HISTORY

Established in 1957.
In 1957, Ballard native H. Vern Olson opened Northwest Water Heater Exchange, a business providing timely tank replacement and exceptional customer service. More than water heaters over the years, the business expanded to become Washington Energy Services, installing HVAC, windows, doors and siding. Now becoming a top home improvement company in the Seattle area. Washington Energy saw that there were companies who sold products and companies who installed products. However, no company that provided the products, installation and service all together. Washington Energy knew this approach would give homeowners the simplicity they need during home improvement projects. Today, Washington Energy has grown to provide tailored comfort and energy saving solutions! Wherever you see our trucks with their blue icon, you can be assured that we're committed to exceeding expectations by providing homeowners with the products and services they need!

We'd used them four years ago to replace our windows. They were about 40% the cost of Renewal By Andersen for the same Andersen windows, were professional and courteous throughout the process, and we haven't had a single problem since.

So when we wanted to put in a heat pump system for efficient heating and cooling they were high on our list. We got four bids, and once again they were the least expensive, in this case by a 30% margin. They explained our options well, came up with some creative solutions (we're an old house with old vent-work which they bypassed for the ductless pumps but used for a top quality air filter), and did the job quickly and efficiently. They've checked back a couple of times since to make sure everything is ok, which it is, and it's been really nice to heat our bedroom on some cold nights and cool my western facing home office on some sunny afternoons).  When the permit inspector asked before they came over who our installer is and I told them, they said They do really good work.

Definitely recommend them to others and in fact already have.

Just had my house air ducts cleaned. Daniel (and I think Anthony) were the crew. They were nice and professional, but after they finished, I turned on the furnace and checked the vents. Two of the vents had no air flow.  I thought the point of cleaning out the air ducts was to CLEAN OUT THE AIR DUCTS.  I showed the 2 vents to Daniel who had no explanation why there was no air flow.  Not sure what I paid for.  Very frustrating and disappointing.  Now what am I suppose to do?

WES installed new windows throughout my home. The proceeds initially was smooth. I felt like the sales rep listened and knew exactly what I was looking for.

When it came to installing the windows I was extremely disappointed and the resolution offered costed me more money out of pocket. When asked if a rendering of the custom windows could be provided I was told no- so I relied on conversations and pictures sent to WES to confirm the style and pattern of grids I was looking for.

When the windows were installed they were all wrong. The windows that were meant to have higher low e coating were in the wrong area of the house- resulting in the windows of the front of my house having dark tint when they were to be installed in the back of the house. The pattern of the grids were wrong and every window installed had scuffs, scratches and were missing pieces.

WES solution was for me to pay to fix only some of the problems and left me with scratched windows and a bottle of touch up paint. The sales rep who originally was helpful was extremely rude and dishonest.

It turned out my bulbs are dead - Candice came to check and found the problem. And does not charge me for it - appreciated a lot!

Woke up to no hot water. Called WES as they had installed the heater six years prior. They came out same day and fixed the issue, which turned out to be minor. Cris is a friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled technician and he handled everything quickly and efficiently. I am more than pleased with WES and intend to hire them again for future interior/exterior door projects as well as siding for the whole house. Highly recommended.

Washington Energy was installing my brand new HVAC system, they drove off my driveway and ran over to 10 foot Rhododendrum's and broke them. They were 30 years old these plants. When we complain to Washington Energy they did nothing about it and close the case. We had damage to our property we were never reimbursed we were never called and they did nothing I even put a second call in and they were totally rude about it. The people drove completely off the driveway and ran over these and broke them off I am still upset and nothing was ever done.

One of the coldest week our furnace system broke. We came to Washington Energy Services to purchase and convert our furnace system. We were told it would be installed within a couple of days. It wasn't installed until a few weeks had passed. This was just a few years ago. Last year the furnace stopped and we called  different company to repair. They said the furnace was very old and needed replacing. We were sold an old used furnace system by Washington Energy Services.

I called after my water heater failed (no hot water in the house).  I spoke with Dee and she was extremely helpful and polite on the phone, said she would put me on the do not cancel list.  Suggested I wait for Dave because of his experience level.  I sent photos, she explained there was a rebate that I was eligible for by end of June, etc.  Dave was busy and the soonest he could come out was Wednesday, 6/28, between 10 and 2.  I took the day off work and at 4pm, I still hadn't heard a word from Dave or anyone else at WES.  I called and spoke to a gentleman named Alan.  He called Dave and Dave was stuck on Camano Island and would need to reschedule.  He didn't realize this before 4:30pm?  So much for customer service.  I will never use this company.  Very rude to cost me a day's work AND then recommend I use someone else because I said I didn't want to take another day off of work.  Beware and make sure you read the complaints on the Better Business Bureau site.

Exceptional Service from every member of the team beginning with Sales and ending with completion of a Generator and Transfer switch. Professional, Friendly, Punctual and went a few extra miles to install a wall switch for my fireplace, which had nothing to do with the Generator installation.  This was my first experiece with WES and they will be my go too from now on.

I'm surprised by the negative reviews I see.  WES has installed both an automatic generator and a heat pump in our home and we had a good experience.  They were reliable about scheduling, easy to get ahold of, and work was done to the proposed schedule.  Costs were high, but so has every single home remodel or maintenance thing (and we've done a lot) in Seattle.  Seattle is just overpriced for everything!  The quotes on the above were consistent with other quotes we received so pricing was competitive.  They were also respectful and clean in our home and did good work.  They are about to come give a quote for window installation so hopefully I can provide a good update later too.

We are dedicated to using Washington Energy for most of their products simply because of their quality products and service. Today was a good example. Time for a maintainance check for the furnace and that brought Jacob Byrd to the house. On time, called before he arrived, and totally professional. He was efficient and courteous, easy to ask questions and had good answers. With winter quickly approaching, it is critical that the furnace is in working order. Due to Jacob Byrd's skills and Washington Energy, I am confident our furnace  ready for winter !

As an aside, we also had Washington Energy install out air-conditioning unit (last winter when the costs were less) so next fall Washington Energy will service the furnace and a-c with the same visit.

Widows? Yep, they also measured, ordered and installed those for the entire house and what a difference! Perfect fit too.

Backdoor to the garage? Yep, that too and it was installed perfectly.

So, WES is our go-to company.

-- Edit: Craig's response about WES being in contact with me to resolve the issue is stretching the truth to put things mildly.  Their idea of attempting to find a resolution was Charles calling me, telling me they can't install until September 25th and gave me either the option to wait until then or be refunded my initial deposit. After hearing every excuse contradicting with his initial sales pitch, I had no option but to take the refund and write this review. No other attempts were made to find an amicable solution.

I had some doubts over whether I just got unlucky with a bad sales rep, but reading the rest of the reviews clearly shows that this behavior is standard operating procedure.
--

Don't waste your time with these folks. Their salesperson Charles Hassa will promise you the world to get you to sign and then fail to follow through.

I signed a contract on 3/26 for a 3 zone setup and paid a $5000 deposit, while making it abundantly clear that I want this installed before the next heatwave. Charles told me that they're scheduling for end of June, supply chains wouldn't be an issue, and that the real bottleneck lies with the Seattle permitting process. (Did my research and found it only takes the city 3 weeks to process & approve a permit, they also had permits approved in my building a few weeks prior to my appointment).

Charles was optimistic about their past experience in our building, and how they'd be able to install a 3 zone in my apartment. I asked him about the parts that seemed tricky (plumbing behind kitchen cabinets), but he said that it wouldn't be an issue at all. I signed the contract, paid $5000 and only after that he told me that they'll need to send an engineer out to see if it's possible to install a 3 zone. He told me he'd expedite it and the engineer would come around ASAP.

A week later still with nothing scheduled, and I get a mail from WES saying that due to supply constraints they won't be able to schedule installs in advance, but need to do JIT scheduling. I called them up asking where the engineer was, and it turns out he's on holidays for another few weeks. I tried to cancel my contract because I signed for a 3 zone AC to be installed in July, and at this stage they couldn't guarantee me a July install or a 3 zone AC.

Charles emailed the engineer a video of our house, and lo and behold the engineer said that installing a 3 zone would be more trouble than it's worth. He talked me into signing a single zone, and I gave him the benefit of the doubt and trust that he'll be able to get this installed for summer.

June comes, and they incorrectly filed the permits for a 3 zone AC instead of a 1 zone. When it came to scheduling on June 23rd, it turns out only 2 people were qualified to install in my building and installation would only be possible on the 25th of September, 9 months after I signed. Charles previously worked with other units in my building, and should have been well aware of these constraints.

He apologized for the install being delayed until autumn and gave me the option to cancel the contract. I essentially just gave them a $5000 interest free loan and they left me without AC for another summer.

WES installed our furnace and for 22 years did the maintenance, but now they are only helping customers who have used services within the past 5 years and dropping loyal ones when there's an emergency. Terrible decision, Washington Energy.

5/3/2022:  After seeing my review, WES contacted me to request a walk-through.  Kevin arrived on time and expressed concern over my experience.  He demonstrated window operation - it turns out the windows have a feature that I didn't know about (I edited my initial review to delete an inaccurate comment about not being sure whether windows were installed correctly with all parts functioning as designed -- Kevin showed me that the feature I thought might be a lock to hold the window open was actually for a different purpose).  Kevin inspected all the windows and found one that was missing a vent cover, which he indicated WES will return to install.

I believe that he and I agreed that WES' communication was poor and that WES did not perform all the post-installation clean up that was supposed to be included in our window purchase.

I never want Washington Energy Services to step into my home ever again. I warn all my friends against them. I hired them to do a new ductless AC installation in my century home. They were very quick on day 1 and got me running the day before the heat wave. Heating/cooling worked great. But they left HUGE open holes in the walls for tubing. Why so big??? I was told I'd get a call to schedule the next day to finish the job. Weeks went by. I called multiple times, was told somebody would call me by EOD, nothing. Finally I hear that the manager of my account left and it fell through the cracks. Five huge holes in my walls have been open the entire time, just inviting pests into my house and between the walls.

Six weeks after the holes were cut, somebody comes out to seal them. He used CAULK to seal the 6x6 square holes on only one side (each hole has outside and inside portions of wall). Right after he turned his back to move onto the next, the caulk already separated. I was speechless. Did he think I wouldn't notice because I'm a woman or something? I then called WES to ask politely that they send somebody out to fix this mess. Somebody came out and installed metal plates instead so rodents can't get in, which I'm happy about. but my walls were open for weeks - I could already have pests in them! But wait, it's not over.

I had a city inspector come out FOUR TIMES until the job finally passed inspection. Issues included not sealing the holes well and also exposed copper pipe to drip condensation into my attic. The third time WES came out, I politely but firmly requested that a manager join to observe so the job would get done. Every time I called to have somebody come out, it took multiple phone calls, each one with a broken promise that somebody would call me back, until I could finally get through to somebody. It finally passed inspection, but it looks very ugly where the tubes go into the house by the heat pump. The inspector commented that it looked particularly bad. I waited until it finally passed to post this review.

I did the math. I calculated my hourly rate at my job. WES wasted at least $1500 of my time. This whole thing lasted six months. I wish so much that I had paid the extra thousand dollars to go with Seatown or Greenwood. The low quote just isn't worth it - steer clear.

Washington Energy provided maintenece for our gas fireplace. The customer service was great! Damon was on time, worked efficently, was kind, courteous, and patient while answering lots of questions from our inquisitive four year old grandson. After several years of sitting unused our fireplace is now up and running. Would recommend this company to friends and family.

I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. Please don't hire them. In 2016 or 2017 I purchased a BRYANT ductless heating and cooling system. Two technicians came to my house to install it, even though they were both nice, one of them smelled like a walking cigarette. It was awful.
It was installed around October and on March when I had a bunch of people in my house for my birthday and it was getting too warm so we turned on the AC. The unit was only blowing regular air like. We had to open our doors to get some cold air. It took a few weeks to get a technician to come and guess what they said, oh,  the wires were switched that's why it was doing that.

Next was on the same year, not enough cold air was blowing, so we called again, and this time it does have enough freon. For the next few years I was calling them the same reason. They were not sure what's wrong and they said it could be leaking somewhere in the line.

