Wow! So glad I found Baker Brothers! I had a gas line on a kitchen stove that needed replacing. Two companies I called never returned my calls. One company said they were not comfortable doing the repair and another company wanted to charge me $800 just to come out and look at the problem. Absolutely ridiculous! Baker Brothers was able to schedule me next day which I was shocked! Ryan was our tech and he was fantastic! Did the repair with zero hiccups. And, best of all I didn't pay nowhere near $800 that the other company quoted me without even seeing it.

These employees work off commission, so if you want an honest worker to give you an honest diagnosis I would avoid baker brothers at all cost. I was quoted almost $900 to replace the CPU inside my furnace that is the communication devices between my thermostat and my AC unit. I was told it's no longer functional because when I recently had electrical work done it fried the CPU and it needs to be fully replaced. BUT was also told by replacing this equipment it may not fix this issue. So I could potentially be out $900 and still no AC.

The best part of my story is when I got an ACTUAL professional to give me a second opinion and he fixed the it all in under 15min.

His diagnosis: when I recently had electrical work done on my home, when power was turned back on the AC unit got power before the thermostat could reboot so they were no longer communicating. The ACTUAL professional went to my breaker box, turned off both A/C power and the closet where my furnace and thermostat get power from. He then restored power to the closet, waited for the thermostat to full reboot and then restored power to the AC unit and, viola, it worked!

I was warned about baker brothers, but was desperate as temperatures were reaching mid 80's, but I think god I stuck out a warm weekend and got someone who actually knew what they were doing! Wish I could get my $39 I was robbed back, but hopefully this review will prevent others from funding this pyramid scheme.

Our ac went out 2 months after we purchased it. It happened on a Saturday morning of Mother's day weekend. The weekend was ruined. We spent almost $20,000 for the best unit. We had to wait until Monday for a repairman to come out. He FINALLY arrived at 9:30 pm.
Absolutely ridiculous! It was a problem with a drainage pan that was installed on the wrong side. I THOUGHT this was a reputable company but We are sorry we chose them.

30,000$. Got your attention? Paid this out of pocket and it led to more issues. They have lied to me, they broke things, they will not send the necessary documents to my insurance as I was told they would. I could write forever but I don't want to waste my fingers on a keyboard for them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

RUN FROM THESE CRIMINALS! We had an appointment scheduled with them to check our gas lines before we had our gas turned on. Just to check if there's leaks because we just moved in. Everywhere online and other quotes we got said $75-$100 for a test. These fools come 8 hours LATE and tried to tell us that it's $700!!!! For a pressure test of lines in our attic! Criminals! I told them from the first phone call on what we needed. If it was this much I would tell them they're crazy and not waste our time.
Read the rest of their reviews. Stop supporting this business with no integrity. A million honest plumbers out there. I told them to go take a hike. Crooks.

Had a leak coming from underneath the kitchen sink and was able to call and get someone to come take a look within the hour! Super well organized - you can even track where your technician is at on a map, and they send you a bio and photo so you know who to expect!

Had to end up replacing my sink strainer and was quoted ~$400 but the peace of mind and job well done was well worth it.

Also really liked how the technician put on protective plastic over his shoes when coming in. He was cordial, clean, and extremely efficient (shoutout to Leland)

Would highly recommend

Wow, it's amazing the difference you get from one review company to another. This company has a terrible rating on Yelp (as you can see) but when you go to Google, which is where I did my search for A/C companies, their rating is 4.9 stars with over 12,000 reviews. I'm glad I looked on Google first because my experience was great.

I had two other A/C companies come to our house prior to calling Baker Brothers. One company I used in our prior home for over 3 years (Lex Air) and another company I found based on recommendations from Nextdoor (Medley Heat & Air Conditioning). Lex Air is absolutely garbage now (I will put my thoughts under my review for them but, short story, DON'T use them!) and Medley Heat & Air was good, but when they told us it was going to cost almost $50k to replace our A/C (including duct work) and that they offer financing through Synchrony, but it was unlikely we would get approved for the entire cost to replace the A/C, we had to call another company.

Having replaced our two A/C's last year in our prior home, we knew this was going to be a costly endeavor. When we replaced the units in our prior home, we were able to get 0% financing for 5 years. We don't have tens of thousands of dollars in cash laying around, so in order to get our A/C's replaced we were going to have to get some extended financing. Another company I work with told me they use Baker Brothers for electric so I decided to call them for an estimate on the A/C. They were able to get someone to come out the next day and the technician, Steve, was great. He sat us down and showed us the 5 different options for A/Cs, as well as the cost difference. We are paying less for two communicating A/C units through Baker Brothers than we would have paid for two variable A/C units from Medley. In addition, they were able to schedule and complete the work the next day. Taz and his team did an amazing job installing the units and completing the duct work. The units Baker Brothers installed come with a lifetime warranty, as long as we sign up for the family plan, so we never have to worry about replacing our A/C's. The family plan includes service of the HVAC units, plumbing and electric in the home. I will also be using them to replace multiple lights in our home next week. I hate to hear others had a terrible experience with them, but mine has been nothing short of outstanding.

I wouldn't recommend them. Their tech didn't go a thorough job. I explained that I know there was a shift in the ground causing periodic blockage but didn't know they wouldn't guarantee their work due to this issue.

BEWARE! I hired Baker Brothers on 7/12; I had blown a circuit while replacing an exterior outlet. None of the breakers appeared to be tripped in my breaker panel but had multiple dead outlets. The tech ran diagnostics on the outlets as well as the breaker panels. He commented that my main breaker box looked good. He said my pool breaker box didn't have grounding wires, and that the pool was an electrocution hazard. The first red flag went up.

After 2.5 hours, he recommended the outside meter box and wires needed replacement along with both the main and pool breaker boxes. He then climbed in the attic and said he had isolated the wire that was causing the circuit problem. Said he could fix it but wouldn't because that type of quick repair would be beneath the standards of Baker Brothers.

He gave 2 options to fix my dead circuit: 1. Replace the pool breaker box and meter box for $4,200, but recommended (of course) combining pool breaker box with the main panel for $7,000. He  charged me $300.00 and departed. I still had dead outlets.

I had to hire a different licensed electrician (Jason) for an emergency Saturday A/C failure 4 days later. Explained to him what Baker Bros. tech had recommended, and he said that it didn't make sense to him. He returned (7/21) and examined the exterior outlet, walked into my garage, and ran his meter on the panels. He then flipped a breaker in the pool panel and restored power to the outlets. Time to fix from arrival: 10 minutes. Charge $136.00. The reason I didn't find this problem was I was unaware I had 2 house circuits wired to my pool breaker box. Now I know.

The Baker tech had tested those panels and Jason said if he tested them, he had to know that it was just a simple tripped breaker. He also said none of my boxes required replacement. He showed me that my main breaker panel had been replaced in 1998, wasn't even original to my 1982 era home. He also pointed out the grounding wires in my pool breaker box, and that the pool was perfectly safe and compliant.

I wrote a complaint to Baker Brothers and was called by their customer service (7/25). The rep was adversarial and backed his tech completely. He said I absolutely needed new breaker panels and all of the recommendations the tech made were legitimate, even though another electrician fixed my problem in 10 minutes. He said if a house has a 20-year-old panel, they recommend full replacement. He said the other electrician (21 years of experience) was wrong in his assessments and ended with stating this is a he said versus he said situation. In the end, Baker's best and supported practice was to install an unnecessary  $7,000.00 replacement panel and meter box, instead of simply flipping a tripped breaker that cost $136.00. These guys are the nightmare you worry about when you hire a contractor.

I waited several weeks before posting this because I wanted to see if the guys would do what they said and come back out to fix what they left undone, and they have not. Over three weeks later. I spent $18,000 with this company and the very least they can do is ensure that the job was done fully and correctly. Here are the things that are left undone - they came back to fix a kitchen switch they hadn't noticed (it was behind a door) but when they fixed it, they made it so that the switch only works if another switch is on. They installed a white cover where there should be a dark brown and said they would come out and replace it the following week, they just didn't have the correct color on hand. They also left copper wire and plastic tubing debris all over the house. They just left it there, I'm still finding it. Why didn't they pick up after themselves? I have a little dog, and I would rather him not be sniffing/eating various debris. If it was just one place in the house, it would be one thing, but the debris is everywhere. I keep finding it in the laundry ( probably because it gets on my socks) and on the floor throughout the house.

I called them to install GFCI outlets in my kitchen and bathrooms, which shouldn't have been an $18,000 job, however, the electrician who came out saw that a bunch more work needed to be done - and I agreed to do it. I wish now that I'd gotten a second opinion because based on the shoddy work that was done, I'm honestly not sure that any of the extra work needed to be done. I don't trust them to provide honest and professional opinions on electrical work anymore.

They were here for two days doing the work, and right after they left on the second day, we discovered that none of the outlets in the master bedroom had power. I went to check the breaker box and discovered that there was nothing wrong - although they hadn't turned the living room breaker back on, so I did that, and hoped that maybe it was just mislabeled and the bedroom outlets would work, but no. I also noticed a switch which only worked if another switch was on (not the same as above, this was a hall switch). There was the switch behind the door in the kitchen that I noticed they missed and a outlet that was glowing orange in the living room, so I called and they told me someone would come out the following day. So they came back out for a third day of work. And yet, still we have things left unfinished. I waited for several weeks to see if anyone would come back out or contact me to finish what is left undone, but they haven't.

I think everyone can agree that when they spend $18,000 on a service, they want that money to be well spent and the job to be done fully and completely. That was just not my experience with Baker Brothers. I have used them before for plumbing and wrote them a great review, but I just cannot give them a good review for this. I regret having them do this work.

DECEPTIVE SALES PRACTICES!!! On March 30 a Baker Brothers technician did an annual inspection of my a/c unit. During the visit he showed me a video that indicated there was a freon leak. However, the video he showed had the corner of the unit pried open to allow his wand to be inserted in the unit. He stated the cost of repairs would range from $1672 to $4250. We inspected the unit after the technician left, there wasn't a corner of our unit that had been pried open as all corners were sealed. It appeared the video wasn't of the unit in our attic. As Baker Brothers always does after a visit, an email was sent with the pictures taken and a video that showed the vent to my unit, but not the video that showed the leak. I requested the video that showed the leak multiple times, but each time the link that was sent I didn't have access to. I then called another company to get a second opinion. The second company didn't indicate there was a freon leak. I of course have cancelled my family membership with Baker Brothers.

I have their family plan, which means they are suppose to come out and check my AC, electric and plumbing FOUR times. nobody has ever come. the family plan is a waste of money. the one time I had scheduled for AC to come out, they had to reschedule and I was nearly late for work. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The Company's communication is top notch with nice and Courteous scheduler's. Showed up on time. With nice and clean van. Down hill fast from there. Tech with a nice clean uniform and ruins it with his shirt untucked looking like a slob.

The first time I called them I explained to the Tech (Ricky) what my system was doing. I explained to him my blower motor was not kicking in to high. He came down from the attic and said he tested everything. His tests say the blower motor is bad? I asked him are you sure? I explained to him the blower is working in low. His reply was that his Boss said that's the only thing that it could be. I told him that's not the problem but I'm not a HVAC certified. I told him that I thought it was either thermostat or the blower motor control board. He said nope it was the blower motor.

Parts changing guys in vans. The Guy I had was Named Ricky Gonzales. I went from an AC system that was half way working to a system that was broken. He replaced blower motor. He came down and said unfortunately the new motor was bad straight out of the box. I asked him to take out the new motor and reinstall my old motor that was working in low. Next he comes back down and says now the old motor is not working now. I asked him what was the next step and he said to call a competitor that installed the unit because he couldn't figure out what was wrong.

Now waiting on the next AC company to so up with me and my family sitting and laying in our own sweat.

This was a two week joke!

Like most of the reviews here I was egregiously charged nearly $800 dollars for repair to commode that took 1.5 hour and a $20 part. In the process of reinstalling the commode a new leak occurred from a loose screw. The technician said he could fix that problem for an additional $449. After catching my breath, I got my screwdriver and fixed it myself in 30 seconds. My wife is not talking to me now because I did not get another estimate and nothing is left in our budget for her anniversary present. So now I'm in deep s#*t for paying Baker Brothers the money I had saved for her present. I told the tech he charges more than my cardiologist. I'm blocking Baker Brothers from my phone before they cause another heart attack.

Our experience with Baker brothers was absolutely phenomenal. They easily could've told us we needed a lot of work but our problem turned out to be very something very simple and all we had to do was pay a $39 service call. Going forward Baker Brothers will be my go to person for anything for plumbing or air conditioning. The service techs were professional and polite and answered all of our questions

Nine years ago, the city adjusted the fittings on the water meter and broke a solder joint on my side of the meter. $2100 later, a mess in the yard and a broken sidewalk left a painful reminder of what happens when you get a bad plumber.  That experience continued as a new pin hole leak developed in the repaired solder joint.

I was dreading calling another plumber.  I did some research and discovered Baker Brothers is who I should call to fix the new problem!
It was mid-afternoon, but to take care of me, they found one on the team to do the work.  Within an hour, Corbin was on the way!  Before he arrived, they sent a photo of him to help ensure I would know him upon arrival. He was quietly confident and seemed very trustworthy.  His assistant was the same way.

They quickly got to work, located the leak, dug out the 2 competing roots from nearby live oaks that were beginning to encase the leak and all was repaired within 3 hours.  Total cost was $1100.  I should add, they fixed some other errors with the previous plumber's work and suggested some future items they could handle as well.  No up-selling!

If in the area and need plumbing or A/C work, call Baker Brothers. If it is plumbing, ask for Corbin!

That water heater failed and the drip pan under it leaks, causing water to leak to the first floor master.  I called to request service on a Saturday, was placed on hold then hung up on after 15 minutes.  I called back, straight to voice mail.We contacted another plumber to resolve the leak. Upon contacting Baker Brothers on Monday to seek warranty service, we were told that because we had another plumber touch them we would be responsible for all labor to repair or replace the unit. UPDATE ** in response to Baker Bros reply, it wasn't just the pricing that was the issue (which it certainly was ridiculous tbh), but it was the fact that I scheduled for someone to come out yesterday (the night before, so WELL in advance) and never once EVER heard from someone nor did anyone come by. The lack of (or missing altogether) communication is not a way a business should conduct itself. We are experiencing some extremely hot & humid days and I have health issues that this is effected by. A SINGLE phone call, email, text, anything- would have helped tremendously to know that my house was being completely blown off that day.

I agree, you definitely missed the mark on this one, but in many ways, not just the pricing.

CROOKED, BROKE OUR AC UNIT ON PURPOSE. Wish I could give less than 1 star.
We were on a subscription with this company to come out each year and maintain and service our AC unit. Our AC unit worked perfectly fine-- they had just come over to check it.

Before the man left he said it is about to go out. We didn't believe him because it works perfectly fine. Within ONE hour of this man leaving our house, the AC went down and the house was horribly hot. Which never happens.

How did this man mysteriously know our AC was about to go out in ONE hour if there were no issues with it? He was just there to service the upkeep of the unit. Then they quoted it will cost 20,000 to fix.

These people broke our AC unit on purpose.

Buyer Beware! We had Baker Brothers come out to our house for a routine service related to our water heaters. The service tech recommended the Family Plan, which he said was month to month and could be cancelled at any time. 8 months later, we decided to cancel the plan due to a move out of their service area. Turns out, Baker Brothers said it's an annual contract, so you can pay off the last four months and pay back the discount given on signing up, or you can just continue the monthly charges for the next four months.

TOTAL RIPOFF. Don't fall for it.

I tried to call Misty at Baker Brothers Plumbing Air & Electric but she was not available so another business manager took my call.  He justified the $840 charge since it was a 10 foot extension from an existing outlet.  Indicating that if it was a 5 foot extension it would have been only $420.  So I guess the extra 5 feet of wire cost $84.00 per foot.  I am sorry I did not send the installer packing before he started the job.  I have subsequently received a quote for the same job for $120.00.  I could have saved $720.00 if I had done my due diligence first.

Approximately 6-8 months ago I  had a plumber come and and he ran a line down the clean out for our kitchen and said that should do it. After paying $175 for that visit, we had the same problem again within three days. The next plumber asked where our clean outs were and once again I told him of the only one I had ever seen was near the kitchen area. He stated that there were others somewhere, but made no effort or gave me suggestions on how I could locate them. That visit cost me over $300.

Now today your Garrett Bullard and Ryan (?) we're dispatched to our home. After a few minutes discussing our problem, I was assured they would find the problem and fix it. They located the clean outs that had been hidden from me for 20 years under a foot of dirt/ flower bed, just as it had been when we moved in. They found roots growing in the drain pipe caused by a fitting that was not sealed properly. These guys went to work in the heat and took out and replaced the drain pipe and with the camera saw that I was clear all the way to the street. They worked hard and kept me informed all through the process.

I couldn't be more grateful for Baker Brothers getting me on their schedule quickly and for the professional, knowledgeable and hard working guys they sent out to FIX my problem!!!

We are on the Family Plan and expect to with you for a long time.

THANKS

Called at 5:35 PM, advised I have already had a camera run that shows roots in my sewer drain and they are causing drain to back up.  The young lady said she would schedule an evaluation call, but didn't know when they might have a sewer machine available because We only have so many of those machines.  What kind of a plumbing truck doesn't carry a rooter machine to a blocked drain call?    I reiterated that I already had an evaluation and I just need my drain cleaned out.  She wouldn't schedule a plumber to come out with a sewer machine.  I called a competitor, who is on the way to clear my drain.  I was really surprised at the total lack of customer service, having had a good experience previously using Baker Bros.

I have used them once for some plumbing work and they did a decent job.  My air conditioner went out so I decided to try to use them.  They scheduled an appointment for Friday - of course like the cable company it could have been anytime.  I made arrangements to have someone meet them and waited throughout the day.

When I called around noon to see if they had any idea when they might come they said they had no idea.  About 3 they texted and said it would be at night.  Then about 6 they texted and cancelled and asked me to reschedule.

That's about the worst way to run a business I can imagine.  Glad I don't run my business that way!9

First time customer

I help to manage a commercial property in Fort Worth, from out of state and they came through for me and my tenant.

There was an issue with the toilet, they came the same day, checked in with a tenant along with sending me a text that they were on the way.

They charged only for the job, not hourly. To problem shoot/repair our toilet the cost was under $100 and the tenants were appreciative of the quick service.

I will be using them in the future, they were helpful and fast!

I would be cautious of using their service.

I have 2 problems in my upstairs bathroom, a clogged toilet and a leak in the bath that resulted in wet ceiling in 1st story. So I called them up.

The first appointment was a nice and honest guy. He always gave me a quote before making any actions. He checked quickly on my toilet and found out it was rather a broken toilet than a problem in sewer. And he treated me fairly on money. The other problem he suspected there was a leak in the pipe, so we scheduled a second appointment given it would be a 2-man job.

The second appointment, they mistakenly sent out a different guy, which I didn't have a problem with at first. That guy suspected the leak was from the tile rather than in the pipe, so he ran a quick check to the base of the shower, and concluded it was a leak from the tile. Then he charged me $412. For a quick check? So convenient and quick money!  I see no heavy jobs at all, and he didn't fix anything. I realized that unlike the first guy, he didn't give me any quotes before doing anything.

I understand it that during COVID a lot of businesses are struggling. But I think ripping people off isn't a good way to run a business under any circumstance.

Have a house account here and they do great work. I've used them to fix various projects around my house throughout the years. I've even remodeled two bathrooms and used them to plan all the sanitary lines.

You won't be disappointed using them. They are the best in town.  They come at a cost but that cost is shown in the work they do. Very solid company.

I'm not impressed with this company at the moment.

I have an 8:00 am appointment.  It's 9:20 and I've not received a call telling me anything different. I know, I have a hot water leak. Made this appointment yesterday for them to come today.

I expect promptness. My time is valuable.

Eventually, they showed up. What a surprise. I have a pier and beam home, always a significant up-charge for that. 290$ to crawl under the house. You have to sign on the tablet before they will provide service. This information was disclosed to their staff when scheduling the appointment.  At least the guys are young and agile. I think that's why BB sent them.

I'd hate having to crawl around in that mud. Yucky! The thought of weird bugs is an additional turn off.

The leak was located and it's going to require some digging to get to the pipes. Not much space for them to move around under the house. The estimate is 1400$.  After a total of 4 hours the meter is now reading no leak!! Yeah! They half way cleaned up behind themselves. Area was still dirty/muddy when they left. I think they need too bring a dust pan with them to clean up.

My water heater was not placed by this company, . They stuck a sticker on it like they did, then took a picture. Not sure why? Micah's Honest Plumping placed this heater in October at a super nice price.

I think they should show the customers pictures of the work they do.  The total cost ended up being over 1600$. Pictures would have made this deal perfect. I would have liked to see pictures of the work from under the house. Visuals would have put the money I spent in perspective.

Wanted to have our old sink replaced with a new one we bought. Tech gives us a call and says he'll be here in 10 minutes. An hour later we call the shop asking where he was, and he shows up 15 minutes later, flying down our street and overshoots the house. Walks in with a huge dip in his mouth, and charges us $39 to tell us it'll be $1260 to swap sinks. That's one thousand, two hundred and sixty dollars to replace a sink we already own. Hard pass...

BUYER BEWARE - What a complete waste of time. I needed 2 outlets put in behind the TV. When I called Baker Brothers Plumbing, Air & Electric I told the receptionist that I need an estimate of what it may cost as I am on a budget. The receptionist told me that she did not know, she said that they could come out for a service fee and the technician can give me an estimate. I told the receptionist that I cant afford over a certain amount so it would be good to know. I asked if there was a technician in office that she could ask. She said no again. I told her that I did not want a technician to come out to my home so I can pay a service fee to find out I cannot afford the service. This is a sales technique that home service companies use to get a technician out to your home. It's a bait and switch, the tech told me to install 2 outlets $897, the tech then tells me he will call his manager and they lower it down by $200.  The character of this company is just bad. I would not recommend this company.

I have been a loyal Baker Brothers customer for many years. Yesterday I had a leak in my daughters upstairs bathroom. The water cut off on the toilet didn't stop the leak.  I was bailing water until I could get someone to cut the water off at the street.   I called Baker Brothers only to find out there were no appointments available for 3 days (due to the holiday). However, they could  have someone come out on Sunday for an after hours appointment for $300 service call in addition to the work needed. I had to get online and call someone who could fix the problem sooner rather than later.  i am so disappointed in Baker Brothers and their claim to be a family owned business.  In my family loyalty means something.

In 2018 I had Baker Brother's install a heating and Air. 2 years later, there is condensation and has water draining under and causing me to change the filter often. I am needing them to come out so that I can install a better filter and I am being charged $200 over the weekend during this covid year!!! You are horrid people stealing money from those that barely can afford it and I am still paying from the over $4,000 you ripped me off since it was only a year guarantee!!!
Shame on you!!!! Unfortunately,  I cannot wait until Monday as I need to move my mother into my house as she cannot take care of herself at this time.  Rip off horrible people!!!!! Don't use this company,  they don't care about you just the money they can rip people off from....

Do NOT use this company unless you want to be ripped off. Mis-diagnosed my issue and when I wanted some more details it took 4 days of me calling them, they didn't call back. I finally got a hold of the manager to answer some questions and the conversation was immediately adversarial like I was wasting his time and shouldn't be asking questions. This is the Huge RED flag your talking to a liar. I am a building trades professional so I know a little about plumbing and they treated me like they didn't care if they did the job or not. Wonder if Mr. Baker knows he has associates that don't give a dam about the customer.
I will definitely be giving my business to another outfit.

2nd APPOINTMENT
I've now just had my second experience and unfortunately the five stars that Tony got before has now been reduced to zero through no fault of his own, but through his management. I'm sorry that it looks like I gave them a star, but this time they have not earned a star.

