If you can get them to do your work with your schedule there's no two ways to think about it. Like seriously.
I had a clog over the weekend and they were unavailable until Monday. So I had to hire somebody else. But I decided to keep my appointment to get a scope done instead. I am so thankful I didn't go with anybody else.
They are experienced and knowledgeable, they came prepared and heard all my questions and concerns.
And the most important bit - their prices are almost half of the other companies and simple to understand - fixed hourly rate. Doesn't matter if it's a scope or a cleaning. They didn't waste any time and got right to work. Showed me camera footage clearly. And they were done!!

Best plumbing experience I've had in a long time. Chuck and Brian were incredible nice and knowledgeable. They walked through every avenue to get my clog resolved. Although they were ultimately unable, they were fair about the cost and provided great resources moving forward to have the issue resolved once and for all. I will certainly be calling chuck first thing any time I have an issue with a major clog. Because even if they can't solve the issue, they know exactly who in the area would be able to. Thanks!

This is our first time calling a plumbing service and it was an amazing experience thanks to Chuck and Brian. They were able to come 1 day before the initially scheduled time and finished the work in 45 mins! They cleaned the clog first and then identified the root ball which is some 20 feet away from my house in the pipe and cut it out. We searched through yelp for good plumbing companies and called many of them. Some of them offer quotes way out of our budget range while others encourage us to do work that is not necessary. I'm very happy that we went with Green Lake Sewer & Drain I would definitely call them in the future if I need plumbing service again.

In the midst of a big Seattle weather system, Chuck not only answered the phone but was able to come to our house within just a couple hours. He and Brian identified the immediate issue, cleared the blockage in our driveway drain, and then scheduled a return a few days later to deal with the drain spouts. They gave us suggestions on how to maintain the areas in the future. They were super fast, friendly, and efficient. They gave a reasonable quote and that is what we paid. I've owned and lived in several craftsmen homes, circa 1900, in the Greenlake area - and I've had to call in side sewer experts many a time. Finally, I've found a local company I can trust. Chuck and Brian came out after telling me exactly what I could expect for charges. They showed up exactly when they said they would. They did exactly what they said they would do. They got me up and running again for far less than I would have paid someone else. And, most importantly - to me - they took the time to tell me how to keep my system healthy and avoid serious expense in the future. The last two companies that came out did quite the opposite, and tried to up-sell me with dire warnings (and expensive excavation services) and proprietary root-kill products. I'm sticking with Chuck and Brian.

These guys are awesome. Used them to clean out the sewer on our new house, and the original sewer report from the seller suggested that we might need a hydro-jet. Brian came out with Ray, and after taking a look at it, they said hydro-jet would be more expensive, and actually be bad for our sewer pipe. They cabled it, and fixed the issue quickly and inexpensively.

We then used them to clean out the sewer in our old house to get it ready for sale. Here, we needed hydro-jet, and Brain, Chuck, and Ray all came out. Because of access issues, this was a tough job. I think a lot of other companies would have given up on it, but they were able to get all the roots out without damaging the pipe.
Great work, cost effective, know what they are doing, and they don't try to upcharge you (and don't adjust their pricing up if they think your house looks pricier. Honest company. Highly recommend!

These guys are great. They are timely, knowledgeable, not too spendy. It sucks having to worry about your sewer but Chuck and company make the process smooth and easy. Plumbing emergencies are one of those nightmares you hope you never have to face. I've heard such HORROR stories. The Pipe Doctor recommended GreenLake Sewer so I checked out their reviews here. As you can see, 5 stars all the way. They were responsive, prompt and never tried to upsell us on anything. In fact, they offered a menu of options. I feel so fortunate to have found these plumbing heros!

Thanks to Chuck and Darius who just left. Super impressed with them. Friday night water started coming up from a drain in the basement, so I assumed that a drain was clogged. Called GreenLake Sewer and Drain on Saturday morning and they arrived less than 1 hour later! They took a look, and quickly diagnosed that the issue was not with the sewer but with the sump pump. They then gave me the name of the right person to call, and then said something that I never thought I would hear - no charge, we were in the neighborhood anyway. Who does that?? When we do have a sewer issue, I know who I will call.

My washer drain backed up with water all over the basement from a large load. Called a plumber who didn't find a blockage in the stand up pipe so went to a sewer company they recommended. That sewer company said I needed to do an external drain pipe and jet my sewer, then add a liner for total of 14K. A few other bids did not recommend this and it was totally confusing. All the other plumbing was working fine.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GREENLAKE SEWER !!! After 3 consultations they were the most direct and honest. All I needed was a snake into the sewer from the already existing inside drain opening. They advise using ROOTX fall and spring. Two guys own this business and they don't try to upsell you. I would not go with any other company. They are the BEST in Seattle.