There was a year when the heater was not working and it was snowing outside. The unit was struggling to blow warm air. I have an elderly father in the house and our portable heaters were not enough to warm him. One time I called the technician back because of the frequency of all the issues I have been having. During our conversation he said, we backed our workmanship, so I told him there's no workmanship here if you guys have been coming back multiple times. I was getting furious at the time.
Finally I told them , you will need to take this whole system and install a new one. I met with one of the big bosses and said hey, this is obviously a faulty system. It has been giving me problems from the first year I bought it and your technicians were coming multiple times year to diagnose and fix something. They hesitated but I told them I will call the attorney general's office if they don't replace it. Even gave me an example
of just like the doctors, they should operate on left kidney but did the right. I was like, WHAT?! I told him I work in a hospital, if this happened, the doctor will be sued for malpractice. I told him wrong example and analogy.
Okay, so it happened. They had about 4-5 people showed up first including a licensed electrician from their company.
Keep in mind that I had to rearrange my days and have taken time off to accommodate their schedule. They will give you a window of time, I believe 4  hours and it might take them a couple hours to check to see what's wrong. It doesn't mean they can fix it that day. It will be another scheduled appt and installation can take from 6-8 hrs.
Just when I thought the newly installed Daikin system in 2021 was going to be the end of my misery,  I was so wrong. When all 3 units were going at the same time, it was struggling to blow enough air again. They came multiple times to check what's wrong and couldn't figure out. It was taking them hours to diagnose. One time I came out and asked the manager, who was present at that time, could it be my outdoor unit is not big enough for my 3 indoor units? He said, NO, this outdoor unit is big enough. So I said, ok. Who am I  to question, he is the manager for the technicians  and it HVAC is not my specialty. Obviously they don't have a clue. Their next step was to ask their Daikin Rep. It was taking a while to hear from the Rep so I spoke with this lovely Customer Service Rep, Sara if I could speak to a higher up. Before I could speak to this boss it looked like he got involved contacting the Rep and he finally responded. The recommendation was to install a bigger outdoor unit. There was a miscalculation because of the long line from my indoor units to my outdoor unit. Exactly what I told the manager.  Really?? They had a licensed electrician showed up he didn't realized that. This is like installing a small electrical panel that is not enough for the appliances inside the house. It was really stupid!!
I finally spoke with Craig, I expressed my frustrations, anger and disappointments. I have been dealing with this issue for 6 years and countless hours calling them and staying in the house waiting for them to show up and fix the issues. I am done with this company. Also, I realized that the first installation was done so botchy. The technician forcefully bent the downspout to run the line below instead of installing like an elbow shape to go on top of the spout. I asked Craig how do we know if this really going to fix the problem. He said the Daikin Rep did his calculations. I asked to see this calculations and I never received it. I really feel like it is a guessing game. They hope it will fix the problem but not absolute certainty . I also asked to be compensated for so many hours between my sister and I we spent rearranging our days and taking time off so they could fix their issues.
I just couldn't believe it. I am beyond exhausted with this company and this review is long overdue. Excuse me if I am missing some words for I am writing this pretty late.

Checked our heating/cooling. Price was higher than I was originally told, but that was found to be a misunderstanding on my part since we had a middle person between us the entire time who didn't understand the jargon fully. Done in under an hour and even let me know about other deals they have if I booked again. It's been over a month now since our service and things seem to be working fine.

The furnace in our home presently does not work. I had a quote lined up on a Monday, Tyson showed up said I would have a quote in the next day or two. Four days later I reached out to remind him our furnace was not working. I did get a quote by Thursday night. I followed up first thing in the morning with a request for additional information. Friday  afternoon I reached out again, and I called Saturday.  No response.
Yesterday I call the company and was told I would have a quote by the end of the day. The response I got was asking me if I wanted a new quote - yes,  of course. I called the company the next day and was told it would go to the sales manager and I would have a phone call or a quote by the end of the day. Still nothing.
If I could give them zero stars I would. Don't waste your time with this company they do not want your business.

WA ENERGY did a phenomenal job on our home.  We had a generator installed and a new window installed as well as quite a bit of electrical work done including running electricity to our shed and installing light sockets and lights and installing a 2nd electrical box.  All was inspected and passed with flying colors.  2 very full days with 5 guys and a little extra time to order and install window. The personalities of all of the guys actually made it 2 fun days.  We got along so well we made them come in for lunch and warm up as it was so very cold out.  They were going to eat in their trucks.  This was a huge job and lots went on.  We couldn't be happier with the results, cleanliness and how great the guys were.

Wow! I looked long and hard for companies to clean out hvac system. We ended up choosing Washington Energy and signed up for their yearly

Company does not buckle and dime. Is on time, professional and honestly just great all around experience.

This company takes no responsibility for their work. They had a technician diagnose my not working hot water heater. They ordered a part and came and installed it a few days later to find that that part didn't fix it. They won't remove the new part and put the old one back in and they won't leave your property until you pay. Management claims they are not responsible because the diagnosis was done by the manufacturer since their technician called their help line, but they are happy to charge you a diagnosis fee although apparently their technician did nothing.

Sadly I would not recommend WES based on our installation experience. While the installers were  friendly, they scratched our polished concrete floors so badly that there are chunks missing, chipped the paint on our door frame, and installed a different brand heat pump than we were quoted for without any notification. When I asked about the difference in heat pump than the one we signed a contract for, the installers said a sales person would get in contact with me in a day or two. I have yet to hear from the company again.

I'm very sorry to give this review because I actually had what I thought was a great experience up until the day of install. However, I want to warn people about this company and if you actually choose them to give you suggestions on how to have a potentially successful experience.

Because of Covid I waited over a year to  get my gas fireplace. Finally I decided it was time. The sales person, J.J. with whom I had interacted several times, always a good interaction, helped me out. We waited 3 months for the install date (thank you covid supply chain.) When it came time for the install, turns out they could not install it safely (our attic had potential asbestos) without putting the gas line on the outside, which I was not going to have.

I was very disappointed but it was no one's fault, but what was shocking to me was how I was treated. J.J. was rude to me when I called him for help, and to clarify how and why at the last minute this was the result. The poor installers, just kids, didn't really have the skills to explain the situation to me. Finally an install manager came and did explain it to me. However,  the sales manager with whom I wanted to discuss how I was treated,  who I was told would get back with me right away did nothing. Worse than that, I literally had to call back multiple times to get my deposit back. ($1,000!)

The problem that prevented the install was not their fault, but I hold the rep, J.J. responsible. He shined me on, saying it would be so simple without really investigating before he made that promise, took my money and allowed me to wait for months. From the installers perspective there were a lot of red flags that he should have seen and I should have been told of and then further investigated.

It is hard to put into words how much I feel I not only was sold a bill of goods but when confronted with problems that were not my fault, I was treated so rudely and then had to fight for my refund.

Frankly I feel I dodged a bullet because if this is how this company treats people I would not trust them to do any type of good follow up service.

If you decide to use this company make sure you require an inspection first, to make sure your place can actually accommodate what they are selling you.

Additional edit: I had a very good conversation with Craig and I do feel his company is trying to improve. I'll change my rating to a 2 star. Good luck!

I do NOT recommend Washington Energy Services to anyone looking for a mini split heat pump install in Seattle.

What a headache. To cut a long story short, the HVAC contractors did a terrible install job (3 leaks in the line set, refrigerant lines were connected to the wrong head units) and it took FIVE follow up visits to identify and fix the problem. During this chaos, I got to meet 6 different HVAC guys- only one of them figured it out on the 4th visit.

Worst part is that they kept recharging the refrigerant while there were still leaks in the system; and all of it leaked into the atmosphere. R410A is a powerful greenhouse warming gas that takes decades to decay. I feel terrible..

During the 2 weeks it took to finally get it fixed, management never reached out to me, and the front office scheduling staff were not pleasant to work with. Like, we went with the most expensive bid and I would expect an apology for poor work.

Bottom line: Skip Washington Energy Services, their staff don't know what they're doing and they will end up doing installing wrong.

Now downgrading back to one star.  The company scheduled our one year maintenance appointment on time.  However the technician did not bring a new filter, instead used a replacement filter we had in the house.  So we are out one filter that costs around $40-$50.
I called customer service who said they would mail us one, but after several week have not received one.
Due to the many mistakes and unprofessional work of some of their crew, I will not be giving this company any of my business in the future, nor recommending them to any neighbors. Most of whom have houses that are in the age when they will need furnace replacement.

Washington Energy Services sent out technician that came to the house and looked at our generator for 5 minutes and immediately determined that we needed it replaced.
I questioned him on what he saw and he just stated that the components were ruined and the whole unit needs to be replaced and he would give me a bid on how much it would cost.  He gave me a $15,000 bid to replace a bad battery. We called another service company and they came out and repaired it for $500 trip included.
Beware of Washington Energy services!

The installation of my heat pump went off without a hitch! The installers were extremely professional and efficient.

As an HOA board member, I helped coordinate other heat pump installs in our building. In every case, the WES staff, including sales, service and installation, were fantastic. Over 20 installs have been done, and every resident has been extremely pleased with the results.

Update:
I believe reviews should be fair, so am updating this one.

We had not complained to WA Energy about our most recent experience, because as noted earlier, it just gets to be a hassle sometimes being the squeaky wheel. We had just decided to cut our losses and move on to another company for our future HVAC needs.

However, apparently WA Energy saw my review and reached out to us, which we did really appreciate. A Service Manager (Kevin) came out to the house to talk about our experience and give us some additional options. He acknowledged that recommending a new a/c and furnace replacement, without actually pinpointing a problem was not a good approach by them, or satisfactory solution for us. He also acknowledged that we should have received information/details on the units quoted. As a solution, Kevin offered to continue diagnostic efforts until they figured out what was going on.

WA Energy came out again on 7/16/20, with Kevin personally accompanying the tech(s), and another leak search occurred. I will be honest in that we half expected a leak to be suddenly found and advised again to replace our system.  However, they spent a good part of the day searching and doing various diagnostics and could not find any leaks or obvious issue. Kevin's recommendation was another round of dye, with another leak search to occur in the Fall, in addition to his assurance that he would keep our a/c going through the summer and eventually locate the problem. We felt very satisfied with this and at this point WA Energy is now going above and beyond.

As a result of the above, I am adding two stars to the review, because I feel WA Energy earned them. They could have just seen my review and moved on to the next customer. Instead they voluntarily chose to reach out to us to address and correct our negative experience, which did/does make us feel like they value our business. So one star for that. The other star is for the additional effort that WA Energy and Kevin/crew has made toward diagnosing the issue and the promise that they will keep trying until they figure out what is going on with our system.

I will do another update after their final visit/recommendations.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have used WA Energy for many years for our furnace and a/c checks needs. For the most part things have been good, but seems like every few years we have issues with inexperienced techs. Over the last many years we have specifically asked for a senior tech to come out and work on our system, which doesn't seem like an unreasonable ask, but gets ignored at times. We will be assured by the scheduling dept. that we are getting a senior tech, and sometimes we do, and sometimes we don't.

For the issues that we have had, I will say that when we have brought them up to management they have always addressed them. So  I do give them credit for their customer service in that regard. It just has gotten to the point to where it has become a hassle and trust is no longer there.

Most recently, we paid $450 to put dye into our system as we were told we were losing refrigerant and had a leak somewhere. 4 leak checks later (9/4/19, 9/27/19, 5/12/20 and 6/17/20), nobody can find the leak. After the 4th check we were told it must be a microchannel leak, so small that it can't be detected. The recommended solution was a new a/c and furnace system totaling almost 9k. Yes our system is older, but it has been well cared for and serviced every year (and is working). When asking the tech for the information on the systems quoted (we couldn't find information on their website) we were told to find them on Bryant's website. In looking at Bryant's website, we couldn't find exact matches. So it does seem unprofessional to provide us with a 9k quote for a new a/c unit and furnace and not provide us one iota of information on the systems....

Doing our due diligence we did ask for an estimate from another provider. They noted that the $450 dye that we paid for is designed to show microscopic leaks, so if the techs couldn't find a leak, then they thought we probably don't have one. To be fair they did not actually perform a leak check. They also noted that they would have tried quick stop to fix any leak, before recommending a whole system replacement. We had previously asked a WA Energy tech about this, but they said they didn't use this anymore. Finally, the second provider said our a/c system sounds great and they wouldn't even recommend replacing at this time.

So now we are out $450 for a mysterious leak search that revealed no leaks, yet resulted in a recommendation for an a/c and furnace replacement.