I was very specific when I called a few days ago that my tub filler/faucet had been installed improperly in my bathroom update and I needed them to fix it along with install the master toilet plus the drain stopper and overflow plate in the bathroom above and check a few other things INCLUDING THE WATER HEATER FLOOD ALARM THAT HAS GONE OFF!!!

I was told they had to have a specific person come out because of the tub filler/faucet situation couldn't be just anyone, but someone that was familiar with this sort of thing; hence, they couldn't get someone to me for a couple of days. I accepted that.

Fast forward a couple of days to my appointment:

They would not give me a timeframe on when they were coming. Finally, the day of, I begged for a time frame so that I could attempt to arrange my schedule and I was withholding the paychecks of the people that screwed up the situation in the first place until I knew how grave the situation was in repairing what had happened. I was very upfront with Baker Brothers about this.

When I called for a timeframe the day of, they gave me the timeframe of 11a-2p. No one showed up and I finally called at 3:30p. They sent someone out who told me he was unqualified to do the work. He told me no one would be available for another couple of days.

I called Baker Brothers yet again and was told they would get the manager to call me and this was around 4:30 PM. No one called and I finally called back a little after 5:00 PM and they told me I would receive no phone call until the following day from a manager. I still have no master toilet installed and five people are still waiting on their paychecks even though multiple times I told Baker Brothers this was very important so that I could get people paid. Top that with the fact my water heater needs to be checked and I've basically been stood up.

Needless to say, I did not return the manager's call the next day.

ZERO stars

1st APPOINTMENT
Tony was upfront with me on costs and exactly what would be done. When we ran into an issue that was odd with the house, he handled it beautifully and at all times explained things in detail. He even finished in less time than what I had expected. He was everything I wish every company could be.

We were having electrical surges in our house. We called Baker Brothers out. We were told that our electrical box was old and outdated and we needed a new one. Our quote was $5,800. We called out another electrician for an estimate. We were told our electrical box was fine. He recommed that we call Encore and have them check the transformer for our house. Encore came out and the transformer was bad. Encore replace the transformer and it has stopped the electrical surges. Very disappointed that Baker Brothers wanted to replace our entire electrical box and there is not a problem with it.

Wish I could give zero stars. Signed up for Baker Brothers monthly A/C maintenance plan at $9.95/month because they had done a couple of great plumbing installs for me. So, time for the  Summer check-up arrives. Baker Brothers guy showed up and after spending 15 minutes both in my attic and looking at the outside unit, quoted me $960 for a new capacitor, hard start assist, pan safety switch, and pan treatment. My house is only 5 years old and has a top of the line Carrier unit that I have had regularly checked every 6 months by a local company since I moved in. So I promptly told the Baker Bros guy no thanks and called to cancel their worthless monthly maintenance plan. I then called my usual local company as well as one more place and asked them both to come out for Summer check ups. Both of them said the capacitor along with everything else was fine. They each charged me $69 for the check up. So I guess the motto is those monthly service plans are not worth it, and second opinions are not just for surgery! I'll never call Baker Brothers again....they tried to rip me off!

Sigh, I had a complaint about a faucet BB installed and I am not any qualified plumber, I assumed their faucet was defective.  The neighbor across the street looked the situation over and said a washer in my HOSE was missing.  He replaced the cheap washer, and everything is OK.  A case of you can be wrong when you're certain you were right.

We had no water in the house so we were desperate to fix it.
Of course with my concern,They came and cut the area little more, soldered it and the guy completed his work in 40 mins.
They charged me $450 for this work which I feel like rip-off.
so beware this company can charge you crazy.

::: WARNING!!! GO ELSEWHERE!! :::

Around 11am I had a house breaker switch off, most likely from the space heaters that I had blowing in two rooms, this has happened before however in this case the breaker when switched back on did not turn on the electricity no matter how many times I toggled it.

I sent out a mass broadcast request and Baker Brothers responded immediately. I had my reservations given the mediocre reviews (red flag #1) but I'm a fan of second chances so... Zach was sent out. Besides reeking of cigarettes (red flag#2?) Zach was as professional as expected. The issue came in when Zach only touched the electric box - a few toggles - and the electricity miraculously came back on. According to Zach, Problem fixed! (red flag #3!) $40.00 for a magical electrician touch I can get over, but clearly not truly resolving the problem or even honestly and actively attempting to assess the greater issue is a MUCH greater offense.

Before Zach had driven off to the next assignment the lights started flickering (red flag#4). I called to have the office send him back however upon glancing out my window found him parked across the street just... hanging out (a huh?! flag!) but ok. I ran out to let him know that the lights, in the rooms that were previously blacked out, were slightly flickering - something I had never seen before - and I was concerned the greater problem would present itself again. Zach lazily reassured me that there is no problem and it was just the panel that needed tightly closing (which of course did not make any sense to me logically however given he's the professional... Ummm k... if you say so).

You can guess the rest but here are the details...

7pm, space heaters in the trash, bourbon in hand relaxing after a hard days work aaaaand, LIGHTS OUT! Ugh! House is blacked out, Zach is home tucked in cozy at home off-call and I'm spending the night bundled under covers to keep from FREEZING TO DEATH in home which is now a freezer chamber (30° that night).

This was an extremely dishearteningly lazy and inept, everything BUT professional job. I couldn't get another electrician out until the morning so fortunately for you all I've time in the cold dark to elaborate on the fun of this companies mediocrity.

Good quality, honorable workmanship should NOT be this hard to find nor this disappointing. Given the care taken I wouldn't trust this company to plug in my blender.

You can learn a lot here from this optimistic dummy, me. SMH.

Called Baker Bros., who I have used before, on a Monday to get a plumber out ASAP as I had water coming UP through my kitchen floor. They said the soonest the could come out was Wednesday afternoon. So I am home from work on a Wednesday afternoon, they text me and say they can't make it. They got back up. The ask to reschedule. Then the next day I get another text saying the will be closed for the next five days because of the weather. I understand there is nothing we can do about the weather but this is ridiculously bad service. Never again. I'd rather wait on a company that doesn't string people along like this.

This is an update to a review I made some time back.  Today Baker Brothers earned my admiration enough for me to over look a former bad experience.

The young man they sent was very polite, and very adept at his job.  He listened to my explanation of the problem and went promptly to work; he was in and out in less than 30 minutes.  I will be using this company again.

PLEASE NOTE, the young ladies answering the phones are only the messengers, and can not give you the time frame you expect, especially during the the 2021 winter storm aftermath.  When I called today to confirm my appointment, the young lady held her breath after telling me when I can expect a plumber.  I laughed and told her, relax, I know you are only the messenger, I'm not going to take it out on you.  She gave out a big sigh and said thank you.

My rating reflects the company and not the two young men who were wonderful employees.  Baker Brothers tag line on their website is no hidden cost and I was unable to get an estimate on a new toilet installed and was told it's 39.00 for the service visit and when they arrive if I agree to installation the 39.00 will be applied.  Long story short... the installation was the price of the toilet $300.00 and I felt taken advantage of.  I'm very disappointed and will never use Bake Brothers Plumbing again!

I need an evaporator coil replaced.  The two technicians came out and were very professional.  They quoted me 4.2K which seemed a bit high.  I asked for a breakdown of parts and labor including the brand  of parts to be installed-Goodman?  Rheem?  Lennox?  How many pounds of coolant will that include? The techs checked with their manager who said the 4.2K was a flat rate and refused provide a breakdown or description of parts used.  However, they verbally quoted the drain pan as costing 600.00.  Which would only be the case if the pan was coated with gold and held together by diamonds.  Sorry, but if you want me to spend 4.2K I deserve to have some basic info on the work to be done including brand and written cost of parts to be used...They aren't willing to communicate the basics (probably so they can charge 600 for a DRAIN PAN) and that is a deal breaker. Will not attempt to work with them again.

Goodman ac was stopping and restarting continuesly.  Called Baker Brothers and they flushed out the condensation outlet where we have a device to shut down if clogged or draining slowly..  Next thing I know the technician is telling me the problem is really with my AC unit, showed me readings which were high to convince me a new unit was my only viable option.  When I told him I would need a second opinion he started telling me about the limited supply on parts and units right now, if I wait even an hour there might not be anything available..well you all know the high pressure techniques especially during Aug Texas 100 degree heat, I felt I had little options, I agreed to a new AC to be installed the next day.  Luckily my husband insisted on a second opinion.  Second opinion:.turned out there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with my unit that a good cleaning didn't fix to bring down the pressure readings.  The second opinion was made after a thorough assessment,  rather than only a quick reading of some electronic device which Baker Brothers did.
Either the BB technician was inexperienced (claimed to have 12 years of experience), or he saw me as an easy target which is hurting me deeply because obviously I fell for it...and do feel like a sucker right now.
Stay clear.

We called baker Bros. to come out and fix 2 ea. light switches. The service person that arrived told us that our fuse box had been recalled and he would not be able to fix the switches until the box was updated at the cost of 5000.00. He also told us that we could not sell the house with out replacing the fuse box. He was very condescending and arrogant. I was charged 35 .00 to have someone tell me I needed to spend 5000.00 to get the issue fixed. I think they need to start selling used cars, seems like that is who is representing Baker Bros. in the market. I did get the switches fixed by a reputable company for less than 5000.00. I would stay away from this company.

I will give this business a 1 because all of the people with whom I spoke were very responsive, cordial and businesslike.  That being said, what matters most to me aside from workmanship is the cost.  I realize this is a bigger company with higher overhead that an individual electrician.  Upon inspection by one of this company's electricians, I was told that I needed a new breaker box.  Photos were taken and sent to his manager and a quote was give to me - $4200.  He would be replacing my 150amp box for a 200amp box.  I did a little research & found that avg cost is around $2000 at the highest.  I found a master electrician who is licensed and insured who did the entire job for $2000 total.  When there is this much disparity in price for the same item/service, something is wrong.  I will add that the electrician I hired did not use cheap after market products either.  I checked before he installed.  If you don't mind paying twice as much for the same service/product then by all means use this company.  To me, almost all of us are on a tight budget & cost counts.  I felt as if they confused me for someone either rich or stupid.

When my AC went out, I shopped around and went with Baker Brothers.  They came out and quoted me this and that and installed a heat pump and said I was part of the family plan so I thought that's awesome.

It's not... apparently being family in AC doesn't make you family for plumbing so they still charged me plumbing visits.  Cool right?

They set up my heat pump bad on the heating side because my energy bill skyrocketed in the winter!  They came out and fixed what they could.  Kudos for that.

Then comes the plumbing, shoulda went with someone else because they're charged me almost $200 for a simple little clog and went in with a camera and wanted me to pay for a hydro blow out. I said no and the clog issue came back, glad I wasted my money with baker bros.  I went with a smaller company that charged me less and came in with a rotor tiller to fix the problem.

Lastly they had the audacity to call me and tell me that my family plan is expiring and if I wanted to pay them more money to remain part of their family... to hell with that!  Don't go with them unless you like wasting money!

All they do is hire Independent Licensed Plumbers or Electrictions and take a percentage of what ever they decide to charge you.  Had an outside leak, I dug the whole to find the pipe and cleaned it out, but I don't solder.  'Plumber' said 'well you did the hard part on finding the leak', then said it would be $800 for him to fix it.  I sent him on his way and went to Lowe's with pictures and was sold a compression valve and $15 later it was fixed.

Called on Labor Day for a true emergency (shower would not turn off) simply based on the flashy television ads promoting great service. Got a response in 20 minutes, not the 10 that's listed in the Yelp review. Shut water off to the house myself, so while it's no longer wasting water, it will need to be fixed today. The folks answering were rather disinterested at best, which is unfortunate, given that most people are likely having a bad day when they need to call a plumber. Seems to me the customer service they hype would lead to a bit more enthusiasm.

After waiting 2.5 hours to even get an appointment, I gave up and checked another customer review website and found a more reputable, more local plumber. So, while Baker Brothers' actual plumbing service may be earth-shattering (I wouldn't know, since they never said when or if they'd arrive) their timeliness and interest in their customers is not.

They must be making money hand over fist to turn people away.

I sure wish I would have chosen another company. The charge outrageous price to change the capacitor on my AC over $300. And it broke within 6 months and they won't honor their warranty. It was a capacitor that broke again my friend tested it with his meter and confirm that it was broke so I knew it was a capacitor. They were very rude when I try to explain to them and they just wanted to charge me another service call for coming out to lie to me and said I needed a whole new unit for over $5,000. They are predatory company and I would be careful if you deal with them.

The tech from Baker was professional and seemed knowledgeable.
I explained the situation with the downstairs toilet and advised him that you could not use upstairs as it had a negative impact on the secondary.

He was unable to find the clean out under the deck so he charged more to pull the secondary toilet and complete the service/clean out.

5 days later I am having the exact same issue and Baker wants another service call fee and to charge for the clean out again.

I have already been charged extra because your agent could not find the clean out.  Now charge double?  No one is that professional.

Saw came out to give a second opinion on my water heater that wouldn't start. Another company told me that replacing the broken part on my water heater would be as costly as installing a new one at $1900. Saw recognized that my unit was still under warranty and had the expertise to say that this issue happened often with my brand. He called the manufacturer to order a part to be overnighted for free, then he installed it for only $300.

In the past i've thought Baker Bros service was a bit pricey, but their honesty and expertise just saved me $1500. The trust I have in this company is worth every penny!

These pieces of shit also said they would have the manager call but of course never did.  I will absolutely never ever recommend these thieves to anyone.  Price gouging crooked thieves.  Not sure how they have stayed in business as long as they have.  My fault. Not a company you should use unless you like bait & switch.  I scheduled an appointment for this am, the company knew that there was a burst pipe in a crawl space and the water was off.   The stated fee was $39 to diagnose which is waived if you use their services.

When the technician arrived on site the fee changes to $178 because it's in a crawl space and the water is off.  Clearly the representative I spoke w on Saturday missed something or this is how Baker Brother's does business.  Either way  I expect better from a corporate entity.

For what it's worth, the technician was very nice and professional.

They charged me $1500 to replace a ball valve on an exterior pipe. I later found out 2 of my neighbors had the exact same valve replaced for less than $500. I even dug the hole and exposed the pipe before Baker Brothers came. The work looks good but not 3x the price good.

I have lived in my home for thirty years. I have seen a lot of service companies come and go.  Baker Bros set themselves apart with me for responsiveness and quality of work.  Several years ago we joined the family plan. Now my kids also joined. It was a great investment. When we had to replace our water heater because the top blew out and we had water running all over the place they were there and had us fixed the same day.  They do our plumbing, electric and Heating and AC.  Very pleased.

Lesson learned: Insist on a quote or range before asking Baker Bros. for a repair visit.

I have an existing gas connection on my patio and it needs a new shut off valve for connection to a new, natural gas bbq grill. I called Baker Bros. and was happy to pay $99 for a visit and quote. I already bought all the parts to connect the grill, except for the shut off valve, which were under $20 each at the store.

To their credit, Baker Bros. responded very quickly and their plumbers were very courteous. But the quote was $455. The new grill was $499. That was highway robbery. I talked them down but only to $306. I balked, paid the $99 and sent them on their way.

If you call them for service, insist on a quote or price range for what you need!

Outrageous price of $850 to replace the ballast ($30) on the overhead kitchen fluorescent lights and to replace a wobbly light switch ($10). Trip to the local hardware store for parts and labor could not exceed two hours max. NONSENSE. I paid the $40 service call fee and sent the repair team to their next target. I assume the flat rate Baker price model means that each repair was priced separately. Consequently, the hourly service rates were quoted twice. I would love to know their markup on parts. Additionally, the primary interest of the tech was to sell a pricey monthly family plan.

Lightning hit my house and hail caused roof damage.  Bakers Brothers helped get my house back inhabitable again! Justin (the lightning expert!) and his crew Joe and Jason were very thorough going through all of my electrical so I wasn't afraid anymore to stay in my house and quickly got my electricity back going again.
Matt got all of the damaged insulation out and got rid of the weird smell caused by the strike by cleaning my ducts.  Chuck came and replaced my damaged water pump in the kitchen really quickly also.  They all just knew what to do and did it well! Thanks Bakers Brothers!!

I wanted to replace my two water heaters. I filled out a form online for someone to call me, they did but I was with a client so I couldn't pick up the phone. I called back and they had to start a whole new ticket! They don't keep information because they use a call service. It was a waste of time, but I had heard good things so I proceeded to try to make an appointment.

The tech was supposed to show up at my house between 8:30am and 9am. At 8:59am he calls me to tell me he is on his way but is in traffic. He said he possibly could be at my place at 9:40am. He then started to tell me how much it would cost over the phone to replace my one water heater. I told him I had two, and he said he wasn't told that. He seemed confused on how to quote me a price for two water heaters. He also said they only sell one water heater. I couldn't understand if they mean one water heater at a time or one type of water heater. Either way, I had received the message that they didn't have their act together and told him not to come.

This used to be a great company but like many other reviewers,  I think it has serious management issues. We had great experiences with the workers coming to our home but the office staff and the manager (Wesley) need serious customer service training - see below

I never told you our tech would be there between 8:00 and 8:30 - yes you did...
I am trying to help you here - no, you are not...I am the customer so I am helping you by giving you business
We get over 90 calls a day, we are going to make mistakes - dear Wesley, that is a slow Tuesday in my world
I had to meet with Garrett, that is why he is late - oh well, in that case....I understand that your meeting is more important than an appointment with a customer

I could go on and on ........I emailed the president of Baker Brothers....stay tuned

I reached out to Baker Brothers for a hot water heater issue and leak in my bathroom. They offered me an appointment seven days later and I accepted. On the morning of the appointment I receive a text stating that they didn't have time to come out because my issue wasn't high priority enough and the first available appointment would be 30 days from the original appointment. I told them that the house has no hot water and I took the day off work with no pay for this appointment...a date they offered. They didn't even have the courtesy to respond. This is ridiculous and unprofessional.

As part of the pipe replacement work, we had an agreement to fix drain issue in one of my bathrooms. Baker Brothers said that nothing is wrong with the drain system it's clean and was tested with video camera.
The next plumber found a problem immediately without camera and other fancy equipment. He found a peace of pipe and other plastic object inside the drain. The fix took 20 minutes.

Prices are extremely high, got not reasonable quote for water heater replacement -  $1000 for labor only!!!!!

I'm not at all satisfied with Baker Brothers Plumbing and AC.  My wife and I arranged an appointment to get an estimate on the installation of a high velocity system in our home.  The appointment was for Monday at 3 pm.  I even called off work to be at home with the wife.

We waited till 5 pm and no one showed up!  We eventually left and started running other errands.  I was so mad that I wasted a half day at home doing nothing.

I followed up with an email asking to reschedule and one week later I still have not received a response.

3 day to diagnose my issues. First day guy I dont know what is wrong. Second day first guy and a new guy came still dont know what is wrong. Third day new guy comes out an within one hour he says we need to pay 4k for the outside system and pay for things that they put on it mind you they didn't ask us for permission. This was a diagnosis not a replacement unless we know for sure. Seems to me he didn't want to deal with replacement parts but replace the whole system. I know its a business but to misdiagnosis over and over and hard wire our heater isn't safe and desirable. Not to say they don't know what they are doing but to misdiagnose the problem and say nope buy a new system cause the replacement they did doesnt work properly. Mind you everything turns on and works but the fan turn off after a few mins. He also stated whoever built it didn't do the work right.... wait what yall replaced it a year ago. Lol  hustlers.. 4k new outside unit but it's not wired properly so buy it and charge more for the wiring. A 5 ton outside replacement unit is 1300 to 2500 without labor.. Look fair business is fair.. but to try and hustle my father who is an older gentleman isn't at all good. Baker brothers I hope you realize this. This review will be going on angie list and other reviews. Thanks but no thanks. I have copies and warranty of the work they did. But now some how the wiring isn't done right???

DO NOT USE!!!! They came out to fix the plumbing in the bathroom. Had to go through the wall in the other room to get to behind the showers and fox the pipes.  Tore the sheet rock down, but did not replace the sheetrock back. They should have replaced the sheetrock. Especially since the job cost close to $3,000.00.

Called them out another time to look at the AC unit. Baker Brothers said it will cost anywhere from $11,000.00 to $17,000.00 to replace the unit. Humm someone has to pay for them big fancy trucks they have. Called another contractor out, and that needed to be replaced is a simple module unit that only cost about $550.00.  Baker Brothers are nothing but scam artists. Oh and if you need an estimate they will have to send someone else out and charge a fee. DO NOT USE BAKER BROTHERS!!!!!

Baker Brothers far surpasses any plumbing company we have ever used and we've tried several. I truly couldn't recommend them enough. This is a combo review. A/C was freezing up, showing signs of low freon. Helpful tech did a pretty thorough inspection and showed me several problems. He did a good job. He would get 4 stars.

I was not impressed with the hard sell for a new unit when the sales guy came by to meet with us. I expressed that we plan on staying here so we needed a good solution, but this was a terrible timing due to some financial uncertainties coming up. When I pointed out that the 16 seer unit (the Silver solution) was almost $5k more than the one we had done about 2 years ago in Mississippi (same brand!) he just smiled and said that is Mississippi, this is Texas. Alarm bells were going off when I very honestly told him I was in total sticker shock that the 14 seer unit (the bronze aka lowest solution) was over $10k and I was going to need a second opinion.

Here is what I find VERY shady. When leaving, they informed me they disconnected the A/C and it was just on fan since it was so low on freon. Also one of the main reasons for not recommending any repair was that the unit was from 2004 and it would be a waste of money.

Fortunately, someone at work recommended a guy that had done the work on our coolers and HVAC in the past. He walked in not knowing what BB had said. First thing he asked was why the A/C was off if all it was doing was freezing up. In his view totally unnecessary, he turned it back on but at 78 and it got us through the night with no problems. I can't help but wonder if this wasn't a tactic to make us so uncomfortable we would run to get it replaced (especially when my wife said something about maybe getting another opinion and sales guy laughed and said it was going to get hot), but maybe I'm being cynical.

As for the second point, he said the outside unit/heat pump was 5 years newer and really most of the problems BB pointed out were in the attic unit. He recommended replacing the attic unit and taking care of the outside by acid washing the coils and retrofitting for the newer freon since the old stuff was so expensive.

His solution had me up and going the next day, and the split with the new attic condenser and the retrofitted outside pump is working great.

Oh, and his quote had I wanted to replace it all was indeed almost $5000 less than Bakers silver solution so I guess it wasn't just a Mississippi vs Texas thing. However, he pointed out by only replacing half the split unit and doing the retrofit, if we keep the outside unit going another few years before replacement my total cost won't be much more than doing it this way, and we don't have to spend money that is very tight right now until down the road hopefully.

I felt like the other company listened to what we were saying and tried to gain a life long customer. Companies SHOULD try to be profitable and I have no problem paying for high quality, but I feel this crossed the line into gouging. If Baker gives you a high quote, do yourselves a favor and get another opinion.

They made an unfortunate situation into a great experience. They were professional and respectful the entire time. They put their booties on and took them off every single time they entered my house. I feel like they made it a point to educate me on the issue along the way and only had what was the best fix in mind. So glad to have a company that I feel is trustworthy and does the job right.
I have dealt with two local plumbing companies and they were such a headache. It took three weeks working with these other companies and they offered no resolution.
I called  Baker Brothers and they gave me a one hour appointment window for the next morning, showed up on time, and fixed the issue in just a few hours. That included diagnosing, crawling under my house, and manually dumping water, digging to the pipes, and fixing the leak. So very thankful.

