We hired Manning for a kitchen remodel. First of all, the Manning team has project management unfit to do the job. The project manager was hardly ever around. Rick was never available. If the project manager was there and asked you if you would like this pot light here/there or something else done in a different way. There was no feedback that the price would increase. Then when Jennifer sends the invoice it is a surprise. Trust me, I would have decided differently if cost was changing. The Pay-as-you-go is a terrible business model. Reason being, you as a customer, have no leverage to push back on work that could have been better. And this happened to me. I had to end up cancelling the rest of the work because it got too expensive, the plumbing work was sub-par, the cabinet work needed adjusting and the fact there was no project management.
It has been a year now and my kitchen is still not done. The cabinets are unfinished, the appliances are in the garage and no paint on the walls. A year without a kitchen is tough for a family of 5. I had to inquire about hiring other contractors to come in and correct all of the cabinets so that the appliances fit (not one appliance would fit). I had to fix some more plumbing issues. I am having to work on cabinets myself because the good contractors are fully booked until 2023.
All in all I had a terrible experience. I should feel excited and good about my brand new kitchen, but I don't. Rick Manning, the owner, will argue with you instead of trying to delight you or fix the problem. In the end, he treated me like one of his sub-contractors.
I expect him or his team to respond to this review in order to discredit my words above. He has done that on reviews on other platforms to paying customers. My recommendation is not to choose Manning Construction for any work, large or small.