We received great service, beautiful windows and reasonable pricing back in 2014, such that we decided to go with them again in 2022 for some windows we skipped in the first round.  The project looks great once again, everything done as scheduled, and the crew left our house spotless. Their bid was the lowest by a tad, but I would have hired them even if their bid had been higher.  Would definitely use them again.  Rob Cohn, the sales rep was very helpful throughout the process.

When the blower on our furnace stopped working A man from Puget Sound Energy tried to diagnose the problem but ended up suggesting we call Washington Energy Services.
Robert diagnosed two issues, ordered the parts, then picked them up on Friday, in hopes he would have a cancellation on Sat so we wouldn't have to go without heat until Wed.
He not only fixed it but educated us about how to help the furnace last longer. For example, not closing more than two heat vents and changing the filter more often to keep the blower from working too hard. He also said a new thermostat with an intermittent fan cycle would scrub dust from the air, but not to run the fan when windows are open in warm weather.

I had my front entry door replaced with Washington Energy Services two years ago. In March of 2021 we noticed that the door war warped so WES came out and had Cordel the maker of the door look at it and it was determined that the door failed because it was installed incorrectly by WES. Since then it has been a night mare. First each was saying that it was the others fault. Then Cordel decided to just replace the door and have one of there installers do the work. Well they did not know how to fix the inside trim so they ordered filler parts and 8 weeks later WES came to install these parts along with the trim. They came and left but the craftsmanship was the worst that I have seen. They blamed this problem on Cordel because they made the parts.
Long story short. It has now been 7 months and I still do not have the door done correctly. I guess I am again waiting on parts to be made. Each time it is 6-8 weeks for production. I have had nobody take responsibility for this issue.

I highly recommend you do not use Washington Energy Services for anything.  I called them Saturday AM when our furnace went out and they told me a technician couldn't come until 6p that evening.  At 7p, Mike the technician called to inform us he wasn't coming.  That meant we had all weekend until Monday to stay warm until the furnace got fixed.  Monday AM I call to confirm he is coming and was told between 10a -2p.  At 2p he sends a text informing us it would cost us $645. and he wouldn't be there until 4p.  I went through the roof and immediately called Olympic Heating.  They came out within the hour and charged us $200 with fantastic service.
WA Energy Service has the worst customer service, rude employees and charge 2-3x the competition.  DON'T USE THEM!

UPDATE:  Washington Energy Services called me back today, Saturday, to apologize.  They agreed a tripped breaker should have been looked into further from their staff and I will hopefully receive a reimbursement in the next couple of days.  They offered a look-see at my furnace- but honestly- I'm not interested in a company with poor service looking at any of my other home systems and feel I'd probably do better with youtube (again)- so would you.

Gah...I'm sick and have been off work for two days...and my water heater stopped working .  I hired a professional through Washington Energy Services- who charged me 142.16$ to tell me it was an electrical issue.  He didn't check or replace my thermostat or elements- despite knowing my basement had flooded with sewage water up to 13 a few months before.

I pd and electrician to tell me it was my water tank.

I then paid home depot for a new water thermostat and a new element- and lo and behold....the effing washington energy services was wrong.  And I fixed it, while sick and not a water heater fixer person!!!

Washington Energy has installed three major things for my home from air conditioning to water heater and had an emergency furnace replaced. They were extremely professional on time and overall just a great company. I've worked with them on a few locations that I have. I can honestly say I would definitely hire them again. I highly recommend them!

Today I had my new house furnace service by Jacob. He was very nice and courteous. I learned a lot about the furnace that I needed to know( year it was installed, how often to get it serviced, how often to change the filter)
He calmed my anxiety about having a furnace in the attic. And informing me that my furnace is good for a lot more years.
Both my old and now my house was done by WES and I would have them do it again.
Awesome job!  And thank you.

Since posting my review, a manager reached out, and it turns out they had refunded the overcharge, but never bothered to tell me, and my project advisor made it seem like it hadn't been refunded because he kept just saying he was looking into it for the past 2 months. So, communication was very poor, both internally within WES and with me. To be fair, the manager has done a good job trying to make things right and the window installation itself went very well, but I still can't give a positive review since my overall experience was bad.

Washington Energy Services did a great job. They gave us a fair price and wonderful service. Everyone was professional, safe (all masked up) and timely.
We are very pleased with our new heating/air system. It's nice to have the peace-of-mind that a new system (& warranty) offers.
Thanks to Jenny, Candace, Gary, Rick and several others for making this such a positive experience!

Update 9-22-2020.  A big thank YOU to Washington Energy Services for their excellent customer service and technical expertise.  Craig, the manager, is responsive and a genuinely nice person.  It really shows in his employees, thank you, Craig.

Due to the pollution I changed my appointment 3 x with Candice. I was a little embarrassed about pushing out the date but each time she was understanding and super nice about it, thank you so much, Candice.

Igor P and Vlad L did a super job installing the Bryant.  They left a voice mail to let me know they were on their way, arrived on time and were respectful with wearing a mask.  They explained why and what needed to be done.  They were professional, conscientious, and super careful with my stuff.  They are knowledgeable with all the different facets of the installation, knew what they were doing.  Installations in general are messy so I very much appreciate that they cleaned up afterwards.  I can barely tell that they'd installed these pipes.  Thank you so much, Igor and Vlad.

In summary, I'm super happy that I decided to purchase my new furnace from Washington Energy Services.  The Bryant furnace is so quiet, it's great.  I can highly recommend WSE and if I could, I'd give Washington Energy Services a well deserved10 stars!!!

Update, 9-11-20: I appreciate that Craig, the manager, contacted me and took care of the issue.  Apparently it was a misunderstanding.  Therefore, upgrading my review from 1 to 5 stars.  The furnace to be installed next week after the pollution lifts.  I trust the installation will be professional and will add another update after it's installed.

Washington Energy Services
They were at my place last week, submitted a quote for an 80% furnace.  I accepted the quote.
Today, they were back to and all of a sudden they cannot install an 80% furnace (to replace the existing 80% furnace) due to city of Bellevue regulations (?).  They want to install a 95% furnace that will cost thousands more.

I'm expecting a call from the manager who apparently made that decision.

We used Washington Energy Services to replace our water heater that had started leaking after 12 years. Between calling them and having the new water heater installed there was barely more than 24 hours, they got in there and swapped it out really quickly! They also saved us $1000 but letting us know the last people in our house hadn't really needed the behemoth of a water heater that they'd had, and they were right, and they also gave us a 15% repeat customer discount because the people who owned our house before used them too! We're doing great a week later and can still have two people shower at the same time with hot water. Kelly was especially helpful!

WES did a wonderful job installing my new windows.   It was not an easy job, in addition to replacing some older metal framed window from the 80s, they enlarged my only kitchen window to nearly twice the size.   The kitchen gets so much more light and makes the whole room feel different.  The windows look great and are so much easier to open than the old ones. The installers, Gerardo and Jerry, were detailed and listened to my concerns.  I had a few oddball requests (material used etc) and they were patient and happy to accommodate.  They protected my floors and countertops and cleaned up every evening before they left. I got the sound glass package (slightly thinker panes of different thicknesses) along with the 3 coats of low-e coatings.  I am looking forward to this summer where the western side of the home will not turn into a sauna.

A side note for those looking at the sound reducing glass package.   I live on a busier street and wanted to try and reduce the noise of cars passing by.  The WES consultant said that the sound glass package would reduce but not eliminate the noise so I went with it.   I am curious about this kind of stuff so I bought a decibel meter and took measurements before and after installation.  Before installation the average dB level was 37 dB and after installation the average level was 30 dB.  Definitely a marked improvement but I wish I could improve it more.

UPDATE
Last Wednesday we had you repairman out here because we are having trouble with getting our gas fireplace to light.  This has been an ongoing problem since we purchased it from you folks.  By Friday of last week we are going through the same thing.  Sometimes it will light, many times it won't!  Last year the electric panel  was replaced.  We expect  that we should be able to use this at all times.  Enough already!  We need service and we do not believe we should have to pay $141 service call again.  I have written you early last week and I wrote the manufacture too.  Neither of you had the decency to respond.  This expensive fireplace is a lemon!

Did not keep appointment window twice.  We had our gas fireplace installed by them last summer (2018) and it was fantastic.  Everything was done very well. They had to push our our installation window last year due to a busy schedule, so they offered us a complimentary 1st maintenance checkup. The service Technician was supposed to arrive yesterday (11/14) between 8-12pm and I had called that morning to confirm. The tech was a no show, so I called and they said my window actually 1-5pm. I don't know if they moved my appointment or what, but it changed. Again the tech was a no show. I called again at 4:50pm and said that the tech has not arrived. She let me know that the tech was running behind and that it would be another hour or so, which would be pushing the 6pm time frame. I said that is really late as I have already missed an entire day without any notification. I rescheduled for the next day (11/15) between 8-12pm. The tech again was a no show and no phone call. I called the service department and they were very appologic and I understand their situation, but it does not help my situation. She said that she spoke to the tech and that he should be there by 12:45pm. If not, to call again and they will have someone else dispatched. I just made another phone call to find out what is going on.
An area of improvement is that they need to communicate to their customers if the tech is not able to make the time window, so we are not wasting our valuable time. Instead of having a 4 hour window of waiting, I have had 13 hour window. It is not fair to customers to have to wait when I have other things that I could be doing.  Everyone's time is important and I have never seen someone consistently miss their appointment window.

Update...they were awesome! Came out and put in new fans in both of the rattling AC units (2/4 were noisy) and did it within a couple weeks of my original review (despite an awful car accident of someone plowing into their building, and having recent temps 100+ lately). 10 years ago, I contracted with these guys to install tankless hot water, efficient gas furnace, and a gas fireplace insert. I had to call them last week because the tankless hot water was leaking. Their service rep, Tim was fast and professional. He did a great job analyzing the problem and fought to get my (barely) in warranty parts.
He was courteous throughout and very personable. Of course the repair set me back, but Tim did all he could to make me feel that we got our money's worth. Give him a raise, your service techs make the company!

Washington Energy Services installed 2 windows for us to the tune of appx. $3,500 (for what amounted to about 4 hours of actual installation), but I get it, overhead, the salesman, etc. The salesman was great and that's the reason for the  1 star. The installer's circular saw kicked back on him and he cut a decent sized slice into my windowsill. His solution was to put a little putty into it, which did next to nothing to conceal it. They also ran out of the skirting/dressing that wraps the exterior of the windows and they ended up using the caulking to paint it. This was at my request so it didn't stand out like a sore thumb since the caulking was the correct color and they had plenty of it. I brought these issues to the attention of management. They came out and looked at it and said this is definitely not how we do business. They sent someone to paint the 2nd window's skirt/dressing, whatever you call it, and we never heard anything about our windowsill, which I had to fill, sand, and repaint. Not cool. The management, or whoever came out to inspect the job, said they would remedy the problem in one way or another. Then....crickets. I understand that mistakes will happen with this type of work. But a business who cares about getting repeat customers (we're going to get our sliding door replaced) wouldn't treat a customer this way. We'll be seeking another window company's services next time. It's too bad really...giving us a measly $150 refund for me having to fix their employee's mistake would have secured their company for replacing the rest of our windows. But I guess there's always Anderson, A&R, or Einar. My advice, seek out another company.

P.S.- the one window that was installed successfully doesn't lock when you slide it shut, as it should. You basically have to slam it to get the automatic lock mechanism to function properly.

The water heater my mother in law had been leasing for 10+ years started to leak so we called WES to come repair or replace.

They came the next day as scheduled and Travis K did the removal / install with a new water heater. Travis was kind, explained everything, and finished in the time he said he would.

Great service overall.

Called WES when my furnace was red tagged by PSE and I had no heat. They were booked 13 days out.  I called another company and got it fixed in 1 day.  WES was more interested in selling me a new furnace over the phone than coming to fix my furnace.  Their appointment process is strange also,  their receptionist put me on hold like 5 times every time she got a little bit of information from me.

I agree with other that you should look for another option beside WES.  They are a big company only interested in upselling you a new furnace where the big $$$ is .  They are not interested in servicing.

I'm updating this review due to the fact that Washington Energy sent a repairman out to my house this week and fixed my door handle.  It was a quick fix, but it's so nice now to have the door just open up easily!!

