It was great to finally have a plumber that was professional. I've had to deal with tradesmen that are late, always have excuses, are unprofessional, and just plain old dirty. Atomic plumbing was able to schedule me that week, showed up and finished within their time, and did a great job. I'll definitely use Atomic Plumbing again. They were awesome.

From the call back on the Fourth of July to the service provided early the next day, I was completely satisfied with the response and quality of work.  The Front Office team were timely and courteous.  As was Mr. Randy Creekmore, who came to our home.  All the work was explained clearly, done professionally, and cleaned up thoroughly.  I will used. Atomic Plumbing for all my work moving forward.  Thank you.

Very satisfied with their service from my initial phone conversation with Katie to the service by Robin!!!
Robin explained in detail what the problem was and how he would remedy it! Although a little higher cost than expected I understand that nothing is cheap in these times and that quality and value factor into the cost! I called this morning and Robin was here within an hour or so! Very satisfied and will use and recommend in the future!!! Thank you Katie and Robin!

Atomic's service was good from the point of contact. They set the appointment, confirmed it in an e-mail, and the tech. arrived just as scheduled. Sean did a great job clearing our clogged drain pipes and worked efficiently, he was done in no time and left absolutely no mess behind! He was very clean-cut, courteous and friendly.  We will probably use Atomic again.

Very knowledgeable , great Customer service and quality work! The company was great at keeping me updated on the status of my work request! Robert was sent out to assist me! He was very polite and clearly knew what he was doing! He explained the repair and why it was needed! He went over pricing and the timeline before the repair. He was quick and professional in his repairs and tested them before departure! I am very satisfied with my service and would recommend to anyone looking for assistance! They were able to repair my kitchen sink and dishwater the day they came to give me a quote!

Called needing help with a water heat. Talked with Meagan who was great in getting me on a quick list for service. James Meyerhoff and team member Tim showed up within three hours of my request. I consider that great service. They were polite and explained everything that would have to be done. Other team members brought the parts needed to complete the job. James and Tim worked steady and explained to me everything that they were doing to get me satisfied. They got the job done, checked everything and completed the job. I felt the cost was a little more than I thought, but with the service and workmanship I felt it was well worth it. I  certainly would used them again as  needed. I highly recommend this team and the company. I was quite pleased. If I was scoring them on a 1 to 10 scale with 1 being low and 10 being high, I would surely rank them a 10.

My wife and I highly recommend technician  Ryan Swindell at Atomic Plumbing. He helped fix our tub/shower issue...he was honest and a true professional. My wife called me after Ryan left our home a raved about him and told me we found our plumber.  Based on our experience with Ryan, I highly recommend Atomic Plumbing to anyone looking for an honest and reliable plumbing service!

We discovered our water heater was leaking on a Friday night. Called Atomic (they stay open until 7p!) and they came out the next morning (Saturday). Randy C. installed a new water heater that day. They charged a flat fee (no extra charges for Saturday service). Randy did a great job and was very professional. Atomic is our new plumbing company!

One day, the Virginia Natural Gas came by to inform my family that there was a gas leak and it started to flow into our crawl space. They had to secure the gas line and this event came at the worst time. My wife and I just had a newborn in the house and it occurred during the beginning of the winter season. We were faced with a real emergency! The following morning, I called Atomic Plumbing and they were able to schedule an inspection for me on the same day. Sean and Kale came by and were very professional and explained everything in simple terms. They told me that they would do their best to get this done within two days. They also provided military discount into their pricing. So they replaced two pipes that were extremely corroded and installed brand new ones on the same day. They also wrote the permit and sent it to the city hall. On the second day, they scheduled for a City Of Norfolk inspector to come out and verify that everything was within regulations and safe. The only thing I had to do is call the gas company to reconnect the lines again. Overall, I was very satisfied with their customer service. I will definitely call them up again if I ever had an issue on plumbing.

Deanna was able to get James and Paul to our house promptly to address our plumbing issue last week.  THANK YOU DEANNA!  James and Paul were efficient is diagnosing the problem and discussed with us the way that it could be taken care of as well as our financial responsibility before beginning the job.  We were very pleased with their professionalism and work ethic, as well as the technology used to assist them.  This is the 3rd time that we have used Atomic Plumbing and will continue to do so whenever the need arises. JAMES AND PAUL ARE AN AWESOME TEAM!

These people are pretty freaking awesome. They've come out to my house for several different issues now - all revolving the dang water heater. My water heater has Issues with overzealously heating my water. Crazy, I know.

