I was referred to Steve's plumbing by a coworker of mine,  looked at their reviews and scheduled them to come out.

They were able to schedule me at 8am on a Saturday which could not have worked better. From the greeting on the phone, to the execution of service was not only flawless but exceptional!

Just competing a big kitchen remodel, I had turned a two drain sink into a one drain farm sink. The depth of this sink leaves little room to address the plumbing from the wall to the drain.... which didn't line up, and then to add a disposal made me think this is no DIY job.

Brandon and Wolfe were the technicians that came to my home, and they addressed everything from the faucet, to a new disposal, and even a cap that matches my fixtures to seal the additional hole in my countertop since they also gave me a solution for the air gap with my new dishwasher that doesn't require that ugly thing that sticks up by the sink.

Their professionalism was perfection, and they definitely took the stigma away from the plumbers one would come to expect. You know the kind, with ill fitting pants and stains on their clothes. These gentlemen's shirts even looked ironed!

I can not give a higher recommendation. Thank you for making my renovation that much more easy and enjoyable.

I called this plumber because they had a stellar Google rating. Shame on me for not consulting Yelp as well. I called to get a wobbly toilet looked at, and as others have said, the company charges $99 to come out and diagnose the problem -- which is mostly fair given you can turn down the work and otherwise waste their time. When they came out, they fixed the wobble and claimed to have replaced all the bolts and seal. But upon closer inspection, what I saw was 1) no wobble (great!), 2) a toilet that seemed sort of lifted off the floor (huh?), 3) a couple new bolts (yay!), 4) a couple old bolts with two swimming in a pool of wet caulk (wtf?!), and 5) new caulking but only around about half the toilet and done with gaps and done sloppily as if without a caulking gun (um, no). See photos...

What's worse, the final bill came to nearly a whopping $1,200. Meanwhile, online averages for FULL toilet installations including a brand new toilet go up to about $1,000.

I left a review on this with them, expecting a response given they have a satisfaction guarantee, but no response. I emailed and then followed up with a voicemail and finally got a response. They said they would come back out and we scheduled an appointment but they were a no-show. I called back and the woman said the manager canceled the appointment but no one called me to discuss or even honor my time sitting home for four hours. Nice!

Bottom line: Absolutely not. This is something I intend to take up with SAG and Better Biz Bureau at this point. Save your time and skip them. And in general, do your homework on the companies you use across different platforms, and do some digging on what things should cost before signing any invoice and giving out your credit card number.

I had Steve's plumbing install drainage pipe in my yard in Grand Blanc.  The work went well and I do not have any complaints about the job, it's what happened after that is unacceptable.  They cut my invisible fence and after multiple calls finally hired another company to repair... 9 months later.  Still waiting for them to repair my lawn where the pipes were laid.  This was all included in our work order.  Multiple calls and very rude.  Said they are too busy.

One star is too much for this place. It is a total rip off and I wish the God this guy goes out of business because he takes advantage of people with his highway robbery pricing. STAY AWAY from this place and find another plumber. Be warned that you will be ripped off massively by this place.

Steve's plumbing charged me $99 + tax to investigate a dripping shower issue, and then proposed to fixed for $979. Plus the original $99 - this is more than $1000 for a shower valve replacement.
For comparison, 2 sons Plumbing quoted me $479 and did not charge me for a first visit. This is less than half the price.

I feel like an idiot that I called Steve's Plumbing. Never again.

Should have read the reviews in Yelp before calling this scammer. Got massively ripped off too! I am contacting Attorney General's office to see if they can do something about this scam for a plumbing business. I am also contacting Jesse Jones, a local investigative reporter to see if he can do a TV report about this.

STAY AWAY from Steve's Plumbing. We received a quote of $913 (see image) for the replacement of a Faucet Cartridge. This is a part that is available from Home Depot for $30! We were told it was a special order. Upon informing them we bought the part at Home Depot we were told they would install it for $339. It took me 15 minutes to install the part after watching a YouTube video. Do the math on how much we going to be gouged for a $30 part, let alone the installation fee. It is unconscionable what this company is doing to unsuspecting people that wouldn't know better or weren't able to do their own research like we were able to. Shameful!!!!

They are pricy. An issue occurred after the installation of a new toilet.  I don't blame the tech's, they did a good job.  The issue was not something you could see until you used it.   Since the install was not hourly but by the job, you would think there would be no charge to correct the issue.  Well wrong.  There is no clear way to correct the issue without replacing a part for a different one.  I bought the new part but they wanted to charge to install it when this install was part of the original job.  One would think you would want to make it 100% right with the customer.  I guess not.

Unfortunately, I had an extremely negative experience with Steve's Plumbing and would NOT recommend them. Besides them not even showing up until more than 2 hours past the 2-hour window they gave me (meaning, I sat and waited more than 4 hours for them to show up) with no phone call, they tried to majorly upsell me. The guy told me that a small drip in my crawlspace necessitates an ENTIRE house re-pipe to the tune of $23K (to replace copper with pex). This would be funny if it weren't such an utter waste of a day (and insult to my intelligence).  The reasons for the appointment still exist - my slow drain is still draining slowly and my dishwasher air gap is still not attached.  The slow drain was explained away, and not worth [his] time to check the p-trap in case there was a partial blockage there.  The cost to attach the air gap was ridiculously high but, were I not so annoyed by that point, I might have agreed to it being done just to get something out of this day.  So, definitely not a plumbing company I would recommend. Needless to say, a trusted plumber will be contacted to fix that leak.  So, they get one star for telling me about the drip and for being polite.
I sure wish I had checked these reviews before calling them!  I depended entirely on a neighbor's recommendation.  Never again.

Called to have a quote for a backfill valve installed onto my water line for a future irrigation system. I didn't know the exact material of the pipe material from the meter to the house, so the guys look under the house and find the material coming into the house. That's the good part. The techs were cordial.

Remember, they're here to quote for a back flow valve for a sprinkler system. I get a report back quoting a repipe the entire house, replace water heater and install a new line from the meter to the house. All said and done, about $55k worth of work.

Because there's electrical near the water meter and gas lines near the entrance to the house, they call 811 to understand where things are at to provide a quote for the sprinkler box. $89 service fee. They say they can come back after 811 marks things up to provide the quote that I originally intended for. Okay, I don't like the answer about the plumbing under the house, but good info to know.

Here's where things go sideways. I call them back out to finish the quote they were supposed to do first - backflow valve for sprinklers. The tech, looks and sees no gas or electrical in the vicinity of where we wanted to put the box. Quote comes in high, like the same price as the entire sprinkler system that's going to be going in with multiple zones. But it's a book price, a standard freaking book price. They could've been here the first time and provided that pricing as the estimate instead of ignoring that estimate the first time they come out. Sorry, this work is too expensive like 2-3x what we were expecting to pay. I don't want it.

Then, the tech wants me to sign on the dotted line to authorize the work. No. It's crazy expensive. Then he explains there's another $89 service fee to be dispatched again. Because they refused the quote the first time they were out, I was told it would be waived. I ultimately didn't pay but was left with a real bad taste in my mouth from the experience.

They could've come out and quoted the work the first time. They could've warned about other utility concerns. That's it, 20 minutes of interaction and done and it would've been 5 stars. The quote refusal, the auxiliary unrelated quotes, and the charges for quotes. 2 stars because the techs were nice during the first visit. Negative stars for making me feel like I was being conned.

Abbas and Michael did a fabulous job with some plumbing leaks in several different locations. They were careful and made sure they communicated everything about what was going to happen, and both were happy to comply with our request for boots and masks in the house, as well as, jumpsuits for going under the house. They provided pictures of the work they did and did a great job cleaning up afterwards. Very professional and great to work with! Thanks, guys!

This company is a scam.  They were charging my 80-year old mother a monthly fee for a Diamond Membership.   I own two homes and have occasion to use a plumber from time to time --  I  (nobody really) don't need a membership to a club to call a plumber.  When I called to cancel and express my disdain for their approach, they agreed to cancel the membership effective August 5 ... evidently the charges come on the 5th of the month and I called July 6.  I asked for a July refund and they said no.  It seems that to make a customer feel just a little better they would have refunded at least one of $16- $20 they  bilked out of my mother .. but that would be good business, which is certainly not what this company is all about.

I have no comments about the quality of this company's work.  I leave it to other yelpers to make that call.  Other reviewers have mentioned that they are contacting the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint.  I will be doing the same.

UPDATE:  Another woman from the company just phoned me and let me know that they are refunding July.   I have not changed my mind about this company, but I like to be fair.  That was quite a lot of aggravation (after years of ripping off my mother) to put me through for $16.

We needed 1 pipe replaced as we had someone else come out and do some of the work already. We were told the plumber would have a stocked truck and be able to do it same day. The plumbers arrive and proceed to spend alot of time and effort  trying to upcharge us into replacing all the plumbing in our WHOLE house! As others have said, they also try and get you to sign up for some plumbing membership. Finally we insisted on just the one pipe, since it's all we actually need, and they were going to charge $2500! Big waste of time and avoid this company. We've since had an honest plumber confirm that our plumbing is fine and we just need 1 pipe replaced, cost was a fraction of what these clowns quoted.

I had three shut off valves under my kitchen sink replaced today.  Unfortunately I wasn't there and my wife dealt with the two people. No complaints about them, on time, work looks to be ok.  Labor/service call wasn't cheap at $338.00 for a little over a half hour but I'm ok with it.  What isn't ok is what they charged for the three valves, $309.00, or $103.00 each.  The valves they installed, made by Wolverine Brass, can be purchased on line for $13.19 each. THIS MAKES FOR OVER A SIX HUNDRED AND EIGHTY PERCENT MARKUP!!!  I understand and accept that parts get a markup put on them but a markup nearly seven times the cost is robbery. Be very careful if you use these folks but better yet find someone who won't rob you blind.

The timeliness and service were excellent but the pricing felt like a scam. They charged me over $600 total for less than hour's worth of inspection and cleaning out my garbage disposal drain.

This is after hearing them push me to get their Diamond Service membership for $80 off.

I just feel terrible and like I got ripped off, really listen to the other people here talk about the pricing.

We had an emergency situation with our dishwasher, the big-box contracters did a bad job installing. Called Steve's for help because they advertise emergency services, but nope sorry! we're too busy can you wait two weeks? No Steve's we can't. Thanks anyway. I called a smaller company and they came within the hour.

I would not recommend this company for similar reasons listed by others. 1)They did not disclose the $75.00 minimum service fee. 2) They gave a selection of costs to dig ranging from $599-$1099 and diagnosis whether waterline was plastic or galvanized pipe. 3) To replace the main waterline they gave a bid of $17K which they would do for $14K if we did yearly Diamond scam plan.
No concrete repair included.
For reference we got a bid from a reputable plumbing company for $5,800. We do not need concrete repair. We will be submitting a complaint to the BBB and posting on our Edmonds Community site.

