I would like to give -100 star rating. This business received our AHS contract. The issue is bad garbage disposal and the drain. But the service man told me the service contract was not covered it.

AHS connected me with J & K for a main line block. We received a call within 2 hours but couldn't get a same day appointment which was disappointing because the toilets were backing up into the bathtubs. But they arrived early in the time window and he was very courteous. I will request this company every time I have to contact through AHS.

The only problem I have is that it's been almost a week and my check hasn't cleared my bank account, which is VERY frustrating!

Almost 2 weeks later and the check STILL hasn't cleared my bank. VERY frustrating!

Saw a lot of the negative posts. I was worried when American Home Shield said J&K would be the company assigned to repair / replace a leaking Garbage Disposal.  They called the afternoon before, gave us a 7-8 a.m  window for the repair the next day.  Called 15 minutes ahead of time(6:45 a.m.) and were at the door by 7:00 a.m.  Replaced the disposal quickly, efficiently, took our check for the AHS payment.   Everyone was very friendly and courteous,  Can't ask for much more than that, we are satisfied.  Would not be afraid to use them again.

The lady there, does not return calls. The plumber left my tenant with a stopped up bath tub with no call after several attempts. Very inconsiderate company really

If I could give a zero rating I would.  Two trips with little effort and a second trip with blame cast in my direction because the technician did not fix it the first trip.  I was told that after less than 8 mins in my home that my daughter needed to close her shower curtain better (no water on the floor as the leak is occurring in my downstairs ceiling and light fixture).  This resulted in further and much more significant damage because of course it was not the shower curtain that was the problem.  The office staff, Cody specifically, was rude and informed me that they would not be fixing my leak because I was rude.

AHS customers, please know that you CAN REQUEST what plumbing company you want to use. The first plumbing company that AHS wanted to send out had an F with BBB, J&K plumbing, has an A+ so we asked that they send them out. Yes, we read the previous reviews but we took the chance. Glad we did. All I can say TRUTHFULLY is that Dustin was awesome! He was on time, friendly, and most importantly found the problem quickly, and had it fixed in 15 minutes. His truck is well stocked with parts, so there was no issue on having to wait for parts. I will 100% ask AHS to send J&K out if we ever have another plumbing issue.

AHS contracted us with J&K Plumbing.  I was a little nervous because of all the negative reviews.  They were very nice to work with and finished the job fast.  The only complaint was it took them a long time to contact me to schedule an appointment.

Forced to use due to home warranty.  Avoid at all costs.  Had them out and called back during 30 day incident period.  Owner of J&K said I would need to open a new incident but was told by their plumber I had 30 days.  So I called home warranty company, they said I was still within 30 day period and they sent email to J&K to call me.  Did not hear next day from them so I called them.  Meanwhile my house is backing up with sewage and smell just great.  Kid on phone said the scheduling team was in a meeting and would have to call me back. I raised my voice just a bit and he got pissed at me.  As I said house smells like poop now for 5 days but he gets mad at me.  I just said forget it and called a real plumber and got the thing fixed.  Never did hear back from J&K.  Miserable group of people just interested in the $$$ and not service.

Called American Home Shield yesterday December 11, 2018 regarding my gas hot water heater. I was immediately assigned J & K Plumbing and was advised I would receive a call within 24 hours for my scheduled appointment. Within 30 minutes I received a call from the office staff at J & K Plumbing and they advised they would be at my home Wednesday December 12, 2018 between 8am and noon.
Today December 12, 2018 I received a phone call from J & K Plumbing at 10:15am and said the plumber was enroute to my home. He arrived at 10:45am and introduced himself and his helper and advised me he could repair the gas hot water heater. Within 30 minutes he replaced the automatic gas sensor valve and pilot coupler. He showed me that the heater flame came on and that we should have hot water within the hour.
These guys were on top of their game. Very professional, polite, and explained everything to me. Please don't believe all the negative reviews you see on yelp. These guys worked hard and fast & repaired my hot water heater. Thanks for the excellent service.

Got allocated J&K from American Home Shield (AHS). Tech was nice enough, however got a call from AHS the next day saying it would be an additional $505 to 'bring my water heater up to code' Spoke to the lady who answers the phone at J&K who said the bulk of the cost ($315) was for an item that was required in the texas code for water heaters. Turns out that was not true. Confirmed as a lie by the city building inspector. Should have been a bill for less than $200. TBH, what rang alarm bells first was that they do not accept any form of payment apart from cash or cashiers check, given to the tech in advance of any work being done! not even personal checks. I then looked online and saw the universally terrible reviews and went with someone else who did a great job much more quickly and accepted all forms of payment (needless to say they had great reviews online too).

