We set up the twice a year service for our a/c unit about a year after we bought our house. When they came for our first service/tune up, they discover a lot of issues going on like leaks in the coils and a bunch of microbial growth within the blower and coils. Our electric bill was way higher than our neighbors throughout the year as well.

We decided to do an upgrade and set it up for a Monday morning. Marcelo & James both set up the whole system from start to finish (930-to (5:30). Explained the features and all. They were both polite and knowledgeable on their skillset!

For the system itself, right off the bat, it's quieter and pushes so much more air out quicker and keeps the temp consistent. Looking forward to lower electric bill!

Thank you for yalls service!

Aramendia came out to do an inspection on a residential HVAC system, the tech diagnosed a few things that were bad and stated an entire system would be needed and quoted around $13k for a basic low end system. Obviously we had a second person go out there (this time not affiliated with Aramendia) and he found that it was just a blown capacitor, quick 5 minute change and we're back in business.  I will NEVER do business with Aramendia moving forward.

THIS IS DISHONEST, DECEITFUL AND APPARENTLY TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE.  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR NEEDS

My bathroom shower from upstairs leaked into the downstairs ceiling and into a light fixture.  I was scheduled for a 5-7 PM time slot. The men arrived about 15-20 minutes late after the window had lapsed.  I explained to them what was going on,   They wouldn't even look at the issue at all.  They said we have to start this tomorrow.  What?  Why did they come out then?

My experience was brief but good. I needed a clogged toilet fixed. I called just before 5pm on a Friday and the girl who answered was polite and helpful. She put me on the schedule for the next day, Saturday, and said I'd get a call when they were on the way, likely in the morning.

I received a call today with 45 minutes notice. Two plumbers arrived on time, both masked, and provided me with two quotes, a simple auger (snake) fix of $195 and the second, if they had to pull the toilet for $595. Luckily, it was the simple fix and the problem was solved in no time and they treated the toilet with an acid to help it flush better. The price quoted was the price charged.

Again, a rather simple and quick interaction but a positive one.

My a/c stopped cooling and is under warranty with Aramendia. Called them and tech came out just after 1. After about 3.5 hours and changing the capacitor and some fuses, he called for back up. Another tech came and after about an hour they claimed it was fixed. $822 because nothing was under warranty and they left. House wasn't cooling. Gave it some time then called number. Office closed but called after hours number 5 times without an answer. Left a voicemail. No response. Called the plumbing emergency number; voicemail not set up and no answer. Plumbing calls back, I share the frustration. A/C Tech calls an hour later to tell me he won't make it but I'm the first call. Aramendia didn't respond until the next day at 5:45pm. Max Care had already come out to fix it by then. Beware!!

I had a small clog in my kitchen that was causing my laundry to back up. They wouldn't give me an estimate over the phone. Instead they waited until I was desperate and then told me when they got there how much it would be. It turned out that I had them clean the drain. They charged me more than double the price of the other companies. I would advise to get other quotes for services.

Aramendia will rip you off!
Our AC quit working. Aramendia installed the unit 8 years ago and treated us very well back then. It is evident that ownership of this company has changed.
We have a small leak in the evaporator coil on our heat pump. They quoted $4500 to replace. We found out that is is covered u see warranty and the technician quoted us $3800 to replace the coils and Freon. They were going to order the coil and let us know when it comes in.
David G emailed us options if we wanted to replace our whole heat pump instead of just replacing the coils. He quoted us $22089 for a new 3 ton system comparable to what we currently have.
A week later we called to ask for an update and found out they had not ordered the coil and had to come back out to get information off the system again before they could order the coil. 10 days later we call again and they just got the coil in and could install it the next day.
I called a different company and was quoted $875 to replace the coil under warranty and $3000 without warranty. If I wanted to replace the whole system it would be $9000 with tax and installed.
We called and spoke with a manager and someone who supposedly is over that manager and neither of them seem to care about earning business or explaining the price difference. Their only excuse is that companies charge different prices and if u wanted to cancel just let them know. So I am taking my business elsewhere and recommend you do the same!

Our toilet flooded from the bottom of the toilet and we called them. First the technicians showed up much later than they said. Then the technicians came in chew their gum like a cow chews a cud and the guy acted as if we were completely dumb and he was rude. The technicians ran some water and created the leak again. The technician also said the drain was clogged so they would have to charge 800 bucks for the first hour to remove the toilet, run a diagnostic and see if they can unclog it; and said if it takes more than an hour it would be an additional 800 bucks per hour.  He also said we can't assume anything other than it's a clog and how dare we assume that it's only a clog. When we said we'd like to evaluate and call them back they said we're leaving and left without even a thank you or cleaning up the mess they made. We  were going to also use them to look at the hvac unit but with the rudeness and lack of any customer service skills or interpersonal skills I would never use them for anything. Save your money and hire someone else who will treat you respectfully.

I've called Aramendia plumbing several times for emergent plumbing service. They are not the cheapest but I believe the quality of work and service to be better than other plumbers I've used. When you have a water
Emergency- it is stressful and you need a fast response. Aramendia has been able to effectively dispatch and repair my issues within 6 hours of call the last 3 times I've called them. I will continue to call them first when an emergency arises. Also, all of their plumbers they have sent out are courteous and professional.

Woke up this morning to no hot water and a stream of water flowing from our water heater out in the garage. Called Aramedia at 7:30 a.m., and by 9:30 a.m. they had a truck at our house. Our technician Marcos identified a broken flange within the tank and recommended a replacement, which they conveniently carried right on the truck.  They carefully explained my options and the pricing for each. Four hours later I have a new, slightly larger and more energy efficient water heater.

Service was incredibly fast and the technicians were very courteous. Could I have gone elsewhere for cheaper? Maybe. The icing on the cake is that Marcos also took a look at my water softener within the same cabinet and noticed it was set to regenerate way too often. We've had some briny water issues, and he identified the cause as water pressure at street level that was higher than what SA code allows; the softener was being bypassed into the house due to valve pressure issues. Without charging us anything extra he replaced the street water intake valve, replaced some valves on the softener, and also placed a water alarm in the cabinet (also free) to identify future water leaks.

I've never experienced such amazing and courteous service from a plumber/AC service before. If we need more repairs in the future I know who I'm calling.

Worst warranty service ever. Our AC has been broken for 2 weeks with no solution. We've had multiple techs out here multiple times and even a manager. We paid for Freon, we've waited for new parts, and still nothing. At this point they should just be replacing the unit, but nope. Even worse the manager had a bad attitude, showed up without a tech which would have been fine except he didn't have any equipment (not even a ladder), and to top it all off he was a perv. My elderly father with Alzheimer's lives with us and it's been over 100 degrees for multiple days. We thought about using the company for some mini splits and gas lines on a home renovation project, but will never use them again. If you can't fix an AC unit after 2 weeks no way I trust you to install safe gas lines.

A technician was sent just hours after I requested a service call. The positive review stops there. He found a leaking expansion tank on a hot water heater. He quoted a replacement  plus flushing the tank and installing some sort of device which he claimed would eliminate sediment - all for $1,900.  What scammers. I ended up paying $250 to another company for a service call, a replacement  tank, and flushing. That technician scoffed at the device to eliminate sediment. I'm done with Aramendia.

Had a hot water heater not working. Called Aramendia out for a free estimate with no trip charge as advertised on their website. The tech showed up took 5 minutes to tell us we needed a new hot water heater.  Wanted $2100 for a new hot water heater?  We said no he said it's a $195 quote fee.  What happened to free as advertised?  Said didn't apply to us.  Wouldn't leave without cash in hand.  Don't call them unless you want a $195 quote or a $2100 water heater.

The next plumber asked for a $65 trip/quote will charge.  Get a $429 hot water heater from home depot next door, with a 6-year warranty, and install in 3 hours at $65 an hour.

