Sky high prices - stick with the big box stores!

Well, we were misled and ripped off. Had planned on using Leak Geeks for a basic job (installation of a new toilet). Let's just say there's a reason Leak Geeks won't even give you a ballpark estimate of what basic jobs will cost over the phone despite this being one of the most common and routine plumbing jobs on the planet. The company requires that you pay a fee to have a plumber come out and offer a quote. I requested a quote for the installation of a new toilet and it was almost $700 that they wanted using their supplied toilet.

For the basic installation of a customer purchased toilet the cost quoted would have been over $400. Again, this is for installation of a single, customer purchased toilet without any complications or unusual circumstances! Absolutely disgusting considering that Home Depot will do the installation for $189.

So, I've paid $59 for the privilege of having someone come out and offer me an absurd quote. Is it because I'm a woman -- who knows? All I can say is stay far, far away from these jokers.

Oh, I'll also add that the cherry on this insulting cake was that the plumber who came to give this ridiculous estimate also tried to sell us on a recurring $15/month plumbing discount subscription fee! Only a total sucker would fall for that nonsense because at that cost ($180/year) for a potential discount on Leak Geek's inflated prices you'd be doing yourself a disservice no matter how things played out. The guy who came to our house even tried suggesting that plumbing issues happen all the time in a very sales-pitchy way. No, we maintain our home and have not had an issue in 15 years. We called Leak Geeks out to our house purely for an upgrade to one of the bathrooms.

I was planning to support a local business and leave a glowing review when they were able to schedule me the same day that I called. Instead I'm sitting here out 60 bucks and feeling like Leak Geeks thinks I'm a chump. The tactic is to have people feel the pain of losing their money on the call out to their home if they decide to use another company - they say they'll apply the cost of the fee to the job if you go forward with the work. In theory, that's great and reasonable if the quote they offer isn't more than twice the going rate of the work to be performed. I have no problem calling it what it is in this situation - a scam - a ripoff - and  disrespectful way to treat potential customers.

In a nutshell:

Doing some basic plumbing installation - stick with Lowe's or Home Depot.

If you have a plumbing emergency, my advice is to try practically anyone else because if this is the price that is offered for a job that you can shop around on, I don't even want to know how crazy prices for emergency work must be.

Also, I called the office and asked to speak to the manager after I received the crazy quote and paid $60 for nothing. The manager was apparently not in, but the secretary took my contact information and said that I'd get a call back. That never happened.

Stay away from this company.

We called them and they promised to come and evaluate leak for $59 promising to give back this if we accept to repair what they could find, Andrew came and in 10-15 minutes after to open all faucets in the bathroom and make a visual inspection let my wife know that was no leak in pipes or drain. He asked my wife $288 for the 10-15 minutes he was here and left. My wife paid because she thought that I have agreed the price when I called them. Later I called the office and after explaining a couple people my disagreement with the charge, they said that they will refund me with the payment, but they never did it. I called them because they claim a family own company, but I regret and I will never call them again.

I have used their service few times and they have been great. I woke up one morning to see my garage flooded with water from a broken water heater. I called Leak Geeks and they tried their best to send a technician to my house as soon as they could. Spencer was able to fix the whole thing in little over an hour, also recommended to use the right heater not the expensive one (which I really appreciated). I recommend using their service for any plumbing issues!!

We had a backed up bathroom sink in our home. A plumber named Derek came to our house and fixed the problem within 10 minutes. Everyone we dealt with from the receptionist/scheduler to the plumber was so nice and quick to help us fix the problem.

Quick response and professional, however shop around if money is an issue or you don't have good insurance. Had a foundation pipe leak and the guys came within 30min. They found the potential leak area in 2hrs and charged $700. Quoted another $7000 for each of the 3 options. Really pushed for a restoral team they are connected with before I could decide what to do. Ended up fixing myself for $1500 with help from dad and YouTube. Make sure to clarify how much they will charge just to come out. Felt a little scammed out of $700 and comforted at the same time. 4/5 stars because it is a business and they are professional.

The team from Leak Geeks installed a water heater for us.  They were so prompt, communicative and focused, it was great.  They are for sure our go to plumbers now.  

Brad and his coworker were polite, explained things well and worked hard to make sure it was the way we wanted it before they left.  

Great customer service which seems to be hard to find nowadays.