Terrible customer service and very shoddy work I would never recommend these people extremely rude people in their front office and did not complete the work     I am turning them into the Better Business Bureau as well

We were set up through American home Shield and they did not complete the work and would not come back to fix what they tore up in the first place

Would not recommend this company due to awful customer services.  Placed service request at 7:30 am on a Tuesday, called back to schedule an appoint later in the morning and was told scheduling would get back with me.  I had not heard back from them by Wed. morning.  Called them back.  The same woman I had spoken with on Tuesday morning stated they could not find my address.  Google seems to know where I live and so does Amazon, USPS, UPS, and the fire department.  She was extremely rude.

I dont know if they are good plumbers or bad plumbers.  Will never know.  But they need to release the woman who answers the phone.  And now after reading other reviews....its a wonder they are still in busines.

American Home Shield set us up with J&K Plumbing for pipe leaks.
Took them a lot longer to call than I would have expected. Finally when I heard from them I said it was pretty serious considering we had an active leak in our wall. Kathy the owner was not really interested if it was urgent or not. Set up 12-4pm window two days later.

Kathy called me at 12:11, tech on his way and be there in about 15 minutes. My wife ran out quick and was heading back and I left work to head home, normally a 7-10 minute drive. At 12:26 she called me to advise the tech is at my door, no one answering. Kathy called and I explained my wife should be there and I was calling her as I was heading there as well. I called Kathy and said I couldn't reach my wife but I was on my way and a few minutes out. She said ok.

I arrived at 12:39 and an invoice was on my door that said they left at 12:37 with no notice. I immediately called Kathy and asked why she didn't tell him I was on my way like I just told her.

She very rudely responded you said you were 2 minutes away
She was rude, abrupt and impolite and refused to call the tech to come back only advising me that the only option was to call AHS and issue another report...another $75 because they couldn't wait for a customer 2 more minutes. She was very rude and as a business owner myself can not believe the lack of customer service. Stay away from this company. They definitely don't care if you are a warranty customer.

HORRIBLE DO NOT USE!!! These guys are crooks. They came for warranty work through AHS. They fixed a flapper and looked at leaky toilet. After 3 weeks of leaving of us hanging and numerous phone calls...no response. Called again and they said they had ordered parts and would come out. Call #5 receptionist left me on hold 20 minutes while she called AHS and made up a story that the reason they can't repair the job was because the house has shifted. There has been no shifting in our home what so ever, and to have a PLUMBER GIVE ENGINEERING ADVICE is ludicrous! Of course AHS denied the claim and I have know go through the warranty process again with another co-pay. They don't even have the decency to call me back. COWARDS!!!!

They sent the most Pathetic, Weak, Whining, Lazy, Ignorant Plumber on the Planet! Never ever again will that sarcastic crook step foot in my home and insult my wife while I'm not home. The only positive was when he left. But  nothing requested got fixed or even a quote. They are part of the AHS Scam!

So I'm going to the hardware store and buy the parts to fix it myself. Why? Not because I don't know how, I was willing to pay for a plumbing service because I really don't have the time. However, I'd rather do it myself than pay one red cent to such a weak little runt and only end up with frustration. Never ever again!

Our drain was clogged deep into the pipes.  The plumber was knowledgeable and friendly.  He resolved the issue in less than 20 minutes and took the time to let us know things we can do to avoid the issue again as well as resolve it ourselves should it happen again.

the customer service by the manager of the company is terrible.  I was describing a concern I had about the service they performed and was requesting that they come back out to my house to complete the job and they refused.  they hung up in my face.  It took the technician a long time to do the work and when it was finally completed it wasnt done properly.  Buyer beware!

Dustin did a great job. After requesting service via the internet thru AHS...I promptly received a call from J & K...and a service guy was at my house within minutes. Don't know about previous reviewers but J & K did a fabulous job and would use them again if needed!

Another plumbing company was here, couldn't fix the problem and then quoted me a near $1000 solution.  The plumber from J&K Plumbing, Jake, was here on time and was very professional.  He showed up, asked two questions, and twenty minutes later everything was fixed!!!!  He was really friendly and made sure I understood everything he did to fix our issue.  Going forward, J&K Plumbing will be our first call.  Also, you can request them on AHS.

Terrible service, A plumber arrived only to look at my shower spout and it was corroded and the diverter was stuck. His opinion was that the diverter needed to be pushed up and down until it loosened and that they are not authorized to do cosmetic work. I called AHS again and requested someone else to come out but not J&K. I got the second plumber from Sirius and they told me that the part was too corroded and needed to be replaced; he promptly replaced it. I had to pay an extra $100 for the second call.
Apparently the J&K plumber did not want to put in the extra work to replace the part.  I will never use them and I do not recommend them for anyone if they want the job done right.

Horrible company to work with.  Agree, woman who does the scheduling is extremely rude.  They give you a 15 minute call ahead instead of 30.  I have two kids and was given a 4 hour window for my appointment.  I missed the call saying they were on their way and that they plumber was there.  I called within 25 minutes of the first call but it was too late and they are still demanding the $75 service fee (couldn't wait 10 minutes until I arrived home but i am suppose to wait for 4 hours!?!). I have two kids and can't wait 4 hours and if they didn't receive a confirmation from me on the call ahead, then don't come to my house just to charge me.  Other suppliers with AHS have rescheduled with us before and it was never an issue.  Still in shock how rude they were on the phone.