We called Aramendia Heating & Air as our pilot was not staying lit. We would be able to light it, it would stay on for a while then off. By the time Aramedia came, the pilot would only stay on if we maintained the lighting-pilot button pressed down.  Two technicians came to assess the situation, after being briefed, they indicated the whole piping system coming out of the water heater was not up to par and that was a great point to start trouble shooting. I was informed a quote with a list of repairs and upgrades to the pipes would be provided. They asked if the water heater -  18 months old - was installed by a licensed contractor. I indicated that it was, and everything was up to city code. As I question the reasonableness of how all the sudden pipes would prevent the pilot not to stay on, they pressed on the pipes and ducts as the likely culprit. I am no plumber, but I do have common sense.  More questioning got me nowhere, they left the home to proceed to prepare their quote outside. When I came out, they said well, I am not supposed to do this for free, but I will try to light your pilot. Apparently, they hadn't even tried to light the pilot. Getting into the attic with them, and watching him trying to do so, the technician acknowledged that it was probably the Gas Valve Regulator that needed replacement. Armed with this obvious knowledge, the technician gave me a quote for $695.00, not to replace the pipes and ducts (few!) but to replace the regulator. And by the way, he made a point to say the part may be hard to get and would not commit to an estimate. First, $695.00 is a rip off for an hour and a half or so of labor this job takes, second, I wonder how much they would have charged for a $150 or so part, third, if I had not questioned their stupid pipes and ducts diagnosis, would I be stuck with thousands of dollars in pipes and ducts upgrades plus additional $695 labor to install the regulator, plus who know how much for the regulator which was obviously what was wrong in the first place?? I end up calling a licensed plumber, indicated the gas regulator had failed, 3 hours later, he came, installed the part, and charged $360.00 all in. Stay away from Aramendia Heating & Air

I have to share that Aramendia Plumbing in San Antonio, TX is an awesome company.  Over the past dozen or more years, I've needed to use their services on several occasions & the jobs have all been completed to my complete satisfaction (not that anyone is ever thrilled when they need to have plumbing work done)!  Aramendia is a company that puts 110% effort into making sure their customers are totally satisfied & for this reason, I fully recommend them when you need a plumber.  I've not used their other services but no doubt, they put the same outstanding efforts into those.

I recommend reading this fully before calling Aramedia! I called Aramendia because my air conditioning was freezing up, they sent a technician same day, great; keep in mind, I am a single woman in a nice home. Kenneth recommended unclogging my condensation pipe (which I regularly do, but ok Kenneth) Kenneth came down told me it was unneeded and charged me $155.00; he added if it's the coils the estimated cost will be  $1500 after an entire 20 minutes in my home. Long story short, I complained and they promptly sent a tech (Ruben) with a clean cut guy in a polo (Jean) who clearly doesn't climb into attics much; they told me they will make it right. HERE IS WHERE THE SCAM BEGINS AND ITS ALL ON VIDEO, after a full inspection Jean comes in and tells me my A/C system is a mess; a coil leak, foam insulation in the coils, outside compressor is going out because its too small for inside unit, etc. Jean shows me cell phone video (fake video) showing proof of the coils leaking with a device that beeps, pictures of the insulation, etc; Jean says repairs will be over $6500 and if I get it repaired he foresees a problem within two years. If I did not mention, I have this all on my inside camera! It quickly moved into a sales moment with estimates for a new unit, I will share pictures of the estimates in addition to the videos; 25k on the high end and 17k on the low end, with some package costing $311 a month plus tax for 10 years. I did not fall for this scam, because after the first tech left I figured out it was just a DIRTY FILTER!!! Air conditioning is working fine

Let me start out by saying if you are reading this review please move on and find another company to do business with.  Aramendia since they were sold they have changed so much and are in the business of fleecing the customer.  I had my maintenance check with them on Friday and they finally agreed to replace the compressor that has been going bad for the last 3 years.  It is still under warranty which includes parts and labor.  We were told that the freon would also have to be replaced and it is not covered under the warranty.  I was quoted $175.00 per pound.  They came yesterday to do the work and the technician that came this time said the freon would be $180.00 per pound so the price went up $5.00 from Friday.  The technicians must set the price since the technicians get paid by commission and not an hourly rate.   Needless to say I called the office and spoke with Rob who was suppose to be a boss.   He was not very helpful.  I told him I looked up what the cost of freon is and asked if they are charging me for labor and I was told they are charging me for disposing of the old freon I said it cost $500.00 to dispose of freon his reply was that it is very expensive to dispose of freon.  He tried to tell me I was looking at old rates.  I told him to give me credit that I was looking at 2022 rates and the rate was $50.00 to $80.00 that is a big difference from the $175.00 they are charging.   Well I got 1 pound free and 15% off I still ended up paying $1000.00 for the freon which is a total rip off.   I was stuck using Aramendia due to the warranty.

My 74 year old mother called for an A/C unit not keeping up with thermostat setting. After initial inspection, determined that she needed a new replacement unit and set up a payment plan for some term.  She trusted them that the unit needed replacement. After much coaxing by her son, called another company to check and get a second opinion, the drain was clogged causing the system to shut down. This turned out to be a drain cleaning, thermostat battery replacement and pressure check for around $70 vs a payment plan that would go for 117 months adding up to about $20,000.00 for 1 unit replacement. This is just not an ethical group trying over charge a lady who lives off of social security installments only.  Call if you like being over charged.

I apparently have a water leak from my main shut off at street and even though they told me at time of scheduling they could at least determine where leak was.  when plumber showed up he did very little but confirm i must have a leak but wanted to charge 150.00/hr to dig around on a guess where pipe meets slab connection.  They had no way of finding leak other than guess where line was.  come to find out the line was determined to be on side of house near where they guessed and i would have wasted time and money.  I hesitated calling them anyway from the way they treated my step son when he applied for job years ago, but from all the recommendations on Nextdoor i gave it a shot, never again.  They are the typical larger rip off plumbing companies!

Total Rip Off!!!  Paid $2000 for water heater and extended warranty. Water heater broke and they wanted to charge $1200+ for parts and labor withou further extending the warranty. Went to Home Depot and bought a new water heater for $600 and husband had it installed in a little over an hour.  Would never recommend this company. Commercial should spell r-I-p-o-f-f-I-a not Aramendia.

I have used Aramendia in the past at my current home and previous home. I had a small water leak on my side of the meter so I pumped the water out and found where the leak was. It was from the repair Aramendia did about 5 years ago. I know repairs don't last forever and since I knew where the leak was and all that needed to be done was reseal the connection. The techs that came out did just as I did and told me they can't find the leak and have to dig up my yard to find it. They wanted to charge me $795 for this. I realized this guy lied to me and I just took the estimate and let him leave. I had another city worker come by and he showed me exactly where the leak was which is the same place I described above.

The work Aramendia did for me in the past was excellent, but now I am not so sure about calling them anymore.

Our AC unit is having trouble keeping up with the Texas heat this year (climbing up to 75-76 when set at 71-72)
so we told our landlord. He put the call in and they came out two days later.
The guy seemed friendly enough, started to work right away. First looked at the inside unit and stated the coils were clogged. Then proceeded to check the outside unit and said there was a Freon leak. Went over a bunch of pricing, which felt like a sales pitch. I informed him to call my landlord and go over it. He stepped out, called and decided to refill the Freon
Came back in and said what work was done and he was finished and if there were any more problems to call back or call my landlord, I didn't really hear the last part)

Well it started off decent, it was set at 71 and the temp was at 71
Within 10 min of him leaving it climbed to 72 ( mind you I did not mess with anything else or touch the thermostat)
Then another 10 min and it's at 73
Within the next two hours it climbs all the way up to 80

Now the inside unit makes a loud hissing sound which it never did before and the outside unit also makes an extremely loud buzzing sound which it also never did before. I went around and checked all the vents and they weren't blowing nearly as cold as before or as strong.
I have no idea if this guy was just new or what.
Called my landlord and informed him and he seemed pretty upset because I'm sure he shelled out a good amount of money for this.
They are supposed to come back out tomorrow so we will see then.
But all in all it seems the technician made things worse
At least before it only got to 75 but now it got all the way up to 81.
Not too happy at all.