Set up an appt to have a faulty tankless water heater inspected and (hopefully) repaired, and was rescheduled several times due to inclement weather which was fine, but then when they did come out, they gave us only a half hour notice so I wasn't there. My wife was home and met with them. The tech didn't even inspect the unit - didn't remove the cover at all, but confidently provided a ridiculously high quote to replace the unit - over 8 times the cost of a brand new unit, which I'd already researched. He just went off of the verbal history of the unit we provided. I already knew I could order a new unit to replace myself - it's not complicated since the plumbing is all already there. So I basically got to pay their $100 service fee for the privilege of subjecting my wife to their ridiculous sales pitch. Waste of time and money.

I called Steve's plumbing for a leak repair and they told me that they don't drive in the snow.  I'm not talking about a blizzard but only an inch.  I understand why they might only service certain areas if the driving is too bad  or consolidate appointments to make it efficient or downsize to only a few plumbers during snow times but hey, it snows every year in the greater seattle area and plumbing is an essential service.  It's hard having family members who are essential workers who have to work and then you are having a bad water leak and being told, we don't take plumbing jobs if it has snowed because of our trucks.  That's what snow tires are for...

Scam, they charge $100 for an estimate, then the estimate is 3 times higher than highest average cost for same service. Reputable companies have free estimates.

Will rip you off...stay away.  $527 to repair 4 inches of PVC with a 90 degree elbow on it.  And we did all the digging.

They come with a clipboard and with extra charge items already filled out, ready to gouge you.

The elite team of two got their truck stuck even finding my house, and I'm sure my huge bill for 30 minutes work included the tow truck fee.

Oh, and they charge you $60 just to come to your house and give you the phone number of their buddies who will gouge you to find the leak.  I refused to pay it, so they tacked it on when I called them back (foolishly) to come back and do the repair.

They made out like bandits, and I covered their mistakes too.

My leak was *inside* the meter box...and we cleared and did the excavation work with a hand spade.  Pipes exposed and ready to repair, I should have just done it myself.

They are obviously big enough, to get enough work, to rip each new customer off and not look for repeat business.

You have been warned.

Update:
And their work is now busted and leaking, and of course they aren't going to touch it.

I hate writing negative reviews, but please dont waste your money.  I came across this company when I was needing to add a washing machine hookup in our garage.  We are first time homeowners, that recently purchased.  This is a simple job, easy access to plumbing and drainage.  Nothing fancy at all.  We also asked for a quote on a tankless water heater.  Wow, thank god we got multiple quotes.  Steve's quoted me over $12.5K!  If I wanted to pay $15 a month (for life) I could get it for only $11.6K.  What a deal.  Be wary of any company that charges to give a quote...  ($69 plus tax, which they would have charged even if we had them do the work!) Now the specifics.

$4.5K for the washing line and drain.  Yikes.  Second quote time...  The quote we went with (from a 5 star reviewed plumber who is awesome - his review coming up after the work is complete for a little bit) was for less than half of what Steve's would charge.  The other plumber also included capping the old drain and lines, while keeping them available as an option if/when we sell.

Now the water heater...  For a Navien NPE-A 240 tankless (just the heater) was $6,000!  That is more than twice what these cost!  Plus, add $775 for the labor, and tax and we are over $12.5K total for both jobs.  The plumber we went with actually explained that an electric tankless (electric is our only option) was not worth the cost or maintenance for a family and house of our size.  He said a 50 gal tank would be perfect, we just needed a new one as the old one that came with the house was well past its lifespan (which we knew from our inspection).  What we are ending up paying for that job is less than half of what Steve's would have charged.

The new plumber also pointed out he could add a water line for the fridge so we can use the icemaker for $500.  So, with the other plumber we are paying one third of Steve's quote, but also getting a water line for our icemaker, and a more suitable water heater.  True it's not tankless, but the tankless requires a lot more maintenance and is overkill for us.  Luckily, the plumber we are going with is honest and trustworthy.

I cant say the same about Steve's Plumbing.  The quote for the install of the washing line and drain, and the crazy markup on the water heater are evidence.  Please save yourself the cost of the service call for a quote.  Just go elsewhere!

DO NOT Waste your time calling them... I called and scheduled an appointment for service... The day before the appointment got a text stating that the plumber that was coming out was busy the day of my appointment and that there was no other plumber to help... They did not offer to reschedule the appointment... I texted back I will find another plumber... Their response was OK... Guess they do not want my business...

Don't waste your time or money ($75 minimum trip charge). They quoted $244 flat rate to unclog shower drain and another $333 flat rate to unclog a sink drain. They told me it is so expensive because they don't know how long it will take, 30 minutes or 3 hours... So if you fix this in one hour I just paid $577/hour!!!! Why can't they just charge an hourly rate... We just don't.

Well thats not good enough to earn my business or my referrals to others looking for a good plumber.

Don't make the mistake of calling Steve's Plumbing and wasting your time and money.

PLEASE READ BEFORE USING STEVE'S PLUMBING!!!

We have waited very patiently for your company to resolve the problem you caused back in February 2021 by installing a faucet improperly in our downstairs bathroom. Which in turn caused a leak and water damage to our cabinet. We did not have any water damage before your company installed that faucet and before pictures proved it. Our home was bought new and it is not even three years old yet. We trusted you when you said you would come out and fix the problem.

It is now August 2021 and we have already had two canceled appointments and we were called this morning August 4, 2021at 8:49 a.m. and told Rodney would be on the way after he finished a job in Aiea. Then Rodney called and gives some excuse that he would be sending someone else to do the job (another cancellation which was confusing because Rodney told us he would be doing job).

Rodney said he would call me back today August 4, 2021 and let me know what's going on (no phone call and it is now 7:30 p.m.). I called at 3:45 on August 4, 2021and talked with a Customer Service Representative to follow up. The Customer Service Representative said he would find out some information and call me back and he never did.  Also, when I talked with your customer service representative yesterday August 3, 2021 I asked if there was anyone else available to install the cabinet? She said they did have another person but since Rodney has been handling our case it is better if he did the work. I told her that if you all could not find the time to install the cabinet I was in touch with the company who put the original cabinet in and they are willing to install the cabinet (with your company paying the tab).

I was told by your Customer Service Representative that you all did not out source jobs. Well we want our cabinet installed. This is very frustrated and we have all emails/communication with your company. Also, you sent the same person out who caused the damage to take measurements on April 26, 2021(which was very uncomfortable for me). Then he takes the wrong measurements and Rodney had to come out on 5/12/2021 to re-take the measurements. Finally, we get a call that the new cabinet will be in on July 29, 2021. An appointment was scheduled for August 3, 2021 to install the cabinet. Then on the morning of the appointment we got call stating Rodney was on vacation and the appointment need to be rescheduled. The appointment was rescheduled for August 10, 2021 from 12-3. I got a call this morning August 4, 2021around 8:49 from your Customer Service Representative that stated she had good news for me. She said Rodney was finishing a job in Aiea and would be leaving in 15 minutes to come and install my cabinet. But at 10:15 a.m. I get a confusing call from Rodney stating that he was contacting his associate to fix the cabinet and her would call me back (he never did).
Also, I must mention that your company took a long time to even find me the cabinet. Every cabinet you found didn't fit our bathroom according to your company. Then we suggested to add more flooring to cover the shortage of the cabinet. Then you found a cabinet. We have patiently waited and constantly accepted excuses, and canceled appointments.

So, we are writing you to try to work this out because we want this done and over with. I am used to dealing with companies that fix their mistakes and care about their customers. We are trying one last time to try to make a sincere effort to get this problem resolved. If this problem can't be worked out we are willing to let BBB and also the Attorney General handle this for us. I am very disappointed that it has come to this but we don't know what else to do. It is disappointing to continue to take off work and have the appointments canceled at the last minute.

Wow, what an unethical company! I called this company because it was on the list of approved plumbers to work on my tankless water heater. They were a few down on the list, but I was unable to reach the first outfits I called due to the holidays. They got someone right out for the price of $67. Now, I told the plumber that I knew what was likely  wrong because of the error code on the display. He told me that sometimes the diagnostic process actually fixes that particular problem. Stupidly, I agreed to let him do it for $444 (this was a terrible day with a lot more than a hot water heater problem going on). Does the cost include fixing the problem? No, that will be about $350. I researched the problem and found I could fix it with a $20 part and 10 minutes, which I did first thing this morning and we are rolling in hot water again.

There is no excuse for what they charge. Don't get suckered like I did.

I would give 0 stars if an option. Shame on me for not reading other reviews as I thought I was just being taken advantage as a woman. Reading other reviews I see this is their normal business practice. I wanted an estimate for a line for an additional sink in very close proximity to water the current water line. After inspecting all my plumbing which I didn't  ask for since I just had full home inspection Steve the owner tried to sell me multiple 'repairs' and a diamond club membership. I have never needed a plumbing membership before and it felt like time share pressure sales tactic. He quoted me nearly $8000 to run a small line for bar sink. I just had this with done with another area plumber for $1000! Yes  $7000 less!! Outrageous. And I was charged $73 for an estimated aka sales pitch. Do not use this business and will be reporting to the Better Business Bureau!!

William fixed my kitchen drain around  2 years ago, charged 4700 + 1 year diamond membership, around 3-4 hours works.

We were doing kitchen remodel this year, uncover how the job was completed.
He broke crawlspace window sealing and left open.
Broke the dry wall and left open.
Left a hole between  floor and crawlspace.

I have taken photos after open the floor,  but pretty sad when we saw how the job was done.

My basement flooded during the heavy rains. I called Steve's Plumbing and a representative came out that day.  Proposed repairs and gave me a quote. Steve called me a couple of days later to say that he had looked at the quote and wasn't sure that the proposal would meet all of my needs.  He came out to my home himself to look at the basement and proposed some ideas that would work well for my home. I'm very impressed that the owner himself was looking out for me and my home!

They totally lied on the phone. Was getting an estimate for sewer scope and was quoted $69. They did not mention that it all depends on what they have to do. They arrived and after inspecting the drain in the kitchen, and toilet, they said they would need to pull the toilet in order to conduct the inspection and that it would cost $333. (Unless I signed up for a yearly membership which would reduce it to $283 plus $14/month.) I told them that it was too much and they then proceeding to charge me $67 just for coming out to the site. I have never been so ripped off in my life. After this incident, I have color other multiple locations and was quoted a flat rate. Other places at least have the decency to tell it straight and not charge a fee for just fiddling around for 10 minutes!

I have a NR240A Tankless Watertank (Navien) and Steve's is on the manufacturer's website as a trusted repairman.

I was then recommended Steve's from my standard heating and AC company. When I called them, they quoted me $69+tax for a field visit. Great.

I wanted to confirm they had the right parts, so she checked, and came back and said they would charge me $69 + Tax AND $399 + Tax to DIAGNOSE the problem. Then they would charge me to FIX anything.

A total rip off. I called Even Flo Heating and AC (Lynnwood, 425-381-0400) and they came out the same day, charged me $157.47 after tax, and I had my Hot Water tank running again.

