1st Call Plumbing Heating and Air

Both of our air conditioners went out within a week of each other. We called a couple of other companies, and either we did not receive a call back or they didn't show up. Chris M was our tech today, and we couldn't be happier. He had us back up and running quickly. He could've taken complete advantage of the situation, and he didn't. It's great to find honest people. I would definitely recommend 1st Call

Also was charged $395 for a capacitor replacement. Part lists for $65 on multiple sites and the technician  was there for 30-45 minutes. Spoke to the owner who stated this is the price because they are a big business and have large overhead expenses. Bad business practices, will not return or recommend.

First rate service.  We had a tankless water heater installed.  They talked us into the brand they carry (Navien). This system requires the Navicir recirculator which is problematic.  It continually has a Popping sound that is loud.  Plus the hot water does not stay warm/hot at the far end of the house.  We previously had a takigi system that worked great will recirculating pump.

I was charged $395 for a $30 capacitor. Their invoice had no detail of the labor rate or any breakdown. The tech was at my house 30 minutes. First and Last time I'll call First Call.

Adding this comment to change my review. The very next day of the original review, the owner called me and apologized for the poor experience. Indicated that the plumber was new, and that this company takes customer service very seriously. In remedying the incident, i was credited $100.

I appreciate the gesture of following up and making sure that customers are treated decently, and it shows that this company is and wants to do the right thing.

The plumber resolved my issue of removing a water heater in the attic and running a new line from the water heater in the garage including a circulation pump. He did not try to sell me something I didn't want or need.

Maybe a bit overpriced, but well worth the service I received. Here is my story.

Admin/Communication: Called and got through to a person (Sonia) right away. She was very courteous and helpful. She booked an appointment same day. I then received a text later indicating they were ahead of schedule and could come early if I was available. Several texts and calls back and forth with Nick to confirm my schedule and my technicians were on the way. Communication was great. I appreciate that after other companies lack of communication.

Service: Travis and Jake came out. Explained the fix, gave me the cost and they were on their way! I asked a lot of questions during the process. Some related to the fix and some unrelated. They helped me locate my ball valve, checked my water pressure and we chatted about meters and such. They were very informative, polite, knowledgeable and super quick! Some may think the service call was expensive. For me it was worth the cost to get it done in a timely manner, by a professional and communicative staff who answered all my questions. I'm very satisfied with 1st Call Plumbing Heating & air. I will consider them again in the future.

I called 1st Call Plumbing for a sewer line repair. They were on time and professional. Justin explained what had to be done (4 ft access hole and 10 ft tunnel under the house). They got to it right away. Everyone I encountered during the process was very polite. They are my go to plumbers!

it was one of those Yelp moments when you know why the plumbing co. you picked to fix/replace a kitchen faucet consistently gets 5 stars for their work. Professionalism. 1ST Call Plumbing did not disappoint. Chris Muha & Tate his assistant showed up to help. 1st off they fixed the problem of the faucet just by checking the release mechanism, but what was really impressive was my wife had seen a modern design she liked. Whala!! 1st Call Plumbing had one in stock. Chris & Tate had finished up in no time, now for some dirty work. heh, Thank you 1st Call Plumbing.

1st call was very good to come install 40gal water heater. they were curtius and prompt in coming. the price was almost $3000 which as horribly high but was needing one installed.

They were open on July 5th even though it was a Holiday. They came out and installed a new a/c the next day. Helped me set up a loan. When I had a problem they sent out a representative the next day explained the problem and fixed it within an hour.

Need new commercial, lady's voice is so annoying. Get her off the TV. Company maybe good but she ruined the incentive to call

I cannot thank the people at 1st Call Plumbing enough for fixing my leaking (from freeze) outside hose bib, from the phone scheduler, to Chris and his partner.  It was of course on a weekend and I was first given an appointment the following day, but the scheduler said she would contact me if it could be sooner.  Within 15 min. She called back to say they could be at my house within 15 min. Chris and his partner (sorry I cannot recall his name) were courteous and professional.  They competed the repair quickly and also provided a quote to replace my street shut off which is not functioning.  1st Call Plumbing will now be my plumbing service.  Thank you again!

First rate company! Quick and caring response. Between dispatch, techs and a company working together to solve our problems. I definitely would recommend to all my neighbors! They are my choice for my AC and plumbing needs going forth!

Once again, 1st Call came to my rescue in record time. With the freezing weather, a hose bib coming out of my house burst. My house looked like a fire hydrant. This is the second time I've used 1st Call and they were just as professional, efficient and responsive as they were the first time. Within a few hours they were able to send someone out to help. Josh and his apprentice Julian were friendly, knowledgeable and got the work done very quickly. Water was restored to my house and Josh gave me some pointers on how to beat deal with the cold weather. Julian even found one of my earrings that I had lost in the yard, in my frantic attempt to get my water shut off.
The service was excellent and the price reasonable.  I really can't say enough good things about the company and it's staff.

