Like many others, was assigned this contractor through American Home Shield. Came to the property once for the initial assessment and never came back. Dodged all of my calls and gave me multiple excuses (sick, busy, etc) that spanned multiple MONTHS.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Had to call American Home Shield to get another contractor assigned.

The technician came to my property and didn't do absolutely nothing but ask where the issue was. Stated he could not do any repairs without the authorization of the warranty company. He came on the 22nd of February and today, the 25th I called the warranty and found out he has not submitted the report to the warranty company.
The person who came to my house didn't do absolutely anything. Believe the other reviews. Don't do business with this company!!

Don't bother calling the phone number listed because it's been disconnected. I'll do you a favor and not share the new number with you because they won't answer, won't return your call, and won't text you back.

I was unfortunate enough to have someone come by for an initial assessment, and they said they would hear back from the warranty company by morning and then come do the job. Here we are two weeks later still with a huge water leak.

Do you self a favor -- avoid.

Again assigned by American Home shield. Came, looked, never sent the diagnosis, never returned my calls or text. Did the same with the home warranty for 3 weeks. Had to fight with home warranty to make them understand he dodged the job. After more than a month another technician will come next week. By the way the home warranty charged me the service. This guy Jody is unprofessional and disrespectful. He will never be welcome in my property again. Disgusted. Too bad I can't choose 0.

Complete waste of time. This business apparently just exists by harvesting an appearance fee from American Home Shield.

Don't believe the promises or the excuses. They might show up to look (although be prepared for them to miss the first appointment and then their time window for the makeup) but they're never actually going to do WORK. I had THIRTEEN contacts with these guys over the span of 5 weeks and all I got were promises. Now nothing. No responses to calls or texts.

They showed up promptly for the initial evaluation and then missed the next three appointments, the last with no attempt at communication for the last one.
I have no idea how good they are at plumbing, but they get a ZERO for reliability.
I should have paid more attention to the reviews...

SCAM ALERT This company is a complete waste of time! I'm not sure how they have not been removed from AHS​ after reading the reviews, I'm currently in the same situation as many other people on here. Had them respond to the first appointment to look at it and said they would return the following day or next and never did. It is almost a month later with several canceled appointments or no shows. Everytime we've had to reach out to them just for them to promise a date and time and them not show up and stop responding. Stay away at all cost and save yourself the hassle and money. Scamming company at its finest, sucks to know many others have delt with the same issue and to know they are still allowed to do this. Wish there was a way to get this company shut down.

Sham company. They only collect AHS appointment checks. They don't call back or follow up. They lie. Reported to AHS twice to take them off their vendor list, but they don't seem to care that they aren't actually doing their job. I'm sorry if you get stuck with them for your next AHS plumbing service call. Like many others on here, this experience caused me to cancel my AHS contract.

I'm so sorry that I forgot his name, but this plumber was my hero. A pipe to my water heater burst and not only did he arrive quickly, he talked me through what went wrong and redid the original set up to decrease the chances of it happening in the future. Thank you so, so much!

Read the reviews from this year!  I have experienced exactly the same things with a very small plumbing issue in the master bath. My claim was through AHS which began 3/25/2021.

I have called AHS 3 times so they would follow up with BB Lewis Plumbers and have gotten no where. Just more lip service.

It's now 5 weeks later with nothing done.

How would you feel.  I wish these guys needed a vendor to come to their home for repairs... they wouldn't put up with this at all!

Just recv'd an email from AHS. BB Lewis ( Jason ) says they can't do the job because of access... so I sent photos of the access for whirlpool tub motor! They continue to put you through Hoop after Hoop until you give up. Going on 2 Months to get a tub motor job done. SO SAD!  They say there is no access?

Update on previous review... Jason showed up and promised to submit authorization and let me know same day... Based on reviews I knew not to get my hopes up for same day but I did check in next day. He says he submitted authorization request... Today I checked again and he said he was still waiting... I suspected this was not true. AHS confirmed that no authorization had been asked for... Now AHS is also dragging feet and playing games... Don't use either of them if you have a choice. Reported AHS to BBB but they don't care and won't likely be making changes... Buyer beware.

Our Hybrid Water Heater started leaking and this person has no idea about the unit and is unable to provide input to the insurance company. Please do not call this company for any plumbing service. they do not act responsibily and provide input and leave customers and insurance companies hanging.
They are also not a registered company with BBB for Ausitn, PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THIS PERSON OR CALL THEM , unless if you want to be left with Half work and NO Input for completion of service request

I can't get them to remove and haul away the old water heater after installing the new one even though that was included in the job for American Home Shield and that was months ago. I canceled my American Home Shield policy since they seem to use BB Lewis exclusively in Austin. They definitely seem overwhelmed and overworked.

My water heater exploded and required a service request through AHS. I was assigned B B Lewis and was very hesitant given their hit or miss reviews. Their service far exceeded my expectations. I was contacted the day after my service request was placed and they were at my house the day after that! All in all I had a new water heater ordered from AHS and installed in 5 days. Jason was prompt, professional and even worked on some plumbing issues I had that weren't part of the initial request! I did have some issues reaching them via telephone but found texting to be an easier/faster form of communication. Overall a great experience, and would recommend.

Got assigned this BB Lewis Plumbing through a claim using American Home Shield.  He was scheduled to come out to fix some plumbing issues yesterday, but he cancelled, and said he would come next day in the afternoon.  Afternoon came and went, we texted he said he would be over around 5, then nothing, I texted and asked where he was he said he had been held up, but was on his way and would be over at 7PM, well he never showed and did not update us that he was not going to show, complete lack of communication skills and time management.  Stay away from using BB Lewis Plumbing and Jody.

BB Lewis was assigned me me by AHS, the plumber showed up, looked at the pipe for 5 minutes and left while I was in the other room. Eventually he called 5 hours later and said he needed to find a specific part and would be back that day, then it turned out it had to be special ordered (sure) then two weeks later on his next appointment he thought he might have covid, (suuuuuure) then after that he just cut off all contact.

I guess this is some sort of scam on AHS? All I know is that BB Lewis is a flat out liar.

Contacted AHS and they assigned B B Lewis Plumbing. Jason came out and set expectations for the repair to be made. After the expectations were not met and I hadn't received any update by Tuesday evening, I began to get worried. Shortly after I started to read reviews and got even more concerned. I then received a text from Jason that his previous job took more time than expected which I can understand. Jason showed up this morning August 3rd and promptly fixed the issue. Overall, I give B B Lewis Plumbing 4 stars... Jason's communication in person is great... but when not in person and keeping the customer updated... I expected a tad more.

Is there less than one star that can be given?!?  These clowns show up to my rental property and can't even locate the cleanout plug!  What plumbing outfit can't find the cleanout plug???  The clueless tech leaves the property at 4:45pm, telling my tenant on the way out the door, I'm doing another job in the area and will be close by.  We get right back with them on the location of the cleanout... and they tell us they might be able to make it back out tomorrow.   WOW....just WOW.

The Chief Clown in Charge is Jason Lewis...who hung up on me when I expressed my disbelief that they wouldn't send the tech back to the property at 5:20pm...very classy.  AVOID THIS COMPANY!

Worst service. They came to our house on 28th Oct 2021 and promise to come back to fix the water heater. Since then have made multiple calls, left voice messages but they never returned any of my calls or messages

If American Home Shield assigns this plumber to you ask for another one immediately!!! All the complaints about these guys are legit.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Jason from BB Lewis came out and looked at my hot water heater. Confirmed that it was leaking and needed to be replaced. He said he would order a hot water heater, but they were on back order. He said he would call let me know when he could install it.

He completely ghosted me after that. One month later and he's still not answering my phone calls or texts. The only updates I could get were through AHS agents. After 3 weeks Jason told AHS that the hot water heater was arriving the following week. That week I called AHS for an update and Jason tells them that he never got the request for the hot water heater replacement.

One month later (today) I got a LEGIT plumber to come out and do the replacement same day.

Avoid them at all costs. These guys are collecting checks from AHS and ghosting customers. Be prepared to spend hours on the phone with AHS if they assign them to you.

He came in a mask which is great and followed through with a good timeline. I'm not yet sure about the job, I'll have to get it a couple weeks until I know it's not leaking.
I'm posting this to make him aware. It appears he did a good job but left all the trash from the job. What would have taken him literally one minute to pick up costs him two stars. It's the big things AND the little things. I was bummed to come home and see trash in my bathroom. Overall,  easy to schedule and to finished the job.

I'm going to echo what others are saying here about BB Lewis Plumbing. Jody came out for an American Home Shield service request. He said he knew exactly what part would be needed and would come back the following Wednesday at 1 PM. I took off time from work to meet him, but he never showed up, never returned my texts, and never returned my calls.

I had a very similar experience with a more recent American Home Shield service request with BB Lewis Plumbing. They called and left a voicemail during a holiday. I immediately returned their call, but left a voicemail because there was no answer. I left texts as well. Again, no response. I called American Home Shield and they were also unable to reach them, so I was reimbursed.