I knew I was overpaying for my new front door from Washington Energy Services in 2018, but I wanted to make sure I had a door that was installed correctly and warrantied because my old door leaked cold air.  I thought it would be worth the extra expense to use a company that would warranty the product they sold me.  Washington Energy had a contractor come and install my door.  I then had to have a Washington Energy employee come back two times to adjust the door because the contractor didn't install the door correctly in the first place.  I still have a gold screw showing on the White door jamb of my new front door that was used to try to adjust   I'd  positioning of the improperly installed door.  Next, I had to call about the weather stripping on my door.  About 30% of it ripped off with normal use after about 6 months.  They came and replaced the stripping, but made sure to inform me it was only as a favor because weather stripping is not part of the warranty.  The weather stripping ripped again in exactly the same places about a month after the repair, but I never followed up a second time because I had been informed it is not part of the warranty.  Now (February 2021) the levered door handle that Washington Energy sold me and installed just over two years ago is not working properly.  I called and asked if the door handle was covered under the Lifetime warranty.  I was told no, I would have to pay $134 for them to even look at it.  I could have paid about 1/3 what I paid for this door and installation at Lowes, but I thought I might get what I paid for with a more expensive door and installation job.  I'll know better next time.

PSE sent Washington Energy Services as one referral for a company that does heat pump installations. They were prompt to call and schedule an appointment to have an estimator come out, which was great. The estimator came, we talked through several different options, and agreed that a 3 unit + heat pump was the best solution. The estimate came the next day for over $15,000 after over $3k in rebates, and for 4 units. I responded and reminded we were only planning on 3 units and asked if I could see an itemization of the estimate. He was quick to respond with a new estimate, this time almost $16k after rebates, for one less unit. I asked if it was correct that a unit less could actually cost more, and he advised there was a copy/paste error on the first estimate and this one was correct... and no itemization was available. Very difficult to understand how/why 3 units would cost that much in comparison to estimates seen online saying average price is $5-$7k (I understand every house differs). I lost all trust in this company before I was even able to do business with them.

I can't say enough about the entire team at Washington Energy Services. From the very beginning of doing business with WAES, that includes a whole condo building window replacement to the windows in my own house, I continued to use WAES with replacing my old water heater with a tankless one. From the first contact with Jennifer and Gary, it has been nothing but pure professionalism and respect from day one. When the guys showed up to install the tankless water heater, they were very respectful of my time and safety. All of them wore their masks and protected the floors in my home and completely cleaned up after themselves. I can't say this loud enough Thank You.

After evaluating multiple providers and bids, I selected WA energy services. Greg Serna, the sales rep, was polite, thorough and stated a 6 to 8 week timeframe to install. At 12 weeks I contacted them to find out status and the initial install was then scheduled a couple of weeks later. This was a large job with 8 windows, 5 of which were large custom picture windows with sliders.

It is now 6 months later, I have spent about 80 hours of my time dealing with 8 separate appointments and 2 windows are still not done. The city permit expired as well!

1 window was fully installed and then inspected and failed as not to code creating another 6 week delay to re-order. When it was reinstalled, they put the night lock on the wrong side. Now that window needs to be re-ordered, and replaced a third time.

Another window was installed but significantly scratched and needs to be removed and replaced. 5 of the 8 night guard locks have failed and have been or will be replaced.

I have had to chase the sales department/manager for resolution and still have not been provided any information or mitigation whatsoever. I keep hearing a blame game about Anderson manufacturing. I really don't care ad the consumer who did what; I hired WA energy to complete this project in a timely and professional manner.

The install team have been great kudos to Joshua, Scott and others. However I am extremely upset about the lack of responsibility and accountability to get this job done right, in a reasonable time frame, and to be proactive with communication and resolution.

I'm at the point where I'm considering going to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office to file complaints. I would've paid more for another company had I known this would be such a mess.

Edit: to include a response to Craig's response below:

Hi Craig,
Thanks very much for your prompt response. I did indeed receive Joshua's voicemail on 5/7 and promptly left him one back that same night. Joshua phoned me back today (5/8) and scheduled for the final work and repairs to be completed on Tuesday 14th.
We are free this week, so I'm unaware of what happened to the apparent availability you have this week, that you mention above?
If the repairs and work are finished on the 14th, this will obviously be over two weeks since the install was originally conducted. Obviously, the ideal solution would be for the install to be defect free during the initial install.

This review is referencing work placed with WES for new windows.
Please think twice before going with WES for your windows!
We received multiple quotes and WES was very competitive, so we decided to go with them.

We did have to clarify a number of points in the contract and have a few amendments made as things we had discussed where not in the original one contract.
Once this was corrected, the order for the windows was placed, two weeks before the original installation was expected to start we were told one of the windows had been made incorrectly and this would delay the install.
Once the incorrectly made window arrived the install started, it took two guys three days (this was for all the windows in the house). I refused to pay the reaming amount until I had inspected the work which WES was fine with (and I highly recommend to everyone to do!)

I found multiple issues with the install, these ranged from basic install quality to damage caused to the siding of the house (listed below)
However what is far worse then all of this is the number of nails, metal pins and a 1 jagged sheet metal cut off, left around the outside of the house. I have two small children and they could have easily stepped on any of these or worse swallowed them.

Currently, the repairs and corrective work have still not been rectified (it's now two weeks since install)

- Lack of sealant between joining window strips.

- Lack of sealant in joints, on nearly every window on the rear of the house outside.

- Damage to the siding. Clearly over-cut for the window. The siding now has a three-inch cut in it that leaves the siding exposed for water egress and the material behind the siding. Further damage, clearly noticed and poorly repaired, siding now exposed to water egress

- Ceiling at bottom of stairs, 1/4 inch gash in the ceiling

- Wall of stairs, 1/4 inch gash in the wall

- The internal structure of windows (x 2) not cut at 90 angles)

I have been using the products and services of Washington Energy Services for over 20 years such as windows, gas furnace, gas hot water heater and fire place. They also maintained all the equipment and were always excellent and professional in every way. Only twice was I enticed to use another company and had drastic results and will never do it again. A highly recommended company from one of those lists came out for a quick fix to the furnace and told us the only way to fix it was to buy a new one. Then while a major remodel was taking place the contractor offered to replace the hot water heater and put the wrong one in which was emitting carbon monoxide. So always from now on Washington Energy Services is the only one I will call.

I ended up calling Washington Energy Services out immediately and they fixed the problems cause by these other careless places.

I know Washington Energy Service deserves at least 5 stars for the service their staff provides. The estimator, Christy Piscitelli, was very thorough with her evaluation of the system I wanted and ensured that all the bases were covered. The staff did all the background work; all I had to do was do they asked. The installation was performed by technicians John and Hector (sorry no last names). The installation was complicated, but the team was focused to complete their assignment. John and Hector were very informative and were happy to answer questions. Washington Energy Services is over the top.

I had a pretty frustrating experience with Washington Energy Services. We called in early August to get a quote for 4 new windows. The sales rep came out to measure and told us that we didn't actually need new windows; just new glass and that would be much cheaper. Ok, great! We had budgeted for full new windows, but saving some cash is always nice. So I pressed go, paid a $1,000 deposit and scheduled the window service for February. Time passes, then in November, out of the blue, I get a $1,000 refund from WES back to my card without any explanation: no call, no email. This was Friday at like 4:55pm, so I called quickly before they closed only to be told that they don't do glass replacement, only full windows. They were cancelling my service. This was all presented in a way that was clearly telling me to just buzz off and leave them alone like I was looking for a cheap fix and they weren't going to work with the likes of me. I was pretty flabbergasted! I still needed new windows so I asked to talk to someone who could give me a quote for what I had originally asked for, another sales guy followed up in December....it's now January and I've been totally ghosted, like NO communication.   6 months of wasted time with this company and back to square one: calling window companies for an estimate.   I've never encountered a business that was so unwilling to do business...and kind of treated me like I was a cheapskate along the way.

I have changed my one star rating to a 5.  Soon after I posted the review, the manager, Craig, responded and said WES would take care of the furnace maintenance charge.  Someone came out today and completed the service.  We will continue to call them for the annual checkup.  Thanks to all at Washington Energy Services, fabulous customer service which is hard to find these days.

Honest and helpful. I have a problem with my heat pump. I called Washington Energy Services. The solution was going to be expensive. I approved it. When the technician got back I got a call from the service adviser who recommended I try the company that installed it and that I might be able to save some money by a warranty adjustment. He even looked up the phone number for me to call. They could have just gone ahead and done the work but went way above and beyond.
Thank you Josh.

washington energy services / plumbing . i wanted an estimate on two
bathtub remodels in late 2017. iam late in writing this review because i have been stewing over this for awhile and lost $100.00. its not the money per say(although i would love to have it back hint hint) it is the principle of good business practices.

technician by the last name rios came out on time last year, scribled
some notes down and said he would produce an estimate. well its
may 2018 and i did not get an estimate of work.

the kicker is this: when we made our appointment the appointment maker
did not mention a 100.00 dollar estimate. mr.rios had told us after the fact
he would charge this.
i couldnt let this go unchecked . i think wes wanted this to happen because hey 100 dollars times 10 customers who dont report this is
1000.00 in their pocket.
later days washington energy services.

Customer loyalty is not something they seem to care about at Washington Energy Services. Our furnace, which was installed by WES five years ago, stopped working over Christmas weekend. It has been in the 30s and low 40s in Seattle and is expected to drop to the 20s this week. Last night was very, very cold in our 1924-built house. Brrrrrrrr.

My husband called WES first thing this morning, and after waiting on hold for 15 minutes, was told they couldn't come for a month to repair it. A MONTH. Husband asked if they offered any emergency repair services and was told no.

I called again about an hour later and waited on hold for another 20 minutes. I explained to the receptionist that we purchased our furnace from WES and that it seemed insane that we would have to wait a month. It took her 15 minutes just to look for our information - despite us having spent thousands on a new furnace from WES, they had no record of us apparently.

The receptionist finally got back on the line and told me the soonest they could get here would be three weeks from now. She asked if we had an alternative-heating source, because everyone knows that space heaters are an efficient and safe way to heat an old house for a month in the dead of winter. Not until I expressed how dissatisfied I was did she say that they offered an emergency repair service for an extra hundred. Tacked on last minute that sure felt like a scam.

I declined their ridiculous appointment offer and called another repair service with high ratings. Talk about a night and day difference. The receptionist at this place was extremely helpful and seemed shocked when I told her about the wait at WES - even more so when I mentioned the $100 emergency fee. She booked us a repair tomorrow morning and apologized profusely that she couldn't get us in today. Assuming this place does a good job, we will sign up for a yearly maintenance program with them because I'm done with WES.

So, TL;DR, take your business elsewhere. While WES was very helpful when we were purchasing and spending a lot of money, they pretty much have sucked since then. If you look through the disparate Yelp reviews for WES, you'll see this is a recurring theme: five stars for purchases, one or two stars for service after that. Another experience worth mentioning: When WES put in our furnace, they installed a new chimney liner. The cheap and ugly PVC piping they used is very visible coming out of our chimney on the roof and seriously detracts from our home's curb appeal. When I asked if there was anything that could be done to hide it, they shrugged like they didn't give a you know what. That response pretty much sums up my experience with WES.

We are thrilled with our new Bryant furnace and A/C! I met with 3 separate companies to do an energy assessment and give me options/proposals and selected Washington Energy Services to do the work. We wanted to replace our 34 year old gas furnace with a more energy efficient unit - and I wanted to add air conditioning. Getting proposals from 3 companies afforded me a competitive advantage, and I am satisfied with the price we paid.

Tristan, the Home Energy Specialist, was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and responsive; he gave me 3 proposals with varying equipment choices, and he responded quickly to my many follow-up questions as I was deciding which company and which equipment option. The front office was responsive to challenging schedule needs to ensure the duct cleaning was done in advance and to have the new equipment installed when we would both be home - and prior to the end of September.

Ron K. did the duct cleaning prior to our install. He did a great job, too. We had to get a bit creative on where to secure my 3 cats during the cleaning - he did not view this as an inconvenience at all. He explained the process and showed me the yuck that came out of the ducts!

