A friend of mine recommended this company. I called and made an appointment to replace a kitchen faucet. I used to do this myself, but getting under the sink is a job for younger people.

I got a call a little before the appointed time to see if I was available and I was. Larry and Thomas showed up and were just great!

One of the shut-offs under my sink wasn't working properly and they replaced it quickly and easily. They made short work of my new faucet as well, and it's a nice improvement.

These gentlemen were friendly, knowledgeable and very efficient. Price was reasonable and fair. I'll definitely use this excellent company again.

Had a pipe burst on a Tuesday during the great winter storm of 2021. All plumbers in the area were overwhelmed and Steve's Plumbing was the first to call me back and set up a time for repair when it was safe to be on the roads. Will arrived within 10 minutes and calling and quickly diagnosed the problem. Had the pipe repaired within the hour and cleaned up afterwards.

I had a funny smell under my master bathroom sink and Keith came out - a very polite & nice person - and helped me figure out the problem.    I would totally recommend asking for Keith next time you have a plumbing problem.

Steve respond back to my call quickly and came out to my house to fix a water leak in our basement ceiling, coming from one of the bathrooms within the walls upstairs. This was not something that would have been easy to find for most people. However, he found it quickly and repaired it in just a few minutes. He told me he has close to thirty years of experience and it shows. He knew exactly what he was looking for and how to fix it. All of the other plumbers I tried to call told me it would take around two weeks to come out to our house, even after I told the other plumbers this was to fix a leak that required us to turn off the house water so it would not flood our home. Steve came out the next day and fixed it in just a few minutes. I highly recommend Steve for your plumbing issues.

Wow, glad I didn't check reviews before I called them out because my experience was fantastic.
Mother's Day weekend, Saturday 1pm. I'm drilling through a slab and hit a water line (that shouldn't have even been there!)  I'm frantically calling ANYONE to get help, but no one has a tech available. Finally, I reach William from Steve's Plumbing and within two hours he's on site breaking up the concrete to get to the broken pipe, repairing it and by 4pm the issue is resolved.
I sign the invoice happy to pay the $420, but when I get an emailed receipt the charge is only $320. I emailed back for clarification to be told that there was an error in calculation and they were refunding the $100 to my card.  I didn't even ASK for the refund, they simply saw the error and did it.  Not too many honest companies out there like that.  Good Job, Steve's!

Agree with a lot of recent bad reviews. There is clearly a breakdown in their management. The new manager sucks and has no customer service skills.

I feel ripped off because they collected my credit card info prior to coming out and then charged without as much as a call to confirm the completion of work. Contesting the $440 charge for clearing a simple drain with the credit card company. Needless to say won't be using them again.

I'm very disappointed in the lack of customer service of this company.  I will not use them again.   I was greatly overcharged for them to come back to repair a plumbing issue that was done less than a year ago and should not have failed already.   I've asked several times to speak to the owner to try to negotiate a resolution but he will not call me back.  This is not how to take care of your customers......

I called Steve's Plumbing at 10:00 the Monday after Christmas, and they were there by 3:00 that afternoon and were here and done in 20 minutes.  Focused and determined to get the job done at an extremely reasonable price.  Come to find out, the plumber is a distant relative!  A BONUS for us.  If I need a plumber, they are the only ones I will use!  I highly recommend Steve's Plumbing.

I've used Steve's Plumbing before, and they're pretty good, but I had a bizarre thing happen. I called them in to locate a gas line inside a wall in the kitchen. Pretty clear that the gas line was coming down from the attic. Just needed a port and a valve for a stove connection. They came and gave me an estimate. Their estimate was to replace the water heater (duh?, a 12-year old unit that was doing fine), and to replumb the house gas (which is up to code). This estimate took a lot of imagination on their part. Gotta hand them that. Oh yeah, and to find that gas line. Um, whaaaat? Many, many $K. This was clearly an estimate from a firm that didn't want the job, I guess. I will avoid them in the future for any but simple tasks.

I later took a saw and exposed the gas line under the stove. It was hidden in the wall behind plasterboard. Valve already on it. It was built-in with the house, sixty years ago. Job done.

Workmanship was fine.

However they showed up with two people for a one person job and charged me for a plumber helper.  This is a common hourly trick and I find to be unprofessional without upfront disclosure.

Basically you're paying to training.

