Today a very knowledgeable and friendly technician was her for my Spring Air check and noticed my UV light was out. The work he performed was outstanding and thorough. His name is Skylar.

I will ask for him to come when needed. I recommend this company

I need a AC inspection of my new home and was able to schedule an appointment with them the same week. Moises is super knowledgeable and patient. He collaborated with their office team to verify the years of my AC and gave me a detail walkthrough of their VPP membership plan. He noticed the AC doesn't have enough refrigerant and helped me added. Highly recommend getting a monthly (14.99/29.99)or annual (149/299)membership to take care of both HVAC and plumbing inspections year round. You also get 10-15% discount for later work if you are a member.

I've been using them over 3 years on the membership plan.  I appreciate the wellness checks, advice, photos, estimates and recommendations.  Today I had an excellent consultation with Javier regarding some changes that could be made to my second level tub.  Last week I had my HVAC wellness check and we agreed to continue to preserve my outside unit by adding a hard start kit.

I rarely post a review but am doing so so that folks don't get taken for a ride. I requested a water heater repair service call and got a sales call instead.

The moment the tech came to my house, he was positioning for a sale of a new water heater. My heater is about 12 years and without even taking a look at what might be causing an issue with its functioning, the tech starts concluding that we will likely need a new water heater. He spends the next 20 mins wasting my time with a litany of things that might be wrong and ends up quoting $800 for potential repair and $8000 for a new tankless water heater.  Village walks away with their service fee for pretty much giving me the above quotes.

I get another plumber to come and do a thorough cleaning of the water heater and lo and behold it starts working just fine. Cost me $200.

I imagine the incentives are just not aligned to service but to sell. So, customers do beware.

Had two mixed experiences with this company. First time my AC went out without warning. They figured it was a capacitor issue and replaced the capacitor - albeit with a very high upcharge (my home warranty company was shocked they were charging me $400 just to replace a capacitor). Additionally, they were very late to the appointment - although I couldn't blame the tech for doing a thorough job with the previous client, I didn't have anyone come until 4 hours after my appointment window.

The second time, my AC drain line apparently became clogged and tripped my float switch. They sent out a tech to snake the line, but again with a very high charge of more than $250. They didn't offer a warranty for the service. Well about a month after that service, the drain line clogged again and I ended up having to hire another company to do it again (it's now lasted 9 months without issue).

All in all, I had two mixed experiences, and get the sense that the company seems to be more focused on making money than solving issues. The only plus is that they are available at nearly all times, but based on the low quality and high cost of their services I would not recommend for AC issues

With our house passing the 20+ year mark problems are starting to pop up. For leaks and plumbing issues I called Village. They sent out Jeremy Burks and Noah Ramirez. Both gentlemen went above and beyond checking each of my concerns. They explained each item to me and what it would take to repair it. Very knowledgeable and great customer service!

Mr. Jeremy came out to check on problem with toilet. He explained to me the situation and what we needed to do to fix it. He explains in a very professional and simple way for my understanding. This is his second time coming to service and both times he was amazingly nice and professional. I hope I get him anytime I call Village plumbing. I can understand him being an asset to the company.

Five stars for the plumber/technician. One star for the company. The tech did an awesome job of unclogging a shower drain that another plumber said couldn't be unclogged. However, the prices they quoted for many of the small issues that needed fixing were out of sync with the parts and amount of time required; hundreds of dollars for repairs that would take just a few minutes and less than $20 in materials. Therefore, I decided only to have the shower drain unclogged.

Dennis & Leo were the kindest guys! Seriously- they were probably the nicest repairmen I have ever worked with and soooo fast!!!!

Thank you to this dynamic duo for changing out my hot water heater in less than 3 hours start to finish!

If I could leave zero stars I would. Do not use this company!!! We had a break in our sewage line and were told we absolutely had to replace it.

First of all, the guy told us to not worry if the guys that come look like they came from Home Depot (I'm an idiot and expected them to have Home Depot shirts on, didn't realize he was just being racist). I could not regret hiring them more.

They cut 50% of our tree's root despite specifically telling us they wouldn't. When we tried to address our concerns, RJ told us that that we were overreacting and the tree was fine. We had an arborist come out who confirmed that was not the case - ONLY THEN did they acknowledge there was anything wrong with what they did (picture attached). I understand these things happen, but don't tell the homeowners they are overreacting.

They tore up our yard (pictures below). They ruined sprinkler heads. They placed the clean out IN THE MIDDLE OF THE YARD (previously at the the side of the house hidden).

When we asked them to fix it, we were met with continued excuses. We have to hire someone to fix their mess on top of the cost to fix the line.

They filed 3 permits with the city, only one of which was needed. The other two were for inside plumbing fixtures. The city inspector reported that he has seen that done before as a way to charge the customer more and use those permits elsewhere.

Please. If anything positive comes of this experience, let it be this review preventing someone else from having to deal with a similar situation.

Would leave ZERO stars if that was an option.

Called early in the morning and they gave me a same day afternoon appointment. Technician was supposed to call 45 minutes before the appointment.
I never received a call from the technician and no one from their office called me to cancel. So now i have to go another day with my sink issue and rearrange another day at work to accommodate getting a plumber to my home.
They tried to sell me a maintenance agreement, when i declined I guess they weren't interested in doing the work

Do yourself a favor and don't call these folks! their communication sucks!!

I should have read the reviews before booking, don't make the same mistake! the reviews are correct, they are horrible!

Please BEWARE, we purchased a home filtration system ($10k) from Village Plumbing approximately two years ago.  We purchased this secondary to wanting to avoid hard water stains on our appliances as our shower stream decreased significantly.  When asked what maintenance the home filtration system needed, the plumber indicated....nothing.  We also didn't ever receive a manual for the system.

When our shower stream again started to decrease, we called Village again.  The plumber they sent was great, but was unable to help us with customer service concerns....the filter which should be changed was BLACK.  He indicated we needed to call customer care and a manager would call back in 24 hours but he HAD to take payment.

We've now called SIX times...each time with the promise that a manager would return our call.  We STILL have not received a call from a manager OR received any monetary return.  VILLAGE PLUMBING & AIR....you need to take responsibility for poor customer service TODAY!

I had a squealing toilet/faucets in master bedroom.  Jacob came out and replaced all the parts of the toilet tank since they needed replacing and thought that might do the trick.  It didn't.   Finally figured out that it was the outside faucet that was slightly on.   Voila!  Jacob never gave up in figuring out the problem.  He was very professional and experienced and would certainly use him again.

Recently got a quote from here for plumbing work that needed to be done for our kitchen/bathroom remodel. The guy that came out was nice and courteous but was saying we needed all new this/all new that and quoted us at over $5K.....however, we got a 2nd quote from another company for the same exact work that was required and they quoted us at only $1200! Needless to say, be wary of the quotes you receive from these people. They will try and charge you for stuff you don't need and rip you off. Be sure to get other quotes before going with Village!

Word to the wise DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS .We have a policy with these folks whereby they provide annual checks on our system. They came out to check our plumbing HVAC and AC. They recommended that we get a new hot water heater however they broke our AC, then sent a kid who spent 3.5 hours sitting in my den; finally I suggested that he phone a supervisor which he did. That person came, told us to call the folks who installed since the units are under warranty and left. They broke it,  can't fix it, wasted our time and money and oh by the way wanted to upsell another service policy. This business has been sold they are no longer a women owned business and they are not on Kirby .Additionally they are horrible.it is two days later, hot like Hades and we still don't have AC.

They recommended an HVAC system that was too big for my townhome.  They didn't do a manual J calculation.  They just replaced what was placed in the home by the builder.  We then had humidity issues on third floor and when we asked why a manual J calculation wasn't done we were told they don't do manual J's.  We had one done and we found out that the HVAC was over sized for the townhome.  Don't let anyone install an HVAC unless they do a manual J!!  Now we are going to have a whole home dehumidifier installed which may not have been necessary if the AC was sized correctly!!

Village Plumbing completed a re-pipe of our home on February 8th. The crew led by Javier, a certified plumber, was performed in a professional manner.  The crew worked non-stop each day they were in our home. We were kept informed each day by Javier what would be accomplished. At the end of each day, we had water to shower, flush toilets, etc. While the cost was greater than that quoted, the contract included insulating all pipes that were installed in the attic and a much better warranty on their work rather than the one year offered by other plumbing companies. Village Plumbing proved to be the type of company willing to answer my questions at any point and perform the re-pipe process to accommodate us. I have used this company before for smaller plumbing jobs and have always found this to be true.

Plumbing requires a lot of trust and I would not rate this as a trustworthy company.

The technicians are nice, that's not the issue. The issue is the company SEVERELY overcharging for their services and wasting your time because they initially send out technicians and not plumbers.

I had a tank-to-bowl gasket leak. You could flush the toilet and see that was the exact problem. Technician comes in and didn't even inspect the toilet before quoting $550 for a major tank rebuild because he said the company policy is to not replace the parts that need it, but instead just charge you for a whole new product. That's almost 5x the price of a new toilet from this brand, but just to fix half of it? Then they only carried Toto toilets and wouldn't install any other brand. Gave me a quote for $1200 to install a whole new $200-$300 Toto toilet, but if I went with that they'd have to reschedule to actually install it because an actual plumber would have to come out for that even though I was paying a service fee for what I thought was a plumber to come out.

It was a $7 part to fix my problem and they tried to squeeze $550-$1200 out of me for it? I would never trust this company's estimates or recommend it to any of my family/friends.

To the owner, it's nice you have spiffy vans and uniforms, but price gouging is not how you cover your own overhead. Honest pricing goes a lot further in retaining repeat customers.

De Wayne Shaw was professional and quick! He gave me a reasonable estimate of an electric tankless hot water upgrade on the spot. He recommended a great way to save more money with the install as well by placing it downstairs instead of in the attic as I initially figured. A+

UPDATE: Chris Stephens, the VP of Operations at Village Plumbing, came out to view the work and offered an adjustment to the price. He listened to my concerns and was committed to reaching a solution.

7,300 for a waterline from the house to the water meter. A 4-hour job with one plumber and a dig crew of two.

Just before the cold weather began, I noticed water around the pipe where the water enters my home. I contacted Village Plumbing, having been a customer for more than 10 years. I suspected it was related to my two trees, and I was correct. The roots had wrapped around the pipe and caused a slow leak. I was given two options. They could replace the section of PVC pipe for a little over $1,000 to stop the leak, or they could replace everything from the house to the meter with a flexible pipe, a distance less than 25 feet, for $8,100. I was able to get them to bring the amount down to $7,300. However, I regret that I didn't get two or three estimates from other companies.

I expected that this was going to be a big job, but it only took a total of four hours including the dig crew. Once the dig crew (two guys) finished their trench (about one foot deep), the plumber arrived to do his part. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the price (for which I had already paid half). I remember that in 2013, I had to hire an investigative plumber to tunnel under my house and that had only cost $3,200. Although he couldn't go on record as saying so, it was evident that the plumber felt the price was excessive as well. He made a call to his direct boss, but was told the price is price. He explained that the price he gave me was the result of him taking pictures, telling his boss what need to be done, and his boss then sending a number. Village Plumbing doesn't give itemized quotes. He told me of a manager above his boss that I could speak to, but when I called, I was told he was gone for the day (at 3:00 pm). I was told that an email would be sent to him asking him to call me the next day. I explained my situation to the person on the phone who called me back a few hours later. She said she had spoken with two other managers who took a look at the job and basically said, the price is the price.

$7,300 seems to be an excessive overcharge to run a new service line from the house to the meter along with a new hose-bib and emergency shut-off valve. We learn from our mistakes, and mine was trusting a company that I had done business with for many years. I won't make that mistake again.

Very angry with them. I called them at 8am  and they said they can provide same day service. At 840 I received a call to confirm. I drove out 45 min to my rental property and waited . I called at 1125 , and again at 1245. I was told Gabby will call me back soon. I gave up and left at 330. I received a call at 4 pm and was told I can reschedule. Heck no. So inconsiderate of peoples time.

Absolutely horrible expensive experience with Village Plumbing! They charged $4200 to repair broken pipes that caused extensive damage to my downstairs on October 14th. On November 15th when the contractors were finishing the last 2 days of renovation, another plumbing leak occurred in the kitchen due to failure of Village Plumbing to fix the original issues. Village Plumbing admitted that the first repairs were not done properly and that the supervisor on the original job  had been terminated because of his incompetence. They agreed at this time to pay for all expenses for the plumbing repairs and damage to my kitchen, but that did not happen. They made an offer to pay $2500 for damages that totaled $4000- damages caused by their incompetence. So, I am out of $4200 from the original charges and now they want me to absorb another $1500 caused by their incompetence.
Do not use this company!

My company has recommended these folks for years.  I was on site for a job were we had hired them for to clear out(hydrojet) a back yard drainage system that had leaves and dirt in it($1100 charge).  Before they finished the project they told me that the drainage line was collapsed and they could not clear it, but said they could fix it for $2000.00.    After they left, i rented a sewer machine ---pushed it to the point where they said the pipe was collapsed and cleared the blockage out with very little effort.  I called their customer service to let them know my disappointment and received NO response.  Word of mouth is the cheapest advertising you can get.  I have instructed my employees to never recommend you folks again for fear you will take advantage of them.

Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience. I've been unable to get in touch with anyone from customer care but essentially we were quoted 2,000 to replace our fireplace valve. Another plumbing company came out and fixed the issue in under 45 minutes for $300. Long story short- Be sure to get multiple quotes.

Village plumbing and air was hired to come over to our house and fix an issue that was the result of previously rendered services. They showed up and failed to cut the seal around our vent which resulted in paint peeling off the ceiling. The technician didn't bother to tell us about the damage to the bedroom ceiling in our newly remodeled house, left a mess all over the floor, and then proceeded to try and sell us an additional $3000 service.

Now we are in a fight with them over repairs and remedies.  It's very obvious that air vents are caulked, and caulking needs to be cut or it will damage Sheetrock when the vent is removed.  Not being told about the damage and having a mess left behind makes it even more absurd.  We have eggshell paint so our entire ceiling will need to be repainted as a result of this.

Terrible service, terrible customer service.

Does not honor written quote for replacing broken 1/2 galvanized pipe that busted during the freeze of 2021.  I accepted the written quote and scheduled the repair order.  When the crew showed up, the price changed to 3 times the written quote.  If they did not honor the written quote, do you think they will honor or warranty their work is something is not done right?  Now I know why there were the only plumbers that answered the phones after the freeze.  Scam artists that hide under a Master Plumber's license and good marketing.

BEWARE OF THOSE SCAMMERS

BTW they charged a $60 fee for the initial WORTHLESS QUOTE.

I called village plumbing because I had an issue with my kitchen sink leaking. The plumber told me that I had to replace the entire faucet and that with parts and labor it would come out to 1k. I was shocked by the price when I was unsure what the issue was even after speaking to the plumber. I called another company and asked for a quote over the phone to replace the entire faucet, and they said they could do it for $225. I can't help but feel that the plumber was grossly overcharging me. As a young woman, a lot of handymen feel like they are able to overcharge or take advantage of the fact that I may not be as knowledgeable in this area. Super disappointed in this company and would not recommend.