Plumber was sent by AHS for a leaky exterior hose bib. On the first trip the plumber stated he fixed it  and shame on me for not checking it before he left as I thought it was a straightforward repair. When I used the garden hose that night I discovered it was still leaking so had to call them back out again. On the 2nd trip he again tells me it is fixed so I go check it while he is still here and sure enough it was still leaking. He scratched his head and stated it wasn't leaking a few minutes ago when he apparently fixed it. He then tested the water pressure and stated the psi was over 120 which is why it keeps leaking. He then glanced inside the valve box, I think to see if I had a PRV,   and stated I needed a new PRV and quickly informed me that AHS would not cover this. First of all, if my water pressure was over 120 psi my pipes would likely be shaking inside the walls when I run the water. The next day I called the City of Frisco and they came out for free and tested it. Their reading was 85 psi so I then called my own plumber outside of AHS and he also tested it to be 85. He stated it didn't need replacement, but just an adjustment. With the turn of a wrench and a fee of half the service call fee with AHS it was fixed.

I requested a plumber through AHS and was really worried because they provided 4 options to choose from and all had terrible Yelp and Google ratings.  I chose J & K because they were the closest to me.

I received a call from the office and spoke with a very pleasant lady who worked with me to schedule a day/time.

Then on the day of, I received a call from the same lady to let me know the plummer was on his way.

The gentleman arrived shortly thereafter. He was courteous as I explained the issue.  He took a few moments to assess and test, then confirmed to me what was wrong and headed to his truck to get some parts / tools.

I left him to it and he was done in about 20 minutes.  Everything was fixed. What more could you ask for.  Well, we did chat for a few minutes at the end because it turns out he had been to the house before with the previous owners and actually knew the previous owners (we just bought).  

He gave me some unsolicited plumbing advice which was thoughtful and helpful.  Then he was on his way.

Overall, it was a perfect experience.  So, given the bad reviews, I felt obligated to share my good experience.

This is my second experience with this company through AMS. They have let me down 2 times now. The first time I ended up calling a real plumber. The latest experience was replacing a cartridge in a bathroom sink. They came out twice. The second time I thought that they had repaired it. Later that night the whole faucet came loose. I call J & K again and they refused to come out a third time. They said that they don't make mistakes. I ended up spending 6 hours on hold waiting to speak to AHS. I finally convinced AHS to send out a different plumber. This plumber was here 15 minutes and had the faucet completely repaired.
I have also added this company to my AHS do not call list of contractors. The woman that answers the phone is extremely rude also.

I have AHS and this is the 2nd time they have used this company for my water heater repair. I read all of the reviews and was a bit hesitant when I saw AHS used this same company for my service call. I had Dustin come to my home promptly when Cathy told me he would be there. He was courteous, professional, and expedient. I do not write many reviews but felt this one was necessitated because of all the negative reviews this company had. Both time the plumbers from this company have been to my home have been great. Please give them a try and find out for yourself. The customer service rep Cathy that scheduled the appointment was very patient with me and helped to expedite my service call. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because they couldn't come out the very same day (they were booked).

Guy comes in to replace ice maker water valve  on the wall behind refrigerator and advises my 98 lb wife that he not supposed to move refrigerators, he is an average size man so anyway she struggles to do it and he did help at the end. Job quality is a 2 out of 5. apparently this guy did not bring the proper tools as evidence from the beat up nut on the new valve.

If I could give 0 stars I would. They showed up on an American Homeshield call to our home in McKinney Texas. They reset the temperature on both our water heaters when we were only having a problem with one. They broke the limit stop on the old water heater and blamed us. Now, a week later, we are having someone else give us a second opinion. Which will probably be that the limit stop is broken. They lied to me about how they left the temperature set on the unbroken water heater, which is how we discovered that they were the ones messing with the temperature. They are liars.

Home warranty called them to come check a leaking water heater after moving into a new house.  Serviceperson diagnosed it as a leak from the roof that was causing my WH's drain pan to overflow.  Okay, sure, not only was there no water on top of the unit, there was dust on top of the unit.  From their notes, Check W/H found stains on venting and top of WH from roof leak. Dryed pan, no leak detected at this time.  So somehow, the water from the leak must have magically flowed around the unit, defying the laws of physics, and somehow managed to roll down the side to fill the drain pan.  So weird that the drain pan again became full, even though it never rained.

After I complained of the incompetence of this non-diagnosis, warranty company sent out an actual useful plumber who determined that yes, in fact, the WH had sprung a leak.  When I asked him whether it could've been from a leaking roof, he gave me an incredulous look and confirmed that anyone who said this was from a leaking roof did not know what they were doing.  

Morale of this story: (1) Home warranties are useless; (2) Don't use J&K.