I have used Steve's for any years spending thousands of dollars with them, but no more. They first sent out one plumber that was taking a great deal of time, understandable due to the nature of the issue. However a prior plumber they sent, who no longer works there, did my entire home in 3 hours. After 3 hours he said he was tired and went home. I explained to the main office this was an immediate need so 2 days later they sent out 3 plumbers and rather than charging me the agreed rate of $155 per hour, charged nearly $400 per hour and took 6 and a half hours.  When I received the bill I contacted Steve directly thinking he would be reasonable since I was a long time client, boy was I wrong. It was a very unpleasant experience.  Needless to say we wont be using them again.  I suggest you pass on this company.

Highly recommend the team of Keith and Lane! Great guys, great customer service, extremely knowledgeable, very thorough, etc. There are not enough words. Keith is very detailed and very logical in his thought process as he tests and rules out different possibilities. He tested every possibility before resorting to cutting holes in walls. After exhausting every possibility, he called his boss (assumption) to run through all of the things he had done to see if the person on the other end had any other ideas etc. Keith cut a hole that he measured to pinpoint his guess rather than a random sized hole in a general area. Very impressed with Keith and his helper Lane. Highly recommend and will definitely use again. Thank you guys!! Keep up the great work.

Keith and Ruston just left and what two great worker bees they were. I needed them for not a big job just a seal replaced around a toilet. I have used them a couple times before like in 2009, 2011, and 2012. I would recommend them highly. They fixed it pronto and keep asking if I had anything else for them to repair or check out. Answered all my questions and were kind and knowledgeable. Great guys, the owner should be proud of these two. They are keepers.....thanks for listening.

Absolutely amazing! I have had a really hard time finding plumbers that are affordable and professional. I cannot recommend this plumbing service enough. They were by far the lowest bid for the job and they did more than I even asked and didn't charge. The plumbing service before this quoted my job at $2,000...I almost fainted. This company charged me a total of $353.
I will be using their services in the future and so thankful for them for sweeping in and saving me from such a terrible plumbing experience.

Thank you Steve's Plumbing!!!!!!!!!

I remember using Steve's Plumbing many years ago and somehow I forgot about them, rummaging around to others not ever being totally satisfied with the work I was getting. Searching through a neighborhood board and Yelp, I was reminded that Steve's Plumbing was who I had been searching for.

Last November, I had water leak behind my refrigerator and was lucky enough to have Will get the assignment (see other reviews). He was diligent and did his best. He was so conscientious, that he returned later to provide the ultimate fix by simply replacing the water valve.

More recently, I had the misfortune to have a wash towel sucked down the drain of my indoor hot tub. This time it was Keith and Rustan that saved me. They also repaired an upstairs shower that I had been previously told by another plumbing company needed a total valve replacement.

A couple of things I need to stress: These guys are honest, meticulous, and not overly rushed. They charge very fair fees, without the exorbitant markup for parts and sometimes cut the labor cost to provide a more favorable rate.

After living in the hood for over fourty years and most of my life in north central Austin, I can not over emphasize these guys enough. Great job.

Had someone come out and give a quote, only to never be followed up with our scheduled. I called 4 separate times asking if they simply did not want to do the job for us and was continually told by a woman on the phone that they would get back with me when they were off the other line. 48hours later and I've elected to go with another company. Listen to the previous reviews here and go with another company - these people do not know how to conduct a business.

Called Steve's plumbing early this morning and requested services in connection with the replacement of my kitchen sink faucet.  I requested a time window of 1 to 3 PM.  The plumber showed up at 2 PM and finished the job to my satisfaction by 2:45 PM.  Everyone that I dealt with at Steve's plumbing was courteous and professional. Cost was also very reasonable. More importantly, I found them to be very trustworthy.

Complete bait and switch.

We called Steves and a nice lady answer the phone and set up an appointment. We told her exactly what we were trying to accomplish and asked for a price.

They gave us a two hour window in which they would show up, and they came late.

Long story short, the guy (not Steve) basically tried to tell us that what we wanted would not work and that the price would be four times what they said over the phone and they suggested that we need hey additional test that wasn't mentioned or the first test would be worthless.

They tried to talk past my wife, thinking she didn't know anything about plumbing. She's been in commercial construction for 25 years.

In the end we basically said that's bait and switch. And they agreed to just walk away. Must happen to them a lot because they didn't make any protest.

