I can't speak to the experiences of the previous two reviewers, but I had an very good experience with Arico for both AC and Plumbing.
In one week, my 20 year old water heater started leaking and the compressor on my 8 year old ac unit died. I only moved into my house a little over a year ago, and was looking forward to having a dual cooling home, but it never panned out. When we got in the house, the neither the AC nor the evap was needed to be on and we only tested that they both worked. But as it turned out that despite the AC working, the vent that is supposed to close at the evap connection got stuck open somehow, and so the AC unit never was able to cool 3/4 of my house. The first summer here was pretty rough, and the electric bill was astounding.
Needing entirely new units, Arico was fantastic on their professionalism, willingness to problem-solve, and pricing. It was a pleasure working with them, and their workers were diligent, kind, and applied themselves.
That is not to say there were not a few small hiccups in the process, however, that I do not really blame Arico for. First, apparently the gas line to my house is really stupid, because it has an on position and an off position. The water heater was installed a day before the AC unit, and when the the guy who installed the water heater left, everything was working. But they had to turn the line off again to hook it to the AC's heating element. That tech turned the unit to on when he left, but apparently at my house, off means off, and on means off...but the area between off and on is where the gas is actually on. The water heater stopped working, and I couldnt figure out why I couldnt re-light the pilot. A tech had to come out and help.
Also, the AC unit, once installed, worked beautifully and for the first time I had cold air flowing through my entire home...until some point in the middle of the night when the unit shut off. I was able to reset the unit, and it would cool the house again, but for some reason every night, the thing would stop working and cease to follow the set program. A week and several tech home visits later, I think both the tech and myself were unbelievably frustrated with this. After running an extremely in-depth diagnostics and speaking to the manufacturer, it was discovered that the unit model had this problem regularly and it was caused by a malfunctioning, however erroneous, safeguard switch. The company recommended wiring around the faulty switch, which the tech did, and my unit has been working flawlessly ever since.
So was the entire process completely painless? No, but I can't really blame Arico for the hang-ups that did occur. And thankfully, they were quick to resolve the issues. Having these two major appliances go out at the same time was not cheap to repair, but I did quite a lot of research on my own and Arico did very well by me on the pricing. Also, I want to give a shout out especially to Kenny the plumber, who was particularly good at his job. I would definitely use this company again in the future.
