We hired PK Electric to install an outlet to charge an electric car.  I called around 8 electrician businesses to get quotes and not only did PK Electric have the best price, they were available the soonest.

Additionally, Michelle was always very courteous on the phone and handled the scheduling and job perfectly.  The electrician showed up exactly as promised on time and the job came in exactly as estimated. I wouldn't hesitate to use them for future electrical jobs.

For anyone who doesn't want to read my entire review, here's the gist: Never hiring again, would not recommend to anyone.

We saw amazing reviews on Angie's List, so decided to give these folks a call a few weeks ago. We told them that we have a firm appointment with another company installing sump pumps to deal with our house flooding issues, so we really needed to get an electrician out to put in outlets and make sure the wiring could handle the load by today (December 1st). Getting the electrician scheduled to come out and do an estimate was the easy part, despite a couple of reschedules - he made it out, seemed knowledgeable, gave a great quote of around $300-$400. Great! Let's do this.

Trying to get the bid sent out and the appointment scheduled is another story. We waited a couple of days to get the bid so we could sign it (which the electrician said would only take a day). When it didn't arrive, we called and were told later today and, the next day, some time tomorrow. This went on for several days.

Coming into yesterday (November 30th), the bid still wasn't sent and we had no confirmation of an appointment other than oh sure we can do that during a couple of phone conversations. I called in the morning, was told that our bid was now being put on top of the late pile which was currently being worked on (Sorry, I'm just so far behind! from Michelle on the phone), and when asked point blank about whether our appointment was scheduled she said The electrician will be there tomorrow at 10 AM.

Ok, fabulous.

We (finally!) got the bid emailed a couple of hours later, and it was for between $200-$900 more than we were originally quoted by the electrician. Interesting. Incredibly, the email containing the bid also said that our appointment was definitely at 7:30 AM - Also - regarding the time, I mentioned noon on the phone but we will be there at around 7:30, so there is sufficient time to do the work. So... 10 AM, noon, 7:30 AM? Which is it? We figured that the time set down in writing (email) was the correct one, and scheduled our work days accordingly.

Today arrives, and there's an email in the inbox from around 6 AM: Checking to see if you want us today? Seriously? My partner responded yes, and settled down to wait for the electrician to get here.

My partner was dutifully ready at 7:30 AM - I'm sure you're shocked to find out that no one showed up. After 10 AM came and went with zero contact from PK, I finally called to find out what time we could expect the electrician... and was told Oh I think he's working on another job right now, maybe noonish? (direct quote - maybe noonish). I got a bit upset at this point and asked if there was anyone else we could speak to, and was told that she (Michelle) was the only person in the entire company that we could contact. When asked why that was, she said I'm the owner. Wow, ok.

I said We are very frustrated, our appointment has been changed multiple times already and we need to make sure that it's actually happening today. And she literally said, and I quote, Well, I wanted to hear from you yesterday but didn't. WHAT? We'd spoken with her both in phone and email multiple times yesterday, not even counting the many times over the last couple of weeks! Plus, what kind of customer service is that?? We've had to call in ourselves to find out anything throughout this entire process, everything was late and/or not matching the original quote, and now you're going to snip at me when I'm telling you that we're frustrated and unhappy?

The only reason that we're going through with this appointment today is because we were jerked around til the absolute last minute and *need* the work done - which they knew from the beginning, and we're frankly beginning to wonder if this was done on purpose to get us to pay double what we were originally quoted. The only other option is that Michelle really is not that great at backend (quotes, scheduling, customer service, etc), in which case I'd highly recommend that this family business go out and hire an office manager who knows what they're doing if they want to keep things running. I noticed a new Angie's List review that was just posted a couple of weeks ago indicating that other people had the same experience we have, so PK might want to look into fixing this problem fast.

Never hiring again, would not recommend to anyone.

UPDATE: the work was done quickly once they got here, and the only complaint we have on the work is that one guy left before everything was done and the other almost left without doing anything with the pile of drywall that was pulled out. When asked if he could take it with, he said I guess so, do you have any garbage bags? Not very professional. We're still waiting for our invoice so we know how much we're being charged (today is December 7th).

UPDATE 2: It's now December 17th and we still don't have a bill.

I have never written a yelp review before but am so frustrated that I just had to.  I have completely lost confidence in PK Electric.  After waiting for an appointment that was scheduled weeks out, electrician didn't show.  
I understand stuff happens, and they offered to come out the next day.  After not being able to make first appointment at 7:00, they changed it to 10:30 AM.  Electrician showed up 5 minutes early; rang the doorbell (which wasn't working and one of the issues I needed help with) and then left.  PK offered to send him back in 20 minutes; I agreed.  They then called back and said it would most likely be within the hour.  I expressed my frustration and was told that I should probably find another electrician.  Wow, so rude.  You bet I will!