Note:  all of the reviews here are either five stars (in which they talk about how amazing absolutely amazing the plumber was-- Give me a break it's a plumber) or one star. Kind of makes you wonder if the reviewers are not friends or employees of the operation.

Horrible customer service.  Do NOT hire this company.  Steve's crew does not communicate effectively with the customer, has not repaired my plumbing (after leaving the job in disarray) and takes no responsibility for finishing the job.  I will be sure to share this on our neighborhood community bulletin board to make sure that my neighbors don't suffer through Steve's terrible customer experience.

I would like to add a couple more stars for Steves Plumbing. My 50 year old cast iron pipes needed to be replaced throughout my home. I obtained several bids and chose Steves. Eric was  so helpful during whole process including language for my insurance company. (Still fighting for coverage) Project took 2 weeks. The courteous crew, sometimes as many as 10 were here all day even on the weekend to tunnel dig and tunnel the 3 access areas. They had to turn water off a few times but not for long and not without letting me know. They cleaned everything up and have checked in with me.

We are currently renting the house we live in, so when something breaks we call the management company and they contact the vendor of their choice to fix whatever the problem is. In September a sprinkler pipe broke in our front yard and a nice man at Steve's contacted us about setting up an appointment for repair. He was very nice, cordial, friendly, even joking about pretending we were disaster prepping with our water turned off.
The next day I pull up and two repairmen have arrived.  I went to great them, introduce myself, and explain what happened.  Not once did they even acknowledge me. Not even a simple Hello,we are here from Steve's plumbing. The just stared at me.  Okaaaaay. I went inside and about 1.5 hours later the older repairman knocked on our door, to say they were letting some glue dry, so they were going to run an errand and be back. I stepped out onto my porch and asked what happened to the pipe.  He mumbled something about a junction pipe being broken. His fellow worker just stood there and laughed at me.  They left and came back.  Finished up their work and knocked on the door to tell us it was fixed.  Again I asked what had happened to the pipe and they never even responded.  They just went and got in the truck.   After a few minutes of confusion about why they were treating us that way, I went Outside to get the truth.  I really wanted to know what happened and if they could advise us on how we might prevent it from happening again.  The assistant rolled down his window, looked at me with disgust, and said, what do you want? As I tried to explain what information I was hoping to learn from them, the head guy literally shooed me off with his hands.  I was about to lose my calm when the head guy asked if we rented or owned our home.  When we said we rented he told me that they don't talk to renters. They do not talk to the people who live at the home.
Did they fix the problem? So far so good. Did they treat us with even a small modicum of manners required in any social interaction. No.

They need to realize and understand that most renters are there temporarily and will be purchasing homes soon- like us.  Those renters you treat so poorly will become homeowners/future customers who will remember Steve's Plumbing and the poor way they were treated and will hire another company instead. I know we will.

I called up Steve's about a sub-foundation broken drain line issue which was causing backups in my house. They had to break a hole in my slab in the garage to fix the first break in the PVC pipes. After the pipe was repaired they did a pinpoint static test on the whole house and found 2 more leaks. I was a bit overwhelmed but Steve helped set me at ease and even guided me in dealing with insurance coverage for the excavation work, which fortunately was available since the line backups caused some water damage in the house. The work crew had to tunnel 12 more feet underneath the slab from the initial slab excavation hole to fix the 2 additional leaks.

I take pride in fixing a lot of issues on my own but this one was way outside of my comfort zone. I inspected everything that they did, including going into the tunnel myself, and it is completely top notch work. The effort they put into this job was amazing. The crew members are total professionals and they could not have done a better job.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Steve's to anyone for any plumbing repair job, period. Two thumbs way up!!!

I just finished paying $327 for what should have been a simple 30 minute job to replace the float inside a toilet, replacing the shut-off valve to the toilet and unclogging the bathroom sink drain. This should be a cautionary tale to all who decide to use this business. I should have heeded the reviews here first, but a neighbor recommended them to me.

They sent a repairman out last week to fix the float in mom's toilet and we already had the part. We were going to do it ourselves at first but I decided it would save me more time and hassle to have a pro do it. Unfortunately, Steve's was the wrong place to call. My mom said the guy showed up and was professional but not friendly. She gave him the part we had and installed it, cleared the sink drain pipe, changed out the shut-off valve to the toilet and cleared the hot water line, all in about 30 minutes. The final charge was $150 ($120 service fee plus other labor) and I was happy to have it all done. They said they were going to bill me, so I had no receipt yet.