Got the dreaded clog from the main house drain, was called back within a couple of hours of leaving a message, and Chuck showed up this morning, exactly on time.

This man is the John Wick of killing roots and anything else in the way of a healthy drain.

He was THOROUGH, and I mean thorough, running his snake several times until he was satisfied the clog had been obliterated. You're open, he said.

He had great gear (which he disinfected before and after the job, a nice touch in these COVID-19 times.)

When he was done, he also disinfected the area which had had a black water spill due the clog.

They had to come multiple times to fix the issue they were paid to do. I frankly don't trust their employees but their manager Brian is good.

That said, any company whose employees say they did a job and didn't isn't a company I can work with.

Chuck is a stellar guy. He was responsive and honest. When I told him about our exterior drain issue, he offered to come by and take a look free of charge. He identified some potential issues and solutions, and gave us a range of pricing. It was much lower than other companies we talked with. Chuck sent Brian and Raymond out the following week. They were able to quickly diagnose the issue, which wasn't as big as we thought it would be. They showed us the issue on the camera, quickly took care of it, and then explained how to prevent it in the future. They then told us it would be a smaller charge than expected because it turned out to be a smaller job. We were blown away with how helpful, honest and communicative everyone was. Chuck even gave us a recommendation for a plumber to handle another issue. I hope to not have a sewer or drain problem in the future, but if I do, I will call Chuck in a heartbeat. Hard to find good people like him, Brian and Raymond.

Chuck and the team at Greenlake Sewer and Drain are absolutely fantastic.

He was honest and up front about costs and timing on the phone. When he got to take a look at the situation in person he suggested a method that was quicker, cheaper, and easier on the old pipes than what I had originally inquired about.

They were on time, worked quickly, cleaned up everything and provided lots of things we can do to keep our annual root induced backup at bay.

Other plumbers have suggested permanent fixes in the $20,000+ range and Chuck was incredulous. He said that a permanent fix could be had for less than half of that.

While these guys don't have the ability to get to you 24/7, if your problem can wait a day or two you should absolutely call them

These guys are great. Really honest and very fair pricing. Unclogged the main sewer of my house, showed me that the block was fairly close to the main clean out and not near the street as I had assumed, and showed me how I could try to clean any future blocks with a garden hose before calling them. Scoped the full sewer onto DVD and showed me that the clay pipes below the street were in good shape.

We had originally called a different company referred to us to clear our sewer drain. They showed up without the right equipment which obviously didn't complete the job, billed us for it, then suggested we have them come back with their hydro-jet costing many hundreds dollars more.

Then we found Chuck with Greenlake Sewer. He showed up early and had the job done even before his scheduled appointment. He is friendly, thorough, fair, and dependable. We like to have regular maintenance on our sewer drain to clear roots before it becomes an emergency. We will be calling Chuck from now on to keep that drain clear.

How refreshing to work with a home services professional who 1) calls back promptly and communicates clearly 2) comes the same day, and quickly at that and 3) attempts to resolve the problem most efficiently and give you a referral if out of their scope.

Chuck is knowledgeable, friendly and honest. Even though our issue was more appropriate for a plumber (as opposed to sewer), he stuck around for 30 mins to check everything out, help put our sink back together and give us tips and resources - all fee of charge!

Life SAVERS!!

Our sewer line clogged and started backing up. The first plumber who came out said they could only unclog the sewer line by digging up my neighbors driveway and part of the road which would have been extremely expensive.

Brian came out the same day I called them and were able to resolve the issue without digging up my neighbors driveway or any part of the street. They used hydra-jet and were able to clear my line within 2 hours at a fraction of the price the previous plumber quoted.

I called 7 different companies and found Green Lake Sewer & Drain not only the most affordable, but also the most responsive. I called in the morning and was offered a site visit in the afternoon. We had some blockage in our gutter drain and are so glad that we spoke with Green Lake Sewer & Drain. It was the only company that was honest enough to tell me that hydro-jetting (the more expensive process) was not necessary and could destroy our concrete pipe. I was informed about reasonable options to solve my problem (and no upselling here, since they don't install rain barrels or flexible pipe draining). The sewer scope was also very reasonable, and I appreciated that I was invited to look while it was being done so that I could see what was going on, and they could explain what I was seeing. I definitely *highly* recommend this company!

Chuck came out and fixed a clogged drain in my washer/garbage disposal today. I called on Saturday night and he came out this morning at 10am, exactly on time. He was pleasant, efficient, and had my drain unclogged in an hour. He explained everything he was doing, and he also explained steps I could take to avoid the same problem in the future (for future reference, don't let coffee grounds go down the kitchen sink). The price was fair. I will call him for any sewer or drain problem I have in the future.

