He figured out the solution to a plumbing problem I've had for years and didn't even charge anything extra for that except just a ten dollar part that solves a thousand dollar potential problem.

He wore a mask the whole time was friendly and very skilled.

Michael is an amazing plumber - always calls back within 15-20 minutes, is super helpful, doesn't perform unnecessary work, and charges very fair prices. He came to help us with an issue with our kitchen faucet, but gave us awesome advice on dealing with other issues and concerns around our house. House shower and toilets were clogged. Called several plumbers in the area to get a quote and to see how quickly they could come and alleviate the issue.

Mr. Hairston called us back first within 1-2 hours of leaving a message. I can't remember the exact time since I was calling a lot of different places. The price he quoted was on par with all the other plumbers around town that had 4 or more stars on Yelp.

What made the difference was his professional, friendly manner. He provided a range in his quote and also offered some additional information about our situation and realistic expectations on time and what may have caused the issue.

He was able to come immediately and look into the issue and arrived in a timely manner and fixed the situation within 60 minutes. He did not offer additional unwanted services, but gave us a straight answer and other options if we wanted a more permanent, albeit expensive solution.

Since he owns the business and has no other contractors, we knew not only were we supporting a small business, but also that the work would be done directly by him.

I had a couple outside faucets that needed replaced, and a couple inside shower valves needing repaired.  When looking for a plumber, I searched for a small local business where the tradesman takes pride in their work.  And I found exactly what I needed with this plumber, Michael Hairston.  He was on time, friendly, worked efficiently, attention to detail, respectful of your property, honest rates, never tried to up sell me.  I highly recommend, and I will definitely use him again.

A+++++  Service. Michael was quick to return his calls with in a very reasonable amount of time. His estimate to install a new water heater that I needed was far less than other estimates, and for a namebrand heater. He didn't increase his price once he got here or after he was done. He didn't give me any BS or try to upsell anything.

He gave me a two hour time window that he would show up and he showed up about five minutes before the time started. He gave me an estimate on how long it would take to install the heater and he got that done a little before then.

He seems to be the type plumber that will give you a fair and reasonable price and will not try to upsell you want anything. He'll tell you exactly what you need or what he suggests you do and then it's up to you to accept his recommendation.

If you need plumbing work, a water heater installation, etc., read over a couple other reviews here on yelp and then give Michael a call. In fact, you can save yourself a lot of time and money by just calling him directly  without researching a lot of other companies.  But, do your due diligence, look at other reviews on other providers and then give Michael a call!

Solid guy. I was unable when he came over so I had my brother work with Michael when he arrived. We had an issue with our shower fader and unable to unscrew a retainer for our stem value. He took care of it fairly easily and my brother said he was very friendly and answered all questions. I would recommend and will likely call him for future concerns.

This has been one of the worst service experiences I can ever recall. Please STAY AWAY!! from this guy. He charged us almost $200 bucks for wrongly diagnosing a leak in our Ceiling. I ended up spending another $200 because of his incorrect diagnosis. After almost four months we are still suffering with the Leak  I would avoid this guy at all costs. Hiring him is like flushing your dollars down the drain. I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against this Guy. I don't think he should be allowed to fleece any more people.

Came here quick,  and performed the work quickly as well.  Michael needed to open a wall,  but patched it so well didn't need to get a separate dry wall person,  and left a clean area.

I called on a Saturday and left a message with the answering service.  Mike called me right back.  I asked him if he could provide an estimate for the freshwater line repipe of our house using pex since we have water leaks based on our post leak test after our foundation repair.  Mike said he used to do repipe installs but not anymore.  However, he took the time to guide and explain to me about the plumbing codes for City of Plano.  Mike also went over the installation of the shower pan which is done by plumbers not tile installers for our bathrooms that has to meet the code requirements.  Very knowledgeable and honest.  Disappointed that he was not able to take on the scope of work.  However, very appreciative that he took the time to answer my plumbing questions.

Quick service. He showed exactly when he said and was super nice and I paid what was quoted. Will definitely use again!

Very honest, helpful, and nice guy. He called us back within 5 minutes and even let my weird mom Facetime him to show him the problem. Turns out everything was good and instead of taking advantage of her and replacing the part, he assured her that the part is fine, it's just very gross looking since it's old and it saved her $350 dollars.

I contacted Michael about a week ago for a plumbing job and he came out to my house as promised.  He investigated the issue, and determined it was not a plumbing issue.  When I asked him how much I owed him for the visit, he said NOTHING.  I was shocked - he didn't charge anything, not even a trip charge.  I actually wound up hiring him for another job, which he tended to very efficiently and charged a very reasonable rate.  Michael is the most HONEST plumber that I've come across.