American home Shield set us up with this company and they were absolutely unprofessional, they did not perform correctly when they came and check for a leak in my place. American Home Sheild sent J&K Plumbing to my home a month ago to repair a leaky faucet. Now, the same faucet is leaking again, more like running water vs. leaking. The J&K receptionist, bless her heart, called to set up an appointment and mentioned that she would call us 15 prior to inform us their driver was IN ROUTE TO THE HOME...NOT WHEN HE WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY. Of course as soon as I stepped out to get my kid from the bus stop, the receptionist calls to say the plumber is AT my house waiting. I asked if he could wait 5 minutes or if I could let him inside, I have cameras all throughout the home, and she said NO. Ok, that's fair. Well guy left before I could get back to the house, and suggested that I pay a $75/service fee. Ummm...what service? You never entered the home and the faucet will still be leaking tomorrow. Furthermore, Ms. Receptionist got really snippy with me and said, we don't pay our plumbers to wait in the car. Well, well, RUDE LADY...I don't pay your plumbers to drive out to my home and leave without actually SERVICING the problems.

This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. They have no interest in providing customer service and outright lied to our home warranty company. Our hot water heat went out. J&K was assigned by American Home Shield. They did not contact us in a timely manner so we reached out to them directly, as instructed by AHS. The lady that answered the phone was extremely rude and informed us we'd get a call by 5pm. The same lady called us back much later that day to schedule the appointment for two days later. When the technician arrived, he inspected the hot water heater and said it was old and worn out. He advised that he would report the information to AHS and it would take at least 2 busy days to hear back. This was on a Thursday so this meant we'd be without hot water over the weekend. We called AHS to see if they could expedite the approval as we were without hot water since Monday night. We were informed that it was J&K who failed to submit the report. It took them 2 days to finally submit it. When they did, they put false information on it resulting in another delay. We had to get a second opinion from a different plumber. Who confirmed that the water heater was out to to normal wear and tear and not roof damage as improperly indicated by J&K. The new plumber got the assignment, inspection and report submitted and approved on the same business day.
I will NEVER use J&K for anything. We have requested that they be placed on our do not use list for the home warranty company. Reading the other reviews, this makes me think that this is the normal way they conduct business.
I would highly recommend using any other company than J&K unless you want to deal with rudeness, lies and delays. They should be ashamed of the way they conduct business.

I would have given negative stars if I could.  AHS sent this company out.  They did not offer any service for my hot water heater.  The representative initially came out and said the City of Plano must have adjusted my water pressure and was the reason we were not getting hot water.  I contacted AHS again and they sent this company again.  The representative then said I would have to run the dishwasher for the rest of the home to have hot water.  So infuriating!!  I am the original homeowner and have lived at my home for 20 years and know what hot water feels like.

I would like to give a negative star rating!
This business received our AHS contract.
They waited until Tuesday after I put in the service request on Friday to come out and reset our Rheem water heater and said call us if it's still not working.

I called back - 4x! I spent an hour on hold with AHS to find out they apparently don't service Rheem water heaters.

So we are facing a Christmas with highs in the 40's & 50's without hot water. We have been without hot water for over a week because of these scum bags!

They could have told us the day they came out they don't service Rheem water heaters  but NO - they had to wait and BS until Friday. I'm not sure if they are evil, inept or just enjoying being Grinches!

They are the worst! Go ANYWHERE else but here!!!!

I'm surprised with some of these reviews. We've had to call J&K for 3 different issues over the last few years - latest one today. Jake did a fantastic job today fixing our bathroom plumbing issue.  Their crew has always been responsive and professional- and didn't try to up sell.

AHS sent J&k out for a second opinion on our kitchen faucet. First plumber said the faucet wasn't meant to swivel, J&K says the faucet is supposed to swivel, but they won't fix it because J&K says the faucet was sitting in water. I'm not sure how it is possible to have an attached faucet sit in water - physically, unless I have water on my counter - I don't. or I take it off my counter and put it in a bucket - in short it can't happen.
This is a scam company working in collusion with AHS warranty to avoid any claims - they come out, grab your $75 and lie to you. Don't deal with them!!

This was hands down the worst experience I have had in dealing with an American Home Shield service request.  The only thing I can say that was positive is that the service man was on time to the appointment.  Unfortunately punctuality doesn't solve Hot water heater issues.  I was chrystal clear on explaining the issue my family was experiencing with our hot water heater to the office administrator that fielded my service request.  It was made very clear that this was an american home shield service request.  Specifically that our water would no longer maintain hot temperatures as long as it typically does.  The Office secretary didn't have any follow up questions for me at that time and scheduled the service.  I was under the impression that the issue I was experiencing could be solved.  When The service man arrived he simply looked at the water heater said that you know that is pretty normal in the Fall asked me to sign the service contract and left.  I believe total time of the service was no more that 15 minutes from the time the guy arrived diagnosed the issue and left.  I wasn't given any recourse to solve the issues with the sediment build up in my water heater either.  I basically am left with a water heater that is under warranty and evidently working as it should.  I was so upset that I called American Home Shield and expressed they could have the $75 service fee, or they could keep me as a customer on contract but they couldn't have both.  If you have AHS and put in a plumbing request and this is the company allocated to you don't walk the other direction RUN.

