Tub Cove

We wanted to update our tub and shower surrounds to something more seamless (read: no annoying shower grout to clean) and also classic. We had two bathrooms done, and they did a great job filling in the existing footprint on each surround. In one of our bathrooms, the laminate needed to go over the ceiling, and in the other, it only needed to go up to the top of the wall.

Tub Cove also updated our plumbing. After they did the demolition work, they found CPVC plumbing. We knew this was a possibility and had already discussed having them update it to PEX on a time and materials basis. They installed the new plumbing the same day, and it didn't delay our bathroom completion.

Our new tub footprint is slightly smaller than our old one, so they put a strip of marble flooring down to connect it to the existing tile flooring; we were a little concerned that this might look strange, but it actually looks natural.

Overall, we're happy with how everything turned out. It took three weeks from when we first contacted Tub Cove to when our new tubs and surrounds were installed. Everyone we worked with was very friendly and professional.

Their installers are great but the program managers (Lexi and Alexia) who handled the project were not clear on what would and would not be covered.

When I first signed the contract with them I had a verbal agreement from them that they would include the shower fixtures into the cost of the contract itself. There was no place in the contract itself to specify who would be covering the cost of the fixtures themselves.

They were however clear that the cost of the faucets was not included in the price and was on me to cover.

Due to this miscommunication they provided a verbal agreement that they would reimbursing the cost of the shower fixtures. However when it came time for the payment they mentioned because no contract was signed for it they would not honor reimbursement. At the end of the day this became a he said, she said disagreement which I did not feel like having over a $170 price difference.

No follow up. As simple as that.
The salesperson came in, gave a quote, then I emailed her with questions. It took her almost a week to respond that she would ask someone, then vanished again. I am having someone else starting the job tomorrow

I had an appointment scheduled for 01/19/2021, 1pm , I called and confirmed and was informed that they are on the way.  Took a day off from my job for this. They never came nor called me. I called several times, no one picked up the phone.
I would not recommend this company. My time is as valuable as your time.

This is the third time I've used Tub Cove. The first was around 1990, when they supplied the tub surround, but I installed it in my bathroom. Fast forward to 2018, and they replaced an old tub with a shower in my MIL rental. And this time, Jose and Austin came to replace my original tub with a shower.  I removed the old surround and sheet rock, but Austin used his muscles to lift out the tub, with ease!  He was always  polite and friendly and both he and Jose were efficient and worked fast. They clearly know what they are doing. A great company to work with and I would use them again.

I replaced an old and ugly walk-in shower with a soaking tub/shower combo. There were a few bumps in the road that were no one's fault as there can be when remodeling. I was very pleased with how these issues were handled by the Tub Cove team. The focus was on finding the best solution for me, and resolving the issues quickly and easily. To resolve these unforeseen issues required two extra trips to my home, and this was done in as timely a fashion as I could have wished. I was also very impressed with all the interactions that I had with the Tub Cove team on site. In addition to being knowledgeable and competent, all of the demo/installation team were very polite and considerate of me and my property, which I have not always found to be the case with other vendors in the past. They made the fun of remodeling as pleasant as possible in every way, and are much appreciated.

If you're anything like me, you are scouring the internet for reviews on bathroom remodelers and trying to discern what's real, what's a good deal, and who is actually available in Seattle/the East Side since everyone seems to be doing work on their homes right now and contractors are in high demand! Well, I was in your shoes a few months ago, and I spent a lot of time calling and speaking with companies who had high star ratings on Google. Let me save you some time - Tub Cove is the best quality and the best value with the best crew. I can't say enough wonderful things about Tub Cove & their whole crew, from the owner (Jim) to the awesome office manager (Lexi) and all the hardworking crew & journeymen who remodeled our bathroom, we had the best experience and are so thrilled with the end results. As first-time bathroom remodelers who got in a little over our heads with ideas/overwhelmed with the wide range of companies & pricing out there, Jim took the time to coach us through the whole process, gave us a wide range of options when it came to scale of project, materials and pricing, and then literally helped me turned my Pinterest board dream bathroom into a reality within our budget. You can pick out all your own finishings from any store (we used Wayfair) and then his experts installed new waterproof flooring and even found us an amazing artisan tiler who did the most perfect white subway tile around our new deep-soaking enclosed tub. Our new bathroom is my most favorite part of our house now. Whether you need a repair, just want to replace your bathtub, or want to do a whole remodel like we did, they have experts who can help you with your project. The work crew was super kind & respectful & completely professional. I wish I could give them all more stars! Seriously look at how beautiful ours turned out:

Tub Cove has been a life saver! I have needed to replace the shower and tub in two bathrooms within three months. Jim and his team have great value, service, and reliability. Tub Cove is also an independent business - and a customer experience like no other. When the did demo on my tub and found previous work needed to be undone before the install, the owner Jim called me to see how to help - even though this is outside of their realm of responsibility. Wow!