Stay away!!! AHS uses them and you need to call AHS back and get someone else. They do not respond. You have to call them out through text message to get a response and even then there is no apology. See photo. They reviews are terrible and I can't believe AHS would use a company with such a terrible track record.

If I could give zero stars I would. I Called American home shield and they recommended them to come out to fix my issue. That call took place on feb 7. I called home shield  back and was concerned about the Yelp ratings. Thus reassured me that they would take good care of us. They did come out and diagnose the issue and said they didn't have the part but would come out and do it the following Monday. He granted we had the snow storm and I was super patience. I called at the new of February and no return calls I called the warranty company first week of March and the bb Lewis had not even sent in the part order needed to complete. Then home shield called them and by a small miracle they answered and said they would come out the following Monday. Here it is the end of March and still no fix or getting paperwork to home shield.   Do not use them at all. It is a waste of time

This is by far the worst plumbing that I have encountered. After waiting for a day for them to come out to the property, they left without even coming out of their truck. BB Lewis claimed that the plumber didn't see a clear out in the front yard when they drove by. I had to call Roto Rooter to come the next day. Roto Rooter were very courteous and found the the clear out after walking around the house.

Do not ever use this company!!! They will even charge you $75 for a drive by.

I have read the reviews, and I have a completely different take on BB Lewis Plumbing. Jody came out to help us with a shower that would not turn on, even my brother in law coudln't figure out how to get it to turn on.  Jody was on time, I got a heads up phone call before he came...he was here within 24 hours of when I submitted our warranty claim also.

He fixed the shower quickly, did not try and claim it was something else or something that was more of an extensive fix...he just fixed it and did a little extra to insure we won't have the same problem.

We had a good solid perfect experience with these folks and I would indeed recommend them to anyone.  Thanks

Have a contract with American Home Shield, have a leak on the kitchen faucet. Put in a service request and BB Lewis came out the next day. Told us they will file a claim on behalf of us to get the faucet replace but now it's a month later with more than 10 calls made to them and AHS, AHS told us they have not file a diagnostic report, AHS tried to call them 10 times too and even AHS cannot get them on the phone.

If you put in a request and got them, just do yourself a favor and call AHS to change to another plumber before they come out, if not you probably will be stuck like me. Consider yourself warned.

I saw all the bad reviews and was very hesitant, but that's who American Home Shield was sending. I was pleasantly surprised. Jody arrived on time and was very professional. The leak I had wasn't as bad as I thought and he fixed me right up. He could have easily made it seem much worse than it was. Overall, very satisfied.

I wish I could give them zero stars. I was assigned this plumber from American Home Shield. I was given a 4 hour window for him to show up. When only 30 minutes was left in the window, I called and reached his voice mail. My message went something like I have an appointment with you for today between 1-5 pm and I'm calling because it's 4:30 and I haven't heard a peep from you and wanted to see when you may be coming.

I didn't feel that I said it in a rude way. I thought it was a reasonable request.

He called back about 5 minutes later and said he was 30 minutes out. The 30-minutes out would have put him at my place 3 minutes before his window was up. I mentioned that to him (in a questioning way - I was trying to understand) and things turned south. I said I thought that the 1-5 pm meant that he would be there and fix it within that timeframe.

He got very rude and said I don't know if anyone has ever explained a service window to you, but it means that we show up then, not necessarily fix the issue then. He went on to say that I was so rude that he was going to call American Home Shield and tell them that he couldn't service my home today. I apologized and then said that I would still like him to come but he said, No. You lost your chance. I called and scheduled the appointment with you and I was pretty sure I was talking to an adult. I am going to call American Home Shield right now and tell them that there is no way I can service your house and they will get you another plumber.

I called American Home Shield to tell them what had happened - and this time I was truly calling for help - not to complain about him - but it turns out that he had already called the highest manager and told them about our interaction. It's like he was complaining about me!!! The person I talked with was very kind and said that it didn't sound as if I was being unreasonable and he apologized. They found me another plumber.

By that time I was in tears. The plumber was rude - not me. I was the client asking for service - instead I got toxic masculinity with a heavy dose of mansplaining. I will never use this plumber.  I understand that he may have had a bad day - I even said as much to him. However there is no excuse for his ugly behavior.

My experience with these guys was pretty great.  AHS claim, was contacted by BB Leiws the following day, scheduled to come out 2 days later.  Faucet + slow drain fixed within an hour. Super friendly technician, arrived on time and left everything in great working condition.

This plumber is the worst. He is a crook. I had a leaky T&P valve and he refused to replace it. Despite there being water in the drain. He said he would have to physically see water to replace. He is contracted with American Home Shield and rips people off and does no work. Avoid him at all costs.

I opened a service request for plumbing with American Home Shield in late January. I had someone show up on Feb 1st and was told he would be forwarding information to AHS about the work that needed to be done. That was the last time I heard from the company and they do not answer the phone or return my phone calls. I have complained to AHS numerous times and hold them responsible also for allowing this type of situation to continue. They have reached out numerous times and they cannot reach the contractor either. This is absolutely inexcusable!

I had an issue with my garbage disposal and the first company that was assigned to me by AHS never called, never returned any text messages leading me to call AHS back and they assigned BB Lewis Plumbing.

Within minutes I got a call from Jason, and they were at my house the next day and fixed the issue under 15 minutes. They were professional, clean, personable and respectful.

There are lots of keyboard warriors on yelp dumping their negative garbage online. I had my own experience and it was five stars. I would have BB Lewis out again without any hesitations.

Jason did an awesome job for us. We had called AHS because our bathtub faucet was leaking badly. Jason replaced the knobs and stems that were causing the leak, but he also went the extra mile and replaced the whole set of bath fixtures! So instead of some new fixtures next to some old ugly ones, we have the whole new set. Jason said he was concerned that the others might have failed soon too. He was friendly and professional and he even answered unrelated plumbing questions for me. I'd strongly recommend him.

Had the best experience with Jason. I was told that my cold water valve was broken and needed to be replaced. I initially had radiant plumbing come out and quoted me for $1000.

Jason came, was right on time and could quickly tell that the valve did not need to be replaced and there was just built up water. He educated me on what to expect if it was broken and was SO professional and kind. You can't go wrong with BB Lewis Plumbing. Not sure why they have some lower reviews, they are honest and not looking to rip you off like other big plumber companies.

SCAM ALERT Please STAY AWAY from this company!!!  They lied to AHS claiming they completed plumbing work at my house while they never showed up to get anything fixed!!!  I don't know how they can legally be allowed to stay in business.  I also just found out they are NOT BBB accredited and there is no surprise there.

Jason is a scam artist whom I was assigned Jason through AHS.  I had to call and text multiple times for 4 days to get a call back even though I was to receive communication within 24 hours.   Once he came to my house he told me to my face that my tankless hot water damage was caused by age and not the winter storm.  He stated I would have a replacement installed in 2-3 days.  The following day I was notified by AHS that he stated my issue was 100% weather related and would not covered.  I spoke with him on the phone and Jason told me the rules changed and he couldn't risk an audit and hung up.  I have no idea what that meant.  I tried to deal with AHS and they were not helpful.  I canceled them because I feel like every time I used them I got a scam artist like Jason of BB Lewis plumbing.  He assured me to my face that my issue was covered and told me that my problem would be fixed promptly.  Because I waited about a week trying to get him out to my house then telling AHS the opposite of what he told me I had to order a new tankless hot water heater that was on backorder everywhere.  My pregnant wife and I went 3 weeks without hot water and I blame Jason and AHS.  Based on so many terrible reviews there's a clear pattern that Jason takes these calls then says whatever he needs to say to AHS so they don't have to pay for a repair.  He then pockets the $100 service fee from multiple people per day and AHS doesn't have to pay for the repair.  I feel it's an all around scam.  I even angrier because Jason acted so friendly helpful to me with no actual intention of helping me.  Moving forward I will just pay more out of pocket for quality work than deal with AHS and their rolodex or poorly rated repairmen who are looking to pocket your service fee.  Please avoid BB Lewis and Jason who's the owner at all costs.  He and his company do not want anything other than your $100 service charge then will move onto the person to take advantage of.

The man came in with a plunger  I told him about how I tried to unclog it myself but wasn't able to he uses his plunger with seem like not even two minutes and respond you gonna need a new toilet. The man wasn't in my home 5 minutes and it went from a clogged toilet to a broken one. American Home Shield sent this recommend this company. It took about four days and no word from him or AHS .my son came over and put some muscle into it now my toilet is fixed. I called AHS to talk to them about a refund because they weren't able to see how they were being used for a quick buck I'm going to have to find a better warranty company and tell you beware of both these companies.