Total Rip Off of a company.

Steve's Plumbing is awesome! I use them for all my personal and professional plumbing projects as well as refer them out to clients often. I am a designer as well as a remodeling company owner, I deal with subcontractors all the time and Steve's is one of the best! They have always gone above and beyond! They provide great knowledge along with exceptional service!

WOW, the worst experience we have had with plumbers in 40 years. NEVER work with a company that will not even give you a range of costs over the phone; now I know why. The plumber immediately started upselling my wife; you need a new garbage disposal, you need this, you need that, your pipes are awful. Their quote? $1,500..SUPERIOR CUSTOM PLUMBING did an excellent job, exactly what we needed for $284.00. total...

Chris did an outstanding job, he represents the company exceptionally well. He is both professional and personable. He gave me three options to fix a leaky shower valve. He was efficient in his work, polite, and my new single stem valve suits us much better than the old three stem he replaced. I would definitely recommend Chris at Steve's plumbing and will ask for him by name if there is a next time. He works as if he owns the company and it's his name on the side of the truck. I'm glad this project is complete!

Ugh. I'm not sure where to start with this review. I called Steve's Plumbing to get an estimate for a rather large residential plumbing job. First, they charged me $81 for the estimate -- I have remodeled four houses prior to this one and have received countless estimates from all sorts of contractors. I have NEVER been charged once for an estimate. Second, the Steve's Plumbing bid was $10,000 over the next lowest bid. Lastly, to even get their best price you have to join some ridiculous Diamond Club that costs $15 per month. Do yourself a favor and call Fox or Pinky's plumbing. Their estimates were free and significantly less!

Terrible service. They trap you by adding crazy prices to additional services.  Cost me over 1.2k just to fix a drain under my sink and running the snake out to unclog the pipe. Once you already sign for 1 service, if they are already opening the pipes.  Should not take another 475 just run the snake. Then they will trick you in signing up for their membership to same some money, but in fact you are not saving.  You still have to pay them for the service call if you think the price is high. You would think as a member, they would come out and give you a free estimate.

we just remodeled out kitchen and needed to have the new faucet hooked up.  Pretty simple for the most part or at least for a professional plumber.  We were thrilled because it was Saturday.  The woman on the phone said they did not charge by the hour that it would be a flat rate that would be assess at the time.  WTF, $1000.00 to hook up a kitchen sink.  Oh but it would only be $800 and something if I wanted to buy a Dimond membership for $14.95 a month which would mean any time I had a problem I would get priority service.  We said no thank you both and paid the $75 service fee and said good bye.  This place is a total rip off. I wish I would have remember to look at the yelp reviews first.

Expected a great interaction as the trucks are nice, the tech was nice, but not going to recommend this company to anyone.

Requested a quote for a job and they charge $69 to come out and take a look... they then add on taxes and gas fees so ended up paying $76.

Didn't end up using them as their quote was outrageous for the basic request. So we basically gave them free $ for nothing...probably how they stay afloat as a company...

They showed up and confirmed the obvious - sink has a clog. Quoted me $570 or $870 depending on what I wanted done. Wayyyyy inflated price - I could buy the electric snake machine they would use for less than that! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DIY or find a plumber not trying to price gouge.

Steve's Plumbing is the unqualified best plumbing business in Seattle.  They do top notch work every time.  Over the 10 years I have been working with them I have had superior service every time.  They support my house and my rental.  Prior to hiring them I had many other experiences with other plumbers and Steve's Plumbing is just simply superior in every way.

I am a diamond club member.  Because I am a diamond club member I get great service the moment I need it and at a discount.  Today I called and had someone out to clear a clogged drain that was vexing my wife.  I called and needed a plumber to get out same day.  You would have thought I was ordering a pizza, they were courteous and shuffled their people to make room to meet my need.  Coming out to help me right away wasn't a burden, they just helped.  I pay a lot for car insurance.  I pay a lot for health insurance.  My plumbing insurance is only $15 a month.  Throughout the reviews I see no one arguing that quality is top notch, but a lot of folks are hung up on the $15 a month.  It pays off in the discounts, but even if it didn't the service is amazing.  I'm a member for life.

I am sure you can get cheaper plumbing work from a handyman up the block.  And if you don't mind risking another leak next year then by all means have your handyman or other plumbers take a swing at your problem.  But you get what you pay for.  With Steve's Plumbing you get the best, and I find its worth paying for.

I have probably worked with 6 or 7 of the guys from Steve's plumbing, including Steve himself several times.  Quality is excellent.  Customer service is excellent.  Knowledge and training is excellent.  Their patience and willingness to explain things to me is excellent.  Steve's plumbing provides a customer service that is personal and rarely exists anymore.  If you value personal, exceptional customer service you should give them a try.  Steve's Plumbing is the unqualified best plumbing business in Seattle.

They charge more than twice what you can expect from other reputable plumbers - but to get an estimate you have to pay 60.00.

The recommend repairs that are not necessary, but they will tell you they are fairly urgent.

They charge a gas surcharge when oil prices are the lowest they have been in 17 years.

They will try to upsell you a membership in their diamond club for 180.00 a year.  That will save you 15% off your invoice.

These are facts, based on my personal experience.

They also apparently pressure Yelp to take down damaging but truthful reviews.  Please note over 60 reviews that are not recommended and they are all negative.

This company earns these rotten reviews.

Ridiculously expensive! I had them come to replace a valve to my water heater. It took 30 minutes and used about $20 of parts. Because they work on a flat rate basis I was charged $429 plus tax and a fuel charge (even though I live about a block from their shop). I own a home in Ocean Shores and had an almost identical repair done by Grays Harbor Plumbing in July of this year (the only difference was that they replaced 2 valves instead of 1). The charge was $195.  Steve's Plumbing sent a survey the next day and said that if I wasn't completely satisfied to please call their shop. When I called I wasn't even given the courtesy of speaking to a manager. The receptionist said that she would pass on my concerns, but I doubt that will happen. I got the impression that they didn't care. Needless to say, I will not use Steve's Plumbing  again or recommend them to any of my associates.

We recently used Steve's Plumbing based on reviews read online. We found this company well worth the excellent reviews. They were prompt to respond to our call and schedule an appointment. Upon arrival, The plumber entered our home wearing a mask and shoe covers. Rey, was personable, professional, and polite. He provided options for repair with costs noted, and fixed the issue in minimal time, and guaranteed. This company encourages feedback on the service as well. You can't get much better than this.

The plumbers were very professional, and did a good job of quickly replacing the leaky pipes and the uphill-running drainpipes of the house I'd just bought (and had been inspected as A-Ok...but that is a different review). However, I paid for this yearly inspection plan (Diamond Club Service) for which I could never get them out to actually perform, and I couldn't get them to answer my phone calls to cancel. Finally, I had to stop payment (they charged me $16+ a month for this plan) via my bank.

Too bad, because now I have to find new plumbers to replace the water line to the house, and the sewer line to the street.

Bottom line, the plumbers were fine, but the business management was poor enough I won't go back.

They were just sent on their way from my home.  Way too expensive for what they were asked to do.  I was shocked when I was told they wanted nearly 2k to set a shower drain pan, measure and cut the drain pipe to the correct length for the shower pan.  Crazy!!    It is like a 1 hour job 2 hours tops and they didn't have to supply the pan or drain, maybe some sealant and screen piece.  Sheesh!!!
Never calling them again.  Crazy crazy crazy.

Had to pay $75 just to say no!!!   What a rip off!!!

I give this company zero stars.  I had a window of 10:00-12:00.  The plumber showed up at 12:50.  The repair took 5 seconds - he pushed a valve in under my bathroom sink.  Total cost was $75.28 for 1 minute of time from the moment the plumber parked his truck to the moment he left my house.  I called the office to ask for a discount based on the amount of time it took to push the valve in and for the plumber arriving late.  The office manager told me no.  They just lost my business.  I was a first-time customer.  I DO NOT recommend this company.

My family just had a very bad experience with this company.  However, I'm going to do my best to cover the good as well as the bad.

We called them out to look at replacing our gas water heater, replace the faucet in the kitchen, and replace a hose in our laundry room.  None of these went smoothly, although the main issue was with the water heater.  We did our research ahead of time, and expected the water heater with installation would exceed $1,000.  The team came out, looked things over, and discussed options with us. They did not clearly communicate any dollar amounts, but we left that initial meeting prepared to pay around $2,000 for all the work. After the work was done we were shocked to be presented with a bill of over $7,000.  Apparently, charging 400% for installation is standard, and they did their best to paint a convincing picture of how the quality of the product and their expertise supports that exorbitant price.  I would disagree, but the bottom line is, if that price had been communicated to us up front, we would never had let them in our home let alone agree to the work.

In our laundry room, the work there was fine. However, they unplugged our refrigerator and failed to plug it back in afterward, which nearly lost us a couple hundred dollars worth of food.  I caught it after about 10 hours, and we decided not to throw things out. Fingers crossed there.  They could have done a better job with the cleanup, as well. They had to cut into the wall, and there was dust and chunks of drywall left on the floor, but I don't consider that a big deal.

The kitchen sink was fine. Our old faucet was leaking badly and the new one is well installed, no leaks.  We chose the middle priced of the three options they offer, and after a couple days use, I think I would have made a difference choice, as this one feels a bit fragile or cheap when turning from side to side, but that's just a product issue and style preference.

So in summary, positives:
They were available on short notice and the work was done pretty well.

The negatives:
The communication and customer service aspects leave a lot to be desired.  The cleanup and bedside manner of the crew could be much better. And the prices are high - basically the opposite of what is advertised on the website.

The owner, Steve, did a good job of handling the issues we raised, and did take some money off the final invoice - not quite what I considered to be fair, but close enough to come to an agreement and close the issue.  I was planning to mention more positives about Steve and how he handled the situation, but after reading all of the other negative reviews for this company, maybe what I thought was integrity was actually just experience with complaining customers.

Steve's Plumbing has been out to my home twice this year.  Both times they were on time, polite and thorough.  Costs were fully and patiently explained to me once they diagnosed the issue.  There was NO race through the problem explanation & just sign here about it.  As a single woman living alone, I am very sensitive to contractors looking to take advantage, and Steve's was completely fair & square.  Left me with the failed part in case of questions.

My initial call was for an semi-emergency drama.  They were there as needed.

Good work,  Honest people.  Fair price.  THANKS!  I'll not hesitate to call again.

That said, the Day and Nite Water Damage Restoration they suggested (no pressure, I asked them for the lead) was a two-thumbs-down (Seattle).  5 months later I am still stuck with the half-demolished bathroom they left me with.  A bit grumpy about that deal...

Back to Steve's Plumbing... A+.

