Do NOT use Al's plumbing.  They are dishonest and rude.  We had a minor plumbing  emergency and called the first plumber we saw in the phone book- it was Al's.  They said they'd be here at a certain time, showed up 20 min early and I wasn't home (I was 3 minutes away) and they were rude and said we aren't going to wait long, we have appointments.  Um, you were earlier than you said you were going to be!!  They came in, spent a few minutes diagnosing the problem and then gave me two options- one was $500 and the other was $700!!  For a minor repair on my faucet- their labor was $400 (parts brought the bill to $500/$700).  When I asked why it was so expensive, they said it was because it was such a complicated faucet (I have a Moen so parts are free for me to replace, but they were going to charge me $100).  The two techs spoke in whispers so I probably wouldn't hear the racket they were about to pull on me.  And then they made their proposals- my mouth dropped to the floor at the outrageous price!  They even pulled out their official looking pricing sheet- a total joke.  They saw we lived in nice neighborhood and were totally taking advantage- in my opinion.  I asked them to just put my faucet back together and we'd get another opinion. So, they put it back together wrong and still charged me their 39.00 service fee- which I feel disgusted about even paying after my next plumber diagnosed the problem (which I could fix for free with Moen parts on my own) and wouldn't even let me pay him the service fee b/c he didn't actually repair anything.  DO NOT USE THEM- they are dishonest and obviously incompetent at fixing a common faucet leak.  Ridiculous.

I had called my Home Warranty company for a leak in my sheet rock and a plumber came and after tests said I had a leaking shower pan liner that needs to be replaced and as usual it was not covered under Warranty. I had got a couple of quotes from other plumbing companies and called up Als to see if they can give me a quote. On the phone said they can give the quote only after testing it for which they said they will charge 39$. I thought 39$ is a good deal for doing the test one more time. They came home, inspected and said that it will cost $250 for doing the test. And the 39$ fee was a service fee to visit. I really felt cheated and will never use this company again.

This place is an absolute joke.  Another reviewer touched on their policy of the $39 trip charge so I won't get into that.  I will share that I received a quote that was probably the biggest price gouge I have ever heard of.  Unfortunately for them, I have experience with all of the repairs that were to be done... I just didn't currently have the time to do them.  Anyways, the quote was for $2,076.00.  This was to fix a leaking shower, a running toilet and adjust water level on another toilet.  Well, the shower is a new valve stem that costs $45.  The running toilet needed a new ball and flapper... the kit is about $40 at Home Depot.  The water level on the other toilet was just adjusting the height of the ball!  Less than $100 in parts, less than 1 hour in labor... $2,076.  Let that sink in if you are even considering these crooks.

We, at Medieval Times Corporate Office, never realized how much we needed the faucet in the breakroom of our office until it sprung a leak and we couldn't use it for 3 days while waiting for building maintnenance to tell us that we needed to get an outside contractor to come fix it. We called Al's and they came the very same morning and were extremely patient when building management was being difficult. Through all the hoops the building made them jump through, they were still very pleasant and got the faucet and pipes replaced quickly. Thanks Al's for doing a great job! ~

Do Not call Al's!  Don't get scammed by these people with low trip fee.  When they got out to my home I told him what the problem was and he looked up in his clipboard and was going to charge me $457 to clear my main septic line which is only 75 feet to the street.  I ended up paying $275 with no warranty and no camera to detect what was blocking the line and with $50 printed coupon.  I would have called someone else but they showed up after hours and couldn't wait until next day.  Others company's quoted me around $185.  I should have read the reviews here first before calling.

Worst customer service experience in my life. I called a professional because I was over my head with bathroom remodel. Asked them to add 2 shut offs to existing lines, replace the toilet shutoff and to match the new shutoffs to a new water supply line I purchased (which turned out to be the wrong size) and they said ok. Quoted over $500 and when I questioned it he said that's what it's gonna cost. I agreed because I could not do the work and wanted it done right. The plumber Derek was abrupt and interrupted me repeatedly. He completed the work and then I noticed he had replace two additional shutoffs. in addition, the shutoff size on the 2 new ones did not match my supply line. I did not find this out until 3 days later after I had installed the supply line and discovered it would not conn ext to the shut off. I requested a return service to correct the situation and when Derek showed up he belittled me for not knowing I had purchased the wrong size supply line and told me to go to the store and get the right size. I asked him why he didn't point that out in the beginning and rather than answer my question he  aggressively accused me of trying to make him lose his license. What? I tried to ask the question again only to be cut off and interrupted repeatedly until he finally stated I'm getting the f--- out of here and left.
I whole heartedly discourage everyone from using this company with their pitiful customer service.
The only positive is the shutoffs are installed and do not leak. This company will do well to understand that consumers expect more than just fixing the problem.
Two thumbs down!

