Really good overall experience. AMS probably the cheapest option, but their quality was great and Brian's willingness to help me understand everything was amazing.

Had them do a somewhat intensive irrigation repair and lawn leveling job. We had some miscommunication on whether full yard seeding was involved in the quote, but Brian was willing to work with me on price in return. He could have said too bad, but made a point to make sure we were satisfied.

AMS is the worst landscaping business we've ever had. Leaves  & weeds were left in the yard after the service. The hedges were poorly trimmed. Two bushes were damaged as a result of poor trimming.

I asked AMS to schedule a do over service. They scheduled the do-over and when they showed up to correct what had not been done or had been done poorly, I talked with Pedro about the areas that we were concerned about. After a brief conversation with Pedro, he said I was disrespectful and left.

The yard is a mess.

This service attempted to charge us more than double their quote to remove weeds and trim one tree at our house less than a week before we are renting it. They had ample evidence and descriptions of the project by way of numerous photos and written tasks to base their quote, but still tried to pull a bait-and-switch when they arrived at the house. Despite our desperation to have the work done, charging more than double a quote supported by ample evidence is not a reasonable variation of pricing according to their terms nor the law, so we will not be using this service now nor in the future.

I used AMS 10 years ago and they were bad then.  I thought maybe they'd gotten better since they were still in business and I I gave them another shot.  They're still bad.  All they do is blow leaves against the back fence.  If anything more than running a leaf blower is required they don't do it.  They'd charge me $150 to do my yard and when they did not do the work they'd offer a $50 discount.  So I'd still pay $100 for nothing to get done.  I spent $700 replanting everything that died during the couple months that I used them.

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! Winter reseeding is so simple, yet they managed to make it a nightmare. The crew mistakenly set up my drip system to run 5 times a day for a week, along with the sprinkler system and now my drip system won't stop dripping water. I will likely lose some of my plants.

When I realized the issue I reached out to them and they sent a crew to take a look and they confirmed that they mistakenly set up my Zone 1 (drip) along with the rest of my sprinklers and that now a Valve was not functioning correctly.

I followed up for weeks and was passed on from one person to the next. Finally heard from a manager who was so rude! They don't care about customer service and do nothing to make it right. I will make sure to let everyone know never to use AMS Landscaping.

I've used them for years. However, they are not good now.

I called two weeks before last scheduled appointment. They sent a quote. But, scheduled two weeks later. (Ofcourse weeds are gonna grow while you wait). They came to a house, decided it was too much work by one hour. They decided not to do any work, and rescheduled for one week later while raising the price from 350 to 500. I did not complain at this point as their initial quote is just an estimate.  I noted some concern, that they should have atleast started the job, or considered that weeds grow when it rains. But, I was willing to let it slide.

A week later, during rescheduled appearance. Kyle came to my house and said the gate was locked. (It was NOT LOCKED, though I was not 100% certain at the time) I was at work at a meeting, they couldn't wait 10 minutes to talk to me on they phone (even though they also had the whole front yard to do as well). They forced a reschedule again. I am pissed at this point as I need my yard cleaned up before it gets worse. This was their second chance so I left the first version of the review at this point.

Their office then said they would come back and fix it by the end of the day. I took off work to ensure gate was open (And it was the whole time). Then, after saying they would fix it, they recscinded their offer and that they weren't going to come and clean up my yard because of the negative review I had written (I had already given them 2 chances, and I would have retracted it if they made it right), and because I made their employee feel uncomfortable. (I did not call him anything derogatory). It was on the phone and it was one sentence paraphrased below with curse words not in shown.

Bugger off, this is bloody ridiculous After they cancelled working on my yard twice due to their own incompetence. I then hung up, because in my opinion their worker was just trying to be lazy. I then sent an email to their management which obviously did not help as we are here.

My husband and I were using these guys for years but they just lost us as customers. Scheduling and getting yard clean ups has never been a problem (but more on that later), however, scheduling pre-emergent has been challenging to say the least. There has not been a single time where we haven't had to follow up with them to get a date as to when we can expect pre-emergent to be applied since it isn't done the same day as clean up. This most recent time was a whole different story.

We contacted AMS on Nov 30th for yard clean up and pre-emergent. On December 3rd, they completed the clean-up but we still had no date for the pre-emergent. Over the next THREE WEEKS we sent countless emails requesting a date when we could expect the pre-emergent to be done and each time the response was our email being forwarded to Brian, the guy who handles pre-emergent. During this time a second new account was created two times requesting a credit card to be provided despite us being customers for years. Finally three weeks later we received an email saying they forgot that Brian was on vacation. Oddly enough Brian called the very next day saying he would be coming out... this after we told them numerous times that we are done with them and anything on the books was to be cancelled. Stringing us along for three weeks was just too much.

As for the quality of their work... they have a guarantee with their pre-emergent. You'll likely be calling them back again as it has been hit or miss. Yard clean up is also hit or miss. Sometimes they'll be in your yard for 30-45 minutes or sometimes 2 hours like they were this last month (despite charging the same amount). And if you're lucky, they'll leave a pile in the corner of your yard for you to clean up once they're done and an entire side section of your yard untouched.

Kim is definitely the RUDEST customer service person I have had to deal with in a long time. When I did finally get her on the phone she kept interrupting, speaking over me, and hung up to have the last word. We asked to adjust our irrigation and they pulled out things they should not have and our trees are suffering because of it. They crews are decent for the most part except them turning off all water and saying the trees wouldn't be effected, obviously they didn't know what they were doing. But Kim is the icing on a cardboard cake...I cannot believe that she is in charge of customer service. Too many landscaping services in Phoenix to choose from, take your money elsewhere!!!

I had called for a leak in my drip system. They were out within a week to assess. Received the quote and work done a week later. Drip system fixed, new decorative rock placed and 3 new plants. Nice to work with.

If you want your yard done right the first time, or the second time USE SOMEONE ELSE.

Browsed through Yelp for lawn care companies and came across AMS Landscaping. Their process was pretty simple, you get a thorough quote but don't expect everything you got quoted to be done the first time around. Everything is online and you have to have a debit or credit card on file.

I had scheduled for lawn service that consisted of things such as mowing and edging, trimming of plants/bushes, and of course the property was to be blown to remove debris.

SO WHAT HAD HAPPENED WAS, the lawn was mowed but it was in every other direction and shape and size! It was not a clean even cut!? Edging was so messed up I think they did it with their eyes closed. And with the blowing away of the debris, oh yeah all the debris from the front yard was blown into my backyard so guess who had to clean up that mess? I DID!!!

I contacted them back via email several times because they never pick up the phone and the lady replied to me back via email and says she will have someone come back and 'fix it', well of course you can't fix everything that's been broken right.

So, two young guys come to the house to try to 'fix' the damage. They were gonna start on the yard as soon as they got there but I went out there to tell them what I disliked and what wasn't done right. One of them snickered and I already knew this was gonna be another unprofessional job. I just went back inside. They mowed the yard and left. Again; no trimming was done and I was still the one to clean up the mess that was left in the back yard.

In conclusion, I paid them for a shitty job.

Update: I was contacted by the office and they were eager to make it right. I was given a couple of options to rectify the situation. I chose a refund. I do appreciate their willingness to fix things.

I had high hopes about this business after reviewing the photos of yard clean ups. Unfortunately, I feel I wasted my money as I've done the same level of work myself using my own weedwacker and store bought weed killer.

The first time I used them was on March 17th. The quote process and scheduling is pretty easy and painless so no issues there. You also don't need to be present as long as they have access to the area to be work on. This is both good and bad...more on that later.

