Merv Electric

I pinged Merv via their webform at 9:55pm last night regarding a GFI that kept tripping taking out numerous outlets. less than 10min later I got a text saying one of their schedulers would contact me shortly. At 8am I was pinged again asking if today at 4pm worked (it did) and has an estimate for parts & labor (very reasonable - cheaper than most just to come out).

Electrician arrived (Pasha?) slightly early, masked and gloved. He replaced the GFI, but it kept tripping. 45min of detective work later, he identified the faulty outlet outside (original from 1987, so not weather resistant resulting in oxidation of the outlet) and replaced that too with an up-to-code outlet. for 1hr of work, and replacing 2 outlets (one with weather shield too), the overall cost was quite reasonable. And all that given next day service.

Well done Merv Electric! would definitely recommend.

I was extremely satisfied with my end-to-end experience with Merv Electric.  I had, what I would consider, a large project to modernize a 30-year old, 6000+ sq ft home.  We wanted to: 1) wire a new home theater with a 7.2 configuration, 2) add 7 wall mounted TV locations throughout the house, 3) hard wire smoke detectors up to current code, 4) network a home office, 5) neatly organize the central networking cabinet and 5) new lines out to the utility.  At the last minute, we also decided to add new can lights to 3 of our bedrooms.  Pasha and his team took care of everything and I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

As others have noted, when you call, you get a prompt response from an electrician.  Pasha came over, met with me to discuss the details, and sent me an itemized estimate with detailed descriptions.  This was great because it ensured we were aligned on the scope.  For a project with as many action items as mine, this was extremely useful.  Once we were able to come to an agreement on the scope, price, and materials I would provide, he was able to get me on the schedule.

The work was phenomenal.  They were able to run all the wiring through the attic to each of the locations.  Some of it was a bit tricky because of the complex roof structure with lots of cables, but they were still able to make all the runs clean end-to-end.  They ran new networking, new speaker wires, and new power runs separately to minimize interference.  

In retrospect, I valued the conversations about which materials (e.g. smoke detectors, lights, networking cabinet hardware, etc.) would be better for me to provide instead of Pasha picking them out for me. These are often up to personal taste and preferences, so it not only reduced cost, but it also made it easier for me to get what I wanted.

I was also very particular about what I was expecting.  I had a vision of what I wanted everything to look like once it was done.  In addition, the existing low-voltage wiring in the house was a mess (some through the attic, some through the crawlspace, it was a maze...) and I definitely was looking for something much better.  Pasha communicated well, providing status updates and discussed with me how they were handling particularly challenging runs.  Pasha also responded well to questions and feedback and started to anticipate my questions and adjusted his execution plan according.  Pasha and his whole team definitely delivered!  They were hard working, detail-oriented, and delivered great customer service, which was visible every step of the way.

If you're looking for a solid electrician, I think you'd be hard pressed to find one better than Pasha and his team!

Merv Electric did great work in our house. We had some specific requests for moving electrical outlets and adding a dedicated line in our kitchen. Their work addressed our requests to a T. Though they are not the least expensive option, the quality of their work is worth it. I have full confidence in the work that they do

I had someone from Merv come out to assess a fridge that was tripping the circuit breaker. He was prompt and polite, but told me to try the fridge on another outlet and see what happens - either there is an outlet problem or a breaker problem.  It was $275 for him to tell me that.  3 days later, I call back to update him on what happened and cannot get in touch with him after email, voicemail, and the website is down. Not sure what's going on but I feel like it's fairly pricey and poor customer service.

Some reasons why I chose Merv over other electricians:
- when I called an electrician picked up and scheduled an estimate with me right away instead of having to speak to a scheduler like other big companies
- they arrived promptly and didn't try to up sell me.
- the price quoted was fair
- the electrician worked with me to figure out an innovative solution to my issue when other places recommended I more expensive solution
- the electrician talked me through the process and educated me as he worked

Pasha replaced and updated the panel in our home when we added a new addition. His price was the best I found after calling a number of electricians. He was courteous and professional. He fit us into his busy schedule and even finished the job on a weekend to make sure we completed sooner. He's even stopped by a number of times since to evaluate a couple electrical issues we had during our kitchen remodel. He saved us money when we thought we needed to replace a wire. He found the wire was fine and that an outlet simply needed to be cleaned up inside. We trust his opinion and pricing over other electricians we consulted. Highly recommend Merv electric for new or replacing old electrical work.