Had good service in the past, not the cheapest, but got the job done when I needed them in the past.

This time however was different, I waited all day for someone to get a plumber to me last week, Oct 07, 2021 I just put that off to a bad day.  The plumber did his job well and quickly.
Ordered me a new faucet and setup today to come back to do the install, even asked if I prefer Morning or Afternoon.  I picked Morning and found out after a few text and calls that no one noted that back at the office.
Then was told they were no allowed to set the time.

After 4 hours of waiting I get a call around 2pm that some is coming and will call when the plumber is 30 minutes out.
At 4:25pm I get a call someone is one their way and should arrive in 20-30 minutes.
I calmly waited for 90 minutes and called back when no show, and was told they are contacting dispatch and someone (I love this someone) will call right back.
30 minutes later and no call, so I tried calling and all I get is the automated voice system.

Tried 3 numbers all the same
Got on their website and chatted with 2 people, both told me to call TOMORROW and gave me some scripted response.

All I wanted to know is window so I don't have to sit around ALL DAY waiting for someone to come.

Please make this right.
At this point I am VERY ANGRY AND FRUSTRATED by the level of (or lack of) service I have received.

Village Plumbing grossly overcharged my elderly mother who had an emergency burst pipe late at night. $295 just for the late night call and then $800 for a temporary fix to the pipe. Also the guy claimed he didn't have the tools with him in his plumbing van to fix it at the time so he came back the next day yet still charged the $295 late night fee just to turn off her water. Very disappointing. I will never call them again.

One star is being generous but technically it should be no stars at all after a two day wait with confirmed times but no show.  I did not see or hear back from them the second day and called to get a response of you're next in line but we don't know when , it can be 6pm. So why bother to give me a uncommitted time anyway and express the frustration of being pestered by a question. I quickly cancelled the appointment to avoid all future potential problems or issues that can occur. It may just be a major business problem of not being able to properly schedule customers with available staff.

During our annual plumbing inspection (part of their sham membership service) the guy said everything looked great but tried to sell me a water softener. No mention of the toilet that has been running for a week. I was hoping he would mention that and quote me on the repair. he did quote me after I told him I thought it might be running. I dont know what his inspection was designed to test for but it felt like it was just an opportunity to come out and Sell to me, not, you know, inspect my plumbing.

WAY expensive.  Estimate to TRY to locate a POSSIBLE main line water leak - $479 PER HOUR!!! No guarantee of success.  Does not include costs of repair.  No estimate of how long the job would take.

They could have just declined to do the job and may have had a chance of me calling them for help in the future if needed.

Customer service is good, I'll give them that. I called and a very nice lady answered the phone and scheduled a consultation for the same afternoon. The guy they sent over was also very nice, professional, and addressed all my concerns. Also, I wasn't charged a service fee for them coming out to give me an estimate.

I asked the technician to install some dampers on my ducts in the attic and to figure out why the upstairs was so warm. The technician suggested having an A/C return installed in a couple of upstairs bedrooms, adding some insulation to my attic, and installing an attic tent. Reasonable enough to increase efficiency, but then he sent me an estimate.

The reason for the low rating is because of the quote and lack of workmanship I recieved.

Almost $5000?!! No, thank you!

I called another company and they quoted me the exact same work (including recharging the exterior condensor and cleaning the coils) for less than $2000. I decided to go with the other company instead because their estimate was MUCH more thorough. It turns out my system HAS dampers and my attic has ADEQUATE nsulation.

Village Plumbing totally dropped the ball on this one... I don't think I will give them any more business in the future.

Village Plumbing eventually reached out to me and refunded the $29, so I'm updating their rating a bit. I'm guessing someone more senior saw my review and got involved. The whole experience still left me rather unhappy, but I do have to give credit to the business for eventually doing the right thing. I've upped their score to 2 (from 1).

We called for a slow shower drain. We have tried everything from snaking it to drain clog remover. Nothing worked. When we called, we requested the tech come out with a camera. We wanted the drain inspected with a camera for possible tree roots or collapse. They guaranteed they'd come with the camera. The guy showed up. Offered to snake it for $500. We declined and asked for the camera. He said he didn't have one and would have to reschedule. Also said it probably wouldn't work anyway because cameras don't fit down shower drains. We were given a time frame from 8-6 so we made arrangements to be available all day. He showed up at 5:30pm. We declined service and then told we had to pay a $60 service charge. He would leave without payment. He said we had to reach out to the office for a refund. The guy would not leave and kept standing in my living room until we paid the fee. We reached out and haven't gotten a response back for a refund. A huge wast of time. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.

I have a mixed review about them. 1. They are expensive. Other plumbers laugh when they tell them I used Village Plumbing once. 2. They came out when I had an emergency (before membership). 3. They did not come out when I had an emergency although I have an annual membership. They told me they had to schedule me 2 weeks out.  4. They got the job done without cutting corners that one time. 5. They were also professional that one time.

Responsiveness, on time and friendly people are good enough to give them three stars but they are way overpriced. They will also try every fear tactic in the book to up charge you thousands of dollars for services you don't really need. They do an good job quality wise but much better values out there with as good or better quality.

My neighbors have used Village Plumbing & Air previously so I decided to give them a try. The first thing he did was recommend a new water heater for $2800.  Most water heaters are around 600 to 800 dollars and shouldn't cost more than $1000 to install. LESS THAN ONE HOUR OF WORK! So why so much????????

You unhook the gas, water, overflow and vent and then rehook the gas, water, overflow and vent. It takes longer to haul it to and from the 3rd floor!!!

Secondly, the challenge with the water heater was the pilot light went out.  This could be the result of the controls, which might need to be replaced. I asked him if he could replace the controls. His response, We don't replace them (it was a Kenmore) they no longer make the control box. I looked online for 5 minutes and found the part! What? A so-called master plumber doesn't know how to order a part?  Where is the service????????????? He charged me $130 to relight the pilot light and left.

They might be skilled with what they know but refuse to think beyond what they know. He refuse to order parts and will try to push a more expensive option. I would avoid this company.

HORRIBLE scheduling process.  Had a regular service appointment scheduled, and I requested morning service.  The day of the service, they couldn't narrow it down any tighter than sometime between 8:30am and 4:30pm, and expected me to sit home all day waiting for service.  Claimed they called their crew twice and asked them to call me.  No call was ever received.

They need a MUCH more customer-friendly scheduling process.

I had called Village Plumbing sometime back to help out with a plumbing leak. They charged me $450 (entire bill was $785) to run a camera down the pipe and found a nail. We decided not to fix it at that time but are now ready to do so. I called Village back and they said that the technician did not note where the nail was and they didn't save the pictures so I would have to pay for another camera locate . I've used Village multiple times, but since they were not willing to work with me on the issue I started shopping around and found that their prices are considerably higher than other local companies.

Called on Friday, May 6 at 5:00 pm regarding an issue with our A/C. We bought the membership that Village sells in October 2021 the last time they were out for our A/C. The person that answered the phone automatically wanted to charge me for overtime which I understand, however, this was potentially a warranty issue. We opted to just wait until the next morning. We received a call at 11:00 am from dispatch confirming our Saturday morning appointment. Hours go by and no call. At 4:40 pm I finally call since I know that they close at 5:00 pm. I am informed that dispatch will call me back. I eventually call back again at 4:50 pm and get an apology and that someone would call me back. Luckily, dispatch calls me back just to inform me that our appointment was bumped. The dispatcher starts with as the calls started coming in Saturday morning that there were customers that did not have any cold air and only 1 A/C unit. I immediately interrupt her and tell her that was the case in our house too. No one asked me if we had cold air and considering that this was their 4th trip to our house in the less than 1 year that it would be documented. She began to apologize and tell me that she was upset on how this first day of summer ended up playing out but that we would have to wait until Monday. Absolutely upsetting at the customer service and how our situation was handled.

Had the $99 special for an AC and Plumbing inspection.  The inspections went fine.  The recommendations were outrageous.  Prior to this, I called for a clogged drain.  Was going to be a $149 special.  Ended up being over $600 since I stayed the wrong cause of the issue.  It was a guess.  Same procedure but over 4 times the amount.  Then the results of the inspection, recommended new toilets for $2000 each, new water heater (40 gallon), non tankless for $3,200.   Then recently for the AC inspection.  They said that it was a couple lbs low.  They wanted $360 to test if there is a leak.  Well the other company charged nothing since it you could see the signs of a leaky coil with a flashlight.  I usually don't write reviews but two of my pet peeves is nickeling and dimming and baiting and switch. And this company seems to have these as a standard operating procedure.

Very unreliable service and unprofessional. I realize that many companies are still struggling to keep up with demand after the winter storm, but it is still extremely unprofessional to cancel the day of service.
They do not have enough people in the field to handle the amount of calls coming into the company. If you are not having an emergency, you will be bumped for someone who is having an emergency (because they do not have enough technicians in the field to handle routine calls and emergency calls).

I saw the $149 drain clean out special on tv. I called and spoke with a company rep and explained my issue to her to make sure that my drain was not considered to be in the exclusion category. She assured me that my drain qualified for the $149. Rep specifically told me which drain types were excluded and that mine was not one of those drains. When the plumber arrived the first thing he told me was ......sorry, but my drain did not qualify. He was very y nice and explained that the rep had made a mistake and didn't really understand which drains qualified and which did not. The plumber knew that before coming to the house, but was not allowed to call customers to give that info out. The new cost to clean my drain was $1,800. Village Plumbing is running a very deceptive tv ad and they employ personnel that do not understand plumbing and/or the companiy specials being advertised.

I had an inspection scheduled for today four days ago. This morning I get a call stating they have to rebook me to two weeks from now because they are overbooked. I asked to speak to the Manager and was told the Manager wouldn't speak to me and told him to stay firm. I asked if they can reschedule someone else but he said no. This is unprofessional at best. Why was I booked if they didn't have capacity to handle?

Had a bathroom sink that would not drain on the second floor, called these guys who came out the day after. I understand people being busy, but I had to leave town.

My wife was home when plumber came, he suggested rerouting the entire ac line in addition to snaking the drain. But he basically asked my wife to say what she thought the price would be. Weird, give her and estimate and snake the drain. He cleaned the drain and left, got the job done when it was all said and done. I would not call these guys again if it was only my wife, she just was weirded out by the plumber.

I called in a non-emergency problem on Thursday afternoon for a Friday appointment, at the same time purchasing a one-year protection plan. They ran the charge through, and *tentatively* scheduled an appointment for Friday ...between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM, but the dispatcher will call you about 30-45 minutes before the repairman shows up, so you'll have time to get home. (What about if I have other things to do across town, or if traffic ties me up? Why can't you narrow it down to morning or afternoon?) When I hadn't heard from them by 5:35 PM, I called to reschedule for Saturday, as we had dinner plans, and couldn't wait. I was told they'd be out on Saturday between 9:00 PM-5:00 PM, but at 3:45 PM, after not hearing from them, I called to cancel the service call, cancel the protection plan, and to tell them I was going to give them a couple of bad reviews. The lady who answered the phone there told me the dispatcher had called me twice this afternoon. That's strange, as I've had my phone with me all afternoon, and it never rang, so either they're extremely inefficient, or they are out-and-out liars. We will never do business with them again! BTW--when we've done business with them in the past, we've found them to be a little on the expensive side.

We have used this company multiple times over the last few years and finally decided to change our review. We always continued to call them regardless of their extreme pricing because we assumed we were getting responsible service and technicians.
Earlier this year we allowed them to come for inspection for their Village Partner Maintenance Program where they inspect your plumbing systems are in order. A technician came and removed our tub stopper and left it laying there. When I came back and noticed he hadn't replaced the stopper, the stopper wouldn't plunge back into place and had been destroyed. A month later, finally a tech came to inspect the incident and admitted it would be fixed under recall service. But nothing was done in the span of 3 months they sent a tech 2 more times with no helpful info as to when they would fix this issues - then said that we would be responsible for the charges of this now large issue! 4 months later, we are still getting the run-around that some manager will call us.
This company cannot be trusted with simple things in your home and are not willing to take on responsibility! We have given them ample time to respond.

Leo is a con artist.   He wanted $549 to repair an eight inch pvc break outside the house.   I told him that was crazy and he was angry that I wouldn't pay that amount

We had a professional plumber come out the next day and we didn't pay a dime.  None of the exterior connections were up to code and was not our responsibility.

Beware of Village Plumbers.   It's a scam. The plumbers are low paid techs who do not have a clue what they are doing.

Don't Fix It... REPLACE IT!  If you have money to burn then call Village Plumbing and Air.  They appear to do good work, but count on paying 50% higher than any other independent plumbing or AC company in Houston.  I paid $5200 for the replacement and installation of 2 water heaters, after I called them for a CHECK-UP ONLY.  Both 11 yr old water heaters were WORKING before I allowed the plumber to replace them... my fault for panicking and not price comparing.

I also called for an A/C inspection (both my A/C units were ALSO WORKING).  The A/C guy came back with a $12,000 bill to replace the 5 yr old unit that was working just fine.  The technician flat out lied to me and said the unit was leaking, corroded and irreparable.  Did I mention this unit is still WORKING JUST FINE???  Thank goodness I didn't fall for their BS this time.

Shame on you Monica, hiding behind your Woman-owned Business advertising in order to take our hard-earned money.  You pass yourself off as an honest, built-from-the-ground-up female business woman, but you are no better than the other big corporate names in town driven by the almighty dollar.

Their plumber broke our air conditioner while working in the attic on a drain line!

And now they won't show up to fix the problem!

Got a text 80 minutes ago saying they are on their way to fix the problem.

No one returns calls. The first tech who called literally said that's not my problem, the plumber who broke it should come out, not me. we don't care who broke it. They just need to fix it.

But they don't.

I was disappointed that I was told 12 month interest free and when I contacted the loan company I was to be charged 10% interest every month, not as I was promised.
I was told first they would be there on Tuesday, which became Thursday and they would be there by 10am.  They didn't arrive until 5:30pm and patched it so I had water as I had been without for three days.
They came back the next day, again, supposed to be at 10am, didn't arrive until 5pm
Because of another issue with my plumbing,  I found out they had laid the pipes so close to the insulation that the insulation was melted.
I was extremely disappointed, especially considering I am a widow on a fixed income. I felt victimized
I will never recommend them to anyone.

i am a repeat customer and today I needed a plumber to clear a kitchen sink that is clogged. I am in a hi-rise condo and my building engineer could not clear it with a snake. He said I need a plumber with a thicker snake.  I called Village Plumbing and they wasted about 25 minutes of my time on Internet chat and then on the phone, where I got transferred 3 times to different people.  Finally they told me they could not use a snake in a hi-rise.  I am not a happy camper and will not willingly do business with them again.

