bought a service contract and then had a new system installed. One year later we sold our home and the inspection came back with two items: missing insulation on a refrigerant line and missing insulation on top of our attic access door. Not a big deal but when Bill showed up he insisted that he had to charge us for one of the items. The door insulation was laying in the attic because they had never placed it back over the door and he did that for free. Charged us for the missing insulation around the line even though they are the ones who left it off. Gave me a song and dance about how he had to charge us if he verified the fix. Well, I was not born yesterday. Be very careful about their service contract, just an excuse to come back and charge you for something.

I have used Fountain Hills AC for a few years now and they always provide superior service. We just moved to a new home and had the obligatory check up and minor repairs needed. Bill Smart was on time, professional and did great work with out selling me things I dis not need. It is good to know that good service is not dependent on the tech sent out but is the company culture. We will be long term customers.

It is unfortunate I cannot give them negative stars!

Fountain Hills Air Conditioning and Heating in Fountain Hills is patently dishonest. I originally contracted with them in January of 2015 to be covered through 01-28-18 for $465. I thought I was getting a good price but know they are the worst AC company I have ever found. After I had signed the contract, I was advised to check on them through BBB, which I did and was horrified to learn of all the complaints. As I had already signed the contract and did not investigate them until several months later, know that I had made a very bad decision. To add insult to injury, when they showed up in July 2016 to inspect my unit, I was told that the coils were leaking and that the compressor failed on the meter check. I was told that it would be a couple thousand dollars to repair but that they would recommend replacement at a cost in excess of $5,000. I would state here that the unit is Carrier, installed by me on 05-23-2012 with a ten-year warranty that will expire on 05-24-2017. I was very distraught and called another company to check the unit. Ready Air checked the unit and told me that the coils were not leaking and that the compressor was operating at 100%. Jeremy further advised that NOTHING needed replacement! I called Fountain Hills AC and asked for a refund on the balance of the service contract not used only to be told that they would not refund the balance stating that they would then have to charge full price for all the service done since 01-28-15 (including 1/28/15 that would be 4 service calls). This company has taken advantage of me and I hope that my posting will prevent other people from allowing them to steal from you. I seriously question whether the parts they replaced were failing; I am 77 years of age could not climb on my roof!

If I could rate zero stars I would. I called this company for an estimate and a second opinion to do some work on my a/c. They said they would call me back to confirm a time, but never did. I had to call them back and they said they would send someone out within an hour, which tgey did. But the tech that came out said he did not have his own tool bag, so he couldn't do much. Instead, he said his boss would come out the next morning, but he never showed. I called again to find out if he was coming and was told I would get a call back...which of course I never did. I understand this is a busy time of year for a/c companies, but this kind of customer service is not something I'm willing to accept.  I will never call this company again.

Very High pressure sales from the technicians who clearly make commission on selling you repairs you do not need. Even if you get on one of their maintenance plans they will find things that aren't covered to charge you for every single time they come out.  I have never had them come to the house and not recommend a multi hundred dollar repair and they installed the brand new system just a few years ago and replaced all the duct work at that time.  Run away Run far far away from this company.  I still have a few years on my maintenance plan and I am not even going to use them for the free services that come with that.

I have been using Fountain Hills Air for many years and have always found them to be friendly, and professional.  Yes they do recommend additional services, but I have found that a polite no is all that is needed, if it is something that I really don't want/need.  I have used them for basic servicing as well as repairs and they are always on time and perform as expected.

I have a service plan with Fountain Hills.  I replaced my whole unit about a year ago with them.  When Bill came out today for the semi-annual checkup, he sat down and looked at my service records and explained everything and checked out my system.  He was very pleasant and informative.

We are currently renting and Bill Smart visited our condo for a scheduled service date. He was very knowledgeable and explained to us how to maximize the air conditioning for our use but also how to keep it maintained for the owners. We appreciated his time and looking out for us (renters) and long term for the owner.

I called to have our home serviced after receiving a postcard in the mail.  The man came and was very nice but tried to upsell me the entire time.  Then, I asked if he was cleaning the coils or just inspecting and the cleaning was an additional $600!  I took a day off work for nothing.