Dishonest plumber.
I had a water leak that I needed to get taken care of, pouring water out down the street from a busted underground pipe. I called up Aramendia, because I'd heard their advertisements on the radio and they have a catchy jingle. They show up promptly, and make out an estimate for first finding the leak that I thought was quite unreasonable. They wanted hundreds of dollars an hour to dig around. I sent them home, got out the shovel and started digging to figure out where the water was coming from. A connection had gone bad about a foot underground, and was leaking. Once the leak was found, I called Aramendia back out to make the repair.
They wrote out an estimate for soldering a new connection, which I felt was high priced, but necessary. The plumbers cut out the bad coupling, and attempted to solder in a new one. I watched intently, as the plumber explains that he's really good at soldering, since he used to be a welder. He spends more attention on bragging than soldering. The plumbers then turned on the water, and it still leaked. Although it's tough telling quite where the water was coming from, he looked with a mirror, and determined that it was still leaking, which is bad news. The plumbers then told me that they'd have to chip away at rock and cement to get to the part that's leaking, and the cost has now nearly doubled from the original quote. I asked them if they were sure it was leaking from elsewhere, and not that they did a poor job of soldering the replacement coupling. Blank stare. I was without water, with a giant hole in the ground, and was being cornered. I had no choice but to acquiesce to their shakedown. They proceeded to cut out the pipe connection that they had just soldered in, and tossed it aside. I picked up the newly soldered and cut out connection, and plugged up one end of the pipe with my finger, and blew into the pipe. Air leaked from their freshly soldered connection, showing exactly where the problem in their repair was. If air can leak from their soldered connection, water sure can. They didn't solder the pipe right, and it cost me an extra $300 to have them chip away at rock needlessly and repair it a second time, this time with solderless plastic connections that are inferior to the copper one they were replacing. I showed them their incomplete soldering job on their pipe repair, and got a shrug and an outrageous bill.
I absolutely feel like I got ripped off, and was treated unfairly. I don't feel that it's my responsibility to pay twice the originally stated amount due to the plumber's incompetence.  I'm never contacting Aramendia again, and suggest you don't either.

Finally this issue has been resolved.  Phil contacted us and was very apologetic of the issues we were having with Aramendia.  He said that he would get to the bottom of it and make some phone calls to find out why this kept occurring and find out why we would never receive any courtesy phone calls about services being canceled?  It didn't take long for him to call us back and set up an appointment with us, for today!  So we got a phone call that tech was on his way.  Joe Gomez, the technician that arrived was unbelievable!!! He went above and beyond with performing maintenance on our A/C unit!!! We could not be happier with his service.  If we could, we would schedule follow up service just with Joe, he was that amazing.  I am thankful that we gave Aramendia another chance!!!

I've had them come to give me a diagnosis and estimate on my AC twice in the past year and every time they say I need to buy a new unit. $10k-$13k. Then I get a second opinion and they tell me that who ever came out disconnected all the wires and made a mess of the connection board.  Ultimately the 2nd company is able to replace a few parts and fix the AC.
The bottom line is, Armandia is untrustworthy. I think they're liars just trying to sell ACs and not do repair work.

Installed a Navian tankless water heater in 2014 and are very professional and knowledgeable. From start to finish have made me a happy homeowner. They came out again for routine maintenance and again I received outstanding service, this time from Marcos and his apprentice. They overnighted a part so I could get my hot running water as fast as possible. This company shows old fashioned business values and ethics and even though they initially missed noting my updated phone number which caused delays trying to reach me, Derrick fixed the problem and cemented my trust and confidence in this company.  I do not mind paying the necessary cost when I know I am getting high quality and value, which is how I feel about this company. They had a truck dispatched within hours of a missed appointment. If you are looking to find a plumbing company you can trust, look no further!

We used Aramendia to service our old outside gas tankless hot water heater and they kept it going longer than we had a right to expect. Installed the new one a year ago and they serviced it today. I will totally use them for major things (e.g., most plumbers won't work with this kind of hot water heater) and they are VERY reliable and professional. I wouldn't use them for minor things as they are on the expensive side. This is who you call when you need serious work.

My in-laws just had them come and take care of a messed up hot water heater. We witnessed the guys working smart and effectively. They are knowledgeable and made sure my family was safe. The fixed errors and got the job done right. They know their ship. Lol.
The price was steep but a lot of work had to be done. If you've had plumbers  come out you know good ones aren't cheap.
You get what you pay for with these peeps and it's the best. They offer warranties on their products and their services.
My mother-in-law said, I want it done one time and I want it done right. Theses guys did it. And they're available 24hrs a day.
If you have a home it's be good to make Aramendia the plumbers you keep in mind.

Got a quote for a leaky toilet for $500.00 dollars, if he had to remove the toilet to put a wax ring, will cost me $600 dollars. I'm sorry but this is ridiculous, found a local plumber and only paid $60.00 to get the wax ring replaced. Sorry but will never call you again.

I thought I needed freon in my heat pump. They told me the condenser was shot and I needed to spend about $7K on a new one. They left me with an estimate with a 10 year warranty. So I called my AHS Home warranty Co (they don't pay for freon so it's cheaper to use someone else). AHS sent out American AC and Heating and they found that ants had gotten into the electrical contacts of my external unit. They cleaned the ants out and my AC was working in 15 minutes, and I didn't need freon. Yes I do have an old AC and I know I'll need a new one soon. But I REALLY resent being told I need to spend $6,599.00 when I don't really need to. There's value in a second opinion.

the men (Art, Louis and Dan) installed a new system and new duct work.  They  did and excellent job   They were knowledgeable, professional and hard working.  We were having problems with our old unit (purchased from Aramendia),  They sent a team out who had reviewed the history and inspected the old system   Aramendia stood behind their product and helped us to remedy the problem in a fair and honestly better than we could of hoped for.  Cannot ask more from a company to stand by their product and to employee excellent peopld.

My A/C stopped working so I called to have it checked out.  It was working perfectly fine even during the 100 degree days we were having.  The first thing I noticed is that a salesman arrived with the technician.  But maybe that was standard for them.  The technician only asked where the units were located and nothing else.  After about fifteen minutes the salesman tells me basically everything was bad.  The compressor, fan motor, capacitor, evaporator coil leak, and low on refrigerant.  He stated that because the system used the old R22 freon the cost would not warrant fixing it and that I should just replace the system.

Hmm.  Let me see.  One day the system is fine and the next most everything is bad.  What are the odds.

Second Opinion Time.

I called in another company and they stated that the capacitor is bad.  The fan motor was using more electricity than it should but still worked.  The compressor had overheated but he used the hose to cool it down in 5 minutes and it started working.  This company did everything in front of me and showed me all the readings.  Aramendia showed me nothing.  I got some system replacement quotes (lower tan Aramendia's) from him and he left without repairing anything.

The next day I bought a capacitor for $70 and replaced it in 10 minutes.  I overly stressed the system the rest of the 100+ degree day and my daughter asked for a blanket.  It has been running perfectly fine for 4 days now for a system that needed to be replaced.

I had used Aramendia before but it looks like Aramendia has become a system replacement company and not a system repair company.

Had them perform annual maintenance and warranty work. Annual maintenance was adequate but didn't seem like either tech did a lot. When I had a major issue, each time I asked the tech he said 4,000 to start. Never said let me see and validated prices. Just gave me blanket prices. Decided to use them because of warranty company and AC was already out and work was sub par. They talked me into changing set up and electric bill went from 250 to 400. Not a fan. Go with someone else.