2 days ago I smelled a gas leak coming from my kitchen range.  I called Al's plumbing they we super friendly and professional.  the girl promised to have someone to my home in an hour.  the 2 guys we super helpful fixed my problem and the price was reasonable.  The next day I noted the draw under my range was off track (the plumbers had to remove this to get to my gas line) the draw is very heavy and I could t re-line it myself...i called customer service and let them know. they had their plumbers return the same day and fix it.
I highly recommend this company and will use them again!

Had jammed garbage disposal from date seeds. I had removed the majority of them, but still had some stuck. They came out, turned on the disposal, the date seed broke up and the disposal was working again. Although they did absolutely nothing except show up and flip a switch, they still charged me the full service amount of $154.00.  I should have known these guys were crooks as they refused to shake my hand upon entering my home. I guess being friendly with someone you are about to rip off is not recommended.  Unfortunately, I signed their paperwork which was not very smart, as I now have no recourse. Had I not signed, I would stop payment on the check immediately. Don't be fooled by the reviews on their website. Check here first.

Was scammed on replacing my AC motor among other things for $1400. They tried up selling me on replacing my furnace for $2100 b/c it was shot. Being that it's summer I held off on replacing the furnace until I got a second opinion where I later found out the furnace was in perfect working order. This company and its technicians are a fraud!

DO NOT USE Al's Plumbing!!! They will not give you a ruff estimate over the phone!! NO FREE Estimate when they come to your home they want your credit card number and you are charged $49.00 for the estimate!!! I had a simple plumbing problem. Replace a wax seal on the toilet. The technician came out told me the normal price for this job would be around $525.00, but they could do it for $450.00. They could have told me the price over the phone and I could have saved the estimate charge!!!!
You can have this repair done by a good plumber for $ 150.00 to $200.00!! Or maybe less!!!

Don't call, just run away. Called for an estimate. Pushy, aggressive, sales routine. The quote was extremely over priced. Tried to sell equipment that was not needed.  Oh and the estimate cost me $218.69, most reputable companies provide an estimate for free..

I had a toilet that needed to be reset.  I asked over the phone how much it would cost before they sent out a plumber.  They said it was a $39 trip fee and that they do not quote over the phone.  I just wanted a ball park figure.  I stated that I knew that it might be more if more issues arose, but I still wanted an estimate.  They would not give a price.  I went ahead and told them to send a plumber.  I should have known better!!  The plumber had a BOOK with him with all of the prices.  They wanted to charge $522 just to reset the toilet.  It would have been even more if the flange needed to be replaced.  Why couldn't she tell me this over the phone since they have a book of prices??!!  I refused the service and had to pay the $39 trip fee.  I called someone else and had the flange replaced and toilet reset for ONLY $206.  Al's Plumbing Heating and AirConditioning in Plano, TX is a joke.  Do not use them!!

On Wednesday, we were quoted $382 to repair/replace an outdoor faucet ($30 part), and an additional $592 to add a shut off valve ($20 part) on the inside wall. We had already demolished the wall ourselves to gain access to the plumbing (since it was wet and needed to be removed anyway), and told them that we'd like a plastic access cover ($60 part) to make future repairs easier, but they said they weren't able to install one.

They even shut off the water to our home before turning on the faucet to see where the leak was coming from. This and the price felt scam-my, so we paid them the $49 trip fee to get them off our property. We will not be inviting them back. We only invited them in the first place because we thought the copper pipe connecting to the faucet may need repair because we found it wrapped in duct tape from a previous repair (and thus, may have needed cutting, which we don't have the tools for).

Thank you for reminding us why we've started doing everything ourselves! I'm all for paying extra for a professional to do the job correctly, but $900 in labor for a 30 min job is quite excessive.

I have used AL's before and had great work done. We hired them again for a leak coming from our washer recently. The plumber which I did not meet assumed the drain was over flowing (thus the water on the floor) and moved forward with cleaning out the drain pipe. I later found out that, that was not the problem and then called AL's back again. They sent out a totally different plumber, gave us a $75 credit from the first bill and then fixed the real problem labor free (we just paid for parts).