Chuck literally saved us thousands of dollars. We had another company come out to clean our basement drain that was backing up. They told us there was a problem with the pipe that would require us to possibly replace it. I stopped listening after I heard jack hammer . We called our contractor who sent us to chuck. Turns out they snaked their cable through the wrong hole, (seriously, wtf??). If you get a fishy story from another sewer company, have chuck come out and check it out, he only charges if he finds something is needed. I can't recommend Greenlake sewer highly enough!

Called these guys for an urgent sewer line cleaning, they came out when they said they would (a bit early, even) and their rates were very competitive. I've had half the sewer companies in town clean our line over the years, and I'm pretty sure this was the least I've paid. Will definitely call again.

Chuck and Brian were really awesome. The sewer lines under our house were not well designed (illegal/not up to code).

Despite that they were able to clear the blockage and recorded a DVD of the plumbing so that the next person we hire can see what they're dealing with.

Really wonderful group, very pleasant and down to earth. And pricing was very fair. I would definitely continue to work with/hire the Greenlake team in the future!

THE BEST THERE IS!!!! I have used GLSD for hydro-jetting my driveway drains that were over-whelmed by rainwater and I have called them more than once. These guys are wonderful...professional, kind, honest, decent and always do what they say will do. They take the time to explain the process, make you aware of all charges and then complete the job in an efficient, reasonable, timely manner. I wish I could give them 10 stars as they truly deserve them. Don't bother calling anyone else because they are the best. Most folks don't know what hydro-jetting even is and when you say plumber or sewers people get anxious. But there's nothing to worry about with Chuck, Brian and Raymond; they are the dream team!

Not sure what I can add that hasn't already been covered in all of the amazing reviews. We have a recurring back up problem that typically rears it's ugly head at all the wrong times. This time many plumbers were not working the weekend but Chuck got back to me in 10 minutes and was at my front door within the hour. He cleared the clog, was courteous, honest, funny and trustworthy - and all at a very reasonable price. It was a pleasure and Chuck (Green Lake Sewer) is now at the top of my speed dial. Yeah, when your sewer starts backing up and you're thinking, Great. How much is THIS going to cost? you head to Yelp, read the reviews and hope that you've rolled the dice and picked the right guy.
And this time, I won.
Chuck was a tad late, but only because he was helping the previous customer who had a tricky situation on her hands, but once there, you could tell this is a stand-up guy.
He came in, did his thing and was in and out in 40 minutes, getting our drain back to full-flowing. I had called a competitor that was recommended to me, and they said they couldn't come out until tomorrow. Their hourly rates? Exactly the same.
He also passed along some tips about the right toilet paper to use, as most of the ones you probably don't break down and do nothing but help him get more business.
A straight-talking Brooklyn native that hasn't lost the accent, has a hard-work ethic and pride in what he does because it helps people.
One of the best customer service experiences I've had in a long time.

I had a washer that decided not to drain - of course this happens on a Sunday - Chuck returned my call immediately and was willing to come straight out to look at it (although I asked to schedule for a weekday).

When Chuck arrived, he took a look at the offending washing machine who decided it was perfectly happy at that point. He drained the machine twice with no problems, so Chuck said there would be no charge for the visit! A honest business owner who understands loyalty and honesty is more valuable than squeezing the wallet.

And then - he gave me a few tips to help keep my plumbing working well in the house. Highly recommend Chuck and I will call him again should anything happen.

I had a plumbing emergency involving an overflowing toilet (the horror!) and found Green Lake Sewer & Drain on Yelp. I was pretty impressed with all the good reviews and the 10 minute average response time. It was on a Sunday night and the owner Charles still responded very quickly and was able to come out early morning next day! Just had a great experience with Brian and his helper from Green Lake Sewer. They cleared out a clog in our sewer line. They saved me a lot of money compared to the other quotes I received - a lot of money. $275 to clear a sewer line in the Green Lake area is cheap. They tried very hard to clear the line before it needed hydro jetting and they succeeded and save me the addition $700 charge. They were able to clear the line with good plumber knowledge and a desire to give good customer value.

I would advise anyone to use their service.

When the kitchen drain in my condo clogged one evening, I couldn't get relief using home remedies. Seeing many favorable Yelp reviews of Green Lake Sewer & Drain by folks in similar situations, I left a phone message early the next day. Chuck returned the call in about half an hour and was able to set an appointment later that morning. He arrived within his stated one-hour time window, worked quickly to snake out the drain, cleaned up the area, and was done in 40 minutes. He even had the foresight to check the apartment one floor below in case my repair might create a problem lower down in the common building drain pipe.