Were first to respond,  were able to come out sooner than I thought,  knew just what to do, and got it done.   It was really expensive as an hourly rate,  but I was glad to get things taken care of so efficiently.

I needed to get a 240v outlet installed ASAP and reached out to Merv Electric. They responded quickly, quoted over the phone and were able to schedule less than 48 hrs out. fair pricing and did excellent work! Will certainly use again.

Excellent service - prompt, efficient, incredibly knowledgeable. I would highly recommend and absolutely use their service again. We had several projects we hired him for (several outlets, EV charger) and they not only did they provide the most competitive rates, they were incredibly knowledgeable and offering multiple ways to achieve our intended result. They discussed the pros and cons of each option and ultimately gave their own recommendation (which was actually the cheaper and more cost effective method), saving us thousands of dollars. Additionally, their work was impeccable, accomplishing all projects with no damage to our dry wall, obviating the need for any dry wall repair/repainting. Highly, highly recommend. We plan to hire them again for some additional projects we have planned.

Called Merv Electric to install common wire to power my Nest thermostat.  They came off as confident and voiced to me what needed to be done.  Arrived early and got the job done quickly.  However, after he left I discovered that the thermostat was still not getting power.

I promptly called to ask about the work and if he could come back by to take another look.  The response was almost immediately defensive and argumentative.

In the end, I learned that low voltage HVAC-related installs are better left to a HVAC tech.  However, I wish Merv Electric had been more clear about what they could and could not do...money wasted on my end.

Great customer service! They responded very quickly to a last-minute request and gave an estimate over the phone that seemed right in line with others we had received. Some unexpected construction issues meant we couldn't have him do the work he had come out for. He was wonderfully understanding and his communication during booking the appointment and for scheduling was great. We plan to bring him out again when ready!

Absolutely loved the response time and professionalism and expertise offered by Merv Electric.  Used their webform and got a text the next business day and Alex was out later that day and fixed the issue immediately.  Needed to separate a switch that had the front porch lights and interior entry way light on the same switch.  Plus checking another light switch for us.  Courteous, professional and quick.  Highly recommend.

We highly recommend Merv Electric. We had them work with us on lighting solutions for our entire first floor. Scheduling was very prompt (they were able to come out for a bid within a couple days of calling and then were available for the project in a couple weeks of our accepting the bid). The bid was competitive and very fair and included all aspects of the project including some molding work, which is not traditionally done by electricians. Overall they were very professional, prompt, and exhibited high quality work. Five stars and would recommend for sure.

Pasha and co did a fantastic job installing an EV outlet in my garage. The electrical panel was in another room, but Pasha routed the wire through with minimal cut to the drywall. There was attention to details at every step. I'd definitely hire again for future projects.

Loved that they showed up in mask, wore gloves and shoe covers. They replaced a chandelier in our dining and exhaust fan for our bathroom, they did clean, quality work. A little bit price but responsible, responsive people, don't have to wait several weeks to get appointment.

I saw a review about someone needing a Cadet wall heater replaced and after a blowout with mine, I called Merv Electric to help diagnose what was going on. The technician told me that it was just old and burned out but I didn't need to worry about safety by removing it. He put on some new caps and told me what I needed to do to get it fixed. He suggested a path where I didn't need to call him and another where he could do it. I appreciated the honesty and his professionalism.

These guys are fantastic! I had a problem with a heater not working in one of the rooms. These guys gave me an appointment right away for the afternoon. Showed up exactly on time, wearing a mask, wearing the shoe covers. Diagnosed the problem in about 5 mins to be because of a thermostat, had a new thermostat equipped with him. Fixed that and the heater was working right away. The best part was it only took half an hour to diagnose and finish the whole job! The price was reasonable, i had called around multiple folks and these guys did offered a price that bet most of the professional folks. And the best part was for this particular job, they guy absolutely knew what he was doing and for once did not shutdown the main power of the house or even the room etc! They guy who did the work was even funny and told me a story about that!