Don't call this company unless you have lots of money.  Charged us $254.00 per toilet to replace a couple parts in the tank.  That was after we agreed to sign up for their Diamond Membership.....300.00 without. Service fee 59.00 and 5.00 fuel charge.   They wanted $222.00 per faucet to fix (not replace!) a drip.
We cancelled the return visit for the faucets and their Diamond  Membership.  Wish I had read the reviews about this company..no wonder plumbers have such a bad reputation.   Their must be some reasonable ones out there.

I simply needed the back flow attachments for our outdoor faucets. Everything was perfectly fine with the pipes and bib. I was quoted $800 for the job. I ended up buying a $20 attachment off Amazon that fixed the problem. The tech either had absolutely no clue what he was doing, or did know and was trying to gouge us. Either way, it's inexcusable. Not only did they try pulling this stunt but they didn't even give us a thorough inspection like their mandatory service fee guarantees. I wish I had come on here to see the low score it could have saved us $70. Oh well, hopefully somebody else sees this and finds literally any other plumber than this.

Had them come out to fix a burst pipe in our garage.   I turned off the supply line and called them.  It was a Saturday, and they were the only company to respond.  Charged close to $1000 to fix - I was not home, so my wife said OK.
Spoke to other plumbers and had estimates close to 60-70% less.
Next time will use another company.

Contacted Steve's to have a new Gas Control Valve installed on my warranted Water Heater - I had the valve.  2 polite, buy marginally qualified plumbers showed up and spent 2 hours unsuccessfully installing the new valve.  Roughly 20 minutes of their time involved pitching a Diamond Club membership plan.  Yes.  I'm really in need of keeping a plumber on retainer.  Roughly an hour trying to ignite the pilot, and about 30 minutes of actual work. Additionally replaced a gas line flex hose that didn't need replacing. Total charge of $450.  End result was a non-functioning water heater and a bill for $450.  No offer of a discount, although they did spend an additional 10 minutes trying to sell me an $1800 new water heater replacement.

When I contacted Steve to request a discount since they were unsuccessful, he became agitated and dismissive of my complaint.  Apparently the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee is only valid if Steve agrees that you are unsatisfied.  In short, I wouldn't recommend this company under any circumstances to any one at any time.  Ever.

This company totally scams you. My faucet was leaking so I had them come out to check it out. I was told it would cost about 1300 to replace my bathroom faucet. The faucet was super expensive but if I was to provide my own they wouldn't do it unless they replace all the pipes. I have copper piping and I don't need those replaced. The price the quoted me was totally ridiculous. I told them this is to much money. I would honestly give zero stars if it was possible. I have no plans to use this company again and would never refer them to anyone I know.

Called them and asked for a price range for clogged drain.  No range was available so I accepted a service call.  I was quoted $600 to snake and take off the toilet by another and thought they couldn't be any higher.  Well, I was certainly wrong.  $800 to snake and take the toilet off (which I had already drained/removed bolts).  I even had a $75 coupon and they only gave me $50 new customer discount.  I declined service and would not recommend them.  After reading the reviews here, it sounds like a similar experience from others.

The gentlemen that came to my home were kind and professional.  I thought that I was in good hands until I found out that Steve's plumbers are paid on commission. The apprentices are paid hourly. I  spent just under $1,000 for work that was summarized on my bill in less than 5 lines. I signed off on the work so I only have myself to blame. Caveat Emptor.  Don't make the same mistake that I did. I researched how much plumbing repairs cost after my repairs were completed. Another mistake on my part. The only information that I could find warned against flat rates where the plumber is paid commission.

These people are scammers!  Stay far away from them! There are plenty of other plumbers who are much better and ethical.  On June 19th, we contacted Steve's Plumbing about a leaking faucet in the sink of our kitchen. Steve's Plumbing sent out a Technician named Aaron Wolfe to look at the faucet. My wife and I were not at home when Aaron arrived; my little brother was at home at that time. I spoke with Aaron over the phone about the problem. Aaron said that the faucet was needed to be replaced. He said that he could replace the faucet that looks just the same (like kind), just different brand name, which costed $799 before taxes and other service fees. He said that the faucet would function exactly the same. I asked that he called me after he finished the job. 2 hours later, I did not receive any call from him. I then called my little brother who said that Aaron left almost 2 hours ago and it took Aaron less than 15 minutes to replace the faucet. My little brother gave Aaron the check that I left with him for payment. When my wife and I got home at around 10:30 pm, we found that the faucet was nothing like the old faucet. The new faucet was shorter and splashed the water everywhere outside the sink. Each time that we turned on the faucet, the wooden floor around the kitchen sink was completely wet due to splashing water from the faucet. The area around the kitchen sink is now damaged badly due to water. My wife called Steve's Plumbing on the next Monday, June 22nd to report the issue. They said that they would send someone over on Tuesday, June 23rd, to look at the faucet. The owner of Steve's Plumbing and the technician Aaron Wolfe stopped by on Tuesday. Steve, the owner, was arguing that Aaron did call me after he finished the job despite the fact that he did not.  We have the phone records indicating that the technician never called us after the initial call.  Steve was being extremely rude to my wife and said that they refused to fix the issue because my wife called his employee a liar (which she never did).  He said that we would have to pay for the new faucet as the they could not take back the old faucet since it was opened box item and used. This is an outright scam as they installed the wrong and cheap faucet even though we paid very expensive amount for the like kind one. Despite that the new faucet was splashing water everywhere into our wooden floor, resulting in water damages to the floor, they refused to fix the issue and forced us to buy the new faucet and additional labor cost.  They used the rude and unethical tactics to intimidate us and avoiding fixing the issues.  I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau.  These scammers do not deserve to be in business.

Our normal plumber wasn't able to come out so my wife called Steve's Plumbing for our running toilet issue. The technician was a nice enough guy, but after the $64.61 service charge just for coming in to take a look at the toilet (and try to sell us a service plan that costs $14.95 a month), he told us we needed to buy a new one for $775.00! Our normal plumber (Splash Plumbing) switched out our downstairs toilet for the same model this guy was trying to sell, swapped out all the connection parts, took away the old toilet and the total cost was under $350.00.

I wish we would have looked on Yelp before calling them.

I tried to install a new sink in my bathroom. After three trips to Home Depot and a few late nights trying to figure it out I finally reached out to Steve's plumbing. I'm glad I did. They had Mitch and Chris out the next morning and fixed my situation. I ended up signing up for the monthly service plan and will have them come out and inspect my other plumbing in the house. What a rip off.  They would not give us any type of estimate over the phone.  We needed our kitchen sink hooked up. When they showed up and told me I needed a new disposal for $700-$1500 and new valves for hundreds more?  Also I should sign up for their diamond club.  Just to hook up the sink was $1100. So glad I followed my gut and went with another plumber, who did the job for $280.  I also had to pay the $75 service fee to Steves.

Called to have work done on a shut off valve that was leaking in a rental house. Made the mistake of not getting a quote and got robbed. Insanely overpriced.

In response to the reply listed below. Neither myself or the owner of the property were presented with any estimate or costs, no opportunity to approve was granted. The work was done with the owner of the property telling me to hire anyone and once he was presented with the bill which I had already paid in full. I was informed that the costs were unacceptable and we should contest. I didn't see this as an option given the fact I had already paid in full. I paid $700 to fix a simple valve in a house I don't own. If I had been presented with amount prior to the work being done I would have looked elsewhere.

I had both a negative and positive experience with Steve's Plumbing.  First of all the lady who answered the phone was very helpful, very friendly and gave me all the information I needed before making a decision.
I had to get a new plumber for my master remodel as the one I had first hired, said that the job was to big for him.
Now I was, unfortunately, desperate.
But they came out within a couple of days, two nice men, who were polite and did exactly what they said they would.  They come with a full truck and they give you an estimate right there, on the WHOLE job not just the small part of it, and they do not break it all apart into time, pieces, parts, etc.   So I was happy with that.
The job they did was spectacular.
As part of the estimate they gave me pricing for the REST of the job that would have to be done later, after all the cabinets, etc. were put in.  GREAT, I thought it sounded fine, so I took it.
They also have a program where you pay 15.99 a month as a star member, that gets you first on the list when you have an emergency or just need something done.  No fuel charge, no extra charge for anything, you are now a star customer, GREAT, I will take that.
HOWEVER, the problem came when the plumbers had to come out to finish the project.  They pulled a little bait and switch.  (which i should have looked more carefully at so some of it is clearly my issue) but I think it was a bit dishonest on the companies side.
They give you a written estimate on a job for i.e. 795.00 to install SINKS and FAUCETS.  Ok got it...
But then they come back and write the same invoice and put a X2 next to it.  So now you are being charged 1590.00 to install two sinks and two faucets.  Which, btw is outrageous! (not that the plumber himself did not do a good job) but that price is insane.
And then when I asked the company about it, I was told that Steve said that was a normal price for installing sinks, 795.00 a PIECE.  However the original invoice did not say that, if it had said TIMES 2 , we would never have agreed to that price.
We have asked for Steve to call us, even given him our cell phone numbers, but we have never heard from him.
One thing I will say, IF you choose to use this company, or any company really, be sure to check your invoices, estimates, etc.  carefully.  Do not let them pull this kind of thing on you.
Once you sign it, its to late.
But I do want to emphasize, the plumber, Trevor was great, did great work, was polite, and professional at all times.

Seems like a scam to me.  If you join their membership program they offer free yearly inspections of off your plumbing which turns out to be nothing short of an up sell.  All they did was run the water in all of the sinks, they didn't even check under the sink.  And when I tried to quit the member ship program I had to call 3 times, and continued to get charged for two months after my initial call.

Knowing that we needed a very specific plumping part installed, we did some online research to find out how much it should cost before we called.  Online sources said approxamately $300-500 was a fair price.

We called Steve's to get an estimate and Steve told us that they refuse to do estimates over the phone.  He said they'd have to come out and see the situation before they would even give us a rough estimate.  A very polite plumber came out the next day and told us it would be about $1200 to install the part. Then he told us we owed $65 for making them come out.  Really?!  That was not made clear over the phone!!!  They should have at least made that clear before we asked them to come out to our house.  It felt very shady because now he was standing in my house demanding money.  We called at least 5 plumbers after this experience and every single one made a rough estimate over the phone (with the obvious caveat that the final amount could differ depending on the specifics of each situation).

The plumber tried to sell us membership in their Diamond Club program.  You pay $14.95/month and they provide a lifetime warranty on all their work and provide a 15% discount on repairs.  What I just don't understand it, if you're calling them to come out and fix something that's broken, why should you have to keep paying $15/month for the rest of your life? Because they bump you to the front of the list next time you call? No thanks.  All I want is the repairs.

What really upset me was that Steve's plumbing pays for positive yelp reviews.  They'll give you $20 if you write something positive.  Can you seriously trust a company that's doing that?  No you can't.  Plus there are several censored reviews.  Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to see ALL The reviews for this business.

We ultimately paid a different plumber $600 to install the part and there was none of this shady membership club or paid-yelp-review business.  If the plumber won't give you a rough estimate over the phone - stay away!!