The agreement was for yard clean up and pre-emergent for future weed control. None of the weeds were actually removed except for especially large stalks. They simply treated them with weed killer. The issue is the yard still had weeds and patches of wild grass throughout but they are all just shriveled and dead. This is nearly as unsightly as before. There were many fallen leaves and twigs remaining because little care and attention were given to that. None of my trees were trimmed. The pre-emergent was never done. They did not charge me for it however, due to the decent amount of rain this spring, I had to call them back for another round a little more than a month later

The next time they were out was May 5th. Same deal. No actual weed or wild grass removal, no tree trimming and no pre-emergent. This time there was a small hole in a side window. I'm certain this is from the weedwacker kicking up rocks. That's the downside of not being present while the work is done. You have no way to prove the damage wasn't there before or after they were on the property.

Sadly, I can't recommend this company nor do I plan to use their service

Absolutely the WORST service. They never complete the service (leave weeds, skip trees, etc), blow rocks and debris into our neighbors yard, have broken 2 sprinklers and a light, left massive holes in the yard after a sprinkler install have charged us extra for services we did not ask for/consent to and in one case told them not to perform. They are more than happy to try to sell me pre-emergent though. Do not trust them with credit card information - they will abuse it. Do not trust them with your yard, customer satisfaction means nothing to them.

I used this company once in April and refrained from leaving this review because the actual guys who came out were wonderful and very kind. However, after using another company and seeing the quality of work for a comparative rate, I have to say I'm very disappointed in my experience with AMS landscaping. While the guys who came out were great, the work was subpar. Leaves were haphazardly blown into corners and never collected, bushes were trimmed unevenly, patches of grass growing in the gravel and around plants were left, weeds were only trimmed and they claimed they sprayed them but the weeds immediately came back. In a pinch this company was alright, but I can't say I will use them again. For almost $400 the quality should have been better.

We have been using ASM for a few months, and now I have three dead bushes.  They charged use more than the estimate for monthly service, did not check the irrigation (which I both requested and is supposed to be a normal part of the service).  So what I am paying for? They stop in, use a leaf blower for a few minutes, then leave.  The did not pull any weeds, they just sprayed.  A week after spraying, more weeds.  When I talked to them about this, their response was that the weed would come back... unless I got a special weed treatment that would cost $200.00.  So I'm paying for monthly weed control that doesn't remove or control weeds.  I wanted to landscape my new property in Fall, but since my plants are dying  (although the weeds are doing great) I can't imagine going forward with my plans with this company.

Correspondence with Eli started off well, and I really wish I could have dealt with him only because I'm sure this would have never ended up where it did.

I was passed on to Heather to schedule an appointment and had initially asked for Thursday or Friday because I had more flexibility those days.

I received an email Monday asking advising they had availability 9am-11am and if I could do that. I responded and said it was going to be tight and needed to leave at 11am for an appointment. I nearly called off the visit for Tuesday all together because I didn't receive confirmation of the appointment until that morning (after what I went through I really wish I had). Heather advised me they could work with my regarding having to leave at 11am.

At around 11am Tuesday, I receive a call from George that he is going to be another 15 minutes and kept asking me to wait.. I explained I had to go to an appointment (and already told Heather this) and they charge me for no shows. I advised George it just wasn't going to work out and to not bother showing up because the whole point was to come up with a plan together. George insisted he was going to come by regardless (against my wishes I might add) and draft up a plan without me there? I'm sorry but that's pretty disturbing. George also wouldn't let me off the phone, I had to hang up on him because he wasn't getting the hint.

I found out later that day George did show up to my property - that is so not ok, I've honestly been fuming since this incident.

To add insult to injury, George texts me asking for my business saying he will give me a 15% discount, yet the special on Yelp was for 20% off.. so he thinks I wouldn't clue into this? The whole experience was just wrong all around.

Later that day I got another e-mail from Heather asking to reschedule for Thursday (of course, now they want to give me the day I asked for). But after my experience with George? Nope and nope.. I responded with my frustration and experience of the whole incident and no one ever got back to me with so much as a sorry.

Well, that was a clear sign this project just was not going to work out with AMS.

UPDATE: They returned today and did the remaining two aloe plants and also indicated we'd get a credit for today's service.  I will say the office staff provides excellent customer service. However,  as mentioned in my original review, the aloes were once again trimmed in a manner that left a mess and didn't give the impression they tried in any way to make them look nice in the process.  I also have plants extending above my wall that I don't think have been trimmed a single time since hiring AMS for our routine care.  Pictures attached.

After multiple issues with AMS and giving them the benefit of the doubt,  I'm now very close to canceling our bi weekly services.  Early on it looked like nothing was being trimmed... just a quick blow and mow. I inquired about this after witnessing a 20 minute (maybe less) visit in which the crew was unaware I was working from my home office that day. The next service,  the bushes were trimmed and edging completed as requested. Since then,  it's been emails to AMS at least monthly to ask about weed control,  trimming,  and care for our aloes and agaves. More often than not,  the crew looks to just blow and mow. When we do inquire about other services,  they eventually do them but they do a poor job.  They trimmed some of our aloes the back but left chopped off pieces strewn about and basically removed the entire middle section of one (dead parts apparently... but they didn't even attempt to trim it in a way that looked nice). Because other aloes were not done as expected during bi weekly visits,  I asked for a quote for them to be handled separate from our routine service.   They came and removed some agave off shoots in the front,  but the largest, most grassy  and weeded, aloes in the back are still untouched.....  despite me sending pictures and asking why they weren't handled. I was told the info would be shared with the crew arriving today for our scheduled service.  The crew came today,  and again,  these aloes were untouched (and if I'm being honest,  we have other  plants that could use a trim I haven't even mentioned to AMS yet because I wanted the aloes addressed first) .

The crew today was here maybe 30 minutes and did a blow and mow. They left before I could flag anyone down and verify all work was done as expected (I'm home on maternity leave with a newborn and was preoccupied at the time they wrapped up.... but I didn't expect them to leave so fast either).

We were charged extra this month for the 'clean up' pruning of the agaves and aloes, but I'm still trying to figure out what the heck we're paying for. They did half that job and we're constantly sending emails to chase the crew down about services missed during regular maintenance. We also had a no show last month and no one informed us of the situation until we reached out. Not the first time,  and as we lock our dogs up all day on service dates, it's very inconvenient when no one shows as expected.

Prices are already a little high for routine maintenance and I don't even feel we're getting our money's worth there...let alone paying extra this month for services that were half completed. I don't mind paying more for good and consistent service,  but that's not what we've experienced month after month with this company

Although I was hesitant at first because the previous two reviews gave me pause, I decided to give AMS a chance because of the preponderance of good reviewers prior to these two. The majority of reviewers were correct: Eli is fast with correspondence, and, unlike his competition, requested pictures in the first message rather than going back and forth several times before asking for pictures. I was provided an accurate estimate based on the pictures (and no hidden charges although I did ask for an on-the-spot estimate for additional work).

The hand-off to Melissa for scheduling was seamless, and I don't have a problem with having my credit card on file: they are, after all, a business and deserve to have some assurance that they will be paid for their labor. With next day scheduling, I was given a general estimated arrival time and assurances that I didn't need to be home. When I indicated that I wanted to be present for the first visit, Melissa listened: the team showed up promptly at noon (the estimated time). The work was completed thoroughly and professionally.

If there is a problem with invoicing, I'll update this review to reflect that. At this time, though, I'm over-the-moon happy with how quick and painless the process was...for me. The weeds and overgrown trees (now wrangled into shape) might not agree.