Village Plumbing were great! We spotted a leak on a Saturday at noon. After calling around to other plumbers that were busy all day, we found Village Plumbing. The lady that answered the phone was so nice and helpful and immediately put us on the list. I received a call a couple hours later that they were on their way. The plumber was very friendly and helpful--turns out, we just had a clogged pipe where the AC drains, which is pretty common. He cleared out the pipe and taught us how to prevent it in the future. He only charged us $99 for the visit and repair, which also includes two AC services as part of their yearly maintenance program.  Considering the last minute service request on a weekend, I was very impressed by the price and quick response time!

We've had 2 major work projects (over 15k total) in the past year and both times left us thinking we should be using another company.

The first project was HVAC and they came out and told us we needed to replace equipment but we could leave other equipments untouched for now.  But the system did not work as believed and later we are told the other equipment won't work now because its not compatible with new equipment.  This is probably all true but the issue is (1) now i have to have another hard credit check to get financing when it could have been all rolled into one financing (2) why didn't the first technician tell us this? and (3) we may have chosen a different full-system if we'd known we had to change it all out.

Well OK, fine.  We pay it and get the whole new system.  Works great but we felt sour about the whole debacle.

Second project we felt like we were deceived, blatantly lied to and ultimately scoffed at for trying to get a straight answer.  As a licensed engineer myself I'm not without common sense and my neighbors agreed that all was not as explained.  The problem is I'm not going to go hire a lawyer to deal with situations like this - it cost more money to do that than walk away.  So, we threw our hands up and said all we can do is take our money elsewhere henceforth.

Ultimately, after much back and forth and frustration, they agreed to give us a partial refund.

For that final result, I'm appreciative but they've lost a customer for the future.

I went to Village as a second choice as my primary choice did not seem to want business.
They came twice, the first time the gentleman had a mask and shoe covers and did a diagnostic. He explained everything thoroughly and in an understandable manner for a layman like me. They had to order a piece, so unfortunately my a/c could not be fixed before the weekend. Two other people came back to install the coils the following week. They also wore masks but I had to remind them to wear shoe covers. They did the job but were overall less friendly than the first person who came. The gentleman who came the first time installed floaters , it was an upsell but he was not pushy and I had these in my previous home so accepted it.
Overall it came out short of $3k, my neighbor was astounded by the high price (he is a handy man) and told me I could have had it repaired for probably half the price.
So they are not cheap, but they did the job, on time, carefully.

The day of the scheduled visit I received a phone call to determine if I could reschedule. I informed the caller that it would be difficult. I was informed that a plumber would come that day. Contacted Village Plumbers about a slow draining sink in the master bathroom, they came out and after just running the faucet I was told the problem was the pipes and they needed to be changed, while they were at it they should change the ac drain pipe too, it would all cost $457.20. After the pipes were changed and the ac came on, the drain made a loud clapping noise and the sink was still draining slow. The tech then says I need to have a vent pipe in the ac system in the attack installed, once that's done the noise will stop and sink will drain. After a few days I pay an ac company to install the vent, the noise stops but the sink is still draining slow. I call customer service to complain and basically just get the run a round. By this point the sink has gotten so bad it can't be used. I call customer service again to get an email address so I send yet another complaint and the person has no idea what the email address is so I have to wait while she locates the information.
I send them a written complaint and hear nothing for a week. My next step is filing a complaint with the BBB, the next morning I get a call from Village Plumbers. They agree to give me a full refund.
I called another plumber and for $150 he put a 25ft drain snake into the pipes in wall and now my sink works perfectly.

Village Plumbing was out for a routine plumbing inspection where I asked them to check my turn and lock valve on my bathtub because it was starting to have a slow leak and I needed the trim piece replaced.  The tub worked fine, it just had a slight leak from the turn and lock gasket that kept the bathtub from filling up.  The work was quoted at $450, which is incredibly high I've learned since (averages $145-$250), and  after the banging and clattering for an hour, pulling out the hammer, etc., the plumber comes down to inform me that he has broken the waste and overflow line under the bathtub, asks me how old the house is? (it's 34 years old) and says the pipe probably corroded (it's PVC, PVC doesn't corrode).  He continues to yammer before telling me that he needs to speak with his manager.  Thirty minutes later he comes back to inform me that they will need to cut in to the sheet rock to repair the damages, and that the plumbing company isn't liable and it will cost me $1,500 extra.  (Two other companies have quoted me $500 for the job since, a job that now includes a repair that was not necessary in the beginning.    I've always paid a premium for Village Plumbing, but after speaking with multiple different plumbing companies around the city, I've found that this is a racket.  If you're charging a premium, you should probably take liability on jobs where your technician breaks something without the foresight to warn of the possible outcome or awareness to stop when it's at a threshold of fragility.  I will never use this company ever again, nor will I ever recommend this company to any friend.

Update 02-12-21

The Village Plumbing team came and made it right today.  I appreciate the timely resolution to my problem and appreciate your company doing the honorable thing.

We were pleased with their first service call.  That was for a spring check up of the HVAC system.  Then in August we noticed the primary A/C drain line was clogged, causing the condensate to drain through the auxiliary line.  A technician came on August 13th and cleared the blockage.  He quoted us a membership price of $299 to clear the line.  We thought that was high.  I asked if they had any discounts that could be applied to reduce the cost.  He said no.  We did have a $35 discount coupon that had been mailed to us that we used.   That afternoon I called the office to request an email copy of the invoice.  The lady in the office stated there was a $50 discount available for plumbing repairs.  She took my information and stated she would forward it to 'Customer Care' for review.  I called again on August 16, 18, 23, and 26.  Then I emailed on August 26 and 30.  I never heard anything from 'Customer Care'.  Finally, on August 31st I received a revised bill showing that a $50 credit had been applied.  No apology or explanation offered.   We expected more from a 'family run' business.

We had excellent service from Tommy from Village Plumbing. We had been experiencing some high water bills and concerned that we had a leak. Tommy diagnosed the problem quickly and repaired our leak. He cleaned up the area and left it as he had found it. Tommy was courteous, friendly and pleasant, He observed COVID 19 protocols. I would highly recommend Tommy and Village Plumbing and Air  Conditioning for your plumbing and AC needs

I would post zero or negative stars if it were available. On 2/16 during the freeze in Houston, we had busted pipes. I immediately called Village Plumbing (thinking they were premiere plumbers in the area) and booked service appointment for 2/20. That Saturday, no one called or came. I called the following Monday & left message with Monica Ryan (CEO) and express disappointment with poor/no service. Called again and spoke to Billy Ryan (so called Operations Manager) who was extremely rude and constantly interrupted me (real jerk). Ultimately, we were without water for 10 days (absolute misery because crappy Village delayed us contacting other plumbers). Finally a great local plumber in the Stafford area came to our rescue. Village Plumbing is a gutless, heartless, and crappy business. I hope they all catch COVID.

I knew calling village plumbing wouldn't be the most economical choice... but honestly, I was just lazy and wanted to get my leaking faucet fixed. So I paid the $60 some dollars to have them come out and check it out. I thought maybe it would $300-$400 but nope...they said it would it would be over $1000 to replace it. WHAAAAAAT!?

I of course did not pay that and went on youtube to see if I could replace it myself. So that's what I did. It took me under an hour and cost me about $30 in supplies.

Please don't make the same mistake I did. If you have a simple issue of replacing a sink faucet, IT IS SO SUPER SIMPLE. PLEASE TRY TO DO IT YOURSELF. On the other hand, if you have a more serious issue, I say go ahead and use village plumbing because they are professional and trustworthy. Or go to home depot. There are plenty of guys hanging around in the parking lot looking for a job and willing to do it at a great price. lol

But I also think its worth the piece of mind of using a company....JUST ON BIGGER PROJECTS. Don't be dumb like me and spend $1000 to change a faucet that takes literally 10 minutes!

CAN WE TRUST VILLAGE PLUMBING & AIR ???? NOPE. We thought we could but NOT.

Center point took our gas meter because of a gas leak. So, we hired Village Plumbing in Feb 2017. Mr. Brent and another technician came to take a look at the gas leak on Feb 16, 2017. They told us they found the leaks and will be able to fix it for $2566.37. It's a lot of money but we have to fix it. So, we decided to go with Village Plumbing.

Mr. Brent came the next day from 9:50 to 11:15 am. Mr. Brent told us that he can't find all the leaks, we will have to re-pipe the entire gas lines. OMG!!! It sounds like its going to be more expensive. We could not believe it.

However, we really need the gas back, so our baby can have a nice warm bath. Mr. Brent came to re-piped the gas dryer and gas water heater , and gas stove (they are right behind each other, about 5 feet away from Center Point gas meter) Our HVAC pipe was new from 2016, so he did not need to do anything to it. Mr. Brent was very friendly but he lied to us and city inspector after he claimed the job is finished on Feb. 22nd 2017. The inspection passed on Fed 23rd and We finally got our gas meter back on Feb 24th, 2017.

OMG~ the gas dryer is not working??? What is going on??? We could not believe Mr. Brent did not do anything to gas dryer but lied to us and the inspector. We had to call Village Plumbing to send us another plumber to connect the gas dryer in the same day. The technician (Mr. Brandon) said he will have to charge us $350 per hour if he has to come out in the same day. WHAT?!!!! Mr. Brent did not finish the job and we have to suffer through this???

The job was poor!!! The dryer gas pipe used to be under the house. Mr. Brandon was not be able to go install it under the house. He connected the pipes inside of our house around the walls. We could not believe it!!! It is very ugly and not done the job right.

We ended up with a bill of $3500 for this type of headache and can not trust these people. They also left our house dirty.

Once, Mr. Brent said to me.. Don't worry about the dirt. You should worry about you don't have the gas.

We have a baby that we try to keep the house clean as much as possible. Also, they left lots of cigarette butts in our back yard driveway.

How can we be HAPPY with this kind of service????

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Do not call them. I was charged $350 to have my kitchen drain cleared initially the man told me he'd have to use the big machine which was $750. Then he said he would use the small machine which was the  $350. At no time did he take the pipes apart and look at it before giving me this quote.

Be careful if they ask you to finance. Small repair about 750 and due to Christmas's figured would Finance and pay off after. Showed me a quote of something like $20 a month with zero % interest so I said sign me up. Turns out they pre approved me for 3500 which I thought was a credit limit  (credit card), but basically is a cash card. Now I have to pay  $200 a month for a 3500 loan at almost 30% interest! This for a 700 dollar repair. I asked if they could reduce loan amount to repair cost and they said no, call the finance company!

The tech was helpful and did a good job, so I am leaving two stars. Their finance practice seems unethical on how they bait you in and I will not use them again. I am sure they get kick backs from those finance companies to do this.

Village plumbing and air is the worst company I have ever dealt with.  Even after making an appointment they would not give me a window of time to expect them.  After calling them 3 times they finally said they couldn't make it on the day that was reserved.  Once I talked to a manager someone showed up, but he had no supplies in his truck.  He took pictures of the part I  needed for my toilet and sent them to someone.  I had already sent them pictures of the part when I made the appointment.  The plumber said he would call me the next day to tell me when he could install the part.  No one from the company ever called me with an ETA of when they could install the part.  I gave up and called another plumber.  I will never use Village plumbing again.  I wish I could give them zero stars!!!

My A/C Condensation drain pipe has clogged.  This has happened before and is cleared by a simple procedure of attaching a hose from an air tank and blow out the clog (a 5 minute procedure).  I called Village Plumbing and Air for a quote and was advised that I could only get a quote if a Tech was dispatched and that would be a $59.95 charge unless the work was done.  The Tech came out and quoted $462.00, an outrageous cost for a 5 minute procedure that I've had done several times in the past.  I feel I was SCAMMED by them and will never call them again.  The people I've used in the past are coming out this morning and will charge $87.00.

BUYER BEWARE!!! Village Plumbing service has gone completely downhill. They've always had a stellar reputation but I'm having a nightmare (!!!) experience with them in my purchase of a new washer/dryer. I wrote a check in January in good faith for almost $3,000 and was told my appliances would be delivered next week. Over two months later, no appliances, no returned phone calls, the manager, Brian Jackson, is HORRIBLE! Always in a meeting, and we know what that's code for. He never calls back, even after multiple attempts. Why would they? They've got my money, they have no further use for me. Meanwhile, I'm out $3,000 and have no appliances. Village Plumbing has basically stolen my money and won't give it back. As I said, buyer beware.

I contacted Village Plumbing knowing that we would spend a little bit more but wrongly assumed a hassle-free job would be worth the expense. It was not. My yard was not restored to the pre-work condition. Even worse, after contacting customer service about it, I was assured a resolution then was pretty much blown off after several attempts to follow-up. I wish I could post a photo of the metal edging that the workers ripped out and left out on the sidewalk leading to our front door. Terrible customer service.

Update:  company made it right in the end. There was evidently miscommunication within due to the nature of the problem. They apologized and completed the repairs at NO additional charge!

Old review: Too bad zero stars is not an option. Not responsive. 2.5 year old HVAC not cooling. Tech came out 9 days ago and charged me more than $500 for a service probably not needed. Still not cooling, came back 6 days ago and claimed he now knew what the problem was but it wouldn't be on them.

He called me the next day with a $350 estimate. Asked him to email it to me and he did the next day. I accepted the proposal that day (Saturday) and awaited a response. 3 days later, after no contact from Village, I called them and was told I would be contacted tomorrow (today) by a service manager. No contact today.

Too bad, I really wanted to support a locally, woman owned business. I will be seeking a refund and canceling my spring and fall maintenance contract. Don't throw your  money away.

Homeowners BEWARE of this business!  Although they typically charge more for services than other comparable companies, we continued using them for several years because we appreciated the thoroughness of their showroom employee Gary Browne (who spent countless hours working with us to to help put together a complex master shower system).  However, due to our recent experience with their dishonest HVAC contractor and management (who are clearly focused on making sales over actually identifying problems and meeting  customers needs), weI plan to stay as far away from this business as possible and strongly encourage others to get a second opinion before believing any of the recommendations made by their technicians/salesmen.

I contacted village air the week of June 14th to take advantage of their $59 AC tune up special for the month of June. My appointment was scheduled for June 29th, I was not given a time and was told that I would receive a text when a technician would be on their way. I did receive a text late morning 06/29 stating that someone will be at my home between 1-5. While waiting I had a missed call and voicemail from village saying that they need to reschedule my appointment to July 13! I returned there call and the lady who answered the phone rescheduled my appointment to 06/30, which I was ok with. However I never received any type of communication from village about when I should expect a technician, and no one ever showed up. Oh I failed to mention that I paid $79 for the 1yr plan when I scheduled my appointment. I will be contacting them after posting this review to request a refund for services NOT provided. I'll keep you updated

Folks, these people are the best in the business.  We had plumbing issues on a Sunday.  I called in and within 10 minutes we had a call back from Paris.  Within an hour, he was at our door and fixed what was not a very pleasant situation.  We use Village for all our home needs, - AC, plumbing, etc..... We pay a nominal annual fee and that puts us in priority status...well worth the money.  I can't say enough good things about the entire staff at Village.  Do you pay a little more - maybe, but having the piece of mind that the work is done right the first time is comforting.  Paris - you are a model employee...we certainly appreciate it. Our A.C. was not cooling as well as it used to so we called VP right away.
Mr Pablo showed up at the appointment time. He was very polite. He put his boot covers and went right to work. He spent some time in the attic, and changed the filter. It turns out the coil had frozen and was not allowing cool air to get by.
He was in and out in 45 minutes and everything is working great!
We are very happy with their service. This is the 2nd time we call Village Plumbing and we will continue to use their services.

