Michael Shaver Plumbing

Intitial meeting was great! The plumber that came out was knowledgeable, nice and on time. That's where the praise ends. We scheduled to have the service done a week later. 30 minutes before they were to start the project they called to say that the city would require an inspector to walk thru BEFORE issuing a plumbing permit, and that they would need to reschedule for next week. I called the city to see why they were requiring this, only to be told that they did not say that nor do they need to come do a walk thru until the jobs complete. The man for the city went a step farther to say that the reason the permit was denied was because the plumbers license was expired!! When I called to ask why they told me that I had the pleasure (sarcasm) of speaking to the owner Michael Shaver. He was rude, unapologetic, spoke loudly and constantly so I couldn't get a word in. And came up with excuses that I'm sure he thought I would buy, since I'm a woman, or some BS like that. We were willing to go with them even though their price was by far the highest. They should've dealt with the permit DAYS ago, NOT 30 minutes Before. I'm huge on customer service and Michael, you are the worst!

Unfortunately, I had to call Mr. Shaver on Memorial Day.  Thankfully, he was able to come out and assess our situation.  He was clear in his explanation and his assessment to us.  He was able to offer a temporary solution to our problem until we are able to fix it permanently. I highly recommend Mr. Shaver and will absolutely be giving him a call to fix our old plumbing system!

Did a good job of cleaning out a sewer line. Also ran a camera down it to locate approximately where the problem was and the route of the line( I always thought it went straight out to the street, but apparently took a dog leg to the side street.

Pleased with the service, I thought it a bit high on the pricing but they responded quickly and showed up on time, so I guess worth it.

Excellent plumbing company, we operate 100+ homes in Nashville and Mt. Juliet & they are our first point of contact. Connie and the office staff are professional, courteous, and responsive in addition to their plumbing technicians.

This is my first time using this plumber and I must say that the service person was knowledgeable and pleasant. The work was done promptly and to my satisfaction. The price for the service was surprisingly inexpensive and fair. I would not hesitate to recommend this resource to anyone. These are good plumbers at a fair price!

We had an emergency plumbing issue the afternoon before leaving for vacation. Michael Shaver Plumbing (MSP) was very responsive, sending out their first available technician (Sean) within 1.5 hours. Sean was fantastic...quickly identifying the issue, providing a cost effective solution and was thorough in getting the job done. We recently moved to the Gallatin area and this was our first experience with MSP. Although I am not hoping for another plumbing issue, but if we do...we are calling Michael Shaver Plumbing and requesting Sean!

I had a bit of an emergency. Both my showers had the same issue but I had this company for just the hall bath. I had an uninsured Plummer come and make my situation worse. He wasn't able it fix his mess. I needed my water to be turned back on so I called this company. He was very nice on the phone but nice soonest mean anything these days. I didn't know it was over $940 when I hired them. I feel they took advantage of my situation. For them to put in new values system and faucet. With cheap plastics knobs and super dated look. It doesn't even look nice. He was there less then 3 hours. The adjacent bedroom had a plumbing cubby in the wall. It was really easy for him to get access to this area as well. It was an old delta faucet system that need to be changed out because plastic values were leaking.

The second bath (master) I hired another licensed Plummer and with everything out the door same job it was $300. I even have a nicer update looking faucet. He was retire military and in the Plummer union. Super outstanding man. I will call on this gentleman who fix my master bathroom for future fixes. Thanks Andrew!

Thought charging 480 for a garbage disposal and installation was high. However, they did fix a leaking faucet for free.

This was a mixed bag. I had high hopes for these guys based on Yelp. The reviews are great. Even though the Yelp sent out bid requests to several other plumbers, I had already settled on Shaver based on the reviews.

I asked for an estimate when I called their office to set an appointment. I was told there would be an $89 trip/diagnostic charge and then they would charge me for the work, which they said they would tell me once the service tech checked out my issue (Leaky outdoor faucet). So I was fine with that because I had a degree of trust since the reviews were so good. And I had received a flat rate estimate by then from a competitor for $220.

So I'm thinking in the ballpark of $200 which was fine.

The guys who came over were on time, personable and professional. I liked them. However when they were finished estimating the service, it came to $489.

This was just too far out of the realm of possibility that I just paid them the diagnostic fee and am having a friend come do the faucet replacement for me. $50 part and I'll grill some burgers.

The company did come back to put in correct toilet, mount the flexible pipe to floor joist after we called. But the thing is we had to call. Paying $3100 to ai company for these two things we should not have had to call them. I suggest folks to call a good handy man that can do this type of work for you. $$$$

Being fairly new to the area and not knowing who to call for my septic to be cleaned out, I searched yp Mobile. I called 3 different plumbing/ septic companies. And Michael Shaver was the only one to call me back. I was unable to answer due to being at work, so we scheduled through text for the next day! Robert Oliver was out technician and he was right on time!! He was a very nice man, and cleaned up after he was done, gave suggestions on what to use in our septic to break down the solids, then was on his way. The price was right too! We'll definitely be calling this company back for any plumbing/ septic needs!

