VETSBuilt Contracting Kitchen Remodel
I wish I had a better experience to report here. I sincerely hoped to recommend this contractor but am unable.
We were sold on a lot of things, few of which ended up being accurate. One of the most disappointing was being told they use Vets. Based on my experience this ended up being untrue, unless they were veterans of Mexico's military - I didn't ask that. 2 of the 12+ people that walked in and out of my home were Vets. One was the owner's brother. The two Vets were supervisors and worked a combined 5 or 6 hours over a 2 week period. Don't bank on them bringing vets in to do the work. That was essentially a sales tactic and it felt deceitful.
The team they bring in is very nice but speaks little English making communication challenging. We were told to have everything moved and ready by 8am on a Monday but no one showed up until we called, then they came at 10:30. They ripped the floor out in two hours and then said they forgot their tools and had to leave. They didn't come back. I also heard they hadn't been paid from their last job and feel that was part of their hesitation to do more than destroy my floor and leave for the day.
The next day no one showed up again and we had to call for a status update. When the crew finally arrived, they worked for 3 hours and told me they forgot their tools and had to leave. That leaves me to question the work overall ethic here. 16 hours of work time available Monday and Tuesday yet they only utilized about 5.5 hours total. Not the best start and the Super was rarely here to check up on things.
We had to pay for the dumpster and it was hosted in the driveway. However, every day we found someone else's house trash in there - someone else's construction garbage was being dumped into the container we had to pay for under contract. Why was I renting this for his other clients, or why didn't they inform us that is was shared? It was very unusual to me, to have trucks bringing garbage INTO my neighborhood and dumping in my driveway receptacle.
Next, the tile chosen was the faux wood planks. They blotted the planks in 3 places and set them. Once dried we easily ran knives underneath the tiles to show them the enormous gaps in coverage. Only 60% of the tile had thin-set and the potential for cracks over the next 5-10 years is huge and upsetting. We went to two different tile stores and without leading them into an answer asked them how to best lay such tiles. We asked if running silverware underneath the laid, dried tile gaps was in any way an acceptable coverage method and they said NO NO NO. We brought this up to the contractor. He said they were wrong and just trying to sell us something, although that wasn't remotely what transpired. I told him the back of the thin-set bag even says to cover the entire tile and asked him to show me anywhere else, online or in a store, that I could verify his method of 60% coverage. He stumbled and was at a loss without an answer. It appeared he was caught cutting some serious corners. They ripped up one room of tile to re-lay it. The others couldn't be done without us spending a ton of money to correct their approach to partially thin-setting tile. We would have to replace a living room of already laid tile. The fixed the dining room instead and told us they would change their method to complete coverage.
The kitchen counter came in, too. Unfortunately at some point when this installer was bringing it in and out (and in and out) to cut it down, it was scratched. He installed it, left it dusty when he said he was done, and split. As soon as I sprayed it down to clean it I saw the scratch, which looks to be from the teeth of a blade such a a saw. When we presented it, we were told it was already there and they can't do anything about it.
The toilets were also replaced and had hair intwined within. Eww.
The tile grout purchased was the second from the darkest available but when applied and dry, looked light tan and white in some places. It looks nothing like what we ordered and doesn't match the tile.
They tiled up to the bedroom carpet and left that carpet unattached. When we were in the final walkthrough trying to finish up, we reminded him to tuck that under so no one rips off their toes on the lip of the new tiles. We were told, "We don't do carpet." That's not how it was explained prior to signing the contract.

I honestly could go on and on like this. It was one thing after another and when we asked for corrective actions we hit a wall. It took long conversations to make them understand that long-term quality counts. They corrected some things and provided minor financial relief for the 5 day job taking 14 days with layers of mistakes. That was to pacify us and it worked. We wanted them OUT before they messed up more. However I feel the public should know about the potential issued involved with this contractor. I did not have a good experience here and have difficulty recommending without serious oversight of the work done.

Petrus Countertop and Remodeling Kitchen Remodel
We had Petrus Countertops and Remodeling redo our 1990's kitchen countertops, tile backsplash create a center island with custom cabinets and install a new granite composite sink.  My husband and I painted the cabinets ourselves since we wanted to save some money.   After researching several companies and speaking with many; We finally decided to use Petrus.  After we met Fabio I knew this was the company I wanted to do business with.  He is very knowledgable and stays true to his word.  I highly respect a business owner that does this!  Fabio came out measured our kitchen precisely and helped me decide on the granite.  I only had to mention my color choices and style and he knew exactly what granite and color of sink to install.  This project started in the fall and after a few bumps in the road- we now have beautiful new granite countertops!  Fabio even came on a weekend (On his own time) to fix a minor issue I found on the granite slab after the project was completed.  I would absolutely recommend Petrus Countertops and Remodeling.  5 star rating for complete professionalism!  Thank you again!!! VAM Construction & Remodeling Kitchen Remodel
We hired VAM Construction and Remodeling to close in a drywall entertainment.  Their estimate was 42% lower than the highest bid.  The project included closing in the entertainment center, removing an old TV from a different wall, patching and painting that wall, installing an electric fireplace, and hanging a Frame TV.  VAM arrived as scheduled.  They began work on the Monday before Thanksgiving (11/21/22) and it was completed on Tuesday, 11/30/22.  VAM employees were friendly, competent, and asked questions to ensure the project met expectations. The wall looks better than I imagined. I'm so happy I chose VAM and will call them for our next project.  THANK YOU!