The install team - Chris S., Ed C., (and Kyle on day one) did not disappoint. It's a 64 year old home, and when the furnace was converted to gas from oil 34 years ago they did some strange things. Chris was great at problem solving, and the sheet metal he fabricated looks perfect. They also hit a snag with an angle issue with the A/C install and came up with a good solution. It took 2 long days to finish, but even so Chris ensured he answered all our questions, demonstrated the equipment and helped us program the new thermostat.

The city inspectors (Refrigerant, Mechanical and Electrical) were here yesterday and found no issues. I am very pleased with the results and this comfort investment in my home. It surprises me to see not everyone has the same experience as we did. We would recommend Washington Energy Services to family and friends - everything went very well.

I recently moved into a new home and realized that the ducts were filthy and that the furnace had no record of being serviced since it was installed 4 years ago. I called WES and spoke to a very polite and knowledgeable woman named Kelly who told me she could schedule one appointment to have my ducts cleaned and the furnace tuned up at the same time, which the other two companies I spoke couldn't do. She was able to set the appointment for the exact date and time frame I was looking for. I received a confirmation email shortly after. The day of my appointment I received a call from the technician saying he would be arriving within a half hour. Pat Carr and his assistant Jacob arrived right on time. They greeted me and before entering my home they put on shoe covers, which I really appreciated. Pat walked me through the whole process of what they needed to do and let me know it would take about 2 hours to complete. Once my filthy ducts were all cleaned they went to work on my furnace which included removing the blower motor and pressure washing it. Pat did an excellent job coaching Jacob every step of the and they worked very efficiently. After they were done and everything was put back together Jacob went around to my heat registers in my return air vents and checked the temperatures with a heat gun to ensure that everything was running properly. I thought this was a great way to show that the system was running as well as it could. Pat was able to run my payment on the spot and I received my receipt via email within 30 seconds. I really couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everyone at WES definitely went above and beyond but made it seem like that's just business as usual for them. I'll definitely be recommending them to others. Thanks Washington Energy Services!

Terrible service.  Warranty for water heater was with them, they sent someone out to evaluate problem.  The person they sent out did nothing, NOTHING. Didn't take any diagnostics like the form states they should.  They only suggested a water pressure reducer, which I did not need.  Supervisor agreed that the person they sent out failed to do their job, yet they did not refund $100 charge.  Ended up buying new water heater through someone else, Washington Energy Services was too much of a hassle.

I just had two gas fireplace inserts installed by Ted, Ebby, Rock and Abraham of Washington Energy Services in my West Seattle home. The team arrived on time and worked into overtime to complete the job. It turned out to be more complicated than the salesman had discussed with me, yet these guys figured out what needed to be done and did it! They were friendly, professional, focused and experienced. I trust their knowledge and ability. That means a lot to me.

Same issue as most of other reviewers - Cancelled the appointment without even telling me or confirming. Had to call them to see where the tech was since I had been waiting. They're trying to push to after hours emergency calls it seems which makes them more money. Terribly disappointing.... I did use the after hours emergency service once and they resolved the issue but it cost a lot ($350) and took a long time before tech came out... I bought a house which has a system installed by them so hence I was using them but I will try and find a more reliable service.

I got a estimate from WES for installing ductless heating and cooling units. At first they seemed great. The agent showed up exactly on time, put on booties to respect my house, walked me through the options available.

After I had some other agents out to get other estimates, I realized some weak points.

1. I mentioned that I needed financing, so the solution they came up with was a cheap solution, rather than getting the right solution and giving me the financing options. A lot of times it would seem that upselling is a negative thing, but he failed to help me fully understand my needs.

2. More than 50% of the time was spent presenting the background for the company, how they only use licensed employees, how they pull permits, etc. However, I realized that almost every company does this, and just mentioning that they meet the bar would have been sufficient.

3. After I got a more complete picture of what I needed at my house, I emailed my agent again for a new estimate for the whole package. He never got back to me, so I went with Greenwood Heating and AC.

I have had nothing but trouble from the moment I signed on with these guys. I gave them the job to do my windows and install a new heat pump and furnace. I ordered at the end of June and the final window went in on 11/29/17. My calls went unanswered until I threatened to obtain a lawyer. I'm still having trouble getting heat in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Of course since it was the original duct work it's not their issue. Issues I had ranged from ordering the wrong size custom window twice, they shattered the outside pane in my slider and broke my garage door by leaving lumber underneath it. Oh they sent me a gift card for my trouble. I just want my stuff to work as advertised. I never judge a company by mistakes they make it's in how the correct them. So in this case they failed miserably.

I am very pleased the way WES handled my complaint. The sales manager reached out to me and after listening to my concerns  we came to an agreement that made both of us happy. It's nice to see a company that cares about their customers and willing to go out of their way and make things right. Because of the great customer service I will definitely do business with this company again. I am happily enjoying my new AC unit.

Immense frustration when dealing with WES. They installed an AC & Immediately it wasn't working properly, and after battling with many service calls over several weeks at my expense, trying to figure out what the issue was, finally I suggested the wiring wasn't right and pushed the service manager to send out an electrician, sure enough the electrician came back from surveying it white faced & told me to not run the system until they could replace the wiring, as it would be dangerous. I asked why the original electrician made such a huge mistake & he said they weren't properly trained! They came & replaced the wiring, at no cost. I didn't ask them to refund the several service calls, I could of but didn't.
So I'm a bit cautious of WES but, It's been a few years since then & recently I paid over $400 to have my AC & heating maintenance by WES. There was no issues, just getting ready for the summers  heat. About a month later the AC isn't cooling like it should, and it hadn't even really gotten that hot yet. So I Called WES to come look, reminding them that they had just been here and did maintenance, they sent someone out a couple of days later, making no mention of charging me, why would they, they had just done $400 worth of Maintenance, right!? So the guy arrives, goes to the a/c unit and measures the output & informs me he thinks I have a leak in the line that runs under the house. (But didn't actually go under the house to look, cause that's not his job.) What? Then He says I need to pay $100 before He checks anything else. My husband told him to leave. He spent all of 15 mint our house. I call to talk with a service manager & point out to them that they told me they guarantee this work when they do a Maintenance. I expect them to follow through with that & figure out why my AC isn't working! I'm not looking for a freebee! Just holding them accountable to their word! Finally he agrees, sends a guy out, again he checks the unit in the back yard, checks the rest in the garage. Informs my husband that he put a little more coolant in, but there must be a leak. But he can't look cause it's not his job, we need to pay close to $2000 to have someone come out & look! Oh and he finishes telling us since he's proven it's not their fault, he expects us to pay $100, after being their about 15 min. My husband says pay the guy, get him out of here & call a different company. So we called a different company, they came out for $200, spent over an hour going through everything, and then informs me, when WES maintenance the  unit they never filled it completely with coolant. So he has he topped it off & and could find nothing else wrong. He did not go under the house looking for a leak because he said within two weeks if it's not working properly then it is definitely a leak & then someone can go under the house to fix it. He highly doubted though that there was a leak.
So, I am writing this review 4 months after this other company was here,  the entire summer has passed... guess what, our AC has run PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!!!! So what conclusion can I draw from this. WES doesn't fill with coolant all the way so they can charge $2000 to come check for a leak...  beware of WES buyer beware!

I'd love to be able to say that all went well with Washington Energy Services, because the end result in our home seems to be working quite well.  But, unfortunately I can't do that.

When it came time to replace the existing (and defective) hydronic heating system in our home, we knew that the best, and likely only, option was to go with a ductless heat pump.  We asked for bids from five companies and selected Washington Energy Services for a combination of reasons:

1) Price.  They came in at the lowest price.  We would easily have considered a 2nd or 3rd lowest price option, so while important, this wasn't a deciding factor.

2) Options.  WES was the only contractor that provided us with three options for the new equipment (they labeled them Good, Better and Best, with corresponding increases in price).  We liked that.

3) Timeliness.  Charles, the sales guy from WES, promised to get us the bid quickly, and he did.  Some others took noticeably longer, and we take the efficiency with which a company can provide an accurate quote to be indicative of the quality of the company.  In fact, months later, we're still awaiting a reply from one of the five companies we'd asked to provide a quote.

4) Completeness of bid.  WES's quote included absolutely everything.  We liked that.  Some others did not.

5) Experience decommissioning the old, faulty, system.  They've done it plenty of times before.  One of the other companies hadn't ever heard of it.

THE GOOD

We really like the new Fujitsu ductless heat pump they recommended and installed.  We haven't had a chance to try out the A/C settings yet, but it does heat the house nicely.

Everybody at WES with whom we dealt on this project was pleasant, polite and professional.  Very, very nice people -- even to the point of asking if it was OK to use the bathroom in our home when they were there for a very long day of installation.

They cleaned everything up very nicely when they left.

But, then. . .

THE NOT SO GOOD

This was quoted as a one-day, fixed cost, job.  It wasn't even remotely one.  The install crew had to come back for about five hours on the second day to complete the project.  Fortunately we'd scheduled the install for a Friday, so the second day was a Saturday and we had the flexibility to be home that day.  And, yes, the lead installer was VERY nice about explaining the situation to us, but they were nowhere near done by the end of the first day.  Yes, since it was fixed cost, there wasn't a single penny more that we owed, but the timing was way off.

They used our neighbor's outdoor outlet to power their tools without asking.  That's a no-no.

Their subcontracted electrician obviously didn't work for them, as he didn't have the same type of gracious personna as everybody from WES.  He got the job done, but he also parked his van in our neighbor's private parking space.  I doubt that he'd like it if we parked in his driveway. (BTW, the WES guys very nicely asked if they could park in our private spot.  Of course they could!  Because they asked.)

But, the most egregious issue was that they didn't even apply for the mechanical permit for the job until AFTER the job was complete.  When I noticed this and called our primary contact to ask about the issue, he just sort of gave me a mumbling reply.  He knew it wasn't right; I'm not a contractor, but I know it wasn't right.  If an inspector had come by, there would have been issues, obviously.  Yes, I know that had there been issues that WES would have handled them professionally and I wouldn't have been on the hook for any money, but you don't do this.

NEITHER GOOD NOR BAD

It took many weeks after signing our contract to get on their schedule.  From our perspective, this was a negative (because it was getting cold and we didn't have heat!), but one could look at the inverse and also say that because WES is good at what they do and do it at a fair price they're very popular.

IN CONCLUSION

Would we use WES again for a project of this nature?  Almost definitely.  We're pleased with the finished product, and much of the path that got us here was great.  And I know that they're going to read this, reply and address the issues, so I really don't have qualms about that.

Read your contract AND ask your salesman.  We have been long Washington Energy customers and decided to purchase a gas insert and water heater.  Close to $8500. We were talked to having it financed at a low interest rate. We were going to pay it off within a year.  Well, we were just about to sign final paperwork for a reverse mortgage to find out the credit union, Salal Credit Union, put a lien on our house!  This was not disclosed to us during the sale, in fact if it was we would not have made the purchase.  So now we have to payoff the loan for the reverse mortgage to be finalized.  Lesson learned. Before signing anything have them leave the paperwork and take it to an attorney or take you time and read everything, even the fine print!

They overcharged us and did somewhat shoddy work. This was a repipe. Instead of going through the wall (which would be harder work) they drilled huge holes right into the floor behind the sink and toilet! Try re-flooring that room! Even though I paid extra for them to change it back I did not catch the toilet until this week. They did come out to fix something that was leaking into our new cabinets but I have to say I made a mistake using this company. When using plumbers, remember that almost all of them are on commission and will fluff the bill as far and high as they can.

Such polarizing reviews for this place.

This would've been a 4 or 5 star review, but here is why it's not...3 isn't bad and it's definitely better than the 1 star reviews I've seen for this operation.

We used WES because prior to WES, our home had been serviced by another company that was clearly bought out by WES. We called the number on the furnace when our forced air cooling pump wasn't cooling the way it should be.

There was a $99 service charge to come out on Saturday of this past Memorial Day Weekend...the guy was nice and told us what we'd need...and that he didn't have a start capacitor in his truck. We were told we'd receive a call on Tuesday from someone to schedule an appointment. We were cool with that. We paid the service charge, which ended up being being $108 and some change.

Tuesday came and I hadn't heard from anyone so I called and was able to schedule an appointment for Friday. Friday rolled around and the poor guy who showed up here...was not given the correct part, even though on the prior invoice it clearly said start capacitor. There were a couple of other things wrong with our cooling pump thanks to the prior owners who wanted to save a couple of bucks. I hate that, by the way. Pay up front now and not have to worry about it going wrong later. Bypassing stuff is NOT GOOD.