Over a year ago, I was TALKED OUT of paying for the water heater that day and going with the Advantage Program where I make payments toward the heater and they will service it every year until it is paid off...nowhere in the conversation did it say it was a lease and my payments would not be going toward the water heater.  I had a few things going on at the time:  I had lost my dad a few weeks before and I was recovering from a bad cold.  No one has ever serviced the water heater and when I called to pay the remaining balance, I was expecting 14 months of $20.95 ($293.30) to be removed from the balance.  It isn't.  I now have a balance MORE THAN my water heater was priced because of termination fees to the lease program.  I called Aramendia to explain what had happened and the manager (Albert) who was less than helpful and told me that there was absolutely nothing he could do and he doesn't know what I was saying was accurate because he wasn't there.  All I wanted to do was pay off the water heater and have them do what was right, but I can't.  DO NOT TRUST this company.  The customers mean nothing to them.

They rip you off!!!

They came out to my house and wasted my time. I had a clogged line between my clean out and the city sewage line. They told me that they would snake it for $285 and would not guarantee that it worked. I offered to pay them by the hour after they diagnosed the exact problem and would guarantee their work. They got aggressive in tone and said it is not a negotiation and that I called them. So, I told them to leave.

Another plumber just snaked the line, it took him 5 minutes, and he is charging me $75.00. Which makes more sense being that he traveled 5 miles, total time spent including travel was 20 minutes.

Aramendia Plumbing has an awsome guy, Chris Metzer!
He has not kept us waiting for text, call, or service! Same day service, in fact!
He was able to figure out our water heater problem very quickly,  and fixed it in a timely manner.
Price was reasonable, and we will be calling them again, in the future!
We live in Floresville and had hot water, by the end of the day.....thats Service!! Thanks again Chris Metzer!

The taps in my shower were leaking, so I called Aramendia after reading the positive reviews here. Their techs showed up 15 minutes late even though I was supposed to be the 'first call of the day.'  Not a good start.  They explained that they could replace the stems with a one-year warranty or replace the damaged parts for a much less expensive cost, but no warranty.  I should have stopped and called someone else at that point, because why wouldn't they stand behind their work? Instead, I thought 'these guys know what they're doing so the repair should last.'

Less than a month later, the leak is back, and I'm out a few hundred dollars on top of the cost of having someone competent fix what they couldn't.  My advice is to call someone else or be prepared to pony up a lot of money for the more expensive warranty service.

The sad joke is that their first goal is to offer the best warranties in the industry.  I guess the joke's on me.

My AC went out on a Friday and because my parts were still under warranty through Aramendia I called them to come out and see what the problem was. They came out on Saturday only to tell me that my fan motor needed to be replaced, but they needed to order it, but couldn't do so until Monday. I was hit with a $59 trip charge for that. How does a large reputable company not have these parts on hand! They finally came out on Monday about 7pm and replaced the fan which took less than 30 minutes and they charged me $290 for labor!  I asked four times to have a manager call me to discuss, they NEVER called me back. I was told Phil and Junior had been advised about me wanting a return call, but neither took the time to call me back. What a rip off! I will never use them again!

My family is visiting and we experienced air conditioning issues in the middle of the night. Kenneth and team were timely in dispatching, solving the problem, and going above and beyond for me. I can't thank you all enough. You all are always professional and advocates for the customer. I highly recommend their service because I never had an issue getting service on weekends or weekdays. Other companies are only available during the week, don't return voicemails, or hang up on the middle of the night emergency calls. This is why I am loyal to this team.

We had our AC units serviced this winter, for a cheap price.  We thought it was a good deal.  They found nothing wrong with the units, but did some minor maintenance.  A few months later, one of the AC units went out.  Turns out that Cowboys AC has a terrible reputation, so I decided to call Aramendia.  It is Sunday, but there were able to come out within 2 hours.  An hour later, they had fixed the problems and even did some REAL maintenance for me.  All for $135, on a Sunday!
They may not be the cheapest around, but they have always delivered top quality results.  You get what you pay for, and with these guys, you get a bit more too.
Highly recommend them, especially in an emergency situation.

Called them out to recharge my AC. Understood the recharge would be costly because of the change in law. Dispatch told me it would be $200 for the first recharge and 153$ for subsequent ones. Knew that was pretty universal, so I said yes. Technicians came out, immediately told me they didn't have any R22 to recharge it and they wouldn't be able to get any. According to them, my only options are upgrade my system or don't have it blow cold.
The technicians were not the problem. David and Rick are working with limited options themselves and a public who does not want to hear that their system can't be recharged. I am not one of those people.
We got a quote from David that was tailored to our overall situation.
The biggest issue I have is the fact that their van proudly proclaims Free Estimates
Since it took about two seconds to tell me my system could not be recharged and the majority of their time was spent giving me an estimate, why was I then charged a $59 service charge?
I believe it has to do with those on charge of the company not having faith in their people to make on the spot decisions.
An additional issue that I believe is going on is a lack of communication between the service/dispatch agents and the technicians. There is no reason the dispatcher would be under the impression that they were capable of providing a service otherwise.

Aramendia said they wouldn't charge to provide a quote.  However, when they arrived, the technician said it would cost $195 to diagnose.  What!?  The technician then took less than 90 seconds before saying the whole unit needed to be replaced.  No thank you.

BEWARE!!! Our AC went out on Friday night. We called Aramendia because they have  'free' quote/estimate advertised and our regular AC Contractor couldn't make it until Monday. We called Saturday and had a technician come by on Sunday. He was a polite and friendly guy and got to do his thing immediately. A few minutes passed and he came back saying he found compressor run winding open (which he wrote on the estimate) and then also said the capacitor was out and the compressor was 'done'. He proceeded to give me the sales pitch at this time-

a. Replace the condenser and TXV valve since its an older R-22 system- $4.6K.
b. 14 SEER complete system for $7.2K
c. 16 SEER complete system for almost 9K

If I was made out of money I certainly would replace the entire system, but I have a budget I need to stick with and the air handler inside was replaced about 3 years ago. Monday our AC guy goes and takes a look at it and had it working in 5 minutes. There was one of the wires on the run capacitor (which Aramendia told me was not working) that was corroded causing a fault. Got it fixed for a total of 130 bucks.

$4617 to $8868 was Aramendias proposed fix when I got it fixed for $130. Get a second opinion and maybe go and check on Angie's list or a similar site that reviews contractors. Saved me a crap load of cash right before Christmas!

Oh my goodness, honestly to write out this debacle of events of trying to have the AC fixed would be far too long for this venue.  After 10 days the problem still is not fully resolved, 2 trips by technician, 2 trips by a carpenter, and countless phone calls by me and my landlord to the office and the only consistent answer we get is I don't know and we'll call you back (which they don't and we have to call again the next day).  I could go on but honestly it will just make me madder.

This company is replacement services only. We just got ripped by technician. Unit was working just fine the day before and I called in that we were receiving a error code on our nest stating no power. Technician comes in and states that coil may have leak and just to replace because cost would be around 3500 and that come 2020, they wouldn't be able to service units that use Freon. We would be better off getting a new unit. Then states that we would have to replace both units because they wouldn't be compatible if one is non Freon and the other is. Both ac units are separate lines. One unit is for upstairs and one unit for downstairs. He also failed to say that companies would be able to fill Freon units with recycled Freon and/or our current unit could be retrofitted.  Then proceeds to have us qualify for the advantage program and tries to sells us 2 AC units at 24,000. What a ripoff! I looked up the unit he was quoting and the price is doubled through Armendia. Ended up filling our units with 8lbs of freon. Unit started working but he said he didn't know for how long. So pissed right now!