Ignite Construction Kitchen Remodel
I had a kitchen project that I wanted to do, but it involved electrical work, drywall work, plumbing, tiling, and new counter tops.  It overwhelmed me trying to figure out how I was going to coordinate all of those things and get it done without losing my mind.  I received a recommendation from a friend about Ignite Construction and I am very, very pleased with all the work that was done. The last of the work was finished today and I could not be happier with the work, the workers, and the effort of Marie Coppola, the owner of Ignite Construction.  She was so easy to work with and helped with my decisions when I wasn't sure what to do.  She made sure everything was done to my liking and the whole project took about 3 weeks total.  I highly recommend this company.  SV02052019

His work is outstanding. Finds the problem and fixes it. Would recommend him to anyone needing some home repair. I would not use anyone else. He installed a new engineered wood floor in our home after removing outdated tile flooring. Excellent job and well done. He also replaced rotted facia boards. Black H2O Construction Kitchen Remodel
We had a roof leak into a very small space behind our water heater. There was small water damage and a bit of mold. Other companies quoted us $1700-2700 because they wanted to remove the water heater. Elias was able to do it for a third of the price without removing the water heater! He was a great contractor to work with- let me know when he was on the way and was very understanding of our wanting to keep costs down. He did a great repair job and we plan to ask him to help us with other projects in the house. Thanks Elias!

Aceves Construction and Design Kitchen Remodel
I was referred by my real estate agent. Marvin is not the cheapest, but learned that cheap contractors end up becoming expensive.  Marvin's prices are fair.  I fired him and hired a cheaper contractor, which was a huge mistake.  The. Inspector was going to almost shut me down because my guy didn't know what they were doing.  I called Marvin and he fixed my electrical and drywall problems really quick.    True statement.. you know when you missed up ,  when the city inspector shakes your contractor's hand and said "thank you for coming back on the job".  My project   took triple the time and double the price.  Never again will I go with a cheap contractor. Thanks Marvin.

Southwest General Contracting Kitchen Remodel
Highly recommend Sigi and his crew! Super easy to work with. His pricing was very fair. I had an entire 2nd story deck rebuilt and house leveled by replacing the support beams in my carport under my master bedroom. The work was top notch. Every question was answered and the crew even made suggestions to help save some money. Special shout out to Tim and Adrian who worked their tails off to make sure everything was right. Even when there were minor issues, they were resolved immediately. I would absolutely use them again. You wont go wrong using Southwest. Thanks for everything Sigi!

Red Eye Construction Kitchen Remodel
We had a flood at our rental. The complete destruction of our dining room happened. Red Eye Construction came in and did a beautiful job with the put back and with quality materials, and in a very timely manner. They worked so well with our tenant who is having a very rough time in his personal life right now. I highly recommend this company you will not regret this choice in hiring Red Eye Construction to do any remodeling you may need.

Dynamite Kitchen Remodel
First, let me say that he came out and did an estimate right away and seemed incredibly knowledgeable. I was so excited to hire this company to remodel the kitchen in my mother-in-law suite. Unfortunately it took two weeks to get the initial estimate rather than getting it by the end of that first week as he had stated. Then the estimate was missing some major components... The install of a gas stove and stainless hood (and that's really a BIG part of this project).
When I emailed him about this, a week later I still had not heard back with an updated estimate so I emailed him yet again and left a voicemail. His response was that he thought the vendor would install yet he and I had very clearly discussed that Dynamite would do the installation. Bottom line is that he added another $250 to the estimate and still didn't give me any info on his availability (which I asked for a few different times). As much as I would love to hire this company because I really genuinely think he knows what he's talking about and the price is reasonable, I think he is just far too busy and may not do a good job on my project because he didn't care enough to get me the estimate when he said he would, missed major components on the estimate, didn't  respond to my email for over a week, and he also didn't  answer his phone or return my call. I know my project might not be as big or important as his other projects, but it is very important to me and I would have been happy to schedule this several months out if needed. I just want a company that I can count on to pay attention to detail and communicate in a timely manner. Very disappointed this didn't work out.

White Builder Kitchen Remodel
We were in the middle of a tragic bathroom remodel in which the previous "contractor" took the money and left. We had previously received a quote from Ellen and after coincidentally running into her we asked if she could help. She was willing to help even after we did not choose her for the job due to the competing quote being a little cheaper.

She and her team came in and repaired many errors that the previous contractor made. They did a phenomenal job and we are thrilled with the way that our bathroom came out in the end. Her team showed up when promised and worked very carefully and precisely. They did not leave a mess as the previous contractor did.

I recommend White Builder for any project that you have in mind, keep in mind that many parts are delayed beyond any contractors control at this point. (it took almost 3 months to get a bathtub).

Ellen is great to work with And keeps you informed of any setbacks or unforeseen changes throughout the process. Her team is great to work with and we thank them for fixing the absolute mess that the previous contractor got us into.

Mohave Leveling Kitchen Remodel
BEWARE: I hired David with "Mohave Leveling" to level an addition on my mobile home and add additional supports underneath. He requested a deposit of 20% for materials which is always a risk but I proceeded and sent the deposit. Once he received  the deposit He immediately disappeared, would not respond to countless calls and texts. At the time of this review he has still not responded or made it right, if he does I will edit this review