J & K Plumbing is hands-down the worst company I have ever tried to work with!!! They were sent to my home after scheduling a warranty request through American Home Shield. I have had problems with this company in the past though, so I don't know why I was so surprised to have the same type of experience with them again. The time that I am referring to J & K Plumbing denied a claim at my house concerning problems with our water heater. However, the company that was sent to my house by American Home Shield in that instance for a second opinion, told me that my problem was covered under my AHS warranty, and they corrected the issue for me with no problems.

Going back to my current experience. I now have a water leak at my house. This was verified by the technician from J & K Plumbing while he was on the site today after he looked at the main water meter out by the street. However, rather than even coming into the house to try to see where it might be coming from, he left when I told him that I had an unpleasant conversation with Kathy over the phone on my way to the appointment from work. During that conversation with Kathy (J & K's office lady), she told me that the technician had been waiting for 5 minutes at the house, and that if I was only 3-4 minutes away from the house like I told her, that they could wait the extra 3-4 minutes, she guessed. Long story short, as I said, the technician refused to come into the house and left saying that they would call American Home Shield to have a different company come out to our house for the leak. Every time I have dealt with this company they have been rude, impolite, non-courteous, and down-right unprofessional! I am not sure how a company that repeatedly demonstrates this level of unprofessionalism remains in business, but I hope that whoever reads this review will steer clear from this company in the future to avoid any problems like what I have experienced with them.

2nd time we had this company come out to do plumbing work.  This was through our American Home shield warranty.  Both times we had the sweet tentative front office help!  5 stars for her professional and sweet spirit.  The Technician has come out before and 5 stars for his help.  very professional company here to do the work and not try to sell you a bunch of extras. definitely worth the call if you need a reputable plumbing company!  #J&Kplumbing McKinney Tx.

Please read the ratings for this company and know that there is a trend for a reason.

They are truly the worst company I've ever had to deal with. I had a leak in a pipe and they didn't even dig a hole and determined it to be outside the foundation, which isn't covered by a home warranty company. No big deal, so I called two other plumbers to get quotes and after the first dug a bike, determined the leak was inside the slab. The next plumber concurred. So, I decided to call J&k back which is just a complete hassle trying to schedule anything with them.

They did eventually come back days later as my water continues to leak. He said that it's a gray area and that it's really outside the slab still. Again, didn't visualize the pipe as it had filled back up with water and mud.

I had the first plumber I called myself come back out and make the repair with the hole being 6 inches within the slab, I have no idea how that is gray area.

I would avoid this company at all cost.

The WORST company I have ever dealt with. They were racist. They did not want to talk to my mother in law that spoke a bit of English. He didn't even want to hear her as she was trying to tell him I'm one minute away. I stopped his van outside and he didn't even want to give me the time of day. I called the office and they said you are in US and need to speak English. If that is a prerequisite, they need to communicate that ahead of time. They don't dare because that will go on there record. WHAT A SHAME!

AHS contracted us with this company also.  If you work full time or need a Saturday service call, lots of luck!!  They never called me to schedule, I had to call them. And then it was a week wait. The lady that schedules appointments is very rude and did not do ANYTHING to try to work with my schedule. I went through this same scenario twice. Won't a third time!  AHS connected me with another plumber over a hour away. They are coming in 2 days and it's even a Saturday!

I'm AHS customer. Only I can tell you that they are big time scammers, do not deal with this company.I had deal with many other vendors in the past but I got the most worst service from J & K PLUMBING in my life time. My bathroom sink is dripping water and I called them 3 months ago, still it has not been fixed yet. Every time I called they said we ordered a parts and made a new story everyday,.Also I already paid $100 service trade fee but still waiting for the service to replace the faucet which another cost $400 have to pay from my packet. I will request again, not to waste your money and time to deal with this type of scammers big time fraud company. Thanks

Jake from J&K Plumbing was SO helpful! This is the second time AHS has paired us with J&K Plumbing (two unrelated issues, months apart) and I will be requesting them from now on. Not only did Jake fix the problem I called about, he adjusted the pipes to fix a drainage problem on the other side of our sink. Every time I've worked with him, he fixes the issue AND educates me about what caused the issue or just general 'good to know' info. He also recommended a couple of products that could help us in the future. HIGHLY recommend J&K Plumbing and shoutout to Jake in particular! THANK YOU! (Oh and they were able to get me in THAT morning and he was super prompt.)