Called to schedule a rotor rooter of a drain pipe.  Tech said I had some handles that needed to be replaced.  I said I didn't call about the handles, I called to get a pipe rootered.  He said he hadn't even looked at the pipe yet.  He wanted to replace the handles for way to much money.  I had to pry to get a price out of him for the rooter.  It was to much.  Sent him on his way.  The bad thing is it probably wasn't the tech's fault.  He was probably trained to do what he did.  Oh Well

Contacted Aramendia after the plumbing company that was used to install the initial plumbing gave me a three day window. The staff from the receptionist to the plumbers was courteous and professional. The plumbers arrived as scheduled within 30 minutes of the notification phone call. Their actions were both professional and efficient. All processes, pricing and warranties were explained. Brandon and his assistant get a definite thumbs up.

While we have had great experiences in the past, we recently had an concern with the diagnoses and estimate provided for loss of hot water throughout our building. We were told our hot water heater was leaking and needed to be replaced with a new one, It was unrepairable. We were provided an estimate of $2400.00. Within an hour we had another company come out to diagnose the issue. The water heater had been unplugged. The plumber cleaned the water pan and were told the heater appeared to have no issues. The problem was fixed for a minimal amount and now have hot water.

It is recommended to always get a second opinion. This could have been an unnecessary costly repair.

Made an appointment with these professionals based upon their gold standard rating with the consumer business review.  What a joke, they must have paid for their entry.  They do what all the larger HVAC firms do....they overbook their schedule and then tell you they're running late and the tech will show up at 7 or 8 PM for a 1-3 PM appointment.  No thank you.
Stick with the local small business owner with only 2 or 3 employees.  I use Richard Pierce at Hill Country Air in Boerne.  Shows up when he says he will, doesn't try to sell you parts you don't need, gives you a straight honest assessment.

I see a lot of reviews on Yelp. I read these before hiring Aramendia,
I had a water pipe burst during the night, not sure when, but it was shooting 10 feet in the air.
It had been raining all day... I called 10 different places and they wouldn't come out today because of the rain. Armandia put me on the list for when the rain stopped.
Literally the minute the rain stopped I got a phone call that they were on the way. It was 5 minutes later and I had two people at my house to fix the issue.
I will say that I was shocked by the initial price. $445 for fixing it, but it came with a 1 year warranty and I didn't have to get muddy.
After fixing it they discounted the price $100 because it was easier to fix than they thought. So, 1 year warranty, I won't have to worry about it again, and, it was done on a day that nobody else would come out on.

Very much worth the money. they even insulated the pipes (they were not insulated initially).

Peter Smith was the guy that came out. Very helpful, friendly, great service.

Called them because I had 2 outdoor faucets that were leaking pretty badly and a toilet that was constantly running. They came out on a Saturday, same day I called.  I had heard their ads on a local radio station and they said their was no trip charge, so i decided to give them a try.

They arrived when they said they would. True there is no trip but here is how they GETCHA. I had three things that need repairing.  I was told the first one would be $295 and the other 2 would be $95 each.  Here is where I screwed up, I should have called another company to get a quote and I didn't.

So they don't have a trip fee but the first thing to repair is almost $300 which sounds like a hidden trip fee to me.  Later talking to a friend she told me she had Culpepper plumbing come to her house to fix 2 leaky outdoor faucets and a sink faucet that was leaking and they charged her $195.

Moral of the story Don't use Aramendia and shop around

I highly recommend Aramendia. David has the experience to understand your issues, troubleshoot and then propose the best solution for you. Rafael and Marcello were the installers for all of our jobs, and they did a great job. They are trustworthy, and they care about keeping your place as clean as possible while the work is being done. Aramendia first helped us by blowing in more attic insulation which reduced our electrical bill by about half. Then we had a freon leak on an old air handler. We have a duplex, so I asked them to move the good air handler from our side of the duplex over to the other side which will be used for AirBnB. Then we bought a new variable speed system for our side. If you need a complete system, variable speed is the way to go. It's MUCH quieter, it uses less energy, AND is keeps the humidity lower. Now both sides of the duplex are working wonderfully. You can probably find someone cheaper, but if you want the best long term investment option, call these guys.

Buyer beware!!  It is a bait and switch with a high price tag and zero customer care.  If this site let me do zero stars, I would do that. I called Aramendia on September 29th when I found a leak in our toilet upstairs.  The toilet is only three years old, so I guessed it was the wax ring that somehow went bad.  They came out and replaced the ring.  This cost us way too much, $349.  About three hours later, I went upstairs and the leak was worse.  I called them back the next morning and they sent Armando out.  He then said that the seal from the tank to the bowl was leaking.  I think when they moved the toilet out, they caused this issue.  Anyway, the pressure was on to sell us a new toilet.  He said they would take off the $349 that we spent the day before making the regular height one $280 and the comfort height like we have $550. Of course, they had these on the truck. We paid $216 three years ago for the one we have.  We opted to have the one we have repaired.  Armando said it would cost about $175 to find the parts and around $50 for the parts.  I was pretty aggravated with that. My husband called on Monday and the person he talked to said they would waive that cost. Armando said they could come Monday the 2nd of October to fix it and I told him we would be out of town until Wednesday the 11th of October and I would be available in the afternoon.  I called on the 10th and did not get a return call, so on the 11th I called at 9:30, no return call from Eric, called again at 1:46 and still no return call, but the lady who answered said they were checking to see if Armando had the parts and would call me back.  No call back again,  at 4:30 I called again.  Eric had left for the day and she would not give me his cell number to discuss this with him.  I was angry at this point and told them to forget it.  I told them their customer care sucked and I didn't want them back in my home.
It was no surprise that Eric did not call me back on Thursday to see if he could mend the relationship.  He did call on Friday to let me know they had the parts and could come that day.  I had my husband call him back and he did not seem at all bothered by what transpired.
So, stuck with a toilet that did not function and was in parts upstairs, I went on line to find a plumber.  We found a guy who came out and fixed it and charged $100 to clean up their mess, put on the new parts plus a new wax ring.  By the way, I went on line and in 5 minutes or less found who sold parts for American Standard and within 15 minutes had the parts here and ready.  The parts cost $29 from Ferguson.
I would highly recommend anyone looking for a plumber to not call these people.  It felt like bait and switch. Triple the cost of the three other companies I called to rectify the mess they made.

Our AC went out over the weekend and they sent over David who did a great job but ran into some problems on our old unit. He was not able to complete the job due to a bad valve. He called management and they agreed to give us credit toward fixing the valve and we set up another date to come back. On the day scheduled some how there was a schedule mishap and we were told they would not be able to make it out the day scheduled. I called and spoke to Terry who tried their best to fix the situation. They sent David and Aldo who worked after hours and through the rain to fix our AC. They did a great job!! Absolutely horrible, I am so dissatisfied at their work and ethic. Go somewhere else if you don't want years of struggles and headache after them putting in a full unit. Got an electrician out to my mothers home and was told their fuse box was way to small for the size unit they put in and it could have easily caused a fire. The plumbers that came out were very nice and respectful.  Unfortunately, they quoted me $900 to fix the issues they found.  I called two other plumbing companies to quote the same job.  The first was $300 cheaper than Aramendia and the second found the issue and resolved it for $78.  I was completely shocked that a company with such a high rating would completely overcharge for work.  I'd recommend a second opinion when calling Aramendia.

I called to schedule an appointment because my AC went out over the weekend. My house was 90° inside and so miserably hot I couldn't sleep upstairs. They told me they would arrive between 3 and 5 PM. I took off work to be here to wait for them, and then they called me at 3:15 and say that they are overbooked with other people's emergencies, and won't be able to make it today. He wanted to squeeze me into the same timeslot for tomorrow, but I couldn't miss work again and he wasn't even sure that they would be able to get to me tomorrow. The guy acted like he was doing me a favor by offering to come out at all in the next couple of days. I asked why I wasn't contacted sooner, or told they didn't have time, and he just kept reiterating that they were busy with other jobs. Why was I scheduled then? I told him it sounded like he was too busy to get out to my house and called someone else.