My Warranty company contracted with Jason to help us with some septic work on 8/24. I called them and left messages several times over the next week with no return call to set up an appt. Finally on Sept 4th I call the warranty company back to change vendors. Well what do you know they get Jason on the phone right away (he never picked up when I called) and Jason says he has openings for me that week and he would call me tomorrow.  That never happened. So I called him and made an appointment for Friday between 10am and 2pm.  I had to take off work and wait at the house.  He never showed.  He never called.  He never picked up the phone when I tried to call him that day and see if he was going to show or not.  
While this guy could indeed be a decent plumber, he doesn't know how to run a business and has no use for any customer service.  Do not use.

Well Jason fails again.  Called in an American Home Shield claim and Jason called to schedule within the hour.  After going to diagnose the issue, Jason went AWOL and failed to submit the order to AHS, answer numerous calls and texts and NEVER completed the repair to this day.  This guy is a total loser.  When AHS assigns your claim to them, call and ask for another plumber

The home warranty people chose them to replace a water heater, but I had to send him home after he started screaming. Honestly, after reading all these negative reviews I was a bit apprehensive about using my warranty (AHS) and getting BB out here to fix my garbage disposal.

Jason was on time, communicated with me when he was on his way, and once he was at my residence, he solved the problem efficiently and with a smile.

I'm not sure what's up with all the negative reviews (not discrediting) but the way Jason conducted him today makes me feel like he's really trying to turn his reputation/business around...I obviously only spent 15min with the guy, but I enjoyed his presence and feel like he did his work in a timely manner and was very professional and polite.

The worst service one can experience.
DO NOT TRUST THEM ! STAY AWAY FORM THIS ONE.

They were sent to my house by American Home Shield Warranty to fix a water leak. The issue was the simplest fix ever. All they had to do was tightening a spigot joint. The person did not even have the right tools and the minimum skills of a human being, let alone a plumber. He screwed up the leak and made it even worse. I trusted him and left the house and came back after two days to a flood of water all over the floor. When I asked them that they are responsible, and they should have their insurance to cover the damage, at least partially, I experienced the worst ever behavior from the owner; a nasty laugh and that I cannot do anything to hold them responsible. B&B assigned a work order though AHS my home warranty company. They took 5 days to respond to the work order, despite being required to respond in 2 days. Jason came to my house, disconnected the sink, and stated that he would return in 3 days with a new part.  After waiting 7 days, I called Jason. His response was that the company was busy and he would not complete the work...despite having been paid and disconnecting my sink. The lack of communication, follow through, and respect should be red flags for all future clients.  DO NOT allow them in your home.

NOT happy with this company!  They were contracted by AHS (American Home Shield home warranty company.)  Once they finally came out, they diagnosed the problem and let me know they would contact AHS to get the part ordered then call me back to make an appointment to install it.  It is now 3 days short of 2 months and I have called 2x and text 2x with no response.  I called AHS to let them know.   AHS called 2x also with no answer and return call.  I do not understand how someone can run a business in this manner (smh!)

Avoid at all costs. They were assigned by American Home Shield (AHS) and they did a faux fix of a water heater that should have been entirely replaced, which then caused expensive secondary water damage. They are absolutely terrible in terms of communication and caused me to waste 10+ hours on the phone with AHS trying to remedy.

DO NOT USE THEM! If you have AHS and they send them out don't use them! They don't answer the phone and work is half done. I contacted Jody several time for him to come and fix things. When he did respond he would set up appointments and NEVER show. I had to pay 3 times before I got the things fixed by another company. Do not use them!!!! They also go by Lewis Plumbing! Be cautious!!

Wow so basically they came for some plumbing work (nothing was broken, just tune ups and whatnot) and after he left, huge leaks started appearing. First from one shower, then the next and every one of them was broken. He adjusted the water pressure and the pipes couldn't handle it. Now they are not responding to their calls. I have no idea what to do now.

After reading a lot of bad reviews I was concerned about using this contractor but we didn't have a choice as it was through our AHS warranty. Jason and his partner showed up on time today and were responsive over text beforehand. They fixed our plumbing issues quickly and were respectful of our home. Our experience with this plumber was very satisfactory!

We give zero stars if I could.

Home warranty company sent BB Lewis out. I paid the $75 and have gotten nothing.

I should say, the plumber drove over, sat in his truck, and his worker came in.

They came out due to faucet issues. I was told a part would be ordered and they would be in touch. Two weeks later I called the warranty company and BB Lewis. Lewis came out a week later and looked at the faucet again only to tell me it was still the same problem. Duh! I knew that.

I was told they would check on the part and call me back. Two more weeks have passed. I have called BB Lewis and the phone just rings. I can't even leave a message anymore.

From the time I called the home warranty and endured BB Lewis' nonsense about six weeks have passed. I called a real plumber and had a new faucet installed.

Stay away from this one.

I will be filling a complaint against him with my home warranty company. I will also be contacting the BBB.

My home warranty company set me up with this contractor. They never called. I called them. They never called me back. I call the warranty company, they called the contractor and he answered and agreed to come out. I took the day off of work. They never showed. Big waste of time.

This is my first experience with BB Lewis Plumbing and I must say I was very impressed.  Jason was fabulous, very respectful and courteous, came in mask and very aware of all COVID recommendations.  The repair was quick and thorough and he also tested everything out prior to leaving.  Frankly, I can't say enough good things about the company or Jason.  Thank you Jason for giving me the opportunity to meet you and your company!  Super experience!

I submitted a request through my home warranty AHS and had Jason respond to the service. Service started off prompt but he had to return at a later date because he needed to order a part. After one week, I hadn't heard anything back so I left him a message and proceeded to leave him 3 more messages over the next couple of weeks. I also looked on Yelp and noticed that he had completed at least one other person's work at least a week after he last left us. Finally, I left him a message to let him know it would be my last attempt to contact him and that I would just try to go back to my home warranty to get the service completed. He called back soon after and said that he was sick and that I threatened him so he wouldn't complete the service. I'm surprised he suggested that he couldn't call back because he was sick even though he did work within that time period and also if you read some of the Yelp reviews you can see that this isn't an uncommon occurrence.

TL/DR - Responded quick in order to collect the AHS fee. Then stopped responding and even tried to lie and threaten me for deciding to go a different route.

If possible I  would give them no stars .As a Valued Customer of AHS it did not mean a thing our water heater went out on friday Dec11 2015 we call and left a  message meant nothing ,nobody called ,nobody came by, I can say I will never do business with these guys they are horrible a follow up call telling me they are  busy would be nice but nothing ,
I also called AHS and cancel contract with them that was worthless
If you are looking for plumber that does not call you back call BB LEWIS because I know they will not call you back.

Should be 0 stars.  American Home Shield assigned Jason with BB Lewis Plumbing to my house when a leak occurred with a bathtub upstairs.  Jason came out the next day and was friendly and found the problem, but said he did not have the time or equipment needed to fix the leak at that time.  He rescheduled for 2 weeks later, as he was about to travel for Thanksgiving, then called me sick on the repair day.  It is now nearly 2 weeks later and he is not responding to my calls or calls or emails from American Home Shield and I have a big hole in one wall and in a a ceiling downstairs.  This is getting really frustrating and the bath is unusable.  So disappointed.  American Home Shield is referring me to upper management to get me reassigned to another plumber.  I hope you see this before they assign this one to you, as they know about the problem but are continuing to use him.

Very disappointed overall. I also, like others, have American Home Shield and they wanted to set me up with BB Lewis.

First, I was on the other line when the initial call came in from BB Lewis. No big deal, I called back within 10 minutes. Phone rang off the hook and then an automated machine stated that the person could not receive voice mails. OK so I tried the # again about 15 minutes later only to hear the same thing. What?! Are you a business or is this a personal phone? And this is the person that AHS is trusting with my plumbing?

So, I called AHS back and told them what happened. Troy tried to call and stated same thing happened to him. So he set me up with another company. Well then I guess BB Lewis called them and stated they could still do the job and they called me back to get in touch with him. OK so I called, waited about 12 rings before a pretty belligerent person picked up. Stated they could not be here until tomorrow morning. I told him this is my sink/disposal/dishwasher and I really cant wait until then, I have 3 kids and n way to wash dishes, and that this was supposed to be an urgent service. He was incredibly rude and short. Stated that when I want the service to call AHS and reset it up and hung up on me! Needless to say, not if my whole house was flooding would I use this company.

This is the reason I got rid of my AHS membership.
I spent 8 weeks trying to get hold of this company - and never got anyone to come. He would invent world class excuses ( grandma in hospital, sometimes leave a note on the door....), but he managed to avoid every single service request.
When AHS got him on the line, he would simply flat out lie to them and tell them did try to stop by- and will definitely stop by TOMORROW!  And never would.
He has mastered the art of manipulating the AHS system. Not sure why he doesn't quit and let other interested parties  do business!

Went through AHS and B.B. Lewis showed and said he needed to order a part; never heard from him again, and we promptly contacted American Home Shield to put in a negative report. According to them, this business has had a multitude of negative reviews, all with the same theme. Sounds like the scheme is to get paid a service fee and then never return. Unfortunately this isn't a business at all, just a fraudulent scam artist who takes advantage of the AHS service fee.