City water called my elderly dad to tell him that there is a water leak at his house and to call a plumber to check on the leakage.  Don't know who to call but seeing their TV commercial, I made a call.  Gave an appointment after lunch and will call or txt 30-45 minutes b4 they come out.  I assumed maybe 1p.m. is the latest so appoint was set.
It was approaching 2p.m. and no one called or txt.  I txted and asked where they are at.  They replied back that their morning call was running longer than thought.  I asked for an estimated time, but they couldn't give one.
Four o'clock and no message/call from Baker Brothers so I had to call them.  Again, they're running late and said after lunch means after lunch.  It was already past 4p.m. so technically, it's not after lunch anymore.  It's about dinner time.  I went ahead and cancelled the appointment.
I don't recommend them based on unreliable appointment time.

Let's start with the positive: this company has an efficient call center for customer intake. But when the technician showed up at my property to fix two toilets, he was extremely unprofessional. Unprompted, Jose started to complain about his kids. Awkward. And now, 24 hours after his visit - after spending $289 - neither toilet works. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I am so disappointed.

Kitchen faucet needed replacing after a leak developed on a Saturday afternoon...and in diagnosing the issue I soon saw that the shutoff valves also needed replacing. So I called BB on  Monday morning. they were very pleasant over the phone. They had openings for the day, so the wife and I purchased a replacement faucet so as to make sure there were no delays in getting the job done, because being without a kitchen faucet for 2 days had been a pain..

The good:
Prompt, same-day service (Monday)
Technician got the job done

The bad:
As soon as the technician saw our faucet choice (Grohe), he rolled his eyes and exclaimed, Well, that just shot the install price way up.
Okay, thanks. I can understand that, but you can be a little nicer about how you present that information. He then proceeded to talk about how unreliable designer faucets are and how they are difficult to install. Okay, again, thanks, but I didn't ask for an ease of installation rating of my product choice, I asked for an install. I'm sorry my wife didn't wanna get something from Home Depot to make *your* life easier.

He complained about the difficulty of the install from time to time during the job. OK, I understand that, but I didn't design it, nor did I know if the install would be easy or difficult. At one point he realized he had forgotten to install a certain piece, so he had to remove the whole thing and start over - fortunately, putting it back together went very quickly for him. (If he had pulled out all parts in advance he might not have had that issue - just sayin'.) At the end of the job, as he was finishing the paperwork, he stated (with a slight air of irritation) I suppose you want to use that $50 off coupon you gave me earlier.

Well, yeah, I do. Sorry to be such a bother.

The guy wasn't *totally* rude, nor was he altogether unpleasant...but his voicing of his frustration did make us uncomfortable. (I didn't realize it was on us to make sure he was happy with out product selection.) As he left he said, I'm gonna refuse to install Grohe's going forward. I'm thinking that's probably a good idea. Similarly, I'm going to remember this experience when called upon to choose a plumber.

Years ago I used Baker Bros. for my hot water heater replacement, which is why I called them again. I don't think that will happen again, and as president of our condo's home owner's association, I will most likely be reluctant to recommend them to any other residents. They aren't off my list...just at the bottom of it.

That said, the job was done, appears to have been done correctly.

I am upset with Baker Brothers right now as I scheduled an appointment for an ac checkup on 5/30/19.  First open appointment would be 6/4/19 in the afternoon.  They would call before coming out.  It is 5:20pm and still no call from them if they are coming or not.  I called again the number from the tv ad and spoke to Macy and she advised that they had a problem with another ac not cooling but they would probably still be out this evening.  I asked about tomorrow as I waited here all day.  She said they could come out tomorrow in the afternoon, no appointment time, but would call before coming.  I don't understand if you service the metroplex, do you not have someone else that could meet my appointment?  Very poor service.  Unhappy customer

Craig - OUR HOUSE IS LITERALLY RUMBLING DUE TO PRESSURE OR SOME TYPE OF VACUUM IN THE PLUMBLING LINES THAT BAKER BROTHERS INSTALLED. My husband and I have tried calling into your office 6 times over the last few weeks and every single time we get told that no one can help us except for you. We have patiently waited for your return phone call and never received it. Today I requested your email instead and since your office refused to share it, this is the only way I can get in touch with you.. To be clear, you did credit us $5000 for the faulty job your plumber, Chad, provided but that had nothing to do with this issue and we never agreed to waive the warranty on the work we had done. We are still paying you $13,000 for the remaining work and this needs to be rectified IMMEDIATELY. The $5000 was reimbursement for:
* Connected all plumbing to the wrong address - had to contact city to come out and reconnect to our address
* Forgot to move gas line in kitchen - had to pay another plumber to move
* Installed water heater in wrong place in attic - had to pay another plumber to move
* Kitchen sink drain installed in wrong place - had to pay cabinet installer to customize cabinets around this misplaced drain
* Installed shower mixer backwards in master bath - had to pay 3rd party to tear through wall on backside since tile was already installed and flip around
* Installed drain in master shower in wrong place - had to pay 3rd party to move and centralize in shower since your plumber put it off to the side of the shower
* Did not install proper support for weight of water heater in attic - had to pay 3rd party to rebuild flooring under water heater
* Threw away lid of brand new toilet - Baker Brothers did replace toilet after we had Craig (CEO) out to our house
* Installed plumbing lines in guest bathroom for 24 vanity when we had a 36 vanity- Baker Brothers did move this line after we had Craig (CEO) out to our house
* Installed plumbing lines at wrong height and width for master vanity - Baker Brothers did move this after we had Craig (CEO) out to our house
* Installed plumbing lines for clothes washer outside of wall instead of inside wall - Baker Brothers did move this after we had Craig (CEO) out to our house
* Installed toilet in guest bathroom in wrong location that blocked shower door from opening - Baker Brothers did move this after we had Craig (CEO) out to our house
* All of Baker Brothers mistakes added 3 extra weeks onto our renovation timeline and stalled other jobs from starting (like bathroom tiling and kitchen cabinet installation)
This pressure and rumbling within the pipes has nothing to do with any of the mistakes of $5000 credit listed above. This falls under the $13,000 that we are still paying you for and that is covered under our warranty. Please contact us immediately to get this fixed. We already paid another plumber to come out and try to fix this but he said that the brand new line Baker Brothers installed from our house to the sewer has sharp angles that are causing clogs and air bubbles and will cost THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to fix. The plumbing is a little pricey but They always do a good job and the technicians are always nice. We recently had some electrical work done and the light fixtures they were sent to repair were damaged And now I have to be replaced. Not a happy outcome but they refunded the total amount that they charged us which should cover getting it fixed. I would rather not have to do this but at least they stood behind their work.

I'm only giving a star because I don't have the option to select nothing! My family had the worst customer service experience and would not ever consider your company for services again. We strongly feel like your company rips people off and it's ridiculously unethical. We had a tech, Eric come out to our house because our toilet began to continuously run and we had to literally turn the water off because it was annoying. Eric quoted us $361 to rebuild our toilet because he said he couldn't just replace parts and $732ish for a new toilet. My husband and I felt that the prices were extremely high and Eric merely took 5 minutes to look at the toilet we decide to have another company come out Thursday (Feb. 20th). The tech explained that we needed a flapper and showed us that the old flapper was warped. He replaced it and told us it was a simple job and we definitely could have done it ourselves he even told us the part was $8 - $12 dollar gave or take. So either Baker Brothers Plumbing business practice includes ripping people off (overcharging) or y'all have inexperience, untrained technicians.... either way I will post a review on BBB and my social media pages to share my experience with your company. Let me add that I'm not sure if Eric came from the Ft. Worth or Mesquite location but for a customer it doesn't matter he represents Baker Brother Plumbing!!!!

We signed up for a monthly service plan after having freon added to our AC unit.  After some time, there was a need to totally replace my unit.  Since our family service plan would allow for discounted services and products, we contacted Baker Brothers to request an estimate for a new unit.  Two requests were made, yet no one ever returned my call.  No biggie....I don't have to spend money with a company who isn't interested in providing an estimate, although my new unit cost in excess of $7K, so truthfully, their loss.

My PROBLEM is that it has been EIGHT months since we have requested  removal of the monthly service plan.  Each month, we continue to have the funds for this plan debited from out account, and each month the company is contacted again.  We are assured that this will be corrected next month, yet billing continues.

I submitted a written (email) request asking for an address to which I could mail a certified letter, as well as an escalation path.  Once again, I was assured this was the first request for discontinuation of the service plan and that next month it would be corrected.  However, I was not provided with an address to which a certified letter could be sent, not was I supplied with the recommended escalation path for unresolved issues.

I would HIGHLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS ORGANIZATION.  While I our initial needs for freon replacement was met, and the service tech was pleasant.  We believed him to truly being helpful with his recommendation of a monthly service plan, especially since we had an older unit in need of replacement.  Unfortunately all we ever received was a billing nightmare and a never ending contribution to Baker Brothers each month.

We used MSC Air Conditioning for the replacement unit.  While I have not had to request service yet, at least they were responsive to the initial request for an estimate and installed the unit swiftly.

The office staff was very helpful and courteous with helping to make an appointment and quoted the service charge. However before the electrician even looked in the electrical box he quoted a price of $352 for a diagnostic test. It turned out to be a loose wire. So we were out the cost of the diagnostic test. Then we were told we needed to replace the electrical boxes and were quoted a price of $8400. So my advice is be cautious when hiring this company. Not a good experience.

I had an appointment set up with them for some time after 12. which should have been my first clue. Well, 5:30 pm rolls around and I get a call saying they're tech has taken too long on the previous job, and they asked if I would like to reschedule.

I informed them I took a half day off of work and that's not easy as a teacher, I previously called them at 4 to ask what was going on and got a  safe They'll be right there. message. I hung up on them to be honest during the 5:30 call. Well, I called back feeling bad and I explained what happened to the lady on the phone. She informed me that due to the disconnect (me hanging up) the tech had been sent to the next job. Excuse me? You just told me he was done for the day and I would have to reschedule to another day.

I ended up calling another company the same day. Too many plumbers out there to try this again.

Very shady company. Had them out to look at the faucets outside the house. He tells me that it is over $350 to replace each one. Then tried to tell me that since he might have to cut into brick that is another $150. So for the work they wanted over $850. By the time he was through begging for my business he had dropped the price down to $400 when I told him no thanks. I mean really you jack the price up so high acting like you are selling me a car instead of plumbing service. Tried to charge me $120 to TRY to fix one of my faucets which of course tells me I have to replace. After arguing and complaining a miracle happened. The faucet there was no way he was able to fix somehow he fixed it. It is a MIRACLE!  Just really shady. Will never use again. No trust.

Scam artists.  I was promised all kinds of privileges if I purchased the family maintenance plan.  Guess what? As soon as I needed them they threw a bunch of policies at me and how they were unwilling to help me.  The original plumber was a decent guy.  But I have a sneaky suspicion that once they first guy leaves they really don't care.  Good luck with these guys.  So even though I've paid for the plan I'm taking my business elsewhere and I won't give these guys one more dime of my money.  I don't do business that way.

I wish I could give 6 stars! I have some unfortunate situations occurring in my house and involved with an insurance claim. That's the bad part. The only good part of this story has been Baker brothers and the plumbers they have sent out namely Caesar James and Adolphus who have all been exceptional and caring with my family and home while showing off their amazing experience and ability to get things done in a very tough situation. It's an absolute blessing to have these extremely qualified contractors getting the job done the right way and making my project a priority. It's pouring down raining today and they worked hard while somehow not tracking mud into the house putting down drop cloths wearing shoe covers and staying as pleasant as I've ever seen someone stay under the working conditions they are dealing with. Don't look any further just call a true professional like Baker brothers and get the job done right!

We will recommend Baker Brothers to everyone!  We had a small fire at the breaker box in our home. Luckily the fire was contained in the vicinity of the  panel because the Arlington fire department is amazing and arrived right on time. Baker Brothers sent us their best electrician.  Bradley was very professional, personable and knowledgeable.  He was punctual and his work ethic is what every company can be jealous of.  He worked a crazy long day trying to get us up and running in one day.  Understandably he had to come back for a half day but he thoughtfully made sure the hot water heater was up and running day one. Baker Brothers has by far exceeded my expectations and should be proud to have a highly valued employee in Bradley.  We thank you!

Just replaced two of our ac systems.  It was a tricky install with outdoor units on top of the house and an indoor unit in the attic.  The crew was professional and thorough.  They went above and beyond on the job - doing little extra things that just made all the difference in the outcomes.  The manager was present at the beginning of the job for quite a while, then returned at the end of the day to inspect the work and check in again.  Thank you BB (and Ozzy) for such quality work.  Always enjoy working with you guys.

Pudgy Bakers

Called this company over a leak, I have a pier and beam home with a low clearance. I asked for a very skinny plumber as this was an issue when I had called other plumbing companies before. They said they could get someone for me by the afternoon. I got a call from their dispatcher, once again I reiterated that I needed a small skinny plumber. They said, oh no worries this guy is skinny.

As soon as I saw them arrive I new that they were too big. I told them I was told I was gonna get a skinny guy. they said they would see if they could fit, but there wasn't a chance they would. I got a whole tirade about how no plumber would be able to fit and a attempted hard sell to get them to get another group to run a line test. I said no and called another plumber. They still had the nerve to charge me to come out.

Note: After writing my review I was contacted by a manager at Baker Brothers, they apologized for the mistake and offered a refund.

I'm disappointed to say the least to be writing this review.  I have used Baker Brothers for a couple of issues at my last house and recently had them come to my new home to check out the HVAC system and give me a quote to clean the air ducts and to run the gas line to the cooktop.

The HVAC guy was there for 4 hours, which is ridiculous and told me the following:
Air Duct Cleaning (showing no proof they needed to be cleaned) - $2867 standard rate or $2435 if I joined their Family Plan.
He said I needed to reroute the condensation lines $1334 standard rate and $1134 on the Family Plan.  He said if I didn't reroute the lines I would have a big problem this summer. He had a few other items, but I figured the above is enough.

Plumber - Told me they would need to run the gas line from my garage to the cooktop, which would run $2773.65 standard rate or $2375.60 with the family plan.  I asked him if he checked the other attic since there was a gas line up there, he told me he did, but didn't see a line and insisted it needed to be run from the garage.  I didn't really believe him at the time.  Then to install a master valve on the dryer, which has a gas line it would be $531.47 standard rate or $451.75 on the Family Plan.

Well I was shocked to say the least and felt their prices were extremely high so I did some research on-line and checked out pricing from other companies.  I had Cody & Sons (family owned) come out this morning and they told me the following...and they were there a total of 1 hour:   Super nice guys too!

HVAC - vent cleaning around $1400 (he ran the camera in the duct then showed me the video to prove they needed to be cleaned)
Condensation line - told me it didn't need to be fixed, it was just drooping a little and he could put a clip on it to fix the issue.  Simple fix and super cheap.

Plumber - they can run the gas line from the other part of the attic (not the garage as Baker Brothers told me, go figure) and it would run about $600.  The valve for the dryer is around $60.00.

I was told the technicians at Baker Brothers work on commission, so now it all makes sense.  They try and sell you things you don't need and clearly overcharge you!  I stupidly signed up for their Family Plan thinking they were the reputable company to go with.  Lessoned learned.  So if I were you, I would steer clear of them.

I will say that Cody, the plumber from Baker Brothers that did the work at my other house was amazing and didn't try and up-sell me so they have at least one guy with morals over there.

Baker and Brothers called 30 minutes before their folks came to my house.
Cody and his partner showed right on time.
First of what he did was to made one quick assessment of the situation and the tasks at hand.
He told right before his work start was I do not have to pay the original quoted price because I did not need something that was quoted, saved me 300 right at the batch.
Right there I felt so good and comfortable with him and the company he represents.
He and his partner did an excellent job, quick and professional.
They explained every single details of how the new water heater and its current configuration works.
I will have Baker and Brother at my speed dial for all plumbing and electricity related matters.
....a job well done Cody and to your partner too.

These guys snaked out a my main sewer line.  They were the 2nd company I called.  The first company tried to snake it for 2 hours then said I needed hydro-jetting for $800 since the snake didn't work but never put a camera up the pipe.

Kevin from Baker Brothers came out and fixed the problem in an hour with a snake after finding the issue with a camera.  To be fair I don't think the other company was trying to rip me off they just didn't have the right equipment.

Kevin gave me a quote to fix things that may prevent future problems but wasn't pushy about it.  Overall great experience.

We hired Baker Brothers to install a new hot water heater and replace an under-sink water filtration system with a new GE unit.  They did an excellent job on both projects.  They emailed me photos and backgrounds of the plumbers that would be coming to our house.  We got a call when they were on their way and they showed up on time.  There were two plumbers, one for each project as they were different in nature.  Both gave us a written estimate before proceeding and the final charges were exactly as estimated.  Both project sites were cleaned up at the conclusion of the work.  We were very pleased with their work and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them highly.

I called them with a clog.  They told me it would be an extra $200 because it was Sunday.  When I told them I could wait until Monday they told me they were busy.  These are the same guys who a few years ago quoted me $3500 for a pipe leak in my front yard.  I had it done by a reputable plumber for $600.  Maybe they should spend less on their advertising and pass the savings on to their customers.

THEIR QUOTE WAS EXORBITANT!  I had 4 sinks and 3 showers that were draining slow.  He quoted me $222 per sink and $159 per shower or tub.  He said he would give me a discount since I had so many.  I asked how much?  He said I'll tell you AFTER I finish the work.  Seriously?????  That would have been $1,365 before this secret discount!  I said I think that is REALLY high and I don't think I'm going to have you do the work.  He said oh that is comparable for whoever you call.  They also tracked mud throughout my entire house!!!

Well I just had Riddell Plumbing come out who gave me their hourly rate on the phone.  They fixed all 4 sinks and 3 showers for a grand total of $260!

We called Bakers Brothers, and a plumber came out and gave us a 250.00 Est to change the internal parts out in a Kohler toilet and another 225.00 to tighten a  toilet in a 2nd bath. I said, no thank you paid the 39.00 service charge and call a local plumber he came out and did both, including replacing the wax ring on one, for a total of 118.50.  It will be a cold day in hell before I ever call Baker Brothers again.

On a Saturday morning there was a noise in my bathroom and I could tell it was a leak, it was right behind the bathtub. I called Baker Brothers and they came out fairly quickly, I think it was in about an hour before they got here. They did a terrific job. It didn't seem like it took too long either, maybe two hours or so. I don't know how to compare their price to another plumber since I've never had this problem before but it seemed like a fair price. I would definitely hire them again.

We had a leak on a holiday weekend -- right before freezing temperatures were to arrive. We had to pay an extra service fee of $200 (which we were ok with), but he then gave us a quote of an extra $545 (on top of the $200) to permanently fix the problem. My husband hesitated then he said he could do a temporary fix (which he said might last a few weeks/months to a year) for $250 (plus service call).  We went that route and it was leaking again within days. Just had another company come out and they fixed it the correct way for $290. I would be very skeptical if you chose to do business with them based upon this business model.

I called baker brothers in Fort Worth and scheduled a time for them to come and snake out by main line between 3:00 and 4:00.  At 15 minutes till 5 I called and ask if they they were coming and after i gave the lady all of my information, she said i was not in the system. I called them late morning to come out because our water is backing up. They said they would call this afternoon at no specific time but about 30-45 minutes before they arrive.  I waited all day with my phone at my hip.  I left my phone one time and of course they called at 5:13.  I called back at 5:17. to have them tell me that I would need to reschedule for the next day. I looked at my phone and said, y'all just called 4 minutes ago and now I have to reschedule and they said yes.

Wasted my day waiting for nothing.  They should tell you if you don't answer whenever we call you, your out of luck.  Horrible customer service.

For a single person and a trusting person I feel like I was being taken advantage of. I was quoted for a 1400 square-foot house a new unit was $17,000. I got a second opinion it's only $8000 ( The difference of $9000 )The company I'm going with has been around since 1903 and very reliable I will not recommend Baker's brother. I was very upset at this. I'm posting this because I would like to see it doesn't happen to another individual I'm glad I got a second opinion.

Came out, took hours. Found leak of refrigerant. Filled it up with 7 lbs costing me over 500. It literally leaked out in a matter of hours and I just wasted all the money. Why would someone fill it back up with refrigerant knowing there was a leak. Had I been informed of a leak and the outcomes associated with refilling a leaky AC, I would have said no. And the costs of the repairs were pricey.

Absurdly expensive. Waste of my time and waste of a $$$ for a service call fee to come out and give me a ridiculous quote. Over $2000 to replace some $10 valves??? We called Baker Brothers to fix three leaky faucets and attach the water line to our ice maker. The estimate started at $1500.  I'm afraid the technician tried to take advantage of a woman at home by herself. Fortunately my wife is smarter than that. Won't be calling them again.

My 80 yr old father needed plumbing so we compromised to try Baker Brothers after seeing their TV Ad. Our previously used plumber wasn't available. No matter how a worded what was wrong and that I know a quote is ONLY based on what I told not (not anything I didn't know), their operator wouldn't give me a price range for the clogged tub. She told me there was a 'trip charge' so I should have stopped there. It's not unusual but not giving any idea of charges is. I was told $205 once the plumbers they sent out were here. I had a bad feeling but I was already out a trip charge. After we paid, I immediately called my plumber using their lingo. He said it should have been around $120 and he's a Master Plumber. He said they work on commission at Baker's Brothers and it then made since. I found out the hard way how they afford that ad too! Do Not use ever!

I would like to give a negative 5 star rating if it was possible.

Two reasons for my extreme negative experiences:
- major screw up/mistakes made by their AC technicians
- provided untrue evaluations about the repairs and upgrades to the AC unit

I will NEVER EVER do business with this company ever again: I had their family plan for two years and had four terrible mistakes on AC.

1. They first told us to install a starter on a brand new unit, and then we did. The AC blowed up afterwards bc the Baker Brothers technician wired the unit incorrectly (not mention we did NOT need the starter to be installed to begin with).

2. This year they found the freon was overloaded, and wanted to charge us ($400)  to flush the freon. Then I brought up the fact that their previous technician overloaded the freon, then they offered to fix it for free.

3. We asked for 2nd opinions and found out they lied to us that our blower motor had an oil leak (which would have costed us another $600+)

4. Also they intentionally wired air filter unit incorrectly (so the unit will breakdown earlier to be replaced with new unit) .  This air filter was installed by their recommendations as well.

I can't believe a business this dishonest and corrupt is still around today and got away with many similar complaints like mine. Do NOT believe those BBB rating, this is why it is critical to get a second opinion (even though Baker Brothers techs are good at scare customers to rush it get fixed right away!).

I will also be reposting this on my page, Yelp, Instagram, etc...for my friends list as a warning to stay away from this company.  We joined the family plan list (will soon be un-joining it).  After utilizing them for a couple odd and end items around the house that we got the up sales tactics on almost everyone of them our AC unit upstairs stopped blowing cold air.  We decided hey... we have the family plan with Bakers so let's just use them. BIG MISTAKE!  Somehow our five year unit upstairs could not be fixed and had to be completely replaced.  $15k later we are on the install date of which they keep trying to get us to replace another one of the units downstairs which has been working great.  Install day- bedrooms unit no longer is blowing cold air.  After talking with the tech he goes it must have had the power knocked out. He tinkers with it and it starts blowing cold air again but it never stopped.  We wake up to all the bedrooms downstairs at 59 degrees.  We call and they send someone out who says it was wired weird and he has never seen that before and was amazed it was even working.  He tinkers with it now it won't blow cold air again.  Mind you THIS UNIT worked perfectly until they installed the new one.  Now they are telling us it will be two days until they can send someone out to fix what they broke.  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

We've been in our house for 20 years, and have experienced a slow drain/backup issue on one side of the house ever since we moved in.  We've had dozens of plumbers take a look over the years and after all of them would run their snake through the lines and declare the issue resolved, it would turn up again in a matter of weeks.