We originally had AMS come out for a major cleanup and to spray pre emergent. Since then, we have been on a monthly schedule for regular maintenance.

I'd highly recommend the pre emergent to anyone. We've been very impressed with how few weeds come up now, especially after the heavy rains we got this spring.

I also really like how well they communicate. They always send a notification on when they are coming out. After the service they provide details on what sections of the yard were done, what chemicals were applied, etc. Whenever I have questions Melissa is always quick to respond and is very helpful.

The quality of service has also been great in our experience. Our shrubs always look great and they leave the yard very clean when they are done.

AMS has been servicing a rental property for us for over 3 months. They always send a courtesy email before arriving which is great to let our tenants know. They have amazing pricing and they are hard workers!! The work is always very quality. I recommend AMS Landscaping to anyone, any day of the week!!!

Very rude people. Used them for a while. They came over rang more door bell about 20 times while my 5 month old is sleeping asked me to let the dogs in which was fine but my husbands trailer was in the way which I didn't know I suggest if they could move it and the worker says to me ummm that not my job I'm a landscaper in which is completely understandable but don't give me and attitude when I'm paying you for a service. There are plenty of company's out there. I told them to leave and they were not even wearing masks.

Our last couple
months of weekends had been dedicated to our sons soccer season and with the rain we'd had here in the valley, our year was totally overrun by weeds. We called AMS after seeing a referral on a neighborhood SwipSwap site. They were very friendly and accommodating to make the appointment with. They arrived today and within just a few short hours, we had our yard back! They even sprayed in the rocks to kill the weeds so they wouldn't come back...I'm sure hoping they don't

I would like to first start off by saying our yard was a complete disaster and it has made a complete transformation after AMS Landscaping came to work their magic! We moved into our house in January and we haven't done much besides water the plants since. They were all over grown and the yard was starting to look really bad....yes we were those neighbors we called Eli the owner and he said no problem we will get people over there next week.

He was so professional and helpful for someone that's never owned their own house I didn't even know where to start. He walked us through al of it and asked us what we wanted. Well they exceeded all of our expectations! Our house looks phenomenal! The neighbors are driving by and envying our new yard!

Received a quote from them to blow my yard with minimal leaves on the ground from 2 trees, trim 5 small brushes, and 2 small palms trees. I have fake grass and pavers through all my back yard. I was quoted $195 for excessive cleaning and $95 for the cleaning so $290 for first time cleaning. That's crazy.

I talked with another companies that quote $100 for the clean up.

When I asked the office why the quote was so high they just said because it was going to take them so many hours to clean up.  The company I hired did it in 35mins and perfectly. Needless to say I have a small backyard!

Melissa was a pleasure to set up the initial quote/estimate. They use an email service to confirm the appt and Chris provided a very reasonable quote that I signed up about 5 min after he left. He had already emailed me the estimate by the time he was in his truck and leaving. They came for the initial clean up and to remove some plants I requested to be taken out and gave me a heads up on two irrigation drips that had a leak. The next day after that initial clean up and leak Chris again called right after that to let me know he will have his irrigation team out to check out the leaks for an estimate and next day had an email for that set up next week. Very fair prices, do what they say, great follow up, trustworthy and great system,process and communication. Highly recommend for landscaping, yard maintenance, clean ups, in Scottsdale, AZ

Recently decided to have our yard maintained by AMS landscaping. After a few quotes and shopping around, we decided to move forward with them. They did an outstanding job on the first initial visit as our yard needed to have leaves and other debris removed. We also wanted to add some queen palm trees to the backyard. Chris came out and did a consult with us and explained the whole process and was super professional and caring. He also explained the one-year warranty on the trees which was a great selling point. Would definitely recommend!

Great customer service, quick quote and scheduling to get you hooked. To bad the landscapers bailed on the job without telling me. They pulled up and sat in their truck for 10 mins. then drove off. 30 mins later I received an email telling me they had a bigger job and could not get to mine. They had no reply to the CONTRACT that they rush upon you to get their business. I would go to 0 or lower stars but Yelp doesn't allow that. Avoid and find somebody else.

I guess maybe they'd be good at what they do; I wouldn't know since they never got back to me with an estimate...in spite of me calling them to check up on it.  Call wasn't returned.  Oh well.  Guess they don't need the work.  Maybe call someone else.

Echoing some other reviewers - it starts out great when you're a new client - good communication with their office staff - feels professional, and then it's downhill from there.

We were getting a routine cleanup/landscaping every two weeks - and the quality (and quantity) of work depended on who showed up. Sometimes it looked like all they really did was blow leaves, but then other times they clearly trimmed, raked the gravel and did a complete job. Also trying to ask about additional work to be done was like pulling teeth. I asked on three separate occasions if the palo verde in our front yard needed to be trimmed. The first time I was told the service crew could give an opinion on that (never happened), I then followed up with an email which went unanswered, finally the third time I was told an arborist could come out but I'd have to be there (between 12-2 on a Tuesday.. right because it's not like I work full time).

Lack of consistency in the servicing, unable/unwilling to answer basic questions about additional work, no thanks. I've since terminated my account with them (which was acknowledged by their office), but then got a subsequent notification from their office that I'm on the schedule for another servicing.

The only positives are that they have an online payment system and take credit cards without a surcharge.

Giving a two star rating as it's not like anything ever looked worse after a servicing - so I guess there's that.

We love AMS. They come like clockwork, are speedy, don't leave a ton of debris in the pool and the team even smiles when they work (at least from what I've witnessed). Definitely recommend.

I requested a quote from these guys to remove all sorts of weeds and plants from my front yard. Rather than giving me a full quote, they demanded a credit card on file.. I asked them to call me before doing anything and have yet to get a call, so I never reached out again since there's no way I'm giving my credit card without a finalized quote. A few days later they show up at my door knocking at 7am ready to work/taking pictures of my house. I already had the job done by someone else. Poor communication. Won't ever answer a phone call.

I rarely write reviews (bc truthfully I never have the time)...but I feel this company deserves a shout out & I feel the obligation to write something about them because working with them was truly a great experience. This review will be a tad lengthy bc I feel it is important to provide details on why I was so impressed by them. I owned a property in Peoria, AZ that was on the market to be sold. I live in a suburb of Chicago...very far away. Never having lived in AZ, I was clueless on any reputable companies so I blindly chose them from looking at reviews on Yelp. I did call a few other companies as well, however, they gave me the best quote. My realtor informed us that we needed to have weed removal done, so that was the service I was specifically needing. I set up the service (which happened to be the day prior to having the inspection done for closing on the house) and on that day I received a call from the landscaper that while they were weeding, a small rock hit the sliding glass door & the glass shattered. This was an unfortunate & stressful moment (since now we are due to close on the house). However I was super understanding as accidents do happen...but most importantly, they were up front & honest from  the get-go. They literally called me right when it happened! That is priceless...knowing that the home was vacant, they could have easily left & denied anything happened when I truly would have had no evidence. Furthermore, instantly they called a glass guy to fix the door (& obviously took responsibility for the cost...which sadly on their end cost more than the weeding service). Fast forward to the glass guy...make a long story short on this, the glass guy they had hired did a really shoddy job & the buyer of my home was not wanting to move forward at this point. I took care of the issue, got the glass fixed, paid for the door & AMS refunded me. It was a significant financial loss to them, & I felt horrible for that. But they took full responsibility, returned EVERY email & call promptly, & I can't speak highly enough about them. Their honesty & customer service EXCEEDED any expectations I had...you don't find many companies around like that anymore nowadays. THANK YOU Melissa Zimmerman...you were the greatest pleasure to work with...& thank you AMS for your outstanding & quality service!!! I give you way more than 5 stars!!!