I got a call shortly saying they will be back on Monday, but thanks to the prior owners bypassing stuff, things had to get replaced and fixed...Poor guy who came out to fix it on Monday with it pissing down rain! He came back with the correct part and was done in a little over an hour.

I am fairly happy with the service they provided despite it taking them 3 visits to complete a repair. Had the repairman been provided with the correct part, it would've saved them a visit.

Would I use WES again? Yes.

Ken Schukar was the Gas Inspection Technician for our new tankless water heater. We found Ken to be cordial, friendly, and professional.

He arrived on time, completed his work, waited for the inspector to arrive, and finished up quickly.

Hopefully any future business with WES will go as well as this one did.

A friend from my office highly recommended Washington Energy Services after she had some work done.
I reached out to Todd Brown in sales and he quoted our
new windows in a few different brands for cost and quality comparison, he also provided physical samples for our HOA approval which was terrific. Due to prior bad experience with a different window company my wife and I were a little apprehensive since we were unsure how things would go but when their installers, (Brian Luttrell, LP and Matt) came out to do the work we were relieved. Their high level of preparation, organization and workmanship was top notch with excellent attention to details and they always cleaned up meticulously afterwards. One window was back ordered but once it came in they sent out the same crew to wrap things up which was much appreciated. Afterwards they did an energy audit to expose some flaws in our home insulation and some large air openings wasting lots of energy and money per year, when all was said and done we upgraded air duct insulation, attic insulation and sealed up those cracks that were robbing energy from our 1983 home. A great overall experience and much more comfortable home now...

Use any other company.  I did so much research before converting my house from oil to gas, and I used them for my new furnace. That was 3 years ago.  The furnace breaks ever single winter.  Every single winter since I have had this thing there is a morning where I wake up and the house is freezing and I have to call their emergency line (no one ever answers and it takes multiple calls over many hours to get a response, if you even get a response).  I then have to worry about my pipes freezing and get told on the phone it will be $199 to come out and fix the brand new furnace that breaks every single year.

Yesterday, I went through the same motions.  Woke up at 5:45 to an upset dog, realizing he was freezing, it was 50 degrees inside, 25 outside.  Called the emergency line, left a message.  Called 3 more times.  Called the company at 8 AM when they opened and said I needed a repair (keep in mind I have a job I have to be at).  After an argument about paying $199 to have someone fix the same thing that breaks every year, I asked to speak to a manager.  I was told a manager would call be back.  I called 4 more times throughout the day and was told a manager would get a hold of me.  This has yet to happen.  I was told a repair man could come by, but it could be any time between 8 and 6, so basically my only option is to loose an entire day of work so my pipes don't freeze overnight.

A very nice repair man called and agreed that he wouldn't be able to fix the underlying issue on a quick emergency visit, so we made a temporary fix that involved cutting piping and having water drain into buckets in my laundry room.  The laundry room is now a complete mess and it will remain like this, for THREE weeks, until they can get someone here to fix the shitty instal they did they first time.  The repair man was the only person who was helpful through this ordeal.  He even gave me his cell and because he could sense my frustration that no one returns my calls.  Not the emergency line.  Not the manager.

If I had to do it all again, I would choose a different company.

Always get second opinions.

We have a gas fireplace that needed serviced.  First company wanted to make all kinds of repairs/replacements and would've cost $1,500+.

We called WES out and our technician was Jesse.   He was very Professionally and did a great job.  Deep cleaning and all good to go.  $100.

We've had similar experience with WES in the past too.

I had WES come out to give me an estimate to install a ductless heat/air system into my 1922 home. Michael Christ was thorough and friendly, and offered some other ideas I had not considered. He spend a great deal of time trying to find out if I would qualify for rebates. The estimate was several thousands of dollars more than I had expected after I had been researching systems on line. I am still receiving estimates and have not decided on a company. But I was impress with the professionalism. If I do decide on WES, I will update my review. Until then, I recommend giving them a chance to do business with you.

Had an emergency visit from them in January. Tech stated that my furnace had a defect or improper installation (washington energy did the install) Service Manager was supposed to get back to me with a solution. Buyer beware!  This company is unethical.do not use this company . We had an issue with our gas fireplace not igniting .  Long story short, The tech ended up making the problem worse and broke the main igniter control . He went outside to make a call and  came back telling me it will be an additional $280 to fix the problem after spending $100 for the initial call . He wouldn't share what the issue was but said it would be $280.  Fast forward, we ended up needing a new board which was $69 and my handyman helped replace it . AMEX was nice enough to refund my money.

WA Energy Services custom-ordered and installed two arch top windows today. Gerardo and Joe, the installers, did an excellent job from set up to clean up. They went the extra mile to ensure the plank was set up so it wouldn't damage my newer composite roof and the job was done to an excellent standard.

Gerardo and Joe found extra rot from years of water damage which they skillfully tore out and replaced with new lumber (at a very reasonable price/foot). This was a surprise, but is now done right for sure.

The craftsmanship and finish carpentry work of Gerardo and Joe was equally excellent as they made sure the windows were installed perfectly and ready for exterior pain.

I have already referred WA Energy Services to a colleague at work who needs all his home's windows replaced, and I'll definitely look up WA Energy Services for my next home remodel or repair.

Thanks to Gerardo and Joe!

7/2/2019: GREAT EXPERIENCE! This company gave me a 10 star service. Starting with Brian S. in sales who was very knowledgeable, professional, personable, no pressure sales and went above and beyond his position. Jason who kept in contact with me and updated me throughout the order process and install date which I truly appreciated. Anthony and Rafael did an excellent job with the installation. They installed 13 windows and 1 patio door. They had complete respect for my home and flowerbeds that they worked in and the cleanup was like they weren't even there. Kudos for the hard work they put in and it all looks AMAZING! I will definitely use Washington Energy Services for my future needs.

I did a lot of research when looking for replacement windows as it was a significant investment in our condo ($35,000).  Salesman came out right away, showed all the options and manufacturers available.  We made our selections, they came out to measure, collect the deposit and get them ordered.  12 weeks later they were in and contacted me and scheduled a week for the install.  They were installed in August 2016.  4 sliding glass doors and 5 solid floor to ceiling panes, double pane, Low E-2, wooden from Anderson Windows.  At install they found they ordered one of the screen doors in the wrong size and would re-order it.  I paid them in full upon installation completion.  In December 2016 I contacted my sales rep because all 4 of the sliding glass doors were leaking air, plus still didn't have a screen although in winter wasn't a big concern.  This was evident in winter with wind and cold air, you could literally hear and feel the air blowing in top to bottom.  It took multiple phone calls to get anyone to respond, the sales rep said he reported it and assumed they had followed through.  Nothing.  I waited again, it took until fall 2017 (countless phone calls by me) for someone from WES to come and even look at it (my last text message said I was hiring an attorney).  He agreed, yeah something isn't right, he observed and felt the leaking air.  But good news, he brought my replacement screen, yeah 1 year after the install.  Guess what?  They re-ordered the same wrong size.  He said he thought it was a manufacturing issue with the windows and referred it to Anderson and would re-re-order the screen.

Anderson has been responsive to work with.  They came out, mentioned that installation was done correctly.  Each of the 4 sliding glass doors locked in a different position, which he fixed (they are all in the same room).  He ordered some parts to fix the problem with the leaking air and scheduled a time in February of this year to fix them.  Which they did and they aren't leaking any longer.  He also said he would follow up on the screen door.  Note that I went through most of 2 winters with leaking windows and my power bills were more than my previous single pane windows.  Still don't have a proper size screen door, so can't open that slider for fresh air on nice days.

Originally was going to wait until it was all fixed to write my review, but my patience as I look outside at the blue skies and reminder I can't let the breeze in is just irritating.

Hindsight, I would have gone directly with Anderson windows and cut this middle man out of the picture.  What was I thinking???

Never again and I do NOT recommend them.  They have lied about leaving messages I never got and I have excessive heating bills and still no screen door.  I can't believe the owner(s) of WES are aware of this shoddy treatment, I have been nothing but nice to them, not a teller screamer type of person.

I had a strange experience with this company..
I needed a new hot water tank because mine was old and started leaking.
I went with WES because my neighbor who lives in a townhome similar to mines, said they did a good job and they even pointed out a flaw in how his old water heater system was put in. I thought to myself, I want to try these guys, they notice things that are wrong even if they didn't install it.....
I had about 6-7 different visits from WES with different guys most the time, each time the next tech would badmouth the other...First duo claimed that the original installer did a bad job and they were going to do the install right. Well, they arrived two hours late, I had to leave my door unlocked to let them in while I went to work already late. They call me to tell me they're all done but there's discrepancy about whether they had replaced one on my circulating pumps ( they said it needed to be replaced based simply on the noise they heard, no inspection, and part costed 500) ( air/dirt can also cause noises but they went straight to must replace) AND their golden boy plumber, Russ, left the main hose from my washing machine out. I got to find out when I washed an extra load of clothes and my floor was flooded. (LAME LAME LAME)
Now, all should be better now and I should have a fancy high end hot water tank and having glorious hot water showers, right? WRONG.
My hot water got less and less until my family and I had to take cold showers. :'-( WES came by for the 4th, 5th? time and this time they say it's the check valve, and that this tech ( not golden boy) said, well, I would have changed it if I did the install..wtf?? But then he says its possibly my shower valves themselves and he could go change those first and see. ( more $$) but I'm thinking to myself, dude, I have no hot water coming out of nothing, not just my showers. Also, I still hear that noise that they supposedly fixed by replacing one of the pumps, this tech Todd, says it's because the OTHER pump needs to be replaced now, too. ( say wha???) SO, I send him away and contact a few other plumbers about my situation and they all say, tell WES, I bought an expensive hot water tank from you, I want hot water, fix it.
I email the manager, Steve, and he sends out golden boy and he replaces the check valve and knock on wood, I have had hot water for about two weeks now.

I give two stars because Steve is an excellent communicator, he took the $500 off the supposed replaced circulating pump, and 20 % off my bill but hot damn, this was a complete headache circus and I wasted so much of my time, days off, and have lost so much faith in humankind. I feel like they pray on those that don't know better and that's just not ok.

I first signed a contract for windows with these guys in late March.  It's now nearly August and the job is *almost* done.  It took four weeks to get a replacement screen when one was forgotten at the factory, and one of the windows now needs new balancers, otherwise it won't stay open, because they put the wrong ones in.  I fully expect it to take another month to get that fixed.  Don't expect clear communication, or prompt answers to calls, and watch out for hidden charges being slipped into the loan after you've already signed up for the job.  Also the windows manufacturer, Coeur d'Alene, is just plain sloppy - the glass is beautiful but the frames look SO cheap.  If I had it to do all over again, I'd go with someone else.

WES installed an air conditioner last week. They underbid a competitor by close to $1000 even with a more efficient unit. The installers were professional, pleasant and I trust that they knew what they were doing. The installation passed the required inspections. Being that hot weather is a ways off, it will be a while before I know how well it operates.

I've purchased doors, a furnace, and an air conditioning condenser unit from WES.  For the most part, they've been great.  There was a time, in 2014 when no one would return my calls, so I had to call another company to service my furnace, but WES got their act together and have provided prompt service since.

My issue is with their furnace filter 'program'.  I have a non-standard filter, so WES is about the only place to purchase one.  If you sign up for the one-year program, you pay for TWO filters immediately.  You don't get TWO filters immediately, you only get one, then they mail you the second about six months later. I called today to schedule a maintenance call for my furnace/air conditioner and asked if I could buy TWO furnace filters at once at the 'program' price and have the technician bring them both with him/her.  I was told No, you must sign up for the program to get the program price!  The person I spoke with said it was more convenient for THEM.  Really, for THEM?  I'm the customer. I don't have ANYTHING delivered to my front door because I don't want anything stolen, so I have to have it delivered to my office.  I doubt I'll be working at the same place in six months, so that just doesn't work for me.

I'm willing to pay for two filters at once, but at the 'program' price.  What is so difficult about that.

I guess I need to do more research to find a different source for my filters in the future.