The plumbing in our entire house became stopped up -- unflushable toilets and gunk coming out of the drain of our bathtubs.

We called American Home Shield and placed a work order. We were assigned this company and after 24 hours, had no response. Tried calling this company and like many have reviewed before me, no answer and no return of voicemail.

Finally AHS was able to get in touch with them and they came over after 24 hours of toilets not working. This company only succeeded in ruining our brand new toilet by scratching the hell out of it with his tool. He gave up and said he couldn't fix the problem and left without even telling us he was leaving.

I'm glad a few have gotten lucky with Lewis Plumbing, but our experience was pretty poor. The company is impossible to get in touch with, ineffective in fixing our plumbing problem, and instead just did damage to our toilet.

Shame on AHS for not doing a better job of checking into reviews before dispatching these contractors into our homes.

To be honest, they didn't even show up, nor called...but were nice at the initial contact through AHS....but that was it....called after the agreed time 1-3 pm to AHS, Lewis claimed he was late and would call me soon, but after another 2 hours, nothing....thus I managed to cancel the appointment through AHS again.  Everything I read on the reviews about their non communications were ever so true...no explanations, no phone calls, texts, nothing...wasted my time, had to reschedule a doctor's appointment as well.....How can this company still be in business? Beats me....I really was going to give them a chance even though the reviews scared me and .my antenna should have gone up.
Please rethink this company! I really would have no idea how good they are, but they are certainly not reliable by any means.

Our water softener went out and it was covered by home warranty.  American Home Shield sent this vendor.  Replacement of the water softener took about 3 weeks, and they didn't haul away the old one.  Jody (an employee, not the owner) did a five-star job on the replacement, but I have to deduct a lot of stars for slow response and poor communication from Lewis Plumbing. Two full weeks went by and Lewis had not even told AHS that the water softener needed to be replaced. It was another week or more after that before the work was done.  I was told owner would pick up the old water softener on the following Monday after work.  No show / no call.  Days later, still no call or pickup of the old water softener.

They were contracted by American Home Shield, my home warranty company.  Jason was late for his first appointment and said he didn't have his phone so couldn't call us to let us know.  He rescheduled.  We were unable to get a hold of them from that point without calling AHS and having them prompt him.  After his first time at the house and telling us he couldn't complete the job without discussing it with AHS he said he would call us back, probably that evening.  To assess the situation he also cut a hole in my wall and left it. It's been 3 weeks and he won't return my calls or texts (probably 10 total) although he tells AHS he's working with me.  Jason is completely unreliable.  All reviews here are either 1 or 5.  I have to believe the 5s are marketing/friend reviews.

Canceled an hour before he was supposed to show up and repair water heater and he did so via text. Wouldn't even answer my calls. Took me 3 days to notify whole building of water shut off so this was a major inconvenience! Unprofessional, unreliable, horrible communication. This is insane! I'm also an AHS Customer who had all the same issues as everyone else. I don't look at Yelp when I go through my warranty. I've trusted that they pick good contractors. I've learned my lesson!

Requested service on my water closet (toilet) on September 9th 2014. BB Lewis Plumbing Company never called to schedule with me. That should have been my 1st clue! I called them last week Tuesday the 16th to schedule an appointment. I spoke with Jody and made an appointment for today Tuesday the 23rd between 9-11am. 11:05 rolls around, haven't seen or heard from anyone. I proceed to call the business number and Jody's number several times no answers. It's a work day for me too ya know :) Around 11:40am I get a call back.

Guy: Who did you have an appointment with?
Me: Jody
Guy: Well that's strange that he made an appointment with you today when he has the week off.....
Me: What?
Guy: Let's reschedule, I don't have anyone in your area today.
Me: Sir I would just like to cancel the service. I've been waiting for 2/ He cuts me off
Guy: Okay BYE!

No sorry no nothing. He did not want to hear what I had to say. He did not try to make things better at all.

I'm wondering if it is only AHS customers that have gotten terrible service? I've talked to AHS two times today. The first time to get a new contractor scheduled and I asked that they reconsider using this company. Oh, and by the way when I talked to the gal on the phone she said that the BB Lewis Guy already called to say that the service was canceled and that Jody had a family emergency this week that's why they didn't show up.  
The second time after I read all the Yelp reviews. I talked to a customer service rep and told her about the reviews on Yelp. She did not seem like she could do much about the situation. Maybe I should have asked to speak to her manager. Is there anything that can be done? I do not want anyone else to have to go through this company.

Worst experience ever... Dishonest as they come.  

My home warranty company sent them out to fix a leak. As the technician was leaving, he pointed to hi boss in their truck an said I can't let him hear me say this... If you have a problem with the repair in the next 30 days, he will try and make you (me) pay for it or he will find a way to cancel the service request.  Sure enough I had a problem... filed a service request on a Friday.. I received a confirmation text on my cell.  I checked the status on Sunday... I called my home warranty company on Monday and was told that Lewis cancelled the request stating that they repeatedly tried to contact me over the weekend and were not able to reach me.. YES I verified they had they had the right phone number.

I received a call quickly after opening a case with AHS.   Jason set up an appointment to check out my leak.  It got worse so I called AHS to expedite the call.  Jason showed up on time, checked the situation and gave me suggestions on how to fix it myself and save money.  The leak was not covered by AHS since it was outside the house, so we are going to try to dig it up and fix ourselves.  If we cannot, Jason said he would be happy to come do the plumbing part for us.  I was worried after all the prior comments, but it appears the company is trying to make up for some previous errors.  Jason was professional and punctual.   Thanks.

If I could give 5 NEGATIVE stars for these guys I would but the worst I can give is the one star.

In August, I made a claim with American Home Shield Warrantee company regarding two simple plumbing issues on a home I had just purchased.  BB Lewis Plumbing was assigned to provide the service.  BB Lewis was prompt about the initial visit to assess a broken disposal and two broken shower faucets.  However, it has been all but impossible to get the repairs done.  Several weeks went by while food continued to spoil in the disposal.  They refused to return my calls and never answered the phone.  I left close to 20 messages with them and finally, after escalating with the home warrantee company they replaced my disposal - about 6 weeks after they came out.  I should point out that this was a very standard disposal and simple installation which took all of about 25 minutes when they finally did it.  

Despite having evaluated the faucets on the first visit in September, and having received approval from the warrantee company to replace them they had to recheck the faucets on the trip to install the disposal because they had done absolutely nothing to order parts and didn't really remember the problem.  They then said that they might have trouble finding parts.  I called a local plumbing warehouse myself while they were there and within 5 minutes had confirmed that all the parts were in stock and could be picked up that day.  I gave this information to BB Lewis plumbing while they were still in my kitchen after installing the disposal.  All they had to do was pick up the parts and come back and install them.  Two weeks went by.  Several calls were made and messages left and again, no response.  It is now November - more than two months after BB Lewis came to the house to assess the issues.  I have called the Home Warrantee Company and after the requisite  45 hold time and escalation to management I am told that I either have to wait on BB Lewis to do the repairs or I have to take a cash out and do it myself.  

Awesome.  I've given BB Lewis every opportunity to resolve this situation.  But, I'm taking the cash out, because Hell is more likely to freeze over that BB Lewis is likely to return my calls.

STAY CLEAR OF THESE GUYS!!!  OR USE THEM AT YOUR OWN PERIL.  YOU'VE BEEN WARNED...

We too have AHS, on December 16, 2016 like so many others on here,  our hot water heater went out. We live in Georgetown and AHS gave us a Plumber out of Temple who said they could not touch our job for 3 days.  This was not acceptable to us so I called back to AHS, and they gave us a Plumber in Cedar Park that told us they couldn't get to us until after Christmas (still unacceptable).  At this point I was loosing my mind and insisted to a supervisor at AHS that they find someone close to Georgetown or I was going to drop my warranty after over 10 yrs. This is when then gave me BB Lewis.  

Within an hour we got a call from BB Lewis and was put on their schedule that very day.  Jason came out and the job turned out to be much bigger then expected because the Hot Walter heater was a commercial grade unit and the code these days will no longer allow those in residential houses.

We were forced to get the largest residential tank available with an additional holding tank on top of it to handle our home. Jason and team located a tank the next day ordered it from Dallas, two days later we had this monster of the tank installed.  We are very pleased with BB Lewis and will be using them again for another job within near future.  

We had zero issue with BB Lewis who did an excellent efficient job for us and the other two plumbers that AHS first assigned to us were the unprofessional ones which I will never use.

Moral of the story is never believe everything you read, After reading all the reviews I believe that AHS is the majority of the problem and in the 10 years I've been a client of theirs, the last two years their service fee has gone up, but their quality of customer service has diminished greatly. In my opinion they are one of the worst  warranty companies out there due to their lack of care for their clients and unwillingness to work with to find competent and local contractors that will do a speedy and efficient job. It sounds to me that maybe they don't pay their contractors quick enough and this could be why it's hard for them to maintain contractors.