While it is true my drain was not clogged, it was true that is had junk in the drain so it did need to be cleaned out. They took care of me and that's the most important thing when it comes to a companies service. I would use them again.

We have used Al's to service our air conditioning and heating for several years. When we needed repairs, we've called Al's. They've consistently sent good men that were knowledgeable, courteous and didn't try to up-sell us. I've never met Al or his managers, but they are doing something right. They hire good people and they keep them happy. Today we had our six month service call on a/c and plumbing. David, Jeff and Cody were here about an hour, declared all was well and left me with a comfortable confidence. Thanks Al's.

Had some plumbing that needed to be repaired on a pipe near the water meter outside. I ran over the box with my truck and broke an elbow on one of the pipes. I knew what the problem was, which seemed simple enough to me. When they arrived he showed me a sheet for their prices which included welding and cutting pipes. I told him everything down there was pvc, he said that was the price.... $800! he then suggest he can get it down to around $600. I should have known better, but out of frustration and desperation I agree. I talked to a friend after the holidays and his jaw hit the floor when I told him what was what. Parts $10 (not including whatever up charge they put on them, which is understandable) so let's just round it up to $50, labor $100 an hour. They were here for less than 2 hours. So let's do the math
$50 parts
$200 labor
=$250?!?!?!
Even if you add a service call your still only around $300

Where they hell did get $800 estimate?
At the end of the day you can't ever really blame someone when you're the one who said yes. But for most who don't know any better, what else are you going to do but trust the advise of a professional.  Always call around and at least get an idea of what you should expect. I got robbed for $300, thank god that was all.

They charged my 83 year-old grandmother $750 to fix a leaky faucet, and made her go buy the parts at Home Depot, which cost an additional $78. My Dad called Scott to notify him that this was wrong, and that it sounded like they were taking advantage of an elderly woman. He agreed to look into it, and then he did nothing. Horrible company. Do not give them your business.

I will never use these guys again. I feel so stupid allowing them to get $3,100 from me for a 2hr job.
I am an out of town landlord with a property in McKinney. They went to my property to assess what work was needed. Talking to the supvr on the phone he was was very short on details and in a hurry to get to the price-tag. He said the job would likely be done in 2 parts. Part-1 was was $3,100 but could not tell me how much part-2 would be until he ran his camera. He did the $3,100 part and without giving me a description of what he did or what more was needed he transitioned to the quote for part-2 by saying .... to fix the problem it will be another $9,100 I was extremely  irritated to say the least. Funny enough, the additional $9,100 is the exact amount he quoted Timothy B. (2/10/2017). Hmm???

I do not in the least recommend that company because they came across as being focused on the money and very short on customer service.

Never again. These people are scammers. To sum it up this company did a large repair on my slab leak in which I. Had to get inaurance involed. There prices were the highest my insurance company seen $7800 to cut two holes in the slab and repair the leak. When my insurance company asked for an. Itamized receipt the provided one but the had things on there like tool rental fee (the didn't rent any tools) admin fee, Eng fee all of which after emailing and leaving multiple vm for Scott the customer service manager who would never contact me. They could not provide my insurance company a receipt for any of this. These people are scammers they make up stuff and put it on the invoice and cannot provide a receipt because there liars. I even spoke to the techs and they admitted there was no tool rental. Avoid at all cost because  trust me it will cost u big time!

Service provided- removed toilet, removed object that was clogging toilet then replaced toilet. Time spent doing this- maybe an hour. Price $510.00. Seriously? Would have called around if I'd known the object was in the toilet and not in the line (thought the problem was worse than it was). After calling around found that the estimate for removal ranges from $120- $320 for other plumbers in the area. Also, a new toilet costs around $100 dollars. Congratulations for effectively screwing me over. And thank you for reminding me to call around first.

Beware of this company!  I had a small issue with a toilet - they wanted either $400 to change out all the parts or $900 to install a new toilet.  When I refused this ridiculous estimate, they charged me $49 for a trip fee. They did not disclose up front that they do not just fix what is wrong - they want to stick it to you and repair even parts that are perfectly fine.  This company is a total rip off.