I guess my opinion of J&K Plumbing concurs with everyone else. I too contacted AHS to make a claim of a leak under my kitchen sink. Plumber came out and fixed the leak at the water valve under the sink. That same night our kitchen floor flooded so we called back to schedule the plumber to come out to see what happened. 2 days later he showed up and said he did not cause the second leak (it was leaking inside of our kitchen wall behind our dishwasher - whatever the plumber did caused the pipe to burst open), its from the water pressure coming into our home from outside from the City?? Never been a problem before until he fixed the first leak, and of course AHS will not cover his mistake. I have the home warranty service because I am an elderly disabled man and am not able to fix these problems myself. I have to call a legit plumber to come out and fix the problem this yahoo caused! Needles to say I will be canceling my services with AHS

This is the worst company to do business with. America Home Sheild (AHS) has this company as their main vendor for plumbing. Don't do business with AHS or J&K Plumbing. I don't recommend AHS or this plumbing company J&K.  They took 4 days to call me back and another 3 days to send a report to AHS. AHS called back after 8 days and refused to pay for the repairs said that it is a pre-existing condition. I did not see this in the contract.

This is the worse company ever! I had to use them because I went through AHS insurance. They came to my home on 12/8/20 and since I had not heard from them in almost 4 weeks, I called to get a status update and was treated sarcastically and rudely for trying to follow up on a timeline, Also, when the technician was here he wore a mask and I told him not to be too worried since I had traveled several times in early fall and my daughter (who works at the White House) was coming home for Christmas so I had to get two Covid tests before she would come home, both were negative, and I had the antibodies. I said this to assure him he did not need to worry about exposure at my home. He then reported to his company I told him I had Covid twice so I was told when I called he didn't want to come back out anyway because I had Covid!!!!!! In hindsight, the technicians are in and out of homes all day, I guess I should have been more worried about him having Covid.

This was my 1st experience with J&K.  The tech arrived timely and he determined that the part needed to be replace.  He stated that it would take about a week for the part to arrive.  After a week, I called back to check status and Kathy said that the tech was mistaken and she advised me it would take 2 weeks are so.  Its been almost a month so today I requested an update and I mentioned the time table they provided and Kathy got rude saying she told me that she would call when the part came in.   This type of customer service is totally unacceptable and I will not do business with them in the future.  I have been inconvenienced for almost a month but they have a bad attitude because I asked for an update.

Absolutely do not work with this company. Office staff as well as in home service reps are so rude. Told us when making the appointment we would get a call when the tech was on the way to our home approximately 15-30 minutes before arriving. The dispatcher called at 9:09 AM and said the driver was at the property and no one was answering. I explained that was expecting a call from them letting them know they were on their way, but didn't receive their call/message and I was at a class with my daughter and I could be home in 7-10 minutes. Kathy was the woman on the phone and she is extremely rude. Told me that my husband  was a liar for letting me know they'd give 30 minutes notice. The same woman then told me I should drive faster (despite having a 2 year old with me) so her plumber could get to his next job. We are talking about a 5 minute drive and she acts as if we just cost her plumber 3 days of work. Do yourself a favor and find a company that actually cares about their customers!

They haven't even begun work and this might be the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with.

Do not confuse people's dissatisfaction with American Home Shield and J&K Plumbing!  We recently had an issue with our disposal. They called and scheduled the appointment AND confirmed approximately 20 minutes before the techs arrived.  The techs were professional, friendly and went above and beyond what I expected. They took the time to explain a few other items that I had questions about AND my disposal now works perfectly!!  I would not call any other plumber in the future. Thank you, J&K, for your integrity and professional service!!

We were buying a house and they were contracted to repair an incorrect installation of a water heater vent through the roof.  2 months later, the water heater failed and they were sent out by our home warranty.  J&K's plumber said the heater repair was not covered because the vent was leaky (the vent they were supposed to have repaired 2 months previously)  then denied they ever did the original repair even though we had a copy of the receipt that shows the repair on it! PLUS they sprayed flammable foam around the vent when they repaired it!  Then said that we must have done that after they repaired the vent!!  BEWARE!

This is the worse experienced with a company associated with my home warranty. The first time the company was called to my residence, the technician replaced some parts on the water heater and said it was an electrical issue, and that I needed to replace the breaker in the electrical panel. I had a certified electrician replace the breaker and do a check of all of electrical components tied to the water heater. We continued to have issues with the water heater. Placed a recall on the ticket for them to come back out. One of the owners called me (Kathy of J & K) and proceed to tell me it wasnt my water heater (this is before the technician was even onsite to assess). I was then told that a there was no way that it was the water heater and that she was going to have a electric company called after her tech came onsite. Her tech then came onsite and discovered a internal water leak in the tank, and that the electric lead was submerged in the water electrifying the water itself (stating that he cant believe he missed it the first time). The techs report back to American Home Shield only stated internal water leak and needs to be replaced. I dont want any other customers to be potentially placed in this dangerous situation (so DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY). Also, the fact that the owner of J & K lectured me, argued with me, and stated that it was everything but the water heater is absolutely uncalled for, and goes against any business ethics 101.