*Update/Response to Tony H. Owner:  Tony, this is Tim, Melissa's husband. I wrote the review. Thanks for the response, and here is some clarification.  I pointed out the number of holes in the walls because our insurance adjuster said that there was no need to cut that many to find the leak. Maybe it was necessary. We were not complaining about the amount of the bill. Regarding the gas to the furnace, this was turned off by your serviceman on a previous service call when he installed a gas line for our range. You state that we were given an option of replacing the entire drain or re-tightening the overflow nut. I do not recall being given that option, but the reason I called your company back was that on your invoice there was no reference to the leak being fixed. I needed something in writing stating that the leak was fixed for our insurance company, that is why I called your company back. I was told someone would get back to me, and they did not. Thanks.

Our hot water heater had a small gas leak. Leak Geeks immediately came out and inspected the issue. Great company!

This is the first time I have used this company but will definitely use them again. I had both my outside faucets leaking. They were prompt, efficient and friendly. Work looks great and pricing was appropriate. They were even fine with my dog. :)

I really appreciate the professionalism this team displays. I felt for the job that they did I received a good value. I also asked for some estimates on additional work and they gave me honest estimates. I would recommend them again.

Brad was amazing! He showed up early, was dressed very presentable, troubleshot the issue, explained in detail with what was found in depth and gave me options to proceed with.

What positive experience doing business with Leak Geeks. Spoke with Tony, the owner, yesterday and he confirmed the appointment for the next day. Brad came and his colleague finished the repairs within 2 hours. Cleaned up and made sure the job was done according to code and based on the description and price that I was quoted. Their price though not the lowest but it is fair! They have my vote of confidence and I have already recommended a friend needing a replacement for his garbage disposer. Keep on keeping on Leak Geeks!

From the original call into the office to finishing up the installation of the new toilet was awesome. The entire process was flawless and the technician Derek went out of his way to explain what needed to be done giving me several options, he then went over pricing before starting. Derek even saved me some money who does that nowadays? If your looking for a quality local plumbing company you need to look no further just give Leak Geeks a call. You'll be glad you did... you can thank me later.

I've used them several times, but the problem (clogged toilets) has still not been resolved. They charge a pretty hefty fee just to stop by, which was okay, until the last visit. We wanted them to install new toilets. We called, talked to them in detail, and they insisted that they had to come out and see the toilets before giving us a bid. Well, the guy was only in the house about 5 minutes, didn't even look at the one toilet I was worried about (because of the door position & elongated seat), hardly looked at the others, charged me almost $100, and had the bid already written out and handed it to me. We don't understand why he had to come out, and why they had to charge us for it if the amount was already configured. To make matters worse, when we called back to get more information about ordering and installing the toilets , we got ghosted.

My old jetted tub cracked at the drain creating a nightmarish mess.
Leak Geeks came to my rescue. Spencer came and assessed the damage. He got in touch with Dry Force, a water damage company, who came out to mitigate the mess. Meanwhile I ordered a replacement tub through Leak Geeks. I upgraded to a Jacuzzi tub for slightly more than the cost of a direct replacement.
I couldn't be happier. The finished job is gorgeous and works amazing.

I liked these guys last time I used them.  I had appointment between 4-6 today - I thought.  Sat here for hours to get a call at 6 saying they don't work on water lines in the backyard that are pool related.  Would have been a GREAT phone call hours ago - or even better when I booked.

I gotta say I've used a plumbing service before but Derek an Jesse are absolutely amazing only 2 hours after calling for a quote for someone to check a leak they were here diagnosed the issue an fixed the leak with a matter of hours beyond just being absolutely friendly an talkative these guys found the balance between getting the work done an still acknowledging that you exist which we all know doesn't happen often. I for the time being when needing any services they provide will just be calling them first instead of the normal help me with my project I use to do on Yelp.Thanks again for helping me you guys absolutely rock.

They were here within an hour of my call, very professional and got the done quick.  My system is working better than the day I moved in, I'll definitely refer to friends, family and my clients.

Leak Geeks Plumbing answered my Yelp request immediately.  Brad came out and explained why the hot water heater was leaking and the repairs needed.  We agreed to the initial repair to stop the leak.  He returned the next day to replace the hot water heater.  He did not try to sell us an appliance, which was nice.  My husband and made the decision.  We felt good about being informed of our options and not pushed.  Brad is great.  We will use Leak Geeks in the future for sure!

They replaced the main water line to my home.  Did a good job.   It took longer than expected but it was mostly due to rain and the wrong concrete being replaced.  They however did a good job.  The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is due to the fact they promised metal plates put  on the trench in my driveway so I could use it,  however that only happened after the job was 80% completed.  This is important due my disability and made it quite difficult on me.  The plates I had to ask for over and over again and explained my disability they kept promising but only delivered when the job was almost completed.