I rate this company at a zero star. Few days ago a technician came out to check my toilet. The plumber stated that i need to change everthing (including the commofe itself because its got hardwater deposits) and gave me a quote of $935. He gave me an invoice and stated he can give me a senior discount to help to lower it down to $ 750 but when i looked at the invoice he officially indicated the amount of $935.  I then called another plumber and replaced the whole flush system for only $146 and he even scrape off all the hardwater deposits at no extra charge!!  And now my toilet is flushing as strong as brand new!!! So please be wary of this Al's Plumbing. They will ripped you of for nothing.  INSTEAD, I highly recommend O'Bryan Plumbing Services at 972 727 6364. I've noticed from the previous reviewers that they have the very same complaint with Al's Plumbing.

I want to give them zero stars.  I knew I had a gas leak in my garage.  They charged me $495 to tell what I already knew - that I had a gas leak in the garage, and another $450 to locate the leak - incorrectly.  The two guys they sent took 3 hours to decide the leak was in the main supply line in the crawl space of my garage.  Wrong - it was in a completely different line.  They wanted to charge me $4000 to install a new main supply line because they felt it would be too much work to fix the leak.
I hired a different company that took less than an hour to CORRECTLY find the leak, and got it fixed for less than half of what Al's wanted to charge me.
I'm still trying to get back the $450 Al's charged me for incorrectly locating the leak.  After several phone calls, emails, pictures, and a visit from somebody claiming they needed to personally view the situation, it looks like I'm out $1000 for essentially nothing of any value.

These people are the worst - don't use them!!

Over the past 7 years, we have spent $5,800.00 with them on various plumbing and heating and air conditioning issues.

The last time they were at our home was Saturday, December 17th to check out our heater to see why the master bedroom felt colder than the rest of the house - the unit was working fine. They determined that the unit was working well for it's age (13 years). We were charged $129 - they waived other charges because we have a maintenance policy with them.

During the night (this was the night the temperature dropped to 17 degrees), we woke up to discover that the temperature in the house had dropped to below 50 degrees and when we tried to turn up the heat - the unit wasn't working.

We started calling the answering service at 3:00 am, with subsequent calls every hour on the hour. Finally, at 7:00 am we got a call from the same service tech that had been at our house the day before. He asked my husband to go up in the attic to check the service switch. Sure enough, this idiot had switched it off to work on the unit and NEVER turned it back on! My husband flipped the switch and the unit immediately came on and started trying to heat the house back up.

We were, of course, flabbergasted that someone could be so irresponsible especially on the one the coldest nights of the year. When we called to request a refund of our $129.00, we were told we had to send an e-mail - NO ONE would talk to us about this on the phone. So, we sent the e-mail. After waiting a week for a response, we were told that they would not give us a refund but would take $129.00 off of a new unit if we bought one.

After all the money we have spent with them, it is ridiculous that they wouldn't give us out money back. We paid the guy to check the unit - NOT TO DISABLE IT.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!

Do I have to give at least one star? They don't deserve even one. Worst service, most inept plumber I have ever seen. Just needed a leak in a supply line to an outside faucet fixed. I would have fixed it myself when I got home from work but my mother insisted on calling a plumber. I had already dug up and exposed the leak. It would have taken me 30 minutes to fix and $6 in parts. Al's took 4 hours and charged (with the senior discount over $700.00. Then, he had to come back and redo it because it wasn't right. Then he left a piece of rebar in the yard which we ran over with the lawnmower. This plumber was a disaster.

What a slipshod organization!  Zero ethics, don't give a rat's behind about customer relations.

Had them out 38 days ago to auger out a kitchen drain line.  Tech who came out was unable to complete the job, said he had to be somewhere else and that what he did should be good enough.  Said work is warranted for 30 days, and they'd come back out and re-do it if it clogged again. I joked about only 30 days, and asked so, if it's 40 days, it's going to cost me hundred of dollars again?  He said they're flexible about the time, and that they want to build relationships.

Fast forward to last Friday.  Kitchen drain backing up again, and had a commode with a failed wax ring that was leaking and destroying my wood floors. Same day, emergency, and weekend service was NOT available.

I did the best I could... I turned off the water to the commode and pulled up the damaged wood so I could dry out the are and prevent further damage, and I scheduled a service call for Monday morning.

Mallory called this morning (Monday) to say they were on the way. I confirmed that they had the auger on the truck for a do-over, and that they had the parts on the truck and the time available to replace the water line valves under four of my sinks, as previously planned. She said yes.  Great!