I used Michael Harrison twice this year.  And I will keep using him!  It all started with a leak! When I noticed it, I called the home warranty people to come out and fix it.  Not only did that plumber do a bad job, they made the leak worst after 2 days.  I did not want them back in my house!  So I went on Yelp and looked up plumbers in the Plano area.  I read the good reviews on Michael Harrison Plumbing and gave him a call.  When I called the secretary she told me Michael will be in touch with me soon.  Not 10 minutes later my phone was ringing.  He came out that day and looked at my sink and told me that the plumber that worked on my sink had stripped the pipe down and that is why it was leaking again.   Michael's recommendation was that I buy a new faucet and he did not charge me for that initial visit to come out and inspect my sink.  He came back later on that day and installed it. My bathroom sink worked again without leaking.  He was a life saver.  
A few months later my hot water heater leaked. (the joys of buying a house!)  The home warranty company sent a 2 star yelp rated company out to my house.  They listed all these upgrades I need to do for my hot water heater and I simply picked up the phone and called Michael.  He came out again that day and told me that he has to go check the warehouse to see if he had a new hot water heater.  After he left I thought I was going to have to go on with no hot water.  But he called a few hours later and told me he has a hot water heater and he could put it in the same day. LIFE SAVER! A house without hot water makes for an interesting time.  So if you are in the Plano area.  You need someone that will come out and explain what he is doing and does a GREAT job.  Call Michael.  He is my go to!

Michael is extremely knowledgeable as well as reasonably priced. I had to replace a water heater in a house without much clearance for it. He made it work! He also changed toilets and faucets. He explained everything to me and cleaned up well after himself. He will definitely be my plumber for my new house. It's exciting to have someone you can trust and that answers the phone every time. Dependable, trustworthy, and reasonable priced. What more can you ask for?

We used Michael in the past. He is honest. He is good at what he does. He does not do extra work if it's not needed, and doesn't create extra work in order to make more money. ABOVE & BEYOND !!  Washer drain was overflowing into utility closet.  Micheal was able to come out that day, test it and fix it.  We were talking about another 'water' issue i was having in the utility closet close to my HVAC.  For months to the right of the HVAC the floor would get wet.  I'd had a roofer out and all the flashing was fine, HVAC guy said no water from there, I was at a loss.  Micheal took off the cover to the coils and they were not draining correctly.  He had some tool that was able to go back and pull out dog hair that was clogging the drain holes (I foster for Good Shepherd {German Shepherds} Rescue and I have a large Pittbull and Rottweiler).   I had many folks look at that issue and none were able to help!  Michael when far beyond my drain issue, and did not charge me any extra - I could not be happier with his talent, customer service and customer care!!!!

Imagine it is 10:00 p.m. and you hear gurgling sounds coming from your attic and then a slow drip coming from the ceiling... yep, your not quite 7 year old hot water heater in the attic just died and started leaking. After 4 days of dealing with a home warranty company and their plumbers, then calling 5 other plumbers in the area to find out options, I was fortunate enough to find Michael. He is no b.s., won't sell you something you don't need, and will fix your hot water heater for a reasonable price. He also cleans up after his job. I can't say enough good things about him!

I called and I thought I had a slab leak. The bigger jobs get referred to Jesse who is a master plumber that works with Michael. Jesse was awesome! Turns out that I had a blockage! Jesse took care of that in short order. Then I had him check out a couple other things. He was honest, knowledgable and quick to follow-up on the phone. We found our plumber!

I have used Michael several times and have been very happy each time.  He has fixed a water valve, cleared a drain and removed a piece of wood in my sink line that was causing low water pressure.

He is always on time and is very helpful in explaining how I can maintain or do certain things myself if I am willing to take them on.  As a new homeowner it is always good to deal with someone like Michael.

Exceptional work and service. Michael has done two hot water heaters for me in the last year, both because of acute issues with them leaking. He is prompt to return calls and keeps commitments. Knowledgeable and reasonably priced. My 'go to' company for plumbing issues. He has done other work for me as well, even teaching me how to fix smaller issues.

Michael is very professional and patient. We have him installed all toilets in my house. He arrived on time and got job done well. He is no rush when explaining everything to you. He cleaned all debris after work and his price is very reasonable. Overall, would recommend him to everyone.

Said it would cost $50 to come out to do an estimate. Said if I explained it to him he might be able to get a better estimate or maybe something small that I could do myself.

After I explained it to him, he asked a few question and said sound you can do this yourself already.  So he told me to give it a try and fix it then call him back if it's something else.

What a guy! I would give him 6 stars if there is such a thing.

Gave Mike a call at 8:30AM; an hour and half later he was available for service. The big companies wanted to schedule me days later or at some random hour. Mike was straight forward and didn't beat around the bush when it came to fixing the problem. He gave me an over the phone estimate of $120, it ended being $138. Great guy/plumber. Will recommend to friends and family.

I called Michael to help fix my broken toilet after Planet Earth Plumbing came and didn't fix the issue (they fixed it but it broke again in a day). Apparently the fix from Planet Earth wasn't really a fix at all as they use cheap materials. We decided it's more cost effective in the long run to just replace my current toilet, which was a piece of crap anyway. Gotta say I'm satisfied with the installation and am super happy to see my water usage come back down to normal!