Then, my mom notices that the toilet is still running, so I had them come back out yesterday. They said I had to pay for the service again, because I didn't have a receipt and they didn't have any records of the service call at all from last week. I figured I could just pay this time and give them a call to credit last week's bill if it showed up again. After all, they should warranty their work when it was just a few days ago, right? Wrong. The second plumber told me the reason why the toilet still wasn't running right was because I needed to install the original parts for the toilet, not a universal part. The other plumber never told us that nor did he tell us that if we didn't have them install their own supplied parts, that would void any warranty for the work. Obviously, I would have had them use their part which would have only cost me $10 more than my own to have the warranty not voided. This second bill was $177.

I explained this to the office girl on the phone today, and even though none of this was explained to us, I had to pay for last week's bill too. Even though we never received any documents saying our warranty would be voided if we used our own part and the repairman never mentioned it to my mom, I decided to just be done with the problem and pay the bill. I hope this was worth it to the plumbing company, because my poor review will also be shared with my entire neighborhood and other online sites.

I decided to at least be fair and give them two stars because the second repairman was nice, but even he didn't mention anything about work warranty.

I should have looked at Yelp before accepting our property manager's recommendation of these guys. I called on Monday to make an appointment for Thursday morning at 9 a.m. I was told We have you down for Thursday at 9. I didn't become aware that they have service windows until Tuesday when I was trying to coordinate the water shut-off between my property manager and the plumber. Turns out my appointment was for 9 to 11.

I tried to be optimistic that they might show up at 9, but by 10:45 (I had been told the plumber would call 20 minutes before arriving) I hadn't heard from anyone at their company. I called them to ask where my technician was and was put on hold, then had to explain to someone else why I was calling, then was told they would call me back.

At 11 I got a call from the company saying the tech was on his way at the same time that the technician was calling to inform me of the same. He finally arrived at 11:30, took apart my shower faucet, left to go get parts (which I expected), came back at noon, finished the repair, then asked me to pay on-site. I told him I would pay by credit card and he said the company would call me.

I had already emailed Steve, the owner, to ask for a discount, because I'm an hourly employee and had tried to schedule this appointment as early as possible so to minimize the amount of money I would be missing out on earning. The technician returned to my door and said that he had just spoken to the office and they wanted me to call them. I did, while the technician was waiting in another room, and repeated my request for a discount because they had severely inconvenienced me. The woman on the phone told me that Steve had already seen my email and would not authorize a discount. [I never did receive an email response from Steve--the personal touch means nothing here.]

After I had paid my bill, the technician (who did a reasonable job and was quite polite, he deserves better than to work for these cretins) told me that he hadn't received notification of my job until 11 a.m.--i.e., about 30 seconds before he called me to let me know he was coming, which means that I apparently had not been on the schedule at all.

TL;DR: Inconsiderate, late, won't agree to a discount or any concessions if the customer is dissatisfied.

After having a nightmare experience earlier this year with another plumbing service, Steve's Plumbing Repair swept in and saved the day.  Very professional, prompt, reliable, thorough, fair pricing, all quotes and invoices are in writing.  I've used them 3 times now. My 60+ year-old, pier & beam house still has some of the original pipes.  Steve's crew meticulously completed repairs and made suggestions for ongoing upgrades and maintenance.

We have had several occasions to use their services and were very happy with the work.  The one time we had an issue, they stood behind their work and came back to correct the problem with quickly and with a good attitude.  They show up on time and ready to work.  But I think the best recommendation is that both their workers and office staff are friendly, professional and responsive.  I appreciate having a reliable go-to company that can address all kinds of issues.

We used them for a water heater, running water to the fridge, water leak and a gas leak.  Would not call anyone else!

Have used these guys over the years with no complaints, until now. They installed a water heater and marked the price up 100%. I talked to Ann who I assume is office staff and was informed that this is standard procedure. That's $496 to $980.  Will not use them again.

Called yesterday and Gale showed up at my place today. I needed my new dual vanity sink installed with new parts and it barley breached $100 for everything. Well worth the service and convenience. Nonetheless, Gale was extremely nice and worked diligently to get the sink fully functional so I don't have to worry about a thing.