We had used Baker Brothers several years back for a slab leak that was covered by insurance (yay State Farm!) and they did such an outstanding job we decided to call them out on this issue, even with the reputation for high prices.  In this day and age you tend to get what you pay for, within reason.

The appointment was scheduled for between 8:30 and 9:30, and the tech, Chris, arrived at 9:00.  How refreshing to have a service person arrive when they say they will!

To make a very long story short(ish), Chris spent 6 hours doing everything he possibly could to fix the issue, but due to circumstances outside his control (think 40+ year of home with iron pipes and 40 years of sludge built up in one section) the standard snake through the pipe and video camera diagnostic couldn't fix this issue, and we're looking at some major work moving forward.

Chris gave us several options and we'll be mulling those over.  Unfortunately the current options of rerouting pipes outside the house are costly ones, and for now we'll live with the slow drain.

Chris was the 1st plumber in all these years to actually identify and locate the issue, and he gave 110% today. One could not ask for more dedication.  You hate receiving the bad news, but we know that every effort was made to fix the issue and this is one of those PITA situations where the only option is going to be a costly one.

I thought Baker Brothers was better than what I ended  up with.  They installed 2 tankless water heaters and I told them that I wasn't getting hot water to my bathroom or the kitchen, they said that it has to go to far and that is why it gets cold by the time it gets there.  I recently had a plumber come out to fix a clogged sink and he checked the water heaters and said the circulation pump was not hooked up.  That is what keeps the hot water going to all areas of the house.  I spent a lot with Baker Brothers over the last 2 years and was very disappointed to hear that they never really finished the job.  Would not recommend unless you have tons of money to waste.  My daughter also used them for a toilet repair and not happy with that job either and it wasn't cheap.  Think twice before calling them. I have given them a good review in the past but after finding out why I was having problems, never again. Just noticed still has old address, now living in Arlington, Texas

We had Baker Bro's our to our home for a gas leak and it has been nothing short of a nightmare. The initial tech that came out said they would take care of it no problem, looked like a riser was leaking and needed repair. After replacing 2 risers, our gas line still couldn't hold pressure. At this point they threatened to send my account to the city DA as I hadn't paid the remainder balance since the job wasn't complete yet and at this point going on for 2 months without any progress. I was stunned they would demand full payment when nothing had been done to fix our gas leak. The bill was fairly outrageous as it was inflated by the plumber working at Baker bros which in turn lead me to call about the price when they quoted the work and the price that was billed to me. Lo and behold, the plumber who did the work at our house was being put on leave due to him inflating the bills of over a dozen clients including myself. Gas line is still NOT fixed and customer service is of no help. STAY AWAY!

Called and made an appointment for a broken garbage disposal - was very clear to the schedulers about all that I had done to try and fix it myself first in case it was something out of their expertise. Two plumbers came, nice enough guys i suppose. I was very clear to both of them of all the exact troubleshooting techniques I had used already (pressed the reset button underneath, unstuck the blades from underneath). Even said: I think it might need to be taken apart and cleaned out. I am no garbage disposal expert, and didn't realize that's not actually a feasible action to take. Anyway, the plumbers proceeded to then try the EXACT same fixing techniques I had just told them I had already done. When those didn't work for them either, they said they don't take appliances apart (beyond their expertise! And they ONLY make sure water comes through the pipes, that's the entirety of their job they said) and that i should replace it for $400+. They also told me it didn't look rusted but since disposals only last 5 years (google says 10-15 years actually), it was probably shot. I declined their offer to replace it...a new one from Home Depot is ~$100 and I didn't think $300+ for 30 minutes of labor was worth it for me. They kindly left after collecting my $100 for a diagnostic fee. I have since found out that my disposal is only 1 year old, still under warranty - the company is sending me a brand new one for free right now. I will be replacing it myself when it arrives. I felt they were trying to manipulate me into replacing it and weren't honest about their abilities until after they'd already ensured they would leave with at least some amount of payment from me. I would not recommend this company and would not use them in the future.

It was a dude with a snake and they quoted $265 to go through all the drains in the house, which is high but screw it.

He asked where the service was under the house, but he took one look and pretty much said screw that. I'm 6'2 and have crawled my ass under the house, I'm not sure what this guy thought he was going to be doing when he signed up to be a plumber, but crawling under houses is pretty high on the list of stuff you're going to have to do.

From there the guy hits his first snag with his high tech snake and tells me flatly that I need to replace all the drains in my house... (for roughly $2k) which may be true now that he's rooted all the sludge in the line down to one spot.

He left me with a drain that is now completely jammed up, no temporary fix or suggestions as to a resolution. He took my $$ and told me to call Baker again to line on an estimator... thanks buddy!

The next day they called for a survey, which I of course unloaded on them... but in a civil manner (really). The woman said she'd have a supervisor call me right away, no one ever called.. which is why I wrote this review.

Had to use a different plumbing company today as the usual one was not available. Called Baker Brothers this morning, and they had called me back within 30 minutes and someone was out at my house before noon. They even sent a text ahead of time with the technician's name and photo he would be working at my house. Joey came out, and he was so professional, friendly and not only did he do his work in a timely manner, he even looked under my sink to see if he could find a cleaner to wipe down the toilet! (He cleans and puts the seat down!!Wow! ;)

Baker Brothers receives an A from me as does Joey.

What a breath of fresh air! Over the last few years of owning my home, I have had multiple contractors out for various repairs and installations. Almost without fail, I am left dissatisfied. My experience with Baker Brothers was different. When I called, they offered to send someone out that day. Instead, I asked for someone the next day at a time of my choosing (choosing your own appointment time, without a large window, is something most do not do, but it is huge). Dustin and his assistant came out, assessed the problems, and very quickly fixed them right the first time.

I will say that there was a little sticker shock when Dustin first told me the prices, but I did not shop around and have no reason to believe that the prices are not competitive. After I decided to limit the repairs due to the price, Dustin did cut down the cost significantly. I wish that they would just give their lowest price upfront, but at least in this case they did not so be sure to ask if there are any discounts. I was also very happy that the price quoted before repairs was exactly what I ended up paying. I hopefully will have no need for a plumber in the immediate future, but if I do, I will be calling Baker Brothers.

We were on the family plan and had BB out for winter inspection. Guy checked on the attic units, came down and told me I had 3 options...first would cost about $9,000, option 2 was about $6,000 and the minimum he recommended was $3,000. Asked him if anything posed a safety risk. He didn't think so but said my units were old and might fail. Said it could be very inconvenient. He was pretty insistent about getting the work scheduled.
Called a second company who sent a plumber and after a lengthy inspection came down and told me everything looked fine. Said units were a little older but he had pressure tested everything and it was in good condition.
This was not my first questionable experience with BB but it will be my last. Maybe they need to up sell to pay for all that advertising.

My master plumber, Dave C, is the best, he not only took care of needs already scheduled, but was very patient while I showed him many issues that needed attention - great job! I will call and schedule my next necessary plumbing needs, it's nice to know you care! Many thanks to my new friend, Dave. As a widow, I feel confident calling on Baker Brothers! Good work, good price, good people! Thanks again- Bianca

I joined their family plan which includes 2 ac/heating check up a year. The last 2 checkups were performed by 2 different techs, each of whom presented me with a list of recommended improvements. The 2 lists were entirely different. It appears that checkups are just an opportunity to sell unneeded modifications. The tech were very high pressure. Not appreciated. My house is 3 years old.

They also promote the concept that family plan members get preferential treatment. They say they provide 24 hour emergency service, yet when I was in need of help with a plumbing emergency, a phone call answering service recording received my call and my call was never returned.

I called on a Saturday and they were responsive and had Chad come in soon enough. I have a leak by my main valve.

However, Chad just looked at the area, which was wet, then immediately pointed to the tree about 7 feet away and said that was the problem and wanted to replace the whole underground line.

I told him he didn't even inspected the leak because I've seen it twice.  The city sanitary engineer pumped out the water from the box last week to expose the leak and pointed to the fitting two inches downstream of the water meter which did have a small leak.   A sprinkler guy I spoke with this morning also pumped out the water and pointed to the same fitting and recommended I call a plumber.  Even as I told him that, Chad didn't even bother to look at it, just stood there saying he's seen this many times in 25 years.   Then he made an estimate, again without even opening the box and looking at the leak I was referring to.

So the guy came in, saw a pool of water, blamed the tree and wanted in excess of $3k to change the entire line.

We called Baker Bros to replace an old gas water heater. Sean was intelligent, friendly, and professional. He had the job done in about two hours and walked me thru how to check the heater. Couldn't have asked for anything more.

We called them again two weeks later for a leaky hose bibb (wall faucet). Mike came out and knocked it out quickly and professionally. He even called in my brick repair for me.

Not sure why there are so many complaints. Plumbing isn't cheap to fix and it can't be diagnosed over the phone.

Please stay away from these shysters. It's a shame you can't give zero stars. We spent thousands with Baker Brothers. Among some repairs were that we needed a gas line replaced last November. I gave them a map of our sprinkler lines to ensure they didn't run into them. They ended up breaking the line but never telling me, and I didn't find out until the Spring when we turned the sprinklers back on. I called Baker Brothers, who of course would not do anything about it.

Flash forward a bit. Our AC unit stopped working and we and a free tuneup with them with our contract we signed the year before. Idiotically. The AC guy filled us up with the wrong type of refrigerant and I had to have someone in to replace the whole system. How did I know? I had more than one tech tell me that the refrigerant used was wrong.

I called and demanded a refund, (it was only $200 but it was the principle here) and I then demanded to be let out of our service contract, because why should I have to pay them a monthly premium when they not only break things but use the wrong product, and then lie about it? They were pretty nasty about the whole process.

Flash forward another few months. It's a Sunday and our plumbing backs up completely. I called four or five places but no one was available. Desperate, I called Baker Brothers. They schedule us. Then the lady calls me back-- I'm sorry, she says, you're on the do not service list. Like we were deadbeats or something else awful. Great customer service! It was very much my mistake for thinking they could ever have helped us out of a jam, seeing as though we had spent over $6000 with them last year. But talking my way out of their stupid contract and having them fix their own mistake made me a deadbeat customer, apparently! Pathetic. What a terrible company. Don't use them. I'm very glad we are on that list now-- won't call them even if our house is flooded. Awful company.

Today I had my furnace inspected for the first time after being in my home for 12 years.  Being a home owner has more to the picture than what's shared. Today's service was free with my Bakers Brothers membership. The senior technician was very knowledgeable and provided some great tips on how to make the air in my home cleaner and what services I needed to avoid future failure of my system. I appreciated the education and service. I highly recommend. We all know when it come to large systems in our house it's not cheap but the pricing I get with Bakers Brothers is better than most.

I've used Baker Bros three times now (sewer leak, changing leaky washing machine connector, and unclogging drain), and the work was done quickly and efficiently. They usually get to the site earlier than the agreed to appointment time (which can be a little annoying when I'm leaving work, but works out well if I'm already at home). Prices are a little on the high side (which is why I'm taking off a star), but no concerns with their work, and I'll con't to use their services.

I had a technician named Derek come out. He actually looked better in person! He exhibited genuine  professionalism and mainly explained everything in detail about my soon to be outdated system. No one likes bad news but it's  nice not to feel pressured or like ur gonna get screwed. When the time comes for me to have a new unit installed, I would hope he'll be the person to do it. Told him to leave he said I owed 200 for what he had done so far, I said undo it he said I would have water all over if he did. This place is a total rip off. This is my first time using Baker Brothers and this is a worst experience I have had with any professional services company. Do not go with Baker Brothers!! Details below.

Phase 1 - Repairs
I bought their family membership plan and called them for my annual AC inspection. I have 2 HVAC units and both were working absolutely fine.
The technician did show up on time, did inspections and walked me into trap of high cost repairs. He offered me 3 options - A) Do nothing, B) Necessary Repairs and c) Nice to do repairs. I should have taken a second opinion before committing on the repairs. I went ahead with the necessary repairs and within 2 weeks post so called repairs, both of my HVAC units went bust. First re-visit when system stopped working (post repairs) was free. For second call, within days when system again stopped working - they tried charging me visit charge again plus additional repairs. Technician assured me that any money spent on the repairs would be compensated if units go bust and if I buy a new HVAC from them. After a few days, I gave up on my old units and started getting estimates for new system.

I will not name the technician as Baker Brothers as a organization is responsible for integrity and customer satisfaction.

Phase 2 - New HVAC Estimates
In short, Baker Brothers came out as the costliest of them all. I took estimates from Costco, Sears Home Improvement, Home Depot, Lowes, local reputed HVAC companies and Baker Brothers cost estimate was the highest .. huh! They have multiple tiers - Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum etc and bottom most package - cost of Bronze package was at least 30-40% higher than them all.

Hope this review will help you take a more informed decisions, help save your hard earned money and help to avoid experience of dealing with companies like Baker Brothers.

My MIL just had a slab leak repaired by BB today.  They did charge an initial $325? fee to locate it and make a plan of action to fix it.  Although initially planning to jack hammer into slab, after realizing that pipe was under a load-bearing wall and in a precarious place, we all discussed doing a bipass and using pex piping and rerouting the line overhead: saving us over $1500! We also got 2 new water heaters that have 6 year part/service warranties.  Julio, Marco, Devin and Steve worked hard for many hours in a very hot garage and even hotter Texas attics!  They were all dripping with sweat and put in a ton of work.  All were very kind and went above and beyond with working around obstacles and cleaning up a ton of our dirt !  Johnny was helpful to make the scheduling all work out today and kudos for taking care of us quickly, kindly, respectfully, and at a reasonable price!

Had service yesterday which took no more than 10 minutes since it was just a clogged kitchen sink pipe which caused my garbage disposal not to work. I knew that was where the issue was but didn't feel comfortable undoing the small pipe under the sink. He did very quickly and saw the obstruction. I would like to emphasize that for ten minutes of work I was charged 160.00 dollars. I don't know too many people who make that kind of rate including some doctors. Ridiculous and I felt like this was not justified.

I have used Baker Bros in the past to install a new water heater.  That job was done very well .. so I decided to give them a call when a pipe in our washroom wall began leaking.  They responded promptly and had a plumber out that afternoon.  They sent a picture and name of the technician and what time he would be there. Jonathan came out and diagnosed the problem quickly and did a very professional job with the repair... he even snaked the pipe for us at no charge .  I would certainly recommend Baker Bros and Jonathan for any plumbing needs .

I paid Baker Brothers more than $2,000 for a new water heater. Two hours after they left, I had no hot water. I called them back and they sent a different technician, but it took 3 hours for him to get here. He found that the pilot light was never lit, and the thermostat was never set. In addition, we paid extra for an automatic safety shut off, and the first technician didn't connect electricity to the automatic shut off. I am canceling my contract with BB and switching to a different plumbing company.

Honestly, I'm not understanding the lower reviews.  I've had Baker Brothers out to my home multiple times in the last six months.  It's an older house and has it's issues:  electrical, plumbing, and AC.  I've never dealt with more professional or polite folks in my life.  Each individual that came out was just as polite as the last.  They are very knowledgeable and work as quickly as they can to get the job done.

I called Baker Brothers (and about 10 other plumbers) at 6am on a Saturday when my commercial water heater quit working in our business.  Since we depend on it for our entire operation, it needed to be fixed ASAP.  Baker Brothers was the first to call me back, at about 6:30am so I scheduled them to come out.  The plumber arrived at around 2:30PM and informed me that nobody in Dallas stocks parts to repair commercial water heaters. and went on to inform me that it will take 3 weeks to get the parts to repair my 8 month old water heater.  He kept trying to move the conversation away from fixing my water heater, to convincing me to let him install 3 new tankless water heaters for $15,000.  But he was tricky in the way he said his prices.  He'd say one five two three five point three two.  As if he was trying to hide the fact that he was quoting me $15,000.  I repeatedly told him that wasn't an option, but asked him how much would it cost for them to just sell me another brand new identical water heater and have them install it and what would the turnaround time be.  He replied that it would be four or five thousand and he could do it in the next day or two.  Later in the conversation, I asked him for a firm price and he quoted me $10,000+ to sell me a new identical water heater.  When I asked him what happened to the $4-5K price, he said oh that was just a guess.  But I actually said $5-6K (which he didn't).

For starters, if nobody stocks parts to repair commercial water heaters, why did they send me a technician out and charge me a weekend charge for it, knowing they couldn't fix it.  But I knew this just couldn't be the case.  I mean, we're in Dallas.  He kept telling me that the supply houses just don't stock the parts for commercial water heaters because they aren't as common as residential.  This is totally untrue.  I mean, every restaurant, laundromat, etc. has some kind of commercial water heating system and there's just no way all these companies wait 3 weeks for parts.

I called another company that was recommended by a friend.  Their emergency service line called me right away and got some more info about my problem and asked if she could call her master plumber and call me back.  She called me minutes later and said great news, we can work on that model of water heater, but bad news.  The parts houses that stock commercial water heater parts aren't open on the weekends so we can't fix it until Monday or Tuesday.  So it won't do us any good to do an emergency visit for you so we'll get you in for our next available appointment.  Now THAT is the answer I expected.

It's unfortunate that we were anxiously awaiting this repair, only to be told that it was not going to be fixed for so long.  I think the guy knew that he could make a sale since he knew our business depended on hot water, so he tried to take advantage of that fact.

EDITED TO ADD:

The business day following this review, one of the managers gave me a call.  He apologized for the plumbers actions and waived the service call fee.  I'm moving this review from its original 1 star to 3 stars for their attention to this matter.  It probably wasn't fair of me to bash the whole company based on the actions of an individual employee.

I'm also going to add that our water heater was fixed in 5 minutes by another company this morning, without needing any parts.

On April 12, 2018, 2:00pm, Chester, a Certified Technician for Baker Brothers, Plumbing and Air Conditioning located at 2615 Big Town Blvd, Dallas TX 75150, made a service call for routine scheduled maintenance.  Needless to say, the original service call was scheduled for a time of 9am CST, followed by another service call time change which was set for 12pm, (both times in the same day). To me being on time is everything. Being late is something I do have a problem with, most especially when you have other things planned, but not doing the job correctly and trying to sell the customer on services that one is under the assumption of needing to me is something I'm not willing to comprehend and is another thing all together, most especially when I as the customer before this routine visit was sitting in a residence with a room temperature of 72 degree's {Record Hi was 93 degrees, (weather.com/weather/mont…)}, only to be left with a room temperature of 78 degrees and climbing over a day and half to 90 degrees, where the entire house felt like the 10th Level of Hell.  The house was hot and the air conditioning system was completely out of whack after Chester's (Certified Tech for Baker Brothers) left. However, before that, and after he completed his inspection of the upstairs and down the stairs units, he presented his findings by means of notes, invoices, and images.  First, he stated that both units were in the process of going out, that the house still had the original units dating back to 2004, and that there was the possibility of an organic substance upstairs within the attic, and that it was advisable that I replace my entire ac unit soon before summer hit. As Chester was running through his sales pitch not one time did he ever make eye contact with me which I found disturbing.  He then closed his pitch by stating that he could have his guys out to the residence in no time and that they had different financing options.  Nothing personal right, just $10K to $18K and you wonder why I'm not smiling at this point.  These numbers that I'm referring too were the figures that came off his invoices that he had prepared. I politely explained to him that of the 2 units that he said were both old and about to go, one of the units, the Concord, was replaced as of last year in 2017, while the other ac unit, which just needed minor repairs was the original unit, however parts that were necessary were replaced. He again proceeded to express the condition of my situation with regards to the AC Units, only for my rebuttal to be that I would need to sit down with my fiancé where we would both take time to go over the documentation that was left for are review. As I previously mentioned earlier within this acknowledgement, after Chester's departure, the temperature of the entire house began to gradually increase. At first, I didn't think of it to be an immediate problem because after his departure he turned the air back on or so I thought.  I noticed that the temperature during his visit was still at the levels while he was performing his analysis. In response to this I adjusted the levels of both units back to where they originally were before Chester came and I activated all the ceiling fans in the house (Upstairs and Down Stairs).  Later that day, around 7:45pm, the heat was still constant, not hot but I noticed that the temperature was different than before, but not as severe as the next day. On 4/13/18 at time of 9am it was still hot.  It was also during this time that both units, upstairs and downstairs were still running.  At this point I did find it to be a little questionable because that never happened with either one of the units before. At that point I still didn't know what was going on.  When I made my way back to both thermostats I noticed that the temperature on the down the stairs unit had risen to 80 while the upstairs unit was 74.  I again adjusted the temperature down to 74 and then left the house to run some errands.  I thought that if I did this that the temperature would climb down to decent levels and that things would be back to normal, but I was again mistaken.  Around 7:45pm, the temperature was now at 90. I also noticed that it was too late to call Baker Brothers.  At this point I began to go back over everything that Chester had touched in order to make sure that nothing was left out of place. The first place that I went to was outside in order to check on both the AC units where upon my inspection I came across a BLACK HANDLE where bottom of the handle was composed of 2 copper prongs. This device or fuse was left on top of the outside boxes that links to the old unit while the 2nd box connects to the Concord.  It was only after opening the 2nd box and doing 10 minutes of research that I began to realize what the function of this peace was. Power was immediately restored to the old unit after plugging this component back in. It took a day and half to fix their mess.

Michael from Bakers Brothers came out the same day I called. Gave an estimate and our options. We had 3 other quotes from various companies and decided to go with Michael because he was the one that would be doing the work. We came this morning and found the leak in less than an hour. Abandoned the line and ran a new water line. Cleaned up and finished by 4:00. The price was the exact estimated price. He was very helpful and informative. Highly recommended. I'm glad I went with bakers brothers. I had several neighbors recommended them on the Nextdoor app. I will do the same.

They did my AC, had the best price by over 600$ and saved me the cost of a crane by carrying my 2 ton AC unit on to the roof.. they really went above and beyond. they fixed my water heater drain pipe that was in the same space as the heating element. I am going to sign up for the Family plan have them out three times a year to service my brand new HVAC unit and when/if my other unit goes I plan on call them to replace it. Before they left they practically cleaned my whole downstairs!

Highly highly recommend for HVAC work!

I called about a leak at the base of my backyard faucet, which comes up out of the ground. Ralph came out to see me late in the day, and was great. He explained things to me in a way that wasn't condescending, which has been a problem for me with plumbers in the past. I watched him work for a bit, and he explained what he was doing, and why. He also showed me the cause of the leak, and explained how it might have happened, so I could prevent it in the future. I also got an estimate for some future work. Minus one star for the price, which was painful, but probably just the nature of plumbing costs in my area. Good experience. Would call again.

Baker Brothers isn't cheap;  but they are dead-bang reliable, and hyper-competent.  Clogged branch drain, Garrett was over in like 30 minutes from my original phone call (!), and had the whole thing fixed in less than an hour.

While Garrett was kind of the star today, scheduling the appointment was really pleasant; enough that I specifically remember it.  Small thing, but all the small (and big) things add up to a great experience, and experience is what I'm paying for.

What can I say?  I gotta recommend them, even though they'll never be low bid.

Just had them come out on a Saturday because I have a 17 month old and in the Texas heat I had to pay the 200.00 dollar fee. Spent another 345.00 on a new capacitor. And was told Im going to need to spend 10,000 dollars or else we will burn in our house along with my little kiddo. Well turns out my neighbor has been working on AC and Heating for over 30 and asked me how much I paid told him 543.00. He started laughing and showed me what was the short term issue a wired was not even clamped to the connector. Was causing it to over heat. He said you will be good for a couple weeks but the capacitor, he apparently just replaced and spent 345 dollars on is going to need to be replaced. Well he said he can get the part for 50 and just throw him 20 for hooking it up which he said will take him less then 10 minutes. This company has no value or honesty. I almost had to pull out money out of my kids college fund. When he said 10k to fix. Neighbor said you literally just got had in the worst way. I was going to give the Tech 3 stars but cant do it. He was going to watch me go broke on dropping 10k and would have laughed about it to everyone. Oh and beware of there site you cant write a review directly on their site so they only put high star reviews. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!!  Please if you do call 3 or 4 diffrent opinions.