These people are high. We have a 1 year contract for $155. We  just had our heat check done in October. We wanted it to be around the beginning of October. Sometimes you do get freak days where you have to use heat for a day in October. We were going to have it done around October 5.

The lady said she didn't recommend it and to wait until it was cooler. We set up for October 20. The person who came out was nearly 45 minutes late. He was supposed to he here around 9am, didn't show up until about quarter till 10. My mom called the office after about 15 minutes or so. Can understand if person was stuck in traffic, but shouldn't the company do that?

When the person got here, he asked my mom in a haughty voice did you call?! She said yes, I did. If it had gone farther, I would have stepped in and said to him that he was supposed to be here at 9am and now it is almost quarter till 10am and we want a discount for your tardiness.

First off, I'll admit, I don't shop around for the best prices anymore. I've been dealing with Aramendia for about 10 years now for both plumbing and HVAC. They always do a great job, are very professional and considerate, and make what I consider reasonable suggestions for improving the system. Yes, sometimes I can just get a small part replaced and hope the old equipment doesn't require me to call them again in a few months or a year, or a can replace the main component and not worry for years, thanks to a great warranty. If you want worry free service, these folks are the ones to call.

The broken pipe was completely exposed and required no digging.  Rather than putting a price together he started trying to sale a replacement in line pressure regulator. (nothing wrong with the existing one) Came up with a quote between 595.00 and 795.00 to fix something that was not broken. Had my wife tell him thanks but no thanks. I left work and went home, made a quick inspection, ran to the hardware store and spent $12.47 on materials. Had the repair complete in an hour. This was something I would have paid 300.00 to have done, but these people are blinded by greed. From glancing at these reviews, they have lost sight of how to build a customer base for life. My advice to anyone reading this is if you need a plumber call someone else.

So. The people on the phone were helpful. I will say that. The service technicians were a completely different story from the second I opened my door. They did NOT introduce themselves. Did not say one single word to me when I opened the door. I am a woman. Just stared at me with a sort of expression that said well why are we here.. didnt speak even after I said hello, let me show you where the piping is.. just followed me to the back. Looked at our  piping. Informed me that yea thats the incorrect piping. (In reference to our propane lines) You're going to need a whole new line and that is going to be expensive. Made a phone call to their boss.. heard the technician telling him yea we're over here across from Dominion. Its all rock we have to dig through. Its 80 feet from the house. Then wrote some stuff down and said its going to be about $9000 to do the job.. ha. So i asked what if we move the tank closer..? To which he replied no we cant do that. It has to be 80 feet away from the house.. which I found out was a LIE. Scammers. Tryin to get money out of us. So frustrating. I do NOT recommend this company. Very rude people.

Just had our winter check by Aramendia.  Kenny was our HVAC Technician who performed our system check so that we would have peace of mind going into the winter months and cold weather.  Kenny was professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable about our HVAC System.  Thanks Kenny for providing an outstanding job checking our system.  That's why Aramendia is called the Good Guys, because of professionals like Kenny.  Thanks again for being the top Plumbing, Heating, and Air company in the San Antonio metro area.

They showed up a little late to the appointment, but Chris and Caesar went way above and beyond to get the job done. They were here until after 11:00 finishing the job. I have used them to replace my entire AC and now to replace my water heater, and some other work as well. I would recommend them to anyone that needs work on AC or plumbing.

Aramendia has been our plumbing service for many years.  Yesterday we awoke to find our hot water heater had leaked overnight and we had no hot water.  As our water heater was over 10 years old, it needed to be replaced.  They did a very professional job with as little disruption as necessary.

I used to like these people, because they were fair when working with my elderly mother years ago. I even used them to install a new hot water heater last year.

I scheduled an appointment for a minor plumbing issue (not much $$ for them). They were supposed to come to my house between 3 and 5 (and call 30 minutes before arrival). Did not hear anything from them until 4:40 p.m., saying they were not able to get someone to my home yet.

Thank you for putting me at the back of the work list!! I waited all afternoon. I called back and told them not to bother and that I would never use them again.

This is just rude. And they acted like it was no big deal. Even called me back a little after 5:00 saying they had someone in my area now. They didn't offer me anything (such as a discount) to make up for their obvious disorganization.

Will NEVER call Aramendia for air conditioning repairs again.  Had Oscar come out to look at our air conditioner that was not working.  The outside part of the unit had been replaced in 2013 with top of the line equipment.  After looking at the broken unit and 2 of our other units the quote was $4900 to fix the unit that was broken with some of the parts still being under warranty.
It was also recommended that we replace one of our older units that was still working but probably wouldn't make it the rest of the summer for around $7100 and change the coolant in a third unit at a cost of $400-$500 dollars.  After looking at the suggested $12000 quote I decided to get a second opinion which i hardly ever do.  I just had a feeling I was being taken.  I called Rosenberg and they came out the next morning to give me their second opinion service. In about 15 minutes they fixed the broken unit for NO CHARGE! If your air conditioning isn't working skip aramendia's salesmen and call Rosenberg instead

They are a JOKE!  They advertise 24 hr. emergency plumbing. Saturday about 8:45 p.m. we called them because water was spreading all over our kitchen floor.  We got a recorded message that they were presently closed.  If we would leave a message, they would contact us Monday a.m.

WHAT A SCAM!

As domestic as I've become, things like hooking up our new energy star washer and dryer (which have been sitting unused in our utility room for the past 5 months) are now of paramount importance. In my efforts to budget (not a skill that coems naturally), I decided to call up several plumbers to get estimates of how much it would cost to get everything hooked up. Since we do have to do a tie in to a gas line to put the gas dryer exactly where we want it, I knew it might be a little pricey. One estimate came in at $350, another came in at between $450 and $550. For a final estimate, we called ARAMENDIA PLUMBING COMPANY. After a 30 second perusal of the situation, and a dismissal view towards my complete ignorance of all things plumbing, the man gave me an estimate of ALMOST $3000!!!!

Cannot comment on the quality of their work, but the price alone seems, oh, I don't know, kind of unconscionable?!

I asked them to come out and give our system a seasonal checkup. Their service technician Chris did a very thorough job, checked everything, cleaned this and inspected that and gave me a detailed report of his findings. He was honest, efficient, courteous and I am very pleased with my service call today.  I'll call them again for sure.

Finding a leak spilling out of your home's foundation is never a pleasant thing- especially when it occurs after midnight on Saturday.

After trying our usual plumber who doesn't work on the weekends, we took their recommendation to call Aramendia.

Within 3 hours, we had two techs with a truck full of parts and tools.  They were friendly and courteous and gave us estimates before the work.  They quoted an hourly price to find the leak and a flat price to fix it.

I know that some of the other reviewers groused about the prices, but even at their higher rate, they were knowledgable and saved time.  They used a camera to peek into our wall to find the leak's source.  Within two hours, the leak had been found and fixed.

We had asked around to our friends to gage beforehand how much this work would cost.  The consensus was between $800 and $1200, especially since it was a Sunday.  Aramendia does not charge a premium for weekend work- good to know.  Our bill was just under $500, which I think is reasonable.

If you are in a bind, these guys are great!

I will not do business with Aramendia again. Dishonesty in the interest of selling stuff can doom a good company. I strongly suggest that when dealing with Aramendia, customers should get a second opinion from a reputable plumbing/AC company. The technician was friendly and efficient enough. But his bottom line was that I should consider buying a complete new AC unit. He said the coils were leaking, and the TXV valve was not working. Since the TXV valve is attached to the coils, the entire coils would need to be replaced because welding is not possible. That's about $2000!! He said this would perhaps add another two years to my usage of the AC unit so I might want to consider a new AC unit. After all, the AC unit is almost 8 yrs old.

I called another company for a second opinion. Excellent technician and very thorough. He could not find any leakage, replaced the TXV valve in no time, tested the system several times, verified his test numbers and things are fine so far.  Total cost: $600. Adios Aramendia!!!