Definitely overpriced. An employee came for a free estimate, which I appreciated, but wanted to charge a little over $900 to replace my toilet. I understand it may not be easy, but my goodness. It was going to cost about 3-4 times the cost of the toilet itself. Will not be using this company.

My mom called 1st Call Plumbing to check for a leakage at her home. She was recommended this company by a family friend. It was easy to make the appointment with Teresa and they came out the same day. Reno and Cory were very professional, wearing masks. They used a camera to check for leakage and determined the source of the leak. They didn't charge for their visit and recommended that we follow up with an appliance specialist. Thank you for your honest and efficient help!

Would not recommend.  Overpriced and not competitive with other businesses.  Recommend doing your homework and getting numerous quotes.

This company is criminal charging over $300 to flush an electric water heater. It takes them only 15 from start to finish to complete this type of job. Avoid this money hungry company.

Another casualty of the polar vortex event 2021! Great customer service and due to the high demand for plumbers, I was kept informed as to when to expect my turn. I was called to verify I still needed a plumber and told they could be at my place within 30 minutes. Anthony and Reno arrived under 30 minutes, friendly, and both wearing face masks following the COVID-19 precautions. I had two broken pipes and the repairs were promptly completed. The water was turned on and they check for other leaks, luckily there were none. If I need a plumber in the future, I will definitely be calling 1st Call Plumbing Heating and Air.

I had a problem with water in the floor of both my bathrooms. It was not a daily occurrence so I thought it might be a clog in the tub. After three days I called 1st Call told them my problem and tried to accommodate me as soon as possible.  I did wait about four days before they came. They gave me a free estimate and told me what the problem was. Josh was courteous and professional took his time and showed me the problem. The sewer line clog and root penetration, he and his helper Joel did a fine job. Electronically  located also a problem that extended to the street. That is the SAWS problem and will come to repair. I am very satisfied with their work, the follow up keeping me posted, the diggers and the work in general. I did not give a 5 star because it was a little pricey but considering all the work, new sewer line and additional backup installed. Gave me a 5 year warranty on parts and labor.. Good job !st Call! Thank you for a fine job.

I had estimates from 7 different companies, and some of them ghosted me rather than come to the appointments even for the estimate.  Then finally called 1st Call and realized why it should have been my first call!  Josh and Joel came out and gave me an estimate to install a propane line for my new stove, and then set the appointment to do the install.  They were very professional and cordial, and did a great job, offering suggestions that worked better than my original plan.  I needed them to come back again to make a modification after the propane company did their part, and they were prompt, friendly and efficient in their work.   Yes, maybe a little expensive, but it think in this case I definitely got what I paid for.

We had a new AC / heater installed going on 3 years ago. The heater never really worked right from the beginning so we called 1st call and they sent someone out. The tech shrugged off the issue, told us the heat pump will freeze up during below freezing temps but will return to normal function when the sun comes up and the pump is able to defrost. Shortly after that visit we had the south Texas snow storm. With the rolling brown outs the heater wouldn't keep up anyway so no one was called again. We started having issues again this year. Any time the temp got close to freezing the heater would stop working. Waking up to a 55 degree house got old so we finally called someone out again. They sent Chris Ricketts. Within 10 minutes he found the issue. The wires that control the Aux heat were not making a good connection. He fixed the connection, reprogrammed our thermostat and now we have heat. He made a 5 star review customer out of a customer that would have recommended anyone go anywhere else. Give that man a raise! Thanks again Chris!

Service: Repair heating system

I had water pipes that burst with the Texas Snow Storm, Uri. I called 1st Call Plumbing because they sent me a flyer, and represented themselves as a Family Owned business. When the technician came, my Free Estimate was a contract he presented at the curb. $175.00/hr. for leak detection with a 4 hour minimum ($700.00) and a repair cost of $595.00/hr for repairs with a 4 hour minimum ($2,380.00). Then there was the cost of the plumbing parts. This was a contract for over $3,000.00 and they had not even looked at my broken pipe! There was water leakage in my wall but the service technician said he would not be dealing with that. He would be doing a deversion to get my water back on. I would need to call someone else to deal with the dry wall and water leakage in the wall. I hadn't had water in my house for Two weeks, and he said Other People Are Paying It Wow! I declined to sign their contract, and called the owner, John. He claimed this was not how his company did business, but they sent these contracts to my email, and had a recording of my conversation when I called for a service request! I'm going to wait a few more weeks to get a reputable plumber who really cares about people and does not treat their customers like a business opportunity.