I was really impressed working with this landscaping company. I've owned my home for 10 years and never seem to get my landscaping done correctly. It was time to find a landscaping company in Phoenix that knew how to consistently produce quality work and keep my yard looking great. The team from AMS come out last Friday (July 10) to work on my patio.  My patio was a dark and foreboding wasteland of weeds, dead plants, and a very thorny vine that was eager to attack if you looked at it.

Supervisor Ryan came out the preceding week to talk about the different types of plant life, what would work well for my yard based upon size, light exposure, and how nice the plants would look.  He also took in to my considerations of low leaf litter and nothing that would stab me without a reason.

The following week I arrived home to my own backyard oasis.  The floral choices are pretty, smell nice, and multipurpose (aloe, lavender, rosemary, and a miniature citrus tree to name a few.)

Once again, I can't fully express how happy I am with the work.  Contact AMS if you're looking for a laid back, knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating experience.

I contacted AMS for winter seeding of my lawn. I asked them for 3 things that I wanted. A clean up (mow, clean up weeds), then the winter seed being put down. The third thing I requested is a hole to be filled in front of my porch. They gave me quote, and I agreed to hire them to do this job.

They sent me an email, about an hour after their crew was supposed to show up at 7am, letting me know they rescheduled me. Bummer, because I took the day off. They rescheduled me for about 5 days later.

5 days later they came out to do the job. A team of 2 people showed up to my house and were very friendly. They completed the job and left before I could ask them any questions. I emailed their receptionist and was told the timers were set and I didn't need to do anything with them, till they come back in 2 weeks to reseed (which I was just now hearing about). I also had noticed that a rake and shovel were left in my backyard, against a wall in the corner. The person emailing me told me that those were my tools. I let her know I thought that was pretty unprofessional to use my own tools. She told me they had not done that, and she was sorry for any inconvenience. I also realized a day or two later that to fill that hole I had asked about, they literally dug a hole on the side of my yard and used that dirt (and a ton of rocks) to fill the hole. I bring up the rocks, because it rained the next day and all the rocks came to the surface and now I have rocks all over the lawn.

They gave me a day that they were coming out to do the reseeding. They did not give me a time frame, and when I finally emailed later that afternoon, to find out when they were coming, I was told they weren't going to make it out that day. I spent the entire day at home, waiting for them to show up, only to be told they need to reschedule again. They finally came out on the next day to finish the reseeding.

I would have given them at least 2 stars, because the winter grass does seem to be coming in okay, but it was just a horrible experience and all I could get out of them when I expressed these frustrations was sorry for any inconvenience. Well, I'm sorry I chose them to do work on my lawn.

The worst company ever. Bad customer service, not responsible staff, billing issues and more. Better of find another company. Not sure why reviews are high.

We recently had AMS out to quote our yard clean up.  Eli was very friendly and knowledgeable.  I got quotes from 4 area competitors and AMS gave us the best price.  AMS did such a great job on our yard.  We were so pleased.  If you're in the market for yard clean up give them a call.  I highly recommend them!

My experience couldn't have gone better.  I inquired on costs, they got back to me really quickly, and then they did a bang-up job when it came time to actually doing it.

Not at all impressed. I had AMS come and do my backyard a few weeks ago.  I think my money would have been better spent with another company.  Eli was very prompt and nice, too bad he was not the workers who came to my house.  Being in a rental property, I needed my back yard cleaned up.  This was half done.  The trees that they would cut were cut only on one side.  The weeds that they would cut and spray with weed killer, are already sprouting back up ALL over the yard.  I could have bought a weed wacker for the price I paid.  Overall, I will not be calling them again to redo what should have been done already.  Very Disappointing since there were such great reviews on here.

I had them come out to spray and remove weeds. Within a week, the weeds were already popping back up and they keep on coming back.

I thought I would give them another chance, so I called them out for a quote to clean up my front yard. Now, it hasn't been trimmed in a while, HOWEVER, It's no where near overgrown, it just needed to be cleaned up and reshaped. They came out and quoted $195. I've had the front yard be in worse shape than it is now and a guy only charged $120 and did a great job. Too bad I don't have his contact information so he can get the money. When I mentioned that to Chris (from AMS), he didn't really care that someone has done it for less and just said OK and hung up. Wouldn't recommend them.

From start to finish, I did not receive great service with AMS.  When I called, I was helped by what appeared to be an answering service.  They couldn't answer any of my questions and said someone would call me back.  Someone did 3 days later.  They then stopped by the following week to give an estimate.  We discussed what I wanted done which I thought was fairly simple and they quoted me a price.  
They did not complete the job.  My backyard was a mess and there were still weeds everywhere.  A week or so later, someone called to retrieve payment from me.  I explained that I didn't get the services I was promised.  They said someone would return my call.  No one ever did.  Weeks and weeks passed of request for payment and me leaving messages disputing what I was charged since I didn't get the full services done.
Eventually, because there seemed to be no resolution and I wanted it to be over with, I paid the amount they were asking for.
No one has ever called me back.  They never returned or followed-up.  There was zero concern on their end.
Very disappointed, as I selected this company based upon the solid reviews on Yelp.

AMS landscaping is a great Company! I highly recommend everyone to use them on your yards. They have good competative prices and if you have questions, Eli has the answers,he is very knowledgeable and knows exactly what he is doing.

After having used AMS Landscaping for my townhouse, I called them in to fix up my patio at my new home since I couldn't get a hold of the landscaper who had initially done the job.  There was a bit of a mix up as to the initial quote, but after everything was cleared up they completed the job quickly and even went above and beyond to treat my pavers which were stained. Thank you so much Heather and Chris! I am so excited to have my bank patio nice and clean and ready for the summer.

The reason I called AMS is because they seemed to have good reviews. When I called and requested a quote from them they quoted me $100.00 every other week. I thought that was high but signed up anyway and started having AMS service our property. What I didn't know is that that only includes mowing...thats it. I stressed to Melissa the scheduler that I needed a set day every time as we have dogs and would need to keep them locked inside on those days. She said that wouldn't be a problem. Every time a service reminder was sent...it had the incorrect date so I ended up having to call and email and stress again how that is not the date we picked and had on file. She would apologize and say that she had corrected it but never did she send out a corrected service reminder. That made me wonder if they were actually going to show up on the designated day. This happened every other week and every other week I was on the phone with Melissa explaining the same thing. This went on for over 3 months. She then informed me that they no longer had a crew in our area on the date we had on file. I said ok let's pick a different date. Here we are today I left the house and locked the dogs up only to find out that the crew showed up to take photos to provide us an estimate on trimming the trees. My husband was able to talk to them over our ring camera system and they informed him that they were going to mow the lawns today. When I came home I could immediately see that no lawn care was performed. So I locked my dogs up all day for nothing. This is also the reason why I cancelled all future services at our property. This is not rocket science. I should not have to constantly follow up and make sure that AMS has the correct date to service our property. I also was never really satisfied with the care. I felt like the landscapers could have cut our grass shorter and always was telling them to do that. Not really sure how they have so many good reviews because my experience was anything but good.

Would definitely recommend - the owner goes out of his way to ensure his customers are happy - definitely a rarity these days.

