My plumber suggested I go down Industrial Blvd and check out the toilet options in the plumbing supply stores.  Based on some reviews, I figured I may be met with some attitude from the staff going in as a mere lady homeowner instead of either being
A) An actual plumber or B) A man.

I went to two places. Joscos and Moore Supply. Both places were places I'd go again. Neither of them gave me attitude for being a lady who had some questions.  If anything, they were quite polite, friendly and even humorous.:)

I purchased from Joscos because they had the brand I was looking for. However, If I needed a supplier from Moore I'd readily purchase from them as well.

Back to Joscos:
I talked to a few folks in the store, they were welcoming and helpful. Talked me through all the brands/ prices / features that I was looking for in the toilet. (Full disclosure - I did come in having done some research, so I wasn't expecting them to give me a full plumbing 101 class or anything.)

Jonathan helped me select the commodes I wanted, gave me some good pricing (I compared, so I know.) and then even was helpful when I had to call back to double check features such as the rough in dimension.

Josco sure is not professional on the phone.  I just gave up trying to speak with the parts man they had answering the phone.  He mumbled some sort of answer, so I asked again, he mumbled something again, so the third time I said, I did not understand your name, who is this?  And on the third try, he again mumbles a name I cannot understand.    So, I gave up, even though I *really* needed to find this part...

Don't spend money advertising on the radio inviting me to come into your showroom for you to tell me about your Toto fixtures and then have a person just yell at me from an adjacent room with the prices. I expected someone to show me the fixtures and explain the different options and availability, like they did at your competitor's down the street. I was very surprised by the lack of service given the description in your radio ad.

Buyer Beware - Josco in Austin, TX
Terrible Customer Service Experience and watch your wallet.

Called Josco before I went as I needed to replace a 25 year old pressure valve attached to a 3 foot piece of old copper pipe.  Explained I had done 4 hours of work digging it out of  the dried rocky caliche clay that is my front yard and asked if they would help me figure out a replacement setup.  Josco assured me they would be happy to help and to come on in.

When I got to Josco I was met by a youngish, dark haired sales guy who was busy chatting with two younger plumbers and seemed to be pissed off that another customer came in.  I spent 5 minutes or so listening to them discuss everything but plumbing or parts, but that is part of what customer service is all about so I didn't think twice about it.  When it came to my turn, I let him know I was the one that called and showed him the 3' piece of pipe and pressure valve that I needed to replace.

One of the Josco salesman's buddies, (the visiting plumber) immediately took interest in my project as he and his friend were walking out the door and advised me that the only way to replace the pipe was to use a 3' pex pipe adapter that he would be glad to fabricate for me for just $600.  Both he and the sales guy had a nice laugh as did I, until they informed me that they were serious about the price for him to fabricate the 3 foot piece.

The sales guy and the plumber exchanged a look and both agreed that it was the only way to fix the situation.  I inquired about using PVC, or a similar piece of copper or perhaps a short piece of galvanized pipe for the part.

The sales guy begrudginly brought out a piece of pvc with an elbow to show me that it just could not be done any other way other than the $600 option his buddy proposed.  He went on to advise me that they did not carry anything similar to the pressure valve but that he might be able find me one.

At that point I did not even wait for the inevitable and additionally price gouge quote for the pressure valve and explained I had to step out to take a call.  Fortunately for me, and unfortunately for Josco, I have a background in construction although I had just come from a business meeting and my dress code may have thrown them off.  Otherwise an unsuspecting and trusting customer might have indeed paid Josco nearly $1000 for a 3' piece of pex pipe, a ball joint and a pressure valve.

Not sure how these guys do business, but unsuspecting customers should know that the seemingly complete lack of ethics and integrity and the sales guy's blatant attempt to find the next mark while they rip off a customer is amazing to me.

From Josco I went right down the street to another plumbing supply house and solved the entire problem, with pex pipe adapter, ball joint, new pressure meter, nice and honorable people and a great experience for less than $125.

My opinion of Josco Plumbing Supply is less that 1 star, but that is not an option.  Yet another Buyer Beware type of situation.

Excellent customer service. We were told at Home Depot we would have to replace the entire faucet for the kitchen sink as they didn't sell parts even to service its own brands. The guys at Josco found the right part. After a little discussion as to whether it would fit correctly, we went ahead and bought the piece. They said if it wasn't right we could bring it back as long as water wasn't run through it, which was completely reasonable. So a project that could have been in the $200 range got done for about 40 bucks. Thank you, guys!

Love, love, love this place! As a contractor, I stand in line all over town, trying to find parts for random things. I went to a competitor and stood there for 20 minutes, for them to hem and haw about why they couldn't match it to the broken part in my hand. Yes, I know it's broken, that's why they need a new one....and yes, I am a female GC, so I also got the little lady attitude. No, I don't know the brand. Here is the part. Clearly has nothing written on it. You are a parts house, that's why I came here.