We had a tub installed in a cabin.  We love the results! The quality is excellent.  Beautiful beefy tub and walls.  The whole experience was very positive.  Choosing was not overwhelming and the installation was very smooth.

Jim and his team were exceptional! I needed a tub replaced in my rental property. Unfortunately, I don't live in the same state as my rental. I called Tub Cove and started working with Jim. He was extremely professional and went above and beyond to explain things over the phone. He also went the extra mile to do a thorough inspection of my existing tub and surroundings, checking for any possible leaks and water damage. He even went the extra mile to walk down into my garage and check for possible water damage there. This was extremely helpful since I wasn't there in person. We were fit into the schedule within 2 weeks of our first conversion (and this was over the holidays, spanning across new years). The whole job only took 2 days. The teams that came in to do the replacement were professional and cleaned as they went. I would recommend Tub Cove 100% and would most definitely call on them again.

This is a shout out to Jose and Austin at Tub Cove who did an excellent job of removing my very deep tub tiled walls. The tub is too deep for a short person like me, so am having a walk-in shower installed hopefully by the end of this next week. When Austin and Jose were here, they worked steadily, as neatly as they could be when taking out a tub and the tile siding along the walls of the tub, etc. - they even swept up afterwards. I am impressed. Now , just waiting for my beautiful new walk in shower to be installed and will update this post when job is completed.

The work was done as agreed upon and the quality is satisfactory.  From the time I paid half up front to the time the job was completed was over 2 months (mostly not their fault.  Covid 19 shelter in place was 6 weeks of it)  The top slide rail that originally was installed was bent.  They pointed it out and ordered a new rail.  I would hire them again for my next project.

The new receptionist Lizzy was very friendly and promptly scheduled a time for Tub Cove to come by. Jessie took care of what was needed and I recommend him for future work. Thanks!

The product is cool, I like how easy to clean and simple it is. I have never had such a horrific service experience though. The guy stood in the doorway while I went in the bathroom to get something, and when I tried to leave he touched me while saying you're sexy. I don't really need to say more than that, do I? He also left nails on the floor and debris on every surface of the bathroom.

UPDATE: I have never been contacted by anyone from this company. I am taken aback thought altogether not surprised by the gaslighting in Shelley's response. Good on you for upholding rape culture and standing with the oppressive majority, I guess.

I can't recommend these folks enough.  Every single person we dealt with, from Shelley on the phone to Dan (?) who came out and did the estimate, to the guys who did the work (1 guy on day 1 to do the tub, guy #2 the following day to do the surround and trim), were courteous, answered questions, and in the case of the guys who put in the tub and surround, very clean and took care to move furniture so they could get a tarp down and use that for a work space. Our new house had an old all in one tub and surround insert that had cracks, and bounced as a result.  We went with a new tub and Formica surround.  Dozens of colors to choose from and Shelley helped make sure we picked the right white for the edging.  (So many different whites!)
Don't know how their prices compare to others, but this is the company to hire.  Locally owned, not a franchise, which is also important to us. And our tub looks awesome!!

I wish I could recommend this company as there are some kind folks who work there. Unfortunately, the person who did our installation did not do a good job and did not clean up after the job was done. When he came out to fix the failed laminate, he apologized for not cleaning up after himself. But then when he was done, he asked me if he'd cleaned to my satisfaction -- and argued with me when I pointed out the adhesive he'd dropped on the tub. He then accused somebody (i.e., my husband or me) of sabotaging his original work.

The work involved removing ceramic tile. Not cleaning up meant that there were shards of ceramic left throughout our bathroom, foyer, and down the hall of my building. This was a safety hazard. Since the mess followed him out to the parking lot, I had to clean after him so that it did not cause injury to my neighbors or result in me getting a fine from my homeowner's association.

While the product itself has been fixed and looks fine, I did not appreciate having to clean up after the worker or dealing with his unprofessional interactions--especially since I'd expressed reservations about having the same person come back to repair.

I shared my concerns about the second visit and asked for consideration of my time in the final bill on 4/9/18. Shelley at TubCove agreed the behavior was unacceptable and that she would forward my concerns to the company owner in Arizona. I have yet to receive a response but will update this review should I hear back.

UPDATED: I changed my rating from 2 to 3 stars. TubCove's owner called me to apologize for the service we received from the installer. During our conversation, he said they talked with the installer who admitted to skipping a critical step in the installation, which resulted in the failure of the product. They refunded me $150.

This company was once reputable.  NOT ANY MORE! The new owner & manager are flakey.  They gave me a quote that included a wallboard install.  3 weeks after the quote  I called and asked why no one has scheduled the wallboard installation as my cove install date was just a few days away.  They told me they fired the scheduling person.  I said I would just do the wallboard myself and please subtract the labor and materials from the total.  Jeremie agreed.  As he hung up the phone I could hear him screaming profanities.  I did the wallboard myself and the following monday the installer came and installed the cove.  Now they tell me the  quote never included the wallboard installation.  He is a bold faced liar.  DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

They did great work.  They were great communicators and clearly explained the project and process.  They were on time on all 3 work days, even came back on a weekend to finish up.  The guys were professional and cleaned up the project space each day.  They weee not the least expensive quote but definitely worth a little extra for the simplicity and quality.  Highly recommend.