I called with issue after being jacked around with home warranty and seriously this company came out to my house in 15 minutes and told me nothing was wrong with my a/c but faulty thermostat and actually fixed some faulty wiring that could have been a fire.  He installed a new thermostat quickly and I had cold air blowing in no time!   I just came home from hospital and was desperate!   These folks are awesome and honest!   My ac units are old as we just bought house last year and still working and I am quite sure they could have said replace this or that and we would have never known any different but they didn't!  Thank you for great honesty and quality service!   Btw,   When I called other company to cancel home warranty guy, he asked what they did and how much  did they charge and actually said we got really great deal.  Thank you again!   Both my husband and I are in home lending and will spread the word!   :-). Tech Brian L !!!  Thank u!

RUN AWAY. Worst customer service imaginable!  I have been rescheduled so many times they tried to give me free service! They didn't even make it to my house for THAT appointment.  Don't understand how these guys can still be in business! Please save yourself the aggravation and find someone else. Unless you enjoy taking days off of work to have no one show up!

What a bogus promotion this company advertised recently! It was supposed to be an air conditioning system tune-up. It was not - none of the supposed checklist items were addressed with me. The technicians appeared to be looking at everything but it wasn't until the one of them showed me a photograph of how bad the inside of my air handling unit looked that I became suspicious. Then they showed my the compressor located outside the house and how bad that looked as well. According to them, both units had to be cleaned. Then it came time for the bottom line. I could not believe the prices plus a huge push to get me to join their Club that included a twice per year inspection. Oh and they would discount their recommended cleaning if I joined. I said no and paid for the visit.
I decided to get a second opinion. Thank goodness I did. The photo the FH A/C tech showed me was NOT the inside of MY unit! It was someone else's he passed off as mine. The second company showed me the actual inside of the air handler and did not recommend cleaning it. According to the second company, the compressor outside could only be cleaned properly by raising it out of its location to get all the coils that surround it. Conversely, FH A/C said they could clean all these coils from the front where you unscrew the door. I should report them to the Better Business Bureau for such deceiving behavior. Caveat emptor!

Absolutely horrible!  These guys came out, sold me on their care package for 5 years. Their second time out, sell my wife on almost $700 for 4 (four) filters!  I called and said I was not ok with that the second I saw the bill. They agreed to bring me out a second set of these superior filters, which I found online for $35 each. I explained to their supervisor Chad that this was an outrageous charge and was still not ok with it. didn't get much give. Then was told I had a leaky coil and needed a new air handler. $4200 was the estimate.  I had a second company come out, and was told I absolutely did not have a leaky coil, but instead just needed a new expansion valve. He got me fixed up for $1600.  I talked to the supervisor Chad and explained the issue, and he wasn't much help. They hosed me for close to $1600 for the filters and 5 year care plan. They will not be coming back to my house. I wouldn't recommend they go to yours...

Competent tech, got the unit running, good response, very expensive. Charges $80 per pound for R-22 freon when the current contractor purchase price is $11 per pound. If gas stations charged the same mark up, gas would be $24 per gallon. Suggest getting other quotes Fountain Hills.

DO NOT USE THIS FIRM! They have a F rating from the Better Business Bureau with 17 complaints. They are no longer members of the BBB. The firm had a good reputation until the management changed in 2006. The new owners employ high pressure, deceitful business practices and if anything goes wrong, they try to deny any responsibility. We had a AC system installed this April and it leaked twice causing a great deal of damage. The quality of the crews varies from sheer incompetence to good. The owners claimed that it was not their fault that the drainage lines leaked - even though their people installed them. We had two of their own people out twice to fix the leaks and they admitted that the original installers were at fault. When we threaten to take them to court, one of the owners said they would pay for the water damage, but never sent the check. That was over a month ago. The case is now awaiting a hearing in court.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with!!!  My mom purchased a new AC unit 2 years ago from them and they installed it.  Since then, she has paid over $2,500 in parts and labor for this unit due to their faulty workmanship.  They continue to tell her parts were not covered under warranty and keep charging her labor for everything that has gone wrong.  They have been out to her house 7 times in 2 years.  Clearly this unit is a lemon or their workmanship was so bad, it has continually failed.  I spoke with the owner John Hardin with the hopes that he would step up to the plate and make this right. He did not!!!  What kind of business owner takes advantage of an elderly women in a retirement community???  In my opinion it takes the lowest of the low to operate this way.  We had to call another reputable AC company to come out and fix the problem. The new AC company even knew we were getting screwed over and offered to do the labor for FREE if he would just provide the parts and he wouldn't even do that.  There are some very hard working honest contractors in this country, but sadly companies like this give them a bad name.  I hope you can sleep well tonight John Hardin.  Special thanks to Baseline Mechanical for stepping up and doing the right thing when this company failed to do it.