Worst response ever!  I realize that Houston had a major issue with the pipes bursting from the extreme cold but that is no excuse for lousy customer service.  We are seniors in our 70s and called Village on Wed, Feb 17 when we noticed the leak.  The person we spoke to took all our information and told us we would have service in 24 to 48 hours.  So we didn't bother any other companies knowing that they would be swamped with others needing help.  After not hearing from them by Saturday we called again to get a recording that they apologized and were taking no new calls but would get to those who had called as soon as possible.  We waited until Monday and called again only to be told that our information was not in the system and the earliest they could get to us was March 9.  They refused to acknowledge or help with their mistake and apparently could not care less for commitments.  No here we are with no water and all other companies fully booked as well.  What a lousy customer service or willingness to fix a mistake.

Had a water leak, called after hours to get an idea of how long it would take to get a plumber out, dispatcher said 30-45 min. We get everything setup and next call I get is from the plumber who says it will be 3.5-4 hours before he gets there and tells me I should call someone else.

Bad customer service, will not use or ever recommend.

I was stuck using this company bc of a leak from right near the main shut off valve at my house. They charged an expected amount for the repair ($670) but then added on ridiculous charges to make the whole job a total rip off. The said they had to charge a dig fee of $450 dollars to dig a 3x3 area maybe about 2 feet deep up to see the pipe. On top of that they determined a helper to dig this 3x3 area was needed and charged another $350 dollars for that! Also they make you get their maintenance plan by charging 99 dollars but discounting rest of job 10%.  This was the 3rd company I called and since other 2 couldn't come and I needed the leak stopped sooner (wasn't hosing out but not a minor one either), they took well advantage of this in extortion job. The only plus side was the technician was a nice guy in general and he was not likely the final say in price determination. Watch out for these guys.

I wanted to leave the stars neutral. But system would not allow.
The company called saying the technician was on his way. He should be there within 30-45 min. Try 62 and sat in his van for a while.
I was asked by the receptionist if a ladder was needed. I said no why? She said the technician was asking because he does not have a ladder
I did not know units were on roofs
I asked the technician and he said yeah they are on townhomes. I thought did you guys even remember where you were going?
They do wear professional uniforms. Like a car sales man would wear.
As my son said  they do not plan do get dirty or do a lot of work
He inspected a.c.. I saw it was dirty
I told them I wanted the unit inspected and said I want coils cleaned since that is part if tune up.
The technician told me that we needed to leave the dirt on the coils because it is insulating the a.c.
He said he did not think add-on few in would help. So he suggested a new unit.
He said he has been in the business for years. He said this is not like a car.
So the dirt on the coils is helping the a.c. run.
So leave it on there
My adukt son is concerned if the technician did something else.
I tried my best to stick with the facts.

This place .... horrible, I request a drain cleaning/clear out for one of my units. The talked to a woman on the phone that night before to advise what I needed. She understood and advised that is what I'd get and if I needed anything addition the technician would advise. Yesterday morning the rep called and said the technician would be on there way in 30-45 mins, as I waited an hour I called back and another rep apologized and said no tech had been assigned...(the should have been my red flag to cancel them) the technician came and went into unit, about 20 mins later I received a text about the service, I thought wow that was fast, then my tenant text me that the tech charged 60$ and I said what did he do because the drain cleaning was a special for 99$, she said he left a paper about buying an enzyme. Wtf! Ok so I call the office and they were able to get the tech and I discuss my confusion, he says oh I didn't do the drain cleaning then I said if the drain needs an enzyme why didn't you just do that since he's now telling me you have to buy the enzyme from a authorized dealer. So I got off the phone with him because it was just horrible. Called back and got a rep who said the tech had the enzyme on his truck and he's not sure why he didn't do the service, they told me someone would come back this am,but at this point I haven't received any notice yesterday evening or this am about what time the tech will come. Don't waste you time energy or money with this company.

We used Village Plumbing again--this time to review our  AC system before summer heat hits.
We had the very knowledgeable, professional, conscientious, and FUN team member Scott Spears. He claims to be the old guy but with age comes know how, efficiency, patience and confidence. He thoroughly and very clearly explained everything he was checking and concerns he had with our two units. No pushy sales stuff-- just knowledge.
We have so much more confidence in our ac units lasting a while longer and we know what to watch for in terms of pending trouble. And thanks to their annual program that we signed up for, our plumbing and ac/heating will  be checked out twice a year.  Really great service!  We'll be asking for Scott again--before the old guy retires!

Update: Shortly after I wrote my last review, someone from Village contacted me to apologize and to try to dispatch a plumber to me as soon as they could (Thank you, Yelp!).  Unfortunately, the earliest they could send someone out would have been that afternoon, which was too late for the water shut-off.

Since they did seem sincere and genuinely apologetic about what had happened, I decided to give them a second chance, getting another water shut off and appointment scheduled this morning.  I got confirmation via a Yelp message that the plumber would be there well before 9AM, and sure enough, he was here well ahead of schedule today.

As for the service itself, Abel was great.  He was able to find the problem, a corroded galvanized hot water pipe, fairly quickly and even tried to argue on my behalf that the pipe should be considered a common pipe and complex maintenance's responsibility.  No dice, but I appreciated the effort and agreed with the points that he was making.  He was then able to replace it with a new PEX pipe and hook up the supply valves.

Price seemed to be on the higher end, but plumbing always tends to be pricey.  Abel is the man and deserves a 5/5, but it's annoying still to have had to take a second morning off because nobody showed up the first time.

Well they sure got my $59.  As is the case for many plumbing services - they'll refuse to give you any quote over the phone.  And I certainly understand that you could give a quote, then have the technician arrive at the property only to find a whole host of issues or find the issue was under explained over the phone.  So to save their own hides - NO phone quotes.  But I had a very simple issue - a clogged washer drain - and just wanted to know the price range.  This was for my tenant's home so I just needed to have it fixed right away and let her return to normal life.

So the plumber arrives and looks around then says we need to snake it - that which of course I knew and had asked about the price to do so.  He flips open this book with laminated sheets and finds the snake a washer drain item line and it reads $291.  This is the number I knew existed but the woman on the phone wouldn't disclose it.  Of course that is ungodly high, outrageous, and ridiculous.  I declined the service but they got my $59 for coming out and reading me the price in person from the holy price book.

Was this ever resolved?  Yes. I took note of the machine the plumber was going to use had I agreed on the price then went to Home Depot and rented one at $30 for 4 hours of use.  It was a 25 ft electric drain snake and it did the job.

Our AC in the master bedroom suite stopped working. We checked it and realized it was the pan was full and switched off the AC which is normal but we have a pump thatsWe had the worst experience with their AC services.  John was the service tech that came out supposed to pump water out to the vent drain to our WC. John came out and started bashing how bad the AC setup was and how he needed to reroute the drainage from our pan. Almost $ 1500.  We asked John to please service or replace the pump as we didn't want to reroute everything since he would remove the pump. He basically yelled as us telling us that the pump was the reason our AC stopped. We have had this setup up since we bought the house with no problems but something was preventing the water to drain. We asked him to please keep the current layout but clean out the primary drain/pan and reuse the pump. He started yelling at us basically saying we were wasting his time. That he has been doing this for 15 years... which let's be honest is Not very long.
So access to the drain line is under the AC unit so it's horizontal so incline. We explained why we wanted to keep the pump. He said no. I have never encountered such a disrespectful person especially in the service business. He told us he could fix it then but his way.  We said if you can guarantee it won't clog or get mold in the horizontal pipe. He said he would reroute it properly.
We were going out of town and didn't have time to get anyone else so we felt pressured to go with them. Then he says he has to go back up and measure for materials.

So I called Village and said that they have a good reputation for good work and good people. I told him how disrespectful he was and that we changed our minds. They basically said we should give him a chance to fix it.  I should have demanded someone else.
He came downstairs and says he will drop the price and then ask for money for a shutoff for the primary pan. At this point I suspect he got a callback from dispatch.
We said no we don't need it because we already have one and he said we didn't... later on we realized he never opened our unit so he hadn't seen it.
then he apologized started saying that he will fix it better than before.
Unfortunately we agreed. Next he says he has to leave to get extra materials. At this point I should have told him no.  He's gone for 2 hours.
When he gets back he starts working and then comes down saying he has to leave and will come back because he doesn't have all the materials he needs and that something is wrong with our unit and that by the way the he installed the shutoff for free?

We were so pissed. My husband looks at what he did and basically left everything as before except put a pvc pipe where the pump was connecting it the horizontal pipe that was already there... but without pump. So now we still have water accumulating in our pan he never looked at the primary drain that's still overflowing and some how he cut the power to our bathroom plugs probably when he removed the pump.
Stay away and will never use again.
So much for ethical behavior and doing the right thing.

99 dollar special advertised is not real. 2 days for scheduling.  When arrived, did not have tools to clear\clean drain.  said my pipes are to old for their tools.  They were aware from initial phone call, that the house was built in 50's. Told me that because of the pipes, it would be 480 dollars to clear the problem.  I felt like the entire visit was a sales pitch.  Sent him on the way, called a local who had my drains cleared with 2 hours for 110 dollars.  Village is a joke.  Be aware.

All about quality work and customer satisfaction!
I called this company because four of my kitchen appliances went on the fritz at about the same time.  They sent out Ricardo who was totally awesome.  He was so very courteous, so knowledgeable, so patient, answering a myriad of my endless questions.  He gave me a simple solution for how to get my fridge going again without replacing it.  I ended up replacing my oven, cooktop, and vent hood (they were almost 20 years old!), and Ricardo took all the time I needed to help me figure out which new appliances I wanted.  He came back later to do the install, and when he was done, my kitchen was left looking spic and span.  This was a level of professionalism that is rare today.

We called Village Plumbing for a small plumbing issue earlier this year. We knew that we were probably over paying for the service but they got the job done.

Starting a couple of months ago my husband started getting calls from them, saying that we had signed up and paid for an HVAC service where they come out and make sure everything is working properly. My husband told them several times that we weren't available for that service due to work, but they called repeatedly and he finally relented.

I met the man that they sent (I wish I could remember his name), and he immediately headed for the attic. He spent less than 5 minutes in the attic before coming down and telling me that the furnace was incredibly old and damaged, that he turned it off because he couldn't leave it on in good conscience, and that this is how people die. He said we needed a new furnace, quoted me a special price of $3,000 and reminded me that it was getting cold soon.

I'm hardly a human lie detector, but his delivery of the information alone was enough to make me question what he said. We called in a second and third opinion from companies that relatives of ours trust. Both service techs said that there was NOTHING wrong with our furnace. They said that it was an older unit but in good working shape, and they only charged us for the callout fee.

I suppose they think that because they deal with customers in a certain part of town that we have money we don't need and brains we don't use. Do NOT use Village Plumbers, and if you do make sure to get a second opinion.

Hot water stopped working. Called this company even though we weren't exactly happy with their service previously. My husband was out of town and they worked on my tankless hot water heater for an hour. They charged me $350 to diagnose the problem, then said it would be a $3k repair, or I could get a new one for $6500. FOR A WATER HEATER THAT ONLY COSTS $2-3k TOPS. They did nothing to fix it and left. I called someone else who came out and was able to diagnose the issue immediately, AND since I had TWO water heaters, reroute the 2nd to give me hot water. (Village had never offered to do that. Why?) He ordered the part and fixed a few other minor issues for $800. Where on earth did these insanely high prices come from? I felt robbed of the $350 to diagnose it. Ridiculous. I paid it because it was a same-day appointment but in the end they offered no solutions for immediate relief and wanted to completely replace a working water heater.

I'm writing to amend my previous review which complained about the high price of a simple unblocked drain. The company contacted me to amend the price which I gratefully accepted. My assessment is that Village Plumbing is quite possibly the top of the line in plumbing repair in this area, and as such, they charge premium prices in order to sustain their knowledgeable, professional, and well-trained staff; their impressive fleet of vehicles and equipment; and their dominance of the market share. There are times when quality at all costs is the primary concern in which case, Village Plumbing should be your first call.

The missing star is because the first visit by another Village Plumbing employee resulted in him pouring in Freon instead of fixing the problem and ended up costing more money in the end. Jose came out with another young man on August 6th and they replaced my drip pan and evaporator coil and had my unit working great. Unfortunately, by 9/16, my ac was struggling again but Jose came out again, found the problem that was not handled the last time and fixed it under warranty. He let me know that they will be back in the spring to do a system check so that I'll be okay for the summer. Hopefully, I won't run into anymore AC issues because my pockets can not handle it.

I started having some issues with my tankless water heater. The first service rep I called from the vendor's web site sounded like the guy's wife answered and there was kids and chaos brewing in the background. The second guy asked me about the last time I had the unit serviced. I said never( the manual never mentions de-scaling) and he told me the situation was hopeless and the unit would have to be replaced and was a bit indignant about it.

I breathed a sigh of relief when I called Village Plumbing! The lady who scheduled our appointment was friendly and helpful. The plumbers who came to do the initial part of the job were also respectful and helpful. The lead service professional, David I., impressed me with his conscientious problem solving approach. They helpfully corrected some other plumbing issues I had overlooked. David made every effort to make sure our unit performed perfectly, but was not completely successful because of gas supply issues. He educated me about the problem and possible corrections that could be made with our supplier. The staff and schedulers were always friendly, professional, and helpful. I am very thankful I called Village Plumbing.

Yesterday my husband and I had an issue with UV lights and filters in our HVAC system. Village Plumbing and Air promptly sent out Bryan who was courteous but also fixed our issue quickly and provided guidance on future maintenance and care for the system. His advice was honest and he charged us a fair and appropriate price for the urgent fix we needed on a Saturday afternoon. We will definitely be requesting Bryan for our upcoming service appointments and annual inspections.

Arranged to have my condo's A/C checked this spring. They were supposed to come out on a Monday and then called and rescheduled for Wednesday from 1-6. On Wednesday at 10am I received a call that there was a technician not far and could he come in 40 min. I said yes, and that it would take me 25 min to drive and meet him. I immediately jumped in my car and drove from my house to the condo and then proceeded to wait 40 min. When I called the dispatcher said 'Oh, the tech coming doesn't have an extension ladder to reach the rooftop unit, and the tech that does can't come until the afternoon'.
Needless to say I was VERY unhappy and rescheduled with another company

Called this company for emergency service since they say they are 24hr. they said they would be out in the morning. Ok, fine we will wait. They came out in the morning without calling, when he left he said he would come back to do the repair. They never came back, never called, tried calling them 3 times with no answer.  Hired someone else.