The first call was for replacing the water stop valve. Pretty cool dude (Jim?), very nice and knowledgable - I love that they wore shoe covers to protect my crappy carpet from their boots. I even protested and told them that was overkill, but they said, company policy. shrug. Oh, and I got a free plunger. Nice. That thing works. :)

Second call involved replacing the busted expansion tank. The technician came out, suggested I replace the water heater (my poor bank account said no), and noticed that the heater was installed by Atomic YEARS before I moved in and, after a call back to the office, was still under warranty. Awesome! Another free plunger.

Third call was a month ago. Water heater. Dead. At this point, I was smart enough (or dumb) to enroll in their VIP program (15% discount on services) - cuz, let's face it, Atomic and I are basically soul mates at this point. A panicked call on a Friday afternoon before the Snowmageddon had technician Matt out at my house within the hour to check out the issue. He came back the next morning (Sat 9am!) to replace the heater and now all is nice and cozy in my abode. No free plunger tho. :(

Until the next plumbing fiasco... at least I know who to call!

For the second time in as many years, Atomic Plumbing has saved the day. I came home to a flooded house and within an hour of my call (on a Sunday!), Eric T. arrived. He was empathetic and polite. He gave me a quote on the spot and got to work immediately.

Once the problem was fixed, he diligently cleaned up the mess made in the course of his work, even though I told him I was happy to do that myself.

I need additional work and Eric took the time to write up an estimate and, without pressuring me, encouraged me to call Atomic when I was ready to have the work done.

Without a doubt, I will use Atomic for all of my plumbing needs in the future.

$$$, but what're you gonna do? I think they're all that way. $500 bucks for less than 2 hours work including driving time to go back to the shop and get the needed parts... But that's my only complaint--the rest was great. I almost tried to do it myself, but turns out if I had tried, I would've made a mess. Big Jim was knowledgeable, professional, and did great work. Dispatch was responsive and clear. Next time I need a plumber, I'll call these guys and ask for Big Jim.

I was quoted $1700 to replace a cracked standard bathroom sink and to fix a minor leak coming from a different sink.  I asked the lady on the phone to give me a breakdown of the fee that I was quoted because I thought that was extremely high.  She was unable to give me a breakdown so I decided to call a different company.  That company came out and fixed both problems and I just received their bill for $449.  That's quite a difference in price.  Atomic is a rip off.

I swear they must pay people to write their Yelp reviews. They are by far the most expensive plumbers. I'm talking marking up materials over 100% and labor of between $400-$600/hour. It's ridiculous.  Yes they come out immediately and they act professional. I would wear shoe covers too if I could charge attorney rates for plumbing.

If you use atomic you better be ready to pay three - four times the price. Other than that the service is good.

Atomic called today and apologized for the mix up in my plumbing needs. They were very nice and professional. Also got a refund for the home visit. Even though atomic did not do any work at my home they made my day. 4 stars for there positive  communication and professionalism. When you call atomic talk to Beverly.

This is my first time using the company and the nice lady who answered the phone was very helpful, professional and cordial. She explained everything to me and asked if i had any questions. They use flat rate quotes. I got got scheduled 5 days out because it isn't an emergency. I will update my review after the service is rendered.

Post Service-
Atomic Plumbing arrived on time and day that was scheduled. First I received a call notifying me the technician (Don) was on the way. Then my technician Don arrived very presentable and professional, i was pleased. Being a plumbing you can only do so much with your uniform. He was very knowledgeable and patient with me. He fixed all issues and provided options on which way i can go about fixing the issues. They honored my military discount to help me save on cost as well. Don went over invoice and warranties to make sure i fully understood everything. He started and completed the job in a timely manor. Actually WAY faster than i expected. Its safe to say i will use Atomic Plumbing again, hopefully not in the near future.

Would put 0 stars if I could . I called to get a quote on cleaning my bathroom toilet drain (I've already disconnected the toilet ) and resetting a toilet back into place. The lady who took my call (Chelsea) was very polite and nice. However, after I asked her how much to clean the line and then reset the toilet she said she would have to charge 69$ for a quote ! The technician would show up, look at the job , give me a price, and if I didn't accept them for the job they would charge me 69$ fee. If I did get the work done it was no charge at all . So basically it costs 69$ to get a quote from Atomic plumbing. I am a senior construction inspector and find it appalling I would have to pay 69$ for a quote. I get there is certain variables in fixing issues and it would be reasonable to give a ball park figure for repairs and remind them it could change during the repair if other problems exist. Would not recommend if looking to get a reasonable quote for work to be performed or repair work. If so plan on paying before they even turn on the truck .