Ricardo came out to look at our air condition to give us a diagnostic assessment.  He was professional courteous and gave us the information we needed to know how to address our problem.   He wore a mask which is very important with the current Covid 19 situation and explained everything he was doing with the diagnostic check on the unit which I greatly appreciated.  I would definitely call this company again to address an issue.

Awesome customer service!  Dealing with a few things on a very busy Monday and turning Moen Chateau (Plastic) Knob Handle to stand-up shower produced no hot water for my spouse. No time to deal with issue, I called 1st Call Plumbing Heating and Air in the morning and the plumber team of two came later that afternoon, evaluated the situation and removed broken Plastic Knob Handle that had been previously installed with new Posi-Temp Valve Stem in July 2018, but a competitor installer would not install new Chrome Lever Handle as was requested by Homeowner and the type of Lever Handle that had been previously installed for 15 years in that shower.  Plastic Knob Handle lasted 3 years!  Homeowner installed new Moen Chrome Posi-Temp Shower Lever Handle at recommendation of 1st Call. Well done!

We recently purchased a home that 1st call had completed plumbing work on prior to us closing. When we moved in we noticed that there was still a leak coming from our master bath shower. We contacted 1st call, who at first was very helpful, they wanted to make sure the same plumber came out since they were familiar with the work. They came out and did an inspection, opened the wall and confirmed the leak was coming from the shower and that it was simply missed when the initial work was done. They informed us the issue was either the shower pan or the gasket for the drain. The plumber told us they could fix the plumbing but would not be able to safely remove the tile work or we could contact a contractor to get the entire job completed. We told him we would let him know what we decided. My husband and father removed the shower doors, tiles and parts of the wall to make sure the plumber could come in and repair the leak. After calling 1st call back to set up the appt they informed us there was nothing they could do and we would now have to go through a contractor. This has left us frustrated, feeling as though we had wasted our time and were originally given false information. We tried to tell them we had removed everything so they could fix the issue and they still refused to work on the job. I would not recommend.

I can't say enough good things about First Call Plumbing, Heating & Air!

First Call was recommended to me by a friend after I sent out a distressed email that I had had two plumbers look at a mainline stoppage in my house and had completely opposite diagnoses. One told me it would be $15,000 to fix my plumbing; the other told me that it was the city's problem and to call them.

My friend recommended that I call First Call. She said that they we're honorable and would get my plumbing fixed quickly and at a reasonable price. I made the call and spoke with Ryan in the front office. He listened to what I had to say about my experiences and then apologized that I was treated so poorly and got such confusing information. He promised that they would send somebody out that evening - this was 5 o'clock on a Friday - to see if they could open up the plumbing and find out what the problem was. I had been three days without being able to use my shower, my toilet, or run water as everything was stopped up in my house, because I waited for the city to come out and check their side as the second plumber said the blockage was past my property.

Bob, and his apprentice Anthony, showed up at my house and got to work right away. They had to use three separate pieces of equipment to clear out the blockage in my mainline. It was well after dark, but they did it. Bob was then able to use the camera to show me that tree roots had broken my mainline from underneath it and said that it would have to be replaced.

This was the same thing that the first plumber had told me, but he could not clear my line, so the camera that he used was completely underwater not showing me anything, just assuming that a tree was the cause. He also said that it would be $15,000 and that I would have to take down my crepe myrtle tree to fix the line.

First Call said that they could replace the pipe the following week.  I would be able to use all of my plumbing, just to be careful about the volume I put through the pipe. Also, they could replace it, route the new line around my tree (so I didn't have to cut it down) and were almost 1/3 of the price of the first plumber.

The following week the excavation crew showed up, as scheduled. They were awesome! They had a great time, you could tell that they liked their job. They were polite, efficient, and very careful with my yard. When they left there was a trench from my house to the street, but they had everything covered. They left tarps with rocks to hold them, covered the trench with boards so that it was safe and they put caution tape around my entire yard so not only me but anybody else would be safe and know that there was danger.

The next day, sure enough Bob and Anthony, with their team showed up to replace my mainline. They connected everything, saved my tree and I was back in business.

Once it passed inspection by the city, the excavation crew came back and covered up all of the pipe, they reconnected all of my sprinkler system and left my yard with a single strip of dug up dirt down the middle of it, up to the house.

I got a follow up call from First Call the next day to make sure that everything was fine, in working order, that I was satisfied with the work that was done and that my yard had been left as I expected.

I cannot recommend this company enough. My experience was above and beyond what I've ever had with a plumber. I now know why they're called First Call - they will always be mine.

We needed some help with our bathtub spout diverter, and Reno from 1st Call Plumbing came over to take care of it. He was friendly, professional, and did a great job replacing it. We will definitely recommend and use 1st Call Plumbing again!