Total scam. They don't give quotes or even ranges over the phone. They charge you $59 to have a technician come out and only then give you a quote. The technician came out for less than 1 minute- looked at our sink and told me that the price for a simple reverse osmosis system would be $1,500!! That's an outrageous quote, but more importantly, had they given me a range over the phone we wouldn't have wasted $59 on someone coming out for less than 1 minute in our home.

I contacted Village for an estimate on replacing my water heater and I immediately got an email and a call back. They sent their guys out in 2 days.  they sent me an email with the image of the employee that was coming to my house. I wish all the companies would do this. They called me 30 minutes before they arrived. They were professional and friendly.  I will definitely recommend this company to family and friends.

I live in a mid rise in the Galleria area. My AC was not blowing properly and would not hold a temperature (weak air flow). The tech told me it was low on Freon and charged me $550. I would've been fine with this if it fixed the issue. After he was done the air flow was still weak. He insisted that it would work and cool down. It did not. I hired another AC company to take a look. The bad air flow was due to a dirty coil. The tech from Village didn't properly diagnose the issue. Basically I was ripped off $550. I wrote in to them to see if they would make the situation right. I never heard a response back.

Jose, the Service Tech, has just made Village Plumbing and Air our new go to company. He was direct, very professional and helpful. In fact, from the time Kerry answered my desperate call following Harvey, all employees (Kerry, Doug, Michael, and Jose) were wonderful. Each was pleasant and there were no attempts to get over, which is refreshing during this time of stress. Thank you all!!

How many times do you allow a business to solve a problem before identifying them as the problem? Our case is SEVEN times in less than 24 months of a new system! We spend approximately $20,000 with Village Plumbing & Air (VPA) replacing our HVAC system less than 24 months ago. Since the replacement, we have had two Freon leaks, one due to faulty installation and another due to a manufacturing problem with the exchangers in our Lennox unit. Resolution of these two leaks took VPA a total of five visits. Recently we had our less than 24 month old Lennox system freeze up and are now waiting for the second service call to resolve this; this will bring the total visits to SEVEN for this system. Adding frustration is the poor response of VPA to service problems, at one point requiring another company to fill the Freon at OUR cost (this would be visit number 8) since VPA could not respond in a timely manner - note that Freon for two HVAC systems is not inexpensive and at no time to VPA offer to reimburse this amount due to the faulty equipment covered by warranty and a maintenance contract! The number of calls is excessive and impacting my own business, which is costing me money in addition to having to deal with multiple technicians. I truly hope the ownership of VPA reads this and is truly embarrassed. I will continue to post reviews for EVERY future service call from them regarding this installation/warranty issue.

They installed a water conditioner directly into my main water line without a turn off valve. During the freeze the pipe broke. I called so many numerous times  for 21 days I had no water to my house. 21  days without water!!! I finally had to call the city plumbing inspector to get them to come out. Of course it was installed out of code. Then the owner called the inspector and they had it out.  Apparently Village has hundreds of these permits that have never been passed.

I've been using Village Plumbing since I moved here in 2013.  Having a/c problems the entire time because of an old unit. I Love their customer service and this is why I used Village to get a new a/c. We called village plumbing because a pipe cracked due to the city of houston's stupidity.  They sent 3 guys to dig up our yard and replace the pipe who couldn't speak English.  We left after a few minutes because there was no water in our house.  They worked on it for probably 4 hours and then called us to say the water was back on.  We came home and found out that the water was still not on, even after they replaced the pipe.  We called the supervisor, Abrahan and he told one of his guys to come and get the water on.  It's been 2 hours and no one has shown up and the supervisor is assuming no responsibility for getting the job done right.  Unbelievable.  This is our first and soon to be last time using Village Plumbing.

Had village plumbing come out to quote seating a toilet (all hardware was onsite) and fixing a small crack in a piece of PVC pipe. Village quoted $750 to seat the toilet and $250 to fix the pipe.

I recently moved to Houston and these prices seemed outrageous to me, but perhaps it's just the going rate here. However the cost of living here is low so it really surprised me.

I ran to a local plumbing supply store and fixed the pipe for $15 in parts and 30 minutes of time. Seating the toilet took another 45 minutes. Honestly, with self-setting flanges installing a toilet is pretty much idiot proof.

The actual plumber was wonderful so I will give 2 stars for that. However, dealing with this company and the staff has been an absolute test of my patience the last 4 weeks as I have struggled to get a billing dispute corrected. Of course they have their money already so no wonder I have made 15+ phone calls trying to get someone to correct the problem. I don't know how this place stays in business with such horrible customer service. Take your house service needs elsewhere.

I don't even know how long this review is going to be... but hang with me.  First of all, over a week ago, we noticed our hot water pressure in our shower/tub was not working.  We could get very hot water, but it barely trickled out.  So we called Village.  The next day, they sent Dusty to our condo.  My fiance' met him and he immediately diagnosed the problem as our water heater.  Said everything was old, etc. and he'd get a permit and be out the following Wednesday (December 16) to install a new one.  He didn't even look at the shower/tub (which I also blame my fiancé for because he should've made him look at it).  We put $946.00 on a credit card, which was half for the new hot water heater & installation.  Then we did all the arrangements, had my mother come over to the house, etc. on Wednesday to sit and wait.

Meanwhile, I had thought about it, looked over the estimate and something just kept telling me, what if the new heater doesn't fix the pressure problem?  So we called Dusty 2 days prior to our scheduled date and he ASSURED us that the new water heater would fix the problem.  And he would wait to fill up the tank and make sure it worked before he left.

Wednesday 10 a.m. comes and Dusty doesn't show.  11:00 comes and he still hasn't shown.  My fiancé texts him (Dusty's request was to get texts rather than calls).  He mentions that oh, he's busy and not going to make it out today - but maybe tomorrow.  We said NO.  We had made lots of arrangements and needed him out today as he and Village had promised.  My fiancé drove to Village's office and explained the situation.  They too wanted to re-schedule but when we said no, they said ok, we have a really good technician, David, who can come.  So we agreed to let David come out.  About half an hour later (I'm at work) my mom calls me and says David is here and he wants to talk to you.  So David got on the phone and explained that we did not need a new water heater at all (eventually we will but not today) and that a new water heater would not solve the water pressure problem.  He advised me all he needed to do was replace a cartridge in the faucet and it would be about $300.00.  I was happy, to say the least, but also really stressed out from all the issues.  So he finishes up, we pay him $285 (on a separate credit card from the one we originally used) and all was well.

After all was said and done, I called Village back and explained that they were very lucky this had all worked out the way it did.  They said they were very very sorry and would get the paperwork together to issue a refund to my credit card for the $946.00.  Throughout the day I rec'd several calls from Village asking again what had happened, how sorry they were and how they were working really hard to issue the credit back.  Blanca called and told me a story about how she had dealt with something similar so she understood.  This a.m., I received yet another call from a man who wanted to hear the story yet again and then he began to tell me how great village was for their checks and balance system.  This was NOT the case.  Dusty lied about his schedule and that's the only reason we found out the truth from David.  So this caller again assures me they are getting the paperwork ready to issue our refund.  (Funny how quick they can take it out but refunding it is a different story).  Finally 3 hours later, I called Village back, not happy, and Blanca answered.  I told her I wanted the refund issued immediately and didn't want to tell stories anymore or hear about paperwork.  She kept saying calm down so I can help you.  REALLY?  She finally calls me back, asks for the credit card info which I gave her.  Then right after that she calls again and tells me she just called and issued the credit.

The end of the story is, I called the credit card co 5 hours after she claims to have called in the refund.  They had not gotten any such call.  So I disputed the amount and now Village can deal with the credit card.  I just can't understand, why knowing they were wrong and the credit needed to be issued, that they would continue to hold off on crediting me and continue to call and want to talk about it.

Never again - and be warned.

In fairness, I am grateful to David for telling us the truth and fixing the part correctly.

Where all most all plumbing companies give you a free estimate, they charge $59.99  for someone to come out within a 1 mile from where they are. Estimate may be 5x of other contractors.

I was able to get 3 estimates for free and got the job done very well.

I have been on Yelp now for 8 years reading reviews etc, this is the first time (good or bad) I have actually posted. I know, I am lazy. I am very forgiving but our last two experiences with Village have been nothing short of jaw dropping. Full disclosure: neither my wife nor I are plumbing or HVAC experts, we have to rely on the professionals. We also trust people and take them for their word....never again will we hire Village due to the below two instances within the past 6 months.

#1: I went to take a shower one morning and twisted the handle...nothing. No water. Called Village up and they were there the next day to asses the situation. We were given this laundry list of items that were causing the issue and that the only way to replace it was to remove the wall behind the handle. Drill a massive hole, bust out tile, redo the drywall all so that they can get our shower working? (not to mention a $2,000+ price tag) This did not seem right, even to someone who knows nothing about how showers work. Sure enough, went on Nextdoor and found a plumber that a neighbor recommended. He came out, I mentioned what Village told me and he started shaking his head. Sure enough, the cartridge within the lever had simply deteriorated. He removed the handle with a screwdriver, popped the old out, stuck a new one in and was out of our house in 30 minutes (and only $300).

#2: This happened today. Village emailed me and said we had one free furnace check prior to winter. Okay great. My wife was there to meet them (taking time off of work). This clown told my wife that when they put a new roof on 6+ years ago that they had nailed holes into furnace flue pipe. This was causing carbon monoxide to leak into our attic and therefore he immediately shut the furnace off until we could get it fixed. Not only that, but he claimed that we needed a new furnace and potentially just to start over with a new HVAC system. He gave my wife three quotes - $1,000 to replace the flue pipe (a small piece of metal), $3,000 for a new furnace....and $12,000+ for a new HVAC system! We did not ask for any of these items, but he sure as hell scared my wife to death by making her think we had significant carbon monoxide floating around in our attic. Given what happened before with the shower, I called out our usual HVAC technician. He runs his own company that services massive industrial facilities and does this for us somewhat as a favor. He had a look and immediately started laughing. Not only was everything up to code, but there was ZERO leakage of CO in the attic and he has the exact same system within his own home! The furnace works completely fine, the flue is intact with no holes/leakage and the rest of the HVAC is in perfectly good working condition. To think Village would have happily accepted replacing our entire HVAC system for a cool $12,000+, while knowing it is unnecessary and that they scared my wife into thinking it was is nothing short of extortion.

DO NOT TRUST THESE FOLKS. IF THEY HAVE QUOTED YOU ON SOMETHING, GET A SECOND OPINION IMMEDIATELY.

We will be taking this to the BBB as well.

I called yesterday afternoon about a potential leak in my system that my warranty company refused to fix. Bryan came out same day and informed me of the issue present in my system. I had an R22 evaporator coil and a 407C condenser. This combination is obsolete and nearly no one works on these units anymore, Bryan told me about the history of those units and the performance of those types of units and how it is just a patch and not a long term solution. He suggested contacting the manufacturer to find people who worked on those types of units. He also provided me with a picture of the model and serial # so I could knowledgeably speak to the manufacturer. He was honest about how he could help and efficient. He got there early and didn't BS me about how he could fix this and that, he was honest, which is the most endearing quality when dealing with HVAC issues, since most of us are not versed. Will definitely contact village in the future thanks to Bryan's professionalism.

I am having my A/C replaced so went online to a service that solicits quotes.  Village Plumbing called me.  Yes, they called me because I wanted to buy an air conditioner (probably over $10,000 for what I need).  These jokers wanted to charge me $59 to come out to my house and give me a quote for a new A/C.  I had no trouble getting five quotes from other companies in the last half hour and nobody wanted to charge for the quote.  I cannot believe that anyone would be foolish enough to do business with a company like this one.  If they want to screw me and overcharge for a quote, then I cannot imagine how expensive it would be to have them do work.

We called these folks for a simple pedestal sink replacement.  When the technician showed up, he quoted us $450!  It was only a few weeks earlier that they came out to replace a shower lever for $125, so how much harder could this be?  Well, we obviously said No thanks and the technician said he couldn't leave till we paid him $60 for the service call.  What?  This sounds like a total racket and I would be very weary of these folks.

We have used Village Plumbing for all  our a/C and plumbing needs since we bought out vintage 1926 home 12 years ago.   This most recent work done by Scott was excellent as usual.  He even crawled under our house to try to fix ductwork.  I say try because he literally couldn't crawl over or under the beams under the house.  He installed a new thermostat that we supplied, inspected our two units and installed two surge protectors.

We wil continue to call on Village Plumbing for all our service needs.

SCAMMERS!  Had a furnace check yesterday with this company. The technician turned the unit on and it was in normal operating condition. Then proceeded to tell me CO2 was detected and that heat exchanger was cracked. Immediately began trying to sell me one of their units with their financing. Told him I needed second opinion. Centerpoint Gas came this morning and cleared the unit- ABSOLUTELY NO CO2 LEAK AND NO CRACK. I'll be sure to get the word out that this company either has a lying technician or a technician that has no idea what they're doing.

Very good experience!
I called them because the main drain of my home was clogged. A technician showed up a few hours later.
He used a snake to fix the problem but he realized the problem was past my fence. He still tried to fix it but the clamp on his snake ended up breaking. He just charge me a simple diagnostic fee and waived the fee for fixing the problem. Problem is now with the city of Houston!

Note: to village plumbing, please make sure to notify about diagnostic fee that is charged of the owner refuses the quote.

Took advantage of my wife.  The sink in my daughter's bathroom was stopped up.  I could not take care of it because I was leaving town, so my wife called Village Plumbing.  Charged $395 to unstop it.  Took longer to walk in the house and out than to unstop the line.  They told my wife how much it would cost, she said it seemed expensive and was told that is what it would be.  She did not know better.  This is outrageous.  Will make a point to tell one person a day for the rest of the year to never use this outfit.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I called village plumbing to set up an appointment. The lady was very nice and helped me get a specialist out that same morning. When the guy came out I explained everything I did to replace the outside water faucet. I turned off the water, took the old faucet out, replaced the faucet etc. After all the interventions I did, I concluded that it would be a pipe instead. Then the guy looks at me crazy like I did something wrong and starts the conversation with trying to sell me their yearly membership packages. He was more concerned on why the lady over the phone never talked to me about it. Once he was finished giving me paperwork and pamphlets about the membership he goes on to write my quote to change the faucet and has me sign it. I question him about the warranty and he looks at him like I just asked him a question I shouldn't have. He made me feel awkward after that second stare. Then he tells me he'll go ahead and put a thirty day warranty and has me rush to sign it the contract. While I'm reading the contract he asks me twice if I finished signing it. I told him no the first time and still he asked the second time. I wanted to make sure what I was signing since he hesitated when I asked about the warranty question. Once I signed he grabs a wrench and brings it to me so I can do the job. Wait what?!? He gives ME the wrench and has me tighten it myself. I told him I can't but he still insisted I did it. After I had to demonstrate that I couldn't, he goes insulting me and my husband that we couldn't fix the faucet by tightening it. Now I'm thinking this guy is a jerk for making that comment. Once he tightened the faucet, he grabs a backflow valve that has to be screwed to the faucet and has me tighten in and make sure the screw falls off. Again! He had me do the work! I didn't know I had to called for a service but I end up fixing it AND still end up paying for replacing it when it wasn't replaced. It was just tightened. What a jerk and what a rip off. After I practically ended up fixing the problem, he goes back to the yearly membership packages I should invest in. When I tell him I'm not interested he gives me an ugly look for not accepting it.

