I can't say enough good things about Greenwave! They do quality, reliable work; they respond quickly; they're personable and clear about the work they're doing; and their prices are reasonable! Highly, highly recommend them. They'll be doing all my plumbing work from now on!

How hard is it to install a hot water heater?  3 years later this is our story:

Greenwave came out and replaced our hot water heater.

1) The tank support was a little wobbly, we overlooked the sloppiness.

2) They made connections with PVC + epoxy on the supply lines.  Turns out all of the PVC has since sprung leaks due to water pressure.

3) The weird smell in the room above the hot water we couldn't figure out for years.  Turned out they did not properly vent the hot water heater (the vent was 6+ inches away from the exhaust outlet).   Very unsafe carbon monoxide risk!

Mike is great! I had a few leaky faucets in a new house that I moved into and he was able to come out the same day to help fix them at an affordable price point.

Just had some work done in my bathroom off the kitchen. Will was amazing and so accommodating. I had a work schedule change and was called into work. He came at 6:45am so I could get to work on time. I used to use Radiant but will only use Greenwave from now on. Excellent service and company, highly recommend. BTW, my dog is very particular about people and she LOVED him. That tells you something !!!

Be aware of this company, I contacted them to fix my water heater, from the beginning they only wanted to replace instead of trying to fix it, but I told them I wanted to fix the water heater not replace it. Their diagnosis was that I needed to replace the thermocouple. The person trying to fix it was watching youtube videos about how to replace it, they obviously did not know how to do it and this is suppose to be an easy replacement. The water heater was working, but after their failed attempt to fix it, it did not work at all. They made the problem worse and left us several days without hot water. Later they gave me a quote of over $2,000 just to replace the water heater, after asking them if that included the permits and inspection that everybody is required to get from the county, they told me that if I wanted the replacement done with permit and inspection it would be an additional $250.

We've been using Greenwave Plumbing and could not be happier. They are professional, communicate well and charge a fair price for their services. I'm pretty decent with chores around the house, but I know my limitations and when to call in the professionals and Greenwave fits the bill. I would recommend them to anyone needing plumbing services in their home. A+ 5 Stars!

Mike is super knowledgeable and professional.  We had a pretty complex set up with a free-standing bathtub, and a couple other guys turned down the job.  I was really happy to find Greenwave to accept the job.  Mike showed up with a positive can-do attitude, and even though it took a couple of return trips and a few different parts, I am happy to report everything is now working perfectly.
Taylor is also friendly and courteous and makes scheduling a breeze.
I look forward to recommending Greenwave to my friends and family and using Greenwave again should the occasion arise.

Pex plumbing installed by Greenwave made it through the single digit temperatures during the Texas snowstorm in February. Not a busted pipe anywhere. We had no power for 3 days during the hard freeze and no way to heat the pipes.

We moved to Austin a couple of years ago and the service we have received from Greenwave has been consistently first class each and every time.  Today their service technician, Will, flushed our tankless water heater. He took his time, was incredibly respectful of our property, explained exactly what he was doing and answered every one of my questions. In short, a real pro. What a pleasure.

I had problems with my water heater. I called a few competitors and was very disappointed. When I looked at the reviews that Greenwave had on yelp, I was cautiously optimistic. Well, in scheduled a time for these guys to come out, they made it right on time, they were honest and courteous.
I put of the repair for three months, when I finally did it the laid out all the options, the reasoning why they recommended the different options and then left it up to me to make a decision without the sales pressure. I went with the most affordable option and hoped that this would fix the problem, it did.
Mike and his team are true professionals. Next plumbing job that is needed in either one of my houses, Greenwave is the only call I will make.

Just a quick note about my most recent experience with Greenwave Plumbing. We had a faulty meter that was leaking gas outside my house, and after Texas Gas Service shut off the gas, they said they wouldn't be able to install a new meter until we had a plumber identify a nearby pipe. We called a number of plumbers to see if someone could take a look at it, and within minutes Taylor contacted me to check if any plumbers were in the vicinity. Less than 10 minutes later, Will showed up at my house and he was able to figure out that the pipe was not being used and put a cap on it. All told, this took a few minutes, although Will was thorough, and when he finished he told me there was no charge because it was such a simple operation. I'm impressed by how he and the company look out for their customers.