I called Atomic because of the great reviews they had on yelp and because I had another company come out a few years ago and I thought it was to expensive. Atomic told me they would come take a look and quote a price then. They said all their work was guaranteed I believe she said 90 days. The woman on the phone said they're a family company that treats people right. Well that turned out to be completely false. The price ended up being triple what I paid before with another company $560 to snake about 50-75 feet of line and oh by the way it's now not guaranteed because they said roots were in the line. They never told me that stipulation when she guaranteed for 90 days before. Only after the job did it change. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!  Crooks!!! Awful experience. I just can't believe they took advantage of me like they did. Just terrible!

FOLLOW UP. Owner made things right.  He stood by what I was initially told on the phone. That's good business.

Atomic plumbing's Justin and Eric were professional, knowledgeable, and just really nice guys. They arrived on time explained the project steps (switching out a toilet and vanity sink) throughly and then gave a competitive estimate for services. My home was built in 1958 and is a challenge and surprise anytime we open up the walls. With each obstacle, like our crumbling flange, Justin explained additional steps needed with options for repair and of course cost.
After a full day they were still polite and left the site clean of any debris. I highly recommend Atomic and will definitely use them again as we continue to upgrade our home.

The owner, Jim Steinle, contacted me and made good on his company's promise of 100% customer satisfaction. He listened to my concerns, and while we may disagree on what an appropriate price is for the work that was performed, he was adamant that he make me a happy customer. He promptly refunded my account by an amount that I thought brought the price into an entirely acceptable range. These guys stand by their word, and because the work was done well and in a timely manner, I have updated my review to match my new, much improved opinion of the company.

It was extremely hot today; mid-July in coastal Virginia can be oppressive.  Over 100 degrees!  Shockingly, the thing that broke in our home was not the HVAC system but it was the hot water heater!  Go figure.....??

Anyway, we have had very good experience with Atomic Plumbing on several occasions in the past and so we called them.   BTW, lots of folks are coming to our house to go to the beach this weekend to have a reunion and have a fun get-together and we had no hot water!  Our new home that we bought two months ago would be housing for five couples for several days!

Anyway, James and Atomic Plumbing came to the rescue.  I called them about the no hot water problem and folks coming to town to stay for a few days at about 2:00pm on a Friday. By 3:15pm that same day James was there.  He did a thorough inspection and assessment, determined the heat in the attic caused the pilot light on our hot water heater to go out, showed me how to keep the pilot light on and then submitted a very low invoice to me.  Needless to say, I asked James to provide me a quote for the cost of replacing a traditional hot water heater and locate it in the garage (versus the attic....) and a tank-less hot water heater.

We'll keep calling Atomic Plumbing until they mess it up.  And as long as they have people like James on board, I bet they won't mess it up very often!  What do you think?

ABSOLUTELY OVERPRICED!  My neighbor had a leak with his kitchen sink in a home he rents out and called me to go take a look at it.  Before I could go, he also called Atomic Plumbing to get a professional opinion.  Before Atomic got to the house, I stopped by and diagnosed the problem as a simple leak in the sprayer hose assembly.  Once Atomic arrived, the technician agreed with my diagnosis and stated that he had never seen a sprayer hose having a leak (that was my first hint that this wasn't going to be a good visit).  The technician stated he would have to go out to his truck to see how much it would cost to replace the sprayer hose assembly.  After calling the main office and sending pics of the hose assembly (it was a common Delta hose assembly) to the plumbing supply company, technician told me that it would cost $417.00 to replace.  I WAS SHOCKED!  I told him that couldn't be right and he told me that he didn't set the prices.  I asked how much was it just for the part and he said it was $110.00.  So it was going to cost $110.00 for the part and $307.00 for the repair.  Well, I told my friend to NOT pay this ridiculous amount and told the technician it was a 5 minute repair. Again, he reiterated that he doesn't set the prices.  Nevertheless, my friend paid the 69.00 service call and sent the technician on his way.  I then personally went to the plumbing supply company and showed them a picture of the hose assembly.  They promptly gave me the exact replacement, which cost only $63.59 and we were able to replace the hose in 5 minutes.  I know that Atomic has to make money, but that is ridiculous.  Recommend you look elsewhere for a plumber or at least do some research online to fix yourself or find a more reputable plumber you can trust.