Wow - wish I had read the reviews here prior.  All of them are saying the same thing and this review is going to say the same again.  Here's the process in order:

1 - Plumbing issues
2 - Call AHS (American Home Shield)
3 - They assign BB Lewis Plumbing
4 - The next couple of months will involve BB Lewis not showing up on time, canceling appointments, saying they need parts and will call back when they have the parts but never call back
5 - You will call AHS multiple times (over the 2 month period) and they will call BB Lewis with a number they have for emergency and then advice you if they do not call back, we will hold them in breach of contract (means nothing by the way)
6 - 2-3 months later your issue will still not be fixed or fixed badly
7 - You will be very frustrated and will cancel your AHS contract

Pretty much the summary of all the reviews below and pretty much exactly what happened in our case.   I guess AHS is sleeping or does not know there is a review site called Yelp on the internet.

Like many of the other unfortunate people leaving reviews here, BB Lewis was sent to the house by American Home Shield. I actually called AHS before they came out and asked to switch to someone else after reading reviews but they said they couldn't do that unless they didn't show up. I was crossing my fingers that we'd have a different experience than most of the other people here but that was unfortunately not the case.

The worker that came into the house was nice and knowledgeable. That said, the boss man is some guy that just sits out in a truck and orders him around. At least that's the impression that I got. In short, we had a leak behind the wall in our shower. They came out and the boss man sat in the truck while the other guy came in and cut a hole in our drywall to confirm leak location. Of note here is that no plastic or anything was put down on the floor to catch all of the debris from doing this. He did use are vacuum to clean up a little but we had to go in and clean ourselves afterward. After that they left... We asked when they would be returning to fix the issue and the worker said he didn't know that it was up to his boss. WHAT?! We have a big gaping hole in a room AND a leaky shower and that's it? Not even a I'm not sure at the moment but we will call you shortly to let you know once we've talked to the AHS. Of course we never heard from them again.

We tried calling them multiple times throughout the day after that and got hung up on each time. Tried calling American Home Shield too and were placed on hold 3 times only to have the call drop. American Home Shield has clearly been handed complaints about these guys numerous times and they continue to use them so they're just as much to blame here.

BB Lewis is a total scam. I'm under the impression (based on my experience and what most of these other reviews state) that they take as many of these warranty jobs as they can get, show up and collect the fee and then never come back. Don't fall for this garbage.

We ended up paying out of pocket to have a reputable company with great customer service come out same day to fix the problem so that we have peace of mind that it is 1. fixed and 2. fixed correctly. This is not a knock on the guy that came in our house, again, he was super nice and seemed knowledgeable. But as a company I have no faith or trust in BB Lewis at this point.

My water heater started leaking all over my garage. I called AHS and a few hours later Jason with Lewis called me back. He set an appointment for the next day. Came when he said he would. Two days later he brought me a brand new water heater. Installed in a few minutes. I was thrilled to have hot water again and leak gone. Thanks Jason! You are wonderful!

Where to even begin.... Bought a house about a month ago. Had this company out to fix a small issue (bath faucet running when shower was on, simple piece that needed to be replaced); they were sent via my home warranty company. They come out, fix the piece that directs the water to shower/bath, and in doing so, screw up the knobs for the shower. So we call the warranty company and they recall the job and tell us the company is going to come back out. Two days of unreturned calls, then I finally get this call...

BB Lewis: Can I speak to Mrs. Holt? (not my name)
Me: Umm, there's no Mrs. Holt here. Are you with BB Lewis?
BB Lewis: I'm trying to see if this is her number, does she work there? I need to do a plumbing job.
Me: No, you are calling another customer. I've been waiting to get a call from you to come back and repair something you already worked on...
BB. Lewis: Oh uhhh let me check the number and...CLICK! DIAL TONE!
Me: (thinking) Did this mother #$*!! really just hang up on me?

YES HE DID! So then we can't get an answer again from them. I ultimately have to beg and plead with my warranty company to switch the service request to another company (who did a great job by the way). Done, hands washed of it. Moving on. Or so I thought.

So this Sunday rolls around and we discover wet carpet in the closet that shares a wall with the shower. And completely soaked and destroyed sheet rock. There's a leak. We start the whole gd process over again. Demand the reliable plumbing company come out. They have to cut the sheet rock and discover that the simple piece replacement BB Lewis handled actually stripped the fitting and has been leaking the entire time. Fanfreakingtastic.

So now, one simple repair (which should actually be something anyone could fix themselves, much less a professional plumber) has resulted in a torn out wall, the need for professional water removal, preventative mold treatment, new sheet rock, new paint, and one gigantic headache. Unless you're hoping for all of those things, I wouldn't call BB Lewis. And if you are, I suggest you get hammered, have a party, and go all rockstar in a hotel room on your house instead. It will be far more entertaining and won't require talking to the idiot that owns this place. Party on.

I really wish I could give zero stars. The amount of wasted time and sheer BS is simply too much to even convey in a Yelp review, but suffice to say this has been one of the WORST experiences. They do not return phone calls, they do not show up on time, they do not actually DO anything (they came to my house 3 times, each time just shining a flashlight around- and never so much as diagnosed the problem). Why AHS continues to waste their (and their customers') money on this company is beyond me. I have spent 6 weeks going round and round with BB Lewis and AHS without so much as a diagnosis of what is even wrong, all while the leak in my home is causing more and more damage. AHS sent this guy out and I'm thinking if this is the best they got AHS members are in a world of hurt. AHS sent B B Lewis out a couple years ago and as other reviews have stated it was a nightmare.  Took forever and quality was very much lacking.  I asked AHS to never send this guy to my house again.
Now to the present, they sent him again. Problem was garbage disposal stopped working, simple,right. When we talked he said he was bringing a new disposal with him.
He came, didn't bring disposal. When I asked him if he would be able to replace it that day he looked at me and asked what made me so entitled that I had to have my disposal replaced that day. I was just asking. He left saying he would tell AHS the disposal had to be replaced.
After several days I called AHS and they called him, he said he would call and schedule.  Never happened. It has been 3 weeks and I again called AHS for the 3rd time and they called him again.  Now says he can install in another week. Four weeks to replace a garbage disposal. YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING.

As another AHS customer, I was dispatched BB Lewis to my home for a slab leak that was diagnosed by another plumbing company.  It took me several calls to get someone to schedule an appointment and when it came time for them to show up they missed.  After a few more calls I did get someone who told me that their guys went to the wrong house.  I called AHS to have another company dispatched.  They did dispatch two other companies but each time the dispatch was cancelled and the job went back to BB Lewis.  Finally they came out, looked around, checked the water meter and then told me AHS would be in contact.  They asked for the service fee of $75 but I had already paid the first company so they zero'd out my invoice and left.  Received a call from AHS a few days later with an estimate from BB Lewis.

I didn't hear anything for almost 2 weeks when I received an invoice for the $75 service call fee due BB Lewis.  After another few days I asked for a cash out as I would not want them to step foot in my house to do any level of plumbing work.  I kind of feel like BB Lewis has figured out a way to get paid the diagnosis fee plus the service fee for jobs that they do not have to perform any work.  Sure looks like a scam to me.

My home warranty company (American Home Shield) has dispatched these guys a few times to fix things.  But this last time was the absolute worst.

My wife filed a claim with them about our water heater not working well.  The assigned BB Lewis.  I got a call back the next day asking me what was wrong.  I explained that it was the same water heater they had worked on before and it didn't seem to be heating consistently.  The guy told me he'd call me back.

The next day, he called back and said, we just need to replace the unit and asked me for the details (make, model, serial number of the WH.  I told him I was at work and didn't have access to that info.  He told me to call him back when I did.

The next day I called back, and it was a Saturday.  Left a message, and didn't hear back.  So on Monday, I called again and left a message.  No call back.  Tuesday, left a message, no call back.  Wednesday, left a message and finally a call back.  Said they ordered the unit and would call me back when ready to make an appointment to install.

The next Wednesday (a full week later), they call me back and left me a voicemail asking me to call them back to set up a time to install.  I call back an hour later, got voicemail, and left a message.  No call back.  Called two days later on Friday, left a message, no call back.  Weekend passes, I call again on Monday, twice, and left two messages.  No call back.  Wednesday, called again, left a message, no call back.  Finally on Thursday, I called American Home Shield.  They try to reach them, and can't get a hold of them either.  AHS tells me to try one more time on Friday and if no response, call them back.

On Friday, I called and left another message, with no return call.  By this time, it's just gotten completely ridiculous.  I mean it's been over two weeks since the initial call, and I still don't have a water heater that works right.  I called back AHS and asked again for a new vendor.  They tried to make me wait until their vendor relations team could talk with Lewis, but I insisted that we'd be patient enough and wanted another vendor.  AHS set us up with a new vendor who will be coming on Monday - hopefully that will work better.