Awesome company! We had a major leak in the wall on a Sunday afternoon. My husband discovered water in our workshop and garage and it was running out the garage door, down the driveway. Called our usual plumber and they were closed, they suggested we call Aramendia. The woman who answered the phone was very polite and accommodating. She said they would send someone out. I was afraid it was going to be hours with no water. Within 45 minutes they called and said they were on the way. Chris and Bradlee arrived a few minutes later. They were both professional, knowledgable and very nice, Fixed the leak and we were back in business. I can't thank them enough for coming out so quickly and taking such good care of us. I would highly recommend them.

Plumber came and immediately started trying to sell me a water softener. He then wanted me to sign up for their savings club in which you pay them monthly to get a tiny 15% savings if you have a problem. Next he wanted $900 to fix 3 dripping faucets! Needless to say I showed him the door. I contacted another plumber and bought 3 new faucets for him to install. The three faucets and installation only cost $500. If you value your money  find a better company than these tip off artists!

I called Aramendia Plumbing for an estimate on replacing three lavatory faucets and a shower valve cartridge. I already have all the faucets and other parts except the replacement shutoff valves. They wouldn't give me a price over the phone but offered a free estimate and no trip charge.  When they arrived, I was shown a book where the prices for various plumbing jobs were listed.  They wanted $ 295.00 per faucet.  I told them that if they had given me that price over the phone, I could have save them a trip.  We didn't even discuss the shower valve cartridge once I was told the cost of the faucets. I have no doubt all in all it would have been over $1,000 for about a 1-2 hour job tops. I later contacted a plumber I used previously and he will do it all for $350.00.  I think I'll go with what's behind door number 2.

Two stars because there was an attempt. I called nice lady at their office to schedule appointment (free estimate); super easy and very friendly service. Guy shows up, I tell him a/c unit is turning on but outside fan isn't kicking on. Sounds easy because the inside unit works perfect, it's just the outside unit that might need a part to get the fan going. Guy says there's not enough power going to unit and recommends I replace breaker because breaker is bad. By this time he has changed out two fuses on the inside unit which was working fine. Okay, thanks but unit still doesn't turn on outside. Guy suggests I pay him $300 for his work. I say no because I never authorized repairs, only want free quote. No such thing as free quote, it's $89 for them to look at it. Okay, well lady told me free. Free is free, right? By this time unit doesn't work, so he wants $300 for his 15min of work. No way. I fix it myself, outside main powerline needed readjustment. Didn't need breaker. Didn't need fuses. Inside unit won't work. Now the entire unit isn't working. I test the fuses he replaced. He stole my good fuses and gave me a bad one. I go to lowes and spend less than $25 on everything. A/c works great now. Don't hire these guys unless you know exactly what's wrong and they tell you upfront the cost. If you don't do that you will end up paying ten times as much and your stuff will probably be broken/stolen.

The two plumbers arrived, one name Jason and I didn't get other guy's name,  and I explained leak in shower pipe. I was given an estimate of $175 to search for leak. When handed the invoice to sign it was for $224 and when I questioned additional price was told it included an annual maintenance fee. I said no to annual fee.  The search included re-cutting existing hole in wall.  Pipe was visible and had broken, needed new weld.  They did weld.  In and out in one hour - $590 for one small weld.  I guess I should feel lucky they gave me a 10% discount on weld because I'm a senior, and at the last minute decided to cut search fee to half price.  Still my total bill for one hour's work was $590.85.  I really felt like it was a fancy slight of hand and that I had been had.  Nothing really illegal I guess, but if I hadn't been paying attention I would have wound up paying for an year's maintenance plan I didn't need, and as it was I did feel $590 was a pretty price little weld.  I won't be using them ever again.

We've tried to deal with this company more than once. They come with an outrageously high first price and then when you say no they go out to the truck, call the supervisor and come back with a new price. It's like dealing with a car salesman. This is not what I want from a plumber. I want it fixed and I want a fair price and I don't want to have to waste my time negotiating with guys who talk to me like I've got more money than good sense.

A few days after my previous 3-star review appeared on Yelp and Angie's List, I got a very nice phone call from Al Joe at Aramendia. Called with a totally clogged kitchen drain.  Was told it would be about 90 minutes and we'd get a call 30 minutes before arrival.  After 90 minutes heard nothing.  So we called.  Then told there were no guarantees that a tech would be available before end of day and they could schedule for tomorrow.  We've been hanging around the house waiting and no proactive calls on their part.  Then to hear that?  Normally they are highly rated but given this experience, we're looking for a different plumber since they can't seem to make commitments that are real.

DO NOT use Aramendia unless you are independently wealthy. I called for an emergency shower valve repair on a Sat morning with all water shut off to my house. I gave their phone operator the common brand, model, and part # I needed (about $25 online).  When the crew arrived, they said they didn't even carry that part. Then they offered to replace the entire valve with a different brand for almost $1000. When I said, No, they said they could cap it off, which I agreed to so I could turn the water back on.  So, they cut the valve's 4 lines, removed it, and soldered a cap on the 2 supply lines. The entire job took approx. 45 minutes, and they charged me $512.00 - AFTER the 10% senior discount. That's more than it costs for round trip air fare from San Antonio, TX to Portsmouth, NH and back.

Thought I might save a few buck's! by letting them install my A/C  & Ducting... probably better to us a A/C Company for A/C & a Plumber for Plumbing! in this case call a self employed plumber who cares and does a good job for a better price! Ducting installation is a MESS! & had to recall them back multiple times to seal  around the vents... $14,000 later I called another Company $8,500 same unit with Ducting & done properly the first time!!! After stepping through the celling & they did multiple times, but they did send someone to repair the damages... I was told that they would seal everything, but I was able to see through the vents and into the attic from inside the room! we called them five to seven deferent times to return and fix the problem... still we're not satisfied. we also had problems with the dispatchers not getting the technicians here on time and calling us for delays. the Aramendia commercial is false by owner...he doesn't care about his customers!!! he cares about the customers money!!! we hade two faucets replaced for under $800.00 I used to work at Standard Alliance Parts... I should have did it myself!! I feel that I don't need an apology which never came to our ears,  because I rather have some of our money back for all the lies and inconveniences we endured during our tragic losses... we on the other hand do care about our hard earned money as well, but we actually don't lie, cheat & steal to earn our paycheck!  just when you think you've made the right choice....you should reconsider! save your hard earned money for you retirement, because Aramendia Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning does!!!!!!!! that is.. they have your money for their retirement witch should've been for your retirement!!!  A NEW TREND IS HERE!  Wake up America! Yesterday, only 3 hours before my father's funeral and 200 people arriving at my house, I had a problem with the drain in my kitchen sink.  Aramendia sent two really nice guys, who quietly and respectfully helped solve the problem.  They were in and out as quickly as they could, and I wrote them a check and said thanks.  This morning, they called to say they were tearing up the check because it was something that should have been under warranty.  Way to go Aramendia!  Thanks for your thoughtfulness and your integrity!

Yes was dumb and purchase HWA on last new home.  Time one, I told their plumber the problem, he said no another problem, so they sent someone else, they said it was different.  I finally said call Aremendia who I have used many times.  They came, found, and conquered!  The money I spent on home warranty co-pays would have paid my last bill, which was out of pocket anyway!  Second time, HWA messy leak in floor, intermittent.  Plumber said septic, septic said plumbing, back and forth.  Time for Aremendia.  I asked them to video the pipes.  They did no clogs.  So yes it was the septic.  Finally I could get someone out who could fix it.

