If I was able to give zero stars for Adam's, I would. Let me tell you a tale that spans back to a little over a year ago...
Just over a year ago, we had a major leak in the walls connecting both bathrooms and the kitchen. A plumber came out and repaired the work and recommended Adam's to our landlord to use for asbestos clean-up, remodeling, and all other needs. So, being naive and unaware of how many awful reviews were left for them, we decided to move forward. Adam's installed multiple giant and very noisy fans in our house for the mold and asbestos removal that stayed installed for weeks. After they deemed the asbestos gone, they determined they were too busy to complete the work so hired out a subcontractor, Rocket Restoration, to complete. The owner came in with her wife (?), an elderly man, and a different crew daily. Tore up our guest bathroom, kitchen, and most of the master bathroom, then disappeared for months. I was left without a functioning shower, one toilet between 4 people, and no kitchen for at least 3 months. Adam's did nothing to help us pin down Rocket to get them to finish their work. After they finally showed up for work again to finish (which took them another 4 months due to a multitude of other things), the work was deemed completed and Adam's moved on. So did we.
Moving forward to a few months ago, the SAME leak reappeared. Thankfully it was not as dire as before, but still. Turns out, Rocket had not repaired the proper water pipes and Adam's did not bother to ensure their subcontractor was doing their job properly. So here we are again. The plumber has once again come out and done their job to the best of their abilities, and now it is left up to Adam's to put our guest bathroom back together. After installing yet even more large obnoxious fans to dry the walls, Adam's, surprise, disappeared for a week. After constant badgering from ourselves and the landlord, they decided it was time to work again. Never once did they call to confirm scheduled dates and times to send a crew over to check on the fans they installed to dry the walls, people were just randomly showing up at my house whenever they pleased. This caused much anxiety as most times it looked as though my porch was being robbed, I had no idea Adam's was at my house multiple times when I was not home. I even have an incident on my video doorbell of one of your employees looking around my front porch, moving things to see what we have and if he could maybe take anything. He then stole a cigarette from a pack left on the table, and enjoyed it on my front porch. I had half a mind to call the police until I saw the rest of the crew show up 10 minutes later to tear out every inch of the guest bathroom. They then called my husband after to ensure it would be finished by the end of that week.
Anyway, back to the fans. After about 3 weeks of having these fans installed and being told the dampness in our carpet is increasing but not to worry, we worried, and raised the issue to the owners. I had a guy tell me I'm wrong to my face that its normal from the moisture to go from 4% to 33% overnight. In what world is that normal. How can they guarantee the leak is fixed but there is still moisture in our carpets from said leak? After sending probably 8 different people out to look at these fans, it was then concluded the WRONG FANS had been installed the whole time. They had installed dehumidifiers, not drying fans, which accounts to our constant nose bleeds, even one for my baby daughter. After this was discovered, Adam's stopped showing up for work yet again. The only time the landlord was able to get into contact with them was to ask if they had spoken to the insurance adjuster to complete the work, which they had not. The adjuster then confirmed that Adam's was not answering their calls either. When asked again if they would meet the strict deadline of December 15th to complete construction, we were laughed at and told it would take FOUR MONTHS. Adam's has since been fired.
If anyone from Adam's bothers to read these, please come collect the 6 fans you have abandoned at my house (I think you know what house this is). According to you they cost roughly $20,000. They will be sitting on my front porch for you to collect at your leisure, since that is how you handle business.
I also want to comment on your mask policy. Out of the nearly 40 different people that have been through my house in the last year and a half, not a single one wore a mask. This all began at the start of the pandemic too. Even when my household had tested positive for covid and we did our part to notify Adams about our results, no one seemed to care and continued to show up without masks, despite us all being positive and us having an infant in the house.
It is mind boggling how you can function as a business, let alone as human beings putting other people through such torture and undue stress and anxiety.