I did my homework and tried to make a good choice (licensed, bonded, insured), but was disappointed by the quality of service.  At my first routine maintenance appointment, 1) the sprinklers were not turned on to evaluate how they were watering the lawn, 2) weeds in the lawn were just flattened by the mower or cut but left sitting on the lawn (which was not overgrown, nor had the crew exceeded their time at my home), and 3) weed spray was applied carelessly and killed a spot of my lawn.  Although the company did not charge me because I was not satisfied, they did not seem to care, unfortunately.

I have recently hired AMS to do my regular mow and blow service. I decided to bring them on because of how responsive Eli was to my questions and emails. As a new home owner, I am no landscaping expert and I have a lot of questions.

Eli is always very fast to respond, he worked quickly to get me a temp crew before my full time crew started, and when I ask for honest Do It Yourself Advice, he provides it without just trying to upsell me.

While the price is reasonable, I knew that AMS was not the most inexpensive service.  I hired them because of how easy they are to communicate with, make requests to, pay my bill and answer questions.

So often we forget to give kudos to people that give us amazing service every month! AMS landscaping does this for me! These guys are great! And anytime I've any questions or requests I always hear back from  them immediately. They know what they're doing and are willing to customize whatever type of service you need. Can't say enough good things about them

Easy to contact and quick while on the job. My only complaint is that one item on their to-do list wasn't completed, but when I notified them of the issue, they scheduled a time to come out and finish the agreed-upon task.

We had AMS come out for a Clean up project at our school cutting back weeds and cleaning the parking lot. WOW they did an excellent job. Crew was polite and checked in with me and asked what I wanted done. Work was done right and quickly. Payment was easily done directly with the owner over the phone. They are going to set me up with online payment to make it even more convenient. I highly recommend AMS for any landscaping or clean up needs.

I think yelp needs to make the Message notification section of the site much more noticeable.  I have logged in several unrelated reviews since I wrote this one and at no time did I notice the comments from Eli reaching out over 7 months ago trying to make this right.

In response to his inquiry and for public knowledge : Communication began in email beginning December 3rd 2012.  He sent a very professional and thorough bid on Dec 6th- Lead property manager left several voice mails to clarify his bid work (mostly about who he contracts for palms) and got no reply- We then emailed on the18th asking for return phone calls- then again on Dec 26th- I wrote my original review on Jan 9th and still at that point had not heard back from AMS.

Yes this was all during the holiday season, but work doesn't stop for us so we had to move on at that point and use a different vendor.

Ironically the vendor we chose was less then appealing and we are looking for a new contractor to handle our west valley portfolio.

I would love to give AMS another chance and provide even more stars to this review.

Eli and his team are great partners to work with as we work together to both help service homeowner's properties together.  Their team is very responsive and offer quality workmanship and great customer service.  Their communication is outstanding and it is a pleasure working with their team.

Being the post-apocalyptic disaster my front and backyards were, I expected to be shelling out a lot of cash for a cleanup.

Not only did AMS have the best price (I checked with 3 other companies), they did an amazing job for the cheapest, and even cleaned up the back alley I hadn't even thought about. Eli was incredibly prompt at returning emails and setting up an appointment, and was even great about helping me with a payment option that suited me best. I'll definitely be using their service again in the future.

I visit Yelp alot when looking for different companies. AMS received alot of positive reviews. I sent a email late sunday night, Eli was quick to return my email the next morning. His crew came out quoted me a price and was able to clean up my landscaling in the back yard that same day. Only took about an hour maybe and hour and a half. They worked fast and together to get everything done. I will be recommending this company to other people. Thank you, for your service AMS!

My fiance and I just purchased a home and needed the landscape cleaned up. We also requested the irrigation system to be looked at, and the lights that are wired in the yard. Eli was quick to get his crew out to give us an estimate (which was a very reasonable price for 11,000 sq ft property) and they got to work right away. Mike was very nice and explained everything to us. He reset the sprinkler system for us (twice) and checked to see if the lighting was receiving any electricity before giving us an estimate on that. They really did an excellent job at a very fair price. We will definitely be recommending them to our friends and neighbors!

I can't review their work, only the response. I emailed AMS for an estimate, Eli responded and told me they do not do work in Tolleson, AZ and gave me referrals to other companies. The thing that is strange is on their Yelp map it shows they work in Tolleson. It shows they go out to as far as 195th Ave and down almost to the city of Maricopa.

I appreciate the quick response and referrals, but the map is misleading and needs to be updated.

I was in a bind and needed to find a landscaping / lawn service quickly.  Yelp to the rescue!  A quick search lead me to AMS Landscaping where I left a message on a Friday that was quickly returned by Eli who setup a crew for the coming Monday.  

The crew was at my home around 1pm, we walked around the property discussing what needed to be done and as soon as a price was determined and agreed upon the crew got to work.  The three person crew worked very quickly and efficiently with great attention to detail.  When they were done the crew lead walked me around the property again to make sure it was completed to my satisfaction.  It was!  

If you need a company that shows up when expected, responds promptly, performs brilliantly and prices reasonably I would recommend AMS.

AMS Landscaping exceeded my expectations!  Everyone from the office to the field displayed great customers service.  I have a very small back patio area that was covered leaves and debris.  They did a great job and they even trimmed the tree in the alley that hangs in my yard. So grateful for your service, Thank you!

I hired AMS to do some yard cleanup and they could not have been more helpful and efficient. This yard had been neglected for a bit so it was a lot of work but they did it in 2 hrs and hauled it all away. They also have fast response from the office.

Wow is all I can say. I got AMS's  number through a Friend that said this company is Top Notch. I called to try and schedule a yard cleanup and Eli said he was currently in the area and would stop by to give me a bid within a hour.
       One hour later I get a e-mail with 3 pictures of my yard in its current condition and a reasonable price that stopped me from shopping anywhere else. The job was done two days later from a three man crew that cleaned up after they were done.
This is the way business should be done, it would save me a lot of headaches . I will be using AMS Landscaping in the future.

I was a long time customer. Not any more.

I understand that there has been some apparent issues with your prior office manager; however, making that your customer's problem is bad business practice.

Apparently I was never billed for January and June. That is so long ago and now I have to pay those invoices and what we expected to be a monthly service apparently is an every 4 weeks service so I was charged twice in September. That wouldn't have been so bad if these sudden other invoices didn't suddenly come up as well making the amount due way too much.

We've been a customer for 2 years and even moved and recommended you to the buyers of our old house and kept you with this one. From the below reviews it seems that quite a few customers have been lost, including us, to the errors. I hope other customers situations are handled better. It really stinks because the actual service performed was great. Absolutely no complaints and we had a beautiful lawn.

So after getting off to a rocky start we have been able to work the kinks out. Couldn't be happier with our service and they have been extremely responsive to our requests. I would recommend them without reservation.

On phone for a minute. Worse customer service. Asked for all my info but can't give a quote on a basic back yard tilling.

Bad billing practices.

Look they do great work. My problem is the billing. In the fall they billed me for work I asked them not to do. When I got the bill, I sent them an email asking for them to remove that part. No response. They continue to send me the bills for it till I sent an angry email. They apologize, fix the bill and we move on.

Six months later and there is a 3 month gap where they don't send me a bill. When it finally comes, I pay all three months online. Right before I go on vacation, they don't come to the house. I figure I messed up the week. I come back from vacation and no work was done. I email to ask my account status. No response. I receive a bill. It says I did not pay those three previous months. So I recheck everything and find that the online payments all have the same invoice number and it is not mine. Crap. Something got messed up in the online system and it looks like I paid someone else's bill. I email them with copies of my payments, which I also verified were withdrawn from my bank account. No response.