Plumbers showed up, said Mallory told them to charge me again for the angering because they don't warranty that.  Also, the auger in their machine was broken and they'd have to have someone else come out.

I called the office, spoke with Mallory.  I ended up asking to speak with the manager, she claimed that title for herself.  I asked to speak to the owner, and she said he doesn't come in, and he will not call customers, that she (Mallory) was the final authority.  Mallory told me they would be happy to do the other $900+ of work that I had scheduled for today, and would redo the drain auger for $425, but no warranty.

Needless to say, I sent the techs on their way.

There is a reason that this company has such a low rating and so many negative comments.  I wish I had checked before I wasted my time and money dealing with them.

I needed to have a new faucet and garbage disposal installed after replacing my countertops. Everyone I worked with was very friendly and helpful from the initial phone call to the time of installation. They were on time and offer up front pricing. They also apply the trip charge to the repair cost if you decide to use their company. As far as cost, I did some research online and they seemed on target with the information I found for what I needed.  I would recommend them to anyone that needs and appreciates a friendly professional plumbing repair.

Quoted a price for more work than was completed.  We were quoted $3200 to reseat both toilets, replace the cleanouts and the sewer line through the back yard under my tool shed to the property line, and check the line.  When the job was finished all they had done was replace the cleanouts and check the line.  We asked what the new price would be and if we could have a detailed breakdown of the work completed.  They refused both requests and insisted we pay the full amount of the original quote even though all the work was not done.  Multiple phone calls later and a stop payment on the original check just trying to get a proper total resulted in them calling and threatening to file charges with the DA and to have me arrested by the Sherriff's department if I did not pay within 30 minutes.  Consumers Beware!!!!  You would do better to sell your home and move before ever using this company.  Even to sell your house and run!!!!!

Now we just learned that the work was done incorrectly so will have to be done again!!!!  Never ever use these plumbers!

Do not use: $50 trip charge no quote, $391 for quote - no repair, $598 repair-no warranty. Total $989 for a cracked fitting by the water meter on my side and 30-45mins worth of work. Customer service doesn't have prices for quotes but technician has precise prices. My recommendation, find someone else. If the city tells you that a leak has been detected by the meter, save yourself some money and just dig up the area around the meter.

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT do business with these people. I have some rental properties in Dallas. I was out of town and needed a plumber. I called Al's plumbing. They were very pleasant and sent someone out that day. The problem? The pricing is beyond OUTRAGEOUS. They wanted $393 to rebuild the toilet tank items. That means take 15 minutes to install a kit with all new stuff for the tank. $393!!! They also suggested replacing the toilet for A THOUSAND DOLLARS! $1,000!!! I had a plumber replace a toilet in my house for less than HALF of that a few years ago. I told them no on both counts and figured I'd do it myself and save a ton of money. The main problem in the unit was the shower- only hot water came out. They wanted OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS to replace the shower faucet! OUTRAGEOUS. It was nearly $400 to rebuild the faucet, which means replace a few rubber seals in about hald an hour.

So, if you like paying more than double the standard rates for plumbing- and let's be frank, plumbers already charge too much- then this is the place for you! They'll be happy to suck your wallet dry twice as fast!

NEVER AGAIN!! They came out and installed our hot water heater in 2010 and it went out yesterday (4/21/15).  It had a 6 year warranty which was still in effect.  They wanted to charge us $1400 to replace it even though it was still under warranty. After my husband called, more than a little irate, they then lowered the price to $1199. By this time we had located another plumber so we told them no thanks. Before they left, they once again lowered the price to $800. So it was obvious they were trying to rip us off from the beginning.  I feel sorry for the techs that work for him, I'm sure he has a hard time keeping qualified help with those kind of ethics.

These guys were lifesavers! We had an emergency situation: my husband was replacing our thermostat the day before our house was to be inspected for new buyers. Once he replaced it, however, the AC wouldn't come back on. This happened at 8 pm on a Sunday night.

In a panic, I called Al's. Johnny G., the repairman, was out here within an hour and a half.

I'll admit that I was a little worried that given our circumstance, we might get overcharged. However, that fear was proven wrong. Johnny was incredibly honest and trustworthy and really cared about helping us. We had blown out the transformer and wiring. He didn't have the transformer on his truck, so he promised to come back first thing in the morning when he could get the part from the office.