Had plumbing work done yesterday. These guys are professional, courteous and knowledgeable. They are respectful of your house and time. Their pricing is competitive and they explain everything thoroughly and are happy to answer any questions. Everything works perfectly now! We will definitely be calling them for future work. Highly recommend.

I am a bit conflicted about this review. First called 1st call back in April.  They sent out Reno to replace a shower valve and replace our shower pan.  After Reno left we discovered he had damaged our bathroom counter to the point it needed repair or replacement.  Karl came out and agreed to have it fixed.  While he was here he discovered the new shower valve was leaking.  Reno and crew didn't do the job right.  Karl fixed it and the owner John got our counter top fixed.   So far so good.  BUT.......when the dry walkers came to start repairing the shower walls they discovered that Reno had placed the pan in the wrong spot, making it impossible for them to do their job.    1st call sent someone out right away but he did not do any repairs.   Instead they put us off two more days.   We were promised it would get fixed today yet here we sit.   Promises are all we have meanwhile their, or I should say Reno's ineptitude is causing a two week delay in our repair.    I really appreciate them promising to fix their mistake, but promises aren't getting the job done

When I spoke to Daniel this afternoon to schedule my appointment to have a technician come out to see a drip in my water heater expansion tank, I was hopeful. Even when I received a late call from him to let me know the technician was still 25 minutes out, I was still hoping everything would work out. But then I got a call from the technician and nope. Without looking at a single thing, the tech proceeded to tell me that my quote would be anywhere from $295 to over $800. I asked him if this was even without taking a look at the drip...maybe just adjusting something. He said if he adjusted anything it would be at least $295. Needless to say, I thought I should look elsewhere. Daniel called back to try and get a different technician out but I declined. I'll take my chances with someone else. Thank you very much.

Had no Ac on a Sunday and they answered. Have seen those boys grow up on old commercials so I  figured it give them a shot. Hopefully they learned good service from their mom and dad over the years when they owned Armendia. Well they did! I found out  it is the same people under a different company name. They sent over Chris R. He was excellent and tackled it right away. Drain line was clogged and pan was full of water. They will be my 1st Call next time.

My garbage disposal was backed up so I called them for help. The person who answered the phone was very polite and set up an appointment right away. They called to tell me when they were 30 minutes out. The service person accessed the situation and I had a clog that they could plunge quickly, so they didn't charge me. And they even checked my water quality for free. I highly recommend them.

I had a great experience with 1st Call.  They are honest, affordable, and extremely professional.  I love that they are family owned and operated.  No doubt I would use them again.

Johnnie and Ryan were awesome! They removed our improperly installed and broken AC. Their work was truly professional. They also fixed the ductwork that had been poorly done by our contractor. I can't say enough good things about this company and its people!!!!!

This is a revision of my first review for First Call.  Once they saw my bad review about my new water heater they couldn't do enough for me to correct the situation.  They had to come back to my house 3 more times in order to correct the situation, but they did so cheerfully and now my water heater is working perfectly.  The owner even called me to see if I was satisfied.  I definitely would use this company again.

People, make this your one and only call for any plumbing needs. You will be treated like a very important customer the entire time. I had a huge job that spanned over a week and these guys were here when they said they were going to be here every single day. I never had to be behind them making sure stuff got done. The phone reps are so nice and knowledgeable as are the guys who do the work. I could go on and on about how great these guys are but the bottom line is you won't get better service anywhere else.

Art and Luis showed up wearing masks, due to COVID of course, we're on time. They were polite, friendly, and didn't mind answering questions that I had about the new air handler and condenser. 1st Call was quick to add me to their schedule and install the new unit, roughly 24 hours! They called to let me know that technicians were on the way and I would definitely recommend calling them because of how quick they were able to come out and replace the entire AC unit.

Can't say enough good things about 1st Call Plumbing and Air Conditioning. They have great service,  and their techs go above and beyond to take care of your problems at a fair price.  Call them. You will be happy you did.

One of my AC units was draining water out of a spout that it didn't normally on to my back porch.  I took this as a sign that there was an issue with one of my units.  I called 1st Call in the morning to come help me figure out the issue.  They were able to have a truck at my house later that day.  The tech showed up when promised, very polite as I explained the issue and then went to investigate.  He found the issue and cleared the blockage.  He also looked at my second unit and found that my drain was broken near the unit and fixed that for me at no additional cost.  These guys are awesome.  Great value, very professional and I highly recommend them.

I had a wonderful experience with them! From the time you call til they arrive. They let you know when they are dispatched and they send a picture of who is coming to your house. They were very professional. For the quality of work I received, the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend them.
