Greg Avakian Electrician
Greg was responsive, courteous, and most importantly, gave a fair price.

Before the visit, Greg spent time reviewing some photos I took of the areas of concern I had, and the work that I thought I needed.

I was debating whether to upgrade my 100amp to 200amp service, and Greg helped me understand that the upgrade was unnecessary at this time, given the current requirements in my 1350 sf home. When does a contractor talk you out of work? I appreciated Greg's honesty here.

In my house, the box covering the wires coming in underground and the greenfield conduit running from the box to the meter have some rust on them, and I was concerned about their condition. Greg did a full inspection on these components and concluded that they also didn't need to be replaced as well, because there wasn't evidence of recent water damage and the wire inside was in good condition. Again, more money saved where another contractor might have just repaired for the sake of the job.

Finally, I did need a proper grounding system installed on my 100amp service and Greg efficiently installed a grounding rod and ran the wire to ground my water pipes, gas service, and cable connections.

And Greg gave me fair pricing for the time he took to do the job (~2 hrs). Other contractors were pricing me at 2-3x the rate that Greg gave me.

Greg has his customers' best interests in mind, and I will definitely call him back whenever I need electrical work.

Lauterborn Electric Electrician
I highly recommend Lauterborn Electric. They helped put the finishing touches on our home by installing a ceiling fan in our living area, a funky industrial light fixture over our kitchen island, a stunning chandelier over our dinning room table and a new light fixture outside in our patio. Thanks to their personal, care and touch; our home finally feels like home sweet home.

iTech Electric Electrician
I really appreciated the care they put into installing two lights and an outlet in my home. Tony was extremely respectful of my home, cleaned everything up after he was done, and didnt charge me extra when I'm sure most people would have, twice!  he needed to call someone else to insist with the install which I appreciated because it means he wasn't just going to try to get it done on his own for the sake of time, but wanted it done well/right. Also thank you for being mindful of the white rugs! Most workers who come out to do work leave some sort of mess behind I have to clean up. This was not the case with Itech. Tony even had little booties for his shoes so he wouldn't bring in dirt to my home. 10/10 would recommend.

GE Electrical Services Electrician
I contacted GE Electrical Services after a bad electrician wired my house completely wrong. Edmond gave me a fair price to correct all the issue. His team does not cut corners and they make sure everything was up to code. Communication was good. I will be calling them for all my future projects.

Thomas Edison Electric Electrician
I'd call them....amazing. The tech was very professional, knew exactly what to do, and completed the job. The cost was quite reasonable, as well. Our tech, Hector, arrived exactly when we were told. The team at Thomas Edison were really nice and easy to talk with. So, yeah, amazing.

Thomas Edison Electric Electrician
I can't say enough good things about Thomas Edison Electric. They are a very timely, professional and great company. I called later in the evening frantic when I found out that I would be responsible for having an electrical pole fixed on my dollar. Tom was very kind and understanding, he was upfront about the cost of an emergency call and coming out the next day, which isn't something you usually hear from companies when there's an emergency. The techs came out on time the next day while also calling in advance which was a nice courtesy. They performed the tasks necessary to fix the pole and also helped my father in law with the generator. My father in law spoke very highly of them and was so impressed by their honesty and commitment. It's rare to find quality companies that are professional like Edison.

EP Electric Electrician
Reached out to a handful of local companies for my outlet repair and EP gave me the best price. Andi was fantastic on the customer service end - knowledgable, accommodating, and polite. He was able to get me squared away with an appointment next day!

Ron was the tech that came out. He arrived on time (a little early which was great), was very kind, and kept me informed throughout the entire repair process. Great experience and his work was clean!

Will definitely be contacting them again for all future electrical work. Highly recommend EP Electric!!

Aratech Services Electrician
I had been saving up a bunch of work for Joel this year. Gave him the laundry list and scheduled a day for him and Jay to swing by. They had already done the kitchen reno, a bunch of smart lighting and controls, and camera installations for us last year.

This year it was ceiling fans, additional smart lighting controls, new lighting fixtures, and to troubleshoot a problematic camera.

Not only was the work done efficiently, but the new lighting fixtures look like they were always there. He also considered the camera troubleshooting warranty work although it turned out to be a manufacturer issue to their satisfaction. Above and beyond.

As long as Joel is in business, we'll continue to use him for our electrical needs.