Kudos to this organization!  We have had a gas leak around our fireplace that steadily became worse.  Called these folks and they were able to send somebody the same day!  Their technician inspected the area, identified the leak and as it only involved tightening a valve they were done quickly and charge was nominal!  Highly recommend these guys and will call them again for future service!

Derek  is most courteous and professional.  He arrived in a timely fashion each time,  friendly and knowledgeable. He serviced our leak quickly while patiently answered all questions.  Good job!!

Great local family owned business. We have used them several times and they are consistent with getting the job done in a very professional manner. Our bathroom sink was backed up and the a/c overflow was routed through this sink. Flooded the bathroom before we realized it was plugged.  Jesse had it unplugged in no time.  He was very careful not to leave a mess when the auger came out covered with residue.   Also, fixed the hose extension that has been leaking for over a week.   Were afraid since we didnt schedule time in the original appointment that he would have to come back, but he repaired it as well.  It really does make a difference when someone knows what they are doing and can get it done the right way!  Highly recommend this company!

Truly amazed with the professionalism and sense of urgency provided during these horrific ice days in Texas.  Loved Jesse and Eric's level of service from communication to taking the time to check and verify the pipe systems in the house functioned as expected.  Jesse was calm and knowledgeable as he explained all the details of what was taking place.  Highly recommend Leak Geeks Pluming.  In times like these, they showed what they are all about!  Don't hesitate and call them if you need any pluming services.   Great job guys!!

Brad and Eric were phenomenal, quickly identified the source of leaks and resolved the problems. VERY professional and positive, answered my questions with patience a d triple checked their work. Definitely adding them to speed dial for future plumbing  emergencies.

I have used Leak Geeks more than once: toilet installation, outside hose bib replacement, and most recently a drain leak under the kitchen sink. With each job, I have been impressed with the quality of work and the professionalism of the plumbers. Brad has done the work two of those jobs, and he is outstanding. Friendly, knowledgeable, explains everything in layman's terms. Highly recommend!

Cannot say enough good things about this company. We have used them before and have been very pleased with their service but this afternoon we had a plumbing emergency. Leak Geeks sent someone out within an hour and fixed the problem quickly and efficiently. I feel like they literally saved our lives!! Thank you Leak Geeks and thank you to our plumber Jesse!!

We had broken pipe after the freeze.  Found recommendations on Next Door for this company so we called them.  We got scheduled for next day, they were very polite, answered every question I had and explained costs up front. Costs were very reasonable too.  

Totally recommend this company & will keep their name & number for any future problems.

I had a refrigerator delivered, and the install team couldn't put the waterline in due to the shutoff valve was behind the water heater.  I put a request for some information to Leak Geeks and other plumbing companies.  Leek Geeks said they could get someone out today instead of tomorrow or another day.  Spencer came over and did the work in 30 minutes or less.   He was professional as well as his helper.   I will use them again

10/6/2016: The Owner, Tony, called me back & told me that they try to provide a fast, efficient service with quality parts backed up by a 5 year warranty. We came to a mutual agreement in $.
Considering that his business is very very close to my house & that he is willing to work with me on some issues, I will be looking forward to doing business with him in the near future.

These folks are the real deal! They are honest, reliable, knowledgeable, professional and kind! I called them for a job that had been done over and over by other companies through the years. They not only fixed it completely but educated me on what to do to prevent it from happening again. They saved me a ton of money and headaches. Don't call anyone else unless you have called them first! You'll be glad you did!

Sent in a request for service this morning. Steve was quick and efficient. I love a good bargain but when it comes to labor, I am willing to pay for great service. Leek Geeks is worth it!