Steve's Plumbing really was a great outlet for me and this is my second review posting for anything. So you know it's not spam, which I usually have reservations.

Yelp is recording this as an update of a previous review but it is really a review for a new service done about two weeks ago.  Our kitchen sink was backed up.  We had an ancient garbage disposal and I suspected that was a culprit.  Well, the plumber from Steve's (I think he was Jason) and his assistant showed up early!  Long story short, they solved the clog problem, replaced the disposal, and pointed out a few very corroded attachments under the sink that were also replaced as part of what they were asked to do (ie no extra charge). Jason also gave me some garbage disposal tips- while I already knew much of what he reviewed with me, I never before realized that putting rice and pasta into a disposal was a no-no, but it makes sense if you think how both of those can clump together down a line.  We are very satisfied with the work done.

I have been using Steve's Plumbing for 8 years since I bought my cute but old house in the Rosedale/Highland Park area.  I really like the plumbers - experienced and ethical and I have seen alot of them since I am upgrading my plumbing and usually have them come about once or twice a year.

THEN, this happened.  I went out of town and forgot to pay my bill.  I got back into town and found an overdue note and a message.  I called to pay the bill and found it was turned over to a lawyer for collections.  I asked to speak with Steve - yes, I was wrong and as a small business owner myself, I hate when I get paid late from my clients - but I thought my prompt payments for the past 8 years and the fact that I have referred many of my neighbors to him would count for something - maybe a get out of jail free card?

Anyway, he wont call me back!  So, I guess I am stuck paying a $200 - yes $200 late charge on a $130 bill.  Doesnt seem fair.

I hardly know how to begin since my experience with this company was so deplorable.  I own a real estate brokerage and work with numerous contractors.  An associate of mine mentioned that he had a good experience with an older gentleman that worked for Steve's and suggested I try them.  (That gentleman unfortunately is no longer with the company). I requested a bid for repairing a leaky shower pan in my condo from a couple of plumbers and decided to include Steve's Plumbing.  Steve's Plumbing provided me a bid and then a couple of months later sent me an invoice for $550.  I called to ask what the invoice was for.  They said it was supposed to go to my neighbor below me, but asked me if I wanted to pay my share.  I was confused and told them I hadn't hired them for anything.  I ended up speaking with Steve directly to get clarification on what they thought I owed them.  He wanted me to pay him for providing me a bid, even though another plumber had provided the same bid for free.  Steve was childish and immature on the phone and was unable to show any composure.  He hung up on me!  The same $550 invoice was sent a couple more times and then a few months later a constable showed up at my door with a lawsuit for a $100 and a $100 invoice I had never seen before.  I was incredulous! Steve's Plumbing sued me for a $100 because I requested a bid from them?  Bizarre!  I had clients I needed to work with on the court date and didn't want to take a work day to fight a $100 lawsuit.  Needless to say they won by default and got a $400 judgment against me once court costs were tacked on!   These actions from the owner were petulant and childish. Steer clear of this company!

As I read other reviews below it seems Steve has a serious issue with being challenged or questioned by anyone.  Perhaps it is from stress or something, but the lack of professionalism and the explosive nature of this gentleman are terrible qualities for running a customer facing business.  Since then I have found an excellent plumber who I would highly recommend to anyone looking.

The people at Steve's Plumbing Repair have really been great.  They have responded quickly in emergencies and didn't price gouge at all.  Another time they came out for minor maintenance items that based comparison with other companies in the area that we have used, did a better job for less money. We'll always call these folks first

Avoid! Called them about a gas line inspection. They took down all of my information, and said they'd take care of it. This was mid-day on a Wednesday. Call them back Monday, and they act as if they've never heard of me. The office manager is rude, acts like it's a bother to talk to customers. Never again!

we've used other plumbing companies before and will never use anyone else again. they charge an extremely fair price for the work that they do. they will offer other solutions when something drastic is not necessary. they are also very efficient, completing four jobs between two people in one hour for $135. james and ray were friendly, polite, and personable.

the only reason this is not a five star rating is because when we made the appointment, we were told we would be called between 10am and noon. when we heard the knock on the door at 10am, we were not quite ready for their visit. although we were flustered (and the plumbers were not given a note to call), everything worked out nicely.