But in the end, stay away from BB Lewis - nothing but lip service, unreturned phone calls, and delays.  And if you're an AHS customer and they try to assign you this plumber for a service call - DON'T DO IT - request another vendor.  You'll be much better off in the long run.

I was referred to this company through American Home Shield. We entered our claim on a Saturday and we heard from the company on Monday to schedule an appointment by that afternoon.  The technician arrived at the beginning of his promised 2 hour window, gave a quick diagnosis and we had the issue with our water heater fixed once the part arrived first thing Wednesday morning. I would use these guys again & appreciated the prompt service.

All of these negative reviews are EXACTLY what I have experienced. They never return calls or anything! He never came to my house even though he was supposed to. I have no idea how this company stays in business. It's ridiculous!!! Avoid at all costs.

WARNING - AVOID:  I echo almost verbatim what has happened to others with negative reviews.  I requested service through AMERICAN HOME SHIELD in September 2017 to fix a shower with handle that came off.  Jason with B.B. Lewis came out - nice, personable - and said he'd have to search for parts and call me back.  After multiple unanswered calls September and October to him to check status and then on my return from traveling in November, still no repaired shower.  I then called AHS and was told he diagnosed that it needed wall access before he could finish and that I was responsible to find a contractor and pay for it.  I told AHS I was never informed of that.  Jason at B.B. Lewis was contacted repeatedly by AHS and me in November with assurance he would call me and come out to complete job.  No call, no repair.  Then I had to get someone to fix it at my cost.  AHS would not credit the prepaid service fee since vendor did show up.  

Found out today (late January 2018) that Jason at B.B. LEWIS called in the diagnosis (requiring wall access to repair) in November after I started calling AHS and him to see what happened.  That was a totally false diagnosis/CYA (my repair was done and they DID NOT have to access through tile or wall).  TOTAL SCAM by B.B. Lewis/Jason - he still got paid by AHS.

The water heater at my house in round rock, tx broke and the tenant was suffering without hot water. I created a request through my home warranty company, American Home Shield. The request got assigned to B.B. Lewis plumbing. I was worried and wondering how long would it take to fix the water heater. That's when Jason reached out to me promptly and offered to visit my house the next day. He immediately requested authorization from AHS to place an order for a new water heater. Two days later Jason picked up the the water heater and installed it at my place. What impressed me was his timeliness in fixing the issue and the way he kept me on the loop by texting me throughout the process about the status. He was very warm and friendly. Not sure about the prior not so good reviews, but I had a wonderful experience with Jason. I would definitely use his services in future and recommend to anyone looking for a good plumber!

I was looking for a plumber on Yelp today, and to my surprise, saw the positive feedback on Lewis and I felt it is my duty to share our horrible past experience with them.

We used BB Lewis through our home warranty last year. The plumber(!) showed up(not on time at all), dismantled the master bedroom knobs and told me that he has to get the correct part and come back the next day to fix it. I had to take another half day from work, losing pay, but he never showed up. When I called, flat out lied to my face that he told me that he didn't say tomorrow and he didn't know when he could get around to it and if I needed to get it fixed right away, I should find someone else..  I called the home warranty company and changed the vendor to affordable plumbing and it got done right away.  Avoid BB Lewis Plumbing.

Billy came out within 24 hours of us notifying American Home Shield of a broken water line under our 100 year old house.  The repair was made quickly and the water was back on the day after the water line break.  Thanks you BB Lewis for your prompt and professional service.

AHS assigned my service request to B. B. Lewis Plumbing and I was concerned after reading so many negative reviews on Yelp, but I saw a few positives, too, and decided to take a chance.  I am sure glad I did! They were responsive, professional, punctual and friendly.  I will call them if I have a non-covered plumbing need in the future and would recommend them to friends.

First, let me say that all of these reviews really worried me. I called American Home Shield for some plumbing problems. The first company referred to me, I asked them to change because of their reviews. Then they assigned this company. Yes, again skeptical but decided to give them a chance. I received a call from Jason Lewis the next morning after my request. We set up the appt. for him to come to my house. He gave me a 2 hr. window and arrived within the first hour. Good. I showed him the leak under my kitchen sink, leak in the bathtub and 2 toilets that were leaking slowly. (It happens, stoppers wear out). He fixed the  sink, the toilets but needed a part for the bathtub. After a few days, I checked the kitchen sink and discovered there was still a small leak. I contacted Jason, left message and he returned my call the next day. He had the bathtub part and set up the 2 hr window appt. Again, he showed up within the first hour. Regarding the kitchen sink, there was another leak that he missed, because the first leak was so strong. He found the gasket broken, fixed that leak and repaired the bathtub with the new part. I have no complaints. I just find it very hard to understand how this company can have so many bad reviews and only a few good ones. Maybe people just complain more when things go wrong. Nobody is perfect. When looking through my records, I realize this company came out to my house a few years ago and I don't remember any problems. Jason was prompt, professional, friendly, clean and pleasant. Let me suggest that when you review a business, especially a bad review, please be careful and don't exaggerate, don't be mean and spiteful just to be mean and spiteful. Some people attack for no reason, looking for things to fail. Treat kindness with kindness. It's possible some of these reviews came from poor attitude toward the contractor, who knows? It isn't an excuse, but I never had any reason to complain about the service.

B. B. LEWIS PLUMBING SHOULD BE IN THE ALL TIME HALL OF FAME FOR SERVICE . . . BAD SERVICE, THAT IS . . . I'M NOT EVEN SURE THAT YOU CAN CALL IT SERVICE?  

The folks from B. B. Lewis Plumbing were polite, friendly, cheerful. That was as good as it gets.

FIRST INCIDENT - May 12, 2014 - Invoice #15552 - $75 service charge - Broken kitchen garbage disposal, broken kitchen sink faucet, sink coming loose from countertop. The plumber replaced the disposal with essentially the most inexpensive contractor version available on the market. He said AHS didn't cover doing anything about the sink. He said he didn't have the parts to replace the faucet and promised to return later to do so. He never returned or called and B. B. Lewis Plumbing did not respond to any of our repeated calls/voicemails.  

SECOND INCIDENT: September 24, 2014 - Invoice #15733 - $75 service charge - Backed up sewer line. The plumber, Jason, came and attempted to unstop the sewer line with a lightweight motor operated augur (after borrowing one of my tools to take the cap off the sewer line). He said that, since his auger didn't reach anything, the problem was on the water utility's side of the pipes. He did nothing else and left in a rush without even recapping the sewer lines. His parting advice? My dad always put salt in the toilets and drains to keep the tree roots away from the sewer lines. The water utility, Travis County WCID 17, came promptly, cleared the line with high pressure water, took images of inside of sewer lined that showed the problem to be roots in the line on my side of the line. L. L. Lewis Plumbing already made it clear that AHS would not cover any service to sewer lines outside my home, but I still needed to have the lines cleared and had already paid them a service charge to do nothing. Just like before, repeated calls/vmails to Jason and to B. B. Lewis plumbing were unanswered.  

ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, I GUESS WE'RE PRETTY LUCKY THAT THESE GUYS DIDN'T DO MORE THAN THEY DID?

This is a completely ridiculous and worthless company.  I had to use them thru American Home Shield.  I paid a $75 service fee and never received paperwork on what was done.  I have been calling for 3 MONTHS STRAIGHT and the person on the answering service sounds like she is either coming off on a 3 day booze bender or is at least 130 years old.  I wasted so much time and money on such a pitiful NON-company.  They suck.  Period.  And I rarely get upset and rarely leave a review such as this.  If I could give them NO stars I would cause they didn't do shixx for me.

I had a kitchen sink faucet issue and the plumber Jody was assigned to my AHS service call.  Given it was a late Saturday evening when my faucet decided to die on me... it was at first difficult to reach someone from b.b. Lewis. That part of my rating was not as good, but, things got rolling for the better after that.
Jody was very professional, he did a super job.  My faucet replacement was not covered under my AHS.  He gave me a great price and I love my new kitchen faucet :)

Our water heater died and like many other posters, AHS referred us to this company. We worked with Jody and his customer service was excellent. He contacted us quickly after the referral, arrived on time both trips to the house (first to diagnose the problem, second with the replacement heater) kept in touch about our order status, and did a great job replacing our water heater.

NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY
Absolutely the worst service I have ever received.

They never answer their phone. They miss appointments and do not notify you that they are not going to be there nor when they will return.

I have had a backed up kitchen sink since February. The guy came out one day in February, said he would be back after the weekend and then never returned. It is now April. My sink is not useable.

Stuck dealing wit AHS and trying to get these guys to come finish the work..

Tip: If you need to get a hold of them you actually have to sit there and just keep redialing their number, as voicemail appears to be worthless.

If it was possible to go lower than 1 star I would.  AMERICAN HOME SHIELD USERS - DO NOT ALLOW AHS TO SEND THESE GUYS TO YOUR PLACE.  I'm going so far to fix the damages they caused by not really fixing the issue in the first place that we're about to get into legal ramifications and complaints with the Better Business Bureau.