can not say enough about this company and the plumbing services. The initial experience with the office staff and even the women I spoke with on the phone was so polite and kind. She was able to have a technician out that very same day. Brad, the technician was extremely knowledgeable and allowed me to ask as many questions when determining the leak. He was professional and honest with all that was wrong with my plumbing. He had patience and finished in a timely manner.  You could tell he enjoyed working for the company. When coming to terms with the leak they were fair if not more than fair in pricing the fix. This company is amazing and I can not recommend them enough. This review is a little late in coming and I apologize to everyone at Leak Geeks for that. We had a pipe break on the outside of our house in the back and we called Leak Geeks. Everyone we had contact with was great. Miss Carol fielded my call and put me in touch with Jesse. He came out the next day and after trying to fix things with as little intrusion as possible, he had to tell us that our pipe was broken at the foundation. He did no work without checking with me first to know if he should continue or not. He advised me as to the additional cost of everything he had to do to locate the leak and finally told us what our estimate was and how he expected things to proceed. He advised me that if I had any further questions to call His boss Tony which I didn't have to do because Jesses was able to answer all my questions. They took pictures and videos of the broken pipe and the work they had to do at my request in case I needed them for the insurance company and I'm glad they did that for me because  I sent it to the adjuster to show the extent of the work involved in repairing our pipe. I will end this by saying they are a good group of people. I met Tony personally to thank him for his hard-working crew and for the financial assistance by waiving the cost of coming out to check things out. He does this simply because he understands that people might have a monetary strain due to COVID. No other plumbers I reached out to was doing that. I understand that not everyone is going to have the same experience so I can only speak for myself and how things went for us. Called due to a leaking shower fixture and they came out within 30 min on a holiday to fix it fast. Thank you to your courteous serviceman Derrick and his fast service.

We had, what I would basically consider a plumbing emergency situation.  My husband called a couple of places, hoping he could find someone to come out that same day, meet him after he gets home from work, and not charge an outrageous same day price. After calling a couple of different companies, he knew almost immediately, when the sweet lady, from Leak Geeks answered the phone....she was very knowledgeable and reassured him, that they will take care of our problem today, she will have a skilled plumber, waiting at our home whenever he arrives home from work, which btw was late on a Friday afternoon.  We were sure we had a clog somewhere, had water backing up in both bathroom sinks, water overflowing in the attic, which was leaking from the ceiling in the bedroom, a total mess!  We rec'd a courtesy call, letting us know they were 10 min. away and Spencer was waiting at our home when my husband arrived, just like they promised.  Spencer was very calm, professional and knowledgeable, he diagnosed the problem immediately, and quoted us a very reasonable price.  Well to make a long story short, it wasn't as easy of a fix as we thought, what he normally could have repaired in 5 mins., took a couple of hours, due to where the clog was located and how big it was.  Spencer had another truck deliver some further supplies needed, to get the job done right, (the same day)!  I believe, from prior experience, most companies would have told us, we won't be able to complete this today, you'll have to wait until Monday, I don't have everything I need on my truck, but Spencer went above and beyond to complete the job and stay as long as it took, on a Friday afternoon, surprisingly they charged us the amount they originally quoted us,
even though it turned out being a much bigger job, than expected!!! After all that was done, he still spent some time giving my husband some advice on how to repair a different issue himself, to save us some money.  We will definitely be calling Leak Geeks for any plumbing issues we have, I highly recommend them....thank you for saving us from having a horrible weekend!!  It's not easy finding a company that truly cares......If you need a good Plumber, let this company be your first call!!!!

Steve did a great job putting things back to normal.  The repair work didn't take up room in the water closet, they back filled and put concrete back in once the plumbing piping was replaced.  He kept me abreast of any changes and explained things well.  I would recommend then highly.

UPDATE: I was not home when Steve came back to reset the toilet after floor was retiled.  Larry reported Steve said seals had dried out and needed replacing.  Bottom line, he rebuilt the toilet at a charge of $392!   I could have purchased a new toilet for less than that. I am not happy about how this was handled.  Then when I tried to flush the toilet, it would not flush.  So we had to arranged for Steve to come out again to fix it.  I  told Steve that I doubt that we will use this company again.

UPDATE 2:  Steve must have passed my comments along.  Owner called and apologized.  Returned my check.  He said we should have been offered replacement of toilet instead of rebuild because of the cost.  He did offer to send a different plumber to replace the toilet if we are not happy with rebuild.  The owner's call indicated they will stand behind their work.

UPDATE 3:  Toilet was replaced and is flushing with no problems.  Owner went above and beyond what could be expected to handle this problem.  I am impressed.  I would recommend this company based on how far they go to stand behind their work.  Nancy

We used Leak Geeks for a clogged kitchen sink.  Note to self: Spaghetti noodles go in the trash - not the garbage disposal!  The sweet dispatcher made sure we had someone out to our home quickly and even called when they were on their way.  The plumber was knowledgeable, diligent and very courteous.  I appreciated that he wore boot covers and took special care to sanitize under the sink after he was done.  The pricing was fair and the service really was top notch. I wouldn't hesitate to use Leak Geek in the future.