I live in California and Pacific Gas & Electric are great. My mom lives in Virginia and has Virginia Natural Gas. Atomic Plumbing has a nice gig with Va. Natural Gas, if you have a concern and call Virginia Natural Gas about your gas going to your water heater they refer Atomic Plumbing to help you. Be sure to ask Atomic plumbing  for their cost per job rate $$$$ before confirming service call. What a rip off.. overcharging for service calls is wrong. My mom agreed to have them come out to repair the water heater pilot light ( Referred by Virginia Natural Gas Co.) that was shutting off, to the day (10-13-2012) the water heater pilot light keeps shutting off. A  $ 250.00 service call was a rip-off and did not fix the problem. Va. Power replaced the gas valve for free and the water heater still keeps shutting off... You would think someone could solve the problem....
FYI: Water heater less then 5 years old...

Here is the actual service calls (notice they dates):

Va. Nat. Gas called Atomic Plumbing and told us to call and set up a time.

Atomic Plumbing Work Order 6/1/12

Checked 30 Gallon Gas Water Heater in Utility Room and fresh air intake screen on bottom of water heater was dirty.  Also checked  thermocouple and its pulling 18 milivolts.  Range should be between 10-30 Milivolts.  Checked operation and heater is working good.

7/10/12  Work Order

Checked water heater and re-lit pilot light.  Checked intake screen on bottom of heater and its clean.  Checked Draft on Draft Hood and its good.  Also checked thermocouple and its pulling 17.5 milivolts.  Talked with tech support and they said if it is a spermatic problem, the problem is atmosphere.  The room that the water heater is in has no fresh air intake.  Need to cut in vents in room for fresh air to water heater.

7/21/12  Called Warranty after pilot went out again.  They told Jeff that when Atomic called they said thermo coupling was at 3.5 and it should be at 6.  They should have known this was a problem.

7/21/12  Va. Natural Gas came out.
Work Order Stated:
Old Meter  - 6 WC          Rebuild Meter Set  - 7 WC    Tighten loose thermo coupling on water heater.  WH  - Lit Pilot

Had a vent installed in floor.  Although Gas Co. and Gen. Contractor said we had enough fresh air intake in room (ceiling)

Please do not use Atomic plumbing for repairs $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Tried 3 plumbers for an emergency,  one couldn't come out for 4 days, one wanted $300 for 1st hour just to walk in the house. Atomic had 2 techs out in less than 2 hours, both were very friendly, cleaned up after themselves and fixed the problem. Only charged $69 to diagnose then we could decide to proceed or not, then pay with the $69 going to final fee. Thanks Atomic!

Once again I required a plumber to fix a water heater leak along with associated plumbing. David and his helper Scotty came out within 1/2 hour after my call, surveying the job and quoted me a very reasonable price. New water heater with 10 year warranty along with associated piping completed. These guys do excellent work and are always quick in response time. Hope to not have to use them anytime soon again but definitely highly recommend this company!  Thanks to David and Scotty for their hard work and dedication.

Very happy with the service provided by Atomic Plumbing. I called on a Saturday for a hot water heater repair. Sean D was at my house in about an hour. He was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. He took time to explain exactly what the problem was with my appliance, how the equipment worked and explained all of my repair options. He was able to have my repair completed quickly and far less expensive than replacing the water heater itself. Before today I had not used Atomic, but after my positive experience with Melissa, Sean and the rest of their staff I can say I will definitely recommend them to my friends and neighbors and I will certainly use them again. Thank you and Keep up the good work!

Fantastic local businesses. The front office were very friendly and helpful, they sold my son some plumbing hardware and what they didn't have, pointed out to him where he could find it. Called to get a ballpark figure as to the cost of a simple water heater replacement. Customer associate who answered the phone was unable to provide any type of cost over the phone. The only way to get an estimate is to have a service technician come out and pay $95. It is understandable that they cannot provide an accurate over the phone estimate, but having a general idea to proactively plan for a project is a deciding factor when choosing a company to perform work. Went with A-1 American instead, they were able to provide a ballpark figure.

Avoid them like the plague! They severely overcharged me to install a toilet. I could have gone to Premier Plumbing for half the price. $600.00 to install a $200.00 toilet...ridiculous! The only positive thing was that the guy who came to do the work put on shoe protectors before he entered my house.