Apartment Unit.  Needed a cost-effective basic tub cove installed between tenants.  TubCove was fantastic in scheduling around my departing tenant's needs.  But the install exceeded fantastic. The 50 year old showerhead broke off behind the wall.  The installer notified me, clearly explained our options, then was competent enough to affect the repair without shutting down the project.  Left the space immaculate!  Possibly some penny-cheaper options out there, but I've found my shower stall folk!  Fully recommended!

They replaced my tub and did a decent job. The drain plug stopped working so I called to have someone come out. They scheduled me for a morning appointment, I stayed home from work to meet someone. About 20 min after my appointment was scheduled, I called to see where they were. They informed me that they won't come out to my area just to check the plug..? Could you tell me that BEFORE I take the time off work? Like when you schedule said appointment..? Very annoyed. They said they would call if they have any work in my area.. We'll see if that ever happens..

This company is absolutely not professional. They flake on appointments, Shelly is extremely rude on the phone, and they waste your time. Steer clear.

We recently got our tub/shower surrounds replaced by TubCove and we were very happy with the quality of product and service.  Would recommend to others.

My tub looks awesome. I hate dirty grout and wanted something seamless and sharp looking. They had a huge selection of samples and the install was only 2weeks out. The owner was really nice & even showed me the shop where they curl the Formica. The guy who installed was on time and I felt totally comfortable leaving for work with him to lock up. One of the only guys working on my house to not leave a tool behind! Bath was cleaner than before he arrived. This place is great.

We really like the new tub & surround they installed. The thing I like about the tub ....it has a low profile and easy to get in and out of. Great for a senior like me or small kids. The quality of the product and installers are first class. Thanks Tub Cove!! David C.

I just had a new tub surround installed from Tub Cove. The whole process from beginning to end was seamless. First Scott came by to give me an estimate. He was right on time and very friendly. Next, I went into their showroom on Lake City Way and met Shelley. She was so friendly and helpful. She spent quite a bit of time with me picking out a color and pattern and I never felt rushed. She told how the whole process worked an she called me when the laminate came in. We set an appointment and on the day of install, Benjamin came. He was right on time, very polite and friendly. He got to work right away, layer tarps down on the floors, and cleaned up when he was done. It only took about 5 hours or so. I can't say enough good things about this local company.

I have used this company in the past and they are great. The work is always more than I expected. The ease of having them in the house to do the work was great. They were on time and the project took only one day of prep (less than 5 hours) and a day to finish that took about the same length of time. I am very pleased with the work that they did for me.

We use Tub Cove to do all the tub surrounds as we remodel our apartments; they cost a bit more, but the work is done in one day and it holds up well and is easy to clean. They would get 5 stars, except that we have had difficulty with their plumber in the past (not with the work, but with getting him to actually DO the work) and their plumbing cost is pretty high. As far as the tub surrounds go, however, we love their work, and it's always a joy working with Shelley in the office.

I needed to replace a tile enclosure that was not installed properly. Tub cove gave a fair quote and came very highly recommended by my friend who is a contractor. They were able to get us on their schedule quickly and they did an excellent job. When problems came up from the previous install, they addressed them quickly. We ended up needing to replace the tub unexpectedly and they got a new tub in the same day. Installation ended up taking twice as long as expected but they took care of all the issues that needed to be addressed, which I really appreciate. The installer was very sweet with my super talkative 4 year old.

There aren't enough superlatives we can use to describe how we feel about Tub Cove.  We recently had
remodels to 2 of our bathrooms.  Great workmanship.  Great attitude.  On time.  Very very professional.  From the estimator, the office administrator/scheduler to the plumbers to all of the installers.  Nothing but the best.  Highly recommend. FH/JH

I just renovated a bathroom in one of my apartments. I used Tub Cove to make the shower insert for me. I like the custom molded one piece unit with no seams. I was able to call in my measurements and they had it ready for me to pick up the next day. Pricing was the same as what you would pay for a three piece at Home Depot. Only problem was the location for pick up was not the most convenient. Otherwise great.

We have had two surrounds installed by Tub Cove.  They were so easy to work with and extremely reliable.  They arrived when they said they would and delivered on time.  The quality of their work is great, and everyone was pleasant to interact with which I find especially important when people are coming into your home to do work.  And, most importantly to me, they stand behind their work.  Months after our tub was installed we started to see cracks in our Marmoleum, it became apparent that the weight of the new (larger than before) tub was causing the cracks.  Tub Cove paid for new flooring to be installed and made it pretty darn easy to get the problem corrected.  We will definitely be return customers.