These guys are great and got the job done. AHS sent them out, and sometimes, depending on your contract AHS, they may hav their hands tied. Once i had a new faucet to replace, they did the job, professionally, in under 30 minutes!!

AHS assigned us J&K plumbing and they advised it can take up to 24 hours to be scheduled by J&K. We called J&K directly prior to the 24 hours, and they were able to get us scheduled 2 days out with a 3 hour dispatch window. The morning of the appointment, I received another call directly from J&K advising Mr. Dustin will be dispatched. Mr. Dustin arrived within 30 minutes, he asked what the issue was, went straight to troubleshoot the issue, and explained the issue to us. Mr. Dustin had our replacement unit on hand, replaced it fast as NASCAR (maybe 15 mins tops) and had us operational again. He was very professional, and to the point. Which you don't find these days! Thank you for the prompt execution to get us operational. We appreciate J&K very much!

I had a great experience with J&K. Our shower faucet handle broke off after I turned it on so we couldn't shut the water off. So, we needed a new faucet cartridge and handle. We worked with American Homeshield to get J&K out to our house. The technician was on-time, wore a mask, was polite, communicated throughout the repair with me, showed me what he did, cleaned up, and tested it before he left. All this was done in less than an hour! We have our shower back! I would highly recommend J&K!

J&K is the contractor that AHS assigns, and they have to be the worst plumber I've ever experienced.  I have been a rental property owner/manager for over 25 years and am not unexperienced with plumbing issues.  

J & K plumbing supposedly fixed a issue with a leaking valve in an upstairs bath.   The first time it was used we noticed water damage on the ceiling downstairs.

When called back to resolve, they said there was no leak.  I was aghast. We're looking at the water damage, and the tech is stating there is no leak.

Do not use this company, you will be sorry.

Shower faucet needed a new cartridge. AHS assigned J and K after hours on Thursday. Called early Friday morning, came out early Friday afternoon. Fixed the problem, in and out in under 15 minutes. Wore gloves & masks, were polite and courteous, cleaned up and left things in perfect condition. Thanks Dustin and Beau!

American Home Shield set us up with J&K Plumbing for a leaky toilet.
They called me this morning.
I scheduled a time frame from 11am-3pm.
Office staff called me at 12:30, tech on his way. I left work and headed home, normally a 10-12 minute drive.
At 12:50 she called me to advise the tech is at my door, no one answering. I explained I was like 2 seconds away as I was literally about to turn on my street.
She very rudely responded if you were 2 seconds away you would be there already
She was rude, abrupt and impolite.
For the record- unusual construction zone that wasn't present this morning delayed me.
But a call at 12:30 advising 15 minutes out a call at 12:50 to advise he was leaving! I guess 5 minutes was too much.

When I arrived in front of my home the tech was writing a slip to put on my front door. I explained she called me at 12:30. I got stuck in unforeseen construction(future reference I will start saying I need 1 hour notice)! He argued with me and said she called me at 12:27. My phone, everyone's phone time stamps! It was 12:30. But 3 minutes? Really!!!!

The wax seal needed replaced. He did the work quick. Upon leaving he advised me excessive use of a plunger causes damage. I advised we don't use it excessively. He replied the plunger is right there so obviously it's used. Had an argumentative tone to his voice.
I didn't feel a need to explain myself any further. Though for explanation, this is an older home- things do wear down over time! And yes, doesn't everyone have a plunger in their home? So I keep mine by the toilet. Where else should it be? The kitchen counter so I am not questioned ???

They do not take credit cards. With American Home Shield I have a $75 copy.
Cash only! Nope, not this girl. So they can say they never received it.

Called American Home Shield- made my payment to them and noted my account to use a different plumber in the future!

Dustin came and quickly solved a problem that several others could not. There are drain issues to be avoided with a little routine maintenance if you have bathrooms not used regularly and the AC condensation drains into that bathroom line. How would I have known that?  Thank you, Dustin.

Just bought a house in McKinney. Saw that water was leaking from the fridge yesterday, and the valve wasn't working to turn the water off. Called J and K as they'd been out to do something with this brand new fridge. It sounds like it's the same problem that they were supposed to have fixed. They refused to go back to look at it. They said it's a home warranty issue.

Do NOT use this business. Our homeowner's warranty company sent them to our house to get rid of a sewer smell in the shower drain.  He ran hot water through it and said that running the snake would do no good.  He charged us and left.  Smell lingered.  Warranty company sent them back, but they called to say that the warranty wouldn't cover a smell, and it would be more than double the fee for their return.  We have asked the warranty company to remove them from their supplier list.  Underhanded and lazy.

Do not use this company if you would like to actually get your problem fixed! I was assigned this company through AHS to fix a toilet leak, the plumber walked into the bathroom kicked the toilet and told be that it's a flooring issue. He acknowledged the flooring a fairly new and but the toilet moved a little and he can't do anything and to call AHS again to fix the floor. And the paper work he gave me didn't mention anything of what he reported to AHS. He told them that our floors had cracks and were uneven. I called AHS to ask to get a 2nd opinion and the new company came fixed the problem which turn out to be a wax seal issue.