Impressed! Not to often you can find a contractor like this that checks all the boxes. I had a nasty sewer back up.  Chelsea explained the service fee was $69 for assessment of the problem which I felt was an extremely reasonable fee to get invaluable information about the scope of the problem.  Atomic arrived within a couple of hours of my call.  Within 2 minutes Ryan determined the city lateral was the cause. He called the city and I kid you not, they were there with a big rig in 15 minutes and cleared the clog.  Atomic wasn't going to charge me but while they were there I had them do a video sewer scan of the drain pipes through the house and to the street to inspect the condition of the pipes which were all good and gave me peace of mind.  They waived the $69 service call fee.  They DID NOT try to up sell me on bogus services and repairs.  In fact the fee was surprisingly low for the value of their service. The whole experience was totally stress free and how it should be in a perfect world.
I can't tell you the joy I felt working with such a trusting, competent, professional company. from the appointment with Chelsea, and the competent professional treatment from Ryan and Trey. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

PS.  I just read other reviews.  I'm impressed with how kindly and professionally you respond to some of the unreasonable bellyaching and complaints.   Review responses speaks highly of how much a company cares.  Keep up the good work!

Thank you atomic for being prompt during my emergency. The technicians James & Paul were kind and personable during my difficult time. My husband was a little upset that he wasn't given a straight answer when asked about law enforcement discount. The price hurt a lot, especially having to have you guys two days in a row. But they went above and beyond to help us. I'm thankful for that. I'm truly thankful for your professionalism.

While I was very happy with the personnel that was sent out, their $787 quote was beat by Discount Plumbing (only $178).  Too much of a difference and that didn't include the $69 atomic charged for coming out and not doing the work.

I broke a half inch PVC pipe in my crawl space by accident so I call up atomic.  They arrived quickly, quoted me, and fixed it right away.  Quality of work was top notch and all the employees from the receptionist to the plumber were extremely kind and professional.  I will use them in the future and would recommend them to a friend.

Person at office said a service call was $69.00 and that they did not charge by the hour, but by the job. I had to open up my wall for him to look which I did or it would be $150.00 for him to open it. Problem was diagnosed and suggested fixes were priced.
Then he charged me $150.00 for the service call less than hour with 1/3 of that time in his truck typing up the charges

Our drains had backed up and we needed help. Sean D was outstanding. Knowledgeable and thorough, he made a complete assessment of the drainage system of our 60+-year old home. He thoroughly explained our options, the why and how of the work he would do and then proceeded with the plan we approved. With great assistance from Zach, their diligence ensured the line to the city sewer was cleared of scale and build-up that has been accumulating for who knows how long. Extremely satisfied with Sean's and Zach's work and with Atomic. Second time we've relied on Atomic and we'll do it, again. Definitely our go to  for plumbing / drain problems.

Our upstairs bathroom had a leak that drained water into our downstairs kitchen ceiling. Scott and his crew were able to come up immediately to assess the issue. They were clean, courteous, and professional during their visits and made sure to give us nice itemized quotes for the job they were doing. We ran into a few scheduling issues with the scheduling department but the work the plumbers did was terrific. Every time they ran into an issue with my house being super old, they found a good solution and did not jack up the initial estimate.

This company is awesome. Had water back up in the house about 6pm, called a lot of Big companies, no one could come.  Called Atomic, dispatcher was awesome.  Robert came out within the hour and had us unclogged in no time.  Friendly, professional, will call them first from now on.   Don't hesitate...call them!!!

4 stars overall
5 stars for responsiveness
5 stars for Paul, the manager

Late review  entry for service in performed in Mid November of last year.

We needed to fix a leak that wasn't a difficult job,
After several attempts on our own, we determined that the handle could not be taken off without either breaking the handle and possibly causing potential  expensive damage to pipes and structures. Hence, leading us to hire Atomic plumbing.

*If you have plumbing issues arise,  I highly suggest you call as soon as possible. It was in mid November of last year when I called. Atomic was able to accommodate me within 3-5 days. Whereas, other companies I had called didn't have the same extensive amount of plumbers available until weeks to months later.

PROS:
The dispatchers are very professional, helpful, kind and listen!

Paul (Manager) is reasonable and fair.