Never again will I call village plumbing. I don't need someone who is a jerk and has me do the work myself but still charge me.

We had a leak in our water main and called Village Plumbing. They said they would come between 8 am and 1 pm. They finally showed up at 6pm and quoted a full day of work & $2000. A coworker told me he had something similar done a month before for $400 by a plumber in Spring. So I looked for  another plumber on Yelp and called Chavez plumbing; they showed up on time, quoted $285 and completed the repair in  30 minutes. Needless to say we will be using Chavez for all our plumbing needs.

The technician Geoff W. did a very good job and was quite helpful and provide a very good explanation of what was wrong with my heating system.

My only complaint was that I was not told when I spoke with Kerry early in the morning was that if I missed the call, then they would not wait a few minutes for me to return the call and that that available technician would be sent to someone else and I would go back on the waiting list. I missed Joel's call as I do not keep my cell phone on me at all times and so missed his call by a few minutes. That was extremely frustrating to me. This is the reason for a 3 star rating.

Needed to have an upstairs drain snaked.  They came out, only to upsale services that are not necessary.  They wanted $468.00 to snake the drain, which I had the same drain snaked in September, but apparently didn't fix the problem because I'm having the same drain snaked again. I had the drain apart already and the PVC pieces clean. They wanted to reclean the PVC pieces with an algaecide, so not necessary since I had already cleaned and check the HVAC line which was draining just fine, I use Clorox monthly to free the drain of algae.  VERY EXPENSIVE in my opinion!!!

VERY disappointed. The guy showed up, had a brief look to the sink, and suggested to pay $291 for simple stoppage. Since I wanted him to have a look at 2 sinks, it took me to appr. $600! When I refused to get this kind of service, the guy suggested to fix too by the price of one. When I said no, thank you he charged me $60 for the estimate. Not the guy's fault - it's a firm policy... but i strongly NOT recommend these guys. Save your money for something useful.

IF YOU ARE READING THIS THEN DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST BEFORE YOU GET TRICKED BY THIS COMPANY!!! My mom was the one who hired this company as she needed her shower valves inspected. She searched google for a plumbing company and they popped up first.  On google they have a 4.3/5 rating, but on here their rating is 3/5, which is a significant difference. After they did their inspection, the technician provided the estimate of $1,175.00 to install a new one or $748 to repair it. Mind you there were no SPECIFIC DETAILS ON THE ESTIMATE PAPERWORK which should be stated on there already! She was  informed the cost was higher due to the fact they had to cut out the wall and do a lot of other what they call necessary things in order to get to the pipes and fix them. They even told my mom this price is based on the project itself, it doesn't matter if the technician takes 5 minutes or 5 hours to do the project, the price is going to be the same. LIKE WHAT?! That doesn't make sense. It wasn't until my mom received the estimate that she decided to compare that price with other companies and come to find out this company was charging her WAY TOO MUCH!!! She ended up losing $60 for the estimate fee or deductible fee or whatever they want to call this charge and instead chose a different yet HONEST company to complete the job WITHOUT ANY WALLS NEEDING TO BE CUT OUT!!!  FYI my mom is an Asian 60ish y/o lady that doesn't speak English very well, which is why I am speaking on her behalf. But I just think it is a shame that this company is okay with taking advantage of others. Just look at all the bad reviews others had to say about them.

I had a great experience with Village Plumbing. The problem with handyman reviews is many times the only people that review are the ones who had bad experiences.

I had some pretty simple things that needed to be done in the condo that I rent. I really had no idea what to do myself so I called a plumber. My kitchen sick had lost all water pressure and dirt came out every time I turned it on. Also my bath tub was slowly clogging up. I tried draino and it didn't work. So while I had the plumber out for the sink I figured he could deal with the drain also.

I called village on a Saturday and they were available to come out that day. I had called several places before hand who could not come out for several days. This was my first call to a plumber so I didn't know I should have planned ahead. Will do so in the future. They said they could have a guy out in about 3 hours. I was so excited since the dishes had been piling up for several days with our goofy sink.

The main reason I gave them four stars is because our plumber, Chris W., was about 30 minutes late. Which in any kind of repair person talk is pretty much on time. I had been expecting that. But it is worth a one star deduction.

He easily figured out the sink problem (filter was clogged with dirt which caused the water not to come out and dirt to flow through every time it was turned on). So he showed us how to fix that if it happened again the future.

When he got up to the tub he looked at it then tried some of his industrial drain cleaner. He explained in condos they don't like doing the snake since the pipes normally do weird things and its easier to break them. The drain cleaner worked perfectly! He also said they sell the drain cleaner in their store in Rice Village for $10. You don't use the whole thing for each time.

We only had to pay the service fee which was $59. While that does seem a little pricy for such easy fixes, he did a great job and showed us how to do them in the future.

I will use Village Plumbing again when I need it.

Just read some of the reviews and had to comment.: seemed like the number one complaint is being charged $60 for someone to come out to give an estimate.
1st. Gas for the vehicle
2nd. Licensed professionals time
3rd. Do it yourself!
Just my opinion

Our water heater broke 2 nights ago. I am skeptical when it comes to handyman/honey-do jobs, assuming service providers are out to nickel and dime me for unnecessary tasks or items. So, after checking threads online and deciding I had neither the knowledge nor frustration tolerance to solve this (I'm useless if I don't get a hot shower. First-world woe is me!), I agreed with my hubby that a plumber would be worth the financial sacrifice.

Nick from Village Plumbing was over shortly after we called yesterday. He was clean, polite, quick, thorough, and made a point to explain things clearly without a sales pitch. Actually, he noticed that our water heater was still under warranty, then gave me all the info I needed to call and see what I could get for free. It ended up being a better deal to have Village Plumbing install a new Bradford White (the only appliance company of this kind that manufactures a lot of its parts in the USA) heater to replace the junky one the former homeowners installed (it broke in 4 places after only 3 years). Unfortunately a tankless water heater was not a good fit for our 1920s pipelines.

Anyway, I called yesterday to book an appt for Nick and an apprentice to install a new heater today. They arrived by 9am (the window was 8-12) and were through with the job by 11:30. Oh, and they discovered that our drain pipe had been improperly installed the first time around, so they ended up crawling under the house to add piping so that it would reach the side of the house instead of flooding below it. They told my husband about this after doing the work. The added charge? $0. They just wanted us to be happily up to code.

We ended up buying a maintenance package for $99 which has already paid for itself b/c it discounted the price of the installation by over $100. Included in the package is the opportunity to receive free estimates on any other plumbing work. Regardless of if we hire these guys to do the work, the usual $59 fee is waived. This is a super plus for us considering the number of shortcuts we've discovered the previous owners to have taken in renovating our little bungalow.

It is so refreshing to find a trustworthy local service company for this type of  home maintenance.

Placed a call for emergency service for the a/c and was told that a technician would be calling.  Waited over an hour and called back to the emergency service number for clarity as for a time when a technician would be coming.  I was informed that oh you're at the discretion of the technician.  Then went online to get help to set an appointment for Monday as well as to see if the person online would help with emergency service.  NO.  Was instructed to call the emergency service phone number.  There needs to be more coordination with your emergency service personnel as well as with the technicians to coordinate with the customer as to a time of service.  This is sub-par customer service....

I had Village Plumbing out this week for an outdoor water line break.  Everyone I worked with was extremely friendly and easy to talk to.  The Plumber that came out to the house explained that the ground shifted (common in Houston) causing the line to break.  He was patient and answered all my questions.

I understand plumbing charges are expensive industry wide, but my only wish was that it did not cost a paycheck to get the water line fixed.

After reading the below response from the company we were infuriated. To clarify, there WAS a gas leak which ONLY occurred after Village Plumbing worked on the water heaters and despite it being considerably large per CenterPoint, they failed to properly detect before they left. A gas leak is much more than an inconvenience. If you can't tell by the language they use to respond to my initial post, they simply want to downplay this and pretend it never happened.

Bad customer service.

My wife and I had them come out to replace a sink drain and they charged us a $60 diagnostic fee to tell us that they would have to come out another day.  I made the second appointment for first thing in the morning only a few days later.  Before leaving the tech also told my wife that the P trap on the sink was not up to code.  When I spoke with a relative, who is a licensed home inspector in Texas, I was given the specific code and took the appropriate measurements to determine that my P trap was, in fact, up to code.

On the day of the second appointment at about noon, I received a call saying that the tech would not be able to make it out there in time....which had already been made fairly obvious.  The dispatcher who called, did apologize for the delay.  However, when I asked her why her tech told my wife that our sink was not up to code, I was told that she'd contact the tech and get right back to me.  After waiting almost 2 hours, I gave up and called them back to cancel the appointment.

That was the worst $60 I've ever spent...

Update (08/28/09) - This company has made attempts to rectify the situation.

Let me say I never ended up using Village but want to document my experience with their customer service.  I had some plumbing issues on a rental, called during business hours, and explicitly asked if they charged a service fee to go out and give an estimate.  The lady who answered (turns out she was the answering service) said no.

Couple hours later an actual rep from Village called and wanted to confirm I'm giving permission for their staff to come out and do work since it was a rental.  I said of course, but I wanted to just confirm their would be no charge for the estimate.  The rep said there is no fee for the estimate, but they do charge a dispatch fee.  She then spent the next few minutes arguing with me about semantics of free estimates vs. dispatch fees.

I can understand the mixup with the answering service, but arguing about how their dispatch fee should not take away from their free estimate is a total FAIL!  As a potential customer, I don't care what you call it.  I just want to know if we are going to be charged upfront in any way to come out and give a bid.  I actually don't mind paying a small fee for estimates as I understand the cost of doing business but just felt I got misled.

I had Village Plumbing come out for a stopped up sewer drain around 9 pm on a Saturday night and they charged me $844!  This was a simple auger job of the main line. They did not have to pull a toilet and went through a cleanout. This  was highway robbery. What a rip off. Don't use this company as they take advantage of you. Then they called their buddies who do emergency clean up-ESR before even asking me. They get a kickback by doing this. The ESR wanted to charge me $2000 for a minor bathroom clean up. I did not use them. These people are thieves.
Update: Village plumbing contacted me and we discussed the service and cost. They agreed to reduce the cost to a fair cost. Village plumbing does care about their customers and wants to make them happy. They did a good job and were prompt to the job. Thank you Village Plumbing

Great experience with the company!  Great experience with the service specialist!

I called Village Plumbing because I had an issue with the drainage in my master bath (sinks were stopped up).  I was able to schedule an appointment the same day. In fact, they arrived within a couple of hours after calling (which I thought was amazing).  The service specialist, Shawn H., was extremely nice, professional and knowledgeable about my plumbing issue. Not only did he thoroughly explain the root cause of the problem, but he also fixed it within minutes.  He then informed me of how to prevent it from happening again...thus, saving me time, headaches and money in the future.

For what it's worth, he also received a stamp of approval from my dog Chloe (who normally doesn't care too much for strangers)! :)

Thanks Shawn!

I had a toilet in a rental unit leaking from the base and it also would not flush so the problem was urgent.  I called their main line and the lady picked up the first time and get me scheduled later that evening.  The technician also gave a call and showed up on time, which was I've found to be very rare.

The bill was quite expensive for this type of job in my opinion (and I'm very fair on prices..) as it came out to be $586.  However, they scheduled same day services without hassle, arrived on time, and accepted payment easily over the phone.  So in a sense I guess I am paying for some convenience.  The job was done though quickly.

I was out of town and had an emergency in a rental, with the hot water heater in the attic leaking like a sieve through the ceiling.  Now, that's an emergency! I won't get into all the mundane details, but after some misunderstandings, we dealt with Nick, who is, I believe, the service manager.  He is professional, works to coming to a mutual agreement/understanding of the problem, and then gets to the solution(s).  Now, I cannot say they're cheap, but their people are screened (no perverts), they have a professional staff, are on call 24/7, and that's exactly what I needed in this emergency.

You have to wonder if they are really interested in good customer sevice.
Most people call plumbers etc because they have an emergency.  Village Plumbing takes advantage of this by charging totally unreasonable prices and offer no alternative to try and save you money.  This is NOT loving your customers.

We had a air conditioner product that they installed 5 years ago break at the 5 year warranty point.   Its 90 degrees in the house!  This cost under 4k$ before;  replacment is $8k now!   A second company recharged the freon to getting it going again, while we think about a replacement for the coil and condensor from Trane for $5k, and with a 10 year warranty. Big difference there.  This other company has 5 stars on yelp.  Village plumbing has lost our business, and any referrals we would make.

Btw, the village plumbing tech looked the system over and said the installation was bad and that it all had to be redone........without knowing it was done 5 years ago by village plumbing!!!  It would be funny if it wasnt so sad.

Really there are companies on yelp that have 5 stars; i'd suggest using one of them and not Village Plumbing.

I researched local plumbers with the BBB and reviews here and on other sites. I settled on Village Plumbing to fix a leak under my kitchen sink. It turned out my garbage disposal was corroded and had to be replaced. The plumber quoted me a price of $470 to install the same model. I looked up the cost of the disposal online and found it for $80 with 2 day delivery. I did a little negotiating and got the price for the installation down to $398. I did more research after I agreed to the installation and found that the average price for installation of this particular disposal, based on average labor costs for plumbers in Houston should have been about $220.

I guess I learned my lesson on doing more research beforehand. They shouldn't overcharge customers so outrageously and expect return business.

I would never use this company again and would not recommend it to anyone. Stay away!

I called Village plumbing based on their reputation, but I would not recommend using this company unless you only need a quick small repair (will be expensive).

I thought about giving 2 stars for prompt service, as I was able to get someone out the morning after I called to stop a leak from our water heater, but the rest of my interaction was so horrible I can't in good faith give them 2 stars. They were unable to find a gas water heater replacement for our short attic, which was also too short for a gas on demand heater, and said changing to electric would be easy and the electrician would be the cheap part as can tie into the A/C unit in the attic and would be $300-400. The technician's initial quote was ridiculous and he immediately took off 30%, leaving it just in the overpriced range. I was ok paying it since the work could be done the following morning.

When the electrician showed up after the heater was plumbed in and told us everyone knows that you cannot tie a heater into a HVAC system I realized how bad the technician's evaluation had been. I wish I had known this, but I would have thought that calling a plumber/company like village plumbing to install a water heater that he would know this. His electrician quoted me $2000 for this work (excluding a contractor to tear our sheetrock and patch to run a new wire to the attic). I told them at this time I would be calling my own people to evaluate this. It eventually cost me less than half that quote for my electrician, but a total of $2500 for all the work to run electricity to the electric water heater.

To make this experience worse the plumbers were disrespectful of my home, including spilling rusty water on our carpet which stained it, leaving our tub dirty where they drained the heater, and leaving a trail of debris down our wood stairs that they did not sweep up. The plumber ended our interaction by telling me never to call him back out to our home again. I told him I couldn't imagine why I would want to.