Do NOT use J&K plumbing they are professional scammers. Do yourself a favor and read the reviews before you allow them to step foot in your house. American home shield uses them in the Dallas area. They are notorious for shifty plumbing work then placing the blame on you which leaves you out of pocket to fix their faulty work. I wish I would have listened to the reviews before I used them but don't let my story be yours. If it were possible to give 0 stars that would still be better than they deserve. J&K pluming stands for Just Kidding we didn't fix it plumbing.

WORST company EVER!  AHS also sent this company out to service my plumbing issue. This company scammed me and, by the looks of all the one star reviews, this seems to be the M.O. of this business. Do actual plumbers even work at J&K? Honestly, this company should be called JOKE. I have never experienced such horrible customer service. The man I spoke with insisted someone came to my home. Yes, they did, they left a note on the front door, but they NEVER KNOCKED! So bizarre. Why would you come to my home and not knock on the door??? Oh yeah, so you can collect the $75 service fee for doing NOTHING! The man on the phone was so condescending and rude. This company is the reason I am cancelling my AHS warranty. It was painful to give this company even one star!

The worst company ever!!!!!!  I'm serious... I was referred to this company through American Home Shield (AHS).. Had two different technicians come out to elevate a leak in a water pressure line. However, due to the fact the water line ran from my 2nd floor down to the 1st floor of where the leak was occurring; the techincians  tried to first convince me the leak was from the A/C drain line.. The A/C repairman came out and did a dye test on the drain which passed as no drain problem.. After explaining this to the tech; the tech then tried to explain the problem could not be addressed due to some carpentry work!!!..  Absolutely unbelievable!!!! The tech looked at me while explaining this process and couldn't believe the utter silliness he was saying himself!!!! I put this dude out with no delay!!  I don't not write reviews ever!!!!  However, I had to write this review because this has to be noted to put customers on notice to BEWARE of this company by all means!!

THE WORST you can ever imagine! They called me to set up an appointment and I requested a 30 minutes notice. On the day of appointment they called me at 12:50 PM and told me their tech is on his way. At 1:09 PM (19 minutes later) they called me and told me that the tech left my house because no one was there! I said I requested a 30 minutes notice and talked to the owner of the company about the issue but she was rude and disrespectful. She said they cannot keep exact time and they need to pay their plumber by the hour! (REALLY NOW?!), I got home at 1:12 PM (22 minutes after the initial call) and faced a bill for the service request! ***STAY AWAY from this company*** They are liars and only after collecting the service fees. READ OTHER REVIEWS if you don't believe me!

UNPROFESSIONAL & HORRIBLE - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT TO USE AT ALL COSTS.  It has been over 5 weeks from my 1st call to AHS.  They assigned me J&K Plumbing.  Well, to try and make this short, I provided my service fee over 5 weeks ago, and not only do not have my issue resolved with my hot water heater, I am exactly at the same place I was 5 weeks ago.  My story is so long, that I can't detail it here... But the scheduling lady is curt, bordering on rude, and dismissive at best.  The technicians don't communicate well.  Every touch point has been extremely poor and unprofessional.  And after having them scheduled by AHS three times over the last couple of years, I will never have them again as long as I live.  I have now contacted AHS and filed a complaint to not only ever have them again at my house, but I hope that AHS never subjects this unprofessional company of J&K Plumbing on anyone else!  I have started two companies and I'm dumbfounded how this company continues to exist...

DO NOT CALL J&K PLUMBING FOR ANYTHING!!!!!!!  Unfortunately, since we are renters and our homeowner has an American Home Shield warranty our leaking bathroom faucet was sent to J&K Plumbing for repair.  Our work order was submitted on 5/6 and we were told by our property manager that J&K Plumbing would contact us within 24 hours to schedule an appt.  After waiting 24 hours I called J&K Plumbing to schedule the appt.  The woman (who is obviously a 1 woman show in the office) told me that the scheduler would be calling me soon.  At approximately 5pm on 5/8 the same woman with J&K Plumbing called me to schedule an appt. for the following day.  Two plumbers came to our house to evaluate the leak and advised me that they would have to order a part.  After waiting and waiting and waiting I finally reached out to the property manager again to find out why the plumber had not contacted us to complete the repair.  At that time I find out that the J&K Plumbing had told the property manager that the repair had already been completed.  After another call to J&K Plumbing by our property manager we are told that the part was ordered and we would be contacted very soon to schedule the repair.  Today is 6/7 and I have yet to be contacted to have the sink repaired.  The receptionist at J&K Plumbing continues to tell me that the part could take 4-6 weeks to come in... I am sorry but when Amazon and several other companies can ship in 2 days 4-6 weeks for a replacement part is NOT acceptable.  Sadly it appears that this is par for the course for this company.