I also was assigned to them from AHS and we at first played phone tag and then he would not return my call.  They then closed my ticket with AHS as resolved and paid.  I never saw them.  When I called AHS back, they called BB Lewis while I was on the phone and they told the rep that they never received the work order.  Really??  So then they said they would be there on Friday (before the holiday) and I waited all day for them to show up...guess what?  No call and did not show up.  What a joke.  I would give them ZERO stars.  Called AHS today and they called them again (how they got them to answer, who knows) and they stated they called me on Friday and I didn't answer, what a joke.  I have caller ID and no one called.  How AHS still uses them, is frightening.

B.B. Lewis was referred to our plumbing job by American Home Shield (AHS) and arrived within the time frame that they indicated.  The boss stayed in the truck and we never met him.  The individual that came in was very kind and well meaning and replaced the garbage disposal in an attempt to stop the leak under the sink and ran a snake to eliminate the drain clog. He then ran the water and the leak seemed to stop but after they left the leak returned and the sewage line remained blocked when we attempted to drain water from the washing machine.  When we called AHS to tell them of the problem, we received a voicemail from B.B. Lewis Plumbing but were not impressed by their service.  We cannot get AHS to send a different plumbing company to do the job so we will call another plumbing company of our choice without contacting AHS so we do not have to depend on an AHS contractor.  Our mistake this time so shame on me but AHS was not very credible in the way that they responded to our request in this situation.

I'll make it short and simple.  Ditto to all the other bad reviews.  AHS assigned him a week ago, he called, asked for the model number, etc., and never called back.  We called and left messages but no return call.  After waking up for the 8th day with no hot water, I called and requested another contractor.  AHS should take him off their list.

I wish they had a rating for below one star To even think a rating of one star is the worst option gives way more credit to BB Lewis plumbing than warranted. Let me first start out by saying I have a warranty through American Home Shield, and BB(BB Lewis), informed them that my tub fixture was leaking out of the hot water side due to a PR valve needing to be installed on the outside of the house because pressure was a little high coming into the house causing the washer/seal to leak. After speaking with a few plumbers, I got the feeling that this diagnosis was off. Why would it only leak out of one area of the house if the pressure was high through out the whole house? I was under the assumption I had to have this valve installed to go further with my Home Shield claim to get this leak fixed, so I hired a different plumbing company to replace this valve and paid them $400. And here is where the fun begins...
I called home shield to have the service call set up to replace the washer or seal on the hot water side of the tub faucet since this is what was BB's diagnostic from the initial service call. Not only did it take 4 phone calls and 5 days later for BB to contact me about the service call, but it took me leaving a threatening message to call home shield about their incompetence in scheduling/calling me about this service. After this message, I was contacted within 30 mins. The appt was scheduled for Friday, so I took a half day off work so I could let them in the house. An hour before the appt, and a week and a half after the initial scheduling of this service, I get a call stating the part was not in stock, and had to be ordered for Monday. Seriously? You knew the part and service you would be performing way in advance, and you didn't have the part ordered already? Sounds like very poor management. Very disappointed, I agreed to take another half day off work on Monday so they could come back out. Surprisingly, they showed up almost 2hrs early on Monday, but what had been my gut feeling as well as the opinions of a few other licensed plumbers, this washer/seal they claimed was leaking due to the pr valve, was apparently misdiagnosed. The tub faucet was still leaking on the hot water side. Now it needs a valve replaced on the hot water side to be fixed. They told me the claim would be called into home shield and I waited until Friday without getting a response from anyone. I called BB and left a message...does anyone work here that answers phones by the way? Within a few hours I get a call from home shield stating the removal of the water heater is not covered under my warranty to replace this valve, and that I would need to pay $600 to BB to have this fixed. So not only was this misdiagnosed, I was going to have to pay money to BB because they were incompetent in their profession on discovering the correct problem from day 1. At this point, I am waiting for a call from the home shield resolution center, which I can't hold them accountable for other than the fact they have chosen this contractor to work with, and I get a call from BB asking if I wanted to continue with the repairs. I inform them of my disservice and wrongly diagnosed plumbing problem, and all they can tell me is you were f@$%ed over by your plumber for replacing that pr valve if they did not think that was the problem. Really? Home shield said I couldn't go further with my claim because that was BB's diagnostic!!!! Quick background, I run a very busy and very reputable automotive shop in Austin, and the plumber I hired I have known him and his cars/trucks for years and before the valve was replaced he told me he did not think that was the problem but I had them do the repairs because according to BB I had to have that done to continue with my claim. I also understand the diagnostic side when it comes to repairs/services. In no way would I ever attempt to charge or take advantage of any of my customers if I improperly misdiagnosed a car. Sorry for the long, wordy review, but BB Lewis just rubbed me the wrong way. I even gave them the opportunity to make this right, and was basically told nothing would be done for me. In closing, the repair needed to fix the leak is very simple, except for the fact my water heater is in the way. I will be going through a 3rd party plumber to upgrade and install a tankless water heater and will have them fix the leaky valve as well. If BB Lewis had taken any customer service initiative, then not only would they be doing this repair, but would be making money on my water heater upgrade as well. Steer clear of BB Lewis. If you have a home shield warranty, ask for a different plumbing contractor if they attempt to send BB Lewis out to your house.

This Plumber BB Lewis is completely unreliable.  He rarely returns phone calls, mixes up appointment dates/times and gets the details completely wrong.  He wasted several hours of mine on numerous days.  I kept giving him chances to prove he was a professional.  He failed to do so EVERY time.  Stay away!

AHS sent BB Lewis to look at my water heater. The plumber sat in his car while on the phone with his doctor while his assistant spoke to me. The assistant was not a plumber, did not know how to diagnose a problem, he apologized to me for the plumber's behavior and suggested that I call AHS back and get a different plumber. That's how much he trusted his boss.The plumber remained sitting in the car on the phone and then gave me a service bill. I did not pay it because I wanted to talk to AHS first since the plumber did not even look at my water heater, but the plumber called in a diagnosis and I was billed.  HORRIBLE COMPANY!
AHS didn't handle it very well either, so I don't use them anymore.

I had these guys out at my place back in 2009 for a home warranty repair and called earlier this summer for help with a toilet and I never got a return call. I was only slightly annoyed since I figured it out and the problem was solved. I tried again last week for another issue by calling the cell of the guy that was out here last and was promised a  return call. The call never came so I called again, left a message and still no call a day and a half later. The one experience I had with these guys was a good one and I really wanted to go with a company I had been with before. I ended up using another company that I was totally thrilled with but I am very disappointed in the lack of response from these guys. Good work is important to me but so is good service. All is well at my place and I hope that the issue I had was simply an isolated incident.

There is a common theme here. AHS warranty work 'assigned' us BB Lewis to replace a fridge valve that had been leaking for 5 days. Drywall, baseboards, and floor suffered water damage and needed to fan dry. For the initial water valve repair it took 2 calls from us and 2 calls from the warranty people to schedule and appointment.

Once that service was complete, the warranty service needs a report from BB Lewis to proceed with the wall/floor repairs. A week's worth of phone calls and still no response from BB Lewis or forwarding of the information to the warranty service.

Finally escalated to the AHS customer care department and they have been trying to contact BB Lewis as well.

This really is embarrassing service for both BB Lewis AND the warranty company who continue to use them.

At this point the repairs are still outstanding because we cannot seem to get a response, answer, or help from BB Lewis.

I would recommend finding any other plumber in the Austin area, and I apologize if they are 'assigned' to you for any warranty work. With this many negative and common complaints I am surprised the warranty service still uses them.

I have read the reviews on B B Lewis and I am surprised with what I have been reading.  I use American Home Shield and they first send me to a different plumbing business and I never got a call from them (a review on them to follow).  I called American Home Shield and requested a different place and they quickly directed me to B B Lewis Plumbing with work order number and phone number.  Within 30 min.  I received a call and they came out the next day to look at our water heater.  After determining that it needed to be replaced as it was the original WH from when our house was built in 1996.  Ordered the WH and then next day came back to install and take away the old one.  The Service man was courteous and professional.  I will request that they come back if I am in need of a plumber in the future.

BB Lewis came out over a month ago from American Home Shield to address sewage gas leaking under my sink, discolored hot water, and a leaky faucet. The man who arrived was very professional and pleasant and told me he would order parts and come back. Fast forward a month later and nobody at their company answers the phone or is able to return phone calls. I have called AHS 5 times, waited on hold for over 30 mins every time, and am hung up on when I am the next caller. I am now having to hire a plumber out of pocket, am out the $75 service charge even though they didn't do anything and I had to cancel my credit cards to stop payment to AHS since I couldn't even get someone from their company to answer the phone to cancel my contract. I feel like I've been scammed by both BB Lewis and AHS and will never do business with either again and plan to file a claim with the Better Business Bureau.