I would absolutely first call these folks again for any electrical needs and recommend to all my friends as well.

I called this morning and left a message, not expecting to hear back today (a Sunday). Someone got back to me right away and gave me a reasonable estimate. To my pleasant surprise, he was able to come out the same day. He was polite, efficient and did a great job installing a 220v outlet for my EV charger. I would highly recommend Merv Electric!

We needed a big job done - installing a second electrical panel in our 60-year-old house, and then having a line from that panel extending all the way down the length of the house to the exterior (60 feet maybe) for an A/C disconnect, through the ceiling. Not an easy job. Merv Electric was great - from reaching out to have an estimate done, to getting the work done exactly as expected, to having the city come out to get the permit - it all rolled out exactly as promised. The work was done on time, permit was approved, and we are happy customers. I would gladly work with them again.

We had an outlet spark and knock out power to several others. I called Merv Electric on a holiday weekend, not expecting to hear back from anyone until Monday.  Alex called me back within 20 minutes and was at our house in about an hour. Everything was fixed quickly for a reasonable rate. Alex even gave me a hand moving a heavy piece of furniture that I was struggling with. He was polite, nice, and very competent. Would recommend Alex and this company any day! Definitely who my family will be calling from now on.

Highly recommended! We needed a couple of light fixtures replaced, and a couple of fixtures diagnosed that didn't work. From the beginning, Merv's communication with us was great. They asked questions, provided an estimate, scheduled the work (plus were super patient about our having to reschedule) and then came out and did the work as promised. A+

Merv Electric is fantastic! Staff was friendly on the phone and in person. They quoted us about $400 less than Ohm electric and were able work with our schedule better, coming out sooner. They wore masks and gloves the whole time of they were here as well. We would use their services again!

Merv's Electric installed a Cadet wall heater and a crawl space GFCI outlet in my home. Pasha & Max did a great job assessing, planning and executing the jobs; conferring with me along the way with any questions or to give me options. After so many disappointing jobs and outcomes during a major renovation, it's so nice to have quality work, caring customer service and a positive experience.

To make it clear, this review is not about service, it's about the quote I received on the phone. Base on almost all 5-star reviews, I contacted Merv to request a troubleshooting service on one of my dead outdoor outlets. After listening the issue, the person who answered my call told me it will be $467 to troubleshoot and minor repair the issue. I thought I heard it wrong about the quote, I had to confirm the price with him. My company deals with electricians all the time, I understand they are expensive, hourly rate starts at 1xx/hr, but, $467 is really high. Maybe they provide outstanding service, I wouldn't know, since I did not use their service.

I had an issue where I had no electricity in a portion of my house. I called Merv Electric in the morning. They promptly returned the call within 20 minutes, and a technician was at my home within half an hour. Amazing! The technician was very professional, and did try to do anything more than what was needed. Overall a very positive experience. I'll definitely consider them for my next electrical project.

I used Merv Electric to have an outlet installed in my home.  Parahat showed up at the scheduled time and was respectful of our home by being prepared with shoe covers and was wearing a mask.  I'm extremely satisfied with the work that was performed, I didn't have to clean anything up afterwards either, which is always a plus.  Though I only requested the outlet to be installed, Parahat was more than willing to look at a couple of other things I had questions about and offer up recommendations on how to address them.  I will definitely contact Merv again the next time I need an electrician.

This is my first time using Merv Electric.  Comparing them to another company I used for another home, Merv is professional,  on time, courteous, responds quickly, easy to work with, and satisfaction is there number one priority!  I called them regarding my house in Bellevue,  Poscha came the next day, gave me a comprehensive bid, started work within a day, and finished on time!  Poscha was very patient, and answered all of my questions, you couldn't find a more respectful person.