As he initially told me, his charge was for a minimum one hour, at a rate that seemed reasonable for the market. I tend to prefer a sole proprietorship like Chuck's to a larger, less personal company, and could not have asked for a more competent, efficient, and personable service individual. Would recommend GLS&D to anyone in the area with a drain or sewer issue.

After some heavy rains We had our drains back up in the basement. It was pretty heavy and made quite a mess. Our mainline needed cleaning and the backup wasn't draining. We couldn't run our water. Called our usual plumber, never heard back. Decided to call a company new to us, Green Lake Sewer and Drain. They said they could come out the next day at 11:00 am. They showed up at 10:50 and quickly got to work. It didn't take them long to clear up the problem, clearly they really knew what they were doing. There work was neatly done and very professional. On a personal level they were very friendly and happy to talk about their work, offering useful tips and advice. The cost was much less than what we were charged for the same work a few years ago. We were totally happy with their service and won't hesitate to call them again should the need arise.

Had an issue with my downspouts going into the ground and thought I needed them to come snake it out. Turns out they didn't need to, it was a design flaw that I had to get fixed. Although they didn't have to do much, they were very helpful, professional, and even went through the house to see if there was any other issues they could help with since they came out, at no cost. I'll be using them again for my plumbing needs.

Our Kitchen sink decided to clog for good on a Sunday. I gave Greenlake drain and sewer a call and left a brief message. I received a call back very soon after and was given a next day appointment with a very reasonable arrival window. Chuck arrived on time and unclogged the pipe like a pro. I have to give this place 5 stars, and would give 5 more if I could. I sent a message through yelp because of his reviews and he did not disappoint. Within 10 minutes I had a message back and he was going to come by in 2 hours. His rates were reasonable, he was friendly, he didn't try to up sell me or drag out the time he was here to fix the issue. While I hope to never need him again, I would most definitely recommend him to anyone who needs these services.

We have used Green Lake twice in the past year (we learned about them from the PNA) and have been very happy both times. Chuck knows his business, shows up when he says, returns calls, and doesn't gouge on prices or try to sell you stuff you don't need. These qualities make him a stand-out character in a sector besmirched with dubious business practices, especially with the current construction boom. Next time I have a problem, I am calling Chuck again.

I had a blocked sewer line at a multi-family property we own on Queen Anne and needed help quickly. I sent a request through Yelp and received an email and phone call from Chuck within 30 minutes. These guys move fast and they care about not only the work, but also the people. And that's rare! Even with a plumbing and sewer line emergency on Christmas Eve, Chuck and Brian snapped into action and did everything in their power to help. They moved fast to investigate, they recommended smart solutions, they checked in at all points. When things got hot, they stayed cool; and as a customer who doesn't know what he's doing, that's so much appreciated. My contractor recommended Chuck to clear the drains in a bathtub and sink in my rental condo. Chuck is speedy, efficient, friendly and direct. I liked him so much that I recently called him to clear out a drain in our home. On both occasions, Chuck offered some friendly tips/watchouts - and best of all, booking time with Chuck is easy cause he texts (and responds QUICKLY!). I can't recommend Chuck and Green Lake Sewer enough.

I had tried to snake a pipe and my snake got stuck on New Year's Eve. The friendly owner himself called me back on New Year's Day! I was so surprised and then, personally came out to take a look at my situation the next day (Jan 2nd). One look and he knew it was a problem that required the removal of the wall and more extensive work. Rather than charge me for a trip fee, he gave me a referral to another trusted plumber. INTEGRITY and HONESTY is a high value of mine and he was top-notch. I will certainly look them up again in the future and could not have been more pleased with the excellent service!!

Brian from Greenlake Sewer and Drain treated us right from beginning to end and even beyond. Had sewage water in the basement and called Brian. He couldn't get here right away so he gave me names of plumbers who could root our line. Called one, he tried but said he was hitting dirt. I called Brian back and started digging my hole to expose the problem area. (Want to save money - dig your own hole. But make sure it's a good one.) Brian came out and removed the bad sections, rooted the line, scoped the line, replaced the bad sections and sadly pinpointed the next place we had to dig.
He charged us $550 for the work. A good price in the sewer business.

When you have sewer problems you tend to freak out a bit. Brian was incredibly responsive and answered all questions, phone calls and texts. He couldn't get back for the next repair but was once again willing to give names of plumbers he trusted. He's only one guy so he may not be available but if he is - go with Brian.