Shockingly bad service!
I had WA Energy Service out yesterday to have my ducts cleaned. The initial visit went well and the service technician was polite and performed the required work quickly. However, immediately following the service it was clear that air was no longer blowing out of my vents despite the furnace running. I called WA Energy Service assuming something did not get  hooked back up correctly, only to be told it would be a minimum of $199 for an unscheduled appt. and I would need to verify that I'd pay for it before they'd come back out. After explaining the problem again, assuming they may not have understood, they reiterated that either I'd need to agree to pay or they wouldn't be able to schedule anyone. Good initial service, poor follow up and commitment to stand behind their work.

I had a ductless heat pump system installed in my house.  I was very impressed with this company from the start.  The sales rep Charles came to my house and was very friendly and informative.  I could tell he was going out of his way to try and get me the best deal he could for me.  When I had questions later, he got right back to me.  The installers were also very friendly and professional.  The lead installer, Carlos (who looks just like Seth Rogen!) Was always on the site and kept me informed the whole time.  He was went out of his way to make sure I was okay with everything that was happening inside and outside the house.  The installation went way faster than I thought it would.  I could not have asked for a better experience.  I truly recommend these guys.  They clearly all get along, enjoy what they do and are very good at it.  These are the signs of a good company that treats its employees well.  Thank you WES.

We had an air conditioner and automatic generator installed.  It required 3 days of work.  David, a Wash. Energy Specialist, presented different options to us and explained the difference of each unit to help us decide which one would be the best choice for our home.  He was very knowledgeable of the equipment.  Chris and Carlos were the installers.  They really did a nice job, explained everything what was going on, and really kept things nice and clean throughout the process.  And we received the same courtesy with the electrician as well.  I haven't had to call customer service yet for anything, but hopefully they'll be as thorough and friendly as these guys were.  Thank you!

Sigh.....2 weeks, several phone calls, no response. Somehow my 15 minute repair has turned into 5 hours, and they can't tell me WHEN the parts will arrive. The Technician was great; he explained everything, showed me the problem (I crawled under the house with him) and said it was an easy fix; said they would give me a call with details. Whomever They are, they aren't doing a very good job of follow-up. Glad the weather is staying warm! I can't heat the whole house with the OVEN.

a technician came out to service my fireplace, after he left the fireplace was not functioning correctly. I called them back to redo the service  and scheduled a return visit on 12/24, they could not make the time scheduled so I rescheduled for 1/7, the technician did not seem to be knowledgeable in servicing the fireplace and asked me if I had the owners manual. He spend at least 30 minutes on the internet trying to find instructions for the stove. then he told the fireplace has to be turned off for at least four hours. So now I have to take off a 4th day from work to try to have the fireplace service properly. I requested a refund and told them I would just call another company but the refused and insisted that they would fix the problem. I will update after they come back for the 4th time.

I called WES to give me a quote on a new gas boiler for my home and to install additional hydronic heating in the lower section of my house. They gave me a very competitive bid (not the cheapest, not the most expensive) but I was impressed with their knowledge of the systems -- and the fact that a previous incarnation of their company installed the prior system (which had kicked it for over 30 years) was a bonus. When they arrived to install the heating system they were fast and thorough. The lead technician, Erik, was clearly a pro at installing both boilers and hydronic heat. Since they've gone I've had two contractors who have seen the system comment on how nicely done everything was. They were minimally invasive during the installation, and while some cutting into drywall was necessary, they went out of their way to ensure that the wood paneling in our house, which would have been very difficult to patch, wasn't affected. The sizing of all the heat and the rooms has been perfect. They have been responsive to addition questions I've had about the system, and have helped to make our home so much cozier. As someone who has had a few bad experiences with contractors since arriving in Seattle, working with WES was a breath of fresh air. I think if you're going to have hydronic heat replaced (I still think it's the best heat!) I don't think you need to look anywhere else. Erik, and the entire crew, including Rigo, John(Joe), Scott and several others who came through, were just amazing (sorry I may have gotten the names other than Erik and Rigo wrong). They kept the worksite clean, their work was immaculate. I'd use them again and recommend them to anyone.

New furnace and A/C unit installed. Year 1 tune up revealed a faulty TXV valve and no leak in system. Year 2 tune up revealed that all the refrigerant had leaked from the system. Cause? They say a bad evaporator coil. TXV valve connects to coil. Labor is not covered. 900 dollars to fix. Was told they would come out and fill system until part came in so we could use and tech decided why bother since it's going to leak out anyways...Will never use Wash Energy for any other upgrades. Terrible customer service.

My installer was Anthony and Saul. I had my old front door of 14 years replaced with a beautiful mostly glass door, my sliding patio doors replaced with French doors with the screens in them, my horrible three living room windows replaced with a huge beautiful bay window and my tiny window in the master bathroom replaced with an obscured window twice it's size. Anthony's crew was awesome!! Very professional and courteous. I have some more things that I'm going to get changed in my home and instead of going to L's or HD, I will definitely be calling Washington Energy Services again and hopefully we can get Anthony and Saul again. If you need updates or upgrades done, they're the crew to have and this is the company to use. Thanks guys for making our dreams a reality.

I don't recommend them at all. The only good part was initial phone call when I was explaining what the leaking water heater problem was and making the initial appointment. It all went downhill from there. When they came the first time, it went fine but wasn't great. Second time they visited, they had really failed at everything. Explaining everything went wrong wasn't good either because they never followed up until it started leaking water everywhere again. Then I really had to follow up. They were going to ignore and forget about me if I didn't contact them. Third time they visited it was alright. Just alright... So overall they failed.I will never call them again and hopefully by writing this, I'll save someone else's time and money.

I repurchased a house recently from a deceased family members estate who had WES out to look at a heat pump.  They spent a considerable amount of money to diagnose it, but never ended up replacing the faulty part.  Move forward 8 months to my purchase.  I called in and asked the history of the pump and diagnoses and since I had the same last name as the deceased family member that had payed for the services, was given the history.  I then asked for an appointment to replace the faulty part.
At this point, they realized their mistake and instead of setting the appointment, said I needed another full diagnostic which could run anywhere from $500 to $2500 and I might want to consider just replacing the system.  I even offered to waive any guarantee the $50 part would fix it.  Nope.  Not going to happen.
So I called another company and asked to specifically replace that part - fixed heat pump!  That was 4 months ago.
WES - you lost another customer.

I had a fireplace serviced and I think Washington Energy Services need to get out of the fireplace business. The worker also did not discount me for military. He lit the pilot and then said the fireplace was broke - and needed a main gas valve and solenoid and to replace the main gas valve. It was going to cost me $800 and he stated I should just buy a new one as these fireplaces are only good for 20-25 years and then break The lady called promptly on Monday to come and give me a free estimate to replace it. I found the manual online, and it is only from 1995, Also the manual suggested I contact my gas provider which I did. He came out this afternoon and lit the fireplace. It works perfectly, from the blower, to the gas valve to the solenoid to the chimney output. It is sad to think of the elderly getting ripped off.

Our experience with WES was flawless.  From the quote process to installation, we were extremely happy.  Our sales rep, Charles Hassa was fantastic in providing several options to fit our budget and needs.  He was responsive when we had questions and arrived on time for all of our appointments. Our install techs, Tim H. and Ebby C. were so helpful, considerate and professional - checking in with us as they determined where to run the lines and helping us determine which options worked best for our home.  We could not be more pleased with our ductless heating and cooling system they installed!

Fast, affordable, friendly! Will use them again.

We have a rental property where the furnace just stopped working over the weekend and our tenants were complaining of the house being cold.

We needed a company to come out right away on a Saturday. I talked to a few other companies and they charged a lot more for emergency services.

Travis came out at 9pm on Saturday night. It was a switch we didn't even know existed that got turned off during our new tenants move-in. He switched it on and everything worked! Cost us $200 but well worth it! Travis was the tech who did this work - he was super nice!

We discovered Washington Energy at the Home Show in Seattle in Feb 2016.  We were impressed with the  ductless heating and cooling system and wanted it for our home.  Jason Larson was an extremely knowledgable, courteous and respectful sales man who came to our home, answered all of our questions and discussed multiple options for paying for the system we wanted.  We were extremely impressed with the level of service we got from him and the timely installation of the system.

Nate and Carlos installed our system in two days and were courteous, respectful of our home and cleaned up prior to leaving and Nate stayed late to answer all of our questions and teach us how to use our new unit.

We are impressed with the level of service we received with Washington Energy and we will definitely be using them again in the future!  Very Satisfied!

WES installed a gas water heater and A/C for us last week, in preparation for the hot summer we are expected to have again. Rick was our salesman and was easy to talk with and answered all of my questions about the process. Nate and Carlos did the installation, they were both nice and professional... clearly very detail oriented. They worked a long day getting everything installed and buttoned up. They didn't skimp in the overview of the installation process and thermostat settings at the end of the day. Unfortunately, the guys did drive over part of our landscaping on their way home in the evening. That said, mistakes happen ... it's how a company responds to those mistakes that really tell you about the culture. They have committed to getting it fixed and that earns them a great rating in my book.

I have been using Washington Energy Services for a number of years, I have always had good results and trust them. Today I had a yearly furnace maintenance done. The office called and said he would be here at 9:30 AM, about 45 minutes later he called and said that he would be 1 hour and 45 minutes later. Still no big deal, it was within the time frame of the original quote. When he got here he immediately changed the furnace filter (not what this company has done in the past), then turned heat up to 78 degrees. I checked on him a couple times (furnace is in the garage). Each time no vacuuming, he was on his phone. I did not see any wires attached. He was done in 1/2 hour. I was shocked because this company usually does a thorough job and always takes 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours to truly clean the furnace. I called the office they said it usually takes one hour or more. I expressed my concerned that this technician was too busy on his phone and the calls sounded personal. The office did not seem concerned and said they back their work. The thing is I know he did not do what other techs have done. I am concerned that my furnace was not cleaned as was a part of the maintenance (which may shorten its life) and may call in another company to check it out. I will most likely be using a different company next year.

WOW!!
I took advantage of a sale on window installations seen in Seattle newspaper,  to call and have an estimate.  This led to a love affair.
As in all affairs, this did come with a few hiccoughs mostly involving getting responses from the scheduler, (expect no updates.  He responds when the order is ready.), a couple of screens being bent and the company, responsible for doors, getting an order wrong.
However, Michael, the salesman, was very attentive to every detail and quite a salesman, The Chris duo, responsible for measuring, double checking their own work and your needs was extremely helpful and gave an extra layer of security that your order would be correct. And the installation team, headed by Brian, I cannot say enough!
Especially the installation team.  They were professional, clean, kept you updated on any need for changes(In my case 2 front entrances that needed adjustments, giving me options and advice), and incredibly light-hearted even under a shortened timeline. They left an very joyous customer and tenant in awe.
The product is great, the team is great and, while the whole timeline is a bit lenghty, 7 weeks, it only took 2 days to get the installation done with little disruption to my daily life.
Big thank you and all deserve a raise!!

WES installed five windows for us.  From the estimate to the installation WES was prompt, straight forward, thorough and professional.  Their warranty meets or beats most window companies out there.  The installers were knowledgeable and clearly qualified for the work they performed.  We love our windows and are so happy with the quality and insulation protection from the heat and cold.
The reason I am giving a four instead of a five is the time that it took from the time we received the quote to the time that the actual windows were installed.

I was really impressed with this company.  The had the best quote on windows and everyone I dealt with was very professional and nice!  There was also an issue with the rebate from PSE--they rejected the application for being late. Washington Energy made sure I received my rebate-just in time for Christmas too!  I think they are a very upstanding company and do good work as well.  My neighbor originally recommended them so she had a good experience also.  I will use them for future upgrades soon--gutters, insulation, etc.

I have done business with Washington Energy Services for many years. It seems like they have changed their Very good customer service to very bad customer service. They are all about earning more money dishonest way.
I had Josh the furnace technician, came in for the annual maintenance work on our furnace.  He immediately told me that our furnace needs blower motor and he discounted the system so we won't have heat.  Josh called later telling me that it will cost $675.00 plus tax to replace the parts. Well, my gut feeling said that I need to get a second opinion on this issue. I called Better Air NW and Rob came in and found out that the issue was Capacitor which is much less expensive than blower motor ($136.00).
I did not appreciate Washington Energy Service's dishonesty and I'm very glad that I called Better Air NW.  BTW, we were without heat for five nights thanks to Washington Energy Services.  Don't do any business with dishonest companies and people. There are lots of honest ones out there. Do your homework first.