Plumbers/technicians- respectful, explain the plan of what needs to be done, what they will do

Preparation:

Parts- this is a hard one to determine.  You might be able to figure out which parts you need, but the difficulty lies with which TYPE/model?  So unless you are able to bring the actual parts or get eyes on the specific parts you need to replace, it makes purchasing them difficult ahead of time on your own.  And if you did, I don't know that it would necessarily impact the cost of the plumbing job as Atomic's price is a flat rate. I know that they had our specific cartridge on hand, but our bathtub faucet handle they did not.  By the time they were able to get the handle off, the local plumbing store was closed/closing within 10-15 minutes.

We were told we would have to purchase a handle the next day at a local store and replace it ourselves. Which we did and was easy. I brought in the old handle and the guy from Comet plumbing was able to provide a comparable handle.

Service- Plan on taking an entire day off, like any field of delivery or home service, time frames are merely a suggestion. You won't know what time of the day specifically they will arrive until an hour or so before.

ATOMIC doesn't specify times or alert customers that the plumber(s) are on their way until they are within an hour or two window of nearing your home.  There are too many variables that do not permit specific arrival times.

We were provided a specific day, however specific times are not given due to inability to predict the duration of jobs as they can vary in difficulty and they can't determine that until they perform the assessment.

I called the day before to confirm that we were still on the schedule.  It was determined we were definitely not going to be one of their first appointments, but we would be updated as the day progresses.

The dispatchers informed me they would update us once they were nearing our address. Which they did twice and it was greatly appreciated.

I think we were last on their list as the the plumber and his apprentice arrived close to 4pm.  They introduced themselves, had shoe covers, and waited to be invited in. I asked them to wear masks and they respectfully obliged, donning the masks prior to entering. I also did mention my preference for staff to mask while in my house when I booked the company. The employees are all vaccinated from my understanding. However, the customers they have serviced prior to me, I wouldn't personally know their vaccination status. Hence, my extra precautions.

The plumber and his apprentice  did a quick assessment of several issues I had inquired about.  They went back to their truck, devised a price and came back with the number on the tablet.  The pricing is a flat rate.   My husband and I saw the quote and we verbalized  that the price was on the higher end, and begrudgingly acknowledged we needed the leak fixed. We felt the quote was  seriously overpriced for what the job entailed.  We weren't offered to negotiate the price, nor did the plumber offer to speak to a manager regarding adjusting a reasonable price. The work needed to be done.

I wasn't satisfied with the initial charge of the service and for the amount charged, that we still had to pick up and pay an additional cost for the handle.

I called back the next day to discuss my dissatisfaction with the price paid.  After speaking with Paul, the manager I was happy with the way (Paul) he resolved the matter. He definitely has a good and fair process of resolving issues.

Paul should be the gold standard for any service oriented business.  He promptly spoke to me over the phone.  He LISTENED to me, acknowledging my concerns,  and asked me for my input in resolving the matter in which we could agree upon.  He then provided a timeframe in which he would respond once he consulted with the plumber involved.   I was thoroughly pleased that it was mutually and respectfully resolved.

Called this afternoon and there was a technician at my house within an hour. The technicians (Aron and Justin) were friendly and explained all the options, in the end we cut to the chase and ended up just putting a hole in the ceiling (not too happy about that but as long as it fix the issue, I'm okay with it!). I had gotten the run around from so many companies, so I'm grateful that they didn't beat around the bush. Thanks for being quick and helping out!

I filled out a quote thing on Yelp and got in touch with someone from Atomic about poopy water being backed up into my shower. They were courteous and listened to everything I had to say. They assured me that they would fix my problem in the morning. I said okay.

A couple of hours later, my problematic toilet started leaking water at its base. I called Atomic again, and they patched me into someone who told me to shut off the valve behind the toilet. A couple of hours later, I called Atomic again (they probably think I'm crazy over there) because I was panicking. They were really reassuring, but I still couldn't sleep.

Ryan and Ryan (hahahaha) showed up first thing the next morning and got to work. They asked me questions and explained things to me really clearly. They cleaned up my poopy water, drained the crap out of my pipes, and replaced my leaky toilet with a beautiful Kohler. To say that Atomic has excellent customer service is an UNDERSTATEMENT; they put up with all of my calls and explained to me everything they were doing. I will definitely go to them again (a bit pricey, but worth the kindness of the people working here) and I highly recommend!

I called about getting a water heater replaced and I was price gouged an astronomical amount. I got the job done by an honest company for half of what I was quoted by Atomic. This company should be ashamed of itself.