I had some warping in a cabinet and wasn't sure if it was old or evident of a new leak. In my previous home we had a leak and had to rip out the whole kitchen so I'm very sensitive to these things! Michael came out the very next day after I called, and was so nice and professional. He determined that it was not an active leak. He was understanding of my prior experience so for peace of my mind had me put a paper towel in the back of the cabinet. If it absorbs any moisture then I'll be calling him again! Seriously the nicest and most helpful service technician I've encountered. Highly recommend.

Called at 9am and spoke with a woman who took my info and said Mike would call me back. Mike called about 2 min later and said he could be out that afternoon.  He arrived and was very informative about the issue and even recommend not having to replace some parts that would save me some money. My garbage disposal was leaking and I needed a plumber. Michael Hairston had great reviews. I was not disappointed. He called me back pretty quickly. Because he wasn't sure if something was loose or if the disposal needed replacement until he looked at it, he recommended I purchase one at Home Depot or Lowes. If replacement was not needed I can always return it. My disposal stopped working before the appointment date. He came, checked it and replaced the disposal very quickly. I would definitely call him for other plumbing needs.

Michael came to fix my leaking shower head.  He was on time, courteous, fixed the issue, (even the one I made as a do it yourselfer), and cleaned up his work area.  His fee was reasonable and I asked for his card to put in my contractor file.  I will use him again for any plumbing needs I have.

I haven't been able to use him yet bcs he was booked until Tues (and this was Fri, when I had a 'water rising' problem in my bathroom sink).  He called me back within 5 minutes, and I'll be calling him again next time I need a plumber and hope it's not a water-rising problem!  I recommend you give him a call.  This rating is on his promptness.  mb

Called Michael due to the reviews posted here. He was arrived 30 minutes later and quickly diagnosed my problem. About 45 minutes later he was out the door with problem solved. Previous plumbers had done the bare minimum and only solved the problem temporarily. Michael told me how to prevent the problem and gave me some other helpful tips. Good guy too.

Michael exceeded expectations, needed emergency service related to failed water heater, got lucky with Michael. He was excellent, the dogs liked him and I trusted him the minute I met him. He is on top of our list as preferred contractor going forward.

My wife and I could have hardly been more pleased with Michael Hairston. After having been gouged by a competitor to fix a gas leak, it was more than refreshing to experience first-rate service. They stayed at the task until the job was done, ensured everything was sealed correctly, and didn't make a huge mess of our front yard. And my wife and I had to do a double-take at the price. Just moved into a new home and a kitchen contractor removing a sink caused a leak.  Call Michael after 5:00, he returned the call immediately.  While he doesn't work after normal hours - as he explained, he could work 24 hours a day - he discussed the issue with me, gave me a quote over the phone and was able to come by the next day.  Got the work done, charged me what he quoted and got the work done.  He'll be my go to plumber from now on.

Everything turned out good- but I am really surprised that Michael's office didn't bother to give a courtesy call saying they couldn't handle the business but had recommendations.

Called Wednesday morning and heard back from Mr. Hairston within 15 minutes.  He then gave me an appt. in a timely fashion.  He arrived promptly, assessed the situation and gave me a price on the water heater installation that I thought was very fair.  He was even able to install it that very afternoon.  As a former real estate broker in another city, I am thankful to find such a professional, honest, hardworking plumber--he is just like the trusty, reliable vendors that I constantly relied upon in my business--a rare find!

We called Michael based on other yelp reviews, to come out and pro-actively replace our 10 year old attic water heaters. Michael was on time, had all the materials necessary to do the job, was courteous, did a great job, and didn't leave a mess. The price he quoted was the price we paid. As good as it gets. Michael came out when scheduled. He quoted the job price up front and honored the price.  He changed out a garbage disposal and fixed a leaky toilet. He was knowledgable and professional.  I would use him again.  Although I would prefer paying an hourly rate as opposed to by the job.

Michael has been our plumber for several years. You couldn't ask for a nicer, more professional plumber or one who is more fair. He tends to charge by the task, not by the hour, so you're not paying for some guy to take a smoke break as he puts it. Highly recommended.

We called Mr. Hairston based on his reviews on Yelp and were not disappointed.  I didn't really think he could fix our problem, but he told us his plan before he came and we decided to let him try.  A screw was stuck in the line of a garden tub, completely stopping the flow of hot water.  He managed to get it out, saving us considerable cost of having to gain access to the line.

Michael came to the house to fix a shower arm that had broken off in the wall.  Got here exactly when he said he would.  Trouble shot the problem and had us back up and showering.  Even cleaned up after the job was completed.  Reasonable priced.  Future plumbing fixture issues and he will be the one we call.

He explained exactly what needed to be done, and gave me an estimate that was less than I expected. While he was working, I interrupted him a few times to discuss other plumbing issues. He did not appear annoyed at my interruptions, and patiently explained what caused the problems, what my options were, and what his recommendations were - which generally didn't involve me spending any extra money. Michael is the plumber that you will wish you had discovered much earlier.