Buyer beware!
Called for a 4 main snake at my residence, they told me the technician would come out and assess the situation. Upon arrival the technician assessed that I needed a 4 main snake at $588.00 plus $247.00 to remove the toilet so he could snake it plus the $59.00 trip charge. Being appalled at the price I declined the service but still had to pay the useless service call. Why could they not give me a price or any inclination that it would be close to $1000.00!
I called and asked for a refund on the service call but was declined. Rental shop $60 & ten minutes of my time fixed the problem. THIS PLACE SUCKS - READ THE REVIEWS...

I would avoid this company. They are extremely sales driven and overpriced. They will charge you $59 plus tax to come out to give you a sales pitch on their Diamond club service plan and give you zero details on the products they want to install in your home. Just high level marketing brochures with zero specs. Every answer was a sales pitch and they even had some corny stories to go with each question we had. This included their follow up call where they tried to position doing research on a product they had little knowledge about as going above and beyond for us.

It's always so weird to review a great business and see reviews from people who clearly only opened a profile to ruin someone's day.

Steve has been my plumber for over ten years. I will never use anyone else.

Over this past decade, Steve has installed a new sink, a new kitchen faucet, a new garbage disposal, a whole-house water filter, and has fixed countless toilet problems - one only just yesterday.

Whichever plumber I get, they are always extremely polite and leave my home better than they found it.

I know that plumbing and electrical work are expensive and since our house is a big investment for our family, I am willing to spend a little more to have it done perfectly. We have never had a problem with any of the work from Steve's Plumbing and I have referred them to many of my friends.

I highly recommend them.

We contacted Steve's Plumbing after a HomeAdvisor plumbing company pulled one of our toilets for a simple wax ring replacement.  Said company then told us they could they could not access the drain stack without having another company remove the drywall and heating duct in the room below the toilet.  So, we contacted another company, they came and inspected, then told us we need a plumber. They referred us to Steve's plumbing.  Steve's plumbing came and knew exactly what to do.  They only needed a small access hole cut in the drywall to do the repair.  The work area was well protected, and they showed us how well the project was going during the project.  They were very professional, did a great job, and their cleanup was outstanding.  We will use this company again, for future plumbing issues.  We totally recommend Steve'plumbing!

Josh came out within a couple of hours of my initial call and did a fantastic job.  He was professional and fast. Josh was the absolute opposite of the typical upsell/overly salesly plumbers I have dealt with - just friendly and squeaky clean!  When I called, I spoke to Steve and he was also wonderful and super nice to deal with.  My experience is 180 degrees off from the negative reviews here; personally, I would use Steve's Plumbing again in a heartbeat.

After being unable to arrange a service call with my regular plumber I called Steve's Plumbing. I was able to set up an appointment very quickly and when I needed it. Richard, the technician, called to let me know his arrival time and was prompt. He was very polite and friendly and diagnosed the problem very quickly.

I ended up replacing the toilet and while I knew I was paying top dollar (and a half) I was relieved to have the problem solved so quickly.

I do have an issue with the up selling and sales pitch for the Diamond Club.  I knew I wasn't getting any kind of a good deal on this service and all that made me feel a little uncomfortable.

Bottom line. The customer service is impeccable. The technician was excellent. The company policies, not so much.

Mixed bag. Quality was good but the cost was crazy high. They insist on using flat rate estimate which tends to allow for worst case scenario in terms of how much work and time required. I had done a lot of the prework for them and helped during the process and then saved them a lot of the cleanup. So for example for the actual plumbing work the flat rate said $533. It took the tech 15 to 20 minutes. That is is close to $2000/hour. I called and talked to the owner about it but Steve just said they charge flat rate and was unwilling to make any adjustment. I will not use them again.

If you are looking for a plumber, look elsewhere.

I had Steve's Plumbing and Heating come to my house to look at a drainage problem we were having. I reluctantly accepted the $59 service call along with a $5 fuel charge as I was desperate. The guys that came by were nice but they had about a 30 minute sales pitch to make me buy more stuff.

Luckily, the bid was so high that I declined any service to be done. I reviewed Yelp for other plumbers and found a reputable plumber without a service fee and saved about 30% though I think the guys that I actually went with did a lot more than what Steve's guys were going to do...

If you want to be up sold like crazy and pay way more go for it!

Valentine's Day and cold showers do not mix!!

Thankfully Steve's Plumbing sent Richard and pal to our rescue!  No, we weren't really too thrilled about purchasing a new hot water heater (and ended up purchasing the more expensive tankless gas water heater... I know, I know, it will pay off in the end!) but when your water heater is leaking and pouring out into the garage, you don't really have a choice!

Richard and pal worked for a couple of hours taking out the old and installing the new and both were friendly courteous (when entering in the house).

We will definitely turn to Steve for our future plumbing needs!

I did get a call from the owner Steve and he was really RUDE and didn't help the situation.

Had them out on a Saturday for two issues.  One they couldn't fix due to lack of a part and the other they fixed by installing a new garbage disposal (that was working) for nearly $600 (that was their cheapest).  I could have gotten a comparable disposal at Costco for $100 w/o installation.  They spent nearly 30min trying to sell me everything from environmentally green draino to a water heater to their service plan.  They were fast and seem to do quality work but you'll pay a premium and have to endure their sales pitch on everything they offer.  Had I chosen everything they recommended it would have been nearly $10K.

Very  bad.  Hired them to defrost pipes in our small rambler.  After 1 1/2 hrs. plumber left.  Pipe to washer was still frozen.  Bill was nearly $800. Steve wouldn't
come back out without another service fee and wouldn't negotiate with me.
Told me to take by business elsewhere! I had to get someone else to do the job the next day.,  Sadly, his ad in yellow pages reads:

We had them come do some work in September last year and they had us sign a monthly service contract. We are selling the house and don't live there anymore but they tell us that we have to continue paying for pipes that we don't own - just in case the plumbing goes in that house?! That makes no sense!!! Is this even legal?

Steve's Plumbing is excellent! They gave me a great deal and made me aware of a substantial tax credit for the heater I bought. They took our old heater away, ran gas line, and installed a new tankless heater that works perfectly. They showed me how it works and answered a lot of questions that I had. When they left, it looked like they were never there. They put plastic down or put plastic shoe covers on whenever they were in the house.

I am very happy with Steve's. Great deal, great service. They now have a regular customer in me.

We have been working with Steve's Plumbing for a few years now and my wife and I can honestly say they have been terrific. Quite frankly, we were surprised how professional they were when they first came to our home. We are sticklers to details and understanding what the problem is and they have always taken great care in explaining to us what is causing the problem and how they are going to fix it. They have delivered for us every time. That is so rare in the service business. They are a premium service business which we are happy to pay for. When it comes to plumbing, you get what you pay for and we are more confident hiring Steve and his crew to get the job right.

In addition they have always been highly responsive which of course is huge when the water/sewer whatever is going out of control.

We wholeheartedly recommend them for their terrific service!

I want to write a review for Steve's plumbing although I rarely write reviews.
My experience was the worst.
They tried to sell me every product imaginable.
I was not my usual careful self, and purchased hundreds of dollars of blue goop that not only stained all of my sinks and tubs, it was worthless and horribly expensive.
They put in a new faucet in my kitchen, also hundreds of dollars and worked badly for years. I finally reliazed that it's not my water pressure but the quality of the overpriced faucet. I realized much later they must work on commission and try to up the price of the bill as much as they can.
Overall, do not use Steve's plumbing.
Scoundrel comes to mind when I think of dealing with them.
Buyer beware.
0 stars, because its not possible to do negative stars for them.

I normally don't write reviews unless I have exceptional or bad service.  This was the latter case.  Our pipes were frozen and there wasn't any running water, so I called Steve's Plumbing after getting a referral from a friend.  We were the first job on the schedule for the next day since they were busy that day.  The next day came and our appt time passed - I called the office and was told that they placed a call ahead of ours and was tending to their house first and would do ours next.  If that was the case, at least tell us!  Anyways, they said he'd come to our house right after.  An hour later, still no courtesy call or anything to let us know what the estimated time frame was.. so I cancelled.  Definitely stay away!!!

I almost never write reviews because I so rarely find a service that I want to use my time to sit down and write about. I was blown away today by Phil's help from Steve's Plumbing. Phil was an expert at fixing my hot water heater and went above and beyond to explain to me all that he was doing. He was extremely personable and professional and I cannot say enough good things about him. I thought the price was very reasonable given how much work was put into helping us. I would highly recommend calling Steve's Plumbing!

My 73 year old mother called Steve's plumbing for a clogged sewer line.  They sent out a guy named Adam.  Adam told my mother that the main line had probable collapsed due to roots and that she needed to install a new exterior clean out to be able to fix the problem because this age home did not have clean outs.  He informed my mother that she was looking at about $12,000 to fix the problem.  After she broke down because she didn't have that much money, Adam called Steve to see what they could do for her.  After hanging up, he informed her that they could make a deal for her and do it for between $7000 and $8000.  After my mother said to go ahead, if that was what was needed, he immediately called to have a crew come get started.  That's when I showed up and started asking questions.  I stopped him from proceeding.  Adam did not even evaluate the true problem and check out any of the plumbing.  On top of that he informed her that she owed $70 for him to come out and do nothing but give her a ridiculous bid.

I attempted to fix the problem and crawled under the house to discover that the drain system had 4 clean outs, including 2 four inch main line clean outs.  I was unable to get the clog fixed so I called Rapid Rooter and they came out and unplugged a sludge and paper stoppage for $346.

I am truly disgusted with companies like Steve's and the people that work there.  To take advantage of an elderly woman that had a little problem is unforgivable.  They are crooks!

My mom, in her 70's, called Steve's Plumbing about a backed up drain. The plumber showed up and mom said he was very nice. With a few minutes of investigation he told her that normally the price to fix the problem would be $12,000 to $15,000 but he could do it for $7500. They could start right away and have it done by the next day. Of course she called her sons and we both questioned the cost for a repair that sounded like it would only take 12 hours. When one of the sons showed up to discuss alternatives, the plumber was unwilling to offer any other suggestions and insisted that an outdoor cleanout needed to be installed, thus the $7500 price. There was no guarantee that this would fix the problem. The son asked if they would simply snake the drain. The plumber said no and insisted on a fee for his trip. The estimate contained no detail at all.
I wouldn't ask for any plumbing help from a company that doesn't want to get to the problem first. My mom felt like she had been targeted for being an older naive customer. She is on a fixed income and $7500 is more than she has in income for the year. No alternatives, no solutions, no effort by the plumber. Don't trust a thing they say.

I just had Steve's out for a water leak issue. They were fast, courteous and very helpful. They also got a water damage company to come out to the house same day as a referral to help us out with our ruined flooring. They do a complete plumbing inspection when they come out for a service call. I was suspecting my toilet rocking may be scary and getting ready to cause a leak and I was right. They were able to fix it when they were here and did a beautiful job. I didn't compare prices with other folks, but looked more for a plumbing outfit with a good reputation. I think the price may have been a little high, but these things aren't cheap no matter how you work it. I am very pleased with my experience and grateful to have them come out so quickly.