Tyree Strickland Electric, LLC Electrician
I recently purchased a washer and dryer that were set to be delivered to my new home on Saturday. On Wednesday I realized that I did not have an outlet to put the washer on. I called Strickland Electric and told him what my situation was. He came out that same day to give me an estimate. The price was $25 cheaper than another estimate I received and he agreed to do the work before the washer and dryer were set to arrive. He arrived within the time frame he set and started right to work. He cleaned up his work area when done. Last he showed me how to turn the socket on and off and explained instances where it would turn off on its own. He was very polite and professional. Strickland Electric is going to be my go-to electrician from now on.

Thomas Edison Electric Electrician
Joe showed up in a mask and upgraded our circuit breaker professionally and quickly. I tried reaching several electricians before getting ahold of Thomas Edison Electric, and they were non-responsive. Once I found these guys, they responded right away and fixed our issue the following morning. I will definitely call them again next time I need an electrician.

McGoldrick and Paul Electric Electrician
Highly recommend!! I had to get lots of work done on my home per a home inspection report and the township's C.O. Michael came out at 7:30 in the morning and worked off of a checklist, completing everything before noon. Very friendly, very professional, very competent. Brian (the owner) ensured that everything was working before they left. The price was reasonable, and I will certainly use them again. Great job, McGoldrick and Paul!

Anton Electric Electrician
Having never hired a contractor to do any work in my home, I can't say enough great things about Anton Electric!

Everyone in my family is in some sort of skilled trade so we rarely have to hire contractors.  My cousin is an electrician but he's been unavoidably detained with a 4 year old and a new born, so I had to call in the pros to install our media center and wire in a ceiling fan where no electric existed before.

Jeff, from Anton Electric, was not only on time each day he came, but he was professional and did everything neatly and proper.  He installed all of our components in the basement and ran an infrared device through the walls and placed it discretely next to the TV (which I still can't find).  Now everything is out of site in the basement and all we have in our living room is the TV and speakers - it's amazing!  Everything is controlled through this infrared and changing channels and such sends a signal to our devices in the basement.  I'd highly recommend this if yo want to hide your devices.

Jeff also installed a ceiling fan in our living room and honestly, he had it up in under 20 minutes.

We shopped around with some other contractors and Anton was not only the most competitive, but they appeared to have had the best reputation.  We'll be calling them back when we redo our kitchen or have any other electrical needs! Thanks Anton!

Thomas Edison Electric Electrician
I called this company on a hot summer day when my tenant called me and told me her power went off.  I was running around town with my two kids, so in a hurry I decided to call the first company I saw on yelp. I really wish I had taken more time to look for a more reputable company.

First, be aware that this company has multiple listings for different locations all over the city. If you look at their other listings, you will see the many poor reviews that they have received.

I received multiple phone calls from different people after my initial service request. They repeatedly told me that there is a $165 charge for emergency dispatch, and that once they do an inspection, they will let me know what the cost of the actual work will be. When the technician got to the house, a guy named Steven Miller called me and said he wanted me to pay the dispatch fee upfront before anything is done.  He then sent me an email to get my written authorization to charge the credit card. All of this seemed a bit odd to me... the multiple phone calls, the written authorization, the fee up front... but I didn't think too much of it and just proceeded.

About 10 minutes after I paid for the dispatch fee, Steve calls me back with his technician on the phone to tell me that they have to charge me another fee for the diagnostic. I told them that my understanding was after spending $165 they would be able to tell me what's wrong and give me an estimate on the cost of the work. He then proceeded to repeat everything that he and another one of his employees had already told me over the phone multiple times. I told him that I did not feel comfortable proceeding forward and that I was going to call around to see if other companies have similar practices. He then had his other employee (a woman with a courteous voice) call me to try to reason with me. I told her again that I was going to call around and if this is common practice, then that's fine, but if not then I will be leaving a long review for them.

I got off the phone with the woman and called another local electrician. This man was honest, prompt and straightforward. He came out within half hour and fixed the problem for me under 10 minutes and charged me a third of what Thomas Edison had quoted me for simply coming out and finding out what the problem is (not including any work done).

Needless to say, I will be sticking with my honest electrician from now on. Steve did call me again to tell me that he would not charge me the $165 as a courtesy to make me happy. I thought for a second about not leaving a bad review, but I decided that I cannot let this company get away with unethical practice. This company needs to know that people are not stupid and this kind of bait and switch business practice will only backfire. Simple honesty, trustworthiness and respect for people is the way to go.