The pilot light went out on our water heater.  They came and informed us that the Honeywell electronic igniter was broken (which we already knew), but they WOULD NOT GET THE PART FOR US.  We could have to get the part ourselves & they would come back & install it.  It was not clear why they would not get it for us like any normal plumbing company would do.  After some back & forth with them, during which the guy went outside my garage so I couldn't hear what he was saying on the phone, he came back in and said they would do it after all since Apex Plumbing Supply was nearby.  The part was in warranty, but somehow the bill was still $400.  I know the part wasn't more than $150 & probably much less.  It took maybe 15 minutes to install.  What a ripoff.  Needless to say, we will not be calling them again!

Mario flat out lied saying only option was to get a whole new unit..when coils could have been replaced. He, also said outside unit had a pinhole leak when it did not. He also told us we need 6-7 pounds of refrigerant when we only needed 2. I would not recommend them he wax here about 10 mins and said only option is new unit on-site and out for 6500-15000 . I told him we would look into it. I had my home warranty company come out. He said yoh might have  leak in the could but nothing substantial.. You only needed 2 lbs of refrigerant ..no leak on outside unit.. AC works great... Do not use these guys unless you're willing to be lied to and robbed.. ROGER the GM defended Mario and his lies..so even though Mario lied be didn't care!!!

Way to expensive.  I had a toilet that would not stop running.  Plumber finally came out and charged me $240 and that was after the $50 internet coupon.  He spent about 15 minutes installing the parts.  Never again.

We are in the process of moving, and needed to have the water shut off valve replaced that goes to our icemaker / refrigerator.  We had good luck in the past with Baker Bros, so contacted them. Their plumber came out, looked briefly at the valve, then began typing away at his ipad.  He then quoted us between $1,200-$1,500 as he said he needed to cut into the drywall, cut out the pipe, reinstall a new pipe with a new shut off valve. Then we would be responsible for patching the drywall at an additional expense.  We declined and just asked for the bill for the service call. He then called his Manager, and they tried to start negotiating. We declined, paid for the service call and asked him to leave. We then called our Realtor and got the name of a reputable local plumber.  The reputable plumber came out, turned off the water and UNSCREWED the faulty shut off valve (yes, it was threaded, not soldered).  Repair took about 15 minutes and cost a less than 20% of what Baker Brothers quoted.

I see your commercials on WFAA noon news almost every day.  Recently when we had a leak in our back yard, I called your company.  Excellent telephone customer service. With my help, the technician evaluated the job and called in to get an estimate.  Central command came back with almost $1600!  I didn't have much choice as I was going to get charged a service call whether I did, or did not have the work done, Your technician and I found the line causing the leak and cut the 3/4 PVC line and capped it. Cost?  Over $700 for less than two hours work with my assistance and a 3/4 PVC cap, some primer and glue.  Your technician was very polite and I have no issues with him.  But I feel like I have been taken advantage of being a senior citizen on a fixed income.

I'm sure you have many satisfied customers and reviews.  But certainly I would not recommend you, not based on customer service and technician politeness and knowledge, but on outrageous pricing for your services.

You're off my preferred list.

We have used BB in the past 17 years since we have owned our home. Found a leak in our house and my wife called and they assured her for $39 that they would come tell us where the leak was coming from and give us an estimate. That is not what happened yesterday, the guy said that the $39 was for him crossing the threshold into the house, It would take another $498 to locate the problem and then he could give me an estimate on how much to fix. Not a good way to do business, win/win for BB and a loss for the consumer.

I did receive a call from the manager concerning this matter and he seemed pretty sincere and apologetic, so that gave me some hope. He advised he would refund the $99 service charge I paid and explained to me that the tech should have reviewed more options. I decided to update my review from 1 star to two stars because they at least tried to make it right. I will increase the rating once I actually use their service in the future.

Where to start... Try any other company but this one.  Was quoted $4500 for two new air conditioning units last summer and went elsewhere for $2800.  Sadly, I had already bought their yearly maintenance plan and couldn't get out of the contract until I moved.

So tried them again the following summer when we moved because I was locked into the maintenance contract and we had two minor issues found in a home inspection report.  The tech rescheduled at 7pm (when he finally showed) for the next day because he said the repairs were too involved.  Never ended up doing any repairs the next day and told me I misunderstood the night before.  Only performed the maintenance.  He didn't have any knowledge of mini-split maintenance which I specifically asked about when scheduling my appointment & never repaired two minor vent issues which I specifically scheduled beforehand with the operator to be done with the maintenance agreement.  In addition, the tech came up with two pages of minor repairs that he said had to be done ($2000).  I called back a separate repair company to handle my initial two repairs.  This company did the repairs for $250 and only performed one of the baker Brothers guy repairs saying the others were unnecessary.  Finally I asked Baker Brothers guy for an additional quote - he quoted me $3000 for pulling up under house duct work off ground (got it done for $250).

We moved.  I finally broke my maintenance contract.  Good riddance.

I'm so mad I didn't check reviews before calling.  I requested a tune up and they quoted me a ridiculously high price to replace an evaporator coil ($3000) and rusted drain pan found during the tune-up.  It was so high, I said I might as well get a new air conditioner!

So he quickly gives me quotes for a new A/C starting at $8,000 and up to $11,000.  Something didn't seem right because I know air conditioner installations are MUCH cheaper than that on average.  He was probably only showing the higher end units.

Thank goodness I went online later to research the evaporator coil repair.  I called around and found someone reputable that would do it for $1500 LESS. I also didn't need a new drain pan as suggested.

I hope Baker Brothers is paying attention to all these reviews.  A few bad reviews is one thing but seems a lot of people seem to have gripes.... and a lot seem to deal with pricing.  That is definitely my biggest gripe.

I had them repair some of the things found during the tune-up and regret it. After more research, I found out I was overcharged for this one hour's worth of work. Lesson learned.

Called because of their advertisements and promises of being trustworthy and on time. Called them on Friday and made a Monday AM appointment. They have a 30 minute window. Got up early Monday to get the dog on to daycare to have her out of the way. During the morning rush, I revived a text telling who my tech was and that he would be here soon. More rush set in because I wanted to hold up my end of the bargain. About 5 minutes after the text I received a call and was asked if I could be placed on high priory with a 45 minute call ahead. I cancelled. Was totally against what they advertise and it didn't sound like they cared about my schedule or expenses tied up in preparing for their visit. Bad

I would not recommend Baker Bros for plumbing work. Called on Saturday morning and they said they could have someone out on Monday. I called at 12;30 on Monday to check on status, they said we will be the next call after they finish current job. I called again at 3:30pm, they said we will be the next call after they finish current job. Apparently they only have one crew. Once they arrived at 4:30pm they checked out the broken pipe which was leaking, pulled out the book which said it is a $533 charge to replace the pipe. OUCH... 45 minutes later they were done. That equates to $700 per hour fee. I will never use Baker Bros again

I love this plumbing company! I had a late night emergency where the attic water heater exploded and was pouring water down through the hallway fixtures! Could not get water off! They came at quickly at 2am, did not overcharge, saved the day and installed a new water heater for us the next week. They also diagnosed other problems for us months later and have cleaned our drains..well. We have had it done before by other companies but they didn't get to the deep parts. It's been a week and our drains our functioning so much better now. They have specialists for all the different plumbing issues so different guys for drains vs heater. All techs have been knowledgeable, proficient, and communicate well.

This has to be the single worst experience I have encountered. These folks will lie at will, not only do they not care about your personal belongings they are in my opinion very under insured as they do not even carry a surety bond. I attempted to call 6 times yesterday with no luck, only when I left a message for Jimmy Dale (owner) did I suddenly get a phone call from a Man named Craig who represents himself as the GM. I continue to have nothing but the runaround from this company. I paid my bill with a cashiers check and took it on the chin, but trust me this is very far from being over.  If you are a senior citizen or are not able to stand and pay close attention to their every move while in your home please beware!

I went with this place because they had a high rating on Angie's List - wow! How misleading was that!

Had I to do it over again, I would have choosen another Plumbing company and avoided Baker Brothers Plumbing all together.

I recently had my foundation repaired the first weekend in March 2012 and wanted to confirm that it didn't break any water pipes in the process, so I called Baker Brothers out to do an assessment ... what they tried to do is take me for a ride!

Just to make the house call and run a basic water pressure check (something I could have done on my own I found out later for free) I was quoted $250, but once the guy arrived he started tacking on charges, such as $120 just to remove the elbow joint (or something) on the toilet.  If I didn't pay and he broke it I would be on me to fix he said (which sounded a bit threatening to me - as if I didn't pay it he might break the piece out of spite).

I stopped the guy and asked, Is there anything else I need to know about - hidden fees, costs, associated with any of the work your doing - please let me know now before you proceed.

They guy got defensive, which surprised me, because repair men in the past have always proactively stopped and shown me what to expect cost wise when it came to a repair - even shown me the part that was broken and why it needed to be fixed, but this guy couldn't tell me anything about what he was doing, which caused a flag to go up in my mind.

I had general contractor on site at the same time inspecting the house for the cosmetic repair work which needed to be done and upon hearing the conversation even he said that didn't sound right - that in his 30 years he had never had a repair person not walk him through the process before when he didn't understand.

The guy with Baker Brothers ran in and out o the house to his truck a number of times, removed the toilet and ran water non-stop down the sewage drain and fiddled around with some instruments. Then he came back and told me I had a small leak in one of my pipes that I was losing x amount of pressure over x amount of time - but not to be concerned about it at this time, however he did claim to have found a sewage leak and wanted to charge me and additional $1,250 to do an exploratory search for it (which would involved drilling through the slab foundation) ... once they found the leak there would be a cost for the repair, and a cost to repair the drilling.

I stopped the guy right there and asked him to break the cost and steps down for me in detail, but he wouldn't.  At that point I thanked him for his time and said I would discuss the matter with my husband.  The guy stood and stared at me.  I had to tell him again - thank you, I'll follow up once I speak with my husband.  I thought the guy was going to throw his clip board down - it was obvious by the look on his face he was upset I was telling him to leave.

We went out to his truck for something and when he came back his attitude had softened, but not by much - my $250 inspection ended up being $450 when all was said and done with all the little charges.

Since the inspection, we haven't touched the sewage line and there hasn't been any back-ups and the water bill has not changed since before the house was leveled.

This is not a company I would ever call or deal with again.  The person who came out genuinely appeared to be trying to take advantage of the situation and was incredibly unprofessional.  I felt like he expected me to take his word on what he was telling me at face value and not get a second option.   If you're considering working with this company - beware!

Wow! Nathan came out and did a very thorough examination of both the heating & A.C. systems. He was able to explain what work needed to be done and why; he recommended upcoming work, discussing a variety of options. He just called back to say that the heating work could be complete tomorrow- so we will have HEAT forb Thanksgiving (that is safe heat, as our old units were not vented.) Great job, well explained, and quotes for service written out clearly. I look forward to working with Baker Brothers!

We had to call a plumber to our house due to underground soil erosion from a disconnected pipe. The techs at Baker Brothers were out there within 24 hours, used a state of the art video scope to diagnose the problem, and gave us solutions that didn't break the bank. The most surprising part of the situation was the hand written note thanking us for our business. You don't see that level of customer service anymore. Baker Brothers exceeded our expectations in every way!

Bad news: Water heater let loose a cascade of water from my attic through the second floor and into a waterfall of water through the vent in my master bedroom at 2:00 a.m.

Good News: I found a Baker Brothers You Tube video on how to shut off water to just heaters so I could turn water main back on. They came out that afternoon and put in new water heaters that work great at a reasonable price.

Here is where they earned the 5th star. They carefully picked up every scrap of insulation off the carpet, put my water main shutoff key back where it was and even coil up the garden hoses that were draining the units when they arrived neatly on my front step. Brian Spindle and partner were outstanding!

Called Baker Brothers to look at our French drain.  Told me it would be $39.95 and they were on time.  I told them before they came out, drain needed to be cleaned out.  They got here, told me it would be $223.00.  I agreed to that assuming it would be cleaned and completed.  Nope that price was just to take their $6,000 piece of equipment off the truck to diagnose the problem, which was broken pipe for about 50 ft of the drain. I get an estimate of over $2,500 to replace approximately 50 feet of the drain and that is after my family plan discount.  I declined that estimate since I found that to be outrageous.  Today I tried to dispute the $223 since NO work was done yesterday on the French drain and was told that was the charge to diagnose the issue.  What happened to the $39.95?  Terribly disappointed with their service.  One gentleman actually thought I was wrong for thinking $2,500 was too expensive to re run 50 ft of pipe.  I will not use this company again..

They are way overpriced!! After you've had them do work you'll have a hard time arguing you've been overcharged because they just open their books and show you their prices for that job/part. But do yourself a favor and get a second quote from another plumber for the same job/part -- even just ask over the phone -- and you will see just how unnecessarily and outrageously overpriced Baker Brothers is in comparison to other plumbers out there. Their plumber came and less than thirty minutes later I was over $260 poorer.

I can't even be sure their plumber replaced all the parts he said he did and charged me for, another plumber I have since called to my home took a look and told me only half the parts are new. He also said the part that was replaced should only have cost around thirty bucks.

Either the plumber didn't know what he was doing and made a simple job much more complicated, or he knew exactly what he was doing and took advantage -- either way I was ripped off as a result of his ignorance or manipulation.

Their customer service is so atrocious, I can only imagine they're still in business because they're so successful at ripping people off.

Their plumber also cut out a piece out of my drywall and never replaced it  or closed the hole in the wall. Apparently they only do plumbing so fixing the hole they made is not in their job description or part of their responsibility. Basically, they told me I have to hire someone else to come finish up their job.

I called on Thursday as I needed to schedule some work for saturday. We're upgrading our kitchen so we needed a gas stove connected, faucet installed and u-bend under the sink redone as we went from a 2 basin sink to single drain. They let me know someone would be out between 0830-0930 and it would be $99 for the call. Ok. Since it was a weekend that was fine. Aaron called Saturday at 0800 to say he was on the way. Got to our house and was ready to get to work. He was super friendly and good to talk to. Especially since my 3 yr old son came in the kitchen and watched him work.
Now why less than 5 stars? The price. 90 mins of work was $1160 and I needed 3 things. Gas stove connection was $300. Faucet install (which I already had the faucet) was $230. Re-doing the u-bend and hooking up my disposal (again that I already had) was $269. And the quarter turn valve for water shut off was $196. This was explained up front so we weren't blind sided. But the charges were too extreme. The only reason I used them was because my regular guy couldn't come til weds and I didn't want to be without my kitchen that long. I would probably not use these guys again. Too expensive

I got estimates from 4 plumming companies on a total bathroom redo. Baker's Brothers gave us the best price and was willing to work around our very varied schedule.
They sent out Troy, really good guy that works hard. His running mate Cody did good too. I was not impressed with the work of the shower pan people and would not have them back if I did another Shower Pan.

Baker's Brother's worked around our schedule and was very patience with the time frame it took us to get each step completed before having them back out. When we had to do a recalculation of the layout, not an issue. I did have to remind them that the area was decreased and therefore estimate needed to be decreased.

My husband and I really enjoyed working with Troy and Cody and would call and ask for them again.

My biggest complaint is, when you say I'll call you back......call back.

We had Baker Brother's Install new Air Conditioner - there was a bit of confusion, however - we were able to meet about the problem, discuss the issues, and they were EXTREMELY patient, knowledgeable, understanding, and quick to get a resolution. They did not want to leave until we were satisfied - and I appreciate that very much.

I think other companies could have looked at this issue as you paid me X, and we did X....but the leadership at Baker Brothers wasn't going to let that happen, they truly and sincerely wanted us to be satisfied. And in the end, not only was the job professionally done, but they showed us several ways we could make our house more energy efficient and save us money.

Thank you.

Do not call Baker Brothers. I called them out to look at my water heater afters the thermostat went out. I was told it would be $40 to have someone come out and look at it. They gave me a 5 hour window that someone would come out and in the end they came out during rush hour. Once he arrived he would look at the water heater unless I paid another 200 dollars. In the end the quote was $200 to check the heating elements, 400 to replace the thermostats, and $2000 for a new 8 year electric water heater replacement. All this information could have been communicated over the phone and saved me 40 dollars, which was a complete waste of money and more expensive than the replacements parts, and 2 hours of my time during the work day.  They called replacing the thermostats a rebuild. Yeah right.

need to update my review - the owner has paid attention and contacted me.  The situation was a compound of a new guy unfamiliar with their pricing sheet, and a pricing sheet which didn't have the work we needed.  The retrofitting of flex gas lines with hard lines (which is now a new code item) is becoming more frequent as older houses are coming up for sale.  The owner is taking this opportunity to educate his staff, and update his pricing sheets.  Plus he treated me better than correctly on the refund.  He has  said all the right things and made all the right moves.  Their work has always been very good indeed.  He did exactly what I would have done were I in his shoes.

Be ware of Baker Brothers plumbing. We called them out for a simple drain leak which was the gasket on the tub overflow. They charge $280 just to look at it and then another $300+ to fix it. When I called the office to have them apply the advertised $55 discount coupon on their website they informed me they needed to know I was going to use the coupon before they priced the job. Very dishonest! The one thing they are good at--charging $600 for a $100 job. Rip Off

Unbelievable! Horrible  and unprofessional service!!!!! We had a new faucet installed on 8/20/16, by Bakers Brothers.   We had no idea it was NOT installed properly. It was leaking  for 10 days(which we were unaware about) and eventually when we saw water on the kitchen floor realized the mess.
Wood damage and not able to use kitchen for two day.  We called to have Bakers Brothers come back and are still waiting for quality control to review/fix the problem. They had no sense of urgency.  It's midday and no one has showed up.
We are displeased with  their service and follow up.  Not worth.

I recently had a bad experience With Baker Brothers  I had a leak in the the bath area.  Water was backing up in the tub and the toilet would not flush  BB sent out a plumber to fix the problem.  The first thing he said after I explained the problem was that he would have to cut through the wall to find the problem.  He then indicated that it would cost me $350 for him to find the leak.  How much more to fix the problem was to be determined.  I said no and paid the $39 fee for showing up.

I called another plumber out.  After explaining the problem He knew immediately what the problem was.  A clogged drain line in the bath area.  Within a half hour he cleared the drain cleaned up and was on his way. The total cost was $150. No holes in the wall.

Think twice before you call BB

There are a few other reviews here stating that Baker Brothers insisted that people needed entirely new systems when a very simple repair alternative was available.  They did the same thing to me.  Called them to look at our heater, which was not blowing hot air.  They told me the heating coil was clogged and ruined and they could fix it, but the repair would be the same price as an entirely new system, either of which would cost $10,000.  I called another company for a second opinion, who showed me the coil.  The coil was not ruined and, in fact, was perfectly clean.  Two separate people from Baker Brothers lied about this - the technician who originally showed up and the salesman who tried to sell us a new system.  This was a coordinated effort to get us to unnecessarily spend $10,000.

Needed a sewer line leak locate.  Lady said it would run $340.  Guy shows up and says closer to 180/hr. Takes all day, doesn't give us a report or pics or insurance co can use to make a claim determination- just says he's found a few without saying where exactly and priced the repair work at $8k - and that cost us nearly $1k and wasted our time.  We were specific about the service we needed them for, they just took advantage.  Called back to ask that they provide the details and make good on what we paid for and they won't return my call.  Absolutely horrendous. Will be taking to small claims court and filing a BBB complaint as well.

I had originally written the review below.  Since then I've been extremely disappointed.  The city inspector showed up before the plumber so he failed the repairs.  The plumber's excuse was that they don't even start until 8:00.  Right, Einstein, the inspector showed up at 8:10 and you got here at 8:45.  Huge inconvenience.  Then they did an absolutely terrible job of filling in the trenches they dug in the back yard.  The plumber's excuse it will settle with a little bit of rain  After 5 inches of rain last night I still have a pile of dirt two feet high and four feet long.  They do a good job, the guys are professional, but their finish up work is the worst.  It's like their attitude is I'm outta here, can't be bothered  I can no longer recommend them.

Atmos energy detected a leak in our outside gas line and turned off our gas.  I went to the Baker Brothers website and entered an emergency request that evening.  They called within 15 minutes and had a team out the next day at 8am.  That team spent most of the day digging up the back yard in 90+ degree temps and ultimately fixed the outside leak, but apparently there was an inside leak as well.  Today we have two other guys fixing the inside leak.  While this has been very expensive, I must commend the Baker Brothers staff as being very polite, clean cut, and professional.  I highly recommend them.

Saturday was a bad day... I came home from work to no hot water and a very loud upstairs ac unit. I called baker brothers because I saw they had a pretty good reputation and serviced hvac and plumbing. The weekend trip charge was a little much (which I expected) so I went with Monday. Sunday they called me Sunday to confirm my Monday appointment then bright and early both technicians called to let me know they were about 30 minutes away. First was the electrician (Cade) explained what was wrong and he went strait to work. He diagnosed the problem and gave me a few options. I really appreciated his honesty you could tell he wasn't just trying to get me to do the most expensive thing but ensured that I knew all the options available.
Next was the plumber (Marcos) he was a young guy with a great personality. Again I explained the issue and him and one other tech went strait to work. He found what he thought was the issue and told me the steps he was gonna take to fix it. He went and got a part and it didn't work. We talked about our options to replace vs repair and I felt very confident in replacing the unit. There was absolutely no pressure just honest caring advise. I am so very thankful that I made the call to baker brothers :)

This company severely overcharges for work, and they don't necessarily do a good job either. They were two and a half hours late showing up. They charged way more than our original estimate for a sub-par job. Evidently they charge about $350.00 to what they call set a tub, which was in this instance, essentially lifting up a fiberglass tub a couple of inches. They did not use thinset mortar or screws to fix the tub in place at all. They also left without ensuring that my bathtub drain was working properly (which was what the majority of the job was). So, to sum up what they did: cut p-trap connector (which was broken from my old shower), place a $5.00 rubber boot with clamp over the top, connect my drain (which I supplied) to the new bathtub. It took them 2.5 hours of labor, because they did not know what they were doing and charged $798.00  (My original estimate was $457.00, for the drain repair and install).  Baker Brothers charges a flat fee, which may be good in some instances, but in this one, we got royally screwed! I would not recommend them to anyone, and will make it a goal to pass the word to everyone that I know.

This is for the A/C side only.  I recently had a tankless water heater installed by their plumbing guys and that service was phenomenal.

As part of the water heater install, I enrolled in their family plan, which supposedly gives you free inspections of your AC equipment and plumbing, priority, and discounts on services.  So, I scheduled an AC inspection.  The tech that came out tried to sell me a list of snake oil items including replacing all capacitors in the system (both I and another AC tech checked the capacitance on each with a multimeter, and all were fine), replacing contactors saying they showed pittance/burn marks - none appeared to be present, hard start kits for each unit (not recommended by the manufacturer), and duct cleaning (which is not recommended by the EPA).  Total tune up recommendations for two systems were close to $6,000.  My gut impression was they were trying to rip me off, and this was confirmed by my own tests and a tech from another company (see below).  Unfortunately for Baker Brothers I have an engineering background and am able to analyze most of their suggested repairs for myself.