Don't fall for the $35 off gimmick when you'll have to pay almost twice as much just for the diagnostic fee whether you need or not for a fairly well understood and scoped problem. Do you really think making extra trips (and charging the customer each time) makes you look professional and gives you the right to act arrogantly and impolitely? I think not.

I was very easily able to email other plumbers with pictures of the valve that I needed to have replaced with another type, but in case of Steve's I first need to spend $59+tax before he'd even say whether I was looking at a ballpark amount of around $100 or $500. And the attitude doesn't win over any customers either, no use wasting time with this one.

I was very disappointed when the guys from Steve's came out to give me an estimate on fixing my toilet.  They said the toilet wasn't worth fixing, and I should just buy a new one...an $800 new one!  I asked them if there was any way they could just fix the part that was broken and they said they don't do it that way, they prefer to rebuild it ($500) or sell us a new one ($800).  Of course they do, cause both those options cost ALOT more!  So I sent them away, but still had to pay a $70 service call fee.  I think that SUCKS!

I called another plumber who came out the next day and replaced the broken part in less than 30 minutes for under $100.  The toilet works fine now and I know Steve's could have done it for cheaper.  They just refused.  I guess I know how to make a buck now...give someone a hugely inflated estimate, knowing they won't want you to fix it (cause it's a RIDICULOUS amount) and then leave with the $70 service fee.  I could do that without any plumbing training at all!  Maybe I'll start my own scam business...

I woke up this morning to Old Faithful coming up in my front yard. I wanted to use a local plumber and found Steve's on my first search. It was close and I called and talked to Kyle and explained my problem. He told me he could have someone here within an hour,

He told me someone named Rich would be contacting me and Rich called and showed up right when he said he would. I was very impressed with Rich's knowledge and professional attitude. He was friendly and went to work right away. Having been a tradesman and retired Rich is the kind of worker I would want working for me. His work was professional and timely.
I have some other work that needs to be done and will request Rich without a doubt. I recommend if you need Steve's services you ask for Rich. He is a working mans tradesman.

Steve's Plumbing operates under multiple names and locations, including Steve's Plumbing, Steve's Plumbing LLC, and Steve's Plumbing and Heating in Seattle, Lynnwood, and Bellevue...so reviews for one don't show up for other locations and names.

Called Steve's for a service call to re-light the pilot light on our hot water tank.  (at cost of $62).  After first trying to sell me the company's Diamond Service Contract insurance, the Technician wrote up list of options ranging from $199 to look at the water heater to $1885 to replace tank and associated parts, to $4354 for a new tankless water heater.  Minimum charge to try to re-light the hot water tank pilot light was $199.  I told him that was outrageous!  How are these guys rated A+ by the Better Business Bureau?
Called another reputable plumbing company and was charged $75 service call.  He had the pilot re-lit in 5 minutes.  No addtional charges.

I made an appointment to have Steve's Plumbing proffer a proposal for a multi-thousand-dollar project.  The plumber that arrived in my home did not focus on meeting my needs, but instead pitched installing an alternative, more expensive system, and the company's Diamond Club service agreement for $14.95 month.  The plumber demonstrated an arrogance and a company-centered orientation that was stunning and offensive.  For the sales pitch and his attitude, I paid $64.61:  $59 for the visit and a fuel surcharge, plus state sales tax.  I crossed Steve's off my prospective plumber list and got the job done satisfactorily by a competitor.

my son flushed something down the toilet and we couldn't fish it out. Called steves because it was the first to come up and we liked that it was family owned.

Wasn't a very good idea.   first we had to pay the $60 fee to come out.  When they got here, they told us we had to buy a new Toto toilet, because it was an old toilet with old bolts.

We were estimated around $800.  It ended up being $1500.  Not even close to the estimate.  I felt terrible for having to pay so much to get a damn piece of plastic out of the toilet.........

While the price was atrocious, the guy was really nice.  I will say he was a great serviceman, but their prices made me really upset.  :-(

Steve's plumbing came yesterday to inspect a running toilet.  What an aggressive upsale!  Very friendly, clean cut techniciam; but BEWARE!  We have two seals and a flapper that need to be replaced on a barely used 10 year old Kohler toilet.  Technician implied the toilet was beyond its age and needed a total rebuild for $467.  Or better yet, they recommended replacing the toilet for $777.

What a rip off!  We were obligated to pay the $59 service charge, plus $5 gas fee (what?) and tax.  For $70 and 15 minutes of BS, we got nothing fixed.

Now we need a REAL plumber who is ethical enough to just repair our simple fixes.

Do not even bother calling them unless you plan spend a lot of money for things you do not need.

Not much I can say since I don't know anything about plumbing but it doesn't leak and looks like it's supposed to.  WIlliam has been out to my house 3 separate times and was on time, professional, and friendly each time.  It would be 5 star but it is expensive.  I justify the price for peace of mind though.

Don't waste your time calling them.Outrageous prices!. Had a leaky copper elbow under my house.  $533  to fix plus a  extra $444 cuz he said it was in a crawl space and hard to get to... Well there is at least 2 feet of room, the insulation had just been removed and a new vapor barrier installed..yea you have to crawl but not on your belly.. and it was just cleaned...  so that comes to almost $1000.. I think I can sweat a piece of copper myself for that price..  Had a couple other items I wanted to address..  Here are there fixed prices.. Replace frost free hose bib $333...  Those things screw on!..  Reconfigure 1/2 copper pipe under sink.... (about 6-8 inches of 1/2 copper, 2 elbows and a female fitting.. another $333..  Replace the shutoff valve to washing machine $188...  wow!!   I have always done my own plumbing but figured it would be ok to pay someone for a couple hours work... but not $1700...of course I could join there club and get it done for a mere $1500...DON'T Call These guys!

What a dirtbag company.  I completely agree with the last post.  I cancelled the $59 service call when the service tech (not an actual plumber), William,  gave me a $400 estimate over the phone to snake my kitchen sink drain.  (no, that's not a typo)  I laughed into the phone and told him I was cancelling calling someone else.  He kept me on the phone and asked if he could come anyway, even after I cancelled him.  I told him he could do what he wanted but I wasn't paying $400 and I had someone else coming. He was very determined that I did not cancel.

He showed up anyway, along with another kid who appeared to be a trainee, looked at the brand new plumbing under my sink (literally opened the cabinet door and glanced in) and proceeded to tell me that I needed everything replaced.  All I needed was a clog in my drain line cleared, not new plumbing, though he pretended to know something and even more offensive, was that he assumed I did not.  I showed him what I wanted done (this has happened before) and he again quoted me $400, and added, but even if you don't do it, it will cost you the $59 fee anyway.  You agreed to it when you scheduled the appointment.  ...uh, which I cancelled and he insisted upon showing up anyway. This was infuriating, and very obviously a sales tactic to size up potential big jobs for suckers willing to pay their insane prices.

I went in to get my checkbook and the other plumber had arrived.  (I found out afterward that this William was insulting me to the competitor, suggesting I don't know anything about plumbing and by this time he has decided that my entire yard needed to be dug up)  and was also asking how much the other company was charging (they sent a licensed plumber, by the way).  I would call this tech a moron, but he was just a young, stupid kid sent out to build sales, and I am sure they probably do get business this way.  Its just a numbers game to these kinds of companies.

I returned and wrote him a check just to get rid of him.  I said, $59 right?  He said, $64.61 after tax, and that's Steve's with an apostrophe in a very sarcastic tone, which sent me over the edge and forced me to call and have my check cancelled as soon as he left.  The gal in the office agreed to tear up the check.

The competitor provided great service and was an absolute professional.  I am glad I did not use Steve's.  Steve, whoever you are, this is a terrible way to build your business.

William performed his job dutifully and promptly. We hardly noticed he was here, which is a good thing. Not only did he fix the problem, but also replaced some faulty pipes under the house which will no doubt prevent any further nuisance. Thanks William and fantastic job!

We called Steve,s Plumbing for a leak problem.  They charged us an up front fee of $58.00 just to come out.  When they got here they were very nice and began searching the ceiling where the leak appeared.  They cut a big whole in the ceiling to see where the leak was coming from.  After about an hour they determined that the leak was coming from the roof.  That the leak was caused by a whole in the roof adjacent to a vent pipe.  The water from rain had come down the pipe and made its way to an overhead light fixture and dripped down onto our rug.  We had them fix a few items in our three bathrooms while they were here.  The cost was very high.  We ended up paying $940.00 for repairs that should have been far less.  Example was being charged $133.00 for a toilet flapper.  You can buy three flappers for $9.99 at Home Depot.

When they left the whole in the ceiling remained.  They had no intention of fixing there mess.

We called Jorve to look at the roof and possible leak.  We were still under warranty on the roof replacement that Jorve did for us.  When the fellow came out he inspected everything he could and found the roof was not leaking.  Jorve is an excellent company.

We called a contractor friend to look at the problem and he found that the upstairs family bathtub was the culprit.  This is what I had suspected all along.  I mentioned it to the plumbers but they disagreed.

I would like to mention that my wife and I are in our 70s.  Do to problems with my hands I am not able to fix things that I would ordinarily do myself.

We now have a minimum of a $700.00 cost to fix the leak and repair the ceiling.  Also, the linoleum in the bathroom has to be replaced do to the leak.

I cannot with good conscious recommend Steve's Plumbing to anyone.  They left us high and wet!

As a real estate agent I frequently have a need for a great plumber I can recommend to clients. I have been using the services of Steve's Plumbing for many years now and they have always been reliable, quick, professional and knowledgeable. It's important that I can count on someone I can trust enough to refer my clients to them!!

I would never do business with this company again. They tried to charge me almost $400/hr for labor alone to repair a broken water line, not including tax and parts.

They were there slightly less than 5 hours and the bill was initially at $2223 total, which included a charge of $537 to replace a 6' section of 3/4 line where the break was, not including the labor to dig it up.  That actual repair was likely 30 minutes of time once it was exposed and at most $20 - $30 in parts. Yes, it was in a difficult area, there were a lot of tree roots to dig through. If it had been an easy fix I would have done it myself for less then $30, but it wasn't and that's why I called in a professional.

You'd think that a company would want to attract repeat customers and promote valuable word of mouth advertising, but they don't seem to care with prices like that. After confronting them about the charges and because there was some misunderstanding about the total, they dropped it somewhat but it still worked out to $317 an hour for labor, not including taxes and parts.

If the charge had worked out to $150 to $200 per hour I would have still been shocked but not questioned it too much, but their rate was totally out of line. Also, I understand charging a fee to come out and assess the problem, but unlike this company, most repair services I've dealt with will roll that fee into the job if you have them do the work.

This work was done over an evening and the next morning. If I had known what the 2nd days charges were going to be I would have paid them for the diagnosis time and found a more reasonable service.