Over the summer, Steve's really helped us out in a pinch when water started bubbling up from under our driveway.  The tricky part is that it happened just after we left for a week's vacation, and I found out about it when a neighbor left me a phone message I picked up when the plane landed in our vacation destination city.  (Talk about panic.)  I called Steve's, and they very helpfully coordinated with my neighbor (who had a key) to get water leak fixed, have the repair checked out by the City (since it involved a City water main connection), and patched up.  It was all taken care of by the time we got home from vacation.  SO happy.  Now, a great deal of the credit for all this goes to my wonderful neighbor, but big thanks also to Steve's for going with the flow and being flexible in working with my neighbor (at my request) to get things fixed.  (I'm thinking it helped that we were established customers rather than someone they had never worked with before.)

Thanks, Steve's!

In the late afternoon, I called Steve's Plumbing because my water heater was spewing hot water all over the garage. They showed up in 10 minutes! They had the situation under control very quickly. They quoted a reasonable price on a new water heater and showed up on time at 8:30 the next morning to install. The whole experience was very easy. The men were nice and professional and took time to explain the issues and resolution. I would definitely use their services again.

I called Steve's Plumbing last week to come out and check on a possible gas leak at a rental property and they were very responsive. A plumber was out the same day to assess the situation. They also billed me which made things very easy.

Larry and his assistant came out to help us with the smell of sewer gas that was apparent in the master bathroom.  They arrived right on time, and were professional and knowledgable and took care of that problem.  We also asked them to clean out the outside drains for the master bath and they quickly took care of that.  We highly recommend Steve's Plumbing!

Would give 0 stars if I could. Our water heater went out and we had Steves plumbing come, the guy was so unprofessional and just said buy a new one. He didn't want to fix it. Couldn't ask tell me anything about purchasing a new one. Basically took apart the water heater and left. I was in tears and never felt so confused. Hubby called and got another tech to come out but would never use again or refer anyone. Can't do business like this!

As a professional Property Management Company, I used Steve's Plumbing for several years giving them thousands of dollars for worked performed.  His work was mediocre and his billing simply sucks.  Almost one year after he completed a maintenance on a home, we received a bill with three other bills.  Bookkeeping paid those bills for the homes we still managed and the other $425 was not paid as we no longer managed the property.  The management agreement states that I simply pay bills for the owner.  I am not responsible once I no longer manage a property.  Now, Steve's company paid no attention to the law and sued me.  I contacted my attorney.  It would have cost me as much in atty fees to file a Summary Judgement stating that I was the wrong party being sued so I settled for 1/2 of what was owed.  My atty tells me that Steve is going after the owner for the whole amount.  What crooks!!!!!!!

I've worked with hundreds of plumbers nationwide over the years and I just wanted to personally say thank you to Brittany, Larry and your team Andrea and Lloye!  I needed this project pulled off in a short amount of time and your team was amazing. Everyone was very professional and was happy to help me out when I was in a bind. They went above and beyond.

Also, I would like to personally give a big thank you to Brittany and Larry. She handled and coordinated (after hours) an emergency last night to ensure we met our deadline-she is just amazing!...and Larry has gone out of his way this week to make sure all of my plumbing repairs and inspections were completed before Monday.  It is far and few between that I come across such a professional and hard working team and they deserve to be recognized because of this. Please know what a great asset they are to  your company.

Thank you again and I look forward to working with your company in the future!

We had a major plumbing problem here at the office.  I called Steve's Plumbing Repair Inc. They came out and gave me a quote. The quote was a very good price. They had to dig up the old sewer line, and run a new one the path was 75 feet and it was 4 feet deep. They did an incredible job and did it very fast. I would highly recommend Steve's Plumbing Repair inc. They are inexpensive, friendly, and fast. If there were 10 stars on Yelp they would get a perfect 10.

On time. Completed specified repairs to functional level. I used Steve's based on their relationship with my association's property mgmt company. 2 negatives - For some reason, the office refused to provide an estimate for some simple work and the final appearance of the work was disappointing.

I would give Steve's Plumbing 7 stars if I could.  Reasons why:

1. Quick bid response
2. Best price - out of 5 bids for exact same work - replacing old sewer pipeline to street
3. Explained everything clearly - and answered all of my questions - and I ask a lot.
4. His crew did a fast, incredibly professional job - prompt and courteous.
5. Steve keeps you updated on the progress and the schedule.
6. You could barely tell (even in the drought) that we had our front yard dug up.
It looked perfect when they left.