We had a water leak in our front yard. The City water came out and informed us we were using 2 gallons a min.  Greenwave Plumbing was called and they came out to find out the issue and fix the problem. I had the pleasure of meeting both the father and son who own the company. They are very kind and professional. The leak was found and repaired quickly.
They made my experience a positive one in a stressful time.
I would recommend Greenwave Plumbing to anyone!
Thanks
Carrie

Mike Thigpen is an extremely reputable and honest plumber. Mike never cuts corners and is extremely helpful to homeowners he serves. He is quick to respond and buys only quality products to install when working on a problem. If I have a plumbing problem in the future, I know Greenwave will be the first company I will call!

Mike is excellent. Prompt, professional, and most importantly he knows what he is doing. I had a problem with my tankless water heater.  Mike came and diagnosed it and had the part ordered.  He did not request any payment until he came back to finish the job. I would highly recommend him.

Green Wave was awesome and professional and I highly recommend them.  For starters, they were able to get me on the schedule the same day I called them, which was a nightmare due to the Holidays for some odd reason (I'm talking about some of them being booked till 2nd week of January) Well, one of the companies that I called was Lanier, who then referred me to Green Wave, and thus, my short journey began.

They called me up to confirm as well as give me an estimate and other possible estimates depending on possible problems that are linked to what I asked for.  When they got to my house, not only did they remove and replace what I needed, they asked me if it was okay to replace another part which was corroded and even gave me the price...with all these horror stories of contractors replacing then telling them about the extra cost, I thought it was really honest.  They were in and out in a snap!  Definitely would do business with them again!

I discovered a leak and they were able to respond and have it fixed in the same afternoon I called. Excellent service and a very professional response. Rates were beyond fair in that they went extra steps to ensure my problem was solved. I would definitely recommend them.

Sadly we had two leaks this year and Greenwave helped with both of them (totally unrelated to each other). I wrote a review back in May highly recommending them and thought I wouldn't need another plumber for a while. Well I was wrong. At the end of October one of our two hot water heaters in the attic failed and caused nearly 100K in damage to our home. After almost two months, we are back in the house and Mike and Will came out today to remediate the problem with the water heaters since all of the structural work is finally completed.

I asked Mike to make a suggestion to me based on the problems we have had with the damned water heaters in the attic (not sure who ever thought that was a good idea). Mike suggested having a custom drain pan constructed so that he could put both hot water heaters, the recirculation pump and an alarm and shut off valve all together in this pan. The installation went great.

What sets these guys apart (besides being very competent plumbers) is that when he got the two water heaters up in the attic ready to hook up he realized that the supply house gave him one that is the most current version (more efficient) and the other was brand new but was last year's edition. He pointed that out to me (unlike one of the contractors that we sadly do our downstairs bathroom, who screwed everything up) and asked me what I wanted to do as he wanted my wife and I to be happy. I felt bad but I asked him to take the 2016 model back and get the new model as that was what I thought I was paying for. He sent Will to do the swap (the error was NOT his but the supply house) and when I was apologizing to him for being a pain in the ass he replied don't apologize.. we do this since we are the good guys. That pretty much sums up Greenwave Plumbing. You might pay a little more but trust me, you get what you pay for. If you live in Westlake like me, you have invested a ton of money in your home. If you need a plumber call Eddie and get one of the guys from Greenwave to come to your home, you will never call a different plumber again as these guys are truly the best I have ever encountered after nearly 30 years of home ownership.

Simply the best. Period.

Mike at Greenwave came out to my house, assessed the problem and gave me an estimate to replace all the gas pipes in the house.  Shortly thereafter, he and his team replaced all the gas pipes. Mike explained the city permitting procedure and I knew exactly what to do. All my gas appliances are up and running! Thanks to Greenwave...