I'm not questioning the competence of Will, the plumber who did the work. He was professional and did a good job on the repair. However, most licensed plumbers are competent, and most aren't going to charge $2223 to repair a small cracked water line.

I have used most plumbing services in Seattle and Steve's was the scariest of them all.
The plumber got his bit stuck and made me think that I need to pay $8500 to dig out his stuck snake. Not cool. Would not have paid it and did not like the pressure. He tried again and got it out. Showed me the picture of the clog and gave me a quote that was twice what I just paid from Fox for a Jet Clean out at my mothers house.

Southwest Plumbing also did my Mothers house and was fantastic. Reasonable and the plumber was very professional.  Try them first.

I've used this company 3 times now and am pretty much satisfied with their overall service. While I do think they can be a bit pricy at times their service is top drawer so I can't complain will continue to call them when I need help.

There's one serviceman that has been to my house a few times, his name is William. He is always courteous and professional and I will ask for him personally on my future jobs if he is available.

FYI, yes I am a Diamond Club member and I believe their monthly fee is a small price to pay for all the benefits that are available to me. Also going to the front of the line is a huge benefit of the club when you have an emergency.

Overall I am very satisfied with Steve's and yes I would recommend them to anyone I know that needs service emergency or otherwise. While there may be lower prices out there I don't equate low prices with the best service.

Well that's pretty much all I got to say now,  I think I need to call Steve's I feel a clogged toilet coming on!!!

I assume these guys don't rip everyone off since they are still in business , but they got me.  WAY overpriced but I had an urgent plumbing issue and didn't want to take another day off of work.  They offered to fix another small issue for free but it turned out they just hand tightened my outdoor spigot so it appeared to be repaired. They also inspected all my plumbing and totally missed a non-working toilet.  I turned down the $20 they offered in return good yelp review.

Way overpriced!!!  Pipes were frozen in this cold weather, and Steve's Plumbing got them working again in under an hour.  The plumber was courteous and knowledgeable, but the price was way too high.  Unfortunately, in an emergency there's not always a better option.  But I would prefer to pay an hourly rate, rather than being charged a flat fee.  In this case, I essentially paid as much per hour (over $600) as I would have paid a senior partner at a law firm, without even taking into account the trip charge.

Steve's Plumbing will be selling you service contracts, hoses, toilets, hot water heaters, and Bio guard. Beware you will over pay almost twice for the service. Do not be fleeced. I had a spigot added to home 700 dollars later after a 75 dollar discount and only a short distance of pipe to install. Just 59.00 to come out and give you an estimate, safety check, and of course a sales pitch. Beware!

Had a leaky angle stop under a bathroom vanity sink. Steve's Plumbing was called out. The plumber that came out was a professional and polite. I took him into the house and showed his the issue. He examined what was needed. I was told that he might have to get under the crawl space to make the repair, or that it might only take only 20 minutes. An estimate of $427.00 discounted to $363.00 if I signed up for their Diamond Service $14.95 a month for minimum one year. I declined the Diamond Service. I felt like the estimate was for the worst case scenario, and that the 20 minute repair would be charged accordingly, so I authorized the repair. Well, the repair only took 20 minutes, and I was billed the $538.74, with their $50.00 off coupon. The total bill was $488.74. I was astonished/appalled at the serviceman for charging me the worst case scenario price. I did make the payment. The repair less the $59.00 come out charge, with the discounted $50.00 off, I was charged $23.987 dollars a minute for the repair. I felt that the serviceman should have stated at the beginning that if the repair was only to take 20 minutes that I would have to pay the worst case scenario price. I think that this was a planned misinformation on his part. I feel that the serviceman did not tell me all, being totally honest and upfront!
I did go to Steve's Plumbing LLC and filled out the form on his web page stating my complaints, but no response from the business.

I would never recommend Steve's plumbing for their outrageous price. First when they arrived, they tried to sell me a yearly contract at $14.95 a month, then they did a free inspection and tried to sell me for $2000+ of preventive maintenance. Finally, they started working on the leak, they replaced a delta TS cartridge pressure balanced in no more than  5mn. I saw the part which probably costs about $20. Total receipt with a $75 discount as first customer: $348. I had a phone discussion with Steve (the owner) and except for saying it is childish to write online reviews, he justified the cost with the quality of his service. The quality was in pare with previous plumbers I hired, not worse, not better, same guarantee (one year) but the price was 3 times more.

I wasn't going to leave a review because I felt bad and Steve tried to rectify the situation but after having a different plumber out I just have to so other people know. My family has had work done with Steve's before and everything was great. But this time it really wasn't. The plumber came to install an inline filter for the fridge but because he didn't read the instructions he installed it wrong and it continued to leak. He also looked at the insta hot which hadn't been working. He realized it just wasn't plugged in a proceeded to plug it in which produced this awful smell like burning plastic so we turned it off.  He also told us our water heater was a 6 year. I checked with the company that makes it (GE) and they said it's a 12 year.
Long story short, the filter continued to leak and he blamed the manufacturer and seemed to wash his hands of the situation.  Then the insta hot started to leak (which we hadn't realized at first because of all the water from the filter's leak). I had a different company out today, they fixed the filter and had to replace the insta hot. When I told them what had happened with the insta hot they said oh, you never plug it in if it's empty, that'll make a hot smell and if you leave it on it'll fry the insides' which is exactly what happened.
To Steve's credit, I contacted him about my experience with the filter (before I knew about the insta hot) and he refunded the money for the install (but not the service charge) which was kind of him but in the end they still cost me $60 just to come out and cause aggravation and almost $400 to replace the insta hot that didn't actually break until the plumber plugged it in without letting the tank fill and fried it. Steve's plumbers are really nice guys but I think some of them aren't as competent as others. They also encourage tipping and do a hard sell of their products so be prepared for that.

Definitely avoid Steve's plumbing like the plague. They are rip-off artists. I have a rental property with a toilet leak and my handyman was unavailable. I called Steve's for service (did not check these accurate yelp reviews) and was told there was no way they could provide an estimate of any kind without seeing the problem first hand (for a $59 service fee). I was unable to join my tenant onsite and when the plumber arrived, he looked at the problem and called me to let me know it was a level 5 problem - their highest level for difficulty and complexity. And the charge would be more than $500 to fix. I was told the toilet would require a complete rebuild. unfortunately i was not there to question the estimate and did not have time to go to Home Depot, buy a new toilet for 150 and install it (they're toilet replacement cost was $750+). The tenant didn't understand the nature of the problem and I reluctantly agreed to the fix. 30 minutes later (yes, just 30 mins) this apparently extremely difficult and complex problem (he replaced a gasket in the tank) had been fixed. This translates to a billing rate of more than $1,000 per hour. So, kids, you can go to school and become a lawyer or a doctor and earn less than a $1000 per/hr or you can work at Steve's, misrepresent the difficulty of a job and then rip people off. And yes, you will hear the ongoing sales pitch to join the platinum club. Good thing people are moving into the area, can't imagine there are many repeat customers out there.

We just needed a kitchen faucet installed, because my husband did not have time to do it himself. I had a Steves plumbing technician come out because they were available right away, and I was promised a fair, competitive price, even though they couldn t give me a ballpark number over the phone. When the technician arrived I showed him the faucet I wanted installed. He shook his head, smiled and told me Moen faucets are the lowest quality faucets, and he cant warranty any part of installing it. Fine by me. Then when he looked at the sink, he said he would need to replace the original shut off valves and drill a bigger hole for the sprayer. When I asked for the price, he wrote up some numbers, then spent literally five whole minutes explaining their Diamond Club Membership discount. When I said thats great but Im not interested, he tried to hard sell me one of the faucets they sell (that he had on his truck) for $562 or $704. That would be on top of $359 for the install and $199 for the valves and dont forget the $59 service charge and $5 fuel surcharge. NOT including tax. He quoted me $622(before tax) to install a faucet that I already bought.
I just paid the $64.61 service charge.
Then I called a different plumber who came out 3 hours later and installed the Moen faucet (he didnt have a problem with it), for a grand total of $249. AND he replaced the shut off valves. AND he didn't have to do any drilling. AND it took only 45 minutes and he never tried to upgrade and up price anything.
It s really unfortunate that other people who call Steves Plumbing are paying three times more for a simple plumbing job, and also being scammed into buying parts and diamond memberships they don t need.

If we could rate Steve's plumbing lower than one star we would.  Their charges are out-of-sight.  First, a $59 service charge just to show up -not so bad.  Then, a sales pitch on a Diamond Service plan at $14.95 per month???????  Wouldn't quote an hourly rate to fix the plugged toilet - just a flat rate of $550.  We were in a bind, and needed it fixed so had him do the work.  Took about 15 minutes - the entire time he was there I didn't feel comfortable with the charge andI quesitoned him several times about the amount of the quote, it seemed way high and IT WAS. We feel like we were completely ripped off.  I would not recommend Steve's Plumbing.

While Steve gives great service as far as doing the job right, his business ethics are horrible. He is way over priced, at least 3 times as much! Our water heater needed to be replaced and he charged us over $1600 dollars to do it. Why did we let him you ask? Well, when it's winter and you have waited all afternoon for him to show up and do the job and you NEED hot water, he pretty much had us over a barrel. When asked what the price of just the hot water heater was he stated we do not give out that info,  Unfortunately I could not get a water heater in from Lowes or Homedepot in for another 2 weeks or I would have done the job myself or had a friend do it. Think twice before you give permission. Don't let him have you over a barrel too. He knows how to work it to his benefit. It's pretty sad to do business this way. There are more reasonable people out there.

I called Steve's Plumbing for a situation that I was having.  For $65.00 they sent out two very pleasant young men who evaluated my problem.  They indicated that for $5800.00 they would replace my on demand water heater but I had much more significant plumbing problems which they would be happy to fix for an additional $10000.00 - $12000.00.  I said that I would do a little research and get back to them.  They left with my $65.00 and did NOTHING to help me.  I called my family member who is a plumber who came out and spent $16.00 at Lowe's on a small part, installed it and my plumbing problem has been perfect ever since.  This company saw a middle-aged woman living alone and recognized a place to snowball the customer.  I will never call this company again and neither should you.

Do not hire this man! His prices are outrageous and unethical. He took advantage of my wife's lack of plumbing savvy, to charge us $133 for a job that a. we did not ask him to do and b. required about 5 minutes of work and at most a fifty-cent part. Specifically - Steve, when asked to repair our kitchen faucet, recommended to my wife that he replace the plastic P-trap. The P-trap was not broken. Even if it was, replacing a P-trap is a five-minute job that requires no tools (it can be hand tightened). For this, we were charged $133! I called Steve after the fact to ask him if he felt that this price was really fair. He insisted that it was. This is highway robbery! He had the audacity to charge a visit fee on top of the $133!