I will use them again.

Steve's Plumbing came out to my house this week to fix some annoying but non-urgent problems.  They arrived on time and worked quickly.  Initial estimates for some of the work were in the $400-$500 range based on what they thought the problem was (going by my description of it only), but once they got into the plumbing they discovered that the issues were not nearly as bad as we had thought.  With a few quick tweaks, the jobs were done at a price of just over $100.

I would have had no way of knowing that the problems were less severe than initially thought, so I really appreciate the honesty from Steve's.  I will definitely call them the next time I need plumbing work.

We discovered a sinkhole was created by a broken waste line the front yard of my house. I sent out multiple bids and we chose Steve because he offered a good price, was highly engaged in conversations, and was also very highly recommended by friends who have used him before. To put it lightly, I was very impressed by the work he and his crew did and I am so happy we chose to work with Steve. I would highly recommend Steve's Plumbing Repair

Horrible--zero stars! I was recommended this plumber from my realtor and I have already alerted them of how unprofessional these folks are. They did an overhaul on my plumbing several months back (the bill was several thousand dollars). I called with a problem asking them to call me with information. I assumed it would be covered since I had paid tons of money to fix everything--instead of calling me and telling me that it would cost extra, which I find hard to believe, they did the work and then charged me several hundred dollars. This is after I specified they call me. Then they didn't return my calls to discuss the matter and turned the bill over to a collection agency. What turds!

I find it very telling that in all of your responses you continuously blame the customer instead of acknowledging that you did not perform the service requested. Your plumber did NOT replace anything in the upstairs toilet. This was verified by the second company that I had come out to do the service you said your tech could do.

After having another company come out, and having Manville come out, there was absolutely no issue with the PRV valve! It was in perfect condition. The issue with the low water pressure turned out to be the water softner which, had your techinician been a qualified plumber, he would have known that immediately. Instead your tech, and your receptionist wanted to insist it was a bad PRV. Once I had the water softner replaced, the water pressure returned to normal. However, the upstairs toilet continued to run.

Since you feel the need to badmouth your customers I will address the check issue. Yes, my daughter unknowingly wrote you a check from a closed account. It was a innocent mistake, and one I was willing to correct immediately. When your office manager called she was rude, accusatory and down right hateful. The mistake was NOT done intentionally, and I offered to fix it immediately. No, I was not going to pay the NSF because you were not charged one. It may have been wrong however when your office manager was hateful to me, and refused to acknowledge that NO work had been performed, and told me I would have to pay a new service fee just to get someone else to come back out to verify the first tech didn't do his job, I decided I was not going to pay the check. I did not feel that I got anything for my money especially when I had to have another provider come out and do the actual work!

You commented with this statement, We offered to set up an appointment to come back out and service the commode that we worked on and we needed to collect the payment for the service that was already performed in addition to the returned check charges. You refused to have our plumber come back out to service the commode because you did not want to pay for anything additional if we wouldn't cover the repair under warranty. We explained that we offer a 90 day warranty on repairs and you would not be charged for coming back out unless we had to replace additional parts outside of what was previously done, but you would only be charged for parts replaced. This is an absolute blatant lie! At no time did anyone ever offer to schedule someone else to come out. I asked your office person to get someone else to come out only to be told I would have to pay another service fee, cost of additional parts, etc! That is crap especially when the work wasn't performed the first time. Not to mention, no one said a word about any kind of warranty! EVER!

In fact, today I sent you an email to prove that your tech did not repair the toilet with water bills for the past two months. I have lived in this house for 6 years, and my bill has never exceeded $35! Because your unqualified tech did not repair or replace anything in the toilet, my bill for January was $79! My bill for February was $111! I called Manville and it is a direct result of the toilet running continuously that was not repaired by your tech. We will see what kind of customer service you offer, and if you will pay the difference between my normal bill, and the rate I was charged because your employee did not perform the work I was charged for. My bet is that you won't do anything!

It is sad, but your company will remain in business because most people do not check out plumbers. You will continue to screw people over that call you for help. As I heard about you on KOKE FM I have let them know of your terrible service. Unfortunately Bob Cole continues to advertise you on the air because he wants to believe in good Austin businesses. You are doing him a disservice when he asks people to use you, and you fail to perform.