I called 1 week ago to inform Village Plumbing of my discontent with their service and this interaction, but I have still not heard back from them.

I had heard an ad over 2 weeks ago on am radio- I tuned in late- called set up appointment
with Kerrie a rep and I wanted to verify what all was covered in this promotion on the radio.
I was concerned about 2 things- the blower moter in my attic and the Condensor or compressor coils that were in the attic. I asked specifically if they were going to clean these 2 things in the attic. She said yes. I asked her this twice. again response was yes included in the promo. They couldnt make the first appointment even after 4 time confirming it that very day they were to be out. I rescheduled till today and the tech came out and did not do these things I was told By Kerrie they were going to do. They refunded my money- Big deal- I wish they would have done what this person said they were going to do. In my cell phone  after the missed appointment 2 weeks ago- I added the number to my phone and it is labeled w her name and the word liar. Then I get a call from another manager that said the owner Monica Ryan can not handle this problem- I guess that last manager does not think too highly of the owners skills. I  believe they probably will not forward my request to speak to Monica Ryan.
The manager told me later in the call he said saw emails go by and he mentioned he saw the message that I wanted to talk to Monica- I believe thats why he called. BAD First impression and my word of mouth advertising from me will be to avoid this company at all costs. I believe I was lied to so I would probably make Kerrie's quota  to get people signed up for the promo they were running.

I cannot say 'thank you' enough for responding to an emergency. David G. was super nice & fast. The dispatch lady (sorry I forgot your name) was extremely helpful and understood I needed someone FAST. David answered all of our questions (5 people) and explained the process well. There is a service fee for coming out. I didn't mind cus I needed someone now! Since the problem was small, David fixed it in no time. The quoted price for service was extremely reasonable and the service fee was waved. Hallelujah! The icing on top of the cake, this place is woman owned & operated.

I don't do social media, but this needs to be said---Village Plumbing is the most over priced and unprofessional company I have ever encountered. I inherited them since I was out of town when a leak arose and my yard man called them. They dug a trench 18 inches deep and five feet long, replaced a five foot section of PVC with a copper pipe and replaced a cut off valve---$200 worth of material and less than four hours of one mans time. They billed me over $3,000, when I questioned the bill they reduced it to $2,350, still four times any reasonable plumbers rates. Do your self a favor and avoid them at all costs--also warn your friends and family. They are  predators!!

Buyer beware!  We thought we could trust this company when we asked them to check an issue with one of our toilets while they were here doing other work for us.  Because they quoted a high price to fix that toilet, they suggested that we would be better off replacing it instead.  Instead of saying that we could go to their design center (which we never knew they even had), where they supposedly had many different toilets on display, they said that they only carried one kind of toilet that was similar to what we had, but much, much better.  They claimed we would love it, and if we signed an agreement right away they would come out the next day and replace it.  They convinced us to replace two toilets claiming we would be happy with them.  We never heard of this brand, but went with their recommendation sight unseen.  The toilets are okay, but they charged a super high price and only gave us a cheap, flimsy toilet seat, and now we have to go out and spend more money on decent toilet seats.  Because we feel we were scammed in this deal, we will not use Village Plumbing in the future.  We are sorry we used them!!!

Well, I'll say this to start: After reading a ton of discussion boards about how to fix some common problems like a garbage disposal and an A/C capacitor, I probably could've done the jobs myself for a 1/4 of the cost. BUT! It would've taken me probably 3 times longer, and I probably would've messed it up - besides, diagnosing the problem is half the battle, and I certainly am not trained to do that.

So, when you're stuck with no A/C on a Friday night when it's a gazillion degrees inside your house, and your kitchen sink is leaking all over your floor, well, I'd be willing to pay a little extra for quick, professional, and courteous service... And, Village Plumbing provided all of this!

From the first person I spoke with on their after-hours emergency hotline, to the dispatch who called me promptly at 7:45 this Saturday morning, to the two service techs (one for A/C, one for plumbing) they sent out within a couple of hours after that, I was met nothing less that friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and courteous service. Sure, they might be a tad bit pricey, but I doubt they charge any more than any other show in town. And, I doubt you'll get such great service and thorough attention to the jobs than you will with these folks. For example, sure, it took the one fellow about 5 minutes to diagnose and replace my A/C capacitor. But, he then spent another 45 minutes making sure the A/C was working right and all the valves and other doo-dads were operating as they should before he presented me with a bill. That's service! And, another great part about it, they gave me options and didn't try to force any upsells on my. I sincerely appreciate that kind of way of doing business.

I highly recommend these guys.

I recently engaged Village to complete a complex and expensive drain line repair. I won't get into the gruesume specifics of my situation, but as a former executive in a high touch customer service business, it's about how you handle service recovery'.  I can attest that Village Plumbing stands 100% behind their service guarantee.  They were sincerely concerned about my perception of their service, and accommodating to assure my ultimate satisfaction. They were also willing to listen to my suggestions on how I felt their service could have been better delivered. Drain line repairs are never fun, but I will use them again for other plumbing issues knowing that they value their customers and willing to stand behind their service guarantee.

I called on a wed afternoon and was able to get a Friday appointment. They said the plumber would be here between 8-1. He showed up at 1235. I received a call 30 minutes prior to his arrival. The problem was that it's getting colder and the water in my shower only gets to like warm at best. There was no hot water. So Jason was sent here to fix the problem. The took a look at the hot/ cold shower knob and took that apart. After about 10 minutes, the problem was fixed. He said that he just made an adjustment in the valve and we now have hot water again. Thank u for sending someone professional. He got straight to work upon arrival and fixed the problem right away. To be honest I did not see what the other companies charges but this company was rated in the BBB three years ago and from the reviews in yelp, I just went with them. I knew it would cost more than $59.99. The lady in the phone told me that $59.99 was a service charge for someone to come here and it will be waived if any repairs were done. I ended up paying $89.95. I would highly recommend this company for plumbing needs and will definitely call them for any plumbing issues again.

Great first time experience with this company! The dispatchers worked with me to get a plumber out at a time that was convenient for my schedule, and were good about calling me ahead of time to confirm when the plumber was on his way. The plumber (David I.) arrived on time and was very nice and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem for our leaky toilet and patiently explained the issues to me and then again to my husband who was on the phone. I can't comment on the competitiveness of their prices because I have nothing to compare them to, however, the time and effort he saved my husband from having to perform the repairs made it worth it to us. I will definitely be using this company again in the future!

I am the director of a public attraction in the museum district. We were suddenly without water on Friday morning and had major events planned for the next day and Sunday. Village was able to send David I. out right away. He went out of his way to help us solve a problem that ended up not even being a problem with our building's plumbing. It was after hours on Friday and he understood our plight. If the problem were with our property, then we were going to have to solve it over the weekend, but we would not know that until the city was able to check the meter, which took much longer than expected. David waited on site and even worked with the crew to help determine the problem. When it ended up being a city problem, he only billed us for the call, even though he was here for a long time. We are a small non-profit arts space and we appreciate his compassion and excellent service.

What a rip off!  I contacted Village Plumbing to convert my propane gas grill to natural gas grill using a kit I bought off the shelf (i.e. fool proof!).  Before I booked the appointment they said it would be a low cost and simple job.  When the technician arrived he said he had never done that kind of job before and that he estimated it would be an all day job.  He called his supervisor who said they would charge me the flat rate for gas work which was nearly $600!  The grill didn't even cost $600!  I refused the service but still had to pay the $59 dispatch fee.  I ended up calling another plumbing company and they installed the conversion kit in less than 30 minutes and only charged me $150.  Village Plumbing is a rip off and didn't have the experience for a simple job.

Absolute great and timely service.  Geoff was courteous, extremely knowledgeable and thorough.  We needed some parts for our AC and he arranged for them to be installed in our needed time frame.  I love Village Plumbing and Home Services and will use them exclusively from here on out.

We had a terrible experience with this company. They came at short notice, which was nice. But the guy that came was really strange. He didn't say much, we asked him to check on plumbing connections to the washer because we had a major leak. He went up the attic and spent about A minute there and then went to his car. We asked for a quote for a potential repair and we had agreed to pay for the diagnostic fee. He tried to get us to sign an agreement for $460 to run a camera through the plumbing system without telling us anything about it . Didn't say that was what was on their pink slip/ agreement till we looked at it. When we looked at it we said we wanted to think about it and he wouldn't let it go. He pushed us really hard to get it done and was highly unprofessional. When we said we didn't want to do it coz he couldn't tell us it was the actual problem he got more aggressive , we had to politely walk hm to the door to leave and he just kept pushing. We eventually had to open to door and ask him to leave.

I have been a regular customer for several years.  But enough is enough with the overcharging.  In recent times their charges have gone from high to abusive. Using their services comes with a healthy dose of FINANCIAL FATIGUE.  I had no idea I would be presented with a $2000 bill for recharging Freon in my home A/c.  Ridiculous.

Frustrating....absurdly over priced, but they provide an estimate, so use at your own risk.  Quality of work was mediocre and not very dependable on my job.  Shop around, there are plenty of quality plumbers that can do the job for  far less.

I needed the grill hooked up to the natural gas line. This is review is for their customer service rep who was amazing. I was unable to get other 4 plumbers to show up. However, I had to cancel in the last moment (and they did not even charge me the service fee) because my plumber decided to show up. And yes, with the shortage of work in the area I do not find unreasonable to pay the service fee, I hope their other fees are aligned with the market.

I called this morning after my trash compactor clogged. They were so nice, pleasant, and professional! They even honored my request of coming after I got off work. The technician that came out was Nick. He's by far the most pleasant and observant service person that I've ever encountered. He even pet my cat. More importantly, he cleared the clog and took special care to explain how it became clogged, how to keep the problem from happening again, how the system works, etc. He took extra special care to keep the floors and counter top clean as well. He was also right on time! I couldn't ask for a better experience!

Overall, I had a good experience with Village Plumbing.  I called on Monday and was able to have someone come out the next day (though I think if I had needed same day, they would've been able to do that as well).

Set up a morning appointment with them (though, so you know, morning is anywhere between 8am and 1pm).  My only complaint is that they called me to tell me it'd be about 30 mins before my plumbers showed up, and then, an hour later, they knocked on my door.  Kind of annoying because I had put things off thinking that they should be here any minute, and I didn't want to start something that'd take a while.  Turns out, I had plenty of time to get done what I needed to had I known it wouldn't be any minute.

Other than that, they came in and worked fast and solved my problem.  They even gave me a few tips about how to prevent it in the future.  Also, I appreciated that they didn't try to oversell me on their 1 year protection program thing.  That's always annoying.  They were kind and friendly and didn't track a bunch of mud and dirt into my home or around my bathroom.  I'd recommend them and use them again in the future.

I had a great quick experience with Village Plumbing.  I was having problems with my freezer: leaking onto the floor, ice maker clogged, etc.  I was able to schedule a visit with Village Plumbing right away- no diagnostic fee which is great!  (I had called another appliance company the wouldn't be able to make it to my house for over 2 weeks and charged $175 to diagnose).  Paul came to our house, diagnosed the problem, confirmed that the part was in stock and came to our house a few days later to repair the problem.  Quoted the cost of the repair beforehand and did not go over one bit.  Very knowledgeable, will use again!

If you can request specific plumbers, ask for Chris and Jesus. They came by, took a look at all my issues, told me how to fix the ones that we could fix to save some money, and fixed a couple issues quickly and at no additional cost. As a new homeowner, I really appreciate the friendly and good service they provided since this is all a bit overwhelming. I'd definitely suggest calling Village for whatever plumbing needs you have!

We had an emergency the other day and Village Plumbing was over shortly after we called. They looked clean, polite, smart, and made a point to explain things clearly what was wrong with our pipes. Actually, they noticed that our water heater was still under warranty, then gave me all the info I needed to call and see what I could get for free. It ended up being a better deal to have Village Plumbing install a new Bradford White (the only appliance company of this kind that manufactures a lot of its parts in the USA) heater to replace the junky one the former homeowners installed. Unfortunately a tankless water heater was not a good fit for our old copper pipe. I highly recommend to anyone who needs a good plumber.

They told me my AC needed to be replaced, even though it was still working fine.  Told me I had a freon leak (using their electronic freon detector), told me it would be $6500 for a new goodman unit that most other AC companies will install for $3500.  Had another company come over to install that same until at half the price, and when they got here, were honest and told me that my existing unit actually works fine and didn't need replacing, there wasn't even a freon leak at all.  Avoid.  They work on commission and will try to sell you over priced products you don't need.

I called Village on Thanksgiving day for a main line blockage while I had a house full of guests.
They quoted a $250 emergency holiday call out fee plus work done.
Their plumber called 30 minutes later and said he could be here in about 2 hours and would then call on his way.
31/2 hrs later he called and said he could come, work would be $344 plus $250 fallout and no promise or guarantee of success clearing the line. So $600 for possibly nothing and too late anyway.
Called another company, now on the way for free written estimate with guarantee plus video.
All past experiences with village have been at truly unbelievable prices, thought it might be worth it today.
Wrong.

These guys are complete and utter cowboys. Got slapped today with a bill today for over a thousand dollars just to install a dishwasher. Needed valves replaced it seems but was never given the cost amount. Our fault was we gave the job the ok w/o the cost given to us. Lesson learned. Guy on the job figured he didn't need to relay that info and got the easy sell. Well done. Now we know how you earn the $180 k a year you bragged on about to my relative during the install, not to mention other remarks I'll be discussing tomorrow morning. Disgusted to be honest.

On 9/20/13 Village Plumbing sent a technician to my house upon my request, to check a garbage disposal that was not working. The technician told me he could check out the disposal for $184.85. He didn't do anything such as pushing the restart button, he just turned on the switch and said it is not working, and he could check it out for the $184.85. I was dumbfounded why, for the service fee, he couldn't do basic checks.

Then he told me that he would charge $642.12 to install an Evolution 3/4 hp unit. I checked Home Depot and found the unit for $200. So he was going to charge me $442 to do the installation. Outrageous. Let's do some basic math. $184 + 642 = $826.

I don't know who will pay this, but not me. Village Plumbing, you should be embarrassed and ashamed. I still had to pay $59.95 just for this guy to give me this horrible cost proposal.

He may have been able to do the work really well, but so can lots of other people who  don't charge nearly that much. I called another plumber who asked me to purchase the disposal and recommended what to buy. I bought the same disposal that Village Plumbing was going to use, and the plumber installed it for $125. So $325 vs $826.

If I had the opportunity to give no stars, I would have. Shameful.

We had them come out to our house to repair a leak behind our house (we had a lot of standing water). The plumber just looked at the leak and told my husband it was AC related (didn't do any digging). So, after paying their service fee, we had an AC guy come out who told us it wasn't AC related and that if the plumber said it wasn't a plumbing problem it must be a sprinkler problem. So we paid the AC guy and had a sprinkler guy come out. After five minutes, the sprinkler guy came back and told me it was a plumbing problem after all. There was a cracked pipe going into our house about four inches underground.