I am surprised by some of the other reviews.  My own experience was entirely positive.  They showed up faster than another plumber that was called on and emergency sewer stoppage.  They were fast and efficient and gave me an extra measure of service.  I would call them again.

I agree that the negative reviews for BB Lewis Plumbing seem way off base. This Fall, we had a very high end shower fixture from Europe that was leaking and needed repair. American Home Shield sent out two different firms, and neither had a clue how to get the parts. Jason at BB Lewis was my final try, and he was amazing. Great expertise, articulate, helpful--even gave me his cell number and invited him to call if anything needed adjustment. Not only was BB Lewis not a problem, they were fantastic.
To prove this was not an isolated instance, I asked for them this week when I had a water softener issue, then called AHS when my wife found paperwork reminding us we had bought a 12 year warranty at Home Depot. Jason called me within a half hour of the cancellation, asking if there was a problem and ensuring we did not need help. When I explained the warranty situation, rather than giving me a hard sell, he said he completely understood, and thought I had done the right thing.
Do not believe what you read here that is negative about BB Lewis--I suspect these are people seeking a repair thay they had already been told could not be done, or perhaps even a malcontented competitor.

Awful, took 8 visits to fix my faucet. I also have AHS and will never, ever let them in my house again. From reading the other reviews, I think they must be billing for every time they need to come back or get another part. They arrived the first time a day early and were never on time. The repair was shabby and I wish I'd looked at the review prior to allowing them inside my home.

Just don't do it!!!

They did a good job fixing my water heater. They returned calls in a timely manner, arrived on time and fixed the issue quickly. Jody was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all my questions.

Ugh, it makes me feel really bad to read these other terrible reviews....because they too have been screwed by B B Lewis plumbing sent via the home warranty company.  I won't go into the ugly details, but my experience with them echos what I read here:  shoddy work, unreliable, caused more problems than I actually started with.  Thanks to them, the gas was cut off to my house for 3.5 weeks during the coldest weather this winter (read: no heat, no cooking, no hot water) AND they screwed us over with the home warranty company when they found out I wouldn't let them do the work on our house.  Save yourself the pain and go with another plumber.

Holy Guacamole!  Everyone's review is identical.  And yet, here mine is as well.  Yep, same thing happened to me.  I filed a claim with my home warranty and they sent this comany out.  All I needed was a simple drain in my bathroom replaced and for whatever reason, the guy couldn't do it.  He said he had to order parts?!?!?!  Uhm, there's a Lowe's right there are on the corner of the street.  I may be no plumbing genius, but I would think you could just go to the Lowe's and pick up some simple parts, no?  He said he had to order parts and for me to call him.  Uhm, why should I call him?  Shouldn't he call me when he gets the parts???  So bizarre.  I am amazed that this company is in business at all, judging by all the complaints here on Yelp.  Perhaps I should try to open up my own plumbing business and survive by collecting service fees alone?  Seems to be a pretty lucrative idea.

So many of the reviews on here are my experience with B B Lewis Plumbing. Hired thru AHS. Called about an emergency water leak. Didn't hear from him until the following day. Billy, the owner, is flat out rude, a liar, and has quite a tone and attitude. He called me when convenient for him and when I finally got a hold of him he says he's been trying all morning when his first was well after 12. (red flag #1) his worker came (forgot his name but he was very nice and quite knowledgeable). He had to order part and I without any updates I call and speak to Billy. He tells me he went to one place don't have it and if not at next place he is just gonna order it. I told him that I have a water leak in the building I live in and can't just shut water so I told him it needs today. He then raised his voice, was completely rude, didn't let me finish a sentence. I told him I don't want to speak to him. I will deal directly with the man who came in my place. AHS doesn't care he's still on the list. I expect workers to be cordial, professional, efficient , but most of all non condescending and zero attitude. Billy is NONE of these. If you have AHS call them right now and put his name on the do not list. Save yourself the trouble. Look at all reviews. The same things are being said. I just wish I would have looked here to begin with then I could have saved myself a less stress and frustration!

I called American Home Shield on Tuesday...this company was suppose to contact me and set up time for a repair. I called and waited all day Wednesday and no one called. I called their office and the number AHS gave me...all you get is leave a message will get back to you. Today is Thursday and I just canceled the service call. Who needs a company that does not respond. SO much for them and  AHS.

i've utilized the honest, open reviews on yelp for years.  i've appreciated it immensely...i've specifically now logged on to create my first review of this absolutely HORRIBLE company.  as others, i was sent them through American Home Shield and all of the reviewers before me are correct! they are worthless, will not return phone calls...a total scam with AHS...I've lodged 2 formal complaints with AHS about him, somehow, they aren't connecting that this company is a total farce.  I've used other AHS contractors with great success --and I've let AHS know this contractor is a bad company to send.  When the guy finally did come out...I complained about his boss not contacting me and he said he's heard that a lot - no one gets responses. WTH? even the employees know this owner is the pits!  THUMBS WAY DOWN!!

Can I leave negative stars??  Wow.  When American Home Shield (AHS) told me they were sending these guys out to repair my plumbing issue and I saw these reviews, I thought to myself that there was no way it could be that bad.  Little did I know that the service was actually as bad or WORSE than everyone else has described.  They never return phone calls.  They have no sense of urgency.  The owner sits in his truck while is worker bees walk around the house doing nothing productive and cussing.  Then when they can't figure out the problem in 20 minutes, they tell you that they might be able to come back tomorrow to take another look.  All the while I can't live in my brand new home because the plumbing is backing up into all the bathrooms.  They also took 24 hours to report their preliminary findings to AHS about their first visit, leaving me powerless to do anything if I wanted to have the warranty cover the cost of the repairs.  I ultimately decided that my issue was too important to rely on these guys to repair.  I told them I didn't want them to come back to my house and found a plumber (Clarke Kent Plumbing) who was timely, responsive and most of all cared about finding a solution.

HACKS!!!   DON'T USE THEM!  Took JODY 1 week to get to my house after we called him out for a warranty issue. He had to leave for parts and would come back, took another week to come back with a small bag full of 2 wax rings and a fix a flange.  REALLY it took a week to get those parts in? I could have gone to Home Depot that day for the parts.  Then Fixed my toilets and leveled them off with DIMES AND PENNIES, yes DIMES AND PENNIES!!  needless to say my toilets are still leaking and this guy/company are HACKS!  DON'T USE THEM or allow your Warranty company to send them out!

Same story here, was assigned them by AHS and could not even get in touch with them to make a appointment. Came across these reviews while trying to get a different number for them and then called back AHS and demanded a different plumber and got one.

I also had this company sent out by my home warranty company 7 months ago. They replaced our water heater and we have had problems with it ever since.  Every time we call there is no answer. We have left several messages and never get a call back. I finally had to call the home warranty company and luckily they are sending a different company, however I will have to pay the service fee again!!

My water heater went out and was leaking at 5am and husband out of town.  Home Warranty assigned BB Lewis.  The same day, they had requested the information off the water heater, had me describe what happened, had ordered a replacement (same brand) and had it installed by noon the following day.  All for my customary service fee for the warranty company.  I can only speak to my experience and it was fantastic.

AHS home warranty uses them for service request.  I submitted a work order on thursday and they never called me.  I called them on friday and they said they lost the work order and would not be able to come out until monday between 4 and 6.  On monday they called and said they cant make it until tuesday between 4 and 6.  All the while I had water leaking from my upstairs bathroom into the downstairs ceiling.  Totally unacceptable.  Take your chances with them!

I also was sent BB Lewis through American Home Shield. I called AHS on a Friday, BB Lewis (License #12655) called the following Wednesday. I explained the problem was a slowage of the plumbing, and that the only way to truly rooter the slowage was by removing the toilet, since there is no ground level access. I also explained that I fully understood that the removal and replacement of the toilet was not covered under AHS, but that I would pay the additional fee. He wanted to come over right then because he was in the neighborhood, but I explained I was not home and asked if I could make an appointment for the next day. He said he would call me back later or the next morning. By noon the next day, he still had not called, so I called him and he said he'd come later in the afternoon. He showed up a few hours later. He never got out of his vehicle. EVER. His assistant, an unlicensed plumber, was the only one who spoke with me, and communicated via cellphone. I explained again what I wanted, but they chose not to rooter the way I said was needed. The assistant spent about an hour rooting from various other places to no avail. Finally the assistant poured HCl down the pipes, without telling me. Then the assistant said that he would have to access the line by removing the toilet (NO SHIT SHERLOCK!) to remove the clog and they left (it should also be noted that the assistant suggested I find a different plumber), saying they could come back sometime the next week since they would be in the neighborhood again. The intensity of the HCl gas was such that we had to leave the house. I have a 16 month old and felt it very unsafe as the fumes were so strong. Additionally, the clog was now worse! I called another plumbing company, but they refuse to rooter the line until the HCl was neutralized, which would be another 24 hours. Needless to say, I will never recommend BB Lewis. AHS did refund my service fee, and removed BB Lewis from the list of plumbers that can be contacted if I need any work done again.