I did appreciate the fact that when I called, Steve came over right away.  He told me he had to pull a plumbing permit which was fine. I know the permit charge was $100 and he charged me $200 which was also fine since he spent the time going to get it etc.  The issue was, he quoted me $1100  for the water heater.  Now we are up to $1300 but when it didn't pass inspection, he charged me another $300 for the additional work and parts.  I talked with the supervisor at the water district asking if the inspectors vary their requirements which is what I was told by Steves assistant but he said they work off the Uniform Plumbing code for 2009 which should be know to all plumbers. I called to talk to Steve about this and his assistant said he would call me back but I haven't received a call.  To net it out, I feel like I was overcharged by about $300.

Friends recommended Steve's Plumbing, so I called when our kitchen sink stopped up.  The plumber was fast, quiet and courteous.  He fixed the problem, explained what he had done, and even made a quick adjustment to the dishwasher tubing to prevent a different type of problem.  It was a messy job, but he left the kitchen as clean as it was when he arrived.

I have used Steve's plumbing for several smaller jobs (replacing toilets, sinks, fixing small plumbing issues) with our rent houses as well as our main residence and historically  found the technicians to be very nice and very helpful.  However, recently I have been extremely disappointed in the professionalism and quality of work that was performed.  At our rent house, I asked that the hot water heater be checked out as well as two sinks and a commode installed.  Without doing anything more than opening the door to the hot water heater I was told a new one was needed.  The commode was installed but no caulking was placed around the base and it was not leveled.  There was no caulking around the sinks except where the new faucets were put in.  And there it looked like the technician just squirted the caulk, squished the faucet in place and left it.  Not attempt to wipe up the excess caulk was made.  And for some reason it took three trips to install the sinks.  I should have paid closer attention to what was done to fix the hot water heater.  a pipe was placed through the cabinet and was left draining out straight into the garage.  When technician was called back out due to the toilet not flushing properly I was told it wasn't technician fault I bought a cheap toilet.  Now, not sure why after that experience I decided to give them another try, but couple weeks later needing some work done during a remodel I again called Steve's. I explained that  was under a time crunch as the issues were discovered after the kitchen cabinets had been torn out and plumbing exposed. The work would need to be completed before the construction could continue.  A very nice gentleman came out, looked at what was needed and said the office would be in touch with an estimate.  It took several days before anyone even called to get an email address to send the estimate to. By that time I had already called in another company and the work was completed.  I am not sure if the quality of workmanship is a reflection of the management or if all the good technicians have just gone to work elsewhere.

I don't know about the other reviews on here, my experience was that Brittany, the lady that answered the phone, was pleasant and knew the questions to ask.  They sent a fellow named Larry out and he knew exactly what he was doing.  We have had a number of plumbers out over the years and that's why I called Steve's, looking for a *real* plumber.  They sent Larry.  He knew his business, got in, got out, and I'm happy.  Price was reasonable.

I am so pleased with every aspect of the experience I had with this company.   The person I spoke with on the phone was extremely courteous and friendly and she quoted an hourly rate and told me that a repairman would call me a half hour before arriving at my home that afternoon.  Ray arrived promptly and looked over all the things I needed done.  He fixed everything in short order and made several recommendations for me to avoid trouble in the future.  He went above and beyond in checking things out to make sure that there were no other problems looming.  He respected my home privacy and my time and did all he could to make sure this service experience was the best possible.  From other reviews I see here, it's clear that Ray is the kind of service professional we all hope for.  I will recommend Steve's Plumbing Repair to all my friends.

Steve's did some major piping repair under our home. For all I know the quality of work was good (fingers crossed) but it was the lack of communication on part of the company that was unprofessional. When we're paying thousands of dollars for a project we expect to be updated even somewhat regularly about how progress is going and when issues/delays are encountered. Every day there were new people doing the work (I don't think we ever saw the same people twice) and so there was no project manager to even figure out who to communicate with. We had to keep calling them to ask about the nature of what appeared to be additional work vs. them notifying us.  And, of course, the folks on the phone are not engaged in the actual project so the information they provide is not so helpful.  Anyway, we were quite dismayed when our final invoice showed an additional $1600. Again, additional unexpected work happens, I get it. But when you keep your customers in the dark until the final invoice (at which point what questions can you really ask?) that doesn't make us happy.