Horribly expensive! So much so, I'm still stewing over it for a job they did more than two years ago. Now, in fairness, I did accept their quote prior to work beginning on replacing a water shut-off valve in my front yard. But then I watched a young man digging for an hour or so in very muddy conditions (we had had a leak at the shut -off) while an older fellow assembled about $25 worth of plastic parts while leaning casually against the truck. The whole task took about 2 to 2 1/2 hours at a cost of more than $400. Shame on them for way-overpriced work; shame on me for accepting the quote without checking elsewhere. Moral of the story: Don't expect a deal from a company that loves to run a lot of stupid TV commercials.

Poor Customer Service- Rip off

We were originally very pleased with the amount of time it took for Aramendia to arrive at our house after our air conditioner stopped working in the August 100 degree heat. A technician was at our house for a total of about 20 minutes, charged us $212 dollars, and gave us very little information about what had happened. We were not too upset at this point because the air was working when he left. When we returned home however, the air was not working again, so we called Aramendia to come back. They did not answer, return our call, or have the 24 hour service like they boast. We weathered another sleepless night with no AC. When we called them again in the morning, a technician was sent back by early afternoon only to tell us something completely different than the technician the day before.

I called to speak to a manager about how disappointed we were before we gave them any more of our money, and the manager never returned my call even through I spoke to a women who said he had stepped away from his desk for just a moment and would be right back. To top it off, the next air conditioning company we called let us know that the part that was replaced the day before for $212 only cost about $3, so we paid $209 for 20 minutes of work. Seems like rip off to me.

New Years weekend , Friday we had plumbing emergency. I called these guys and they came out a few hours later, gave me a price that I thought was high but it was too late to call anyone else so I said ok. After 10 minutes of work and $ 595 they were gone and problem returned in about 5 minutes problem wasn't fixed. I called back and another guy came out Saturday morning worked an hour or so charged another $695 and stepped through my ceiling. Problem was back in a few hours. Finally discovered rats were chewing peck pipes in attic. Caught rats called them back since they had not fixed ceiling as promised. Came out worked 1 hour and 18 minutes and charged another $850. I told them I would pay when ceiling was fixed. The next week I called office that if they didn't get my ceiling fixed I would be using the money owed them to hire some else. Finally got issue resolved. Total cost $2140. Parts were minimal. I figure labor cost for actual time worked was about $750 per hour. These guys slogan is that are The Good Guys well in my opinion this not at all true. Would not ever call these guys for anything again.

The air conditioning unit at my mother's house in San Antonio was acting up, so we decided to call Aramendia to come take a look at it.  The guy they sent over was unbelievably rude and not helpful in the slightest.  When we asked if there was anything he could do for us, he told us the current unit was a goner and he insisted our only option was to install a new one for $7,000.00.  Seriously?!  We ended up calling a friend's husband who is certified in air conditioner repair to come out.  He cleaned the unit and added freon to the tune of $100.00 and it's working better than ever.

I guess I know now what kind of business model Aramendia Plumbing Co. employs.  They should be ashamed.

I recently used Aramendia for the first time for an urgent plumbing issue.  They responded about 7:00 PM and within 30 minutes of my call.

They quickly provided an estimate for the repair, which consisted of some behind the wall work, and said they could do it then.  Although I felt the price was a little high, I authorized the work as the leaking water line needed to be repaired immediately.

They did agree to do another minor plumbing job (saving me from doing it that weekend), and did so at a reasonable cost since they were already here.  That helped to offset the price of the original job for which they were contacted.

I will probably use them again, but will negotiate the price if the situation is not urgent.  Carlos was prompt, professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable.  I will say they did excellent work, and I will recommend them to anyone else who needs plumbing work.

After paying a hole in the wall company about $3,000 to fix nothing, we were very hesitant choosing a company to fix our AC. We had several companies come out and look at everything, but we felt significantly more comfortable with Aramendia.
We ended up having to replace our entire unit for our two-story house. We were a little worried that something that drastic might not be necessary, especially for the amount that it cost us. It has been about a year now, and we couldn't possibly be more happy with this company! The customer service in the office is wonderful. The service guys are great and really know what they are doing. We had a room that we were told (even by Aramendia) would never cool off like the rest of the house; but since our new system, the temperature has regulated PERFECTLY! That is just a bonus that we didn't expect! Aramendia has absolutely exceeded our expectations! If you are getting more than one quote, PLEASE take my word and know that the cheapest is NOT going to be the best. Aramendia was worth every penny!

We are having a lot of work done to the yard. Last week the fencing company cut into the main water line, we called out a plumber to come fix it. They arrived quickly, assessed and repaired the line within an hour. The total bill came out to $120.00. A week later the landscapers cut the line (different area) so we called the plumbers out again. This time they were unable to do same day service. We called Aramendia Plumbing and they showed up fast. We showed them the pipe that needed repair and they said it would be $795.00... That is ridiculous!!! The parts to fix the leak cost about $5.00 at Home Depot; I know because I checked. They didn't have to dig because it was already done. So, I'm trying to figure out why they feel the need to charge $795.00 in labor and material, when the last plumber charged only $120.00 for a similar fix. It makes me worry about people who are on fixed incomes getting swindled by a company like this. Maybe Aramendia Plumbing should spend less on advertising and charge reasonable fees instead of ripping off the customers!

I bought an A/C system from these jokers in 2012 (paid approx. $6000).  I called them last month and asked them to come out to find out why the temperature wouldn't stay where it was set.  Their tech came out and told us that the outside unit had some dog hair on it and was causing the system to work overtime.  He charged us $215.00 for some sort of special solution to clean the outside unit.   He then told us the inside unit was leaking and we would need a new evaporator coil (a $1258.00 cost).  LUCKILY, we didn't schedule the repair and decided to get a second opinion.  The Beyer Boys came out and, after we gave them the same symptoms, FOUND NO LEAK AND NO NEED TO REPLACE THE EVAPORATOR COIL.   They arrived at that conclusion after I dropped all pretenses and told them what Aramendia had allegedly found.   They did, however, charge us to clean the outside unit again.  Aramendia had already charged us to allegedly clean the outside unit two days earlier.  In addition, Aramendia left our attic unit uncovered and didn't even bother to reattach the panel that closes up the attic unit.  WE WILL NEVER, EVER, EVER USE ARAMENDIA AGAIN AS THEY OBVIOUSLY ATTEMPTED TO RIP US OFF.  The moral to this story is to always get a second opinion.  I feel better now.

Thanks for the three posted reviews!  Guess they have to charge high prices to pay for those goofy TV ads!  Who wants a couple kids to come out and mess things up worse than they already are.

I agree with the previous post.   I had a minor leak under our sink the I fixed but over the course of a week we still had a couple of drips.  I was at a loss on what could really be causing the problem since I had replaced the washer and added plumbers tape (turns out the p pipe needed to be replaced).  I called Aramendia thinking all plumbers were basically the same.  Don't make that mistake.  They were very honest and told me the estimate ahead of time.  It would be $150 in labor and $30 for the part.  Because I needed it'd one and was in a hurry,I didn't put much thought to the labor cost until 45 minutes later.  Aramendia's standard labor cost is $150 PER HOUR.  I called them to verify.  Then I called around and found that 5 other plumbers charge a standard of $75 to $95 an hour.  Were they honest up front?  Yes, but I think it's something that other customers can learn from our mistakes.  Go elsewhere and save your money.

I called this company at about 7:45am this morning and they did not show up until almost 11:00am.  They said my the leak I called them about was coming form the kitchen faucet, said they were going to step outside and get me an estimate to change.  They came back inside and gave me an estimate gor almost $500.00 for a kitchen faucet because they only use Moen faucets.  I told them that was way to high and they said they would going outside and get me an estimate.  Thinking they were going to price something cheaper and change the faucet for me ( I am handicapped) I waited.  When they guy cam back in her handed me an estimate for the almost $500.00 quoted and told me if I change my mind to give them a call and left.  Faucet still leaks, and now I not only lost a half a days pay from having to take off work and wait for them, I have to try to change the faucet out myself.  Poor customer service to say the least.  Very disappointed.