We had an emergency plumbing issue and Michael Shaver Plumbing answered the call on the second ring and were at our house within 2 hours! Not only did they fix the problem they helped us learn what caused it so it's less likely to happen in the future. We would have paid any amount of money but it helps they were very affordable. Highly recommend.

Over the last couple of weeks I've had two visits from Michael Shaver Plumbing. The techs are great, very professional. They did a good job, even correcting the install of a sink and shower a different plumber did wrong last year. They came very quickly, on the same day I called and within a couple of hours. Now my sink is correctly installed and my main line is flowing freely!  Definitely my new plumber.

What a pleasure doing business with this company. Called at 3:00 Friday afternoon, Michael Shaver (owner) answered the phone immediately and told me he would have someone there within 2 hours and that the plumber would call when he was a half hour away. (Might I add that this was not an emergency call, I just happened to discover a leak under the kitchen sink). Josh was there within an hour, having called when he was a 1/2 hour out as promised. Josh was an absolute professional and both my husband and I enjoyed standing in the kitchen talking to him as he laid under the kitchen sink fixing the problem. I only wish all service people and company owners showed the amount of professional that Michael and Josh did. I highly recommend this company (and would ask for Josh!) and thank them and wish them all the best!  Hope we don't have too many plumbing problems, but will only call this company in the future, knowing that they are the best of the best!

Super professional and fast response time. We called on a Sunday evening and they were out to our house in an hour. The gentleman that arrived was very friendly and had us fixed up in no time. We had a hole in the water line in the wall.  I was terrified the cost would be huge and I thought it was really reasonable for an emergency call. Thank you Michael Shaver Plumbing and thank you Larry for coming out and taking good care of us.  Definitely will use them again.

I provided all the details on the message request, then they sent a message saying call for a free estimate then I called and the person didn't even know where Brentwood was and said it would be an $89 dispatch charge to come out to give a free estimate?!?!?! I upped the review to 4 stars because the owner reached out and said the receptionist made an error and they would not charge the $89.

I had an issue with my septic system. They sent a tech out right way who diagnosed and repaired the issue. Recommended other work that was needed. Come back and completed the job the next week.
Two week later they came back with a crew and dirt to restore my yard from minor damage caused. It was raining hard when the repairs were done and the equipment damaged some grass.
They were very apologetic set a date to come out communicated great through the entire process.
Great people, great works and pricing!
Highly recommended.

No Hot Water is not a problem for these guys.
In and out quickly, just in time for me to get a much needed Hot Shower.  
I'm happy with their cost, communication and repairs, this crew was awesome.

So, I have tried about 4 or 5 plumbers in the Gallatin-White House-BethPage-Portland area and they've all failed to impress me. For one thing, some of them just don't show up. Or they show up, assess the problem and tell me how to fix it (rather than fix it themselves as I've hired them to do--I kid you not). I was beginning to think no plumber in middle Tennessee actually wanted to do any work. Someone recommended Michael Shaver Plumbing and I gave them a call one morning not too long ago when I had a plumbing issue that needed pretty close to immediate attention. I figured if I could get them booked for that I'd get them to address some of the other issues I'd put off from lack of work by above referenced plumbers.
Anyway, Michael himself called me back within an hour of my leaving a message on the company machine on a Sunday. Getting a call back at all was a step up to other local plumbers. He scheduled me for the first thing in the AM to save me a bit of $ (Sunday plumbing is expensive y'all) and his guy showed up even earlier than his estimate and fixed all of my issues in less than two hours. Now, they charge a flat fee just to show up which is higher than some and some don't have such a baseline charge at all--but they didn't charge me needlessly for things I didn't need and they didn't gauge me by suggesting work that needn't be done. They fixed the problems as efficiently as possible and they fixed them correctly. They didn't tell me to do it myself.
So kudos, I found a plumber that knows how to work in Sumner County.

Our hotwater wasn't working in one of our bathrooms and some of our faucets had really weak water pressure.  I called Michael Shaver plumbing and they showed up the next morning. They were on time and super professional. They gave me an estimate prior to doing work and I was pleasantly surprised with their price. I will definitely use them as my go to plumber now.

I called for service and they responded the same day. The crew jumped right in and had my home serviced very quickly and Professionally.

Called for a problem with a vent on a water heater at 9 PM I was impressed that they showed up at 10:30 PM to fix the problem. Unfortunately, they did not have the part I needed so they told me they would be back in the morning to fix they problem. However, they never came back. I called them and they said that the part was unavailable and they did not schedule any further service for me. I wasted a whole day waiting for a service tech that never showed up.

Arrived in a timely manner. Provided estimates and explained every step to come to a solution to our problem. Staff was very professional and honest in helping us resolve our issues.

Tyler came to our house to inspect our mainline sewer as we were having repeated backup issues. He was knowledgeable and no nonsense, diagnosed the problem, and got us a quick estimate on the necessary fix. Michael Shaver Plumbing will be our first call for any future plumbing issues. Clearly professional, experienced, and honest people.

The tech, Sean, was prompt and very professional.  I was really disappointed that I was charged a dispatch fee on top of the repair.  Paid $297 for a clog less than 2 feet from the sink.  Far more time was spent with Sean taking calls than clearing this drain.  

Pricing alone will stop me from going back.