A couple weeks later, a compressor seized up on one unit.  Now I realize this is a random occurrence and was nothing they could have predicted in the inspection, so I don't blame them for that.  But, thinking hey good thing I'm a family plan member at Baker Brothers, I'll call and get them out right away with their priority promise.  Well, I left a message about 5:00 on a Sunday (after hours).  I not only received no response Sunday, they didn't bother to call me back on Monday.  Needless to say I will be cancelling my family plan membership with Baker Brothers and won't be using their AC service again.

After no response from Baker Brothers, I called Boone's, who were ultra responsive, came out the same day, and treated me right.  I also went through the list of suggested repairs from Baker with Boone's, they tested the capacitors, etc and confirmed most components Baker recommended replacing were fine.

I wish I could choose 0 stars.  We recently had our kitchen counter tops replaced and had a new sink, garbage disposal, and new faucet to have hooked up to replace the old ones.  I had read online other reviews that addressed the outrageous pricing these guys have.  I had been told by the office when I booked the appointment that they charge a $39 trip fee, and if you decide to move forward with the work after reviewing their pricing, I would get credit for the $39.  When Chris arrived he spent about 20 minutes in the kitchen writing up his estimate.  When I looked down and saw a price of $994, I was shocked beyond belief.  I had an idea already of what that work would cost me having replaced my sink once before a few years ago.  I told Chris that I would write him a check for the $39 trip charge and we would call it a day.  I then called another licensed plumber that my friend from RE/MAX had recommended who came out and spent 50 minutes actually doing the job.  Price was $163!!   I would run like the plague from these guys.  There's no excuse and no justification for trying to gouge customers like that.

I called them to attach a valve to the pipe behind the refrigerator and connect the ice maker. The plumber spent about 20 minutes writing up a quote for other work he thought I should have done, ranging from $400 to $1200.
I said I just wanted what I called them for done...that took about 5 minutes and cost more than $200!
They make a big deal about putting on booties before they come into the house...would rather have been charged a reasonable amount for a very small and easy job and had footprints!

Yes, I was contacted by them and was promised a gift certificate which I did not receive.

Scheduled for Friday afternoon to replace faucets for washing machine in new house and replace needle shutoff for refrigerator water line. Couldn't run washer as pumping water from faucets and water line inop. Didn't show up til Sat morning, but did call to inform us. Tech was courteous, professional but informed us after reviewing concerns that work was based on a service menu. Presented costs and I agreed although the quote seemed high, but it was Sat and needed both working. Tech was here less than two hours and bill was about $500. He did give us a complimentary ice line for refrigerator. My complaint is I feel they gouged us big time on pricing. Had to have the same ice line valve replaced in our old house a couple of days later and the bill was $123, less than half the ice line repair by Baker Bros. But also need two water heaters replaced next week and so the wheel goes round.

My water heater started leaking over the weekend. When the company that I originally called failed to show up for my appointment and couldn't fit me in until another day, I called Baker brothers. Marcos came and he was amazing. He explained what all of my options were, took the old water heater away and then gave me A couple days to figure out my final choice. I very much appreciated the thoughtfulness, the expertise, and the professionalism. Five stars. He made me happy that the other company never showed up.

Beware...I am an older citizen.  My ac went out and I made the mistake of telling them it was an emergency because I couldn't breathe well.  They sent David and another guy out.  It took them about a minute and my air was on. They then proceeded to sit down and tell me I had two options.  One was $10,000 and the other about $2400.  That evening I had dinner with my son in town from Santa Barbara and his Baylor friends.  When they heard this, they exclaimed no, no and immediately called an ac expert that told me there was nothing wrong with my ac.  He took a part off that they had put on and put his own on and charged me $175.00.  Laid it on the table and told me to call them to pick theirs up.  After telling the girl in their office I wanted to review, she told me I could not get to their site.  Their site is so misleading giving them 5 stars but you can't get on it to tell the truth about this Company.  BEWARE  My friends wanted me to turn them into the attorney general.

The first service I had from Baker Brothers, an AC tune up, was fabulous. He arrived w/in reasonable time, took the time needed for a thorough check and explanation, and left w/o a mess. This second time, however, has been a disaster. Our hot water is not working, and I was told they'd been here after noon. Three hours later and I still hadn't heard from anyone so I called and she said, we don't have anyone available right now, but we'll call when we're 30 minutes out. So earliest I'm looking at is 4pm, with a potential for four hours worth of work. Which means I could been waiting at my home for EIGHT HOURS to have my water heater looked at. I would recommend their AC services but absolutely not their plumbing. I was going to sign up for their Family Plan today, but I won't be using BB again.

I don't ever write bad reviews. I had a nightmare experience with Baker Brothers Plumbing. They are very unprofessional, dishonest, and expansive.
Trusting their well known names in metroplex without doubts call them for leak(s) repair. Couple of tech came to do test for leak(s). My schedule was between 8:30-9:00am, they showed up at 11:38am (it was waste of my time from work), they stop the test for lunch, their lunch was 12:45-2:50 pm, remind you, I am been charge by hourly plus cost of the leak test. Feb. 1st same techs came for repair, once again they were late on schedule. Same day late afternoon, assumed leaks were repaired and they did second test to ensure leaks was repaired. After test I been told they found 2 more leaks and would be $3000+ to repair. I was shocked, speechless, upset, etc.  Paying them several thousand dollars to repair leaks, instead they are coming back more repair and more thousands of dollars.
I been told they will schedule an inspection to inspect current repair. One of the tech called office for schedule an inspector for Feb. 2nd. And I was told by tech to call city hall to follow up with inspector's scheduled time, as a home owner they should be able to tell me inspector's arrival time. Start calling building inspection office 7:30am, no schedule found for my property. Many many calls back and fort to Building inspection office, Baker Brothers, and Tech, still no schedule for inspection. And tech is saying, told my supervisor to schedule, supervisor says, I am not dispatch, you schedule the inspector, Basically they were dropping to ball on each other. Had to schedule inspector myself. Thankfully he came mid afternoon and repair passed inspection. I was not happy with lack of schedule, one of the tech playing music loud as he can on his phone while working in my living room, lack of professionalism, communication, etc. decided not to continue work with them. I called local plumbing company and schedule Feb 8th to repair on 2 other leaks they find. I was very fortunate to hire this company; they were professional and know what they are doing. I showed them Baker Brothers' test diagnose and drawings where the assumed leaks are. After studying and reading reports over and over again, they decided to do test instead of tearing up the floor. They did camera test and water test, no leaks, each test was performed twice and I was watching and asking bunch of questions. Report was concluded NO LEAKS. I was very blessed and fortunate to work with this company, otherwise could be out for another $3000+ and repair of master bathroom and half bath floor. Please save your time, money, most of it your nerve.

We had a kitchen drain clogged, Baker Brothers Plumbing cleared the drain using an auger, basically ran it thru and pulled it out, yes there was a grease build up.  They closed the drain and ran three or four sinks full of water thru the drain. Then attempted to sell a half gallon of their drain cleaner for $50.00.  I ask if they guaranteed their work. No not on grease build up. Total price was just over $200.00, which thank god I had a $50.00 coupon. Have live here for 40 plus years and have had a few plumbers during that time, all have guaranteed their work for at least 30 days.

Replacing my gas water heater I had gotten three estimates. Baker Brothers was in the middle of the three. When they came out they knew right away that I needed an additional part that was due to code in the town of Addison which the other two had failed to mention. Baker Brothers had great communication from the plumbers to the very friendly answering staff. All the work was done in about an hour. They even scheduled the town inspector to stop by for me. Baker brothers then followed up with me two days later to make sure everything was okay and met my satisfaction. Great job Baker Brothers.

Way overpriced!! Wanted to charge $265 to clean main drain which I found out later the City does for FREE!!! Told tech that was too high so he said he would take off $50.  Since I was at his mercy I said okay but he later convinced me to buy their special drain cleaner for $50 so he got the $265 anyway!!!! Then tried to sell me family plan......Really?!!! No way.  I'm 65 and was taken advantage of!!!!

Would not use again.  Charged me $245 to find a leak in my garage slab and couldn't find it.  In the meantime told me I needed a new water heater (which I have had tested and I do not).  Told me the leak would have to get bigger before they could do anything.  Used a hammer to get the cement cover off the main and it is now broken.  Called American Leak Detectors and in less then 30 minutes they found the leak (right where it was leaking).
Sorry The Ticket, but your recommendations will not be taken again.

I had Baker Brothers come out to my home to look at fixing my kitchen sink faucet.  Kohler the manufacturer of my faucet,  mailed me the replacement parts so all I needed was the new O rings and the valve to be replaced.  The repair man looked at the faucet and informed me that it would cost over $200 to put the parts in and that he could not guarantee the work, meaning if that didn't work it would cost more.  I am very disappointed and would not recommend this company nor will I ever ask them back to my home.

I was surprised to read all the negative reviews for BB, though most of them seem to be for AC or furnace work and my experience was on the plumbing side. After coming home to a soaked closet and study, we realized we had a slab leak on a hot water line. Baker Brothers sent Cody out the next day to repair the issue. Since the leak was in the slab right at the meeting point of five different rooms/closets, it was extremely difficult to locate. Cody was patient and informative in the midst of chaos...drying fans, dehumidifiers...if you've ever had water damage, you know the drill. He stayed late on repair day in order to get it done in one day to have our hot water back on. To top it off, his partner and he cleaned up every room they were in. I wish I could say the same for our water migration team. If you ever have the bad luck of a slab leak, I'd definitely recommend Cody at Baker Brothers.

I only called these folks because my regular tried and true folks don't work on weekends.  I had a leak coming from the wall on Friday night of a holiday weekend.  Good news is the Bakers Brothers folks  were available by phone first thing Saturday morning and the appointment setter was very pleasant and courteous.  They were able to get someone out to me on a holiday weekend Saturday.  The bad news is that the technician took very cursory information from me, did a quick little look around and said the leak was from a pipe inside the wall and he wasn't qualified/didn't have equipment to deal with that.  He said I would need a leak detector technician to come out on Tuesday after the holiday weekend.  He also said that it seemed to him very likely that it was a leak from a pipe in my slab which would be very expensive.  So I paid him the $39 trip fee and went without water for the next three days.  Then I called the other company that I usually use, and they got right out there Tuesday morning.  Their technicians did what seemed logical to me in that they actually ran the water, saw it coming out, did some measuring and determined a small area that they figured the leak would be in, cut out a small piece of sheetrock, found the leak, and fixed it.  It took less than two hours and cost only $220.00.  Now why couldn't Bakers Brothers do that?

In their defense both the service manager and customer service manager responded quickly and caringly to my complaint and my $39 trip fee is going to be refunded.  Also they assured me that wasn't the way the service call should have been handled and they would get with the technician and address the issue to improve future performance.  I might give them another chance if I was in a pinch on a weekend.

They were the only company that could provide service to a leading valve stop in our bathroom.  They were prompt and courteous, but it was $300 to replace the valve stop, which took one guy less than 20 min to fix (from the time he got to my door to the time he was done). So I'm thankful for the quick response and service, but I probably wont be calling them again unless I need immediate service due to the cost.

We have used Baker Brothers twice this year, once for a clog and once to replace the hot water heater. Both times our home warranty company was dragging their feet and we needed someone immediately. Both times they came out the same day. The technicians were knowledgeable and polite. The repairs were done correctly. I know they are not the least expensive but we are willing to pay extra for a quick response and work done well.

I was charged $39 for the guy to just show up. Once he showed up he began reciting a list of fees I would have to pay in order to get a quote for my leak. Once he saw that I was not interested and would rather turn to another company he began giving me a ball park estimate. By the end of the conversation he was telling me it would cost me AT LEAST 50k to change my drain pipes in the crawl space. He was pulling numbers out of nowhere and wanted to make me feek insafe in my own home. The funny thing is that i am a property adjuster so i have a pretty good knowledge of what can be done and how much one can expect to pay for the work he was proposing to do.  Clear lack of professionalism, knowledge and utter disregard to basic customer service. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. They give plumbers a bad rep.

Great Service indeed... When it rains it pours, we found ourselves with both water heater issues and a bad compressor on our AC in the same week. The Baker Brothers team made it simple to schedule service techs out for both issues and completed the jobs with a sense of urgency. They didn't try to sell me something I didn't need and actually walked me through how to mitigate future issues with the water heater. Baker Brothers will be our new go-to for Plumbing & AC needs!

Beware Beware Beware!!!!!!   I rarely write reviews but I could not keep silent on this one.

Called Baker Brothers after the water in the house started running luke warm/cold.  The tech came in, barely looked at the units and advised that both water heaters had gone bad...at the same time...and needed to be replaced...for the bargain price of $2098.00!!! When I questioned the probability of both units going out suddenly, at the same time, he said it happens.  He also said that it could possibly be the heat elements but by the time he drained the tanks and replaced the elements, it would cost the same as replacing the entire units, so he advised again on replacement.  The entire scene was questionable at best, so  I thanked him for his time and sent him on his way.

The next day we went to Home Depot,  bought a high end heater element for $17.38, and followed the instruction of the very knowledgable sales clerk in the plumbing dept.  We went home, drained the tanks, replaced the element and had hot water within a couple hours.

Shame on you Baker Brothers for taking advantage of the public!!!

If i could give zero stars, I would. Baker Brothers quoted me $27,000 for my new A/C system. The closest quote to them was $16,000, which is a few thousand higher than the next 8 quotes.  He told me i needed a larger A/C unit upstairs, even though the square footage is small. When challenged about ton/square foot ratio, he dismissed it by saying he doesn't care what the math says.  He also told me his boss was taking all of the sales guys out for Papas Brothers steaks that night (about 10 of them), so I guess all the people they are overcharging are paying for their dinner. I can only assume that's also how they afford their commercials and cars.  The sales guy also joked about their insurance coverage, saying if there is a place in the attic that I want one of their techs to fall through so I can get a new ceiling, just point to it.  He also told me where to buy cheaper air filters and admitted his boss doesn't like when he tries to save customers a few bucks, but if i'm going to get $20,000 out of you, it's the least I can do.  TERRIBLE company.

Joe from Baker Brothers Plumbing's Fort Worth office botched a slab leak repair in our house in Jan. 2013.

For those who haven't had the pleasure, repairing a slab leak requires them to break through your floor and foundation with a jackhammer and dig till they find the pipe, sometimes many feet under your house. After Joe supposedly repaired the pipe on Jan. 11, the leak returned this Feb. 15, 2 weeks ago.

The second repair crew that came out told us that it was because Joe had used improper materials. (We have copper pipes, which should be repaired with copper, and he did not use copper at all).

This was a tiresome and long ordeal, since they had to break our slab again to repair it. However, I will say the owner personally apologized and refunded our money in full. They have a reputation for great service. Unfortunately we got the one guy who was a complete screw-up.

They owned up to the mistake and did everything they could to try to make it right. The owner also told us he personally addressed some serious customer service issues with his staff.

What a joke, I should of learned from all the reviews. So I have a leak in my slab and call them. They tell me it will be $29 for them to come out and check, so not a problem. 2 guys come out and as soon as they get there they tell me the price is now $323.09 for them to check. I told them over the phone they said $29 and was told the $29 is just for them to DRIVE to my house. So what ever I paid and 23min  later they tell me what all needs to be done so I start asking questions about them re routing the water line and the guys tells me they will have to cut a hole in the wall to get to the water mainfold @ the hot water heater and run a line to bypass the broken pipe. So after they left I called another plumber and come to find out the water mainfold was on the other side of the house. Never again. But then again this was my experience.

I had a water leak in my yard and after I dug a little I could see some water coming up through the mud. I called Baker Brothers to have them come out and hope to get it fixed. The guy they sent out was supposed to be a plumber I guess but he seemed to be more of a salesman. He didn't seem to want to troubleshoot where the leak was coming from at all or even listen to me as a customer. He stated we had QEST plumbing in our home and needed to put in a whole new line at the cost of $2100-$2600. He never offered to find it repair the leak, he only wanted to talk about replacing the whole line. I paid the $39 service call fee and he left.
We contacted another plumbing company and they came today and had the leak repaired in 3 hours. The leak was exactly where I told your salesman/plumber I thought it was. This plumbing company also inspected our plumbing and it is not QEST or anything similar to QEST. That is a scare tactic to try and convince uninformed people into re-plumbing their homes. It is also bad business practice. Our leak was at a sprinkler/main line connection and didn't require anything close to a complete 're-pipe. Customers should never feel pressured by scare tactics when they are already experiencing the stress of a plumbing leak.

Mike from Baker Brothers spoke with me today and apologized for this experience. I appreciate his follow up and hearing my explanation of what happened. This seemed to be a technician issue and not a representation of Baker Brothers as a company. We will possibly give them another chance in the future if we need plumbing repairs. We don't want to judge them by one bad experience.

There are too many plumbing companies out there to have to put up with poor customer service.  I requested a consult (not free) from this company and all they sent out was some grumpy man who didn't want to (and never did) submit the proposal for the job I needed done.  He just collected the 39 dollar trip charge and off he went.  Their lack of follow through and professionalism will keep them crossed off my list.

Moved into my recently renovated house and every summer there was this bad smell in the kitchen. Called Rotto Rooter out to see what it was...charged me an arm and a leg to snake the drains..plus offered a 500.00 smoke test to see if there was a leak but couldn't guarantee that it would work. no thanks.

then called out Baker Brothers (paid service call fee) and the tech crawled under the house, was down there for 30 minutes, to figure it out. He came back and said that there was an 1 old pipe that was never capped off...but he couldn't cap it because there was dead rat on it and that I needed to call a pest control guy (more $) to knock it off then call him back (another service call fee)  and he would cap it.

So instead of calling a pest control I had a handy man/friend remove the rat and cap off the pipe. I thought this would fix it...then the next summer  the smell was back.

So frustrated so I called American Leak Detection and they came out and crawled under. The guy was under there for maybe 5 minutes, came up and said he knew exactly what it was..there was a pipe that wasnt capped...I told him it was capped last summer and he said..there was a DIFFERENT pipe right next to rat one. This pipe needed to be capped too. SO he capped it.

Problem fixed!!

I get that no one wanted to touch the rat..but how did BB miss the pipe that was right next to each other. I just think I had a lazy tech come out.

If I could give them 0 stars I would!
pissed doesn't even begin to describe how I feel

We had a HUGE leak at our home (found out from our water company) so we hired our usual plumber Gary to come and check it out (who is an amazing and honest man). Keep in mind water was not visible anywhere inside or outside. Gary was able to determined the leak was outside but did not have the proper equipment to pinpoint its exact location. This is where Bakers Brothers comes in....

10/24/13
Called them and they came out while Gary was at the house - Ceasar was the guys name (at this point we had been without water for 3 days). Ceasar said he needed to clamp his equipment to the main to be able to listen. The main was at least 2 feet below ground and instead of him doing the physical work and digging himself he just assumed since Gary was there that he would do the dirty work for him and because Gary is nice guy he did - that should have been the first sign these were not the right guys for the job!! Ceasar found the leak using headphones and a really strong listening device.
He collect $215.00 which would have been $265.00 if I didn't have a $50 coupon.

Now that the leak was found - we agreed they would come back the next day 10/25 and fix it. I called Angie's List to see what their rating was - and they said it was really good. That made me feel a little better. On 10/25 Ceasar showed up with the bid said it would be $1493.65 to fix with a 2 yr parts and labor warranty that also included the concrete. Which they would reinforce with rebar and try to match. They cut out about a 3x3 section of the concrete in the driveway and dug up all the dirt (a good 4ft.) and found the small hole in the copper pipe that was the culprit. They fix the pipe and assured us they would fill back with sand and not the existing dirt since it was filled with debris, after the city inspector approves it.

The weekend came and went and the inspector came on Monday 10/28 and gave the green light. We called Bakers Brothers on 10/29 to schedule time for the them to come back and fill the hole and lay the concrete - but Tamara with the suggestion from Ceasar decided that we would wait till the rain passes before they would come and finish the job to make sure the concrete dries properly. So this morning on 10/30 I walk out to my garage and see a man working in my driveway and asked what he was doing b/c nothing was scheduled to be done today. Found out he filled the hole back up with the debris filled dirt and was planning on laying concrete without reinforcing it with rebar as discussed with Ceasar initially. I asked the guy to stop what he was doing immediately. I called the company right away and explained my distaste. The operator promised to look into it all and call me back. She did apologize. My concern is what would have happened had I not been home? They would have done it all wrong and laid concrete and a rainy day?!! all of which are unacceptable.

I received a call back from a Jason and explained to him that I wanted the $1493.65 broken down b/c I want to consider hiring another company to come and lay the concrete. We as customers should not have to deal with things like this - just do what you said you were going to do. If someone dropped the ball somewhere I really don't care and its not my problem - I want the job done right! Jason could not break down the job costs - and said he wanted to assure our happiness and would have someone come out on Sat. morning and make it right. I am grateful, but again if I had not been home to see all this how would I have known that they didn't do what we agreed on. That's what bothers me most - and at the end of the day I'm still paying $1493.65! so a little discount for the inconvenience and causing me to late to work would have been nice

I hope when they show up on Saturday we don't have anymore problems......to be continued.

The day after writing this review, I received a call from a customer service rep that completely agreed that there should have been more communication and that I should receive a discount for my trouble. She was apologetic and very nice.
She also made sure 2 guys came out on Saturday 11/2/13 to complete the job properly and they did. It wasn't a great experience at the beginning, but turned out well in the end and we are happy with the end result. I have change my rating from 1 star to 3

They were prompt and fixed the upstairs sink.  However, they plumber did something wrong and water started leaking from the 1st story ceiling as he was walking out the door.

We found the issue and realize mistakes are made.

The real problem was that they stated they would have someone here to fix ceiling and repaint in approximatley 24 hours.  This did not occur until I kept calling 7 times and made a fuss.  A week later my issue was fixed.  I am selling my house and would have appreciated a timely, organized approach   instead of having to threaten them to fix their problem.

I would use someone else in the future.

Be careful when considering Baker Brothers. I was given an estimate to fix a simple leak that was three times the cost of a competing quote. It was a simple two hour job to repair a joint that wasn't doped  properly and only required digging less than 12 in the soil. I paid them $40 for the estimate and saved over $600 by using my local plumber.

In reference to Tamara whom responded on behalf of Baker Brothers...I told your tech his number was ridiculous and he then called his boss who lowered the price by $80. You had a chance and failed miserably because clearly you are in the market trying to take advantage of clueless customers.

I called Baker Brothers on 3 different occasions for my air conditioning issue, on the 2nd visit they suggested I purchase a family plan which was $125 a year and would only have to pay for any repairs they made. So I did. The first 2 times, they were unable to find anything wrong with my units, and stated that it was an electrical problem, so I called an electrician, it was not the problem. The 3rd time my air went out I was now obligated to call them, since I had this plan. I will give them 5 stars on service & promptness, but I didn't even want to give them any stars. So they came out, and the technician came stating that I needed a new unit that he couldn't get it to blow cool air. He stated he had to call his sales manager who came out, and they spent a lot of time evaluating. The sales manager Kenny showed my the thermostat saying it was fine, but gave me no legitimate reason why I couldn't get cold air!!! He sat me down & said we would talk about the new system, and how the process would work. He suggested I replace both units, neither were that old, or showed signs according to them the 1st 2 visits of wear or a problem. He had me apply for financing and stated to me to up the amount that I make a year!! Then the quote was for that exact amount, 10,700!!! New grills $500! WHAT!!!

So I decided to call Dring A/C, they came out & immediately found a wire cut on my unit on the roof, they fixed it and I had cold air, better than before! But an hour later, my a/c was still on, and it was 55 degrees in my condo. I called them back, they came & stated it is probably the thermostat, when he pulled off the face cover, he had found that the wire that turns the unit on/off was cut, and the other wires were put back together with electrical tape, this was not there before Kenny had come!  This company almost cheated me out of $10K and for a system I did not need. That day Kenny was blowing up my phone to see if I was gonna buy!