We used Merv Electric to do several days worth of projects around the house (pot lights, new outlets, replacing bathroom fans, new circuits, etc.).  They were fantastic and we're very happy with the results.  They left their work areas very clean.  Always wore masks.  They were very responsive via email.  They adapted to various minor changes I requested.   The prices were very fair.  Everything past inspections.  Overall, very happy with the results - I highly recommend to others.

We had a problem with some strange noises coming out of our circuit breaker panel. We called and they were able to come out that afternoon. They looked over the panel, tightened some loose connections, and investigated further to make sure there weren't any overload issues. They replaced a couple outlets that weren't working properly in the kitchen.  All in all, Pasha was knowledgeable and very helpful describing what he was doing. He was prompt, fair and reliable.

Rearranged my schedule to have someone come out to give me an estimate on work needed. No one came. I called 30 minutes later and they said they couldn't make it today. Disappointing and disrespectful. A simple call the day before to reschedule would have made all the difference.

Hired Merv Electric to replace some outlets and an outdoor light fixture. Showed up on time and was professional and competent. I would definitely hire this company again if I need to have electrical work done.

Needed the electrical panel updated to 200 amp service.  
There were a couple challenges and I'm happy with the end product.
Merv Electrical arranged with PSE to turn off the power.  Power was disconnected about 8:00am.  Pasha and his helper arrived and were surprised power had already been cut.  They asked me to arrange with a neighbor to run an extension cord for their tools.  Panel removal and installation went well, although it was after 7:00pm before they were done.  There were challenges with the permit, the inspector and getting the panel signed off after being completed.  That was resolved in a few days.  The new panel required a new mast through the roof.  After several return visits to fully seal around it, it was agreed to have the roofing company that did the original roof do the repair.  After an additional two and a half months; Merv Electrical was not responsible for the delay, the roof is finally sealed again

I needed an new circuit and outdoor receptacle installed in back of yard. Merv Electric responded promptly and sent an estimate, and after work completed, invoice via email.  I was scheduled at end of week, but fortunately electrician had availability sooner.  I am very satisfied and would use their services again.

Our breaker was not working on Saturday evening. Called them and they came in 45 min and gave us temporary power. Was fixed the next day. Great customer service and professionalism.

I called to report a problem at 330pm and they were out by 415pm. I had what ended up being an issue with the generator breaker box that I didn't realize (haven't had a generator before). Awesome job, professional, friendly and insightful.

This is the second time I used their service. Pasha came in time and helped me to rewrite one of the outlet quickly. It took about 20 min and it is done. Now I have patio light on my balcony. The rate is lower than some others I quoted. I could not ask for more!

The owner sent out Pasha, who has 14 years of experience. Pasha is intelligent, fast, knowledgeable, has a broad base of experience, took photos as he worked in the attic crawlspace with the transformer, and explained the issue clearly. So had an electrical panel problem mid-day on a Saturday and called almost all of the companies listed that said they were open on Saturday's.  None called me back until Monday.  I was able to get the panel partially working to get us through the night on Saturday, but it went out for good first thing Sunday Morning.  For some reason Merv Electric didn't come up in my original search on Saturday, but they did on Sunday.  Called Merv and Pasha returned my call within minutes.  Pasha and Isaac were at my house within an hour.  Turns out I only had a single phase working and the problem was caused by a blown transformer.  They wired the most important things (fridge, furnace, lights etc.) to run on the single phase while I had PSE come out and fix the transformer.  Since I knew I needed to upgrade my panel, I had them give me an estimate for the upgrade.  Having done similar things in the past on other properties, I knew the general price range and Merv proved to be extremely reasonable.  Long story short, PSE fixed the transformer and I had Pasha and Isaac come back and do the panel upgrade.  All the adjectives you want with a service provider: friendly, dependable, experts, great service, honest and reasonably priced.  I highly recommend Merv Electric.

First time using this company, and I found them on Yelp.  I sent a message via their website at about 8 am on a Saturday.  Parahat emailed me back just an hour or two later that they could stop to take a look on the very same day-a Saturday.  4pm, Parahat is at the door as promised.  As it turns out, my problem was simple for an electrician.