I made an appointment with Steve's plumbing and based that appointment on the yahoo reviews. I made a huge mistake not reading yelp, and I also feel foolish, being a pretty seasoned person getting bids and having things repaired.
I had a simple clogged drain. The fellow showed up, we had a nice talk, he cleared the drain in ten minutes, and we talked for a while. I handed him my credit card, I didn't think I handed him a card to then grossly overcharge me.
I have had numerous drains cleaned in buildings over the years, I manage many of them. For a simple drain cleaning such as this and the time it took, the highest ever charged was $250. I have no idea why I did not ask him how much he was going to charge going in, other than they appeared to be a reputable company.
They charge a service call of about $59, and it would just make sense that a $100 to $150 per hour would be in order at the highest. This very nice fellow took my card and came back with a charge of over $400 !!!!
I couldn't believe it, it blew my mind, and I felt really stupid. I knew I handed him a blank check, not asking the price before he started. But I have done this many times before and I  know what  is charged and yahoo review rating was pretty good. I am not sure how that rating  is the case, unless they wrote them. All the negative yelp reviews regarding steve's plumbing is exactly what happened to me. Having a drain cleaned is the bread and butter for some plumbers, and you pay a premium, but this is highway robbery in my and many others opinion.

We had a pretty significant kitchen sink clog and based on reading reviews for various plumbers we were expecting it to be expensive for what would seem to be a very simple procedure.  We were right and if you're desperate like we were and there isn't a lot of time to shop around all choices are expensive.

I am fairly handy and tried taking apart the trap, snaking the pipes, using a water pressure bulb device and using home remedy chemical reactions (baking soda, vinegar, hot water) all of which did not unblock pipe.  It was really blocked and due to a family health emergency, I didn't really have any more time to mess with it. I called another plumber and explained our situation and all the things we did to remedy our problem.  He said he wouldn't really do anything more than I already had and referred me to Steve's Plumbing who had more advanced equipment to address the issue.  I called and the woman (I suspect Steve's wife) who took the call was very friendly as I explained in great detail the problem and my steps to fix it.  She quoted me a $59 house call which seemed reasonable and fair but when pressed for an estimate to fix the problem, she did not or was not able to provide further detail.

As I had to go to the hospital to attend to the family emergency, I left my wife to wait for Steve. When Steve and his assistant arrived within the prescribed appointment time, without even looking at a thing he immediately quoted my wife $369 + the $59 service call to fix the problem ($430 + tax).  I'm not sure why the woman who booked our appointment couldn't provide us this quote on the phone but it became obvious to us as the experience progressed.  My wife called me to let me know and we both agreed it was fairly expensive but in the range of what we expected (~$400).  So as Steve's apprentice got on the roof and began snaking the kitchen sink vent tube on the roof.  Steve began the sales pitch.  He first suggested that we need to service the entire system and he would not be able to guarantee the work without it.  He offered two options; 1) a special hydro-pressure cleaning for around $700 which would immediately clean all the pipes or 2) several bottles of bio-chemical cleaner for $180 which if used overtime would clean out the pipes.  He recommended the bio-chemical cleaner, to which we declined feeling it was something we could investigate and if good buy cheaper later.  Then Steve recommended we replace our garbage disposal with an $800 higher power unit that would better pulverize the garbage. We declined as our unit seemed fine and I was fairly certain I could find a better value if truly needed.  Lastly Steve recommended to my wife a maintenance plan for $120/year which provided a 15% discount on service, priority scheduling, a better service warranty and an annual inspection with adjustments.  We declined feeling that we were getting sucked in to something that would not be a good return on investment.

They finished up the work which took about an hour. The work fixed the problem and a day later seems to be holding up.  However, if you use Steve's plumbing be ready to be the captive audience for multiple sales pitches of questionable value.

If I had limited choices I might use Steve's plumbing again, but likely would seek out another plumber.

We called Steve's Plumbing on a Friday night for a main sewer line block. They were very accommodating and scheduled Richard to be at our home at 7 am the next morning.  He arrived on time, even calling to let us know when he was 10 minutes out (which we greatly appreciated).  Richard and Jared were polite, explained their prices and what needed to be done to fix the problem. Within an hour, the sewer line was cleared out and they were cleaning up after themselves. They were quick and friendly and I would gladly recommend them to friends and family.  We were extremely happy with their service.

I was just sick to my stomach when I found out how much Steve's Plumbing charged my dad for sewer line repair.  They claim to be within the pricing guidelines, but I was just stunned at the price.  And they signed him up for some membership package with a monthly fee.  Absolutely ridiculous.  To be fair, the work was done properly.  We had it checked out by someone from a different company. He said Steve's Plumbing did a good job, but their business would have done the work for about half.

In 2012 I had a Bosch water heater installed.  I asked my neighbor (a journeyman plumber, who I didn't know well) if his company could give me an estimate to have my new Bosch tank-less water heater installed.  My neighbor gave me an estimate of $2000 to install the water heater.  The water heater worked for about a month and then it started switching between hot and cold; not a good thing when you're in the shower.  I talked to my neighbor and he said it could be a venting issue and try it with the garage door open.  That did not fix the issue and so long story short it turned out that he did the job under the table.  He came in uniform with the company truck to do the work but he wasn't on the clock and therefor Bosch would not honor the warranty.  At this point I was not happy as the water heater was new and cost $5000.

I called Steve's plumbing and they sent out a plumber who told me Bosch is a crappy company and they wouldn't warranty it.  At that point I just wanted it fixed, rather than fixing it he told me that the plumber who installed it was stealing gas off of my furnace and that I needed a new gas line from the meter.  He also tole me I should buy an Eternal tank-less from them as they are rated as the best by plumbers everywhere.  Another huge chunk of cash and I had an Eternal tank-less water heater and hot showers.  That I could have lived with.  It doesn't end there though, Richard talked me into purchasing an Eternal with their Diamond club membership which would give me a lifetime warranty but I had to belong to the club without canceling for a year.  In listening to him and yapping away I signed and initialed a diamond contract which states if you cancel you void all warranties.

Prior to realizing all about the diamond contract and the warranty I recommended Steve's plumbing to my mom.  All she needed was to have her hot water tank re-hooked up.  She had some finishing work done by a contractor in her basement and they had to move it to get to the wall and concrete behind. We knew they would only disconnect it to do the work but that they would not reconnect it.  ALL she needed was to have it hooked back up.  I told her about how nice Richard was and how the owner Steve helped me with the gas company to get the gas leek in the street fixed (the gas was coming up from under the street into my yard).  The plumber they sent (I don't know which one and she was too upset to remember) made her feel stupid and he pressured her to buy this diamond contract AND told her that she didn't need both water heaters hooked up as she was the only one living there.  It didn't matter what the plumber thought, she wanted them hooked up anyway.

So when I realized my credit card was still being charged for the diamond club after the one year ( bought the water heater and diamond club in December 2012) I wanted my membership canceled and for them to quit billing me $14.95 a month.  I called Steve's plumbing and his wife/sister (the other owner) cancelled my membership telling me I now had no warranty and let me add her rudeness hasn't helped either.  So I'm thinking, wow-they sold me a water heater I should have a warranty through Eternal but because I'm not going to be in their club anymore I now have NO warranty.  Even the Bosch, had it been installed correctly, had a 15 year warranty.  Wow, Eternal and Steve's isn't so great after all.  Mind you I have No complaints about the quality of the Eternal just the quality of Steve's.

I called Richard because I still had his cell number.  I left him a voice mail stating I wanted to talk to Steve.  Richard called back but I was at work; he left me a voice mail stating he would have Steve call me.  Steve called soon after and left me a voice mail but again I was at work.  He said he would call the next day (Friday).  I called the number he left me stating I would be transferred to him only the same woman answered the phone and said he was off that day.  Today I got to speak to Steve and yes my warranty is void as the contract states and that Eternal only had a warranty on a part inside but if I kept my membership at $14.95 a month it would still be valid: parts, labor and everything.

While I do believe that the Eternal is a good product I'm not impressed with Steve's plumbing, their customer service within the office, and the fact that I referred them to family with such a bad experience makes me say, seriously consider moving on to the next plumber and check their reviews.  A truly good product will have a warranty, with or without a Diamond contract.  Their is no forever in Steve's Diamond.

I called Steve to fix a clog in my shower drain.  The garbage disposal was backing up into the line and I was worried that it was something more than a normal clog.  Steve was professional, polite and fixed the problem immediately. Before he started working, I was shown a rate card describing the cost for the job. While it seemed like a lot of money, I wanted the drain fixed and I was lazy about doing some research on the cost of such a job.  My husband usually fixes household problems and he was out of town for the week.  When I told him that the cost to fix the drain was $418.00, he nearly had a heart attack. I'm not sure if he's going to speak to me ever again. Anyway, the total amount of time it took for the job was an hour.  I know it is my fault for not making myself better informed, however for the next person who runs into this situation, do your homework so you don't get overcharged!

Beware of this company! We needed to identify a leak under our driveway in the main line, at the request of our insurance company. No problem, said the lady who answered the phone. She said they could do it and that she'd send someone out right away, explaining that they'd have to charge $68 for a service call. All right, fair enough, but when they arrived they apologized and said they din't have the equipment to idenify a leak like that, and then proceeded to tell us that we really didn't need to identify the location. It would be a waste of money, since the line had to replaced anyway. OK, made sense. They could do it for $5,000, they said. They could start right away. They told us it did need to be done immediately, or our water bill for the month would be over $1,000. They also spent 45 minutes pitching us on their club program, where we could sign up for a monthly charge and any future plumbing needs would be discounted, which we declined. Then they collected their $68 and left, and sent us a nice little Thank-You post card. The end of the story is this: A month later, after agonozing over our $5,000 dilemma, we decided to do it ourselves. We rented the equipment and replaced the line for under $500 (concrete cutter, jack hammer, boring aparatus, piping, misc tools). And the $1,000 water bill? It was $250. Reiterating what Doug M. said. These people are crooks. Don't let them anywhere near your door.

We hired Steves Plumbing on the advice of a friend who's in the construction industry. It was a big job and we needed it done right. After getting a few bids they were the highest bidder but we took our friends advice and hired them. They came out, got the job done, and Dan was very nice. We were offered a discount if we joined the club. Because of the size of the job we did it for the discount (it saved us more over the year than the cost of the monthly fee). It's now been a year since they came out. I called to cancel the club and monthly fee and I'm told that our warrenty will be voided if I do. The way it was said didn't set right and I felt like ...So NOW they won't stand by their work?  Any company who you have to pay to stand behind their work is NOT the sign of a good company in my opinion. I am sure now that they were not the correct choice. Suckered and punched in the financial gut is not how I want to do business in the future. Will they do the job right? Yes they will ... will it be a fair deal ... well it wasn't for me. This is the first review I have ever written about a company and I will never hire them again. PS...I spent about 1000 dollars more than the medium bid for this job so it wasn't a little higher, it was a lot higher. Shop around because there are other plumbers that will do the job right too that will look out for the customer.