I have called them back to cancel the plan, they won't, and I am now awaiting,STILL, a call from a manager.... DO NOT USE THEM! If they employ people like this Kenny or condon this type of work ethic, I don't want to do business with them.

CROOKS!!!

Our hot water heater started leaking on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend.  We called Baker Brothers at 8:00 am and they were very responsive.  However, the tech did not arrive until 1:30 pm. My husband and I had to get the water heater out on our own, because it kept leaking.  My husband asked to have the hot water heater raised off of the floor.  The tech did not do this.  Also, the pan put under the hot water heater is cheap and bent.  We had the hot water heater replaced in the front of the house about a year ago by another company.  That company raised the hot water heater about 5 to 6 inches off of the floor.  The pan under that heater is sturdy.  The cost was about $300 less with the other plumber.  We would have used them, but they were not open on Memorial weekend.  However, I am thankful that Baker Brothers was available and replace the hot water heater the day we called.

Unbelievable prices, and I don't mean that in a good way.  If it weren't for having to take off work again to bring in a different plumber, I would have paid the call out charge and never used this company again.  I don't mind paying for a good quality job, but over $300 to replace a broken tank bolt on my toilet is just insane.  Do yourself a favor and take the time to find someone else unless price means absolutely nothing to you.  I could have had a new toilet installed (by another company) for what they charged me for this 15 minute job.  I've given an extra star only because the assigned plumber showed up on time, did the job, and cleaned up when done.  The company's pricing policies aren't his fault.

We had Baker Brothers come out to fix a gas leak, they came out said it was going to cost $1800 to fix it and it would be done today. We said great and signed the paper work saying we agree to pay. Not even 30 minutes later they come back in saying they have to trench up the whole pipe because it doesnt meet code which would be an additional $1000. While they left to go get their equipment I went to the city to check on the code and was told that since we are in an existing house, Baker Brothers could not make us dig up the whole pipe to redo it. That we were being scammed. Called Baker Brothers back to talk to a manager, the receptionist asked our issue and said she would pass the message forward. The receptionist called back saying the manager was too busy to talk to us and the technicians would be out Monday to fix the problem at the original price we signed for. So not only did they try to scam us but when we asked to speak to someone higher up about it. We were not important enough to talk to. This company is nothing but scam artist looking for money. Beware.

This by far was one of the worst decisions I could make by calling them to fix a Kitchen Sink Faucet with detachable sprayer that was leaking. I called them as they were referred to me by the Plumber that my Builder uses as they were booked up for a week.

When the Plumber arrived he said the sprayer needed to be replaced and took several pictures to send back to the office to see if they had the part. He walked back in and out of the house multiple times as he said they wanted more pictures. He said he may have to get the part and that would be a trip charge if he has to go and get it. I asked how much it would be, and he said he would have to check.

On his final trip to the truck, he comes back in after 20 minutes and brings me an estimate to replace the sprayer for $250+, and the replacement of the entire faucet for $586+, or I could go buy my own faucet, and I would be charged $230+. I said you must be kidding me. He said he had several other jobs today, and if he needed to go get the part to replace the sprayer the trip charge would be another $106. He said he could come back maybe the following day.  I said are you going to charge me to get a part, and he said yes, the $106 is the round trip fee, even though I can't fix it today.

I told him he could be on his way and I would pay the $39 trip charge and he could put my sprayer back. While he was doing that; I picked up my phone and called a plumber I used in the past and they said they could come out before end of day. Needless to say; the other plumber came out in less than 2 hours, identified the problem in less than 2 minutes, fixed the O-Ring; and guess what? My original sprayer and faucet are still there and there is no longer a leak all for $135!!!

Baker Brothers Plumbing is a complete joke, a complete rip-off, and a company that you will regret using unless you are ok with getting overcharged and can wait all day for a job to be completed in less than 20 minutes total.

We where over charged! Not to mention the horrible service! The worst is the people on the phone when we told them that the line they fixed was gushing water the day after they came out to fix it and now it's broken again!?!?! I wish I would have read the reviews before having Baker Brothers come fix a broken line in my yard..... They have been so unprofessional and dishonest about their ability to do professional plumbing I am shocked on how they are still in business! I think the guy that came out wasn't really a pro! I do not recommend to use them or to even think about the misleading ads they have on TV!

We had BBs out to replace two 50 gallon water heaters, that were unfortunately located in the second floor attic.  Their servicemen were polite and clean.  During their visit, a knocking was heard in the walls and the technician recommended a repair to remedy the issue.  BB came out the next day to make the necessary repair.  That did not stop the knocking.  On the third day, another tech came out and quickly fixed the problem. Unfortunately for us, this repair was much cheaper than the one originally suggested.  After a quick call to BB, they refunded us the difference between the two repairs. No headache! No haggling! Efficient, sympathetic customer service.  I was pleasantly surprised, and quite satisfied with their workmanship and their customer service.  I will be using them in the future for my plumbing needs!!  Thanks E!

I had used Baker Brothers in the past and was satisfied.  I had them come out to address a problem with a bathroom faucet.  The guy looked at it and wanted to see my water heaters and tried to sell me two new ones.  I directed him back to the bathroom.  He could not complete the work, added $100.00 travel time when he drove to get a part.  He told me it was a premium repair and would cost me over six hundred dollars.  Since he could not fix the problem we called his supervisor to talk about everything.  He agreed that something was not right and would send a specialist five days later.  The specialist could not fix things either!  They did not charge me anything including replacement parts that were not needed!    I ended up replacing both faucets in the bathroom for a little over two hundred dollars with my son in law doing the work!  They tried to scam me and tried to sell me products.  They told me that the problem faucet would break trying to remove it, which it did!  But they tried to get me to buy expensive products and charge me travel time for a parts trip and they did not even check to see if the part was available twenty minutes away.  The guy was gone an hour and forty-five minutes.  He purchased two parts and we only needed one.  He replaced two lines and we only needed one!

Needless to say, I was very disappointed with the experience - especially since I have used them before!

I feel that they were just trying to take advantage of us!

I had a plumbing problem this weekend in a rent house of mine. My go to plumber was on vacation. I remembered that a neighbor of mine worked for Bakers brothers so I gave them a call. They did an awesome job. I'm very pleased with the service. From the initial receptionist who answered my call down to the plumber who fixed the problem, I had a great experience. The price was fair as well. The plumber showed up on time as well. Overall I was very satisfied with the service and I will recommend this company.

Okay, so it's not fun to have a gas leak or a leaking toilet, but Jason Cassidy can definitely make it better! Not only is he a good plumber, he's a great guy to get to know. We had numerous gas leaks in our 1941 built house and he patiently and carefully fixed them all while also making sure that he didn't track in mud or leave the door standing open. Then, we had a leaking toilet and faucet. He fixed them, too, with no muss, no fuss. He was also unfailingly polite and good-humored. He is now our go to for all plumbing needs.

My experience wasn't good with this company after the guy came out, gave his price starting at $200.I mentioned at first, that he may have to check the drain on the roof. Considering my home is an older home. One problem lead to another problem.Which ended with paying these guys $$$.THEY ARE TOO PRICEY !!!!

Our mistake was not reading the reviews. Thank you Baker brothers for the time lost over the Thankgiving holidays. After waiting on Friday for a call back promised in the pm, it never happened, we had to call.  Oh, we were still on the list for service, you called back and said a plumber was on the way. We waited and finally the plumber called.  He then referred us to a third party for tile work since he dld not believe this to be a plumbing issue
.
Plumber called told my husband he did not want to come out to Murphy this late.
After talking to a manager my husband said we will use someone else.

Baker brothers lost out on  $1200.00 worth of service, however, by reading other reviews it would have been much more.

Their ads fooled us once, but will make sure family and friends know our expierence with Baker Brothers.

So the pilot light was out on my recently installed (not by Baker Brothers) water heater.  I followed the instructions on the side and in the manual and then called for service.  I can't complain about the time to get a tech or the service.  What I will complain about is the $130 bill to light the pilot.  The tech did a different set of steps and the pilot lit on the first try.  Had he told me that it was gonna cost $100 more just for him to push the button I would have told him to shut it off and I'll pay the $40.  Evidently this is their standard rate for that.

The pilot light on our gas hot water heater went out. Every time we lit it, it would not stay lit. Baker Brothers came out the next day. They looked at it (joke about what was wrong with it was the brand I had, Whirlpool) and quoted us $1800 for a new water heater with installation and a few other items they needed to replace/work they would need to do. After they left, I Googled the part they listed on the diagnosis that i needed. I found a YouTube video that said the most common issue with the pilot light not staying lit is dust in the vent. I followed the instructions to clean it, pressed the reset button and tried lighting the pilot light again. This time it stayed lit. I am not happy about the fact that they did not start with basic troubleshooting steps and were so quick to tell me to replace the whole water heater.

After reading all the bad reviews, I was skeptical to say the least about using this company. Having said that, I had a very good experience with baker Brothers. Jason came out, was on time, and got the job done with no problems.
To let you know a little about my situation, I had called a few other ( higher rated) small companies to come out and check my clogged drainage pipes. After two attempts with no success, I decided to call a larger company. They (Jason w/ BB plumbing)  came out to my house and got right to work. The problem lead him to my roof, where he was able to fix the problem (a combination of old pipes, roots, and baby wipes...). He (Jason) then let me see with a camera exactly what was going on in my system.
It looks as though I will have to eventually fix a portion of the pipe that has been infested with roots, but for now my system works properly.
In conclusion, I would give baker brothers an opportunity to fix your plumbing issues. If not for there quality workmanship, do it for the year long warranty that backs it up... Overall great experience.

The technician was really knowledgeable and respectful. Caveat emptor: the marketing is slick,  the jingle is cute... but just know, this company is INSANELY expensive $$$$. I paid over $1000.00 for 2-handle shower valve kit installation (parts cost about $60) and $over $1500 for installation of a sewer line cleanout tee (the PVC parts cost about $16). I'm guilty of short-cutting in the name of a quick resolve and not shopping around for pricing and I'll take responsibly for that--but I was completely stunned by that BOHICA invoice. Additionally, I was advised that they'd have to bust out the tile in the shower to access and repair... but I was disappointed at the size of the hole which left the shower unusable. I am of the opinion that when you call a contractor, you are paying not only for expertise but also convenience. This result (an unusable shower, with new handles) is not convenient. When I called to express concern and ask that the shower be put back in working order the customer service manager was insensitive, discourteous, and not helpful. Trust me, next time I'm calling another plumbing service. Like Pete M., in the review below: my first time using this service--and last time.

Wish I had read these reviews before authorizing the work they proposed. We had a leaking A/C unit in the attic that was damaging the ceiling. I was told we needed a float which is a minor plumbing repair. Then they checked the outside compressor claiming that it is their policy to check the whole system before they leave. Lo and behold there was bunch of stuff wrong with it. The plumber was a good salesman, and we were vulnerable with a leaking A/C unit attic that was damaging our ceiling. I now feel that I authorized and paid for a bunch of stuff I really didn't need. Moreover, I feel like I paid too much anyway for what I got. They were here barely over two hours and the bill was almost $1100. Now I feel violated and taken advantage of and will never do this again.

On Friday 12/04/15 I called to schedule a service, hoping to get same day help, but they were booked for the day, so I asked about Monday 12/07/15 and they asked if I wanted morning or afternoon, and I selected the afternoon and asked them for a window of time, and I was told they don't do appointment windows, the technician contacts you a half hour before arrival.  On 12/07/15 I called them at around 3:30 pm to ensure I was still on their schedule, since I hadn't heard anything from them, and they assured me that I was.  At 5 pm I received a call from them and was told they would not be coming today!  I was so furious about wasting my entire afternoon, that I just said thank you and hung up before they tried to reschedule.  Obviously since I was a first time customer of theirs, I wasn't important enough even though I scheduled them ahead of time!

I called baker Brothers to schedule a tech for a bid on some water damage and repairs. The secretary was friendly enough and when she asked for an insurance claim number, I said I'd have to call her back. I called back ten minutes later with the information, and they told me that the person I spoke too was busy so they could transfer me to her voicemail. It was a different person's voicemail, but I left a detailed message anyway. They never even me called back. I thought I would check out Yelp before I tried them again, and glad I did. It doesn't seem like they have very many happy customers.

I was shocked to see the overall poor reviews for Baker Brothers, as our experience has been quite different.  We started with Baker Brothers several years ago, when we had issues with our 2 hot water heaters, that we eventually replaced.  We had knowledgeable service techs come out, explain the problem and our options. They were respectful of our time and called when they were about 30 minutes away or let us know if they were running late ... as things do happen.

More recently, we called about one of our two AC units.  We had just replaced a Trane evaporator coil through another company (our home warranty company chose who came), when the second unit started acting up.  Having had such an awful experience with the warranty company, we decided to call Baker Brothers directly to diagnose the problem, since we felt their techs were honest and very knowledgeable.

Allen Tuell was the tech that was sent.  My goodness, he took great care in checking so many things to diagnose the problem. He went back and forth many times, between the backyard and the attic. We'd think he'd gotten the problem diagnosed ... only to realize there were several additional things going on as well. He had a great sense of humor, which added a bit of levity to the situation, as I was not a happy camper. Folks, he spent several hours here that evening  ... there was no quick fix.  He ultimately explained the options to my husband and me, the pros/cons of each, and then left it up to us to decide. We purchased a new Trane unit. Although we believe it was necessary, it literally took me days to get over the fact that it was such an expensive purchase!  He knew that weighed heavy on my mind and spent time talking me through it.  He called the following day to see if we had any questions/concerns and kept us updated on when the install would occur and explained what to expect.  The install team was pretty awesome as well.  From our experiences, all these guys work hard and are very good at what they do.

I won't tell you they are cheap,  but I would say all of our encounters with them have shown them to be respectful, on-time, professional and very knowledgeable.  They are more than willing to educate you on the workings of any system they are diagnosing/servicing, and thus, make you a more informed consumer.  That's really important.

Highly disappointed. Don't be fooled by signing up for their family plan. We were told by having this family plan, that we got a lot of extra benefits, but I specifically asked about getting quotes on different things around our home. We bought a fixer upper and are doing it little by little, so we will need multiple quotes before we can start the work. I was told that by having this 'family plan' that they will come out and give us a quote at any time, free of charge. Well, I called to see if I could get some quotes for our bathroom, like installing a new toilet, and was told that someone has to come out for that. And when I went to schedule an appointment, I was told that if they don't start the work that day, there's a $40 fee just for them to come out! Then after complaining that I was told otherwise, they sent an email to the manager and said he would call me back either that day or the next. It's been a week and still haven't heard from anyone. Those commercials about 'great service'... HA! Ridiculous.

Buyer beware!  What a horrible practice.  Incredibly expensive, came out and did NOT fix the problem or even identify it correctly and in the process broke the toilet.

I would never use these guys again.  Beware that they quote they give you when they are there may only be part of the cost.  They took apart my marble bathtub to replace a faucet; left with the marble panel leaning up against the bathtub and said they'd send someone out to fix it.  4 days went by before we even got anyone to say they are coming out and then we were told we would have to pay to have that done.

I don't write a lot of reviews, but if I get either really great service from someone, (or really bad) I feel compelled to spread the word. If I had written this review a week ago I might have had a different review, but now that my service is complete I have to say this is a top notch company and they saw my problem through to completion and with very fair pricing.

After calling them out to have a clogged drain cleared in a commercial building, a tech arrived and spend a couple of hours clearing out the clog. Much to our surprise, he told us that his snake had been caught in the drain and had to be cut off. The ultimate repair for this seemed to be over his head and he said he had to send in his supervisor... I was a little disappointed in this, then became more disappointed after a couple of weeks had passed and i did not hear from anyone (though my drain was working, so it was not a top priority). While it would have been better if the follow up was a little quicker and if i had not had to make another call to get this resolved - it did only take one more call, and my problem was met with swift action and an incredibly professional and a very knowledgeable technician named Wes showed up.  After an hour or so he had removed a bunch of plumbing and snaked a video camera into the drain to find the real problem - at some point in the buildings long history a previous plumber had dropped a fitting into the drain.

When the first tech was trying to snake the line - his snake got wedged and completely caught in the drain where the fitting was. Wes spent another hour or so working on retrieving the broken snake and fixed our problem. I got tied up in other work and before I knew it, he was gone and left his bill for the follow up - $0. Once he showed me what the problem was, I was sure I would be receiving another bill and felt like it would have been completely fair. Great service and understanding of the situation - bringing the right solution for the problem.... I will call again when I need help in the future. These are great people with a great work ethic !

I scheduled an appt. for 8am, 12/1/15.  Received a call at 8am saying that the assigned plumber had called in sick and that my appt. was pushed back until 9am.  I called them at 1035 am after hearing nothing  .   That call revealed that they had overbooked.  When I requested a time window ie: morning or afternoon, they were unable to honor that request so I cancelled.  I don't know which irritated me more,  the lie about the sick plumber, the overbooking, or the fact that although my morning was wasted, they still couldn't or wouldn't give me a window.  Five minutes after I cancelled, they phoned back, stating we have a technician that can come over immediately.   I took that to mean they had pushed back someone else so they could cater to an upset customer.  I refused,  too little, too late.

I was very hopeful that these guys would be the good nice guys they advertise to be on TV.  They walked in the door and within a couple of minutes were quoting prices to do work that were out of control.  When asked about the options, they admitted they were sure what needed to be done yet.  So they said they would look closer at the problem and figure out exactly what needed to be done.  They then came back and said that they needed to ripe up the floor and do major work to fix the leak.  Still wanted over $2000.  I asked them to leave an estimate and that I would check a couple more plumbers and get back to them.  Well now they wanted $500 for leak detection and trip visit.  I had opened the wall and showed them exactly where the leak was.  there just kept insisting that they needed to be paid.
They are total scam artist.  They use the commercials to open the door and then try to con their way to a big payoff
Don't give these guys a chance.  They will take advantage of you.

I cannot believe the negative reviews here. every time I have had to use Baker Brothers (and it has been numerous times due to a faulty hot water heater - the manufacturer's issue) the plumbers have been courteous, prompt. professional and have given me all options before beginning any service. I definitely recommend Baker Brothers!

After posting the 6/1 review I talked with Joel, a supervisor, and discussed my experience with Baker Brothers, he says they have a 100% customer satisfaction
guarantee, and agreed to refund my 302.81 service call. I was going to file a complaint with the BBB but called them fist to give them a chance to resolve the issue. They handled it to my satisfaction. So, from my experience with Bakers Brothers Plumbing if  you have a bad experience with them, bring it to their attention and they will make it good.

Baker Brothers were very punctual for an emergency hot water repair.  That is wy they get one star.

UPDATE -
I wrote the complaint below.  I went to my mail box today and got a total refund.  Obviously a quality company...

However once at my home, they tried to sell me a new hot water tank immediately off the bat.  Then when it was requested they just repair the current hot water heater, they had to special order a part and it was almost as expensive as a new heater.  Plus I then had to go 3 more days with out hot water.  In the interim I had another company out that repaired the tank in less than 10 minutes.  Instant hot water.

I had to pay in advance for the special part.  I called to let Baker Bros. know and they were extremely rude.  I really didn't expect them to refund any money, all thought I had paid for the part and the labor in advance for the repair once the part came in.  You would think I could at least have my part....

Jacob, Justin and Oscar deserve infinite stars!  All 3 came out to fix our plumbing issues about a week and a half ago and they did a fantastic job!  They were very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, extremely nice and friendly and punctual. Poor guys had to work under the crawl space which I am sure was unpleasant.  We are so glad that we chose Baker Brothers Plumbing.  We were happy with their services from day one when Jacob came out to give us an estimate.  He was very thorough in assessing the situation and knowledgeable of what needed to be done.  He also gave us the total estimate of costs that same day, which we appreciated very much.  We agreed to the terms that same day and scheduled the work to begin the following week. Should we ever need to call a plumber in the future, we'll be sure to call them again and I will be referring them to anyone I know who's in need of a plumber.  Thank you Jacob, Justin and Oscar!  We truly appreciate all of your hard and great work!

Called this business when two other smaller companies never returned my calls for service.  They offered to come out  Saturday but it wasn't urgent so I opted for next business day, which they easily accommodated.  The plumber technician was quite helpful,  professional, courteous and kept my kitchen clean.  Only downside was their pricing is a bit steep.  I had two drains jetted @ $225 each, which was bit a nutty considering the two drains shared the same pipe for a majority of the distance and he didn't need to repeat the common distance.  What's even nuttier is that the originally offered price was $400 each from which he immediately came down to $350.  That was for the service with a 1-yr warranty.  When I hesitated, it turns out that with a 90-day warranty, it's $225.  Important data point on how much you pay for warranty, especially service warranties, which can be easily circumvented by the offering companies the next time you let them in your house.

Called them for my home A/C running but not cooling.
Technician came almost on time and asked me about the problem and I explained to him everything that was going on up to that date.
Technician started doing his job connecting his instruments but not sure if the readings were correct or not.
As an electrician and technician in industrial machines I made him few technical questions about A/C but he was not able to give me the answers. He just gave me answers like maybe  I don't know I am not sure I never heard this before .
After these couple answers I realized that I was dealing with a NOT knowledgeable
A/C technician.
Just after these  couple questions he started to push me to buy a new unit instead to fix my not properly working unit. He also tried at every minute to sale me a protection plan program for future A/C problems.
On his lack of knowledge he try to convince me that the unit wiring was the reason of the problem and after replace the wires the problem still the same as before.
As he saw that he was dealing with someone who was not ignorant in the electrical and mechanical field he said that to get that running good I will need to buy a new unit and that is it.
To close the day he gave me a bill of $298.00 to change 18 of 12 AWG wire and $39.00 for the visit. I did not agree with his charges and just paid him  $39.00 for the visit and gave him a $20.00 Dollars tip and let him go.
A member of my family had a similar experience with this company before when they charged this member's wife $2200.00  to fix his A/C when he was out of the country.
I will give you a discount if you buy my plan they said to his wife.
I seriously DO NOT recommend this company to anyone.
Be careful if you plan to get they working for you.

Their estimate was 388.00 to replace a washer on a leaking tub faucet. This was $200 plus over the highest average cost online. There were no other problems. They stated they were charging over one hundred dollars to go to home depot and buy the part. REALLY? Ripped me of for 39.00 to come out and screw me.

My Baker Brothers estimate WITH warranty was $3769, my Baker Brothers estimate WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY was $1300; I went with someone else who fixed it for $300 and $100 tip on my part.

The area around my water meter was completely saturated in water.

Prior to me calling Baker Brothers, I had called the City, who shut off the water meter, pumped out the water and POINTED to the exact leak, a Quest fitting directly off the water meter (the Tenant also witnessed this). They also pointed out that it was on the house side, not the city side, hence why I needed a plumber.

Travis from Baker Bros Plumbing came out to the house and begins to tell me that the leak is right next to the sidewalk. I didn't stop him (Travis not knowing that the guy from the City specifically pointed out where the leak was) and he proceeds to tell me how he may need to tunnel under the sidewalk and if the City allows them, to cut the sidewalk. He shows how he needs to tunnel a 3 foot section around the water meter. He tells me about the Quest fittings and that there's a lawsuit against them and they are simply a bad design, so bad that if he fixes this today, there's no warranty. [Great, in my mind, I'm thinking, what's my protection against you doing shoddy work?] I ask him point-blank, So what you are telling me is...I could spend $1300 today and if it leaks again tomorrow, I'm out $1300, because there's no warranty at all? He responds, Yes that is correct. Then he proceeds to upsell me on the fact that he can replace the entire plastic Quest line with copper for $3700 with a 10 year warranty.