PK Electric was wonderful! They were the only company that answered when I called, returned follow up calls, then went out of their way to work with my schedule and help us when we really needed it. Showed up when he said he would, and fixed it all quickly. All for a reasonable price!

We needed someone to install a new outlet in our crawl space for a sump pump. The company who worked on our drainage system told us that they work with PK for this kind of job all the time. So I called them thinking it should be easy to work with them if it is something they do regularly. Wrong. I had to call them three times in two weeks to just get a ball park figure for the job. The lady said someone will get in touch with me for first two times I called. No one called us. Third time, I finally got hold of a lady named Michelle who were very helpful and gave us a rough estimate.

The electrician showed up our house at 7am as they promised , which was nice. We first thought he was drunk or on something... He didn't seem to be neither present nor coherent. It might have been too early for him, I don't know...,he got a little better as time went by. My husband decided to stick around till the job is done feeling uncomfortable leaving this guy and I alone in the house.

In the end, the job was done and the cost was a little more than what's been quoted. We think this would be the last time we'll hire them for any job.

Have used them in the past but never again. Electrician purposely ran the clock to add to the billing hours. We already knew what needed be done, as we had diagrams & a to-do list (complements of high rise project manager-a relative) He ignored everything we said. Lied about the wiring in the panel, lied about how to fix the problem (his solution would have cost hundreds).

I would highly recommend this company.  We have used them in the past and they are competitively priced.   Equally important is that they are honest.  I called them as I had used them in the past.  When the woman asked me the problem, after quoting me the rate, she said that it might just be a tripped GFI and told me to check the whole house .  She was correct.  It was a tripped GFI.  Neither of the other companies I called made the suggestion, in fact, one acted like it was a tough problem.  So please call PK for their honesty and good rates.

After almost a year, get a call from customer service that we had an outstanding balance.  We had never received an invoice or billing statement.  When I told the customer service rep that the technician failed to complete the work/did not have a dimmer switch, she tells me you are a piece of work?! ~ seriously, is this how you speak to your customers? From the looks of these other Yelp reviews, some customer service training might be a good thing?  Just saying.....

My ceiling lights went out in my condo on Mercer Island which is a block away from P K Elec. The service man arrived on time. He tighten some screws in the switch box, but he could not fine anything else wrong. (20 minutes - $175).  About 3 weeks later the same lights went out again.  I went to the PK electronics to request a follow-up customer service. A female (possibly and owner) went bezerk. She lashed out at me in anger yelling and accusing me of falsifying my claim.  When I tried to say nothing was fixed and the same problem occurred...she became even more agitated.  I left frightened and shivering, I am an 82 year old senior and was not prepared for such an explosive outburst. I paid my bill.  I very very  much regret that going through this lingering bad experience which continues to recur in my thoughts.  Please, do not go there.  Sweet at first...then, vicious and lack of customer service.

After a failed attempt at an appointment, they were able to come out and make the needed repairs. Since it occurred a month later than originally scheduled, they did the work without charging me.

Very poor customer service.  They came to install variable light switches in my 7 year old house, which I thought was a straightforward job for an electrician.  Boy was I wrong.  The electrician must have been the same one described above since he was incoherent and took over 30 minutes reading the directions on the box.  I also had a horrible time getting the office to correct a problem with an electric product they installed and that had to be returned because it was faulty.  Their help was not going to cost them anything but about 5 minutes of desk work.  I made about 15 calls to them because they kept promising to send a receipt to the manufacturer and never did!  I will never hire them again and I can't recommend them after this miserable experience.

Great Service. Came out as promised and on time. Gave estimate for job, cost was exactly what the estimate said. Very friendly customer service. Highly Recommend.

Have used them twice and both times, service and quality of work have been great.  At the second appt, there was a slight delay in apt time, but I was contacted and schedule fix handled courteously.  Needed installation of recessed lighting and asked on-site for an addition of an outlet.  All installed professionally and with care, clean up, and respect for surroundings (e.g. floor covering).  Our electrician Steve even did some minor patch work of a small drywall opening due to having to work around a ceiling joist.  The one aspect that wasn't agreeable was that I was charged for the full hour, so any time over translated into an hour billed - I was billed for 2 hours of work for 2 outlet installs though the installs didn't take 2 hours.  All in all, great experience and would recommend.

They couldn't fix the problem, so they referred me to a specialist for my generator.  Although I had to pay two companies to get my generator up and running, PK Elelctric had to eat some of the billing because they couldn't fix it, I appreciated it since they did spend approx. 3 times the actual time i was billed.  Employees are really nice, I would try them again.