The company sent a plumber out to my house this morning to look at some rusted gas lines in my crawl space. I wanted to know if they were safe right now. The plumber felt that they didn't need replaced but advised that I needed to perform a gas line pressure test. He wrote something up and the quote was $1,325. It seemed very expensive but the plumber and I felt it was better to be safe than sorry. I agreed to have them perform the service 3 days later. The plumber said it would take 3-5 hours. The plumber left and I did more research regarding the test. I called two other plumbers and they quoted me under $200. I subsequently called Atomic and canceled the service. Atomic plumbing and their plumber obviously felt they had a homeowner who was desperate and very concerned about safety and as such, they felt they could get away with a completely ridiculous price for their service. I have used Atomic in the past but will not ever use them again. I would also advise anyone else to do some research and ensure they are not being taken advantage of by this company.

After using Atomic Plumbing now three separate times, they have more than earned their place as our go-to plumber here in VA Beach.  The thing I like best about them is their responsiveness.  We've done two emergency calls with them, and both times we've had same day service, usually within just a few hours.  This is especially nice when you're dealing with large leaks, like in the case of our upstairs bathroom or, just recently, our old hot water heater.  The work they do is top notch, and the only thing in my opinion that surpasses it is the customer service.

During our last interaction, we called Atomic after dealing with a frustrating experience with our home warranty company, who obviously wanted to use their own contractor to replace our hot water heater.  The problem was their contractor couldn't see us until 5-6 days later, and that would have been just for the initial visit to determine the problem and what the fix would be.  After fighting for them to get our own plumber out and to get reimbursed later and finally getting it approved, Atomic was our first and only choice.

Not only did they ascertain the problem and solution immediately (and waived the 125 dollar flat call fee), but Deanna, the rep who we'd been in contact with about our case, worked tirelessly to help us navigate the home warranty company's many, many communication issues and overall inflexibility.  She was incredible, and we can't thank her enough for essentially fighting for us when she really didn't have to.

Overall, Atomic Plumbing has earned our continued business with their wonderful customer service and great plumbing skills.  We are more than happy to refer them to everyone we know and we'll definitely only use them in the future!

Fast enough to respond, but gouge you on their prices. Even with military discount, it was 500 dollars more than others. Guess you pay for expedited services.  The plumbers are very professional, courteous, and fast, not happy with the pricing. If we could live without hot water, I would have paid the 95 dollar service fee and got another company out to do the work.

Another visit from Atomic, another outstanding result (Robert R. completed a diagnostic and new water heater installation).  Since moving into our new house, we have needed Atomic on several occasions and they have cemented their place as THE plumbing team to go to, whether it's an emergency repair or simply replacing a faucet. All of their technicians have been knowledgeable, professional and personable.  They show up when they say they will and they don't look for the most expensive option first; getting the job done right and making you feel like a valued customer are paramount to turning a profit.  BOTTOM LINE: If you need a plumber, CALL ATOMIC, it will be the only phone call you need to make!

I hope I am being a fair minded consumer. I called Atomic Plumbing because I thought I had a hot water problem (no hot water going into washing machine). I also had 2 outdoor faucets that needed replacing. The two men were polite and professional. They showed me that my hot water for washer was fine (and that I had only cold water selected for wash). They checked my faucets outside. One near driveway if touched would not shot off and sprayed water full force. The other faucet had little tread left to attach to a hose. They indicated it would be about $600 to fix the faucets since it had to be done under the house. I questioned the cost since I am 73 and on a limited income with barely enough to get by month to month. It sounded better when they said I didn't have to pay an additional $68 fee for a house visit if I had the work done, and i would get a senior citizen discount of about $60.I think I may not have used good judgement when I didn't get another quote. At the time I had not realized I could get a quote over the phone first (my fault). I didn't have a person with me for support and didn't want the water left gushing outside the house. I am writing this since it is still in my mind that it cost so much and three men neighbors have said they felt it was excessive..but then again said Plumbers cost a lot. I have written this in good faith

I am sure these guys do great work but be wary.  I had a Atomic Plumbing guy come to my house to fix a leaky shower faucet and he told me he could not get my water turned off and would need to completely rebuild the valve in my house that shuts off the water and would have to contact the local water company to turn my water off outside somewhere.  Then he told me that he would have to rebuild my entire faucet and quoted me a price over $1000.  My jaw almost hit the ground.  I told him he was out of his F*##@ng mind.  So I got charged an $80 service fee and he was on his way.  I got a second plumber to come in from a contracting company and he was able to figure out how to get the water turned off in my unit himself from inside the condo (I am guessing because he is a real plumber?) and replaced just an O ring in the leaky  faucet.  He also threw in a free toilet snaking from the toilet that got clogged the other day.  He then proceeded to clean up and was on his way.  So bottom line, get a second quote.