Two months later I have moved on to another company and figure this place just doesn't care. Then I get another bill saying I still owe for the three months minus my previous $70 payment. What???!!!!! I did not make a $70 payment on that date.  So it looks like my payments don't go to my account, but someone else's does?

Obviously something is seriously jacked up with this account. I understand mistakes happen, but it is the lack of response that is causing this conflict to escalate, just like it did last time. There you go. Good lawn work, bad billing.

My yard was a complete mess, I was almost embarrassed to have anyone come out to do it because it was so bad. I found them on Google and asked for a quote, the next day I had an email from Eli telling me how much it was, inclusive of pictures of my yard so he could reference which areas he had a plan for.

They were able to come out in 2 days from my original email and cleaned up my yard to the point where I am SO proud to show people my house and the landscape job his crew did. I immediately set up a monthly service with them (so cheap!). He is licensed and all his workers are legitimate which makes me feel like it's money well spent as a consumer.

I shopped around at about 8 local places and they were not only the best price I found, but the service from beginning to end was worth double the money.

Our front yard was a complete disaster and faces a busy street. After researching and getting a few quotes we decided to give AMS our business and so glad we did. Ryan came out, listen to our wants and needs, and then gave us some great ideas. The Emerald Palo Verde and different selections of cactus are fantastic. Our new watering system works great. (though I will have to have an electrician move the electrical run for the timer - but that's ok - I need other electrical work done as well.)

I will be contacting AMS to setup routine maintenance service.

We've used several landscapers over the years and the quality of their work deteriorated over time. ... Arrived late. ... Missed the details, etc.

AMS Landscaping gave us an extremely reasonable quote and do a fantastic job, week-in and week-out. Very thorough. Their staff is friendly and easy to work with. I highly recommend them for your landscaping needs.

The first time my husband contacted AMS was a few weeks ago to get our sprinklers fixed. The first guy who came out was not familiar with the system so they had to reschedule and bring somebody different. Regardless, my mother in law gave the first guy instructions and told him specific instruction on what needs to be done on certain sprinklers (which sprinklers need to be shut off, need to be turned on etc.), she was happy since this guy was writing everything in his notes.

The second guy came and fixed some of the sprinklers, only for us to find out that they were not working. We had to call last week (or the week before) to ask them to re-check everything since the sprinklers were not going off.

The third guy came out and made the sprinklers come off, however, still did not work on the sprinklers that needed to be shut off and the ones that need to be turned on.

Yes I'm aware that this got ridiculously long but I'm frustrated to say the least.

Now understand that I'm not a new customer, I've been with them for about a year. The crew had been doing a decent job maintaining my lawn. The problems started when we moved and had to switch the maintenance service to a different address. Seems simple enough right? Come give me a new estimate and send the crew to start on my new place after we move.

I informed them even before we moved and gave them the date and new address. First of all, you're lucky if anyone even picks up the phone, and then you leave voice messages that gets ignored. I left 2 voice mails that never got acknowledged. Then I finally spoke to Joanna who said Eli would be down to my new house asap to give me an estimate.

Days later, I called again and there began the merry go round of Eli claiming that he spoke to my spouse, (never happened), emailing an estimate that we never got it, not even in spam mail so who knows,  Eli saying my front lawn has grass when it's all desert landscape so I THINK he went to the wrong address but Joanna had no idea and couldn't confirm so I still don't know what happened there. And it's not like we're in a hard to find part of town, it's only about A MILE AWAY from my old place. So I had to wait again for him to do another estimate. That took forever. They finally gave me one and promised to come this week . No one has showed up since. Considering it's a long holiday weekend tomorrow, it's obviously a no show with zero communication as to why. What a complete and utter waste of my time

And as of today (3rd July) I still have not received any response to my email a week ago giving a start date or or any acknowledgement when I finally emailed them to ask them to cancel my account. Keep in mind that I'm a paying customer and here I am left wondering if they even care. After nearly a month of waiting, calls and emails, I have been more than humanly patient in giving them the benefit of the doubt. All this for a simple change of maintenance address is absolutely RIDICULOUS.

It is unprofessional that a problem persist with barely any followup effort from AMS nor should it be MY responsibility to have to keep chasing after them like I had to. It's also incredibly disrespectful to waste my time like this. Their communication is just  horrible and customer service is obviously not their priority after they got your business.

So this epic essay is to say -  DO NOT USE AMS if you value your precious time and sanity. There are too many other companies out there who are hungry for your business to deal with so much incompetency. Sure it starts out well but heaven help you if you need any sort of help or changes to your service later on because then it all goes straight . to . hell.

My story is similar to everyone else's - Contacted several landscaping companies for bids - Only  a few bothered to show up when they said they would.  Eli was over the very next day - he knew what he was talking about - and emailed a bid as soon as he left.

The crew - 3 guys - showed when Eli said they would. They were extremely efficient, and made our front and backyard look very well manicured.

AMS is now our monthly landscape company.

I requested a quote through Yelp for some irrigation repairs but they couldn't get a technician out to look at my yard for a few days and I ended up going with Sprinkler Doctor. The technician still came out to the property, and made repairs without consulting me or getting authorization. I had no idea anyone was on the property, didn't received a phone call until nearly 24 hours later only to find out that not only did they fix leaks they had turned the water on not even 4 hours after the repairs Sprinkler Doctor made, which required the water be off for at least 24 hours so the glue had time to dry. I have no idea what/where these leaks were as there was only one and it had already been fixed. The technician also stated that normally they would charge me for the repairs, which infuriates me because I did not authorization any work being done and there were no other leaks on the property anyway!

UPDATE: 5/20/2016
I did speak with the operations manager about this incident and they explained that due to their company values they always try to exceed expectations. While I definitely understand this and under any other circumstances would appreciate it, I still had no idea anyone was on the property even if it was due to mistyping my phone number. If they had taken the time to verify the number either when placing the work order, or when failing to reach me on their way to the property this whole thing could have been avoided.

I changed the rating from 1 star to 2 star's because they did call me back to sort things out and are offering to fix the original repairs if it does not hold.

I have been looking for a reputable Landscaper in my area (Laveen) since I moved to AZ to maintain my residence and I came across AMS Landscaping so I thought I give them a try. I have to say thanks to Chris and his assistant for bringing my yard back to life you guys did an amazing job. Thank you so much. We will definitely be using you guys again.

Already disappointed -scheduled consultation and no one showed up or even called.  Not a good first impression.

Very very impressed.  Prior to AMS, I would have to cally landscaper (went through a bunch) incessantly just to get th out (almost like they were doing ME a favor by coming to my house).

I found AMS on YELP, and have been working with Eli.  It's been phenomenal, hassle free, immediately get a response and I get to speak with someone who speaks English.   Even the payment is done electronically.

I love these guys, highly recommend them.

To top everything off--I'm still getting a bill from these people AFTER I fired them and the agreement has been completed and paid! The billing system is unorganized and unethical.

We at first had great service when we initially hired them to maintain our front yard.  But once we finished the landscaping in our backyard and upgraded our service to include it the quality of service seemed to go down.  Although we have a large yard (about 1/2 acre) it is not heavily landscaped.  His crew seemed to mostly focus on the smaller plants and ignored our trees and bells at the far end of the property.  He made several attempts to address our concerns, but it seemed like his crews just either didn't get the message, or didn't follow instructions.  Either way we ended up mutually agreeing to end his service.  Stand up guy, but he needs to get a handle on the quality of service being performed by his crews.