Knowing I will get a second opinion, I ask for a few minutes to discuss this with the tenant, because now we still have water leaking and to get another plumber out would likely be the next day. At this point the tenant walks out and empathizes with me about the conundrum of having to wait another day or proceed with the work and he points to the water meter and questions the amount of time it would take just to replace the nipple fitting where it is leaking. I ask Travis in front of the tenant if the leak is at the water meter OR next to the sidewalk, that Travis specifically pointed out originally. Travis then changed his story completely and stated it was at the water meter.

At that point I politely said, let me pay the trip charge and I'll call you if I decide to proceed further. I gave Travis $40 in cash (as noted on my receipt) for the $39 trip charge and he stated he didn't even have a $1. [Baker Brothers Plumbing, yes, you still owe me $1]

Always trust your gut and from the very beginning, I felt like Travis was trying to swindle me. The guy from the City specifically showed myself and the Tenant where the leak was, yet Travis has this entire story about cutting into the sidewalk (if allowed by the City) or having to tunnel 3 feet underneath it!  My specific water meter cover is 1-2 feet away from the sidewalk and I could see where the leak was without having to tunnel under any sidewalk, again, the guy from the City showed me exactly where it was. I was able to reach down and touch the leaking fitting with my own hands!! Basically, had the guy from the City not showed myself and the Tenant exactly where the leak was, I'd likely be out $3700 today! (Because who would shell out $1300 for something with no warranty whatsoever??)

I trusted my instinct and called my WATER SPRINKLER GUY! I hadn't said more than Quest fitting and he knew exactly the problem as he replaces the Quest fittings all the time. (Something I would think Baker Bros does all the time, too and would recognize as the issue.)  Baker Brothers, if you've been in business since 1945, don't tell me your plumbers hadn't seen a quest fitting (at the water meter) break before... what's this story about a 3 foot trench that must be dug and tunneled under a sidewalk?  Unscrew the fitting, replace fitting, screw fitting back on.

My WATER SPRINKLER GUY charged me $300 (parts AND labor) AND that includes a brass fitting to replace the plastic fitting and he used gravel around the fitting area so when the soil expands/contracts in summer/drought, there's less chance of the fitting going bad again from ground-shifting. By the time he called me that he arrived at the rental property and I started to head on over, he had already dug up the metal cylinder cover (20 minutes) and already had the fitting off! The leak was exactly where the guy from the City had pointed to, the same fitting I could reach down and touch with my own hand. He only had to dig the width of his shovel to get the metal can out and wasn't even close to the sidewalk! In fact all he had to dig up was the metal cannister. He later showed me the red-triangle thing to show that it wasn't leaking and we ran hot/cold water and the outside spigot to get the air out and re-affirmed there were no further leaks.

$300 second opinion or $1300 with no warranty or $3700 with warranty had I trusted Baker Brothers....

I mailed this letter to Baker Brothers in February and still have yet to receive a response...  so use them at your own risk.

February 16th:
I wanted to communicate my dissatisfaction, and upon reading some reviews, realize that the issue seems to be an ongoing problem.  On Sunday January 22nd, my toilets backed up and my boyfriend called your company to get more information.  He was told that there would be a charge for coming out on Sunday, but if they came out on Monday morning that fee would be waived and I would only be charged just a $39 fee.  He was told that your plumber could be at my home around 8am.  We agreed to that and my boyfriend let his employer know that he would be taking 4 hours off on Monday morning (so he could handle this on my behalf.)  My boyfriend called me at 10am and said that he had to leave to go into work.  A short time after that (at 10:20am), I received a call from your office sharing that the plumber was on his way to my home.  I called off my sales meeting with my staff, left my office to go and meet your plumber.  He arrived at 12:40pm.  He arrived at my home over two hours late and not even a phone call, or an apology when he showed up at my front door.

Beyond the lack of complete disrespect for my time, the 'discount' promised on the phone on Sunday wasn't accurate.  I should have called my original plumber and had them come out on Sunday and I would've been charged the same amount and saved my boyfriend's 4 hours time off and my 3+ hours time off and lack of productivity.

Should have read these reviews before I hired them but I needed something done quickly.  Had them flush a drain pipe that was backed up for the low low price of $265 (for a little over an hour of work).  There was a blockage in the drain pipe that I actually dug up and fixed while the Baker Bros guy was still there.  When he was finished I saw him writing something on the receipt.  I assumed it was just what work he had done.  He then told me sign here.  After I signed I saw that what he had been wrting was no warranty due to broken accordion pipe.   The same accordian pipe that was no longer blocked because I had dug it up and cleared the blockage.  I found it ridiculous that after the pipe was no longer blocked (because I unblocked it) he still wrote there would be now warranty.  Of course an argument ensued that went no where and I called the manager and left a message and he has not returned my call.  Don't use this company!!

Highly disappointing experience with this company.  I called because I was concerned about a smell in my house that I thought might be a gas leak.  Rather than asking if I had checked with the gas company, which I now know I should have, they sent a tech and I ended up paying almost $400 for him to check.  I complained, a manager called me and rather than trying to work something out with me, she defended the charges.  I do not recommend them.

Used Baker Brothers 5 times since 2005. December 2007 had a new hot water heater installed. 10 year warranty. Within less than 5 years had rust colored water. They came out and drained/flushed the heater at my expense. Three times in 2013 same problem except I drained/flushed myself. Called Baker Brothers August 12th. Over a period of two weeks I called repeatedly to no avail. Was finally told since they no longer sold the brand they installed in my house their was no warranty or help available from the manufacturer or BB. New plumber, new hot water heater. Baker Brothers didn't even offer to quote me a price. on a replacement.

I called BB to take a look at a second-story toilet that had leaked the day prior and damaged dry wall on the first floor.  BB showed up promptly and their professionalism and my satisfaction stopped there.  After about thirty minutes of 'analysis', the technician informed me that he didn't know what had caused the leak, so he wouldn't certify to repair of the toilet unless I allowed him to replace and reset the entire toilet, at significant cost.  This was interesting since I told the technician I'd replaced the toilet supply line two days earlier so I suspected this was the source of the leak but since we hadn't seen the leak, I needed the input of an expert.  After some additional discussion in which the technician wouldn't budge from his diagnosis of expensive total replacement or nothing, I told him thanks but no thanks.  It was close to $200 for a total waste of my time and no help whatsoever.  So why 2 stars?  Only so maybe this review isn't deemed 'not helpful' by the robo monitor and excluded from the rating average (I mean, excluding 74 reviews of 82 for this business, really?). If you need a plumbing issue addressed do yourself a favor and call a different vendor.

FAILED INSPECTION:  We had been on their family plan so a technician came out for free to look at our older hot water heater; said they could install a new Rheem hot water heater for $1552.18 including all parts and supplies.  We agreed on the price and had them come out the next week.  It took the two guys 4 hours to drain the old tank; were in a rush and poorly installed the rest of the hot water heater.  When the City of Dallas inspector came out the following day, IT FAILED INSPECTION DUE TO GAS LINE!!  They had to come back out again (3 times in total). I called to notify the manager (Johnny), who said he would call back the next day after it was fixed and not red tagged.  Johnny NEVER CALLED BACK, so I called and got the usual run around from the other crew in main office.  Finally, the next week Johnny called to apologize and offered a 6.5% refund.  WE CANCELLED OUR FAMILY PLAN!  You pay inflated prices to bigger companies knowing that the job will be done right the first time and pass city inspection... WILL NOT USE AGAIN!  Take your chances elsewhere...

They have changed radically.  They were here 2 years ago and on time and did a great job.  I HAVE WATER POURING ON MY FLOOR from my hot water heater.  I called 3 places at 7:30 am, they said they could get her fastest.  I said great, called the other two back and said, don't bother we got this covered.  Two hours later they weren't here and hadn't called.  I called them and they said, oh we are running late and we will be there.  They never called and never showed.  At 4:30 pm I gave up and called another plumber, who not only came within 30 minutes, but charged me less money than BB quoted me.  I called BB and said, they aren't here and she tried to put me on hold before I managed to stop her and told her not to bother.  I am very disappointed and will not be calling them again.  Call Classic Plumbing in Plano.  Ask for Bill... nice guy.

I called Baker Brothers for a leak in my ceiling. It turned out to be the guts inside the toilet tank upstairs needed to be replaced and the wax ring under the toilet needed to be replaced. They cut a hole in the ceiling in my kitchen which they said they do not repair. After 20 minutes of mealing around and going back and forth to truck my quote was $400 or I could just get a new toilet from them for $700. I forced the guy to show me in laymen's terms what the problem was. I have experience with changing these parts so I knew what they would cost and how much work was involved. I looked at the guy like he was insane. So I had to sadly pay $250 for the house call/inspection. Then $30 and 1 hour later I fixed it myself. This company and its employees are very dishonest. DO NOT CALL THEM. Yes they do get there fast just so they can rip you and undeserving people off.

They had done a good job for me so I referred them to a friend.  She needed someone to go under the house and turn on a valve to a line that supplies water to the refrigerator. She had just bought the house and it had been turned off.  They charged her $200.  That's no repairs, just turn a valve.  It was more than they charged me a few weeks ago to totally change the valves on my sprinkler system.  I wrote to them on their web site and have gotten no response.  $200 to turn a valve.  Don't use them.

My recommendation is you do NOT use Baker Brothers. Cost me $171 for a 15-20 minute task (unclogging a sink). This was after a $50 'discount' they applied after the confusion/misunderstanding on the pricing  was discovered. 0 stars.

I finally had to write a review, because I can't stand watching the commercials every morning advertising their great service and fair price.  Our toilets were making a loud cruise ship horn type sound, which the technician described as reverberation coming from the flap and stopper.  The technician then explained that 2 of our toilets were having this issue and this was a MAJOR repair, and to fix would be more than $700.  Really?  You can buy an entire toilet cheaper than that.  After I questioned the technician about the part, the $10 part from the hardware store, he confirmed yes that is what he was talking about, and then said he could probably do the repair for $350.  When I still said no, he called his manager who then said they could do the repair for $180. So, from over $700 to $180?  I felt duped, taken advantage of and beyond irritated.  I then said this was not the kind of company I would be doing business with, paid the $39 trip charge and sent him on his way.  I would and will NEVER do business with this company.

Had a small leak on an external water spigot outside of my home. Have brick exterior. He came out , glanced at it and pulled out his binder and said, $ 320 . If damaged the brick on wall which he did not need to. Unscrewed spigot and put new one in. 10 minutes worth of work and left a big hole in my wall where you broke the brick to look inside wall. Again, he did not have to damage brick. Could have just rotated spigot counterclockwise to remove and pull out. 10 minutes worth of work and still 320 and left. Overpriced and negligent. Then they call wanting to know how serivce was. Told them 2 out of 10 stars and informed them i would not use their service again.

I appreciated them so much. They did awesome  plumbing work. I had major plumbing work done($4,050.93) and John and his crew made me so happy by getting the job done the right way(I had another company out 2x and they couldn't get my plumbing fixed right). 3 underground pipe leaks had 1 toilet toilet useless and a pipe protruding out of my master shower causing the water not to drain. The guys were so polite during the days of their work and made sure their drop cloths were laid every where they stepped foot. John arrived at 7:30 am to make sure he was there for the inspector who was expected to arrive between 8-4, he arrive at 7:50. Given the inspectors sign off, the work was completed by end of day. Thank you Bakers Brother. Also mentionable is the great customer service received from the home office personnel. I will use them again(but I hope I do not have cause to)

I had a leak in my living room, and I called Bakers Brothers ,big company and i see their ad on television, the tech showed up and said i would have to pay him $320 and $128 for every hour after 3 hours to locate the leak and after i said $128 is too expensive ,he said normally it wouldn't take more than 3 hours and of course it took him an hour or less to find it. He collected the $320 and came with some numbers to repair the leak, $1,600 if they have to dig and made a hole thru one area in the living room and if they can't get to the pipe thru it they have to dig another hole thru the master bath and it cost me $2,500. I thought it was bizarre to dig two holes to fix one pipe, anyway i said okay. Then the following week the plumber showed up in the morning and had absolutely no clue to what he was supposed to be doing..... i showed him the two areas where the tech made the marks and i told him to call the tech before starting to drill the area. He couldn't get hold of anybody and he started to drill now. after hours he said he couldn't reach the pipe and start drilling thru the master bath,he couldn't drill that deep and he said it getting late and he said some else is coming monday and left for the day.Now it is  Monday BB didn't show up and i called the office they have no clue to what is going on, don't have anybody scheduled for the work that they have  already started, i called the manager twice left a message on his vm and with the receptionist, didn't even bother to call at this time I'm very frustrated,no hot water, dirt everywhere ......and told the lady that I'm canceling you and I will find some else to fix it. The  next day the  tech came back and said i have to pay up to $2,000 more to fix the pipe.  I said no thank you. I talked to the manager briefly and told him,to cancel it and told him  about all the mess and the dirt rugs they have left and he said some will call  me and come to clean up, of course no call and no show. And to find out later they didn't have to drill and make another big mess in the master bath unnecessary to get more money just a rip off...... it has been a nightmare .

I called Baker Brothers and two other plumbing companies to get a verbal estimate for a hot water heater replacement.  Randy answered all of my questions and assured me that there would be no additional charges. He set the appointment for the following day. Josh and Fredo arrived and did a terrific job and actually went above and beyond getting the water heater up to code.  They were professional and courteous and took great care to protect my wood floors. They answered all my questions and went through the operation of the new unit with me.  There were no hidden charges.  They did recommend a flood stop since the heater is in a closet in the house. While there was absolutely no pressure to do so, I knew it was a good idea and took advantage of it.  I signed up to have them do the yearly service for my furnace and air conditioner and, by doing so, received a substantial credit on my bill.  I'm extremely pleased with the customer service of Baker Brothers and will absolutely use them in the future and recommend them!

I had the drain stopped between the house and the main line.  I have an outside two way clean out.  I just needed the line from the house to the street rotored.  I called three companies.  Baker Brothers would not give me a price over the phone as the plumber needed to look at the job to give me a quote.  As the other two companies had quoted about the same price and Barker could get here first I told them to come on to my house.  As soon as the guy got out of his truck he said that the price was $220 which was $100 higher than the other 2 companies.  I told him no thanks.  He then said that I would have to pay the $40 trip charge.  I told him where he could put that bill and he sat in front of my house for 20 minutes until I called the police and he then left.  Never, never call Baker Brothers.

I was disappointed with my service.  I heard a pop in my wall in the bathroom next to the tub. I looked up several services and came across Baker Brothers and remembered the tv commercials.  I did not have an issue with the service call fee but I did have an issue with the service.  First, I was told a hole had to be cut in the wall and it would cost around $230.  I requested to cut the hole myself. I own a sheet rock saw and it took me no more than 10 min to cut. The tech stood and watched and made the comment that he normally does not wait for this task to happen. I am assuming he was not pleased that I did not want to pay $233 for something I ( 30 something female) could do herself.  Next, he was able to observe the leak and stated I needed to replace my entire Union and faucets due to leak on the cold side of union.  I was quoted around $780.  After conferring with another family member, I was told the price was outrageous. While conferring with family, the tech went outside and turned off water.  I then told the tech I was unable to complete the repair at this time and I would call back. He took the call fee and left.  He left without suggesting to cap off the leak and left me with the water turned off.  Now, I am in a home with no water and if I have it turned on, I will have water running all over my floor because I was not offered a temporary remedy. I was not offered to have water in the house but just be unable to use that particular shower until I can have it repaired.

I had Baker Bros. out to give me an estimate on an expensive job of re routing my sewer lines.  Keep in mind, out of 8 plumbers this is the only plumber who was charging a fee to give an estimate, but the person on the phone said it was $39 and would be applied to the work order if we chose them.  The tech arrived on time, but one of the first things he told me was that the price would be over $100 to do the work for the estimate.  I kindly told him that if that was the case he could pack his stuff and leave, that the Baker Bros office told me it was $39.  He then said okay he would take the measurements for that price.  The tech did his work, was polite and respectful, I payed him with a check and he was on his way.  Well 2 weeks have gone by and still no estimate.  I called the office once and the guy said he would have it done that night or first thing in the next morning, he did not, and no courtesy call.  I called and requested a refund of my $39 fee and told them not to bother continuing, I'm not sure they were anyways.  I can't speak for their actual plumbing work, but the customer service is the ABSOLUTE WORST!  I will not ever waste my time calling them again for anything.

I had a leak from bath tub when fill water in bath tub. Called Baker Brothers for check and fix. A plumber came. He told me first hour $159, then $138 for every hour after first hour. Before first hour almost finished, I asked him if he found where was the leak, since I couldn't afford open ended hourly charge without knowing how many hours he needed to identify where was the leak. He was able to tell me the leak was from overflow before the first hour finish. There was a gap between the tub wall and overflow pipe could be seen. Then he sat down checked his Baker Brother price book and told me it cost $179 for him to replace the gasket (Later I bought the part from home depot for $1.98). I told him to proceed. But he said he need to charge my credit card first before fix it. I gave him my credit card and he text my card # to Baker Brother office, and confirmed my credit card went through for total charge of $338 before start to work. After he started to fix just 5 min, he told me it would not work just replace the gasket, since the overflow pipe in the wall was not properly built at the first place. He needed to cut the wall and rebuild the overflow pipe. It would cost $700 (not include to put the wall back). At this point I asked him to stop the work. Then he told me my credit card would be charged first hour of $159, and, I would get refund of $338 already charge. I have since bought the gasket myself from Home Depot for $1.98 and spent 10 min put it in between bath tub and overflow pipe. The problem fixed. Checked my credit card online, and, still seeing both $338 and $159 being charged. Will need call my credit card to let them take off the first charge. Baker Brothers good or bad? You can tell from my experience.

If I could give these guys 6 stars, I would!!! We had been having trouble with our master bathroom double vanity sinks backing up in August. It started last year just months after buying our house so we called a plumber recommended to us by our home warranty plan -they cover plumbing issues but not blockages- and he said it would cost over a grand just to use some machine to 'blow out' our entire system. We didn't see how that would be necessary since we only were having trouble with our master bathroom sinks - literally nothing else was being affected so we called another plumber for a second opinion (this plumber was recommended to us by a co-worker) and he wanted to cut open the wall between the sinks so he could get to the T shaped pipe to 'diagnose' the problem. That would have cost us a minimum of $650 because then we would have to get someone in to repair the sheetrock and paint since the plumber wasn't going to do that. Finally, we called a third plumber and they suggested baking soda and vinegar. To our delight, it worked! ...or at least seamed to until this past July came around and then we were back the the SAME problem. I was at my wit's end! I was pulling out of my subdivision just a few days later and saw a Baker's Brother Plumbing van parked in front of one of the houses and thought I'd research them. I checked various reviews and I checked on Angie's list. Based on the good feedback, I thought we'd give them a try. THEY WERE WONDERFUL! Hands down, they were the most professional, courteous, and knowledgable of all of the plumbers! They didn't have an attitude and they took the time to explain what the found and what their proposed work would encompass as well as cost instead of acting like I was irritating them or pestering them. They actually found the CAUSE of the problem (our A/C line hooks up with one of the sinks which causes yucky algae-type build up which leads to backed up sinks) - something NO ONE had been able to do - and they fixed it quickly and for less than HALF of what the very first plumber wanted to charge! They even game me a tip for how to prevent the problem in the future so that I wouldn't have to call a plumber. I have given their name out to EVERYONE who has asked and even many who haven't asked since you never know when something like this might strike. These guys will have my business from now on!

My elderly parents used Baker Bros. to clear a clogged pipe. They had to come out three times. The first time they didn't have the tools they needed. The second time they came out and did the work and then wanted more money when they assured my father there would be no additional charges. The sink clogged again a week later, my dad called and was assured again they would come back out at no additional charges. A different guy came back, fixed the problem and then wanted $370. My father refused to pay and told him to call his office . The Baker Bros. plumber actually threatened to call the police if my father did not pay him. My father told him to go ahead and call the police(why wouldn't he just call his office??) He left and came back in a few minutes later(without knocking, just let himself in) and advised them the police had been involved and there was now a lien on their property. First of all, what kind of customer service is this?? If you ask me, this was intimidation because my parents are elderly! Second what kind of an idiot thinks the police get involved in these matters. Can't believe Angie's List endorses this company.

I contacted Baker Brothers to do a $285 static test on a suspected sewer line leak under the slab of my home.  The plumber had to remove a toilet to do the test.  The first thing he told me was that he couldn't remove it without changing my water supply valve and line that connected to the toilet because he said it was an old one-piece type.  He said it would cost an additional $157 to replace it.  I had replaced one myself recently in 10 minutes with parts cost of $15.  Since their price was ridiculous, I told him that I would disconnect it from the toilet myself (which took 30 seconds), and he wouldn't be responsible for any damage.  He then proceded to remove the toilet and plug the sewer line, and fill the complete system with water.  After about 15 minutes of running water from one sink into the system, he said the line wouldn't fill and that I had a major leak.  I suggested running water longer as I have a large single story home with a lot of bathrooms and sewer lines.  He said no, that it had run enough, and suggested he start a $1250 test to pinpoint the leak or leaks.  I'd had enough and sent him away.  I contacted another leak dectection company and they did a very thorough detection and found my sewer system had NO LEAK!  I would not recommend Baker Brothers to anyone for anything!

Called this company on Thursday when a diverter stem on my kids shower popped out, they came on Friday and quoted me 560.00, I said no thanks...then they called back and said 320.00. I had them make the repair. That night I tried to take a shower and was standing in 6 inches of water, there was more water out of the bath faucet than the shower, I called and reported and they could not send anyone out again until Mon. They sent the same (very nice) entry level tech. This time he went to purchase the correct parts (not at Home Depot this time, he assured me) and came a third time to install, the same problem exists and now the water comes out the handle as well. I asked to speak to his supervisor and David called that night and asked me to test the shower again that night and call him. Well I did and it's still not right and not the adjuster ball is all messed up...and guess what, David won't return my calls, I have even requested  for the GM to call me...no luck. STAY AWAY....NOT A GOOD PLUMBER.

Called Baker Brothers out to fix a broken flang on my toilet.  He got here looked at it for about 1 minute and said because it is an offset flang that the tile would have to be jackhammered and foundation hammered out to move the opening in the pipe back to put in a strait flang and that they would bring it back to concrete but I would have to get someone to come out and replace the tile. His bid for this job $1542.11. I ask if there was any other way to fix it and he said no.  So I paid his $39 service call and then I called My Local Plumber and had them come out and give me a bid.  The two young men came in looked at the problem discussed a few different options to fix it the third option was the one Baker Brothers came up with.  The first option of removing the old flang and replacing it with a new one worked great.  Baker Brothers only knew one way to fix it $1542.11 + tile repair.  My Local Plumber fixed good as new for $287.77 parts and all.  You tell me who is the better plumbers.  If you need a plumber call MY Local Plumber you wont be sorry.

Late on Friday afternoon we discovered a small leak in the water main in our front yard.  We called Baker Brothers on the recommendation of a friend.  They said on the phone they would charge $200 just to come out since it was on a weekend.  Fine.  In the meantime, my husband dug down to where the pipe was and found out exactly where it was leaking, exposing the pipe.  When the plumber arrived, he said it was going to be at least $695 for him to dig because it was a yard job, even though my husband had done all the work exposing the pipe and the leak.  When we balked, he said it would have been better if we hadn't dug at all because the price was the same no matter if he dug or or not simply because it was in the yard. To add insult to injury, the $200 for the service call was not going to be applied to the work so the total was going to be over $895 !!  After arguing with him, he called the office to see if they could help resolve this and the most they could do was include the $200 in the work.  They were still going to charge the same to dig even though they didn't need to.  We sent them on their way with the $200 service fee which we unfortunately agreed to on the phone.  We will never call them again and we will never recommend them to anyone.