I had a huge toilet leak at almost midnight. I was in a huge panic because I was moving the next day. Called another company and the guy gave me the run around, he didn't really want to come out even though he was on call. So I called Atomic Plumbing, I remember seeing their trucks around town. Now they are a bit pricey but the gentleman I spoke to on the phone walked me through the process to stop the leak and promised someone would call me first thing in the morning to get me on the books.

I was very shocked the next morning when my phone rang at 7:58 a wonderful receptionist was calling to make sure everything was okay and to schedule me for that morning. A very nice technician came out. Before entering my home he put on shoe covers. He looked over all the plumbing not just in one bathroom but both and toured the home to familiarize himself with the plumbing lines. He quoted me what each service would cost and gave me a bottom line. Even though this was a quick fix, we had a clog and a bad seal on a new toilet, it was nice to see that he actually took the time out to do his job and do it well. I'd use them again for any plumbing issues.

The prices are outrageous. Even after paying the $69 thanks but no thanks fee for stopping by, I paid a second plumber less than half for the two jobs. I would have paid close to $800 to them. But paid $300 instead. I will say the employee that stopped by my house was polite. My one star is really based on the price quoted compared to the other plumbing company I ended up using.

Excellent and professional service! Having experienced a slow sink that I was unable to clear myself by drain cleaner and a 25 foot auger, Atomic Plumbing was able to quickly and efficiently clear the clogged drain...which apparently was partially blocked by years of buildup. The scheduler did a great job in providing me updates (e.g. arrival time and technician's name) and the technician (Randy C.) had the equipment and expertise to quickly resolve the problem. He also provided advice on how to minimize future buildups. Highly recommended!!

Sean was amazing! SO nice and so knowledgable and quickly diagnosed my issue as well as fixed it immediately. Very friendly and very quick! Couldn't ask for anything more! Kimberly was great at keeping me up to speed on when Sean would be by the house. She also advised me to check with the city while I was waiting to make sure it wasn't on their end, I wouldn't have thought of that! They came early and
When I arrived they were sitting in the truck had already been in the house the tenant let them in. I went in and they started talking to me about working on a toilet.
Hold them they were supposed to talk about the tub. They gave me a ridiculous price and when I said it's time for you to leave they made me pay a $95 charge for them to come. I wrote a letter to the general manager and he refunded my money I'll say that much for the company. The service was horrible. Overprice and just wanted to charge for coming.

I would not recommend. They are not transparent with homeowners.

Late 2019 I purchased a home with a toilet that was suppose to be repaired by the previous homeowners. To my surprise, the day after closing, my downstairs flooded out due to the previous plumber installing a flange incorrectly. I had to move to a hotel for 2 months while repairs were being done. During this time I coordinated between contractors, insurance adjusters and real estate agents to have someone fix the toilet correctly. After weeks of negotiations the agents finally convinced the previous home owners to fix the toilet properly. They hired atomic plumbing.

My experience with atomic plumbing was appalling. From the beginning, they treated me like an outsider because I was not the one paying. It was so bad that when the technician came out to the residence, he was unable to give me a paper quote of what needed to be done to fix the issue because I was not paying. Due to the amount of stress, I let the process work itself out and the toilet was fixed. Flash forward today (and after 18k worth of damage from that toilet) my insurance company wants documentation of what was done. They asked me to get a description of the work completed from Atomic Plumbing. I contacted atomic and they informed me that due to privacy they could not give me any work description of what was done to my house, even though I owned the house. I then asked for the privacy statement and they also refused.

My question is why can't you give me a description of the work that was completed in MY HOME. Why did you authorize work from third party but not offer the homeowner a description of the work?

I would love to see where it states in your privacy statement that you CANNOT provide the homeowner documentation of work you are doing in their home.

I called for a leaky toilet and they came out that day. After a very short inspection, we got the bid of what it should cost-there were three scenarios. One: to just pull the toilet up and see what it might be would cost close to $300. Two: If he fixed the toilet, add another $275 BUT more than likely we need a new toilet, so the total could be over $900. I said thanks but no thanks, paid the $69 for him to come out and told him I was getting a second opinion. We called another plumber and he did everything in less than an hour and charged us $175! We haven't had a problem since. RIP OFF-I will never call Atomic again.