Sure enough, Johnny called around 8 am to say he was on his way and had our AC up and running by 9:30! I will forever be indebted to these guys for the fast, friendly, and honest service we received. I would not hesitate to call them again - and ask for Johnny G!

Should have read the reviews before I called these jokers.  They quoted me $325 to do a 5 minute repair job on my kitchen faucet.  Of course they would not charge me a service fee.  LOL!  All that was needed was to replace a little hose about 1 foot long which probably cost about $25.  Do not call these guys.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!  They are Dishonest and will price gouge!  So glad we stopped them when we did and found a reputable plumber to expose that they didn't do the work they said they did.  Instead of thousands of dollars the reputable plumber did the work for a few hundred dollars.  Will be checking YELP from now on!  These other reviews would have made us run from this dishonest company.

Rip off...They wanted to charge me $487 to rebuild a toilet bowl tank. I can buy a new one and have it installed for that much. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

VERY dishonest.
I called them on a referral from friends.  Needed a pilot light lit.  They charged my friends $45 for the 10 minutes to do that, told me their minimum charge is $200.
Needless to say, I not so nicely suggested they get out of my house quickly.

I guess I'm not the first one to leave BARELY ONE star. They basically collected 49$ for coming out, gave me a REDICILOUS quote of $800 for something that cost me $15.00 for parts and $40.00 for labor (handyman) and appeared high and stoned in front of my door. I thought I was wrong that they were high, because they looked like they were however after giving me an $800 estimate that confirmed their state of mind. I called the office and front lady said she ll pass the message to the mgmt and of course I never heard back. Here is my story!

I called Al's plumbing to come and fix a leaky kitchen sink due to the disposal on a Sunday.
The technician Lance called me back and came to fix the problem Monday morning.     Lance and his tech showed up on time, and very professional.    I was totally impressed by the the quality of the work, and their pricing was reasonable.   I will definitely be calling them again for all my plumbing needs.
Thanks to Al's plumbing I'm a very satisfied customer and would recommend them!

I had a sewer pipe that was broken, and Lance and another person came out to see exactly what was wrong (they snaked the line and ran the camera down the line to determine the pipe was broken.  He quoted me $9100 to replace it and the cleanout!!!  I had a hard time believing that was a reasonable amount to do the work, so I had one other plumber come out and tell me what he could do it for.  They did it for $1800, 20% of what Lance quoted me.  How long does this company think they can stay in business with quotes like that?

Seems to me maybe they didn't want to do any hard work over the weekend so they just threw a crazy number at me to see if I'd bite.  If I did, good for them, more money in their pocket.  If not, oh well, they could jet on down the road to see how many more lines they could snake for $378 a pop (what they charged me to snake my line and give me that silly quote).

I called them out for a heating tune-up for 59.95. The technician they sent out was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about his trade.Unlike the previous guys they sent out. He came back with a list of repairs and things he suggest I do to keep my system running. Then he showed me the prices. Wow I think I got into the wrong line of work. Very expensive. I plan on finding another service company for my so called Tune-ups. Will not use them again.

I have used Al's Plumbing for years and I have always had great luck with them.  I find them to be very professional and courteous.  They arrive on time and always do a good job for us.  Cody and Jeff did the job quickly and everything went great.  I'll use Al's again!

Don't use these guys.  Bottom line is they are not experts and their main objective was to present an upsell estimate with things I didn't need.

I have a maintenance contract with them...they came and checked my plumbing. Found that Two of the toilets needed a flapper and valve.  I asked the cost and was told $432.75 EACH!!!  I said what???  I am ashamed I've used them this long! I called and ask to speak to the owner. No one has had the decency to call me back. I will find every webpage I can to let people know how unethical they are. I am disgusted!!
BE WARNED!   ( btw flapper and valve? Maybe $20)

I have had issues with this company over my yearly inspection, not to mention the labor I had to endure while I was brought to code.  I'm regretful of not following my on judgement in not getting a 2nd or 3rd opinion.

I would never recommend them to anyone.

Long version: Wow, I sure do wish I had heeded the warning of other online reviews before I wasted $100 on a service call. I should have known better when I called a couple other reputable companies 1st and they were all booked for 3-4 days, yet Al's was available to come out within an hour.... and now I know why. They wanted $711 dollars for what ended up being a $275 job from a different (again, reputable) provider. Shame on you Al's for purporting to be a legitimate business and then pricing a job like you're a traveling Gypsy in need of a fix.