If the original plumber would have spent the time and energy doing a little digging, he would have found the cracked pipe and saved me time and money by not having to deal with the other technicians. I will not be using this company again.

I am very disappointed with this rip off company!  I was told up front that I would be charged $175.00 just for someone to come out but was over charged for what service was provided. In the end I ended up paying $596.00 and he only replaced 1 water supply line on the hot water heater and 1 4 vent assembly. I mentioned that my washer was hooked up wrong and only hot water was coming into washer but he said he did not know how to fix that! I had someone else look at what he had performed after it had been fixed and was told that type of job should of only cost around $248.00 max including service fee. Never again with this company! I do not recommend them...

I hired Village to replace my Trane AC system in June 2010.  Last week, an energy specialist was in my attic and pointed out several problems with my  new unit:
1) the duct were falling off the air handler/coil system.  The duct connectors were broken and the service technician simply duct taped the ducts to the unit.
2) the air handler was coming apart because, again, only duct tape was used to seam the parts together.
3) the vent pipe was not sealed at all where it went from the attic to the outside.  There was about an inch of day light that could be seen around the pipe.

Consequently, I was air conditioning and heating my attic. The energy specialist informed me that new duct connectors should have been installed, then taped and special bonding spread over the tape.

Though Village Plumbing apologized for this pitiable job, the supervisor who came to my house said that there was nothing wrong with the vent pipe, that in fact, the previous work was a great job.  He said that there was a cap on the top of the vent that would prevent rain from coming into my attic.  He had no concern for the fact that rats & roaches could enter my house or that rain might come down at an angle or even run down the singles & enter my attic.  Though he agreed to caulk the opening, he did not put the proper sheet of metal under the shingles that is required to protect my home from rain.  The energy specialist said that Village Plumbing did not seal the vent properly.

I had a back flow preventer to my sprinkler system blow off as a result of freezing temperatures. They indicated that the unit would need to be changed at the cost of over a thousand dollars including a city permit and required back flow test.

Once I was able to turn my sprinkler back on I found that the zones did not work as they previously should have with several running at once. I had to have a sprinkler technician come out who indicated that a full replacement was not necessary and that the part could have been replaced for $150. Additionally, the technician indicated that the wires to the sprinkler system had been incorrectly reconnected.

This company which I had used before, so I should have been considered a good customer, does not seem interested in giving good advice and maintaining long customer relationships. I will never use them again as I think they only had their interest in mind.

I called because both of my toilets were stopped up and I was not able to clear them with just the plunger.  They have been running slow since the holidays and I had been able to keep them working with the plunger, but it did not clear up the problem.  The tech came to my home, looked at the problem, checked the outside to make sure water was flowing in the line, used my plunger to 'fix' the problem and 'clear' the line and then tried to sell me on new toilets, re-doing the line and re-seating the toilets to the floor.  His recommendations ranged in price from $1,100 to $2,200 dollars.  The service to 'clear' the toilet lines was $177 but with my $30 coupon it was $147.  On Saturday, the toilet was again not working properly so the issue was definitely not resolved or the lines cleared.  I had to call someone else to take care of the issue so I will not be using or recommending Village Plumbing to anyone.

I had a water leak under a bathroom sink requiring replacement of several parts including the shut-off valves. I was ridiculously quoted a total of $750.35. These people are idiots! They do not call before they show up.
We requested repair on our furnace and dryer.
The repair man for the furnace told us the wrong thing was wrong with our furnace and if we had just gone with his repair instead of getting a second opinion we would have wasted $800!
The dryer repair man comes the first day and says he has to have a second repair man with him to perform the service because it is a stacked unit..
The next appointment he comes out with a second repair man and they fix my dryer.  The next load of laundry I do I have the same problem (the dryer tearing my clothes).
Third appointment I made I said to make sure you send out 2 service men to repair my dryer it is still broken. They send out 1 repair man again. So, they then have to try to get another repair man out here. Meanwhile it is 3 pm and I have been waiting since 8am! My dryer remains broken.
These people will waste your time and take your money. Do not use their service.
Don't be fooled by how nice they sound on the phone.

I called them in for replacing a kitchen faucet. They gave me an estimate for almost $400 for labor cost alone. I asked them why the charge was so high, they said it could take them between 3 and 6 hours to do the job. These guys are really money suckers. Avoid them as much as you can. BTW, they charge you $59 for a diagnostic fee if you do not let them rip off you.

I had called set up an appointment during my work week and they never showed up, it turns out the appointment was never scheduled. I rescheduled for the weekend and I waited 5  hours only to have them not show up again. It was very gracious of them to wave their fee for the first time, maybe it was knowing they were not likely to show up the second time. Needless to say my dryer is still not drying and my freezer is still not freezing. Reliability isn't a value they offer.

my wife called before I got to look at the problems. $200 to fix the sink and pipes? I tightened the main and it no longer leaks. $250 to hook up a new gas stove plus a new line with a different size connect. I did it for $45 and DID NOT need a different size connect. $350 to hook up a separate oven... I did it for $0, just connected it and all these things have worked fine. The salesman they sent told us that there might be a leak near the house and main h2o line and that he might have to report us? I saw no leak and that was several $1000 guestimate. I will never call this company again.

you know how dedicated a company is when in crisis. Village plumbing is definitely owned by City of Bellaire; we were in the middle of closing while selling our home. Apparently a new ordinace was passed related to the clearance between the roof and top of the hot water heater (our house wasnt a tear down) Village Plumbing quotes thousands, got the job down for a couple of hundred by a company that care if they continued to get our business, which they did

I am soo frustrated with this company.  I called with a plumbing emergency on New Years Day and they were able to come out but after spending $750 they left with our problem unresolved.  They promised to come back first thing in the morning when it was no longer a holiday but did not show up after telling us they were coming.  The following day the same thing happened; they call, they say they are coming out, and then they don't show up.  This whole experience has been mind boggling.  Customer service is extremely poor and I am looking to find another plumber to use as I write this.

My new townhome (1 prior owner & only 3 years since construction) had a bunch of plumbing issues to be resolved.  I signed a service agreement with Village after I had a backyard irrigation leak on a Sunday (see my 11/25/12 review), so in early Jan I had the plumber out to review my to-do list.  I spent a chunk of change with Village, but their pricing seems to be in line with the other providers in town (Houston is much more expensive than Columbus OH!).  However, I do believe every $ spent was worth it as they have (a) replaced my damaged water heater and garbage disposal, (b) fixed a shower that only spit out boiling hot water, (c) snaked and drained a few slow sinks, (d) installed shut off valves on an outside kitchen sink, etc. etc.  Having a service agreement certainly trimmed the overall price tag a bit.  But I have to write that I do feel the people at Village are very customer-oriented and helpful to me.  Ask for David Ibarra, Chris G., or Will for excellent service.

After reading good review, i decided to give them a call for my AC is broke last wkend. The dispatch was polite and told me she can get someone at my house very soon. They did, 2 men shown up at my house stay around 2-3hours. It was raining last week and they did not take off their shoes and wet mud all around house and carpet. They were very noisy and survey around the house and asking alot of questions other then about the AC. I.e. how many people live in this house, where is your husband? Then, they told me in order to replace my AC unit and all the wire, it will cause 10K. I was not very happy with their attitude and not very comfortable honestly and feels that they were not very honest with us. I decided to have another company for a quote and gave me excellent and professional service. I am not sure about village Plumbing!

If I could give zero stars I would! I am a single mother with no family or friends to help, so I have to turn to professionals. I had hair stoppage in my shower, and two of my sinks. I was quoted immediately that the shower would be $259.00 to snake the line and that the two sinks would be $225.00 EACH! I gasped, so one of the two techs that came out, said lets see if we can unplug the sinks without using the snake. While one tech worked on snaking the shower line the other fixed the sink with a simple wire coat hanger and got the clog. The other tech took it upon himself to go ahead and snake the sink line (even though the second tech said he got it and didn't need a snake). I NEVER gave the ok to snake the sinks. I just assumed he was doing it to be nice and not charge me. While at the second sink, they again took it upon themselves to snake the line after unclogged the sink with a wire hanger (a hanger I provided them). Again, I gave no permission to snake the line. In the end he hands me the bill for $469.00 ( and that's with a $30 coupon I had) and then the first tech says, I only charged you for one sink and shower. I'll let you decide if you want to tip us and it's on your conscience if you don't. I was applaud to say the least. I just forked over $469.00 for 30 mins of work (half of which I didn't authorize) and he had the nerve to ask for a tip!!!! Hell, I wish I made $469 in 30 mins! I will NEVER use Village Plumbing again. First and LAST time! Don't waste your hard earned money calling them....it's legal robbery!

A service call was placed at 8:30a.m. No one arrived until 1:15p.m. despite having an a.m. service window (9a-1p). The service required was on a  Sub Zero ice maker. Ice was being produced but water was leaking into the receptacle causing an ice block.
Firstly, the technician opened the fridge and commenced work allowing ice and water to drop on the wood floor while he disassembled the unit. I was happy to provide towels but you would think that they would be requested prior to commencing. What followed was an odyssey. He proclaimed that the unit leaked because the teflon coating was peeling and would have to be replaced. When asked to explain, he then proclaimed that there was corrosion. When asked to please demonstrate the area of corrosion, he was then silent and unable to demonstrate. This gentleman obviously new nothing about Sub zeros, he couldn't even replace the receptacle back into the Fridge--I did it for him. At this point I called the office and the service person apologized and said she was unclear as to why the 'experienced' Sub Zero technician had not been sent out but she would get him out as quickly as possible. 2 hours later I call to check on this next technician and was informed that unfortunately she had misunderstood and thought I didn't want anyone out to service my problem. I then spoke to the Manager who informed me that he was sorry that I didn't believe his technician but that he stood behind his assessment. The truly unfortunate circumstance is that these people obviously do not screen their technicians and can't be bothered with customer service. The only reason they survive is that they are located in an affluent area with a public who is either unsuspecting or too busy to take note.

p.s. I had Nick the plumber from these guys and he Was Awesome. Kudos to him.

Ernesto was AWESOME!  The water in the tub/shower would not come on, the handle turned but nothing came out.  Ernesto figured out the problem in record time, went to the shop, got the part, came back and completed the job to perfection!  I never thought I would get so excited to see running water!  So a few things I noticed: 1) Ernesto had absolutely no problem with me watching over his shoulder as he worked - he even explained everything as he went along 2) he was so neat, booties on at all times  3) cleaned the rust from the tub that was driving me crazy with 'tuff stuff' product (which I will be going by their place to pick up...amazing) and 4) Professional and POLITE!  As for the front office:  Also amazing, Quick response time, updates, called to give me a 30 minute heads-up that the tech was on this way and the billing office was knowledgeable and friendly.  Will definitely use them again.

I had Village Plumbing over to my house in West University Place in May, 2010. I had two clogged drains and a toilet that I thought needed a bolt tightened. Robert came over and examined the clogged drain. He said this was an easy fix and would not need to charge me. He had the drains fixed within 5 minutes. He then looked at the toilet and identified about $550 worth of minor repairs for a toilet that barely gets used in pretty new construction. While I am not a plumber, I was pretty skeptical of what I thought was a very inflated estimate and will have the toilet inspected by another plumber. But the part that really was sketchy is after I declined to have him fix the toilet and rebuild it, my charge for the clogged drains was no longer, no charge. It was $89.95. I always expected to pay the 59.95 service charge for coming to the house. But to add an additional $30 because I declined to do additional work that seemed unnecessary is extremely unethical. Robert had clearly stated that he would not charge me for fixing the drains. But I guess because he could not sucker me for the toilet rebuild, he changed his mind.

My Bosch dishwasher broke for the third time the day before Thanksgiving and decided to buy a new Kitchenaid dishwasher.  Bought it at Best Buy 2 days ago.  It came with a free installation, but it would have taken more than 10 days for Best Buy people to install, but they were able to deliver in 2 days.  So I called Village Plumbing.  Cost me $225 to have him remove the broken dishwasher and install a new one.  He came out on Black Friday and I was able to load all the Thanksgiving dishes from last night and now it's been washed as I write this review.  This is the third time I use Village Plumbing and I've been giving 5 stars every time they come out.  Yes, plumbing is not cheap, but I'm happy to pay to have a very polite qualified plumber come out and install my beautiful Kitchenaid dishwasher the day after Thanksgiving.  He even put  shoecovers on top of his shoes before he came into the house!  Very considerate.  The price included hauling away the broken dishwasher.  Thanks Oscar for a great job.

We used Village Plumbing and Home Services for an AC repair today, mainly because of the favorable overall Yelp rating.  I don't know how they have a favorable rating for anything.  Please read and understand what I am saying... DO NOT USE VILLAGE PLUMBING for AC services, they are nothing but crooks!  Not only did they show up late, after the appointment window, they then egregiously gouged me for a minor service.   The repair needed a $15 part and required 5 minutes of labor, yet they charged $299!!!!!  They claimed it was a fixed fee package deal!  Why did they not disclose that when I made the appointment?  Since there were no cost estimates available before the service technician arrived, and the service call itself was $59 just to come out and do nothing, and they arrived at the end of the day after it was too late to get someone else, there was no recourse.  This is criminal, predatory practice.  DO NOT USE THESE GUYS FOR ANYTHING!  EVER!!!

I called needing some work done based on the superior reviews and word of mouth.  I knew what the problem was and when I initially asked for an estimated price over the phone, I was told they could not give me a price.  I was told if I needed work the consultation fee of $59.99 would be deferred.  That should have been the first red flag.  I went ahead and scheduled an appointment and was told I would receive a courtesy call 30 minutes before arrival.  I received a courtesy call at 2:00pm, the tech did not show up until 5:45pm.  I had to call dispatch twice and the excuses were the driver was held up talking to a manager and he is caught in traffic.  So much for courtesy.  When I told the tech what the problem was, the company has the tech bring out a shiny binder with predetermined prices which are not negotiable.  The prices are flat rate even if the problem does not fit the description of the flat fees.  The deferment of $59.99 was still added into my total cost.  The company has the techs become very preachy about how excellent and fair this company is.  I can't fault the tech, he is only doing his job under the direction of his superiors.  He was very polite and did not have control as far as the pricing is.  The repairs did require a call to management, then the consultation fee was dropped.  For a very simple repair this price was high.  Had they been more up front with the cost from the beginning and showed up in a timely manner I would consider using this company again.  Since it was a poor first impression, I will not use this company again.

Eight days ago, scalding hot water shot up through the downstairs toilet, the same downstairs toilet village plumbing has already visited three times this year. The only difference this time is they send a duo with a metal detector who determined that they need to dig up a flower bed to access a broken line, yet the crew they contracted for the dig (not plumbers themselves) inform us that there isn't any  break there and that the digging needed to be done several feet from the site. Sure enough, after three days of no activity, no returned phone calls...etc village plumbing informs us that they do in fact have to dig elsewhere and that they're currently awaiting permits from the city. Meanwhile its been eight days and several thousand dollars since I've had a washing machine, dishwasher, shower or any working toilet, so thanks village plumbing, for your timeliness, efficiency and professionalism.