So........I had what I would call a hot water heater emergency and I called Greenwave and Eddie walked me through everything to try to remedy situation till a driver could come out. He even had me send pictures and was very patient even though I was freaking out. Even when the technician Mike came out, he was very pleasant and knowledgeable about what was going on. I felt more comfortable with this company, than I did with the company that the warranty people sent out. I would definitely recommend this company.

We recently had a water leak from a pipe inside a wall behind our bathroom.  Based on a recommendation from a neighborhood site, we called Mike Thigpen with Greenwave Plumbing.  Mike returned our call very quickly.  After explaining the situation and that we were having issues turning off the water from the meter, Mike quickly responded while he was on his way to another job nearby.  He turned off the water to the house and made arrangements to return following his next job but he wasn't sure how long that job would take.  However, he promised to call and let us know as soon as he could determine how long the other job would take.  Within 30 minutes Mike called us back and scheduled for a couple of hours later.  Mike returned as promised and quickly diagnosed the location and cause of the leak, fixed it with minimal impact to the existing sheet rock, and got us in touch with a water remediation company that could actually respond that night despite the significant demand on those businesses in the wake of the Texas floods.  All of this for a very reasonable price.

I can't say enough about Mike and Greenwave Plumbing.  In what was an emergency to us, Mike came through.  Additionally, he was very respectful of our house and being very clean and efficient.  He also happened to know a co-worker of mine that he used to live next door to and asked me to say hello to them.

While the job itself wasn't rocket surgery for a good plumber, Mike's courtesy and promptness will have us coming back with any plumbing needs long into the future.

I called Greenwave and they were able to come out for a non-emergency on the same day. Not only that, they were able to fix my problem for less than they had originally quoted. All involved were kind, professional and went above and beyond. I'm very grateful to have found Greenwave and will use them again for any of my plumbing needs.

We needed a plumber when we were building our house a few years ago and met Mike by coincidence.  That meeting turned out to be the best thing. We have used his services for several years now and he is always there when you need him. He is the most honest and reliable plumber we know and provides high quality service which can be hard to find in a small town.   We recommend him any time we can.

The plumber came out and got the leak repaired in in a about an hour, so that is good. They didn't mention the $350.00 fee to just show up until the job was complete, which is high compared to most. It has rained and the yard is soaked but the hole was left a mess. They could have put the removed dirt on the driveway 2' away but instead threw it in the yard so it cannot be reused, the hole is only half filled and mud is all over the area of the yard. Not the best priced, or neatest, but got the job done.

I bought a house in Round Rock which had a recent $15,610 tunneling job done by Greenwave plumbing.  Within 2 years of this job the pipes which they installed collapsed under the house.  Greenwave refused to go out and look at the problem (or do anything).  So I hired another plumber who verified that the Greewave work was not done correctly to city code.  Hangers were not used to brace the pipes as required by law.  The Inspection Services Division of the City of Round Rock was on-site and verified that Greenwave blew it.  I just called up Greenwave and asked them politely to please redo their job.  They were rude to me and hung up.  The City of Round Rock will now report Greenwave to the State of Texas.  Maybe they will lose their license?  I hope so.  Hire Greenwave at your own risk.  If I could give them zero stars I would.  $15,610 is a huge amount of money to waste, not to mention the stress this bad plumbing job has caused.

I called Greenwave because of great yelp reviews and Eddie picked up the phone. I moved into a brand new house about 6 months ago and was concerned because we are getting some very cold weather and my kitchen refrigerator is plumbed on an outside wall. I was worried about the water intake pipe that feeds the ice maker/ water dispenser freezing. Eddie spent a good 30 minutes talking through how the plumbing system is likely set up; things I can do to keep water moving through the system so it doesn't freeze (i.e. empty the ice bucket so that the automatic ice dispenser has to work most of the night to make ice which will keep the system dripping.) He explained the advantages of the type of pipe my builder used ('PEX' rather than copper) which is more flexible than copper and less likely to burst even if water does freeze. He also felt that because the home is rated with a very high energy efficiency, they probably put plenty of insulation in the walls. He agreed to come out and look at the insulation and plumbing layout if I was really worried about it, but suggested that I contact my builder first and see if I could get any plumbing layout plans, insulation information etc. I was just very impressed with how much time he spent on the phone with me even though there was no payment for him.  This is clearly a guy that cares a lot about the customer, and if I have a plumbing problem or I am not satisfied with the answers I get from the builder - I am calling Eddie to check things out.