This winter my Bryant furnace went out; woke up to a very cold house. I called Washington Energy Services and they sent someone out that day for an extra charge (that was OK). It turns out that a circuit board went out and had to be ordered as it wasn't in stock. The part took three weeks to arrive which is totally unacceptable. Why is it that Amazon can have something delivered in 3 days and something as critical as a part to maintain household heat takes three weeks!!! Was this Bryant's fault, or did WES not understand that this part needed to be shipped ASAP? To top it off, when the part arrived, it was another week before they came out to replace it. Whomever ordered the part:  If it was their house during the middle of sub 30 degree weather, would they have insisted the part be shipped urgently? So we had three space heaters that kept parts of the  house around 50 degrees for a month. Not very happy.
I would have given them only one star, but the technician, Robert, was very kind and knowlegable. Five stars for him. I won't be using their services anymore; look elsewhere for better service.

Washington Energy Services installed a gas-powered tankless water heater to replace an old electric tank heater that was deteriorating from the inside. We had just moved into the house, and we knew our large blended family would probably drain a standard hot water tank regularly, leaving people with cold showers. So we decided to go with a tankless system. We were concerned that it wouldn't be able to keep up with multiple showers, but having lived with the system for over a year it is apparent that Washington Energy Services sized the unit appropriately. We can run two showers and the dishwasher simultaneously. We are very happy with the system.

My AC went out on the hottest day of the year, and I called Washington Energy since they had installed it years earlier.  The repairman found the problem immediately, and fixed it.  I was surprised at some of the negative reviews this company has gotten lately, as my experience with them has been very good.

So 5 years ago we purchased a heat pump and furnace from WES.  It has worked fine, but is louder than we were originally told.  However, I am posting this review based on the actual annual service of the unit.  Over the past 5 years we have had them service the unit and each year we have had scheduling issues, they have left parts out of the unit and never came back to fix the issue and the service reps are rude.  Today's issue focused on my service window from 8 - 11 and the guy just showed up at 1:30.  No discount was offered and limited apologies.  Hence, instead of taking half a day off, I get to take a full day off and work more during the holidays.  I would recommend that you stay away from the service department as their customer service is terrible.  Sorry WES, but you are not going to trick me into thinking it will get any better next year (like the previous 2 years).  STAY AWAY!

Steve Post this as a review:

I was tired of my old eye sore boiler taking up so much space and running
up my gas bill, and decided to replace it.  I had a couple different
companies give me quotes and decided to go with Washington Energy Services.
Their price was lower than most of the proposals.  The new combi-boiler
looks great and very clean looking.  Joe and his helper Tim, did great work.
They are masters of their trade.  For the priced I paid, the quality of
work, and the savings on the bill, I wished I did this a long time ago.
Trust me, this is the way to go and Washington Energy is the one to do it.

Thanks

WARNING!!! DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY!!!!  WES. did our windows and damaged our home, tried to cover it up, and refused to fix and pay for it. The windows leak water through the top and it seems to me just as much air seeps through as our old windows. They also said they would check the gas in the windows and replace if needed over the time of the windows, NOT. They also said it they get broken they would replace them, forever, NOT. In fact, I tried calling several times, left several messages and it took them over 2 weeks to return my call, only to say they don't do that. So that makes them a thief and a liar. I'm only giving a one because I have to give something.

Um, maybe I'm naive, but I figured a company as well regarded as Washington Energy Services would be regarded that way because they deliver reasonable bids... that was very much not my experience. I asked for a bid for blow-in cellulose on my old house. Their super friendly and accommodating salesperson (no sarcasm- he was a great guy) suggested we get an energy audit which made sense to me. After the energy audit (done by another equally friendly guy) I opted to just go with the cellulose as I'd originally planned. They bid seemed high when it came in- I only know this because I've done the job myself before and know it's not rocket science. So I smartly decided to seek out other bids. I was downright SHOCKED to see those numbers come in at literally 1/3 what Washington Energy Services estimated. This company, with a straight face and a lot of emphasis on its drug-free employee policy, tried to pass of a bid TRIPLE of the competitors. I find that downright offensive. How can a company, with a straight face, put a bid that high out there? I guess they assume most people are too busy to look elsewhere... which is my suggestion for you.

Just go somewhere else!  Called them out to repair a gas fireplace.  After a $100 'service call' the tech didn't 'have to part ' to fix the problem.  Called back a week later with an estimate of $550. Outrageous! I fixed it myself with a parts cost of $84.  Nothing but price gouging and contempt for the customer.

We just had a new hot water heater and high efficiency gas furnace installed by Washington Energy Service. Our basement had a tight work space and the high energy furnace required new ducting, including going to the outside of the house. The crew, Adan Alvarez (leader), Roman, Ed, and Donald, were amazing. They showed up on time, worked tirelessly, and installed everything perfectly. They cleaned up and they removed shoes if they had to come to talk to me. After they worked for TWELVE hours installing everything, they tested the systems and took time to explain everything to me and show me their work. I honestly am impressed with this crew. Brian Youngdahl, the man from WES who sold me the units, was also incredible. He did not pressure me and helped me think through options with no hard sell.   I highly recommend these guys.

I called to achedule an appointment for air conditioning installation quote, and was given an appointment for the very next day. Just about an hour later i received a call and was told that the technician cannot make to the scheduled appointment due to other commitments. Lady in the phone gave me just 1 other option to reschedule which did not work for me and then apologized and hung up. It seems WES is super busy thia season and doesnt bother for new business. Very disappointing.

Joe and Brian installed a 75 gallon hot water heater for us last Thursday. They were both knowledgeable, friendly, neat and efficient. They explained everything we needed to know about our replacement water heater.

The business accepts credit cards, including American Express, always a plus for me.

I would highly recommend them!

Very eager and buttoned up when it comes to selling you something, but evasive and unresponsive when you go back to them with an issue. They did not give me the 20% discount listed on their website for the month of October, and numerous people from the company have completely ignored my questions and requests for a refund.

This is the second set of windows I've ordered from WA Energy and I've been extremely pleased both times. This time Del and Joe came to install the windows for me and did an outstanding job. They were polite, professional and worked hard to accommodate my schedule which was really helpful. On the first day of installation, they cooperated with other installers I had in the house doing some work in my closets so both teams could work without getting in each others' way. The second day, they came extra early so they would be finished in time for me to make an appointment I had around noon. The windows look beautiful and they did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. Two days later, Todd, my sales person stopped by to check on the job. I have one more sliding glass door to replace when I do some remodeling over the next couple of months and I will definitely order that one from WA Energy Services!
I highly recommend them.

I had David Piscatelli quote me a new heat pump & air handler furnace.  David came on short notice and spent several hours talking with me during the evening -- when he should have been off work.  I'm so glad he did! David's quote was the most complete and the most competitive of all (I got 5 quotes) I saw.  David knew about discounts & rebates that the other companies did not.
Then, when the installation & installers arrived for the furnace, they worked SO hard!  They arrived (Sammamish, 3/17) worked 9am - 9pm removing the old heat pump & furnace and putting in the next.  I was specifically concerned about the access holes they were cutting under my house as I'd previously had a rodent problem.  The technicians brought me outside with a flashlight and crawled along the dirt, showing me how every tiny hole had been filled to prevent rodents/pests from gaining entry.
The following day (3/18)  I had a different crew from Washington Energy show up.  These guys went down into my crawl space (shudder!) and wrapped all my ducting with insulation.  I'd had this job quoted from a different company before, but when David bundled it with my furnace quote I decided to have the WE guys do it too.  Again, I am so glad I did! These two guys were so hard working, so positive.  They made sure to clean up any messes they made and they were so cheerful, especially the guy who was more junior of the team.  He kept thanking me for the work and telling me how thankful he was to work for W. E.  It made me feel good to know my $$ was going to such a good company.
A week later I received a follow up call from David, making sure I was pleased with the work. I told him I was, but had a question about a small minor electrical issue (lights blinking when heat pump kicks on).  David offered to have an electrician to swing by the house.  I also asked about how to set my thermostat (I really am not an idiot, but thermostats just confuse me) and David offered to walk me through the settings over the phone!

I can't recommend this company enough.  Top shelf.

We brought in Washington Energy Services to replace our oil furnace and electric water heater with natural gas systems.  From beginning to end it was a very well executed project.  The team was professional, there was a clear project plan, and my expectations were effectively managed throughout.  In two days they ripped out our oil forced air heater and electric water heater and replace both with new equipment and ran a gas line for the future installation of a gas range.  Aaron Atwell and Jon Ritchey were on point to do the work and they were superb.  Great attitude, great work ethic.  This is the second time I've used Washington Energy Services and I'd recommend them highly.

I just called to ask about converting our oil furnace to a gas furnace and was told that since the owners of the property do not live in the country (I am renting from the owners who are close personal friends who asked me to see about converting the furnace and are within easy contact) that WSE cannot do the conversion.  That was the end of the phone call.  Are you kidding me!  Just because they are not physically in the country you can't do the conversion?  Horrible customer service.

I had bought a gas fireplace maintenance plan that included 2 cleanings a year. First cleaning was done 6 months ago. The technician was fine but just did the bare minimum. Today we got James Trilbley. He was fabulous! Courteous , friendly, efficient & did an amazingly thourough job! He took such particular care in everything he did. My fireplace looks better than the first day We got it!! I will be requesting James next time.

Washington Energy Services has excellent customer service. They answered my phone call on the weekend and they were the only ones that responded to my call out of 4 different companies that I had tried scheduling an estimate with for a door replacement. Nick Dwyer is a fabulous Home Energy Consultant. He was very patient and answered all my questions with detailed knowledge and good suggestions. He definitely cares about his customer's needs and offers competitive, affordable pricing as well as providing many options. They expedited my order because my door had been broken into and I had a door installed in 2 weeks by two installers who were clean and courteous and did a great job. Their administration was also very good and prompt about scheduling, appointment reminders, and follow-ups. I highly recommend Washington Energy Services for doors and windows.

Long overdue review. I had Washington Energy Services install a new furnace almost 10 years ago. It still runs great with no issues.  All I have had to do is change the filter, and install a new thermostat a couple years ago. At that time they showed me several options of furnaces and let me choose. We didn't go with the cheapest, because the person explained how we could upgrade to a heat pump later if we got one with space for the upgrade. That furnace option was only a little bit more than the cheapest option, so we went with it.  I just met with Casey who set me up for a home energy audit, which I am excited about. I know I probably shouldn't get excited about an energy audit, but I don't think we have enough insulation in the attic, and I think by adding some we could reduce the number of times our furnace kicks on. Casey explained how knowledgable the workers are, and I believe that makes a huge difference in the quality of work completed.

Very encouraging to see all of the relatives for Ken, James, Todd and the other WES employees taking the time to write up such glowing reviews!  For the rest of us that don't have a close relative working here this place has the quality products of a used car lot, the customer service of the post office and a warranty program as ethical as your local slip and fall attorney.  Like many others that have posted here I thought that WES was some sort of subsidiary of PSE.  I had a furnace installed by them a few years ago and when it wouldn't turn on three years later during the coldest day of the year, a call to WES revealed their true nature.  They couldn't get anyone out for weeks unless I was willing to pay the outrageous surcharge in which case he could be out that evening. Prolonged fight to get warranty work done.  I guess the employees are too busy writing each other glowing reviews instead of actually working.  Beware!

We had WES install our heat pump/AC until in our new home 8 hers ago. Since then we've had what we thought was the typical problems with the unit. We purchased the extended warranty and maintenance program.  The fan went out on the A/C last year, as well as the furnace. Both times we've had to pay a high capacity fee of $199 instead of the $99 fee because they were short of qualified techs. This year the A/C unit is not working again, we waited the weekend to call in the over 90 degree weather, we called at 8am promptly on monday morning and was told the service dept was too busy from the call center so they would email them to call us back. We called back 2 hours later only to be told they were completely booked up for the week and advised we should have called at 8am and would be charged the $199 over capacity rate to have a tech come out this week. When we asked why that was, we were told again that an A/C tech was out for a month and they were short staffed of qualified techs. The customer service rep could have cared less that it tended to be a pattern with them, she was taking no responsibility whatsoever for the lack of ingerity of the company and their promises. If we didn't have three more maintenance appts left on our warranty, we would not be using WES ever again. Go anywhere else, don't use this company!!