Short version: AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I need to replace my shower faucet, so I called and explained to them what I need. I specifically told them that I currently only has a shower head and control, and I need to change the head, control, and install a hand held shower. The lady on the phone didn't even care to listen to what I said, and she just told me that they will send an estimator to my house to take a look, with a fees of $39. I told her, is this necessary? It is a simple job, and I wanted to continue explaining to her that we only need to drill one hole on our tile for the hand held, but she just stopped me for talking. Can you believe that?
Well, since I have used them for the toilet replacement before, and they were good, I was like, OK, just let them do it.
So, the estimator came, and told us that they do not do drilling on the tile at all, and we still have to pay the $39 estimation fee.
If the lady on the phone let me finish my talking, she would know that we will need drilling, and she could have told us that they cant do it! However, she just want to send the estimator and charge us $39!
I will never use this company again.

Feel very disappointed from the Al's plumbing service I've got recently.. Not recommend to anyone especially for people who have no idea about plumbing. The general concern is No way, but  the client should pay or for the technician quote  trip  $ 39.00 or for the service whatever the technician say you. (By phone they don't provide any price range or approximate job charge.) However, the quote price $ 39.00 could be included for the final job estimation. In my case just for change a leaking gas 10 ''  tube (15 minutes job and $ 25.00 parts) behind the oven the quote was $ 495.00.  Moreover, the technician mentioned about so called 'standard price' for the similar job at local plumbing businesses like them. The job price was sound too expensive for me, so I have to delay their service, but still was responsible to pay $ 39.00 for the quote trip.
After I found another plumbing service (the company was local and in fact they charged me only $ 125.00 for the full estimation, parts and job) )  I just thinking : How good money makers the AL's is , just  think: $ 39.00  for the trip and $ 495.00 for the job. If you deny their 'standard'  job price offer you still responsible to pay them  for their trip. Another-words you'll always loose your money, but what about a SERVICE???

I've never had worse service in my life from a plumbing company. Then I went down to their office and they were very rude to me as well as had livestock living in the office where they run a business. Actual rabbits and livestock . Unreal!! I wouldn't recommend this company to an enemy!!!!

I called these guys twice. The first time they repaired my faucet and did a great job and only charged about $200 including the faucet. I thought these guys would be my go to guys for plumbing from here on out so I called them again to replace the drain thinking it would cost me around $200. They wanted almost $500 to replace it for half an hour worth of work and they gave me coupon that got it down to around $450. I was going to tell them to leave but I wanted to get it fixed and they were going to charge me $90 service fee. There prices are OUTRAGEOUS. I will not be calling these guys anymore. I went online and it looks like the highest price is around $260. I will do more research next time and read the reviews. They do a great job but charge a 100% premium over other reputable companies.

They are awful. Came for a few minutes to fix our drain. Charged us $351 then left. When we questioned the high bill, they said that they give a warranty so if a problem came up they'd fix it. We even phoned the owner, who confirmed.

Sure enough the drain stopped up again. When we called to ask about the warranty they denied they'd said that, snd that they gave no warranty.

Screw these cheats & gypsters. Never use them!

On 8/26/14 I heard a crazy grumbling sound come from my outside unit. Then my A/C starting blowing hot air. I called Al's because I purchased an entire brand new unit from them 2010 (which in hind site was DEFINITELY over priced - but I was desperate). The tech came to the house and ran cold water on the compressor. He said it was bad and needed replacing but the cost of the part would be covered under warranty - but not labor. He then proceeds to tell me that it would cost $1800.00 to replace the compressor just for labor!!! I asked him how long it would take to do the job and he said about 4 hours. I asked what their hourly labor rate was and he said they didn't have one except for corporate contracts (what a load of crap!). He tried to convince me to get zero APR with the Wells Fargo Home Improvement Credit Card (which my friend had and Wells Fargo intentionally delayed posting her payment so Well Fargo could increase the 0 APR to 21.99% for violating the terms of the zero APR period - bastards). The Al's rep kept telling me the compressor was broken and that it was just going to get hotter and hotter. Well, throughout the not, the A/C stayed on. In fact it's been 4 days and it's still cool.

I called a friend of a friend who has a small business. He said, it sounds like they were trying to take me for a $1800.00 ride. He couldn't explain what happened - but he was honest in his assessment. And in the event the A/C goes out again my friend's friend will be getting my busy - not these THIEVES!