They referred me to Josco. They will be sorry they did, as I will not shop anywhere else for my plumbing supplies. Walked in, showed him the parts, he walked over and grabbed them off the shelf, and I paid - in under five minutes. And he was checking someone else out when I got there.

My only concern about writing this review? That the secret will be out.... Josco is the only place to go for plumbing supplies in Austin.

Very helpful guys and took the time to help me find the correct part even though is was only $7.  It's good to know businesses like this are available instead of the big box stores.

I was searching for a replacement part. After calling several places around Austin, including Home Depot, I called Josco and they saved the day. They had a solid selection of leftover parts in the back and the manager was extremely helpful in making sure the parts matched.

Josco found a toilet tank lid to match my old toilet. They saved me from having to replace the tank.

Just bought a part at Josco yesterday. The employee Matthew was knowledgeable, took me straight to the part and demonstrated how it should be installed. He said it should take about 10 min. to install. I had thought he cursed me by saying that but it really was a 10 min. Job! Looks like a strict return policy according to the receipt that is why I don't rate it a full five stars. Regular stocked merchandise has to be new and unopened, returned in 10 days for a refund minus a 15% restocking fee.

My plumber recommended Josco to help me get a replacement Water supply cartridge for our shower. The one I picked up at a competitor was defective and the sales people told me I needed a name brand cartridge if it were to work properly. They had one in stock (Moen) that works perfectly, and smoother than any one I had used in the last 11 years. Genaro went above and beyond the call!

I called for a part and when I got there to pick up the part they held for me, I showed them a picture of what I needed. The parts guy showed me how to fix it really easy and it saved me $$ Awesome Service Thanks

So this is the place that plumbers will go to find solutions to fixing things as opposed to throwing away and buying a new one.  I had to do some work on an rv's water system, these gentlemen sold me the filter I needed, that no one else is town had.  Great can do people!!!

It's going to happen to you eventually--you're going to have a problem with your plumbing. And guess what? If you're trying to DIY the problem (like me), Lowe's, Home Depot, or any of those other big-box, home improvement stores WON'T always have the part you're looking for.

Josco Plumbing Supply is one of many parts supply shops wedged on to the dusty, and always busy, Industrial Blvd in South Austin. Did I mention they're small? If you're driving by and you blink, you'll miss it.

Don't let that sweat you, though. When I walked in to the store, with only a picture of the part (an American Standard faucet stem) on my cell phone, an employee quickly replied That's American Standard...Yeah, we have that.

All the parts on my list? They had them. Silicone grease? Got it. Extra washers? Done. Everything was competitively priced, too. The entire process only took a couple of minutes and couldn't have been easier.

I hope to never use them again (because that means I'll be fixing something else!), but knowing that I will, it's good to know a place like Josco Plumbing Supply exists.

I'm not a plumber, more of a handyman. Had a problem with a tub overflow drain and went into Josco, talked to Matthew, and very soon after left the shop with the parts I needed. It saved me money and time. Good service.

Went to get an unusual diverted valve cartridge for a Pioneer valve. They immediately recognized what it was and had it in stock. They also recommended that I replace the seals. They had these as well. When I explained that I was not a plumber, he explained how to take out the old seals. The reason I am giving five stars is because if the price. Cost me less than $16 which I figure is 1/10 the coat of a plumber if I knew a good one.

I am a property manager for an apartment complex and we're updating a 40 yr old unit with upscale fixtures and finishes.  I went in to Josco and they were extremely patient and helpful.  They gave me several options and advice on how to save money.  I highly recommend Josco!

BEWARE of this store.  They don't do what they say they will do and they don't even try to resolve a problem even when the mistake was theirs.  Let me explain.  I am remodeling my bathroom and laundry room. I purchased high quality products from Josco at their N. Lamar location totaling $5,100 including two sinks, two faucets, a shower system, a free standing vanity and a toilet.  At the time of purchase I asked if they deliver and the answer was yes.  Not true.   When I called my salesman I found out he had been fired and, no, Josco won't deliver.  But that was minor.  When my project started we found that the salesman had ordered a  retrofit Grohe shower system (total cost of $554) which could only be used if you have an existing Grohe shower (which of course I don't).  When asked how long if would take to swap it out with something I could use, Dustin very bluntly said that there wasn't anything they could do about it.  Even though the mistake was admittedly theirs, I had to eat the cost.  I asked to speak to the owner and, of course, he wasn't there.  When asked for his name, Dustin said that he couldn't (wouldn't) tell me his name.   So I asked Dustin to please have him call me back.  Imagine my surprise when he didn't call.  I will never buy anything else at this store.  Absolutely horrible customer service!!
