Great Northern Electric is a high end, custom residential electrical contractor specializing in service, repair, upgrade, and residential remodel/new construction. Located and serving our neighbors on Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap for over a decade, we have over 30 years experience and can diagnose and repair most electrical issues on the very first visit. We are certified Washington State electricians. All our workmanship is compliant with the current National Electrical Code and our materials and equipment are all UL-approved. HISTORY

Established in 2002.
Great Northern Electric was established by a long time Bainbridge resident and built into a thriving business. After managing the company for a number of years, lead electrician Augie Tyminski took over operations in 2014. Now the sole owner and operator with a great team behind him, Augie makes it a point to provide excellent service with an emphasis on safety and quality for our Bainbridge Island neighbors.

We had wonderful assistance from Lisa at the Silverdale store buying new appliances. The Beko dual fuel range unfortunately just didn't meet our expectations. We tried to work with it for a couple of months and decided that it just was not the best unit for our needs. We worked with Lisa and James about our options and they went to bat for us with the local Beko rep Jason. We got a prompt and courteous call back from the Beko regional service manager who said he would personally come to our house to address our needs. He was called away on a family emergency and rather than have us wait Albert Lee's James and Lisa arranged for us to simply swap out the unit for another one that better meets our needs. How wonderful to be treated like this! Both Albert Lee and Beko deserve the highest of ratings.

They did a good job with part 1 of the install. However they failed to schedule a return visit for remaining items despite many attempts to contact them. They did not return any of my calls over several weeks. Very disappointing as my initial interaction was favorable. I know we all need to be flexible with the impact of Covid and labor shortage, but a simple return phone call is not asking much.
I cannot recommend.

There are so many things that I feel comfortable doing in my own home. In fact a few things I would feel completely comfortable doing in anyone's home. I can paint, tile, install a new faucet, and I even feel pretty good about installing a new ceiling fan or light fixture.

But, then along comes something I don't feel comfortable with at all. Electrical issues fall into that spectrum. I hired Great Northern in late 2014 to do several things at my house, of the electric variety. Moving a ceiling light fixture from the corner of a room, to the middle of a room, do some work on some outlets that I was having issues with, etc.

- First, the company has been around for a long while and I had the sense that they aren't going anywhere.
- Second, I was able to discuss all my concerns and develop a workable solution with Augie. He listened and gave great feedback and thoughts on how to handle my electrical issues.
- Third, the whole crew are certified Washington electricians. I felt super comfortable with the level of knowledge.
- Forth they were able to do the work quickly and at a rate that didn't make me faint.

And, I guess the final thing is, that I haven't had one issue with the work in over a year.
I highly recommend Great Northern Electric.

Great Northern installed a Cummins generator for us two weeks ago. Augie and his team did a great job and were very easy to coordinate and work with. Augie also coordinated with plumbers for the gas line we needed. And he was great at responding to email quickly, which was very useful for my husband who works long hours.

We love the generator... it worked perfectly and kept us warm and cozy during the recent storm! We would definitely hire Great Northern again and recommend them to all of our friends.

I had a problem a few weeks ago with a fan switch and a friendly skilled electrician named Augie fit me between calls to diagnose problem then came back from his shop with replacement switch same day. They are awesome and Julie at front desk won't leave you hanging.

We live on the island and have used them for years!

Augie came out to install a 240V plug in my garage, while there he looked at my panel and recommended a whole house surge protector which was an easy install. Prompt, professional and answered all of my questions. Highly recommend!

Our home had series electrical problems after a recent storm. The negative flow power line disconnected and electricity surged through the house popping light bulbs and blowing-out several appliances before the fire department told us to turn off the circuit breakers. After the power was restored, Great Northern Electric checked the house to make sure the electricity was safe to use. They recommended we put a surge protector on the entire house and provided on-line resources so we could learn more and make an informed decision. They installed the surge protector during a second visit to the house. Both service calls were handled professionally. They arrived when they said they would. They worked with the limitation of a crowded space around the circuit board. We appear to have no electrical problems. I rate my experience with Great Northern Electric with 5 stars!

WOW! What a great company. The owner left a Seahawks game on a Monday night to help our renter with dimming lights and an odd clicking sound coming from the electric box. Who does that? Thank you so much Great Northern Electric!

My fiancé and I had a extremely positive experience with Great Northern.. We hired them to install some new lights and put together and install a very tedious chandelier. We were very happy with their hard work, professionalism, and the final outcome turned out great! We will definitely continue to use them any time we need electrical work

Great Northern is a 'great' vendor. We had a recent need to repair and upgrade some of our bathroom lights, fans, heaters and outlets. GN promptly responded to our inquiry, offered a variety of options in different price ranges, produced a email quote and, most important, arrived when they said they would. They were very considerate about minimizing their impact. (Shoes left outside) and completed the job on time. When I asked after the installation that a fan motor be upgraded and a light dimmer be reinstalled (it was accidentally removed), there was absolutely no hesitation and was completed the following day. I recommend GN unreservedly. DRH