We had a shower that we couldn't turn off so we had to shut off the water to the house.  With the temperatures in the mid 90's, being without water was a big problem.  We called Leak Geeks Plumbing asking for a Plummer that afternoon.  My initial call was around 2 pm.  So Carolyn went to work to get someone here.  She called back about 15 minutes later and said if they had someone in the area, she would divert them here.  She called again a few minutes later and said Spencer would be here after he finished the call he was on at that time.  Spencer called about 3:15 on would be here in 1/2 an hour.  Spencer and Eric showed up at 3:45 or so and got our repair done.  Great people that did a great job.  Would highly recommend them.  They worked us into their busy schedule.  Next time, I will not call anyone else.  Leak Geeks made a customer for life.  Thank you Carolyn, Spencer, and Eric for your responsiveness and job well done.

Not to pile on, but I am piling on. This is what service is ALL ABOUT. Tony was so friendly and helpful. He gave us some great advice and checked my husband's
handiwork with excellent diplomacy. He saved out bathroom, my mind, our weekend...maybe our marriage?! We will always call these guys for any plumbing issue. Customer for life gained and my personal faith in humanity solidified.

I wanted to express my appreciation for the incredible service and support
Leak Geeks provided me this week.  The entire team at Leak Geeks seemed
vested in helping me.  I think that is something you don't see in today's
world.  The minute a lovely woman picked up the phone to the actual plumber
who came to the house not once, not twice, but three times, I got the care
and attention I needed to handle a broken faucet.

I'm also amazed at the willingness to expedite the delivery of my new
faucet.  Lowe's, Home Depot, even the local plumbing supply store kept
quoting me 10 days for this crazy faucet my wife wanted.  Leak Geeks spent
the time and energy to get it in a day.  Happy wife, happy life.

Please know the plumber was very knowledgable, professional and nice enough
to listen and answer all my questions.  You see I'm not the best around the
house guy.  I appreciated that.

Called and got an appointment right away, no waiting which was amazing! They were right on time and super professional. Our plumber Derek resolved the issue quickly and because it was so minor they did not even charge us. Will definitely be using them in the future and can't recommend them enough!

I called & asked for an estimate as I needed a lot of work done.  Steve came out & spent forever looking at bathrooms, kitchen etc. & FINALLY wrote up an estimate.  Before he left, he called the office & evidently they told him I was liable for a $49 estimate charge!!!  What do you do when the man is standing in front of you asking for money & I live alone?  So I gave him my CC & he FINALLY went on his way!!!
The estimate was totally unreasonable!  I then called a reputable plummer & they gave me an estimate over the phone which was half the price, came out in a couple of days and did excellent work.  I even took the estimate to Home Depot where I bought the new fixtures I wanted to replace the old ones & even the employee who helped me confirmed that Leak Geeks was WAY OUT OF LINE in pricing!
I refused the charge through my CC company & Leak Geeks are standing their ground on the $49 charge that says 'Service Call Charge', not 'Estimate Charge'!  He did nothing while he was here, NO SERVICE at all.
Stay away from this particular Leak Geeks Plumbing!  Clearly took advantage of a Senior Citizen!

Called Bluebonnet Plumbers based on recommendations from neighbors.  He came out and fixed everything in 15 minutes for $84.  Don't use Leek Geeks.

Steve came out about 10 min after I called (even when their business hours were almost over). He was very professional, courteous, and fixed our toilet in no time. Thank you, Leak Geeks! I definitely recommend them to anyone with plumbing issues.

Had them to the house twice and they did a great job. The second time was no charge even though they told me on the phone that there was a trip charge. Plumber saw an easy fix, fixed it and went on his way. They seem very professional and best if all honest. I will continue to use them for all my plumbing needs.

Flappers replaced in 4 toilets $527.  Rediculous pricing.  I don't mind paying a fair price but it seems to me that with flappers at full retail costing about $10 I was charged about 300 an hour.  You don't pay that for a plumber in the Northeast.

The owner and his employees are very trustworthy and professional.  They responded to our needs very quickly and efficiently.  All the work they have done for us has been exceptional.  When they are done with a job you can't even tell they've been there, as they always clean up after the work is completed.  Leak Geeks is our go to company for all of our plumbing needs.  We recommend them to all our friends and neighbors!

We needed two new hot water heaters to replace the originals in our 14 year old home.  I generally like to get 3 quotes for any project like this.  However, Leak Geeks responded to my online request early the next morning and came out promptly the next afternoon to investigate our issue.  The serviceman was very helpful with my wife and presented all of our options so we could make an informed decision.  Due to Leak Geeks prompt service and informative tech, we didn't shop around and feel that we got a very fair price and top notch equipment and service.  We now have a go to company for any future plumbing issues.