I needed a toilet in my home snaked. After having companies not return my call, or telling me they were too busy, Green Lake Sewer and Drain took my call and came to my home later that day.

The guy showed up - he was professional and clean. He snaked the toilet, ran downstairs to make sure the clog passed, gave me some advice about the type of toilet paper we are using, and left. It was all pretty quick and I was impressed with the service.

I only gave 4 stars because I noticed that the toilet bowl is a little scratched from the snaking. However...it could be that this is inevitable...

Excellent experience -- Chuck is professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and communicative.

On a Saturday, just four hours before hosting a dinner for eight, our main bathroom toilet suddenly had brown water in the bowl continuously. I called a plumber who referred me to Chuck as the drain expert.

Chuck not only called my while I was actually leaving a voicemail message for him, he assured me that he would make it to our home not only that day, but before our dinner started (following his work at two other locations).

As promised, Chuck called before his arrival. It turned out that we were lucky - it was only a rust issue that could be remedied fairly easily. Chuck then looked at our home's general setup and advised as to future issues to look out for.

Really impressed! Chuck came out on a Saturday afternoon (I think within an hour of us first calling him - which was awesome) and fixed our clogged sewer in no time. We had called a few other companies first and the bids ranged from $500-$1,000 w/o them having even seen the problem. Chuck quoted us a price on the phone ($150 an hour) and fixed the problem within the hour. He's honest, transparent, and a nice guy - we already talked about having him and his business partner come back out to look at replacing our water heater. Two thumbs up from us!

Chuck was very responsive, he came out to the site the following day I called. He was punctual and professional. Chuck diagnosed the cause of the problem, examined the sewer line, unclogged hair trapped in the master shower drain, explained the cause of the problem, and suggested ways to prevent future drainage issue. Chuck is very knowledgeable, I will definitely hire him again. He charges by the hour for the first hour and by the quarter of the hour subsequently. I'd much rather hire a local business owner as opposed to big franchises which generally charge a site visit fee + a substantially highly hourly fees.

Short opinion:
Green Lake Sewer is a small business and Chuck (the owner) is the person you speak to on the phone and the person who comes to do the work. I would describe Chuck as honest, personable, thorough, and knowledgeable.

The story:
My sewer backed up at night on a weekend in heavy rains. It took several calls to find a company to come out and unblock it. The company that came out said that their service included a free (nothing is free) camera scope which they came and did the next day.
The free service did not include providing me with a copy of the video. The line was intact without obvious bowing or breaks but with areas of root ingrowth that were responsible for the blockage. They recommended that I replace the line and provided a quote for the work (big bucks). I was skeptical and after learning a bit more (both about the problem I had and the company that did the initial work and assessment) I contacted Green Lake Sewer (based on previous Yelp reviews).
Chuck responded promptly to my Yelp request. When I called he said he could be at my house in 30 minutes (and he was), told me what he thought needed to be done and what it would cost.
Chuck and his assistant (trainee for whom he was very careful and conscientious about teaching, supervising and safety) along with the Spartan 300 (motor driven snake with a large cutting blade) cleaned the roots out from my line. The cost was reasonable and exactly as stated over the phone. Chuck answered all of my questions and made recommendations which included repeat cleaning and assessment in a year to get an idea of how fast the roots will regrow. He had me fill out a reminder card which he will send in a year and I will certainly have Green Lake Sewer return in a year for this service.

We did not make it through the first ten minutes. Why? Because you cannot work with a contractor that does not listen to you. We have two different problems... a sewer problem and also an issue with our gray water sump pump. Brian insisted they are the same problem. After two and a half years living here, I can tell you without reservation that they are not (although the sewer problem can clearly exacerbate the sump pump problem). But Brian had already jumped to conclusions and barely feigned interest in hearing what was actually happening, so it was clear that I needed to find a contractor that could listen. The alternative is racking up hundreds or thousands of dollars of fees and then finding that your problem is not fixed. Note to other contractors... Although customers are sometimes wrong, they are sometimes right. In the former case, be tactful. In the latter case, listen!!!

Helpful and reassuring from the initial phone call to the cleanup. This was my first time roto-rooting so I didn't know exactly how it worked or what kind of bottom line I should expect. One of the first things he told me on the phone was that I shouldn't pay more than $150 for a basic roto clean out, and that alone saved me a good $200 as I was calling around to see who was available the soonest. Mike had over a decade of specialized experience, came the same day I called and arrived EARLY in the the window they estimated (Thank you!), completely respected keeping the house clean (guarded against splatter and removed his shoes when entering the non-flooded part of the house), was articulate about what he was doing, and made sure everything was clean and operational before he left. I hate feeling helpless and this was a great experience.