He was so patient answering all my questions and helping me to pick plants, I had no idea how this worked or what to choose. He got our budget and made it work, I was am so impressed. Heather did a great job scheduling it and communicating to me when there were delays due to rain. Jorge was the actual installer, he text me when completed and sent me pictures. He also gave me instructions of how to take care of the plants. I can't say enough good things about this company. They didn't make a ton of money off this job. ( it's rental and we didn't have a large budget) but they never made me feel like it didn't matter because of the money they were making. They took good care of me even though it was a small job. Thank you to everyone at AMS Landscaping, you all were a pleasure to work with and just a class act. THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Great job on my moms place in Phoenix. I contacted them online and they sent me a quote with before pics. I approved it and a day later the job was done and after pics were sent. They take credit cards so it made the whole transaction easy. I highly recommend them if your out of town and need to have pics for assurance that the job was done.

Since I wrote my initial review, the owner contacted me to try and make amends.  He was apologetic about my overall experience, and offered me a refund to show that they stand behind their services, and that customer satisfaction is important to them.  I was actually impressed by this; this is beyond what I expected.  I would still be cautious if you choose to use them.  I definitely would not recommend it unless you can be there to meet with them and oversee the process.

Had these guys out for the first time to clean up the weeds/trim bushes in our front yard...we had just gotten too busy and the yard was overrun. They were quick to respond to my request for an estimate and after I accepted, they were out the next day. I was very pleasantly surprised with how great the yard looked when I came home that day; it was like a different house. My neighbor was home when the guys came by to do the work - he made a point to come over and tell me how impressed he was with the efficiency that the team had and that they had even pre-treated for weeds after cleaning the existing ones up! Worth every penny!

Very friendly, easy to contact via phone/email and responsive.  I called in with a few sprinkler system issues in a new home.  AMS (I wish I remembered the tech's name) was on time, and went way above and beyond repair.  He fixed the wiring and found some problems with the original weekend warrior install, then set it up perfectly for summer.  Prices were very reasonable.   My home is now the greenest emerald on the street.  Thanks, guys!

I'm so impressed with this company.  Within a week, I've gone from reading yelp reviews about AMS to writing one!  Eli quickly responded to my email request for a one time clean up quote, they took pictures of the property while quoting us, the price was reasonable, and we got a date on the calendar, all conveniently via email.  The crew showed up this morning and completed their work quickly and efficiently.  They took care to tidy everything up after they finished and our yard looks so refreshed!  I highly recommend using this team for your landscaping needs - we will definitely use them again the future.

I called and left a voicemail for them to come out and do some yardwork for me in Scottsdale, and they never bothered to call me back.  These seems strange to me, having somebody knock on your door saying, hey I want to pay you money, and the business is like, NAW we're good.  Maybe it's a teenage answering the phones who doesn't care, but disappointing, as I wanted to give them a shot from the good reviews.

I have used AMS Landscaping for probably close to 3 years now. They are very dependable and reliable. I find their rates to be very competitive and always do a good job. I have consulted with Eli on numerous projects and he is a wealth of information. I would highly recommend AMS to anyone searching for the services they provide.

I have been using AMS at my commercial building since 2002.  They are on time, quick but attention to detail with a noticeable clean-up job of debris, leaves, etc.  I have also used them to do a complete landscape plan for one of my homes in the past.  They even replaced a tree that died over the winter.  If you are shopping around you will find that AMS is on the more expensive side, however in Arizona you really do get what you pay for in terms of landscaping and maintenance.

I have been trying different landscaping companies but had issues of some nature.  Either they were over priced or once they arrived I could not communicate with them. Eli gave me quote in advance and scheduled the service timely with reasonable prices.  The crew showed up and did a fantastic job.

I finally found a company I can commit to and maintain regular service.  What a relief!  Highly recommended based on my experience.

We contacted several landscapers to get bids. I assumed that AMS was going to be one of the high bids -- it was just the opposite. There bid was very reasonable.
The were prompt in the bidding process, always showed up on time and did a terrific job with a very large clean- up.

I don't understand what is going on at their office.  Does no one answer the phone or check messages?  I have been calling and leaving messages for the past two weeks to get a quote on some properties I own and have not received any callback.  If this is how AMS treats potential new customers I would cringe at the thought of how paying customers are treated.

The old landscaping company thought the schedule was some kind of rough outline. If the made it out a few days give or take, if they got most of it done... they cashed the check. We had to change and AMS looked good.

To the best of my knowledge they have been on schedule. I say that because landscaping has become so effortless I don't even know when they work.  We discover there is a problem (like a leak in the timer box) because AMS sends a digital picture, the prior company waited for us to tell them when we thought there was a problem.

AMS was doing a great job for the HOA, but I had not considered using them for my yard. I LIKE playing in the yard. Had some things come up and the yard was starting to get less attention. I had to do something and AMS was it. They did not show me up by getting grass to grow in the shade or perform miracles like year round green grass, but they are getting close. The great thing is now I play with my landscaping - they do the work.

If your HOA has no green thumb; if you do, but it is busy - I recommend you call AMS.

I was looking for landscapers who could provide prompt service and easy communication with the crews working in my yard for specific issues as they arose. I got both, as well as a competitive price for the job.  Highly recommended.

Immediate response from Eli and he asked permission to take pictures (as I was not home).  We did everything else via email.  I had to wait a month for the actual work because I had other things going on, NOT because of AMS, who would've been out within a week or so.

Unlike others, I did not get competing bids.  I read the reviews and noticed that AMS had long time satisfied customers.  That tells me a lot.  His bid was fair for the work needing to be done.

3 men showed up, did a fabulous job.  We then did a walk through and they thinned the forest of bamboo a little more at my request.
They even blew the whole (very long) patio.  You say so what?  We'll, I'll tell you:  there was a pile of debris/dirt that I had swept up but was sitting there a long time.  Not in the bid,  they just did it.  It was no skin off their backs to do that little extra, but most companies I've dealt with only do what they bid and not an ounce more.

I am not quick to give out perfect scores on any review site.  I got my money's worth, very nice and proficient, friendly and communicative service, AND a backyard that looks like a backyard again, instead of a weed/tree/debris dump.

Used AMS to help me solve some drainage problems around my house from last fall's rains.  I needed some re-grading and french drains installed.  From my initial contact of AMS, I had an initial meeting with them in just 2 days and a quote by the following day.  I had some questions and Ryan was very responsive.  He even showed up a second time at my house to make sure I was comfortable with exactly how the work would happen and where the trenches would be.  I ended up using them, and they did a great job. The finished product looks discrete, and they even used a hose to test the system with me before they left, to demonstrate how everything will work.  Just in time for monsoon season!  Thanks AMS.

I contacted AMS because of all the rave reviews on Yelp, and I must say I was pretty disappointed. I was mainly looking for someone to clean up all the pine needles, leaves, and other debris in the backyard. I expressed this in my initial quote request. Although they did respond quickly and showed up when promised, it was apparent that they paid very little attention to my request. Not only did they do a sloppy job clearing out the backyard, they also left a big pile of leaves at the side of the house. I had to contact them to come back to clean it up and to get rid of the pine needles and leaves as I had originally requested. The second time around they still did only a mediocre job, but at least they got rid of the pile of leaves. This wouldn't bother me as much if I wasn't paying them nearly $50 per man hour (I was charged $95 and two people came for about 50 minutes), but I'm pretty sure I could hire a high-schooler for $20/hr to do a better job.

Two weeks later I came home to a freshly mowed lawn that I did not order (I specifically requested a one-time clean up). I thought maybe they did it out of goodwill because they were trying to make up for the first time. But then I got the bill and they had charged me $55 extra for a 'bi-weekly service' (i.e. mowing my lawn). Ouch! No thanks.