Let me start off by saying that my rating would be a perfect five stars, if only their schedule wasn't so busy that they couldn't get me on their schedule docket for two days from my initial call about a kitchen sink drain clog that I had for days. With that being said, the service of their plumbing representative, Mike Thigpen, couldn't have been any better. So, truly, I would give them 4 1/2 stars if Yelp would let me.

I live in Kyle and Mike called me from his previous appointment in Austin after 4:30PM to let me know he was coming my way next. If anyone knows about highway traffic in Austin, I went ahead to assume he wouldn't be at my house for at least 45 minutes. Mike got there before 5PM. How he did that, I'll never know. After introductions, he came into my kitchen to assess the clog issue. He didn't hard sell me on anything and told me very quickly what he needed to do. He then told me exactly the cost of what I was looking at, which was below $150. I'll tell you, from a similar past experience with a different plumbing company, the same issue and resolution to the issue cost nearly $300, which I felt was quite overpriced. For that reason along, I promised I would never call another plumbing company unless it was the very last resort. Well, I'd have to say that I do not feel that way, anymore...that is, if I'm dealing with Greenwave Plumbing.

Mike brought his machine equipment into the kitchen and managed to resolve the issue within about 15 to 20 minutes. He then went on to give me a bottle of an all natural enzymes based chemical solution that would help me and my family keep that drain unclogged for quite some time to come. He even said that he would rather get the problem totally fixed than to leave thinking that everything is okay and we have clogging problems later, resulting in another charged service call. That is integrity that is not often shown in today's customer service areas, which is very much appreciated.

Seeing that I was Mike's last service call for the day, before he left, he got a chance to tell me how important good customer service is to him. It was not fluff, or just something to make me feel good about my experience. It was heartfelt, and it eventually led to us talking about and sharing our convictions and Godly faith. We actually spent 20 minutes after he had completed the service talking about all of this.

So, if this is the kind of man/woman that you're looking for to help you out with a plumbing issue, and this is the kind of service and costs that you're seeking...I would tell you that you should strongly consider using Greenwave Plumbing. I will, if needed, in the future.

Eddie did a wonderful job of explaining to us what the issues were and the options we had to fix them.  He answered all of our questions and did not give us the run around.  The service was fast, friendly, and cost effective.  If you need plumbing work done Eddie and the guys are your men!

I don't know anything about plumbing but my water bill was $ 230 which led to the discovery of a water pipe leak in my front yard. I called Greenwave Plumbing who assessed the problem and worked really hard into the night in really cold conditions until it was fixed. They charged $ 350 which I think is dirt cheap. I thought it would cost up to twice that amount. Anyway, I am really happy with the service and will use them again in the future.

I called this company because my neighbor recommended them.  My sink was clogged and I wasn't in the mood to deal with it.  They came when they said they would, charge $99.00 just as they said they would, they were prompt, efficient, clean and neat.  Its hard to find a company now a days that doesn't try to up sell you and has integrity.  I highly recommend them.

I ended up calling Greenwave after I was disappointed with the company our First American Home Warranty had sent out. The guy turned off the water at the street because the shut off valve on the water heater leaked and we just kept on losing water. The rep was rude and started quoting code requirements that I knew were not applicable to my area. I called some builder friends of mine and one of the plumbers I spoke with, who was too busy to get to me gave me Michael Thigpen's number. Michael came out and gave me an estimate. Said he could go back to his shop and get a unit and installed later that evening. By then we had been out of water for two days. That's because the first contractor and our warranty company left us high and dry. Michael came back later that day and installed the unit and ended up walking out of there at 8 pm. Eddie who works the phones and takes the appointment called me several times to give me updates on when Michael would be getting to the house. I couldn't have asked for better service.