We've just started using AMS for my home and are much happier than we were with the last company we were using.  They are prompt and show up on time.  Of course, they do a great job!  I will be using them from now on!  Keep up the great work AMS!

Finally a service provider that provides stellar service. Our experience with Riley and AMS was fantastic. The process to get an estimate was super convenient and I was able to schedule the work right away. The quality of the work done was top notch. Riley went above and beyond and really cared about how my yard looked and was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. She even texted me a picture of the work when it was done because she knew I was excited to see the outcome! And on top of all that, the price came out significantly lower than the competitor's quote. *Highly* recommended!!

I had a problem with my sprinklers after calling four different companies I called Eli at AMS. Eli came over the next day he was on time. He was able to fix the problem quick and under budget. I normally don't write reviews, but I am truly impressed with the service. People just don't care anymore Eli is truly an old fashion guy who cares! AMS is pricey and I am not rich and I do not have a fancy yard.  However they are reliable and emails are answered promptly. My handyman said the AMS crew was friendly and polite toward him. Those things are important to me.

I am pretty impressed with AMS Landscaping.  I liked them on FB thought I had an issue, sent Eli a message and he sent his guys out.  They were here in a day.  Found out I didn't really have a problem and set my system up correctly.  Nice!!!!  Then I really did have a leakage issue, sent Eli another FB message and out come his guys again.  They fixed the problem and now I have no issues.  Thanks Eli and AMS Landscaping you guys ROCK!!!!

AMS Landscaping did a terrific job. From the woman that answered the phone to the two men that completed the job we were very impressed with their professionalism! I called AMS and was told that an estimate would be done on Wednesday, and sure enough, Eli from AMS Landscape completed his estimate on Wednesday. He emailed me pictures of the job and his pricing. When I emailed him back about a specific question, he responded within just a few minutes which was very impressive. We agreed on a price and scheduled the service to be completed. We were very happy with the work done (trimming bushes, cleaning up weeds, raking rocks and they even moved some river rocks for us from what side of the house to another!) Overall, I am very impressed with AMS Landscaping and would use them again as well as refer them to friends and family.

Very strange -- I can't reconcile all the positive reviews with my own personal experience. Called them up due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback on Yelp.

I had a few sprinkler heads that needed to be replaced/repaired/adjusted before I overseeded. Eli got back to me quickly and set an appointment on a day when I'd be at work, which was fine. On the day of the appointment, I got a call from the service tech telling me that my sprinklers were fine but my controller was broken, and it would be $385 to replace. I told him that the controller isn't broken -- one of the buttons is sticky, but the system is fine. On the other hand, the sprinklers are not fine, that's why I called. He told me the system was old and should be replaced. I gently told him that I would consider that, but I wasn't going to authorize a $385 replacement without getting a competitive bid, but in the meantime, would he please run and repair the sprinkler heads as I requested -- I mentioned the specific ones I had concerns about. He barked at me, but agreed to do so. I still haven't seen any paperwork or notice regarding what he did.

Maybe the service tech was just having a bad day, but I can't recommend these guys.

Appreciate that at least the owner posts productive and rational responses to reviews that show opportunities to improve. Nice to know that someone might be listening.

I chose AMS because of the glowing reviews.  My experience wasn't so glowing.  We got a quote, which was high, but I figured since all the good reviews, it was worth the money.  Several emails later we confirmed the appointment date and anxiously awaited only to have the technicians come out to assess and not do the actual work.  Mistakes happen but the re-schedule was a full week out, which was unacceptable.  Very frustating.  The two stars because Eli seems like a nice guy and was apologetic.

Eli and his crew are the best - quick to respond to e-mails, professional when they visit my house, and always do a great job. I have three dogs and a brown thumb, so my yard isn't the fanciest, but they treat me and my house with a lot of care. I appreciate that!

I had AMS clean up a quarter acre lot in an HOA and repair my watering system. That work turned out OK with a lot of debris blown into the pool.  I requested the small front lawn be removed and replaced with rock.  They spayed lawn to kill and a couple of days later, it was cover in rock and the front yard looked fine.  A couple months later, the electricity went out and I had to reset the watering system.  The front lawn sprinklers were tuning on again.  I dug around and found that the lawn was never removed just covered over with mesh.  I disconnected the wiring to the sprinkler solenoid, something that should have been done by AMS.

Wow, I rarely write reviews, but AMS was worthy of me writing this.  Quick, easy, and hassle free.  Told them what I was looking for, they came and examined property and gave me a quote that was great.  As soon as I said yes, they were there for the appointment and did everything great.  Yard looked 100 times better.  I don't recommend or take time to write reviews, but felt this was needed.

Several weeks ago I used AMS landscaping for a one time yard clean up. I made initial contact via the website and then all subsequent contact between email exchange. They came out on the day they said they would and by the end of the day I had a quote waiting for me in my email. Pricing was fair and worth it for the time it would have taken me to complete what they did in a very short time. Thanks for the clean up!

Eli Hall was quick to return my call and sent a guy to my house within a few business days.  The man who came to my house was easy to communicate with.  He repaired an irrigation leak quickly and prepared a very reasonable estimate to have some overgrown and troubled shrubs and trees removed.  The bid and bill for the leak repair came via email within a few days of the AMS' person visit, and there were photos attached for the work done / estimated.  A very professional, service oriented company.  I will definitely use them again.

Here goes a huge shout-out and THANKS to Eli and AMS Landscaping!  Where do I begin? I guess, the saying Third time is a charm rings true when it comes to AMS. After having to deal with 2 previous landscaping companies, I am so glad we decided to give AMS a shot. Almost 2 years ago we called AMS, after a bad experience with my last two landscaping companies.  First, I found AMS Landscaping on Yelp (thank you yelp), then I called AMS and a guy named Eli (owner) answered my call right away and was able to give us an estimate within 24-48 hours, as promised. From then on, the rest is almost too good to be true for a landscaping company, these days.  Over the last 2 years AMS has never skipped a beat  and always on time for our bi-monthly service, along with weed control twice or three times a year. I will sum it up and say that they are very reliable, honor a great price for the amount of work done (they even do online bill pay now), they pay attention to detail (even clean out my pool after the service for no charge), very respectful to the property and surrounding property.  Last but not least and this says it all, I have referred AMS to 4 of my very close friends, that now thank me almost everytime they see me, for introducing them to the BEST LANDSCAPING COMPANY IN THE VALLEY!!!  I will leave you with this and I will say it to anybody DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TRY THESE GUYS OUT.   Thank you, Eli and A.M.S., for all you have done for us!

I recently found myself in need of a new landscape, irrigation and maintenance company, as my yard was overgrown and sorely needing attention. It is always hard to pick and start with a new company, so I checked out the Internet and company reviews.  I landed on AMS and have been exceptionally pleased from start to finish.  Eli Hall has been wonderful, always checking to make sure I am satisfied and that all is occurring as planned.  The estimates for the work were very reasonable and all was scheduled and accomplished in just a little over 2 weeks from my initial contact.   Every single person who has been at my home has been personable, knowledgeable and attentive to my requests. I have revised my total irrigation system (much needed) and despite the amount of digging and moving dirt around, my yard looks neat and clean.  I am also their first customer to install an automatic bio-feed system, so stay tuned to hear about and see the improvements in my plants and trees.  In today's competitive market, companies need to not only have good products, but also need to promote good customer service in order to attract and retain clients.
